- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with ONET Radio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: All Right, everybody, it's the Real Housewives of Rhode Island
- 0:08Speaker 2: Reunion two breakdown. Here, It's Almost Famous podcast. Lauren. I
- 0:13Speaker 2: want to dive into this part two reunion, but I
- 0:16Speaker 2: want to start with some news that happened before the reunion.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Uh huh.
- 0:21Speaker 2: We have an Instagram post from one of this season's
- 0:25Speaker 2: biggest characters.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Liz I told you.
- 0:29Speaker 2: She says, I'm full of gratitude for the amazing opportunity
- 0:32Speaker 2: to appear on the show. As filming for season two begins,
- 0:35Speaker 2: I have made a decision to take a step back
- 0:37Speaker 2: and focus on my family, my work, and my passions.
- 0:40Speaker 2: The Real Housewives Rhode Island cast is an amazing group
- 0:44Speaker 2: of women. I don't know if we could necessarily say
- 0:47Speaker 2: they all think that about each other. After this reunion,
- 0:51Speaker 2: we'll get into that. In event, the amazing group of
- 0:54Speaker 2: women who have created something special. I'll be watching next
- 0:57Speaker 2: season rooting for the continued success of this franchise. For now,
- 1:02Speaker 2: I look forward to enjoying this little corner of the
- 1:05Speaker 2: world from other side of the camera. Lauren, you predicted this.
- 1:12Speaker 2: I guess now we can say why, How, like, what
- 1:15Speaker 2: made you think that this was going to happen?
- 1:18Speaker 3: I guess now I can say why is that she
- 1:21Speaker 3: just told Ashley that she's just you know, she's got
- 1:24Speaker 3: her money, she's got her perfect life, she's got her
- 1:28Speaker 3: now granddaughter. She doesn't need this drama. It's not something like, oh,
- 1:34Speaker 3: they're younger and they're going to be part of this
- 1:36Speaker 3: franchise for a long time. So I think she's called
- 1:39Speaker 3: the quits, like why do you need the drama? And like,
- 1:41Speaker 3: there's relationships that you have with people like Alicia that
- 1:43Speaker 3: she didn't think would go south? So why continuing destroying
- 1:47Speaker 3: this and her marriage? Maybe you know, there's a whole
- 1:49Speaker 3: bunch of things doesn't seem worth it for her.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it's you know, this reunion brought up some illegal
- 1:57Speaker 2: stuff that's going on. I guess it didn't bring it
- 2:00Speaker 2: up about her, but we maybe saw that in the
- 2:02Speaker 2: headlines that there's been rumors about it. Lauren, do you
- 2:05Speaker 2: think that has anything to do with it? Like that
- 2:07Speaker 2: it could have been become a storyline this next season
- 2:09Speaker 2: and it's not something that she wants airing to the world.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I'm sure that's definitely part of it. I mean even
- 2:16Speaker 3: if the rumors like with Dino's allegedly being like a
- 2:21Speaker 3: mobster or something like. She's like, I don't if it's
- 2:24Speaker 3: true or not. She doesn't want to be part of it,
- 2:27Speaker 3: so I understand her. I think it's it's a true loss.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I'm really sad about it.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean she's she's the glue, and I think
- 2:35Speaker 3: it may be weird to have these two groups connecting,
- 2:40Speaker 3: kind of like she's the bridge.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Who steps up?
- 2:44Speaker 3: Well, I'm gonna say Joe Allen, but she's already stepped up.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yeah. But Joelle's not a bridge. I mean, Liz had
- 2:49Speaker 2: her moments where I felt like she crossed the line
- 2:51Speaker 2: to be like I just couldn't understand why she was
- 2:54Speaker 2: doing what she was doing, or she felt like a
- 2:55Speaker 2: mean girl, or she was confusing in a lot of ways.
- 2:58Speaker 2: She got involved in a few arguments that I felt
- 3:00Speaker 2: like were below her as kind of the blue. But Joellan,
- 3:05Speaker 2: I don't think can be the bridge. Like I think
- 3:07Speaker 2: now Joellan has her role and that is investigator, digger,
- 3:13Speaker 2: kind of prodder. She's the one that's going to bring
- 3:15Speaker 2: up other people's stuff.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Alicia's a bridge, but I feel like Alicia's not all
- 3:21Speaker 3: there to be said. Bridge should and the nicest way possible,
- 3:26Speaker 3: but I.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Mean, I just don't see Alicia doing it because you
- 3:30Speaker 2: can literally like coax or like hand her the just
- 3:35Speaker 2: and not even the right thing to say, but the
- 3:39Speaker 2: like clear thing to think and say, and Alicia just
- 3:42Speaker 2: doesn't take it. Like I don't think she sees the
- 3:44Speaker 2: world in the same way as everybody else. She's frustrating
- 3:48Speaker 2: in a sense. Alicia's too frustrating to be a bridge
- 3:52Speaker 2: because you're like, hey, you're upset with your husband for
- 3:56Speaker 2: not giving you anything, but you don't want to take
- 3:58Speaker 2: the time to actually sit down and figure out how
- 3:59Speaker 2: to get it.
