- 0:00Speaker 1: It's KSEV Mornings with Craig Collins and Wayne Dolcefino.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I didn't just say anything stupid.
- 0:05Speaker 3: By anything stupid, I mean anything at all.
- 0:07Speaker 2: No, it's crazy.
- 0:08Speaker 4: Welcome to the Thunderdome, people.
- 0:10Speaker 1: News, opinions, politics, and the stories that matter to Texans.
- 0:15Speaker 5: I shaved for this?
- 0:17Speaker 1: Here are your hosts, Craig Collins and Wayne Dolcefino.
- 0:21Speaker 6: Remember, everyone, just don't be yourselves.
- 0:23Speaker 7: On KSEV AM 700, the voice of Texas.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Yes!
- 0:28Speaker 8: That's awesome!
- 0:29Speaker 9: Ah!
- 0:34Speaker 10: And now, Craig Collins and Wayne Dolcefino.
- 0:37Speaker 8: That's right.
- 0:38Speaker 6: It is the KSTV Morning Show. My name is Craig Collins,
- 0:43Speaker 6: and I am not filling in. This is my regular
- 0:46Speaker 6: show that I do all the time. I like that
- 0:48Speaker 6: I pretend that I'm filling in, or at least in
- 0:51Speaker 6: my brain, I think about it as a fill-in shift
- 0:53Speaker 6: when Wayne's not here.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Mostly because I do that a lot of other places.
- 0:57Speaker 6: I will actually be a guest host for The Chad
- 1:00Speaker 6: Benson Show and Dana Lash today. which is six hours
- 1:05Speaker 6: straight back-to-back radio that airs on all kinds of radio
- 1:08Speaker 6: stations throughout the country. We don't air one of those
- 1:10Speaker 6: shows here. It is aired in Dallas and a bunch
- 1:13Speaker 6: of other places.
- 1:14Speaker 3: We air the other one.
- 1:15Speaker 6: So you'll hear me in for Dana for a couple
- 1:17Speaker 6: hours a little bit later on today. And I'm excited
- 1:20Speaker 6: to do that. But I want to get to a
- 1:22Speaker 6: lot of things first. One of the discussions I want
- 1:25Speaker 6: to have is about a crazy lefty, a crazy leftist
- 1:28Speaker 6: politician who's making a ridiculous argument.
- 1:31Speaker 8: Sorry.
- 1:32Speaker 6: Let me be a little less yelly so early in
- 1:35Speaker 6: the morning at seven o'clock on the radio. He's making
- 1:38Speaker 6: a ridiculous argument about illegal immigration and guns because he
- 1:44Speaker 6: knows some of the rules. Some of the rules are
- 1:46Speaker 6: that if you want to make the right mad, if
- 1:48Speaker 6: you want to make conservatives mad, try to equate anything
- 1:52Speaker 6: to restricting gun access, to restricting our ability to, you know,
- 1:57Speaker 6: enjoy the Second Amendment the way it was supposed to
- 1:59Speaker 6: be enjoyed. I love my guns. And I'm a relatively
- 2:02Speaker 6: new gun guy. I've only really been using and firing
- 2:06Speaker 6: and going to ranges and buying guns.
- 2:09Speaker 3: For like the last five years of my life.
- 2:11Speaker 6: But it's sort of what they say, like with tattoos,
- 2:14Speaker 6: you get one and then all of a sudden you
- 2:15Speaker 6: have seven and then you have 10.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Although I'm glad I'm not in that world, in the
- 2:19Speaker 3: world of tattoos. But yeah, no, guns are amazing. You
- 2:23Speaker 3: know that.
- 2:23Speaker 8: I know that.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Most of us know this.
- 2:25Speaker 6: But anyway, this crazy leftist, this crazy moron is trying
- 2:28Speaker 6: to make the argument that that only letting a subset
- 2:31Speaker 6: of people into this country is the same thing as
- 2:34Speaker 6: taking away everybody's access or almost everyone's access to guns.
- 2:38Speaker 6: Let's see if I can actually get this audio to play,
- 2:41Speaker 6: which might be a me problem one more time.
- 2:43Speaker 3: There it is.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Imagine if just 3% of gun sales were permitted. Many
- 2:58Speaker 2: in this room, myself included, would call that gun prohibition.
- 3:03Speaker 2: But that's how few immigrants seeking permanent legal status in
- 3:07Speaker 2: the United States through the proper processes actually get approved.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Why is that, by the way?
- 3:12Speaker 11: Hold on.
- 3:12Speaker 3: I'll jump in here.
- 3:13Speaker 6: Why do you think that is, that only 3% of
- 3:16Speaker 6: people that apply to become U.S. citizens the right way— by
- 3:19Speaker 6: the way, my wife was born in Mexico, is a U.S.
- 3:22Speaker 6: citizen— She went through the process. She succeeded because she
- 3:26Speaker 6: got married to this guy.
- 3:27Speaker 3: But anyway, why is that true?
- 3:29Speaker 6: Why are there so few people that are succeeding going
- 3:32Speaker 6: through proper channels? It's partly because this is not the
- 3:35Speaker 6: only reason the court systems are inundated with people that
- 3:38Speaker 6: shouldn't be here legally, essentially meaning that you have a
- 3:42Speaker 6: ton of cases. and a whole lot of people who
- 3:44Speaker 6: don't show up for their court hearing, and a lot
- 3:46Speaker 6: of people who've jumped the line and gotten to this
- 3:48Speaker 6: country illegally in a way that they shouldn't have, that
- 3:51Speaker 6: make it harder for people to come in legally.
- 3:53Speaker 3: You know who thought that, by the way?
- 3:55Speaker 6: You know who believed in that message that I just
- 3:58Speaker 6: shared for you on the Chad Benson show, the fancy
- 4:01Speaker 6: national show?
- 4:01Speaker 3: Barack Obama. Barack Hussein Obama, if I'm trying to be
- 4:05Speaker 3: President Trump about it. But he's the one.
- 4:08Speaker 6: Who initially said that we can't let people jump the line. Well,
- 4:11Speaker 6: he didn't initially say that, but he's more recently said it.
- 4:14Speaker 6: And Democrats seem to have abandoned that message. Let's let
- 4:17Speaker 6: this idiot continue.
- 4:18Speaker 2: In a year, for many, there's no legal way at all.
- 4:22Speaker 2: If you make legal immigration.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Impossible, it's not possible.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Don't complain about illegal immigration. You created it.
- 4:31Speaker 8: You made it illegal.
- 4:33Speaker 2: So, yes, focus on justice for victims, but let peaceful
- 4:37Speaker 2: people contribute to this country legally.
- 4:41Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 4:41Speaker 6: So essentially that message also means anyone that wants to
- 4:44Speaker 6: live in the United States gets to live here.
- 4:46Speaker 3: And you know what the biggest problem about this is?
- 4:49Speaker 6: And I'm going to sound a little bit like a
- 4:50Speaker 6: far righty when I say this, but I promise you
- 4:53Speaker 6: it just simply is true. I've seen it occur and
- 4:57Speaker 6: you've probably seen it occur in some fashion, some sort
- 5:00Speaker 6: of news story that you read about. There are people
- 5:03Speaker 6: who want to move to our country who hate our country,
- 5:05Speaker 6: but they want to live here. which is odd because
- 5:08Speaker 6: they seem to actually like a lot of the things
- 5:09Speaker 6: that make the United States special. They just don't want
- 5:12Speaker 6: to actually support the United States. And inevitably they do
- 5:16Speaker 6: harm to someone or a lot of people. And they
- 5:19Speaker 6: couch that under the guise of I'm not really an American.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I just live here. I'm from somewhere else.
- 5:24Speaker 6: There are many, many people who don't want to live
- 5:27Speaker 6: the American way of life. And if you want someone
- 5:30Speaker 6: to immigrate to your country, you want them to respect
- 5:33Speaker 6: your country. No, they don't have to completely abandon America.
- 5:36Speaker 6: who they were before. I'm going to go back to
- 5:39Speaker 6: the example of my wife to kick off the show.
- 5:41Speaker 6: Born and raised Mexican, lived in Mexico until her 20s,
- 5:45Speaker 6: and then she moved to the United States for school,
- 5:47Speaker 6: for college.
- 5:49Speaker 3: She met me.
- 5:50Speaker 6: She did a dumb thing and married this idiot that's
- 5:52Speaker 6: talking to you on the microphone today.
- 5:54Speaker 3: And there we go. There we have it. She is
- 5:56Speaker 3: now a U.S.
- 5:57Speaker 8: Citizen.
- 5:58Speaker 6: She decided to stay when she probably planned on going
- 6:01Speaker 6: back home. Wasn't that hard. It did cost a decent
- 6:05Speaker 6: amount of money. But it was not an impossible system.
- 6:07Speaker 6: And more importantly, since becoming a U.S. citizen, she now
- 6:11Speaker 6: believes herself to be from both places, the United States
- 6:14Speaker 6: and Mexico. I do a lot of work with veterans
- 6:17Speaker 6: through some of the podcast and radio things that I do.
