- 1:21Speaker 2: oh my goodness, me, it's.

- 1:42Speaker 2: It's a horror movie from the ninety eight. Its very obscure.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I read the description and I was like, this sounds fun.
- 1:48Speaker 2: It does. Yeah, look, it's kind of sleazy and weird,
- 1:51Speaker 2: but also yeah, pretty entertaining.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Ship the name of price text on it. Oh no,
- 1:56Speaker 1: but hopefully i'mformed down. I was like, but GV currently

- 2:11Speaker 1: lot of shit in the can because Nicholas Danley are
- 2:13Speaker 1: over for Christmas, so we're getting all this stuff getting a.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Lot of shit in the can. Because we also talked
- 2:16Speaker 2: about mister mister my friends that head Star Toys. This
- 2:21Speaker 2: makes a lot of sense for a guy because it's
- 2:23Speaker 2: about a movie Neude who gets horribly bullied and then
- 2:25Speaker 2: decides to take horrible revenge on his tormentors using various
- 2:28Speaker 2: techniques from the movies. Good stuff, And this is a
- 2:32Speaker 2: nice four K version that is shock a block.
- 2:34Speaker 1: It's got a lot of special features yep.
- 2:37Speaker 2: A bunch of audio commentaries with the people involved and
- 2:41Speaker 2: people who weren't involved but who just like the movie.
- 2:43Speaker 2: And they're just a lot of extra stuff on the
- 2:46Speaker 2: extra disc. So thanks dandoh you're welcome. Here's my next present. Yes,
- 2:52Speaker 2: this is the This is a book called The Star
- 2:53Speaker 2: Wars Archives by Paul Duncan and it's the fortieth anniversary edition.
- 2:59Speaker 2: So this is about the This is about the original
- 3:01Speaker 2: trilogy and it says on the back the definitive exploration
- 3:04Speaker 2: of the original trilogy. So it's going to be like
- 3:06Speaker 2: full of great artwork on set to pictures.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Do you give a share to our friend Toby by
- 3:12Speaker 1: the way, who sorted this out for us to well
- 3:15Speaker 1: in toads.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah, this is the.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Last minute things. So it was just like they weren't
- 3:19Speaker 1: going to get it in times, and he went and
- 3:20Speaker 1: picked it up for me and brought it back to
- 3:22Speaker 1: his house.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Oh what a legend. Yeah, yeah, he's like a little
- 3:24Speaker 2: Christmas elve is. Yeah, so shout out. But yeah, Merry
- 3:30Speaker 2: Christmas to Tobes as well. But yeah, Star Wars Archives.
- 3:33Speaker 2: They also did one on the prequels and I said, no, think.
- 3:36Speaker 1: You like, I'm assure you don't mean the prequel one.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I was like, oh god. As recently mentioned on another
- 3:43Speaker 2: four Finger disca an episode tried to reach fandom Menace terrible,
- 3:47Speaker 2: not good at all. But I guess what, these are
- 3:49Speaker 2: good movies and I'm looking forward to reading this.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Book about it. And the book looks great, like I looked.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I was like, I'm gonna have to get me one
- 3:54Speaker 1: of these.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I think this is from our friends at tash and
- 3:55Speaker 2: by the way, who put do really great art books
- 3:58Speaker 2: and movie books there. So this is the sign of quality.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Here's another tagline, the best book on the greatest saga
- 4:04Speaker 2: in the word.
- 4:05Speaker 1: It's probably the best way to sell the book, right, Absolutely,
- 4:08Speaker 1: this is the best Star Wars book. You know you've
- 4:12Speaker 1: got a good book when it's got a bit of
- 4:13Speaker 1: hif geare. That's why I'm always I love a good book.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Pick it up, your hold in your hand, oh man,
- 4:17Speaker 1: truly presence, Thank you Dan, no problem, my different presence.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I'll reach into this goodie bag here. I pulled something
- 4:23Speaker 1: out here. This looks like something I can play on
- 4:25Speaker 1: a record player. Sure is Oh it's the seventh soundtrack
- 4:28Speaker 1: seven score? I should say, is it?
- 4:30Speaker 2: The score is going to get any Nine Snails or
- 4:33Speaker 2: Trent Resident doing what to fuck You like an animal?
- 4:38Speaker 2: But Howard Shaw's music for seven is fantastic and this
- 4:42Speaker 2: looks like a pretty loaded set as well.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Yeah, is a double album? I believe so Yes, Yeah,
- 4:47Speaker 1: four signs perfect, exactly what I wanted.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Thank you, sir, You're very very welcome. Oh god, I
- 4:52Speaker 2: don't know I'm talking about the first time I ever
- 4:53Speaker 2: saw seven. But I went to I didn't know a
- 4:55Speaker 2: whole lot about it. I'd seen a trailer. I thought
- 4:57Speaker 2: this movie looks pretty cool, had a terrible hangover, went
- 5:01Speaker 2: to melbourneuse I was going to review it, and saw it.
- 5:03Speaker 2: I was like the only person in this Melbourne cinema
- 5:06Speaker 2: and it was a big screen.
- 5:07Speaker 1: A fucking rockstar when you just paid to watch movies.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yeah, kind of. It was kind of an unforgettab Exien
- 5:14Speaker 2: because you've seen seven right, that movie is fucking demonic.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Yeah, we all think we see the head in the box,
- 5:19Speaker 1: but we don't correct. Yeah, but it's also was like, oh, well, yeah,
- 5:23Speaker 1: now that's a pretty neat hook. Oh he's killing people
- 5:25Speaker 1: by the seven Deadly Sins. What an interesting story. That's
- 5:28Speaker 1: darker than it and it gets fucking.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Positively satanic cursed movie.
- 5:33Speaker 1: But the best endings are really good. Yeah.
- 5:36Speaker 2: But and the music is a big, big part of that. Yeah.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Howard Shaw was a terrific composer, did a lot of
- 5:41Speaker 2: work for Saturn That Live and also did the music
- 5:44Speaker 2: for the Lord of the Rings. Enjoy.
- 5:47Speaker 1: But I said, there's two bags here. Correct, what's in
- 5:51Speaker 1: bag number two? It feels hard rock, hard, stiffy? Correct?
- 5:58Speaker 1: What Oh you got vagabone? You didn't getvagabone perfect. We
- 6:03Speaker 1: both wanted a book. We both wanted something else. You
- 6:05Speaker 1: wanted your media physically physical media, isn't it It isn't Yeah? Yeah,
- 6:09Speaker 1: cool physical media and a book. No, I'm getting I
- 6:11Speaker 1: know I'm getting mature when I want a book for Christmas,
- 6:13Speaker 1: and I've got it Tim Curry's vagabone book. This looks
- 6:16Speaker 1: fantastic Tim Curry, what a man?
- 6:17Speaker 2: Oh exactly. Yeah, and apparently is a really good autobiography.
- 6:20Speaker 2: So yeah, did he he wrote him himself, of course.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:24Speaker 2: And look you've got people on the back saying how
- 6:26Speaker 2: good it is. Idol, Yes, Susan Sarendon and Lacy Shaber
- 6:29Speaker 2: from Mean Girls and Party five.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Sure. Eric Idol said that he spoke to Rob.
- 6:33Speaker 2: The night before he died. Yeah, only moly.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Brack Obama photographic dinner with him that
- 6:38Speaker 1: night or something. Yeah, anyway, I'll get them before he
- 6:42Speaker 1: talked about that and going down to South let's get
- 6:43Speaker 1: into that again. But yes, thank you sir. You'll bury
- 6:46Speaker 1: a good book, as you said, when it's hardcover all
- 6:49Speaker 1: the way, love it.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Merry Christmas to you all. Right.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Now, what we do here on the Christmas Specialists? First
- 6:54Speaker 1: of all, what do you doing for Christmas?