- 4:00Speaker 3: I was just gonna say that. Then I was like,
- 4:02Speaker 3: we'll wait to we get into that whole thing. But
- 4:05Speaker 3: that's what I was thinking. You can't complain, but I'm
- 4:07Speaker 3: gonna say it. Ashley is the bridge. Ashley is the
- 4:10Speaker 3: bridge because she's actually cordial with both sides. She'll instigate
- 4:16Speaker 3: more hangouts. Now. I know she's going to a concert
- 4:19Speaker 3: with Joe Ellen, which is crazy like on their own
- 4:22Speaker 3: as friends, and that is definitely something a bridge would do.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I agree. I think Ashley's the only clear choice, and
- 4:28Speaker 2: that's I would love to have said somebody else, because
- 4:32Speaker 2: obviously we're biased here. I don't want to put Ashley
- 4:34Speaker 2: in every category, but she's not every category. She is
- 4:38Speaker 2: somebody that will not dip low in every argument. She
- 4:41Speaker 2: is somebody that will see both sides as long as
- 4:44Speaker 2: both sides exist and are reasonable. She is somebody that
- 4:48Speaker 2: I think everybody there wants to hang out with, but not.
- 4:52Speaker 2: But I think some of them feel like, hey, Ashley's
- 4:54Speaker 2: not going to give us the opportunity to hang out
- 4:56Speaker 2: with her because she's so cool. Now she can step
- 4:59Speaker 2: into that role, feel you, And I think Ashley has
- 5:02Speaker 2: to become that. I think Ashley has to step up
- 5:06Speaker 2: and become the leader of the group and the way
- 5:07Speaker 2: that she wasn't this season. But I think we all
- 5:11Speaker 2: we both know she can be.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Yeah. Absolutely, yeah, I think she's gonna really, I think
- 5:16Speaker 3: she's gonna thrive. I think she's very comfortable with all
- 5:18Speaker 3: these girls, and she's been hanging out with them in
- 5:21Speaker 3: person way more this summer, so I think yeah.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Because she got peer pressured into it.
- 5:26Speaker 3: She got peer pressured into it. But she was over
- 5:28Speaker 3: at Rula's house the other day. We already know her
- 5:31Speaker 3: and Rosie are closed. Rosie babies had her kids yesterday.
- 5:34Speaker 3: She's going to a concert with Joellen. Now all we
- 5:36Speaker 3: need is like a Liz hangout, I mean Liz, I
- 5:39Speaker 3: mean Kelsey hang out.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that might not happen, right, That is tough. That's tough. Hey,
- 5:45Speaker 2: it is the week of July fourth. We took the
- 5:48Speaker 2: week off here at the Almost Famous podcast, But it
- 5:51Speaker 2: doesn't mean that reunions stop. The Real Housewives of Rhode
- 5:55Speaker 2: Island Reunion Part two did air, and so we're here
- 5:59Speaker 2: to talk about it. We've obviously covered that Liz is
- 6:03Speaker 2: stepping away from the show, so let's just dive into
- 6:07Speaker 2: the actual breakdown of part two. This episode is perfectly
- 6:14Speaker 2: started kind of with the cliffhanger of last episode where
- 6:18Speaker 2: we see Rula and Joelle and really going at it.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Lauren might take from this really through the whole Part
- 6:25Speaker 2: one and part two is Joelle has convinced me that
- 6:31Speaker 2: she knows a lot, and I think she's right. I know,
- 6:35Speaker 2: Ruli just doesn't want to see it.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Yeah, Rula doesn't want to see it, which is her prerogative,
- 6:40Speaker 3: but she's not answering the most simple of questions. And
- 6:44Speaker 3: if you can answer those questions, you know the answer
- 6:47Speaker 3: is wrong. They get into the Spanish teacher allegations, a
- 6:50Speaker 3: little bit of Brian of Rula being the other woman
- 6:56Speaker 3: to the Spanish teacher. I can't believe I'm seeing really,
- 7:00Speaker 3: yell so loudly at the beginning of this episode.
- 7:03Speaker 2: What is she protecting, Lauren? Is she protecting herself? Is
- 7:06Speaker 2: she protecting her marriage? Is she protecting is she just
- 7:10Speaker 2: trying to not have anything said about it? I mean,
- 7:13Speaker 2: I'm with her, Lauren. You just said it. It's Rula's
- 7:17Speaker 2: prerogative to believe this stuff or not, or it's her
- 7:20Speaker 2: business she can handle it or not. But I agree
- 7:24Speaker 2: with Joella and in a sense of hey, I would
- 7:26Speaker 2: stay out of this if you didn't call me a liar.
- 7:29Speaker 2: And as soon as you called me a liar, now
- 7:31Speaker 2: I have something to prove to you if you just
- 7:33Speaker 2: said hey, And I do probably think Rula did say
- 7:36Speaker 2: and Joel and at the beginning actually just wanted to
- 7:38Speaker 2: dig into dirt, So that gets a little blurry. But
- 7:42Speaker 2: if the reason for Joellen continuing to do what she's
- 7:45Speaker 2: done and learn what she's learning and pull up court
- 7:48Speaker 2: documents bonkers by the way, I mean just as she admits,
- 7:51Speaker 2: like it's absolutely crazy and it is crazy that she's
- 7:54Speaker 2: doing all this. I understand that she's doing it because
- 7:57Speaker 2: she's like, you called me a liar, and I want
- 7:59Speaker 2: to show everybody that I'm not that. Hey, you can
- 8:02Speaker 2: believe what you want to believe, but what I'm telling
- 8:04Speaker 2: you is true.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I would defend my name to the end. And
- 8:09Speaker 3: you can see Gary being like she's just protecting her
- 8:12Speaker 3: name now at this point, it has nothing to do
- 8:14Speaker 3: with making your husband look like a bad guy. She
- 8:17Speaker 3: just doesn't want to look like a liar. I totally
- 8:19Speaker 3: feel that. I feel like maybe at this point, like
- 8:22Speaker 3: it's so far gone that Rula is like trying to
- 8:24Speaker 3: protect her kids from all of this, so she's trying
- 8:27Speaker 3: to make it look like he actually is telling the truth,
- 8:31Speaker 3: because I'm sure her poor kids are getting ridiculed at
- 8:34Speaker 3: school and my friend and parents and stuff. So if
- 8:37Speaker 3: like she can hold some information back, like the date
- 8:41Speaker 3: that got married or when she conceived her first child
- 8:44Speaker 3: and all this stuff out of wedlock, then they'd be
- 8:48Speaker 3: saving them some issues. But I have genuinely no idea
- 8:52Speaker 3: she just want to go through a second divorce.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Basically, it'd be different. I think if Brian felt like
- 8:59Speaker 2: somebody here wanted to protect, we're like, hey, poor guy.
