- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to bill Handle on demand from kf I
- 0:03Speaker 1: AM six forty and now Handle on the news. Ladies
- 0:15Speaker 1: and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Jf I AM six forty Bill Handle.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Here.
- 0:32Speaker 4: It is a Monday morning, July thirteenth, and we are
- 0:37Speaker 4: well well into summer. It gets dark very late, and
- 0:41Speaker 4: we all go to bed fairly early, so we all put.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Us sleep in the nighttime. At night, we go to
- 0:51Speaker 2: sleep in the daytime.
- 0:52Speaker 3: What I mean in the nighttime.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Yeah, we got to sleep in the nighttime, which is
- 0:55Speaker 4: really daytime. Amy, you don't speak handle. Neil understood everything
- 1:03Speaker 4: I said there because he speaks flu in hand.
- 1:05Speaker 5: Yes, he meant.
- 1:07Speaker 6: My nurse brought me some soft oatmeal this morning and
- 1:11Speaker 6: it was yummy.
- 1:13Speaker 4: It's exactly what I meant to say. Okay, let's oh
- 1:19Speaker 4: talking about soft oatmeal. What are you drinking or eating? Amy,
- 1:23Speaker 4: soft oatmeal? Soft oatmeal. But that's in a cup. It's
- 1:26Speaker 4: in a cup, okay, where you drink coffee out of.
- 1:28Speaker 4: So that's fair. They don't have bulls here, No, they don't.
- 1:33Speaker 4: I'm surprised they have cups here.
- 1:37Speaker 3: We ran out of them over for the July weekend.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Yeah, and they're not going to replace him, and so
- 1:41Speaker 4: we've got where they have. They didn't have aluminum foil,
- 1:44Speaker 4: which used to have. We used to have saran wrap,
- 1:46Speaker 4: which we don't have anymore. Bowls are gone. I didn't
- 1:49Speaker 4: see any plates there either. There there was some plastic
- 1:54Speaker 4: cutlery there. There used to be a pretty good knife
- 1:57Speaker 4: to cut other than those plastic pieces of crap.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Those are gone.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Yeah, it's welcome to whoever fills fulfills whatever contract that
- 2:11Speaker 4: is being breached every second. All right, Amy Neil, good morning,
- 2:16Speaker 4: good morning. All right, Will, all right, what does that
- 2:19Speaker 4: T shirt say, Ride the D It's oh, it's a
- 2:23Speaker 4: new extension for the metro burd Yeah, I thought I said,
- 2:30Speaker 4: I thought it really said. I first saw it as
- 2:32Speaker 4: all ride the M for some reason. Okay, yeah, thinking
- 2:36Speaker 4: that word was mustache, But no, it is.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Uh.
- 2:40Speaker 6: It was a brilliant campaign. Actually, I don't think any
- 2:43Speaker 6: of us got past the fact that the D train
- 2:47Speaker 6: is now up and running.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Okay, very exciting.
- 2:52Speaker 7: Cono, good morning, Good morning, Bill, And I have to
- 2:55Speaker 7: say real quick, my grandma turns ninety six today, So
- 2:58Speaker 7: happy birthday to my Grahma, who's been a Bill Handle
- 3:01Speaker 7: fan for ninety years.
- 3:04Speaker 4: No kidding, you know. I am getting so many people lately.
- 3:10Speaker 4: I don't know why, mainly because I live in Orange County.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Maybe because we do a lot of listening in Orange
- 3:16Speaker 4: County to this show and not one of them is
- 3:20Speaker 4: under the age of eighty. The reason we have lost
- 3:25Speaker 4: listenership in the last five years is they've died. Listeners
- 3:30Speaker 4: have straight out died. Although the last ratings book we
- 3:34Speaker 4: are pretty you know, it's pretty impressive. I have to
- 3:37Speaker 4: tell you, not bad. Oh there's Anne running around someplace.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I don't know. She's just up and left.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Tono said, Cono just said, you're welcome.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Oh yeah, thank you.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Okay, I have to share with you over on Saturday night,
- 3:53Speaker 4: I went to the pageant and the Masters and it
- 3:56Speaker 4: is if you haven't gone to the pageant yet, for
- 3:58Speaker 4: people have not gone to the pageant and we live
- 4:00Speaker 4: in southern California, it's something you do not want to miss.
