- 1:12Speaker 4: Podcast called 25 Whistles. Talking football, and they all wear
- 1:17Speaker 4: a whistle. Yeah, it's stupid, but why did you expect it?
- 1:21Speaker 4: It's a podcast called 25 Whistles.
- 1:23Speaker 5: 25 Whistles.
- 1:24Speaker 4: All right, blow it.
- 1:27Speaker 1: All right, so I was thinking about this Texas-Tennessee game,
- 1:32Speaker 1: and what's interesting is, Peyton Manning obviously played at Tennessee,
- 1:37Speaker 1: but his nephew plays at Texas, and he said he's
- 1:39Speaker 1: rooting for Texas.
- 1:40Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 1:41Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Because he said he roots for his family over his school.
- 1:45Speaker 4: I get that, but man, your school loves you so much.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Yeah, but you love your family.
- 1:50Speaker 6: Not even your kid, though.
- 1:51Speaker 1: It's your nephew, though.
- 1:52Speaker 6: Yeah, so it's not your kid.
- 1:53Speaker 4: I mean, 100%. If it's your kid, you've got to
- 1:57Speaker 4: go for your kid. But you're right. A nephew? Extended family.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I think if Tulsa softball played Arkansas softball, I'd root
- 2:05Speaker 1: for DJ in Tulsa.
- 2:07Speaker 4: And he's not even blood related to you.
- 2:08Speaker 1: He's my brother-in-law. Dang. I don't know how you guys
- 2:12Speaker 1: felt about that.
- 2:14Speaker 6: Yeah, that'd be tough. I guess it depends how much
- 2:16Speaker 6: you like them too, right?
- 2:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I think they're probably pretty close.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:20Speaker 4: And the older I get, the more I realize that
- 2:22Speaker 4: some of these players just didn't give a crap about
- 2:24Speaker 4: where they played.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I think Peyton Manning did though.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Well, then go for your school.
- 2:29Speaker 1: But again, it's the one time his family's playing Tennessee.
- 2:32Speaker 4: And you know what? I never see him in the
- 2:34Speaker 4: stands at Texas. It's not like he goes to support Arch.
- 2:38Speaker 1: If he does, we don't know. He doesn't take his
- 2:41Speaker 1: shine from him. He may go and he just may
- 2:44Speaker 1: not tell anybody.
- 2:44Speaker 4: He wears like a mustache and glasses.
- 2:46Speaker 6: He's like his brother Eli in those commercials.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Arch doesn't talk in interviews anymore.
- 2:52Speaker 6: He's not allowed to.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Yeah, he's allowed, but he doesn't talk much anymore after
- 2:56Speaker 1: this situation. Oh, I get what you're saying. He says, like,
- 2:58Speaker 1: three words, because I'm not getting bit by that again.
- 3:00Speaker 1: That sucks. Since the AI Holly Rose stuff.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:04Speaker 6: That really sucks. Because he seemed like a likable guy,
- 3:07Speaker 6: had a good personality, obviously, like what he said. He
- 3:10Speaker 6: knew the internet was going to run with it, but
- 3:11Speaker 6: now it's like, now I get nothing.
- 3:13Speaker 4: He'll come back. He just needs a little time to breathe.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I don't think he will in college. I think he's
- 3:17Speaker 1: shutting it down.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Really?
- 3:18Speaker 1: He'll have to do his press. He'll do it. He'll
- 3:20Speaker 1: say the few words, and then he'll be done.
- 3:22Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Dang.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Learned a hard lesson. Yeah.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Because it was, I mean, it was on him, right? Like,
- 3:27Speaker 4: nobody asked him, hey, Arch, did you see the video?
- 3:29Speaker 4: What did you think about it? He's the one that
- 3:30Speaker 4: brought it up.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I think they were talking about maybe the game and how,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I don't remember.
- 3:38Speaker 6: Somebody brought up, like, generic, have you seen any of
- 3:40Speaker 6: the videos?
- 3:40Speaker 5: Is that what it was?
- 3:41Speaker 6: And then he was the one that said, yeah, you
- 3:42Speaker 6: guys see the Holly Roe one?
- 3:44Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 3:45Speaker 1: So, yeah, his interviews are very boring now. Not that
- 3:48Speaker 1: I was tuning in to watch Arch's press briefings.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Are they like Marshawn Lynch where he's just.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Almost.
- 3:55Speaker 4: No way. Yeah, almost.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Okay, Eddie, here's the game. How many backup quarterbacks can
- 4:00Speaker 1: you name?
- 4:00Speaker 4: Oh, gosh. None.
- 4:04Speaker 1: With all the early injuries to quarterbacks, we've seen backups
- 4:07Speaker 1: come in that we may have forgotten about. Eddie, who
- 4:10Speaker 1: am I? Clue number one. I was drafted ahead of
- 4:12Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Okay, am I getting one clue?
- 4:18Speaker 1: No, I'll give you three clues, but you get more
- 4:20Speaker 1: points if you get it after clue one.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Oh, I got you. Okay. Don't know yet.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I was the number two overall pick in 2017 and
- 4:29Speaker 1: spent my first four seasons with the Bears.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Got it. Justin Fields.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Nope.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I am now the veteran backing up a second-year quarterback.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 4:43Speaker 1: What sucks for this guy is he was always the
- 4:45Speaker 1: graphic they would show that was drafted ahead of Patrick Mahomes. Yeah.
- 4:50Speaker 6: It used to be Deshaun, too, but not anymore.
- 4:52Speaker 4: And he got drafted by the Bears?
- 4:54Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Number two overall pick in 2017.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Did you say the college he went to? You didn't
- 4:59Speaker 4: say that.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I did not.
- 5:02Speaker 4: You know who it is, obviously.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:04Speaker 1: So after Chicago, probably Buffalo?
- 5:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I believe.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Possibly Buffalo next. He's not in Buffalo now.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Gosh, man. Who was that? I have no idea.
- 5:16Speaker 1: He's the backup quarterback for the Titans.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Oh, that guy. Mustard? Mayonnaise? No.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Levis got cut.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Levis.
- 5:27Speaker 6: I think he might be on a practice squad somewhere,
- 5:29Speaker 6: but he's not on the Titans anymore.
- 5:30Speaker 4: He's the backup for the Cowboys?
- 5:32Speaker 6: No, the Titans.
- 5:33Speaker 1: This guy was the number two overall pick in 2017. Again,
- 5:37Speaker 1: ahead of Mahomes and Deshaun Watson.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Anything?
- 5:40Speaker 3: No.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Mitch Trubisky.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Oh, dang. I do remember Mitch. Okay.
- 5:45Speaker 7: No points. Zero.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Number two. Who am I? My original team traded three
- 5:51Speaker 1: first round picks to move up and get me.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Nope.
- 5:56Speaker 1: I was the number three overall pick in the 2021
- 5:58Speaker 1: NFL draft. Nope. I am currently backing up a former
- 6:04Speaker 1: Oregon Duck quarterback.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Aha. Former Oregon Duck. Would that be Mariota?
- 6:17Speaker 1: Mariota is... Is the backup.
- 6:19Speaker 4: I know something. Is this the backup to the backup?
- 6:23Speaker 1: Oh.
- 6:25Speaker 4: The only Oregon duck that I. Oh, Bo Nix. He's
- 6:27Speaker 4: backing up Bo Nix. And that would be. No. No,
- 6:32Speaker 4: it's not Bo Nix. Thanks for stopping me before I
- 6:36Speaker 4: went too far. Oh, man. Jason Statham.
- 6:41Speaker 1: This guy also played for the Cowboys.
- 6:43Speaker 4: He did? Oh, Cooper Rush.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Mm-mm. Number three overall pick, 2021 NFL draft. Not the controversy,
- 6:51Speaker 1: but the thing was, it was COVID, so they really
- 6:53Speaker 1: couldn't have the normal time to evaluate in person. Played
- 6:59Speaker 1: for the Cowboys. I think the Cowboys traded a fourth-round
- 7:01Speaker 1: pick for him. That seems right.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Oh, so the Cowboys drafted him.
- 7:05Speaker 5: Nope.
- 7:05Speaker 1: The Cowboys traded a fourth-round pick for him.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Oh, Trey Lance.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Trey Lance. The Chargers.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Dang, I forgot about Trey Lance. Dude, he was supposed
- 7:15Speaker 4: to be really good.
- 7:16Speaker 1: He's backing up Herbert.
- 7:17Speaker 6: Yeah, fourth round.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Wow.
- 7:18Speaker 4: And Herbert was an Oregon Duck?
- 7:20Speaker 5: He was.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess he was.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Eddie, who am I? Physically, I look like somebody created
- 7:26Speaker 1: a quarterback in Madden and maxed out all the sliders.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I'm a backup quarterback. Who am I?
- 7:32Speaker 4: Okay.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Clue number two. I'm 6'4, around 244 pounds, was drafted
- 7:37Speaker 1: fourth overall in 2023. Okay, no. I went to the
- 7:42Speaker 1: same school as Tim Tebow.
- 7:45Speaker 4: You're Anthony Richardson.
- 7:46Speaker 1: You're Anthony Richardson.
- 7:47Speaker 5: Oh, boy.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Finally got you one there. Good job, good job.
- 7:49Speaker 4: I'm still trying to get one with one hint. I
- 7:52Speaker 4: don't think it's going to happen, though.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I would be surprised if you got one within two hints.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Okay.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Who am I? Remember, they're all backups right now. I
- 8:01Speaker 1: have 169 career NFL starts.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Dang.
- 8:07Speaker 1: So what does that say to you?
- 8:09Speaker 4: I mean, this is a guy that was good at
- 8:11Speaker 4: one point, and we all believed in him. So he's older.
- 8:15Speaker 4: He's just an older guy. Next.
- 8:19Speaker 1: I spent nine seasons as a starting quarterback for one franchise.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Okay. And I can guess that doesn't mean it's over, right?
- 8:27Speaker 5: Correct.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Deshaun Watson. No, no, he's a starter. Okay, next one.
- 8:33Speaker 1: They call me the Red Rifle. Oh, yeah.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Andy Dalton. He still plays?
- 8:38Speaker 1: Do you know where he backs up?
- 8:39Speaker 4: I mean, I can only picture him in a Bengals jersey.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Or the Panthers. He backed up Oh, that's right. And
- 8:45Speaker 1: even started when they benched Bryce for a bit. The
- 8:48Speaker 1: Philadelphia Eagles now.
- 8:49Speaker 4: He's with the Eagles? That's crazy. I forgot about that guy. Ready?
- 8:54Speaker 1: Yeah. You like this game?
- 8:55Speaker 4: I love it.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Who am I? My biggest NFL fame might have more
- 9:01Speaker 1: to do with Italian food than quarterbacking.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Tommy DeVito! Got one. Got one.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I have two more here. I won two national championships
- 9:13Speaker 1: in college.
- 9:16Speaker 4: Two national championships. Give me a second on that one.
- 9:20Speaker 4: He won two, so his college team was it. Okay, next.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I became one of the oldest quarterbacks ever selected in
- 9:29Speaker 1: the NFL draft.
- 9:31Speaker 4: Chris Winkie? Still playing?
- 9:35Speaker 1: Still playing.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Tim Tebow's not playing. Nah, next.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I won those titles at Georgia.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Dang. But one of the oldest quarterbacks. That's the one
- 9:52Speaker 4: that throws me off. One of the oldest. What did
- 9:55Speaker 4: you say about that one?
- 9:56Speaker 1: I became one of the oldest quarterbacks ever selected in
- 9:58Speaker 1: the NFL draft.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Dang, and he played at Georgia. Stetson Bennett.
- 10:08Speaker 1: That's it. It is?
- 10:09Speaker 6: Nice job, dude.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Wow. The Rams back up.
- 10:11Speaker 4: How old is that guy?
- 10:13Speaker 1: I don't know. I think he was like 25 when
- 10:14Speaker 1: he was drafted, right?