- 9:03Speaker 2: But he's not helping himself out at all. He either
- 9:06Speaker 2: is lying and digging a deeper hole with his lies
- 9:09Speaker 2: because like the truths are being unfolded in front of
- 9:13Speaker 2: him and he's just i mean, finding new ways to
- 9:15Speaker 2: escape them. But he also seems to enjoy this too
- 9:20Speaker 2: much for me to try to side with him at
- 9:22Speaker 2: any point, not that I could, but he seems to
- 9:27Speaker 2: genuinely enjoy the attention he's getting, even if it's negative.
- 9:32Speaker 2: And I am shocked by that, I know.
- 9:35Speaker 3: And he even says like, well, I can't speak to
- 9:37Speaker 3: that because the case was dismissed. I'm like, literally, what
- 9:40Speaker 3: did you just say? You said the case was dismissed,
- 9:43Speaker 3: so let's speak to it. Nothing, he says, ever, has
- 9:47Speaker 3: an end point to it, but he doesn't mind talking. Still,
- 9:50Speaker 3: I'm like, you're not making sense in anything you say.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Do you think anybody in that room's believing him? Zero?
- 9:56Speaker 3: And I'm so disappointed that Andy didn't stop every in
- 10:00Speaker 3: the room and be like, Brian, answer this point blank.
- 10:04Speaker 3: And they never did that. They let him dance again.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Why do they do that, they just want to come back.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Probably, yeah, because if the answered point blank and he said, look,
- 10:13Speaker 3: I did this, I cheated on her until like October whatever,
- 10:17Speaker 3: this was the last time I saw her, then we
- 10:20Speaker 3: would have no content.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Let's talk about that for a second, because in October
- 10:26Speaker 2: this affair supposedly ended the show for season one was
- 10:31Speaker 2: filmed just previous to that, right.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it stopped mid September.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Do we believe that it's over in October?
- 10:39Speaker 3: If Joellen says it was over in October, then it
- 10:41Speaker 3: was over in October. That's what I think. I think
- 10:45Speaker 3: it was.
- 10:57Speaker 2: How does she know that rules but smells like garlic?
- 11:00Speaker 3: I'm assuming Brian told the mistress, and the mistress told
- 11:04Speaker 3: a whole bunch of people like her butt smiles like
- 11:06Speaker 3: man garlic, and that's so she sucks. So that's exactly why.
- 11:11Speaker 3: And then I saw this guy on TikTok. He's a
- 11:13Speaker 3: doctor and he's like, scientifically, if your butt does smell
- 11:16Speaker 3: like garlic, it's because you have a very unhealthy microbiome,
- 11:20Speaker 3: So unhealthy, unhealthy. Yeah, it's not good. Something's going on there.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Also just a wild thing to criticize your partner for
- 11:30Speaker 2: I know, I.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Know, it's really sad because that is such an intimate
- 11:34Speaker 3: thing that he's just spreading around and yeah, Jared, Jared
- 11:40Speaker 3: also would love her about to smell garlic repulsive. Wait
- 11:44Speaker 3: where was I going with this? Oh? Yeah, So what
- 11:46Speaker 3: we saw was Joel and Say read texts from the
- 11:51Speaker 3: mistress to Brian, and the mistress and Brian were saying like,
- 11:54Speaker 3: I can't wait to be a good fiance to you.
- 11:58Speaker 3: And basically these texts coming out are showing that he
- 12:04Speaker 3: had intention of marrying this mistress, which is why she
- 12:08Speaker 3: probably kept showing up during filming and all this. It
- 12:13Speaker 3: was more serious than we thought. It's more than just sex.
- 12:17Speaker 3: There was an engagement rank probably.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I guess the big question through this is why why
- 12:24Speaker 2: does really care to stay around? And if it is
- 12:26Speaker 2: for the kids or for the lack of two divorces
- 12:29Speaker 2: and those that stuff, that is up to her. It's
- 12:32Speaker 2: not us for ups to judge. If I was her friend,
- 12:35Speaker 2: I could clearly tell her, hey, I don't know if
- 12:37Speaker 2: this is going well. I don't know if he is
- 12:40Speaker 2: a guy for you. In fact, the ladies at one
- 12:42Speaker 2: point say like you're better than him, yeah, like, which
- 12:47Speaker 2: would be a wild comment for my wife to receive
- 12:51Speaker 2: in front of me, for like everybody'd be like, hey, Jess,
- 12:54Speaker 2: you're just better than Ben, which she is one hundred percent.
