- 0:26Speaker 1: fifth through November two, So if you want more information,

- 0:33Speaker 1: a former Navy helicopter pilot, federal prosecutor, mom of four,
- 0:38Speaker 1: and Democratic nominee for the governor in New Jersey. So
- 0:42Speaker 1: please welcome you US representative for New Jersey. Mikey Cheryl. Hi,
- 0:46Speaker 1: Miikey Cheryl.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Hi, thanks so much for having me. This is great.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Absolutely. I watched your episode for Potsave America too. I
- 0:54Speaker 1: loved you on that and I love those guys. They're
- 0:56Speaker 1: friends of mine.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Oh good, Yeah, that was a great, great episode. That
- 1:00Speaker 3: was a lot of fun to do.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I'm very excited for your campaign and how is everything going.
- 1:05Speaker 1: How's everything going in the state of New Jersey right now?
- 1:09Speaker 3: As always perfect, it's perfect here. That thing going on
- 1:12Speaker 3: here now it is. It's a tough fight. We are
- 1:16Speaker 3: in a knockdown, drag out fight. I don't think anybody
- 1:18Speaker 3: would be surprised to hear that, because New Jersey is,
- 1:22Speaker 3: shall I say, known for the rough and tumble politics.
- 1:25Speaker 3: We have that go on here, and I've always been
- 1:28Speaker 3: up for it. But my opponent's pretty slimy and has
- 1:32Speaker 3: broken the law in several ways and has just really
- 1:35Speaker 3: gone after my family in a way that's totally inappropriate.
- 1:37Speaker 3: So that has been a challenge. But you know what,
- 1:41Speaker 3: I think in these times, that kind of thing backfires.
- 1:44Speaker 3: I think people are kind of sick of career politicians
- 1:46Speaker 3: who are slimy and trying to act like they're just
- 1:49Speaker 3: you know, slick guys, and I'll pull out all the
- 1:52Speaker 3: stops to get their own way.
- 1:54Speaker 2: That's not what people want to say.
- 1:55Speaker 1: And your opponent is one hundred percent maga, correct.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Jack Chitdarelli, hundred percent maga.
- 2:00Speaker 3: She likes to say that's not me saying that, that's
- 2:03Speaker 3: Donald Trump saying that. And he's been pretty clear in
- 2:07Speaker 3: showing that to the people of New Jersey. And so
- 2:09Speaker 3: he's been in lockstep. And I think here like just
- 2:12Speaker 3: about every state in the nation. We've seen these tariffs
- 2:15Speaker 3: drive up cost everywhere. We've seen the attacks on our
- 2:18Speaker 3: Department of Ed funding, on our healthcare, on even our
- 2:21Speaker 3: utility costs.
- 2:22Speaker 2: So we're seeing costs go up everywhere. And I have.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Always been sort of known for going against anyone who
- 2:29Speaker 3: comes at New Jersey, and that includes members of my
- 2:31Speaker 3: own party. So I think the demand here in the
- 2:35Speaker 3: great state of New Jersey is for a governor that's
- 2:37Speaker 3: going to stand up for the people here and not
- 2:40Speaker 3: kowtowed anyone, including the President of the United States.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Yeah, let's talk a little bit about how a governor
- 2:45Speaker 1: does that and what abilities a governor has to stand
- 2:49Speaker 1: up to Trump, because we've seen Gavin Newsom do it,
- 2:51Speaker 1: We've seen JB. Pritzker do it, We've seen Wes Moore
- 2:55Speaker 1: to a certain degree do it. So talk to us
- 2:57Speaker 1: a little bit about the capabilities that you have have
- 3:00Speaker 1: to stand up to our president and how states can
- 3:03Speaker 1: remain independent and to what degree they can.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Well, a lot of that is the traditional ways, right,
- 3:09Speaker 3: I tell people sometimes, you know, I'm a simple girl.