- 6:56Speaker 2: That's a good question. With Loo's family, we're actually having
- 6:59Speaker 2: a bit of a get together the Sunday before Christmas,
- 7:01Speaker 2: so it'll be on like that twenty First, we're going
- 7:03Speaker 2: to just have a get together for a nice meal
- 7:06Speaker 2: and get together and all that kind of stuff. And
- 7:09Speaker 2: then on the day itself, I will spend the morning
- 7:12Speaker 2: with lou and her kids, just you know, it'll be
- 7:14Speaker 2: a bit of trading of gifts and whatnot. But then
- 7:16Speaker 2: we're heading down to Saint Leonard's down the coast here
- 7:19Speaker 2: to my sister Margo's house, which is a lovely place
- 7:22Speaker 2: on the water. Going to be a big Davis family celebration.
- 7:26Speaker 2: My sister Prue's three kids are going to be there.
- 7:29Speaker 2: They're normally off sort of doing things with their various
- 7:31Speaker 2: in laws, but they're all going to be there, sister
- 7:33Speaker 2: Adwena's kids. Yeah, no, it's it's going to be really good.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Looking forward to it so great. Yeah, that'll be it'll
- 7:40Speaker 1: be a nice what's your Christmas tradition? What's the thing
- 7:42Speaker 1: that you like to make sure you do on Christmas Day?
- 7:44Speaker 1: You should watch a lot of the Rings back in
- 7:45Speaker 1: the day, didn't you? That was unboxing? Well don't yeah,
- 7:50Speaker 1: don't step on the question, of course. Yeah, yeah, because
- 7:54Speaker 1: if that, I'm sorry, I'm going to butcher your surname here,
- 7:56Speaker 1: La Chemignon sounds very fancy. Yeah, yeah, she's got a question.
- 8:00Speaker 1: What's a non negotiable. She's probably it's chemin Ant's how
- 8:04Speaker 1: it's spelled it correctly, dickhead.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Asking what's a non negotiable?
- 8:09Speaker 1: So we're going to be getting to the Patreon questions
- 8:11Speaker 1: in a moment.
- 8:11Speaker 2: We'll get to that certainly. But do I have any.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I have to watch Mother Christmas Carol, let's have it
- 8:17Speaker 1: on the TV at some point.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I'll have to have some Christmas movie on, probably the
- 8:22Speaker 2: night before and maybe O recently watched Scrooge. They didn't
- 8:26Speaker 2: recently watch Screwge.
- 8:27Speaker 1: So look not to be about the Hannah mar Barer
- 8:30Speaker 1: Christmas special.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Or were Charlie Brown Christmas or something like that. Look,
- 8:35Speaker 2: maybe go old school and put on It's a Wonderful
- 8:36Speaker 2: Life or something like that, or to be sort of
- 8:39Speaker 2: a modern cliche. No, no, put on die Hard or
- 8:42Speaker 2: Lethal Weapon both Christmas movies, lethal Weapon take movies Christmas. Correct.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Yeah, So it's like Marge being not Proud. Is that
- 8:49Speaker 1: a Christmas episode or does it just say place for Christmas?
- 8:52Speaker 1: Because you said March Proud is not a christis episode.
- 8:54Speaker 1: So if that's not a Christmas episode, then it is
- 8:55Speaker 1: Diehard a Christmas movie?
- 8:59Speaker 2: Now you may be he'd explode someone said the other
- 9:04Speaker 2: day that I was like, well, you know, if he's
- 9:06Speaker 2: not going to La for the Nacotomy Plaza Christmas party,
- 9:10Speaker 2: and the story doesn't really happen, does it doesn't know,
- 9:13Speaker 2: It's like maybe he could.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Be going anyway.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Die hard, as I always say, Dieters for life, not
- 9:19Speaker 2: just because the.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Guy wearing a sand has hat.
- 9:21Speaker 2: It's Christmas movie, correct, Yeah, and he gives a John
- 9:23Speaker 2: McClean a kiss. John Clane's like, what the hell man
- 9:26Speaker 2: La the California.
- 9:28Speaker 1: The I mean the guy gets killed in the chair.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeaheah.
- 9:32Speaker 1: So I've got a pop of that. And the kids
- 9:33Speaker 1: are like, what's all that red stuff on him? I'm like,
- 9:35Speaker 1: don't worry about it.
- 9:37Speaker 2: It's Cranberry. Though.
- 9:41Speaker 1: We for the first time ever, well you've got a
- 9:45Speaker 1: it's very hectic. Is it the first time ever that
- 9:49Speaker 1: I think that we're here once for Christmas? Maybe no,
- 9:52Speaker 1: because Nicholas dad or stepdad dad Ray has only come
- 9:56Speaker 1: to Australia once and it was for our wedding, which
- 9:59Speaker 1: was in February s I don't think he's ever been
- 10:01Speaker 1: here for Christmas. Nichola says, I have memories of them
- 10:03Speaker 1: being here for Christmas. I just don't recall that being
- 10:06Speaker 1: the case. Interesting, but I could be wrong. But it's
- 10:09Speaker 1: the first time in a long time he's been to
- 10:10Speaker 1: a show over a decade. So we're gonna have Nicholas
- 10:13Speaker 1: family over from the UK. They're on a plane right
- 10:15Speaker 1: now as we speak. They've just bordered the plane. They're
- 10:17Speaker 1: going to be flying here. It's going to be tired tomorrow.
- 10:19Speaker 1: But when they're arriving's to be thirty five degrees, so
- 10:21Speaker 1: they're going to be not happy thirty five tomorrow. It's
- 10:23Speaker 1: thirty four today and thirty five tomorrow.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Holy moly. Yeah, the way house tomorrow. Yeah, have fun
- 10:31Speaker 2: working faster, being a little Christmas elf getting people out.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Yeah, we're going to have a mad house. Was going
- 10:37Speaker 1: to be good, Nicholas. I can just tell. This is
- 10:38Speaker 1: the most excited Nicholas been for Christmas in a long
- 10:40Speaker 1: time because she gets to see her family a Christmas time.
- 10:42Speaker 1: It's marvelous. Yeah, Nicola gave up everything to come living
- 10:44Speaker 1: here with me, so, you know, house awful people, but
- 10:46Speaker 1: it's going to be great.
- 10:47Speaker 2: It's gonna betrass.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Sister Benice's coming over with her with my niece Isabelle,
- 10:51Speaker 1: I'm actually an uncle, but because because I don't live here,
- 10:54Speaker 1: it just doesn't feel the same. But yeah, I'm uncle
- 10:56Speaker 1: Brendan and she bring her partner Nicko, and Ray and Julie.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Nichola's parents are coming over as well. It's gonna be great.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Were saying here.
- 11:04Speaker 1: No parents are staying in an airbnb, sister, partner and daughter
- 11:07Speaker 1: staying here. But Christmas Day is here. Christ's Lunch is
- 11:10Speaker 1: gonna be here this year to save the hassle.
- 11:12Speaker 2: How old is Isabelle.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Six months younger than Alliyet six and a haine?
- 11:15Speaker 2: Okay, they're also play time for the kids. Oh yeah,
- 11:17Speaker 2: gonna be great.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Yeah. So they're gonna all share the bunk bed, So
- 11:20Speaker 1: Holly and isabel on the bottom bunk, all on the
- 11:22Speaker 1: top bunk.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Wow.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Alis was a little playlist the movie's gonna watch a
- 11:25Speaker 1: night time in the projector. The kids are so excited.
- 11:27Speaker 2: It sounds rad it sounds very rare.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Cousin isabel over for Christmas.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Lovely? It is indeed lovely, lovely.