- 12:58Speaker 2: I think it's an un spoken like thought, but you
- 13:02Speaker 2: don't say it and reassure it and reinforce it with
- 13:07Speaker 2: confidence in front of the spouse.
- 13:09Speaker 3: And then like an echoing of yeah, yeah, you are,
- 13:11Speaker 3: you are. I know. I'm thinking, how how awkward, Like, yes,
- 13:18Speaker 3: there has never been more blatant someone is better than
- 13:20Speaker 3: someone than the rule of Brian relationship. But how awkward
- 13:23Speaker 3: for Ashley to go to their home like last week
- 13:27Speaker 3: and be like, in front of everyone, I said you
- 13:30Speaker 3: suck and Rula is better than you. Like how awkward.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Yeah, But I wonder if at this point it is
- 13:37Speaker 2: kind of that strategy where you are, Okay, I like you, Rula,
- 13:41Speaker 2: but like I don't like your husband. That's known, Like
- 13:43Speaker 2: I just want you to know that so we can
- 13:45Speaker 2: hang out, and when I see him, I'm going to
- 13:48Speaker 2: tell him, like, you're not cool, but that's fine. If
- 13:52Speaker 2: you seem to not mind Rula, if your husband's just
- 13:55Speaker 2: getting absolutely destroyed here, then I'm just gonna be honest
- 13:59Speaker 2: with you. I don't want to be a that says
- 14:00Speaker 2: what you want to hear. I'm gonna be a friend
- 14:01Speaker 2: that says what's true. I think Brian knows it, though,
- 14:05Speaker 2: I think you're I think that's why it was okay.
- 14:07Speaker 2: I think Brian's like, yes, i know what I've done,
- 14:09Speaker 2: I know the truth here. In fact, Joellen's been right
- 14:12Speaker 2: on all this. I'm not doing well in this decision
- 14:16Speaker 2: making process of life. Rules a lot better than me,
- 14:20Speaker 2: and that's okay.
- 14:22Speaker 3: I would actually like Brian if he said all that right.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and you'd be like, okay. I mean, then
- 14:28Speaker 2: really you get to get to choose and it gets
- 14:31Speaker 2: to open up because there is a little bit of
- 14:32Speaker 2: an element, Lauren, where I think Brian still believes that
- 14:35Speaker 2: he is like the coolest thing out there.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Just the color of his suit.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Look, you don't wear that without, you know, feeling like
- 14:43Speaker 2: I've got something.
- 14:45Speaker 3: When they run around the circle and they were asking
- 14:47Speaker 3: about prenup because I'm sure that I think they were
- 14:49Speaker 3: talking about Alicia and Billy, which is such another conversation.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Rule and Brian were the only ones that had a
- 14:57Speaker 3: prenup And is that just because they both had like
- 15:00Speaker 3: already significant careers before yeah.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean there I think most of the time too,
- 15:06Speaker 2: you know what you might be getting into. I'm wondering
- 15:09Speaker 2: how much of this Rula expected at some point in
- 15:12Speaker 2: this relationship with Brian, Like you're not shocked, I think
- 15:16Speaker 2: by the character that you have fallen in love with,
- 15:18Speaker 2: and you're probably like, hey, we should protect ourselves because
- 15:21Speaker 2: I think at some point you're going to make a
- 15:22Speaker 2: weird decision.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Yeah, and yeah, I was gonna say, especially if everything
- 15:27Speaker 3: Joelin is saying is true. I need I know. I
- 15:30Speaker 3: was supposed to do homework for this podcast, but I
- 15:32Speaker 3: dropped the ball because Rockie isn't sleeping through the night anymore.
- 15:35Speaker 3: So I'm very tired, so I didn't do it. But
- 15:37Speaker 3: I was supposed to find out if Rosie was actually
- 15:42Speaker 3: in the car with Joe Allen. But I really actually
- 15:44Speaker 3: need to not not with Doland with the coach with
- 15:47Speaker 3: the coat, but I actually really need to dig to
- 15:50Speaker 3: see these marriages, the marriage divorce thing with Brian and
- 15:53Speaker 3: Rula in the Spanish teacher.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Why don't you just get it from Joellen? I mean,
- 15:57Speaker 2: I'm sure Ashley has access to Jolnes. I think she
- 16:00Speaker 2: would love to share.
- 16:02Speaker 3: I need a third party, like absolutely remove the third
- 16:05Speaker 3: party to believe this situation.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Hey, we will kind of glaze over some of these
- 16:10Speaker 2: topics that, yeah, we're touched on during the season and
- 16:13Speaker 2: touched on again at the reunion. We see the Rosie
- 16:17Speaker 2: Kelsey situation play out where we talk about the size
- 16:21Speaker 2: of her house. This whole dynamic is I just don't
- 16:26Speaker 2: think they're gonna ever really like each other. It does
- 16:29Speaker 2: seem like Rosie comes out ahead in this saying, Hey,
- 16:32Speaker 2: I am sorry for the things I did to you
- 16:35Speaker 2: this season, and Kelsey says it would be great if
- 16:37Speaker 2: we could hang out alone, and they say, yes, that
- 16:40Speaker 2: sounds awesome. The weird twist of that was, at some
- 16:42Speaker 2: point later on the episode, Kelsey kind of digs back
- 16:46Speaker 2: in on Rosie. It feels like they're in a good place,
- 16:49Speaker 2: and then she digs back in on Rosie and kind
- 16:53Speaker 2: of like goes back at her, and it feels like
- 16:55Speaker 2: that's just how we're supposed to ever hang out if
- 16:58Speaker 2: you are so excited about coming back at me over
- 17:03Speaker 2: things that really I think are hard to believe. I
- 17:07Speaker 2: kind of believe Kelsey for a long time on the
- 17:10Speaker 2: rumors of Rosie and the things that should after the
- 17:13Speaker 2: last few episodes, I've been like, I don't think I
- 17:15Speaker 2: can believe any of this because Rosie seems to want
- 17:17Speaker 2: to show off. Hey, here's the documents from my house project,
- 17:21Speaker 2: here's the documents from the police report, here's everything, like,
- 17:24Speaker 2: here's the truth. Yeah, and Kelsey's like, still not true,
- 17:28Speaker 2: and I don't know what to tell you. Then I
- 17:30Speaker 2: don't either.