- 3:12Speaker 3: I just want my kids to be able to go
- 3:14Speaker 3: to the bus stop without people shooting them, or spend
- 3:17Speaker 3: a day at school without an active shooter coming into
- 3:20Speaker 3: their classroom. So I want good gun safety laws here
- 3:23Speaker 3: in New Jersey, and we have some of the best.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I want to make sure that the decisions I make
- 3:27Speaker 3: about my reproductive health are between myself and my doctor
- 3:31Speaker 3: and not myself in jac Chitarelli, who's proven himself to
- 3:34Speaker 3: be in favor of abortion bands, and like the things
- 3:36Speaker 3: we're seeing, you know across the South, where women are
- 3:39Speaker 3: dying of miscarriages on operating tables. I just want to
- 3:42Speaker 3: get my kids, you know, the MMR, measles muffs, rebella vaccines.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I don't want an outbreak of measles, a deadly childhood
- 3:49Speaker 3: disease here in New Jersey. I don't want babies as
- 3:51Speaker 3: they are across the nation now dying of whooping cough
- 3:54Speaker 3: or protesses because of rollbacks in our national health.
- 3:59Speaker 2: So these these aren't to me groundbreaking ideas.
- 4:02Speaker 3: These are things that most people in New Jersey agree with,
- 4:05Speaker 3: and so that's a baseline for what governors can do.
- 4:08Speaker 3: All of these things I've just spoken about, but we're
- 4:10Speaker 3: seeing some really some new and innovative ways in which
- 4:13Speaker 3: governors are growing state power. So things like Mara Healey
- 4:17Speaker 3: and others in this Northeast coalition, and I know Gavin
- 4:20Speaker 3: Newsom's doing it out West to promote national health to
- 4:24Speaker 3: make sure that insurance companies are not backing away from
- 4:27Speaker 3: their commitment to provide basic childhood vaccines. And we also
- 4:32Speaker 3: see people like Governor Shapiro when Trump came after the
- 4:36Speaker 3: Social Security numbers and the license information from the people
- 4:42Speaker 3: who vote in Pennsylvania, and Governor Shapiro said, no, Trump's
- 4:46Speaker 3: taking him to court.
- 4:47Speaker 2: He thinks he'll win that, but he said no. But
- 4:49Speaker 2: it just chills you to know that all of.
- 4:52Speaker 3: This personal information in other states is just being turned
- 4:55Speaker 3: over wholesale to the Trump administration. And so this this
- 5:00Speaker 3: is where strong governors can really come into play. And
- 5:03Speaker 3: you've mentioned several of them who are standing up right
- 5:06Speaker 3: now to Donald Trump and this administration.
- 5:09Speaker 2: So I think it's so key and so important.
- 5:11Speaker 1: And how do you view the tech of it all?
- 5:13Speaker 1: You know, all these tech guys basically genuflecting to Donald
- 5:16Speaker 1: Trump and being in business with him, are bending the
- 5:18Speaker 1: knee for him, and like, how do we fight back
- 5:20Speaker 1: against that? State by state?
- 5:23Speaker 3: So I don't think it's a state by state plan.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I think it's regional plans, okay. And so we have
- 5:29Speaker 3: really high end research and development that goes on here
- 5:32Speaker 3: in New Jersey, like photonics. And I was just talking
- 5:34Speaker 3: to someone this morning about the partnership that is in
- 5:37Speaker 3: place between New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. And we are
- 5:41Speaker 3: going to have to find ways to continue to fund
- 5:43Speaker 3: and promote that innovation despite the fact that the federal
- 5:48Speaker 3: government is now attacking innovation. And so I think in
- 5:51Speaker 3: a regional way, we can really grow our economies, grow
- 5:56Speaker 3: our rights and freedoms, and protect our rights and freedoms,
- 5:59Speaker 3: and grow opportunity in a way that's different from maybe
- 6:03Speaker 3: other states across the nation. And it's already and I
- 6:07Speaker 3: was surprised by this, it's already becoming very clear to
- 6:10Speaker 3: people what's going on in this nation. So we've seen
- 6:13Speaker 3: ten thousand Floridians move to New Jersey. Oh really, which
- 6:16Speaker 3: is a reversal of a long term trend. And you know,
- 6:20Speaker 3: as you look into some of the data, it looks
- 6:22Speaker 3: as if people are becoming increasingly concerned about governors who
- 6:26Speaker 3: are not going to provide insurance for vaccines, who are
- 6:30Speaker 3: going to wholesale promote abortion bands who are going to
- 6:34Speaker 3: allow the president to ransack everyone's personally identifying information for
- 6:39Speaker 3: his own purposes. Again and again, we're seeing I think
- 6:43Speaker 3: people becoming very aware of where those states are that
- 6:48Speaker 3: are going to actually continue to promote our values, our constitution,
- 6:53Speaker 3: and our economy and drive in great innovation for their kids.
