- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the EDS with Eddie Judge and Edwin Aroyavi,
- 0:05Speaker 1: the husband's know best toucheese production.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Welcome to the Ed's podcast.
- 0:11Speaker 1: My name is Eddie Judge with my co host ed
- 0:14Speaker 1: How did we get roped into this?
- 0:16Speaker 2: Bro? I'm still trying to figure this out too, but hey,
- 0:21Speaker 2: here we are again. I'm excited to be here. Awesome.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Well for the new listeners that didn't get a chance
- 0:27Speaker 1: to listen to our first podcast, our goal with this
- 0:30Speaker 1: podcast is to provide you with some insight on the
- 0:32Speaker 1: male perspective of being married to these amazing, lovely, crazy
- 0:37Speaker 1: housewives of ours, but not just that. Also to talk
- 0:41Speaker 1: about relationship, marriage, fatherhood and stepfatherhood, men's health, business, and
- 0:47Speaker 1: much much more whatever whatever comes up today. However, we
- 0:51Speaker 1: have a lot of questions from our last podcast.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Can you believe that? Edwin? Yeah, we have a lot
- 0:57Speaker 2: of questions today, So I'm excited to go over. I
- 1:01Speaker 2: think we're gonna need like six hours for this one.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I know, by the way, the Tamra I ever listened
- 1:08Speaker 2: to the podcast, I don't think so.
- 1:12Speaker 1: She has been going one thousand miles an hour between
- 1:14Speaker 1: filming and the sixth podcasts that she and Teddy have
- 1:17Speaker 1: been doing. So I've asked her like six times and
- 1:21Speaker 1: I've finally given up.
- 1:22Speaker 2: But did Teddy listen to it? She did? She said
- 1:26Speaker 2: it was pretty good, so you know, of course, the
- 1:29Speaker 2: first thing I said right after that was hey, how many?
- 1:33Speaker 2: How many downloads? You know? And then she's like, dude,
- 1:35Speaker 2: you're not going to compete, right, which is funny hearing
- 1:38Speaker 2: them talk about that as well. But I'm just competitive
- 1:41Speaker 2: in that way. I don't know, are you competitive? I
- 1:44Speaker 2: just like to compete. I like to make things fun
- 1:46Speaker 2: I do, and I like to make them in a
- 1:48Speaker 2: fun way.
- 1:49Speaker 1: But the funny thing is that I didn't get into
- 1:52Speaker 1: the competition mode until I saw your post, and that
- 1:56Speaker 1: led me to think about that. Their very first podcast,
- 2:00Speaker 1: and I think the very first podcast they did, they
- 2:02Speaker 1: got like fifty thousand downloads, right, so we beat them.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I think we beat them.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Yeah, oh wow, that's I think that's a big deal.
- 2:12Speaker 2: That's a big deal.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, I'm coming granted, we are piggybacking out.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Them now, so yeah, yeah, they did all the hard
- 2:20Speaker 1: work things, so you know it, we're taking it easy.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Anyways, So, like I said, I think we're going to
- 2:30Speaker 1: need like six hours to go through all these questions
- 2:31Speaker 1: because you and I have so much to talk about.
- 2:34Speaker 1: But let's you know, I'm going to do my best
- 2:36Speaker 1: to condense it and give shorter answers, but I want
- 2:39Speaker 1: to try to answer every single question that we got.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I think we can just do it. Yeah, I think
- 2:43Speaker 2: we could do that.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Okay, So first question is what is your family like
- 2:48Speaker 1: with two strong women as wives?
- 2:50Speaker 2: You want to lead the charge? Yeah, take a shot
- 2:53Speaker 2: at that one. You know, it's funny because Teddy and
- 2:56Speaker 2: I are both very strong minded, and what we've had
- 3:02Speaker 2: to learn to do is just be open with what
- 3:07Speaker 2: bothers us about each other, right, and have that communication
- 3:12Speaker 2: right because before we'd kind of you know, she'd want
- 3:16Speaker 2: me home at a certain time, and if I wasn't
- 3:19Speaker 2: home at a certain time, she'd flip and you know,
- 3:21Speaker 2: give me hard time about it. And finally we just
- 3:23Speaker 2: had to communicate on that and I just had to
- 3:27Speaker 2: tell her, Look, sometimes I won't be able to make
- 3:29Speaker 2: it home by six. I'm working and it requires this
- 3:34Speaker 2: amount of hours sometimes, but hey, on weekends, I'm all yours.
- 3:39Speaker 2: And if I have to sacrifice now playing basketball with
- 3:43Speaker 2: the guys on weekends. That's what I've had to do.
- 3:45Speaker 2: But you know, we we came to that communication, which
- 3:50Speaker 2: I think was was key.
- 3:52Speaker 1: That's one thing I've learned all my life that communication
- 3:55Speaker 1: is key for any aspect of your life friendships, business,
- 3:58Speaker 1: you know, relationships. And that's actually, in my opinion, one
- 4:04Speaker 1: of the hardest things to do in a relationship, you know,
- 4:07Speaker 1: is meet your mind and tell the truth because you
- 4:10Speaker 1: love that person and you don't want to hurt their feelings.
- 4:12Speaker 1: And for us, our relationship, it's pretty balanced at home,
- 4:19Speaker 1: you know, between the both of us, we we tend
- 4:22Speaker 1: to pick up where the other one left off and
- 4:25Speaker 1: help each other kind of like a teamwork. When it
- 4:28Speaker 1: comes to communication though, about hard things, we tend to
- 4:32Speaker 1: avoid it until we have to talk about it. And
- 4:36Speaker 1: we've only had a few times where we've you know,
- 4:39Speaker 1: had arguments about certain subjects, and the biggest takeaway from
- 4:43Speaker 1: that was that we we grew stronger together, We bonded
- 4:48Speaker 1: because we realize that as scary as it is to
- 4:51Speaker 1: talk about these things, when we get past it, it
- 4:57Speaker 1: makes us more bonded, It makes us more you know,
- 5:01Speaker 1: cohesive as a couple, and we can trust that we're
- 5:03Speaker 1: not going to attack each other, you know, over stupid
- 5:06Speaker 1: little things. And that's one of the things I love
- 5:09Speaker 1: about my wife. She just doesn't she doesn't sweat to
- 5:11Speaker 1: small stuff. But when it comes to the big stuff,
- 5:14Speaker 1: you know, sh'll fight and she'll make her point.
- 5:17Speaker 2: And I appreciate that because you.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Know, sometimes, as you know, as an entrepreneur, being at
- 5:22Speaker 1: the top, we don't typically have accountability. Nobody's telling us
- 5:26Speaker 1: what to do and when to do it and how
- 5:28Speaker 1: to do it. So when my wife comes at me,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I'm like, who the hell do you think you are?
- 5:34Speaker 1: And I have to sit back and go, oh, you're
- 5:36Speaker 1: my wife, and you're important to me, and I need
- 5:38Speaker 1: to listen to you, right, I.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Mean there's something to be said about you know, strong
- 5:43Speaker 2: minded women that are strong that can sort of hold
- 5:46Speaker 2: us accountable.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Right.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I think in life we as much as we probably
- 5:51Speaker 2: don't want to admit this, we want challenges in life,
- 5:55Speaker 2: and when we don't get challenged, we sort of get bored.
- 5:57Speaker 2: And you know, you can tend to walk all over people.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And you know, I think that's why strong women. Usually
- 6:05Speaker 2: you need a strong woman at least to get me
- 6:08Speaker 2: and held me accountable. I needed somebody like Teddy that
- 6:11Speaker 2: could just stand strong and you know, maybe not fight
- 6:15Speaker 2: me back, but like be able to speak her mind
- 6:19Speaker 2: if something if I'm doing something that she doesn't like,
- 6:23Speaker 2: you know, because otherwise you'll just walk right over them. Right, Yeah,
- 6:27Speaker 2: And there's a way to do it where it's not
- 6:28Speaker 2: in an aggressive way. That then can you know, start
- 6:32Speaker 2: World War three?
- 6:33Speaker 1: Right?
- 6:33Speaker 2: That's what I was just going to say. Yeah, I
- 6:35Speaker 2: do think you need a strong woman, And at least
- 6:41Speaker 2: for me, that's what I've always liked is someone that
- 6:43Speaker 2: can challenge me, because when I have been challenged, I
- 6:46Speaker 2: could easily walk over them if I wanted to.
- 6:50Speaker 1: And again, it goes for everything in life. One thing
- 6:53Speaker 1: about my wife is that she is not a ballbuster.
- 6:57Speaker 1: She won't belittle me or put me down because we
- 7:01Speaker 1: have a mutual respect. But you know, she'll challenge me,
- 7:03Speaker 1: like you said, she'll she'll delicately or or strategically talk
- 7:10Speaker 1: to me about certain things. Because at this point in
- 7:13Speaker 1: our relationship, I'm sure you can identify with this. She
- 7:17Speaker 1: knows how to push the right combination of buttons to
- 7:20Speaker 1: really piss me off, right, and I know the combination
- 7:23Speaker 1: to her buttons. So we respect each other enough that
- 7:27Speaker 1: we don't want to push those buttons again because it's
- 7:29Speaker 1: not going to solve anything. But we're just going to
- 7:31Speaker 1: come together as a team and talk through it.
- 7:34Speaker 2: So speaking of that, what's your advice on a successful marriage?
- 7:39Speaker 1: Well, I always say that it's not the good times
- 7:42Speaker 1: that makes a bond stronger, but the adverse experiences that
- 7:47Speaker 1: put us together closer. For example, we know we can
- 7:51Speaker 1: rely on each other when times get difficult, and in
- 7:55Speaker 1: our marriage, we know how to have fun, we know
- 7:58Speaker 1: how to travel, we know how to I really love
- 8:00Speaker 1: each other, but when life throws a monkey wrench in
- 8:03Speaker 1: your way and you don't know how to resolve the issue,
- 8:07Speaker 1: and thank God that we haven't really experienced anything like that,
- 8:12Speaker 1: like a death or a sickness or you know, a
- 8:16Speaker 1: knock on wood, a car accident or something. You know,
- 8:19Speaker 1: I'm very confident that we can get through it.
- 8:22Speaker 2: But we haven't been tested that way. You know.
- 8:25Speaker 1: It's we've only had little things of growing pains that
- 8:30Speaker 1: we've experienced together that has put us through you know,
- 8:33Speaker 1: the ringer, and we came out of it, We learned
- 8:37Speaker 1: from it, we grew out of it, and we understand
- 8:39Speaker 1: each other better. So I think, you know, going through
- 8:43Speaker 1: the hard times and getting through them is what makes
- 8:46Speaker 1: the marriage successful.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah. I love that answer, because again, anyone can do
- 8:52Speaker 2: things when things are going great, like, of course you're
- 8:54Speaker 2: going to have a great marriage when things are great.
