- 0:12Speaker 1: this and our wide range of podcasts now on iHeartRadio.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Golden Mild Dreams Over. Of course, fourteen to three was
- 0:19Speaker 2: the vote to adjust it to a point it can
- 0:20Speaker 2: be afforded. We had one thirty nine million in rising
- 0:23Speaker 2: towards a quarter billion, had a sort of a runaway
- 0:25Speaker 2: train feel all over it, didn't it. Haley Horn is
- 0:27Speaker 2: the chief executive of the Business Central and Wellington Chamber
- 0:29Speaker 2: of Commerce. Morning, Good morning, Mike Broadly, did you dodge
- 0:33Speaker 2: your bullet?
- 0:36Speaker 3: Look, the goal was right. The years of reviews and
- 0:39Speaker 3: re scropes, that's where businesses just got exhausted. So we
- 0:44Speaker 3: welcome a decision beats another year of limbo.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Good what's your vibe on Little in the council of
- 0:49Speaker 2: the adults arrived in the room here at last.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Oh, I think businesses are feeling that they're at the
- 0:56Speaker 3: table a little more than they were, and I think
- 0:58Speaker 3: new leadership is always a good thing, and we are
- 1:01Speaker 3: working together and look are vibrant city is what we
- 1:05Speaker 3: all want.
- 1:05Speaker 2: That's true. Little was talking yesterday about putting a few
- 1:08Speaker 2: pop plants, and I think it needs more than that.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Doesn't it. I mean, has anyone got a cohesive plan
- 1:12Speaker 2: as to what it could be without breaking the bank?
- 1:16Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:16Speaker 3: Look, I know it feels like cleaning the streets and
- 1:19Speaker 3: planting a few pop plants, is you know, seems a
- 1:22Speaker 3: little too low.
- 1:23Speaker 2: But I tell you what.
- 1:24Speaker 3: The businesses in Wellington have got together. We have a
- 1:27Speaker 3: communit business group that willispond and other businesses are pulled
- 1:31Speaker 3: together called Taoha. It's a Courtney precinct concept where we've
- 1:36Speaker 3: put some answers on the table through business and I
- 1:38Speaker 3: think that the council is ready to listen. So that
- 1:40Speaker 3: whole central local business collaboration is going to be critical.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Are you bullish on Wellington generally? Whoa too longer? Too longer?
- 1:53Speaker 3: Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something.
- 1:56Speaker 3: I think that Wellington is due for an absolute rebirth,
- 2:01Speaker 3: and this weekend's going to kick off by winning the game.
- 2:05Speaker 3: But what I would say is that there is a
- 2:08Speaker 3: set vents of coming together that we haven't had in
- 2:10Speaker 3: a very long time, and we are cautiously optimistic about
- 2:13Speaker 3: what is about to occur. So yes, I am good,
- 2:16Speaker 3: but this is important. We did a green Light Economy
- 2:19Speaker 3: report last year, a thousand of our members. Business members
- 2:22Speaker 3: in Wellington said inner city revitalization is key. So no
- 2:27Speaker 3: one argues that having a city is where people want
- 2:30Speaker 3: to come is the bad idea. But it obviously got
- 2:32Speaker 3: too big and two completes. I am looking forward to
- 2:34Speaker 3: what is going to happen next, but let's get shovels
- 2:37Speaker 3: in the ground and less shiny brochures. That's pretty much
- 2:39Speaker 3: the business message.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I like the cut of your jip. Have a good weekend,
- 2:42Speaker 2: Hailey Horn, who's the right? So yup, Wellington Chamber of
- 2:46Speaker 2: Commerce Hurricanes hot favorites. I didn't realize how hot are favorites.
- 2:50Speaker 2: They are. TV's playing next to nothing for them to win.
