- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome back to Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists.
- 0:08Speaker 1: This week on the show, we talked to some of
- 0:10Speaker 1: your favorite fan fiction writers.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Fan Fiction the art of taking something that you are
- 0:17Speaker 2: a fan of and writing fiction about it. These are
- 0:20Speaker 2: made up fairy tales, poems, and stories all about the
- 0:25Speaker 2: ip that we love, and artists have been doing it
- 0:29Speaker 2: for years.
- 0:30Speaker 3: So open up your laptop, ship a couple characters and
- 0:34Speaker 3: let's listen in.
- 0:39Speaker 4: It's literally epic to be here with you guys today.
- 0:42Speaker 5: I completely agree. It's very it's giving awesome sauce.
- 0:46Speaker 6: Awesome sauce, like it's actually giving awesome sauce, and I
- 0:49Speaker 6: don't know what to do about it.
- 0:50Speaker 2: It's so amazing. It's like it's like it's like for me,
- 0:53Speaker 2: like I read all of your stories, yes, but like
- 0:56Speaker 2: seeing what you guys actually look like. I'm gonna write
- 1:00Speaker 2: some fan fiction about you, guys. Stop now that I
- 1:02Speaker 2: have your face on fans fans, I'm gonna write some
- 1:04Speaker 2: crazy stories about you guys.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes, it's so wonderful to be here amongst
- 1:10Speaker 3: people who see the thing and go, what if I
- 1:15Speaker 3: put my spin on the thing.
- 1:17Speaker 7: It's fantastic.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I don't even think it's fiction. I think it's the
- 1:20Speaker 2: untold stories.
- 1:21Speaker 5: Of a story. Yeah, deleted scenes.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Yes, it's like marbles what if? But like what if?
- 1:26Speaker 5: My mind, it's what if?
- 1:27Speaker 7: What if?
- 1:28Speaker 2: Me too?
- 1:28Speaker 3: That's my favorite me too, Rob Bella and Edward but
- 1:33Speaker 3: what if me?
- 1:34Speaker 7: Also? Yes, it's really.
- 1:36Speaker 6: I mean, people think that we're one thing, and we're
- 1:38Speaker 6: certainly that, but we're also many other things.
- 1:41Speaker 5: I exactly plenty of stories that would be s f
- 1:45Speaker 5: W so funny.
- 1:52Speaker 2: It's so funny. I love it. Should we like go
- 1:57Speaker 2: around and introduce ourselves, say our name and like what fanstiction.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I also would appreciate if we do names and usernames.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Was going to say, because it's so genius. Actually, do
- 2:09Speaker 2: you want to go first? Like yeah, I can feel
- 2:11Speaker 2: like yeah, totally.
- 2:12Speaker 5: So my usual name is Tinchilla six seven.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Yeah I didn't put the face to hell.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Hal to the freaking coin get out of here, freak.
- 2:27Speaker 5: You might know my my my yeah, avatar is kind
- 2:31Speaker 5: of a blurry picture of like fur. That's that's my
- 2:35Speaker 5: chinchilla buddy. Yes, yeah, so that's kind of how people
- 2:40Speaker 5: know me online. But my name is Melee Melee quad,
- 2:44Speaker 5: and I like to write kind of fan fiction about
- 2:49Speaker 5: old people that.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Is so fun. Old people fan.
- 2:51Speaker 5: Fake Yes, what if Harry Potter was old?
- 2:56Speaker 2: Kind of take all the I p and just age
- 2:57Speaker 2: them up.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Old yeah, but what if old?
- 3:00Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:00Speaker 4: I love your Temmy from Rugrats. It's my favorite.
- 3:02Speaker 5: Okay, really hard because the babies don't have a ton
- 3:06Speaker 5: of personality in the original series, so you really have
- 3:09Speaker 5: to go, what does it seem like you would be?
- 3:14Speaker 5: And I'm seeing a lot of work like where I'm going, Okay,
- 3:19Speaker 5: here's what he's like when he's five. That can tell
- 3:20Speaker 5: me what he's like when he's ten, That can tell
- 3:22Speaker 5: me what he's like when he's fifteen. And then I go,
- 3:24Speaker 5: I have to do it all the way up to
- 3:25Speaker 5: like eighty.
- 3:26Speaker 3: In some ways you're doing what you know, Like how
- 3:28Speaker 3: the police when a kid goes missing, they'll age them
- 3:31Speaker 3: up in pictures.
- 3:32Speaker 7: That's sort of what you have to do, but for
- 3:33Speaker 7: their personalities.
- 3:34Speaker 5: And I don't really get paid like the police do
- 3:37Speaker 5: to do that.
- 3:37Speaker 2: No, No, you don't get paid anywhere near to the police.
- 3:39Speaker 2: And screw that, and screw that.
- 3:42Speaker 5: Screw that.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I will say. Also, I just love how every single
- 3:45Speaker 2: piece about the old Rugrats you have a trigger warning
- 3:48Speaker 2: that says I did not use teen Rugrats at all. Yes,
- 3:52Speaker 2: teen records doesn't count. Rugrets all run up does not count,
- 3:55Speaker 2: does not play until it.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Because like that's the imagination has already been imagining.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Yeah right, that's basically fanfic of the Rugrats already.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I want to do fanfic that is not imaginated.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Egg Zach, are you okay?
- 4:09Speaker 3: Hey?
- 4:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I have a story coming out.
- 4:13Speaker 5: Oh my please Yeah, I don't want to. I can't.
- 4:16Speaker 5: I wouldn't be a writer if I prevented a story
- 4:18Speaker 5: from coming out.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Literally would be the worst.
- 4:20Speaker 4: Don't let it go, letting it go.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It's like a baby.
- 4:23Speaker 4: I'm letting it go that.
- 4:24Speaker 5: One, much like when a baby comes out and you go, I'm.
- 4:28Speaker 7: Let this go. That's what you shouldn't.
- 4:30Speaker 6: Yes, I guess I'll introduce myself since I kind of
- 4:33Speaker 6: announced myself with my cough announcement.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Sorry guys, new cough dropping cough drop. That's a double.
- 4:46Speaker 6: My name is Zoe Field Rabbinowitz, and you might know
- 4:52Speaker 6: me as a zuzzy buzzy forty eight.
- 4:58Speaker 7: Buzzy.
- 4:59Speaker 5: I I've heard it out loud, I've only read it.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Literally thought it was zuzy boozy.
- 5:06Speaker 6: I gotta say much better read than said. It makes
- 5:10Speaker 6: me when I say it out loud, but it's true.
- 5:12Speaker 6: I mean I am Zzy buzzy forty eight. So what
- 5:14Speaker 6: can I say? It's true? Can you say I write
- 5:17Speaker 6: two things I write? Of course, everyone knows me for
- 5:21Speaker 6: my Nicked Night fiction, a lot of my fan fiction,
- 5:25Speaker 6: all the best shows, Wings Seinfeld, everybody loves Raymond, Modern Family.
- 5:32Speaker 6: You know a new girl, I do all the Nicked
- 5:34Speaker 6: Night because that's on Naked Night.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Now right, you want to feel old new girls on
- 5:39Speaker 5: Nicked Night.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I want to.
- 5:43Speaker 7: My real life.
- 5:44Speaker 8: Face realizing that that's crazy. My face when my.
- 5:47Speaker 7: Face when I realized what's on Nicked Night.
- 5:50Speaker 2: That's so crazy.
- 5:51Speaker 4: And that's and that's what I'm going for.
- 5:52Speaker 6: That's why bread and Butter. I'm kind of like stuck
- 5:54Speaker 6: on that. Like people know me for that, which is fun.
- 5:56Speaker 6: But I'm I'm working on a new thing and I'm
- 5:58Speaker 6: really excited about it. It's mostly a lot of fan
- 6:02Speaker 6: fiction about getting shrunk really small and living in a
- 6:05Speaker 6: world where everything else is still big.
- 6:07Speaker 2: So a lot of people say that's a fetish, but
- 6:10Speaker 2: I don't think it is.
- 6:11Speaker 4: It's tiny tiny.
