- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, everybody. Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a bonus episode
- 0:14Speaker 1: of Long Story Short the podcast. I'm Megan, I'm Wendy,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and today we're discussing Sealed with a Kiss. Wedding March
- 0:23Speaker 1: sixth in Hallmarks Summer Night's part due in August. And Wendy,
- 0:31Speaker 1: do you have a synopsis of this movie?
- 0:33Speaker 2: Yes, ma'am, I do. Let me get to it. It's
- 0:37Speaker 2: the modest wedding plans of a celebrity and his down
- 0:41Speaker 2: to earth fiance escalate while Mick gets an enticing opportunity,
- 0:46Speaker 2: Olivia won't let him refuse, putting their own big day
- 0:49Speaker 2: in Jeopardy. Stars Jack Wagner, Jersey Bassett, Caitlin Striker, and
- 0:55Speaker 2: Nathan Witt.
- 0:58Speaker 1: All Right, this movie, there's my first impression. Yeah, look,
- 1:04Speaker 1: my first impression. Were we supposed to do first impressions.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Before we were supposed to do news and notes first?
- 1:09Speaker 1: Dang it, you threw me off.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. News and Notes. Yeah.
- 1:16Speaker 2: This is the sixth and final installment in the Wedding
- 1:19Speaker 2: March series.
- 1:24Speaker 1: This movie was filmed as are many in British Columbia,
- 1:29Speaker 1: and the fictional Willow Lake is the real Rowena is
- 1:34Speaker 1: in on the River in Harrison Mills, British Columbia, which
- 1:38Speaker 1: looked real cute, really cute, and they do have wedding packages,
- 1:42Speaker 1: so if you would like to get married there. I
- 1:45Speaker 1: honestly think that was perhaps the best part of this
- 1:47Speaker 1: movie was the location. I think a wedding there would
- 1:49Speaker 1: be absolutely beautiful. And they have filmed previous installments of
- 1:53Speaker 1: this movie as well as scenes from some other Hallmark
- 1:59Speaker 1: movies at this location. So there is a website called
- 2:03Speaker 1: scene on Hallmark SCE and E and they kind of
- 2:07Speaker 1: break down some of the locations and I made me
- 2:10Speaker 1: really want to go there.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I was like, that looks fun, I mean fun
- 2:15Speaker 2: in a relaxing way, right, you know. I was so pretty,
- 2:19Speaker 2: it was so pretty. Ary film being wrapped in this
- 2:22Speaker 2: movie on May thirty first, twenty twenty one, so I'm
- 2:26Speaker 2: sure COVID played a part because apparently from all the
- 2:30Speaker 2: things I read, they were missing major characters from this
- 2:34Speaker 2: installment of the franchise.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I did read that too, and they do these on
- 2:40Speaker 1: a real tight turnaround. I mean May thirty first. This
- 2:43Speaker 1: movie came out August what's today, I don't know. It
- 2:47Speaker 1: came out the five days ago, so they turned these
- 2:51Speaker 1: around in like two months, which is I think pretty quick.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And it also explains why they have placeholders in the
- 2:59Speaker 1: Hallmark Movie app, like they don't have the full photos
- 3:04Speaker 1: because they're just churning these movies out right as they're do.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Right. I saw a commercial for not the next movie,
- 3:14Speaker 2: not this Weekend's movie, but the one after that. It's
- 3:16Speaker 2: like Peakan Summer some whatever. Anyway, I think it's the
- 3:21Speaker 2: first time I actually ever saw a commercial for it,
- 3:24Speaker 2: and I was like, Oh, that person's in this so
- 3:27Speaker 2: and I honestly at this I can't even remember who's
- 3:31Speaker 2: in it. We'll get to it in two weeks. But
- 3:33Speaker 2: I was kind of surprised, like, oh, they finally got
- 3:35Speaker 2: a commercial out for this, for this bad Boy. And
- 3:38Speaker 2: I think in the app too, it didn't have a
- 3:41Speaker 2: like a picture, you know, like correct promotion.
- 3:44Speaker 1: The Sweet Pecan Summer still has a stock photo and
- 3:49Speaker 1: it's of iced tea. Guys, Like, it's not even I
- 3:52Speaker 1: don't really understand. Oh, Daytime Drama finally has their real image.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I said, it's of iced tea, and I pictured the
- 4:02Speaker 2: rapper iced tea. I was like, why that's weird?
- 4:09Speaker 1: Straight off a set of blue bloods. What's the show?
- 4:12Speaker 2: He's it's like a CSI or A. It's not a CSI.
