- 0:16Hello and welcome to episode 83 of the All Systems Go sports
- 0:22Betting podcast powered by Rhythm.
- 0:25I'm your host, Josh Applebaum. What's going on everyone?
- 0:32Happy Thirsty Thursday. Our work week is winding down,
- 0:36the weekend is upon us and we continue to grind it out on the
- 0:39diamond with Major League Baseball.
- 0:40Now today is a little bit of a smaller than usual slate on the
- 0:44board today. Only eight games with quite a
- 0:46few day games, but I did find 2 bets that caught my eye.
- 0:49So both are kind of around pick on prices.
- 0:52So if we can hit a couple of these would be nice in terms of
- 0:54the payback here because we're not laying big juice, but a
- 0:57couple sharp line moves in Major League Baseball for tonight that
- 1:00I'm excited to share with you. And then I got an e-mail this
- 1:03morning from Bet MGM, my friends at Bet MGM, and they sent to me
- 1:07an updated breakdown of college football win totals.
- 1:11So I know we haven't talked any college football throughout the
- 1:14offseason here, but I was actually looking at the calendar
- 1:17and did you guys know we are about almost exactly one month
- 1:21away? I believe the first games are on
- 1:24August 24th. So even, you know, less than a
- 1:27month away from college football starting up here.
- 1:30So we'll sweat college football obviously week to week
- 1:33throughout the season. But I wanted to discuss with you
- 1:35guys 3 college football win totals that caught my eye.
- 1:39These are plays that I made today based on breaking down the
- 1:42percentage of bets in dollars as well as line movement and juice
- 1:45movement and also looking into returning starters.
- 1:48So I have 3 Culture Ball win totals.
- 1:50And again, it's using the same exact blueprint that we do with
- 1:53UFC with fighting, which I get ready cuz hopefully tomorrow
- 1:56morning I'll get that e-mail, another e-mail from Bet MGM and
- 2:00John Ewing. We'll have some UFC plays for
- 2:02this weekend, but it's the same thought process looking at bets
- 2:05in dollars, line movement, juice movement, and then applying some
- 2:08other factors here at play. So if you were looking to talk
- 2:11some college football today or you're looking for me to talk
- 2:14college football, guess what? It's your lucky day because I
- 2:17have 3 college football win totals and I'm going to give you
- 2:19guys a blueprint or maybe a kind of just a rehash here of how to
- 2:23identify sharp money using bet split data.
- 2:26But I buried the lead. How about a pretty good night
- 2:29last night, guys? 3 and 1 + 1.64 units had a
- 2:33couple huge hits across the market, including the Arizona
- 2:36Diamondbacks getting a little plus money with the D backs.
- 2:39Remember we noticed Arizona go from around like plus 120 to
- 2:42plus 110. Even though everyone is betting
- 2:44Kansas City, Arizona comes through with a big eight to six
- 2:47win for the team. So you always love it when you
- 2:49can cash a plus money bet. The Guardians were able to eke
- 2:52out a win for us. They're down 1, nothing early,
- 2:55but they eked out a 2 to one win.
- 2:57Thank you to Tanner Beebe and I think it was Josh Naylor late in
- 2:59the game with the game-winning hit.
- 3:01But the one that really got me going was Texas and the White
- 3:05Sox, the Rangers and the White Sox, the over 8.
- 3:08Now this one, if you guys remember from yesterday's pod,
- 3:10we identified that total because it was eight juiced up over -115
- 3:15-, 120. Some shops even touched and and
- 3:18briefly touched or came down or stayed at 8 1/2.
- 3:21It was notable because only 45% of bets are on the over, but it
- 3:25was taking into account 61% of dollars.
- 3:27Now, I'll fully admit we got a little bit lucky on that one
- 3:30because if you look at the final score, it was 1:50 Texas.
- 3:33So it's like, hey, over 812 runs scored.
- 3:36Boom. That was an easy one, right?
- 3:37But if you noticed, the Texas Rangers actually scored eight
- 3:41runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.
