- 0:40Speaker 1: Hey, thanks for being with us. On another way, that
- 0:43Speaker 1: inviews now excellent sysportion in the program brought to by
- 0:47Speaker 1: Central Texas Sports Medicine. Coming up, We're gonna hear from
- 0:52Speaker 1: an football coach, Mike Elko, he met with the media today,
- 0:56Speaker 1: answered a few questions. We're gonna hear from Bruce Bochee
- 1:04Speaker 1: for the last time as a Ranger manager, don't know.
- 1:08Speaker 1: And we're gonna hear from Luke Donald and Rory McElroy
- 1:12Speaker 1: on the Ryder Cup beatdown of Europe over the United
- 1:15Speaker 1: States over the weekend. Elko did say that he is
- 1:21Speaker 1: trying every avenue to stop the penalties. He said today
- 1:28Speaker 1: they are instituting a cabo fund for the coaching staff
- 1:32Speaker 1: that the players will be donating to. We'll see if
- 1:37Speaker 1: that makes a difference. A and M, of course had
- 1:40Speaker 1: lots of penalties, but the bottom line they won survive
- 1:44Speaker 1: in advance sixteen to ten over Auburn four and zer
- 1:49Speaker 1: hosting Mississippi State on Saturday night at six thirty. And
- 1:56Speaker 1: we have learned today that the Florida game will also
- 2:01Speaker 1: be an evening game the following week, on the eleventh,
- 2:06Speaker 1: either on ESPN, ABC or the SEC network. We won't
- 2:10Speaker 1: know that until next weekend, but it will be a
- 2:14Speaker 1: night game. This is kind of a stunner. I don't
- 2:20Speaker 1: know if we saw this coming. Paul Finbaum saying today
- 2:25Speaker 1: he would consider leaving ESPN to run for the United
- 2:29Speaker 1: States Senate in Alabama. Fine Baum, who has seventy told
- 2:34Speaker 1: OutKick he'd run as a Republican to fill the seat
- 2:37Speaker 1: vacated by former Auburn football coach Tommy Tubberville, who is
- 2:42Speaker 1: running for governor. The qualifying deadline is January the twenty sixth.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Fine Baum said he would likely have to leave his
- 2:54Speaker 1: host and analyst duties. He said he'll make the decision
- 2:58Speaker 1: in the next thirty to forty five days. He said,
- 3:02Speaker 1: it's something I never thought about, but the assassination of
- 3:07Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk was the impetus to give it a thought.
- 3:11Speaker 1: He noted he received a text from a couple of
- 3:14Speaker 1: people in Washington gaging his interest. He's registered in North Carolina,
- 3:21Speaker 1: which is the base for the SEC network, but told
- 3:26Speaker 1: OutKick he has recently moved to Alabama and would reregister there.
- 3:34Speaker 1: The Major League Playoffs begin tomorrow without the Astros or
- 3:40Speaker 1: the Rangers. Tigers, Guardians play tomorrow the Padres Cubs, the
- 3:49Speaker 1: Red Sox Yankees, and the Reds and the Dodgers. Three
- 3:55Speaker 1: of the games on ESPN. The middle game at one
- 3:59Speaker 1: o'clock is Padres Cubs on ABC television. The Minnesota Twins
- 4:06Speaker 1: have fired Roco ball Deli, ending his seven year tenure
- 4:10Speaker 1: included three al Central titles. Of course, the usual thing,
- 4:19Speaker 1: said President Derek Folvey. This is a difficult day. YadA
- 4:23Speaker 1: YadA YadA. Honesty, integrity, blah blah blah. The Tin Twins
- 4:28Speaker 1: were expected to compete, faltered in June became sellers at
- 4:33Speaker 1: the trade deadline and pared down twenty six million in payroll.
- 4:38Speaker 1: They were twenty games under. After the All Star break,
- 4:42Speaker 1: the Giants announced they have fired Bob Melvin. The Giants
- 4:47Speaker 1: missed the playoffs after being two games back from the Reds.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Melvin led the Giants for two years. They were eighty
- 4:55Speaker 1: one and eighty one this year. Buster Posey, the president
- 5:00Speaker 1: of Baseball Operations, said, after meeting with ownership, I met
- 5:05Speaker 1: with Bob to inform him of my decision. Apparently there
- 5:11Speaker 1: was careful evaluation exercise during that decision. In Nambi Madabuque
- 5:25Speaker 1: going to be out for the rest of the year
- 5:27Speaker 1: with a neck injury. Former Aggie lineman had symptoms in
- 5:33Speaker 1: the win over Cleveland on the fourteenth. Placed on injured
- 5:36Speaker 1: reserve on Saturday. There's an uncertainty as to whether this
- 5:42Speaker 1: injury could be career threatening. It's been a pro Bowl player,
- 5:50Speaker 1: been off to one of his best starts in his
- 5:52Speaker 1: sixth year career, and two time US Writer Cup captain
- 5:57Speaker 1: Tom Watson today apologize to the European team for the
- 6:02Speaker 1: fan behavior in New York over the weekend. Watson posting
- 6:07Speaker 1: on Twitter, I'd like to congratulate Writer Cup Europe for
- 6:11Speaker 1: their victory. Your team played the first few days with
- 6:14Speaker 1: sensational More importantly, I'd like to apologize for the rude
- 6:19Speaker 1: and mean spirited behavior from our American crowd at Betpage
- 6:23Speaker 1: as a former player captain, as American, I'm ashamed of
- 6:28Speaker 1: what happened. We're here. From Rory coming up, he said,
- 6:33Speaker 1: I don't think we should ever accept that in golf.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I think golf should be held to a higher standard.
- 6:39Speaker 1: There was a lot of language that was unacceptable and
- 6:42Speaker 1: abusive behavior. In other words, it was like any NFL
- 6:46Speaker 1: Sunday and a lot of college Saturdays. And by the way,
- 6:51Speaker 1: I'm not condoning that, I'm not saying that's right, but
- 6:56Speaker 1: I wish every golf tournament was like the Writer Cup,
- 7:00Speaker 1: with fans screaming when players are trying to hit the ball.
- 7:03Speaker 1: These guys make millions of dollars. People scream when a
- 7:08Speaker 1: player is trying to win a game with a free
- 7:10Speaker 1: throw right, they're waving things in front of his face.
- 7:13Speaker 1: People scream at Kyle Field for three hours. Okay, they
- 7:18Speaker 1: scream when the other team is trying to snap the football.
- 7:23Speaker 1: It's done in every sport except for tennis and golf.
