- 0:40has never been here before, and if you're
- 0:43coming back, I definitely wanna say thank you,
- 0:45and of course, welcome back.
- 0:47Thank you so much for coming back to
- 0:48the show.
- 0:48Really do appreciate people that enjoy the quality
- 0:51of my show and the content of it.
- 0:54And I definitely want to say thank you
- 0:58to everyone for making 2025 an amazing year.
- 1:04And I wanna say that we are now
- 1:10officially on the air four years in a
- 1:13row, and today, January 1st, 2026 marks, yes,
- 1:16ladies and gentlemen, our 26th year.
- 1:21It's like 2026, the year of 26, but
- 1:22it's actually our fifth year on the air,
- 1:24but it's in the year of 2026.
- 1:26So we're now on the air four years
- 1:27in a row, and we are starting our
- 1:31fifth year.
- 1:32So welcome, everyone.
- 1:34Again, if you're thirsty, feel free to go
- 1:36grab yourself something like a cup of water,
- 1:37like my Aro here, or maybe a snack,
- 1:40maybe a drink, other beverage, or something healthy
- 1:42or not.
- 1:43That's totally up to you.
- 1:45And if you have not checked out believemeachieved
- 1:48.com, what are you waiting for?
- 1:49Go check that out right after the show
- 1:51is over.
- 1:53I think you'll really enjoy my short-form
- 1:55content, my long-form content, and so much
- 1:59more.
- 1:59So definitely, definitely check that out.
- 2:02I think you're gonna be very pleased with
- 2:04it.
- 2:05Again, you can get my short-form content,
- 2:07you can get my long-form content, and
- 2:09so much more, all right?
- 2:12Our reels and a lot more too.
- 2:13So I'm really glad to be with everyone
- 2:16here on January 1st, 2026.
- 2:18And so the way we decided to do
- 2:22these, let's say a couple of sets of
- 2:25shows before we actually get into January 3rd,
- 2:28which is actually our official master topic that
- 2:31goes through the 9th, because we had some
- 2:33on-off days, we did some little mini
- 2:36things.
- 2:36Like for example, we did a show that
- 2:38went to one day, then on the Wednesday,
- 2:41we did basically a show that ended basically
- 2:45on the 31st.
- 2:46So we did like that Saturday to that
- 2:48Wednesday, and now we're doing the Thursday to
- 2:50the Friday, and then Saturday we'll start off
- 2:53with our brand new master topic.
- 2:54So we've had a couple of little master
- 2:56topics in a little short mini weeks, but
- 2:58I thought it was better to do that
- 2:59because of the way the format went.
- 3:02So again, I just wanna say thank you
- 3:04everyone for being here.
- 3:05It's so great to have you here.
- 3:07I'm glad that we're rolling off and kicking
- 3:09off with another amazing, amazing guys, great year,
- 3:12thanks to all of you.
- 3:14So let's kick the show off.
- 3:15So you're tuned in the ever popular Inspirations
- 3:18for Your Life show now on the air
- 3:20four years in a row, and today marking
- 3:23our first day of the fifth year.
- 3:25This is the daily motivational show.
- 3:28The show that helps you think sharper, to
- 3:31feel stronger, and to take real action in
- 3:34your life, your business, and of course, your
- 3:36relationships.
- 3:37By the way, this is John C.
- 3:39Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 3:44podcast host, coach, graduate student, and yes, of
- 3:49course, a passionate lifelong learner.
- 3:51And it is my privilege and pleasure to
- 3:53be with you guys here today.
- 3:55And someone who lives what he teaches and
- 3:58shows up every day to help you reset,
- 4:02refocus, and rise higher because we always can.
- 4:05Today kicks off the season of our season
- 4:09five.
- 4:10It is basically in season five.
- 4:16We're on show one, episode number one, and
- 4:20there is no better way to start 2026
- 4:24than by resetting the one thing that drives
- 4:27everything else.
- 4:29What is it guys?
- 4:30You're ready for it?
- 4:31It is none other than your mindset.
- 4:35Yes, your mindset.
- 4:37And I know that's important to understand.
- 4:41Hopefully that makes sense to you, okay?
- 4:47Hopefully mindset means a lot.
- 4:50And I'm gonna tell you that you mean
- 4:56something to you, okay?
- 5:02Does that make sense?
- 5:06Hopefully it does.
- 5:07And I wanna let you know that mindset
- 5:09is truly, truly, truly key, all right?
- 5:13So this episode is called Reset Your Mindset
- 5:17for 2026.
- 5:1930 micro shifts to start the year strong.