- 17:31Speaker 3: I don't know if I believe Joellen anymore because Joeellen's like,
- 17:34Speaker 3: I saw the police report and it's like, well, I
- 17:38Speaker 3: don't think she's in there, so you're now you're just
- 17:41Speaker 3: I don't know. I trusted you this whole season, And
- 17:45Speaker 3: then it kind of shows with the back and forth
- 17:48Speaker 3: with Kelsey and Rosie. Kelsey doesn't know how one buys
- 17:51Speaker 3: a home, I don't think, because she was like, well
- 17:53Speaker 3: you didn't just put all that down. It's like that's
- 17:55Speaker 3: literally not how it works. And just don't pretend like
- 17:57Speaker 3: you understand mortgages. Okay, Kelsey, you just move right back
- 18:01Speaker 3: in with Billy.
- 18:02Speaker 2: That was a weird conversation because I think Kelsey knew
- 18:05Speaker 2: so little about the argument she was making, where she's like,
- 18:08Speaker 2: I know you have a double mortgage in your home,
- 18:10Speaker 2: and Rosie says, well, no, we have a construction loan,
- 18:16Speaker 2: which is an incredible loan to get. In fact, you
- 18:18Speaker 2: can usually get a construction loan leveraged off of a
- 18:21Speaker 2: current asset and you don't have to take money out
- 18:23Speaker 2: of any investments or bank account. So very like smart
- 18:27Speaker 2: as long as the interest rates work for you. It's
- 18:28Speaker 2: a very smart practice when it comes to building a home.
- 18:31Speaker 2: If you don't want to put all of your cash
- 18:33Speaker 2: into this one single asset, it helps you, know, alleviate risk.
- 18:37Speaker 2: And also you're using the bank's money and not the
- 18:40Speaker 2: money that you have stored up somewhere. And so Kelsey's
- 18:43Speaker 2: actually making an argument for Rosie and explaining this, and
- 18:47Speaker 2: I'm going Rosy and her partner Rich have a lot
- 18:53Speaker 2: of like financial knowledge. Then they absolutly doing this very
- 18:57Speaker 2: like in a very smart way. Kelsey, You're making their
- 19:00Speaker 2: argument to tell us that they know what they're doing.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Mm hmm yeah. And the fact that Rosie like knows
- 19:06Speaker 3: this is how much we put down, this is a
- 19:08Speaker 3: construction level, and this is a mortgage. She she knows
- 19:11Speaker 3: what's going on in her in her with her assets
- 19:13Speaker 3: and finances, unlike Kelsey and Alicia. Although I love you, Alicia, I.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Would probably if I was Kelsey, I would just stay
- 19:21Speaker 2: out of like you're you're gonna little in front of yourself.
- 19:26Speaker 2: You're you're you probably should stay out of these kind
- 19:29Speaker 2: of conversations until you have a couple more years of
- 19:31Speaker 2: experience in the real world, and then maybe you can
- 19:35Speaker 2: make some arguments either direction. But until then, I don't
- 19:39Speaker 2: think finances is something for her to broach, especially because
- 19:44Speaker 2: they She admitted later on the episode that Bill now
- 19:47Speaker 2: is helping with her car payment, but she's covering her
- 19:50Speaker 2: health insurance. So personally, like I'm proud, I guess would
- 19:55Speaker 2: be the word Kelsey. She's taking steps forward. She's paying
- 19:59Speaker 2: for something in her life now she's writing a check
- 20:02Speaker 2: or has it on auto pay, where her health insurance is,
- 20:05Speaker 2: you know, getting covered by herself. Now that's a big deal.
- 20:09Speaker 3: It's a big deal. I am proud of her for that.
- 20:12Speaker 3: She did move back in with Bill, or not back in.
- 20:15Speaker 3: She moved in with Bill because she realized that paying
- 20:18Speaker 3: for our house is expensive and hard and maintenance and
- 20:22Speaker 3: all that stuff. But what I thought was so interesting
- 20:25Speaker 3: was when Andy asked, so, what's up engagement? Kids like
- 20:29Speaker 3: what's on the horizon, and then she goes, well, life's
- 20:32Speaker 3: just getting kind of good now. I'm like, so, what
- 20:35Speaker 3: you're saying is you're famous, you're good looking, you got
- 20:40Speaker 3: men probably coming in your DMS. You're using Bill again
- 20:44Speaker 3: as another guy, just taking care of your rent, and
- 20:48Speaker 3: we're just seeing what DLAs is out there, because if
- 20:50Speaker 3: you really liked him, you'd be like, I'm thirty, what five?