- 6:21Speaker 6: And my wife has loved getting to know U.S. veterans
- 6:24Speaker 6: and talking about the importance of protecting the United States
- 6:27Speaker 6: of America and dealing with people who would willingly give
- 6:30Speaker 6: their life to protect the values of our country.
- 6:34Speaker 3: I remember this.
- 6:34Speaker 6: Here, I'll tell you this, too. This wasn't the intent
- 6:36Speaker 6: of the start of the show, but I can't help it.
- 6:39Speaker 6: Honor Flight is an incredible program. It exists throughout the
- 6:42Speaker 6: entire country. There's a bunch of chapters. Wherever you happen
- 6:45Speaker 6: to be listening to the show, there's a decent chance
- 6:48Speaker 6: that your community or a community close by to you
- 6:52Speaker 6: has an Honor Flight group. This group takes people to Washington, D.C.,
- 6:56Speaker 6: takes veterans, I should say. to Washington, D.C., mostly now
- 7:00Speaker 6: Vietnam guys, to see the war memorials that exist there.
- 7:04Speaker 6: And what's amazing about that, and my wife has gotten
- 7:06Speaker 6: to ride with me in a police escort where you're
- 7:10Speaker 6: going to the airport with heroes, and then a police
- 7:13Speaker 6: escort home after the entire journey. There's so many different
- 7:16Speaker 6: parts of connecting to the veterans and the people who,
- 7:22Speaker 6: as I said, willingly give their lives to to protect
- 7:25Speaker 6: the values, the freedoms that exist in our country. And
- 7:28Speaker 6: getting to know some of those individuals has turned my
- 7:32Speaker 6: wife into a pretty patriotic human that was not born here.
- 7:37Speaker 6: A rather patriotic human, I should say, that was not
- 7:39Speaker 6: born here. She has the American flags on her cheeks
- 7:41Speaker 6: and stuff, little water tattoos when she goes to this
- 7:46Speaker 6: kind of stuff.
- 7:47Speaker 3: And she was born in another country. And those are
- 7:49Speaker 3: the kinds of people that we do want.
- 7:50Speaker 6: To live here, people who are willing to adopt and
- 7:52Speaker 6: accept the value system that we have. And when you
- 7:57Speaker 6: have a version of immigration where anybody can come in,
- 8:00Speaker 6: there's really no rules. They're allowed to stay for basically
- 8:03Speaker 6: any reason they want. We have a lot of people
- 8:06Speaker 6: who don't respect that. And then we have a lot
- 8:08Speaker 6: of damage to our society. We've seen it. You've seen it.
- 8:11Speaker 6: I've seen it. It's not just a political far-right talking
- 8:15Speaker 6: point It's a reality.
- 8:17Speaker 3: All right, let's move on.
- 8:18Speaker 6: There's other stuff out there. I thought this was really interesting.
- 8:21Speaker 6: I live in Houston, Texas, as I said, to open
- 8:23Speaker 6: the show. KSV Mornings is a radio show that I
- 8:26Speaker 6: do that you can find anywhere you look for podcasts.
- 8:29Speaker 6: But anyway, James Tallarico, who is running for the Senate
- 8:34Speaker 6: in Texas and is a far left crazy person by
- 8:39Speaker 6: a lot of the things he said just.
- 8:40Speaker 3: A few years ago. It's not like we're.
- 8:42Speaker 6: Resurfacing audio of a guy who said this Twenty five
- 8:47Speaker 6: years ago, because, you know, he's been in politics for
- 8:50Speaker 6: so long. That was the Joe Biden version of an
- 8:53Speaker 6: approach when Biden was running for the office of president.
- 8:57Speaker 3: And somehow won.
- 8:58Speaker 6: I'm still confused about that because there was a lot
- 9:01Speaker 6: of votes for a guy that did very few speak.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Anyway, I won't I won't go there.
- 9:05Speaker 6: But nonetheless, when Joe Biden was running for office, you
- 9:08Speaker 6: could play audio of him totally disagreeing with himself 15, 20,
- 9:11Speaker 6: 30 years ago. As a senator, as a politician in
- 9:16Speaker 6: some capacity, as a vice president, it was interesting to
- 9:20Speaker 6: watch that sort of stuff occur. For Tallarico, it's three
- 9:23Speaker 6: or four years ago. He's a relatively younger guy. I
- 9:28Speaker 6: don't even think the time frame given here is true
- 9:31Speaker 6: when the Democrat objects on CNN and claims that this
- 9:34Speaker 6: happened in 2019.
- 9:36Speaker 3: That's not accurate. But nonetheless, that part doesn't matter.
- 9:40Speaker 6: What matters to me is as they go about this fight,
- 9:42Speaker 6: as they go about this argument— part of the discussion
- 9:46Speaker 6: for the lefty that's arguing with the conservative on CNN,
- 9:50Speaker 6: part of the discussion is, you know what, it doesn't
- 9:52Speaker 6: really matter. So here, let's play part of the audio,
- 9:54Speaker 6: and then I'll continue to tell you why this is
- 9:56Speaker 6: incredibly broken as a.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Concept, especially when people.
- 10:00Speaker 6: are playing audio from James Tallarico when he did a
- 10:03Speaker 6: podcast two years ago. not seven years ago, and definitely
- 10:08Speaker 6: not 20 years ago.
- 10:09Speaker 10: I think that is my advice, is get out there,
- 10:11Speaker 10: go on offense, say who you are, but also be very.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Clear about who James Tallarico is.
- 10:14Speaker 4: I mean, do you think it's.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Okay that he said that white men are the biggest
- 10:18Speaker 1: domestic terrorist threat to this country?
- 10:19Speaker 2: You're a white man.
- 10:20Speaker 13: Wait, is he campaigning on that, or was this some
- 10:21Speaker 13: comment from, like, 2019 that was kind of cringe that
- 10:23Speaker 13: we've all made past?
- 10:24Speaker 9: Oh, so people aren't held accountable for their past comments?
- 10:26Speaker 13: Ken Paxton, in very recent history.
- 10:28Speaker 3: You're a.
- 10:28Speaker 14: White man, though, so are you the biggest domestic Of course.
- 10:30Speaker 13: I don't agree with that, but James Tallarico isn't running
- 10:33Speaker 13: on that. When James Tallarico and Ken Paxton are facing off,
- 10:35Speaker 13: they're talking about the economy.
- 10:37Speaker 6: He's not running on his beliefs, darn it. Why would
- 10:39Speaker 6: you tell us that he's running on the things that
- 10:41Speaker 6: he believes?
- 10:41Speaker 3: How dare you?
- 10:42Speaker 13: Ken Paxton is cheating on his wife. James Tallarico is
- 10:44Speaker 13: talking about money and politics, while Ken Paxton is taking money...
- 10:47Speaker 13: out of the hands of his voters. Like, you realize
- 10:49Speaker 13: his own staff turned him in.
- 10:51Speaker 8: Who cares?
- 10:51Speaker 13: This is just such a.
- 10:54Speaker 6: It's not a stupid talking point. It is the basics
- 10:57Speaker 6: of who the human being is. You know what's really
- 10:59Speaker 6: interesting there? Within that 40-second clip on CNN, the person
- 11:03Speaker 6: that is trying to defend James Tallarico and his radical
- 11:05Speaker 6: beliefs at all costs, ignore this thing that he said
- 11:09Speaker 6: because it's so long ago and he's not even running
- 11:11Speaker 6: on it as part of his platform because he'd lose...
- 11:15Speaker 6: if he actually used those things that he believes more
- 11:18Speaker 6: often as talking points right now. Being fake is not
- 11:22Speaker 6: the same as abandoning certain beliefs. I love that they're saying,
- 11:26Speaker 6: just listen to what the politician says now.
- 11:29Speaker 3: But the other part that I really love is during.
- 11:31Speaker 6: That rebuttal, our lefty Democrat on CNN, who has a
- 11:36Speaker 6: ton of support from everybody else on the panel, also
- 11:40Speaker 6: says that Ken Paxton is a morally corrupt man, which
- 11:42Speaker 6: is a thing you hear all the time. He's cheating
- 11:44Speaker 6: on his wife was the comment there. And Ken Paxton
- 11:47Speaker 6: is divorced. He is with somebody else.
- 11:49Speaker 3: He's not a.
- 11:51Speaker 6: Great human being, a perfect human being. I don't know
- 11:53Speaker 6: what the right word would be in his private life.
- 11:56Speaker 6: But I contend if I'm going to support anyone in politics,
- 12:00Speaker 6: the vast majority of these people are probably not great people.
- 12:04Speaker 3: And actually, you know what? I'll go with a joke.