- 11:32Speaker 1: And if you're a fan of the One About Friends,
- 11:34Speaker 1: We're going to get those guys on the podcast One
- 11:36Speaker 1: About Friends to reviewer Friends episode with us because Nicola,
- 11:38Speaker 1: I'm like, you'll look back at this in five ten
- 11:40Speaker 1: years and Goo, I'm glad I reviewed every set of friends.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I had a podcast with mom, dad, sister all on Brilliant,
- 11:46Speaker 1: So we're gonna do that and a lot about friends.
- 11:48Speaker 1: But let's get into the Patreon question. So we threw
- 11:51Speaker 1: it out there last minute Christmas Special questions to our patrons.
- 11:55Speaker 1: You want to be a supportive as Patreon. It is
- 11:57Speaker 1: available in the link in the description of this podcast
- 11:59Speaker 1: for as little as just one dollar per month. I
- 12:01Speaker 1: think it's yeah, two dollar per month. You get access
- 12:03Speaker 1: to the to the Facebook Facebook Grip where you get
- 12:05Speaker 1: to throw a question to us. So next year, but
- 12:08Speaker 1: this first one here, as we were touching on earlier
- 12:10Speaker 1: from a vet says what's non negotiable for Christmas Day?
- 12:12Speaker 1: And I will saying non negotiable for me is I
- 12:14Speaker 1: usually have the Christmas movie on your yours? Was the
- 12:18Speaker 1: Boxing Day thing?
- 12:20Speaker 2: Yes?
- 12:21Speaker 1: Now it's Ali and I has gone to the Boxing
- 12:23Speaker 1: Day tests with second year a straight going taking my
- 12:26Speaker 1: dad and Nicholas dad to the Boxing Day test day
- 12:27Speaker 1: one or two.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Lou and I were probably just hitting the Boxing Day
- 12:31Speaker 2: sales because we were sort of like trading.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Are they still a thing though, because like, yeah, now
- 12:34Speaker 1: it's got Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we just want
- 12:37Speaker 1: to get ship up befo Christmas.
- 12:39Speaker 2: I mean I was asking Lou what she wanted. I
- 12:41Speaker 2: mean I had various ideas and about just about I
- 12:45Speaker 2: want you well that's the given. Yeah, just titled a
- 12:49Speaker 2: bowl on it big.
- 12:51Speaker 1: But but it's like like maybe this, but maybe that
- 12:56Speaker 1: because yeah, as you said, you know Black Friday and
- 12:58Speaker 1: Somber Monday's already been.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Is like I kind of jumped the gun on a
- 13:01Speaker 2: bunch of stuff that I wanted and she was kind
- 13:06Speaker 2: of the same. I am not exactly sure. I mean, yeah,
- 13:09Speaker 2: think about certain things. And then she said, how about
- 13:12Speaker 2: we just hit the sales together on boxing go up
- 13:14Speaker 2: to Melbourne or something and they will have a night
- 13:17Speaker 2: out in Melbourne and all that. So that actually sounds
- 13:18Speaker 2: like kind of cool. Yeah, we may well do that.
- 13:21Speaker 2: That sounds good. I was just keeping one of the
- 13:23Speaker 2: boxing days going to be crazy in Melbourne. Well, I
- 13:26Speaker 2: know one hundred thousand people for the cricket alone, that's true.
- 13:31Speaker 2: But they got that new tunnel so you can get
- 13:32Speaker 2: into Melbourne's.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Yeah, apparently a ne tunnel. I haven't used to yet.
- 13:36Speaker 1: You gotta pay to use it sometimes. Yeah, well, I
- 13:38Speaker 1: don't think is the driving one. I was a driving
- 13:40Speaker 1: one open. I thought it was just the train tunnels open.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure the driving one's open as well. Are
- 13:43Speaker 1: you sure? I'm pretty sure the city Link or whatever
- 13:46Speaker 1: it is. Yeah, I thought I was just to get
- 13:48Speaker 1: on the train. Are you sure the driving ones open?
- 13:50Speaker 2: I think they had on the news the other night
- 13:52Speaker 2: people driving cars through it. Really.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 13:55Speaker 2: Okay, cool, that's.
- 13:56Speaker 1: A Christmas present for Everybody's something we can enjoy. It
- 13:59Speaker 1: works final over a Melbourne big build, finally sort of complete. Right,
- 14:03Speaker 1: next question here, Chris Lee. Have either of you pulled
- 14:06Speaker 1: my two cents cheap out story on a Christmas gift
- 14:09Speaker 1: for a sibling? I never have because I always like
- 14:11Speaker 1: to spoil people for Christmas. I know of someone who
- 14:15Speaker 1: once bought somebody a chocolate bar for Christmas and I
- 14:18Speaker 1: was like, dude, you could have done better than that.
- 14:20Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 14:20Speaker 2: Was it the famous do buy chocolate but like it's
- 14:23Speaker 2: like twenty six bucks a bar?
- 14:24Speaker 1: No, it was just it was just so you're sitting
- 14:27Speaker 1: there with you know, you're vaping and you've got this,
- 14:30Speaker 1: and you've got that, but you've bought your sister a
- 14:32Speaker 1: chocolate bar for Christmas? What are you doing? Buddy got
- 14:35Speaker 1: her twigs? It was I think it wasn't a Snickers
- 14:39Speaker 1: because that would have been even funnier. I've had a spider.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Listeners to the show will probably guess who received this
- 14:49Speaker 2: job at bar?
- 14:52Speaker 1: I do, Come on, what are we doing anyway?
- 14:56Speaker 2: I never have.
- 14:57Speaker 1: No, I don't like, yeah, we do want cheap out
- 14:59Speaker 1: of gifts. No, have you ever repurposed a gift?
- 15:02Speaker 2: I have.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I've done it with with birth the kid's birthday stuff
- 15:06Speaker 1: Alia stuff for his birthday. He never opened it. I'm like,
- 15:07Speaker 1: we're now giving this to the next kid for his birthday.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that sounds about right. I don't think I've ever
- 15:11Speaker 2: done that either.
- 15:14Speaker 1: No.
- 15:14Speaker 2: I mean it'll probably sit there gathering dust and not
- 15:18Speaker 2: being used or something like that. But no, I don't
- 15:20Speaker 2: think I've ever repurposed.
- 15:21Speaker 1: And I have a lot of things in my house
- 15:22Speaker 1: that I got and I go, I like knowing I'm
- 15:25Speaker 1: going to be able to use it one day, like
- 15:26Speaker 1: a book to read or a movie watch, and it
- 15:28Speaker 1: just sits there for a decade and I'm like I'll
- 15:30Speaker 1: get to it one day. It's gonna be great.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely, yeah, it's just finding the time.
- 15:35Speaker 1: The rat race of life.
- 15:36Speaker 2: I mentioned you give me the red. I mentioned this
- 15:39Speaker 2: the other day to a friend of mine. I think
- 15:42Speaker 2: I've got stuff that I received last year for Christmas.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I haven't opened it.
- 15:45Speaker 2: And I haven't opened I mean, like one one's a book.
- 15:48Speaker 2: It's like still in the plastic, beautiful coffee table. We're
- 15:51Speaker 2: going to like I can't wait to look through this
- 15:53Speaker 2: and like a whole year.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:55Speaker 2: And the other thing was a coffee machine that I got,
- 15:57Speaker 2: and I was like, I've just been keep keep on
- 15:59Speaker 2: making myself instant coffee in the morning.
- 16:00Speaker 1: It's like, you're got a coffee machine. You haven't opened it?
