Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:09Speaker 1: Amy Torber and coming up on today's show, Matt Zukowski
- 0:13Speaker 1: opens up about his divorce from Tammy Hembrough. Bec Judd
- 0:17Speaker 1: vows to share exactly what cosmetic procedures she's had done.
- 0:21Speaker 1: AFL star Bailey Smith joins Tinder and Rob Irwin's Dine
- 0:25Speaker 1: and Dash. But first, Rachel Dillon and Toby Pearce have
- 0:29Speaker 1: welcomed their first child together and After a well-documented IVF journey,
- 0:34Speaker 1: the fitness influencer revealed the news to her 1.9 million
- 0:38Speaker 1: Instagram followers, sharing a carousel of photos with the caption,
- 0:42Speaker 1: Our little love is earthside, 4th of July, 2025. This
- 0:46Speaker 1: was obviously beautiful news, but all I wanted to know
- 0:49Speaker 1: was what is the baby name? Because a couple of
- 0:52Speaker 1: weeks ago, we discussed how Rachel accidentally slipped up on
- 0:55Speaker 1: her Instagram story and dropped the name.
- 0:59Speaker 2: And at the time, she begged her followers to keep
- 1:01Speaker 2: it a secret. And it seems like she has some
- 1:03Speaker 2: very loyal followers because I didn't see it pop up anywhere.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it's pretty incredible it stayed a secret because normally
- 1:09Speaker 1: when an influencer makes a mistake like that, it ends
- 1:12Speaker 1: up on one of the influencer watchdog pages. Yeah, and
- 1:14Speaker 1: I'm glad it didn't because it is really such a
- 1:16Speaker 1: special thing to announce the name yourself. So Rachel and
- 1:19Speaker 1: Toby went with the name Easton J.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Pierce.
- 1:22Speaker 2: And interestingly, Rachel's handle on Instagram and TikTok is Rachel J.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Dillon.
- 1:26Speaker 2: So I'm guessing they took inspiration from her name.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Wait, so is the middle name just J? Just the
- 1:30Speaker 1: letter J?
- 1:31Speaker 3: Yeah, just the letter J.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:32Speaker 2: So not J like Kayla Acinas' husband, which would have
- 1:35Speaker 2: been a little bit awkward because, of course, Kayla Acinas
- 1:38Speaker 2: used to be engaged to Toby Pierce. They have a
- 1:40Speaker 2: daughter together called Anna. How cute was the video of
- 1:44Speaker 2: Anna meeting her new baby brother?
- 1:45Speaker 1: Oh, she is just adorable. I think we need to
- 1:47Speaker 1: throw to a grub.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Houston Pierce.
- 1:51Speaker 1: This is his name.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Oh my God.
- 1:52Speaker 6: I will keep you protected all my life to keep
- 1:57Speaker 6: you healthy.
- 1:58Speaker 7: You never get sick.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I'm so curious.
- 2:03Speaker 7: Oh my God, I just feel like this is a dream.
- 2:07Speaker 3: God, she cracks me up.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Every time she's in either Kayla or Rachel or Toby's content,
- 2:12Speaker 2: I laugh so much.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Talking about cute, Baby Easton is gorgeous. He looks exactly
- 2:17Speaker 1: like Toby.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Oh, he's got some strong genes there because Anna, I
- 2:20Speaker 2: feel like, takes after Toby as well. I found it
- 2:23Speaker 2: really interesting to see what Rachel and Toby decided to
- 2:26Speaker 2: do after the birth of Easton because obviously they're very
- 2:29Speaker 2: wealthy and they look like they were in a beautiful hospital.
- 2:33Speaker 2: And Rachel didn't take long to enjoy sushi again. So
- 2:36Speaker 2: she shared a photo of her breastfeeding in a hospital bed,
- 2:39Speaker 2: looking very glamorous, eating this beautiful plate of sushi with chopsticks.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Well, sushi was one of the number one things I
- 2:45Speaker 1: wanted to eat after giving birth. But for some reason
- 2:47Speaker 1: I just couldn't stomach it in hospital, but I'm guessing
- 2:50Speaker 1: they were in quite a ritzy hospital that probably didn't
- 2:53Speaker 1: even feel like hospital. I keep getting fed this content
- 2:56Speaker 1: of these influencers who go into the private system. It's
- 2:59Speaker 1: either in Melbourne or Sydney and they get transferred from
- 3:03Speaker 1: the private hospital to a really fancy hotel. Have you
- 3:07Speaker 1: seen those?
- 3:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Anna McAvoy posted one and I was like, oh
- 3:10Speaker 2: my God, we did our postpartum early days so differently.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Like it looked incredible.