- 6:12Speaker 6: It's tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny, and then of course it's sexual,
- 6:15Speaker 6: but it's you know, you're having you know, intercourse under
- 6:18Speaker 6: a big grape and stuff like that.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Right, it's just like a different world under a grape.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Under a grape and you're being crushed.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Are you having intercourse with the grape?
- 6:26Speaker 4: No, you're having intercourse with John Goodman from Roseanne.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Is he is he regular size or is he also many?
- 6:34Speaker 3: He's many too, I think so it's worth just like
- 6:37Speaker 3: your big props is sort of it's a matter of perspective.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Everything stays the same. The sex is the same, but
- 6:46Speaker 3: the surrounding world.
- 6:47Speaker 5: Yeah, if you miss the intro paragraph saying you're inside
- 6:51Speaker 5: a bunch of grapes, you just think it's kind of
- 6:53Speaker 5: your run of them all sex sye. But yeah, nice
- 6:56Speaker 5: because it's encouraging people to read the whole time.
- 6:58Speaker 1: You're just like having sex, like in that room Lackma
- 7:00Speaker 1: with the Big Trip exactly.
- 7:02Speaker 4: I was inspired by Eugene O'Neil.
- 7:03Speaker 6: His stage directions are so specific and so intense, and
- 7:06Speaker 6: so I decided to kind of do what O'Neil.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Does really intense stage.
- 7:10Speaker 6: You could talk forever about Eugene O'Neill's very specific stage
- 7:13Speaker 6: directions could.
- 7:14Speaker 7: A long day without tonight.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Okay, absolutely, I can't believe I made that joke.
- 7:20Speaker 7: I know it's good.
- 7:22Speaker 2: It was really good.
- 7:24Speaker 1: What's up, guys. I'm Paul Dylan, and my user name
- 7:27Speaker 1: is when you wish upon a shooting Star.
- 7:32Speaker 2: It's so sad that it always gets cut off a
- 7:34Speaker 2: little bit dot dot. It just says when you wish
- 7:36Speaker 2: upon a shoot.
- 7:36Speaker 3: This whole time I thought you were when you wish
- 7:38Speaker 3: upon a.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Shooting, I thought I didn't know it was dot.
- 7:43Speaker 5: I was literally kind of waiting for like kind of
- 7:45Speaker 5: really scary fan.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Fiction out of you.
- 7:47Speaker 3: When I when I this is honestly such a relief.
- 7:50Speaker 3: When I got the call sheet of who is going
- 7:52Speaker 3: to be here today, I kind of went.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Sometimes sometimes people's computers, I think it's the mobile version
- 7:57Speaker 1: says when you wish on upon a shootings yeah, start.
- 8:01Speaker 5: And I thought you were kind of doing mass shooting fan.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Fast No, but I am doing. I am doing. I
- 8:06Speaker 1: do a lot of Disney princesses with guns.
- 8:09Speaker 4: I want to apologize.
- 8:10Speaker 6: I've been reporting you every day for a year. I've
- 8:13Speaker 6: been reporting you every day for a year.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Well, this is The most productive thing that could come
- 8:18Speaker 1: out of this interview is that I am just an artist. Wow,
- 8:21Speaker 1: I just like I like it. I like, I love Disney,
- 8:23Speaker 1: I just give it's kind of like a little bit
- 8:26Speaker 1: like Disney Combat.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Let's talk about it.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And I do I do sex stuff as well.
- 8:30Speaker 6: I love Tiana with Bazuka, Yeah, Bazuka and the girl
- 8:35Speaker 6: from Brave with a Ninja Star Yeah.
- 8:37Speaker 3: And Sleeping Beauty Asleep with a Bomb yeah.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and it's going off and it's about to
- 8:42Speaker 1: go off, but one kiss it's so wet and sloppy,
- 8:46Speaker 1: gets the bomb to turn off.
- 8:51Speaker 3: That kiss, I like it sent chills down my whole body.
- 8:56Speaker 3: I think about that kiss being so wet and precise
- 9:00Speaker 3: said that it diffused the code to Sleeping Beauty's bomb.
- 9:04Speaker 5: I had a boyfriend at the time when I was
- 9:06Speaker 5: reading that one, yeah, and I went, hint, we're gonna
- 9:11Speaker 5: getting bad.
- 9:12Speaker 4: What was the hint?
- 9:13Speaker 5: Read this kiss?
- 9:14Speaker 7: This is how I just kiss.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Oh, you want to be kissed.
- 9:17Speaker 7: I want to be kissed like that. It sounded nice.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:23Speaker 5: No, no, we're not together.
- 9:26Speaker 7: Yeah, but men take note. Take note anyway.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm grateful to be here and I'm fifteen, and
- 9:36Speaker 1: you're saying, yeah, we're not doing our ages.
- 9:40Speaker 7: I'm fifteen.
- 9:40Speaker 4: I was gonna drop my age at the end.
- 9:42Speaker 2: I don't like people to know my age when it
- 9:45Speaker 2: is actually something.
- 9:46Speaker 7: Yeah, this is good.
- 9:47Speaker 3: We said, this is something to be cautious of and
- 9:49Speaker 3: something to be aware of, because I'll say my age
- 9:51Speaker 3: at the beginning, I am forty eight. Yeah, and so
- 9:55Speaker 3: it's different, but we're talking about the same thing, which.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Is a writer's a writer. A pin doesn't have an age,
- 10:00Speaker 1: A writer is a writer. A pen is.
- 10:03Speaker 9: No pens. I need the ink in them.
- 10:13Speaker 2: These pens can't be old.
- 10:15Speaker 3: I need them to work. I neither to work, so
- 10:18Speaker 3: I can use them. Oh, don't make my panoc will.
- 10:22Speaker 2: A pen with a walker?
- 10:24Speaker 7: Oh well, let's use well.
- 10:30Speaker 3: My name is Margaret oh Mally. I am a fan
- 10:35Speaker 3: fiction writer and I have found myself in a very
- 10:39Speaker 3: specific community. We I write fan fiction about the women
- 10:44Speaker 3: in Deal or No Deal. Yes, and so it's a
- 10:48Speaker 3: lot of stuff with the number, stuff with the case,
- 10:51Speaker 3: stuff with guessing and how he comes in occasionally though
- 10:56Speaker 3: he's not the star of the show, if you know
- 10:58Speaker 3: what I mean. My user name is the Banker and
- 11:03Speaker 3: I have been writing fan fiction for about I'd say
- 11:07Speaker 3: as long as a deal or no deal has been
- 11:09Speaker 3: on the air. This when the pilot aired, it changed
- 11:13Speaker 3: something in me. Seeing all those women up there, sitting
- 11:18Speaker 3: there with their cases, there was so much there's so
- 11:22Speaker 3: every single woman is holding a question in her hands
- 11:25Speaker 3: and until we know the answer, well there's nothing but tension.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Can I can I just say, actually, I'm just the
- 11:31Speaker 2: biggest fan that story about seventeen running away with thirty
- 11:35Speaker 2: thinking they had five hundred thousand dollars in one of
- 11:37Speaker 2: their cases and that turned out to be one cent
- 11:39Speaker 2: and ten cents. It ruined me. Yeah, yeah, yeah, ruined
- 11:45Speaker 2: me as absolutely gruined.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Another one of yours that I love as a fifteen
- 11:48Speaker 1: year old boy is the story of the sixty nine case.
- 11:52Speaker 3: The sixteen the murders. Sixty nine was murdered in her
- 12:01Speaker 3: case by sixteen. It was thrilling, and you know, it
- 12:07Speaker 3: plays with a lot of there's a lot of intersection
- 12:10Speaker 3: in this in this community who likes to read this
- 12:13Speaker 3: stuff because there's there's stories of people who have financial
- 12:18Speaker 3: ruin yinks u they come to town, and the people
- 12:21Speaker 3: who are germophobes Howie's thing. They also come to town
- 12:24Speaker 3: because they know there's gonna be a little bit. I
- 12:26Speaker 3: like to add a little Easter egg for the Howie people.
- 12:28Speaker 3: The Howie people, I'm not are not my favorite.
- 12:31Speaker 7: Comment some of their why I'm there? No, no, no.
