- 0:12Lot of water in this and one little thing blocking the flow
- 0:20and this just came to me before. That little thing is often this
- 0:30little thing and God wants to do something amazing, but because
- 0:37of our stinking, thinking, wrong doctrines with theology, we are
- 0:46blocking the flow of God. And this month, faith, love,
- 0:51hope You've seen the theme with what passes Rages did with our
- 0:56tithes and offerings. We're going to break this open.
- 1:01We're going to reform, get some transformation because because
- 1:07this starts to move. You know what's about to happen
- 1:10as we shift. It starts with the drop, then
- 1:14financial blessing, and then the sound guy just gets a bit upset.
- 1:20It's OK, we'll pass the right and we'll fix that during the
- 1:23week. But here's the reality.
- 1:27Church is I just use it. You know, water we often refer
- 1:33to as Holy Spirit. OK, but we're talking about
- 1:38money. Can you see it?
- 1:42See, because God wants to do things on the planet and the
- 1:47Spirit moves in all power and authority.
- 1:51But that comes through you and I, and I'll prove this in a
- 1:54moment through the Scriptures. It's found in the very first
- 1:57book, first chapter of our Bible.
- 2:01And so God created man and women and he said have dominion over
- 2:09everything. And you might go, yeah, but
- 2:11that's not talking about money. Well, it was actually because it
- 2:14started with animals, trade currency.
- 2:19And so he said we as the church as his children are that have
- 2:24dominion over all things of the earth.
- 2:29Why? Because when we have dominion
- 2:32get here, this when we have dominion, the will of God is
- 2:37outworked through his creation, you and I.
- 2:42And so although the the bottle is the contains the water of the
- 2:46Holy Spirit, I'm not saying we are the Holy Spirit.
- 2:50But what I'm saying is God's will is to work through you and
- 2:54I, and you've heard this saying before, if he can get it through
- 2:59you, he will get it to you. Often we will live in poverty
- 3:04and scarcity because God can't get anything through us because
- 3:10of the lid on the bottle. And today, in this month, we are
- 3:15going to change the way we look at money and no longer cower at
- 3:20these messages once a year when we to come around faith, love,
- 3:23home. But this is going to be the best
- 3:25season of the church every year because we have dominion over
- 3:30these things. We learn the power to use these
- 3:33things to see God's will outworked on planet Earth.
- 3:37Let me tell you, it starts with a miracle service flyer that we
- 3:42have to pay for the ink in our printer because I don't get them
- 3:44professionally printed. I do it myself.
- 3:48It's to save money. But we we will get to a point
- 3:52where it's not just paying the bills, but it's paying for the
- 3:55whole mission of what we do in society.
- 3:59She rescue home doesn't pay for itself in Cambodia, every
- 4:02project doesn't pay for itself. It's coming out of the church.
- 4:07Everything we do, We got hundreds here at youth every
- 4:10Friday night. It's it doesn't pay for itself.
- 4:13But we are transforming the world around us.
- 4:16And we're at a point at the as a church, we can't do it any
- 4:20longer with the limited finances we have.
- 4:24We have to get into alignment with the word of God that says
- 4:28the shirts should be tithing and when we all tithe 10%, if you
- 4:33work, you should be tithing because it's not.
- 4:36It's not even about obedience. It's not about, it's not about
- 4:41law, Old Testament, New Testament, it's all about
- 4:45worship. And this is what we get to is
- 4:49when we realise, like we saw in the video today, that we're just
- 4:53giving back to God. Why do we give back our tithe?
- 4:57Because if he can get it through us, he will get it to us.
- 5:01Does this that make sense? And listen, if he can get it
- 5:04through you, then you get to live in the blessing.
- 5:08That's called overflow, Amen. And so if you can get it through
- 5:13my life, I get to live in that blessing as well.
- 5:17Isn't that amazing? And so this is what this month
- 5:20is about S church. Can we declare out loud today?
- 5:24My heart is open, my ears are alert.
- 5:30I'm going to change and grow and never be the same in Jesus
- 5:37mighty name, Amen. Please be seated.
- 5:45I had to keep some in there. Today's message I want to talk
- 6:01about the spirit of scarcity and we're going to look at breaking
- 6:07the scarcity spirit now it's good.