- 7:28Speaker 1: And I've said this before, I think the average fan
- 7:33Speaker 1: the golf and tennis are niche sports. No matter what
- 7:36Speaker 1: you say, the average fan, I think would be drawn
- 7:39Speaker 1: to the game if the fans could scream every time
- 7:43Speaker 1: the players stand over a shot. Now, I don't want
- 7:46Speaker 1: them screaming about their wives, or their girlfriends, or their
- 7:50Speaker 1: sisters or their mothers. I don't want them using foul language,
- 7:54Speaker 1: although in the other sports I've mentioned that happens continuously.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Again doesn't make it right, but I think a little
- 8:07Speaker 1: screaming would help golf a lot.
- 8:10Speaker 3: And again, not defending the drunk fans, not defending the
- 8:15Speaker 3: fans throwing beer at Rory's wife. I'm not defending the
- 8:21Speaker 3: things that they said, although I really don't know what
- 8:23Speaker 3: they said, but I know it was bad enough to
- 8:25Speaker 3: get everyone's attention, just saying, if you could clean it up,
- 8:32Speaker 3: let's scream a little at golf and see how good
- 8:35Speaker 3: these guys are.
- 8:36Speaker 1: They're so spoiled to begin with.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Oh, the fair ways weren't great, the greens were bumpy.
- 8:45Speaker 4: I had an early tea time. My hamburger wasn't cooked properly,
- 8:54Speaker 4: my chef is sick, and I had to eat regular food,
- 9:00Speaker 4: my trainer, missus flight. Come on, hi, uh, We're going
- 9:09Speaker 4: to take a break.
- 9:10Speaker 5: We are going to crown the Week five Friday's fearless
- 9:16Speaker 5: champion when we come back and tell you about Week

- 9:52Speaker 6: co Insurance a Hub International company, So you're ready for tomorrow.
- 9:58Speaker 7: NASCAR Cup Series race recap from Camp Speedway. I'm Kerrie Murphy.
- 10:01Speaker 7: An incredible finish. After restarting tenth, Chase Elliott finds his
- 10:05Speaker 7: way to the front and takes the checkered flag.
- 10:08Speaker 8: I feel like anything could happen, But I mean, you're
- 10:11Speaker 8: lining up tenth on a green white checker. Of your
- 10:13Speaker 8: odds are not very high. I wouldn't say at that point.
- 10:16Speaker 8: But I mean, yeah, I've seen crazier things, so I
- 10:19Speaker 8: you know, my mindset was just try and build up
- 10:21Speaker 8: as much momentum as I could and hope lanes, you know,
- 10:25Speaker 8: hope things kind of went my way, and fortunately they
- 10:29Speaker 8: they did. I feel like I got about as far
- 10:30Speaker 8: as I was going to get off of two. You know,
- 10:33Speaker 8: have mymentium on the white. Yeah, I saw the the
- 10:36Speaker 8: eleven and twenty three racing hard and three, and I thought, man,
- 10:38Speaker 8: if I just stick the bottom here, I might have
- 10:40Speaker 8: a at least be three wide with him off of four,
- 10:42Speaker 8: you know, or something was kind of what I was
- 10:44Speaker 8: shooting for. And I really don't know, I have to
- 10:46Speaker 8: go back and watch it. I haven't seen it. I
- 10:48Speaker 8: just I saw them running there really hard. My eyes went,
- 10:51Speaker 8: you know, to just do the best I could do
- 10:53Speaker 8: to paint the bottom as fast as I could paint it,
- 10:55Speaker 8: and I really kind of quit watching them. And then
- 10:57Speaker 8: I saw the eleven coming back down and you know,
- 11:00Speaker 8: obviously ran into him. You know too, I think he
- 11:02Speaker 8: was trying to cover my run, but he was too late.
- 11:04Speaker 9: You know.
- 11:05Speaker 7: At that point, it's Chase's second win of the season,
- 11:08Speaker 7: second Kansas win, and he moves on to the round
- 11:10Speaker 7: of eight. Denny Hamlin was second, followed by Christopher Bell,
- 11:13Speaker 7: Chase Briscoe, and Bubba Wallace rounds out the top five.
- 11:16Speaker 7: Up next for the NASCAR Cup Series is the Charlotte
- 11:19Speaker 7: Roval Road Course. It goes down Sunday, three pm Eastern
- 11:22Speaker 7: on USA. This is the final lap.
- 11:25Speaker 10: Find what you love, Love what you find.

- 12:29Speaker 11: just sports.

- 12:33Speaker 11: Join Jip Powered Evenings forty six on The.
- 12:36Speaker 14: Zone Friday's Fearless Football Forecast Contest.
- 12:46Speaker 1: We are odd to week number six. That's crazy, Week
- 12:53Speaker 1: number six all right? Week five winner, So for all
- 12:59Speaker 1: you want, drink the Packers Cowboys tie not scored. We
- 13:04Speaker 1: scored nine games this week. Okay, Matt Bova won eight
- 13:11Speaker 1: of them. Which game did he miss? Auburn Texas A
- 13:17Speaker 1: and M he missed Auburn Texas A and M. I'm
- 13:22Speaker 1: not kidding. I can't make this stuff up. We tried
- 13:25Speaker 1: to get a hold of Matt if you know him
- 13:27Speaker 1: telling we're talking about him on the radio. He won
- 13:32Speaker 1: brunch for two from cassam Monyori, so he might want
- 13:37Speaker 1: to you might want to tell him that anyway, congratulations
- 13:40Speaker 1: to him. He was guess who was second this week?
- 13:45Speaker 15: Me?
- 13:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, crazy right, Yeah, I was seven to two.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I was tied for second. But that gets you nothing
- 13:56Speaker 1: in my contest, nor will it ever, by the way,
- 13:59Speaker 1: But Week six here we go, get online, make your picks.
- 14:03Speaker 1: You haven't till now at five o'clock on Friday, to
- 14:06Speaker 1: make your picks. Miami Florida State. Remember when that game
- 14:09Speaker 1: used to have I mean that was huge right, wide
- 14:13Speaker 1: left or was it wide right? I think it was
- 14:16Speaker 1: wide left, like three years in a row or something
- 14:19Speaker 1: like that. Anyway, this one has natty implications as well.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Miami Florida State, Brian Coppers, Cove Hendrickson at College Station,
- 14:28Speaker 1: Mississippi State, Texas A and M Texas at Florida, Texas
- 14:33Speaker 1: Tech at Houston, Kansas State at Baylor, Virginia Louisville. The
- 14:40Speaker 1: Cowboys and the Jets, and the Texans and the Ravens.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Those are the ten games were picking week number six.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I had a former winner text me his light up
- 14:53Speaker 1: from two weeks ago. I think it was like one
- 14:55Speaker 1: to nine. It's really hard to do anyway, I digress.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Friday's Fearless Football Forecast Contest is a division of Sports
- 15:06Speaker 1: Talk America's Most Loved football pickup Contest. It's brought to
- 15:09Speaker 1: you by Chad Jones Law at Zwernemud Flooring. All Right,
- 15:16Speaker 1: there we go tomorrow, Phone the neighbors wake the Kids.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Author John Bacon is with me. His book is called
- 15:28Speaker 1: The Gales of November. It's one of the best books
- 15:32Speaker 1: I ever read, and you know I read a lot, right.