- 12:35Speaker 8: It's like why It's sometimes I'm like, is Howie hiring
- 12:39Speaker 8: those bogs?
- 12:40Speaker 3: Because they're always like it's it's story about seventeen and
- 12:43Speaker 3: thirty and and and they're they're trying to have a
- 12:46Speaker 3: three way with with with ten and then all of
- 12:48Speaker 3: a sudden, all the comments are like, okay, cool, but
- 12:51Speaker 3: is Howie there?
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yeah, what's going on? Bind those glasses? Yeah too.
- 12:54Speaker 6: It's also because because I because I sometimes dip into
- 12:56Speaker 6: Howe because they're the Bobby's World reruns that show up everywhere,
- 12:59Speaker 6: right yeah, And and I'll dip into how He and
- 13:02Speaker 6: and they always have these kinks where they want to
- 13:03Speaker 6: get him dirty, and I'm like, that's his whole thing.
- 13:05Speaker 4: He doesn't want to be dirty.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Last thing is how he wants to be dirty.
- 13:08Speaker 4: So y'all are like, don't do that.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Literally, Hi, everybody, my name is Ian Patrick Shower McGrath,
- 13:18Speaker 2: and uh, you probably know me most famously for my
- 13:22Speaker 2: Harry Potter. Yeah, I kind of go straight down your
- 13:25Speaker 2: name please. My hand user name is Harry Potter fanfic one.
- 13:29Speaker 5: I knew its people who aren't in the communita might
- 13:36Speaker 5: not know. But to snag that handle, it was to
- 13:39Speaker 5: only have one person that was ahead of you.
- 13:41Speaker 2: In mine, because Harry Potter fanfake was.
- 13:43Speaker 5: Taking only one one person was It's unbelievable.
- 13:47Speaker 7: And that guy was a hack.
- 13:49Speaker 2: He sold out derivative.
- 13:50Speaker 5: He was derivative Harry kisses ron.
- 13:53Speaker 2: You can we get it?
- 13:54Speaker 4: And now he's sold out like it's even sad. It's crazy.
- 13:57Speaker 6: He even used the username he just a sweet rereading
- 13:59Speaker 6: fan fic n it's gross Sweet Green.
- 14:01Speaker 5: He got sponsored by Sweet Green and know he only
- 14:04Speaker 5: promotes their heart.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Yeah, Harvest Bowl hooking up with the steak Caesars and.
- 14:10Speaker 5: Then mommy comes.
- 14:11Speaker 7: Then do they think what stupid? It feels like.
- 14:15Speaker 5: They think we're stupid because I would never even ship
- 14:18Speaker 5: those two bowls together.
- 14:19Speaker 2: No bols should not be together that way.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Fairmic about the coffee table, Yeah, you could stick your
- 14:29Speaker 1: whole ass in and it feels good.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I did like that story.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Old boy, there's just too many.
- 14:38Speaker 4: I am immediately red. That was a real.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Idea, the perfect it's the perfect coffee table.
- 14:46Speaker 7: I want a wall ad.
- 14:48Speaker 2: The question is what part of the coffee table you
- 14:50Speaker 2: stick your ass in?
- 14:53Speaker 5: Is there a hole in the They think we're stupid, we're.
- 14:59Speaker 7: Stupid, But also is working. It's working.
- 15:03Speaker 2: So yeah. So I've done a lot of Harry Potter
- 15:05Speaker 2: and like I do some of the sexual stuff, but
- 15:07Speaker 2: I also do some of like the heartbreaking tender other stories.
- 15:11Speaker 2: I like to think about the other stories you didn't
- 15:12Speaker 2: hear from Hogwarts. Yeah, yes, forgotten the forgotten stories. And
- 15:16Speaker 2: I've recently actually switched to I've been sampling out some
- 15:21Speaker 2: fanfic with the people that live in my building. Oh
- 15:24Speaker 2: oh oh, it's awesome for me. I found the readers
- 15:28Speaker 2: have a lot of questions like who is this person?
- 15:31Speaker 2: What are they? And so like a lot of it
- 15:33Speaker 2: is right now. I've realized parentheses are my best friend,
- 15:37Speaker 2: because I'll do Derek. He lives parentheses, he lives in
- 15:41Speaker 2: room three oh one, he's got a dog, he's got
- 15:43Speaker 2: a cat, his wife just left him, and so like
- 15:46Speaker 2: that will just paint the picture for my person. And
- 15:48Speaker 2: people are saying, this is not fanfic, this is thick.
- 15:51Speaker 2: I love that.
- 15:52Speaker 4: I think it's amazing the way people use parentheses.
- 15:56Speaker 6: How do you guys use them? I use them to
- 15:57Speaker 6: disclose the secret that nobody else in the room knows.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I love that you can give us a reading.
- 16:02Speaker 6: Yeah, so it's like George Costanza parentheses wearing women's underwear
- 16:08Speaker 6: into the restaurant, and.
- 16:11Speaker 5: So that's really bad.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I only do parentheses for if someone's winking.
- 16:17Speaker 2: What do you mean parentheses? Winking?
- 16:19Speaker 1: Yeah, like snow white parentheses. She winked.
- 16:24Speaker 7: Do you believable?
- 16:30Speaker 2: She waked, She wakes.
- 16:32Speaker 5: It's almost like I'm at a coffee table nearby and
- 16:35Speaker 5: I going to my friend.
- 16:37Speaker 7: She winked, She winked. It's a little secret.
- 16:42Speaker 4: She winked, she winked.
- 16:45Speaker 2: What situation to your fan?
- 16:46Speaker 8: Is sleeping beauty sometimes when they're about to like going
- 16:51Speaker 8: in the bunker because there's missiles flying everywhere, and she's like.
- 16:56Speaker 7: It is it sleep?
- 16:59Speaker 5: Because she's just the one that's sleeping. It is it?
- 17:02Speaker 5: Like why that also was sleeping?
- 17:07Speaker 7: She was also eating.
- 17:08Speaker 1: She's eating an apple.
- 17:09Speaker 5: She's mostly eating for the story, yes, but there is
- 17:12Speaker 5: a part where she's sleeping, but most of it she's eating.
- 17:14Speaker 8: I have a fanfic where she's eating an apple with
- 17:16Speaker 8: one hand and the other hand loading a cannon, right,
- 17:19Speaker 8: And I.
- 17:19Speaker 5: Love to use the dwarves as like part of the militia. Militia.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 7: Yes, parentheses are tough for me because I.
- 17:31Speaker 5: Can imagine just trying.
- 17:33Speaker 3: To look like math, because I'll use the parentheses to
- 17:36Speaker 3: say what's in their case, but then their name is
- 17:39Speaker 3: the number of the case.
- 17:40Speaker 7: It looks like parentheses looks like.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Jokes.
- 17:45Speaker 7: The hair of seventeen fifty thousand dollars.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Yes, you know what's funny.
- 17:49Speaker 6: I sometimes I look at the comments of yours and
- 17:52Speaker 6: they go, I solved it.
- 17:54Speaker 4: And you're like, oh, this wasn't a math problem.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Co peticians are all in your comments.
- 17:59Speaker 5: They already hate to see your fanly coming.
- 18:03Speaker 7: Focus.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Mathematicians hate her sending me numbers and I and it
- 18:09Speaker 3: drives them mad. And it drives them crazy because I
- 18:12Speaker 3: don't have the answer to the question, because this is
- 18:14Speaker 3: math I can't do.
- 18:15Speaker 2: But you also do a fun thing where you're always
- 18:18Speaker 2: asking what the audience, what do you think the banker
- 18:20Speaker 2: is going to offer them? And so they are kind
- 18:22Speaker 2: of doing math because you are going like, oh X
- 18:25Speaker 2: has this much, this is what's left. You kind of
- 18:27Speaker 2: have to figure it's like such a fun well I
- 18:30Speaker 2: feel like.