- 10:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Dude, I'll never forget when he did that Good Morning
- 10:17Speaker 4: America or whatever.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Like, hi.
- 10:21Speaker 6: He's 28 now.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Okay, here we go.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Last one. I've been on five teams in four seasons.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Oh, dang. That sucks. Five teams in four seasons.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Gosh.
- 10:35Speaker 4: I feel like I can get something there. Just gets
- 10:39Speaker 4: moved around a lot.
- 10:42Speaker 7: Next.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Next.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I once started all 17 games for Washington and led
- 10:45Speaker 1: the NFL in pass attempts.
- 10:50Speaker 4: That's Marcus Mariota. No?
- 10:53Speaker 1: He is the backup now. I guess he'll be the
- 10:55Speaker 1: starter this week.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:58Speaker 4: For Washington. Okay, next.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Bill Belichick currently coaches at my alma mater. Okay.
- 11:06Speaker 4: Backup at UNC.
- 11:08Speaker 1: No, he wasn't.
- 11:09Speaker 5: No, no, no.
- 11:09Speaker 4: He was a quarterback at UNC. He's a backup now.
- 11:11Speaker 1: There you go.
- 11:12Speaker 4: UNC, whose man I think is Drake May. Who played
- 11:18Speaker 4: at UNC? Backup all over in Washington. Oh, that's Sam Howell?
- 11:24Speaker 1: Yeah, Cowboys.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Wow! Sam Howell, the backup quarterback of the Cowboys. Let's
- 11:30Speaker 4: hope he never plays.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Everybody's hurt, man.
- 11:33Speaker 4: Dang. That's a fun game. Do you know who I
- 11:35Speaker 4: saw in Vegas one time? Probably the richest backup quarterback
- 11:39Speaker 4: who probably never played.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Former Missouri Tiger?
- 11:42Speaker 4: I think that's it. Who? Chase Daniel?
- 11:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Dude, I saw him in Vegas. Had no idea, but
- 11:48Speaker 4: the guys are like, ah, that's Chase Daniel.
- 11:50Speaker 7: Big dude?
- 11:51Speaker 4: Big dude.
- 11:51Speaker 6: Yeah, he looks big.
- 11:53Speaker 1: I would say the richest backup ever is, and he's
- 11:56Speaker 1: not a backup right now, he's a starter, is probably
- 11:58Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins. Remember, he was drafted behind RG3 and backed
- 12:02Speaker 1: up RG3. Same draft.
- 12:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I think RG3 was taken in the first. Maybe he
- 12:07Speaker 1: was taken in the fourth or fifth.
- 12:08Speaker 6: Yeah, I think fourth, yeah. Yeah.
- 12:11Speaker 1: He's not a backup now, so that's cheating.
- 12:13Speaker 4: And then Chase, he never started, I don't think, ever.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I don't think so either. I mean, he may have
- 12:19Speaker 1: spot started. I don't think he was ever a starting
- 12:21Speaker 1: quarterback when a season started.
- 12:22Speaker 4: But his contracts were in the millions.
- 12:25Speaker 1: You see how much Tom Brady makes a year? I
- 12:27Speaker 1: saw that dude. $ 37. 5 million a year.
- 12:30Speaker 4: He's the highest announcer. The highest paid announcer on TV.
- 12:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:35Speaker 6: That's crazy.
- 12:38Speaker 1: What's your point?
- 12:39Speaker 4: Like Tom Brady? I can name five better announcers.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Than Tom Brady.
- 12:43Speaker 5: Oh, you can name better.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:45Speaker 1: But he's Tom Brady. That's why he's paid so much.
- 12:48Speaker 1: He's the best quarterback of all time.
- 12:49Speaker 4: But are you watching Fox Sports just to listen to
- 12:52Speaker 4: Tom Brady?
- 12:53Speaker 1: I'm watching nothing to just hear anybody do a game. Fair.
- 12:58Speaker 1: So I don't watch games based on the announcers. I
- 13:00Speaker 1: don't get excited about the announcers. I think if I
- 13:04Speaker 1: go favorite announcing team... The only team that I can
- 13:08Speaker 1: really think of that I think sometimes is good is
- 13:10Speaker 1: if I do, like, watch Big Ten. Gus Johnson?
- 13:13Speaker 6: It's Gus.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Oh, Gus is awesome.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Yeah, and Joel Katz.
- 13:16Speaker 6: Yeah, they're good. I love Herb Street.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Yeah. That's the only team I can even think of, though,
- 13:22Speaker 1: that exists. Because I can also go, like, there are
- 13:26Speaker 1: certain guys that I like.
- 13:27Speaker 4: I love Al Michaels' voice.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Still? Still.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Love it, dude. It's pretty boring, though. The sound of
- 13:33Speaker 4: his voice just reminds me of a nighttime football game,
- 13:36Speaker 4: NFL football game.
- 13:36Speaker 1: That's your childhood speaking.
- 13:38Speaker 4: For sure.
- 13:39Speaker 6: Have you guys listened to J.J. Watt take over for
- 13:41Speaker 6: Romo yet?
- 13:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it's fine. Honestly, when I first heard it, I
- 13:45Speaker 4: forgot it was J.J. Watt, and I just thought, like, oh,
- 13:48Speaker 4: that sounds good, whatever that is, whoever that is.
- 13:50Speaker 1: I think a lot of the money they get paid
- 13:53Speaker 1: to is based on how they can be an ambassador
- 13:55Speaker 1: for the network.
- 13:56Speaker 6: For sure.
- 13:57Speaker 1: That's why you pay Tom Brady the big bucks because
- 13:59Speaker 1: you have Tom Brady and he's also doing interviews and
- 14:02Speaker 1: he's your guy.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Yeah. The face for you.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:05Speaker 6: Like he does power rankings for Fox every week on
- 14:07Speaker 6: the socials.
- 14:07Speaker 1: All that stuff. Cause I think Greg Olson's probably the best.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Yeah. Uh, as far as like, like Joe Buck, like
- 14:15Speaker 4: would you put, as far as an athlete who's doing it?
- 14:17Speaker 1: Joe Buck does play by play. Greg Olson is color.
- 14:23Speaker 4: So these are the color announcers.
- 14:24Speaker 1: The athletes are usually the color because they're adding something
- 14:27Speaker 1: to the game. They didn't come up in broadcasting.
- 14:29Speaker 5: Okay.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Okay.
- 14:31Speaker 1: But yeah, it makes 37 and a half million a
- 14:32Speaker 1: year just from that.
- 14:33Speaker 4: That's crazy. Do you guys like Collinsworth?
- 14:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I do. I know some people don't, but I
- 14:38Speaker 1: think he's become a character of himself. Yeah. Mostly because
- 14:42Speaker 1: other people have made him a character by doing the impression.
- 14:44Speaker 4: He is. Yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I can't do the impression.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Can you? Not really. I mean, he talks like this.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Kinda you do, yeah.
- 14:52Speaker 6: A little bit.
- 14:54Speaker 4: No one's as good as Patrick Mahomes to me.
- 14:59Speaker 1: The only impression I feel like I can do now
- 15:00Speaker 1: by hearing it a lot is this one.
- 15:02Speaker 4: Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah. The Count?
- 15:06Speaker 1: The Count, yeah, yeah.
- 15:06Speaker 4: From Sesame Street?
- 15:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I listen to a lot of kids' music.
- 15:08Speaker 5: Oh, what the heck? I was thinking announcer.
- 15:11Speaker 4: No, no, no, no. I got none.
- 15:13Speaker 1: None in that one. The only thing I can kind
- 15:15Speaker 1: of do is ah, ah, ah, ah.
- 15:17Speaker 4: The Count. That's good.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Because we listen to those Sesame Street songs.
- 15:19Speaker 4: That's good.
- 15:20Speaker 1: And the number songs. So, yeah, what's the game? You
- 15:25Speaker 1: can't do your own team. What's the game you're looking
- 15:27Speaker 1: forward to this weekend?
- 15:29Speaker 6: Hmm.
- 15:31Speaker 1: I think Texas and.
- 15:31Speaker 4: Tennessee for me. That's what I mean.
- 15:32Speaker 1: College.
- 15:33Speaker 4: College. Texas, Tennessee.
- 15:35Speaker 1: But it did college or pro.
- 15:37Speaker 4: I know, dude. I can't think of any other game
- 15:39Speaker 4: than mine. Than Rio de Janeiro. That sucks. That they're
- 15:46Speaker 4: playing over there?
- 15:46Speaker 1: Yeah, the game's never real.
- 15:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 6: I was listening to a podcast the other day. They
- 15:51Speaker 6: were saying that that field is pretty bad, too.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Well, yeah. Well, then it's a thing, too. When you
- 15:55Speaker 4: play these soccer stadiums and you're dealing with turf that's
- 15:58Speaker 4: meant for soccer.
- 15:59Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 4: It's not football turf. Slipping and sliding.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Ah.
- 16:06Speaker 4: One.
- 16:10Speaker 6: The Rams and Broncos should be good Sunday night.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I just don't care that much.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I care about the Cowboys and Ravens. Yep. There's a
- 16:20Speaker 1: few good college football games this weekend.
- 16:22Speaker 4: Arkansas, Tulsa.
- 16:23Speaker 1: It can't be my own team.
- 16:24Speaker 4: I'll pick it for you.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Thank you. If we lose that one.
- 16:27Speaker 4: It's Trouble City. Yeah.
- 16:30Speaker 6: Ole Miss, Florida.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Oh, I like that one.
- 16:32Speaker 7: Interesting.
- 16:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 16:33Speaker 6: Because Florida is like, okay, are they going to be
- 16:35Speaker 6: pretty good this year? And then Ole Miss coming off
- 16:37Speaker 6: that high, it's like, can they do it on the
- 16:39Speaker 6: road in Florida now?
- 16:43Speaker 4: I want Barry Odom to beat Notre Dame. That would
- 16:45Speaker 4: be cool.
- 16:45Speaker 1: That would be cool.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Like, I want that.
- 16:48Speaker 1: The only coaching friend that I have that's winning right
- 16:50Speaker 1: now is the App State coach. I was texting him,
- 16:54Speaker 1: Dal Loggins, the 3-0.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Really?
- 16:56Speaker 4: I don't watch a lot of them unless they're playing
- 16:58Speaker 4: late night.
- 17:00Speaker 1: You mean you don't bet on them? I think you
- 17:01Speaker 1: said that wrong.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I was texting with him the other day, and they're 3-0.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Everybody else is struggling, and all my friends that coach
- 17:11Speaker 1: teams are like the low end of the NIL pool.
- 17:13Speaker 6: Hey, he's a fairly new friend, but Colin Klein, Kansas State,
- 17:16Speaker 6: they're doing pretty good.
- 17:17Speaker 1: But that's just somebody I've interviewed. That's not a friend.
- 17:20Speaker 1: I don't have Colin Klein's number. I don't text Colin Klein.
- 17:22Speaker 4: We hung out with him for a solid hour and
- 17:23Speaker 4: a half, right?
- 17:26Speaker 1: Who are you talking about?
- 17:27Speaker 4: Colin Klein, Kansas State.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Okay, think about what you're saying.
- 17:34Speaker 4: We hung out with Colin Klein? Wait, did we?
- 17:37Speaker 1: No.
- 17:37Speaker 4: Oh, was that the old coach?
- 17:39Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 17:39Speaker 4: What was his name?
- 17:40Speaker 1: Chris.
- 17:41Speaker 4: Chris Klein. Wasn't there a Klein? I swear we hung
- 17:45Speaker 4: out with a Klein.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Name's close.
- 17:48Speaker 6: Probably at some point we did.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Oh, Chris Kleinman. Yeah.
- 17:51Speaker 6: Is that it?
- 17:52Speaker 5: That is close, yeah.
- 17:54Speaker 4: I'm just going a deeper hole, man.
- 17:56Speaker 6: I ain't kidding.