- 12:06Speaker 6: I think it's a Jerry Seinfeld joke that I love
- 12:08Speaker 6: a lot about politics in general. And I'm just going
- 12:11Speaker 6: to paraphrase it. I'm not going to try to deliver
- 12:13Speaker 6: you a Seinfeld joke today. On the show. But the
- 12:17Speaker 6: thing I love so much is when he says it's
- 12:19Speaker 6: only really crazy people who want to be politicians. You know,
- 12:22Speaker 6: maybe it's actually George Carlin. This might not be.
- 12:25Speaker 3: I think I credit.
- 12:25Speaker 6: Seinfeld all the time, but now I'm thinking maybe Carlin
- 12:28Speaker 6: said this. It's crazy people, because if you ask yourself, hey,
- 12:33Speaker 6: who should be in charge of everything, essentially who should
- 12:36Speaker 6: run for president? And your answer is you. You're probably
- 12:40Speaker 6: not the normal person out there. You're probably a little
- 12:43Speaker 6: a tad strange and or a tad self-obsessed and probably crappy.
- 12:47Speaker 6: And there's a lot of things you've done that are
- 12:49Speaker 6: probably also crappy, whether it's your belief system, whether it's
- 12:52Speaker 6: your behavior, all of that. So at the end of
- 12:54Speaker 6: the day, I think the only thing that matters and
- 12:58Speaker 6: call me some sort of. you know, radical crazy person
- 13:01Speaker 6: for saying this on the show. But I think the
- 13:04Speaker 6: only thing that really matters is what you'll do if
- 13:07Speaker 6: given power. That's the only question we should ask ourselves
- 13:10Speaker 6: about any politicians. What will they do if they are
- 13:14Speaker 6: given power? And will the things that they do reflect
- 13:17Speaker 6: the things that I want done? Like, it's that simplistic.
- 13:21Speaker 6: And for a lot of people in Texas... The way
- 13:23Speaker 6: that Ken Paxton has gone about being attorney general is
- 13:26Speaker 6: exactly the way that they would want someone to go
- 13:29Speaker 6: about being a senator. Texas is red. You can be
- 13:32Speaker 6: mad about that in mainstream media if you want to be.
- 13:35Speaker 3: But it's true. Texas is a red state.
- 13:37Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 6: And obviously a little bit of this might have been
- 13:40Speaker 6: repurposed audio for a fill in shift that I'm doing
- 13:42Speaker 6: a little later on because, you know, we're in Texas.
- 13:44Speaker 6: We're all here in Texas right now in Houston.
- 13:47Speaker 11: All right.
- 13:47Speaker 6: We're going to take a break. A lot coming up.
- 13:49Speaker 6: The rest of it will be completely live. And our
- 13:52Speaker 6: social media channels will be launched shortly so you can
- 13:55Speaker 6: see me. Wayne Dolcefino, who is supposed to be here,
- 13:59Speaker 6: is on special assignment.
- 14:00Speaker 3: He said he actually had to travel.
- 14:02Speaker 6: Probably neither one of us will be here Monday because
- 14:04Speaker 6: it's a holiday. I was texting him about that. So
- 14:08Speaker 6: we're probably playing a best of. On our Monday show.
- 14:11Speaker 8: But we'll see.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Maybe I will come in.
- 14:13Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 14:13Speaker 3: A quick break. A lot more KSEV mornings. The Voice
- 14:17Speaker 3: of Texas.

- 15:32Speaker 10: leaks after you've spent hundreds of dollars to repair it.

- 15:49Speaker 15: hear from them again.

- 16:54Speaker 6: This is KSCV Mornings. My name is Craig Collins. Wayne
- 16:59Speaker 6: Dolcefino is on special assignment.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Thrilled to be with you. So much stuff out there
- 17:05Speaker 3: to talk about.
- 17:06Speaker 6: I want to talk about men playing women's sports, which
- 17:09Speaker 6: is an easy topic of conversation for me and probably
- 17:13Speaker 6: a lot of you. It's somehow not an easy topic
- 17:17Speaker 6: of conversation for the left, which is crazy. And I
- 17:21Speaker 6: feel like a theme on today's show is going to
- 17:23Speaker 6: be how much of the rhetoric on the left is insane.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Because there's a lot of it, and a lot of
- 17:27Speaker 3: it is nuts.
- 17:28Speaker 6: But this is one of the better ones, and some
- 17:31Speaker 6: of the takes out there as far as people on
- 17:34Speaker 6: the left go, because they'll say something. And actually, I
- 17:36Speaker 6: heard this coming in today. Coming in, I was listening to,
- 17:40Speaker 6: is it Red Eye Radio that's on before? Okay, it's
- 17:42Speaker 6: Red Eye Radio that's on before Dana and before Russell.
- 17:46Speaker 6: And I came into work surprisingly early this morning, so
- 17:50Speaker 6: I was listening to Red Eye Radio. And I heard
- 17:52Speaker 6: the guys talk about how some people say that having
- 17:56Speaker 6: an honest conversation about, say, transgender athletes or dudes playing
- 18:00Speaker 6: women's sports can cause someone to hurt themselves. I think
- 18:04Speaker 6: the exact argument was that a transgender person, a kid,
- 18:08Speaker 6: who hears this is more likely to hurt themselves than
- 18:12Speaker 6: if they don't say it out loud. Here's the problem
- 18:15Speaker 6: with that way of thinking. And as I said, I'm
- 18:18Speaker 6: probably going to get to some audio in a second
- 18:19Speaker 6: that is debating men and women's sports. I think this
- 18:22Speaker 6: was on Fox, even though It was a Democrat that
- 18:25Speaker 6: was yelling certain crazy stuff. But here's the thing that
- 18:28Speaker 6: you can't do. You can't censor speech and behave as
- 18:32Speaker 6: though the words you're saying themselves are the same thing
- 18:36Speaker 6: as trying to hurt someone. Do I want anyone to
- 18:38Speaker 6: hurt themselves?
- 18:39Speaker 3: Of course I don't. You don't. Most of us don't.
- 18:41Speaker 6: There's no rational discussion about this topic where I want
- 18:45Speaker 6: someone to harm themselves for any reason, and especially not
- 18:49Speaker 6: when you're talking about children. But the reality of saying
- 18:52Speaker 6: that I can't talk about facts or also my opinion
- 18:56Speaker 6: in general because someone might be so upset in my
- 18:59Speaker 6: words that they harm themselves in some way is the
- 19:02Speaker 6: type of thinking on the left.
- 19:04Speaker 3: That destroys our society.
- 19:06Speaker 6: Because the truth is, and I think a lot of
- 19:08Speaker 6: parents would say this about their own kids, if you
- 19:11Speaker 6: had someone in your family or in your life that
- 19:15Speaker 6: was struggling with some sort of identity thing and they're
- 19:18Speaker 6: a child, And they're telling you that they're hearing in
- 19:21Speaker 6: school classrooms or on television or in social media or
- 19:25Speaker 6: something that what they really need to do is, you know,
- 19:28Speaker 6: have a surgical procedure that changes their body. As an adult,
- 19:32Speaker 6: the thing you do, you look at a kid and
- 19:34Speaker 6: you say, I think that you're struggling with something. I'd
- 19:36Speaker 6: like to get you someone to talk to about this thing.
- 19:40Speaker 6: You get a counselor involved and you deal with a
- 19:42Speaker 6: mental health issue long before you change anything about anybody's body.
- 19:47Speaker 6: and to train our society and to train mostly kids
- 19:52Speaker 6: to believe that that approach is wrong, that that type
- 19:54Speaker 6: of conversation is wrong, is so intentionally dangerous in our society.
- 19:59Speaker 6: It's so intentionally trying to win an argument by dangling
- 20:02Speaker 6: the the threat of, if you say this, you're going
- 20:07Speaker 6: to harm some kid out there, which is crazy. But here,
- 20:09Speaker 6: I want to play this, because this was an argument
- 20:12Speaker 6: being made about women and men playing women's sports and
- 20:16Speaker 6: how some people think that it devolves into a world
- 20:20Speaker 6: of disrespect and bad things. And again, this was on
- 20:23Speaker 6: Fox News. But I think this is a ridiculous place
- 20:26Speaker 6: to be in. I think what the Red Eye Radio
- 20:29Speaker 6: guys were talking about this morning, the same token. I
- 20:33Speaker 6: can be kind. I can be respectful. But I can
- 20:36Speaker 6: also be honest. And I can also live in a
- 20:39Speaker 6: place of reality. I can do all of those things simultaneously.
- 20:41Speaker 6: And especially if I'm trying to influence a kid to
- 20:45Speaker 6: go my kid or somebody else's kid, who I hope
- 20:47Speaker 6: never to have a conversation with like this. But I
- 20:51Speaker 6: can influence someone to seek out professional help on a
- 20:55Speaker 6: psychological level, to have a conversation about who they are,
- 20:59Speaker 6: who they feel they are, everything mentally and and not
- 21:02Speaker 6: do any harm whatsoever to their body. But here, let's
- 21:04Speaker 6: play this audio. Actually, I think this is on the
- 21:07Speaker 6: wrong thing. I've got to hit a button here, and
- 21:09Speaker 6: then I'll fix it. This is a me thing, definitely
- 21:12Speaker 6: not a Russell thing.