- 8:56Speaker 2: But really it's you know, your character will be revealed
- 9:00Speaker 2: when pressure is applied, right, And that's when you know
- 9:05Speaker 2: if you have a good marriage. Right is when difficult
- 9:08Speaker 2: times happen. What is your character?
- 9:10Speaker 1: Right?
- 9:11Speaker 2: What person do you become? And I think it's a great,
- 9:13Speaker 2: great point. I think my advice on a successful marriage is,
- 9:18Speaker 2: you know, it all starts with you working on yourself first.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Right.
- 9:21Speaker 2: You can't make the other person happy if you're not happy,
- 9:24Speaker 2: and so you've got to figure out what makes you happy,
- 9:28Speaker 2: you know. For me, you know, I like working out
- 9:31Speaker 2: in the morning. That makes me happy. I like getting
- 9:34Speaker 2: a little work done in the morning that makes me happy.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I like to work on my mindset that makes me happy.
- 9:40Speaker 2: And the happier I am, then the happy you know,
- 9:43Speaker 2: I can transfer that love to her. Right. Energy is
- 9:46Speaker 2: a big deal for me too. Right, it doesn't matter
- 9:48Speaker 2: how much you love someone if you don't have any
- 9:51Speaker 2: energy because you're not working on the things that you
- 9:55Speaker 2: need to work on so you have energy. Right, For me,
- 9:57Speaker 2: it's the gym, but again it's the body mind. So
- 10:01Speaker 2: I would say that's step one because again, if you're
- 10:03Speaker 2: not happy with yourself, you're just going to transfer that
- 10:07Speaker 2: to your partner. You can't transfer something that you're not experiencing.
- 10:11Speaker 2: So if you're not experiencing love and in a good
- 10:14Speaker 2: place with yourself, you can't transfer that to other people.
- 10:16Speaker 2: So that's probably my biggest thing. And then you know,
- 10:22Speaker 2: also letting your partner know that you As simple as
- 10:25Speaker 2: the sounds, it's just showing them that you care about them,
- 10:30Speaker 2: showing them that you believe in them, and giving them
- 10:33Speaker 2: that support. Right, And it's not just by words, it's
- 10:38Speaker 2: by actions. And I think it's a constant. You know,
- 10:44Speaker 2: you got to constantly work on your marriage. You know,
- 10:47Speaker 2: you're either growing or you're dying, So you got to
- 10:49Speaker 2: make incremental improvements little by little, you know, at least
- 10:54Speaker 2: I try to do. It's just how do we make
- 10:56Speaker 2: it a little better? You know? Have you read that
- 10:58Speaker 2: book ifive Love Languages or something like that. I haven't.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Teddy Teddy's all over that one. I haven't. I haven't
- 11:07Speaker 2: read it, but you know, some of the cool things
- 11:10Speaker 2: that we do, for instance, like we pray together in
- 11:13Speaker 2: the morning, We'll meditate together in the morning, will sometimes
- 11:17Speaker 2: work out together in the morning. We'll do things together
- 11:22Speaker 2: that kind of you know, because we get so busy
- 11:26Speaker 2: that we try to you know, all the cool things
- 11:28Speaker 2: that that that make me happy show be a part of,
- 11:33Speaker 2: and I'll try to be a part of things that
- 11:35Speaker 2: make her happy. So you kind of go into each
- 11:38Speaker 2: other's world once in a while. And I think it's
- 11:41Speaker 2: the same thing with kids. Right.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Yeah, along those same lines, Edwin, I have a question
- 11:46Speaker 1: for you that that came up here. When when did
- 11:48Speaker 1: you feel comfortable with John Mellencamp being your father in law?
- 11:53Speaker 2: Definitely took some time. You know, John is a serious man,
- 11:59Speaker 2: especially at first when he doesn't really get to know
- 12:01Speaker 2: you, you know. But I think when when you're at his level,
- 12:04Speaker 2: you know, you're probably wondering, what does this person want
- 12:08Speaker 2: from me? Right? So I tried to just let that
- 12:13Speaker 2: relationship happen naturally where I wasn't forcing it, and I
- 12:18Speaker 2: didn't want to think that I was desperate for a
- 12:21Speaker 2: relationship with him or that I wanted something from him.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I just I was patient, and I was just slowly
- 12:29Speaker 2: but surely kind of you know, building that relationship without
- 12:33Speaker 2: looking desperate. And I think at the end of the day,
- 12:37Speaker 2: if you come across desperate to someone, whether it's relationship,
- 12:40Speaker 2: doesn't matter what relationship it is. Nobody wants somebody that
- 12:43Speaker 2: looks desperate. And I think because of that, I just
- 12:46Speaker 2: kind of let it gradually happened. And you know, I
- 12:49Speaker 2: knew we were getting along when, you know, he'd always
- 12:51Speaker 2: make fun of the way I dressed, and I knew
- 12:56Speaker 2: that we were getting closer when he then started asking
- 12:59Speaker 2: me for it on you know, how do you do
- 13:02Speaker 2: the scarf again? Would you get that jacket? You know?
- 13:05Speaker 2: So I'm like, okay, he is. He is into my style.
- 13:07Speaker 2: He was just giving me a hard time. He does
- 13:09Speaker 2: like you, so he does like me. So you know,
- 13:12Speaker 2: now we've I think he's gotten I've gotten that respect
- 13:15Speaker 2: from him now. But definitely he made me earn it.
- 13:18Speaker 2: It definitely wasn't overnight.
- 13:20Speaker 1: And I bet that feels good to have your wife's father,
- 13:24Speaker 1: you know, accept you for who you are and and
- 13:27Speaker 1: the fact that you're taking care of his daughter. My
- 13:30Speaker 1: father in law is not a superstar, but you know,
- 13:33Speaker 1: I still have a lot of respect for the man
- 13:35Speaker 1: because he had a tough life, you know, based on
- 13:38Speaker 1: my conversations with Tamera, and from day one, I just
- 13:43Speaker 1: enjoyed his company. He's just so cool and easy to
- 13:46Speaker 1: get along with. But I could always see his mind
- 13:49Speaker 1: working when he when we first met, Like who is
- 13:51Speaker 1: this guy? What is he about? What does he want
- 13:53Speaker 1: with my daughter? You know, it's it's kind of a
- 13:55Speaker 1: natural thing as a father, right.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:58Speaker 1: So I don't know if I've won him over, but
- 14:02Speaker 1: you know, I have spent some quality time with him.
- 14:04Speaker 1: We were at a baby shower in Vegas and there
- 14:09Speaker 1: happened to be a antique gun show going on, and
- 14:15Speaker 1: A I don't have any interest in anything antique, and
- 14:19Speaker 1: B I never really had any interest in guns. But
- 14:22Speaker 1: I wanted to get to know the guy. So I
- 14:25Speaker 1: kind of reluctantly went on this trip because it was
- 14:29Speaker 1: the uncle, the father, the brother in law. And I'm like,
- 14:33Speaker 1: you know, if this is the time that they're going
- 14:35Speaker 1: to kill me, this is gonna be it. You guys
- 14:38Speaker 1: is gonna have and Vegas they'll never find me, and
- 14:41Speaker 1: I better, you know, be my best person here. This
- 14:46Speaker 1: guy is really a super guy, and I feel good
- 14:49Speaker 1: that he likes me.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I think he likes me. Awesome.
- 15:00Speaker 1: What do you and Tamra fight about? You know, there's
- 15:03Speaker 1: not a lot. That's a question that I read and
- 15:06Speaker 1: I'm like, I can't think of much that we fight about.
- 15:09Speaker 1: But there's a couple of things that we do disagree
- 15:11Speaker 1: on the most. There's two of them, I'll tell you about.
- 15:15Speaker 1: One of them is very common in almost every relationship,
- 15:18Speaker 1: I believe, and that's figuring out what you're going to eat,
- 15:22Speaker 1: because she will have a desire for Mexican, I'll have
- 15:24Speaker 1: a desire for Japanese, and vice versa.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Right.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I learned a rule a long time ago that when
- 15:29Speaker 1: it comes to that, and I practiced it over and
- 15:32Speaker 1: over and all my relationships with even my friends, my
- 15:35Speaker 1: guy friends, when it's time to go eat, if nobody
- 15:40Speaker 1: can make a decision, just throw it out there and say, Okay,
- 15:43Speaker 1: do you guys want steak, fish or chicken? And then
- 15:46Speaker 1: from there you can make an easier assessment as to
- 15:48Speaker 1: where you're going to go eat.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Right.
- 15:50Speaker 1: So a lot of times that worked, and it got
- 15:53Speaker 1: old for my wife and she did she stopped answering it,
- 15:56Speaker 1: and then it became Okay, well do you want do
- 16:00Speaker 1: you want? I want to go get Mexican and she says, well, no,
- 16:05Speaker 1: not really, and then I say, okay, why don't you
- 16:07Speaker 1: tell me what you want? And that's the kiss of
- 16:10Speaker 1: death right there, because she can. She'll come back and go,
- 16:14Speaker 1: you know what, I don't know whatever you want. So
- 16:17Speaker 1: after giving her seven hundred different ideas and her say no, no, no, no,
- 16:22Speaker 1: no no no, it gets frustrating, right and we're end
- 16:25Speaker 1: up just picking some shit place to go because we
- 16:27Speaker 1: can't figure out where to go. So that's probably one
- 16:30Speaker 1: of our biggest challenges. The other is me personally. I
- 16:35Speaker 1: cannot stand going to bed watching TV, and for her,
- 16:40Speaker 1: that is her night. Will like that's what she's done
- 16:43Speaker 1: when she's been a kid. She turns the TV on
- 16:46Speaker 1: and I can't tell you how many nights of sleepless
- 16:49Speaker 1: nights I've had because I end up with my eyes
- 16:51Speaker 1: wide open watching a stupid show that she wanted to watch,
- 16:55Speaker 1: and I'm riveted to the stupid TV and she's dead
- 16:59Speaker 1: asleep and I'm just pissed off because I have.
