- 1:10Welcome in to another exciting episode of the scene.
- 1:13I'm your host, Bubba Starts, and this is Love Noise.
- 1:17This is our weekly live show every Wednesday at 9PM.
- 1:21We bring another independent artist from around the world on with us.
- 1:25We listen to their music, and we talk about the stories behind the songs.
- 1:30As always, with me is my cohost, Wild Willie.
- 1:35What's happening, Willie?
- 1:36Not much, buddy.
- 1:37How are you tonight?
- 1:38I'm good, man.
- 1:39Another great Momo meetup we had tonight that we do on Wednesdays as well.
- 1:44We got to meet some young some young artists, Another one that you brought to the table who
- 1:50I'm excited to have on the show coming up in a few weeks, but we also had a young man from
- 1:55Arkansas that's making a whole lot of noise.
- 1:58Let's bring in our boy, Asher.
- 2:00Hey.
- 2:01What's up, y'all?
- 2:02What's up, dude?
- 2:03How you doing, man?
- 2:05Doing great.
- 2:06Doing great, man.
- 2:07Happy to be here.
- 2:08Yeah.
- 2:09Fresh off your appearance at Spookstock down there at Captain Jack's.
- 2:13Man, I was so proud when, Willie sent me the video of you up there doing your thing.
- 2:19Little brother, I I just continue to be amazed by you more and more, man.
- 2:24Yeah.
- 2:24It it was fun being in Missouri.
- 2:26I love it there.
- 2:27It's it's so pretty, and then the views and music music was great, man.
- 2:31I I had a blast.
- 2:33Yeah.
- 2:33I saw you drunk.
- 2:34Were you a bottle of vodka for one of the nights?
- 2:37Yeah.
- 2:37Yeah.
- 2:38Yeah.
- 2:38I was.
- 2:39Yeah.
- 2:39Yep.
- 2:43Showing off that personality, man.
- 2:45I love it, Asher.
- 2:47Oh, yeah.
- 2:49So I I mean, besides playing up at Captain Jacks again, what have you been up to?
- 2:55That's the that's the last place that I left you.
- 2:59Yeah.
- 2:59Yeah.
- 3:00Yeah.
- 3:00That pretty much really, I've been working on music.
- 3:03I've I've really been just trying to write more and really work and hopefully get an EP or
- 3:10something drop soon or, like, a a bunch of music just like I I kinda wanna get some music
- 3:16going.
- 3:16But when I drop it, though, I wanna drop just a bunch with it.
- 3:20Just trying to upgrade my sound and, you know, bring, like, merch to table, merch, and just
- 3:26more more stuff and just make it a better drop than you do.
- 3:31I don't wanna drop just, like, just, like, one song.
- 3:34I I wanna drop a collective of things, you know, like like an album or something, kinda
- 3:38make it bigger.
- 3:39You know?
- 3:40A collection of songs and really be able to to spread your wings a little bit, man.
- 3:46Yeah.
- 3:47That's awesome.
- 3:48I've been working on an album myself for a long time, and that's kind of where I'm at is, like,
- 3:54what do I do with this?
- 3:55Like, I don't even wanna give in to the singles drop and the way that they want me to release
- 4:00music.
- 4:01Yeah.
- 4:01That's very true.
- 4:02Yeah.
- 4:02Hear it, man.
- 4:03You know what?
- 4:03I wanna get it out there for the people and to be able to really, you know, deliver a body of
- 4:09work.
- 4:10And I think that's where you're at in your career now as well is that, you know, you have
- 4:15you have several songs that are out there already.
- 4:17People have a feel for what you've done, but, I think that you're starting to write in blocks
- 4:24more.
- 4:24Right?
- 4:24Where maybe in the early goings, it was writing a song and producing that one where maybe
- 4:29you're getting a little bit faster at producing songs and writing in that whole process that
- 4:34you can release a block of
- 4:36it.
- 4:37Yeah.
- 4:38Most definitely.
- 4:40That's awesome, man.
- 4:42So what is the new stuff sounding like?
- 4:44Does it sound like the old stuff?
- 4:46Is it different?
- 4:47What what's what's coming out next?
- 4:50So for those who don't know, I have a song called black magic, and the new album is
- 4:55definitely taking a lot of inspiration from that song.
- 4:58Think think of that song, but just a whole lot better, man.
- 5:02Just think, like, bigger and and better.
- 5:04Like, I this idea that I have for this this album is is huge.
- 5:08Something like, you know, larger than life.
- 5:10You know?
- 5:10I I wanna go more in-depth into things I experienced in my life, you know, and and try
- 5:15and write it down on paper and putting other people to listen to and and relate to.
- 5:21You know?
- 5:21It's kinda like a larger than life thing.
- 5:24And I'm I'm and I'm I'm getting so close to where I want it, and I'm I'm excited when when
- 5:29I can, you know, be able to prove release that.
- 5:31You know?
- 5:33Well and you've been doing a lot of growing.
- 5:36I mean, you know, you're you're 19 years old for people that don't know.
- 5:40You're a young man, just graduated high school, playing a lot of live shows really for the
- 5:45first time in your life and getting out there and interacting with crowds, but also starting
- 5:52your own business.
- 5:54Tell us a little bit about what it's like to be a young entrepreneur.
- 5:58So I'm a very ambitious person.
- 6:01I I always shoot for the stars.
- 6:03I mean, I love music, and I I've always wanted to dabble my hands in everything.
- 6:10And with work being slow right now, I've really, you know, put my put my hands in
- 6:14everything I can.
- 6:15And I've always wanted run my own business.
- 6:17I've always wanted to I just thought the idea of it would be so cool.
- 6:20I've always wanted to kind of have my own business and and run it and just see what it
- 6:25was like.
- 6:26And so I'm really beginning in in, like, power washing.
- 6:29So or, like, late October that I was gonna be starting up, all of them power washing.
- 6:35So y'all y'all watch out for that.
- 6:37I actually have a Facebook page dedicated to that now.
- 6:41I'm gonna start posting to that, and I'm I'm really excited about that.
- 6:45That's awesome.
- 6:46Will, you got anything that needs power washed there in, Salem, Missouri?
- 6:50I would say my house, but I'm afraid it might fall apart at this point.
- 6:56Well and, Asher, you sent me the logo, and it was an elephant with the hose,
- 7:03you know, with the
- 7:03trunk as a hose, and I just thought that was so cool.
- 7:06Great branding.
- 7:07Yeah.
- 7:07Based off my last name.
- 7:08Yeah.
- 7:09Yeah, man.
- 7:10Well and I wish you nothing but the the utmost success in everything that you do.
- 7:15But nice to have, a a hustle that you're not having to go and, like, give someone else your
- 7:22time.
- 7:23Right?
- 7:23Like, you can make your schedule and and you can run your business so that you're still free
- 7:28to run your other business, which is your passion, right, which is your
- 7:32Exactly.
- 7:32Yep.
- 7:33It's so important.
- 7:35And as someone who's kind of tried to do both while, you know, when I was working, I had a
- 7:42little bit more money to invest in my business, but I was also, like, exhausted.
- 7:46You can see me yawning now.
- 7:48I mean, I was never up till 09:00 on a Wednesday when I was working at the factory and
- 7:52waking up at 04:00 in the morning.
- 7:54Right?
- 7:55So, like, in many ways, this isn't even possible if I don't, you know what I mean, if I
- 8:00don't have my own business.
- 8:02So I know what it means, and I'm just I'm proud of you, man.
- 8:06I love how ambitious you are to just get out there and go after everything, man.