- 21:13Speaker 3: And now, here we go. It should work.
- 21:16Speaker 14: For what counts as cruelty on the subject. I've been
- 21:19Speaker 14: called a transphobe. I've been called all sorts of names
- 21:22Speaker 14: in the book for simply saying that biological men are
- 21:25Speaker 14: not women and that you actually cannot be a woman
- 21:27Speaker 14: if you are a biological man. Apparently, that's also cruel
- 21:30Speaker 14: when it's really just reality and it's stating a basic fact.
- 21:33Speaker 14: I also think, though, that the California law is an
- 21:36Speaker 14: admission that you're on the wrong side of the argument.
- 21:38Speaker 14: If you know that what you're doing is so unfair
- 21:41Speaker 14: that you actually have to make space for the girls
- 21:43Speaker 14: who are being deprived of their own opportunities, of their
- 21:46Speaker 14: own successes, on that same podium with those same medals,
- 21:50Speaker 14: then you know that it's because you're doing something wrong.
- 21:52Speaker 14: So I do think that this goes to the Supreme
- 21:54Speaker 14: Court ultimately, you know, because the Supreme Court itself has
- 21:57Speaker 14: also not answered the principal question here, which is whether
- 22:00Speaker 14: Title IX mandates that there are sex-exclusive spaces for women,
- 22:05Speaker 14: for girls, and then also for men.
- 22:07Speaker 6: That's actually the wrong clip. The clip is definitely someone
- 22:10Speaker 6: in defense of it. I think I have the other
- 22:12Speaker 6: clip somewhere. Yeah, it's right here. This is also on Fox.
- 22:15Speaker 6: This was the crazy lefty.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Sorry I played the wrong one, but I love the
- 22:18Speaker 3: argument that she's making. Because I agree with that. Here's
- 22:20Speaker 3: the other person.
- 22:21Speaker 17: Because what I don't like, and we've talked about this
- 22:23Speaker 17: a lot, is the language of cruelty that often accompanies
- 22:26Speaker 17: this discussion. I'm happy to have the conversation about fairness
- 22:30Speaker 17: and safety for women in sports. I played women's sports
- 22:32Speaker 17: my whole life. What I don't like is when it
- 22:34Speaker 17: transitions in an interesting word I use there in this context.
- 22:38Speaker 17: When the conversation then becomes one that is very cruel
- 22:42Speaker 17: and dehumanizing towards trans kids who, quite frankly, have enough
- 22:46Speaker 17: challenges in their life without politicians piling on every day.
- 22:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Hold on. I'm going to stop right there.
- 23:08Speaker 6: Of young people who are saying that they think that
- 23:10Speaker 6: they're born in the wrong body, desperately need mental health therapy.
- 23:16Speaker 6: And then that mental health therapy will get those kids
- 23:18Speaker 6: to a place where they don't want to change their
- 23:21Speaker 6: body or themselves.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Honestly, I'll say, I know this is a.
- 23:24Speaker 6: Weird topic to talk about so early in the morning
- 23:26Speaker 6: and in such an honest way, but I can't help it.
- 23:29Speaker 3: I'll say this.
- 23:31Speaker 6: I believe that gender dysphoria is a thing. And if
- 23:35Speaker 6: you don't know what that is, that's someone who feels
- 23:37Speaker 6: like Their body is something they need to be ashamed of.
- 23:41Speaker 3: This is the way that I'll oversimplify it.
- 23:43Speaker 6: And because of that feeling of shame, they often want
- 23:46Speaker 6: to be somebody else. And that somebody else could be
- 23:49Speaker 6: somebody of the opposite sex. It could be anything. But
- 23:52Speaker 6: that simple feeling of my body is something I'm not
- 23:54Speaker 6: proud of or I'm ashamed of is fundamentally different than
- 23:58Speaker 6: trying to tell me that this person actually believes that
- 24:01Speaker 6: they're the opposite sex and that what we need to
- 24:04Speaker 6: do to make them mentally healthy is change their body
- 24:07Speaker 6: with surgery and a doctor. Because when you actually go
- 24:11Speaker 6: to a mental health professional who sees this as a
- 24:14Speaker 6: thing that's a mental health struggle and helps a kid
- 24:17Speaker 6: better accept the body that they're in for reasons that
- 24:20Speaker 6: go way beyond, again, thinking you're born a different way,
- 24:25Speaker 6: that then these kids wind up being people who are
- 24:27Speaker 6: very happy with who they are. Kids that are very
- 24:30Speaker 6: happy with everything about themselves. I'm not saying this because
- 24:32Speaker 6: it was me, by the way. I don't know if
- 24:34Speaker 6: my familiarity with this topic Might make some people think, hey,
- 24:38Speaker 6: was Craig ever feeling like he was in the wrong body?
- 24:41Speaker 3: The answer is no.
- 24:42Speaker 6: But I do know somebody in my life who told
- 24:44Speaker 6: me that as a child, she, it's a girl, really
- 24:49Speaker 6: was jealous of boys because boys seem to be much
- 24:52Speaker 6: less worried about what they look like than girls were
- 24:56Speaker 6: when she was a little kid. And when she first
- 24:57Speaker 6: hit puberty, she would talk a lot about how, and
- 25:00Speaker 6: this is stuff I learned from a friend of mine,
- 25:03Speaker 6: partly because this topic is so in the news. But
- 25:05Speaker 6: my friend told me that when she first hit puberty,
- 25:07Speaker 6: she was kind of ashamed of some of the changes
- 25:09Speaker 6: that were happening to her. Because, well, even as kids,
- 25:12Speaker 6: there were people paying attention to some of those changes.
- 25:15Speaker 6: And that made her ashamed because she didn't want that attention.
- 25:19Speaker 6: But none of that had anything to do with the
- 25:21Speaker 6: person thinking that she was actually supposed to be a boy.
- 25:25Speaker 6: And thank God no one told her back then that
- 25:28Speaker 6: she was supposed to be a boy.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Because who knows what she would have thought of that.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Who knows how her brain.
- 25:33Speaker 6: at a young age would have thought, okay, that's the
- 25:34Speaker 6: solution to my problem, because you're susceptible to people, especially adults,
- 25:39Speaker 6: telling you any solution to a problem you think you have.
- 25:42Speaker 3: But thank God it didn't go that way.
- 25:44Speaker 6: That, I think, happens, and that I think we can
- 25:46Speaker 6: fix by being honest about this topic.
- 25:49Speaker 3: All right, quick break. A lot more.
- 25:51Speaker 6: This is KSEV Mornings with Craig and Wayne, Wayne Del

- 28:10Speaker 19: humid with a low of 76. Tomorrow will bring more
- 28:13Speaker 19: humidity with a mix of clouds and sunshine along with
- 28:15Speaker 19: isolated afternoon thunderstorms. The high will be 94 on Sunday.
- 28:19Speaker 19: Intervals of bright sunshine are expected with a chance of
- 28:21Speaker 19: a thunderstorm in some areas remaining humid and reaching a
- 28:24Speaker 19: high of 94. With the KACV Weather Center forecast, I'm
- 28:28Speaker 19: AccuWeather meteorologist Joe Lundberg.
- 28:49Speaker 6: KSEV. KSEV mornings. My name is Craig Collins. Wayne Del
- 28:56Speaker 6: Trofino is on special assignment.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Thrilled to be with you.
- 29:00Speaker 6: So much stuff out there to talk about. So many
- 29:03Speaker 6: discussions we should be having. And yet part of me
- 29:06Speaker 6: kind of wants to play some dumb, silly audio because
- 29:09Speaker 6: you can't be serious all the time.
- 29:11Speaker 3: That's how I feel, especially on a Friday.
- 29:13Speaker 6: I feel like you got to do a couple sillier,
- 29:16Speaker 6: lighter things because otherwise we just go insane.
- 29:19Speaker 3: And honestly, I'll say one thing.
- 29:22Speaker 6: There is a court case that I'm not really talking
- 29:25Speaker 6: much about in which a woman is accused of killing
- 29:27Speaker 6: her children. You definitely probably know the court case I'm
- 29:30Speaker 6: referring to based on just that simple description. And obviously,
- 29:35Speaker 6: my feeling is that any individual who did something like
- 29:39Speaker 6: that deserves to be punished to the full extent of
- 29:41Speaker 6: the law. So the fact that that's not potentially happening
- 29:45Speaker 6: is kind of driving me crazy. So that's part of
- 29:47Speaker 6: the reason I'm not talking about that topic more is
- 29:50Speaker 6: that there's people out there trying to say like she
- 29:54Speaker 6: had postpartum depression and it drove her crazy. And that's
- 29:57Speaker 6: the reason that she killed her children and then wanted
- 29:59Speaker 6: to commit suicide, but didn't. But I don't even know
- 30:04Speaker 6: where to go in that discussion other than to say,
- 30:07Speaker 6: throw the book at this person, throw her in jail forever.