- 3:15Speaker 1: It's like a BMW that comes and picks them up.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a full chauffeur service.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, that looks the right way to do postpartum,
- 3:22Speaker 2: I feel like. What I kept telling myself is because
- 3:25Speaker 2: we both went through the public system is we didn't
- 3:27Speaker 2: have to pay a dime. These people probably hit up
- 3:29Speaker 2: with about a 10K bill. Okay, it may have felt
- 3:32Speaker 2: good in the time, but I'd rather put 10K towards
- 3:33Speaker 2: my baby or maybe going on a holiday eventually.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Oh, definitely.
- 3:38Speaker 4: By now, you would have heard that Tammy and I
- 3:41Speaker 4: are getting a divorce.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Matt Zukowski has opened up about his divorce from Tammy
- 3:47Speaker 1: Hembrough on his podcast, Where's Your Head At? Now, there
- 3:50Speaker 1: was a bit of confusion, Kate, because the episode disappeared
- 3:53Speaker 1: after being live for just a couple of hours.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I was beside myself because I went to listen to
- 3:58Speaker 2: this at eight o'clock. The episode was called We're Back
- 4:00Speaker 2: with some updates, dot, dot, dot.
- 4:02Speaker 3: I was like, oh my gosh, excellent.
- 4:03Speaker 2: This is going to be so good. Went to click
- 4:05Speaker 2: on it and suddenly it had disappeared.
- 4:07Speaker 3: And I kept refreshing my feed.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I'm like, hang on.
- 4:09Speaker 2: It said it was out two hours ago, but all
- 4:11Speaker 2: I can find is the old episode about Anna talking
- 4:13Speaker 2: about pregnancy.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I was like, what?
- 4:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:15Speaker 1: That just made me think, oh my God, what has
- 4:17Speaker 1: he said in this episode?
- 4:18Speaker 5: Yes.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I was like, it's been pulled down.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Yeah. Have lawyers become involved? Like, has he dropped some
- 4:23Speaker 1: really juicy details?
- 4:25Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I was so confused because Anna and Matt had posted
- 4:27Speaker 2: on Tuesday that they were back in the studio ready
- 4:29Speaker 2: to record. And I did some digging. I went on
- 4:32Speaker 2: their Instagram page and it turns out other people were
- 4:34Speaker 2: having the same issue that I was. And there were
- 4:37Speaker 2: a lot of comments on their Instagram saying like, why
- 4:39Speaker 2: can't we listen? And no one was responding, which I
- 4:41Speaker 2: thought was a little bit weird. Now the episode was
- 4:44Speaker 2: back up on Thursday and Matt shared a link to
- 4:47Speaker 2: it on his Instagram account and wrote, I had an
- 4:49Speaker 2: anxiety attack about posting this episode. The last few weeks
- 4:52Speaker 2: have been very hard for me mentally. Hopefully I will
- 4:55Speaker 2: be in a place one day where I can talk
- 4:57Speaker 2: about my experience further. But right now I am focusing
- 5:00Speaker 2: on healing, finding myself and my confidence again. Thank you
- 5:03Speaker 2: again for all your kind messages.
- 5:06Speaker 1: The more I hear from Matt, the more I feel
- 5:08Speaker 1: sorry for everybody involved in this, because you sometimes forget
- 5:12Speaker 1: there are real people behind this.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 2: And I suppose that's because Tammy came out with her
- 5:17Speaker 2: statement first and she was crying and seemed really upset.
- 5:20Speaker 2: So you immediately think, oh, okay, Matt's done something wrong.
- 5:24Speaker 2: But when you hear his side of things, you're like, okay, well,
- 5:26Speaker 2: there's obviously two sides to the story. And it seems
- 5:29Speaker 2: like Matt may have listened to our episode last week
- 5:32Speaker 2: because It seems like he took our PR advice on board.
- 5:35Speaker 2: So he briefly addressed the breakup and was really respectful
- 5:39Speaker 2: towards Tammy. And he ended up talking about the divorce
- 5:42Speaker 2: at the start of the episode in this pre-recorded segment
- 5:45Speaker 2: without his co-host Anna McEnvoy. And when I was reflecting
- 5:49Speaker 2: on what the episodes are normally like, it made sense
- 5:51Speaker 2: to address it at the start because their podcast introduction
- 5:55Speaker 2: references that Matt and Anna are both newlyweds. So they
- 5:58Speaker 2: couldn't really have that play at the beginning. So the
- 6:01Speaker 2: intro was obviously removed and I'm really interested to see
- 6:04Speaker 2: what they run with next week.
- 6:06Speaker 1: It's like one newlywed or one divorcee. I mean, it
- 6:09Speaker 1: is going to add a new element to the podcast,
- 6:11Speaker 1: Matt being divorced, because he's going to be able to
- 6:14Speaker 1: speak from this experience and I suppose relate to other people.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I wonder how many people actually listen to the whole podcast. Like,
- 6:21Speaker 1: you know, when you look in the back end of
- 6:23Speaker 1: a podcast, you can actually see when people have dropped off.