- 17:01Speaker 2: To watch the show. That's probably the hardest thing we
- 17:06Speaker 2: deal with. I get you on that because Teddy always
- 17:09Speaker 2: has to have the TV on, and for many years
- 17:13Speaker 2: she would watch Law and Order and it was just like,
- 17:15Speaker 2: you know, the background music just kind of puts you
- 17:17Speaker 2: in a bad viude, like all these murder shows. And
- 17:20Speaker 2: for many years, I'm like, I think, one day you're
- 17:22Speaker 2: gonna end up killing me with all these murder shows
- 17:24Speaker 2: that you watch. But it's always like the background music
- 17:27Speaker 2: that's just kind of like, So I just put my
- 17:29Speaker 2: headphones on and I listen to a podcast and then
- 17:32Speaker 2: I go to bed. But literally, I have to put
- 17:34Speaker 2: my headphones on all the time. I think the biggest
- 17:36Speaker 2: thing that I have had with Teddy on is probably
- 17:38Speaker 2: or that we argue with each other, it's probably our phones,
- 17:42Speaker 2: just because at times when she wants to be present,
- 17:46Speaker 2: I'm not present because at that time I'm doing something
- 17:49Speaker 2: with work, right, and you know, I got to tell
- 17:52Speaker 2: her like, it's not like I'm on social media. I'm
- 17:54Speaker 2: on I'm working. And then sometimes when I'm present and
- 17:59Speaker 2: I want her want to have some discussions with her,
- 18:01Speaker 2: she's on her phone and she's like, I'm working. So
- 18:06Speaker 2: that's probably the biggest thing, is us being on our
- 18:10Speaker 2: phones and me being late. It's probably the other thing
- 18:16Speaker 2: that she hates, and I sometimes hate how organized. I mean,
- 18:23Speaker 2: it's a love hate with her being that organized because
- 18:25Speaker 2: it helps me that she's that organized. But sometimes I'm
- 18:28Speaker 2: just like, dude, we don't have to be like the
- 18:32Speaker 2: first ones at every party. Like we can show up
- 18:36Speaker 2: like thirty minutes later. Let some people get there. We
- 18:38Speaker 2: don't have to be the first ones there. Yeah, you know,
- 18:42Speaker 2: so that's probably the biggest one. Hilarious. Yeah, she always
- 18:47Speaker 2: wants to be the first one there, and she wants
- 18:49Speaker 2: to be on time, and yeah, I get that. And
- 18:53Speaker 2: at the end of the day. He here's a funny one.
- 18:54Speaker 2: We're literally flying to I forgot. We're flying to Cancun
- 18:59Speaker 2: or something, right, and she makes us sleep early because
- 19:04Speaker 2: she thinks the terminals somewhere and it was another gate.
- 19:08Speaker 2: And then we're in the front and were the first
- 19:10Speaker 2: ones there, so she made us leave the what do
- 19:12Speaker 2: you call it, like the VIP area, the VIP stuff
- 19:15Speaker 2: where you stay at the airport or whatever. Oh yeah,
- 19:18Speaker 2: and then we get there and there's nowhere to sit now,
- 19:21Speaker 2: So I'm like, you just made me leave early, and
- 19:23Speaker 2: now there's nowhere to sit. So now we're literally the
- 19:25Speaker 2: first ones in line, like we're not even flying southwest,
- 19:28Speaker 2: but we might as well have been flying southwest because
- 19:30Speaker 2: we're the first ones in line, because there's nowhere to sit.
- 19:33Speaker 2: And then to top it off, we go in and
- 19:35Speaker 2: she doesn't have the passport. Whether I'm like teddy, you've
- 19:38Speaker 2: here this entire time or standing here for the last
- 19:41Speaker 2: fifteen minutes and now you can't find your passport, like
- 19:45Speaker 2: what was the point again here early? Like, and then
- 19:47Speaker 2: she's liked, well, shooting, you have your own passport, So.
- 19:52Speaker 1: You know, I don't remember how old I was when
- 19:55Speaker 1: I learned that traveling with your partner will determine if
- 19:59Speaker 1: you're going to have a a long lasting relationship, because
- 20:03Speaker 1: I have traveled with some women that I've dated before
- 20:06Speaker 1: and I wanted to kill them. And one of the
- 20:09Speaker 1: things that I experienced with my wife is that she's
- 20:12Speaker 1: super easy going, and I think a lot of it
- 20:14Speaker 1: has to do with she relies on me to make
- 20:17Speaker 1: the decisions and to take care of, you know, the
- 20:19Speaker 1: travel plans, and if anything goes wrong, she wants me
- 20:23Speaker 1: to step up.
- 20:23Speaker 2: So I'm usually good about that.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I I you know, as a as a ares if
- 20:29Speaker 1: you will, I like to take charge when nobody else
- 20:32Speaker 1: is jumping in front and making a decision.
- 20:36Speaker 2: We're we have a lot in common, bro.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Yeah, but don't you find yourself very frustrated sometimes when
- 20:45Speaker 1: you're in a group and nobody wants to make a decision.
- 20:48Speaker 2: So it sounds like your relationship on Tamera and you're Teddy,
- 20:51Speaker 2: because Teddy does everything when it comes to traveling, I
- 20:56Speaker 2: just show up, like you will be the day of,
- 20:58Speaker 2: I'm like, what hotel are we staying at? Again? Like
- 21:01Speaker 2: I have no clue, and I just get a time
- 21:04Speaker 2: and I show up and I don't start asking questions
- 21:07Speaker 2: to the day of. It's how I roll. But so
- 21:09Speaker 2: that's why, in many ways, Teddy works for me, and
- 21:12Speaker 2: I guess in many ways that's why Tamura works for you.
- 21:16Speaker 1: We drew a little bit of opposites. That makes a
- 21:19Speaker 1: good marriage. Yeah, So let's go to the next question.
- 21:22Speaker 1: How did you become the husbands you both are now?
- 21:26Speaker 1: And did you have any role models?
- 21:31Speaker 2: I didn't. I mean my dad was a role model
- 21:33Speaker 2: to me at first, right. I saw the way that
- 21:35Speaker 2: he took care of his mom. I saw the way
- 21:37Speaker 2: that he took care of us, his other family, Like
- 21:41Speaker 2: he just always took care hit his friends. He was
- 21:45Speaker 2: always about taking care of people first, and that was
- 21:48Speaker 2: a big deal for me. I mean, one of the
- 21:50Speaker 2: biggest lessons he told me about before he went to
- 21:54Speaker 2: jail was, son, you need to take care of your mom, Like,
- 21:57Speaker 2: no matter what nobody gets in front of like, you
- 22:00Speaker 2: always respect your mom. You have one mom, and you're
- 22:03Speaker 2: gonna take care of her first. And in fact, sometimes
- 22:06Speaker 2: those are some of the arguments that I have with Teddy, right,
- 22:08Speaker 2: It's it's like, hey, don't get in the middle of
- 22:11Speaker 2: my mom, Like, don't even go there. Yeah, right, and
- 22:15Speaker 2: she's respected that. Actually, well, I don't think we have
- 22:19Speaker 2: time board, but though I got to definitely one day
- 22:22Speaker 2: give the story of when the only fight that they've
- 22:24Speaker 2: ever had, and I was basically translating because my mom
- 22:27Speaker 2: doesn't speak English, and I was making it a lot
- 22:31Speaker 2: less aggressive than what it really was with the way
- 22:34Speaker 2: I was translating. But I think they could tell the
- 22:35Speaker 2: body language that I was just kind of like, you know,
- 22:39Speaker 2: making it not as aggressive. But anyway, so that's my
- 22:43Speaker 2: dad was a huge mentor to me growing up, and
- 22:47Speaker 2: you know, other mentors, believe it or not, is you know,
- 22:50Speaker 2: movies were very influential to me because when I would
- 22:54Speaker 2: stay home by myself, I just watched movies all day,
- 22:59Speaker 2: and I forgot how we had a connection to a
- 23:03Speaker 2: Beta store and a VHS you know, like not a Blockbuster,
- 23:06Speaker 2: but back then they had like a bunch of video
- 23:08Speaker 2: stores all over the place, right, So as a kid,
- 23:11Speaker 2: this is a funny story. As a kid, I used
- 23:15Speaker 2: to watch these Radar movies all day long because no
- 23:18Speaker 2: one was basically seen. I didn't even know who Radar was, right.
- 23:21Speaker 2: So one of my favorite movies growing up as a
- 23:23Speaker 2: kid was called Tough Turf and Kyle Richard's sister was
- 23:28Speaker 2: the main star of that, and she actually was my
- 23:32Speaker 2: first crush in many ways because it was the first
- 23:34Speaker 2: time I saw like a blonde and I was like,
- 23:37Speaker 2: this girl's hop and god knows how many times I
- 23:40Speaker 2: watched that movie. So it was kind of come full
- 23:43Speaker 2: circle moment. You know, I'm filming and I'm filming with O.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Why am I blanking on Kyle's sister's name. I remember
- 23:50Speaker 2: any there but Jim Jim Yes, And I'm like, oh shit,
- 23:56Speaker 2: here's Kim Richards. I used to watch you every day
- 23:59Speaker 2: when I was eight years old. Tough honey. But anyway,
- 24:03Speaker 2: some movies were very influential to me, and I mean
- 24:05Speaker 2: that's what made me want to go to Beverly Hills.
- 24:07Speaker 2: I watched these movies and I was like, Man, this
- 24:10Speaker 2: isn't the way they look hunting them park, This isn't
- 24:13Speaker 2: the way it looks like in the movies. I need
- 24:14Speaker 2: to go to the places where you know, these movies
- 24:16Speaker 2: are being filmed and stuff that's hilarious.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I find this question to be a really good question. Personally,
- 24:25Speaker 1: I didn't have a father growing up as a young kid.
- 24:29Speaker 1: My role models were my grandmother and my aunt and
- 24:34Speaker 1: some uncles. I think I had many role models throughout
- 24:38Speaker 1: my life that helped me understand how a woman needs
- 24:41Speaker 1: to be treated. You know. I don't know if it's
- 24:44Speaker 1: just my culture, but certain things that I picked up
- 24:47Speaker 1: along the way, like when you're walking down the sidewalk
- 24:50Speaker 1: your woman walks on the inside of the curve or
- 24:53Speaker 1: away from the street, obviously holding opening the door for her,
- 24:58Speaker 1: whether it's the car or going into the house or
- 25:00Speaker 1: the restaurant, and just treating her with respect and love
- 25:05Speaker 1: and admiration. Especially the relationships where you know that I
- 25:12Speaker 1: observe where both partners really adore each other.
- 25:15Speaker 2: That was very attractive to me.
