- 0:05The hell why they blocking out all the good stuff, hits the fan
- 0:09show starring, man, you're messing with my shows.
- 0:14Come to think of it. There was something very
- 0:16different about that Honeymooners episode.
- 0:18I watch today, one of these days.
- 0:20Alice one of these days, he'll stimulate the economy by buying
- 0:24an American car. This is plausibly live.
- 0:27Well, good morning, good evening, or good afternoon,
- 0:29wherever you. You are whatever you do a lot of
- 0:32things happening in the world. Today most of them are far
- 0:34beyond our control, you might say.
- 0:37So perhaps it's time we took a pause and thought about life and
- 0:40thought about the laws of gravity Nord stream to pipeline
- 0:44legislative privilege. The superb owl politics or the
- 0:49news, don't touch the dial. Let's try to hear me out for a
- 0:51little while. So remember when Joe Biden?
- 1:00I stood up in front of a press conference in Germany and he
- 1:06said, This, let me answer the first question, first, if
- 1:11Germany if if Russia invades, that means tanks and troops
- 1:17crossing the border of Ukraine. Again then there will be, there
- 1:25will be no longer a Nordstrom to it.
- 1:28We will bring it into it. How would you, how will you do
- 1:34that? Exactly.
- 1:38Since the project and control of the project is worth in
- 1:40Germany's control? We will I promise you will be
- 1:45able to do it now after the pipeline was blown up.
- 1:52I don't think there's any doubt that it was intentionally
- 1:55sabotage. The only real question in the
- 1:59entire world is who and why who had the motive, who had the
- 2:04opportunity? and I remember having this
- 2:10conversation with Eric on the sub vet, the only motivation
- 2:17Russia could have for doing this would be to pull off a musk
- 2:22rosca where they blow it up themselves so that they can
- 2:27blame somebody else. Other than that they have no
- 2:29motivation for doing this. In fact, it's kind of not in
- 2:34their interest to do it. So who is it?
- 2:37Is it the Germans swedes is it the ukrainians and at the time
- 2:45many people said Dave it's so obvious that it was us.
- 2:49We did it. Now look, you know, the Patriot,
- 2:56I believe in the best of my country it doesn't set at the
- 2:58time, doesn't eliminate the possibility?
- 3:03But I'm going to need some actual.
- 3:05What's that thing called? Oh yeah, evidence of this before
- 3:08I buy into it. at the time that Joe Biden said that in the weeks
- 3:15before the invasion, we wondered out loud.
- 3:21Why in God's name? Would he say that?
- 3:24Is he just being Joe Biden? Is he just being the doddering
- 3:29old fool? Who says things that he
- 3:31shouldn't say. That must be it, right?
- 3:34I mean clearly No president would actually say that we
- 3:41assumed that he was an idiot. But what if we were watching?
- 3:50An actually scripted moment. Designed to provide.
- 3:59Legalized. cover for what was going to happen to the Nordstrom
- 4:07to pipeline now again, Back then I couldn't imagine why Russia
- 4:12would would do this to their own project still not convinced that
- 4:15they would have. The conspiracy theorist.
- 4:19As I said, we're convinced that we did. there wasn't any
- 4:23evidence until the day before yesterday, when Seymour Hersh
- 4:26has Bombshell article hit sub stack, but all of a sudden the
- 4:32whole world is going over. This Now look Seymour, Hersh is
- 4:40not the guy, I go to some people do. but he's not the guy I go to
- 4:48when I'm looking for Deep analysis and facts about a
- 4:54story. He is a sensationalist.
- 4:57He has had a long career. and he has on occasion, been correct,
- 5:04but in most of the cases where he was correct, T', there was
- 5:08corroborating evidence. For example, he broke the story
- 5:11about the My, Lai Massacre back during the Vietnam War, which
- 5:15again came with evidence. We had photographic evidence, we
- 5:18had a court-martial. We had an army investigate.
- 5:21We, we had evidence of this. In 1973 1974.
- 5:27He was one of the reporters who followed in the footsteps of
- 5:32steps of wood stain and Bernstein covering Watergate and
- 5:37later wrote a book about Henry Kissinger, which I can assure
- 5:41you. At least 10 people have read,
- 5:44I'm not one of them. I can't imagine in my life.