- 3:43So they really needed all those runs to cash that over, or not
- 3:46quite all of them, but at least a few of them.
- 3:47But I want to give a shout out to a couple guys in particular,
- 3:51Robbie Grossman hitting a Homer in the eighth, Smith with a SAC
- 3:54fly. Garcia had a RBI as well.
- 3:57And then low, was it Josh low? There's all these lows.
- 4:00Was it the raise lows or this one is, is it Nick, Nick Lowe?
- 4:05But he was or Nathaniel Lowe came through with a huge Homer
- 4:08late. So it was nice to see some late
- 4:10runs push us through and get that over.
- 4:12So either way, guys, only loss was the Nats.
- 4:15That one wasn't even close to end up losing 12 to three.
- 4:17But that's all right. That's all.
- 4:18We flat bet. And while you mentioned going
- 4:20into it, we got 4 bets. Can we get three of them what we
- 4:22did? So three in 1 + 1.64 units.
- 4:26Let's even keep it rolling into today for episode 83 of the All
- 4:30Systems Gopod. Without further ado, let's talk
- 4:33some Major League Baseball and then we're going to have some
- 4:34fun with some college football win totals.
- 4:37So for tonight's slate, again, only eight games overall, lot of
- 4:40day games. So there's only a few games to
- 4:42choose from. I'll be honest, not a ton caught
- 4:44my eye today. There's a possible lean earlier
- 4:47that I ended up not playing, But there's two games tonight that I
- 4:49do like because they match our blueprint.
- 4:52Sharp line move, good bet split, good system matches.
- 4:55So first one here, let's look at a big match up tonight in the
- 4:58Big Apple where the Atlanta Braves are visiting the New York
- 5:01Mets. So coming into this one, the
- 5:03Braves are 54 and 46, but they're not playing very well
- 5:07right now. They lost four straight.
- 5:09They just got swept in A2 game series against the Reds.
- 5:12They lost yesterday's series finale 9:00 to 4:00 as a -, 125
- 5:15home favorite. On the flip side, the Mets are
- 5:17going the other direction. Mets are playing pretty well, 53
- 5:20and 48. Their five games above 500.
- 5:22They've won four, their last five.
- 5:24They just swept the Yankees in A2 game series.
- 5:27They rolled 12 to three yesterday as a + 145 road dog.
- 5:31So pitch match up here. For tonight, we have the Braves
- 5:33going with lefty Chris Sale 13 and three, 2.7 OERA.
- 5:37As a Red Sox fan, that really pisses me off because Chris
- 5:40Sales been hurt for so many years even though he kept making
- 5:4330 million a year. And then as soon as he leaves
- 5:45Boston, he's got great numbers again.
- 5:47Wouldn't who would have guessed that?
- 5:49Anyway, the Mets are we're going to rebuttal with ready Luis
- 5:52Severino, who's seven and three with a 3.58 ERA.
- 5:55So what are you seeing across the market here?
- 5:57Well, Long story short, Atlanta Open as a very short favorite
- 6:01around -120 on the road. And now this game is down to a
- 6:05pick em. It's minus one O 5 or -110 both
- 6:08sides depending on a book you're looking at.
- 6:10What's really notable to me, it's not just this big line move
- 6:14dog to pick em. So not quite dog to fave.
- 6:16Maybe it'll flip dog to fave if the Mets, you know, creep up
- 6:19closer to -115 But not only do you have the line going away
- 6:23from Atlanta and toward the Mets, which is notable, tells us
- 6:25smart money here is going Mets, so I'm going Mets.
- 6:28I got the Mets at minus one O 5. But the really important factor
- 6:30here is incorporating the BET split because the public is
- 6:33right down the middle. They don't know what to do.
- 6:35They probably want to lean Braves because they're kind of a
- 6:38World Series contender. Yet the Mets are playing well,
- 6:41they're at home. It's a coin flip.