- 4:17Speaker 2: It's in CIS or no that what is it? I
- 4:21Speaker 2: think it's Law and Order.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Maybe. Oh my gosh, people are screaming at us again,
- 4:26Speaker 1: and there cars, but it still has a stock image.
- 4:30Speaker 1: They have updated next week's a little daytime drama to
- 4:33Speaker 1: include photos of the actors in it.
- 4:35Speaker 2: So now I'm actually very excited about too, very excited.
- 4:39Speaker 2: And it's there's Linda Dana, who was like a huge
- 4:42Speaker 2: soap star. I think I could be wrong. Yes, Linda Dano,
- 4:49Speaker 2: well known for her roles in daytime drama Wan Life
- 4:52Speaker 2: to Live in Another World, five Time Daytime Emmy Award winner.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Huh, well, that's excited. I am excited. I like gen
- 5:01Speaker 1: Lily who stars in next week's movie. But back to
- 5:02Speaker 1: this week's movie. Do you have anything else in news
- 5:04Speaker 1: and Notes?
- 5:06Speaker 2: No, but listen, I want to read one little IMDBI review.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I have one too, go ahead, I wonder if the
- 5:12Speaker 1: same one? Okay?
- 5:13Speaker 2: Are you ready?
- 5:14Speaker 1: I am?
- 5:16Speaker 2: Okay. Hallmark needs better ideas than spoiled brides who think
- 5:20Speaker 2: life revolves around them. Plus it needs to get out
- 5:23Speaker 2: of the PC business and stop trying to make everyone woke.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I took a screenshot of the very same review. I
- 5:32Speaker 1: read the reviews mostly because, look, this is the sixth
- 5:35Speaker 1: movie in a series. We haven't seen any of the others.
- 5:38Speaker 1: There's some diehard hallmarkies, and so I thought maybe they
- 5:40Speaker 1: would have some thoughts on this this, which is why
- 5:42Speaker 1: I originally went to the reviews. First of all, the
- 5:45Speaker 1: bride is not spoiled. We will get into that, but
- 5:48Speaker 1: at no point are are there of the brides in
- 5:50Speaker 1: this movie acting like spoiled brats at all? M M?
- 5:52Speaker 1: I agree, and excuse me?
- 5:54Speaker 2: What about this movie is woke? Other than the fact that.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Not every character is white?
- 5:58Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 5:59Speaker 1: They don't address a single social issue in the movie.
- 6:03Speaker 1: They're not discussing the fact that we have multi racial relationships.
- 6:08Speaker 1: They're not talking about the issues that an actor of
- 6:11Speaker 1: color might have needing to work harder than a white actor.
- 6:15Speaker 1: There's none of that. It's just not everybody's white. So
- 6:18Speaker 1: this person can sit the hell down. I did notice
- 6:22Speaker 1: that they got two thumbs down on the review.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Oh they did, I know, well, I was gonna sign
- 6:27Speaker 2: in and reply to it.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I tried to click thumbs down and you had to
- 6:30Speaker 1: sign in, and I don't have an IMDb account, and
- 6:32Speaker 1: that was too much work for me. But I am
- 6:34Speaker 1: thumbs down and you hear good sir, And oh it's
- 6:38Speaker 1: a dude. It's a dude.
- 6:39Speaker 2: You think so?
- 6:40Speaker 1: Did you look?
- 6:41Speaker 2: No?
- 6:42Speaker 1: But I just think so.
- 6:43Speaker 2: You know what, I can read all this person's reviews. Now,
- 6:47Speaker 2: I just clicked on their name. What is this? Oh
- 6:51Speaker 2: my god? They left a review on the TV show
- 6:57Speaker 2: This is Us. Oh no, and it says, quote, won't
- 7:00Speaker 2: waste my time. Fat is not an option, no place
- 7:04Speaker 2: on TV.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Oh this person is a horrible human. Yeah.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, Hamilton trying to rewrite history. Don't waste
- 7:14Speaker 2: your time on this huge pile of garbage. Oh my god,
- 7:18Speaker 2: I'm gonna my head's gonna explode.
- 7:20Speaker 1: This person is outing themselves as severely racist in addition
- 7:25Speaker 1: to being fat phobic, and I'm sure every other possible.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. Okay, the twenty seven Hour Day, which
- 7:33Speaker 2: we really liked, right rees, was horrible in this one.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Extremely tired of Homewark trying to force political correctness down
- 7:41Speaker 2: my throat with mixed race couples. Wow. No, oh no
- 7:46Speaker 2: racism is alive and well on the IMDb reviews.
- 7:49Speaker 1: So wow, that's God. That's painful to read it is?