- 15:36Speaker 1: It's all about the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. John
- 15:41Speaker 1: Bacon joins us tomorrow on the program and looking forward
- 15:47Speaker 1: to that. We'll have a high school report tomorrow. Mallory
- 15:50Speaker 1: will be with us tomorrow and we'll go from there.
- 15:56Speaker 1: So Mike Elcho visited at the media today, as he
- 16:01Speaker 1: does every Monday during the football season. During game week,
- 16:05Speaker 1: you can hear Mike Elcho live here on the Zone
- 16:10Speaker 1: on Monday afternoons at one point thirty. But I know
- 16:15Speaker 1: some of you that listened still actually have actual jobs
- 16:20Speaker 1: and maybe can't listen. Here is part of what coach
- 16:25Speaker 1: Elko had to say today.
- 16:27Speaker 11: Yeah, just want to start by acknowledging former first Lady
- 16:31Speaker 11: of Texas A and M Football, Revelly nine, who passed
- 16:33Speaker 11: away recently. She served as the active mascot from twenty
- 16:38Speaker 11: fifteen to twenty twenty one, and obviously very aware of
- 16:41Speaker 11: how much that means not only the football program but
- 16:44Speaker 11: to the university, and so would be remiss to not
- 16:47Speaker 11: start with that. Excited for this week blackout back at
- 16:54Speaker 11: Kyle Field. So love for the fans to come out
- 16:57Speaker 11: donning the all black like we did last year. Thought
- 16:59Speaker 11: we care an unbelievable atmosphere in Kyle Field last year
- 17:03Speaker 11: when we did that, and so wanted to repeat that
- 17:06Speaker 11: and so looking forward to that. I kind of wore
- 17:09Speaker 11: the all black today to try to set that off
- 17:11Speaker 11: the right way. Appreciate the Yankees shirt in the back.
- 17:15Speaker 11: Can't stand the Red Sox hat in the front. As
- 17:19Speaker 11: we get going into the MLB playoffs, it'd be a
- 17:21Speaker 11: great series starting Tuesday night in the Bronx and then
- 17:25Speaker 11: just looking back on Auburn, just kind of starting with
- 17:27Speaker 11: Players of the Week. Scout Team offense was Luke Brayden,
- 17:31Speaker 11: on defense it was Tommy Colligan, and Special Teams Player
- 17:35Speaker 11: of the Week was Jesse Chuku. Lineman of the Week
- 17:38Speaker 11: Offensively with Demetrio's crown over, I thought that was his
- 17:41Speaker 11: most complete game since we've been here. I thought he
- 17:43Speaker 11: played really physical in the run game, did a really
- 17:46Speaker 11: good job in the protection. I was one of the
- 17:48Speaker 11: few kids who I didn't agree with the penalty, and
- 17:52Speaker 11: so there wasn't a lot of options if you eliminated
- 17:55Speaker 11: penalty guys on the offensive line, but I thought he
- 17:58Speaker 11: played a really really good game. Defensively, DJ Hicks continues
- 18:02Speaker 11: to make really big plays. I thought that sack he
- 18:04Speaker 11: had in the first quarter on the short field was
- 18:07Speaker 11: one of the biggest plays in the game, so it
- 18:09Speaker 11: was great to see him do that. Our players of
- 18:11Speaker 11: the Week offensively, obviously, Leveon Moss thought he carried the
- 18:15Speaker 11: load for us on offense, had a really really good
- 18:17Speaker 11: day running the football against a really strong rushing defense.
- 18:20Speaker 11: Defensively was Torrian York. Just made a ton of key,
- 18:24Speaker 11: big plays throughout the course of that game and felt
- 18:27Speaker 11: like every time we needed one, he was the one
- 18:29Speaker 11: making it. And then in our special teams player of
- 18:31Speaker 11: the Week and this one deserves a little bit of
- 18:33Speaker 11: a shout out as Jared Kerr and I just think
- 18:36Speaker 11: anytime we can acknowledge kids in this program who are
- 18:40Speaker 11: giving everything they have for Texas A and M football,
- 18:43Speaker 11: maybe not exactly in the role that they hope for.
- 18:46Speaker 11: Jared's a fourth year player, I'm sure would love to
- 18:48Speaker 11: be the starting safety and in a lot of programs
- 18:51Speaker 11: probably could be the starting safety and has decided to
- 18:54Speaker 11: stick it out with us to be an aggie and
- 18:57Speaker 11: to contribute and really does a really phenomenal job and
- 19:00Speaker 11: for us on all four units. And so when we
- 19:02Speaker 11: looked at the film, I think it played out exactly
- 19:05Speaker 11: like we talked about it. I think defensively, we played
- 19:08Speaker 11: really really well. I don't think there were a lot
- 19:10Speaker 11: of things when you went back and watched the tape
- 19:12Speaker 11: where you said, oh, you know, last year, there were
- 19:14Speaker 11: times where you would watch the tape and there'd be
- 19:16Speaker 11: four or five six plays. We were like, oh, thank god,
- 19:19Speaker 11: they didn't find him or they didn't see him. The
- 19:21Speaker 11: tape was clean. I thought we did a really really
- 19:23Speaker 11: good job leveraging and defending them. I think that showed
- 19:27Speaker 11: in the stats and the results. Was really proud of
- 19:30Speaker 11: how we played the fourth quarter. You know, when they
- 19:32Speaker 11: got the lead, they got the score and got it
- 19:34Speaker 11: down to thirteen ten, they never got another first down.
- 19:38Speaker 11: I thought that was just a tribute to the character
- 19:40Speaker 11: of the team and the group. So that was exciting. Offensively,
- 19:44Speaker 11: you know, we moved the ball well, we were efficient,
- 19:47Speaker 11: We made fifteen explosive plays. We threw the ball well,
- 19:51Speaker 11: we were fifteen of twenty two. We just had too
- 19:54Speaker 11: many penalties and penalties killed drives, and we had too
- 19:57Speaker 11: many penalties killed explosive plays, killed ives, kill our rhythm
- 20:01Speaker 11: and just ultimately kill our ability to score. And so
- 20:05Speaker 11: it's a problem. It's something that we have to get
- 20:07Speaker 11: fixed and addressed. It was a very very strong point
- 20:11Speaker 11: of our meetings this morning, and you know, we won't
- 20:14Speaker 11: continue to win games if we don't solve that problem.
- 20:16Speaker 11: And so that's Auburn moving on to Mississippi State. Excited
- 20:21Speaker 11: to be back at home in Kyle Field, Excited to
- 20:23Speaker 11: play another really talented SEC football team, and I'm sure
- 20:26Speaker 11: Kyle Field will be rocking Saturday night, and so just
- 20:29Speaker 11: excited to get back at it. From there, we're opening.