- 6:43They don't know what to do. So the bet splits on the money
- 6:45line for this game, this NLE showdown are right down the
- 6:49middle 5050. And what's one thing I've taught
- 6:51you guys or hopefully you've learned from me listening to,
- 6:54you know, 80 plus pods at this point and thousands of pods
- 6:57before this pod when I used to do other podcasts, it's that you
- 7:01always want to look out for a 5050 line move.
- 7:03So what does that mean? That means when the tickets are
- 7:05right down the middle 5050, theoretically, you think to
- 7:08yourself, hey, in a vacuum that you know, bets are split,
- 7:11there's no reason to see a line move there.
- 7:13It's very unexpected 5050 that the line should move right?
- 7:17Because in a vacuum, the actions equal, there's no reason for the
- 7:21odds makers to adjust it one way or the other.
- 7:23But when you see a 5050 bet split and yet the line moves
- 7:27bigly toward one team, that tells you that even though the
- 7:30tickets might be, you know, down the middle, even those tickets
- 7:33are not all created equal. So I always give the example.
- 7:36Let's say there's ten tickets on a game.
- 7:38That's obviously an incredibly low amount, but maybe five on
- 7:41team A5 on team B. So that'll be a 5050 split.
- 7:44Theoretically, it's even, right? But what if five of those bets
- 7:47on Team A are $5 bets and the five bets on Team B are $1000
- 7:52bets? You know, that's going to tell
- 7:53us something, that the bigger, sharper wagers are on Team B in
- 7:56that situation. And Team B in this spot seems to
- 7:59be the New York Mets as the lines going in their favor,
- 8:02despite the fact that the tickets are even down the
- 8:04middle. So we had a 5050 dog to pick a
- 8:06line move in favor of the Mets. Now, I'm going to bank on the
- 8:09Mets few things #1 their offense, they're hitting 251 on
- 8:13the year, 132 homers, 493 runs scored.
- 8:18Atlanta is only hitting 241 with 115 homers and 422 runs scored
- 8:24and also recent performance. Mets are playing well as I
- 8:26mentioned, they're seven and three over their last ten games.
- 8:29They're hitting 265 on the year with a 3.68 or sorry, 265 their
- 8:34last 10 games with a 3.68 ERA. Braves last 10.
- 8:38They're three and seven. They've had some injuries as
- 8:41well. I think Ozzy Alby's just got
- 8:43hurt. They're only hitting 221 with a
- 8:454.6 O ERA. Also, I know Sales had a good
- 8:48year, but did you know the New York Mets are fifth best in
- 8:51baseball batting average against lefties?
- 8:53They're hitting 264 against southpaws, again, 5th best in
- 8:56baseball. Hopefully they get to Sale
- 8:58tonight. And by the way, Severino, he's
- 9:00been pitching pretty well for the Mets, especially at home.
- 9:02At home, he's four and one with a 2.82 ERA.
- 9:07So you add it all up here, guys. I'm sure like me, you guys look
- 9:10at line moves and you probably said, man, something's going on
- 9:12with the Mets open getting plus 110.
- 9:15Now they're minus one O 5 -, 110.
- 9:17We got a dog to pick them. Sharp line move, 5050 bet split.
- 9:21Let's go with the Mets here, guys.
- 9:22Shop around. I got New York at minus one O 5.
- 9:26Keep on cruisin. Last late game of the night
- 9:28here, Oakland A's against the Los Angeles Angels.
- 9:31It's a 9:38 PM Eastern Time. First pitch going into it.
- 9:35The Athletics are 41 and 63. Did just take two out of three
- 9:39though against the Astros. Couldn't get the sweep.
- 9:41They lost yesterday 8:00 to 1:00 as a + 125 home dog.
- 9:45You know, all the Angels 45 and 57 just swept the Mariners,
- 9:49though that was surprising at Seattle sweeping that series.
- 9:52They won yesterday's series finale 2 to one as a + 145 road
- 9:56dog. So for tonight's series opener
- 9:58between these AL West opponents, the Athletics are going to go
- 10:02with Rady Ross Stripling. He's one and nine with a 5.82
- 10:06ERA. More on him later.