- 18:30Speaker 1: I read about you in an article. It was when
- 18:33Speaker 1: it was coming out that Megan Markle used to be
- 18:35Speaker 1: a dealer no Deal person, and then they were referring
- 18:38Speaker 1: to you because you happen to be a Dealer no
- 18:40Speaker 1: Deal of the phanfic writer and it was like a
- 18:42Speaker 1: picture of you looking like like and it said like
- 18:44Speaker 1: mathematicians hate to see her coming.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Yes, yes, they hate to see me coming. And they
- 18:49Speaker 3: hate to see me coming, if you know what I mean.
- 18:51Speaker 2: That's what I.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Come weird.
- 18:55Speaker 7: But uh, it's it's it's really the numbers.
- 18:59Speaker 3: People are so so into it and they they they
- 19:04Speaker 3: need something that I can't give them. Sometimes they'll come
- 19:07Speaker 3: to my house and they'll because.
- 19:08Speaker 7: They want to know the answer.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:10Speaker 3: For them, sex is about knowing the answer. And for me,
- 19:14Speaker 3: what is hot about dealer no Deal is the not knowing.
- 19:18Speaker 5: Okay, Margaret, I completely relate to this because for my
- 19:20Speaker 5: parenthetical use, I use it for ages. I go, I go,
- 19:25Speaker 5: you know what?
- 19:27Speaker 2: Right?
- 19:28Speaker 5: You know? What's an example Tommy Pickles seventy.
- 19:31Speaker 7: Eight, Yes, you know, And occasionally.
- 19:34Speaker 5: As I'm writing, if the story is long, enough, his
- 19:36Speaker 5: birthday would have passed, so it'll change seventy nine. But
- 19:39Speaker 5: if his birthday wasn't important to them this year, I'm
- 19:41Speaker 5: not going to write a chapter just about his birthday
- 19:42Speaker 5: because it happened. But people, then I get in the
- 19:44Speaker 5: comments going when is Tommy Pickles's birthday? I'm like, I'm
- 19:47Speaker 5: not gonna that's private.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Yeah, they're trading apart your.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Comments, your paragraph structure, trying to dissect when exactly his
- 19:56Speaker 3: birthday was.
- 19:56Speaker 7: And that's all what this is about.
- 19:57Speaker 5: That's not what it's about. It's about him and Angelica
- 20:02Speaker 5: going to a pond and accidentally killing a duck.
- 20:05Speaker 6: People don't realize this, but asking someone's birthday is a
- 20:09Speaker 6: hippo violation.
- 20:10Speaker 4: If we all remember, we were.
- 20:11Speaker 7: Born medical information, we're.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Born in a medical procedure.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Medical that nowaday and that's but that's a hippo violation.
- 20:20Speaker 2: On my mom.
- 20:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm going, you.
- 20:24Speaker 5: Should not know your own birthday if we're really being technical,
- 20:27Speaker 5: because that's.
- 20:28Speaker 7: That's my mother's information.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Do I tell you the day I had all of
- 20:33Speaker 5: my surgeries?
- 20:34Speaker 2: No?
- 20:34Speaker 7: No, never thought of it that way.
- 20:37Speaker 5: That is why you're amazing, That is why, that is
- 20:39Speaker 5: why that's that's amazing.
- 20:41Speaker 1: That's is why, that's why you're amazing.
- 20:43Speaker 4: I want to just mention to it.
- 20:44Speaker 6: Just what I love about your parentheses is how load
- 20:47Speaker 6: bearing they are from the story later it changes everything.
- 20:49Speaker 4: You have the most load bearing parentheses, because some.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Of your stories would appear that because not everything happens
- 20:56Speaker 3: at a nursing home. Sometimes you know they're going to
- 20:58Speaker 3: McDonald's or whatever, and so it just appears that it's
- 21:01Speaker 3: a normal story with the normal ages of Cayu. But
- 21:03Speaker 3: only when you see the Kayu is ninety do you realize, No,
- 21:07Speaker 3: he changes doing different changes.
- 21:09Speaker 5: If he's at a playground and you think, well, that's
- 21:11Speaker 5: just regular Kyu at a playground, I'm not interested. But
- 21:14Speaker 5: then I have to be like, he's ninety seven and
- 21:17Speaker 5: it's unusual that he's at playground.
- 21:19Speaker 7: Off something's all.
- 21:20Speaker 1: The piece about Gypsy Rose Blanchard, Yeah, replacement.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Yeah, just and I'm fifteen. I was I was so
- 21:27Speaker 2: fun that you wrote fanfic about Gypsy Reslan Listen.
- 21:30Speaker 5: Okay. If I'm a fan of anything, I'm a fan
- 21:33Speaker 5: of getting what's yours? Okay, Yeah, I'm a fan of
- 21:37Speaker 5: girl queens.
- 21:39Speaker 7: Bosses me to you. I love girls with guns.
- 21:43Speaker 6: Can I just say you're actually notorious because you had
- 21:46Speaker 6: one of the wildest ships that anyone's ever seen, because
- 21:49Speaker 6: you have this thing about the character's nursing home, where
- 21:51Speaker 6: you have this series that I come back to every
- 21:53Speaker 6: now and then, where you all the greatest characters we've
- 21:55Speaker 6: all ever known end up in the same nursing home,
- 21:57Speaker 6: neglected by their kids, so they end up kind of
- 22:00Speaker 6: meeting and having romantic affairs.
- 22:02Speaker 4: And you had a really controversial ship.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:05Speaker 5: So I took Arthur Reid from the Arthur series aged up, yes,
- 22:10Speaker 5: eighty two.
- 22:12Speaker 6: Uh year, that's hot.
- 22:15Speaker 5: Yeah cool, nice, nice grew out And I don't know why,
- 22:21Speaker 5: but people don't think that Poe from Teletubbies can kind
- 22:27Speaker 5: of age. So they found it disgusting. They're like, he's
- 22:29Speaker 5: dating a child. I'm like, first of all, Teletubbies are
- 22:32Speaker 5: not children. They're little monsters.
- 22:35Speaker 1: They're monsters.
- 22:36Speaker 5: They're literally monsters.
- 22:37Speaker 1: And monsters have no age. Also, that's a hip hop violation.
- 22:42Speaker 5: So I had Arthur and Poe. They met in their
- 22:45Speaker 5: retirement community. They were playing Canasta. Poe wins. Obviously, Arthur
- 22:50Speaker 5: starts crying because none of his kids visit him. Anymore
- 22:53Speaker 5: because he was emotionally abusive. So he goes to his room.
- 22:57Speaker 5: Obviously obviously obviously he goes to his room. He calls
- 23:01Speaker 5: e W doesn't call him back, and Poe comes and
- 23:04Speaker 5: knocks on the door, and it's like a real man
- 23:07Speaker 5: wouldn't care if a beautiful woman beat him in Canasta,
- 23:11Speaker 5: woman impose a woman. People didn't like that either. The
- 23:15Speaker 5: gender police came at my door. They said, Poe is
- 23:19Speaker 5: not a woman. Those police, I said, is literally a monster,
- 23:27Speaker 5: is a monster monster, Poe is a mon, literally a monster.
- 23:33Speaker 5: And so then Arthur starts having a heart attack and
- 23:36Speaker 5: Poe used to be a nurse, so I have Poe
- 23:40Speaker 5: resuscitate him back to life. People people were like, that's
- 23:44Speaker 5: like a baby giving a kiss to an artwork. And
- 23:46Speaker 5: I was like, no, it's not okay.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Mouth to mouth sounds like a procedure.
- 23:50Speaker 5: It's literally.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Mouth to mouth.
- 23:53Speaker 3: There's a hip violatory in theory.
- 23:57Speaker 5: I shouldn't even be telling people about this story because
- 24:00Speaker 5: it's all a hip of violation to these two characters.
- 24:04Speaker 5: But I did it anyway. But that's fan fi and
- 24:07Speaker 5: that's fan thic. Also, Poe is literally ninety. It was
- 24:10Speaker 5: supposed to be a story about an age gap. An
- 24:13Speaker 5: eighty seven year old man dating a nine year old
- 24:15Speaker 5: woman is literally controversial, So I get it.
- 24:19Speaker 3: I'm sorry people, I'm so sick of the angry comments
- 24:23Speaker 3: because you come to the fucked up story about a
- 24:26Speaker 3: pre existing story store and you don't want to hear
- 24:29Speaker 3: a fucked up story literally and exactly.