- 5:49I'm just sitting here trying to think I was a kid in the 70s.
- 5:53You know, Henry Kissinger was on my television every night and I
- 5:57remember having a conversation with my grandfather blessed
- 6:00memory, About how incredibly dull he was not stupid.
- 6:06It's no wonder. He was just dull listening to
- 6:08him. Talk.
- 6:10It was like watching paint dry and I can't imagine in any way
- 6:15shape or form that a book about him would be interesting at all.
- 6:17But hey Seymour Hersh wrote one, he covered some other things
- 6:24along the way. And usually he sources his
- 6:30material and usually it's verifiable.
- 6:33There have been a couple of cases where he made accusations
- 6:36about things that were not verifiable and subsequently were
- 6:41rejected as true as because You have any evidence?
- 6:45He just said these things and so his story about the Nord stream
- 6:50to pipeline which is on sub stack and opened up day before
- 6:54yesterday. As I said, has that problem.
- 7:00It has the problem than that, as a single Source, it's an
- 7:03anonymous source and no other news agency has been able to
- 7:07verify that Source or verify the story.
- 7:12If the story was an absolute truth, I think you would have
- 7:16people coming forward talking to other news agencies saying.
- 7:19Yeah, I told him that and then this is how I did.
- 7:22It's not happening which does cast in my view significant
- 7:28doubt on the story. It's very sensationalist.
- 7:31It's very Seymour Hersh. the problem with the story is, It
- 7:40has something going for it. That makes me kind of wonder.
- 7:46And it goes back to what Biden said that day about, we are
- 7:52going to end the Nord stream pipeline.
- 7:55We have always assumed for the last year that he was just being
- 7:59stupid that he was talking out the side of his ass had no clue
- 8:03what he was saying and when the reporter says to him, but but
- 8:08how are you going to do that? He just says we're going to do
- 8:12it, and we have always assumed that he was off script.
- 8:19But what if he wasn't Off Script?
- 8:24According to Seymour Hersh the story.
- 8:26Now again giving it its due it's not sourced and it is not
- 8:31verified. I'm not saying, I believe the
- 8:35story what I'm saying to you is Yesterday day before yesterday I
- 8:41was certain that we had nothing to do with.
- 8:45Today. I have doubts.
- 8:52According to Seymour Hersh, the story is that the Navy was used.
- 8:57And that the Navy divers that were used were not in fact,
- 9:01Special Operations forces. This is important.
- 9:05In order to conduct a special operation, a secret covert
- 9:09operation using Special Operations forces.
- 9:13The military and the intelligence apparatus is
- 9:17required to brief Congress. The gang of eight, Prior to that
- 9:23event taking place. But if you don't use Special
- 9:28Operations forces, seals whatever you don't have to do
- 9:32that. Moreover. if you tell everybody
- 9:39on the face of the planet that you're going to do this at a
- 9:45broadcast, Press conference. Which then every conservative in
- 9:52the world including me turns around and comments about thus
- 9:57increasing its reach. And then it happens.
- 10:04It's not a covert op. And as military operations go,
- 10:10it's not secret because he told you about it.
- 10:20All of a sudden, I'm finding myself.
- 10:23Caught between this idea that I have spent most of my life.
- 10:30Doubting Seymour Hersh stories. I don't put a lot of faith in
- 10:35him, I don't I just don't folks had just I've experienced since
- 10:401969. I've been reading his stuff.
- 10:43I was a kid then, yes, but And most times it's sensationalist.
- 10:52And there's no evidence to support it.
- 10:57This time, it's sensationalist, there's no evidence to support
- 11:02it. He has No, real agenda here.
- 11:08Does you because he's publishing this unsub stack, you can read
- 11:10it for free. Why would he do that?
- 11:16So all of a sudden and I'm not saying that the conspiracy
- 11:20theorists are right. Just saying.
- 11:26What if we did blow it up? Do you realize how close we came
- 11:33the World War 3 over that and may yet?
- 11:41It just seems to me like it would have been better if this
- 11:44story is true. It would have been better to use
- 11:45special forces tell the gang of eight and black hole.