- 5:22Instead of chasing big, fragile resolutions that crack
- 5:26by week two, you and I are going
- 5:29to build something much more resilient, more powerful,
- 5:33and of course, repeatable for the mindset shifts
- 5:36that will turn into habits, identity, and of
- 5:39course, long-term growth.
- 5:41Does that make sense to everyone?
- 5:44Hopefully it does.
- 5:45So think of this as a mental set
- 5:48of systems upgrade for your year.
- 5:51So grab a notebook, take a breath, and
- 5:54let's step into a version of you that
- 5:562026 is waiting on.
- 5:59I've got my water, maybe you've got your
- 6:00drink or your beverage or your snack, and
- 6:04let's go ahead and kick this off because
- 6:06this is gonna be, when I say, an
- 6:07amazing, amazing year.
- 6:09It's going to be an amazing year, but
- 6:11the choice to make it amazing, guys, comes
- 6:13from you.
- 6:14Nowhere else.
- 6:15It comes from you.
- 6:17I think that's an important piece that a
- 6:19lot of people don't really get.
- 6:27And hopefully that makes sense.
- 6:30But I know hopefully this can help you.
- 6:48And hopefully that means something to you.
- 6:58And hopefully you know that the decision to
- 7:01move forward is totally up to you.
- 7:03Number one, decide who you want to be
- 7:07in 2026.
- 7:08Before you obsess over what you wanna do,
- 7:12get clear on who you wanna be.
- 7:14Are you the calm leader, the courageous creator,
- 7:17the disciplined builder?
- 7:20When your identity leads, your actions will always
- 7:23follow.
- 7:23And I think that's important to understand.
- 7:26Number two, choose one word or phrase as
- 7:29your theme, your mantra.
- 7:31Pick a guiding word for 2026, like growth,
- 7:36okay?
- 7:38Clarity or courage.
- 7:41This becomes your North Star, a simple mental
- 7:44anchor that you can return to when life
- 7:47gets, let's say, a little bit noisy.
- 7:50And we all know life can get noisy
- 7:53sometimes.
- 7:53So I think it's important that we do
- 7:55have an established anchor.
- 7:57Even though it's already in 2026, you're still
- 8:01okay to set your goals and your aspirations.
- 8:03You know, just don't wait till next week,
- 8:05okay?
- 8:05So I think that's important to understand.
- 8:09And I think that's a very important thing
- 8:14to know.
- 8:16And I think hopefully that'll mean that you
- 8:20have more power than you believe is actually
- 8:24possible, okay?
- 8:26That's important.
- 8:27So number three, guys, we're gonna get right
- 8:29into number three.
- 8:29You ready?
- 8:30Number three is a really good one.
- 8:32And that is write how you want to
- 8:36feel more often.
- 8:37Decide on three feelings you want more of
- 8:40this year.
- 8:41Maybe it's calmness, energized, confident.
- 8:44When you know the feelings you're aiming for,
- 8:48you start choosing habits that create them.
- 8:52Almost like automatically.
- 8:54I think that's a really cool thing to
- 8:59understand, right?
- 9:01Number four, guys, swap new year for new
- 9:05me.
- 9:06New year, better habits.
- 9:08You don't need a new you.
- 9:10You need an upgraded set of systems.
- 9:12Focus less on the reinvention and more on
- 9:16refining the small things you do every single
- 9:19day in your life.
- 9:20And these are not hard things.
- 9:22These are the small choices that you make
- 9:24every single day in your life, okay?
- 9:26I think that's a very important thing too.
- 9:33People don't really get what that means.
- 9:38And I think what it means is that
- 9:40we have to be somebody that is gonna
- 9:44stick to our values, is gonna stick to
- 9:46our core every single day.
- 9:48I think that's the real thing that I
- 9:50want all of you to understand, is that
- 9:53whole thing.
- 9:58I think that's the most important thing.
- 10:00So number five, list three things from 2025
- 10:05you're proud of.
- 10:06Pause and honor what you already did right,
- 10:11big or small.
- 10:13Pride in the past effort fuels belief in
- 10:16the future growth for something even stronger and
- 10:18bigger.
- 10:19Number six, guys, name one limiting belief you're
- 10:23leaving in 2025.
- 10:25Call it out directly.
- 10:26Maybe I'm always behind or I'm not a
- 10:29disciplined person.
- 10:31Once it's named, it's easier to challenge and
- 10:34release it.
- 10:35But you have to first be open to
- 10:38these things and move on.
- 10:40That's probably the most important thing that I
- 10:42can tell you, is you have to do
- 10:44that.
- 10:46Number seven, guys, install one new empowering belief.