- 20:31Speaker 16: Up the questions Coach Mike, I'm gonna be like Mark
- 20:35Speaker 16: pass Waters and ask you a couple of questions.
- 20:38Speaker 11: Hey, why don't we just make this the obi presconsins.
- 20:44Speaker 16: You know, I was looking up and I think it's
- 20:46Speaker 16: pretty obvious. But since the I guess first play of
- 20:50Speaker 16: the second half against USA and the opener you guys have,
- 20:54Speaker 16: I think giving up like two point five yards of garry,
- 20:57Speaker 16: the run defense been so well without asking for State secrets,
- 21:00Speaker 16: you know, can you reveal what the reason why y'all
- 21:06Speaker 16: have gotten so much better in run defense.
- 21:08Speaker 11: Yeah, I think so. This is what I think happens.
- 21:10Speaker 11: I think, you know, the standard reaction to poor rush
- 21:14Speaker 11: defense is always the D line isn't good enough, and
- 21:18Speaker 11: sometimes that's the case, But for us, that hasn't been
- 21:21Speaker 11: like we are firm, we are strong against the run,
- 21:25Speaker 11: we hold the point well. What we've had troubles with,
- 21:29Speaker 11: really since I've been here has been leveraging the football,
- 21:33Speaker 11: and that has presented itself in a lot of different ways,
- 21:36Speaker 11: whether that's perimeter run game, cracks on the perimeter, getting
- 21:40Speaker 11: the ball outside. Sometimes it's our defensive edges, not our
- 21:43Speaker 11: defensive line edges, not holding the edge properly. We have
- 21:48Speaker 11: gotten beat to the perimeter more than like probably at
- 21:53Speaker 11: any point in my career as a defensive coordinator. Over
- 21:55Speaker 11: these fifteen months, it has been a constant conversation emphasis,
- 22:01Speaker 11: drill work, everything we can to fix it. I think
- 22:05Speaker 11: over the last however, many games we've done a little
- 22:09Speaker 11: better job at that. It's still reared up a little
- 22:12Speaker 11: bit in the Notre Dame game, although I don't think
- 22:15Speaker 11: it was quite as bad as it was a year
- 22:16Speaker 11: ago against Notre Dame and allowing the breakout runs down
- 22:19Speaker 11: the sideline. But if we can keep the ball inside
- 22:23Speaker 11: of us, we have a shot. And I think when
- 22:27Speaker 11: we do that, the run averages are what they should be.
- 22:30Speaker 11: When we don't, we tend to give up the sixteens,
- 22:33Speaker 11: the eighteens, the forties, the fifties, and then all of
- 22:36Speaker 11: a sudden, you're giving up six point five to carry
- 22:39Speaker 11: and it looks like you have a poor run defense.
- 22:41Speaker 11: That's really been the story since I got back, and
- 22:45Speaker 11: again there's a lot of things we're doing to try
- 22:47Speaker 11: to fix it. At the end of the day, it's
- 22:48Speaker 11: got to show up in the field. It did Saturday.
- 22:50Speaker 11: Hopefully it continues to do so.
- 22:53Speaker 16: It seems like Tory might have had the best game
- 22:55Speaker 16: of his career at A and M the other day.
- 22:57Speaker 16: What does he do what makes him different?
- 23:02Speaker 11: Yeah, I think he's and I've said this before, like
- 23:04Speaker 11: I think he's a throwback in terms of his knowledge
- 23:08Speaker 11: of the game, how much he studies the game, his
- 23:11Speaker 11: instincts for the game, and so his play speed is
- 23:16Speaker 11: so fast, and his ability to read and diagnose things
- 23:19Speaker 11: is so fast and so like the perfect comparison because
- 23:22Speaker 11: I was here with both of them, Like you had
- 23:24Speaker 11: Edgri and Cooper who probably had a little bit more
- 23:28Speaker 11: natural athleticism. You would watch him see plays and maybe
- 23:33Speaker 11: not see him quite the fastest, but when he triggered
- 23:35Speaker 11: and went like it was like WHOA, Torrian's the other way,
- 23:38Speaker 11: Like Torrian triggers almost sometimes before the play even unfolds,
- 23:42Speaker 11: Like you saw that on the tight End screen, Like
- 23:43Speaker 11: before the tighted even knew he was running the screen,
- 23:46Speaker 11: Torrian did. And he tracks him down and he gets
- 23:48Speaker 11: put through the linemen, and all of a sudden, before
- 23:51Speaker 11: the play can ever get going, Torrian's there. And that's
- 23:55Speaker 11: what he has done really really well since I've been here,
- 23:58Speaker 11: And you know, I don't I wouldn't even say it's
- 24:01Speaker 11: his best game because I think he did that a
- 24:02Speaker 11: lot towards the back half of last year too, when
- 24:05Speaker 11: he started to get real comfortable with the system, And
- 24:07Speaker 11: so I think that's what he brings. I think that's
- 24:10Speaker 11: how come he plays the way he does.
- 24:13Speaker 17: Coach to the left, aeric.
- 24:15Speaker 18: Hey Coach also got two for you. First of just
- 24:17Speaker 18: what have you seen Fromssissippi State this year? And how
- 24:20Speaker 18: do you think that Jeff Levies turned the team around
- 24:22Speaker 18: from last year?
- 24:24Speaker 11: Yeah, obviously it's another SEC game. They're an extremely talented team.
- 24:28Speaker 11: I think Jeff is a phenomenal offensive coach. I think
- 24:30Speaker 11: they do a really really good job testing you. They'll
- 24:33Speaker 11: stretch you sideline to sideline. They stretch you horizontally, they
- 24:36Speaker 11: stretch you vertically. They run a spread offense, but they're
- 24:40Speaker 11: really physical and how they run the football. I think
- 24:42Speaker 11: that's the thing that not a lot of people talk
- 24:45Speaker 11: about with that offense, is how committed they are and
- 24:48Speaker 11: how much they want to run the football well. And
- 24:51Speaker 11: they do that really good. And you can see, like
- 24:55Speaker 11: one of the things as a head coach that you
- 24:57Speaker 11: watch is you watch kind of like sideline energy, side engagement,
- 25:00Speaker 11: sideline interaction on the film. And they're an extremely energetic group,
- 25:05Speaker 11: which means they've got a lot of confidence in the
- 25:07Speaker 11: program and what they're doing. And now I'm sure they're
- 25:10Speaker 11: going to come in here and play their absolute best
- 25:11Speaker 11: football Saturday night.
- 25:13Speaker 18: And has Mario opened up to you about facing this
- 25:16Speaker 18: former team and what it means to.