- 4:05Speaker 2: It's it's at Laguna Beach.
- 4:08Speaker 4: It is something that exists no place else in the world,
- 4:12Speaker 4: and it's people who are in paintings. But the way
- 4:16Speaker 4: they do it is unlike anything you have ever seen.
- 4:20Speaker 4: It is so worthwhile going. If you've been there, you
- 4:23Speaker 4: know what I'm talking about. If you haven't give yourself
- 4:26Speaker 4: a treat. And it's not insanely priced. So it's famous
- 4:32Speaker 4: paintings and sculptures with real people. It's just it's almost
- 4:37Speaker 4: impossible to make up the light and all of it
- 4:40Speaker 4: is insane. Also there's a lot of live this time around.
- 4:45Speaker 4: They're the greatest Masters of all and they're part of
- 4:49Speaker 4: the show. And you have Michael Agelo and Andy Warhol
- 4:53Speaker 4: and Norman Norman Rockwell are in it talking about their paintings.
- 4:58Speaker 4: It's just it's insane. Anyway, it's through September fourth. You
- 5:03Speaker 4: want to call, So if you want to purchase tickets
- 5:05Speaker 4: and it's well well well worth it, go to fo
- 5:10Speaker 4: A po mfoapom dot com. I don't know why it's that,
- 5:15Speaker 4: or just google pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach
- 5:21Speaker 4: and you'll you'll go. Also, they all they end with,
- 5:26Speaker 4: which they've done since nineteen forty seven, The Last Supper,
- 5:30Speaker 4: the Tableau of the Last Supper, and Neil, you and
- 5:33Speaker 4: I have been invited to be in the Last Supper.
- 5:40Speaker 4: And these people have to stay completely silent, I mean still,
- 5:44Speaker 4: they can't move, they can't breathe for a couple of
- 5:47Speaker 4: minutes while the narrator describes a painting.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I am going to sneeze.
- 5:54Speaker 5: That's the least of our worries with you.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Anyways.
- 5:58Speaker 4: We have been invited to be in the Last Supper
- 6:02Speaker 4: next year, and what I'd like to do is do
- 6:05Speaker 4: some kind of KFI event. I'm going to put something
- 6:09Speaker 4: together with you, and I don't know.
- 6:11Speaker 5: You're going to be Judas for sure.
- 6:13Speaker 4: I don't know if they'll let me be Judas. I would,
- 6:16Speaker 4: I would Jesus. We can't be Jesus. That's out of
- 6:21Speaker 4: the question.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Uh hello, I know, I know. But in the in
- 6:27Speaker 2: the the.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Demonstration, in the tableau, if you will, I'm losing weight.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Yeah, we have a lot of Yeah, but how about
- 6:37Speaker 2: the hair part.
- 6:39Speaker 5: That's what wigs are for.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a lot of it. Anyway.
- 6:42Speaker 6: Curious with them doing Andy Warhol. Did they paint people
- 6:47Speaker 6: like a Campbell soup can or No?
- 6:50Speaker 2: No, No.
- 6:50Speaker 4: What they do is they have part of it is
- 6:55Speaker 4: they just flash photographs of art pieces up on the screen,
- 7:00Speaker 4: which is the whole front of it.
- 7:01Speaker 2: They turn it into a screen.
- 7:02Speaker 4: It's insane, and then paintings as part of it and
- 7:07Speaker 4: Andy Warhol is simply one of the characters that comes
- 7:09Speaker 4: out and talks about as art as Michaelangelo, and as
- 7:14Speaker 4: does Winslow Homer and just a bunch of them. Anyway,
- 7:19Speaker 4: that is something you truly, truly don't want to miss.