- 6:11Often when we think of this, we can all kind of come around it
- 6:17when we think, you know, breaking this spirit over the
- 6:19community. But the reality is, is I want to
- 6:23break it over my own life. And so because I realise that as
- 6:29it is broken as scarcity and poverty and and this whole
- 6:34mindset and spiritual thing that allow around my world, as I
- 6:39stand in faith and break it, I show other people how to break
- 6:43it for their own lives. And as the blessing comes
- 6:47through my life, my prayer is, is that people would pick that
- 6:51up and see the same breakthrough happen in their own lives.
- 6:55But if we do this collectively as a church, imagine the
- 6:59effective it has on the community and imagine if every
- 7:03church is walking in this, which I'm sure we we all are, and
- 7:07we're all just breaking the spiritual, like, like hovering
- 7:11thing over our lives and over our churches.
- 7:15The church will just come out with all of this missional, you
- 7:19know, thing within us to see change and transformation, to be
- 7:24an answer to our world, not just be part of the world.
- 7:27The Bible says be in the world, but not part of the world.
- 7:31And so we need to lead society, not be led by society.
- 7:36Does that make sense? You can live in Caboolture, but
- 7:40we can change the way Caboolture has historically been all the
- 7:45way from Bribie all and listen to me all the way to Tigulwa.
- 7:52You just heard me right now. Just expanded the tent.
- 7:56So there's a, there's a book that we, as you know, the
- 8:00platform team are going through and all the leadership will
- 8:04start to go through shortly called God, Money and Me and
- 8:08it's Paul by Paul Dejong. And can I encourage you, if
- 8:12you're a note taker today or just grab your phone out, just
- 8:15quickly write that down. You can listen to this book on
- 8:18Audible. God Money and me, God, Money and
- 8:24Me by Paul Dejong. And this is a transformational
- 8:29book, audio audio book. Or you can order it.
- 8:33And it just completely unpacks the Bible and all of its stories
- 8:39and its financial verses and just breeds light on it so that
- 8:45we can understand, get our heads around it a little bit, but also
- 8:50bring ourselves back into alignment.
- 8:53Because the reality is as life goes on, as as life happens and
- 8:58the the church evolves through all different cultures and eras,
- 9:02the the reality is we always got to bring ourselves back into
- 9:06alignment with the word of God and not just run with culture.
- 9:10Does that make sense? And so this book will really
- 9:13help you do that. It's a great tool for this.
- 9:16I've got 2 scriptures that I want to start with today.
- 9:19Psalms 23 verse one, just one verse.
- 9:23The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not once when we follow
- 9:30the shepherd, we no longer have wants in our lives.
- 9:36Philippians 419 And my God shall supply all my needs, all your
- 9:42needs according to his riches and his glory by Christ Jesus.
- 9:51God doesn't supply all your needs according to your riches.
- 9:56Thank you Jesus, thank you God. Listen, but you got to listen.
- 10:02You got to hear that God doesn't supply the needs you have in
- 10:06your life according to the income that your job provides.
- 10:12That's not what the Scripture is saying.
- 10:15And so today we're going to learn how to break this open by
- 10:185 points. I'll have coming up in a moment.
- 10:21Today I want to talk about something that quietly effects
- 10:25many, many believers. And it's the spirit of scarcity.
- 10:30Not just lack of money, but a mindset of fear, anxiety, of
- 10:37striving and never feeling secure.
- 10:42Scarcity is often spiritual Before it's practical, it's
- 10:49spiritual. And then we listen to it, then
- 10:54we Stew on it. So now it's wobbling around in
- 10:58our brains. And as you Stew on these things,
- 11:01lack of money coming in this week, too many bills, look at
- 11:05society, look at what the government's doing.
- 11:07We're giving away all of our car companies.
- 11:10What's going on in Australia? Where's our oil, you know,
- 11:13factories. And we, we Stew on these things.
- 11:17And what happens is as you Stew, you start to see all the
- 11:20problems and you start to blame. And then it just comes down and
- 11:24becomes a heart issue. And So what happens spiritually
- 11:28in the world around culture? OK, we as the church listen to
- 11:33Channel 9 every night and we Stew on it, and then it comes
- 11:37down and starts to dictate and influence our doctrine and our
- 11:43core belief system. There are many people who earn
- 11:49enough but still feel trapped. They constantly worry,
- 11:55constantly compare, and constantly fear the future.
- 12:00They may have provision in their hand, but poverty in their
- 12:03hearts. The Holy Scripture teaches us
- 12:07that money is never just about money.
- 12:11And this is what we are getting to the bottom of over this, this
- 12:16month and next month. It exposes trust.