- 25:17Speaker 1: And I admired Dad, And I always imagine myself being
- 25:20Speaker 1: the man that just puts his girl on a pedestal
- 25:24Speaker 1: and loves her and treats her to as many things
- 25:28Speaker 1: that can bring happiness to her. So I don't know
- 25:32Speaker 1: that I had one specific role model, But like you,
- 25:34Speaker 1: I learned a lot from movies and sitcoms and TV shows.
- 25:38Speaker 1: There's so much to learn from those those TV shows
- 25:43Speaker 1: in our era, right And I say that because nowadays,
- 25:47Speaker 1: I don't see any shows like that. I don't see
- 25:49Speaker 1: anything where the man really respects her, adores his wife everything,
- 25:55Speaker 1: shoot him up, kill him. You know, it's different nowadays.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I don't find movie like that, you know. So a question,
- 26:03Speaker 1: does it ever bother you that your wife is on
- 26:05Speaker 1: a reality TV show and she's a reality TV star
- 26:09Speaker 1: and that your relationship is pretty much out there in public?
- 26:15Speaker 2: No, not at all. I think, you know. I think
- 26:18Speaker 2: the relationship that you know, we I guess because I
- 26:24Speaker 2: know so like, she's got very close friends, and I
- 26:29Speaker 2: know how much her friends love her. I know how
- 26:31Speaker 2: much her family loves her. Pretty much, everyone I bring
- 26:34Speaker 2: around Teddy ends up falling in love with her. So
- 26:38Speaker 2: because of that, I don't really care what people that
- 26:42Speaker 2: don't know her say. I guess that helps me with that.
- 26:47Speaker 2: As far as her being on TV, and you know,
- 26:50Speaker 2: I always say that it's it's sort of perfect because
- 26:54Speaker 2: you you sort of get all the books of being
- 27:00Speaker 2: on TV, but you don't have to deal with all
- 27:03Speaker 2: the crap that like an A lister has got to
- 27:05Speaker 2: deal with, right, Like Teddy can go out and she'll
- 27:08Speaker 2: get recognized, but it'll be like by one to maybe
- 27:12Speaker 2: three people, and you could still go on with your day.
- 27:16Speaker 2: It's not like you got freaking thirty fifty people coming
- 27:20Speaker 2: at you screaming at you, where it's like you don't
- 27:23Speaker 2: have a life. You can't even leave your house, Like
- 27:26Speaker 2: that would be tough, right, Yeah, So I think I
- 27:30Speaker 2: don't have what is for Tamra, But like for us,
- 27:33Speaker 2: it's kind of like the best. You have the perks
- 27:37Speaker 2: of being able to get to wherever you want to
- 27:40Speaker 2: get into, but you don't have to deal with the
- 27:43Speaker 2: drama of being an A lister or you know, somebody
- 27:47Speaker 2: that's just super beyond famous. You know.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Yeah, for me, in the beginning, it bothered me a
- 27:53Speaker 1: little bit because I grew up as a very private person.
- 27:56Speaker 1: My family is very private. We didn't really talk a
- 28:00Speaker 1: lot about ourselves and where we came from. So you
- 28:03Speaker 1: could only imagine, you know, if this was I don't know,
- 28:07Speaker 1: thirty years ago and we're doing this podcast and you're
- 28:10Speaker 1: asking me about myself, I'd be like, oh, I had
- 28:13Speaker 1: a great life.
- 28:14Speaker 2: You know, I wouldn't be.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Telling you that I crossed the border and I lived
- 28:17Speaker 1: in a garage and you know, shit that happened to me.
- 28:20Speaker 1: But in the beginning it was hard because I am
- 28:25Speaker 1: a private guy. At some point though, in my relationship
- 28:29Speaker 1: with Tamra, I had to come to terms and I
- 28:32Speaker 1: have to be a public bigger or a public person
- 28:35Speaker 1: by association.
- 28:36Speaker 2: It's not that I earned it. You know.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I'm not the star of or even a real cast
- 28:42Speaker 1: member of this TV reality show. I always say, you know,
- 28:46Speaker 1: when I run into people and public and they're like,
- 28:49Speaker 1: oh my god, I love you, I love you, I'm like,
- 28:52Speaker 1: you know, I'm really not a star.
- 28:55Speaker 2: I'm just an extra. I'm just an extra on the show.
- 28:58Speaker 1: You know. In fact, sometimes I'm just a seat filler.
- 29:03Speaker 1: My wife's the star of this family, you know. Yeah,
- 29:06Speaker 1: she's she's the best part of this this TV reality,
- 29:09Speaker 1: and she takes it so well. I Mean there's been
- 29:13Speaker 1: many times where, and this is just one example, where
- 29:18Speaker 1: I would be going to the bathroom and she'd be
- 29:20Speaker 1: talking about, oh, let's film this. I'm like, no, no,
- 29:23Speaker 1: you know some things are freaking sacred. You are not
- 29:26Speaker 1: going to film me going to the bathroom.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean it's it's I think what makes
- 29:31Speaker 2: Tamer and Teddy's so special and a lot of obviously
- 29:35Speaker 2: the housewives in general, is that, I mean it's effortless
- 29:38Speaker 2: for them. They're so good at what they do. Like
- 29:41Speaker 2: like I have to prepare for stuff. Teddy can just
- 29:44Speaker 2: wing it. She can just show up and start to Yeah.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I mean that's what makes them great. Like I've always
- 29:50Speaker 2: given the girls on the show so much credit because
- 29:53Speaker 2: they have to be so witty, Like if you're not
- 29:55Speaker 2: quick on that show, you're gonna get crushed. Yeah. And me,
- 30:00Speaker 2: I'm like on a thirty second delay. That's why I
- 30:02Speaker 2: just rather stay breaking quiet, Yeah, because I'm just not
- 30:05Speaker 2: saying that's going to come out of my mouth. Yeah,
- 30:08Speaker 2: I won't be fast enough to even you know, by
- 30:10Speaker 2: the time I say my next phrase, I'm gonna get
- 30:12Speaker 2: punched like five times or five times by the way,
- 30:15Speaker 2: So I'm just like, oh, let me just stay quiet,
- 30:17Speaker 2: let me eat my salad, Bundy.
- 30:26Speaker 1: So how do you keep outside opinions from affecting your relationship?
- 30:30Speaker 1: This is the next question, you know, the opinions that
- 30:33Speaker 1: you see on social media, comments, blogs, and gossip articles,
- 30:36Speaker 1: because I'm sure your wife gets it. My wife gets
- 30:39Speaker 1: it a lot, and there's just people out there that
- 30:42Speaker 1: I think it's twofold, right. One part of it is
- 30:46Speaker 1: because our wives are so popular and they're being so
- 30:49Speaker 1: successful in this world of pop culture and reality TV,
- 30:54Speaker 1: they're going to be talked about, whether it's positive or negative.
- 30:58Speaker 1: And the other part is a lot of people they
- 31:02Speaker 1: just want to associate themselves with people that are on
- 31:05Speaker 1: top of the world, right, so they can do that
- 31:08Speaker 1: negatively or positively, and by way of posting a compliment
- 31:12Speaker 1: on social media and getting a thank you or a heart,
- 31:17Speaker 1: you know, thank you so much for the message, or
- 31:20Speaker 1: posting something so negative that it hurts their feelings, and
- 31:26Speaker 1: it's like, why are you even following them? Why are
- 31:29Speaker 1: you even on this platform? If you don't like my wife,
- 31:33Speaker 1: if you don't like the women. I don't get it.
- 31:36Speaker 1: You know, what do you think?
- 31:39Speaker 2: No, same thing? I mean sometimes I at first I
- 31:42Speaker 2: don't do it anymore, but I mean once in a
- 31:44Speaker 2: while it comes at my face. I'll see it is I.
- 31:47Speaker 2: I used to see the comments, and I would talk
- 31:51Speaker 2: about having discipline, like I had to have so much
- 31:53Speaker 2: discipline not to get involved because I knew it would
- 31:56Speaker 2: just add more fuel to the fire. Is just going
- 32:00Speaker 2: to make them, you know, have more power. Right, So
- 32:05Speaker 2: you know, the only way the way you can take
- 32:07Speaker 2: hour away from somebody is just show them that it
- 32:10Speaker 2: doesn't bother you, right, yea. So, but there's many times
- 32:14Speaker 2: I wanted to comment, but I was like, nope, I
- 32:15Speaker 2: can't comment, because then then they're going to get what
- 32:17Speaker 2: they want, right. But yeah, it's it's definitely hurtful sometimes
- 32:20Speaker 2: to see those comments. But like I said earlier, as
- 32:22Speaker 2: long as you know that the truth and you know
- 32:26Speaker 2: their character and you know who they are, then it's
- 32:30Speaker 2: I would say, it's less painful. But sometimes it does
- 32:33Speaker 2: piss you off because you know they're not like that,
- 32:35Speaker 2: and you're just like, man, are you that sad about
- 32:38Speaker 2: your life that you just got to go on here
- 32:40Speaker 2: and make a comment, But now I realize it's just
- 32:43Speaker 2: part of business, right, part of the business.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Has it ever affected your relationship with Teddy comments?
- 32:53Speaker 2: No, not at all, I think, if anything. You know,
- 32:56Speaker 2: obviously there's times where at the beginning the comments were
- 33:00Speaker 2: her full tour, so it didn't affect our marriage. I mean,
- 33:03Speaker 2: I guess you could say affect her and I could
- 33:05Speaker 2: see her sad about it, but I would you know,
- 33:08Speaker 2: that's when you got to be there for support and
- 33:10Speaker 2: stuff like that. I mean that. I mean again, I
- 33:13Speaker 2: give these girls a lot of credit because part of
- 33:15Speaker 2: doing that job is they got to deal with a
- 33:18Speaker 2: lot of hate. You know, It's just it's what they
- 33:20Speaker 2: signed up for. But it is part of the game.
- 33:23Speaker 2: I guess I don't buy you.
- 33:24Speaker 1: No, I don't think it had affected us necessarily, but
- 33:28Speaker 1: I do remember one of the artist things, or one
- 33:32Speaker 1: of the labor and test some things I should say
- 33:35Speaker 1: in the beginning was trying to guide her away from
- 33:38Speaker 1: the negative comments, because she would do something and post
- 33:42Speaker 1: something on social media, and half of the posts where oh,
- 33:46Speaker 1: you're amazing and I love it, You're my favorite, good job,
- 33:49Speaker 1: and the other half were just nasty. And I would
- 33:52Speaker 1: notice because I was reading it, I would notice that
- 33:56Speaker 1: she would respond to all the negatives and not say
- 33:59Speaker 1: anything to the positives. And I said, bab, you got
- 34:02Speaker 1: to you got to balance it out, or for that matter,
- 34:04Speaker 1: stop responding to the negatives, because you're just giving them life.