- 7:24Speaker 2: It's tremendous.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Okay, tickets still available, and you're under the stars, and
- 7:30Speaker 4: there are a couple of things you have to bring.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Bring something warm, Bring a cushion if you can. Those
- 7:34Speaker 4: seats tend to be pretty hard. And bring a pair
- 7:36Speaker 4: of binoculars so you can see really up close. You
- 7:40Speaker 4: can see what's going on, because you want to be
- 7:43Speaker 4: basically almost on the stage to see the intricacy, but
- 7:47Speaker 4: you're sitting fairly back to really enjoy it. Okay, we're done.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Let's do it, guys, it's time for handle On the
- 7:55Speaker 4: news on this Monday morning, Amy neil Me lead story,
- 8:04Speaker 4: Lindsey Graham completely dead. He died of what they're saying
- 8:10Speaker 4: a terror in his a order because he had arterial
- 8:15Speaker 4: sclerotic cardiovascular disease. He had heart disease, a lot of
- 8:22Speaker 4: building building up of I think plaque and the arteries,
- 8:26Speaker 4: and that is connected to the tearing of the tearing
- 8:32Speaker 4: of the artery, and that's caused by high blood pressure.
- 8:35Speaker 4: And it's all you can do is measure high blood
- 8:37Speaker 4: pressure whether or not that happens.
- 8:39Speaker 5: The conspiracies are already flowing, by the way.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Yeah, well, here's the part that I don't understand. It's
- 8:44Speaker 4: a medical issue, right, it's real simple. Cash Patel has
- 8:49Speaker 4: announced the FBI is investigating.
- 8:53Speaker 2: What is that about.
- 8:55Speaker 4: The FBI is investigating anyways, me up at seven o'clock
- 9:01Speaker 4: Lindsey Graham, who actually had a storied career one of
- 9:06Speaker 4: the giants of the Senate and then drank the kool
- 9:10Speaker 4: aid and became a Donald Trump acolyte, supporter and sycophant.
- 9:18Speaker 4: And we'll talk more about that at seven o'clock.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Control is key. The US and Iran are both saying
- 9:28Speaker 3: we control the Strait of Hormuz. This after the latest
- 9:32Speaker 3: round of attacks, which were sparked by Iran hitting a
- 9:36Speaker 3: container ship on Sunday in the Strait of Hormuz off
- 9:40Speaker 3: the coast of Oman. Us responded by firing on Iranian
- 9:46Speaker 3: positions about one hundred and forty strikes, and then Iran
- 9:50Speaker 3: fired back, firing missiles off at Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain.
- 9:55Speaker 3: President Trump is this morning, saying that the US will
- 9:58Speaker 3: be guardians of this straight.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Hang on, I'm reconnecting my uh my camera, hoping that
- 10:11Speaker 4: would help.
- 10:14Speaker 5: It doesn't help us. It's fine, Well it helps me.
- 10:16Speaker 2: What does it say? It just said something. I don't
- 10:18Speaker 2: know what the hell it said?
- 10:20Speaker 4: Uh, asked to hold on it says, asked to unmute.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Let me see if that worked. Did that work? Talk
- 10:27Speaker 2: to me?
- 10:28Speaker 3: No, we can hear you.
- 10:32Speaker 5: We can hear you to do.
- 10:34Speaker 4: With ye, I can only hear you through. Yeah, that's
- 10:38Speaker 4: all I can do.
- 10:39Speaker 5: Is people don't know the difference.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Yeah, it's all screwed up. And I don't want to
- 10:48Speaker 4: wake up.
- 10:49Speaker 5: Lindsay so, oh, I wouldn't want to either.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't want to wake up to me.
- 10:58Speaker 5: Hey, buddy, why don't we go to a break.
- 11:00Speaker 4: It's time, you know what You're right, Let's go to
- 11:03Speaker 4: a break and we'll figure this out.
- 11:04Speaker 6: We've talked about this, of course before. This bipartisan bill
- 11:08Speaker 6: designed to make homes more affordable for we the people
- 11:11Speaker 6: here in America.
- 11:13Speaker 5: It is now law.