- 7:53Speaker 2: I mean, I just I want to like respond, I
- 8:00Speaker 2: can't say people like that. Sorry. If you are a
- 8:02Speaker 2: listener and you feel the same way, please see yourself
- 8:05Speaker 2: out because we're not like that around here. So bye.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Indeed indeed, So all right, let's get back to this movie.
- 8:13Speaker 1: So first impressions. My first impression is I haven't seen
- 8:22Speaker 1: the previous five movies, so I don't think I have
- 8:24Speaker 1: the appreciation for this movie that someone else may have.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 8:30Speaker 1: So that's my It's not a chicking in halfway through.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Yeah, did you come across Annie reviews from any other
- 8:37Speaker 2: hallmarkies who were like this was a great ending to
- 8:39Speaker 2: this series or they were disappointed or anything.
- 8:43Speaker 1: So I continued scrolling the IMDb reviews, and many of
- 8:47Speaker 1: them said, finally this series has come to an end.
- 8:50Speaker 1: We did not need six movies. And while I haven't
- 8:53Speaker 1: seen the previous five, I would agree that it's highly
- 8:55Speaker 1: unlikely that you needed six movies to wrap up this
- 8:57Speaker 1: particular love story that's twelve hours about Mecan Olivia. Right, Yeah,
- 9:03Speaker 1: so I would agree with that, even though I haven't
- 9:07Speaker 1: seen them. I'm going out on a limb and saying
- 9:09Speaker 1: that's probably true. There were some people who liked it,
- 9:12Speaker 1: but I think the lots of people felt like we've
- 9:16Speaker 1: perhaps drawn this story out, and the ones that were
- 9:19Speaker 1: very invested in making Olivia, there were some people that
- 9:22Speaker 1: were quite upset that they were not the focus of
- 9:24Speaker 1: this movie.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Oh I mean, you think they should be in like
- 9:28Speaker 2: the series finale or whatever, Right, well, so, oh, go ahead.
- 9:33Speaker 1: It's also the previews led me to believe that it
- 9:36Speaker 1: was going to be about Jack Wagner and Josie Bissett's characters,
- 9:41Speaker 1: and I really loved it.
- 9:43Speaker 2: My first impression is m And like you said, I
- 9:48Speaker 2: haven't seen the previous five movies, so the only thing
- 9:52Speaker 2: I can compare it to are the two other summer
- 9:55Speaker 2: movies that we've watched and really liked in August, and
- 10:00Speaker 2: and this one really falls short of compared to how
- 10:04Speaker 2: good those two were.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I agree. So now that said, what did we like
- 10:10Speaker 1: about this movie?
- 10:12Speaker 2: It was a real stretch for me to come up
- 10:14Speaker 2: with my list of two things. Okay, the pretty wisteria
- 10:18Speaker 2: flowers in the scenery, the scenery that's it. I agree
- 10:25Speaker 2: with all of that.
- 10:26Speaker 1: It was a beautiful movie to watch. The setting was
- 10:29Speaker 1: really made it. The things that I liked, you know,
- 10:33Speaker 1: I actually liked the wedding dress montage, even though she
- 10:35Speaker 1: hated all the dresses. I oh, wedding dress try on
- 10:39Speaker 1: situation brought out some beautiful dresses, so that was fun.
- 10:42Speaker 1: And then what I really liked were the side characters
- 10:47Speaker 1: Dev and his wife whose name I don't know and
- 10:50Speaker 1: she's not listed on the IMDb. Her name is Chloe,
- 10:54Speaker 1: but that's not her name in the movie. I don't
- 10:55Speaker 1: know her name, And I felt like they were the
- 10:58Speaker 1: truth tellers and they were the friends that said the
- 11:01Speaker 1: things that needed to be said. And there's a moment
- 11:05Speaker 1: where Autumn says, what happens to me? Do I just
- 11:08Speaker 1: become an extension of Kurt in his career and her
- 11:12Speaker 1: friend says, that's up to you and not Kurt and
- 11:15Speaker 1: Dev multiple times, there's one time when Kurt saying audom
- 11:19Speaker 1: can say no to any of this at any time.
- 11:21Speaker 1: He says, why would you put her in that position
- 11:23Speaker 1: to have to say no?
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah, And later on.
- 11:26Speaker 1: He says, I wish you would have run that house.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Thing passed me first where he buys a house in
- 11:30Speaker 1: Malibu without discussing with her, and I would like to
- 11:32Speaker 1: discuss the house in Malibu later on in this episode.