- 6:26Speaker 1: It's just like the two minute mark.
- 6:28Speaker 5: Stop.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Stop.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Well, as for the Matt statement, let's take a listen
- 6:32Speaker 2: to some of what he said.
- 6:36Speaker 4: By now, you would have heard that Tammy and I
- 6:39Speaker 4: are getting a divorce. There is no easy way for
- 6:43Speaker 4: me to say this and to speak about it. I'm
- 6:46Speaker 4: absolutely shattered to announce it, to be honest. But at
- 6:48Speaker 4: the end of the day, we weren't right for each other.
- 6:51Speaker 4: And in this relationship, I've learned a lot about myself.
- 6:54Speaker 4: I've learned a lot about what I need in a
- 6:56Speaker 4: relationship and what's right for me. And moving forward, I'm
- 7:02Speaker 4: going to focus on myself and focus on healing and
- 7:05Speaker 4: moving forward with my life. I know there's a lot
- 7:08Speaker 4: of speculation and people looking for me to say a
- 7:11Speaker 4: tell-all and clear up all the whispers online. But that's
- 7:15Speaker 4: not me. It's not the right way to go about this.
- 7:19Speaker 4: This is literally real life. Like this is happening to
- 7:22Speaker 4: me right now. And I'm still trying to process it.
- 7:25Speaker 4: I'm still trying to heal from it. At the end
- 7:28Speaker 4: of the day, Tammy is a mother of three beautiful
- 7:31Speaker 4: children and I think that I have too much respect
- 7:37Speaker 4: for us and the relationship we had and that's just
- 7:40Speaker 4: not something I want to do. This has been one
- 7:42Speaker 4: of the toughest periods of my life and it's honestly
- 7:45Speaker 4: been so stressful on my mental health. And right now,
- 7:49Speaker 4: I'm not in a place where I want to talk
- 7:50Speaker 4: about this any further. But I've been hanging around my
- 7:54Speaker 4: loved ones, my family. I've been going to therapy, which
- 7:57Speaker 4: has helped heaps in navigating this time in my life.
- 8:01Speaker 4: I'd just like to say I appreciate everyone's understanding and
- 8:04Speaker 4: kindness during this time.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Now, Matt went on to say he was grateful for
- 8:09Speaker 2: the kind messages he had been receiving and hoped doing
- 8:11Speaker 2: the podcast would help him forget what was going on
- 8:14Speaker 2: and was an opportunity for him just to have some
- 8:16Speaker 2: fun He finished up by asking his listeners for grace
- 8:20Speaker 2: as he navigated through this difficult time.
- 8:22Speaker 1: When I heard that, I thought it's going to be
- 8:24Speaker 1: quite difficult to just have fun with this podcast because
- 8:26Speaker 1: it's all about relationships.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Yeah, but in saying that, when he was joined by
- 8:30Speaker 2: Anna McEnvoy, I felt like he seemed a lot happier.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Like his tone the last couple of months has been
- 8:35Speaker 2: very down, obviously, because he's been going through this breakup.
- 8:39Speaker 2: But he definitely seemed back to himself, I thought. Now,
- 8:42Speaker 2: despite addressing the divorce at the start of the episode,
- 8:45Speaker 2: when Anna joined him on the mics, they did have
- 8:47Speaker 2: a quick chat about it. And I found the language
- 8:49Speaker 2: really interesting that they used. So the word heal was
- 8:53Speaker 2: used four times. And there were lots of references to
- 8:56Speaker 2: Matt's mental health.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Let's take a listen.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm struggling a lot, obviously. this wasn't what I
- 9:04Speaker 4: wanted nor expected to happen. I'm going to therapy quite regularly.
- 9:08Speaker 4: I haven't spoken that much to you or friends about
- 9:12Speaker 4: it because I feel like not many people understand the
- 9:15Speaker 4: ins and outs of it. So, I talk a lot
- 9:19Speaker 4: with my therapist and it's just getting a better understanding
- 9:21Speaker 4: of everything. And look, it's heartbreaking. I think it comes
- 9:25Speaker 4: and goes in waves. It's a really strange time in
- 9:28Speaker 4: my life, but I feel like The main thing I'm
- 9:31Speaker 4: focusing on now is healing myself and coming out with
- 9:36Speaker 4: a better understanding of myself and life, I feel.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Do you feel like you guys made the right decision?
- 9:42Speaker 7: Yes.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:43Speaker 8: I mean, you guys wouldn't have got married if you
- 9:45Speaker 8: didn't think it was going to be forever.