- 25:17Speaker 11: Him now, try not to make a big deal about that,
- 25:20Speaker 11: you know, just another game for him.
- 25:22Speaker 19: Coach front right, Travis and Mike, I know there down's
- 25:26Speaker 19: always been a hallmark of your defenses. Why have you
- 25:29Speaker 19: all been able to be so good this year?
- 25:32Speaker 11: I don't know. It doesn't feel like we've been great
- 25:34Speaker 11: all year, to be honest with you, obviously we were Saturday.
- 25:37Speaker 11: I think there's been times where we've been good, times
- 25:39Speaker 11: where the execution maybe hasn't been what we wanted it
- 25:41Speaker 11: to be. I just think it's always a down that
- 25:44Speaker 11: we've put a real premium on, and everybody says that,
- 25:47Speaker 11: but like we we emphasize it a lot, We spend
- 25:50Speaker 11: a lot of time on it. I enjoy it probably
- 25:53Speaker 11: more than I do any other part of the game,
- 25:55Speaker 11: and so maybe just personally, I get a little bit
- 25:57Speaker 11: more excited when it's time to come up with a
- 25:59Speaker 11: third down game plan, and I just think you have
- 26:01Speaker 11: a little bit more flexibility and options in terms of
- 26:03Speaker 11: what you can do and how you can do things.
- 26:05Speaker 11: And yeah, it's such a big part of the game,
- 26:09Speaker 11: you know, we talk about it from this regard like
- 26:11Speaker 11: third down is literally two thirds of the game, because
- 26:14Speaker 11: you can be awful on first down, awful on second down,
- 26:16Speaker 11: went on third down and you're off the field And
- 26:19Speaker 11: you could be great on first down, great on second
- 26:20Speaker 11: down and lose third down and be on the field
- 26:22Speaker 11: all day, and so it's a huge part of the game.
- 26:25Speaker 11: We try to treat it that way.
- 26:27Speaker 19: And with the amount of second year guys in your system,
- 26:30Speaker 19: does it feel like you can have some more versatility
- 26:32Speaker 19: in what you want to do this year is supposed.
- 26:33Speaker 20: To last year?
- 26:34Speaker 11: Maybe? Yeah, I think so. I think so. I think,
- 26:37Speaker 11: you know, as the guys continue to get more and
- 26:38Speaker 11: more comfortable with what we're asking what they're doing, I
- 26:41Speaker 11: think we also have a better feel for who's good
- 26:44Speaker 11: at what That helps to and so it's kind of
- 26:46Speaker 11: a two way street. I think we know what everyone's
- 26:48Speaker 11: skill set is, and I think they understand what we're
- 26:51Speaker 11: asking of them and were what the responsibility is, and
- 26:54Speaker 11: so we've been able to probably take things to another level.
- 26:57Speaker 19: Yes, Pooby status a big for this week.
- 26:59Speaker 11: Yeah, it'll be day to day coach.
- 27:01Speaker 17: All the way in the back Donna coach. Going a
- 27:04Speaker 17: little bit deeper into Torrian. You've had a relationship with
- 27:06Speaker 17: him for a while, having had the opportunity to recruit
- 27:09Speaker 17: him as well. Just when did you see those qualities
- 27:12Speaker 17: pop up where you know, you watch him get the
- 27:15Speaker 17: defense basically set. I mean, I know, obviously he's been
- 27:18Speaker 17: a captain as a sense of sophomore since the sophomore year.
- 27:21Speaker 17: But did you see that while you were recruiting him
- 27:23Speaker 17: as well, that he's able to really keep everybody on
- 27:26Speaker 17: the same page.
- 27:27Speaker 11: Yeah, I don't know that you see the football IQ
- 27:30Speaker 11: to the level that you do when you have him here.
- 27:32Speaker 11: I think what always stood out to me was how
- 27:34Speaker 11: he played the game. Like we watched game film on him,
- 27:36Speaker 11: we watched him play the game, and he always played
- 27:39Speaker 11: the game really, really well. And so, you know, sometimes
- 27:43Speaker 11: production carries from level to level, and I think sometimes
- 27:47Speaker 11: people get caught up in the heighth weight, speed, components
- 27:50Speaker 11: of recruiting and what all of that looks like. For Toryan,
- 27:54Speaker 11: the production has carried. You know, the same production that
- 27:57Speaker 11: he was able to create in high school was the
- 27:59Speaker 11: same production he's been able to create in the SEC
- 28:01Speaker 11: And I think that's just a testimony to who he is.
- 28:04Speaker 11: Then when you get to get in the college environment
- 28:07Speaker 11: with them really and you sit down, you spend time
- 28:09Speaker 11: with him, I think that's when you start to really
- 28:11Speaker 11: figure out how much of a student in the game
- 28:13Speaker 11: he is, how the game kind of slows down for him,
- 28:15Speaker 11: and what he's able to do.
- 28:17Speaker 17: And then just on des Rix after this past weekend's game,
- 28:20Speaker 17: just how have you seen his confidence continue to grow
- 28:22Speaker 17: and as he's progressed.
- 28:24Speaker 11: Yeah, it's been awesome to see him mature. I think
- 28:28Speaker 11: that's really what's happened. I think, and I said this
- 28:31Speaker 11: at the beginning of the year. I've said this a
- 28:33Speaker 11: few times throughout the offseason. You know, we asked a
- 28:36Speaker 11: lot of him last year. You know, we were thin
- 28:38Speaker 11: in the secondary, We didn't have the depth that we wanted.
- 28:41Speaker 11: When we lost Javon Thomas for a really long time
- 28:43Speaker 11: from an injury standpoint, it made it really hard, and
- 28:46Speaker 11: so he carried, you know, not only a high level
- 28:48Speaker 11: of stress playing corner in this league as a red
- 28:51Speaker 11: shirt freshman, but also the volume of snaps that we
- 28:55Speaker 11: asked him to play, and so I think his body
- 28:58Speaker 11: really wore down. Thought he was really good for the
- 29:01Speaker 11: first half of the year and struggled down the stretch,
- 29:04Speaker 11: and it just was really good to see him this
- 29:06Speaker 11: offseason just commit to growing and developing and getting better.
- 29:11Speaker 11: And then when the kid goes out and gets rewarded
- 29:13Speaker 11: for it, I think that only helps his situation.
- 29:16Speaker 1: That's Mike Elko and we will talk much more Aggie football.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Coming up in thirty minutes. Rusty person Robert Sesston will
- 29:26Speaker 1: be here with the writers roundtable as we are on Mondays.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Don't forget Wednesday. Scotland Dinnon is with us every Friday.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Kirk Bolls and Tony Catalina are with us during the
- 29:42Speaker 1: football season. Kirk is with us through like next spring.