- 8:10It's beautiful.
- 8:11Thank you.
- 8:12Yeah.
- 8:12I I'm very ambitious.
- 8:14I appreciate that a whole lot that come from you, Bubba.
- 8:16Well and you have to be ambitious in this in this life, you know, not only in music, in our
- 8:22business, especially you have to be because there's so many other people that want it too.
- 8:27Right?
- 8:28There's so many people that are willing to give it everything that you can't come in here and
- 8:34half ass it.
- 8:35No.
- 8:35You cannot.
- 8:36That's for sure.
- 8:36Definitely not.
- 8:38No.
- 8:38And that's a big impetus for why we started the Midwest original music organization because I
- 8:43think there's a lot of, there's a lot of misconceptions about what it is to be a, quote,
- 8:49unquote, rock star.
- 8:51And and, you know, one of those is that, you know, that it's all glitz and glamour.
- 8:59And and, really, it's a lot of freaking work.
- 9:03It's a lot of, work that nobody sees.
- 9:07It's a lot of work
- 9:08that nobody's
- 9:09paying you to do.
- 9:11Exactly.
- 9:12But it all has to be done.
- 9:14And, I think that what we're able to do now and especially, with our weekly meetups, which
- 9:20you've been a part of several of now, is that we're able to share the realness of the
- 9:27industry with young artists like yourself and old artists like Willie alike.
- 9:31I mean, it's it's all the same.
- 9:32Yeah.
- 9:35Yeah.
- 9:35It's one of those things where, I mean, there there's glamour to it, but you don't see that.
- 9:39So, I mean, you're making and making you gotta start from the very bottom.
- 9:43People don't seem to see that.
- 9:44You know?
- 9:44They they just see the, the the outcome of it.
- 9:47Right?
- 9:48They don't see the hardship that musicians like myself, you know, that that we go through.
- 9:52You gotta you can and, exactly, you can't just come in here and just half ass it.
- 9:55Definitely not.
- 9:55You you gotta work hard for it.
- 9:58Yeah.
- 9:58And that's everything from the the marketing behind the scenes, the songwriting, the
- 10:04production.
- 10:05And then what people see is that performance, and they see that bit, and they're like, oh,
- 10:10that's so cool.
- 10:12Like, must be nice.
- 10:13And you're like, you haven't seen the hundreds of hours invested to just get to this moment
- 10:21where I get to step on stage for, you know, a few songs and to do my thing.
- 10:27And granted, there's no feeling that can replace that, coming from someone that's tried
- 10:33to replace that with, you know, substances or other, you know, things that I've tried to
- 10:39chase.
- 10:40It's just not possible.
- 10:42So, I love that you're out there.
- 10:44You're doing it.
- 10:45You're doing it big.
- 10:47You're giving it everything you got, and that is, commendable at the very least.
- 10:52So congratulations to you, young man, on continuing to Oh, man.
- 10:57To chase this dream, brother.
- 10:59It's beautiful to watch.
- 11:00Well, we're gonna listen to some music tonight too, Willie.
- 11:07He mentioned Black Magic.
- 11:09I wanna save that one for last because I kinda wanna build up to something.
- 11:13So let me, no.
- 11:18Which one you know what?
- 11:20I'm I'm getting to pick.
- 11:21Have faith we're gonna say for second.
- 11:23You got letting go on here, and that's one of my favorite ones.
- 11:26So we're gonna listen to that song first, Asher, if that's alright with you.
- 11:29Oh, yeah.
- 11:29Go ahead.
- 11:32Alright.
- 11:33Change our scene.
- 11:34Oh, look at my man up there on stage.
- 11:36I love it.
- 11:37I love I stole this off your Facebook page.
- 11:42Alright.
- 11:42This is Asher letting go.
- 14:55Yes, sir.
- 14:56Asher, god.
- 14:57I love that song, man.
- 14:58Me too.
- 14:59Thank you, man.
- 15:01You let it go on stage when you're performing it too.
- 15:05And Yeah.
- 15:06One thing that we we talked about tonight on our Momo meetup was, like, when when you're
- 15:12performing that, I I really hope that you pull the the vocal tracks off of that so that we can
- 15:19hear your real voice.
- 15:21And especially when you're hitting, you know, those screaming parts at the end, like, we
- 15:26wanna hear you do that live.
- 15:27And and when you're bring when you're covering it up with what the track is doing, it doesn't
- 15:33necessarily deliver the full effect of what you're doing.
- 15:36Like, yeah, we can see you it you doing it.
- 15:40Right?
- 15:40But it it's sometimes hard to decipher what's you on stage and what's the track.
- 15:46Right?
- 15:47And while the track is awesome and we love that, when you're performing live, we wanna
- 15:51hear you.
- 15:52Right?
- 15:52Yeah.
- 15:54Oh, yeah.
- 15:55And, you know, I love when you perform, Ashley.
- 15:58You do.
- 15:59You have a stage presence in the way you work your crowd, you know, like we were talking
- 16:03about, earlier.
- 16:05If you can take that off them tracks and just have the track itself, you'll be able to
- 16:13interact with the audience a little better and not have to worry about, oh, am I gonna be able
- 16:20to catch the next lyric?
- 16:21Yeah.
- 16:22Sorry.
- 16:22Yeah.
- 16:23It'll give you a little bit of freedom.
- 16:27And it will I I feel like if you have the tracks on there, it dilutes a little bit of
- 16:33your live performance.
- 16:34Right?
- 16:34And you deliver all of that stuff live.
- 16:38It's just sometimes hard to pick it all out from to decipher what's the track and what's
- 16:43you live.
- 16:44So the track is freaking awesome, man.
- 16:46I think that's the first time I've heard it without you, trying to to sing on top and over
- 16:51top of it.
- 16:52And, freaking killer, man.
- 16:54Now you self produced all of this stuff.
- 16:57Correct?
- 16:57Yeah.
- 16:58Yeah.
- 16:59So what's that process like?
- 17:01I mean, we hear a lot of, like, hip hop that's produced at home, and I feel like that's a
- 17:05little bit maybe, I don't wanna say easier because I can't do any of this stuff, but, you
- 17:10know, making a beat or something is different.
- 17:13This is a lot different music.
- 17:15What's that process like to create all of this instrumentation and and stuff to then be able
- 17:21to deliver your lyrics on top of it?
- 17:23So it was, like, the heavier stuff.
- 17:26Like, when I first started out, the hip hop beats, I did those by myself.
- 17:31They weren't too difficult, honestly.
- 17:34I mean, it took forever, though.
- 17:36Beats take think a very like, I can, you know, put the booking on something and it sound
- 17:42decent quickly.
- 17:43You know?
- 17:43But beats take a very long time.
- 17:46But in the beginning, beats were was what I was making, and it was easy.
- 17:51But since I have this certain sound that I wanna get, which is really, like, a modern,
- 17:57like, metal rock sound that, I mean, I could put on the radio.
- 18:00You know what I'm saying?
- 18:01But I don't have the capabilities, to make it sound so amazing.
- 18:08So I started reaching out to local bands and just or, like, producers that would help me
- 18:13create, you know, like, help me because I'm just a one man band.
- 18:18You know?
- 18:18I would, you know, create the guitars and, some my one of my friends, the drummer, like, hey,
- 18:24man.
- 18:24Can you think you should do some drum tracks on, like, on this or whatever?
- 18:27You know?
- 18:28And we'd come together and try and make something great and then hand over to my my
- 18:33producer and be like, hey, man.