- 9:47Speaker 7: Exactly.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Well, thank you for sharing. We all really appreciate it.
- 9:51Speaker 8: I know that it's not something that you fully want
- 9:54Speaker 8: to jump into. You're just healing and looking after you
- 9:58Speaker 8: and your mental health, and I think that's really important.
- 10:01Speaker 8: I know that your mental health has suffered. So yeah,
- 10:04Speaker 8: just looking after yourself, doing things to fill your cup.
- 10:07Speaker 8: We've both gone through some very big life changes. So
- 10:12Speaker 8: there's a lot that's going to be happening on the
- 10:15Speaker 8: podcast coming up and You know, we just want to
- 10:18Speaker 8: move forward and, yeah, I'm always here to support you.
- 10:22Speaker 4: And I'd like to thank you for that and my
- 10:24Speaker 4: friends and family for being there for me through this
- 10:28Speaker 4: rough time. I really appreciate it as well. I know
- 10:31Speaker 4: I obviously, like I said, I'm not sharing completely everything
- 10:34Speaker 4: because I'm trying to heal myself, but I appreciate everyone
- 10:37Speaker 4: being there for me.
- 10:38Speaker 8: And I think just a reminder as well, divorce is
- 10:40Speaker 8: super hard. I can't even imagine doing it in the
- 10:44Speaker 8: public eye like you have and everyone... having their opinions
- 10:48Speaker 8: and putting their two cents in without actually knowing what's happened.
- 10:51Speaker 8: So just a reminder to give everyone in the situation grace,
- 10:56Speaker 8: let everyone have a chance to heal. And we wish
- 11:00Speaker 8: Matt and Tammy nothing but the best.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I mean, as we predicted last week, Matt was always
- 11:07Speaker 2: going to try and shift the narrative. And as I
- 11:09Speaker 2: touched on before, in terms of public perception, I think
- 11:12Speaker 2: Tammy absolutely won the breakup announcement because she came across
- 11:15Speaker 2: as very self-aware. She appeared to be genuinely hurting in
- 11:19Speaker 2: that situation.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Yeah, but she also got the first word out. And
- 11:23Speaker 1: often when it's the first person that makes the announcement,
- 11:25Speaker 1: it seems like either they've been wronged or I suppose
- 11:28Speaker 1: they get to dictate how it unfolds.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I think she really set the narrative that she
- 11:33Speaker 2: was the victim in the situation. And while she was
- 11:36Speaker 2: really respectful, there were a few pointed comments that if
- 11:39Speaker 2: you read between the lines, it was Matt's fault that
- 11:41Speaker 2: they got divorced.
- 11:42Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 11:42Speaker 2: So it only makes sense for Matt that he really
- 11:44Speaker 2: wanted to switch things up and share his side of
- 11:46Speaker 2: the story. And hats off to him because I think
- 11:48Speaker 2: he executed it pretty perfectly. He kept it professional and
- 11:52Speaker 2: respectful whilst hitting on really some key points about his
- 11:55Speaker 2: mental health and how the breakup has affected him.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought he did a really good job. And
- 11:59Speaker 1: if he's able to maintain this sort of dignified response,
- 12:04Speaker 1: I think it's actually just going to turn out quite
- 12:06Speaker 1: well for him because I think what we're seeing is
- 12:08Speaker 1: Tammy is posting a lot about the breakup on her TikTok,
- 12:11Speaker 1: like subtle digs at Matt. And while a lot of
- 12:14Speaker 1: people have enjoyed them so far, I think if she
- 12:16Speaker 1: continues to do it, we might see people turning.
- 12:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:20Speaker 2: The less you say, the less can be used against
- 12:22Speaker 2: you essentially. And I definitely think he got a professional
- 12:25Speaker 2: to help him with his statement. And that was a
- 12:26Speaker 2: very good move on his behalf.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Or did he just listen to Outspoken, the podcast last week?
- 12:30Speaker 2: No, to be fair, they recorded on Tuesday. So, or
- 12:34Speaker 2: he could have in the morning, maybe potentially. I also
- 12:37Speaker 2: think Anna McAvoy did a good job because she played
- 12:39Speaker 2: the protective big sister role very well. And the comment
- 12:42Speaker 2: about everyone having an opinion without knowing what's happened was
- 12:46Speaker 2: pretty interesting. So it seems like they're saying that there's
- 12:48Speaker 2: more to this story than meets the eye.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it was very telling. And last week, we also
- 12:53Speaker 1: discussed how we thought Matt might go down the path
- 12:56Speaker 1: of calling out trolls. And this is, of course, off
- 12:58Speaker 1: the back of Indy Clinton's popular decision to hire a
- 13:01Speaker 1: PI to dig up dirt on her trolls. And funnily enough,
- 13:04Speaker 1: Matt and Anna reference Indy and her PI while talking
- 13:07Speaker 1: about how Anna had been trolled for going to the
- 13:09Speaker 1: hairdresser when she had a newborn. I saw this over TikTok.