- 11:34Speaker 1: But okay, I liked that they said all of those things,
- 11:40Speaker 1: and so often we see in these movies that the
- 11:43Speaker 1: hard conversations just never get had, and they people continued
- 11:47Speaker 1: to be upset, and they played the role of making
- 11:51Speaker 1: sure that those things are being said so that we
- 11:52Speaker 1: could move this conflict forward, right.
- 11:55Speaker 2: I really liked his friend, what's his name, Dev Dev's
- 11:58Speaker 2: that we said at one point. I don't remember the conversation,
- 12:01Speaker 2: but all de Dev said in response was bro I.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Was like, that somes of that, dude, what did you
- 12:09Speaker 1: wish for?
- 12:10Speaker 2: Well, let me turn to my notes here. Here's what
- 12:14Speaker 2: I really wished for, as someone who hasn't seen any
- 12:17Speaker 2: of the other movies. If you're going to include a
- 12:20Speaker 2: franchise movie within the Summer Night lineup, you got to
- 12:24Speaker 2: provide some sort of backstory of like what happened, how
- 12:28Speaker 2: we got here at the beginning, so that like all
- 12:31Speaker 2: of us non wedding movie watchers know what the hell's happening,
- 12:35Speaker 2: Because like, at one point, I was like, who are
- 12:37Speaker 2: these people like I don't know any backstory, like Mick
- 12:40Speaker 2: and Olivia, and then they throw in Kurt and what's
- 12:45Speaker 2: her name Kurt's.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Fiance Oha, oh no, Curt, and Autumn Autumn.
- 12:51Speaker 2: I was like, who are these people? So it just it.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I was very confused. I just wish it had some
- 12:58Speaker 2: sort of like, here's where we're at.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Right there was another movie and I can't figure out
- 13:04Speaker 1: which one it is at the moment, but there was
- 13:06Speaker 1: another movie this year that was also a sequel or
- 13:11Speaker 1: part of a series, and they didn't do that. They're
- 13:17Speaker 1: either they need, they need the backstory, they need the
- 13:20Speaker 1: previously on. They did do a montage of making Olivia
- 13:23Speaker 1: at the end, but that doesn't tell me anything about
- 13:25Speaker 1: their relationship. And she does briefly talk about, you know,
- 13:29Speaker 1: some of their struggles in their path to this point.
- 13:32Speaker 1: But we're six movies in. Even if everyone has been
- 13:36Speaker 1: watching these movies, it's been at least six months a
- 13:39Speaker 1: year since they've seen the previous installment, So remind the
- 13:42Speaker 1: people what is happening.
- 13:44Speaker 2: I just think it should have been a standalone, a
- 13:47Speaker 2: standalone movie, not not like a It should be not
- 13:50Speaker 2: that movie. No, it should just not be within the
- 13:53Speaker 2: Summer Night's lineup. It's just been like a when summer
- 13:58Speaker 2: the Summer Night's lineup is over and they need a
- 14:00Speaker 2: transition movie. I like it, you know whatever.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I wish. Yeah, tell me that the writers hadn't thrown
- 14:09Speaker 1: every single possible thing that can go wrong in a wedding.
- 14:13Speaker 1: It is not believable that the dress would be ruined,
- 14:16Speaker 1: the caterers would cancel, the cake would cancel, there's not
- 14:18Speaker 1: enough flowers. None of this is believable. It's not believable
- 14:23Speaker 1: that you would look at a picture and not realize
- 14:25Speaker 1: that there's beating on the dress.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Which is beating. That dress was so pretty when she
- 14:31Speaker 2: tried it on the one that was ordered whatever that
- 14:35Speaker 2: came and she was like, oh, there's beating on it.
- 14:37Speaker 2: It was so beautiful on her.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Well, all of those dresses looks good on her. But
- 14:40Speaker 1: I tried on. I was like, Okay, I mean, I
- 14:43Speaker 1: guess you want to love your dress. So it's fine
- 14:45Speaker 1: that she didn't like it.
- 14:46Speaker 2: But yeah, but if you're desperate in two days before
- 14:48Speaker 2: your wedding, aren't you going to take something instead of nothing?
- 14:54Speaker 1: I would not have walked out of there with nothing. Yeah,
- 14:56Speaker 1: I just don't like the everything that can go wrong
- 14:58Speaker 1: will go wrong. There was a previous wedding movie and
- 15:03Speaker 1: they did the same thing. They just kept throwing wrenches
- 15:06Speaker 1: into the system, and there's got to be a better
- 15:10Speaker 1: way to create conflict.