- 10:50Replace that old script with something better like
- 10:53I'm capable of consistent progress or I learn
- 10:58quickly when I commit.
- 11:01Repeat it until it feels familiar, all right?
- 11:04Number eight, guys, pick one area where progress
- 11:07beats perfection.
- 11:09Choose a part of your life.
- 11:12Could be fitness, content, business relationships where you
- 11:16celebrate movement, not flawlessness.
- 11:20See, perfectionism kills momentum.
- 11:23Progress will always build it.
- 11:25But I think a lot of people and
- 11:28companies don't really get that.
- 11:31They get stuck because they think it's gotta
- 11:34be perfect first.
- 11:37Somebody said to me one time, John, done
- 11:40is better than perfect.
- 11:41Now, you can always go back and you
- 11:42can always re-comb the hair or change
- 11:46some things or smooth over some edges or
- 11:48repaint some stuff, you get my idea.
- 11:50You have to get the idea done and
- 11:53down because if you don't, you will definitely
- 11:56have a big problem.
- 11:59So remember, done is better than perfect even
- 12:01though I know you may want to do
- 12:04more.
- 12:05Then just be done.
- 12:07You may have to revise it.
- 12:10Number nine, block 10 minutes a day as
- 12:13future me time.
- 12:15Put it in your calendar.
- 12:17Use those 10 minutes for anything that future
- 12:21you will thank you for.
- 12:23Planning, learning, tidying, reflecting or taking one small
- 12:28step, right?
- 12:30Remember, it's not about doing everything overnight.
- 12:33I know so many people that wanna do
- 12:35it all overnight and that's not the right
- 12:37way to do it.
- 12:38In fact, that's just gonna get you frustrated
- 12:41and it's gonna get you into not wanting
- 12:44to do anything.
- 12:44It's gonna get you into a deeper mode
- 12:47of procrastination and nobody wants that, right?
- 12:50Number 10, write a letter from your future
- 12:52self.
- 12:53Date it December 31st, 2026.
- 12:56Write as if future you is thanking present
- 13:00you for the changes you made, the courage
- 13:03showed and the habits you stuck with.
- 13:07Let that vision pull you forward.
- 13:11And I think when we can start to
- 13:12embrace, when we can start to experience these
- 13:14things, our lives will change.
- 13:18Our lives will change, guys.
- 13:20I think that's a very important thing that
- 13:24a lot of people miss is that there's
- 13:26so much out there for us and we
- 13:28can change and we can become so much
- 13:31better, right?
- 13:32We can become so much better.
- 13:34And I think that's a very important thing.
- 13:39Number 11, set one health habit just for
- 13:43January.
- 13:44Keep it small on purpose.
- 13:46Maybe a daily walk, morning stretch or an
- 13:50extra glass of water.
- 13:53You know, I've been on water for many,
- 13:54many years and I love my RO water.
- 13:57Prove to yourself that you can be consistent
- 14:02before you go bigger.
- 14:05Number 12, guys, set one relationship habit for
- 14:09January.
- 14:10Decide how you'll show up better for people.
- 14:13Maybe a daily appreciation message or a weekly
- 14:17check-in call.
- 14:18Strong ears are built on strong connections.
- 14:22That's important, guys.
- 14:25Number 13, set one career or business habit
- 14:31up for January.
- 14:33Pick a simple, repeatable action.
- 14:3510 minutes of learning, one outreach or a
- 14:39daily follow-up.
- 14:41When your career has a rhythm, your results
- 14:44will compound.
- 14:45I think that's important.
- 14:47Number 14, choose one non-negotiable boundary for
- 14:52your time or your energy.
- 14:53Maybe it's no work calls after a certain
- 14:55hour or no doom scrolling in bed.
- 14:58Protecting your energy is how you protect your
- 15:01future.
- 15:02Let's remember that.
- 15:04Number 15, guys, decide.
- 15:07Everything's about decisions.
- 15:09Decide what you'll stop apologizing for.
- 15:11In 2026, you're done apologizing for having goals,
- 15:16standards or needing rest.
- 15:19Your needs are not inconveniences.
- 15:21They're part of your own unique design, all
- 15:25right?
- 15:26Number 16, create a simple friction list.
- 15:31Write down three things that regularly drain you
- 15:34like cluttered email, unplanned mornings or certain distractions
- 15:39and one step to reduce each of them.
- 15:43Smooth the rough edges of your day and
- 15:46you'll see that your day will actually become
- 15:49a lot better, right?
- 15:52So let's go ahead and follow those steps.
- 15:56Number 17, guys, make a fuel list.
- 16:01Identify three things that reliably recharge you.