- 24:31Speaker 7: Oh you want to draw the line here, This.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Is where you're gonna call me out.
- 24:35Speaker 3: What You're gonna call me out for being weird about
- 24:38Speaker 3: a story that doln't exists.
- 24:39Speaker 7: Yeah, welcome new store, story store. Okay, why did you
- 24:44Speaker 7: come here if you don't want to littery?
- 24:45Speaker 8: You want sex that feels weird because it's monsters, aile tude.
- 24:49Speaker 5: Yeah, you don't want Poe to have an abortion?
- 24:51Speaker 7: Read a book. Read a book, Read a book that
- 24:54Speaker 7: in a regular book.
- 24:55Speaker 8: You're just going to Barnes and Noble, the non fucked
- 24:58Speaker 8: up story story right there.
- 24:59Speaker 5: Yeah, by a freaking Time magazine.
- 25:02Speaker 2: I had New York Times crossword puzzle. Literally, Yeah, these aren't.
- 25:07Speaker 6: Cannon, but you know what they call those things cannon
- 25:09Speaker 6: because they blow, they blow.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Speaking of that, Yeah, you think it's fucked up that
- 25:18Speaker 1: I wrote a story where Stitch kills himself with a cannon.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Didn't it was? It was murder suicide?
- 25:25Speaker 5: Yeah, and I honestly they go to the normal story
- 25:28Speaker 5: to do it.
- 25:29Speaker 2: It was right to do it.
- 25:30Speaker 6: I will say that was very graphic, putting his head
- 25:32Speaker 6: next and then loading the cannon.
- 25:34Speaker 3: I can't write whatever I want now, knowing that you're fifteen,
- 25:37Speaker 3: those that the level of chilence you were capable of
- 25:40Speaker 3: imagining was beyond anything.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Well, aren't you happy I'm writing instead of doing it?
- 25:45Speaker 2: That's yes? Oh my god, everything's going together in a
- 25:52Speaker 2: very sick way. Over here.
- 25:53Speaker 7: Is actually your idea about I'm taking a second more
- 26:00Speaker 7: than you are? You shooting or.
- 26:08Speaker 2: No?
- 26:08Speaker 7: There's very inconvenient, but it all adds up.
- 26:10Speaker 4: There's five spaces between shooting and star. I looked it up.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Why do you want my second account?
- 26:16Speaker 3: No?
- 26:16Speaker 4: Best, I don't know.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Do you guys have multiple accounts?
- 26:19Speaker 2: I have multiple?
- 26:20Speaker 5: I have a like a what do you call it?
- 26:22Speaker 5: A fan?
- 26:23Speaker 2: Fake fake Instagram or a fake fan account?
- 26:33Speaker 7: Fan fake fake fan?
- 26:37Speaker 5: I do not when I want to peruve people's accounts,
- 26:39Speaker 5: and you know, don't I don't want to be tracked.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, this reminds me of one of the
- 26:44Speaker 2: stories I wrote it, Yes, where Hermione has a brother.
- 26:50Speaker 7: Would you read something? Can we have?
- 26:54Speaker 5: I'm getting too tempted.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Okay, here you go. This one's called Hermone.
- 27:01Speaker 7: Her Moone.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 27:09Speaker 4: So there I was.
- 27:12Speaker 10: So I love a story that starts so also once
- 27:16Speaker 10: upon a time of the fan picture so calm and
- 27:21Speaker 10: in addition to.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Therefore open it up. So there I was. My My
- 27:37Speaker 2: older sister, Hermione had been crushing it at Hogwarts already
- 27:41Speaker 2: me her Moon was struggling to fit in. I was
- 27:45Speaker 2: a Hufflepuff, unlike my older sister, who was a Gryffindor.
- 27:48Speaker 2: She was the best of both worlds for our Muggle parents.
- 27:53Speaker 2: But I was different. I loved improv and so I
- 27:58Speaker 2: joined an improv. So what I did was joined Hufflepuff improv.
- 28:02Speaker 2: And there was really interesting stuff going on because I
- 28:05Speaker 2: met a person named Cedric Diggery.
- 28:09Speaker 5: Oh oh my god, I don't even think he goes
- 28:13Speaker 5: to their school.
- 28:15Speaker 2: He does, he does, Okay, he was a Hufflepuffy to
- 28:21Speaker 2: be hate to be hate to be a commentary way. Wait, actually,
- 28:26Speaker 2: cedriay definitely did go to Hogwarts. What were you guys?
- 28:28Speaker 4: He was the Hogwarts guy, I stopped screaming at him.
- 28:32Speaker 5: I'm literally sorry, but he sorry, that's my electric gracer.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Anyway, so Cedric Diggory and his younger sister Cedrica were
- 28:43Speaker 2: both going and they both loved improv, and so what
- 28:48Speaker 2: happened was, actually we were in a scene together and
- 28:52Speaker 2: I was playing a dentist and Cedric and Sika walked
- 28:55Speaker 2: on and they said, what are you doing. You shouldn't
- 28:59Speaker 2: be doing dentist tree, you should be kissing me. And
- 29:03Speaker 2: I said what And I thought I.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Was numb jock umjo.
- 29:07Speaker 2: So the next day job So the next day, so
- 29:10Speaker 2: we jump to the next day.
- 29:11Speaker 6: So the next day there was a big moment and.
- 29:14Speaker 2: You're my choices. So anyway, so the next day I'm
- 29:20Speaker 2: watching chapter two.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Anyway, this is chapter two.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Sorry, this is chapter two, chapter two. So anyway, the
- 29:27Speaker 2: next day I'm walking through the halls of Hogwarts and
- 29:30Speaker 2: my this guy named Brian who lives in three oh
- 29:34Speaker 2: one shows up and I'm like, Brian, what are you
- 29:36Speaker 2: doing here? And he says, I've got to go to
- 29:38Speaker 2: Potions chapter three. Anyway, So the next.
- 29:45Speaker 7: Anyway, it happened two.
- 29:49Speaker 2: So anyway, the next is this edging Yes, edging. So
- 29:52Speaker 2: you've got a billy.
- 29:53Speaker 3: Terry Potter said, as a cover to sneak in your edging.
- 29:58Speaker 4: Taking me to it and edging. I'm not gonna to
- 30:00Speaker 4: be happy.
- 30:01Speaker 7: Face stuck.
- 30:03Speaker 2: I can keep reading if you guys, but there's you
- 30:06Speaker 2: love doing live memes. I just hate to see you.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Oh if there's one hundred chapters, okay, so skip ahead
- 30:21Speaker 2: then geeeez. Okay, I'll skip ahead to chapter one.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Imagine you're on that website and it says most viewed section.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Okay, okay, I'll.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Highlighted.
- 30:31Speaker 2: This is the line that everybody highlights. I her moone,
- 30:36Speaker 2: heard her moone, unlike any moan I've ever heard. Ranita
- 30:42Speaker 2: Ron's younger sister, not there's another, there's another.
- 30:52Speaker 8: Jimmy Jinny Jenny, Jenny's younger brother.
- 30:56Speaker 5: Is jin exactly?
- 30:59Speaker 2: Are you righting my fit? Sorry? I got a clear
- 31:03Speaker 2: Ranita was filming and she said, gee, willakers now, this
- 31:07Speaker 2: could never happen on Hogwarts.
- 31:09Speaker 4: She had a video camera.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Yeah, they got a Muggle video camera. It was part
- 31:14Speaker 2: of steaking into Snape's office and not trying to touch
- 31:19Speaker 2: each other while stealing a Muggle thing. So anyway, Ranita says,
- 31:23Speaker 2: this is wow, this can never happen on Hogwarts, and
- 31:27Speaker 2: I her moone says, I guess, I guess, I guess
- 31:33Speaker 2: this stranger is up to no good.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Awesome, it was for the audio listener's hiding.
- 31:45Speaker 7: He's hiding, he's going so deep into his sweater. I like, can't.
- 31:53Speaker 5: Really your mission statement of creating stories about the characters
- 31:57Speaker 5: you never see. You know, these are not people that
- 32:00Speaker 5: exist in the cannon. You're creating whole new like webs
- 32:04Speaker 5: in worlds. When you had Hagrid's cousin.