- 16:03Speaker 2: Correct, Wow, I know I feel really bad about that.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Really should feel bad about that one.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Well, yeah, but then Luke came back from Bali recently
- 16:11Speaker 2: and brought me some of that. It's the coffee beans
- 16:15Speaker 2: that have got the wildcat eats it and it goes
- 16:19Speaker 2: through this instance and they shit it out, and people
- 16:23Speaker 2: go through the wildcat shit and they get the beans
- 16:25Speaker 2: that have been undigested and grind down on a coffee
- 16:27Speaker 2: Apparently it's really delicious.
- 16:29Speaker 1: So I've got some of that. So that's a good
- 16:31Speaker 1: excuse to break out the coffee machine and do it. Yeah,
- 16:33Speaker 1: and have cat Pool coffee. Brad Mull says here this
- 16:36Speaker 1: is not really a Christmas question. He says, more fortigure
- 16:38Speaker 1: discas it was mentioned in an earlier podcast that teams
- 16:40Speaker 1: can't really relate to anyone the show. I remember saying that.
- 16:42Speaker 1: But basically, yeah, we qutioned, is that.
- 16:43Speaker 2: We're talking about another pod? Have you been listening to
- 16:45Speaker 2: another podcast?
- 16:46Speaker 1: The kids can enjoy it, adults can enjoy it, but
- 16:49Speaker 1: can teens really enjoy it? And he says it is
- 16:51Speaker 1: it more that the fact that you get to your
- 16:53Speaker 1: teen years and you stop watching the Simpsons because the
- 16:55Speaker 1: other things that do. But then we've discussed how some
- 16:57Speaker 1: people love season thirteen, fourteen, et cetera because they were
- 16:59Speaker 1: younger fans. Then well it's just the question of the
- 17:01Speaker 1: answer of you like, you have nostalgia for what you
- 17:04Speaker 1: grew up with. Certainly, so there are people out there
- 17:07Speaker 1: who grew up with teen year of the Simpsons and
- 17:08Speaker 1: it's what was on TV when they're a kid, and
- 17:10Speaker 1: they had the nostalgia for us, So of course they're
- 17:11Speaker 1: going to enjoy it. Will they say it's better. They
- 17:14Speaker 1: probably don't think it's better, but it's just what they
- 17:16Speaker 1: what they like more because they have the nostalgia connection
- 17:18Speaker 1: to it.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think. I don't think they're either. I
- 17:20Speaker 2: don't think they're really looking into it as a relatability
- 17:23Speaker 2: as well. I think they're more looking to it for
- 17:24Speaker 2: laps and nothing else.
- 17:25Speaker 1: It's a good point though, in the sense that maybe teens.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I don't rembly watching The Symptons all that much when
- 17:29Speaker 1: I was a teenager because he's got other shit to do.
- 17:31Speaker 1: But it's like to show you watch when your kid,
- 17:33Speaker 1: and then you sort of hit your twenties, you're like,
- 17:34Speaker 1: what's that watch? Oh Simpsons? It's comfort, you know. Oh yeah,
- 17:38Speaker 1: And as you get old and old and you're like,
- 17:39Speaker 1: I can show the kids the Simpsons. So maybe there
- 17:41Speaker 1: is like that period of your life where it's like,
- 17:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna take a break for the Simpsons and come
- 17:45Speaker 1: back to it.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Oh. Certainly. I think there are times when you hit
- 17:48Speaker 2: maybe thirteen, fourteen through till maybe your early twenties or
- 17:53Speaker 2: so twenty one, maybe when it's kind of like time
- 17:56Speaker 2: to put a wee childish things and explore what it's
- 17:58Speaker 2: gonna what's the artner teamer that's gonna make guy guy?
- 18:03Speaker 2: You know when you're trying to forge a new identic.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Maybe that's just me. Yeah, So you sort of put
- 18:07Speaker 2: the stuff that you enjoyed when you were a bit younger,
- 18:09Speaker 2: assigned somewhearing band shirts and whatnot correctly.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I like, these guys, do you do you know who
- 18:15Speaker 1: they are? And not that one? Not the one everyone knows.
- 18:23Speaker 2: No. I think I think you're right. I think you've
- 18:24Speaker 2: answered Brad's question. Well.

- 18:55Speaker 1: Carol and Treasure Island? What classic story would you like
- 18:58Speaker 1: to see the Muppets? Do? I think we've answered this question. Before.
- 19:00Speaker 1: What's a class? What's a classic story like Christmas Carol,
- 19:03Speaker 1: Treasure Isle, what's another one of those stories?
- 19:05Speaker 2: Once upon a time in Hollywood you can have like
- 19:07Speaker 2: Kermit as Kermit as Leozy, Fozzy Beer as a Brad Pitt,
- 19:13Speaker 2: and Miss Piggy as Margo Robbie.
- 19:15Speaker 1: You could well, who's working on the Miss Piggy film
- 19:17Speaker 1: with them? Mimmistone, Oh it's Emistone and Jennifer Lawrence. Yeah,
- 19:19Speaker 1: what is that going to be?
- 19:21Speaker 2: No idea, but I'm guessing that they saw, oh wow,
- 19:24Speaker 2: we turned Barbie into a light and bride comed that's
- 19:28Speaker 2: also a Taylor feminist empowerment. Who else who could we
- 19:31Speaker 2: do that with Miss Piggy?
- 19:32Speaker 1: That's a fat shep with the whole thing about Miss
- 19:34Speaker 1: Piggers is fat SHEMMYO. That's the gag, is it?
- 19:37Speaker 2: I never really viewed Yeah, I was viewed as kind
- 19:39Speaker 2: of like she's just a diva.
- 19:41Speaker 1: It's just like the fat half a pig. That's sort
- 19:44Speaker 1: of like the game.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Never I never viewed it that way. But then I'm
- 19:46Speaker 2: sensitive and you know, enlightened.
- 19:48Speaker 1: People don't like because she's a deva, but also that
- 19:50Speaker 1: it's like the fact that she's you're you think you're attractive,
- 19:53Speaker 1: you think you're a man made Come on, pig like that.
- 19:55Speaker 1: That's a gag.
- 19:57Speaker 2: This is not dissing Babs in any way, But I'm
- 20:00Speaker 2: I was viewed Miss Picky is kind of like a
- 20:01Speaker 2: pisstake on Barbara streisand who's not a conventional beauty but
- 20:05Speaker 2: sort of attractive. I mean, you go back to the
- 20:07Speaker 2: seventies and dog in a movie call WhatsApp Doc. I
- 20:09Speaker 2: remember seeing that when I was a kid and going, wow,
- 20:11Speaker 2: is Barbara.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Streisand did anything? Mecha streisand well, yeah, but yeah, not
- 20:17Speaker 3: a conventional beauty, but carried herself like I'm the most
- 20:21Speaker 3: beautiful and charismatic and talented person in the world and
- 20:25Speaker 3: expected everyone to followus it and it's they sort of did.
- 20:27Speaker 3: It was like the Strats in effect before the Stras
- 20:29Speaker 3: in effect. So that's how I kind of view it.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I mean, I never yeah, and I'm not as big
- 20:33Speaker 2: a muppet guy as you, but I never viewed anyone
- 20:36Speaker 2: sort of making. I never saw the comedy in the
- 20:39Speaker 2: dichotomy of like she thinks she's all that, but she's not. Yeah.
- 20:43Speaker 2: I just thought, no, Miss Piggie kind of is all that.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I said, memories of them just going yes, shot
- 20:48Speaker 1: pig as if they say, like, you're not beautiful.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Because isn't is it in Muppets Take Manhattan or whatever?
- 20:55Speaker 2: Where is it Charles Groden has got like a crush
- 20:57Speaker 2: on or something?