- 6:57Speaker 2: And that is very contrary. It's Donald Trump.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I love the idea of the region, this regional thing
- 7:07Speaker 1: and states banding together. I feel like that, you know,
- 7:09Speaker 1: if network executives or tech companies or these streamers, platforms,
- 7:13Speaker 1: law firms would all just have gotten together and formed
- 7:16Speaker 1: a coalition rather than allowing him to knock them over
- 7:19Speaker 1: one by one. It's so frustrating as a citizen to
- 7:21Speaker 1: watch all of this go down. So not only are
- 7:24Speaker 1: you so qualified to be the governor, but you're a woman,
- 7:27Speaker 1: and we need more women. We need more women to
- 7:30Speaker 1: have more sanity in this crazy, crazy world and make
- 7:33Speaker 1: really level headed decisions. I know your campaign puts a
- 7:36Speaker 1: lot of focus on making New Jersey more affordable for
- 7:39Speaker 1: its residents, So how are you going to do that?
- 7:43Speaker 3: I am going to do that by driving down costs
- 7:46Speaker 3: for families here and really focusing on the things we
- 7:49Speaker 3: can do in New Jersey, such as putting a rate
- 7:51Speaker 3: freeze on utility hikes, so all of the mismanagement of
- 7:55Speaker 3: our utility production and our power production here in New
- 7:58Speaker 3: Jerseys and dumped on rate pay and families, ensuring that
- 8:02Speaker 3: we are driving down the cost of housing, transit oriented development,
- 8:06Speaker 3: and developing some of the towns in New Jersey that
- 8:10Speaker 3: were traditionally thriving and have not been invested in appropriately,
- 8:15Speaker 3: like Trenton, like Atlantic City, so we can continue to
- 8:17Speaker 3: drive down housing costs and also make New Jersey work
- 8:21Speaker 3: better for people. Just next door, Governor Shapiro cut small
- 8:24Speaker 3: business permitting times by ninety percent. So that's exactly the
- 8:28Speaker 3: kind of government, responsive government I'm going to run. But
- 8:31Speaker 3: I also just want to touch a bit, you know what, Chelsea.
- 8:34Speaker 3: I have just been running in this race as somebody
- 8:38Speaker 3: who has a record of serving the people of the state,
- 8:42Speaker 3: who has a record of success.
- 8:43Speaker 2: I was named the most effective member of Congress in
- 8:46Speaker 2: only my second.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Term, and who has brought a lot to the table
- 8:50Speaker 3: for the people I serve. I haven't mentioned people know
- 8:53Speaker 3: I'm a mom, and they know I'm a woman. I
- 8:56Speaker 3: haven't always placed that front center. But this has been
- 8:59Speaker 3: really horrible to see what the most incompetent secretary of
- 9:04Speaker 3: Defense is doing right now, because I have to tell you,
- 9:09Speaker 3: it hits home. And I was just being asked recently
- 9:13Speaker 3: because Pete Haigseth, who is that incompetent Secretary of Defense
- 9:16Speaker 3: who's put classified information out over unclassified systems and given
- 9:19Speaker 3: it to his wife and his brother because he's like,
- 9:22Speaker 3: you know, fucking little boy pretending to be the SECTEF
- 9:26Speaker 3: is now saying that he wants to move back to
- 9:30Speaker 3: the nineties.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Now.