- 34:08Speaker 1: You've given them exactly what they want. And it took
- 34:11Speaker 1: a couple of years for her to figure it out,
- 34:13Speaker 1: but she got to a point where, I mean, now,
- 34:17Speaker 1: it only took almost nine years. But now we have
- 34:21Speaker 1: a person that helps us with the social media, and
- 34:24Speaker 1: it's a very mature person that understands the ins and
- 34:27Speaker 1: outs of social media. So when something negative is posted,
- 34:32Speaker 1: ultimately it doesn't affect him. I mean, it kind of does,
- 34:35Speaker 1: because he likes us. He really cares about our best interests.
- 34:38Speaker 1: But he knows that responding to that garbage is a
- 34:41Speaker 1: waste of time.
- 34:42Speaker 2: It's just it's not what I love. The point you
- 34:45Speaker 2: just made it just reminded me. You know, our first question,
- 34:48Speaker 2: what's what's advice on a successful marriage? And I think
- 34:51Speaker 2: so much of that is, you know, sometimes you tend
- 34:55Speaker 2: to focus on what's the one thing that's bothering you
- 34:59Speaker 2: and not focus on the nine great things. Right, So
- 35:02Speaker 2: she could be a nine out of ten, and you
- 35:04Speaker 2: focus on the one thing that's bothering you instead of
- 35:06Speaker 2: focusing on the nine things that she's great at. Right, So,
- 35:10Speaker 2: again to your point, that's took us on the positive
- 35:13Speaker 2: and not pay too much attention to the negative, especially
- 35:16Speaker 2: when the positive is outweighing the negative by a landslide,
- 35:20Speaker 2: you know.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I have one more thing to say about this
- 35:23Speaker 1: social media thing, and it's it's full disclosure, because there's
- 35:29Speaker 1: been probably a handful of instances where I see a
- 35:35Speaker 1: negative post on my social media and it gets to me.
- 35:40Speaker 1: It just happens to be a bad day and I'm
- 35:42Speaker 1: hungry and I'm tired, and I'm just like not in
- 35:45Speaker 1: the mood, and I will respond, and I try to
- 35:47Speaker 1: be as articulate as possible. I don't sink down to
- 35:51Speaker 1: their level. So I think I've responded to maybe two
- 35:54Speaker 1: or three in my entire experience with social media, and
- 35:59Speaker 1: the best experience, in my opinion, has been responding to
- 36:04Speaker 1: one of these negative posts. And I have like a
- 36:07Speaker 1: ten paragraph, like one hundred word response and then I
- 36:11Speaker 1: just deleted it because I know it's not going to
- 36:13Speaker 1: go anywhere, but I feel good about it.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, So Eddie talked to us about, you know,
- 36:19Speaker 2: when you guys got engaged and married in front of
- 36:21Speaker 2: the cameras, whose idea was that? And did you ever
- 36:25Speaker 2: think to keep that private? Because obviously you just said
- 36:28Speaker 2: you like to be private, but you know, there you go,
- 36:31Speaker 2: having the marriage and in front of everybody.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Well, whose idea was that? This is a great question.
- 36:35Speaker 1: This is actually where we ended our show, our first podcast.
- 36:40Speaker 1: And this is definitely a long, lone story, but I'm
- 36:43Speaker 1: going to try to do my best to condense it
- 36:45Speaker 1: because there's so much that happened. After about two years
- 36:49Speaker 1: into our relationship, we started talking marriage. I never thought
- 36:53Speaker 1: about marriage, mostly because, like you explained it in our
- 36:57Speaker 1: first podcast, like I don't want to get married, maybe
- 36:59Speaker 1: she can just have my kid exactly. I was afraid
- 37:03Speaker 1: to get married. However, I really loved her at the time.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I still love her obviously today, but I just couldn't
- 37:11Speaker 1: imagine my life without her. So in consideration to the
- 37:15Speaker 1: fact that she's been married, has four kids, and we
- 37:18Speaker 1: both you know, don't really see a value and spending
- 37:20Speaker 1: a ton of money on a wedding, we decided to
- 37:22Speaker 1: do a small wedding, just a nice little beach wedding,
- 37:26Speaker 1: you know, barefoot, closest family and friends invited and nothing,
- 37:30Speaker 1: not a big deal, right. So that's that's the kind
- 37:33Speaker 1: of wedding we agreed to, and we were about to
- 37:36Speaker 1: start organizing it and doing it, and then we started
- 37:39Speaker 1: filming that season. It just happened to start filming, and
- 37:43Speaker 1: then of course she brought it up to the production
- 37:47Speaker 1: We're going to do this, you know, because every year
- 37:48Speaker 1: they asked what's going on in your life? And of
- 37:51Speaker 1: course they love the idea, And unbeknownst to me, I
- 37:54Speaker 1: was approached by the head of production. I mean, I'm
- 37:56Speaker 1: talking to heads like the people that never come out
- 37:58Speaker 1: of their office. Yeah, so I knew it was serious.
- 38:02Speaker 1: And they approached me about doing a wedding special. And
- 38:04Speaker 1: I initially said no. I just said no, I have
- 38:07Speaker 1: to have something private in my life, you know, because
- 38:10Speaker 1: everything else I do with with our life is public.
- 38:14Speaker 1: And and somehow, someway, we ended up agreeing to a
- 38:20Speaker 1: wedding special. I think part of it was that I
- 38:24Speaker 1: was actually going to get paid for this show this time.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Not a lot of money, but you know, anything is good.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and we agreed, and you know, one of my
- 38:34Speaker 1: favorite parts was my idea to present my bride with
- 38:39Speaker 1: an engagement ring in a shell that we discovered together
- 38:44Speaker 1: while diving. And that was the idea. You know, I
- 38:46Speaker 1: didn't know where it was going to happen, but that's
- 38:48Speaker 1: I wanted to come up with some interesting way of
- 38:54Speaker 1: asking her to marry me. I didn't want to just
- 38:56Speaker 1: get down on one knee and say, oh, that was
- 39:00Speaker 1: just so overplayed. That was my vision, but I didn't
- 39:04Speaker 1: know exactly where it was going to happen. And it
- 39:06Speaker 1: wasn't until I asked, you know, I was asked, you know, okay,
- 39:10Speaker 1: you got to you know, let's do this. What do
- 39:12Speaker 1: you want to do? And it was then that I
- 39:15Speaker 1: figured out how I wanted to do it. I wanted
- 39:17Speaker 1: to do it in Bora Bora, and I wanted to
- 39:20Speaker 1: go to Bora Boras and die for shells and come
- 39:23Speaker 1: up and you know, exactly like it happened in our
- 39:26Speaker 1: wedding special. And I opened up the show and there's
- 39:28Speaker 1: a beautiful ring inside, and production, you know, figured it out.
- 39:33Speaker 1: They figured out how to make it happen. And the
- 39:37Speaker 1: funny thing is that I really only knew if Bora
- 39:39Speaker 1: Bora from the movie I think it was Jim Carrey's No. No,
- 39:44Speaker 1: it was the movie couple's retreat, remember that, just say that.
- 39:49Speaker 1: I thought that is a beautiful place. That's where I
- 39:51Speaker 1: want to go ask her to marry me. And production
- 39:53Speaker 1: made it happen. It was the most incredible experience the
- 39:57Speaker 1: four seasons on the water. We stayed in a hut.
- 40:00Speaker 1: I jumped in the water naked every day. I think
- 40:03Speaker 1: we spent three days filming, had a nice romantic dinner
- 40:06Speaker 1: with the fire hard to shape fire surrounding us and
- 40:11Speaker 1: fire dancers, and on the beach just her and I.
- 40:14Speaker 2: I mean, it doesn't get more.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Romantic than that, right, I don't know how I could
- 40:19Speaker 1: have put something together like that myself. And the funny
- 40:23Speaker 1: thing is that she actually thought that was the time
- 40:25Speaker 1: I was going to ask her to marry me, but nope,
- 40:29Speaker 1: it didn't happen.
- 40:32Speaker 2: But you know, I think it's pretty cool though, that
- 40:34Speaker 2: you're always going to have that on video, right, Like, yes,
- 40:39Speaker 2: that moment is captured and you guys be seventy eight
- 40:43Speaker 2: years old and you could look at that again. And
- 40:45Speaker 2: I think that's that's one of the brooks of coming
- 40:48Speaker 2: out on the show, Like for me with my kids,
- 40:52Speaker 2: like I'm able to I'm going to be able to
- 40:53Speaker 2: go back and see them at three years old and
- 40:56Speaker 2: two years old and running around, and that was kind
- 40:59Speaker 2: of cool. I mean, I wish they would have showed
- 41:00Speaker 2: more of all the filming that we did with the kids,
- 41:03Speaker 2: because we filmed a ton with the kids, but you know,
- 41:07Speaker 2: ninety eight nine percent of it they don't show. I
- 41:10Speaker 2: wish they would have showed more. But it was still
- 41:12Speaker 2: nice to be able to go back I mean the
- 41:14Speaker 2: way I look at it now, twenty thirty years from now,
- 41:17Speaker 2: be able to go back and just kind of relive
- 41:19Speaker 2: those moments, whether not just in your memory, like in
- 41:22Speaker 2: your mind, you could actually watch them. And what a
- 41:25Speaker 2: cool experience that now you can go back to and
- 41:29Speaker 2: watch as many times as you want, you know.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Speaking of that, our kids, they filmed a lot before
- 41:36Speaker 1: I was on the show because their dad was on
- 41:38Speaker 1: the show, and when they divorced, the dad wouldn't sign off,
- 41:42Speaker 1: so the kids never got a chance to film and
- 41:44Speaker 1: continue that journey. And I am looking forward to the
- 41:48Speaker 1: day where because the kids see it as a very
- 41:50Speaker 1: negative experience because of what their dad did to them psychologically,
- 41:54Speaker 1: they just don't want anything to do with it. But
- 41:57Speaker 1: I know there's going to be a day when they
- 41:58Speaker 1: grow up and they look back and they're going to
- 42:00Speaker 1: see themselves on TV and they're going to go, oh
- 42:02Speaker 1: my god, that's me. That's how little I was, and
- 42:06Speaker 1: oh my god, that's what I look like. I wish
- 42:10Speaker 1: I had that kind of experience.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Right by the way, are you comfortable or uncomfortable in
- 42:15Speaker 2: the cameras?