- 20:59Speaker 1: No, no, that's the mp Caper. Yeah, I know I
- 21:02Speaker 1: always be this picky is I won't say wow, she's
- 21:05Speaker 1: kind of hut because that's that's a Jessica Rabbit.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but now I find that really interesting. But yeah,
- 21:11Speaker 2: I wouldn't be surprised that that's the path they take
- 21:14Speaker 2: with the movie if it actually happened.
- 21:15Speaker 1: What's what's a classic tale they could do? Though?
- 21:17Speaker 2: Oh? Classic one? Well, let's see Christmas Carol Treasure.
- 21:19Speaker 1: On classic tails. Could they do the Wonker Chocolate Factory?
- 21:23Speaker 1: Could they do maybe Fuzzy Bear like Fozzy Chocolate Factory.
- 21:28Speaker 1: I know you probably do that. But and because then
- 21:31Speaker 1: you've got the various muppets. Could be the various kids
- 21:34Speaker 1: being naughty and whatnot?
- 21:35Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe something like the Three Musketeers, like or about
- 21:41Speaker 2: Robin Hood.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Yeah, okvis Robin Hood.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Yeah, this Piggy has made Marion. Yeah, who would be
- 21:48Speaker 2: the who'd be like the Sheriff of Nottingham. Then who's
- 21:50Speaker 2: the Who's traditional sort of villain in the air well,
- 21:53Speaker 2: this is where you get you know your Yeah, Michael
- 21:57Speaker 2: Caine and the Christmas Carry, Tim Curry and the Treasure
- 21:59Speaker 2: on Alan Rickman sadly no longer with us, and he
- 22:02Speaker 2: already already did share for Nottingham. But like Michael Fassbender
- 22:06Speaker 2: or Tom Hiddleston, Yeah, some English guy, it'd be him,
- 22:12Speaker 2: quote unquote some English guy, Dann. We've done it again.
- 22:16Speaker 1: It can happen. Holy Ship. Kermit's nephew is called Robin,
- 22:20Speaker 1: So you can have some sort of could Robin Robin Hood?
- 22:23Speaker 2: Why not have have from how big are you on
- 22:27Speaker 2: Robin Hood? You know sort of the is Will Scarlett
- 22:29Speaker 2: actually Robin Hood's brother, because that happened in robin Hood
- 22:31Speaker 2: Prince at Thebes. I don't know it turned out that,
- 22:34Speaker 2: you know, Christian Christian slaters. Will Scallet turned out to
- 22:37Speaker 2: be like Robin Hood's half brother.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Disney. You do Disney films like snow White, Sure you
- 22:45Speaker 1: do all those films.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Yeah, they're all public domain. Yeah, but then it'd be
- 22:48Speaker 2: good to sort of do the tie in Lion King
- 22:52Speaker 2: a land beauty and the Beast lots of films. Sure,
- 22:56Speaker 2: I'm very big. I'm kind of hot on my Robin
- 22:58Speaker 2: Hood idea.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Becausehood sort of out of it. Don't really talk
- 23:01Speaker 1: get Robin Hood.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Anymore, No, but it's it's something that keeps getting redone
- 23:05Speaker 2: all the time, and usually not to diminishing returns. But
- 23:08Speaker 2: it's like, because there's a new Robin Hood series out now, yeah,
- 23:12Speaker 2: with someone like some Australian guys that's playing the lead muppets.
- 23:16Speaker 2: We've probably had some English guy and now we've got
- 23:18Speaker 2: some Australian guy muppet.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Robin Hood is a four part mini series based on
- 23:21Speaker 1: the upt It's in Mupper comics, so I knew it
- 23:23Speaker 1: was too good to be And yeah, we have Kermit
- 23:27Speaker 1: as Robin Hood there. Okay, Sir Robin of Locksley, I
- 23:31Speaker 1: did not show for noting him as Sam the.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Robin of Frogsley.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Yeah, so anyway, make make it, make it a live
- 23:37Speaker 1: action film, live action film, and get your pals down
- 23:39Speaker 1: there on guard to write it. Yes, indeed, I know
- 23:41Speaker 1: they did the Haunted Mansion, which was for me though
- 23:43Speaker 1: at the moment the Muppets is the voice of Kermit
- 23:45Speaker 1: is so wrong at the moment, it's like you're washing
- 23:48Speaker 1: it going. This just isn't the Uppets, Like, I literally
- 23:50Speaker 1: can't do it?
- 23:51Speaker 2: How about parts of the Caribbean Treasure Island already anyway?
- 23:56Speaker 1: But I'm going with Robin Hood Ye all right, Mike
- 23:59Speaker 1: Salter Chris mus food you wish was around all year
- 24:01Speaker 1: and Christmas food you would happily never see again. Never
- 24:04Speaker 1: been a mince pie guy for Christmas pudding. I like
- 24:09Speaker 1: Christmas pudding, but it is a mince pies. Yeah. Not
- 24:13Speaker 1: a fan sweet Yeah.
- 24:15Speaker 2: I can't say that there's something that I really go
- 24:17Speaker 2: wild for but occasionally have one time that's actually not bad.
- 24:20Speaker 2: But it's like I wish they had them every all
- 24:23Speaker 2: year round.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Hot cross buns. You wish you had a war year
- 24:26Speaker 1: round esically with the variants and.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Guess what, you know, it's Christmas is going to be
- 24:32Speaker 2: done in a few days and then they're going to
- 24:34Speaker 2: put a cross buns on this ship.
- 24:36Speaker 1: What's the what's the Christmas food? I don't think of
- 24:40Speaker 1: any Christmas foods that are only around it. Like we
- 24:42Speaker 1: talked eggnog with Bill Oakley last week, did.
- 24:44Speaker 2: And finally discovered that you know, it probably does have
- 24:47Speaker 2: eggs in it, But mainly it's just like a drinkable custard.
- 24:50Speaker 1: But we don't really think we have to give you
- 24:51Speaker 1: a sugar shock. Surely we've got an Australia now we'd
- 24:53Speaker 1: have it.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Yeah you went, Yeah, if you want to sue makeabone.
- 24:55Speaker 2: If you went elderly, you'd probably find it.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Are there only like variants that come out of Christmas
- 24:59Speaker 1: time any other time?
- 25:00Speaker 2: How how many people you know sort of have turkey?
- 25:02Speaker 1: I'm going to say the frozen turkeys in the freezer,
- 25:04Speaker 1: like stocked to the brim at this time.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Yeah, but I can't think of many times that I
- 25:08Speaker 2: would have turkey throughout.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Turkey is not a roasting. It's always roast beef, roast
- 25:11Speaker 1: chicken pretty much. Yeah, you get a wooly roast chicken.
- 25:14Speaker 2: And if you're feeling kind of you know, adventures like
- 25:18Speaker 2: about some roast pork.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Yeah I don't pork anymore, but yeah, exactly, I agree. Yeah,
- 25:21Speaker 1: but the thing is the Aussie summer special is roast
- 25:25Speaker 1: turkey from the Delhi ROAs chicken from the Delhi bread
- 25:28Speaker 1: rolls like lettuce and tomato whatever.
- 25:32Speaker 2: But Christmas food you wish was all year round.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Or you happily never see again for fruit mince.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Parts, and you would never see again.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Oh I wish turkey with all you around. I mean,
- 25:42Speaker 1: well it is around all year, but I just I
- 25:45Speaker 1: should make it a year round thing. Correct stuffing, good stuffing.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Yeah, well a man bill when we when we spoke
- 25:52Speaker 2: to them, we talked. But we've got to get that
- 25:54Speaker 2: recipe off. Yeah the chestnut, one chestnut. I can nicke
- 25:57Speaker 2: have chestnuts thing.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Fuck Nikola, you make it, I'll eat it. Chris Clark
- 26:04Speaker 1: potentially for one for Nikola. Speaking of Nicola, but do
- 26:06Speaker 1: you guys prefer a white Christmas or a hot Christmas.