- 13:13Speaker 1: It was so ridiculous. Like the mum shaming is next
- 13:16Speaker 1: level on there.
- 13:17Speaker 2: In saying that though, I was almost not surprised because
- 13:20Speaker 2: every video a mum posts, it's like everyone goes off
- 13:23Speaker 2: in the comments about, well, I don't do that.
- 13:24Speaker 3: That's not fair.
- 13:25Speaker 1: And But the dad, I'm sure he's fucking off having
- 13:27Speaker 1: his hair cut. No one bloody bats an eyelid.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Oh, I definitely think it was disgusting that Anna got trolled.
- 13:33Speaker 2: But TikTok at the moment, it's just a cesspool. And
- 13:35Speaker 2: every parenting video, it's like people just clashing about what
- 13:38Speaker 2: they do and I'm always right.
- 13:40Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Well, how interesting was it when they were talking about
- 13:43Speaker 1: seeing someone you know trolling someone in the comment section?
- 13:47Speaker 1: Let's have a listen to what they said.
- 13:48Speaker 8: It happened recently to a mutual person that we know.
- 13:54Speaker 8: I'm pretty sure they would listen to this podcast as well.
- 13:56Speaker 8: So we're not going to say too much, but yeah,
- 13:58Speaker 8: we saw that they were trolling your divorce and I
- 14:01Speaker 8: just thought, wow.
- 14:02Speaker 7: It's icky.
- 14:03Speaker 8: It's icky.
- 14:04Speaker 1: But anyway.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Now, when I heard this, I initially wondered if they
- 14:08Speaker 2: were referring to Keira Maguire because So Dramatic reported that
- 14:12Speaker 2: Keira liked Tammy's post the day after she announced her divorce.
- 14:16Speaker 2: And the photo in question was of Tammy wearing what
- 14:18Speaker 2: was being touted as her revenge dress, that beautiful pink dress.
- 14:22Speaker 2: So Kira not only liked the post, but wrote stunning
- 14:26Speaker 2: with a love heart.
- 14:27Speaker 1: And listeners might forget. So Kira McGuire actually dated Matt Sikowski.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I mean, how wild is that?
- 14:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:33Speaker 2: I've been looking into their relationship for our Tammy Hanbury
- 14:36Speaker 2: deep dive, and I didn't realize there was such a
- 14:38Speaker 2: big age difference. There's nine years between Kira and Matt.
- 14:41Speaker 2: And there's always been a lot of speculation that Matt
- 14:43Speaker 2: dated her for clout and publicity because he started going
- 14:47Speaker 2: out with her when she just finished on Bachelor in Paradise.
- 14:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Yeah, you forget how popular she actually was at the time.
- 14:54Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 14:54Speaker 2: So anyway, Kira's gone and posted stunning with a love
- 14:57Speaker 2: heart on Tammy's post and has been liking.
- 14:59Speaker 3: A lot of them.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I mean, some people were saying that Kira's been following
- 15:02Speaker 2: Tammy for a long time and liking her post, but
- 15:05Speaker 2: I had a quick browse and I couldn't see her
- 15:06Speaker 2: engaging with many of her posts. So it's not to
- 15:09Speaker 2: say that it happened, but I do think that it
- 15:11Speaker 2: was a strategic move from Kira to be like, hey, Tammy,
- 15:15Speaker 2: I'm on your side and Matt's a dickhead basically.
- 15:17Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Another very active person on Tammy's post has been none
- 15:20Speaker 1: other than Jordan Simic. Oh, I know.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I saw him liking every single one of her posts
- 15:25Speaker 2: and I could see them getting together. He is a
- 15:28Speaker 2: walking red flag. So Tammy, please be careful.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Listen to your sisters, please.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Yes, listen to them. Now, Matt also.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Spoke about what it was like meeting Anna's newborn son, Suede,
- 15:40Speaker 2: for the first time. And he said he hadn't held
- 15:42Speaker 2: a newborn for 10 years and found the experience quite
- 15:44Speaker 2: emotional and grounding. And that's probably because He only recently
- 15:48Speaker 2: in the last couple of years found out that he's
- 15:50Speaker 2: going to struggle to naturally conceive a child. And Anna
- 15:54Speaker 2: said that she shared a photo with Matt's mum of
- 15:56Speaker 2: him holding suede and then spoke to his mum on
- 15:59Speaker 2: the phone a few days later. This is what she said.