- 42:16Speaker 1: You know it's been over ten years now. I'm very
- 42:19Speaker 1: comfortable at this point, but like we talked in our
- 42:22Speaker 1: first episode, I was nerve wracking when there's a big
- 42:27Speaker 1: lens looking at you. It's just not very comfortable at all.
- 42:30Speaker 1: So now you know, you can put a camera in
- 42:32Speaker 1: front of us. We can be eating dinner, we can
- 42:34Speaker 1: be walking, we can be driving. I have a pretty
- 42:38Speaker 1: comfortable disposition about, you know, being on camera.
- 42:41Speaker 2: Now cool. What about you? I still can't get used
- 42:46Speaker 2: to it. I mean it's I've gotten better at it,
- 42:49Speaker 2: but I'm very camera shy. You know. A lot of
- 42:52Speaker 2: that is again I'm shy, timid. You know, when I
- 42:55Speaker 2: was a little kid, fifteen years old, I would always
- 42:57Speaker 2: get you know, nervous. I think I said that on
- 42:59Speaker 2: the first podcast but I would start sweating that I
- 43:02Speaker 2: talk about that. Yeah, And you know, now I believe
- 43:05Speaker 2: it or not. It happens to me less, but it
- 43:08Speaker 2: still happens to me. Like if I get nervous, I
- 43:11Speaker 2: didn't start sweating bad, Like I just start getting hot
- 43:15Speaker 2: and I feel red and then just start getting sweaty.
- 43:17Speaker 2: It actually happened to me during a red carpet event.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Oh I forgot what I mean. This was I think
- 43:23Speaker 2: year two, and you know, usually they don't ask me
- 43:27Speaker 2: any questions. I'm just kind of there holding Teddy's hand
- 43:29Speaker 2: and they're asking her questions, and someone just asked me
- 43:32Speaker 2: a question out of left field, and I started stumbling
- 43:35Speaker 2: my words, and I started to get really nervous, and
- 43:39Speaker 2: I just felt myself getting hot and I was and
- 43:42Speaker 2: then you know, when you're on the red carpet, there's
- 43:44Speaker 2: like lights everywhere, and those lights get hot, especially if
- 43:47Speaker 2: you started getting nervous, Day're really really hot. And man,
- 43:52Speaker 2: I knew the sweat was coming. So I made this
- 43:55Speaker 2: excuse of having to go to the restroom. And as
- 43:58Speaker 2: I'm speaking and I'm like, hey, I just I gotta
- 44:01Speaker 2: go use the restaurant. I'm so sorry, and I ran
- 44:04Speaker 2: out of that damn red carpet. I went around the
- 44:06Speaker 2: corner and I just sat down there for five minutes,
- 44:09Speaker 2: just sweating my ass off, And thank God that I
- 44:14Speaker 2: left when I did, because if I wanted a left
- 44:16Speaker 2: right at that moment, I would have been in the
- 44:18Speaker 2: red carpet, just drenched and sweat. So cameras sometimes do
- 44:23Speaker 2: scare me. So anyway, that's that's my story along those lines.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Part of the question is you know how comfortable or
- 44:32Speaker 1: uncomfortable are you in front of the camera, But are
- 44:35Speaker 1: there boundaries now that you said when it comes to filming,
- 44:41Speaker 1: is there something you're not willing to.
- 44:43Speaker 2: Do on cameras? So for me, like I I didn't
- 44:47Speaker 2: want to get into a fight on the show, right,
- 44:51Speaker 2: So I mean that was like, for instance, one time
- 44:54Speaker 2: where I knew there was a fight gonna happen with
- 44:58Speaker 2: one of the husbands, was going to get into it
- 45:00Speaker 2: with my wife. I could just tell already it was
- 45:03Speaker 2: going to happen, and I saw my kids playing on
- 45:07Speaker 2: the other side, and I made the excuse of like
- 45:10Speaker 2: going to go play with the kids, right, because it
- 45:13Speaker 2: just probably wouldn't have been a good moment if I
- 45:15Speaker 2: would have gotten involved and it's just like, hey, I
- 45:18Speaker 2: don't That's one thing I'm not willing to do is
- 45:21Speaker 2: get on a bite on TV or just say some
- 45:23Speaker 2: stuff that I'm going to feel bad about and definitely
- 45:28Speaker 2: never get into it with the women. There's obviously there's
- 45:32Speaker 2: the one episode where I was acting like I was
- 45:35Speaker 2: eating the salad when I think I forget the lady's name,
- 45:39Speaker 2: but she made Teddy cry and Sudden and Teddy starts
- 45:46Speaker 2: just crying and I'm eating my salad, and I'm like,
- 45:49Speaker 2: what am I supposed to do? If if I get involved,
- 45:53Speaker 2: I'm probably going to say something bad to Sudden and
- 45:55Speaker 2: I'm going to look like a like a dick.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Right.
- 45:59Speaker 2: If I don't get involved, I'm gonna look like the Woos,
- 46:02Speaker 2: because why aren't you helping your wife? Like all these
- 46:05Speaker 2: thoughts are coming in my head, like what do I do?
- 46:07Speaker 2: Like just quick?
- 46:08Speaker 1: Right?
- 46:09Speaker 2: Yeah? And then of course they settled on. I'm gonna
- 46:11Speaker 2: act like I'm not hearing what's going on, and I'm
- 46:14Speaker 2: just gonna continue myself of a fly on the wall exactly,
- 46:19Speaker 2: even though like it's pretty obvious that my wife is crying.
- 46:22Speaker 2: I'm trying to like act like I don't want to
- 46:24Speaker 2: hear that she's crying. So but yeah, that's there's no
- 46:28Speaker 2: way I'm gonna fight with one of these ladies. First
- 46:30Speaker 2: of all, they would crush me with how witty they are.
- 46:32Speaker 2: Uh yeah, it's not even like it's no contest like
- 46:37Speaker 2: all of those girl especially the ones. I haven't seen
- 46:39Speaker 2: much of the other shows, but man, the girls from BH,
- 46:42Speaker 2: wow are they witty? Just quick.
- 46:45Speaker 1: I had a similar experience. I think it was the
- 46:50Speaker 1: second or third year. We were sitting I believe, in
- 46:55Speaker 1: Vicki's backyard having a big dinner. The entire cast was there,
- 46:59Speaker 1: and you know, the funny thing is that in the beginning,
- 47:03Speaker 1: the first like hour, nobody fights because nobody wants to,
- 47:07Speaker 1: you know, say anything. And then all of a sudden
- 47:11Speaker 1: it was Terry debrou and Heather and David Badoor and Shannon.
- 47:17Speaker 1: They were going at each other. And then that lasted
- 47:19Speaker 1: a little while, and then that ended, and then it
- 47:21Speaker 1: calmed down. Then the fights start going. Now you have
- 47:25Speaker 1: like four different fights going on at the same time,
- 47:27Speaker 1: and I'm just sitting there just trying to take it
- 47:30Speaker 1: in and avoid it and not get eye contact and
- 47:33Speaker 1: not participate and not be a part of it and
- 47:36Speaker 1: I think Retchen was on the show and Slade were
- 47:40Speaker 1: on the show at the time, and Gretchen started going
- 47:43Speaker 1: at my wife. My wife was defending herself and she
- 47:46Speaker 1: was going back at Gretchen, and all of a sudden,
- 47:49Speaker 1: Gretchen's boyfriend, Slade, stands up and he starts, you know,
- 47:52Speaker 1: pointing his finger at my wife and kind of a
- 47:56Speaker 1: verbally attacking my wife. And that's when I sat back
- 47:58Speaker 1: and I'm like, Okay, I have two options here.
- 48:01Speaker 2: I could reach over and beat the living.
- 48:03Speaker 1: Shit out of this guy for talking to my wife
- 48:05Speaker 1: the way he's talking, but I will look like an asshole,
- 48:08Speaker 1: you know. Or I can just sit back and let
- 48:13Speaker 1: my wife defend herself and because she she's pretty damn
- 48:16Speaker 1: good at it, and look like a little woozy because
- 48:20Speaker 1: I didn't come to the rescue, you know, I didn't
- 48:22Speaker 1: stand up for my wife. So I had to make
- 48:25Speaker 1: the hard decision to say, you know what, I don't
- 48:27Speaker 1: I don't want to be a part of this. I
- 48:29Speaker 1: am not a housewife. I'm not going to get into
- 48:31Speaker 1: this show, so I'm just gonna back off. And of
- 48:35Speaker 1: course we got home that night and I told my
- 48:37Speaker 1: wife about it, and she's like, thank god you didn't
- 48:39Speaker 1: get involved, because this is that wouldn't have been good
- 48:42Speaker 1: for you. Wait till you see how Slade looks on TV.
- 48:45Speaker 1: It turned out to be that it was the best
- 48:47Speaker 1: decision I could make because I am not a housewife
- 48:50Speaker 1: and I'm not going to get into it with the housewife.
- 48:53Speaker 1: In fact, every single person, every single guy, I think
- 48:56Speaker 1: there's been about three of them that ever were cast
- 48:59Speaker 1: for the show, David being one of them, Bronwin's husband,
- 49:05Speaker 1: I don't remember his name, but there were a couple
- 49:08Speaker 1: of guys that reached out to me like, hey, you've
- 49:10Speaker 1: been on this show for a while, what should I expect?
- 49:13Speaker 1: I said, listen, just don't get into it with the women.
- 49:17Speaker 1: Don't become a housewife when the fights start, just don't
- 49:20Speaker 1: get involved walk away and oh Brooks was another one.
- 49:24Speaker 1: You know yep, And I said, okay, well I.
- 49:27Speaker 2: Told you so. You know, especially with the power of edit,
- 49:31Speaker 2: that if they really want to make you look bad,
- 49:33Speaker 2: they can't. I learned that is real. Yes.
- 49:41Speaker 1: So that leads to the next question, which is a
- 49:43Speaker 1: really good question. Have you ever regretted filming my stuplanswer
- 49:47Speaker 1: on that is no, Like I had a good time.
- 49:50Speaker 1: You know.
- 49:50Speaker 2: It's funny. I would treat those times as a date
- 49:53Speaker 2: with the wife, and I always felt uncomfortable, Like I
- 49:57Speaker 2: never actually felt comfortable, but I think that like uncomfortable things.
- 50:01Speaker 2: So I I didn't mind it. I did. I guess
- 50:06Speaker 2: the only thing I might I would mind sometimes is
- 50:08Speaker 2: sometimes these things would last like three and a half hours,
- 50:11Speaker 2: just back and forth bickering, and I was just like, uh,
- 50:14Speaker 2: but for the most part, I didn't mind it.