- 26:09Speaker 1: I've never experienced a white Christmas. I've just experienced a
- 26:12Speaker 1: cold and wet Christmas. Wasn't fun. Nicholas like great you
- 26:17Speaker 1: indoors by the fine, I'm like, yeah, me come back
- 26:20Speaker 1: yard creek, like you know when yet it's Christmas Day,
- 26:24Speaker 1: a house full of people. You know that you can
- 26:27Speaker 1: at least go outside. You go outside, have a smoke,
- 26:29Speaker 1: or you go some play some cricket, or just go
- 26:31Speaker 1: outside get some fresh air. What that's cold outside? It's
- 26:34Speaker 1: like we're inside and we're stuck.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Here with anyone. I've only ever had a couple of
- 26:40Speaker 2: white Christmases, and there's one that I remember distinctly. When
- 26:44Speaker 2: I was about fourteen or fifteen or so, we were
- 26:48Speaker 2: staying at this place called Western Manor just outside Oxford.
- 26:52Speaker 2: We lived in Oxford when I was about nine or
- 26:55Speaker 2: ten years old. We lived there for about a year
- 26:57Speaker 2: and we'd go back.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Everyone canobi right when you met everyone can?
- 27:01Speaker 2: He met him in London. Well, I didn't really meet him,
- 27:02Speaker 2: saw him across a crowded apartment store and said, getting a.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Rock caut stiff and you have to walk away. I did,
- 27:09Speaker 1: this is not the druid you're looking for it and
- 27:11Speaker 1: walked off. Hope, but it is. Should we take our
- 27:16Speaker 1: shots up and kiss? Sorry for sir.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Sir Alex looking and spituring his forced ghost in the
- 27:27Speaker 2: corners looking. I was going, you guys, you fucking guys.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Thing is, though, people listen to this haven't heard our
- 27:31Speaker 1: Erection day review yet.
- 27:32Speaker 2: That's true.
- 27:33Speaker 1: So so jump into the future, go listen to that,
- 27:37Speaker 1: then come back and listen to this, and you'll just
- 27:38Speaker 1: laugh your ass off Direction day for our south Park
- 27:40Speaker 1: podcast already.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, the upshot of that story is that
- 27:43Speaker 2: I did see sir Alginners in the department store in
- 27:46Speaker 2: London when I see him in the Flesh when I
- 27:48Speaker 2: was about ten years old, and even then had enough
- 27:50Speaker 2: now not to go up and say trying to do
- 27:52Speaker 2: Jedi mind trick, because he kind of looked like, I'm
- 27:54Speaker 2: just here to get some stuff for the grandkids. Fuck off.
- 27:57Speaker 1: No, it was at least you saw him though, that's
- 27:59Speaker 1: oh yeah, yeah in the wild.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Yeah, but we what was.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Your first thought when you saw him? We were like,
- 28:04Speaker 1: oh shit, oh we couldn't believe.
- 28:07Speaker 2: It were Yeah.
- 28:10Speaker 1: I sort of did a bit of a double days,
- 28:11Speaker 1: like really, but did you see him as Obi Wan
- 28:13Speaker 1: or did you see him as the actor?
- 28:14Speaker 2: I saw him as Allegy in this yeah, because yeah,
- 28:16Speaker 2: you just looked like your uncle. Yeah, what a big guy.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I'm sure if you went over to I'm sure. I'm
- 28:20Speaker 1: sure you'd like Winket Year or something. Hopefully, yeah, hopefully,
- 28:24Speaker 1: but that's not really never know.
- 28:26Speaker 2: We'll never know, but I'll just have that memory, like
- 28:28Speaker 2: I have this memory of Western Manor because we went
- 28:30Speaker 2: back a couple of years later. Some of my sisters
- 28:32Speaker 2: worked there as waitresses, and uh, we always had a
- 28:35Speaker 2: real appreciation for the place and we were staying in
- 28:38Speaker 2: like a little cottage on the grounds was huge. I
- 28:40Speaker 2: mean it was like Downton Abbey. Yeah, and woke up
- 28:43Speaker 2: on Christmas Day and they'd been just a snowfall overnight
- 28:46Speaker 2: and it was fucking perfect. It was exactly what you'd want.
- 28:51Speaker 2: And yeah, when it's like, oh it's cold, but snow snow.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Yeah. But after about five minutes, like I think, I'm
- 28:58Speaker 2: going back inside and I'm gonna watch doctor know a whole
- 29:04Speaker 2: bunch of stuff, And but I had and I remember
- 29:05Speaker 2: just looking at the windows.
- 29:07Speaker 1: This is perfect.
- 29:08Speaker 2: This is just ideal, and that memory is just going
- 29:11Speaker 2: to be in my head. Yeah.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Yeah, So that's a lot of it. But of course
- 29:14Speaker 1: I'm growing up in Australia, spent many many years here,
- 29:17Speaker 1: and Christmas is just synonymous with summer. The norm is,
- 29:20Speaker 1: you know, you go to the cricket on Boxing Day
- 29:22Speaker 1: and well, yeah, all you can outside a barbecue.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Jump in the pool, or go to the beach or
- 29:27Speaker 2: something like that.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Blue has Christmas Swim this episode, Yeah correct.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:30Speaker 1: So for me though, it's weird because growing up we
- 29:33Speaker 1: watched so much American media. But I never once thought
- 29:36Speaker 1: I can I never once thought as a kid Why
- 29:38Speaker 1: is there snow outside at Christmas time? No, every Christmas
- 29:40Speaker 1: special we watch it's always snow outside. But I never
- 29:43Speaker 1: thought that.
- 29:43Speaker 2: That's the thing. America in the UK did a really
- 29:46Speaker 2: great job of trying to export the whole. I mean,
- 29:48Speaker 2: everyone knows the lyrics. I'm dreaming of a word Christmas.
- 29:51Speaker 2: But dah, da da dah. I don't think we ever
- 29:53Speaker 2: felt like, oh shit, we're missing out by not going
- 29:55Speaker 2: out and throwing snowballs at each other on Christmas stuff.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I never thought that. I think it something Australia did
- 30:00Speaker 2: really well. It was like, no, you're in Australia, and
- 30:03Speaker 2: in Australia at summertime, and and Christmas is summertime.
- 30:05Speaker 1: It's going to pool and play cricket, and yeah, well
- 30:07Speaker 1: that's about Yeah.
- 30:08Speaker 2: So Chris, I guess the answer is for Dan or no,
- 30:12Speaker 2: we prefer a hot Christmas your neck? What do you think?
- 30:17Speaker 1: What's mister Hank?
- 30:17Speaker 2: You think.
- 30:22Speaker 1: That is not what I asked you, mister Hanking. Come on,
- 30:26Speaker 1: Brad Mull, I know that's different question, Brad mull. He's
- 30:32Speaker 1: got another question here, Brad Mull. It may have been
- 30:34Speaker 1: discussed in a previous episode, but why start the Simpsons
- 30:37Speaker 1: recaps at season seven, there's some classic episodes from earlier seasons.
- 30:41Speaker 1: I'm guessing they are left for special look back episodes.
- 30:44Speaker 2: What bread was my understanding that these were Christmas questions? Also,
- 30:48Speaker 2: why's that the well? I don't know it. Did Brad
- 30:50Speaker 2: start listening when I started on the show.
- 30:52Speaker 1: When he started in season ten? Does he know there's
- 30:56Speaker 1: a whole library of episodes out there?
- 30:57Speaker 2: Bred, Brad, you might have considered becoming a patron and
- 31:01Speaker 2: you'll get access to.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Well is a patron?