- 11:15Speaker 6: The thing that's different about this is it has no
- 11:18Speaker 6: signature from President Donald Trump. So supporters called the twenty
- 11:23Speaker 6: first Century Road to Housing Act, the most comprehensive housing
- 11:28Speaker 6: reform in at least thirty years. So it limits corporate investors, yay,
- 11:35Speaker 6: I can't stand that who own more than three hundred
- 11:38Speaker 6: and fifty homes from purchasing additional properties. It increases access
- 11:45Speaker 6: to small dollar mortgages for lower income buyers. I mean,
- 11:48Speaker 6: it's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but
- 11:51Speaker 6: it is a step forward. And the President chose in
- 11:56Speaker 6: protest to not sign bill and because of the Save
- 12:03Speaker 6: America Act.
- 12:03Speaker 2: And yeah, yeah, there's a lot.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Of politics involved in this, and I'll talk about what
- 12:08Speaker 4: it does, and it sounds better than it is.
- 12:13Speaker 2: It's a lot of nothing.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Burger in there, but I'll jousting at at seven twenty
- 12:18Speaker 4: this morning.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Still haven't seen him, but US Senator Mitch McConnell has
- 12:26Speaker 3: released a statement. It came out yesterday. McConnell hasn't been
- 12:31Speaker 3: seen for almost a month. He was in the hospital
- 12:36Speaker 3: and now in his statement, he says that he has
- 12:38Speaker 3: had a battery of tests as doctors are trying to
- 12:41Speaker 3: figure out what led him to fall in his house.
- 12:45Speaker 3: He apparently was unconscious when he was taken to the
- 12:48Speaker 3: hospital almost a month ago. He said that folks of
- 12:51Speaker 3: my generation often hesitate to share their vulnerability when it
- 12:55Speaker 3: comes to growing older. He says, even in the public eye,
- 12:59Speaker 3: I feel that same in stinct. I can't help it.
- 13:01Speaker 3: He's now in a rehabilitation center. Won't be returning to
- 13:05Speaker 3: the Senator, the Senate quite yet, he said, on the
- 13:08Speaker 3: advice of his doctors. He's dealing with a mild case
- 13:11Speaker 3: of pneumonia. Apparently.
- 13:13Speaker 4: Did you see the photo of him in his hospital
- 13:17Speaker 4: bed or at home? That photo is really impressive. It
- 13:23Speaker 4: looks like a photo taken of Bernie on a weekend.
- 13:27Speaker 4: Oh boy, it's pretty It's pretty impressive.
- 13:31Speaker 2: It really is.
- 13:32Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, eighty four.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Is eighty four.
- 13:35Speaker 4: And he gave up, and he gave up his majority
- 13:40Speaker 4: position to Fune and he didn't have to. Well, he
- 13:44Speaker 4: probably would have like Nancy Pelosi gave up her speakership
- 13:48Speaker 4: of the House to Hakim Jeffries. You know, do we
- 13:53Speaker 4: want people in their eighties? Well, clearly we want a president. Well,
- 13:56Speaker 4: let me ask you if President Trump could run again,
- 14:01Speaker 4: If he could, of course, there's going to be a
- 14:02Speaker 4: move for it.
- 14:03Speaker 2: He would be eighty two.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Do you think he could be re elected or do
- 14:08Speaker 4: you think even supporters say he's a little bit old
- 14:12Speaker 4: or a lot old.
- 14:13Speaker 6: I don't think he's going to make a run for it.
- 14:15Speaker 6: I think people will talk about it.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Oh no, he can't make a run for it. No, no,
- 14:19Speaker 4: of course not. And he's a realist, because are he
- 14:23Speaker 4: jokes about it? But no, he's a realist. But all
- 14:25Speaker 4: I'm saying is, do you vote for someone that old?
- 14:29Speaker 4: Although there have been senators who were in their nineties
- 14:33Speaker 4: that were reelected.
- 14:34Speaker 5: Why do we do that? Why don't we put limits
- 14:37Speaker 5: on these things?
- 14:37Speaker 2: Good point?
- 14:39Speaker 4: How about putting limits on Supreme Court justices? He just died, naturally,
- 14:45Speaker 4: there are limits on California justices when they reach a
- 14:49Speaker 4: certain age.
- 14:50Speaker 2: They don't stop being judges. They just move.
- 14:53Speaker 4: They're just not given any they're not given any complex
- 14:57Speaker 4: cases or cases that would go too long. So and
- 15:01Speaker 4: I don't know what that age is, and I think
- 15:02Speaker 4: that's mandatory.