- 16:03Speaker 8: And your mum was on the phone and your mum
- 16:05Speaker 8: was saying that it made her really upset seeing you
- 16:09Speaker 8: with like a newborn baby. She was saying it was
- 16:12Speaker 8: really bittersweet for her.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that like in the position I'm in,
- 16:17Speaker 4: I may never have the ability to hold my own newborn. So,
- 16:20Speaker 4: I can understand why my mom would say that. And
- 16:22Speaker 4: I think actually my family have processed that, whereas I
- 16:26Speaker 4: don't think fully have. And I have brought up with
- 16:29Speaker 4: my therapist and I'm talking about it. I think that
- 16:31Speaker 4: in a way, I've not really fully processed it where
- 16:35Speaker 4: I thought I had. I didn't think of it when
- 16:38Speaker 4: I heard suede in that way, but I think, yeah,
- 16:40Speaker 4: I think maybe in the back of my mind it
- 16:41Speaker 4: might be there. And I think that's something that I'll
- 16:43Speaker 4: get to in my own time.
- 16:44Speaker 8: Yeah. Well, I mean, you don't see a newborn every day.
- 16:46Speaker 8: So me having one is probably bringing up that conversation
- 16:50Speaker 8: that maybe you and your mum don't really talk about
- 16:53Speaker 8: the fact that you're infertile. So it kind of like
- 16:56Speaker 8: re-brings it to the surface in some ways.
- 16:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:00Speaker 1: This is the kind of content that we needed from
- 17:02Speaker 1: Matt in his interview with the Inherited podcast.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:05Speaker 2: And that's why it makes me think more and more
- 17:06Speaker 2: that a PR advisor was involved in this episode. It
- 17:09Speaker 2: is so different when you think back to the episode
- 17:12Speaker 2: that Anna and Matt did about the Grand Prix cheating scandal.
- 17:16Speaker 2: They really managed to humanize Matt here, particularly after he
- 17:21Speaker 2: copped quite a lot of backlash about the way he
- 17:23Speaker 2: referred to Tammy's kids coldly in their divorce announcement. This
- 17:26Speaker 2: was a great way to say, look, he's He likes children.
- 17:29Speaker 3: He's a nice guy.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Well, you could tell that that divorce announcement was just
- 17:32Speaker 1: thrown together really quickly. It was like a reactive announcement
- 17:35Speaker 1: to Tammy dropping the bomb on TikTok.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:37Speaker 2: And Amy, as you mentioned earlier, Tammy has been very
- 17:40Speaker 2: active on her social media channels, particularly TikTok. Over the weekend,
- 17:45Speaker 2: she jumped on board that prank call challenge where you
- 17:48Speaker 2: call someone up and say goodnight. And she chose to
- 17:51Speaker 2: prank call none other than her first ex-fiance, Reese Hawkins.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Let's throw to some of the audio.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I'm just calling to say goodnight.
- 18:06Speaker 9: What?
- 18:07Speaker 1: I'm just calling to say goodnight.
- 18:12Speaker 7: What do you mean? Can't I say goodnight to you?
- 18:18Speaker 8: What do you mean?
- 18:19Speaker 7: I'm the mother of your children. Can't say goodnight?
- 18:23Speaker 1: Friendly goodnight?
- 18:26Speaker 4: Uh.
- 18:30Speaker 5: What?
- 18:31Speaker 7: Good night.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Talk to you later.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Yeah. All right, loser.
- 18:37Speaker 5: Bye.
- 18:40Speaker 3: I couldn't believe this. I was like, the timing of it.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I think, so reflecting, it was Emily that was with
- 18:46Speaker 2: her and they were at the airport. So I think
- 18:47Speaker 2: they filmed it a couple of weeks ago when they
- 18:50Speaker 2: were going with their supplement company to Bondi to do
- 18:54Speaker 2: that pop-up.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Well, doesn't he just have the most recognisable voice? Well, Tammy.
- 18:59Speaker 6: Yeah, he does.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Hi, Tammy. Like, it is just, it's quite a cute voice,
- 19:04Speaker 1: but it's just very recognisable.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I recognised his voice instantly.
- 19:09Speaker 3: It was interesting that she dropped.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Oh, I normally FaceTime him. I mean, I suppose she
- 19:13Speaker 2: must talk to him quite regularly and put the kids
- 19:16Speaker 2: on the phone. But it was so interesting that she
- 19:19Speaker 2: decided to share this video off the back of obviously
- 19:22Speaker 2: announcing her divorce. And there's also been a lot of
- 19:24Speaker 2: online chatter of people saying that we want Tammy and
- 19:27Speaker 2: Reese back together. In fact, Tammy even commented recently on
- 19:31Speaker 2: the video that we shared promoting the Tammy and Reese episode.
