- 18:08Speaker 6: like Madi Dixit This song Dola with her great performance
- 18:13Speaker 6: and great choreography with Ashwarya Rai on that song certainly
- 18:19Speaker 6: one of the big legendary moments and all of Indian cinema. Indeed,
- 18:24Speaker 6: we're looking forward to talking to Madie Dixon about her
- 18:27Speaker 6: starring role as playing Ricca, an incredibly complex character. Indeed,
- 18:33Speaker 6: can't wait, God.

- 21:33Speaker 6: Madori Dixit will be joining us at the end of
- 21:36Speaker 6: this one. She'll talk to us about her brand new
- 21:40Speaker 6: film called ma Behen. This song is called Ajam, produced
- 21:45Speaker 6: by Selima and Salimon. One of the biggest songs that
- 21:49Speaker 6: Madrii Dixit has ever performed to stand by.

- 25:59Speaker 2: Come on?
- 26:15Speaker 6: The song is called and folks, it is my distinct
- 26:21Speaker 6: honor to invite into the show. The cast of the
- 26:25Speaker 6: film mob Hen, including Madori, Dixit, Darna Dorga and director
- 26:31Speaker 6: s Restvenni Folks. First of all, congratulations on an incredible
- 26:36Speaker 6: achievement of hitting that finished line on yet another film
- 26:40Speaker 6: and you just put it out on Netflix here just
- 26:43Speaker 6: several days ago. My first question, MADRII G if you
- 26:47Speaker 6: don't mind, I'd like to turn my attention to you.
- 26:50Speaker 6: What an incredible performance? What an incredible character? Uh, someone
- 26:55Speaker 6: that is very mysterious and never is quite forgiving in
- 27:01Speaker 6: eany anything that she is accused of. Tell us about
- 27:05Speaker 6: this character and tell us what really attracted you to her?
- 27:09Speaker 23: Well, a lot of things.
- 27:12Speaker 24: First of all, you know, in typical Hindi movies, the
- 27:17Speaker 24: mother is always revered. You know, she's put on a pedestal,
- 27:20Speaker 24: she can do no wrong. She's not like the typical
- 27:23Speaker 24: Hindi movie mother.
- 27:25Speaker 23: She yeah, she is not. I mean.
- 27:29Speaker 24: Usually in Hindi films, her mother always puts all her
- 27:33Speaker 24: kids before her. She will sacrifice for them, she will
- 27:38Speaker 24: you know, serve them food before eating. And you know
- 27:42Speaker 24: those kind of very idealistic kind of mothers that they've
- 27:48Speaker 24: always shown on in the Hindi films.
- 27:51Speaker 23: But this was like completely opposite of that.
- 27:54Speaker 6: She is.
- 27:55Speaker 24: She's crazy, she's chaotic, She she makes up, she makes
- 27:58Speaker 24: bad decisions, and she pulls her both her daughters into
- 28:03Speaker 24: her chaos, you know, and what unfolds after that.
- 28:06Speaker 23: She does not.
- 28:09Speaker 24: Stick to societal norm she does not conform to it,
- 28:12Speaker 24: so people don't know who she is.
- 28:13Speaker 22: You know, she's.
- 28:14Speaker 24: Mysterious and that's why there's so many rumors about her.
- 28:17Speaker 24: And she's a single mother, and so people look at
- 28:20Speaker 24: her differently. And I thought these were all aspects we've
- 28:23Speaker 24: seen in society, experienced it, and I feel, you know,
- 28:28Speaker 24: for me to play this character was amazing because she's
- 28:32Speaker 24: so relatable, right, you know in her chaos, yes.
- 28:36Speaker 6: Yes, as chaotic as she was very relatable, but there's
- 28:39Speaker 6: something really mysterious. Like I mentioned to you that you
- 28:42Speaker 6: never get your arms around exactly what it is that
- 28:45Speaker 6: she does and who she is. There's so many innuendos
- 28:48Speaker 6: to the effect. But yeah, it's a fascinating character. Let's
- 28:53Speaker 6: turn our attention to mister Surrechtraveni, who is the director
- 28:58Speaker 6: of the film and of course the man who imagines
- 29:01Speaker 6: this character and then finds the one. Maderi dixi G
- 29:06Speaker 6: to come portray this. Could you have imagined this to
- 29:11Speaker 6: go any better? I mean, this is quite an amazing
- 29:14Speaker 6: accomplishment of putting this wild character together with with a
- 29:19Speaker 6: screen legend.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I think that they.