- 30:10Speaker 3: It's horrible.
- 30:11Speaker 6: And the fact that I think the attorney representing her
- 30:15Speaker 6: was in court the other day going viral for demanding
- 30:18Speaker 6: that a juror get kicked off of the jury because
- 30:21Speaker 6: this juror seems to think that matters and seems to
- 30:24Speaker 6: think any sort of argument taking place in a courtroom–
- 30:28Speaker 6: trying to justify behavior as awful as that, as psychosis
- 30:32Speaker 6: or whatever.
- 30:32Speaker 3: You call it.
- 30:33Speaker 6: Like so many pieces of that are broken, that entire topic,
- 30:37Speaker 6: that part of me just wants to avoid it.
- 30:39Speaker 3: But I know it's out there. I have been paying
- 30:41Speaker 3: attention to it.
- 30:42Speaker 6: And my simplistic opinion is that she's guilty and that
- 30:45Speaker 6: she deserves to be punished profoundly for the guilt of
- 30:48Speaker 6: doing something that horrific. But all right, let's move on.
- 30:51Speaker 6: As I said, completely not silly and fun, that opening.
- 30:55Speaker 6: But I do have some things that I kind of like.
- 30:57Speaker 3: I love this. This is just a palate cleanser.
- 31:00Speaker 6: A Walmart worker went viral for saying that it's way
- 31:04Speaker 6: too early to have Halloween costumes out, and yet a
- 31:07Speaker 6: person who walked in there, a customer, was demanding a
- 31:10Speaker 6: specific costume for Here's a little bit of that audio.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Again, I thought this was pretty funny.
- 31:14Speaker 18: This guy that came up to me with his son
- 31:15Speaker 18: and he said that he was just looking for a
- 31:17Speaker 18: Flash costume for him for Halloween. And I told him
- 31:19Speaker 18: that they're going to have him at the front of
- 31:20Speaker 18: the seasonal section where the rest of the Halloween stuff at.
- 31:22Speaker 18: He looked at me and was like, we just checked
- 31:24Speaker 18: from over there and all we was able to find
- 31:25Speaker 18: was Spider-Man and Batman costumes. Can you double check? And
- 31:27Speaker 18: I was like, all right, cool. So I went on
- 31:28Speaker 18: my phone and checked and see if they had any Flash.
- 31:30Speaker 8: Costumes for me.
- 31:31Speaker 18: After I got done looking it up, it said N.A.
- 31:32Speaker 18: not available on my phone, and I showed them, like, oh,
- 31:34Speaker 18: maybe they haven't stocked them up yet. Maybe for right
- 31:36Speaker 18: now all they got is the Batman and Spider-Man costumes
- 31:38Speaker 18: until they bring these out. Then you want to say,
- 31:40Speaker 18: but what if they don't have it later on? That's
- 31:41Speaker 18: why I'm trying to get it right now. That's why
- 31:43Speaker 18: I'm asking you. Is there a way you can bring
- 31:44Speaker 18: it out faster before anybody else buy it? I'm like, sir,
- 31:46Speaker 18: how can I bring out the Flash costume when I
- 31:48Speaker 18: literally just told you a bunch of times that we
- 31:50Speaker 18: don't have the costume anywhere?
- 31:51Speaker 8: It doesn't exist!
- 31:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I love that.
- 31:53Speaker 6: I love a lot about that. I love the anger
- 31:55Speaker 6: and the craziness. I was born on Halloween. So Halloween
- 31:59Speaker 6: is my birthday. And I do enjoy the holiday, of course,
- 32:03Speaker 6: as anybody born on that day would. At the same time,
- 32:06Speaker 6: I do think it's ridiculous when most of that Halloween
- 32:09Speaker 6: stuff comes out way too early. With one exception. I
- 32:13Speaker 6: want to throw out one exception to that rule that
- 32:15Speaker 6: I've given before. I think the most ridiculous Halloween decorations.
- 32:19Speaker 6: I'm talking about like the 20-foot skeleton costumes. Or not costumes,
- 32:23Speaker 6: the 20-foot skeleton costumes. decorations you put on the lawn,
- 32:27Speaker 6: those are allowed to be out two months early. And
- 32:29Speaker 6: the reason why is for the few dudes who wind
- 32:32Speaker 6: up buying those things, they need two months to convince
- 32:35Speaker 6: their wife that that's an appropriate purchase.
- 32:37Speaker 3: Those guys are allowed to try that hard.
- 32:39Speaker 6: In my opinion, they're the only ones that are allowed
- 32:41Speaker 6: to do that because again, it's not something they're going
- 32:45Speaker 6: to easily achieve. This is something that's going to take
- 32:47Speaker 6: multiple conversations, mostly because the price of the item is
- 32:51Speaker 6: also ridiculous and they're going to have to pay a
- 32:55Speaker 6: the wife to spend that money on that thing. But
- 32:58Speaker 6: other than that, everything else can stay behind closed doors
- 33:00Speaker 6: for a while.
- 33:01Speaker 8: It's too soon. Thank you.
- 33:02Speaker 3: It's too soon. For anything, though, even the 20-foot.
- 33:06Speaker 8: Yes, it's too soon. Put it up on the 1st
- 33:08Speaker 8: of October. I can't stand it. It's like Christmas lights.
- 33:11Speaker 8: I love, listen, I'm a huge Christmas fan.
- 33:13Speaker 1: I have one of the biggest Christmas, Star Wars Christmas
- 33:15Speaker 1: displays in my front yard.
- 33:17Speaker 8: And I will not put it up until after Thanksgiving.
- 33:19Speaker 8: Thanksgiving comes first.
- 33:20Speaker 20: Right.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Yes, Thanksgiving. Yeah, you're right.
- 33:22Speaker 6: You got to celebrate the holidays before Labor Day. Not
- 33:24Speaker 6: that you decorate for that. It's kind of weird for Halloween.
- 33:26Speaker 6: But what about the argument I'm making that the husband
- 33:29Speaker 6: needs two months to convince the wife to buy the
- 33:31Speaker 6: 20-foot skeleton?
- 33:33Speaker 3: No version there? Like, if you're Star Wars stuff that
- 33:35Speaker 3: you own, did you have to convince the missus to
- 33:37Speaker 3: buy it?
- 33:38Speaker 12: Oh, no.
- 33:38Speaker 10: Okay.
- 33:40Speaker 3: So she loved it too? She was in for a jump?
- 33:42Speaker 1: She didn't exactly love it, but at least the price
- 33:46Speaker 1: of all the blow-ups that I have out there, all
- 33:50Speaker 1: the Star Wars blow-ups. I have about 10, 11 blow-ups.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I even put a Millennium Falcon on top of my roof.
- 33:55Speaker 1: It's a nine-and-a-half-foot Millennium Falcon that I put on the roof.
- 33:59Speaker 16: It's cool.
- 34:00Speaker 1: I'll have to show it to you one day to display,
- 34:02Speaker 1: but no, she didn't care for it, but I'll.
- 34:05Speaker 8: Just buy it.
- 34:05Speaker 6: Yeah, I think that's proof of love, by the way, Bud,
- 34:08Speaker 6: that somebody's like, I'm going to buy a 10-foot Millennium
- 34:10Speaker 6: Falcon that we blow up and put on the roof,
- 34:12Speaker 6: and she's like, all right, fine.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Because my wife, it would take.
- 34:15Speaker 6: Some convincing, I guess is what I'm saying about this topic.
- 34:18Speaker 6: But I do love that it's something that went viral,
- 34:21Speaker 6: that a lot of people were talking about, that the
- 34:23Speaker 6: employee had every right to be upset, and that the
- 34:26Speaker 6: dude was demanding the costume way too early. I did
- 34:29Speaker 6: have one other thought about the topic. I'm not sure
- 34:31Speaker 6: if I should share it on the radio, because I
- 34:33Speaker 6: think that the customer was claiming the costume was for
- 34:36Speaker 6: his kid.
- 34:37Speaker 3: Part of me thinks that that's not true.
- 34:39Speaker 6: Part of me thinks that something else was going on,
- 34:41Speaker 6: and I don't want any other information about whatever that
- 34:44Speaker 6: might have been, whatever the other thing going on was,
- 34:46Speaker 6: because someone who's demanding a costume and wants it ASAP
- 34:50Speaker 6: and cannot wait for it, to me, feels like somebody
- 34:53Speaker 6: that wants it for some different reason.
- 34:55Speaker 20: I don't know.
- 34:55Speaker 8: And I got to say, dude, I mean.
- 34:57Speaker 1: These stores, I'm talking all of them, Lowe's, Home Depot,
- 35:01Speaker 1: where you can go and buy a lot of this stuff,
- 35:04Speaker 1: they're putting them out earlier and.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Earlier every year.
- 35:07Speaker 6: They are.
- 35:08Speaker 3: That's true. And that's just because they're trying to make sales.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Christmas decorations will be up probably by the first week
- 35:15Speaker 1: of November.