- 9:31Speaker 3: In nineteen ninety, Pete haigsf I think was about ten
- 9:34Speaker 3: years old, so he's really no idea what he's talking about.
- 9:36Speaker 3: I was actually entering into the military in nineteen ninety,
- 9:40Speaker 3: and I am so proud of my military service, not
- 9:43Speaker 3: because of just serving, but because of something I felt
- 9:47Speaker 3: like I was building. So the military at that time
- 9:51Speaker 3: was not an incredibly welcoming place for women. I remember
- 9:55Speaker 3: going to a breakfast with my parents. I was with
- 9:57Speaker 3: my dad and that morning, so Washington Post had reported
- 10:01Speaker 3: that a female that shipman had been chained to a
- 10:04Speaker 3: urinal and a hazing event. The former Secretary of the
- 10:08Speaker 3: Navy and future Senator Jim Webb had put out an
- 10:13Speaker 3: article years before I entered, but it was still being
- 10:17Speaker 3: widely circulated at the Naval Academy entitled women can't Fight,
- 10:20Speaker 3: and it seemed to largely say because he wanted to
- 10:22Speaker 3: go desecrate corpses without women around, that women shouldn't be
- 10:26Speaker 3: part of these units. The Chief of Naval Operations, to
- 10:30Speaker 3: a standing ovation, stood before the brigade and said, when
- 10:33Speaker 3: asked when will women be serving on subs, he said,
- 10:37Speaker 3: not in my lifetime. So it was a tough place.
- 10:40Speaker 3: But I will say too, if you could show competence,
- 10:44Speaker 3: if you could just fight hard, if you cared about
- 10:47Speaker 3: your country, you could really make change in the Navy.
- 10:51Speaker 3: And we did. By the time I graduated. I graduated
- 10:55Speaker 3: with the first class of women eligible for combat on
- 10:58Speaker 3: ships and aircraft. A classmate of mine was the CEO
- 11:01Speaker 3: of an aircraft carrier. We just had a woman who
- 11:04Speaker 3: was the superintendent of the Naval Academy, a woman who
- 11:06Speaker 3: was the Chief of Naval Operations, the highest ranking women.
- 11:08Speaker 3: And now Pete hag Seth is trying to drive out
- 11:11Speaker 3: every woman in service, trying to roll back what we've built.
- 11:14Speaker 3: What I feel like I have personally had a hand
- 11:16Speaker 3: in building and so you know, it's a really crappy
- 11:20Speaker 3: day for women in service with that incompetent sexually harassing,
- 11:25Speaker 3: alcoholic alcoholic. Yeah, guy, as my kids would say, JINX
- 11:31Speaker 3: really in charge of all this. So it's really offensive today.
- 11:34Speaker 3: And I think you're exactly right. So it's important that
- 11:37Speaker 3: we have more people serving our country, more women, more
- 11:42Speaker 3: people of color, more people that represent the people of
- 11:45Speaker 3: America so we can gain greater success.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Yeah, we're recording this the day after Pete Hegseeth gave
- 11:52Speaker 1: his speech to like five hundred generals and yesterday with
- 11:57Speaker 1: Donald Trump. When you hear something like that and you
- 11:59Speaker 1: know that this this is exactly the opposite, and it's
- 12:02Speaker 1: so antithetical to your commitment to working, you know, in
- 12:06Speaker 1: the Navy or in the armed forces. What is your
- 12:09Speaker 1: responsibility to say the core so that you can protect
- 12:12Speaker 1: you know, the people underneath you, or is your responsibility
- 12:15Speaker 1: to stand upperside and walk out the door? Like how
- 12:17Speaker 1: do you make that kind of decision? You know in
- 12:19Speaker 1: that position.