- 29:23Speaker 25: Madri Maam agreed to do this. I think it already
- 29:26Speaker 25: elevated because it was a dream come true for me.
- 29:31Speaker 25: We always thought that, I mean both me and my
- 29:33Speaker 25: writer we always wanted Rick Har to be played by her,
- 29:38Speaker 25: and luckily that happened. As a filmmaker, you are, I mean,
- 29:43Speaker 25: I think you're constantly wanting to up your game, and
- 29:47Speaker 25: I don't think so at any particular point you can
- 29:49Speaker 25: constantly say.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Yeah, we've done it. But I hope because for me,
- 29:52Speaker 1: after watching it so many times, you lose your objectivity. Sure,
- 29:55Speaker 1: but I hope.
- 29:56Speaker 25: It's a great experience to watch a character like her
- 29:59Speaker 25: and watch MD play that role like the way she
- 30:02Speaker 25: has done that.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I mean, she has got.
- 30:05Speaker 25: Unhinged and she's given it all right, And for me,
- 30:10Speaker 25: that's like already lifting my character.
- 30:12Speaker 6: That's really interesting because you know, you get the feeling
- 30:15Speaker 6: that somebody like MADRII G has you know, has done
- 30:20Speaker 6: it all. You know, you've seen the bookends of of
- 30:23Speaker 6: what she what you would portray, but in comes this
- 30:26Speaker 6: really interesting character that really stretches her imagination into a
- 30:31Speaker 6: new place. And Madigi, if you don't mind me asking
- 30:35Speaker 6: you and turning my attention to you here again? You know,
- 30:40Speaker 6: how was that on set? You know, you're you're playing
- 30:42Speaker 6: this character. It's a very interesting person. The cameras are
- 30:46Speaker 6: rolling and of course you're there, and then the cameras
- 30:49Speaker 6: turn off and this chemistry kind of continues. There's this
- 30:53Speaker 6: kind of vibe. You have so many interesting kind of
- 30:56Speaker 6: actors there. How was that? How did you kind of
- 31:00Speaker 6: maintained that vibe if you will around around Rica?
- 31:05Speaker 24: Well, I think because I understood the character. I understood
- 31:10Speaker 24: her chaos. I enjoyed her chaos, and I saw the
- 31:15Speaker 24: humor in it, and I saw the humanity and her
- 31:19Speaker 24: you know, chaos, and that's what helped. And of course
- 31:22Speaker 24: Sash is someone I had always wanted to work with
- 31:26Speaker 24: ever since I had seen them Mari Sulu, because I
- 31:28Speaker 24: thought the way he picturized women and the way he
- 31:34Speaker 24: thought about women was very very different, you know, and
- 31:38Speaker 24: it was something in my you know, realm the women
- 31:42Speaker 24: that he portrayed, and so so I was always wanting
- 31:46Speaker 24: to work with him, and when these two things came
- 31:49Speaker 24: together where he was directing and I was acting in it,
- 31:53Speaker 24: I think it just became amazing for me, Like we
- 31:56Speaker 24: just jelled and we saw the cat actually in the
- 32:00Speaker 24: same way, and and that's what made it happen.
- 32:05Speaker 6: Yeah, Darna, here's an opportunity for you to work with
- 32:09Speaker 6: some amazing people on a set and first of all,
- 32:15Speaker 6: your your work, your character that you play here working
- 32:19Speaker 6: opposite Tripty, I think the chemistry is just awesome. The
- 32:22Speaker 6: sibling rivalry is a real thing that you guys both
- 32:25Speaker 6: portray so well. Tell us about that role and tell
- 32:29Speaker 6: us about the chemistry that you have with Ripley and
- 32:32Speaker 6: this whole sibling rivalry that you play.