- 35:15Speaker 16: Okay.
- 35:17Speaker 3: You're not wrong about that.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Might even be up before Halloween even comes and goes.
- 35:21Speaker 1: They'll already have their clearance on Halloween before Halloween, and
- 35:24Speaker 1: they'll have Christmas decorations or blow-ups already up in the store.
- 35:28Speaker 3: Lowe's will have them in the corner in the back
- 35:29Speaker 3: where they claim nobody's walking. Yeah, okay.
- 35:31Speaker 4: That's true.
- 35:32Speaker 6: I saw that we had Marco call in. He wants
- 35:34Speaker 6: to talk about the holiday decorations, too, which is awesome
- 35:37Speaker 6: that this topic has taken off.
- 35:39Speaker 3: Marco, what do you want to say?
- 35:41Speaker 11: Yeah, Craig. Further to what Russell was saying is, There's
- 35:46Speaker 11: actually Christmas decorations up now in Costco. I mean, come on.
- 35:51Speaker 11: It's gotten so ridiculous.
- 35:54Speaker 8: It has.
- 35:54Speaker 11: How soon did they put this stuff out that it's like, eh.
- 35:57Speaker 11: By the time the season gets here, it's like, eh.
- 35:59Speaker 11: Except with Christmas, there's a little more, too, because I
- 36:02Speaker 11: know it's more than just the Santa Claus thing. Yeah.
- 36:05Speaker 3: No, I understand. The religious decorations you're talking about.
- 36:09Speaker 11: So that was it. I'll jump off so someone else
- 36:12Speaker 11: could get on.
- 36:12Speaker 3: No, thank you, Marco.
- 36:13Speaker 6: I appreciate that. And I'm not saying you guys are wrong.
- 36:16Speaker 6: I'm not saying that Marco and Russell are wrong. I'm
- 36:18Speaker 6: not saying that the majority of the decoration shouldn't be
- 36:20Speaker 6: out this early, that that's ridiculous. I just, again, I'm
- 36:24Speaker 6: thinking about it in the context of a relationship. And
- 36:26Speaker 6: I guess I need to do more convincing with my
- 36:29Speaker 6: wife than you guys do in order to get the
- 36:30Speaker 6: stuff that I want.
- 36:31Speaker 8: I got a neighbor in the cul-de-sac of my street.
- 36:34Speaker 8: They've already put up their house.
- 36:35Speaker 1: I walked out last night and I looked over and
- 36:37Speaker 1: they got the purple lights and everything, the skeletons on
- 36:39Speaker 1: the yard.
- 36:39Speaker 8: I'm like, dude, it's freaking September 3rd.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. Lay back, lay off.
- 36:45Speaker 8: That's true.
- 36:46Speaker 6: You know what's also funny about that? I'm going to
- 36:48Speaker 6: admit one more thing on the radio before we take
- 36:50Speaker 6: another break in a couple minutes. My mom was the
- 36:53Speaker 6: put decorations out too early person on the block. And
- 36:55Speaker 6: so I think I grew up with it. So I
- 36:57Speaker 6: think I'm a little more forgiving to the idea of
- 36:59Speaker 6: it because it was the kind of thing that I
- 37:02Speaker 6: wasn't choosing to do it.
- 37:03Speaker 3: It wasn't my choice.
- 37:04Speaker 6: And by the way, my mom's the kind of person
- 37:06Speaker 6: that has decorations for every holiday. She decorates for Flag Day,
- 37:11Speaker 6: for example. And like growing up, I thought that was normal.
- 37:14Speaker 6: And then I wound up finding out that no one
- 37:16Speaker 6: else decorates for things like Flag Day except mom. But
- 37:20Speaker 6: she's very happy about it. She's very proud of the
- 37:22Speaker 6: decoration she has. Thanksgiving has a bunch of stuff. Thanksgiving
- 37:25Speaker 6: looks like Christmas at our house, but it's not because
- 37:28Speaker 6: everything is Thanksgiving themed. Do you decorate at all for Thanksgiving, Russell,
- 37:32Speaker 6: or no?
- 37:32Speaker 3: In the house, yes.
- 37:34Speaker 8: Outside the house, just a few things.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Nothing crazy. A few things for Halloween as well. I've
- 37:40Speaker 1: got the little purple and orange lights that go on
- 37:42Speaker 1: the bushes and the Steelers, Frankenstein.
- 37:44Speaker 8: Blow up and a blow up pumpkin. I got all that.
- 37:47Speaker 8: But yeah, yeah. Just a few things. But Christmas, I
- 37:50Speaker 8: go over the top.
- 37:51Speaker 6: I like that everything you have decoration wise also says
- 37:55Speaker 6: something else that you like. Like, it's not just that
- 37:57Speaker 6: you're a fan of Halloween or Christmas.
- 37:59Speaker 3: It's Star Wars and the Steelers. Like, there's nothing. OK,
- 38:02Speaker 3: that's amazing, dude. I don't have Yankee stuff.
- 38:05Speaker 8: Why not?
- 38:06Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 38:06Speaker 8: I have it out there. They have they have like
- 38:08Speaker 8: a like a Yankee blow up Santa Claus.
- 38:13Speaker 3: I'm going to look that up right now. Blow up
- 38:15Speaker 3: Santa Claus.
- 38:16Speaker 12: I think they do.
- 38:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I bet you they do.
- 38:17Speaker 8: I know they have it for the NFL. I think
- 38:19Speaker 8: they have it for MLB.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, they definitely, 100%. You're looking at it right there.
- 38:22Speaker 3: I'm looking at it right there. He's got a Yankee foam.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Make that purchase right now on the next break.
- 38:29Speaker 3: It's $ 170, $ 180, depending on what.
- 38:32Speaker 20: $ 113.
- 38:32Speaker 8: It's worth it.
- 38:33Speaker 12: It is.
- 38:34Speaker 6: Santa has a foam Yankee finger. He's got a Santa
- 38:38Speaker 6: toy bag that also has the Yankee emblem on it.
- 38:40Speaker 6: And then he's wearing a Santa suit. With a Yankee
- 38:43Speaker 6: emblem right on the chest. That is freaking awesome.
- 38:47Speaker 3: You're right. I do need this, Russell.
- 38:48Speaker 6: I can't avoid this purchase. I have to buy this.
- 38:52Speaker 6: You've got to buy that. Again, when I get it, though,
- 38:55Speaker 6: and this is the problem for some of the stuff
- 38:56Speaker 6: I buy. Like, I'll buy it maybe online. It'll show
- 38:59Speaker 6: up at my house. The wife will get there before me.
- 39:01Speaker 6: She'll open the thing, and she'll find out what it is.
- 39:04Speaker 6: And then I'll get some sort of text that's like, really?
- 39:06Speaker 8: Dude, send it to KCV. All right. I got you.
- 39:12Speaker 6: And then I can say some listener sent it to me. Betty,
- 39:15Speaker 6: I didn't even want this. I had no desire to
- 39:17Speaker 6: have it. All right.
- 39:18Speaker 3: This was great. We're going to take another break.
- 39:24Speaker 6: After the break, I thought the music was more stuff.
- 39:27Speaker 6: We're going to come back and we're going to talk
- 39:28Speaker 6: about some serious stuff.
- 39:30Speaker 3: But it's Friday.
- 39:31Speaker 6: And apparently the silly stuff at least is popular enough
- 39:34Speaker 6: with some of you guys that we can talk about that.
- 39:36Speaker 6: I have a mashup video that I thought was funny.
- 39:39Speaker 6: It feels a little millennial, but it's still funny. Maybe
- 39:41Speaker 6: I'll get to that more. This is KSEV Mornings. Craig Collins,
- 39:45Speaker 6: Wayne Dolcefino on Special Assignment on The Voice of Texas.

- 41:47Speaker 3: KSEV Mornings. My name is Craig Collins. This is the Craig.
- 41:52Speaker 6: And Wayne show, or the Mob Guys, I think is
- 41:55Speaker 6: what he actually wants to call it. I got a
- 41:57Speaker 6: bunch of texts from Wayne Dolcefino last night saying how
- 42:00Speaker 6: excited he was that listeners are responding.
- 42:03Speaker 3: To the Mob Guys. And I kind of love that.
- 42:07Speaker 6: By the way, I feel like Wayne Dolcefino is the
- 42:09Speaker 6: kind of guy that for a lot of people is
- 42:11Speaker 6: hard to get on the phone.
- 42:12Speaker 3: He answers when I call him. That feels like a.
- 42:14Speaker 6: Success in the world in which I currently live.
- 42:17Speaker 3: I'm not trying to brag. I'm just saying. I call
- 42:19Speaker 3: Wayne Del Trofino. He picks up the phone. All right.