- 15:11Speaker 2: I agree, Like it was just so silly, but I
- 15:15Speaker 2: did enjoy when they went to the Artsy Tartsy Yes
- 15:20Speaker 2: to try those wedding cake combinations. I thought that was
- 15:24Speaker 2: pretty funny. I mean, I god, I hope those aren't
- 15:28Speaker 2: real like flavor combinations because this sounds awful, but it
- 15:31Speaker 2: was pretty dang funny.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I agree. I see are you ready for did you
- 15:37Speaker 1: see that?
- 15:38Speaker 2: Yeah? And you're gonna have to go. I just have
- 15:40Speaker 2: mostly questions in this segment here, but go ahead, all right.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Well, first, did you happen to notice the giant bow
- 15:47Speaker 1: tie on Kurt when you tried on his tucks?
- 15:49Speaker 2: I actually really liked it, did you. I you know,
- 15:53Speaker 2: that's so funny that you brought that up, because I
- 15:55Speaker 2: was watching it and I was like, okay, yes, it's big,
- 15:59Speaker 2: and okay sort of clownish. But is that is that
- 16:03Speaker 2: like a trend a style to have like a really
- 16:06Speaker 2: big bow tie?
- 16:07Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 16:07Speaker 2: I thought I kind of liked it.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I wondered, also, is that the trend? I do not
- 16:11Speaker 1: know the answer to that question, but I maybe that's
- 16:16Speaker 1: the look. It was noticeably large to me, and.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I found it distracting. You're so funny.
- 16:26Speaker 1: My next question is how many wedding stores does this tiny,
- 16:28Speaker 1: little remote town have?
- 16:31Speaker 2: I like three or four? I think right right.
- 16:33Speaker 1: They go to two and then they say, do we
- 16:35Speaker 1: have any other options? And she goes, well, just a couple.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Just a couple, and we don't have time today. We're
- 16:42Speaker 2: gonna have to go tomorrow. And I was like, no,
- 16:44Speaker 2: you hit every store? Yeah, until it gets dark. Yeah,
- 16:51Speaker 2: that was weird.
- 16:51Speaker 1: It's gonna need to be altered. Probably, it's not gonna
- 16:53Speaker 1: fit off the rack.
- 16:54Speaker 2: What are we doing? What are we doing? And then
- 16:59Speaker 2: of course the dress she ends up giving her from
- 17:01Speaker 2: her own closet fits perfectly, of course, and it was beautiful.
- 17:05Speaker 1: I did love that.
- 17:06Speaker 2: I did love it too, and thought she looked beautiful
- 17:09Speaker 2: as a bride, like I loved what they did with
- 17:11Speaker 2: her hair. Oh, I have a digit see that that
- 17:15Speaker 2: I didn't write down. When they went to go get
- 17:17Speaker 2: their hair and makeup trial, the woman that was doing
- 17:23Speaker 2: Autumn's hair was comby through her hair like she was
- 17:27Speaker 2: looking for lice. It was like not enjoyable. She was
- 17:30Speaker 2: just like like just thumby through her curls. And I
- 17:34Speaker 2: just was like, really, can you can you make it
- 17:37Speaker 2: look more enjoyable or something?
- 17:41Speaker 1: Well I noticed that too, and you know, Autumn has
- 17:44Speaker 1: those beautiful curls, so obviously they didn't want to be
- 17:46Speaker 1: doing anything with her hair because it would ruin her curls.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:50Speaker 1: I was thinking about that scene because they needed to
- 17:52Speaker 1: have the hairdresser doing something but couldn't it wouldn't it
- 17:54Speaker 1: make more sense if she was like working on her
- 17:56Speaker 1: eyemakeup or sitting there with a Hallett in her hand
- 17:59Speaker 1: and uh huh.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Like I understand they don't.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Want her actively doing her makeup in the scene because
- 18:03Speaker 1: they're having a conversation, but yeah, just the standing there
- 18:06Speaker 1: just oh, touch her hair. I'm trying to like, you're
- 18:07Speaker 1: doing something. It didn't work, particularly with Autumn's hairstyle, like
- 18:12Speaker 1: if she had you know, she had these beautiful curls
- 18:14Speaker 1: that they couldn't ruin. So yeah, rethink that scene, folks.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Yeah, and then they're like, you need to wear your
- 18:20Speaker 2: hair up. And then the next scene. When it's done,
- 18:22Speaker 2: it's just like the side is like bad, down, stupid, and.
- 18:29Speaker 1: We're meant to believe that she's being talked into something
- 18:31Speaker 1: she doesn't want, which okay, but then it's not actually up.
- 18:34Speaker 2: They just maybe they kind a scene perhaps maybe maybe Okay,
- 18:40Speaker 2: what else did you see?