- 12:21It reveals belief systems and it uncovers where our security
- 12:29truly sits. And you might say, well, well,
- 12:32how does that re reveal my belief system?
- 12:35Well, when the bill comes in, do you say, oh man, we don't have
- 12:38the money for that just revealed your belief system.
- 12:43So if I go back to the other verse that I just read earlier,
- 12:47we aren't dictated to by the the paycheck, but we walk in his
- 12:54riches and his glory. And so we know what's dictating
- 12:59to us by our response to the situations around us and the
- 13:04things that come into our world. And on the kitchen table.
- 13:08Our response to that shows who who really rules this part of
- 13:14our life. The issue is not always what is
- 13:19your bank account? The deeper issue is often, what
- 13:23thoughts have I believed about provision?
- 13:28I'm not a prosperity preacher, but I believe the church should
- 13:34be walking in prosperity. Does that make sense?
- 13:40Lack thinking sounds like there's never enough.
- 13:45I'm always behind. Someone else gets blessed, but
- 13:48not me. I'll never get ahead.
- 13:52I have to protect myself because no one else will.
- 13:57That's not the language of sonship.
- 14:01It's the language of slavery. I'm getting like today, any sons
- 14:12in the house, women you can put your hands up to.
- 14:15That means you. We are sons and daughters of the
- 14:19supplier of all our needs according to His riches and
- 14:24glory. That's who my Father is.
- 14:28Amen. Let's look at five thoughts from
- 14:31Scripture and reframe our thinking and our belief systems
- 14:35today about how God wants us to approach our finances.
- 14:40When we talk in the church about money, about finances and about
- 14:44tithing, your spirit needs to leap with joy because what we
- 14:50are saying is, hey, church, we're going to craft how we're
- 14:54going to use these things in our life to bring glory to God, not
- 14:59to obtain bigger houses and more riches and and best cars and all
- 15:03of this. It's not to line our pockets,
- 15:06but it's to see more of earth go to heaven.
- 15:09It's to influence our world for good and for God #1 The shepherd
- 15:15breaks scarcity, David says in Psalms 23.
- 15:20One, the Lord is my shepherd, and I shall not once notice
- 15:26David connects provision to relationship.
- 15:31The Lord is my shepherd. Before David mentions provision,
- 15:35peace or protection, he identifies who is leading him,
- 15:42Who is leading him. He always runs back to the the
- 15:46Lord is my provider. The Lord is my protector.
- 15:51The Lord is my shield. I shall not once.
- 15:58When God is your shepherd, fear loses its authority and lack
- 16:03loses its authority over your life.
- 16:06Scarcity thrives wherever trust in God weakens.
- 16:12God never intended money to become a master or our source of
- 16:17identity. Money is a tool, but God is the
- 16:21source. That's good, isn't it?
- 16:24Money, Church is our tool. It's what we use to do things,
- 16:28to work on planet earth, to feed our our families, yes, but also
- 16:33to outwork the mission. But we have to remember
- 16:37businesses, just because you have money coming through, you
- 16:41aren't the source. God is the source of the
- 16:44blessing. The money coming through is the
- 16:46tools to outwork the mission of God.
- 16:49If you're in this place and you've got above the average
- 16:52income in your world, don't think that your own hands are
- 16:56making your wealth. You've got to remember who the
- 16:59source always is. And when we forget the source,
- 17:03the things our hands are making will start to weary and go dim
- 17:07in our lives. This is true in your life and in
- 17:12the church as well. Many believers say God is my
- 17:16provider, but emotionally they live as though everything
- 17:20depends entirely on themselves and on the bank balance.
- 17:25We do this, don't we? Like like we don't want to talk
- 17:29about money, but we leave every single day getting our phone
- 17:33out, checking the Commonwealth app or the the the NAB app Don't
- 17:39we do this at least once to twice, if not 30 times a day.
- 17:43You go to get a coffee. What comes out first, making
- 17:46sure money is in the right account.
- 17:49Everything we do on planet Earth, your rent, your fuel,
- 17:54which you need a lot of money in that account at the moment, your
- 17:58diesel, what everything you do, if you're having a birthday,
- 18:02someone's paying for that cake and you want extra money for the
- 18:06candles, right? It's a literally everything we
- 18:10do. We look so good here today
- 18:12because we all have haircuts, right?
- 18:15It costs money. Just everything we brushed our
- 18:18teeth. I've smelt your breath this
- 18:20morning. I said hi there, so many people,
- 18:22we all brushed our teeth. Toothpaste, money.