- 32:34Speaker 19: It was natural for us also because we were the
- 32:37Speaker 19: same offset teasing each other, making fun of each other,
- 32:41Speaker 19: So it was so natural for us to just act
- 32:44Speaker 19: it on camera, right. So, yeah, we're very comfortable with
- 32:47Speaker 19: each other. We are from the same college. Apparently there
- 32:50Speaker 19: was such a coincidence for both of us. We're from Relli,
- 32:53Speaker 19: so there's there are a lot of things that we
- 32:55Speaker 19: relate to and the same siblings born that we had key,
- 32:59Speaker 19: you know, while doing this.
- 33:01Speaker 23: We used to remember.
- 33:03Speaker 19: All of that, so I think we could relate, We
- 33:07Speaker 19: could understand, and we could feel this scene, this this
- 33:11Speaker 19: kios that was happening between us and that that is
- 33:14Speaker 19: why it was so natural for us.
- 33:16Speaker 23: And I'm glad it's coming home.
- 33:19Speaker 6: I saw it. Yes, it was very palpable, very very palpable, Darnette.
- 33:24Speaker 6: The two of you guys did a great job there,
- 33:26Speaker 6: for sure. I was going to bring up something I
- 33:29Speaker 6: saw something reoccurring in the film, and that was the
- 33:32Speaker 6: snakes and Ladder game. I had a question, did you
- 33:35Speaker 6: guys ever play snakes and ladders in between shots? And
- 33:39Speaker 6: if so, who won the games? Here? Madit can you
- 33:45Speaker 6: please speak on this level?
- 33:47Speaker 23: I think we played all kinds of games on the set.
- 33:50Speaker 24: It was from Antaccheri to singing songs and just being
- 33:55Speaker 24: crazy to you know, stealing stuff from the set.
- 33:58Speaker 23: We can did it all. Yeah, yeah, sorry sorry, please yeah,
- 34:05Speaker 23: please go ahead.
- 34:06Speaker 25: No, I have to add something because the snake and
- 34:09Speaker 25: ladder was only in the flashback, which is actually when
- 34:12Speaker 25: Madrim and the right young kids, but during the workshop
- 34:17Speaker 25: and me we saw the three of them because in
- 34:19Speaker 25: the workshop, one of the excises work three of them
- 34:21Speaker 25: were playing, and that was I have a still of that,
- 34:24Speaker 25: and that was one of the most peaceful moments that
- 34:26Speaker 25: I saw. And we decided that we have to bring
- 34:29Speaker 25: it in the present day, and that's why it happens
- 34:33Speaker 25: in the same place, in the same bed wherever they So,
- 34:37Speaker 25: I mean.
- 34:38Speaker 1: It was very hard. I mean getting goosebumps thinking about it.
- 34:40Speaker 1: What an interesting question.
- 34:41Speaker 6: Thank you, mister Trevenni. I had another question for you, sir,
- 34:46Speaker 6: while we're on this, while we're in this area, and
- 34:49Speaker 6: that is that you know, you you you have a
- 34:51Speaker 6: title like Ma Behan pretty tongue in cheek. You know,
- 34:56Speaker 6: it has all kinds of implications and undertones to the title.
- 35:01Speaker 6: At what point did you look at the title of
- 35:02Speaker 6: the film and saying, yeah, this is it.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Yeah, So I believe that. I think the moment.
- 35:08Speaker 25: You might not remember sometimes the story of a film,
- 35:10Speaker 25: but you'd always remember the name.
- 35:12Speaker 1: And I think the name of a movie really matters.
- 35:16Speaker 25: Maybe it's my advertising background, because when I started first
- 35:22Speaker 25: ide eating about it, this was one of the title
- 35:25Speaker 25: came first to me. I wanted to do a story
- 35:28Speaker 25: of a wrecked family, of a wrecked mother and two
- 35:32Speaker 25: rec daughters, so there was no the I.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Found that this title would be very appropriate mar Behen.
- 35:38Speaker 25: There was another alternate title called luctionhon Atiutam, but we
- 35:43Speaker 25: felt that nothing better than this. It just adds on
- 35:46Speaker 25: to it, and also it kind of summarizes if you
- 35:48Speaker 25: see the film, it ends, it ends with a mar Behen.
- 35:52Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying coming in the contract world, right?