- 15:04Speaker 3: But how do you set something? I mean, like Ruth
- 15:07Speaker 3: Bader Gibbensburg, she was smart as a whip until she died.
- 15:11Speaker 4: I understand, But you say, you either set a point
- 15:14Speaker 4: or you don't. You if someone has a position for
- 15:20Speaker 4: life and it's a good buck too, justices make two
- 15:23Speaker 4: fifty two sixty something along those line are two hundred
- 15:26Speaker 4: and eighty.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Thousand dollars and they can't throw you out.
- 15:32Speaker 4: You're there forever. So should there be a mandatory age
- 15:35Speaker 4: like pilots used to be used to be sixty Now
- 15:40Speaker 4: I think it's sixty five.
- 15:42Speaker 5: There's other government workers, even Wayne Resnik, who was, you know,
- 15:48Speaker 5: a government worker. He had to retire by fifty six.
- 15:51Speaker 5: I have FBI agent friends that had to do the
- 15:53Speaker 5: same thing. There are limits on certain government roles. Right
- 16:00Speaker 5: to World Cup, still talking till the nineteenth. Everybody is watching.
- 16:05Speaker 5: I can hear it through my walls. They're everywhere.
- 16:13Speaker 6: Okay, So this is the first World Cup ever with
- 16:17Speaker 6: the semi final spots occupied by the top four teams
- 16:22Speaker 6: entering the World Cup. So you've got France at number one,
- 16:25Speaker 6: Argentina at number two, Spain is third, England is fourth,
- 16:30Speaker 6: and d to the four global powers. They're buoyed by
- 16:33Speaker 6: their superstars that everybody's talking about.
- 16:37Speaker 5: Kind of an interesting way to end.
- 16:39Speaker 6: I mean, I know Mexico's out, Canada's out, we're out
- 16:44Speaker 6: on but.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Still it's going to be insane if it's Argentina is
- 16:51Speaker 4: in there. It's going to go nuts because of Messi.
- 16:55Speaker 4: I just saw if you are have Netflix, I just
- 16:57Speaker 4: saw a couple of documentaries on Messi which really interesting.
- 17:02Speaker 4: He came to Miami. They brought him to Miami, and
- 17:06Speaker 4: he has exploded the interest in soccer, as has the
- 17:11Speaker 4: World Cup. I mean, soccer is becoming a huge thing.
- 17:14Speaker 4: It used to be eh, you know, sort of if
- 17:16Speaker 4: you had two thousand people show up. They now fill
- 17:19Speaker 4: up stadiums of sixty seventy thousand people easily, especially for
- 17:24Speaker 4: championship game. It's become that level fun to watch.
- 17:29Speaker 2: You know.
- 17:29Speaker 4: I used to be bored silly watching soccer. I never
- 17:33Speaker 4: would and you know what I found out, I'm still
- 17:36Speaker 4: bored silly watching soccer.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Well, South Africa is really from another loss. Of course,
- 17:42Speaker 3: they were playing in the World Cup here just a
- 17:45Speaker 3: couple of weeks ago, got knocked out after getting to
- 17:49Speaker 3: the knockout stage, and now we're getting worried that they're
- 17:53Speaker 3: midfielder for teams South Africa. Jaden Adams, who just played
- 17:57Speaker 3: at the World Cup played Sofi Stadium, has died. He
- 18:00Speaker 3: was twenty five.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 18:03Speaker 3: South African football has lost one of its brightest young talents.
- 18:08Speaker 3: That's according to Gayton Mackenzie, South Africa's Minister of Sport,
- 18:12Speaker 3: Arts and Culture. Adams helped South Africa get the World
- 18:16Speaker 3: or get to the World Cup knockout stage for the
- 18:18Speaker 3: very first time. They're not saying how he died or anything,
- 18:22Speaker 3: just that he died died.
- 18:24Speaker 6: Yeah, all right, let's move into diarrhea, shall we?
- 18:30Speaker 5: A cyclose s bories.