- 16:05Maybe it's music, a walk, journaling, prayer or
- 16:10reading and actually scheduling at least one of
- 16:13them for this upcoming week.
- 16:15When we find these things, we sometimes wonder
- 16:20why things are a certain way.
- 16:25We can know that a lot can change
- 16:27in our life.
- 16:28A lot can change in our life, okay?
- 16:31All right, number 18, guys, commit to learning
- 16:36one meaningful skill in 2026.
- 16:38Now, I know you're probably saying, John, I
- 16:40don't wanna learn anything.
- 16:41Like, I don't wanna do anything.
- 16:43You know, just learning one skill will make
- 16:46you a lot, lot better than you probably
- 16:50ever envisioned could ever be.
- 16:53But you have to start with the discipline
- 16:55to actually want to do it, right?
- 16:58Choose a skill that elevates your life.
- 17:03Public speaking, AI marketing, leadership or something deeply
- 17:09personal.
- 17:10A year from now, you'll be grateful you
- 17:12started it.
- 17:13So let's go ahead and get that started,
- 17:16all right?
- 17:17Number 19, guys, number 19, pick a small
- 17:22January challenge.
- 17:24Try something like no phone after a certain
- 17:27time, XPM, like 10 pages of reading maybe
- 17:31a day or maybe daily journaling or short
- 17:34focus challenges.
- 17:36They will build discipline muscle that you didn't
- 17:39know that you could.
- 17:42Number 20, guys, decide how you'll measure growth
- 17:47besides money.
- 17:50Track things like relationships, improved skills, gained impact
- 17:55that's created for you or well-being increased.
- 17:59When you expand your definition of success, you
- 18:02expand your life.
- 18:04I think that's something a lot of people
- 18:06miss is that if we could just realize
- 18:09we're all about neuroplasticity, we understand that concept,
- 18:14our life can change so very much, okay?
- 18:17I mean a lot, not just a little
- 18:19bit.
- 18:20So that's a very important thing to do.
- 18:22Number 21, choose one thing you will delegate
- 18:26or drop.
- 18:28Stop trying to do it all.
- 18:29Decide on one task, project or responsibility.
- 18:31You handle off or simply stop doing.
- 18:34So you can focus on what really moves
- 18:37the needle.
- 18:40Number 22, guys, see all these points, they
- 18:44actually mean something, okay?
- 18:48All these points actually will mean something in
- 18:51your life, but you have to embrace them.
- 18:55That's an important thing.
- 18:56Number 22, write a simple why statement for
- 19:002026.
- 19:01One or two lines, read it in under
- 19:0710 minutes.
- 19:08That will answer, why am I doing all
- 19:11this?
- 19:12Keep it clear enough that if it still
- 19:14makes sense on your hardest days, then you're
- 19:20heading in the right direction.
- 19:22You're not getting off path because I think
- 19:24sometimes when a new year starts, we have
- 19:27all these great ideas, but then we don't
- 19:28stay on path because we become overwhelmed.
- 19:34Number 23, guys, define what a good day
- 19:39looks like in five bullet points.
- 19:42Maybe it's moved by my body and movement.
- 19:46Maybe it's a focused work connected with someone
- 19:50I care about.
- 19:51Maybe I learned something and rested with intention
- 19:55in it.
- 19:55Using that list as your daily compass will
- 19:59allow you to propel forward, not just in
- 20:02one direction, but in many ways of your
- 20:04life.
- 20:04So I think if we can really take
- 20:06the time, guys, to understand those type of
- 20:10things, I feel that will make a very,
- 20:13very big difference in our life.
- 20:15Number 24, find one area where fear has
- 20:18been driving and hand the wheel to curiosity.
- 20:23Ask this question before I get my glass
- 20:25of water here.
- 20:28Where have I been saying no because I'm
- 20:32afraid?
- 20:33Then experiment with what if I got curious
- 20:36instead of being worried?
- 20:39See, curiosity opens doors, fears often keep shut.
- 20:44Number 25, commit to weekly goal check-ins.
- 20:48Don't wait until December to find out, oops,
- 20:51what happened?
- 20:52I guess I fell a little short.
- 20:55Pick a day to review what moved the
- 20:57needle.
- 20:58What stalled?
- 21:00What's the next right step I should be
- 21:01taking?
- 21:02Of course, correct.
- 21:04In real time, very similar to the way
- 21:06your GPS does in your car, right?
- 21:09I think that's an important thing to realize.
- 21:11The GPS isn't there to hound you, but
- 21:13it's there to make sure that you get
- 21:15to the right destination.
- 21:17Avoiding traffic, avoiding any accidents or road closures
- 21:22or things like that.