- 50:16Speaker 1: And then they only used like ten seconds of that, right,
- 50:19Speaker 1: exactly hours of labor and they take ten seconds of it.
- 50:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that's another reason. I just second year, I was like,
- 50:25Speaker 2: there's no point of talking, Like, unless I have a
- 50:28Speaker 2: killer SoundBite, I ain't coming out. Yeah, so let me
- 50:31Speaker 2: just take my chances. But if you say something wrong,
- 50:35Speaker 2: it'll come out all day, right, Yeah, but if you
- 50:38Speaker 2: say something bad, like so, the more you talk, the
- 50:41Speaker 2: more opportunity you're going to have to say something stupid
- 50:44Speaker 2: that's just going to make you look dumb. So I
- 50:47Speaker 2: just thought to myself, Okay, I would just speak if
- 50:50Speaker 2: somebody asked me a question. Otherwise I don't really need
- 50:53Speaker 2: to get in any I don't need to get into.
- 50:56Speaker 1: It I think one of the most important questions that
- 51:00Speaker 1: people ask us have you ever regretted filming? And like you,
- 51:04Speaker 1: I don't like to regret much, right, But there was
- 51:09Speaker 1: this one time, and it was the very very very
- 51:14Speaker 1: first day that I've ever filmed with camera, the very
- 51:17Speaker 1: first day. It was supposed to be a nice romantic
- 51:20Speaker 1: dinner at my house. I was trying to impress Tamera
- 51:23Speaker 1: by cooking skills, smoke with my cooking skills. So I
- 51:26Speaker 1: made filet me on, lobster tail Brocolani, and a very
- 51:28Speaker 1: nice bottle of red wine. Well, the evening started with
- 51:32Speaker 1: you know, fifty plus people. You know how many people
- 51:34Speaker 1: show up at your house to set up the filming.
- 51:37Speaker 1: And as soon as the crew brought in these large
- 51:41Speaker 1: movie production sized cameras, my wife says, I turn white.
- 51:44Speaker 1: I just spros. And I looked at her and I said,
- 51:47Speaker 1: I can't do this. I can't do this.
- 51:50Speaker 2: It's like I'm not going to go through it. This,
- 51:52Speaker 2: this is not going to be good. And she said,
- 51:55Speaker 2: so she ran.
- 51:55Speaker 1: She runs to the bar, comes back with the bottle
- 51:58Speaker 1: of her best liquid current j a very well known
- 52:01Speaker 1: tool she used for many many years called Tequila Yes
- 52:05Speaker 1: and Now, tequila and I were not very good friends
- 52:07Speaker 1: because I just don't like to drink, but I had
- 52:09Speaker 1: no other option. Six shots later and a glass of
- 52:13Speaker 1: red wine, we finished dinner. They take her upstairs to
- 52:16Speaker 1: prepare for some romantic setting. And I'm thinking, we're just
- 52:20Speaker 1: gonna get in bed and we're gonna get romantic. I
- 52:22Speaker 1: don't know what to expect. Yeah, they keep me downstairs
- 52:25Speaker 1: to clean up the kitchen. While they're doing all that.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Five minutes later, I go up, I pour a glass
- 52:31Speaker 1: of wine, and I'm like, Okay, I'm ready for whatever
- 52:34Speaker 1: they're gonna throw at me. I walk into my bathroom
- 52:39Speaker 1: and there's my wife in the bathtub with bubble baths,
- 52:43Speaker 1: and the very first words that come out of my
- 52:46Speaker 1: mouth are you're naked. And I could only visualize, you
- 52:51Speaker 1: know that movie with Jim Carrey in the mask where
- 52:53Speaker 1: his jaw drops to the ground. I visualize that happened
- 52:56Speaker 1: to me. And all I can think of is, there's
- 52:59Speaker 1: fifty people in this bathroom and you're naked in my bathtub.
- 53:04Speaker 1: How did you get in there without them seeing you?
- 53:06Speaker 2: Right? My head starts spinning. I freeze. The second question
- 53:12Speaker 2: was the second question that you asked yourself. Am I
- 53:14Speaker 2: supposed to get naked? Now?
- 53:16Speaker 1: Yes? That's when I froze. I'm like, I can't do this,
- 53:21Speaker 1: this is not happening. There's not enough tequila. And sure enough,
- 53:24Speaker 1: the producer takes me downstairs and he says, hey, listen,
- 53:27Speaker 1: you don't have to do this, but if you get
- 53:31Speaker 1: into the tub, you know it'll be good for the viewers.
- 53:34Speaker 1: You'll you may want to go in there with your
- 53:38Speaker 1: clothes on. And I thought, okay, maybe I could do that.
- 53:41Speaker 1: So he gives me another shot of tequila. Of course,
- 53:44Speaker 1: and all I'm thinking in my head is I better
- 53:46Speaker 1: do like a hundred push ups, pump up my chest,
- 53:48Speaker 1: pump up my arms.
- 53:49Speaker 2: I'll go in there. I'll pull my shirt off like
- 53:51Speaker 2: a stripper. It would be the greatest shot ever.
- 53:54Speaker 1: And sure enough, I go up there, I do some
- 53:57Speaker 1: push ups, I take my shirt off slow. I look good,
- 54:01Speaker 1: and then my wife says, were you going to keep
- 54:03Speaker 1: your pants on? And without skipping a beat edwin, I
- 54:08Speaker 1: didn't even know this was happening. I pulled my pants down,
- 54:12Speaker 1: holding them down all the way to my ankles. And
- 54:14Speaker 1: I'm very flexible, right, so I just bent over and
- 54:17Speaker 1: I'm looking behind me, and there's a big ass camera
- 54:20Speaker 1: in the shower behind me directly pointed out my asshole,
- 54:24Speaker 1: and a camera to the right pointing at my junk.
- 54:27Speaker 1: And all I can think of is I got to
- 54:29Speaker 1: run into the as fast as I can so they
- 54:32Speaker 1: don't see my chunk. So I jumped in. Next thing,
- 54:37Speaker 1: I know, Huh you weren't cold, were you? Oh?
- 54:41Speaker 2: It was very cold. I was very cold because after I.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Got in the tub, I'm like, you dumb ass, you're
- 54:47Speaker 1: thinking about your chats, You're thinking about your arms.
- 54:50Speaker 2: Nobody cares about that. They want to see you're junk exactly.
- 54:54Speaker 2: That think they'd be warm, not cold. And that's that
- 54:58Speaker 2: was your first day of Filmary first, like where do
- 55:01Speaker 2: you go from here? Exactly?
- 55:04Speaker 1: And that's also the day I found out that there's
- 55:07Speaker 1: definitely no chance of me becoming a porn start because
- 55:10Speaker 1: I am not good naked on cameras.
- 55:14Speaker 2: I'm not gonna happen. No Woody in the bathtub, I
- 55:19Speaker 2: think I did.
- 55:20Speaker 1: But I was comfortable then because there was bubbles everywhere,
- 55:23Speaker 1: nobody can see him. And the last thing I remember is,
- 55:27Speaker 1: you know, again, cameras are pointing and pointing at you.
- 55:30Speaker 1: You should do something right. So I start getting hot
- 55:33Speaker 1: and heavy kissing her, you know, getting on top of
- 55:35Speaker 1: her in the bathtub, and all of a sudden it
- 55:37Speaker 1: got really uncomfortable in there, and everybody split. Everybody just
- 55:41Speaker 1: bailed out. It's like, okay, thank you so much, have
- 55:43Speaker 1: a good night, We'll see you borrow. And then this
- 55:47Speaker 1: morning was that we kept going and the next morning
- 55:52Speaker 1: we both woke up with the massive headache, going, what
- 55:56Speaker 1: the hell did we do last night?
- 55:59Speaker 2: How are they going to edit that? How are they
- 56:01Speaker 2: going to Oh.
- 56:02Speaker 1: My god, we're going to look like idiots. And of course,
- 56:06Speaker 1: in the back of my head I get this stuff.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Maybe I can reach out to the editors and they
- 56:10Speaker 1: can add a few pixels for me so that I
- 56:13Speaker 1: can look like big John long dung or whatever.
- 56:15Speaker 2: You know, give me some credit.
- 56:18Speaker 1: And how did they edit you? By the way, it
- 56:21Speaker 1: actually watch that now. In my opinion and even Tamer's opinion,
- 56:25Speaker 1: it was very classy. They didn't show anything. They showed
- 56:29Speaker 1: a little bit of skin, and I think they even
- 56:31Speaker 1: had a blooper on the website where they showed a
- 56:35Speaker 1: little bit of her nipple, But on the actual show
- 56:38Speaker 1: that was on National TV, they didn't show any nipple,
- 56:41Speaker 1: so that maybe it was strategic, you know, for the
- 56:45Speaker 1: purposes of getting people to watch you know, hey, nipples,
- 56:48Speaker 1: let's watch this. But I think it was classy. But
- 56:53Speaker 1: the biggest concern edwin of anything, was how are the
- 56:57Speaker 1: kids going to look at this? You know, how they yeah,
- 57:01Speaker 1: how are they gonna react? Because remember it was at
- 57:05Speaker 1: the time when you know, she had just gotten divorced
- 57:08Speaker 1: and her husband was doing everything and in his power
- 57:11Speaker 1: to hurt camera through the kids. So you know, he's
- 57:15Speaker 1: gonna put this, show, this clip in front of their
- 57:17Speaker 1: face and go, this is your mom, This is your
- 57:20Speaker 1: mom doing porn. You know, this is the things that
- 57:22Speaker 1: we were visually, and this is why we regretted doing it,
- 57:27Speaker 1: you know, because this is this might hurt the kids
- 57:30Speaker 1: in some way.
- 57:32Speaker 2: But at the end, you know, we both talked to
- 57:36Speaker 2: the kids about it. Did they ever see it?
- 57:37Speaker 1: No, No, that's one thing we never talked about. I
- 57:41Speaker 1: don't even know that they even brought it up. Her
- 57:44Speaker 1: kids are really they don't any time, even kissing, they
- 57:50Speaker 1: go like, ew, gross, you guys are kissing. You know,
- 57:53Speaker 1: they're very anti anti loving, anti public, you know, display
- 57:59Speaker 1: of which is the opposite of our culture, right. I mean,
- 58:03Speaker 1: I do everything in my power to let my wife
- 58:06Speaker 1: know that I love her and I appreciated her. And
- 58:09Speaker 1: when we're in public, I hold her hand, when we
- 58:11Speaker 1: stop at the light, I hug her. You know, this
- 58:13Speaker 1: is just who I am. And the kids are completely
- 58:17Speaker 1: like their dad. They just show no emotions. So I
- 58:20Speaker 1: think it affected them, but we really don't know. We've
- 58:23Speaker 1: never ever talked about it with them.