- 18:34Speaker 6: Cyclose sporyis That's what I'm going with, is bad. It
- 18:41Speaker 6: comes from food's cyclospora is the outbreak that we're having
- 18:46Speaker 6: right now, growing more and more dealing here in America.
- 18:52Speaker 6: It's highly lasting. It's a parasitic infection and it is
- 18:58Speaker 6: causing issue is at least with restaurants to having to
- 19:03Speaker 6: think about how they're washing their produce and like some
- 19:06Speaker 6: of them even changing their menus just to give people
- 19:10Speaker 6: piece of mind. And this is a hard thing to
- 19:15Speaker 6: do because it deals with tainted water or possible akal
- 19:21Speaker 6: matter on food that can cause trouble and washing. A
- 19:27Speaker 6: lot of people kind of run things under the water
- 19:29Speaker 6: and that's not washing. You should have. There are completely organic,
- 19:36Speaker 6: chemical free cleaners for your produce and stuff like that.
- 19:40Speaker 4: How do you deal with that when you're talking fruits,
- 19:44Speaker 4: you can clean the skin, but when you're talking about
- 19:47Speaker 4: you know, lettuce for example, or cabbage, No.
- 19:50Speaker 6: They have sprays and things like that as well, and
- 19:53Speaker 6: you have to wash them all out. I mean, that's
- 19:55Speaker 6: what on trips, when you're vacationing abroad and things like that,
- 20:01Speaker 6: you're your biggest concern is not meat and things like that.
- 20:06Speaker 6: It's mostly the produce that gets.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Okay, explosive diarrheas and the way they're describing it, I mean,
- 20:14Speaker 4: that's no fun and the sound effects alone are extraordinary. Okay,
- 20:23Speaker 4: Should we move on?
- 20:25Speaker 3: I would Bad dog trainer, the owner of Happy Canine Academy,
- 20:32Speaker 3: Tony Sitt, has been sensed to nearly twelve years in
- 20:35Speaker 3: prison because he is associated to the deaths of eleven dogs.
- 20:41Speaker 3: He was charged with eleven counts of felony animal cruelty.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Eleven dogs died under his care. Authority say that many
- 20:50Speaker 3: of them died from extreme heat. One of them died
- 20:52Speaker 3: from blunt force trauma. Come on, come on, prosecutors say.
- 20:56Speaker 3: In one case, the pet owner said send them a
- 20:59Speaker 3: text message that their dog had died peacefully, but later
- 21:04Speaker 3: they did a necropsy and determined that the animal died
- 21:08Speaker 3: from heatstroke.
- 21:09Speaker 4: I have a question about prison with these guys, obviously kids,
- 21:15Speaker 4: child molesters, the rapists of young kids. You can't put
- 21:21Speaker 4: him in the general population because they will be killed.
- 21:24Speaker 4: Because there is a code even among felons in prison.
- 21:28Speaker 4: I wonder if part if that includes animal misconduct or
- 21:35Speaker 4: animal cruelty. I imagine I would think so, because everybody's
- 21:40Speaker 4: got a dog, and.
- 21:41Speaker 6: Everybody's only getting one in one year in chain for
- 21:47Speaker 6: change for each dog.
- 21:48Speaker 5: That seems a little light.
- 21:51Speaker 4: No, what they do is whether it's one or ten
- 21:54Speaker 4: or twelve. He pleads guilty generally to one count, so
- 22:00Speaker 4: they don't have to prove any more than one. They
- 22:03Speaker 4: generally don't have to do a lot of proof. That's
- 22:05Speaker 4: normally what happens. But I don't think he's gonna have
- 22:09Speaker 4: a pleasant time in prison, to say the least.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Oh here's another death. Oh this was sad.
- 22:13Speaker 6: Heard this obviously, well, actually saw it last night, but
- 22:16Speaker 6: heard Amy talking about this morning on.
- 22:19Speaker 5: Wake up call. Is that Jurassic Park star.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Sam Neil doctor Ellen Grant.
- 22:28Speaker 5: Died at seventy eight.
- 22:29Speaker 6: I didn't know that he had had a ferocious type
- 22:32Speaker 6: of aggressive non Hodgkins lymphoma.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Yeah, that came out a couple of years ago.