- 18:34I have this.
- 18:35I mean, it's it's decent, but I know you can just do that polishing touch.
- 18:39And but recently, though, I've been working with a bunch of producers just helping me get
- 18:44the sound that I that I need.
- 18:46So big shout out to all of them, man.
- 18:48They they really helped me develop my sound towards where I want it.
- 18:53That's awesome.
- 18:54So you have some friends and local musicians that were on on letting go with you?
- 18:59Yeah.
- 19:00Dude, it sounds awesome.
- 19:04Yeah.
- 19:05There there's a lot of great talent in Arkansas, man.
- 19:07It's just yeah.
- 19:09The there it's you you wouldn't think there there would be much of, a a metal scene or
- 19:13anything like that, but the metal scene here is it's, like, it it's incredible.
- 19:20Yeah.
- 19:20I mean, I'm soup I'm super impressed.
- 19:23I don't I don't know that I could produce something like that.
- 19:26I mean, I don't play all the instruments proficiently a lot like you where I'm like, I
- 19:30can bring a little bit to the table, and I have this song, but I really need a lot of help to
- 19:36bring it all to fruition.
- 19:38So it's awesome that you can bring together a bunch of people to to help you create this and
- 19:44to deliver such a rock solid product.
- 19:47And, I mean, if this is where you're, like, starting out at, where you're going is so so
- 19:53far above that.
- 19:54It's pretty unreal to kind of consider.
- 19:58Yeah.
- 19:58It's Yeah.
- 19:59It's an amazing track.
- 20:01Like, I think this is the first time I've actually heard it myself.
- 20:07I've heard you perform it, but I think this is actually truly the first time that I've
- 20:12actually you know?
- 20:15And, I mean, I'm I'm gonna need help with what I'm gonna do because I'm just a one man band,
- 20:21and, you know, I wanna do something that sounds so great and so big and so greater than life.
- 20:27I'm gonna need to have help.
- 20:28You know, I'm I'm I'm happy to, like, outsource other musicians, you know, to help get me with,
- 20:32like, what what I want.
- 20:34Melissa is the producers.
- 20:35The producers are, very helpful.
- 20:37Getting it like that that crisp crisp, like, sound and and just making it sound sound good.
- 20:47Yeah.
- 20:48And we talked a little bit about that, you know, on the Momo meetup tonight as well.
- 20:53And especially for young artists, I think you're not I mean, I don't wanna say that
- 20:59you're pigeonholed because some of you guys are so talented, but it's if you want that
- 21:06professional sound, sometimes you have to work professionals.
- 21:10Right?
- 21:10Yeah.
- 21:11And and it's just it's part of the game.
- 21:13I mean, I have to work with professionals.
- 21:15Right?
- 21:15The the tracks that I have, and maybe I'll get to play one for you tonight and to share one of
- 21:21my songs with you.
- 21:21Like, I didn't do all that by myself.
- 21:24Like, I just have, you know, friends that have been in this industry for as long as I have and
- 21:29are able to help me to do that where I'm not, you know, spending my whole month's paycheck on
- 21:36building that like I would have.
- 21:38I was maybe trying to go to Nashville or or, you know, some some place like that with with,
- 21:42you know, professional studios.
- 21:44So
- 21:45I'm just glad you finally admitted that you needed help, Bubba.
- 21:49I hope it's mental help you're seeing.
- 21:51You are you are
- 21:52here because I need help, Willie.
- 21:55I can't do it all.
- 21:56There's just not enough hours in the day.
- 21:58You ain't That's, but that's why the same product exists is that we all help each other.
- 22:06Right?
- 22:06Like, we all bring something different to the table.
- 22:09And when we roll through Arkansas and the tour bus needs to be washed, we know who we can call
- 22:15now.
- 22:15Right?
- 22:19He's like, as long as you let me get on the bus afterwards.
- 22:22Heck yeah.
- 22:23Take that power washer with you.
- 22:25On the bus.
- 22:26Take that power washer with you.
- 22:28Yeah.
- 22:29We'll make a little trailer for it to pull behind the tour bus.
- 22:34In case we need to make a few bucks while we're out there, we
- 22:36can Yeah.
- 22:36Exactly.
- 22:37Yeah.
- 22:37Yeah.
- 22:38There you go.
- 22:39There you go.
- 22:41Oh, man.
- 22:42It's so so awesome to speak with just young talented people, man.
- 22:49I wish I wish I would have had mentors like me when I was your age.
- 22:57Right?
- 22:58A lot of what I have was guys that were kinda stuck in what the music industry used to be.
- 23:04Right?
- 23:05Where, it was either, well, you gotta play covers to ever make it in this world or you
- 23:11have to, you know, go to Nashville or LA or New York and you gotta get signed and you, like,
- 23:18you don't have to do any of that shit.
- 23:20Right?
- 23:20Yeah.
- 23:20And I and I'm able to to kinda sit back and to now, coach and to provide some guidance to some
- 23:29of you young people.
- 23:30And not that you couldn't find this information somewhere else.
- 23:32I had to learn it from somewhere, but we've already established that modicum of trust.
- 23:38Right?
- 23:39You know, we got to travel around for three, four days sleeping in parking lots in Memphis,
- 23:44sweating our ass off.
- 23:45Yeah.
- 23:46Yeah.
- 23:46Getting to Missouri so we could perform for Vibe Fest.
- 23:50There's that level of trust, and I still kinda I I kinda scratch my head that your mom was
- 23:56like, yeah, man.
- 23:57He can jump in with you.
- 23:58It's all good.
- 23:59Have fun.
- 24:00And, like, okay.
- 24:02Well, I well, I appreciate that.
- 24:06Are you sure that's I don't know.
- 24:09I'm not
- 24:10a serial killer.
- 24:12Yeah.
- 24:12Well, you know yeah.
- 24:16And especially with someone like me who has the rap sheet that I have too, where you're like,
- 24:19are you sure you wanna send your your young child off?
- 24:24I mean, you're not young.
- 24:25You're 18.
- 24:25You're 19 now.
- 24:26You're a young man.
- 24:28You know?
- 24:29But it it was nice that I was able to establish that trust, you know, with your mom and to be
- 24:35able to Yeah.
- 24:36You know, let let her baby go out and to experience a little bit of that dream and to do
- 24:42it in a pretty safe environment.
- 24:44Right?
- 24:45You know, like, I'm not gonna let anything bad happen to you out there.
- 24:48They still had to come pick your ass up out of Missouri.
- 24:51I wasn't bringing you back home, but it it it was really awesome.
- 24:56It was really awesome
- 24:57Oh, yeah.
- 24:57It was time with you to give you a taste of it, and now you've been back there again on your
- 25:03own.
- 25:04Right?
- 25:04And did your parent did your mom go up with you this time?
- 25:07Yeah.
- 25:08Yeah.
- 25:08She did.
- 25:09She she she loves it now.
- 25:10She's like, we're we're gonna go up there all the time now.
- 25:12I'm like, oh, okay.
- 25:13Alright.
- 25:15That's awesome, man.
- 25:16She loves it.
- 25:17Dude, I'm glad she got to go up and to see you perform up there and to see that beautiful
- 25:22space that they have up at Captain Jack's RV Park And Campground in Summersville, Missouri.
- 25:29They don't have ads on the show yet, but I think they will hear soon.
- 25:33Great people.
- 25:34Big shout out to Carrie and Leo for everything that they've done for the music scene out there
- 25:39and, everything that they're, you know, doing for the scene projects and our network and and
- 25:44what we're doing.