- 18:25Money is everything all the time in our world.
- 18:29We need to switch the tables and start to have dominion over it
- 18:34rather than it having dominion over us.
- 18:37It's telling us what our shopping is like too much.
- 18:41We need to start to tell it what we are going to shop like.
- 18:46Does that make sense it we need to tell it with the church
- 18:49should not struggle for miracle Flyers, but we should be going.
- 18:55We are getting professionally done miracle Flyers so that we
- 18:59can use our printer for the other things for youth on Friday
- 19:02night because they needed it as well.
- 19:05Our resources. We should never have a lack.
- 19:07Did you know I don't know if you've ever done that.
- 19:09I would love you to do this if you would do this.
- 19:12Go home and just say in this auditorium today there's
- 19:17probably, I don't know, 220 people and there's about 55
- 19:21kids. So if there's 220 people, you've
- 19:25got to think there's about 180 people in this auditorium right
- 19:29now who actually work, get the award wage on 180 people and do
- 19:40what the tithe is, right? And then if you look at that and
- 19:46then you get a small Church of 50 people, OK, And then you work
- 19:50out, probably 40 of those people would be working.
- 19:54So they would be tithing if we're following the principles
- 19:57of the scriptures. And then if you get a mega
- 20:00Church of 3000 people, OK, and maybe 2200 something like that
- 20:06are working, and then you work out their tithe according to the
- 20:09minimum wage. What you will realise is God's
- 20:12plan of the tithe works whether you're a fifty person church or
- 20:17whether you're a 10,000 person church with all their expenses
- 20:21and bills and everything in the mission that they're trying to
- 20:24do. Because 10,000 people churches
- 20:26do crazy things like build homes and schools in Cambodia, right?
- 20:32Well, 50 people churches do crazy things for their church
- 20:36like print out flies and get signs for services coming up and
- 20:40things like that to impact their community and do breakfasts and
- 20:44all that sort of stuff. The reality is, is the church
- 20:48tithed because only about 2.5% of the average church does
- 20:54tithe. If the church typed, which
- 21:00should be around 80% for workers, the church would have
- 21:05so much money right That no matter the size church bills
- 21:11would never be an issue. Staffing in proportion to sizing
- 21:14would never be an issue and we would be doing the the missional
- 21:20things that God places on the heart of the pastor because that
- 21:24works within the size and the next era of where the church
- 21:28which is currently at. That's just if the church tide
- 21:31that's not with offerings on top offerings is like faith, love,
- 21:35hope that we're coming around right now it's an offering
- 21:38season where we go. You know what God on all of our
- 21:41increase. We're going to give you more on
- 21:43an increase. Why Because my hands didn't
- 21:46bring the increase your blessing and favour brought my increase.
- 21:50Does this make sense? I would love you just around the
- 21:52table. Get your kids and get the
- 21:54calculators out and do these sumps and you will see where the
- 21:58church worldwide currently is AT and why the church should be
- 22:03having dominion over the earth. But right now, governments have
- 22:08dominion over the earth. But the church is where the
- 22:10money should be flowing out of where schools should be flowing
- 22:14out of where universities should be flowing.
- 22:16Does this make sense? This is God's plan.
- 22:19And so in the book of Genesis, when he he said a man have
- 22:22dominion over the earth, this is what he was talking about.
- 22:26But it requires our partnership with his plan and his model.
- 22:31Does this make sense? And so This is why this should
- 22:34be an exciting time of year for you and I.
- 22:42So how do we change? We change by changing who we
- 22:47trust. You overcome scarcity when you
- 22:52stop looking first to the economy.
- 22:54And I'm blown away. I'm blown away.
- 22:58We all know that Mel and I just sold their house.
- 23:03The market has shifted in the last probably 3 months according
- 23:08to fuel prices, what fuel has dictated to the market.
- 23:18But when you stop looking at the economy and keep looking at his
- 23:24economy. Now when I read his streets are
- 23:28made of gold, the Bible says he prepares a mansion for you and I
- 23:34all of us, we have a mansion. I can't wait to see what this
- 23:38all looks like in the end. But if he's got that level of,
- 23:43you know, he just walks on gold, you know, it's see through gold,
- 23:46by the way, if you read the Book of Revelation.
- 23:48So it's the purest of pure and there's gems that this is the
- 23:52world we're going to live in or the heavenly world in which
- 23:55Father God lives in. When we realise that why would
- 24:00we ever bring our economy level down to earths when we can walk
- 24:04in that? Does this make sense?