- 22:39Speaker 6: Yeah, apparently back in twenty twenty three or something like that.
- 22:42Speaker 6: But he said in April of this year that he
- 22:44Speaker 6: was cancer free and undergoing treatment. So do we know
- 22:48Speaker 6: if that's what he died of, probably, you would think.
- 22:52Speaker 3: So they're saying that his death was sudden and unexpected.
- 22:58Speaker 4: Yeah, probably eaten by a CGI dinosaur. Well that's too soon,
- 23:04Speaker 4: isn't it.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, you know what he Elsee was great in
- 23:08Speaker 3: was Denise PELAGREENI mentioned this was Hunt for Red October.
- 23:12Speaker 4: Yeah, he was when you think about it, he wasn't
- 23:15Speaker 4: an a actor, a list actor, but he was in
- 23:21Speaker 4: so much stuff that you go, oh yeah when he
- 23:25Speaker 4: shows up, I know that, I know that, I know
- 23:27Speaker 4: that guy.
- 23:28Speaker 6: He struck me as the type that didn't play the
- 23:30Speaker 6: game though, and just did his craft, which he was
- 23:34Speaker 6: very good at, and just didn't get up in the garbage.
- 23:37Speaker 6: And you have to get up in the garbage to
- 23:39Speaker 6: be truly a list.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 3: The vacant building which once housed P. Soup Anderson's in
- 23:47Speaker 3: the Santa Ynez Valley is going to be demolished. Of course,
- 23:52Speaker 3: it still bears the iconic signage and the stained glass
- 23:55Speaker 3: windows along the one on one freeway in Bueleton, but
- 23:59Speaker 3: the Bulton City Council just voted last week to strip
- 24:02Speaker 3: the building of its Historic Landmark protection, which means it
- 24:06Speaker 3: can be demolished. It went Amine twenty twenty four.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I've never understood why it was so famous. I've
- 24:13Speaker 4: eaten that peace soup a few times. Eh, you didn't
- 24:16Speaker 4: like it, No, not particularly. It wasn't any better than
- 24:19Speaker 4: any other peace soup piece, you know.
- 24:22Speaker 6: But it's really the vibe and everything the pea soup
- 24:25Speaker 6: was was good and the vibe was really good.
- 24:28Speaker 2: And yeah, that was more like it.
- 24:30Speaker 4: By the way, peace soup without ham is like a
- 24:32Speaker 4: day without sunshine. It's like shopping with It's like shopping
- 24:35Speaker 4: without costco agreed.
- 24:37Speaker 5: Yeah, but you hate being a Jew, That's why you
- 24:39Speaker 5: get all.
- 24:40Speaker 2: It's like a bar misfit without a jew.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Oh, you can't have ham in your pea soup.
- 24:44Speaker 4: You can't have ham at all if you're religious, that's
- 24:50Speaker 4: you know, if you're if you're Muslim, you can't have ham.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Pork is not allowed. No pork, no squealing.
- 24:59Speaker 3: The restaurant was opened in nineteen twenty four, you know,
- 25:02Speaker 3: and they originally named it Anderson's Electric Cafe because they
- 25:06Speaker 3: opened it shortly after electricity was brought into the Sandy
- 25:09Speaker 3: Inez Valley.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Well, there you go. I love it, all right, So
- 25:15Speaker 2: I guess good news.
- 25:16Speaker 6: Rents dropping in Southern California in some areas sixty percent,
- 25:21Speaker 6: and if you're looking for a deal, it is changing.
- 25:24Speaker 3: I don't think that's accurate. I think it's it's dropping
- 25:28Speaker 3: in sixty percent of Southern California. It's not dropping by
- 25:31Speaker 3: sixty percent.
- 25:32Speaker 5: Oh, in sixty percent.
- 25:33Speaker 3: Yeah, So I read it the same way when I
- 25:35Speaker 3: first looked at it.
- 25:36Speaker 4: Yeah, So that's kind of that would be a little
- 25:39Speaker 4: that would be fun. Well, great, It actually is different
- 25:42Speaker 4: depending on where you are. In Ventura County it's eighty
- 25:44Speaker 4: percent of cities had declines.