- 18:00Speaker 3: All right.
- 18:01Speaker 1: If you guys get bad service, do you still tip 20%?
- 18:06Speaker 4: I do. Mostly because my wife makes me. I feel
- 18:10Speaker 4: like I want to tip them more because it's bad service,
- 18:14Speaker 4: but no, my wife just won't let me do that.
- 18:17Speaker 1: You want to tip them less?
- 18:18Speaker 4: Less, I mean. Yeah, less.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:20Speaker 5: Yeah. Same. A base 20.
- 18:22Speaker 6: Because I usually do more than 20 if it's good.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Dang, baller.
- 18:25Speaker 7: Like 21.
- 18:25Speaker 6: How high?
- 18:26Speaker 7: 21?
- 18:26Speaker 4: What about you, though? You're a different kind of tipper.
- 18:30Speaker 6: Yeah, you're like 50.
- 18:34Speaker 1: More. Percent? Yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Oh, you've done 100%.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Most times.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:38Speaker 1: It depends what the bill is. If I go and
- 18:40Speaker 1: it's a dinner where I'm paying for like six or
- 18:42Speaker 1: eight people, that almost never happens because I don't go
- 18:43Speaker 1: to dinner with people. But if it's like that, I'm
- 18:45Speaker 1: definitely not going to do 100% of that bill. But
- 18:47Speaker 1: if it's... A $ 60 or $ 70 bill, I'll do another
- 18:51Speaker 1: $ 60 or $ 70 on it.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Dang.
- 18:53Speaker 1: We went to a restaurant the other day, and I
- 18:55Speaker 1: forget that that's rare, right?
- 19:02Speaker 3: What?
- 19:03Speaker 4: Tipping that much? Yeah. It's very rare.
- 19:05Speaker 1: We went to a restaurant to eat before Brooks and
- 19:09Speaker 1: Dunn the other night. We had a baby, so we
- 19:11Speaker 1: don't almost know going out at all. And we go
- 19:14Speaker 1: and eat at this place, and the bill was like $ 80,
- 19:16Speaker 1: so I tipped $ 80 on top of it. And the
- 19:18Speaker 1: waiter came over and I thought I was in trouble
- 19:20Speaker 1: after we had paid. And he's like, hey man. I
- 19:22Speaker 1: was like, what? He's like, I just want to say
- 19:24Speaker 1: thank you.
- 19:24Speaker 4: I was like, for what?
- 19:27Speaker 1: He was like, no, the tip. I was like, oh
- 19:28Speaker 1: my God. I didn't know what happened.
- 19:31Speaker 6: Wait, I want to know, you went out to dinner
- 19:33Speaker 6: and your bill was only 80 bucks. That's what happens
- 19:35Speaker 6: when you don't drink alcohol.
- 19:36Speaker 4: That's exactly what happens when you don't drink alcohol.
- 19:38Speaker 5: That's awesome.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Because I don't think it was much more than that.
- 19:40Speaker 1: We wouldn't drink at all either. Because I started to go,
- 19:42Speaker 1: maybe I low-balled that, but I don't think so. Two
- 19:44Speaker 1: people just having a meal and we had like chips
- 19:47Speaker 1: and guac. It's about 80, 85 bucks a day.
- 19:50Speaker 4: So stupid. You can turn an $ 80 meal where you
- 19:53Speaker 4: have a lot of food, appetizers, entrees, like you said, chips, whatever.
- 19:59Speaker 4: But if you put alcohol on that, you're looking at $ 150, $ 200.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Because they're jacking the prices up of the alcohol, too, right? Yeah.
- 20:05Speaker 6: Yeah, and if you go to a nice place, I mean,
- 20:06Speaker 6: you can't get a decent drink for under $ 15.
- 20:08Speaker 4: I got a question for you guys.
- 20:10Speaker 1: God dang.
- 20:11Speaker 4: Really?
- 20:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I would not go out to eat. I'd not order
- 20:14Speaker 1: alcohol at dinner.
- 20:14Speaker 6: That's why you get the buzz going before, and then
- 20:16Speaker 6: you just have one drink.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Oh, you pregame before dinner?
- 20:18Speaker 6: I mean, it depends on what the night's going to entail.
- 20:21Speaker 4: My wife ordered a $ 15 drink the other day when
- 20:24Speaker 4: we went to dinner, and I was like, wow, that's
- 20:26Speaker 4: a lot. She gets it. She hates it. So she's like,
- 20:30Speaker 4: this is not good. And I said, well, just send
- 20:33Speaker 4: it back. She's like, no, no, no. I ordered it.
- 20:34Speaker 4: You know, like I ordered it. I got to drink it.
- 20:36Speaker 1: What was not good about it?
- 20:37Speaker 4: It wasn't what she thought it was.
- 20:39Speaker 1: So it was her fault.
- 20:40Speaker 4: I mean, she ordered it thinking the description on the
- 20:43Speaker 4: menu sounded like something she would like.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Did it match the description on the menu?
- 20:47Speaker 4: Yes. I would say it did.
- 20:49Speaker 5: Okay.
- 20:49Speaker 4: And then she'd take a sip and be like, oh,
- 20:51Speaker 4: it's so bad. So she didn't even finish it. She
- 20:53Speaker 4: tried to drink it. She didn't even finish it. Still
- 20:55Speaker 4: paid 15 bucks.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I would think if it met the expectation, you still
- 21:01Speaker 1: pay for it. If you ordered it and it didn't,
- 21:03Speaker 1: it didn't have whatever it said it had in it,
- 21:06Speaker 1: or it didn't have one of the, like, fruit, it
- 21:08Speaker 1: wasn't fruit. If something led you to think it was
- 21:12Speaker 1: something else, I think you can go, hey, oh, this
- 21:14Speaker 1: really wasn't what I thought it was going to be.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I think you can send it back. But it's like
- 21:18Speaker 1: if you order a well-done hamburger and it comes well-done,
- 21:21Speaker 1: it's exactly, and you eat a third of it. You
- 21:23Speaker 1: don't go, ah... Unless it's messed up.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Well, what if it tastes bad, though? What if it's like, ah.
- 21:27Speaker 1: If there's something messed up about it, yes.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:30Speaker 1: But you know what a hamburger tastes like? It tastes
- 21:31Speaker 1: like a normal hamburger.
- 21:32Speaker 4: You've had millions of them.
- 21:33Speaker 6: Then you just know, next time you come here, I'm
- 21:34Speaker 6: not getting a hamburger.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Yeah, that's tough, though, because that's so expensive for a drink.
- 21:37Speaker 4: I know. I hated it.
- 21:39Speaker 6: Did you try it?
- 21:39Speaker 4: I did try it, and I didn't like it either.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Because usually, if I like it, I'm like, well, just
- 21:43Speaker 4: give it to me. I'll drink it.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:44Speaker 4: But what about, like, because we went to an Italian restaurant,
- 21:47Speaker 4: and half the time I look at the menu, I'm like,
- 21:49Speaker 4: I don't know what all these words are. How risky
- 21:51Speaker 4: do you get on a menu?
- 21:55Speaker 1: I will take a picture of the menu and put
- 21:58Speaker 1: it into ChatGPT.
- 22:00Speaker 4: No way.
- 22:02Speaker 1: And say, break this down for me. Tell me exactly
- 22:04Speaker 1: what it is. I don't know what some of this means.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Dude, that's next level.
- 22:08Speaker 1: It doesn't feel next level to me because I do
- 22:09Speaker 1: it so often with everything. So it's not risky to
- 22:13Speaker 1: me because I don't want to get food I hate
- 22:15Speaker 1: because I'm so impatient. I like to get there. I
- 22:17Speaker 1: don't like to order food. whatever drinks and you want
- 22:21Speaker 1: to do appetizers. Okay. I want to sit down and
- 22:23Speaker 1: order everything at once. And then when I'm done eating,
- 22:25Speaker 1: I like to leave. And so I don't want to
- 22:28Speaker 1: risk messing up my food order and then having to
- 22:30Speaker 1: order something else. So yeah, I don't, no risk.
- 22:35Speaker 6: That's going to be good when you, cause the baby's
- 22:37Speaker 6: not eating solid food or anything yet, but when he,
- 22:39Speaker 6: now is she, okay.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Well, when you do take her out, we have steak
- 22:42Speaker 1: every Tuesday, a tomahawk.
- 22:45Speaker 6: And you've got to be efficient with the baby. As
- 22:47Speaker 6: soon as we sit down and we go out with
- 22:48Speaker 6: the babies, we order them whatever, chicken nuggets and fries
- 22:52Speaker 6: or whatever.
- 22:52Speaker 4: Because you know you have a certain amount of time.
- 22:53Speaker 6: Yeah, for them. And then when the waiter comes back,
- 22:56Speaker 6: then we order our food. But for them, you know
- 22:58Speaker 6: you've got to do it now because as soon as
- 23:00Speaker 6: they start losing it and they don't have food in
- 23:01Speaker 6: front of them, it's over.
- 23:03Speaker 4: Do you guys ever walk to the table and scope
- 23:05Speaker 4: out the food that people are eating and be like, ooh,
- 23:07Speaker 4: I want that?
- 23:08Speaker 1: No, because I don't want people looking at my food,
- 23:10Speaker 1: but my wife does. Really? She'll see something somebody's eating
- 23:12Speaker 1: and she's so warm to people anyway. She'll be like, hey,
- 23:15Speaker 1: excuse me, what are you guys eating there?
- 23:16Speaker 4: And I'm like, oh, look, oh my God, oh my God,
- 23:17Speaker 4: oh my God.
- 23:17Speaker 1: That's awkward. And then it's such a friendly exchange. Like,
- 23:20Speaker 1: oh yeah, this is the tapioca. And she's like, oh,
- 23:22Speaker 1: it's like so good. I'm going to get that.
- 23:23Speaker 4: Okay.
- 23:24Speaker 1: And I'm just like, oh my God, oh my God,
- 23:25Speaker 1: why are you bothering them? But same with having our
- 23:27Speaker 1: picture taken by people.
- 23:29Speaker 4: We places.
- 23:29Speaker 1: And if she wants like, how would you get a,
- 23:31Speaker 1: have a picture taken of us? And I'm like, oh no,
- 23:33Speaker 1: I don't want to ask anybody. And she'll be like, hey,
- 23:34Speaker 1: excuse me, would you mind taking it? And they're like,
- 23:35Speaker 1: I would love to.
- 23:36Speaker 4: Yeah, people don't mind.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I wouldn't, I hate bothering people.
- 23:39Speaker 4: If somebody asks you, like, hey, could you take this
- 23:41Speaker 4: picture for me? Yeah, no problem.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Dude, I'll lay on the ground on my stomach, army
- 23:46Speaker 1: crawling to get the perfect angle.
- 23:47Speaker 4: Steven Spielberg.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I'm climbing trees. I'm like, no problem. But I don't
- 23:52Speaker 1: like asking. I feel like I'm putting people out.
- 23:56Speaker 4: So, yeah.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I got a text just now from the Tulsa athletic director.
- 24:01Speaker 4: Uh-oh, he's talking crap?
- 24:04Speaker 1: Well, I know him because when I bought the outfield
- 24:06Speaker 1: for DJ. Yeah. And so he said, I'm not sure
- 24:12Speaker 1: if you're going to be at the game, but I'd
- 24:14Speaker 1: like to say hello and thank you in person. We've
- 24:16Speaker 1: only talked on the phone a few times. I say
- 24:17Speaker 1: I won't be early. This will be the golf tournament
- 24:19Speaker 1: or spring. Looking forward to it. I thought he meant
- 24:22Speaker 1: softball game.
- 24:23Speaker 4: No, I meant softball.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Because they're playing winter.
- 24:25Speaker 4: Where are they playing? Are they playing in Arkansas?