- 10:08The angels, by the way, are going with Kenny Rosenberg,
- 10:11who's O&O with a 6.3 O ERA. So what do we see across the
- 10:14market here? Well, this looks like a sharp
- 10:17line move in favor of the Halos. I'm going Halos guys, this game
- 10:21open at a pick em minus one O 5 -, 110 both sides right down the
- 10:25middle. And the public, believe it or
- 10:26not, is saying give me Oakland. You know they've been scoring a
- 10:29lot of runs recently. They've been playing pretty well
- 10:31since the break. Public saying let's go A's,
- 10:33right? However, despite nearly 60% of
- 10:36bets on the A's, the line is going toward the angels.
- 10:40So angels are only getting 40%. Yet the angels go from a pick
- 10:44all the way up to -110 -, 115. I see a couple shops, maybe even
- 10:49closer to -120 but either way, it's pretty clear here.
- 10:52Pick em and always mention this as well.
- 10:54But game opens at a pick. Look at where the line moves.
- 10:57Because maybe it's the case that wise guys who set their own
- 11:00numbers based on their power ratings, maybe they have a pick
- 11:02em game as well. So therefore there's no edge.
- 11:05But there's probably a good chance that some wise guys maybe
- 11:08have one team favorite over the other and they say, hey, pick
- 11:10them, might as well hit this team because that's an
- 11:12actionable edge or an advantage over the book.
- 11:15So open at a pick and now it's shot up in favor of the Angels.
- 11:18So I'm going Angels guys. I was able to get the Angels at
- 11:20-110 Now the Angels are matching quite a few betting systems
- 11:25here. One would be favorites getting
- 11:26$0.10 of steam or more playing an opponent who missed the
- 11:29playoffs the previous year. They're 176 and 108 sixty 2%
- 11:33this season. And then when two bad teams face
- 11:36off, both below 500, just take the favorite.
- 11:39Very, very simple. But it's two O 3 and one 3959%
- 11:43this year. Oakland, by the way, is just 15
- 11:45and 36 on the road. That's the third worst Rd.
- 11:48record in baseball. And mention stripling.
- 11:51He is coming off the injured list now.
- 11:53Don't call the DL. It's the IL now.
- 11:55But he had an elbow injury and before he went on the injured
- 11:58list, he pitched in May. He made five starts.
- 12:01He had an area of 7.17, so maybe he probably wanted a need of
- 12:06that break. Maybe the reason why his ERA was
- 12:08so high is because his elbow was hurting him.
- 12:10But either way, this guy was not pitching well before the injury.
- 12:13Now he's coming back after a month off with an injury.
- 12:15Is he on a pitch count? This is a guy that I want to bet
- 12:18against. I want to bet against stripling.
- 12:20Now, if you look at the A's in particular against lefties,
- 12:24because Rosenberg, the lefty here tonight is on the bump,
- 12:27they're only hitting 234 against southpaws.
- 12:29That's 23rd in baseball. So it's not like, you know, the
- 12:32Mets here who are fifth against lefties going up against Chris
- 12:35Sale. And then also Rosenberg, he's
- 12:38only made two starts this year, but he just pitched against
- 12:40Oakland, aforementioned A's, and he gave up one run in four
- 12:44innings. So didn't pitch that well or
- 12:45didn't pitch that poorly. But you add it all up here,
- 12:47guys, you know the Braves, the Braves Mets game.
- 12:51We opened, you know, Mets as a dog and now it's a pick em sharp
- 12:54move to the Mets. This one wasn't a pick em
- 12:56opener. Now it's shot up toward the Los
- 12:58Angeles Angels at -110 -, 115. So I'm going with a sharp line
- 13:02move. Give me the Angels.
- 13:04Got the Halos at -110. Now over to some college
- 13:09football. That's right, college football.
- 13:11I know you guys love betting college football again.
- 13:15I can't wait for the fall to roll around because once you get
- 13:17football back, it gets crazy, it gets busy.
- 13:20But we wouldn't have it any other way of sports better.
- 13:22There's nothing like sweating a football game, especially if
- 13:25you're on the spread and trying to cover.