- 31:04Speaker 2: I'm so confused, Brad, you might want to go be
- 31:06Speaker 2: a upper tier patron.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Why it's up the Simpsons recaps at season seven? I
- 31:10Speaker 1: don't know.
- 31:10Speaker 2: There's plenty of episodes before season seven. And that's our
- 31:16Speaker 2: Christmas gift to you, Brad, the information that there are

- 32:34Speaker 1: Revisit the episodes, correct, Yeah, yes, John Looney let's be
- 32:38Speaker 1: a grinch looking back. Is there anyone in your past
- 32:40Speaker 1: that you would go back and give them a terrible gift?
- 32:43Speaker 1: Maybe revenge or for any other.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Reason, John, there's not the season for this kind of
- 32:49Speaker 2: revenge based thinking.
- 32:50Speaker 1: But is that just fun? Though?
- 32:52Speaker 2: Well? True dish best serve cold.
- 32:55Speaker 1: I take gifts back from people and deserve them.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Person you would go back and give them terrible gift?
- 33:01Speaker 1: How did you give your terrible gifts? Like their their
- 33:03Speaker 1: mother's head and them, Yeah, their parents.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Maybe just you know, put some ship in a plastic bag,
- 33:10Speaker 2: in a paper bag and lighted on fire on their doorstep.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Yeah, buy them like season fifteen of the Simpsons on DVD.
- 33:15Speaker 2: And give it, or you get them some that have
- 33:18Speaker 2: got the regular box and someone got like the head.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Boxes, you get the head shaped box.
- 33:23Speaker 2: How can I put this on my shelves? There we go? Yeah,
- 33:27Speaker 2: I think that's the best answer, John. I think we'd
- 33:29Speaker 2: give them the DVD boxes that are poorly shaped and
- 33:34Speaker 2: you can't put on your shelf.
- 33:36Speaker 1: It. It was such an era though, wasn't it of
- 33:37Speaker 1: novelty boxes?
- 33:38Speaker 2: Oh god, yeah, I got I'm had much shair of them.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and you look at that and goes, why did
- 33:42Speaker 1: we do it? But you see the picture on like
- 33:44Speaker 1: easy DVD and what that looks fucking cool? Like there
- 33:47Speaker 1: was a there was a feature on a collection where
- 33:48Speaker 1: it was like all the DVD's were inside Bender's head
- 33:51Speaker 1: and it looks great, But where the fuck do you
- 33:52Speaker 1: display that?
- 33:55Speaker 2: This is what an ungrateful prick I was. When I
- 33:58Speaker 2: was reviewing movies and TV shows and things like that,
- 34:04Speaker 2: I had an inn with someone at twentieth Century Fox
- 34:07Speaker 2: and their Home Entertainment division and this, and they brought
- 34:09Speaker 2: out the first for alien movies and they did it
- 34:13Speaker 2: in like an alien egg kind of thing, and I said, wow,
- 34:16Speaker 2: I really love these movies. I hate this set. Can
- 34:18Speaker 2: I return this to you? And you're given to me
- 34:20Speaker 2: like a regular box?
- 34:21Speaker 1: Please you?
- 34:22Speaker 2: When you did this, no, probably like thirty something who
- 34:26Speaker 2: got a fort the people at Fox. Oh I see
- 34:29Speaker 2: what you mean. Yeah, it was a primo thing. And
- 34:31Speaker 2: it wasn't It wasn't like a Christmas I see here
- 34:32Speaker 2: the Alien anthology. It was like, I just want it
- 34:35Speaker 2: in a box. I can put it on my shirt.
- 34:37Speaker 1: That's a cool fucking box though, Man, that's a real
- 34:40Speaker 1: cool box.
- 34:41Speaker 2: You're the one the egg shaped. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I
- 34:45Speaker 2: don't like that.
- 34:46Speaker 1: It is there. I know it.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Man, I gave it back.
- 34:50Speaker 1: You didn'tly gave it back. You realized what you could
- 34:52Speaker 1: have sold it for. Now this one just sold for
- 34:55Speaker 1: eleven hundred and twenty five YUS dollars.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Probably could have paid it up. Man, had a nice
- 34:57Speaker 2: chunk of my mortgage.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Can you take this back? I don't want this ship.
- 35:02Speaker 1: I just want the discs?
- 35:03Speaker 2: Yeah, can I there's a there's a regular version of
- 35:06Speaker 2: it's kind of the regular version, please. Yeah. I wasn't
- 35:09Speaker 2: thinking straight. Kendy g G.
- 35:13Speaker 1: What would your dream Christmas vacation be hanging out with
- 35:16Speaker 1: Katy G. I think that's what it would be, Kady
- 35:19Speaker 1: GB somewhere on the coast, on the coast, Yeah, having
- 35:22Speaker 1: a swim dream Christmas vacation. Look, yeah, part of me
- 35:26Speaker 1: I mentioned that Christmas memory of Christs might not be
- 35:29Speaker 1: with the family at the time. Take that out of
- 35:30Speaker 1: the equation, because we always want to be of our
- 35:32Speaker 1: family on Christmas. But if it's you're gonna be with
- 35:34Speaker 1: your family, where with the dream vacation be? If it
- 35:36Speaker 1: was just me sort of rolling solo or with always
- 35:39Speaker 1: or whatever always. I like the idea of something tropical,
- 35:43Speaker 1: idea of it being like Disneyland, that kind of thing
- 35:45Speaker 1: Christmas time. I think kids, the kids while they're young,
- 35:48Speaker 1: like something like that would be cool.
- 35:50Speaker 2: No, I think I like the idea of a beach,
- 35:51Speaker 2: but somewhere, but a beach with shade.
- 35:53Speaker 1: A hustle and bustle of it, And they wouldn't be
- 35:55Speaker 1: fun though that You want the relaxing vibe of just
- 35:57Speaker 1: being by the water. Yeah, but we get the literally
- 36:00Speaker 1: we have that whenever we want.
- 36:02Speaker 2: That's true, that's true.
- 36:04Speaker 1: But you know, maybe we're living the dream.
- 36:07Speaker 2: This is our dream Christmas vacation, Katie Well, tell us
- 36:10Speaker 2: about yours and the in the comments past.
- 36:12Speaker 1: It would be fun to go to the theme parks
- 36:14Speaker 1: over with the kids. I'm looking for to do it. Yeah, absolutely,
- 36:18Speaker 1: uh Andy d do Australian Christmas cars depict a sun
- 36:21Speaker 1: drenched Santa sipping mehitos on the beach. What other strange
- 36:24Speaker 1: seasonal reversals are you privy to when it comes to
- 36:26Speaker 1: traditionally wintry Christmas imagery.
- 36:28Speaker 2: I think we do see a lot of Santa in
- 36:30Speaker 2: board shorts and things like that on the beach. Now.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know about mahidos. So I think we
- 36:34Speaker 1: probably we never used to be probably be like a
- 36:36Speaker 1: VB or something. It used to always be like the
- 36:38Speaker 1: traditional like santy with he suit on. Now it's like, no,
- 36:40Speaker 1: it's Australia mate. Sanda's on in a dinghy. Yeah, he's
- 36:43Speaker 1: got his he's got his big beard and all that
- 36:46Speaker 1: kind of stuff. And there's a bit of dos on.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it's probably got his nice red jacket on or something.
- 36:51Speaker 2: But he's probably got boardies and thongs.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Yeah, we've got the dancing Santa. We've seen the dancing center.
- 36:54Speaker 2: In our life, I have not. We'll do that after this,
- 36:57Speaker 2: after we record it.