- 24:27Speaker 1: They're playing in Arkansas, yeah. And he said, my bad.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Should have been more specific. I'm coming to Fayetteville with
- 24:32Speaker 1: the football team on Saturday. I was thinking you may
- 24:33Speaker 1: be there.
- 24:35Speaker 4: Are they playing softball right now?
- 24:36Speaker 1: Yeah, they're playing like winter ball.
- 24:38Speaker 4: Oh, I didn't realize that.
- 24:39Speaker 1: They play area, JUCOs, and just to get some reps in.
- 24:44Speaker 6: I saw hockey. Is there preseason going already?
- 24:47Speaker 2: I'm like, already?
- 24:47Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. I saw the Preds had a game.
- 24:49Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 24:50Speaker 4: Preds still here? The Preds are still in Nashville, man.
- 24:52Speaker 4: How about that? Dude, I forget about them. My kids
- 24:55Speaker 4: and I were talking about pro teams because my son's like, oh, man,
- 24:58Speaker 4: why do the Grizzlies live in Memphis? We should have
- 25:01Speaker 4: them here. I'm like, we've got the Titans.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 25:04Speaker 4: That's about it. And then we're just like, oh, crap,
- 25:06Speaker 4: I forgot we have the Preds. But if we had
- 25:09Speaker 4: a basketball team, they could easily move in there, right,
- 25:11Speaker 4: and play at Bridgestone?
- 25:12Speaker 1: I think there'll be a baseball team.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Before basketball?
- 25:15Speaker 1: I think we're a couple years from a baseball team. Yeah.
- 25:18Speaker 4: Dude, how do they get butts in those stadiums? What
- 25:20Speaker 4: do you mean? Because they play so many games.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that's generally the problem with baseball. 81 home games.
- 25:27Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a lot.
- 25:28Speaker 1: It's a lot. And it's also why day games, they're
- 25:30Speaker 1: not that full. They're just generally not.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Packed that's gonna be cool man with our schedule or
- 25:35Speaker 4: we're like done at one o'clock.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Yeah because i'm going to a baseball game when i
- 25:39Speaker 1: leave here why not i mean if i'm part owner
- 25:41Speaker 1: i'll probably get.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Over there a little bit yeah dude.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Because i will if the team happens here i will
- 25:46Speaker 1: be a minority owner that's awesome small minority.
- 25:49Speaker 6: But still part of the team still minority yeah uh
- 25:51Speaker 6: we do have.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Jeff out coming up and so we're gonna talk nfl
- 25:55Speaker 1: with him We'll talk about our teams.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Good show.

- 27:13Speaker 1: Hey, let's welcome in Jeff Howe, NFL insider for The
- 27:16Speaker 1: Athletic and reporter who's covered the league for both the
- 27:19Speaker 1: team level and the national level for nearly two decades.
- 27:22Speaker 1: He spent years covering the Patriots through Belichick and Brady
- 27:25Speaker 1: and then moved into a league-wide role. Now he's one
- 27:28Speaker 1: of the best in the business when it comes to
- 27:29Speaker 1: anything NFL-related. Jeff, appreciate you. I do want to start
- 27:33Speaker 1: first with the Giants. What are they going to do
- 27:36Speaker 1: at quarterback?
- 27:37Speaker 3: There's going to be a whole lot of praying because
- 27:39Speaker 3: there's not a lot that they can do. Their franchise,
- 27:42Speaker 3: the future of their franchise at the position has been
- 27:44Speaker 3: banked on Jackson Dart and his health.
- 27:47Speaker 5: And right now that's not available.
- 27:49Speaker 3: And as we saw the other night, Jameis Winston, when
- 27:52Speaker 3: he stepped in, of course, he's one of the highest
- 27:54Speaker 3: paid backups in the league. He had a pretty rough night,
- 27:57Speaker 3: of course, in difficult circumstances. I would expect him to
- 28:00Speaker 3: be better in the future. But at this point, You know,
- 28:03Speaker 3: the best thing they can do is just duct tape
- 28:05Speaker 3: this thing together and hope the Jackson Dart comes back
- 28:07Speaker 3: healthy whenever that happens to be.
- 28:09Speaker 1: And so I actually have read and it's a lot
- 28:11Speaker 1: of speculation that it's going to be a season ending injury.
- 28:14Speaker 1: So that could be next year. So do the Giants
- 28:16Speaker 1: still try at this point?
- 28:18Speaker 3: Well, they it's a it's an interesting question. And you
- 28:22Speaker 3: could ask the same thing about the commanders. You know,
- 28:25Speaker 3: other teams are going to be in the same boat, too.
- 28:27Speaker 3: And it's a valid concern, but I think, yes, absolutely,
- 28:30Speaker 3: they have to because John Harbaugh is there to reinstall
- 28:34Speaker 3: or really reconstruct the Giants' culture. And you cannot reconstruct
- 28:39Speaker 3: a culture with that coach being the face of it
- 28:43Speaker 3: and then just say, oh, it's time to lose.
- 28:45Speaker 5: It's time to start sitting all your best players.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Let's just try to cash in on the best possible
- 28:49Speaker 3: draft pick that you can get next spring. So the
- 28:52Speaker 3: Giants are going to do their level best.
- 28:54Speaker 5: And you know what?
- 28:55Speaker 3: Honestly, like, Yeah, Jackson Dart looked good. The Giants looked
- 28:58Speaker 3: good in the opener. But, you know, we don't know
- 29:00Speaker 3: for sure that this was all of a sudden going
- 29:02Speaker 3: to be a double digit win team. This was supposed
- 29:05Speaker 3: to be a building block type of season. So the
- 29:07Speaker 3: Giants can still use those, you know, build that foundation,
- 29:10Speaker 3: try to figure out who their core pieces are going
- 29:13Speaker 3: to be under Harbaugh in the future when Jackson Dart
- 29:16Speaker 3: does return. And if things really, really go south, if
- 29:20Speaker 3: they can really just belly flop and all of a
- 29:22Speaker 3: sudden they're in a position to draft a quarterback, that's
- 29:24Speaker 3: when the that's when the question is going to get
- 29:26Speaker 3: a lot more interesting.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Speaking of quarterbacks, I was reading your article on Brock Purdy.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Are we only underrating him because he's still Mr. Irrelevant
- 29:33Speaker 1: in our minds unfairly?
- 29:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, it's another great question. And I can
- 29:38Speaker 3: answer this from a little experience covering technology. Tom Brady
- 29:41Speaker 3: for his career. I mean, he didn't get a lot
- 29:43Speaker 3: of respect for a while. I mean, even after the
- 29:46Speaker 3: first three Super Bowls, his first four seasons as a starter.
- 29:51Speaker 3: still wasn't getting a lot of respect because he was
- 29:53Speaker 3: draft pick number 199. Because, you know, if you're ever
- 29:56Speaker 3: looking for somebody to win a 40-yard dash, you're not
- 29:58Speaker 3: going to pick Tom Brady first and you're not going to,
- 30:00Speaker 3: you know, you're not going to pick him one billionth.
- 30:03Speaker 3: But what it comes down to is, you know, eventually
- 30:06Speaker 3: you're going to start to shake these stereotypes or whatever
- 30:09Speaker 3: reputation people have, preconceived notion that people have of you.
- 30:13Speaker 3: The other thing working against Purdy, though, is that he's
- 30:15Speaker 3: playing for Kyle Shanahan's system. That's an extremely quarterback-friendly system.
- 30:20Speaker 3: It's not as unique as it was, let's say, five
- 30:23Speaker 3: to eight years ago. There's a lot more people running
- 30:26Speaker 3: this West Coast-style system in the league. So I think
- 30:29Speaker 3: people are looking at Kyle Shanahan as the real star.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Or they look at, hey, you know what? While Brock
- 30:34Speaker 3: Purdy was coming up and just trying to manage these games,
- 30:37Speaker 3: just trying to play turnover-free football, not lose games.
- 30:40Speaker 5: They leaned on these stars. So he was out of
- 30:43Speaker 5: the spotlight.
- 30:44Speaker 3: But now you look at the way the San Francisco
- 30:46Speaker 3: 49ers have had success Throughout the balance of his career,
- 30:49Speaker 3: I think he's made 47 starts. A lot of those
- 30:52Speaker 3: have been very impressive ones. When this team is healthy,
- 30:56Speaker 3: Purdy included, he can be the guy who actually drives
- 30:59Speaker 3: the success.
- 31:01Speaker 1: So Tyler Shuck has been playing really well, at least
- 31:05Speaker 1: the last half of last season. And I'd say a
- 31:07Speaker 1: game and a half so far this season. The Saints
- 31:10Speaker 1: almost beat the Lions. They did win that second game.
- 31:12Speaker 1: You know, he was hurt a lot in college, Oregon,
- 31:14Speaker 1: and ended up at Louisville. So there wasn't a real
- 31:17Speaker 1: high expectation on him performing, mostly, I think, because he
- 31:20Speaker 1: was old and because he'd been hurt so much. But
- 31:22Speaker 1: is some of that this guy stays hurt? Is some
- 31:25Speaker 1: of that gone at this point?
- 31:26Speaker 3: That is something that you certainly have to continue to
- 31:30Speaker 3: prove when there's a saying in the NFL for a reason,
- 31:32Speaker 3: hurt guys stay hurt. So you have to overcome that.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Jackson Dart is going to have to start to overcome that.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Brock Purdy had to overcome that to an extent. So
- 31:41Speaker 3: Tyler Shuck so far has been healthy, but that was
- 31:44Speaker 3: a story that followed him throughout college. And that's why
- 31:47Speaker 3: he slipped into the second round. Now, he came out
- 31:51Speaker 3: in a draft class that wasn't all that exciting. And
- 31:53Speaker 3: people didn't really know what to make of the group.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Shador Sanders got all the hype. Cam Ward got the
- 31:59Speaker 3: hype as the number one pick. Jackson Dart was like
- 32:02Speaker 3: that fringe guy who was exciting. He had a lot
- 32:04Speaker 3: more of a spotlight in college. Tyler Shuck was the
- 32:07Speaker 3: guy who flew completely under the radar. But the Saints
- 32:10Speaker 3: were doing work on him for quite a while, you know,
- 32:12Speaker 3: as they were on the entire quarterback class. I don't
- 32:14Speaker 3: want to make it sound like they were zeroing in
- 32:17Speaker 3: on Tyler Shuck and nobody else, but they were comfortable
- 32:19Speaker 3: with him and they had a late first round grade
- 32:22Speaker 3: on him going into that. And they were going to
- 32:24Speaker 3: be comfortable to move up from 40 if necessary, if
- 32:28Speaker 3: they thought the board was going to fall unfavorably.
- 32:31Speaker 5: So that's how much they really liked Shuck.
- 32:33Speaker 3: And what they saw last season for a team that
- 32:36Speaker 3: you want to talk about rebuilding a culture. I mean,
- 32:39Speaker 3: the Saints, I think before Shuck's, Shuck has won five
- 32:42Speaker 3: of his last seven starts. I think they were something
- 32:44Speaker 3: like five and 27 in in their previous 32 games.
- 32:47Speaker 3: It was something obscene like that. So he's doing this
- 32:51Speaker 3: for a team that really doesn't know how to win.
- 32:53Speaker 3: And that calming presence of somebody who's been around and
- 32:57Speaker 3: has the experience, you know, that draft age that everybody
- 33:00Speaker 3: mocked is now all of a sudden an asset because
- 33:03Speaker 3: he's such a great leader. And you're seeing people buy in.
- 33:06Speaker 3: They bought into him late last season. I think the
- 33:09Speaker 3: rest of the league, the outside world was slow to
- 33:12Speaker 3: catch on to Tyler Shuck. But we're really starting to
- 33:15Speaker 3: see now what the Saints were seeing start to evolve
- 33:18Speaker 3: midway through last season when he started to earn the
- 33:22Speaker 3: opportunity to start and then really took it and ran
- 33:25Speaker 3: with it.