- 13:26But anyway, I noticed, as I mentioned setting the pot up at
- 13:30the outset, that we have some new data here from Bet MGM, from
- 13:34my friends at Bet MGM who give us bets and dollars on games, on
- 13:38win totals, on futures. And I found one today or found
- 13:41three actually, that really, really caught my eye.
- 13:43So I'm going to tell you what they are.
- 13:45Now, win totals to me are a really kind of undervalued bet
- 13:50sometimes because on the one hand, you got to have the
- 13:53liquidity in your bankroll to be able to stomach, you know,
- 13:57putting money aside for six months or more.
- 14:00But it gives you a rooting interest throughout the year.
- 14:02The exercise of betting a win total is going to help you.
- 14:04It can't hurt you because you're going to spend some time
- 14:07researching these teams. So at least you're going to get
- 14:09yourself acclimated to some information on these clubs.
- 14:12But to me, it's all about the rooting interest throughout the
- 14:14season. It gives you something to root
- 14:16for and to monitor. And hopefully, you know, you get
- 14:18paid off late in the year. Like, remember, we bet Connor
- 14:20Bedard. I don't know if my maybe this
- 14:23previous pod, but I bet Bedard. You know, I think it was -120
- 14:26Rookie of the Year took a long time to cash.
- 14:28When that cash came through back to my account, you know, six
- 14:31months later, I was happy about it.
- 14:33So let's look at 3 college football win totals.
- 14:36And now you got to remember, guys, at this point, if you're
- 14:39listening to the pod, I hope you guys know these aren't opinions.
- 14:41This is not me thinking, wanting or hoping something's going to
- 14:45happen. This is literally looking at the
- 14:47market and digesting and dissecting where the smart
- 14:51money's going, where the Beck first dollar discrepancy is, and
- 14:54where inevitably we should place our money to ensure that we're
- 14:57with the sharps, which is where we always want to be.
- 15:00So first one that jumped out to me is the Illinois Fighting
- 15:05Illini. Now Illinois, their win total is
- 15:085 1/2 and I'm going to go under 5 1/2 wins at -135 So here's my
- 15:14breakdown and why I came to that, that judgement.
- 15:17Illinois went five and seven last year.
- 15:19They're at the bottom of the Big 10 W standings.
- 15:22Big reason why they struggled is their defense was really bad.
- 15:25Illinois gave up 353 points last year.
- 15:28That was the third most in the Big 10.
- 15:30Now, one thing to look at with win totals, especially in
- 15:32college, is returning starters. The more returning starters, the
- 15:36better it is for you. The fewer returning starters,
- 15:38the worse it is for you. A lot, a lot about continuity.
- 15:41So Illinois is only returning 10 total starters, 5 on offense, 5
- 15:46on defense. That ranks 53rd in terms of
- 15:49college football power 5 conference teams.
- 15:52So among the big schools, this is they're really not returning
- 15:56many guys. So that's kind of a detriment.
- 15:58That's a negative. Brett Bielema, not a huge fan of
- 16:01him. He's entering his fourth year as
- 16:03the head coach of the Illini. His record is 18 and 19.
- 16:07Illinois is picked to finish 15th in the newly minted 18 team
- 16:11Big 10 Conference. So the fact that the Big 10 is
- 16:14now, you know, bring in more schools and difficult schools to
- 16:17play, that's also a negative and a reason to bet against
- 16:20Illinois. But throw that all aside, what's
- 16:23the data telling us? This is why I really like the
- 16:25Illini. Under 5 1/2 wins.
- 16:28Their win total in this entering the offseason was 5 1/2 and the
- 16:31under was juiced up to -115. Now, over the course of the
- 16:36offseason, the under 5 1/2 went from under -115 to under -135.
- 16:43So that's a 20 cent adjustment toward the under.
- 16:46Now take a step back and ask yourself this.