- 12:21Speaker 3: I speak to service members, I speak to people at
- 12:24Speaker 3: the US Attorney's Office, I speak to a lot of
- 12:27Speaker 3: people in other areas, of federal service about this all
- 12:31Speaker 3: the time, because a lot of people have decided, whether
- 12:35Speaker 3: it's in the FBI or at the US Attorney's office
- 12:38Speaker 3: or in the military, that it is so important to
- 12:44Speaker 3: have credible people there in some of these incredibly powerful
- 12:48Speaker 3: organizations that impact people's life, impact people's liberty, whether or
- 12:52Speaker 3: not they're detained, whether not they're unfairly prosecuted.
- 12:56Speaker 2: And yet at what point do you become complicit?
- 12:59Speaker 3: And I've had these kind of long conversations with people
- 13:03Speaker 3: about how you weigh that, and it's a really difficult decision,
- 13:08Speaker 3: and I think that's something each person's weighing themselves. Am
- 13:11Speaker 3: I still doing good? Am I still protecting the people
- 13:13Speaker 3: below me? Am I still protecting you as values?
- 13:16Speaker 2: Or now?
- 13:16Speaker 3: Am I just carrying out something that's really dangerous? And
- 13:19Speaker 3: then I should not be a part of And those
- 13:21Speaker 3: are really really difficult decisions to make right now.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I remember in the first Trump administration wondering what all
- 13:27Speaker 1: those guys were doing there, you know what I mean,
- 13:30Speaker 1: like Mark Millley and these other kind of senior advisors
- 13:33Speaker 1: and chiefs of staff, all of these people, like how
- 13:36Speaker 1: could they be supporting this guy? How could they be
- 13:37Speaker 1: supporting and now in retrospect, when you hear all these
- 13:40Speaker 1: guys come forward, you know, they're all like, oh, and
- 13:43Speaker 1: even John Bolton, who you know, like, no, we were
- 13:45Speaker 1: staying the ship. We were staying the ship.
- 13:47Speaker 2: We would ever be saying like, oh, John Bolton.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Yeah he was.
- 13:51Speaker 1: He was actually doing a good job. He was doing
- 13:53Speaker 1: a good thing. Because now you hear them and you're like, oh,
- 13:56Speaker 1: now we're really in trouble because now he has this
- 13:59Speaker 1: idiot Pete Heggs running our military, which is absolutely just
- 14:03Speaker 1: a shanda. It's unbelievable. What is something that's very basic
- 14:08Speaker 1: that you actually missed from your military days?
- 14:11Speaker 3: I missing twenty and that was fun, but it truly
- 14:15Speaker 3: was at that time such a time of the United
- 14:20Speaker 3: States was in areas of the world that we traditionally
- 14:23Speaker 3: hadn't been, and we'd been very focused on the fight
- 14:26Speaker 3: with Russia and the Cold War, and so there had
- 14:29Speaker 3: been some forces abroad. But I remember getting I really
- 14:34Speaker 3: missed some of the foreign places that I served in
- 14:37Speaker 3: and learning about different people, learning about different cultures, and
- 14:40Speaker 3: doing so though with a bunch of other members of
- 14:44Speaker 3: the service, there was a lot of camaraderie there and
- 14:46Speaker 3: I remember just different experiences like that. I remember flying
- 14:50Speaker 3: a helicopter and I was flying with another woman and
- 14:53Speaker 3: the Saudi aircraft controllers would not believe that we were
- 14:56Speaker 3: the pilots, so they said put the other pilot on,
- 14:59Speaker 3: So I put her on, and then they said, you
- 15:00Speaker 3: guys aren't pilots.
- 15:01Speaker 2: And you know we're.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Flying.
- 15:05Speaker 2: There's really not sure what to do.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Yeah, like, you know, we're the only two pilots on
- 15:09Speaker 3: this aircraft right now. I don't have anyone else to
- 15:11Speaker 3: put on the radio with you, you know. I remember
- 15:13Speaker 3: serving in Bahrain, and I remember this experience where there
- 15:17Speaker 3: were a bunch of expets. So they had this rugby
- 15:19Speaker 3: game and I'm there's a fence and they're playing rugby,
- 15:22Speaker 3: and then over the top of the fence, I'm seeing
- 15:24Speaker 3: the humps of these camels just all kind of go.