- 24:06But we've got to work finance out.
- 24:08We've got to work budgeting out for this to to happen.
- 24:12We overcome scarcity when we stop looking first at culture
- 24:16and we stop looking first to your fears, to your fears and
- 24:23start anchoring your confidence in the shepherd.
- 24:30You know the the great thing about a shepherd is a shepherd
- 24:34leads the sheep. A shepherd doesn't just sit
- 24:38there and have a pity party with the sheep.
- 24:44Shepherds understand what the sheep is going through but
- 24:50doesn't grovel in the mess. Shepherds have a greater vision
- 24:57of the future. Shepherds know where you're
- 25:01going even when we don't know when where we're going.
- 25:05See, Jesus is our shepherd. And when it comes to to money
- 25:11and to finance and to budgeting and all all of this, he is our
- 25:16shepherd on which we lean even in this area of our life, not
- 25:21just for salvation, but for all areas of our life.
- 25:26Why would we lean on him? Because he knows what he has in
- 25:29our future. We've just got to learn to
- 25:32follow or in other words, walk in that future that God has
- 25:37prepared for us. He's a practical change.
- 25:40Replace fear language with faith language rather than allowing
- 25:46yourself say, I'll never get ahead.
- 25:48Nothing ever changes for me or I'm stuck.
- 25:52I'm just stuck in this. Well, I'm stuck in this job.
- 25:56And while I'm stuck in the job, we're just stuck in this
- 25:58financial realm. My kids are stuck in that
- 26:02school. You know, I'm just stuck.
- 26:05Or you might say my future is not controlled by fear or
- 26:09uncertainty any longer. Let's start declaring God is
- 26:15leading me. God is faithful.
- 26:20He is always faithful. He's forever faithful.
- 26:25God is my source. When you get your next rates
- 26:30bill, come on, you know what I'm talking about.
- 26:34Don't get the rates bill and go, oh, I'll never get ahead like
- 26:38this. Get the rights bill and go, God,
- 26:42I thank you that you are my source and this big figure there
- 26:46does not dictate to me. I will steward it well and I'll
- 26:51do what I have to do to see this paid out.
- 26:54But as I take righteous steps to to do this, as I tithe and I'm
- 27:00faithful in that area, as I'm generous over in this area, when
- 27:05you prompt me, I will begin to walk in your overflow in these
- 27:10bills will lose their power over my life.
- 27:13That's how we approach these situations.
- 27:16What you repeatedly confess shapes what you eventually
- 27:21believe. I'm going to say that 111 more
- 27:25time. I do this all the time.
- 27:27I don't know about you, but I'll do this.
- 27:29What you repeatedly confess if you got self-image things going
- 27:38on in your world. I'm just not beautiful.
- 27:42I just hate my hair, just hate the way I look.
- 27:46I don't like my freckles. What you can repeatedly confess.
- 27:51You will start to believe in your heart, but it's not, it's
- 27:55not the truth. You are beautiful.
- 27:58You are handsome. The freckles is what makes you
- 28:02the perfect you. My wife had freckles our whole
- 28:06life. Like, freckles are awesome.
- 28:08All right? Yeah.
- 28:09You can have long hair. You can have WAVY.
- 28:11We just had a hair discussion the other day and Ilia wants my
- 28:15hair. I have no hair, so I said just
- 28:17go to Mum's hair. But Mum wants an Ilia's hair
- 28:20because it's long and curly like, and when we start to see
- 28:25that God perfectly made us like I'm, I'm not the most beautiful
- 28:29or handsome man. OK, well, I'm pretty close.
- 28:33But but I remember, I remember growing up, OK, I'm just can I
- 28:39be honest for a SEC? Like I when I grew up, I had big
- 28:43ears. Stop looking.
- 28:45OK, I had big ears. They're OK Now I, I think
- 28:53they're OK, right? I kind of my head grew and I
- 28:56grew into my ears. My head grew because my brain
- 28:59grew and, and I sort of, but you know what I even remember as a,
- 29:07as a little fella, I, I did used to look in the mirror and go,
- 29:12what the where'd those two things come from?
- 29:17But I loved my hair. I had hair back then, I don't
- 29:22know, Lib talking 80s, early 90s.
- 29:25So I had a hair with fringe. Do you remember the fringe that
- 29:29went straight out? Yeah.
- 29:31So Hairspray was like underneath and on top.