- 11:50This is a secret but it's not what we did.
- 11:53Is it? It's got me wondering even
- 11:57though I don't really trust Seymour Hersh.
- 12:44So the other night I'm sitting in my tour class the rabbi of
- 12:49the synagogue and we were learning about talmud and the
- 12:55weights how mood was put together and I'm not going to
- 12:58talk about something. I, you may have noticed that
- 13:01over the past few weeks on Fridays.
- 13:03I tend to speak a little bit more about my faith and things
- 13:05I've learned. I'm not really going to go into
- 13:08depth, on that this week. There are some things that I
- 13:11learned this week that I would love to share with you, but the
- 13:15interesting thing in class was we have a diagram of talmud the
- 13:20timeline. And at the bottom, it says X
- 13:24date, talmud talmud redaction completed.
- 13:28And we had a, we have a pretty diverse crowd at the synagogue
- 13:35and some people, probably a Of the people, their English is not
- 13:39their first language. And so they were not clear on
- 13:41what the word redacting mean. Because redacting is one of
- 13:45those words that in English much like the word collaborate has a
- 13:50negative connotation even though that's not technically the
- 13:53definition of it collaboration to me and I've said this many
- 13:56times is bald French women who slept with Nazis even though
- 14:01that's not technically what the word means, it has a negative
- 14:04connotation. Redaction is the same way the
- 14:08word redaction literally means editing.
- 14:11And maybe the people who put together that chart could have
- 14:14used that word editing of the talmud is complete.
- 14:16Compilation is complete but they use the word redacting and it
- 14:19threw people off because in their heads, redaction means
- 14:25Blacking things out, right? And so we had this conversation
- 14:31about the word. Redaction actually just means
- 14:33editing. Maybe they could have chosen a
- 14:35better word but they didn't in On you go.
- 14:40Here in Washington state. We've had quite the debate over
- 14:42the past few weeks over Washington's legislature and the
- 14:47Democrat parties claim of legislative privilege.
- 14:49Now, the idea here is that they can hide nonverbal,
- 14:55Communications emails, text notes that are taken.
- 15:00And they do they justify this by saying, well, what the law says
- 15:04except that's not what the law says.
- 15:06It says, what you say on the floor is Attacked it.
- 15:10Nothing else is right. And so there's been this huge
- 15:15argument about it. And this week the legislators in
- 15:21question released the redacted documents so that we could
- 15:28actually see what they were talking about and to no one's
- 15:32real surprise. Here are the things here.
- 15:35Are some of the things that were in the redactions quote, how
- 15:38much longer are we going to caucus?
- 15:40Should we just grab sandwiches or lunch while we were meeting?
- 15:45Hey, just making sure everyone is aware that it's beef day.
- 15:49They should be set up on the front steps.
- 15:51No idea what that is beef day. I don't know.
- 15:55We should ask Ford lobbyist Becky to drive up in the new
- 15:59electric pickup for us to take pictures on.
- 16:03My colleagues friends parents had that same paneling in their
- 16:07basement along with a bathroom with floor-to-ceiling, shag
- 16:11carpeting. These are the things that were
- 16:15released as having been redacted under the concept of Washington,
- 16:21State's legislative privilege idea.
- 16:25And suddenly this was released to us with see, we don't know
- 16:32what you're upset about now. Why would they release this?
- 16:37Drivel as it were. The immediate response to it
- 16:45was, you know, kind of like, oh well, okay, I guess it's just
- 16:49not that important. One of the political people
- 16:54involved with all this was interviewed by the paper.
- 16:58And he had us, he had an interesting thing to say.
- 17:02He said that this term redacted. Was bandied, Allah around a lot,
- 17:10bandied around a lot during the quote, Trump era.
- 17:14And that term that was, you know, used was quote,
- 17:20normalizing unquote. Then he went on to add this and
- 17:25I'm going to read you exist his exact words because I don't want
- 17:28to mess this up. You're ready, quote.
- 17:31I think the reason that you read act records, like this records,
- 17:36that are just silly to redact. In the first place is about
- 17:41normalizing the blacking out of Records.