- 18:42Speaker 1: Do you remember in the Winter movies when we got
- 18:45Speaker 1: digital snow? Yes, did you notice the digital flower pedals?
- 18:49Speaker 2: What the hell was that?
- 18:52Speaker 1: And what's weird is they did actually have real flower
- 18:55Speaker 1: pedals because at one point the publicist gets kind of
- 18:57Speaker 1: hit with one in the face, so you can see
- 18:59Speaker 1: them in the pulled back scenes you can see the
- 19:03Speaker 1: flower petals kind of raining down. But in the close
- 19:06Speaker 1: up scenes of Kurt and Autum, those are definitely digital petals.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Like what is that necessary for? Like would you want
- 19:14Speaker 2: petals raining down on you? And it's not even like
- 19:17Speaker 2: a drizzle. It was like a full snowstorm of petals
- 19:22Speaker 2: during your like ceremony, Right.
- 19:24Speaker 1: That's an exit situation, not a let me throw these
- 19:29Speaker 1: at you.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Well you're saying your vows, I will say, Like in
- 19:32Speaker 2: the wide shot it looked beautiful, but then but then
- 19:36Speaker 2: like when they did the close up shots and it
- 19:38Speaker 2: was obviously digital. It was like what what, why? Why
- 19:42Speaker 2: is that happening? Right?
- 19:43Speaker 1: You know, they were thinking, you know, it's so pretty
- 19:45Speaker 1: when the snowfalls on their faces in these close up scenes.
- 19:48Speaker 1: How can we make that work for summer?
- 19:51Speaker 2: It's stupid. Don't do that, guys.
- 19:54Speaker 1: We need to talk about the Malibu Michigan situation. Yeah,
- 19:58Speaker 1: So in the car driving to the wedding, he's like,
- 20:02Speaker 1: I don't want to talk about it. She's like, well,
- 20:03Speaker 1: we kind of need to. And she wants to live
- 20:06Speaker 1: in Michigan. He wants to live in la And I
- 20:09Speaker 1: understand both of those points of view, And how have
- 20:11Speaker 1: we got into a week before the wedding and we
- 20:12Speaker 1: haven't solved this problem because it's quite a large one.
- 20:16Speaker 1: And he's an actor. So if they decide to live
- 20:20Speaker 1: in Michigan, which they ultimately do, he's never going to
- 20:23Speaker 1: be home. And then he buys a house in Malibu
- 20:29Speaker 1: without discussing it with her. Now, California real estate is
- 20:32Speaker 1: Banana's expensive anyway, Malibu is next level, Like, he did
- 20:37Speaker 1: not buy a house in Malibu for less than ten
- 20:39Speaker 1: million dollars. And he's an up and coming actor and
- 20:42Speaker 1: she's a children's book author, she has her own career,
- 20:44Speaker 1: but we're expected to believe they have this fu Malibu
- 20:47Speaker 1: house money. I don't believe it. I don't buy it.
- 20:53Speaker 1: And then they keep the Malibu house for their occasional
- 20:58Speaker 1: weekend retreat.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Oh no, they don't. I was like, is he Tom Cruise? Like,
- 21:04Speaker 2: who the hell? What kind of actor is he? An
- 21:07Speaker 2: up and coming the actor doesn't have that kind of money.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Give me house in the valley money.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Valley village. Oh that is so funny.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Gosh.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Yeah. And then btw, I would not want to be
- 21:25Speaker 2: taking my honeymoon to Michigan to house hunt. No offense
- 21:29Speaker 2: to Michigan, but I want to go on like Tahiti
- 21:33Speaker 2: or wherever, Bahamas, wherever they were planning on going. Yeah,
- 21:37Speaker 2: give me, there's lakes there, I get it. I'm sure
- 21:42Speaker 2: it's awesome, But I would not want to go on
- 21:44Speaker 2: my honeymoon there. Not if I'm married to a rich
- 21:48Speaker 2: actor who can afford a Malibu home. I want to
- 21:51Speaker 2: go to the to that where is it where you
- 21:54Speaker 2: get like a hut on top of the ocean.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Right with your own private swimming pool attached?
- 21:59Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, That's where I'm going in my private jet. Yeah, exactly.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I'm supposed to believe like an up and coming actor
- 22:09Speaker 2: is trying to dodge the paparazzi, Which is paparazzi even
- 22:14Speaker 2: a thing anymore in twenty twenty one, now that everybody
- 22:16Speaker 2: else just takes pictures of celebrities.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I think it certainly is, But I also think they're
- 22:23Speaker 1: not hunting you down in wherever this remote wedding is.