- 42:22Speaker 6: Let's get to a listener that I think is going
- 42:24Speaker 6: to say some crazy stuff, but I appreciate that he
- 42:27Speaker 6: calls in and listens to the station anyway. Rusty, what
- 42:29Speaker 6: do you want to say about Tallarico? Your phone is,
- 42:35Speaker 6: your phone's, your phone's, I'm not, I'm not, I'm promised this.
- 42:38Speaker 3: I'm being honest. Your phone's breaking up.
- 42:40Speaker 7: I say, I say people left.
- 42:43Speaker 4: I don't even like.
- 42:44Speaker 6: Rusty, you got to call back in again. Your phone,
- 42:46Speaker 6: I promise I didn't hang up with on you. which
- 42:48Speaker 6: you might think that I did just because I disagree
- 42:50Speaker 6: with you on a lot of stuff. But it was
- 42:52Speaker 6: really that your phone quality was awful. So if you
- 42:54Speaker 6: call back in and we talk about Tallarico, you can
- 42:57Speaker 6: say whatever you want. I'll say what I think is
- 42:59Speaker 6: true and false about the things that you say. He
- 43:03Speaker 6: is one of our more respectful lefties. He's still crazy,
- 43:06Speaker 6: but at least he's respectful about it, not like some
- 43:08Speaker 6: of the other ones out there who lie and then
- 43:10Speaker 6: also act like I'm lying back. But, Rusty, you were
- 43:14Speaker 6: not hung up on, even though I think you might
- 43:15Speaker 6: think that you were.
- 43:17Speaker 20: All right.
- 43:17Speaker 6: One last thing that I do want to play. I
- 43:19Speaker 6: referenced it. I know it's a Friday, so I'm just
- 43:21Speaker 6: going to play it. And we'll get back to serious stuff.
- 43:24Speaker 6: We can talk more about Tallarico in a bit. But
- 43:27Speaker 6: it's a Hall & Oates mashup that is connected to
- 43:29Speaker 6: a theme song for a cartoon show, Duck Tales. I
- 43:33Speaker 6: don't know what you're going to think, the KSEV radio audience,
- 43:36Speaker 6: of these two types of music living in the same space.
- 43:40Speaker 6: But I do want to play it because I like
- 43:41Speaker 6: the mashup stuff that the Internet does a lot. And
- 43:44Speaker 6: I think it's a couple unique social media accounts that
- 43:46Speaker 6: do most of the good ones. But this is where
- 43:49Speaker 6: you take two songs, you squish them together, you make
- 43:51Speaker 6: them something that becomes popular.
- 43:53Speaker 3: This had millions of views. So two things before I
- 43:56Speaker 3: actually play on this.
- 43:57Speaker 6: I'm tremendously jealous of the people that succeed in social
- 44:00Speaker 6: media with some of the easiest stuff out there to do.
- 44:03Speaker 6: It annoys the crap out of me because our station
- 44:05Speaker 6: tries very hard in a lot of ways to get
- 44:07Speaker 6: your attention, certainly on the Internet. And we don't go
- 44:10Speaker 6: the easy route of just putting DuckTales in the same
- 44:13Speaker 6: thing as like a Hall & Oates song. And we should,
- 44:16Speaker 6: I guess, because this is how we'd get a whole
- 44:18Speaker 6: bunch of follows and listens and people paying attention that
- 44:21Speaker 6: probably also hate our politics.
- 44:22Speaker 3: But then the other thing about this is I think this.
- 44:24Speaker 6: Is inherently millennial or younger, but just because the cartoon
- 44:30Speaker 6: is one that I remember as a kid and one
- 44:32Speaker 6: that had a pretty good theme song, if I'm being honest.
- 44:35Speaker 3: But here we go. Hall & Oates singing. DuckTales music
- 44:44Speaker 3: behind it. This is funny to me.
- 44:47Speaker 8: This is funny.
- 45:06Speaker 3: That shouldn't work that well. It shouldn't work.
- 45:09Speaker 6: You might not care at all about the DuckTales theme song,
- 45:12Speaker 6: but those two things should not go together that easily,
- 45:14Speaker 6: and yet they do. It looks like Robert is calling
- 45:17Speaker 6: from Pearland. I think this is, as Chris X calls him,
- 45:20Speaker 6: the Cracker Croaker. Robert, how are you doing, buddy?
- 45:24Speaker 4: Very well, sir. I was cracking up about your comment
- 45:27Speaker 4: about that the husband has to justify it to the wife.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Oh, you have to.
- 45:31Speaker 4: That's probably something to that.
- 45:33Speaker 8: Yes.
- 45:34Speaker 6: I'm married to a Latina, though, man, so it might
- 45:36Speaker 6: be my own wife and how I have to win
- 45:37Speaker 6: her over on most arguments.
- 45:39Speaker 3: Is there anything else you wanted to say, though?
- 45:42Speaker 4: Well, no, that's just a start. So my theory is
- 45:45Speaker 4: that these things are so big and expensive and horrendous,
- 45:48Speaker 4: you know, it's like They have to leave it up
- 45:51Speaker 4: two months to justify spending that money getting the use
- 45:55Speaker 4: out of it.
- 45:56Speaker 3: That's true.
- 45:56Speaker 4: It reminds me of like 4th of July where these
- 46:00Speaker 4: idiots get into the little fireworks place and buy and buy.
- 46:04Speaker 4: Now they spent $ 2, 000 and they got to put a
- 46:08Speaker 4: pop them all and they're up till sunrise the next
- 46:10Speaker 4: day still blowing out firecrackers to justify the purchase.
- 46:13Speaker 6: That's a great point, Robert, to be honest. I'm looking
- 46:16Speaker 6: at the price of this stuff. Some of these 20-foot
- 46:19Speaker 6: skeleton things that you can put in your front yard
- 46:21Speaker 6: are like $ 350. And if I'm spending $ 350 on one decoration,
- 46:26Speaker 6: you are right. I probably want that thing to feel
- 46:29Speaker 6: like it had more of a shelf life than, say,
- 46:32Speaker 6: two weeks.
- 46:33Speaker 3: I want this thing to last a while. I'm probably
- 46:35Speaker 3: bringing it with me.
- 46:36Speaker 4: You want pictures on the Facebook, man.
- 46:37Speaker 6: You want it.
- 46:38Speaker 8: You want your neighbors.
- 46:39Speaker 4: You want to start a party about your freaking tree.
- 46:41Speaker 4: You got the front yard, 30 foot Christmas tree.
- 46:44Speaker 18: It's true.
- 46:45Speaker 11: That are, you know, latex.
- 46:46Speaker 6: All right, wait, I want, I want a judge's ruling
- 46:49Speaker 6: on this, which is what I usually call this sort
- 46:50Speaker 6: of thing. When we all give our own opinion, Russell
- 46:52Speaker 6: can chime in too. A 30 foot Christmas tree sounds
- 46:55Speaker 6: way better than like a 20 foot skeleton. If I
- 46:58Speaker 6: were ever going to go crazy with, and buy a
- 47:01Speaker 6: ridiculous thing that's at my front yard, I think just
- 47:04Speaker 6: a simple giant tree is far and away the most
- 47:07Speaker 6: likely option for me.
- 47:08Speaker 3: Does that sound right for you guys or no?
- 47:11Speaker 16: Robert?
- 47:12Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 47:12Speaker 9: Okay.
- 47:13Speaker 4: Not even close.
- 47:14Speaker 18: Yeah, right.
- 47:14Speaker 4: That's an obvious because a skeleton, you know, is no
- 47:18Speaker 4: redeeming value artistically whatsoever.
- 47:21Speaker 20: It's true.
- 47:22Speaker 3: That's true.
- 47:22Speaker 6: You can't decorate it with lights for Christmas. All right,
- 47:24Speaker 6: thanks for the call, Robert, the Cracker Croakers. Is there
- 47:26Speaker 6: anything else you wanted to say or was that it?
- 47:29Speaker 4: No, I just like the setups. Really working good.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Thank you, buddy. Yeah.
- 47:34Speaker 6: I don't know what to talk about sometimes on the show.
- 47:35Speaker 6: I'll be honest with you. Like, this is something else
- 47:37Speaker 6: I'll say. And I'm just going to say this because
- 47:40Speaker 6: half of the first hour of this show has been
- 47:42Speaker 6: different content than I usually do. There's a lot of
- 47:46Speaker 6: opinions in our industry as to what works and what
- 47:49Speaker 6: doesn't work. There's a lot of people I've talked to
- 47:51Speaker 6: that are consultants. And I actually love when I talk to, say,
- 47:55Speaker 6: some of my radio friends about consultants because a lot
- 47:58Speaker 6: of them hate them. because a consultant is someone who
- 48:01Speaker 6: tells you how to do something, but they don't want
- 48:02Speaker 6: to actually do it themselves, which is usually weird. I
- 48:06Speaker 6: think that most people who give advice at a professional
- 48:10Speaker 6: level should have done the thing they're giving advice about,
- 48:13Speaker 6: at least somewhat successfully, in order to say that. But
- 48:16Speaker 6: I do actually like a consultant who would be a
- 48:18Speaker 6: terrible radio host.