- 35:55Speaker 25: And I think so Apart from being cheeky and all
- 35:57Speaker 25: of that, yes, but I was also very conscious along
- 36:01Speaker 25: with my writer that uh, we're not it's not a
- 36:03Speaker 25: gimmick and we're very responsible as to why we choose
- 36:06Speaker 25: this particular tyit.
- 36:08Speaker 6: Right, Thank you. You know, Darna wanted to turn my
- 36:12Speaker 6: attention towards you. You play Sushma, who's a very interesting character,
- 36:17Speaker 6: very confident, kind of holds the accountability over the family,
- 36:24Speaker 6: no nonsense. If you will, how much of your personality
- 36:30Speaker 6: is in Sushma, how much of Darna is in Sushma?
- 36:35Speaker 6: And tell us about that, tell us about you know,
- 36:38Speaker 6: your portrayal here. It's really well done, thank you.
- 36:42Speaker 19: There were certain things where I could relate with Sushma, definitely,
- 36:46Speaker 19: where I could feel the pain that she must be
- 36:49Speaker 19: going through, the anger that she must be going through
- 36:53Speaker 19: eqs me. You know why she's like skator seeing you
- 36:58Speaker 19: must have seen, yes, so I could feel all of
- 37:01Speaker 19: that emotions definitely. But there was some things about Sushma
- 37:07Speaker 19: that I feel I could have the confidence the you know,
- 37:13Speaker 19: she's so expressive and she's confused.
- 37:16Speaker 23: That's me. That's definitely weak. But there are a lot
- 37:21Speaker 23: of things that I learned from Sushma. I just love Sushma.
- 37:24Speaker 23: She is just real.
- 37:26Speaker 19: She's out there, she's expressive, she's emotional, she's confused.
- 37:29Speaker 23: She's chaotic, she's everything.
- 37:32Speaker 19: But yeah, definitely that one scene, I will say that
- 37:35Speaker 19: I could relate to her and I could feel the pain.
- 37:38Speaker 23: So yeah, that was it that I could relate to her.
- 37:41Speaker 6: Yeah, Madriji, I had a question for you. You're pulling
- 37:46Speaker 6: off this character in a brand new Netflix world. You know,
- 37:52Speaker 6: I get the impression that this platform gives you some
- 37:56Speaker 6: room to experiment. Yes, tell us about that.
- 38:01Speaker 24: I think it allows you to take chances because you're
- 38:04Speaker 24: not bogged down by, you know, the commercial aspect of
- 38:08Speaker 24: making the film in the sense will it make the
- 38:11Speaker 24: money in the theaters? Will it do this, will it
- 38:14Speaker 24: do that? So there are no pressures when you make
- 38:16Speaker 24: this kind of a movie. Even for the filmmakers. I
- 38:21Speaker 24: think they can you know, write the script they want,
- 38:26Speaker 24: portray the characters that they want to, and create a
- 38:30Speaker 24: film a world in which people can walk into and experience,
- 38:35Speaker 24: you know. And I think it's it's possible because of Netflix.
- 38:40Speaker 24: It's you know, it has democratized filmmaking basically, and you know,
- 38:45Speaker 24: filmmakers can tell their stories in their language in the
- 38:50Speaker 24: way they want to picturize it.
- 38:52Speaker 23: And also, you know, it has become.
- 38:56Speaker 24: You know, a great place to discover talent as well,
- 39:00Speaker 24: because there's so much talent that has come into the
- 39:03Speaker 24: industry through OTT. And I think Dharna is a great
- 39:08Speaker 24: example of digital you know, uh, digitally discovering talent. And
- 39:13Speaker 24: she's amazing in the movie So stripty. And I think
- 39:16Speaker 24: we all came together and the camaraderie that we formed.
- 39:19Speaker 24: I think you can see the chemistry on screen between
- 39:23Speaker 24: three of us. So I think it has definitely helped
- 39:27Speaker 24: filmmakers to make films totally free of you know, any
- 39:34Speaker 24: kind of pressures.