- 33:26Speaker 1: You name-checked Shutter Sanders. Do you still feel like that
- 33:30Speaker 1: it's inevitable that he takes that job in Cleveland?
- 33:32Speaker 5: Yeah, he has to. They have to evaluate that.
- 33:34Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, the Browns looked surprisingly decent last week,
- 33:39Speaker 3: and Deshaun Watson did too.
- 33:41Speaker 5: Let's just look at the numbers.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Deshaun Watson is not going to be in Cleveland beyond
- 33:45Speaker 3: this season and barring some sort of mathematical miracle based
- 33:50Speaker 3: off of the salary and all that other stuff. So
- 33:52Speaker 3: they have to figure out what is going to be
- 33:54Speaker 3: the future of this organization. You know, they just changed coaches.
- 33:57Speaker 3: They have Todd Munkin in his first year. That's going
- 34:00Speaker 3: to put, like it always does, when a coach gets fired,
- 34:02Speaker 3: that's going to put the GM on the spotlight. That's
- 34:04Speaker 3: Andrew Berry. He drafted Shador Sanders. So these guys are
- 34:08Speaker 3: going to have to start at some point to figure
- 34:10Speaker 3: out what 2027 is.
- 34:12Speaker 5: Going to look like.
- 34:13Speaker 3: And it is going to be a potentially awesome draft
- 34:17Speaker 3: class for quarterbacks. So anybody who's in that no man's land,
- 34:21Speaker 3: if you're not going to make the playoffs.
- 34:23Speaker 5: Around.
- 34:23Speaker 3: October, November, once you start to see the writing on
- 34:26Speaker 3: the wall, you've got to evaluate these guys. And Shador
- 34:28Speaker 3: Sanders and maybe even Dylan Gabriel are going to be
- 34:31Speaker 3: part of that equation for throughout the rest of the
- 34:34Speaker 3: Cleveland Browns season.
- 34:35Speaker 1: One more quarterback question. If we go up to the commanders,
- 34:38Speaker 1: obviously they have an injury. So Marcus Mariota is going
- 34:40Speaker 1: to start. How long do they expect that to be
- 34:42Speaker 1: happening up there?
- 34:43Speaker 3: That's I mean, even if let's say it's a similar
- 34:46Speaker 3: right now, it's still I don't know.
- 34:48Speaker 5: It's still a mystery. So I'll start there.
- 34:50Speaker 3: But right now, I mean, even if you look at
- 34:52Speaker 3: last season when he came back the first time from
- 34:55Speaker 3: the dislocated elbow, I think he was out for about
- 34:57Speaker 3: three weeks. He aggravated the injury, making a tackle, and
- 35:01Speaker 3: then he injures it again the other night. This is
- 35:03Speaker 3: now three times that he's suffered an elbow injury, two
- 35:06Speaker 3: of them gruesome dislocations in his last four starts. You
- 35:11Speaker 3: want to talk about shaking an injury label. This is
- 35:14Speaker 3: one that's going to be extremely difficult. Think about when
- 35:16Speaker 3: a guy has a shoulder injury and it keeps popping
- 35:19Speaker 3: out when he makes a tackle. You see that with
- 35:21Speaker 3: defenders a lot. What is going to be the situation
- 35:23Speaker 3: with Jaden Daniels' elbow? If the medical staff has an honest,
- 35:27Speaker 3: I mean, they are having an honest conversation with the
- 35:29Speaker 3: coaching staff, the front office, they're going to figure out,
- 35:32Speaker 3: is his elbow loose?
- 35:33Speaker 5: Is this going to be a chronic issue?
- 35:35Speaker 3: Is this going to be something that every single time
- 35:37Speaker 3: he falls or braces his fall, they have to hold
- 35:40Speaker 3: their breath and hope that it's not going to dislocate
- 35:43Speaker 3: and cause him to miss whatever it is, two, three, four,
- 35:46Speaker 3: more weeks at a time, that is not a risk
- 35:49Speaker 3: that you can take with your franchise quarterback. And it's
- 35:52Speaker 3: got to be a real gut punch for an organization
- 35:55Speaker 3: like the Commanders. You look at the Rookie of the
- 35:57Speaker 3: Year season that Jaden Daniels had. Going into this season,
- 36:00Speaker 3: still people thought that he had the potential to be
- 36:03Speaker 3: one of the better quarterbacks in the league. All of
- 36:05Speaker 3: the potential athleticism, excitement to his game in the world.
- 36:09Speaker 3: But he just hasn't been able to stay on the field.
- 36:11Speaker 3: They lived this with Robert Griffin III last decade. Number
- 36:14Speaker 3: two pick in the draft. Offensive rookie of the year.
- 36:17Speaker 3: And then I think he was limited to 20 games
- 36:19Speaker 3: for the Commanders before they ended up parting. So the
- 36:23Speaker 3: Commanders don't want this to be the scenario with Jaden Daniels,
- 36:26Speaker 3: of course. But as I mentioned with Jackson Dart, I
- 36:29Speaker 3: think the commanders have to take this a little more
- 36:31Speaker 3: seriously going into the draft this spring. I'm not saying
- 36:34Speaker 3: the commanders have to draft a quarterback in the first round.
- 36:37Speaker 3: There's a long way between now and then until they
- 36:39Speaker 3: get to that point. But if they're going to be
- 36:40Speaker 3: honest with themselves and they're going to really stake the
- 36:43Speaker 3: future of this organization around Jaden Daniels, they got to
- 36:46Speaker 3: figure out if he is going to be reliable enough.
- 36:48Speaker 3: And I'm not saying that as a personality thing. That's
- 36:51Speaker 3: just the elbow. That's just the science. Is this elbow
- 36:54Speaker 3: going to be reliable?
- 36:54Speaker 5: A problem.
- 36:55Speaker 3: If it is, they've got to have a really blunt
- 36:58Speaker 3: look in the mirror going into draft season.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I was reading some of your camp intel before the
- 37:03Speaker 1: season started about the Bengals, and you were talking about
- 37:04Speaker 1: their defense and that you were a bit optimistic about
- 37:07Speaker 1: the Bengals' defense. Do you still feel that way through
- 37:10Speaker 1: two games?
- 37:10Speaker 4: They are 2-0.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Do you still feel pretty good about it?
- 37:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I have to admit, I'm even surprised
- 37:15Speaker 3: at how good the defense has looked the last two weeks.
- 37:17Speaker 3: I've heard really good things about them, and I heard
- 37:20Speaker 3: Joe Burrow had a really.
- 37:23Speaker 5: I don't want to say difficult. It's Joe Burrow. So
- 37:25Speaker 5: it's a relative term.
- 37:26Speaker 3: But a difficult training camp for his standards because that
- 37:29Speaker 3: defense was a complete mess for the last two seasons.
- 37:33Speaker 5: It was a mess and it was getting worse. So
- 37:35Speaker 5: for the fact.
- 37:36Speaker 3: The fact that it's actually turned around as quickly as
- 37:38Speaker 3: it has is impressive.
- 37:40Speaker 5: We'll see if it stays. But what I do like
- 37:42Speaker 5: is they can win up front now.
- 37:43Speaker 3: They have pass rushers. Dexter Lawrence had a rep. It
- 37:47Speaker 3: was a short yardage situation. It might have been a
- 37:49Speaker 3: fourth and short or something like that. Dexter Lawrence won
- 37:51Speaker 3: that rep the other day so fast that I.
- 37:54Speaker 5: Was like, oh my goodness.
- 37:55Speaker 3: This guy is still for real. He's still very motivated.
- 37:58Speaker 3: He can still take over games. Those Those interior guys
- 38:02Speaker 3: who can win any single, you know, I'm not saying
- 38:04Speaker 3: he's Aaron Donald in his prime or anything like that,
- 38:07Speaker 3: but those interior guys, when they can win as quickly
- 38:10Speaker 3: as Dexter Lawrence did in those money downs. And that's
- 38:12Speaker 3: a defense that has taken on more of an edge
- 38:15Speaker 3: and an attitude and you're seeing it. So I do
- 38:17Speaker 3: believe it's sustainable. I don't know if they're going to
- 38:19Speaker 3: be great for the balance of the remainder of the season.
- 38:22Speaker 3: But the fact that they're competent and they're supporting Joe
- 38:25Speaker 3: Burrow has got to be one of the most welcome
- 38:28Speaker 3: additions to the first two games of his season.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Chargers fans, are they right to panic?
- 38:35Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, they should. It's a really scary start.
- 38:40Speaker 3: And they have had some troubling starts in the past,
- 38:44Speaker 3: of course, for, you know, point to a number of
- 38:46Speaker 3: different reasons. But the offense looking as out of sorts
- 38:50Speaker 3: as it has against two teams that quite frankly, we
- 38:54Speaker 3: don't expect to be there at the end of the season.
- 38:56Speaker 3: For the offense to look that out of sorts is
- 39:00Speaker 3: not ideal. They have the pieces and, you know, Justin
- 39:04Speaker 3: Herbert is getting hit again. The protection hasn't been great.
- 39:08Speaker 3: The running game hasn't been consistent. The other scary thing
- 39:12Speaker 3: is the mistakes. There are so many self-inflicted mistakes. I
- 39:15Speaker 3: was looking at the drive charts. You know, you want
- 39:17Speaker 3: to look at the turnovers. I believe They're losing the
- 39:19Speaker 3: turnover battle through two games 5-1.
- 39:22Speaker 5: That's terrible. That's a recipe to go 0-2 in itself.
- 39:24Speaker 3: But the other thing that I don't like that I
- 39:27Speaker 3: think is a peek behind the curtain is the penalties
- 39:30Speaker 3: that they're not able to overcome and it's it's frequent
- 39:33Speaker 3: you know you look at the punts the boring offensive
- 39:36Speaker 3: possessions that they've had which to their standard right now
- 39:39Speaker 3: have been some of their better possessions uh based off
- 39:42Speaker 3: the sloppiness but you look at the penalties they're not
- 39:44Speaker 3: over able to overcome them so when they get into
- 39:46Speaker 3: second and you know beyond the chains third and long
- 39:50Speaker 3: they're not converting they're not able to dial up some
- 39:53Speaker 3: of these big plays that somebody like Justin Herbert should
- 39:56Speaker 3: have no problem being able to execute so I think
- 39:59Speaker 3: this is a deeper issue I think there is always
- 40:02Speaker 3: going to be a learning curve between a quarterback and
- 40:06Speaker 3: a new offensive coordinator especially two guys who have had
- 40:09Speaker 3: success in their fields so I You know, you have
- 40:12Speaker 3: to build in a little bit of patience, but the
- 40:14Speaker 3: fact that it's looked so sloppy with so many self-inflicted
- 40:18Speaker 3: mistakes that are continuing to pop up game after game,
- 40:21Speaker 3: two games, but game after game.
- 40:22Speaker 5: Against two subpar opponents is extremely troubling.
- 40:26Speaker 1: And a brutal schedule coming up. I mean, the next
- 40:30Speaker 1: six games are just awful. Like, they're just holding on
- 40:32Speaker 1: until they play the Jets in like a month and
- 40:34Speaker 1: a half. So that's a surprising 0-2 for me. A
- 40:37Speaker 1: surprising 2-0 for me is the Raiders. Now, is it luck?
- 40:40Speaker 1: Is it Kubiak? Is it Kubiak and Cousins? What do
- 40:44Speaker 1: you think the Raiders 2-0 means?
- 40:45Speaker 3: I think it means that they've played well through two games,
- 40:47Speaker 3: and they have. Now, again, they haven't played great opponents.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Some of that they deserve credit for, but Kubiak has
- 40:57Speaker 3: come in and really stabilized the coaching staff. Last season,
- 41:01Speaker 3: they had all sorts of problems. No further than necessary
- 41:05Speaker 3: than the offensive line. I mean, the offensive line might
- 41:08Speaker 3: have been the poorest coached group in the entire NFL
- 41:11Speaker 3: last season.