- 48:20Speaker 3: I like working with him.
- 48:21Speaker 6: But anyway, the point of this is, A lot of
- 48:23Speaker 6: people will give you a lot of opinions about what
- 48:25Speaker 6: people do and don't like and do and don't want
- 48:27Speaker 6: to listen to. And they'll tell you what you should
- 48:29Speaker 6: and shouldn't talk about. And at the end of the day,
- 48:32Speaker 6: we don't know. I feel like it's sort of similar
- 48:35Speaker 6: to the things I've seen in, say, investment worlds. And
- 48:40Speaker 6: I'm even going to quote like the Wolf of Wall Street.
- 48:43Speaker 6: Nobody knows if a stock is going to go up
- 48:45Speaker 6: and down. Nobody really knows. We think we know.
- 48:47Speaker 3: We project. We guess.
- 48:49Speaker 6: But the reality of actually definitively understanding... what could and
- 48:52Speaker 6: couldn't be successful, you don't actually know. You say you do,
- 48:57Speaker 6: but you don't. And the people who get that wrong,
- 48:59Speaker 6: and now I'm just ranting about radio philosophy on the show.
- 49:02Speaker 6: This is probably not good. The people who get that
- 49:05Speaker 6: wrong never admit they get it wrong. My other favorite
- 49:07Speaker 6: thing is that when someone gave me advice that they
- 49:09Speaker 6: definitively knew, like to them, was the right approach to
- 49:12Speaker 6: something like, this is, we have to do this. We
- 49:15Speaker 6: got to do it this way. It's going to work.
- 49:17Speaker 6: And then it fails spectacularly. They disappear from the discussion.
- 49:22Speaker 6: I assume a lot of people feel that way about
- 49:24Speaker 6: their own job, about the own advice they get. Maybe
- 49:26Speaker 6: it's a boss that you think doesn't understand what works
- 49:29Speaker 6: for you at the job that you're doing in a
- 49:32Speaker 6: role below them.
- 49:33Speaker 3: I don't know who it is.
- 49:34Speaker 6: Maybe it's a coworker that says that they know how
- 49:36Speaker 6: to do your job better than you. But there's a
- 49:38Speaker 6: lot of times. Or you might follow the advice of
- 49:41Speaker 6: someone else who gives it to you just strongly, gives
- 49:44Speaker 6: it to you knowing and acting as though they believe
- 49:47Speaker 6: it to be true.
- 49:48Speaker 3: And the minute it fails, they vanish. They vanish into
- 49:51Speaker 3: the night.
- 49:51Speaker 20: All right.
- 49:52Speaker 6: I want to play one other thing. I do like
- 49:54Speaker 6: this a lot, too, as far as sillier stuff goes.
- 49:57Speaker 6: This is a chef that I guess is pretty popular
- 50:01Speaker 6: on social media. His name is Andrew Zimmer. He puts
- 50:05Speaker 6: up a lot of videos where he reviews stuff.
- 50:08Speaker 3: I don't know where he actually works. It says he's
- 50:09Speaker 3: a chef. I don't know.
- 50:11Speaker 6: I've never heard of the guy. Maybe you all know him,
- 50:13Speaker 6: and he's some super famous person that I'm unaware of.
- 50:16Speaker 6: But he recently did a review of gas station pizza,
- 50:20Speaker 6: and he said the best gas station pizza, and he
- 50:23Speaker 6: thinks it's actually better than a lot of legitimate pizza places,
- 50:26Speaker 6: is Casey's. Do we have Casey's in Texas? I think
- 50:30Speaker 6: that answer is probably no.
- 50:31Speaker 8: I don't think so.
- 50:31Speaker 3: I've never heard of it. You've never heard of what
- 50:33Speaker 3: it is?
- 50:34Speaker 6: Casey's is a gas station kind of like Buc-ee's, but
- 50:36Speaker 6: not as insane. Just with a really big focus on food.
- 50:40Speaker 6: It's like Wawa on the East Coast, too. Which, do
- 50:43Speaker 6: we have any Wawa? We don't have any Wawas.
- 50:44Speaker 8: No Wawas here. None of that. Wawas are great, but
- 50:47Speaker 8: they're not here.
- 50:47Speaker 3: Wawas are great. Now, what is our equivalent to that?
- 50:50Speaker 6: Because Buc-ee's doesn't compare. Buc-ee's is the top.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I know it is.
- 50:55Speaker 6: But is there something that's really just food and gas
- 50:57Speaker 6: and not ridiculousness, which is the other thing that Buc-ee's is?
- 51:01Speaker 3: Do we have any of that here or no?
- 51:03Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 51:03Speaker 1: All right.
- 51:04Speaker 3: Well, it's fine. It's Texas.
- 51:05Speaker 6: We can't handle something that's just two things. It's got
- 51:08Speaker 6: to be bigger than that. It's got to be better
- 51:09Speaker 6: than that. But anyway, I want to play this audio.
- 51:12Speaker 6: This is a chef guy reviewing gas station pizza and
- 51:15Speaker 6: saying it's delicious.
- 51:16Speaker 3: And here's the thing.
- 51:18Speaker 6: And I'll say this as a person who was born
- 51:20Speaker 6: on the East Coast and believes myself to be a
- 51:22Speaker 6: pizza snob. This cannot be true. It can't be as
- 51:26Speaker 6: good as actual like restaurant pizza other places. The reason
- 51:30Speaker 6: they think it's good is is because they went to
- 51:33Speaker 6: a gas station and their brain told them as they
- 51:35Speaker 6: walked in the door, this can't be as good as
- 51:38Speaker 6: other stuff. It's sort of like when you go see
- 51:40Speaker 6: improv comedy. It's not as funny as an actual comedian,
- 51:44Speaker 6: but you know it's harder. So you say to yourself,
- 51:47Speaker 6: that was as funny as the other thing, but it's not.
- 51:49Speaker 6: Your brain is giving them a little bit more grace
- 51:52Speaker 6: than they deserve. But here's the viral video of the
- 51:55Speaker 6: guy saying that Casey's gas station's Create amazing pizza.
- 51:58Speaker 18: Stop the Casey's.
- 51:59Speaker 16: It's brunch time.
- 52:00Speaker 12: It's the weekend. I feel like pizza.
- 52:03Speaker 8: I'm going to try several of their more popular varieties
- 52:06Speaker 8: and try to rank them for you.
- 52:07Speaker 12: Breakfast pizza.
- 52:09Speaker 14: Homemade dough.
- 52:11Speaker 12: Eggs.
- 52:12Speaker 1: Cheese.
- 52:13Speaker 18: Sausage.
- 52:14Speaker 12: Solid 10 out of 10.
- 52:16Speaker 3: Taco pizza.
- 52:17Speaker 1: One of my favorites.
- 52:19Speaker 12: I'm going to go with 11 out of 10.
- 52:21Speaker 7: Say pepperoni.
- 52:22Speaker 12: Rock solid 11 out of 10. Barbecue brisket pizza.
- 52:31Speaker 3: No, it is not a 14 out of 10. That
- 52:34Speaker 3: is not true.
- 52:35Speaker 6: And actually, I'm going to say something. And I feel
- 52:37Speaker 6: like I've I don't know if I've ever talked about
- 52:38Speaker 6: this on the show before. I feel like I only
- 52:40Speaker 6: did it once when I was doing a weekend show
- 52:43Speaker 6: because that was the safest place to do it.
- 52:45Speaker 3: Bucky's is good. It's not great for food.
- 52:49Speaker 8: It's not great.
- 52:50Speaker 3: Can we admit that.
- 52:51Speaker 8: It's not talking about they get great barbecue sandwiches?
- 52:53Speaker 3: It's like compared pretty good compared.
- 52:56Speaker 6: To like an actual barbecue place in Texas to go
- 52:59Speaker 6: and not the gas station like Bucky's is fun.
- 53:01Speaker 3: I enjoy the atmosphere of it.
- 53:03Speaker 8: Is the food really as.
- 53:05Speaker 3: Good as the other places? Russell.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Oh, OK.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Am I going to admit that alone?
- 53:13Speaker 8: Is it good?
- 53:13Speaker 3: Yeah, it's good.
- 53:14Speaker 6: But part of the reason you're so impressed with it
- 53:16Speaker 6: is because it's a gas station. Even though it's the
- 53:19Speaker 6: most ridiculous gas station in the country, it's still a
- 53:22Speaker 6: gas station. It's the best gas station in the country.
- 53:24Speaker 6: That's easy for that to, but it's not anyway.
- 53:27Speaker 3: All right.
- 53:27Speaker 6: If you want to call in and tell me why
- 53:28Speaker 6: I'm wrong about Buc-ee's, you can. I like to do
- 53:31Speaker 6: the hot Texas take at the end of a segment.
- 53:34Speaker 6: This is KSEV Mornings. Greg Collins, Wayne Dolcefino on Special
- 53:38Speaker 6: Assignment on The Voice of Texas.