- 25:45Little spill on the tea here, but Willie's gonna be hosting a big event out there, May 16.
- 25:52We are putting together a fundraiser for operation combating veteran suicide.
- 25:56Oh, awesome.
- 25:57It's, yeah.
- 25:58Well, I hope that you're able to make the trip, man.
- 26:01It would be really great to have you back out there.
- 26:04Oh, yeah.
- 26:07For sure.
- 26:09You know, you can't forget Casey.
- 26:11Crazy Casey.
- 26:12I I love her to death, but she puts on some really good events.
- 26:16She does.
- 26:17She I mean, we for SpookFest, we had a lot of artists, man.
- 26:20That was it it was crazy.
- 26:22But, I mean, I love Missouri.
- 26:23My mom, she loved it too, but she loves she loves the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 26:26Like, she literally went there and was like, I'm gonna get everything, Kansas City Chief.
- 26:30I'm gonna, you know, just trying to get everything she can.
- 26:33She's so big on football.
- 26:35So she she loved it.
- 26:36She had she had a blast.
- 26:38I knew I liked get
- 26:39you booked up with KC then during football season.
- 26:42Yes, man.
- 26:43To a game.
- 26:44Yes.
- 26:44If may yes.
- 26:45We yeah.
- 26:47She would love that.
- 26:48Yeah.
- 26:49That would be awesome.
- 26:50That'd be awesome.
- 26:52If that's the case, I know a sound guy.
- 26:56Willie Willie's a big Chiefs fan too.
- 26:59I am.
- 27:00I I heard his ringtone at Vibe Fest about 700 times because
- 27:04Yes.
- 27:04I did too.
- 27:05Yeah.
- 27:06Not to serve on.
- 27:07Thank you.
- 27:08Hey.
- 27:10You know what?
- 27:11Job.
- 27:11Know who I stand for.
- 27:13Okay?
- 27:13Yeah.
- 27:14Okay.
- 27:14Well, alright.
- 27:15I think we're gonna we're gonna get into another song.
- 27:18Yeah.
- 27:18We're talk way to change the subject.
- 27:21Yeah.
- 27:21Well, otherwise, you guys are gonna sit here and suck off the Chiefs for the next freaking
- 27:25wherever.
- 27:26So
- 27:28Whatever.
- 27:29K
- 27:29c.
- 27:30K c.
- 27:31K c.
- 27:31Yeah.
- 27:32Oh, stop.
- 27:33Alright.
- 27:33So this is I'm I'm here to to to promote Asher and everything that he's got going on.
- 27:39So this next one, you can see it on the scroll.
- 27:41This is have faith in me.
- 27:42Asher, anything you can tell us about this song before we play it for the people?
- 27:47Have faith in me is a is fun song.
- 27:51An unlike black magic, we're all or, like, black magic or letting go while I was in a dark
- 27:55place.
- 27:57Have faith in me was I was having a good day, and I wanted to make something that was
- 28:01energetic and just, just fun.
- 28:05And that's where Half Faith came in.
- 28:06I was had a because I was in a good mood.
- 28:08It's like, hey.
- 28:08Yeah.
- 28:08Let's let's record something.
- 28:11Well, that's what I like.
- 28:12I like Asher in a good mood.
- 28:42Like it is poison to our skin.
- 28:46It tries to kill us, but this storm is nothing.
- 28:50It'll be okay.
- 28:53It'll be okay.
- 31:02That was so powerful still.
- 31:08I dig it, man.
- 31:10Thank you.
- 31:10I dig it.
- 31:12And same with the last one.
- 31:13Produced with some local guys and and put together right there in Russellville or around
- 31:19that area?
- 31:20Yep.
- 31:21So that's crazy, man.
- 31:23The the the sound, like, the instrumentation and everything is great.
- 31:27So are you playing the guitar?
- 31:28Did you kinda bring in the idea, and then there's somebody else playing guitar as well?
- 31:33Or
- 31:34So I tried playing guitar, and I had a friend who was better than me.
- 31:41I got a lot of those.
- 31:43Yeah.
- 31:44Yeah.
- 31:46And so, really, he was kind of just teaching me how to because, like, these songs are
- 31:51different.
- 31:51Right?
- 31:51So, like like, letting go is more, like, metal metal base with with with this song being more,
- 31:58like, pop punk.
- 31:59You know?
- 32:00And I like all these different drums in music because, I I mean, bands that I that I, like,
- 32:04inspire that inspire me are, like, different sounds.
- 32:07And I'm like, man, I wanna sound like that or that band's really cool.
- 32:10How how can I incorporate some that kind of sound on my music?
- 32:13You know?
- 32:14And I'm like, well, damn.
- 32:14I can't do it all by myself.
- 32:15You know?
- 32:16So you just gotta have people.
- 32:18And, eventually, some of the producers that I that I was talking to, like, hey, man.
- 32:22Like, I love this, like, pop punk sound, but, like, I just can't play that.
- 32:27Like, I can't play that fast, you know, on those tones.
- 32:31So, you know, I I showed them the idea and and the concept of what I wanted to sound like, and
- 32:37and they were like, oh, I I I can do that.
- 32:38Yeah.
- 32:39No problem.
- 32:40I'm like, oh, okay.
- 32:41Alright.
- 32:41Cool.
- 32:42So then that that's Yeah.
- 32:43You're like, okay.
- 32:44Cool.
- 32:45Sounds good.
- 32:45And then you get the tracks back, you're like, damn.
- 32:47That sounds pretty good.
- 32:48Yeah.
- 32:49Yeah.
- 32:51Here recently, though, I've been getting into drums, and drum drums is so much fun.
- 32:55I I love it.
- 32:57Yeah.
- 32:57I bet for someone with your energy, it's a good outlet for that, isn't it?
- 33:03Yeah.
- 33:03See, guitar I I play this decent guitar.
- 33:05I I play couple a couple songs.
- 33:08But it also aggravated me because I don't have to tune my guitar and, like, beat.
- 33:11You know?
- 33:11Oh my gosh.
- 33:12Like, I just it all gonna be aggravated when I would get, like, the wrong tone or something
- 33:15like that.
- 33:16So I just like, man, I just ugh.
- 33:19This part is so annoying.
- 33:20I'm like, what's because vocals have I've always been I've always been a vocalist.
- 33:23That's, like, that's, like, my strong suit.
- 33:25I was like, I need I need to find something else that I can, you know, do.
- 33:28You know?
- 33:28And I had this drum set.
- 33:32Like, oh, I got this drum set.
- 33:33Like, $200 drum set.
- 33:34I'm like, well, you know, I'm playing this.
- 33:36Y'all be going out, sort of playing.
- 33:37I'm like, I'm actually pretty good at this.
- 33:40My little sister, actually, she'd been playing it at or playing it, and I think she's better
- 33:44than me, dude.
- 33:45Like, she's so good at she's in band and stuff, and she's I'm like, dang.
- 33:49You're good.
- 33:50So I'm I'm like, I've got a little competition.
- 33:51You know?
- 33:52She she You're a
- 33:53team of band, little sister.
- 33:56Is she like, I'm like, dang.
- 33:58You're okay.
- 34:01Now and I was very fortunate.
- 34:03I got to meet your whole family when y'all came through and we played together in Little Rock.
- 34:10And shout out to Stickies over there.
- 34:12That was a
- 34:12cool Oh, yeah.
- 34:13Shout out to Stickies.
- 34:14That was awesome.
- 34:15Looking forward to getting back into Little Rock, and that's gonna be a tour stop next year
- 34:19for sure.