- 19:35Speaker 2: And there was this horrible comment someone wrote about how
- 19:38Speaker 2: Tammy doesn't let Reese's parents see their grandchildren, which is
- 19:43Speaker 2: absolute bullshit because Tammy often talks about how they babysit
- 19:46Speaker 2: for her during the school holidays. And she commented that,
- 19:50Speaker 2: back saying this is completely untrue. So I found it
- 19:53Speaker 2: really interesting that she knows that people are shipping their
- 19:56Speaker 2: old relationship and that she shared this because the first
- 19:58Speaker 2: thing I thought was, are they getting back together? Because
- 20:00Speaker 2: she's also mentioned that she wants to do a trip
- 20:02Speaker 2: to Bali, which is of course where Rhys Hawkins now lives.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I just find the whole thing so intriguing because
- 20:08Speaker 1: It's like Tammy knows exactly what to do to stay relevant.
- 20:12Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Because normally you think if you'd just gone through this divorce,
- 20:16Speaker 1: you might put your head down and just stay quiet.
- 20:18Speaker 1: But she's like doing, I mean, I love it. It's
- 20:21Speaker 1: so entertaining. She's just doing all of these things that
- 20:23Speaker 1: her followers would love or ship. Like everyone wants her
- 20:27Speaker 1: getting back with Reese now because everyone basically couldn't stand
- 20:30Speaker 1: her and Matt Sikowsky. Like she's just giving her followers
- 20:33Speaker 1: what they want. Yeah, well, we missed out on all
- 20:35Speaker 1: of that with Matt Poole. So maybe this is just
- 20:37Speaker 1: a double whammy.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Like, here you go, fans. I'm going to give you
- 20:39Speaker 3: what you want.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I just want to know, what does Amy and Emily
- 20:42Speaker 1: think of Reese?
- 20:43Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe they can let us know if they ship
- 20:46Speaker 2: this relationship too. I mean, Emily was the one filming
- 20:49Speaker 2: the prank video, so they must be on okay terms.
- 20:52Speaker 2: In terms of how Tammy's feeling, she has been posting
- 20:56Speaker 2: more content on TikTok where she just talks to the camera.
- 20:59Speaker 2: And she said previously she was trying to be too
- 21:02Speaker 2: much of a cool girl and not talk to the camera.
- 21:04Speaker 2: But she's like, who am I kidding?
- 21:05Speaker 3: This is me.
- 21:05Speaker 2: I just want to talk to the camera. And I
- 21:07Speaker 2: do think it is a part of this deliberate strategy
- 21:10Speaker 2: that you mentioned, Amy, to stay relatable and popular during
- 21:14Speaker 2: the breakup. And in terms of how she's feeling, she
- 21:17Speaker 2: said that she's been experiencing waves of sadness and feeling overwhelmed,
- 21:21Speaker 2: but feels a lot lighter overall. Tammy also spoke about
- 21:25Speaker 2: how a brand had sent her an anxiety ring and
- 21:28Speaker 2: opened up about a time that she had a panic attack.
- 21:31Speaker 3: This is what she said.
- 21:33Speaker 5: But I actually don't, I feel like I haven't been
- 21:34Speaker 5: really anxious anymore. Like, it got really bad a while
- 21:39Speaker 5: ago to a point where, like, if I, like, say
- 21:42Speaker 5: I went to the gym, I, like, the public gym
- 21:46Speaker 5: with people around, I literally would, like, run to my
- 21:49Speaker 5: car and start, like, I went to Coles once.
- 21:51Speaker 1: And I went to my car because.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Someone said hi to me and then I ran to
- 21:54Speaker 5: my car and started hyperventilating.
- 21:56Speaker 1: But I'm not, I'm fine now, so... Feel free to
- 21:59Speaker 1: say hi to me if you see me. I love
- 22:01Speaker 1: when people say hi to me. It wasn't the fact,
- 22:03Speaker 1: oh my God, I can't do this.
- 22:05Speaker 5: It wasn't the fact that someone like said hi to me.
- 22:07Speaker 5: Like I get that all the time, but I feel
- 22:10Speaker 5: like for like a week there, my nervous system was
- 22:12Speaker 5: just fried and everything was making me really, like I
- 22:16Speaker 5: was at the point where I was literally like crying
- 22:18Speaker 5: every single day and I just felt like I couldn't
- 22:22Speaker 5: function properly. But I feel a.
- 22:23Speaker 7: Lot better now.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I think it's really good that both Tammy and Matt
- 22:28Speaker 2: have been really open with their followers about their mental health.
- 22:31Speaker 2: I do have to end though on some shade that
- 22:33Speaker 2: Tammy threw at Matt this week, and it wouldn't be
- 22:36Speaker 2: a new week without Tammy throwing a little bit more
- 22:38Speaker 2: shade at Matt. So Tammy shared a video to her
- 22:40Speaker 2: TikTok on the Stairmaster with the caption, a step for
- 22:44Speaker 2: every time I should have listened to my sisters. And
- 22:47Speaker 2: underneath the video, she wrote, going to be here all day.