- 20:52Speaker 3: Or I don't know how she is? And now it's
- 20:55Speaker 3: about time.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I poor Bill. Bill is going to get crushed
- 20:59Speaker 2: during the full thing. Bill, if you're listening to this,
- 21:03Speaker 2: if Polly Market had a bet for you and Kelsey
- 21:06Speaker 2: to be together or not, I think the odds would
- 21:09Speaker 2: be way in the favor of at some point here
- 21:13Speaker 2: soon your heart's gonna get broken. I don't see this
- 21:17Speaker 2: playing out. Speaking of financial knowledge, Alisha comes onto the scene.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Alisha here, I think has finally convinced me that I
- 21:27Speaker 2: just love her. I know I wasn't a fan, not
- 21:30Speaker 2: accident like her, but she was making me very frustrated
- 21:34Speaker 2: angry at times. I was annoyed by kind of her
- 21:38Speaker 2: lack of responses, her lack of care, her lack of
- 21:43Speaker 2: and this this episode finally convinced me, no, that's just
- 21:46Speaker 2: who Alicia is. Like, if I'm looking for Alicia to
- 21:49Speaker 2: say something correct, or to care well for her spouse,
- 21:55Speaker 2: or to be a leader in this group, it's not
- 21:58Speaker 2: going to happen. But if I'm looking for Alicia to
- 22:00Speaker 2: say some really funny stuff that makes me go, what
- 22:04Speaker 2: so funny?
- 22:05Speaker 3: And so it's so unintentional. She just is just speaking
- 22:10Speaker 3: and she's not looking for a reaction, which is the
- 22:12Speaker 3: best comedy. Like when they went around the circle, they
- 22:15Speaker 3: go what would you do differently? She goes, I'd wear
- 22:17Speaker 3: more makeup, and I'm like, and she thought that was
- 22:19Speaker 3: the most valid on her response.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Yeah, because she follows it up with no, I'm serious
- 22:25Speaker 2: because I can't stand looking at myself and we're like, no,
- 22:28Speaker 2: I get that, that's yes, okay. I also love the scene.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Bravo has been so good at this. But when she
- 22:35Speaker 2: says that she stays in shape by doing Jane Fonda
- 22:38Speaker 2: and that her aunt got her into it, and they
- 22:39Speaker 2: show her aunt like chugging out of a flask next
- 22:42Speaker 2: to her and part, I'm like, that is so good.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Wait, ben, I didn't even realize the humor because I
- 22:47Speaker 3: was so focused on the fact that she says Jane's Fonda.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Yeah, Jane's like, there is.
- 22:52Speaker 3: No s so she's so funny. But we did hear
- 22:56Speaker 3: that she does not drive her daughter to dance, even
- 22:58Speaker 3: though they practice. Very frustrating. It is a long drive
- 23:02Speaker 3: for dance though, I will tell you that.
- 23:04Speaker 2: But it doesn't mean that her husband, who is the
- 23:07Speaker 2: one working that has to do it. I still get
- 23:12Speaker 2: frustrated with her. This was a moment where you know,
- 23:15Speaker 2: she was kind of talking down to you know about
- 23:20Speaker 2: her partnership.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Yeah, and especially when Ashley was trying to say, oh,
- 23:25Speaker 3: well wrote well, Alicia was saying, but the prenup and
- 23:28Speaker 3: the deed, and ash was like, he's not going to
- 23:30Speaker 3: leave you with nothing. He's a good guy, and she goes,
- 23:32Speaker 3: he's all right, He's all right, man is amazing.
- 23:36Speaker 2: And then he's like, hey, I've tried to sit down
- 23:38Speaker 2: and have a weekly meeting about finances, and she's like, yeah,
- 23:42Speaker 2: but a meeting, that's just I guess so time like, then,
- 23:45Speaker 2: how do you expect you to be involved in any
- 23:47Speaker 2: of this at any level or be knowledgeable of any
- 23:51Speaker 2: of this if you aren't willing to sit with somebody
- 23:53Speaker 2: saying Hey, I want you to be involved, and you
- 23:56Speaker 2: just say no, what do you want him to do?
- 23:58Speaker 2: Like she wants to simplified. Well, this is about as
- 24:01Speaker 2: simple as it gets. Like life isn't simple. He needs
- 24:05Speaker 2: a partner, That is one part I got frustrated with
- 24:07Speaker 2: his as he enters in this. He's trying, you can tell.
- 24:10Speaker 2: But he needs a partner at some level, right. He
- 24:12Speaker 2: needs a partner in helping transportation, he needs a partner
- 24:15Speaker 2: in helping with the house. He needs a partner in
- 24:17Speaker 2: helping at work. He you just I don't care who
- 24:21Speaker 2: carries which role, but roles exist, and you just need
- 24:23Speaker 2: a partnership. He can be the one to clean the
- 24:26Speaker 2: house and the toilets, and you could be the one
- 24:28Speaker 2: going to work. But somehow you both have to put
- 24:31Speaker 2: some effort forward in the building out of your family
- 24:35Speaker 2: and your life. If not, this dude is you're literally
- 24:38Speaker 2: just bringing a burden more onto him than anything else.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sure there is some invisible load that she carries.
- 24:44Speaker 3: But at the same time, I don't know what she
- 24:47Speaker 3: is doing other than James Fonda. I think he needs
- 24:51Speaker 3: to make like a little doll cartoon, like an AI
- 24:56Speaker 3: doll cartoons and she loves dolls, being like, I'm a
- 24:59Speaker 3: mortgage and this is what I do, and I am
- 25:02Speaker 3: like a deed to a house and like make it
- 25:04Speaker 3: cute and fun for her, and then she'll sit through
- 25:05Speaker 3: the meeting.