- 34:21Yeah.
- 34:21I need to get you in con I need to get you in contact with Dead Party.
- 34:27Dead Party is like a media company that, like, post about, like, all the they got catches,
- 34:33like, all the artists and stuff like that.
- 34:35Shout out to shout out to them, man.
- 34:36They're they're awesome.
- 34:37They're they're really how how I found out about the metal scene in Arkansas, like, in
- 34:40Little Rock and, you know, surrounding areas, was was from, dead from, dead party.
- 34:45So shout shout out to them, man.
- 34:47They're awesome.
- 34:48Awesome.
- 34:48Yeah.
- 34:49Well, I hope that, we get a chance to connect and come through, and, that's really that's
- 34:56really what this is about.
- 34:57Right?
- 34:57We know we can do it on our own.
- 34:59We know we're just starting out, but there's so many of us that feel like we're in the same
- 35:05we're in the same boat or the same points in our career.
- 35:07Maybe there's some of us that are, like, a little bit ahead of someone, but there's not a
- 35:11lot of bands out there.
- 35:12And especially because what happened to everyone during 2020 and everything just, like,
- 35:16got shut down as far as the music scene goes, that, like, everybody kinda lost their status
- 35:22and had to restart.
- 35:24Right?
- 35:24So it kind of leveled the playing field off to where bands that had made it but then couldn't
- 35:31do what they were doing anymore kinda quit or dissolve.
- 35:35And granted, some of them are coming back, and you're always gonna have that, like, upper
- 35:38echelon of artists that are you know, have Live Nation behind them, a Kevin Gates or a, you
- 35:43know, a Kid Rock Kid Rock has full own tour.
- 35:47Right?
- 35:48The Rock the Country Festival this year was was awesome.
- 35:52We got to cover that as the scene projects.
- 35:55That was a pretty cool pretty cool deal.
- 35:58But Yeah.
- 35:59There's a lot of us, and I would say most fans are in that, like, middle ground.
- 36:04Right?
- 36:04That's where we're at.
- 36:08That is where we're all swimming in.
- 36:10It is, you know, relative obscurity from everyone.
- 36:14Even if you may have a local fan base, most people nationwide or even regionally may not
- 36:21know who you are.
- 36:22I'm very blessed to be from a small town in a small state, right, at least population wise,
- 36:28and to have played or lived on kinda both ends of it that like, South Dakota is a huge state,
- 36:34but all the people are in, like, two areas.
- 36:38Right?
- 36:38Yeah.
- 36:39Fortunate to play in both of those bigger areas.
- 36:42Yeah.
- 36:43Where people kinda know me.
- 36:44It's not like Missouri where everything is two hours from everything else and people don't
- 36:50travel out outside of that very often and really commingle.
- 36:54Right?
- 36:54And I think that's why an event, and especially Casey.
- 36:58Casey's really good at bringing people together from all over the state.
- 37:01But events like, what Casey does, whether it's at Captain Jack's or some of her other events,
- 37:07is that she brings people from all over together in one place.
- 37:11And that's not always
- 37:11easy to do.
- 37:16Yeah.
- 37:16But definitely not easy.
- 37:19Well and you've been putting together some of your own shows now.
- 37:22Talk about some of the challenges maybe that you've been facing or things you've been
- 37:26learning just kinda booking your own shows for the last five, six months now.
- 37:32Man, it's it's it's definitely crazy.
- 37:37I I've noticed, look, like, local shows that, you know, bands or, you know, promoters will
- 37:43see, oh, this guy's popping.
- 37:45He's doing this and this and that.
- 37:46Let's try and get him for the, you know, get him for the the show lineup.
- 37:50It's really just about who you know, man.
- 37:52Like, I mean, who like, who you know and, you know, putting yourself out there.
- 37:56Like, I I've noticed the more that I post, the more that I talk about music and this, this,
- 38:00and that or, know, just keeping my fans up to date.
- 38:04People are gonna notice you.
- 38:05People are gonna take notice, and they're gonna be like, hey.
- 38:07Let's, know, book this guy.
- 38:08Or, like, right now, actually, this Saturday, I'm having a show in Atkins, and I've been
- 38:17working with city council here in here in Atkins, little bitty Atkins.
- 38:22You know?
- 38:22And I was like, hey.
- 38:23Like, you know, if my these two bigger towns around me, which is Russellville and Merlton,
- 38:27which is Russellville on this side of me and Merlton on this side of me, They have live
- 38:31music going all the time, and I was, you know, city council.
- 38:34They they called upon me to for some reason, they wanted me to be there.
- 38:37I was like, why me?
- 38:37You know?
- 38:39But they're like, hey.
- 38:40We want live music to to come to Atkins, and we know, like, you're you're local.
- 38:44And, I mean, everybody knows me.
- 38:45I mean, go to McDonald's or the local Sonic or something.
- 38:48You know?
- 38:48I'm like, oh, I know, Azure.
- 38:49You know?
- 38:50It it it's a crazy it's a crazy feeling, you know, going, like, Dodging or something and,
- 38:55you know, someone recognizing you.
- 38:56You know?
- 38:57That happens all the time.
- 38:58And the city council, they're like, hey.
- 39:00Like, we want live music, and we have, like, a little park pavilion in Atkins.
- 39:04And so this Saturday, I'm throwing the first rocking in the park event.
- 39:08And I have some local artists that are gonna be there.
- 39:11And if it goes good, hopefully, I can do that every month.
- 39:13And I, you know, possibly be the event coordinator for Atkins and just throw, you
- 39:17know, events.
- 39:18And, I mean, I I love my community.
- 39:20You know, it may be small town and stuff, but, mean, I I love the people here, and I love it.
- 39:25So I'm I'm glad I could be able to do this.
- 39:27Man, I'm so damn proud of you, kid.
- 39:31I love it.
- 39:32I love everything that you're doing.
- 39:33I I love that you're already turning around and supporting your community.
- 39:38I I know you performed at a at a memorial service recently, and you sang did you sing the
- 39:44anthem at that one?
- 39:47No.
- 39:48I was I I was going to, but they found someone else who is way better at seeing that fan.
- 39:56He I forget his name, man, but he he killed it.
- 39:58Was like, man, this guy's yeah.
- 40:00I'm I'm glad they they had that guy.
- 40:01No.
- 40:03I was a I was a speaker.
- 40:04I I was one of the speakers.
- 40:08That's amazing.
- 40:09I I love how your little town is embracing you and really kinda putting you out there and
- 40:15asking you to to help them.
- 40:18But that's because of things you said that they see you.
- 40:21They see you're out there, you know, and traveling out of state to perform.
- 40:24And for someone from Atkins, Arkansas, right, and your little town, for people in your local
- 40:30community to see that as like, oh, damn.
- 40:32Like, Asher's doing it.
- 40:34And while it may just be you going to another small town.
- 40:37Right?
- 40:38It doesn't matter.
- 40:39You're out there.
- 40:40You're going somewhere, and you're doing something.
- 40:42And that's really what people see and, you know, who are you to tell them any different?
- 40:47If they think you're a big rock star, then oh, yeah.
- 40:50Yeah.
- 40:51Exactly.
- 40:51Yeah.
- 40:52Yeah.
- 40:52Awesome.
- 40:53Thank you.
- 40:54Yeah.
- 40:56Yeah.
- 40:56It's it's it's pretty pretty couple credible, man.
- 40:59I wouldn't I've only been doing this for, you know, like, not very long at all.