- 29:47Speaker 1: I can't get it. I can't you get away from him.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Kirk was actually at the game on Saturday, and you
- 29:56Speaker 1: Aggie fans need to read his column today at the
- 29:58Speaker 1: Houston Chronicle about Texas versus Texas. A and M wrote
- 30:05Speaker 1: a very interesting column today after seeing the Aggies up
- 30:08Speaker 1: close and personal on Saturday. So grab the kron and
- 30:13Speaker 1: read you some Kirk. Coming up, We're going to put
- 30:18Speaker 1: a cap on the Major League Baseball season because in
- 30:23Speaker 1: Texas it's over, the first time we've said that in
- 30:28Speaker 1: nine years that the state of Texas has not been
- 30:32Speaker 1: represented in the Major League Baseball. You're going to look
- 30:35Speaker 1: that up, aren't you. You're going to find I'm exactly
- 30:38Speaker 1: right about that nine years it's been. It may have
- 30:41Speaker 1: been longer because the Rangers may have been in nine
- 30:44Speaker 1: years ago. I don't think they were. They were in sixteen.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Look at fifteen wild card and the Rangers won the
- 30:57Speaker 1: division in fifteen. Okay, looking fourteen. So it's been that
- 31:07Speaker 1: the year Okay, fourteen, it's been. It's been eleven years,
- 31:12Speaker 1: not nine years. Eleven years. I misspoke. But that's why
- 31:16Speaker 1: Caleb's here. Galleria is your relaxation headquarters. If you're like,

- 31:51Speaker 1: to remind you, but this time of year, when you're footballing,
- 31:56Speaker 1: you know, three days a week or four days a
- 31:58Speaker 1: week or five days a week, a gift certificate to
- 32:01Speaker 1: your significant other from Galleria would go over really well.
- 32:05Speaker 1: That is a gift she will never take back. Whether
- 32:09Speaker 1: you want to tailor it to a specific kind of service,
- 32:13Speaker 1: or you just want to get like X amount on

- 32:20Speaker 1: Or if you want to give her an entire spa day.

- 34:56Speaker 1: Thanks for joining us. It is a Monday Writers roundtable
- 35:01Speaker 1: coming up. The Major League season ended for both the
- 35:06Speaker 1: Astros and the Rangers. Actually the season ended before that,
- 35:11Speaker 1: but Game one sixty two was yesterday, and yesterday's game
- 35:16Speaker 1: for the Rangers encapsulates the entire season. They scored three
- 35:22Speaker 1: runs in the tenth inning. They got a three run
- 35:26Speaker 1: lead in the tenth inning eight to five, three run lead,
- 35:29Speaker 1: eight to five, they gave up four, including a three
- 35:35Speaker 1: run walk off by Brian Rochio against rookie Jose Corneel.
- 35:45Speaker 1: The Rangers simply had no more pitching. They brought in
- 35:49Speaker 1: his first major league appearance. He did great in the
- 35:53Speaker 1: ninth inning. He really did not as well in the
- 36:00Speaker 1: in the tenth, so the Rangers lose nine to eight.
- 36:06Speaker 1: The San Francisco Giants fired their manager, Bob Melvin.
- 36:09Speaker 24: Today.
- 36:09Speaker 1: There is speculation that Bruce Bochi, who won two or
- 36:13Speaker 1: three World championships with San Francisco. Maybe going back, maybe
- 36:19Speaker 1: going back. I don't think he wants to leave Arlington.
- 36:24Speaker 1: We don't know if Chris Young wants him to leave
- 36:26Speaker 1: Arlington or not. I do not want him to leave Arlington,
- 36:32Speaker 1: but I'm not the one writing the check. He won
- 36:38Speaker 1: three at San Francisco. He would be welcomed back. I'm
- 36:41Speaker 1: sure he would be welcomed anywhere he wants to go
- 36:44Speaker 1: in baseball, quite frankly, because he is one of the best.
- 36:48Speaker 1: I've said it repeatedly, so for the last time for
- 36:51Speaker 1: a while. Here's Bruce Bochi postgame yesterday in Cleveland.
- 36:57Speaker 9: Butch, I know this wasn't the way that you wanted
- 36:59Speaker 9: this to end. But the fight that this team showed
- 37:02Speaker 9: in Game one sixty two, what does that say about
- 37:04Speaker 9: the character of this group and the potential it has
- 37:06Speaker 9: in the future.
- 37:07Speaker 25: Yeah, I told him that after the game. I mean,
- 37:09Speaker 25: this was a gut punch how or as they fought
- 37:11Speaker 25: today and have a three run lead and we're just
- 37:15Speaker 25: out of pitching. Couldn't help the kid, but he was
- 37:17Speaker 25: throwing the ball well up until then started making some mistakes.
- 37:20Speaker 25: But they did, man, they did. We were close to
- 37:24Speaker 25: sweeping them and just came up a little short in
- 37:26Speaker 25: these games. But to your point, man, they last day
- 37:30Speaker 25: of the season. A lot of times your focus is
- 37:33Speaker 25: somewhere else, and it was on winning this game. And
- 37:36Speaker 25: just just love how they went out there and put
- 37:39Speaker 25: together a good ball game.
- 37:41Speaker 9: Yeah, tough spot for Corneilla starter to make his big
- 37:44Speaker 9: league debut, But how do you think of just the
- 37:46Speaker 9: way that he handled himself.
- 37:48Speaker 25: I thought he did a really nice job. Came in
- 37:50Speaker 25: with you know, runner on second base, pitch well there,
- 37:54Speaker 25: next inning, solid. Like I said, the last inning, he
- 37:58Speaker 25: just kind of lost his It's a good command that
- 38:01Speaker 25: he had early and they took advantage of it. And
- 38:04Speaker 25: his team's got you know, some momentums and magic going
- 38:07Speaker 25: over there, and he pulled it off today. And that's
- 38:12Speaker 25: you know, that's a tough one. Pretty kid. I feel
- 38:14Speaker 25: sorry for him, but we're just out of pitching.
- 38:17Speaker 9: What do you hope the young guys, these recent call
- 38:20Speaker 9: ups took from this last month of baseball on what
- 38:22Speaker 9: they learned, well, probably as.
- 38:25Speaker 25: Much as anything, how important, every play, every bad counts.
- 38:29Speaker 25: I talk about that. I think the experience that they
- 38:33Speaker 25: had because we were playing meaningful games. Even you know
- 38:39Speaker 25: here this last series, we knew this was a big series,
- 38:43Speaker 25: you know, for us to maybe have a say and
- 38:46Speaker 25: in the division race. And but you know it's it's
- 38:50Speaker 25: a good experience for all these young kids to draw on.
- 38:52Speaker 25: And I thought they handled themselves very well.