- 41:12Speaker 5: And that's not my opinion.
- 41:13Speaker 3: That is coming from people from other teams who studied
- 41:16Speaker 3: the Raiders. It just it was a bad situation. And
- 41:20Speaker 3: I think there were too many differing viewpoints. So now
- 41:22Speaker 3: you've got the regime kind of operating together and Kubiak
- 41:26Speaker 3: and Cousins. And, you know, you add some of the
- 41:28Speaker 3: bit of the culture elements to that. You're able to.
- 41:33Speaker 3: establish a running game that doesn't look like it's just
- 41:36Speaker 3: constantly in quicksand or running through mud.
- 41:40Speaker 5: So that's been a big start.
- 41:42Speaker 3: And I think you've got Kirk Cousins, who is able
- 41:46Speaker 3: to rely on his strengths. Their receivers are undermanned, not
- 41:52Speaker 3: high-quality receivers, certainly not a lot of depth there. But
- 41:57Speaker 3: you can rely on Ashton Gentry or Mike Washington or,
- 42:00Speaker 3: you know, Brock Bowers more as the season goes on.
- 42:03Speaker 3: And then sprinkle in some Trey Tucker and some Jalen Naylor.
- 42:06Speaker 3: So you've got a guy who is smart enough at
- 42:08Speaker 3: quarterback that he's not going to, you know, force things
- 42:12Speaker 3: that aren't there. And having that calming veteran presence has
- 42:15Speaker 3: helped them. You know, I think it's going to help
- 42:17Speaker 3: Fernando Mendoza. I was really impressed with the way Kirk
- 42:20Speaker 3: Cousins was talking to me about his mentorship of Mendoza
- 42:23Speaker 3: and the long game that they're playing there. But right
- 42:26Speaker 3: now in the short game, this is a team that
- 42:28Speaker 3: when you are really trying to rebuild the foundation, you know,
- 42:33Speaker 3: when you're at the early, the very early stages of rebuild,
- 42:36Speaker 3: like the Raiders are, the Dolphins, you know, other teams,
- 42:39Speaker 3: you just want to be difficult to play against. You
- 42:42Speaker 3: want other teams to walk away from that game and say,
- 42:44Speaker 3: you know what? That's a well-coached group. We had to
- 42:46Speaker 3: earn that win. Right now, nobody is earning anything against
- 42:49Speaker 3: the Raiders. I'm sorry, they're not able to beat the
- 42:52Speaker 3: Raiders or triumph or anything like that. And I think
- 42:55Speaker 3: eventually the Raiders will come back to earth. But right now,
- 42:58Speaker 3: they're doing things that you want a team that's rebuilding
- 43:01Speaker 3: to be able to do.
- 43:01Speaker 1: I'm going to ask you about two teams and then
- 43:03Speaker 1: we'll wrap. And just two teams to the guys here,
- 43:05Speaker 1: fans up on the show. So give me the floor
- 43:07Speaker 1: and the ceiling of the Patriots.
- 43:10Speaker 5: I know them well.
- 43:11Speaker 3: I think their ceiling is... extremely high because Drake May
- 43:15Speaker 3: has shown us that he can take over games and
- 43:18Speaker 3: he's not, you know, he's still a work in progress.
- 43:21Speaker 3: The game against Seattle was bad. He was shaking off
- 43:24Speaker 3: some things in the second game against Pittsburgh too. Drake
- 43:28Speaker 3: May is going to be one of the best quarterbacks
- 43:29Speaker 3: in the league. He's already very close to that level.
- 43:32Speaker 3: He's going to get better when the offensive line is better,
- 43:35Speaker 3: when everybody sort.
- 43:37Speaker 5: Of helps him a little bit more, when they get
- 43:38Speaker 5: a little healthier.
- 43:39Speaker 3: He's a guy who can play complimentary football when he
- 43:42Speaker 3: needs to, and he's a guy who can really put
- 43:44Speaker 3: the team on his back when he needs to. I
- 43:46Speaker 3: think right now you saw a guy who got a
- 43:48Speaker 3: little bored against the Seahawks. He made some really bad
- 43:51Speaker 3: mistakes and cost them a game in the opener, and
- 43:53Speaker 3: we'll see. If that's something that they're going to regret
- 43:56Speaker 3: as the season goes on. But I think they are
- 43:58Speaker 3: they have a high they have a high floor. And truly,
- 44:01Speaker 3: I think they have a high ceiling, too.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Is that Super Bowl ceiling?
- 44:05Speaker 3: I'm not picking them to get back there. I don't
- 44:07Speaker 3: think they're going to win it. But I think the
- 44:09Speaker 3: AFC is there to be had for some team that's going.
- 44:12Speaker 5: To get hot.
- 44:13Speaker 1: OK, the last team ceiling and floor Dallas Cowboys.
- 44:19Speaker 3: The ceiling isn't the ceiling always the Super Bowl in
- 44:21Speaker 3: Dallas and isn't the floor always I mean are they
- 44:24Speaker 3: what are they I apologize to one in one right
- 44:26Speaker 3: now so I guess the floor is one in 16
- 44:30Speaker 3: because let's be practical but you know that's that's a
- 44:33Speaker 3: doomsday situation I'm just trying to have some fun here
- 44:36Speaker 3: the the Cowboys are a team that We're going to
- 44:39Speaker 3: find out a whole lot about them this weekend. They
- 44:42Speaker 3: have spent so much time going into the Micah Parsons
- 44:45Speaker 3: trade and coming out of the Micah Parsons trade, talking
- 44:48Speaker 3: about how they want to be better on defense against
- 44:50Speaker 3: the run. Well, you got Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry
- 44:53Speaker 3: on Sunday or this weekend. So how good are you
- 44:56Speaker 3: against the run? They have some really good players up
- 44:59Speaker 3: front on the interior who can hold their own against
- 45:02Speaker 3: the run. I think they're better equipped, but we got
- 45:05Speaker 3: to see them pass this test. And if their defense
- 45:07Speaker 3: can be competent or complimentary and help Dak Prescott rather
- 45:12Speaker 3: than force Dak Prescott to go out and try to
- 45:14Speaker 3: win as many games and play perfectly as possible. You know,
- 45:18Speaker 3: if the defense can hold their own, then I think
- 45:20Speaker 3: the Cowboys are going to be a playoff team and
- 45:22Speaker 3: we'll see if they can finally win a game in January.
- 45:25Speaker 1: You can read his articles. on The Athletic. I'm a
- 45:27Speaker 1: big fan. You can follow him on Twitter, Jeff P.
- 45:29Speaker 4: Howe.
- 45:29Speaker 1: Jeff, thank you so much for the time, and hopefully
- 45:31Speaker 1: we'll talk to you again soon. Thank you.
- 45:33Speaker 5: I appreciate it. Thanks a lot for having me.
- 45:34Speaker 7: Thanks, Jeff.
- 45:41Speaker 1: If the Cowboys beat the Ravens, are the Cowboys back?
- 45:43Speaker 4: Yes.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Officially.
- 45:44Speaker 4: Officially, if we can beat the Ravens, dude, it's on.
- 45:49Speaker 4: It's on. You're going to see those odds go back up.
- 45:53Speaker 4: We're going to be number three again.
- 45:55Speaker 1: Up or down.
- 45:56Speaker 4: Well, I guess up in the list is the way
- 45:58Speaker 4: I see it. But I mean, dude, yeah, I think
- 46:00Speaker 4: the Ravens.
- 46:02Speaker 1: The Ravens are really good.
- 46:03Speaker 4: They're legit.
- 46:03Speaker 1: I like the Ravens. I hate that game's in Rio
- 46:06Speaker 1: de Janeiro.
- 46:08Speaker 4: I bet they hate that too.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Yeah, because whoever wins, if you lose, you go, well,
- 46:12Speaker 1: we had to travel down to South America.
- 46:15Speaker 5: Brazil, yeah.
- 46:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:16Speaker 4: What's crazy is they play at like 3 p.m.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Time zones are the same.
- 46:20Speaker 4: I know. It's just weird to even think that.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Because when Mike and I were in Costa Rica, we
- 46:24Speaker 1: were down there for a month. doing the show wasn't
- 46:27Speaker 1: hard for me because the time zones were exactly the same.
- 46:29Speaker 1: You just kind of draw a straight line and that's
- 46:32Speaker 1: where the time zones are. And it's kind of straight down.
- 46:34Speaker 4: That is weird.
- 46:35Speaker 6: I didn't know that. I was like, I was probably
- 46:36Speaker 6: like nine in the morning.
- 46:37Speaker 4: That's what I thought too. And I like really got
- 46:39Speaker 4: excited when it wasn't an 8am game.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm going to make a couple more future bets.
- 46:44Speaker 1: I do have this here from DraftKings. So the Rams
- 46:48Speaker 1: are the favorite right now at plus 650. Who do
- 46:52Speaker 1: you think is second overall?
- 46:54Speaker 4: Right now, where we stand, I mean, it has to be,
- 47:00Speaker 4: I would say it has to be the 49ers.
- 47:04Speaker 1: No, they are fifth. Buffalo is at two.
- 47:07Speaker 4: Oh, Buffalo, of course, yes.
- 47:09Speaker 1: The Ravens at three.
- 47:10Speaker 4: Wow.
- 47:12Speaker 1: The Seahawks at four. And the 49ers at five.
- 47:19Speaker 4: I'm shocked that the Seahawks are still up there like that.
- 47:22Speaker 1: They're winning without a quarterback. Yeah.
- 47:25Speaker 4: But they don't look great. They're winning. You know, a
- 47:29Speaker 4: win's a win, but I mean.
- 47:30Speaker 1: They've only played two weeks in the first game. Yeah.
- 47:32Speaker 1: I mean, they beat the freaking Patriots.
- 47:34Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 47:34Speaker 1: And they're good.
- 47:35Speaker 4: That was week one.
- 47:36Speaker 6: Yeah, but they smoked the Cardinals.
- 47:38Speaker 4: We saw the Cardinals, really.
- 47:40Speaker 1: But also, they won the Super Bowl with basically the
- 47:43Speaker 1: same team.
- 47:44Speaker 4: I know. I just feel like that's where the Cowboys
- 47:45Speaker 4: should be, in that spot right there.
- 47:48Speaker 1: At four?
- 47:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:50Speaker 1: They're not in the top 10.
- 47:51Speaker 4: We just beat the Commanders, dude.
- 47:52Speaker 1: They're not in the top 10. Spanked them. We barely
- 47:55Speaker 1: beat the Commanders without the quarterback.
- 47:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:00Speaker 1: So one, two, three, four, five. The Chiefs are at six.
- 48:03Speaker 1: The Eagles at seven. The same division. The Eagles are
- 48:06Speaker 1: over the Cowboys.
- 48:06Speaker 4: I know. That's so stupid.
- 48:08Speaker 1: The Bengals at eight.
- 48:11Speaker 4: How are they? Go back to the Eagles. They barely
- 48:14Speaker 4: beat the Titans. And you're going to leave them there? Obviously,
- 48:17Speaker 4: they have problems.
- 48:19Speaker 1: It's a week-to-week league.
- 48:20Speaker 4: I know. I know. But I just feel like the Eagles,
- 48:23Speaker 4: we already had question marks in front of the Eagles
- 48:25Speaker 4: before the season started.
- 48:26Speaker 1: What was your question?
- 48:27Speaker 4: Are they going to be any good?
- 48:28Speaker 6: Well, that's every team.
- 48:30Speaker 4: I didn't think they were going to be very good. Dude,
- 48:34Speaker 4: the Titans almost beat them. It was a stupid mistake
- 48:38Speaker 4: why the Eagles won. So I feel like that's just
- 48:41Speaker 4: an overreaction.
- 48:43Speaker 6: It's also 200 degrees on the field. There are some
- 48:45Speaker 6: weird things going on.
- 48:46Speaker 4: Head coach on needing IVs.