- 32:08Speaker 2: I loved cousin.
- 32:23Speaker 7: Anyway.
- 32:26Speaker 2: So yeah, thank you guys for being big fans.
- 32:29Speaker 4: I really want to hear some more story.
- 32:34Speaker 7: Margaret, do you have dealer?
- 32:35Speaker 5: No deal?
- 32:38Speaker 7: Happy?
- 32:42Speaker 2: Please to go again?
- 32:49Speaker 3: Okay, I'm going to This is a story that actually
- 32:55Speaker 3: got a little bit of buzz in the well. I
- 32:59Speaker 3: won't spoil it, Margaret, Well, I won't spoil the community.
- 33:07Speaker 3: That's a community is obsessed with spoilers. Okay, your voice,
- 33:15Speaker 3: I read different when I when I see the page
- 33:19Speaker 3: in front of me. It kind of makes me feel
- 33:21Speaker 3: a little different than my talking voice. That I'm getting
- 33:24Speaker 3: to feel a little shy. Yeah, case number forty voice
- 33:32Speaker 3: third voice.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Narrator.
- 33:37Speaker 3: Case number forty parentheses thirty thousand dollars stairs upward and
- 33:43Speaker 3: three to the left at case number sixteen ten cents.
- 33:51Speaker 5: Mathematicians are sixteen is smaller than case forty, which.
- 33:57Speaker 3: But case sixteen is forty five grease south of case
- 34:01Speaker 3: fourteen twenty dollars. The banker hesitates, is he ready? Should
- 34:11Speaker 3: he make the deal or should he crawl back into
- 34:15Speaker 3: bed with his wife? No, let me look again. Case
- 34:19Speaker 3: thirteen is standing there twenty thousand dollars next to case
- 34:23Speaker 3: seventeen fifteen thousand dollars. If they switched places, What would happen?
- 34:30Speaker 3: What would happen? What would happen if they opened the case?
- 34:34Speaker 3: What would happen if they opened the case? Reveal your case?
- 34:38Speaker 3: Fifteen parentheses forty nine hoy nine dollars. I can't replied,
- 34:45Speaker 3: Case fifteen forty nine dollars. How he enters the space? Okay, girls,
- 34:54Speaker 3: it's time to choose fourteen seventy thousand dollars.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Sixteen it's just one for a while.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Eighty thousand dollars.
- 35:03Speaker 4: You're reading a receipt.
- 35:05Speaker 7: Yeah, that's the longest CBS or seed I've ever seen.
- 35:09Speaker 2: May you come again?
- 35:11Speaker 3: So I asked the famed question, don't shake my hand,
- 35:14Speaker 3: don't shake my hand?
- 35:15Speaker 7: Deal or no deal?
- 35:19Speaker 2: Great?
- 35:21Speaker 8: Is that?
- 35:21Speaker 2: It is that it?
- 35:23Speaker 3: Case number ten stands her case unfolds fifteen dollars. Case
- 35:31Speaker 3: number eighteen stands her case unfolds fifteen thousand dollars. What
- 35:35Speaker 3: if we pullue this popsicle stand? They hook up for hours,
- 35:40Speaker 3: they hook up for.
- 35:43Speaker 2: It was a math problem. I see what they're saying.
- 35:45Speaker 5: Okay, I just want to comm about you, Margaret, because
- 35:47Speaker 5: I feel like a lot of fan fiction writers out
- 35:50Speaker 5: there who are maybe new to the game might focus
- 35:52Speaker 5: a lot on the hooking up for hours and describing
- 35:56Speaker 5: that wing.
- 35:58Speaker 7: I don't really get that section.
- 36:00Speaker 5: It's not about you do that for the fans know
- 36:03Speaker 5: what it's about. It's about where the boxes are in
- 36:06Speaker 5: relation to each other.
- 36:08Speaker 2: As I love the book, there's really only one way
- 36:10Speaker 2: to hook up.
- 36:11Speaker 7: I love what was there to say?
- 36:13Speaker 2: There was no clear protagonists, no clear into It felt
- 36:16Speaker 2: like everybody had a moment of being the protagonist. And
- 36:19Speaker 2: you thought I was going to follow this box. Oh, no,
- 36:21Speaker 2: I'm going to follow this box. No I'm going to
- 36:23Speaker 2: follow the banker. No I'm going to follow how No
- 36:25Speaker 2: I end up following.
- 36:26Speaker 7: They just hooked up for hours.
- 36:27Speaker 4: That's amazing thing. I really love that it's about two
- 36:29Speaker 4: thirds of the way and it switched to first person
- 36:32Speaker 4: and I don't even know who this is.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Yeah, there's somebody else in the room.
- 36:36Speaker 5: Scary. I like that it made excited my heart was.
- 36:41Speaker 7: Someone else was in the room.
- 36:42Speaker 2: And their parentheses was forty nine, which is not which
- 36:46Speaker 2: is not up price, what's not an amount for anyway.
- 36:49Speaker 2: I really loved it because can I tell.
- 36:51Speaker 7: You what gets me? Parentheses wet?
- 36:52Speaker 3: Parentheses wet is not knowing what's going on because authors
- 36:58Speaker 3: are are bound by certain narrative conventions of we have
- 37:01Speaker 3: to follow the protagonists, and the protagonist encounters an obstacle,
- 37:03Speaker 3: and overcoming the obstacle will lead him to more goals
- 37:06Speaker 3: and more goals and more goals and and and all
- 37:08Speaker 3: is lost and then all is game.
- 37:09Speaker 2: I can I think we can all agree. I've never
- 37:12Speaker 2: edited a single word I've ever written. No reading is exhausting.
- 37:17Speaker 5: I do the I do the post note method where
- 37:20Speaker 5: I just cover my screen as I'm typing with post notes.
- 37:24Speaker 2: I don't know what it's not planning ahead with post
- 37:26Speaker 2: not covering your screen.
- 37:28Speaker 5: Yeah, the post, no method, I cover my whole.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Please read us, please please.
- 37:32Speaker 5: Okay, please, okay. We kind of talked a little about Tommy,
- 37:36Speaker 5: so I'll read my Tommy fan.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Love Love Love.
- 37:42Speaker 5: Tommy Pickles seventy nine approaches the Pristine Lake, the sun
- 37:48Speaker 5: reflecting off its gentle waves. He pushes the body of
- 37:53Speaker 5: Dill seventy four. Deal's dead and he's four years older
- 37:58Speaker 5: than Dial into the what, saying, at least now you'll
- 38:03Speaker 5: die with dignity.
- 38:06Speaker 4: I like this.
- 38:07Speaker 5: Susie Carmichael eighty two approaches and says, Tommy, Tommy, won't
- 38:16Speaker 5: you come back inside? I made pancakes, I made bacon,
- 38:20Speaker 5: I made soup, A classic breakfast, Tommy says in a minute,
- 38:30Speaker 5: immediately regretting his tone of voice, a tone he's adapted
- 38:34Speaker 5: from his many years working in the automotive industry, being
- 38:39Speaker 5: brash with his fellow coworkers, trying to live up to
- 38:42Speaker 5: their standards of masculinity, forgetting how loose and fun his
- 38:49Speaker 5: inventor father was Parentheses died forty three years ago. Oh
- 38:57Speaker 5: Tommy pushes Dill's head underneath the water, Dyl having been
- 39:04Speaker 5: shot by his ex wife Lil Lil Deville, twin of Phil.
- 39:18Speaker 2: I usually if there's a twin, okay, there's only one.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Win's happened.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Keep going, Keep going.
- 39:33Speaker 5: And as he's wondering if this is the correct thing
- 39:35Speaker 5: to do, a ghost of sens of Deedy Pickles one
- 39:40Speaker 5: hundred and twenty four, she says, you're doing the right thing,
- 39:47Speaker 5: pushing your brother's body into the lake. This is exactly
- 39:51Speaker 5: what I would have done. Tommy. I'm sorry you lost
- 39:54Speaker 5: your way as a man and that I couldn't be
- 39:56Speaker 5: there for you for the rest of your life. But
- 40:00Speaker 5: if you take one piece of advice for me, it's
- 40:04Speaker 5: and then she evaporates. Susie comes back with her soup
- 40:10Speaker 5: and says, Tommy, did you see the ghost of your
- 40:13Speaker 5: mother again? He goes, yeah, and Susie susan eighty two.