- 15:27Speaker 2: By, and it was this really weird contradiction.
- 15:30Speaker 3: So I miss that kind of seeing the world and
- 15:34Speaker 3: speaking to people about why, you know, I remember speaking
- 15:38Speaker 3: to a Pakistani business owner about why he was in
- 15:41Speaker 3: Bahrain and what had had brought him there, and all
- 15:44Speaker 3: those kind of experiences I really miss.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean there must have been it must have
- 15:48Speaker 1: been some things that you've taken with you, right from
- 15:50Speaker 1: your experiences in the Middle East. In Europe. You were
- 15:54Speaker 1: in London for a while. I don't think you were
- 15:56Speaker 1: in London on service, right or no, you were, No,
- 15:58Speaker 1: I was there service.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Oh you were at the that was where the US
- 16:01Speaker 3: headquarters of the European Fleet.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I'm sorry the naval fleet was at the time.
- 16:06Speaker 1: What was your impetus for going into the navy.
- 16:09Speaker 3: So this is what I sort of warn parents sometimes, like,
- 16:14Speaker 3: be very careful what you're saying to your children, because
- 16:16Speaker 3: I was having this conversation with my dad when I
- 16:19Speaker 3: was in the fifth grade, and I cannot emphasize enough
- 16:23Speaker 3: that I am one thousand percent sure my father was
- 16:25Speaker 3: paying zero attention to this conversation, like I think he was.
- 16:29Speaker 2: He used to make his own Christmas tree stands.
- 16:32Speaker 3: I have no idea why somebody wouldn't buy a Christmas
- 16:34Speaker 3: tree stand because it was always this Really he was
- 16:37Speaker 3: always like, you know, really angry about it because it
- 16:40Speaker 3: never worked very well. And so you know, while you wuld'
- 16:42Speaker 3: just been he would like be hammering these two by
- 16:44Speaker 3: fours into the bottom of the tree to make this stand.
- 16:47Speaker 3: So I'm out on there he's making this weird Christmas
- 16:49Speaker 3: tree stand and he's hammering away and I'm talking to him,
- 16:53Speaker 3: and he said, well, what do you want to do?
- 16:55Speaker 3: And I said, you know, I want to be a
- 16:56Speaker 3: pilot like Grandpa. And he said, oh, well that's really expense.
- 17:00Speaker 3: If you want to fly, you have to go in
- 17:01Speaker 3: the military. And I said, okay, well I'll go into
- 17:04Speaker 3: the Air Force because my grandfather had been Army Air Corps.
- 17:07Speaker 3: He goes, you don't want to go to the Air
- 17:08Speaker 3: Force Academy. I mean, that's kind of new. You want
- 17:10Speaker 3: to go to one of the cool ones. You either
- 17:12Speaker 3: want to go to West Point or the Naval Academy.
- 17:14Speaker 3: And I said, oh, I'm going to the Naval Academy.
- 17:16Speaker 3: He said, well, I don't. I don't know if they have,
- 17:18Speaker 3: you know, pilots, and I go, I'll find out. I said,
- 17:22Speaker 3: you know, that's what I'm going to do. And he said, well,
- 17:23Speaker 3: I don't think they take women. He said, I don't
- 17:26Speaker 3: know if they take women, and I don't know if
- 17:27Speaker 3: women fly in the Navy. And you know, this is
- 17:30Speaker 3: kind of one of those things I talk a lot
- 17:32Speaker 3: about with people around New Jersey because.