- 48:48Speaker 1: The Eagles, to me, were just who they're going to
- 48:49Speaker 1: throw the ball to for the most part.
- 48:53Speaker 6: I saw they got Ertz back. Did you see that?
- 48:55Speaker 1: They did.
- 48:56Speaker 4: Like they brought him back out of retirement?
- 48:58Speaker 1: I knew that he was back because I saw him
- 48:59Speaker 1: pop up on the fantasy waiver wire.
- 49:01Speaker 3: Yes.
- 49:01Speaker 4: Oh, because Goddard's out.
- 49:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 49:03Speaker 4: Got it.
- 49:05Speaker 1: So the Bengals, 9 and 10 are the Lions and
- 49:07Speaker 1: the Broncos.
- 49:08Speaker 6: Man, I don't trust the Lions at all.
- 49:10Speaker 3: No.
- 49:11Speaker 1: Well, they're playing defensively without right now. Yeah. I'm going
- 49:15Speaker 1: to make a couple future bets here. Do you do
- 49:19Speaker 1: futures at all? No. Or do you just feel like
- 49:20Speaker 1: that's wasted money so you can't have it right now?
- 49:22Speaker 4: Correct. That's exactly what I was going to say because
- 49:25Speaker 4: I don't want to wait that long to get paid.
- 49:26Speaker 1: So you're just not good at delayed gratification in any way.
- 49:31Speaker 4: That's right because, man, I've seen some bets where I'm
- 49:34Speaker 4: like even for like You know, the Lions to make
- 49:37Speaker 4: the playoffs or whatever. Or I look at Minnesota to
- 49:41Speaker 4: clinch their division. Looks like a pretty solid bet, but
- 49:45Speaker 4: that's way too long to wait for it.
- 49:47Speaker 6: But it makes it more fun to watch throughout the season.
- 49:49Speaker 1: I'd agree with that. That's why, because I have the Cowboys.
- 49:52Speaker 1: I'm trying to find.
- 49:54Speaker 6: Like, I'm watching Dak closer than ever this year because
- 49:56Speaker 6: I have that future on him winning the MVP.
- 49:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 49:58Speaker 1: And you did bet it. I did bet it. Yeah,
- 50:00Speaker 1: I bet that.
- 50:01Speaker 6: And then I bet Malachi Toney to win the Heisman future.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Okay, and he's like fifth right now, huh?
- 50:07Speaker 6: Yeah, and their schedule is just so bad that he
- 50:08Speaker 6: has a good chance.
- 50:09Speaker 1: It's tough, too, because their quarterback's probably going to get
- 50:12Speaker 1: it before him. It's tough to be a receiver and
- 50:14Speaker 1: to get it. I mean, no, the receiver from Alabama
- 50:20Speaker 1: that won it a few years ago.
- 50:21Speaker 6: Oh, Devontae Smith?
- 50:23Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 50:24Speaker 1: It's rare that a receiver gets it over a quarterback
- 50:26Speaker 1: because the quarterback's got to get him the ball.
- 50:27Speaker 5: Yes.
- 50:28Speaker 1: And every time he does score a touchdown, he does
- 50:29Speaker 1: the Heisman pose. But I think their quarterback is second
- 50:33Speaker 1: or third overall right now. Yeah, yeah. Okay, so I'm
- 50:36Speaker 1: going to go with.
- 50:40Speaker 1: I'm going to bet a Baltimore future. They're plus $ 950.
- 50:43Speaker 1: I'm going to bet $ 250.
- 50:46Speaker 4: Dang, that's hefty.
- 50:47Speaker 1: It's not as much as my Cowboy one.
- 50:49Speaker 4: How much is your Cowboy's? $ 500?
- 50:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:50Speaker 4: Dang. But you got that when they were higher.
- 50:54Speaker 1: The Cowboy one's for like $ 13, 000 if they win.
- 50:56Speaker 4: I love that.
- 50:58Speaker 1: This one's $ 250 to win $ 950 or so. So I'm
- 51:00Speaker 1: going to put that there. And then I'm also going
- 51:02Speaker 1: to put a future on the Broncos. I meant to
- 51:05Speaker 1: do that when Amy psychically predicted them anyway.
- 51:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:08Speaker 6: Feel good about that?
- 51:10Speaker 1: I just will feel bad if they end up winning
- 51:12Speaker 1: and I didn't do it more than I feel good
- 51:15Speaker 1: about it.
- 51:17Speaker 4: I didn't think she was seeing the Broncos, so therefore
- 51:20Speaker 4: I didn't bet it.
- 51:21Speaker 1: That's not why, because you could have bet it on anybody.
- 51:23Speaker 6: You just don't do futures.
- 51:24Speaker 4: Do you ever get to the end of the season
- 51:26Speaker 4: and forget that you bet all those futures?
- 51:27Speaker 1: No, because I always watch them. And I wish they
- 51:31Speaker 1: would wipe them away once the team's eliminated. They never do.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Once the team sucks, yeah, it stays open. That drives
- 51:37Speaker 1: me crazy. Man, I almost want to put something on Jacksonville.
- 51:41Speaker 6: Well, they're going to lose this week, so don't.
- 51:44Speaker 4: They're playing the Patriots?
- 51:44Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, if I do the Broncos and I put
- 51:46Speaker 1: $ 250 on it, that's for $ 5, 000. $ 5, 200. Okay, I'm in.
- 51:51Speaker 1: So right now, I have $ 1, 000 worth of futures on
- 51:55Speaker 1: three teams. None of the favorites, though. I have the
- 51:58Speaker 1: Cowboys and the Broncos. And the Ravens.
- 52:01Speaker 4: Do you ever put money on the Bills? Because, I mean, eventually, right? Like, eventually.
- 52:07Speaker 1: I am not going to bet the Rams, the Bills,
- 52:10Speaker 1: because the odds just aren't good enough for me to
- 52:13Speaker 1: be excited about.
- 52:14Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 52:14Speaker 6: You don't have any NFC.
- 52:16Speaker 1: They're all AFC, huh? Cowboys.
- 52:19Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 52:19Speaker 5: Duh.
- 52:20Speaker 6: I was just hearing the Ravens.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. Okay, so I'm in there. My Cowboy bet, though.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Let's see what they are and what they were. So,
- 52:27Speaker 1: right now, the Cowboys are plus 2400. Whenever I bet it.
- 52:31Speaker 4: Less than that. 15 or something?
- 52:34Speaker 1: It was plus 2,500. So it's slightly better.
- 52:39Speaker 4: Wow.
- 52:40Speaker 1: They won a game since then.
- 52:41Speaker 4: Yeah, they won a game.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Remember, I bet it before the first game.
- 52:44Speaker 4: What are your thoughts about the Giants now?
- 52:47Speaker 1: They're done. They're toast. Is James Winston going to play
- 52:50Speaker 1: quarterback for them?
- 52:50Speaker 4: Yes.
- 52:51Speaker 1: You might as well just lose. Just lose and get
- 52:53Speaker 1: a draft pick.
- 52:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 52:55Speaker 6: And then now it's like, can Jackson start ever stay healthy?
- 52:57Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, he has bought residency in
- 53:01Speaker 1: a blue tent.
- 53:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:02Speaker 1: He tried to come back in the game.
- 53:04Speaker 4: Crazy.
- 53:04Speaker 1: They had to take his jersey from him. Yeah. He
- 53:06Speaker 1: was trying to get back in the game.
- 53:07Speaker 4: Yeah, that guy's crazy. Him and Scataboo, man, they're just nuts.
- 53:10Speaker 1: How long is he going to last? The Giants are
- 53:12Speaker 1: now going to be terrible this year. And what sucks
- 53:14Speaker 1: is you had to play them before they got bad.
- 53:17Speaker 4: Yep, because we could have been 2-0.
- 53:19Speaker 1: So the Bengals, to win the AFC North, have a
- 53:23Speaker 1: better odds to win that division than the Ravens do.
- 53:28Speaker 4: I mean, the Bengals have always been good. I have
- 53:30Speaker 4: no doubt in the Bengals.
- 53:31Speaker 1: Well, they've been bad the last couple years because Burrow's
- 53:33Speaker 1: been hurt. Correct.
- 53:34Speaker 4: So that's what you're betting on.
- 53:36Speaker 6: And their defense looked a little better in the first
- 53:37Speaker 6: two weeks.
- 53:38Speaker 1: Eagles are still the favorites to win in your division
- 53:40Speaker 1: over there.
- 53:40Speaker 4: That's stupid.
- 53:41Speaker 1: What?
- 53:41Speaker 4: I'll take that back. I'm going to do that right now.
- 53:43Speaker 4: You know what? My first future ever. I'm going to
- 53:45Speaker 4: take that one.
- 53:45Speaker 6: Cowboys to win.
- 53:46Speaker 4: Yes, to win the division.
- 53:47Speaker 2: All right.
- 53:47Speaker 6: Bobby, your future is toast now.
- 53:50Speaker 4: Do you want to owe me to do it?
- 53:51Speaker 1: No, do whatever you want to do.
- 53:52Speaker 5: It's going to jinx your bet.
- 53:53Speaker 4: Whatever you want to do.
- 53:54Speaker 1: The wait is over. Football is here, and so is DraftKings.
- 53:57Speaker 1: DraftKings is now live in all 50 states, one app,
- 53:59Speaker 1: every sport nationwide. Looking at the college games, Texas at
- 54:04Speaker 1: number 14, Tennessee. That's an 11 o'clock game. That's going
- 54:07Speaker 1: to be a fun one. Like, I hate Texas so much.
- 54:12Speaker 1: And I would like for Tennessee to beat them, but
- 54:14Speaker 1: not by much. I don't like Tennessee either, but I
- 54:18Speaker 1: dislike Tennessee less than I hate Texas.
- 54:21Speaker 4: They're not both wearing orange, are they?
- 54:24Speaker 1: No, but in that Lane Kiffin book that I read,
- 54:27Speaker 1: they had only ever worn two jerseys, home and away,
- 54:30Speaker 1: no screwing around with any sort of different colors. And
- 54:34Speaker 1: they'd never worn black before ever. And that Halloween game,
- 54:40Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin secretly had those black jerseys made. The team
- 54:44Speaker 1: didn't even know. They went out in warmups in their
- 54:45Speaker 1: normal jerseys. They went back in. They went to like
- 54:48Speaker 1: a Dick's Sporting Goods or something and had them made.
- 54:51Speaker 1: And he was like, we got the black jerseys. And
- 54:53Speaker 1: they put them on. And when they came back out,
- 54:55Speaker 1: it was the first time they ever wore black. And
- 54:56Speaker 1: the crowd was like, oh, my God. And the team
- 54:58Speaker 1: was like, oh, my God. It's a really cool story.
- 55:00Speaker 4: That is really cool.
- 55:01Speaker 6: Those blacks are sweet.
- 55:03Speaker 1: I couldn't say enough good things about the book. And
- 55:06Speaker 1: I know we have John on with us every week.
- 55:09Speaker 1: But that's the only reason I read it, not the
- 55:10Speaker 1: only reason I liked it.
- 55:11Speaker 4: I asked Kevin this. Do you think Lane reads it?
- 55:14Speaker 1: There's a part of it where he sits with Lane.
- 55:16Speaker 1: Lane didn't want anything to do with it, obviously. Lane
- 55:17Speaker 1: does not talk with him about things for the book.
- 55:23Speaker 1: But there's a part where he's talking about, I was
- 55:24Speaker 1: just trying to sit down with Lane. And then Lane
- 55:27Speaker 1: ends up going, hey, let's talk. And it's him and
- 55:30Speaker 1: Lane's agent and Lane's other person. They're sitting at a
- 55:33Speaker 1: picnic table.
- 55:33Speaker 3: Wow.
- 55:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 55:34Speaker 4: That's cool.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Weird dude, man.
- 55:37Speaker 7: He is, huh?