- 22:28Speaker 1: And also your point to are they really in that
- 22:36Speaker 1: big of demand? It seems to me that they would
- 22:39Speaker 1: be he the actor and the publicist would be like, Hey,
- 22:42Speaker 1: this would be great for my career if I could
- 22:44Speaker 1: get them here to yeah, to shoot my wedding, not
- 22:49Speaker 1: the other way around.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Right. I have a question. Am I really supposed to
- 22:54Speaker 2: believe that Mick is a rock star who is going
- 22:57Speaker 2: out on opening tour for some some other band.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I mean, do they say rock star or a musician?
- 23:05Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I don't know. I just assumed rockstar. But then when
- 23:09Speaker 2: he sang that song to Olivia, I was like, what's happening?
- 23:14Speaker 2: That sounds like something that would happen at a pizza parlor.
- 23:18Speaker 2: I don't you know what I mean? Like it was
- 23:20Speaker 2: so weird. I was like, first of all, I can't
- 23:21Speaker 2: even understand what he's saying, and he's like hunched over
- 23:24Speaker 2: this guitar Like, I was like, what is happening? Is
- 23:28Speaker 2: he a musician like in real life? Jack Wagner?
- 23:31Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 23:32Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to google this. Hold on, give me
- 23:34Speaker 2: a second. I have like a feeling he is, oh
- 23:37Speaker 2: because his Wikipedia has him playing a guitar, so maybe
- 23:42Speaker 2: singing in stage what? He had a single that reached
- 23:46Speaker 2: number two on the Billboard Hot one hundred in nineteen
- 23:51Speaker 2: eighty five. All I need never heard Whoa. He's got
- 23:55Speaker 2: like eight albums Whoa? Yeah, not that I know. I'm
- 24:00Speaker 2: gonna have to listen to this song because I don't know.
- 24:03Speaker 1: I mean not now, but well, this is former General
- 24:05Speaker 1: Hospital soap opera star Jack Wagner is sure to have
- 24:08Speaker 1: the lady sitting up straight as he displays an equal
- 24:10Speaker 1: passion for sharing his less dysfunctional Americana style country music.
- 24:15Speaker 1: I buy that type of music from him.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Wow, yeah, yeah, I'm just curious if I just couldn't
- 24:26Speaker 2: like what he's gonna go. He looked like he needed
- 24:29Speaker 2: like a walker, Like I don't want to be ageist
- 24:34Speaker 2: or anything here. But he looked like a grandpa. Right.
- 24:41Speaker 1: He looks older than Josie Bissett, although I think he.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Is like eleven years older than him. Oh okay, no,
- 24:48Speaker 2: he is eleven years older than she is. He's sixty one, yes,
- 24:53Speaker 2: and she's like fifty.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I think this set was well lit though.
- 25:00Speaker 1: I'll tell you that I thought that, Yeah, something I.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Couldn't stop staring at his face. I was like something
- 25:05Speaker 2: that was so different about it. And even when they
- 25:09Speaker 2: showed that montage of them at the end, I was like, hey,
- 25:12Speaker 2: he looks pretty handsome in these like earlier movies. I mean,
- 25:16Speaker 2: he is a handsome man. Like he was real hot
- 25:18Speaker 2: when he was on melrose Place when he played the
- 25:21Speaker 2: evil Doctor.
- 25:21Speaker 1: But oh that's right.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Yes, these two were both on melrose Place at one time.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I don't know if they were ever. I don't think
- 25:29Speaker 2: they were ever together though, Like they never were a
- 25:33Speaker 2: couple on melrose Place. But yeah, anyway, yeah, he was
- 25:37Speaker 2: with Heather Locklear a bunch anyway. I don't know. It
- 25:42Speaker 2: just was like, I don't know, I don't know.
- 25:48Speaker 1: The flowers in the wedding scene must have cost an
- 25:54Speaker 1: absolute fortune.
- 25:56Speaker 2: They were so pretty, that was so pretty, was.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Beautiful, But that must have cost a fortune, like their
- 26:03Speaker 1: simple little outdoor country wedding, and then they've got twenty
- 26:07Speaker 1: thousand dollars wheth the flowers right there?
- 26:09Speaker 2: Well, I mean think about the movie as a whole.
- 26:13Speaker 2: It was almost all at that on location, at that
- 26:17Speaker 2: house right right. They didn't have any other sets or whatever.