- 17:35Speaker 2: To me, this is what we're fighting right now.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Because when my father told me he didn't know if
- 17:42Speaker 3: women could go to the Naval academy, or he didn't
- 17:44Speaker 3: know if they could fly in the navy, I knew
- 17:48Speaker 3: that I could figure out a pathway to that because
- 17:51Speaker 3: everything I had been taught up until that point was
- 17:54Speaker 3: that I could do anything, was that this country continued
- 17:57Speaker 3: to open up opportunity. Whether it was my parents or
- 18:01Speaker 3: my teachers, or I always tell people Schoolhouse Rock on
- 18:04Speaker 3: Saturday Morning cartoons. I was told I could create these pathways,
- 18:08Speaker 3: or that this country provided that kind of opportunity. And
- 18:13Speaker 3: I just see all of that being attacked every single
- 18:18Speaker 3: day by the Trump administration. So whether it's clearing women
- 18:22Speaker 3: out of the military, clearing black service members' histories off
- 18:26Speaker 3: of military websites, whether it is attacking healthcare or attacking pelgrants,
- 18:31Speaker 3: or attacking all those programs we have so people can
- 18:34Speaker 3: get more opportunity, attacking research and development, attacking every means
- 18:39Speaker 3: of opportunity.
- 18:41Speaker 2: And I just look at this and it just reminds
- 18:44Speaker 2: me a lot of us.
- 18:45Speaker 3: As we were coming up, there was I don't know
- 18:47Speaker 3: if you remember, Madaline Albright said there's a certain place
- 18:50Speaker 3: in hell for women who don't support other women. And
- 18:52Speaker 3: I just remember sometimes coming up when it was so
- 18:55Speaker 3: new to have women there, and you would say, Oh,
- 18:57Speaker 3: the worst kind of person is somebody who climbs the
- 18:59Speaker 3: ladder of sex and pulls that ladder up behind them.
- 19:02Speaker 3: And here we're just seeing that in the Trump administration
- 19:08Speaker 3: at every turn, in every way, capping opportunity right now
- 19:12Speaker 3: for people.
- 19:13Speaker 1: And what is your advice to our listeners for who
- 19:16Speaker 1: are against this administration, who want to protest, Like, what
- 19:19Speaker 1: are the most effective ways to demonstrate your right to
- 19:23Speaker 1: speak out against this, like in your opinion?
- 19:27Speaker 3: So I think about this a lot, as you can imagine,
- 19:30Speaker 3: and I do think. You know, we have no Kings
- 19:32Speaker 3: Day coming up, that's going to be very important. Get
- 19:34Speaker 3: into the streets, advocate for the things you believe in.
- 19:38Speaker 3: And I will tell you and your listeners are going
- 19:41Speaker 3: to I'm a little biased, right. I'm in this tough
- 19:43Speaker 3: race right now in New Jersey. But there are only
- 19:46Speaker 3: two statewide races in the entire nation, in Virginia and
- 19:51Speaker 3: New Jersey. And these two races could either be a
- 19:55Speaker 3: huge mandate against the Trump administration, show that the people
- 19:59Speaker 3: have New Jersey, the people of Virginia do not agree
- 20:02Speaker 3: with where we are headed in this country, or they
- 20:06Speaker 3: could give support to this administration. So you know, to
- 20:09Speaker 3: the extent people have time, go to Mikey Cheryl dot com,
- 20:15Speaker 3: sign up, come to New Jersey, come knock on doors,
- 20:18Speaker 3: sign up for phone banking, text banking, chip in money.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Because right now we are doing everything we can to
- 20:24Speaker 3: get the word.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Out on the campaign.
- 20:25Speaker 3: So anything you can do right now in New Jersey,
- 20:29Speaker 3: I think this is really the race setting the table
- 20:33Speaker 3: for everything that's to come.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Great, great, Okay, Well I will go and make a
- 20:37Speaker 1: donation as well to Mikey Cheryl dot com right now
- 20:40Speaker 1: as we speak. Mikey was wonderful speaking with you. Thank
- 20:43Speaker 1: you so much for being here, and good luck with everything.
- 20:47Speaker 1: And I will be there to campaign with you whenever
- 20:50Speaker 1: you need me.

- 21:04Speaker 4: Genuflecting to lower one's body briefly by bending one knee
- 21:08Speaker 4: to the ground, typically in worship or as a sign
- 21:10Speaker 4: of respect, used in a sentence. Swifty's thought Travis Kelcey
- 21:15Speaker 4: was genuflecting to Taylor before realizing he was actually proposing genuflecting.