- 17:45Why do people hide things? Sometimes you hide things so
- 17:50that it will be normal when you really have something to hide on
- 17:55quote. In other words, the Washington
- 18:01State legislatures argument is number one.
- 18:06This is normalizing and who taught us to normalize why it
- 18:10was Donald Trump. See if we are actually doing
- 18:16something wrong here in Washington state with this idea
- 18:20of legislative privilege. Well, it's Trump's fault because
- 18:25he normalized redacting of documents.
- 18:32Like I said, I work for the government for a decade.
- 18:37I'm almost 60 years old telling you Trump didn't start this.
- 18:42This was not Trump's doing to normalize this.
- 18:46This is what the government is for god sakes, go back and read
- 18:50World. War Two Letters From Soldiers
- 18:52and Sailors to their lovers back.
- 18:53Home with the black light. Hell, it's a plot line in the
- 18:57book and the film's catch-22. Where they're just there,
- 19:04they're editing the redacting things out of letters because
- 19:06they might be a security risk. And then you got a guy that is
- 19:11just randomly redacting words because he's bored too.
- 19:15Funny too funny section if you ever seen her at the movie
- 19:18Catch-22 or read the book, this has been going on for a long
- 19:23time. But now the idea that the
- 19:27government admits that it is redacting stuff.
- 19:31But we have this release of some banal fluff conversations to
- 19:37convince us that this is all just a big misunderstanding on
- 19:40Trump's fault and we should just trust them.
- 19:45See it's just all a big misunderstanding, it's just a
- 19:49big deal, you know, if you would just listen to us in the first
- 19:53place, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now.
- 19:56We wouldn't have to blame Trump for her own actions.
- 20:01And at the end of the day, you should just trust us because
- 20:04we're government and we're here to help.
- 20:08Yeah, conversations about beef day and electric trucks paneling
- 20:16and wall to wall. Carpeting.
- 20:19It is, makes me trust him even less about you.
- 20:25Hey, there, submarine fans. Let me talk to you about the
- 20:27most exciting thing in currency. The gold back from gold,
- 20:31pack.com Article 1 Section 10 of the US Constitution says that
- 20:35states are actually legal to create currency as long as they
- 20:39are made of gold and silver and now their states doing just that
- 20:44by legalizing and making their own currency using.
- 20:47You got it, gold and silver. The exciting news is the sub
- 20:51that.com is now an authorized dealer to purchase your Kovacs
- 20:55right on our website. Be sure to email the Eric at the
- 20:59svet.com, or you can call me at seven two zero two seven seven
- 21:04nine three, three three. Be sure to check out the gold
- 21:07backs on the subject that calm and then get ready to secure
- 21:10your family. If you chur with the power of
- 21:13fractional gold currency, get your gold back from the subject
- 21:17and now on with the show, let Joy be unconfined.
- 21:22Let there be dancing in the streets.
- 21:25Drinking in the saloons and necking in The Parlor, it's the
- 21:31Friday before the superb owl. And I didn't want to get out of
- 21:34here without talking about that, you know how I feel about sports
- 21:38and football. In particular, although the good
- 21:40news is we just have a few days until catchers and pitchers
- 21:43report and spring training, begins once a new.
- 21:46It's baseball. Yay.
- 21:50But all that is predicated on the completion of the superb.
- 21:52Owl which happens this Sunday I noted today that the over-under
- 21:58on the number of punts the because you can bet on anything
- 22:02for the spur Bal the over-under on punts is 7.
- 22:08I'm going to take the over, it's counterintuitive.
- 22:11Most people are saying, take the under on that because both of
- 22:14these teams have very good offenses, that are able to
- 22:16sustain drives and both of the coaches like to go for it on
- 22:20fourth down. And they have long-range fuel
- 22:23goal kickers. So they're going to tend to go
- 22:27for it in positive territory, which is something that I'm in
- 22:31favor of anyway. And so it just seems
- 22:33counterintuitive to me, but I have a gut instinct that when
- 22:39you're talking about the superb owl peoples nerves tend to get
- 22:42them and particularly the early parts of the game Things Are.
- 22:48Not as smooth as they would like to be.