- 25:07Speaker 2: That would be a great scene in the show, especially
- 25:10Speaker 2: if the daughter was the one to actually teach it,
- 25:13Speaker 2: because I bet the daughter could probably understand this very quickly.
- 25:17Speaker 2: It's not like incredibly difficult. She did frustrate frustrate me there,
- 25:21Speaker 2: but at the same time, she's just this lovable character
- 25:24Speaker 2: that I think I'm understanding more and going to enjoy
- 25:29Speaker 2: watching more of and not I hope she listens to this.
- 25:33Speaker 2: I'm hoping that we watch next season and we see
- 25:37Speaker 2: this growth happen where some adult responsibilities, even if they
- 25:42Speaker 2: aren't fun and even if they are boring and they're
- 25:46Speaker 2: not ideal, that she just owns and takes care of
- 25:49Speaker 2: so that we can go, hey, yes, she's relatable in
- 25:53Speaker 2: that way to me. She sits at her computer too,
- 25:56Speaker 2: and types things into a spreadsheet to figure out budgets.
- 25:59Speaker 2: That would be great.
- 26:00Speaker 3: That would be great, Lauren.
- 26:14Speaker 2: The rest of this episode really is focused on the husbands.
- 26:17Speaker 2: The husbands do make an appearance. Jared is uh, definitely
- 26:22Speaker 2: the one that feels like he's getting along with everybody,
- 26:24Speaker 2: uh and kind of caring for everybody. He these husbands, honestly,
- 26:29Speaker 2: outside of Bryan, seemed really great in their own respective ways.
- 26:33Speaker 2: There for the most part, these these people, these guys
- 26:37Speaker 2: have pretty strong partnerships with their spouses. You can see
- 26:42Speaker 2: the unique characteristics. I was excited to see the husbands
- 26:46Speaker 2: come out. Yeah, because there is a lot of this
- 26:49Speaker 2: season we spoke about last week was wrapped around rumors
- 26:53Speaker 2: about them. Is there anything about the husbands that stood
- 26:56Speaker 2: out to you, Lauren that you really that we haven't
- 26:59Speaker 2: touched on yet. I mean we've touched on a lot
- 27:00Speaker 2: of it, but that you really think we need to
- 27:02Speaker 2: focus on.
- 27:03Speaker 3: I mean, other than the fact I think Gary Ridser
- 27:06Speaker 3: dies for Joellen and I really appreciate that, I don't
- 27:09Speaker 3: think they really gave us much. I mean, we talked
- 27:11Speaker 3: about the Billy thing. We talked obviously about Brian and
- 27:15Speaker 3: how he gave us no answers, There wasn't There wasn't
- 27:19Speaker 3: a lot there.
- 27:21Speaker 2: What do you think, Well, they stayed away from Liz
- 27:23Speaker 2: in her relationship. Yeah, for the most part, because you know,
- 27:27Speaker 2: obviously it was a storyline, but I think they handled
- 27:30Speaker 2: it with the what you'd expect somebody to handle it
- 27:33Speaker 2: with if they weren't coming on a second season. They're like, hey,
- 27:36Speaker 2: I'm not going to talk about it, and I don't
- 27:38Speaker 2: really care what you think. I'm out of here. Yeah.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Also, it seemed like the allegations were so ridiculous that
- 27:42Speaker 3: they were kind of laughing about. She's like, yeah, I
- 27:44Speaker 3: was dancing with the other guy while we were on
- 27:45Speaker 3: a break and I wanted him to get jealous. Like
- 27:48Speaker 3: good story, Rula. Yeah, so it was kind of a
- 27:51Speaker 3: redemption for them.
- 27:52Speaker 2: They look cute, They looked fine. Ashley and Jared are
- 27:57Speaker 2: just great commentators during this. They do add an element
- 28:01Speaker 2: of humor and relatability, but there's nothing going on with
- 28:06Speaker 2: the two of them that's really brought about. I mean, honestly,
- 28:08Speaker 2: the husband chat, I felt like happened so that Brian
- 28:11Speaker 2: could come out and sit there and everybody could kind
- 28:13Speaker 2: of just pen I mean, I watched this whole episode
- 28:17Speaker 2: not more than a few hours ago, and I don't
- 28:19Speaker 2: remember really anybody else talking other than Brian. It felt
- 28:23Speaker 2: like the whole thing was here, here's Brian, what does
- 28:26Speaker 2: everybody think, all right, go.
- 28:28Speaker 3: At it, go at it, and still no closure, no conclusion.
- 28:35Speaker 3: I think we The most interesting part of that whole
- 28:39Speaker 3: thing was once she looked at him, she was like,
- 28:42Speaker 3: I'm just learning about this. I think it was I
- 28:45Speaker 3: think it was the Jerry Liz situation. But she just
- 28:48Speaker 3: seemed like she didn't know this information. She didn't know
- 28:52Speaker 3: when his divorce was, she didn't didn't say when they
- 28:55Speaker 3: got married, she didn't know that he spoke to Jerry
- 29:00Speaker 3: about Liz's dancing. She seemed like she was in the dark,
- 29:03Speaker 3: which I thought was surprising because I would assume that
- 29:06Speaker 3: she just knows everything she's playing dumb, but it seemed
- 29:08Speaker 3: like she maybe just didn't know everything.