- 39:36Speaker 6: Yeah, Madriti is there. You know, do you have a
- 39:40Speaker 6: lot of feed did you have a lot of feedback
- 39:43Speaker 6: on the character as you're going through the filming and
- 39:46Speaker 6: whether moments there where you said, you know, I see
- 39:49Speaker 6: Rica doing this, so I see Rica doing that. We
- 39:51Speaker 6: are moments like that.
- 39:53Speaker 24: Yeah, I mean there are moments you you know, you
- 39:57Speaker 24: you feel maybe I should do it this way, or
- 39:59Speaker 24: maybe I should do it that way. There's spontaneity you
- 40:02Speaker 24: improvise on this set sometimes, so all that is there,
- 40:06Speaker 24: but you know, when you are the captain of the
- 40:08Speaker 24: ship is so strong.
- 40:11Speaker 23: He is amazing.
- 40:12Speaker 24: He's visualized these characters and you know, he knows all
- 40:17Speaker 24: of them in and out. And I have to tell
- 40:19Speaker 24: you that he himself is such a good actor that
- 40:23Speaker 24: when he had narrated this script to us, it kind
- 40:26Speaker 24: of played a bar on what your performance level has
- 40:30Speaker 24: to be. And we all like, we just understood our
- 40:34Speaker 24: characters when he performed them the way he did, and
- 40:38Speaker 24: the rest was so easy, you know, when all of
- 40:40Speaker 24: us got together and it was just just.
- 40:42Speaker 23: The chemistry, the amazing, the craziness that happened on the set.
- 40:47Speaker 24: So it all kind of helped to create these characters
- 40:50Speaker 24: and the performances.
- 40:51Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, on that level. You know, to mister
- 40:55Speaker 6: Tavani's credit, I think that he did an amazing job
- 40:59Speaker 6: of maintain gaining that kind of energy and that vibe
- 41:02Speaker 6: on the set. I'll tell you why. I could see it.
- 41:05Speaker 6: There were moments in the in the film where there
- 41:07Speaker 6: were reactions that were made by the cast, and they
- 41:10Speaker 6: came across so convincing, and my my feeling is that
- 41:14Speaker 6: that could have only been achieved, that there was true
- 41:16Speaker 6: chemistry on the set. And I guess my question is,
- 41:20Speaker 6: mister Trevenni, to your to you, you know, how was that?
- 41:24Speaker 6: How was it managing that and maintaining this kind of
- 41:28Speaker 6: north star in a film? It's clearly different, but you're
- 41:30Speaker 6: you have to sell everybody on it, and you have
- 41:32Speaker 6: to say, hey, go with me on this. You know,
- 41:34Speaker 6: how'd that work?
- 41:35Speaker 25: I believe that every one in the film, every participant
- 41:40Speaker 25: in the film is a stakeholder, and I feel that
- 41:42Speaker 25: after a particular part I can sound intelligent, but my
- 41:44Speaker 25: I think the only thing that I believe is that.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Once you take onus of your off your job.
- 41:53Speaker 25: But there as an actor over there, as a technician
- 41:56Speaker 25: over here, the three of them, we knew that they're
- 42:00Speaker 25: very intelligent people.
- 42:01Speaker 1: They knew that this won't work if this is fake.
- 42:05Speaker 25: So what we did was we pretended to go to
- 42:08Speaker 25: a workshop and where we just spend some time, and
- 42:12Speaker 25: the three of them, I'm.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Very very intelligent people.
- 42:15Speaker 25: They realize that unless we surrender to the cause of
- 42:19Speaker 25: the character, and unless we don't bring anyone else but.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Just the characters in the room. And I have to
- 42:26Speaker 1: give all the credit.
- 42:28Speaker 25: I know that she's now a board of appreciations, but
- 42:32Speaker 25: I have to give all the credit to the Madi
- 42:35Speaker 25: addiction because she made it all very comfortable. What do
- 42:39Speaker 25: you say when you walk into a room where she's sitting, Okay,
- 42:44Speaker 25: you have to clear your throat. I mean like you
- 42:47Speaker 25: need to be a little responsible about it. So I
- 42:49Speaker 25: think she took over very silently, without making a big tea.
- 42:53Speaker 1: And she was the one.