- 29:34Does anyone remember? There was, is this a Townsville
- 29:37thing? We're a bit different up there.
- 29:41So I used to see how far I could get my fringe to come straight
- 29:45out. Yeah, that's what fringes were
- 29:48back then. But the the reality is, is what
- 29:57we confess in our lives, if we never have enough, you never
- 30:01have enough. You know what?
- 30:04You know, ask my kids if they go.
- 30:06Dad, do I have money? I say, yeah, I haven't even
- 30:09checked my account yet. Yep.
- 30:12Let me just check my account. Oh, it's not in there today.
- 30:15It'll be in there tomorrow, though.
- 30:17But yes, I got money. You know, I remember when when
- 30:20my kids were young because I wear Nike shoes, right.
- 30:23So every birthday or Christmas, I get a pair of Nike shoes and I
- 30:26did that to make me look rich. So if you got a pair of Nike
- 30:33shoes and if you can get one night jumper, you look rich
- 30:37Anyway, So my kids, when they're, you know, I think of
- 30:41any might have been about eights and the the boys were younger.
- 30:45One day they I picked them up from school and they said, Dad,
- 30:49are we millionaires? And I said, yeah, I said, why,
- 30:54Why do you ask that? And I said, oh, just all my
- 30:57friends, they just noticed whenever you or mum come, you're
- 31:00wearing like Nikes all the time. And they thought maybe we're
- 31:04millionaires. And I said, well, we are.
- 31:06I said, but I've just got a normal wage.
- 31:11What you speak comes in here and you start to present yourself
- 31:17and live in accordance to what you believe so we can shift
- 31:23reality. Did you know that you can shift
- 31:27your reality? It starts small, but it starts
- 31:31to snowball until reality actually shifts.
- 31:34You form your world. Did you know he's a he's a
- 31:38little key for everyone here today?
- 31:40Did you know that you're living in the world that you confessed
- 31:44yesterday? You're living in the world today
- 31:50of your confession over your past.
- 31:55And if we want to shift the spirit of poverty and lack, we
- 31:59need to start to present ourselves like we're sons and
- 32:03daughters of the High King. Does this make sense?
- 32:07Because Church, it's not just about you and I.
- 32:11My whole heart in all of this is because I want to see the spirit
- 32:16of lack and scarcity and poverty broken from Bribie to Tegulawa.
- 32:24And S will get a bit of the overflow, right?
- 32:28But the reality is we breakthrough for our community.
- 32:34As go the head, so goes the tail.
- 32:38Does that make sense? So as we lead the church
- 32:41spiritually, so right now we are we are changing our confession.
- 32:46We're all standing and praying for our tithes and offerings
- 32:49moments. Why?
- 32:50Because we're declaring you might not be there yet, but
- 32:53you're getting there, right? We're declaring that as a
- 32:56church, we have said enough is now enough.
- 32:59Spiritually, we're doing that. But as a church, we're going to
- 33:02follow our prayer confessions. And so we'll start to change
- 33:06this. You know, when your kids ask
- 33:08you, are you if you're rich, we're not rich, we're
- 33:10millionaires. Like, do you not know our God?
- 33:14Let me let me tell you a little bit about God.
- 33:18Sit around the table. So that's my father right there.
- 33:23And start to change our thinking, start to retrain our
- 33:26children, start to retrain our own.
- 33:29It's called transformation. And we invite the Holy Spirit
- 33:33into this as well. Point number two men, I've got
- 33:365. I'm going to read real fast.
- 33:38Scarcity is learned, but so is trust.
- 33:44Israel spent generations in slavery, so even after
- 33:49deliverance they still fought like slaves.
- 33:52If you've ever read read that story.
- 33:55They had Memon in from heaven. Miraculous protection.
- 34:01Supernatural provision. Yet they still feared lack.
- 34:07Why? Because freedom externally
- 34:10doesn't automatically create freedom internally.
- 34:15Many people today have inherited generational poverty.
- 34:20Thinking mums and dads, it's time to say and it stops with me
- 34:29and it stops right now. Even my family will no longer
- 34:35live in generational poverty. Thinking because your tomorrow
- 34:42can be changed by your decisions today.
- 34:45Does that make sense? Maybe you grew up hearing we
- 34:48never have enough. Rich people are greedy people.
- 34:54People like us, we always struggle.
- 34:57You can't really trust God when it comes to finances.
- 35:02Those words create internal strongholds and listen, we need
- 35:09to let go of them. Let go of this thinking.
- 35:13Let go of this confession that we have.