- 41:06You know, it it's a crazy experience, you know, going you know, when I was in high school and
- 41:10stuff and recording music and, you know, there's people that are like, oh, man.
- 41:13This this is cool.
- 41:14Man, I was I went to school with bunch of, like, country people and stuff.
- 41:17You know?
- 41:17And they're like, man, like, who's this this Asher kid?
- 41:21Man, like, who's this kid?
- 41:22And I was like, man, I'm gonna make it.
- 41:23I don't know.
- 41:25You know?
- 41:26And and to see the growth and, like, where I've came from since then is crazy.
- 41:31I would have told you you're crazy if I if I told myself that, hey.
- 41:35You're gonna go on tour.
- 41:36You're gonna do all these cool things for your community and, be able to speak at events and
- 41:41just do cool stuff.
- 41:42I I would have told you you're crazy on a million years, but I'm I am proud to to to do
- 41:46that.
- 41:48Well and it's something that you're born to do, that's pretty obvious at this point.
- 41:54Yeah.
- 41:54And just to see the growth from Vibe Fest to Spoonstalk, buddy, you just you have a true
- 42:00talent, when it comes to
- 42:02Check out my new cashier.
- 42:04Working working the crowd, your music, just stick with it.
- 42:09You know?
- 42:09Keep being you.
- 42:10Oh, yeah.
- 42:13And it's only gonna get up from here.
- 42:14You know?
- 42:14I mean, I'm excited to be able to drop my my new stuff when I can and when it gets done.
- 42:21And just, I mean, grow as a artist.
- 42:23I mean, I I love it.
- 42:25Like, what you're saying earlier, Bubba, about, you know, this the the feeling you get when
- 42:29you're on stage.
- 42:30Right?
- 42:30That feeling is incredible, man.
- 42:32I mean, all that work that we that we go through as musicians, and it pays off in that
- 42:36moment.
- 42:37Like, I had a you know, it's crazy.
- 42:39I don't realize, like, how good I'm doing because I'm I'm I'm a person where I'm like I'm
- 42:44always telling myself I'm not doing enough or I'm beating myself up.
- 42:47I I oh, I didn't get this song released this month, or I I feel like I'm falling behind.
- 42:51But I kind of, like, take a step back, and I'm like, look at what I've done, you know, just in
- 42:55a short amount of time.
- 42:57Like, when I when I did that show in Conway, because these these local bands were at record
- 43:01recognizing me and like, oh, like, we need to get this guy records in.
- 43:05Well, shout out to them.
- 43:06Records is is awesome.
- 43:08I love that place.
- 43:10Yeah.
- 43:10And I performed at records, and, I mean, the crowd was singing every lyric.
- 43:16I mean, when I sing my song, what will it take, which is a unreleased song that that I've been
- 43:22singing or singing to see what people if if they like it, you know, if I should if I should
- 43:25release it now or what.
- 43:27And at that moment, man, I sang that song for, like, for the first time there, and the crowd
- 43:32was singing the lyrics to me.
- 43:34Like, I put the microphone out like that, and they were just singing the chorus.
- 43:38No.
- 43:38I even like, it's an unreleased song, man.
- 43:41And the crowd is jumping and yelling, man.
- 43:44Like, they they loved it.
- 43:45I was like, man.
- 43:46Like, I can't believe it.
- 43:48You know what I'm saying?
- 43:49I'm able to do this.
- 43:50And, like, this is a unreleased song.
- 43:52Like, all my songs, they were just singing back to me.
- 43:54I was like and I I never and at that point, I never did a show in Calmway or nothing like
- 43:58that.
- 43:58Like like, it was it it was incredible.
- 44:01You're like, how do you all even know this song?
- 44:03I just wrote it yesterday.
- 44:05Exactly.
- 44:05Exactly.
- 44:06Like, literally.
- 44:07I was like, you know what?
- 44:09I'm gonna give this song a a go.
- 44:10You know, I'll play it, see if the crowd likes it, they've messed with it.
- 44:14And they were singing it back to me.
- 44:15You like, I was like, oh, well, this is wow.
- 44:17Okay.
- 44:19You know?
- 44:21Unbelievable, man.
- 44:22Well, we're gonna get into your last track here.
- 44:25Black magic is one you referenced earlier, and you said that the new stuff is gonna be
- 44:31sounding a lot like this.
- 44:32So this is kinda why I wanted to, put
- 44:35this up.
- 44:35And, anything you can tell us about the song before we play it for everybody?
- 44:40So Black Magic was my first, like, heavy song where I wanted to go into heavier metal and
- 44:47didn't really necessarily know what I was doing.
- 44:50I knew that I was in a dark place, though, and I really wanted to get these fillings out, you
- 44:57know, and, you know, not on, like, a rapper hip hop beat.
- 45:01I just wanted something.
- 45:02Like, I wanted to be you know, you can relate to it, you know, put put this pain in, you
- 45:07know, in in the in the song.
- 45:09And that is black magic, man.
- 45:11It was a it was a dark place, but, I mean, I love that.
- 45:14I love it from that song.
- 45:15But that song, this this new song I I have is gonna be it's gonna be a lot like it, but just
- 45:20better and bigger and just more, like, in-depth and and more, you know, just deeper and better
- 45:26than than Black Magic.
- 45:28Awesome.
- 45:29Well, this is Blackmagic by Asher.
- 46:08Woe is me, and why do I get hurt?
- 46:13I see you walking.
- 46:15I see the pain behind your eyes.
- 46:21I know you you You're not alone.
- 47:21This darkness so cold.
- 47:25I feel like no matter where
- 47:43darkness die.
- 47:46Black magic has a hold on you, but the darkness
- 47:52raging from behind you and try
- 48:21It's so sick, Asher.
- 48:23I just I freaking love it, man.
- 48:27I love it.
- 48:28And I love that you're so early on your journey, and it's only gonna get better and
- 48:35better from here, and it's already so good.
- 48:39You're you're such a young man with so much of your career left in front of you.
- 48:46Do you ever think that maybe you'll get to a point where you want to kinda, like, go back
- 48:54and maybe remix and re you know what I mean?
- 48:57Redo some of these songs as you continue to become a better singer and vocalist and to kind
- 49:03of refresh some of the old tracks?
- 49:06I've I really never thought of that, but, I mean, that would be a really cool idea, though.
- 49:14Yeah.
- 49:14I never really thought I never really thought about that.
- 49:16But, I mean, later in my career, you know, like, black magic, I love that song.
- 49:20I mean, I would love to I I never really thought of that thought about that, honestly.
- 49:24But, yeah, that would be
- 49:25I just feel like you're a much more confident singer even now because of all the live
- 49:30experience that you've had that you would sing that differently in a studio setting now than
- 49:37even you did when you recorded it, which I know probably wasn't all that long ago anyway.
- 49:42But I feel like you would deliver it differently.
- 49:45I think you're right.
- 49:46I yeah.
- 49:47I just did it's one of those things where, like especially me, like, my older songs, I I can
- 49:54see the growth, but it's happening so fast.
- 49:57You know?
- 49:58But, yeah, that's a that's a really good idea.
- 50:00And I I think, yeah, I would definitely sing that song, probably different.
- 50:04You know?
- 50:05We are actually growing and growing and growing to get more experience, you know, for sure.
- 50:10Yeah.
- 50:11I would like to see you take one at that because you can hear, like, a little bit of
- 50:14hesitancy in your vocals.
- 50:16And, like, you you sound like you're singing in your closet and, like, you don't wanna wake
- 50:21someone up in the next room almost.
- 50:23Right?