- 42:54Speaker 25: There were very many times while the performances were happening
- 42:57Speaker 25: she was a not stuff for my other two actors,
- 43:00Speaker 25: Beat Dhara, beat Trip Thick. And those are the silent ones,
- 43:03Speaker 25: not the loud ones that hey, listen to me, I'm
- 43:05Speaker 25: in the room. There will be the small notes. She
- 43:06Speaker 25: will even tell me that and in a very silent manner,
- 43:09Speaker 25: get very clearly. Remember it will just be She'll just
- 43:12Speaker 25: be you know what I think. So it's not like suraish.
- 43:14Speaker 1: I want to know. It's always those notes which made
- 43:18Speaker 1: a big, big difference and rest. I think once you
- 43:22Speaker 1: have a good atmosphere.
- 43:24Speaker 25: When you want to make a memory out of fortyven days,
- 43:27Speaker 25: I think everyone's greedy for being happy in life, right,
- 43:31Speaker 25: So I think it all follows.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Sorry, my reply was too long.
- 43:34Speaker 6: No no, no, it was great. It was gold. That
- 43:36Speaker 6: was excellent. Thank you, Thank you for sharing that. By
- 43:38Speaker 6: the way, Thank you so much. Darna. Do you ever
- 43:42Speaker 6: pinch yourself and say, you know, I'm sharing a screen
- 43:47Speaker 6: with a legend here? You know, at what point does
- 43:49Speaker 6: it hit you?
- 43:50Speaker 19: This feeling is going to remain every time I'm going
- 43:53Speaker 19: to watch my movie on Netflix? So too, right, live,
- 43:57Speaker 19: So I did this, Really.
- 44:00Speaker 23: It's still the same. I can't process that feeling. I
- 44:04Speaker 23: don't think Sila will be able to.
- 44:06Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, I must imagine that there's probably a
- 44:10Speaker 6: lifetime of knowledge and just anecdote that you pick up
- 44:14Speaker 6: from working with somebody like a Madriji on set there.
- 44:18Speaker 6: So I'm sure that that's a lifetime experience that you'll
- 44:21Speaker 6: enjoy and certainly cove it for the rest of your life. So,
- 44:24Speaker 6: you know, I had a question for you Madriji. This
- 44:27Speaker 6: being a film that just came out here several days ago,
- 44:32Speaker 6: was in front of the whole world to see when
- 44:35Speaker 6: it comes to Netflix. You know, everybody that goes to
- 44:37Speaker 6: their Netflix homepages this last weekend saw the film right there.
- 44:42Speaker 6: An entire world. You know, the Indian cinema world is
- 44:45Speaker 6: enjoying a moment here. Tell us about what you think.
- 44:50Speaker 23: I think engine cinema is going through amazing moments.
- 44:55Speaker 24: Right now and has been you know, from such a
- 45:01Speaker 24: his films too. You know, there was a period when
- 45:05Speaker 24: Hindi cinema then became very uh uh India centric, and
- 45:09Speaker 24: then suddenly it exploded with theaters everywhere, and you know,
- 45:14Speaker 24: it gave it a new lease of life and people
- 45:16Speaker 24: started watching again films like Dave Das you know who
- 45:20Speaker 24: made it to Cohns and now so many other.
- 45:23Speaker 23: Films to follow.
- 45:24Speaker 24: And I think it's it's it's a great moment for
- 45:27Speaker 24: Indian cinema because of also Ott and you know Netflix,
- 45:32Speaker 24: where it reaches to like I don't know, one hundred
- 45:35Speaker 24: and ninety six countries or something, and it's going to
- 45:38Speaker 24: be dubbed in twelve different languages or a wide audience.
- 45:43Speaker 23: You know, and the characters are relatable.
- 45:47Speaker 24: Uh, you know, cultures might be different, but the emotions
- 45:50Speaker 24: are always the same everywhere. And when you watch, you know,
- 45:54Speaker 24: different films from different languages, like say a Spanish movie
- 45:58Speaker 24: or the k drama, the basic emotions are the same,
- 46:02Speaker 24: but you also get to see a different culture. The
- 46:05Speaker 24: cultural context changes and so it becomes fascinating. And I
- 46:10Speaker 24: think the same goes for our Indian cinema, where it's
- 46:13Speaker 24: so steeped in culture and yet the emotions are going
- 46:17Speaker 24: to be the same.