- 35:16The wilderness mindset teaches people to survive and not trust.
- 35:22Listen, if you grew up in Caboolture, we no longer just
- 35:26survive to live. We no longer just survive to
- 35:31live. We are blessed beyond
- 35:35understanding. We are favoured by the Almighty
- 35:38God. We walk in riches that are like
- 35:40a tap to us and we give it out as much as it comes into us.
- 35:45We are the blessing to our community.
- 35:48We are the favour that God has brought them, the answer to our
- 35:51community. We are children of God.
- 35:54We are not just living to survive any longer, but we are
- 35:58living Lord, to bring other people out of the miry clay also
- 36:04for themselves. God never called these people
- 36:07merely to survive. He called us to live by faith
- 36:11and to live in a realm of stepping out and seeing our God
- 36:15who supplies, actually supply. We have to step into this realm.
- 36:21We have to step into this understanding.
- 36:24Listen, we have to step into these new behaviours that our
- 36:29God who supplies all of our needs, actually does supply.
- 36:34And you go, yeah, but he only supplies needs.
- 36:37No, no, no, you got the wrong understanding of the Scripture.
- 36:40He says he supplies all of our needs because our needs are and
- 36:47wants are actually his needs and wants.
- 36:51If he can get it through you, he will get it to you.
- 36:54And so when your need is the need to see people come to God
- 37:00to see the gospel go out to see crusades happening all across
- 37:05Australia to to be able to fund the church in blessing to to
- 37:09grow as a church and to get more locations and and our need is
- 37:13people out there. God goes I can bless that with
- 37:17all my riches in heaven. And when he's blessing that
- 37:20need, he's blessing you. Why because that need became
- 37:23yours. Does this make sense?
- 37:26So this is all about alignment Church Romans 12 to be
- 37:29transformed by the renewing of your mind.
- 37:34Transformation begins when truth replaces fear, No longer fear to
- 37:39finances in your world. But we live in the truth #3
- 37:44God's economy operates differently.
- 37:47Paul writes in Philippians 419. My God shall supply all your
- 37:51needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
- 37:56Did you notice? Not according to your
- 37:59limitations. See, God doesn't go.
- 38:04Oh, Graham's too limited. I can't do my mission through
- 38:09him. I'm going to look for a rich
- 38:10person. That's not how God operates.
- 38:14In fact, God's so gracious, he goes well until Graham changes
- 38:18his stinking thinking. We just got to hold off a little
- 38:22bit and wait. And the Holy Spirit just keep
- 38:27working on him. See God, God doesn't say he
- 38:32supplies our needs according to my limitations.
- 38:36He says he supplies our needs according to his riches and
- 38:41overflow. Scarcity says there's not
- 38:46enough. But the Kingdom of God says
- 38:49there is more than enough in God.
- 38:52This does not mean irresponsibility.
- 38:55It does not mean ignoring wisdom or stewardship.
- 38:58Financial freedom flows from both trust and wisdom.
- 39:03So let's remember, faith is not passive, faith is obedience.
- 39:09So how do we change in this move from fear driven living to
- 39:14stewardship driven living? This means honouring God first
- 39:21with your first fruits, which is plain language, your tithe,
- 39:27budgeting wisely, removing unnecessary debt where possible
- 39:33in your life, practicing generosity, refusing emotional
- 39:40spending. Scarcity spends emotionally
- 39:48because fear seeks comfort. Wisdom spends intentionally
- 39:54because trust creates peace. Some people ask God for
- 40:00breakthrough while refusing discipline but stewardship.
- 40:05Is a spiritual thing #4 generosity breaks the power of
- 40:10scarce scarcity. One of the greatest antidotes to
- 40:14scarcity is generosity. Why?
- 40:18Because generosity confronts fear directly.
- 40:23Whereas you're giving away, you're going, God, you supply
- 40:26all my needs, You aren't going. Oh man, now I'm left with
- 40:30nothing. What do I do?
- 40:33Does that make sense? We go God, you supply all my
- 40:36needs and because I believe that I'm giving to this need, if he
- 40:41can get it through you, he will get it to you.
- 40:43Fear says hold tight. Faith says God can replenish
- 40:48what I release. The Kingdom principle is this.
- 40:53Whatever you grip tightly will begin to grip you tightly back.
- 40:59When we live open handed before God, we declare, my trust is not
- 41:04in possessions, but my trust is in the provider.
- 41:14Generosity is not the overflow of abundance, it is the evidence
- 41:20of trust in God. Let me say that again.