- 38:57Speaker 1: That's for Spochy. It has been a long, hard season, frustrating, difficult,
- 39:05Speaker 1: whatever adjective you might use. If you'd told me the
- 39:10Speaker 1: Rangers would have pitched like this this year, I tell
- 39:12Speaker 1: you they're the favorites to win the World Series when
- 39:15Speaker 1: the season began, But I'd be wrong. I've lived with
- 39:20Speaker 1: this for well over fifty years now, so believe me,
- 39:26Speaker 1: nothing surprises me anymore. Well, what did surprise me? Winning
- 39:29Speaker 1: the World Series two years ago? That surprised me, but
- 39:33Speaker 1: in a very pleasant way, I might add, the Astros.
- 39:39Speaker 1: I don't really care what happens the Astros quite frankly,
- 39:44Speaker 1: doesn't matter to me. Al Tuvey did say, been playing
- 39:48Speaker 1: with I think a painful foot injury, which might explain
- 39:52Speaker 1: a lot with his production. Be interest to see what happens.
- 40:02Speaker 1: They got to get people healthy, How many of them
- 40:05Speaker 1: come back, don't come back? We'll see. Okay, that's Baseball.
- 40:09Speaker 1: The playoffs start tomorrow. If you were listening to Coach
- 40:13Speaker 1: Elko earlier, shout out to the Yankees from Coach Elko.
- 40:16Speaker 1: They play the Red Sox tomorrow. That's delicious, man. The
- 40:21Speaker 1: networks are salivating. ESPN's thrilled about that Yankees Red Sox
- 40:27Speaker 1: in the first round. I like, I kind of like
- 40:32Speaker 1: the Phillies. I kind of like the Phillies. I mean
- 40:37Speaker 1: I don't like them, don't get me wrong. I like
- 40:40Speaker 1: them to win the World Series. I hope they don't.
- 40:44Speaker 1: But honestly, I don't really care who wins the World Series.
- 40:49Speaker 1: I mean, it doesn't matter to me. I'll watch some
- 40:52Speaker 1: of the baseball playoffs. I like baseball, and it'll be
- 40:57Speaker 1: more relaxing. I will tell you that a playoff baseball,
- 41:02Speaker 1: every pitch is like nerve wracking if you're invested, right.
- 41:06Speaker 1: But I can just watch the games now and not
- 41:13Speaker 1: really care who wins or loses. Okay, we're going to
- 41:17Speaker 1: take a break. We're going to talk about something completely different.
- 41:20Speaker 1: I know you're that surprises you. We're going to talk
- 41:23Speaker 1: a little Rider Cup when we come back. Introducing for
- 41:27Speaker 1: the Fall of the Tuxans Report Brought to you by

- 42:40Speaker 11: Finally, I think after.

- 42:45Speaker 30: Houston's defense suffocated Titans rookie quarterback cam Ward all day long,
- 42:49Speaker 30: and Derek Stingley Junior came up with the game's only turnover,
- 42:52Speaker 30: an interception for the Texans defense. The Texans look to

- 45:06Speaker 1: Writers round Table coming up for in about fifteen minutes.
- 45:10Speaker 1: This weekend was the Ryder Cup in beth Page, New York.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Now that's the name of the of course. Anyway, I
- 45:20Speaker 1: usually watched quite a bit of the Ryder Cup. I
- 45:22Speaker 1: was out Friday and Saturday. Of course Saturday's ballgame, so
- 45:28Speaker 1: I didn't see any of the Ryder Cup. I read
- 45:30Speaker 1: about it. I read about the beatdown that was going on.
- 45:35Speaker 1: I read about the fact that who was a captain.
- 45:42Speaker 1: I can't think of the US captain's name. I don't
- 45:45Speaker 1: like him. I never liked him. I didn't want him
- 45:47Speaker 1: being the captain for the US team. Thank you, Keegan Bradley.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Never been a fan. And I read where he put
- 45:56Speaker 1: out the same teams the second day, or he in
- 46:00Speaker 1: the second afternoon after they'd gotten blitzed anyway, and didn't
- 46:04Speaker 1: change anything. And I also know a couple of the
- 46:10Speaker 1: guys that ended up playing yesterday. Everybody plays in the
- 46:12Speaker 1: singles got points for the United States that didn't play
- 46:16Speaker 1: at all on Friday or Saturday. So anyway, be that
- 46:20Speaker 1: as it may, I'm not necessarily blaming me the captain.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Europe just owns the Ryder Cup. It means more to them.
- 46:28Speaker 1: They're more cohesive as a team. They have got this
- 46:31Speaker 1: Ryder Cup thing down. They know what it takes. It
- 46:35Speaker 1: doesn't matter where they play. They have better players. I
- 46:40Speaker 1: have maintained for decades that these US people are spoiled.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Tiger was never good at Ryder Cup except in the singles.
- 46:51Speaker 1: He didn't like relying on other people. He wasn't a
- 46:53Speaker 1: team player, didn't like playing with anybody else. He wanted
- 46:56Speaker 1: to be in control of his fate. So you know,
- 47:03Speaker 1: Scheffler was terrible. He got one point, lost three points
- 47:09Speaker 1: I think three other matches. Right, he was terrible, and
- 47:15Speaker 1: he was the best player in the world. Apparently on
- 47:18Speaker 1: Saturday they didn't play badly. The other team just played
- 47:22Speaker 1: lights out of which you know that can happen. And
- 47:27Speaker 1: apparently there were, as we mentioned in early in the
- 47:30Speaker 1: first hour, lots of drunk and profane fans. Hey it's
- 47:36Speaker 1: New York. I don't know what you expect that it's
- 47:38Speaker 1: New York. So the Europeans that just played right through
- 47:46Speaker 1: it US made it interesting yesterday. I did watch yesterday
- 47:50Speaker 1: and it's pretty cool the US. At one point you're going, nah,
- 47:55Speaker 1: this can't happen. It almost happened. Luke Donald has won
- 48:00Speaker 1: for the second time. Here is Luke Donald and Rory McElroy.
- 48:05Speaker 1: After the Ryder Cup win yesterday.
- 48:10Speaker 33: You know you're up dominated the last decade. You guys
- 48:12Speaker 33: are in a position to do that again this decade.
- 48:14Speaker 33: The sort of key connector between those eras is Rory.
- 48:17Speaker 33: What does he mean to this team?
- 48:18Speaker 1: Not just you guys told us we wouldn't win on
- 48:20Speaker 1: for twenty years though?
- 48:21Speaker 34: What about that Zach Carret, dominants, Allen I failed a
- 48:25Speaker 34: factor in the captains and what a big difference they make.
- 48:29Speaker 33: But what does Rory mean to you guys? You know,
- 48:31Speaker 33: not just his play, but his leadership and his confidence
- 48:35Speaker 33: and all that intangible.