- 46:18Speaker 20: You know.
- 46:18Speaker 23: It's like the Big Bad Greek Wedding.
- 46:20Speaker 24: You know, Rich kind of touched on it everywhere and
- 46:25Speaker 24: people loved it, you know, so we're hoping the same
- 46:27Speaker 24: for this film.
- 46:28Speaker 6: Yeah, thank you, Thank you so much for sharing that.
- 46:32Speaker 6: You know that the ladies carry this film to me,
- 46:35Speaker 6: the three leading ladies, they really did, and to me,
- 46:39Speaker 6: what a great moment for us to be telling the
- 46:42Speaker 6: stories from this kind of perspective. And I think Madri
- 46:45Speaker 6: you touched on it earlier when you said that you
- 46:48Speaker 6: really enjoyed the way mister Trevenni goes about picturizing women,
- 46:53Speaker 6: and in this case he certainly hits another home run
- 46:56Speaker 6: here and mister Travennie, I turned the attention towards you.
- 47:00Speaker 6: Hear on this matter. You know, tell us about this.
- 47:05Speaker 6: You know you get the feeling that a character like
- 47:07Speaker 6: Rica a number of years ago doesn't get to fly
- 47:11Speaker 6: like it does here. And here you are with three
- 47:15Speaker 6: women leading the film. You know, this is a good
- 47:19Speaker 6: time to be telling stories.
- 47:21Speaker 1: You're true and what's happening. It's high time that I
- 47:24Speaker 1: think we start.
- 47:26Speaker 25: Of course, we want representation, we want more women in characters,
- 47:29Speaker 25: but now I think they should come out of their
- 47:31Speaker 25: actors first, then the gender. Okay, what I'm loving about
- 47:36Speaker 25: this face is the hunger that I see in actors
- 47:42Speaker 25: who are women the fire because they have been I
- 47:47Speaker 25: mean a talent like MADERI. I mean, we've been around
- 47:51Speaker 25: and proving us again and again and again, and there's
- 47:54Speaker 25: so much more left. It's incredible. So I feel that
- 47:58Speaker 25: we're in a great time. I think that's where platforms
- 48:01Speaker 25: like Netflix comes into the picture, where they allow us
- 48:03Speaker 25: to express and I think till the time we don't
- 48:05Speaker 25: get aware of it, and we don't fake it and
- 48:08Speaker 25: just have women as protagonists and do nothing with them
- 48:11Speaker 25: that could be like a wrong service. I feel that
- 48:14Speaker 25: there are so many untold stories waiting to be told.
- 48:17Speaker 25: I hope this leads the path.
- 48:19Speaker 6: Yeah, thank you, thank you for that, mister Trevenni Madri.
- 48:24Speaker 6: Guh you know you're you're You've taken on this very
- 48:27Speaker 6: different role here. We've talked about it quite a bit here,
- 48:30Speaker 6: this new dark comedy kind of thing. Could this could
- 48:36Speaker 6: this be something new? Could this be another angle in
- 48:39Speaker 6: your in your work? Yes?
- 48:41Speaker 24: Absolutely, And I'm so glad that we have writers who
- 48:45Speaker 24: are writing these kind of roles, we had directors who
- 48:49Speaker 24: are wanting.
- 48:50Speaker 23: To make these kind of films.
- 48:51Speaker 24: And for women in cinema, it's amazing, it's an amazing
- 48:55Speaker 24: uh uh you know, uh change because uh, like I said,
- 49:00Speaker 24: Ott has also created the space for women where the
- 49:05Speaker 24: stories are told through the eyes of the women, you know,
- 49:08Speaker 24: and stories are told where the woman is the main
- 49:12Speaker 24: you know character and everything revolves around them, and such
- 49:18Speaker 24: wonderful stories coming there. And you know, this world is
- 49:21Speaker 24: like how many stories must be there, you know, even
- 49:25Speaker 24: in India and from every corner because you cross the
- 49:30Speaker 24: state line and everything changes, the culture changes, the experiences changes,
- 49:35Speaker 24: and everything for changes, and there's so many stories, you know,
- 49:39Speaker 24: waiting to be told, Like Sah said from India itself,
- 49:42Speaker 24: and I'm so glad that we have writers and directors
- 49:47Speaker 24: who are headed in that direction and creating you know,
- 49:51Speaker 24: these spaces for women, uh, you know, to own and
- 49:57Speaker 24: go ahead with.