- 41:24Generosity is not the overflow of abundance.
- 41:29You don't begin to be generous when you get more in your pay.
- 41:33You're not getting more in your pay, right?
- 41:36It's set, you contracted that. Generosity is a hard attitude.
- 41:41Generosity doesn't move to your employer, generosity moves to
- 41:46the provider. So we are generous because our
- 41:50provider provides all my needs, not because my employer provides
- 41:55my needs. Does this make sense?
- 41:56Your employer gives you a benchmark of living.
- 41:59Your provider lets you live in abundance and overflow.
- 42:03Does this make sense? And so we look to God for all
- 42:06things #5 peace is the goal, not just prosperity.
- 42:13Some people think financial breakthrough alignment.
- 42:16I've got a lot of information today.
- 42:18This is good as helping someone this morning.
- 42:22Some people think financial breakthrough alone will heal
- 42:25anxiety. Let me tell you, God heals
- 42:30anxiety and the Bible says to be anxious for nothing.
- 42:34How do you be anxious for nothing?
- 42:36You're anxious for nothing. When you understand truly in
- 42:39your heart who your source is, your source of peace, your
- 42:44source of blessing, your source of prosperity, your source of
- 42:47love, your source of hope. When we understand that God is
- 42:52love, that God is hope, that God is the fulfilling of the flesh,
- 42:57that God makes me feel good, that God feels the enemy, that
- 43:02God supplies the enemy, that guy supplies all my needs according
- 43:06to his riches and glory. That means all you needs, not
- 43:10just money, but all you need. Your thinking, your emotions and
- 43:14everything, then we are anxious for nothing.
- 43:17Money alone will not fix your anxiety.
- 43:21Like money, your anxiety must go to the source of your provider.
- 43:29Many wealthy people still live terrified and anxious.
- 43:34Money will never, was never designed to carry the weight of
- 43:38your peace. Only God can do that, David said
- 43:41in Psalms 23. One, the Lord is my shepherd,
- 43:47not savings accounts, restores my souls.
- 43:53See, God wants his people free from anxiety, from striving in
- 43:58day-to-day, just surviving free from panic.
- 44:02Man, money brings panic. Money destroys marriages.
- 44:07Like we should have dominion over this thing.
- 44:09Money should just bring life to the mission of your marriage,
- 44:13not come between the husband and the wife.
- 44:16Money is is a tool that we use, not a thing that divides.
- 44:20That's the enemy's plan, but the enemy wins when we lose
- 44:25dominion. Does this make sense?
- 44:28It's a church. We have to have dominion.
- 44:31The goal is not greed, the goal is peace.
- 44:35It's critical to have a settled confidence in God.
- 44:39And here's your last practical tip for today.
- 44:42Daily practice gratitude and financial surrender.
- 44:49Daily practice your gratitude and surrendering your finance to
- 44:55God. Well, God, I don't walk
- 44:58according to the budgets of this world and the economy.
- 45:02I'll walk in accordance to the blesser and my provider and
- 45:07change our confession and everything will follow in Jesus
- 45:12name. Listen, gratitude weakens fear.
- 45:22So Church, I just want you to hear this in closing today, the
- 45:25wilderness mindset of lack, worry, and fear will not enter
- 45:31your promised land. The mindset of lack God, where
- 45:41are you in my finance worry scarcity, poverty that that
- 45:47mindset won't enter into your promised land.
- 45:51See the Egyptians had to change. Sorry the the Israelites had to
- 45:57change everything about their thinking when they left Egypt
- 46:02because they were still thinking like slaves.
- 46:05But God says you're not a slave, you're my child.
- 46:08He has set us free to walk in freedom free indeed.
- 46:12And money is the greatest economy on planet earth that
- 46:16tries to enslave that. God is here to set us free today
- 46:20in Jesus name. God wants to renew our thinking,
- 46:24our language, our trust, our stewardship, and give us the
- 46:27peace. So if you receive this message
- 46:33today, I would love you to declare something.
- 46:37I'd love you to declare it loud enough for your own ears to
- 46:40hear. If you could say this after me,
- 46:43scarcity will no longer shape my thinking.
- 46:50I great break agreement with generational poverty, thinking I
- 46:59will not carry a wilderness mindset into my promise to land.
- 47:09I choose trust over fear, stewardship over chaos, and
- 47:19generosity over scarcity. In Jesus mighty name, Amen.
- 47:28Amen.