- 36:58Speaker 1: This life stized dancing Santa. And he's wearing of course
- 37:01Speaker 1: you too. He's wearing a beach shirt as a sleeveless shirt,
- 37:05Speaker 1: like you know, like a dress shirt. It's like a
- 37:07Speaker 1: beachy colors and he's wearing board shorts and thongs.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Delightful, delightful, delightful. One of the strange seasonal reversals. Are
- 37:14Speaker 2: you proving to when it comes through traditionally? I think,
- 37:17Speaker 2: as we said, Andy, I mean, yeah, we're used to do.
- 37:20Speaker 1: What you do in summer is what we do at
- 37:22Speaker 1: Christmas time. Basically.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Yeah, essentially it's hit the beach or you know, play
- 37:27Speaker 2: games outside and.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Literally go like Boxing Day and Christmas is literally you know,
- 37:31Speaker 1: Christmas he spent with the family. Boxing Day, you get
- 37:33Speaker 1: out to go the beach or whatever.
- 37:34Speaker 2: There's not rugging up, it's stripping down. Yeah, Brad Muller's
- 37:38Speaker 2: chimed in here. Unless it's from a novelty saw. No,
- 37:40Speaker 2: they all have him in snow or a tree and
- 37:42Speaker 2: snow is seen through the room's window.
- 37:46Speaker 1: I think stories are really starting to sort of Australia
- 37:48Speaker 1: Australian Christmas because the tourists coming into like we want
- 37:51Speaker 1: to prove that we were in Australia for Christmas.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Was He Santa? Was He?
- 37:54Speaker 1: Santa? Ian astley favorite least favorite Christmas song? Though Nikola
- 37:59Speaker 1: loves this song, right, I'm gonna get a lot of
- 38:00Speaker 1: hate this here because I know it's beloved in the UK.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Last Christmas I can take or leave it. I just
- 38:07Speaker 1: I don't need to hear that song again. Ever, some
- 38:10Speaker 1: songs just don't work for you, and that one just
- 38:12Speaker 1: does not work for me. I don't need to hear
- 38:13Speaker 1: Last Christmas ever again.
- 38:15Speaker 2: I know there's a story to I mean not. I mean,
- 38:17Speaker 2: not a story behind the song, but there's a story
- 38:19Speaker 2: in the song. And there's like, is it a Christmas song?
- 38:22Speaker 2: It's Christmas in it? Well, it's it's the Christmas, it's
- 38:25Speaker 2: the March being I'm proud of Christmas songs and that
- 38:27Speaker 2: you know, does it take plays at Christmas or is
- 38:29Speaker 2: it Christmas?
- 38:29Speaker 1: It was just you know, I mean, what's George Michael going,
- 38:32Speaker 1: what makes money Christmas song? I'm gonna write a love song,
- 38:34Speaker 1: just say christ you didn't break my heart at any
- 38:36Speaker 1: It was that Christmas.
- 38:38Speaker 2: The most Christmas thing about it is that he gave
- 38:40Speaker 2: Andrew Ridgeley a like co credit or something and there
- 38:42Speaker 2: and for Riginal is just like, yeah, kitching, is it
- 38:46Speaker 2: my least what's your least least favorite? My least favorite is?
- 38:50Speaker 1: I don't like the Little Drummer boy. I was talking like,
- 38:54Speaker 1: I'm talking like, well, are we doing mainstream? Yeah? I
- 38:56Speaker 1: don't know, bum bum yeah. Of the carols, I can
- 39:00Speaker 1: just take a leave. I'm like, ah, I don't need
- 39:02Speaker 1: to hear any of these carols. True, but there is
- 39:04Speaker 1: the I think I probably said the same thing last
- 39:07Speaker 1: Christmas time if we were asked about Christmas song. But yeah,
- 39:09Speaker 1: I don't know the Christmas Carol goes. I love that
- 39:14Speaker 1: one of the bells. It is actually, yeah, least favorite
- 39:19Speaker 1: Christmas song. I won't say it's all I want it
- 39:21Speaker 1: all I want for Christmas because that's a bit sort
- 39:23Speaker 1: of it's a and it does well for the catchy song.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, at least favorite Christmas song.
- 39:30Speaker 1: I don't know, but i'll I'll tell you one that
- 39:33Speaker 1: I'm being a fan of Paul McCartney's Christmas Time for.
- 39:35Speaker 2: Christmas Time you think I am. I think I'm not.
- 39:37Speaker 2: Not I think I am. You are, Okay, Yeah, I
- 39:39Speaker 2: think it's really nice. I don't rate it that much.
- 39:41Speaker 2: I mean, I don't shocker. The Beatles have written better songs,
- 39:46Speaker 2: most of the Beatles. It's just Paul McCarty. Well, Paul
- 39:48Speaker 2: McCartney has win written better song.
- 39:50Speaker 1: I think for me, it's just like it just feels
- 39:51Speaker 1: like Paumac can't saying they went Christmas jingle, let's just
- 39:54Speaker 1: write one now. But it just feels like it feels
- 39:56Speaker 1: like it feels so orchestrated that song.
- 39:58Speaker 2: I don't know to mean, it feels like like they're
- 40:01Speaker 2: just hanging out and just talking about what's going on.
- 40:02Speaker 2: It just it doesn't. I suppose it is calculated to
- 40:05Speaker 2: some degree, but it doesn't feel as calculated, something like
- 40:08Speaker 2: a ball. All I want is Christmas, simply wonderful Christmas.
- 40:14Speaker 1: If someone did someone made a cover but it was
- 40:17Speaker 1: sounding like the Beatles actually sang it. I'm like Revolver
- 40:21Speaker 1: or something. It actually sounds like a Beatles song.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Okay. Interesting.

- 40:49Speaker 2: Have been watching The Beatles anthone, Did you ever watch that?
- 40:51Speaker 1: I started watching it and I was I was too tired.
- 40:53Speaker 1: I was like, oh, this isn't the kind of documentary
- 40:54Speaker 1: I thought it was going to be. I'm gonna have
- 40:55Speaker 1: to be switched on for this. Yeah. Yeah, it's just
- 40:57Speaker 1: like previous interviews.
- 40:58Speaker 2: I love it.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I'm not.
- 41:00Speaker 2: As big a Beatles out as you, but I'm telling
- 41:03Speaker 2: their life through their own words. Yeah. I just adore it.
- 41:05Speaker 2: I remember I got it on DVD years ago, maybe
- 41:08Speaker 2: like a decade or so ago. I's think I should
- 41:10Speaker 2: learn more about the Beatles than it was on Sailor
- 41:12Speaker 2: JB on Boxing Day and I just mainlined it was like, wow,
- 41:17Speaker 2: do you mean the CDs? Know I'm talking about the documentary?
- 41:20Speaker 1: Is that old? Yeah?
- 41:22Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's been remastered and I think they've got
- 41:23Speaker 2: a new episode.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Oh see, I thought this was new. I've never seen
- 41:28Speaker 1: this before because the Battles Anthology was like a collection
- 41:31Speaker 1: of CDs. Yeah, was there a movies? It's the documentary
- 41:35Speaker 1: about came with it? Okay, I never saw that of
- 41:37Speaker 1: it came with it. I got it separately, Okay, I
- 41:40Speaker 1: never saw that. The CDs was like, you know, rare
- 41:42Speaker 1: B sides and things like that. Recordings.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Yeah, on Disney plus Friend of the Pod.
- 41:47Speaker 1: What's your favorite Christmas song? My favorite Christmas song mine
- 41:50Speaker 1: is Tom Petty's Christmas All Over Again. I fucking love
- 41:53Speaker 1: that song.
- 41:57Speaker 2: One by Darling Love. This woman named Darlan Love and
- 42:00Speaker 2: she's got a song called Christmas Baby.
- 42:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:04Speaker 2: I only knew Darling loves a Marvel singer. I really