- 25:47Speaker 6: Yeah, and then in Los Angeles it's seventy nine percent.
- 25:51Speaker 6: Sandy Diego is sixty three.
- 25:52Speaker 2: So it does read the stand you are, Yeah, go
- 25:54Speaker 2: on with that stat.
- 25:56Speaker 4: Across the region, the typical rent dropped point four percent,
- 26:02Speaker 4: well not even half a percent.
- 26:04Speaker 6: Kid, Depending on where you are, you're like one hundred dollars,
- 26:09Speaker 6: one hundred dollars, it probably.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Yeah, one hundred bucks on a two thousand dollars apartment.
- 26:13Speaker 4: Okay, but this is no, it wouldn't be no, no, no, no, yeah,
- 26:17Speaker 4: would be about check. Yeah, it wouldn't be no.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I don't think so. It'd be like twenty dollars.
- 26:23Speaker 5: No, it's more than that.
- 26:25Speaker 2: What's point four percent? Half of one percent?
- 26:28Speaker 3: Two thousand, okay? Ten percent would be point zero four.
- 26:35Speaker 4: Maybe, yeah, maybe one hundred bucks eighty one hundred dollars.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:39Speaker 6: So the thing that caught my eye here in this
- 26:41Speaker 6: story it said the economy is cooling, population is stagged
- 26:45Speaker 6: it and a modest construction boom is adding more apartments
- 26:49Speaker 6: so there are more units to fill and less demand
- 26:52Speaker 6: from rent. It's supply and demand, people, It's always going
- 26:55Speaker 6: to be supply and demand to make things go up
- 26:58Speaker 6: or down. It's not that, you know, we continue need
- 27:03Speaker 6: to be building forever and ever on tops of houses.
- 27:06Speaker 6: On top of houses, you you eventually run out of
- 27:09Speaker 6: room and people have to move somewhere else.
- 27:12Speaker 4: Not everything goes up and down. Sometimes viagra doesn't work, okay,
- 27:17Speaker 4: never mind, that was a terrible That was a terrible joke. Well,
- 27:21Speaker 4: sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
- 27:23Speaker 5: You got to read the room. You're the only one
- 27:25Speaker 5: that uses it.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Well said.
- 27:29Speaker 3: No keys at the White House. First key key, now
- 27:32Speaker 3: Mooky the eight time Keiky Hernandez. Last week, I wasn't
- 27:39Speaker 3: going to go to the White House when the team
- 27:40Speaker 3: goes to visit UH to celebrate their World championship. But
- 27:45Speaker 3: now eight time All Star Mooki becks. Bets says that
- 27:47Speaker 3: he probably isn't going to join the team in DC either,
- 27:51Speaker 3: But he says he's going to spend the day with
- 27:54Speaker 3: his family. He said, we just had a baby, and
- 27:57Speaker 3: you did. You don't get that many days off. He said,
- 28:00Speaker 3: They're coming off a road trip and he just wants
- 28:01Speaker 3: to hang out with his family. He said, that's it.
- 28:04Speaker 3: But people are going to make it a whole bunch
- 28:06Speaker 3: of other stuff. He says, if I go to the
- 28:07Speaker 3: White House, people are going to hate me. If I
- 28:09Speaker 3: don't go to the White House, people are going to
- 28:11Speaker 3: hate me. So instead of trying to make everyone happy,
- 28:13Speaker 3: I'm going to think about myself and my family.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Good for the fun part about this story, of course,
- 28:19Speaker 4: that Mookie Bets is not coming out, what do you
- 28:22Speaker 4: think the President is going to say about him?
- 28:25Speaker 2: In his refusal to come.
- 28:26Speaker 4: Out loserable man, Yeah, loser or not no talent. All right, guys,
- 28:35Speaker 4: we are done with the news on this Wenday morning.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Coming up, Lindsey Graham died senator who had been there
- 28:44Speaker 4: what thirty years or more? A lion of the Senate legitimately,
- 28:49Speaker 4: but his history is a little clouded now.
- 28:52Speaker 2: I'll dive into that when we come back. KFI A M.
- 28:56Speaker 4: Six you've been listening to the Bill Handle Show, to