- 58:25Speaker 2: Good story, man, that was a good, good fun story.
- 58:36Speaker 1: Do you enjoy filming ninety percent of the time, I
- 58:40Speaker 1: do not enjoy it. But in the beginning, there was
- 58:43Speaker 1: this one moment that I remember, I'll never forget. It
- 58:45Speaker 1: was a trip I planned for tamer and I. Again,
- 58:49Speaker 1: it was a trip that was planning in advance to Spain.
- 58:53Speaker 1: I've always wanted to see Spain, and it was a
- 58:55Speaker 1: trip for her and I just alone, and she told
- 58:58Speaker 1: the production this is what's happening in our life. And
- 59:01Speaker 1: they ended up sending a producer, a audio engineer, and
- 59:05Speaker 1: a camera person with us to follow us on this trip,
- 59:09Speaker 1: and we not only got to film this amazing vacation together,
- 59:14Speaker 1: but we got to experience the irks, if you will,
- 59:21Speaker 1: of being on TV, all these upgrades, all these free,
- 59:25Speaker 1: expensive amazing dinners, expensive amazing experiences. It really took our
- 59:32Speaker 1: vacation and bumped it up a few notches because we
- 59:35Speaker 1: were filming it, so it was it was awesome. It
- 59:39Speaker 1: really really was a great experience, no drama, obviously, nobody
- 59:42Speaker 1: was fighting.
- 59:43Speaker 2: Her and I were in our.
- 59:44Speaker 1: Best place and joining each other's company, and that was
- 59:47Speaker 1: probably my favorite time other than you know, filming our proposal.
- 59:51Speaker 1: That was the highlight of my life is filming the
- 59:54Speaker 1: proposal and bora, bora.
- 59:56Speaker 2: Isn't it? But you know it's so cool. I mean
- 59:59Speaker 2: you talk about some of the perks, like when we
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: were on the show, we got out to the inviterers
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: to the Kentucky Derby, and I mean we had the
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: red carpet rolled out, rolled out for us, so we
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: hung out at all the cool parties. I mean I
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: was hanging with Aaron Rodgers, you know, let's thee a
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: couple of rockers. I'm blanket on their name right now,
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: but just everywhere we went it was like right to
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: the front, Like there's no way in how we would
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: have gone in if it wasn't for for Teddy being
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: on the show. At the time, and you know, you
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: get to get that's some of the props. You get
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: to hang out at some pretty cool places. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: and I appreciate that tremendously. I last year, I think
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: it was I had the opportunity for the very first
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: time in my life ever to attend the Indy five
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: hundred in Indianapolis, and it was all VIP. You know.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: I was sponsored by Good Ranchers Is it's a great
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: company that sales meet online and it's produced by local ranchers,
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: not imported from you know, outside of the United States.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: But the car they sponsored one.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: So I got to literally stand at the winner circle,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: touching this this trophy, standing next to the car, standing
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: next to the winner and taking a picture because it
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: was it was It was awesome. I mean, I don't
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: think you could buy that experience.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: You got the most random fans that are like you
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: got some pretty big people that are fans of the show,
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: which I always find pretty interesting, like a listers that
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: are fans of the show, which is yet cool.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: It was probably again in the beginning, Tarmra was invited
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: to a gifting suite there in Beverly Hills.
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: I think at the Beverly Hilton. Have you ever attended those? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: so it's pretty cool, right, yeah. And we're walking.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: In and out of you know, rooms or given us
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: free stuff, and I'm like, why are you giving us
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: free stuff? We can afford to buy this. It doesn't
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: make any sense give it away to people that can't
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: afford it. But uh, when you're a celebrity, you're always
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: going to get free shit because you can promote it,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: exactly right. I didn't know that at the time. So
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: there's this one moment where we're walking into another room
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: and as we're walking in walking out comes Christina Aguilera
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: and she loses her shit over camera and she's like,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: oh my.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: God, you're my favorite housewife.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: I'm just standing back, I'm looking at this. I'm like,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: you know, you're a big deal, Christina, What.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: Is happening right now? Exactly?
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: And that was the first time I've ever ever experienced that.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: And you know, I love Christina. She's an amazing singer
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: and artist. And my wife was even in shock herself.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: They took a picture and it was a pretty cool experience,
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: You know, I love that.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: It's probably because she's so down to earth, but there's
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: so many A listers and people on TV that think
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: their shit doesn't stink. Even on our show, there's people
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: that have this reputation where they go in public and
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: they're like, no, I don't want to take a picture
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: with you, No, I don't have time. I absolutely buys
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: those people. I can't stand those people. So I never
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: ever have said no to a picture or anybody that
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: approaches us. Even my wife is really good about it.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: She just yeah, yeah, it's part of reality, you know.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: The people really believe they know you, you know, And I
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: think I think that's where the value is in this
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: reality TV shows, Like they believe everything they see on TV. Yeah. So, Edwin,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: question for you, if if Teddy was to be cast
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: for the Beverly Hills Housewife show again, would you go back?
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: I would love to, And then I think she would
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: crush it. This time around. I think she needs a
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: lot more comfortable. I think people will get to see
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: more of herself, you know. I think the first year
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: it was a lot of herself. I think the second
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: year she was probably a little more in her head
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: about it. And then obviously the thirty years she was pregnant,
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: so that changes a lot of things obviously, but I
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: think this year she would know where she's that today
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: she would absolutely crush it. So I would love to
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: see her back in that. She would just be so
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: good at it and people would get to see the
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: real Teddy, you know, not the edit.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: The edit.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: I wasn't happy with the edit they gave her on
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: the third year because there was so many cool things
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: that we did and they just they had this edit
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: of her being born just because that's what Sutton said, Yeah,
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: and they there was scenes where she was not like
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: she was nowhere near born, Like some of the stuff
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: that she said was like would make you just die laughing,
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: and they never showed that, and you know, that's the
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: power of the edit. But I think now she goes back,
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: she would she would crush that show. So I would
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: I would love to see that, you know. I mean,
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: I mean you're seeing it on the podcast right like
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: she's she is who she is, Like, that's who I
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: know is the person in the podcast.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: I have a in an addition to that question, what if
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: she was cast for the Orange County show?
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: What do you think about that? You know we have
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: a house in OC as well. I know my daughter
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: lives in OC My oldest daughter lives in OLC.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: So that means actually he's in the pod, would be
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: doing it together.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: I actually don't mind c to tell you the truth,
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: so you know, we'll see, just throwing that out there
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: with you.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: So yeah, kind of fun, right, Yeah, I've learned that
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: I can hang out with certain house husbands.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: We will. You know, David was one of.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Them, maybe the only one, and we had a lot
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: in common. He was in YPO, as you know, he's
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: a great organization that just brings entrepreneurs together.
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: He was a spartan and he's just just a cool guy.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: I really really enjoyed him, and we traveled to Vegas
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: together to go through spart and races. I really enjoy him.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: If you could do a husband's of housewife show, what
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: other husbands would you pick to be on with you?
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: And obviously you and I would be on it, but
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: who else?
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: Maurice is a fun dude. Man. That guy is charismatic,
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: He's he just you have a blast with that guy.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: So he definitely would be one.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: You know, I'm so bad with the names of of
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: but you know what I like. I love the Utah
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: guys quite a bit. I think the guys are pretty cool.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: We've hung out with them a couple of times. I'm
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: blanking on one of their names, Sean. I like Sean
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: a lot, a lot too. I got to know him
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: very well in San Francisco. Really cool guy, very down
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: to earth, successful and doesn't let all that shake. Is
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: really cool to hang out too. I mean those obviously
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: hung out with those guys going the show. Yeah, both
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: of those guys are fun.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: You know, did you hang out outside to filming with
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: PK and.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: For you know, we were always supposed to. I was
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: just so busy at the time, and you know, I'm
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: sure he was busy, and I probably could have done
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: a better effort of like going to some of the spots,
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: you know, But at the time, I was just like
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: so focused on work that I didn't really get a
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: chance to hang out with him as much, but I
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: totally could. He's He's a funny dude, both, I mean,
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: both of them, very witty. Yeah, Charlie a choice.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: I've been fortunate enough to know Joe Gorgo since the startling.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: He's he sounds like a great guy too. The few
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: times I've hung out with him.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: Super cool, He's definitely not shy camera and and business.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: Bravol Khan that we attended, you were there, I really
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: got to know the guys and all the guys, well
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: not all the guys Jersey housewives, but all the Joe's
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: and and the guys that I hung out with are
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: super super cool. I could totally do a show with them. Yeah,
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: I mean we could just we had a great time
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: together and they're so funny and so chill.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: I can see a show that. Yeah. Yeah, you know
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: I've actually hung out with is the Vanderpub Rules guys.
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, those guys, I've hung out quite a bit.
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: They're young, like they're they're like forty two. So I've
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: hung out with Jack's before. You know, he's fun. We
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: went to a couple you know.
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: RAM games and oh cool bo Bo and i Bo
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: is a big Rams fan, so we hang out pretty
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: much at every Rams game. Uh yeah. And then you
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: know Teddy and STOSSI are pretty close. So I've hung
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: out with those guys, you know, quite a bit. I've actually,
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: I'll be hung out with those guys more than I have.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I did find it's difficult to hang
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: out with house husbands because even with David, we had
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: a situation one time where when they were getting when
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: he was finally divorcing Shannon, Shannon was manipulating the situation
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: and Tamra was, you know, defending Shannon and making you know,
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: bad comments about David, and David you know, reach out
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: to me. He's like, Bro, we can't be friends if
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: your wife's going to be talking shit on me. And
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: I'm like, hey, I get it, bro, you know this
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: is this is I can't control this. And I apologize
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: to him. And we didn't talk for probably six months,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: but to date, you know, we always connect. We always
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: you know, on holidays, and he's just such a cool cat.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: I really really like David. Maybe we can have him
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: on the podcast one day. Yeah we should.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you'll like him a lot, primarily because
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: not just because he's a house husband, but he could
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: but I don't know if he still is in White Po,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: but he was in White Po when he was on
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: the show.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd love to meet him for sure. Awesome. Awesome,
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: Well that's our show, guys, that's our show. Awesome, Mark,
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: it's great catching up with you, Edwin. Always great catching
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: up with you. I mean this flew by. We could
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: keep going. But and to the audience great questions, we
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: didn't even get to all of them, so keep sending
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: these in and what We're having the blast doing this,
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: So thank you for your support and thank you for listening.
