- 0:00Speaker 1: Coach, what are your takes on the last home game
- 0:03Speaker 1: at the People's Bank Arena.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's just really hard to believe that we're at the
- 0:08Speaker 2: end of the regular season. It flies by. I always
- 0:11Speaker 2: tell the kids it does up through January, it's long,
- 0:14Speaker 2: and then from January on it flies by. And we
- 0:17Speaker 2: have one regular season game left. So it's so we're
- 0:20Speaker 2: really guaranteed three games from this point on, so that
- 0:23Speaker 2: it'll be an interesting next couple of weeks.
- 0:26Speaker 1: And it seemed as normal or has been the norm.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Is your team ferocious on defense again? They really, you know,
- 0:33Speaker 1: first quarter, Georgetown was able to hit some shots and
- 0:36Speaker 1: stay within reason, but all of a sudden, it just
- 0:38Speaker 1: the pressure and the traps and things really came together
- 0:40Speaker 1: in the second quarter.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yeah, And I thought, you know, I thought our offense
- 0:44Speaker 2: was better in the second quarter, that we were able
- 0:47Speaker 2: to keep pressure on them, not only on the defensive end,
- 0:49Speaker 2: but we knocked in some shots. I thought, Asy at
- 0:51Speaker 2: a Trufi games, she shot the ball, well, she shot
- 0:54Speaker 2: it with confidence. I thought, you know, Sarah was Sarah.
- 0:57Speaker 2: It was. It took it took us a little while
- 1:01Speaker 2: to get going, but I thought overall, starting on, you know,
- 1:05Speaker 2: the last three quarters were pretty good, and.
- 1:07Speaker 1: You look at the numbers it I think everybody takes her.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Get how easy Sarah makes almost a triple double. Look
- 1:13Speaker 1: how easy easy Fudd makes it look good with her
- 1:16Speaker 1: point production. But what she does on defense too, her
- 1:18Speaker 1: numbers across the board, we're pretty good with assist and
- 1:21Speaker 1: the stat sheet.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Well, you know, I think it starts because we have
- 1:24Speaker 2: an unselfish team and they're willing to make the extra
- 1:27Speaker 2: pass sometimes maybe when they shouldn't, but they enjoy playing
- 1:31Speaker 2: with each other and seeing other people score, so that
- 1:34Speaker 2: makes it a little bit easier. But you know, we
- 1:38Speaker 2: still have things to work on, fine tune, getting ready,
- 1:41Speaker 2: you know for the last regular season gaming at Saint
- 1:43Speaker 2: John's and then certainly for the Big East tournament. It's
- 1:46Speaker 2: never easy to play teams a third time, and whoever
- 1:50Speaker 2: we play will be playing them for the third time
- 1:52Speaker 2: this year, so that'll make it that's challenging, and.
- 1:56Speaker 1: It's nice to see a celebration. I know it's not
- 1:59Speaker 1: the end all of the titles that this team wants,
- 2:02Speaker 1: but it is step number one, and it's something to
- 2:04Speaker 1: be said that I think people take for granted what
- 2:06Speaker 1: it takes to not just you know, win a Biggist
- 2:09Speaker 1: champion regular season, but to do it going undefeated, well,
- 2:12Speaker 1: I think.
- 2:12Speaker 2: You want to celebrate. One of the goals we have
- 2:14Speaker 2: is to win our at a conference schedule, and we
- 2:17Speaker 2: won all those games, and then to win the league
- 2:20Speaker 2: the regular season. And because I feel like, no matter
- 2:22Speaker 2: what happens in the tournament, winning your league over the
- 2:25Speaker 2: course of the year, improving you're the best team day
- 2:29Speaker 2: and night in and night out. I think that says
- 2:31Speaker 2: a lot. So I'm glad we had a chance to
- 2:33Speaker 2: celebrate it. I'm glad we got a chance to celebrate
- 2:35Speaker 2: it in Hartford for the people that you know, get
- 2:38Speaker 2: to come in here. I think, you know, this pretty
- 2:40Speaker 2: good crowd for Thursday night, right, Yeah, so yeah, I'm
- 2:43Speaker 2: happy for the players. We got a lot more confetti
- 2:46Speaker 2: than we did last year, so that was good and
- 2:49Speaker 2: it's nice. You know, I think you work really hard,
- 2:51Speaker 2: they work. Our kids work really hard, and it's good
- 2:53Speaker 2: for them to be able to celebrate this accomplishment.
- 2:56Speaker 1: All right. So that's a quick I somewhat a quick
- 2:59Speaker 1: turn around in that your head to New York. There
- 3:01Speaker 1: is there a day off before they have to load
- 3:02Speaker 1: up for hopeful three games straight.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Next week. Yeah, tomorrow, we we'll just do recovery and film.
- 3:09Speaker 2: We'll have a day to prepare for Saint John's. Then
- 3:11Speaker 2: we'll have a day off, you know, two days on,
- 3:14Speaker 2: then a day off, and then we get ready because
- 3:16Speaker 2: you don't want to go, you know, five or six
- 3:17Speaker 2: days in a row. So hopefully. Yeah, so we planned,
- 3:21Speaker 2: you know, they'll get a couple of days off next week,
- 3:24Speaker 2: do some recovery, film, that kind of stuff.
- 3:26Speaker 1: All right, all right, well, congratulations on not just the win,
- 3:28Speaker 1: but the championship number one. We're hoping, right, Yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Well yeah, it's it's like I said, it's a challenge
- 3:34Speaker 2: and I'm glad our kids got to enjoy it.
- 3:37Speaker 1: All right, all right, back to you, Bob, Thanks coach.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Thanks