- 22:50Or they tend to fall apart later on aka the Denver Broncos and
- 22:551987, 1988 Super Bowl. Anyway, I'm going to take the
- 23:00over on that and I think there's going to be more than seven
- 23:02punts. You'd like to like to take me up
- 23:06on that and send me an e-mail Dave at the Dave Bowman show.com
- 23:09or text me, 20 95/65 date. I don't know what will bat maybe
- 23:13a cup of coffee or something, but I'm going to take the over
- 23:15on the punts, my job. Prediction for the game is.
- 23:23I'm not sure this is one of those hardest games, my wife is
- 23:25texting me. Sorry.
- 23:27This is one of those. She's getting ready to leave
- 23:29from work. And Anyway, this is one of those
- 23:34games that boy, I just don't have a strong feeling, either
- 23:37way, the Eagles thinker a little bit overrated, they had a very
- 23:43easy schedule during the regular season at times, when they were
- 23:47supposed to be really good, they laid eggs.
- 23:51In the playoffs, they beat the Giants.
- 23:52Who are you again? My favorite team.
- 23:57One of my favorite teams. I grew up a Broncos fan, but
- 24:01those of you new to the show, the grew up in Denver, the AFL
- 24:04era. I was a huge Broncos fan, but in
- 24:07when I grew up, you had to favorite teams because you had
- 24:10an AFL team at an NFL team because the two are not the
- 24:14same. And so, my NFL team was the
- 24:16Giants. Always loved the Giants.
- 24:20Anyway, they beat the Giants but the Giants are a rebuilding team
- 24:23and they weren't even supposed to be there.
- 24:25They just sort of locked into the whole thing and then they
- 24:29bill beat the 49ers who Had no quarterback had no team.
- 24:34I think they were medically. They were you know there was it
- 24:37was a disaster. So there's a lot of people
- 24:40doubting that the Eagles have that so the Eagles may have that
- 24:43chip on their shoulder saying, nobody believes in US.
- 24:46The Chiefs have been there, they wanted.
- 24:48They've lost it. They've been dominating but they
- 24:53are. They got some injuries and they
- 24:56don't have the big play capabilities that they used to
- 24:58have the line. Right now is Philadelphia one
- 25:01and a half. Boy, I just don't know.
- 25:06My my rule of thumb is I always take the AFL team unless it's
- 25:10the Giants because then I love the Giants and I can't bet
- 25:14against my giant. So I'm going to take the Chiefs,
- 25:18take the point and a half but I don't know.
- 25:20Nothing would surprise me in this one.
- 25:22It really wouldn't and we'll see what happens.
- 25:26We're not going to talk about it on Monday though because on
- 25:29Monday, Judd Spitzer will be here in Judd is involved with a
- 25:33non-profit group down in Florida, that deal.
- 25:35With fentanyl heroin that sort of thing, and getting people
- 25:42saved from that stuff. And I mentioned the other day
- 25:45that I have a lot of questions about fitting all, and I was
- 25:48talking with Rod about it, and then it just hit me.
- 25:50Wait, Judd does this. You, he's worked with a
- 25:54nonprofit that does this. So, I called him up and said,
- 25:56hey, let's talk about this. And so he will be here on
- 25:59Monday, and we're going to go through this.
- 26:02We're going to get, we're gonna get me up to speed and it about
- 26:06why this fentanyl problem is what it is.
- 26:09Because, look, I get drugs, I understand it in a big Pie in
- 26:14the Sky, kind of way. What I'm having a problem with
- 26:16his wife, it in all and why now and the answers seem to Pat.
- 26:23And so I want to, I want to get shot in here.
- 26:25We'll talk to him on Monday about those kind of things.
- 26:28So, come on back on Monday. And not only we have the superb,
- 26:32Al results, but we'll have Judd to talk.
- 26:35About fentanyl heroin and his nonprofit group that deals with
- 26:41those things. Other than that enjoy the game
- 26:44and have a great weekend. Take the time right now.
- 26:46Tell the people that matter in your life you love them very
- 26:48much, miss them if they weren't there.
- 26:50So don't pass up those opportunities.
- 26:52You don't want to have that regret plausibly live.
- 26:55I'm Dave Bowman and we will see you next time.