- 55:38Speaker 1: Weird dude. Very awkward. Very insecure person. Also extremely confident
- 55:47Speaker 1: at the same time. And it got like his first
- 55:51Speaker 1: five jobs, even how he went to college, just because
- 55:53Speaker 1: of his dad. That's it. Complete nepotism. Not that he's
- 55:56Speaker 1: not great now, but those jobs were just given to
- 55:59Speaker 1: him because of the relationships that other people had with him.
- 56:02Speaker 6: I forgot how young he was with that Raiders job.
- 56:04Speaker 1: 31, I think.
- 56:05Speaker 6: Crazy.
- 56:06Speaker 5: Yeah, 31.
- 56:06Speaker 1: 31, head coach of the Raiders.
- 56:07Speaker 5: Crazy.
- 56:08Speaker 1: And went into it as a nightmare. They write about it.
- 56:11Speaker 1: Even reading it, you're going, oh my God, I couldn't
- 56:12Speaker 1: have played I couldn't have coached for Al Davis.
- 56:15Speaker 6: That's nuts.
- 56:16Speaker 1: He was just drafting dudes because they were fast. And
- 56:19Speaker 1: they made him draft Jamarcus Russell, Lane.
- 56:21Speaker 4: Oh.
- 56:22Speaker 6: He was there for that?
- 56:23Speaker 5: Wow.
- 56:24Speaker 1: So they had the number one pick when he... So
- 56:26Speaker 1: the whole story is they tried to hire Steve Sarkeesian
- 56:29Speaker 1: for that job. And they had the interview, and Sarkeesian
- 56:34Speaker 1: felt like the interview went well. They tried to call Sarkeesian,
- 56:37Speaker 1: who was at USC as an assistant at the time,
- 56:39Speaker 1: and go, hey, we want to offer you the job.
- 56:40Speaker 1: And he just ghosted them. He's like, I'm not talking
- 56:41Speaker 1: to them. I don't want to have anything to do
- 56:42Speaker 1: with them. And so.
- 56:44Speaker 1: Lane was going to go and be the offensive coordinator
- 56:46Speaker 1: with the Raiders. Lane was only 31.
- 56:48Speaker 4: Crazy.
- 56:48Speaker 1: And the guy was like, we're screwed. We don't have anybody.
- 56:52Speaker 1: And Lane's like, can I interview? And so Lane flies
- 56:53Speaker 1: up and interviews, and they just give him the job.
- 56:55Speaker 1: That seems— It was not for him. He didn't even
- 56:57Speaker 1: interview for the job until they didn't have anybody.
- 56:59Speaker 4: It seems like a long time ago.
- 57:00Speaker 6: No, it just seems like an NFL team, like that's
- 57:03Speaker 6: the way that you hire a head coach? It's just
- 57:05Speaker 6: wild to me.
- 57:06Speaker 1: Al Davis did. Dang.
- 57:08Speaker 5: Yep.
- 57:09Speaker 6: Like, that is a leader of your team, and you're
- 57:12Speaker 6: just like, oh, this guy's available. We don't have anybody else.
- 57:14Speaker 6: Let's try him out.
- 57:15Speaker 1: You know, Lane Kiffin wanted to draft a receiver in
- 57:18Speaker 1: that draft, number one overall. Did not want to draft
- 57:20Speaker 1: Jamarcus Russell. Wanted to draft Calvin Johnson.
- 57:24Speaker 4: Oh, Megatron.
- 57:25Speaker 6: Yeah, that worked out all right for the Lions, huh?
- 57:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 57:28Speaker 1: And he was forced to have Jamarcus Russell.
- 57:30Speaker 4: Dang.
- 57:31Speaker 1: Dang, it's crazy. Texas at Tennessee, that's fun. Ole Miss
- 57:34Speaker 1: at Florida. Mostly you're just seeing if this is an
- 57:37Speaker 1: Ole Miss letdown game. Not that Florida's not good enough
- 57:39Speaker 1: to win anyway, but they're not good enough to beat
- 57:42Speaker 1: Ole Miss. The thing is, it is in Gainesville.
- 57:45Speaker 6: Yeah, it's going to be tough.
- 57:47Speaker 1: Iowa at Michigan, Oklahoma at Georgia. Man, Georgia's so good.
- 57:51Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, they're just killing teams.
- 57:53Speaker 1: And, man, I wish Oklahoma wouldn't have lost that to Michigan.
- 57:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 57:57Speaker 1: That really hurts them. Their offense has really been struggling.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Not that it didn't struggle last year, but their defense
- 58:01Speaker 1: was able to make up for it. And then Texas
- 58:04Speaker 1: A & M at LSU. But Texas A & M
- 58:06Speaker 1: just lost at home to Kentucky last year. I know.
- 58:08Speaker 6: I'll be there for that one.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 58:09Speaker 4: He's going.
- 58:10Speaker 1: Going to Baton Rouge?
- 58:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:12Speaker 4: Why?
- 58:12Speaker 6: First ever time. A couple of my buddies and I,
- 58:15Speaker 6: we've been trying to do a trip for seriously like 10,
- 58:17Speaker 6: 15 years.
- 58:17Speaker 1: Oh, you're doing like a fun guy trip?
- 58:19Speaker 6: So like six months ago, this weekend worked out for
- 58:22Speaker 6: my friend who's a head coach out of a high school.
- 58:23Speaker 6: He's like, I got a bye week that weekend. So
- 58:25Speaker 6: we all put a name or a game into a hat.
- 58:27Speaker 6: I put this one in. It's mine. And we drew
- 58:29Speaker 6: it out of a hat. And this is the game
- 58:30Speaker 6: that got drawn.
- 58:31Speaker 4: Oh, that's cool. That's fun.
- 58:32Speaker 1: You didn't do Arkansas Tulsa?
- 58:34Speaker 4: No.
- 58:35Speaker 1: I thought about it.
- 58:36Speaker 4: I'm sure somebody did, though, right?
- 58:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I was like, maybe we have a house to
- 58:39Speaker 6: stay at in Arkansas.
- 58:40Speaker 1: You could stay there.
- 58:41Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 58:42Speaker 6: So, yeah, we'll be there for that. My question real
- 58:44Speaker 6: quick to.
- 58:44Speaker 5: You guys, though, is.
- 58:45Speaker 6: Will I be cheating on my Vols if.
- 58:47Speaker 4: I wear LSU?
- 58:48Speaker 1: They're not your Vols, so yeah, go for it. Dude,
- 58:51Speaker 1: you're such a big fan. You're not in a mutually
- 58:53Speaker 1: committed relationship with the Vols. I'm just saying they have
- 58:55Speaker 1: a big game this week. You like text to hook
- 58:58Speaker 1: up occasionally. That's the relationship you're in with the Vols.
- 59:00Speaker 6: That is true. It's like a college relationship.
- 59:03Speaker 4: What kind of gear are you wearing?
- 59:04Speaker 6: Just like a shirt. Nothing crazy.
- 59:06Speaker 4: A purple shirt?
- 59:07Speaker 3: No, black.
- 59:07Speaker 6: It's going to be so hot. I'm going to be sweating.
- 59:09Speaker 6: I need to hide it.
- 59:10Speaker 1: You can wear an LSU shirt.
- 59:11Speaker 6: Okay, thanks.

- 1:00:16Speaker 1: How long is too long of a voice memo to
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: leave somebody?
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: I would say over a minute. Oh, for a minute.
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: Wrap it up. Like, well, what's the point of your
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: voice memo? Like, usually a voice memo, you're driving. You
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: don't want to text and drive, right? So you just, hey, man,
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: real quick, I'm going to ask you a question. One minute.
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: After that, I'm like, oh, my gosh, they're rambling.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: Do you ever leave them? No. Yeah, I've never gotten
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: one from you.
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: Never? Because I hear it back and I'm like, oh,
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: my voice sounds stupid.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: You talk for a living.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: That's how I talk.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: Minute and a half.
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: Why the half?
- 1:00:49Speaker 6: I think it would be a cut. Because a minute's
- 1:00:52Speaker 6: right there, because I've left them over a minute before.
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: Because sometimes you're just like talking, and then you're like, yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:57Speaker 6: And there's like five to seven seconds that just kind
- 1:00:59Speaker 6: of dull. Oh, yeah, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:01:01Speaker 6: So like a minute and a half, I think.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: Occasionally, I'll get up around two or three minutes, and
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: I'll go delete. Let me pack that in a little tighter.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: Oh, so you do a run through.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Not on purpose. I just end up going long, and
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: I go, I think I can. Almost clipped. I hear
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: the basketball machine out there.
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: I know the pop a shot.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: That they're building.
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: It looks like they plugged it in.
- 1:01:21Speaker 7: Did you hear it?
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Three, two, one.
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: Ray's on it.
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: The champ's on it?
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: He's on it, dude.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Yeah. So I think that, but I've also left three
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: and four minute ones and that's too long. But whenever
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: the text comes with it now, most of the time
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: it's fine because I can read through what they said. Yeah.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: But sometimes I'll get a long one and there's no
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: text on it. And I'm like, Oh God, I got
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: to listen to a podcast.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: Yeah, that's the tough part. You're like, I got to
- 1:01:47Speaker 6: walk away for a minute, go in a dark room
- 1:01:48Speaker 6: and listen by myself.
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: Why a dark room?
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Who's sending you?
- 1:01:54Speaker 6: I'm just saying a random room to make sure you
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: can hear it all for a couple minutes.
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: That's a good point because sometimes you send it to
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: me and I'm like, I can't listen to this now.
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: I'm around people.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: But he went to a dark room.
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know about the dark room. That's weird.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: He's like, I got to take my belt off. I
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: got to go into a dark room.
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: Naked?
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: I don't know. It's weird.
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: That's going to do it. Everybody feel good?
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: Feel good, man.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: Let's make some money this week.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: That's not how I feel going into weeks ever.
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: Really?
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: Yeah, never.
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: See, I look at it as like, man, new weekend,
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: time to make some bank.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: You know, I don't know that I've won a bet. Dude,
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: I'm telling you. I say that. I don't know that
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: I've won a bet.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: It's been hard.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Because I was in Vegas last weekend and I didn't
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: bet at all. And the week before that, I don't
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: think that I have. Let's look at my last few bets.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Cowboys plus three and a half. Live spread lost. Oregon,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: live money line. Minus 153, lost. That was to Oklahoma State.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Six pick parlay, lost. Kansas plus four against Missouri, lost.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Three pick parlay, lost.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: Lost. Lost.
- 1:02:57Speaker 7: Lost.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Dude, let me tell you the streak I'm on. Hold on. One, two, three, four, five. Yeah, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: I've lost twelve in a row. Dang.
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: Dude, does that do anything to your psyche? Like, do
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: you feel like you're just a loser?
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: No, because I don't need to bet. And I didn't
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: bet at all last week, so it doesn't feel like
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: a constant loss. I bet when it's fun and... No.
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: Like, if I have a good weekend, dude, I walk
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: into Mondays like... Whistling, like, man, I feel good. If
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: I have a bad weekend... I'm such a loser. I'm
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: down $ 100 this week.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: It was weird that first weekend of college when I
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: didn't hit a single bet. I was like, dang. I
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: just looked back and said, I don't think I hit
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: a single bet.
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: But I'm not betting enough to affect me. And I'm
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: only doing it for fun, like supplement games.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: I think I'm going to do something a little different
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: this week. I'm going to do just parlays. Just small
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: $ 1 parlays. I'm not going to do any because sometimes
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: I get a little crazy. I'm like, oh, for sure
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: Alabama's going to win. Do $ 10 on that. Then that
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: gets me.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: The for sures?
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: The for sure that's going to happen. All right.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: That's it. Thank you, everybody. Eddie, blow the whistle.
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: Oh, here we go. Hold on.
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: I was looking at my phone.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: He's making bets.
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: His parlays are starting.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Making bets. All right. I'll see you guys.
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: Bye, everybody.