- 49:58Speaker 25: Yeah.
- 49:58Speaker 6: Well, congratulations on film. Thank you and wishing you all

- 53:02Speaker 6: The song is called Yeah Gussie Rod. It's from the
- 53:05Speaker 6: mob a Hen soundtrack. The film is out now on Netflix.
- 53:10Speaker 6: And yeah, how about that. I got a great conversation
- 53:14Speaker 6: there with Darna Doorga s Restvenni and of course the
- 53:19Speaker 6: legend Madrii Dixit. Great conversation there, and this song right
- 53:26Speaker 6: here is called Duck Duck reloaded. And after this song,
- 53:30Speaker 6: I'll be back with my closing remarks on the show.
- 53:33Speaker 5: Can't wait.
- 53:41Speaker 8: Many Bunny.

- 54:56Speaker 8: But then the berry Berry.
- 54:59Speaker 23: One, he's not.
- 55:38Speaker 6: Dock reloaded. It's from the mob Hen' soundtrack. And I've
- 55:43Speaker 6: played all the major songs, actually all the songs in
- 55:45Speaker 6: the soundtrack today and there you go, folks. Episode five
- 55:51Speaker 6: hundred and fifty in the bag. And I started the
- 55:54Speaker 6: bridge because nobody was giving South Asian music and culture
- 55:58Speaker 6: the room it deserved. I'll tell you what I never
- 56:01Speaker 6: expected five hundred and fifty episodes in was to be
- 56:05Speaker 6: sitting across from Madori Dixit, the director who built her
- 56:10Speaker 6: latest character and the co star who held the frame
- 56:14Speaker 6: right next to her, all three of them in one hour,
- 56:18Speaker 6: all my time in this business. And I'll tell you
- 56:21Speaker 6: something I've learned. A great performance is never one person.
- 56:26Speaker 6: The audience sees the actor, the audience credits the actor,
- 56:31Speaker 6: but three rooms had to come together for that performance
- 56:34Speaker 6: to exist. The actor's room, the director's room, and the
- 56:38Speaker 6: ensembles room. Today I had all three sitting across from me.
- 56:43Speaker 6: Madori Dixit becomes characters. I said that before this interview,
- 56:48Speaker 6: and I'll say it again. What I learned today is
- 56:51Speaker 6: that she becomes them because somebody else builds the room
- 56:55Speaker 6: she can become inside. So Reese Trauveni is that somebody.
- 57:00Speaker 6: Most directors borrow an actor's legend, the good ones build
- 57:04Speaker 6: them a new place to live in. Trevenni built madri
- 57:07Speaker 6: a room she's never lived in before, and Darna Dorga
- 57:11Speaker 6: opposite a legend in the same frame. In every scene
- 57:16Speaker 6: that matters didn't take for Madrii's light. She brought her own.
- 57:21Speaker 6: That's what ma Behen is, That's what every great film is.
- 57:25Speaker 6: When you look closely enough, the actor becomes the director builds,
- 57:29Speaker 6: the ensemble holds on the five hundred and fiftieth episode
- 57:34Speaker 6: of the show, I got to honor all three. Go
- 57:37Speaker 6: see the film Madrii Dixit, Srees Trevenni Dharna Durga. They
- 57:43Speaker 6: made something worth your evening. I'll see tomorrow.
- 57:46Speaker 4: Everybody get Russians on the headisis, he'll mill to give
- 57:53Speaker 4: me hellage.

- 58:53Speaker 10: To fly. Oh God, you know I got this Ya.
- 59:02Speaker 4: Gandhi had to call she's a kid, and then he
- 59:06Speaker 4: called the bye. I called my job birdym in the bandy.
- 59:13Speaker 4: I'm sad her bady hit and I talk Gardy coming
- 59:18Speaker 4: to him. Nay say, oh, godd had a clean her child,