- 21:22I think that's important to definitely understand.
- 21:26All right, number 26, guys.
- 21:28Decide how you'll treat yourself when you slip.
- 21:33You'll miss some dates, so just deal with
- 21:35that and understand that right now.
- 21:37You'll have off weeks.
- 21:39Plan your responses now.
- 21:41Kind self-talk, a reset ritual, and a
- 21:44commitment to return instead of quitting because let's
- 21:47face it, when we put too much pressure
- 21:48on ourselves, it's a natural phenomenon for people
- 21:52to want to quit, okay?
- 21:53That's probably a very important thing to understand.
- 21:56We don't want to quit, but when we
- 21:58put too much pressure on ourselves and don't
- 22:00show ourselves enough love and compassion, that becomes
- 22:03the result.
- 22:04Number 27, create the two-minute rule.
- 22:07If something takes less than two minutes and
- 22:11moves you forward, send the email, refill the
- 22:15water, file the paper.
- 22:17Do it now.
- 22:18See, micro actions clear mental clutter, and we
- 22:22don't need to procrastinate about something that takes
- 22:24two minutes.
- 22:25Just do it.
- 22:26Number 28, choose one habit to build, one
- 22:29to reduce, and one to release.
- 22:32So build, reduce, and release, one of each.
- 22:35Maybe you build a reading habit, you reduce
- 22:38late-night scrolling, and you release constant self
- 22:44-criticism.
- 22:46Build one habit, release one habit, and reduce
- 22:50one habit.
- 22:50Simple, targeted shifts change your trajectory.
- 22:55So why not start doing them now?
- 22:58Number 29, decide how you'll celebrate the small
- 23:01wins.
- 23:02Each week, create a ritual, a list, a
- 23:06toast, a walk, a favorite snack, a moment
- 23:09of gratitude, and rewarding teaches your brain, hey,
- 23:13this is worth repeating.
- 23:14I'm going to keep doing this.
- 23:15I think that's an important thing that we
- 23:17need.
- 23:17We all need rewards.
- 23:19Number 30, guys, write one sentence that sums
- 23:23up how you want to remember 2026.
- 23:26Make it clear, bold, and honest.
- 23:30Something like, 2026 was the year I stopped
- 23:34living on autopilot and started acting like the
- 23:37person I'm meant to be.
- 23:39Put it where you'll see it daily.
- 23:42When you stack these 30 micro shifts, you're
- 23:46not just making resolutions.
- 23:49You're really redesigning the operating system that runs
- 23:53your life.
- 23:54Pretty cool, right?
- 23:55So this, ladies and gentlemen, is how you
- 23:57build a year of consistent growth.
- 24:01Instead of broken promises, why not take some
- 24:05of these tactics that I've shared with you
- 24:07and implement them?
- 24:09I know the first kind of, oh my
- 24:11gosh, I didn't get a chance to do
- 24:12what I need to do, so I guess
- 24:14I blew it, I can't start.
- 24:15No, you can start.
- 24:17So it doesn't always have to be the
- 24:18first.
- 24:19I mean, it's nice to be on the
- 24:20first, so maybe you didn't get things done
- 24:21on the first.
- 24:22Well, that's okay.
- 24:24I'd say as long as you get started
- 24:26by Monday, you'll be fine.
- 24:29Just the key is to not keep pushing
- 24:32it off.
- 24:33That's the key, right?
- 24:34That's the key.
- 24:36Ladies and gentlemen, I hope that these ideas
- 24:40not only inspired you to make changes in
- 24:43your life, but got you to see one
- 24:46important thing, and that is you have more
- 24:49power than you think.
- 24:52But you see, it's our mindset that actually
- 24:54changes our outcome.
- 24:59Our mind creates our reality.
- 25:03Our perceptions shape our world.
- 25:08So we can take these minor shifts, and
- 25:13by doing this, we're gonna change the elasticity
- 25:16of our brain.
- 25:19And our brain and bodies will be like,
- 25:20you know what, I actually can do this.
- 25:22This isn't so difficult as I thought it
- 25:24was.
- 25:26I think when we hear about a new
- 25:28year, a lot of us get paranoid and
- 25:30petrified, like, oh my gosh, what am I
- 25:32gonna do?
- 25:32Like, I don't know how to start.
- 25:35Be kind to yourself.
- 25:38Treat yourself with love and compassion.
- 25:43And you can discipline yourself, but don't be
- 25:46harsh to yourself.
- 25:48That's important, because we don't want to get
- 25:52ourselves to quit.
- 25:53We wanna get ourselves to keep moving forward.

- 27:28game of life.
- 27:30It's time not to be scared.