- 16:49If the oddsmakers are making you pay -115 to bet the under 5 1/2
- 16:52for the Illini at the outset, why are they now making you pay
- 16:5620 more cents to bet the under? Well, the price is increased
- 16:59because smart money's come in on the under, thereby limiting the
- 17:02risk. They're trying to make you pay a
- 17:04higher price to sweat the sharp side.
- 17:06So not only do you have a under juice move under 5 1/2 -, 115 to
- 17:11-135, but this is where it gets good.
- 17:14The bet discrepancy is massive on this one.
- 17:17The under 5 1/2 wins is only getting 9% of bets. 9 Ted
- 17:22Williams number 99 #9 #9 Beatles fans, 99 Percent, yet it
- 17:30accounts for 57% of the money. Now, I'll tell you guys right
- 17:34off the bat, right off the bat here, I look through every
- 17:37single conference are all the power conferences and of, of
- 17:42every bet, you know, over under. This is the biggest discrepancy
- 17:45that I saw of any team. Only 9% of bets, but 57% of
- 17:50dollars. So that tells me something very
- 17:52important. It tells me that people are
- 17:54betting the under, are laying big money on this under.
- 17:57That's a 48% low bets higher dollars sharp discrepancy.
- 18:02So again, this is a team that is not returning many starters now
- 18:06has to play in a much more difficult conference.
- 18:09The juice movement is is leaning downward and we have a huge low
- 18:13bets higher dollars bet split on the under.
- 18:15So you add it all up, Illinois under 5 1/2 wins.
- 18:19I got that at -135 Now, a couple overs, Kentucky Wildcats,
- 18:26Kentucky went there. The play here is over 6 1/2 wins
- 18:30for Kentucky. Now, Kentucky last year went
- 18:32seven and six. They finished middle of the pack
- 18:34in the SEC East. Now, the Wildcats, one thing I
- 18:37don't like is they do have a new quarterback.
- 18:40Now, typically, if you're going to bet a win total over, you
- 18:42want to bet on a returning quarterback.
- 18:45But I'll get to this in a second here.
- 18:47The guy they're bringing in is Brock Vandergriff.
- 18:50Pretty cool name. Good, good quarterback name.
- 18:53He's a 5 star recruit. He's a transfer from Georgia.
- 18:56So Brock Vandergriff is now the new quarterback at Kentucky.
- 19:01However, aside from a new quarterback, Kentucky is
- 19:04returning a ton of starters. They are returning 15 starters
- 19:08from last year's team, including six on offense, 9 on defense.
- 19:12That ranks Kentucky 7th overall among Power Five schools in
- 19:16terms of returning starters. So of all the Power Five
- 19:19schools, Kentucky's top ten and returning starters.
- 19:22So they're bringing back a lot of good players from last year
- 19:25and importantly, the offensive line, they are bringing back
- 19:28four of their five starting offensive lineman.
- 19:31Now let's get to the betting market.
- 19:33Kentucky's win total open the offseason at 6 1/2.
- 19:37Remember, they went seven and six last year.
- 19:39The under, however, at the outset was under -150 so 6 1/2
- 19:44under -150. So that told us early that, hey,
- 19:48maybe the smart money was on the under for them to take a step
- 19:51back. But over the course of the
- 19:53summer, the offseason here, we've seen a big adjustment that
- 19:56over 6 1/2 is now -135 So we went from the over six and half
- 20:02wins at plus 125 to now over six and half wins at -135 So that is
- 20:08what I like to call a. Under to over, juice, move,
- 20:12flip. Again, they opened Kentucky
- 20:14juicing up the under 6 1/2. Now they're juicing up the over
- 20:186 1/2. To add in a little bets in
- 20:21dollars here, 86% bets, 94% money is on the over.
- 20:26So it's both a pro and Joe combination and some low bets,
- 20:29higher dollars. But again, when you open the
- 20:30offseason -1 what did I mention -150 to the under, now it's -135
- 20:37to the over. That is a huge adjustment.
- 20:40Under to over tells me a lot of big money came in on Kentucky to
- 20:43have a pretty good year. So we're leaning on Brock
- 20:46Vandergriff. This is someone we can monitor
- 20:48and root for and watch all season long.