- 40:20Speaker 5: I'm sorry for yelling at you. She says, it's okay, Tommy,
- 40:25Speaker 5: we were regrets.
- 40:27Speaker 7: Oh my gosh, what a cool was that?
- 40:31Speaker 2: Really devastating that.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Not all has to be warning.
- 40:39Speaker 2: It's devastating.
- 40:39Speaker 5: It's an exploration, and I'm trying to explore masculinity.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it's obvious, it seemed very.
- 40:53Speaker 5: I'm literally trying to explore masculinity and.
- 40:57Speaker 3: For covering that, because I'll say, we're not holding up
- 41:01Speaker 3: our end of the bargain in terms of deconstructing masculinity.
- 41:04Speaker 7: I'm literally trying to put a lot on you hard.
- 41:07Speaker 5: And it's just like it keeps changing, and I have
- 41:10Speaker 5: to keep changing my stories to keep.
- 41:15Speaker 7: Changing time about masculinity changing. He is evolving. But you
- 41:22Speaker 7: don't have to do it alone.
- 41:24Speaker 2: It would be so much easier for you if but
- 41:25Speaker 2: stay the way it was.
- 41:29Speaker 10: All.
- 41:32Speaker 2: I actually touch on that in my.
- 41:33Speaker 6: Story if you yeah. So this is a story called uh.
- 41:40Speaker 6: Ray Barone's brother Robert Barone from Everybody Loves Raymond has
- 41:44Speaker 6: a vi curious encounter with Sam Malone from Cheers. Actually,
- 41:52Speaker 6: Robert Baron walks in with his suitcases into a bar
- 41:55Speaker 6: we all know. They said, Hey, we usually know everybody's name,
- 41:58Speaker 6: but I don't know yours. He says, I'll tell you
- 42:01Speaker 6: my name after you take this name down, bud lights,
- 42:06Speaker 6: I could use a drink. Sam says, I like the
- 42:08Speaker 6: cut of your jib.
- 42:09Speaker 4: Sir, are you so?
- 42:10Speaker 6: Are you a soldier? He said, no, I'm a police officer.
- 42:13Speaker 6: He said, oh, that's that uniform. He said, you don't
- 42:15Speaker 6: know the difference between a soldier and a police officer.
- 42:18Speaker 6: He said, I don't know a lot of things. I'm
- 42:20Speaker 6: a bartender, but I am I do no friendship, and
- 42:22Speaker 6: I do know good times. They had a bunch of drinks.
- 42:26Speaker 6: They start talking. No, I'm not that's not what I
- 42:31Speaker 6: that's not what I do.
- 42:34Speaker 4: They're drinking. The drinks are flowing.
- 42:35Speaker 6: Woody heads off, so does Carla SODA's coach in my world,
- 42:39Speaker 6: coach never dies and.
- 42:41Speaker 2: I really love that. I thank god I'm explaining that.
- 42:44Speaker 6: Sam says, so what are you doing here? He said,
- 42:46Speaker 6: I thought I'd take a trip to Boston by myself,
- 42:49Speaker 6: hang out, hang out with some people. When I'm home
- 42:52Speaker 6: in New York City, I'm just my brothers attache. And
- 42:56Speaker 6: Sam says, well, you're something else here. Sam's dirty Boston
- 43:03Speaker 6: lips kiss Roberts. Sam stands on a box of beers
- 43:09Speaker 6: just so he can get up to Robertson.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah, because he's so tall.
- 43:13Speaker 4: Whoa whoa, whoa, whoa whoa. I don't know about this,
- 43:15Speaker 4: Sam says, Listen, I don't either, but isn't not knowing
- 43:19Speaker 4: half the fun.
- 43:22Speaker 5: Awesome?
- 43:23Speaker 4: Sam's big old honk and cock honing cock honking cock?
- 43:32Speaker 7: Is that Boston traffic or Sam's cock?
- 43:35Speaker 6: How do you know that's the next line? Is it
- 43:37Speaker 6: Boston traffic or is it Sam's cock? It starts whipping
- 43:41Speaker 6: around and going wild. Robertsons, I don't know what.
- 43:43Speaker 2: To do with this.
- 43:44Speaker 6: He said, do what you feel. He starts throwing it
- 43:46Speaker 6: around and complete his nightstick, and then they're into it,
- 43:53Speaker 6: and then it's.
- 43:54Speaker 2: Over, so you get you get a little shy at
- 43:58Speaker 2: the end, and then he.
- 44:02Speaker 4: Says, this might be the place for everybody knows your name,
- 44:04Speaker 4: but it's time for you to.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Name Okay, and that usually moved. That was going to
- 44:11Speaker 2: be good. That was really hot.
- 44:13Speaker 4: You have more the next time they wake up. They're
- 44:15Speaker 4: as small as a beer nut.
- 44:23Speaker 5: In that story, the Cheers bar was small, right, but
- 44:27Speaker 5: we just didn't know and it was It's one of
- 44:31Speaker 5: those things where you read that and I went, normal
- 44:34Speaker 5: Cheers fan fitt, but idiot me, the Cheers ball bar
- 44:39Speaker 5: was small.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Yeah, we should have realized he walked in and people
- 44:43Speaker 2: didn't know what a cop uniform was that the Cheers
- 44:45Speaker 2: bar is small.
- 44:46Speaker 5: It's small because all the small to see it exactly
- 44:50Speaker 5: blue pants. When you're just down there, you're like, okay, whatever.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Okay, should we finish off with a fifteen year old?
- 44:57Speaker 4: I guess let's never say that.
- 45:00Speaker 3: Get let's let's know, let's no longer make a meal
- 45:07Speaker 3: of your age. I'd love to hear yours.
- 45:13Speaker 7: I like to make a meal of an air.
- 45:16Speaker 5: I'm gonna kind of person if I can get permission,
- 45:20Speaker 5: I'm going to aid you up. I'm gonna age you
- 45:27Speaker 5: up seventy two.
- 45:29Speaker 1: Okay, but I'm not. I'm just gonna read my big piece.
- 45:31Speaker 4: But yeah, yes, yes, I'm watching the reboot.
- 45:36Speaker 7: All right.
- 45:36Speaker 1: I'll just jump into one of them that you just finished.
- 45:40Speaker 2: What's it called?
- 45:42Speaker 1: You'll see.
- 45:47Speaker 11: On a hand me a load, Elsa. I'm cold on
- 45:53Speaker 11: a buck up duck. Who's in that helicopter?
- 46:01Speaker 1: It's Dory. She has a bow and arrow.
- 46:04Speaker 7: Oh oh, Dorry just hit me with a bow and arrow.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Oh no, oh oh Anna. I just want you to
- 46:18Speaker 1: know before we go, you've always been a better soldier
- 46:22Speaker 1: than I was.
- 46:23Speaker 2: No, don't say that, Elsa. So yeah, that was. That's
- 46:31Speaker 2: a little bit of an amazing sound effects written.
- 46:34Speaker 7: You use some on amount of peas and I'm seeing
- 46:36Speaker 7: what you're reading.
- 46:37Speaker 2: It's just.
- 46:40Speaker 7: That's like a paragraph.
- 46:42Speaker 2: It's my favorite word. I just so so, Dorry the
- 46:45Speaker 2: fish had a row in a helicopter.
- 46:47Speaker 5: Well, here's the thing, Dory, and tell me if this
- 46:49Speaker 5: is your intention, tell me this is your intention. Dory
- 46:51Speaker 5: is forgetful, right, so she might have forgotten what she
- 46:56Speaker 5: was supposed to be doing.
- 46:58Speaker 7: She's a war vet.
- 47:01Speaker 5: There to take it.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Take a helicopter with no like this, she's not taking that.
- 47:07Speaker 2: Remember she's a wart.