- 48:40Speaker 35: Look you need you need your your big players to
- 48:43Speaker 35: step up, you know, looking at Rome big to his
- 48:51Speaker 35: FedEx Cup champ, we had Rory, We had John bed
- 48:54Speaker 35: ten and a half points without playing together once in
- 48:58Speaker 35: Rome this week you know Rory's won four our five,
- 49:01Speaker 35: John three three, are five. You know, you argue Tommy,
- 49:09Speaker 35: maybe you know four our five. You absolutely need your
- 49:15Speaker 35: your your big guns to fire, you know. And I
- 49:19Speaker 35: think that's what we're proud of, is the the US guys,
- 49:26Speaker 35: big guys, you know, the guns they you know, they
- 49:29Speaker 35: they didn't get as many points as ours. And m
- 49:37Speaker 35: Rory has made no qualms about how important the Ryder
- 49:42Speaker 35: Cup is to him, and I think that's inspiring to me.
- 49:47Speaker 35: It's inspiring to his team. You know, maybe not quite
- 49:53Speaker 35: on the same level as winning the Grand Slam and
- 49:55Speaker 35: the Masters, but it's it's pretty effing close. Is He's
- 50:01Speaker 35: talked to me about it many times about how he
- 50:04Speaker 35: wants to win an away ride a Cup and how
- 50:06Speaker 35: difficult that is. So to have someone how good is
- 50:09Speaker 35: you know, if Rory's caliber fighting so hard, that's inspiring
- 50:15Speaker 35: for the team and you know, see we can't do
- 50:19Speaker 35: it alone, but it's very helpful when you know someone
- 50:22Speaker 35: like Rory's contributing is like he does.
- 50:26Speaker 33: I mean just related to that. When we talk about
- 50:28Speaker 33: the player's place and history, it's always individual achievements. But
- 50:32Speaker 33: if Rory wins eight or nine Ryder Cups, if he
- 50:34Speaker 33: goes on to be the leading point earner, like, how
- 50:37Speaker 33: does that elevate him in the conversation.
- 50:42Speaker 35: Write a cup? Weeks are the best weeks of our lives.
- 50:44Speaker 35: We talk about this all the time. You know, those
- 50:47Speaker 35: individual accolades are are fun. We want to we individually
- 50:52Speaker 35: where we want to achieve as much as we can.
- 50:58Speaker 35: Rory's achieved so much in the game, you know, his
- 51:03Speaker 35: place in the history is set. But I think those
- 51:08Speaker 35: weeks we spend together are the ones we remember the
- 51:13Speaker 35: most and we cherish the most because of the times
- 51:16Speaker 35: we get to spend with each other. Now, that's a
- 51:19Speaker 35: big part of my captaincy is to create an environment
- 51:22Speaker 35: where these guys having the best weeks of their lives. Honestly,
- 51:28Speaker 35: you know you will always remember this. We'll always go
- 51:31Speaker 35: down in history. We talk about all the people that
- 51:34Speaker 35: came before us, that paved the way for us. Now
- 51:39Speaker 35: future generations will talk about this team tonight and what
- 51:43Speaker 35: they did and how they were able to overcome one
- 51:46Speaker 35: of the toughest environments in all the sport. And that
- 51:51Speaker 35: is inspiring to me. And that's what Rory gets, and
- 51:56Speaker 35: all these other eleven guys get as well.
- 52:00Speaker 11: Up to thirteen.
- 52:02Speaker 15: Rory, sorry here, how how sustainable for the game of golf.
- 52:09Speaker 15: Is the level of abuse that you and others I
- 52:12Speaker 15: know but received.
- 52:16Speaker 11: Received this weekend.
- 52:17Speaker 15: I mean, is it something that you just have to
- 52:19Speaker 15: accept or is it something that's taking the game in
- 52:22Speaker 15: a dangerous direction.
- 52:24Speaker 34: No, I like, I don't think we should ever accept
- 52:27Speaker 34: that in golf. I think golf should be held a
- 52:34Speaker 34: higher standard than what was you know, than what was
- 52:39Speaker 34: seen right there this week. Golf has the ability to
- 52:44Speaker 34: unite people. Golf teaches you very good life lessons. It
- 52:48Speaker 34: teaches you etiquette, It teaches you how to play by
- 52:50Speaker 34: the rules, It teaches you how to respect people, and
- 52:55Speaker 34: you know, sometimes this week we didn't see that. So no,
- 53:00Speaker 34: this should not be what is acceptable in the Ryder Cup.
- 53:04Speaker 34: But you know, we will be making sure to say
- 53:07Speaker 34: to our fans in Ireland in twenty twenty seven that
- 53:10Speaker 34: you know, what happened here this week is not acceptable,
- 53:14Speaker 34: and it's you know.
- 53:16Speaker 20: For me, it's.
- 53:19Speaker 34: You know, come and support your home team, you know,
- 53:21Speaker 34: come and support your team.
- 53:23Speaker 11: You know.
- 53:23Speaker 34: I think if I was an American I would be
- 53:26Speaker 34: annoyed that people. I didn't hear a lot of shots
- 53:29Speaker 34: for Scotty today, but I heard a lot of shots
- 53:31Speaker 34: against me, and it's like support your players, you know,
- 53:34Speaker 34: that's the that's the thing. So look, it was a
- 53:39Speaker 34: rough week for all of us. But at the same time,
- 53:43Speaker 34: you know, we we shut them up by our performance
- 53:46Speaker 34: and how we played, and we tried to you know,
- 53:49Speaker 34: I chirped back a few times because it caught to
- 53:51Speaker 34: me a few times, but we tried to handle everything
- 53:55Speaker 34: that came.
- 53:55Speaker 11: Our way.
- 53:57Speaker 34: With class and poise on for the most part, I
- 54:00Speaker 34: felt like we did.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Not that's rory. And hey, they shut them up. There's
- 54:07Speaker 1: no doubt about that. They were better. And as Luke
- 54:11Speaker 1: Donald said, your best players they have to be your
- 54:14Speaker 1: best and they and us one, like I said, Scheffer
- 54:17Speaker 1: was terrible. Bryce and d Chambeau had a losing record.
- 54:22Speaker 1: The two best players on the team. I think they
- 54:25Speaker 1: got one and a half points total. Okay, the two
- 54:29Speaker 1: best players. Let me repeat that, the two best players
- 54:32Speaker 1: on the team got one and a half points. US
- 54:35Speaker 1: lost by two points. They get one and a half
- 54:38Speaker 1: more points the US wins, and they didn't do that.
- 54:41Speaker 1: So two more years to wait, and then it goes
- 54:46Speaker 1: somewhere they play, Oh they're going to Ireland, and you
- 54:50Speaker 1: don't think they'll be drunk fans in Ireland just say it.
- 54:56Speaker 1: I'm not stereotyping anybody here. You understand I've never been.
- 55:01Speaker 1: I'm just told they like their beer in Ireland, but
- 55:04Speaker 1: I wouldn't know. Oliver Brothers Transmission has been part of