- 26:21Speaker 2: So maybe they were able to have an extra budget
- 26:24Speaker 2: to pay for for those real flowers.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Yeah. So in their Vows, Olivia's in mix that he
- 26:33Speaker 1: struggled so hard to write. He ends up saying, there
- 26:36Speaker 1: are no words for what you mean to me, sir,
- 26:38Speaker 1: try to find some words, and she says, those are
- 26:42Speaker 1: the best things you ever could have said to me.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Excuse me, there are no words for what you mean
- 26:47Speaker 2: to me. Yeah, those are your wedding dows.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Dig deep, buddy, dig deeper. I know the writers were
- 26:53Speaker 1: like tapped out. They're like, we got nothing, We got nothing.
- 26:56Speaker 2: We wrote ourselves into a hole.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Because he's been struggling to write his vows tire movie
- 27:00Speaker 1: and now we have to come up with something great
- 27:03Speaker 1: and we can't. So how do we do that?
- 27:04Speaker 2: Yes? Yes, I'm really curious. Why has it been six
- 27:07Speaker 2: movies until they finally got married, Like what did they
- 27:11Speaker 2: have wedding disaster every single movie? Or did they like
- 27:15Speaker 2: meet each other in movie one? And then you know,
- 27:19Speaker 2: like what's the story, what's the backstory?
- 27:21Speaker 1: And I'm not sure I care six movies worth. I'm
- 27:23Speaker 1: pretty sure I'm tapped out around movie three. You can't
- 27:25Speaker 1: get these people together. I'm out. It's seriously, seriously, Okay,
- 27:30Speaker 1: let's talk about the scene that made me laugh out loud,
- 27:33Speaker 1: and that's the fireworks. The fireworks. Oh loves the fireworks. Okay,
- 27:38Speaker 1: go ahead, go ahead, And then they zoom in on
- 27:41Speaker 1: the publicist and he's like everybody loves a big moment.
- 27:44Speaker 2: So then I.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Thought, okay, I actually believe it coming from him because
- 27:48Speaker 1: he really wanted to throw this big, enormous wedding. But
- 27:50Speaker 1: I thought, really, fireworks after their vows, come on.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Well, fireworks are expensive, right. I actually thought that the
- 28:01Speaker 2: their reaction to the fireworks was so unbelievable, like they're
- 28:05Speaker 2: like pointing and like, oh my god, and like it
- 28:09Speaker 2: was the fourth of July display, you know what I mean.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Like we've never seen a firework before in our life, folks,
- 28:16Speaker 1: Like a three year old at Disneyland. Yeah it was.
- 28:18Speaker 2: I was like, Okay, whatever are we spoiled?
- 28:21Speaker 1: Have we seen too many fireworks? I just maybe perhaps
- 28:26Speaker 1: guys I don't know, like they play a firework every
- 28:29Speaker 1: single time someone scores at an Angel game, like fireworks.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Just haven't I enjoy fireworks? But perhaps I've been desensitized
- 28:37Speaker 1: to their beauty.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Well even in the fourth of July, Like the first
- 28:40Speaker 2: like five minutes are cool, and then I'm like, all right,
- 28:42Speaker 2: I'm over it.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I get anty. I get anty too. I'm like looking around, like, really,
- 28:45Speaker 1: we're still watching this.
- 28:47Speaker 2: It's the same thing over and over and over again.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Okay, And that's all I have. Do you have anything
- 28:54Speaker 1: else in that category? I got nothing that it's time
- 28:59Speaker 1: to raise this movie.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I give it one and a half stars.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I give it too.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Wow, that's generous.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, it was not great.
- 29:11Speaker 2: It was good. Wasn't bad.
- 29:14Speaker 1: So we've watched movies that I thought, oh my gosh,
- 29:17Speaker 1: that movie was bad. It wasn't for me. It wasn't
- 29:21Speaker 1: a bad movie. It just wasn't a good movie.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree. I agree. Like I didn't have like
- 29:27Speaker 2: a visceral reaction to like I hate this movie, which
- 29:30Speaker 2: sometimes happens when it was just this is just so like,
- 29:35Speaker 2: come on now, let's get to it, like right, you know.
- 29:39Speaker 1: And I liked many of the actors in the movie.
- 29:42Speaker 1: I thought the cast was great. Just maybe they weren't
- 29:45Speaker 1: given the best.
- 29:46Speaker 2: To work with. Yeah, I agree, they're like, we gotta
- 29:49Speaker 2: wrap this up. So are you guys available? Okay, all right,
- 29:52Speaker 2: let's do this. Let's do the damn thing. Yeah. So anyway, all.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Right, folks, that wraps up Sealed the Kiss Wedding March six.
- 30:02Speaker 1: We will be back next Thursday to talk a little
- 30:05Speaker 1: daytime drama, and of course we'll be back on Tuesday