- 29:10Speaker 2: I honestly don't know if she wants to know. Yeah,
- 29:13Speaker 2: I think that's kind of what I'm feeling right now
- 29:15Speaker 2: is I don't know if Rula really wants to know
- 29:18Speaker 2: what's actually happened with Brian yet, for whatever reason.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Because I think the I'm sorry, I think the dots
- 29:24Speaker 3: were connecting when she was asking. When Joellen was asking,
- 29:27Speaker 3: She's like, oh, wait, when did he get divorced? Was
- 29:29Speaker 3: he just lying? I never checked? That probably dragged out,
- 29:33Speaker 3: maybe he was talking to his ex while we were together,
- 29:35Speaker 3: and it was connecting, and I'm sure they had quite
- 29:37Speaker 3: a conversation after they stopped filming.
- 29:41Speaker 2: You're right, hey. As we look forward to season two, Lauren,
- 29:45Speaker 2: what are you most looking forward to?
- 29:49Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to seeing Rula's nose settle a little
- 29:52Speaker 3: bit more. Such an Alicia answer. I felt bad that
- 29:57Speaker 3: she had a mote so much during this and she
- 30:00Speaker 3: just got of surgery two weeks earlier. I am so
- 30:04Speaker 3: looking forward to Ashley have her confidence. I think she's
- 30:06Speaker 3: gonna be super confident for this second season. She's going
- 30:09Speaker 3: to be not so scared, like she said at the end.
- 30:13Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm really depressed that Liz isn't going
- 30:15Speaker 3: to be there, but I think they'll be great drama.
- 30:17Speaker 2: What Alicia's wedding planning.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Alisa's wedding plan will be hilarious. I don't have faith
- 30:22Speaker 3: it'll happen this season, but.
- 30:24Speaker 2: I don't either.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. What about you.
- 30:27Speaker 2: I think it's learning to love Alicia and who Alicia
- 30:31Speaker 2: is more. I think I'm gonna enjoy that. I am
- 30:33Speaker 2: going to enjoy seeing more of Ashley kind of bring
- 30:36Speaker 2: this group together. Obviously, Brian and Rula will be a
- 30:39Speaker 2: consistent storyline that's intriguing. I am leaving this episode very
- 30:45Speaker 2: excited for the Rosy Kelsey relationship to either build or
- 30:50Speaker 2: really break. It feels like it's at that point where
- 30:52Speaker 2: it's going to go one direction and stay in one
- 30:54Speaker 2: direction for a long time. And I'd love to see
- 30:57Speaker 2: the two of them how they navigate either we can
- 31:01Speaker 2: be friends or we can't be friends, but we're still
- 31:03Speaker 2: gonna have to film this show together. That will be
- 31:06Speaker 2: really interesting to me.
- 31:07Speaker 3: I don't think that they could have any worse relationship.
- 31:10Speaker 3: I think it's only going to go up.
- 31:12Speaker 2: That'd be beautiful. Let's see some redemption on Real Housewives
- 31:16Speaker 2: of Rhode Island. Okay, hey, big announcement for all you
- 31:21Speaker 2: almost famous listeners. You have loved Lauren so much, haven't
- 31:28Speaker 2: we all, that we are going to keep her around.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Ashley is still going to be here breaking down everything
- 31:35Speaker 2: that's happening in the world of Bachelor with me and
- 31:39Speaker 2: Lauren will stick around. Now as we are recapping the
- 31:43Speaker 2: Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Roaring twentieth That's where our
- 31:49Speaker 2: speech impediment comes in Roaring Twentieth. It's called the twentieth
- 31:54Speaker 2: because it's the twentieth season right or.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Year year, so it's been on for twenty years. That's crazy.
- 32:03Speaker 3: And the amount of franchises. The Ultimate Girls Trip is
- 32:06Speaker 3: great because everyone comes together from different seasons. Ben, we
- 32:09Speaker 3: got to do a little bit of research here.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree. I agree, twenty twenty years is a
- 32:15Speaker 2: long time. I didn't really realize that it's coming to
- 32:18Speaker 2: Bravo in August ninth, and so I would recommend watching
- 32:21Speaker 2: it to anybody out there. I think it's going to
- 32:23Speaker 2: be a blast, and we're gonna be breaking it down
- 32:26Speaker 2: right here, Lauren and myself. Lauren, can we get confirmation
- 32:30Speaker 2: that Ashley's a part of this?
- 32:31Speaker 3: You know, I'm not really in charge of Actuley's schedule.
- 32:34Speaker 3: I generally don't know, but I think there is a
- 32:36Speaker 3: good chance. Can't confirm or deny.
- 32:38Speaker 2: I would love to see her on this, and I mean, goodness,
- 32:44Speaker 2: the almost Famous podcast, even if Ashley is not involved,
- 32:48Speaker 2: Like we're so ingrained now in the Real Housewives like season,
- 32:53Speaker 2: we're obsessed absolutely that we got to break it down.
- 32:56Speaker 2: So we'll be breaking it down right here again. That
- 32:58Speaker 2: comes out August ninth on Bravo. Hey, Season one of
- 33:03Speaker 2: the Real Housewives of Rhode Island has officially ended. Doesn't
- 33:07Speaker 2: mean that we are leaving again. We're gonna be breaking
- 33:11Speaker 2: down the Ultimate Girls Trip along with season two as
- 33:15Speaker 2: it becomes closer. This is an exciting time for the
- 33:19Speaker 2: Almost Famous podcast as we expand and grow, so make
