- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:29Well, as you can hear this, she's got a lot to say this
- 0:33morning. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:34coop. I feel like that sound is a
- 0:37great lead in to what I was going to be talking about
- 0:40because my head is so filled with ideas and it feels like
- 0:45it's on fire. Part of the reason this happens
- 0:49for me is based on the fact that often times because I'm, when
- 0:53I'm coaching, I mean, I coach a lot of hours every week.
- 0:55And I have a lot of people that I work with, which I'm extremely
- 0:59thrilled about and grateful for because I just love, love, love
- 1:02my clients. And I'll help them in any
- 1:04possible way that I can when I'm working with them.
- 1:07And it takes a lot of my creative energy for that.
- 1:11But when my creative energy is sitting neutral like it is right
- 1:15now in the middle of vacation week, you know, we're finishing
- 1:18today, Sunday, we're finishing up.
- 1:20I, I have been off, I was off Wednesday, I was off Thursday.
- 1:23I was off Friday, Saturday, and now today, Sunday.
- 1:28And we're leading into my second week of vacation, which is
- 1:31really unheard of. And it usually only happens
- 1:34around the end of the year and Christmas.
- 1:35And my brain goes on fire because it's kind of like opened
- 1:41up for business, my own business as opposed to pouring it into
- 1:46everybody else's. And what's fascinating to me
- 1:49about this process is how much my, my expansiveness of this
- 1:55comes in. It's, it's kind of like I start
- 1:57thinking about all kinds of things.
- 1:59I start projecting like, OK, give you a great example.
- 2:03I don't know if I, I talked about it on here.
- 2:06I can't remember if I talked about it on here or I was on
- 2:09Facebook or Instagram when I talked about it, but we got a a
- 2:13baby albino snapping turtle a couple about a month ago.
- 2:17Maybe two months ago, we got a little baby albino snapping
- 2:19turtle because much to my surprise, I didn't know it was
- 2:22arriving. But Mark just just decided that
- 2:24he was going to get a baby snapping turtle.
- 2:26And me being me, I don't mind when things are added to our
- 2:30array of animals at the zoo here because I would have them all.
- 2:35I have no problem with I have no sensibility.
- 2:38Let me just come right out and say it.
- 2:40I have no sensibility when it comes to creatures and I want to
- 2:42love them all. And it's very much AI think it's
- 2:46a thing from my childhood that my mother was a big lover of
- 2:51animals and we were allowed my my father never said no because
- 2:54it was often said no to him. So he just was like, sure, let's
- 2:57get it. And so we ended up with lots of
- 3:00different things. But anyway, baby albino snapping
- 3:02turtle, and he's talking to me about how right now it's in a
- 3:06tank and he's probably about the size of a 50 Cent piece.
- 3:12His shell is like the size of 50 Cent piece.
- 3:15And you know, he's going to get bigger, obviously.
- 3:18And they live for a very long time.
- 3:21So we have to make sure we plan for this.
- 3:24And like, you know, if something happens to us, where is he going
- 3:26to go? Like you have to have these
- 3:28conversations when you take on an animal that can live between
- 3:3060 and 80 years. So and how you can train them
- 3:34and yes, you can. They get very used to you.
- 3:37They know what to expect and they are they can be very, very
- 3:41sweet, not in cuddly sweet, but they are not going to go and
- 3:45attack you like you think they normally would.
- 3:47So Needless to say, here he is talking to me about how this
- 3:52turtle is going to progress and how we're going, where we're
- 3:54going to put him from when he goes from the tank.
- 3:56So it was a casual conversation. That's what it started off as.
- 4:00And then my creativity took over and I said, well, you know, you
- 4:04could make an enclosure right at the entrance of the house.
- 4:09You could make like a waterfall enclosure up on the porch to
- 4:12protect him. He'd have the morning sun and
- 4:14you could put like a little waterfall into the big tub
- 4:16because he's got 100 gallon tub that he bought.
- 4:20And I said we can build it up. We can put plants around.
- 4:22It would be quite beautiful. The sound of the waterfall is a
- 4:25plug there. So now my brain is going the
- 4:28next thing you know, he said, all right, well, that's good.
- 4:31I said, but what happens after that?
- 4:32Like he was, he was settled with that for right now because we
- 4:35are very different in how we plan things.
- 4:38So my brain immediately goes to, you know, we're going to need a
- 4:40bigger spot for him. And ideally, you mentioned and
- 4:44that this is me talking to him, you mentioned that they need
- 4:47they ideally they need a mud bottom to go into to hibernate
- 4:52for the winter. And he's like, yeah.
- 4:53And I said, so why don't we take over this section of the lawn on
- 4:57the edge of the house coming around and we could turn it into
- 5:00this whole big enclosure for him.
- 5:02So he could have different areas that he could go to and he could
- 5:05be in the water or he could be out of the water, whatever he
- 5:07chooses. We could really like turn it
- 5:09into something. And he just looked at me like
- 5:12eyes bugging out. And he's like, that's a big
- 5:14project. I'm like, I'm not saying I want
- 5:16to do it right now. And then I saw what was going on
- 5:19in myself. I, I witnessed how my brain was
- 5:22on fire. And that led to me, you know,
- 5:26and it all started because of building this damn bird feeder
- 5:29for the crows yesterday, going out and getting stuff and then
- 5:33thinking, OK, well, what could I do elsewhere?
- 5:36And that question, how can I make this even better?
- 5:39What can I do elsewhere? Where can I create this?
- 5:42Oh, I should call Stefan and ask him to come here and see if he's
- 5:47able to do this. And I want to do this.
- 5:49And I want to do this. And before you know it, there's
- 5:51steam coming out of my ears. And I'm like off and going.
- 5:56Now, typically what I do is I try to pace it, temper it, try
- 6:02to say no, that's not right now. Because if it affects me during
- 6:05the weeks when I'm working, but right now in these couple of
- 6:08weeks, I'm just capturing it all.
- 6:10And I encourage you to do the same.
- 6:12If you are on a break and your head is on fire, capture it all.
- 6:15Don't make yourself feel bad for not being able to do it right
- 6:18this minute, but just capture it all so you have it, Hunker it
- 6:21in, write it down so you have it, and then look at it and say,
- 6:25OK, where can I slot this in? So that's what I'm doing.
- 6:28I'm capturing everything. And now I'm going to start
- 6:30making my plan for the year. And because we're coming up to
- 6:34New Year's Eve and I'm so excited because I'm going to sit
- 6:37and I'm going to plan and I cannot wait, cannot wait.
- 6:41It's going to be one of those classic ones.
- 6:43I've got it all laid out. It's going to be cold outside.
- 6:46We're talking sit in front of a fire and get all your stuff and
- 6:50plan, plan, plan. So I encourage you to do the
- 6:53same. Don't shut your brain off,
- 6:55right. Let it all come out.
- 6:58See what shows up. All right, my friends, I hope
- 7:00you have a blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 7:03Bye.