- 50:24Like, where where it sounds a little timid, but you're also probably recording some of this
- 50:29stuff for the first time and with equipment that you're not comfortable working with.
- 50:33But
- 50:34I feel like all the experience that you've gained now, it would bring out more of the
- 50:39song.
- 50:40And you have all the tracks.
- 50:41Like, you've self produced most of this stuff, so you'd have the ability to go back and
- 50:46refresh and refine
- 50:48Oh, yeah.
- 50:48Even some of the stuff that you already have.
- 50:50And I think your fans would appreciate that too because it would show that growth.
- 50:54Like, you don't have to pull it down as it is now and redo it, but you could really say,
- 50:59like, remastered or or whatever kind of version and be like, hey.
- 51:03You know what?
- 51:04I, you know, that was cool what I did, but I love this song so much that I wanted to, I
- 51:10wanted to show you what it's turned into.
- 51:13And I think that of the ones that we've heard tonight that Blackmagic has that where it's
- 51:17like, man, I've heard you sing this live now, and you're there's no timidness in your voice
- 51:24anymore.
- 51:25Right?
- 51:26You're not the same you're not a kid that wrote a song in his bedroom anymore.
- 51:30You're an artist.
- 51:31You're a performer.
- 51:32Right?
- 51:33So, I'd love to see that coalesce.
- 51:35And I know you're working on a lot of new music, but maybe some of these reimagined,
- 51:40right, or just, you know, redone vocals can appear on this this collection, right, that
- 51:45you're talking about putting out now as an album or or, you know, whatever you wanna call
- 51:49it, EP, whatever.
- 51:50I don't even know what any of this stuff's called anymore.
- 51:52Who cares?
- 51:53But It's called music, Bubba.
- 51:56Yeah.
- 51:56Yeah.
- 51:57Into this collection of music that you're trying to put out, next that maybe these are
- 52:03some of the b sides that are like, here's some of the old songs, but it's not just the old
- 52:07songs.
- 52:08It's them with a little more polish maybe that you couldn't remember because of your lack of
- 52:13experience, you know, even six months ago.
- 52:15I've seen so much growth since I've met you, and that's that's only been six months.
- 52:19So Yeah.
- 52:22It's happened fast, man.
- 52:24Yeah.
- 52:25It it it is for sure.
- 52:27It's crazy.
- 52:29What was your first show?
- 52:30Like, your first performance?
- 52:33So my very first show I ever did, I was, like, yeah, I was, like, 16.
- 52:40And, these are songs I don't perform anymore, but they are on Spotify, and they're I don't
- 52:45think that they're very good, but they're very old.
- 52:48But the first song that I ever, performed was my song, the, set me free.
- 52:54Set me free, only up, and a couple, like, grab songs, vampire.
- 53:00No.
- 53:01Wait.
- 53:01No.
- 53:01Vampire was released later, but, like like, only up and set me free.
- 53:05They're on YouTube.
- 53:06They're on Spotify and stuff.
- 53:07You listen to them.
- 53:08I was my favorite song I ever did, though, was called forever and always.
- 53:12And I think this song is not that good, but I have a buddy of mine who loved this song.
- 53:16He said it's the best song I ever made.
- 53:18No.
- 53:19My first song I ever did.
- 53:20Like, I I don't I don't think it's that good, but, he he says it it it's amazing.
- 53:26But those songs are still up on Spotify forever and always.
- 53:28Set me free.
- 53:30Give me faith is one.
- 53:31Man, I know some of those songs in a long time, man.
- 53:34But the yeah.
- 53:34They're still up and running.
- 53:36But my first show was at this cafe in Atkins, turtle turtle make cafe.
- 53:41Shout out to him.
- 53:42He is awesome.
- 53:43They relocated to Little Rock and or at, like, a a mall.
- 53:48It's called Park Plaza Mall.
- 53:50They're they're awesome, man.
- 53:52Did my first show there in, like, 16.
- 53:54Had a crowd of about, like I was, like, like, 30 people.
- 53:59I did a lot
- 54:00of, like, promote town of Atkins.
- 54:02Yeah.
- 54:02I know.
- 54:03Like, the whole town was there, man.
- 54:04Like, pretty much.
- 54:09Yep.
- 54:09I didn't I didn't know how to hold a mic properly or, like, I was just, like, standing
- 54:13there like this, singing my song on stage, and they loved it.
- 54:16And looking back, there's still some clips clip it's on Facebook and stuff, I'm sure, of me,
- 54:22singing, singing my my first couple songs, ever.
- 54:27And, it it go check check those out.
- 54:30I'm actually after this, I'm gonna go check those out and see the growth.
- 54:33But, man, I'm sure you can, like, you can tell for sure.
- 54:36You know, that could possibly be like Bubba was talking earlier.
- 54:41You don't have to throw them songs out even though they're your first ones and you say
- 54:44they're not very good.
- 54:46That could be something now that you have all this growth that you've had, even in the little
- 54:51time that I've known you, that could be something you go back and you say, you know
- 54:55what?
- 54:56Let's take these songs that I don't find very good, and you can revamp them.
- 55:01You know?
- 55:02Yeah.
- 55:03Kind of reborn them and bring them to life a little bit.
- 55:05Yeah.
- 55:06That is very true.
- 55:06Yeah.
- 55:10Yeah.
- 55:10And don't, you know, don't take the old ones down.
- 55:13Right?
- 55:14Even if, you know, they might embarrass you a little bit as soon
- 55:17you Never.
- 55:18They're they're still up, and they're for everybody to see.
- 55:20That's
- 55:20the Yeah.
- 55:21Yeah.
- 55:21I love it.
- 55:22That's what I love about you, man.
- 55:23You're not afraid to let it hang and to just stand and deliver and to, to just be yourself
- 55:31and to unabashedly step out there and to to to be you.
- 55:39Right?
- 55:39And
- 55:40Yeah.
- 55:40You're only going to get better at doing that.
- 55:43I know it sounds kinda silly, but it's not easy to step on stage and to to deliver a
- 55:51performance.
- 55:52It's not easy.
- 55:53Definitely not.
- 55:53Not everyone does it.
- 55:55In the in in the beginning, a lot of people were like, are you sure you got this?
- 56:00Like, when I first started, man, I had my phone, and I'm pretty sure a Xbox or
- 56:06PlayStation, like, a gaming headset and my phone in my garage.
- 56:09And I told myself I was like, I'm gonna make this happen, and I can see where I wanna sound
- 56:16like, and I'm gonna make it I'm just making it happen.
- 56:21And the song that really it actually well, it's not at least one.
- 56:25What will it take when I do release that when it's fully fully done?
- 56:30This like, this song, what will it take is is getting to the point to, like, where I wanted
- 56:36to sound.
- 56:37Like, back, you like, you know, years ago, like, when I, like you know, I first started,
- 56:40like, two years ago, it was you know, I was like, I can see this sound that I that I wanna
- 56:46sound like, and then this song right now is like, oh my gosh.
- 56:49Like, I'm I'm starting to be like, this is what I was wanting.
- 56:51You know what I'm saying?
- 56:52Or something like it.
- 56:55So yeah.
- 56:58Is crazy.
- 56:59Stuff, man.
- 57:01It's been so fun to catch up with you over the course of this evening.
- 57:05It was really nice having you in our Midwest original music organization meetup earlier
- 57:10tonight to connect you with another young man in Blackie Chan, who Oh, yeah.
- 57:16Y'all are gonna be hearing more of here on Love Noise because I think he already signed up on
- 57:21the calendar to come and share some of his music.