- 20:51But what's notable to me is that a lot of starters, a ton of
- 20:54starters are coming back for Kentucky.
- 20:55They won seven games last year. Can you do the same thing this
- 20:58year and win seven games? That will cash are over 6 1/2.
- 21:01So on Kentucky, over 6 1/2 wins, at -135 last win total for you,
- 21:07another over Iowa State, Iowa State over 7 1/2 wins.
- 21:12Iowa State came in or finished the year last year seven and
- 21:15six. So they're going to need to win
- 21:16one more game last year or this year compared to last year.
- 21:20They did finish tied for fourth in the Big 12.
- 21:21They pretty good in conference play there, six and three.
- 21:24Now, Iowa was led by their stout defense.
- 21:27They only gave up 296 points last year.
- 21:30That was the 3rd fewest in the conference.
- 21:32Now mention the importance of the quarterback.
- 21:34One reason to like Iowa State to get better this year is that
- 21:38they're returning sophomore quarterback Rocco Becht and he
- 21:42had a really good year last year.
- 21:44He was a red shirt freshman. He had a 62.9% completion
- 21:47percentage through for over 3000 yards with 23 touchdowns, 8
- 21:52interceptions. So he went from a red shirt
- 21:55freshman now to a sophomore. He started all last year.
- 21:59Hopefully makes the leap and continues to get better.
- 22:00But the fact that they're bringing back their QB who's
- 22:03young and had a good rookie year, that's a good sign that
- 22:06hopefully this team will continue to improve.
- 22:08But it's not just the QB. There are a lot of returning
- 22:12starters for the Cyclones. They're bringing back 18
- 22:15starters from last year's team, nine on offense, 9 on defense.
- 22:19That is a ton. And I was actually reading about
- 22:21how they were pretty young team that a lot of freshmen
- 22:23sophomores. So they're kind of growing up
- 22:25together and a lot of them are returning.
- 22:28I mean, again, you got 11 on both sides.
- 22:29You're returning 18. That means you know, you've only
- 22:32lost what you know, three on each side.
- 22:35Now, in terms of the ranking, Iowa State in terms of Power
- 22:38Five schools, third overall in terms of the most returning
- 22:42players. So this is a continuity play.
- 22:45Returning quarterback, 18 returning starters.
- 22:48But then we get to the data. Iowa State open the offseason
- 22:52with a 7 1/2 win total, but the under was juiced to -150 so
- 22:56there's liability under. Since that time, just like the
- 22:59Kentucky win total, the juice flipped from under -150 to over
- 23:05-120. So another under to over juice
- 23:08move here. Again, they're making you pay a
- 23:10high price to bet the under. Now they're making you lay juice
- 23:13to bet the over. Tells me we got smart money on
- 23:16the over. The over. 7 1/2 went from plus
- 23:18125 to -120. I love that juice flip.
- 23:22And then also bet splits. 89% bets, 96% money on that over.
- 23:27So both the heavy combination of pro and Joe action with that big
- 23:30juice juice adjustment. But again, returning your good
- 23:33QB. A lot of starters are coming
- 23:35back. I forgot the name of the coach
- 23:38there. He wears he wears that baseball
- 23:40cap that's really, really bent in the middle.
- 23:42Dent as a Campbell, I think his name is.
- 23:44Anyway, he's been there quite a bit, created a good program.
- 23:47But this is a team returning a lot of players that hopefully
- 23:50will play well and continue to grow together.
- 23:52So I'm going to go Iowa State Cyclones over 7 1/2 wins at -120
- 23:58So our three win totals, if you want to sweat them with me.
- 24:01Illinois under 5 1/2 at -135, Kentucky over 6 1/2 at -135 and
- 24:08Iowa State over 7 1/2 at -120 And again, you can play around
- 24:12with the juice because shop around.
- 24:14There might be some books that are offering a better price on
- 24:16that. But Iowa State, Kentucky,
- 24:18Illinois, those are the win totals and I'll be sweating this
- 24:20year, 2024-2025 season in college football.