- 47:11Speaker 5: In the real movie too. If they had some brains
- 47:13Speaker 5: to think about that. And she forgets that she's up
- 47:15Speaker 5: in air, she thinks she's just at target.
- 47:17Speaker 2: What are they fighting over? Do you ever go into that? Yeah?
- 47:21Speaker 1: I could scrip to a couple of chapters later if
- 47:23Speaker 1: you'd like.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Of course, So you guys want her to eat more? Yes,
- 47:28Speaker 2: just so, just a little.
- 47:29Speaker 12: At the end, Dha, you found me there? Anna looks
- 47:37Speaker 12: straight up at two flames. It's Loumire with a chainsaw.
- 47:42Speaker 12: Loumier says, be my guess.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Ring, this land is ours ring. No no, no, no, no,
- 47:52Speaker 1: no no no no. We didn't own all of the ice, Loumire,
- 47:57Speaker 1: Please go be with your beast. We don't want France,
- 48:00Speaker 1: we just want the ice. Then suddenly Marlin comes down
- 48:06Speaker 1: that's Nemo's father.
- 48:08Speaker 7: Yes, the sky from the air.
- 48:09Speaker 1: Down in a in a parishut when Ninja Stars drops him.
- 48:15Speaker 2: And goes, oops, oh you dropped the Ninja.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Stares hits On in the face.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't know.
- 48:21Speaker 5: He was clumsy clownfish. Clownfish and he's a vet, so
- 48:26Speaker 5: that's a clumsy.
- 48:29Speaker 2: That's both. So they were fighting over France and I
- 48:36Speaker 2: actually that was awesome.
- 48:39Speaker 4: I actually think you're the best writer here.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Actually really told the story.
- 48:45Speaker 7: You painted such a story that I was waiting to.
- 48:47Speaker 2: See where it was bigger than anything we could write.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Like you were. We were talking about small moments in
- 48:52Speaker 2: people's lives, just like Slice of Lives you were talking
- 48:55Speaker 2: about a war.
- 48:56Speaker 1: You can, I can I say something what sometimes I
- 48:59Speaker 1: feel like when I'm reading other stuff on Tumblr and stuff,
- 49:02Speaker 1: I feel like, because I'm not doing sex stuff in
- 49:06Speaker 1: my writing that I'm not a real fan figure.
- 49:09Speaker 5: No, no, but the best stuff.
- 49:11Speaker 1: You guys get the biggest clicks when you do that stuff. Yeah,
- 49:14Speaker 1: but what do they mean it clicks?
- 49:16Speaker 2: Mean? Yeah?
- 49:17Speaker 5: Sure, I get a thousand clicks for I don't know,
- 49:22Speaker 5: Doug Funny filating himself.
- 49:24Speaker 2: That's good, Okay, good at ninety years old.
- 49:28Speaker 7: Sure, yeah, I'd click on that.
- 49:30Speaker 5: It doesn't mean anything.
- 49:32Speaker 1: Ed netdie a in a in an old folks home circle,
- 49:36Speaker 1: jerking went viral and they're brothers.
- 49:39Speaker 5: I didn't like writing that, but you know what, specifically,
- 49:43Speaker 5: and the brothers in mine, they're brothers and mine, and
- 49:46Speaker 5: you know what, they're brothers in mine.
- 49:50Speaker 6: But this.
- 49:54Speaker 5: Stuff that gets me excited to return to my post
- 49:58Speaker 5: it note covered computer every day is the stuff about
- 50:02Speaker 5: old people giving each other a dignified ending to their lives.
- 50:05Speaker 1: But if no one clicked on it, would you still
- 50:06Speaker 1: be proud of it?
- 50:08Speaker 2: I've got so many pieces that not a single person
- 50:11Speaker 2: has ever clicked on, including me. Those are some of
- 50:17Speaker 2: my favorite pieces I ever ever ever wrote.
- 50:21Speaker 5: You have to it's a marathon. Yeah, you have to
- 50:23Speaker 5: follow the voice in you, the younger voice.
- 50:27Speaker 7: Because what is a thousand clicks? What do you get
- 50:29Speaker 7: a thousand clicks? Money?
- 50:32Speaker 3: No? Yeah, fame, no kind of It's just a screening,
- 50:38Speaker 3: same niche fame, but no one knows you.
- 50:41Speaker 4: We do have to wrap up because I'm about to bust.
- 50:43Speaker 4: But what I think I'm just from this conversation. I'm
- 50:48Speaker 4: about to bum.
- 50:49Speaker 6: Yeah, But what I need to say is is maybe
- 50:53Speaker 6: we all read ourselves a fan fiction of how we
- 50:55Speaker 6: want our lives to be from here.
- 50:57Speaker 5: Stop that genius.
- 50:58Speaker 7: Okay, stopped.
- 51:00Speaker 2: So why don't we just go like popcorn?
- 51:01Speaker 4: Okay?
- 51:02Speaker 2: So like you say, like a little bit and then
- 51:03Speaker 2: you will app and like it'll go.
- 51:05Speaker 4: Maybe it's the five of us happen.
- 51:07Speaker 7: Oh we all right, yeah, it happens together.
- 51:10Speaker 1: The interviews over, they put their mics down, they grab
- 51:14Speaker 1: their guns.
- 51:15Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes, we head into the studio. We pick
- 51:20Speaker 3: up fifty cases. Numbers in those cases dictate the ratio
- 51:25Speaker 3: with which we will come. If that ratio is an
- 51:30Speaker 3: odd number, it's men first. If it's even, it's women.
- 51:36Speaker 3: And if it's zero, that's the non binary people's time
- 51:39Speaker 3: to shine.
- 51:40Speaker 2: So anyway, Chapter two, somehow we actually go through platform
- 51:48Speaker 2: nine three quarters and we end up on the train
- 51:51Speaker 2: going to Hogwarts, and all through five of us with
- 51:53Speaker 2: our guns are like, wait a second, we shouldn't be here.
- 51:56Speaker 2: But in the train, right next to us, we knock
- 51:58Speaker 2: on a door. We open it and it's of course
- 52:02Speaker 2: it's uh, it's Jonathan Chang Cho Chang's brother. It's uh, Jonathan.
- 52:10Speaker 2: I wasn't gonna do anything else, Jonathan Chang, Choe Chang's brother, uh,
- 52:17Speaker 2: Professor Lucius Lupus's brother, Lupin's brother, and of course it's
- 52:23Speaker 2: uh oh, madam, keep all fun. It's Madame mcgonagall's half
- 52:28Speaker 2: sister who you're there on the cart with us and
- 52:33Speaker 2: saying you're actually going to be great Hogwarts. So anyway,
- 52:37Speaker 2: we get off the train and we're no longer on Hogwarts.
- 52:40Speaker 2: We're not cute little town town called Brooklyn, New York.
- 52:45Speaker 2: We walk up, we see a brownstone, walk in.
- 52:50Speaker 6: It's the Huxtables, it's CL's the Huxtables.
- 52:55Speaker 4: Rudy Theo. They say, come on in, let's out, but uh, oh,
- 53:02Speaker 4: watch out, what's that? We wake up? We are the
- 53:06Speaker 4: size of a worm.
- 53:08Speaker 5: The worm eighty nine eighty nine looks over at us
- 53:17Speaker 5: and says, hey, you're like me, now us eighty seven.
- 53:23Speaker 7: All of us, yes, if we share one body.
- 53:29Speaker 5: Respond and say, oh my god, worm, isn't it so
- 53:33Speaker 5: sad and lonely living at this size on the ground
- 53:37Speaker 5: where you just watch people pass by.
- 53:40Speaker 2: And the worm.
- 53:42Speaker 5: Ninety exact birthday happened right that moment.
- 53:49Speaker 7: Oh my god, oh my god, I didn't get the birthday.
- 53:52Speaker 7: Think until you did it to me.
- 53:54Speaker 2: Oh my god, exact, Oh my god, birthday exactly a rare,
- 54:00Speaker 2: exact birthday, rare exact birthday.
- 54:04Speaker 7: Exact birthday, now exact birthday.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Oh we've all been shot by move fass.
- 54:15Speaker 3: This has best answering the question.