- 57:24But to see some young people like you that are out there doing it that will not be deterred,
- 57:32we're we're here.
- 57:33I mean, the scene projects and and our organization, like, we function to help young
- 57:39people like you avoid some of the pitfalls, that that I have stepped in, and it took me
- 57:46years to get out of Yeah.
- 57:48And to help you along the way.
- 57:50That's that's why we have these organizations and these podcasts and and everything that we
- 57:56do, is for you guys.
- 57:58And in in a selfish way as well because I probably don't have enough time left in the
- 58:04hourglass for me to make my own career in that way, or the energy, to be perfectly honest.
- 58:10I've yawned my way through the last thirty five minutes of our show.
- 58:13He's like like what he's trying to say.
- 58:16I'm just an old man.
- 58:17I'm really struggling.
- 58:18I didn't get my energy drink in around 05:00 like I usually do on these Wednesdays.
- 58:23But I just I love you so much, Asher.
- 58:27It's been such a pleasure getting to know you, man.
- 58:29Thank you, man.
- 58:29Yeah.
- 58:29You too, man.
- 58:30I love it all.
- 58:32Dude, it's just been a blast, and I can't wait to together with you again here soon and to to
- 58:39continue to watch you grow and to have you back on, to have you on the scene projects.
- 58:43I don't think I've ever had you on for an
- 58:45interview on, like, podcast.
- 58:46I've even on the scene projects yet, man.
- 58:48No.
- 58:49So we gotta we gotta talk
- 58:50to that.
- 58:51I gotta get him on mine too.
- 58:52I mean, we There you go.
- 58:54Well, he's making his rounds now.
- 58:55We got him for love noise.
- 58:57We got to hear the music.
- 58:58We had people tuning in all night, so I know your fans have been loving this content.
- 59:03It it's it's really cool to watch you grow, and I know where you go from here is only straight
- 59:10up and past the moon and out of the solar system and way out there.
- 59:15Stars.
- 59:16Always shooting for You're well, you're going
- 59:18like that.
- 59:20Yeah.
- 59:20Well, you're
- 59:21trying to ride your coattails.
- 59:24Will weigh him down.
- 59:25I'm a big old guy.
- 59:26I will weigh him down.
- 59:27You, buddy, you shoot that you shoot like a star.
- 59:30I'll watch that star shoot.
- 59:32Okay?
- 59:33Alright.
- 59:34But, no, buddy.
- 59:36Just to see and I said this again, and I'll say it again and again and again.
- 59:42Just to see the growth and, you know, as someone that I'm not necessarily I'm in the
- 59:49industry, but I'm not in the industry.
- 59:51I know that don't make a whole lot of sense, but I don't produce the music.
- 59:54You know?
- 59:55But I help with the sound and seeing someone that you are the type of person that I like to
- 1:00:02run sound for because you get the crowd going.
- 1:00:08You get the anticipation of you get it where the crowd is loud, and I have to crank the
- 1:00:13sound a little louder so you can be heard over the crowd.
- 1:00:16Yeah.
- 1:00:17Yeah.
- 1:00:17You know?
- 1:00:18And, you know, I love running sound, I've seen all walks of life.
- 1:00:24And, you know, Bubba has said this in my very first interview on Soul Impact that when you
- 1:00:33come off that stage, you know, and you see it with you, when you come off that stage, people
- 1:00:38know your heart and know your story by the way you perform and the way you put your heart into
- 1:00:44your lyrics.
- 1:00:46You know people know your heart, and they say, I know Asher a little better.
- 1:00:52You know?
- 1:00:54So Yeah.
- 1:00:55Just keep doing that.
- 1:00:56Keep that passion in your music, And it it's gonna get hard at times because you're gonna
- 1:01:00feel like you're stuck.
- 1:01:02Yeah.
- 1:01:03That is definitely the biggest challenge is is feeling stuck.
- 1:01:05But, I mean, I I love the energy.
- 1:01:08I love music.
- 1:01:09I I'm I'm proud to and blessed to be able to, you know, be here with y'all tonight and share
- 1:01:15my story and just keep grinding.
- 1:01:17And there are times where, like, you know, you just feel stuck or, like, you're in a place.
- 1:01:23But, you know, we all as humans, like, we always get out of it.
- 1:01:26You know?
- 1:01:27I I just love it.
- 1:01:29I I love what I do, and I'm gonna you know, I can't like, this new stuff, man, it takes a lot
- 1:01:34of work, you know, to make better stuff than what you did, but I'm gonna keep my head up
- 1:01:39and, you know, I'm just excited for all of it.
- 1:01:42Means you can do.
- 1:01:45And that's all you can do, buddy, is you just gotta keep shooting.
- 1:01:48You know?
- 1:01:49And you may fail.
- 1:01:50There's gonna be points where you do fail at something, and I'm not gonna wish ill on you
- 1:01:56because it it's gonna happen to everybody.
- 1:01:57Yeah.
- 1:01:58Oh, yeah.
- 1:01:58It it's how you get back up from that failure.
- 1:02:01You know?
- 1:02:02The failure don't define you.
- 1:02:04No.
- 1:02:04It
- 1:02:04doesn't.
- 1:02:04You give up and you say, okay.
- 1:02:06I can't do this anymore.
- 1:02:08You know?
- 1:02:08And I being in the sound and the DJing and a sound guy as long as I have, I've seen a lot of
- 1:02:16people that they had a true gift, but over time, they just they let that fire fizzle out.
- 1:02:25And my biggest advice I could give you is remember your why.
- 1:02:30Yeah.
- 1:02:30Why are you doing what you're doing?
- 1:02:33You know?
- 1:02:33My why is I wanna be a better father for my daughter and provide for and show her that no
- 1:02:40matter how old you are I'm 35 years old, and I started a podcast.
- 1:02:45No matter how old you are, you're never too late to chase those dreams.
- 1:02:51Yeah.
- 1:02:52So when them times get hard, find that why and remember why you're doing what you're doing,
- 1:02:59and that's gonna motivate you when them times do get hard.
- 1:03:04Yeah.
- 1:03:06Yeah.
- 1:03:06Totally.
- 1:03:07And we're and we're here for you.
- 1:03:08And Elaine here is for you.
- 1:03:10And, like, we're all we're all rooting for you.
- 1:03:14Right?
- 1:03:14Like, we all wanna see you succeed to the utmost, and that's, that's why the SCENE
- 1:03:21projects exist.
- 1:03:22That's why the MOMO exists, and that's why I'm always making sure to invite you to all of
- 1:03:28these things.
- 1:03:29It's for those times, inevitably that you are low, that you're you're already used to hanging
- 1:03:36out with us, and your community can lift you up.
- 1:03:39Right?
- 1:03:39And it's not like we have to go find you or that you have to find us.
- 1:03:43It's that, no.
- 1:03:44We see you all the time, man.
- 1:03:45Like, we're gonna know when when life has been challenging for you because we see you all the

- 1:06:08And I was like, okay.
- 1:06:08I've gotta figure out who this is.
- 1:06:11Is this really a legit person?
- 1:06:12So the next thing I know, I go digging on his Facebook.
- 1:06:15And, thankfully, right at the top, he said has his name and then Asher.

- 1:07:57I'll go on here and make a public account, and it's blowing up.

- 1:08:15It's a good time.
- 1:08:16I have to have it muted because sometimes these people are going crazy in the middle of

- 1:08:20Yeah.
- 1:08:21Each other, and I don't I don't have the stamina for that.