- 22:50Speaker 2: I have to add, The song that played in the
- 22:53Speaker 2: background of the video was Taylor Swift's most iconic breakup song,
- 22:56Speaker 2: All Too Well. Tammy's sister Emily commented underneath the video,
- 23:01Speaker 2: laugh out loud seriously though, with a smashing head emoji.
- 23:04Speaker 6: So Nards, what has been your most vain-ish moment of
- 23:08Speaker 6: all time?
- 23:10Speaker 1: Bed Jard has declared 2025 is the year women stop
- 23:13Speaker 1: gaslighting each other and are honest about the cosmetic work
- 23:16Speaker 1: they've had done. In an interview with Stellar magazine, the
- 23:20Speaker 1: 42-year-old vowed to share exactly what she's had done on
- 23:23Speaker 1: her new podcast, aptly titled Vain-ish. Now, Kate, it's clear
- 23:28Speaker 1: people wanted to know because 24 hours after launching, Bec's
- 23:32Speaker 1: podcast hit number one on the Apple podcast charts.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I mean, I know I tuned in with bated breath
- 23:37Speaker 2: waiting for Bec to list all the cosmetic procedures that
- 23:40Speaker 2: she's had done. And I was left a little disappointed
- 23:42Speaker 2: because she ended up only detailing her morning routine.
- 23:46Speaker 3: This is what she said.
- 23:49Speaker 10: This is just me today. I've got fake tan on.
- 23:51Speaker 10: I've got those false stick-on underlash lashes on. I've got
- 23:55Speaker 10: hair extensions sewed in.
- 23:57Speaker 6: I used a prescription lash serum this morning to make
- 24:00Speaker 6: my eyelashes grow better, but I accidentally stuck it in
- 24:02Speaker 6: my eye and then I got pink eye.
- 24:04Speaker 10: I've got a fresh set of shellac gel nails. I
- 24:06Speaker 10: had Invisalign trays.
- 24:08Speaker 6: I took them out and I replaced with a 15-minute
- 24:10Speaker 6: teeth whitening session. I did infrared sauna this morning. I'm
- 24:13Speaker 6: drinking my Age Mate anti-aging supplement after I had a
- 24:16Speaker 6: breakfast with superfood porridge with my glutamine and collagen supplement smoothie.
- 24:21Speaker 6: I plucked out every single visible gray hair that I
- 24:24Speaker 6: could find. I used my prescription retinol. I used my
- 24:27Speaker 6: hyaluronic HB5. I used my vitamin C serum.
- 24:30Speaker 10: I stuck my silicon nipple pads on. I overdrew my lips.
- 24:34Speaker 10: I contoured my face.
- 24:35Speaker 6: I pulled my hair back in a really tight pony
- 24:38Speaker 6: to give myself a non-surgical brow lift.
- 24:40Speaker 1: And I waltzed on into this studio.
- 24:42Speaker 10: You did all that before 7.30 this morning.
- 24:47Speaker 1: I was exhausted listening to all of that.
- 24:49Speaker 2: It made me reflect on my morning routine and how
- 24:51Speaker 2: different it was. I literally slapped makeup on while my
- 24:54Speaker 2: son's asleep. You know, have five minutes to do that.
- 24:56Speaker 1: I mean, Bec's got four kids as well. So I'm like,
- 24:59Speaker 1: far out. You must be so organized. It made me think, shit,
- 25:02Speaker 1: should I actually be doing more in the morning to
- 25:04Speaker 1: myself to be presentable?
- 25:08Speaker 2: I do think Bec will go into more detail about
- 25:10Speaker 2: the cosmetic work that she's had done in another episode. Well,
- 25:13Speaker 2: I'm hoping because I really am interested to hear what
- 25:15Speaker 2: work she's had done. She has touched upon, though, the
- 25:18Speaker 2: fact that she gets injectable. So during her interview on
- 25:21Speaker 2: Stella's podcast, she spoke about how seven years ago, she
- 25:26Speaker 2: was being followed by paparazzi on the way to an
- 25:28Speaker 2: appointment to get her filler. And she ended up having
- 25:31Speaker 2: to drive home because she didn't want to be photographed there.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I can understand that because 10 years ago,
- 25:37Speaker 1: people didn't talk about, I can understand that because 10
- 25:40Speaker 1: years ago, people just didn't talk about cosmetic procedures the
- 25:43Speaker 1: way they do now. Like people are a lot more
- 25:45Speaker 1: open and honest about what they've had done. But previously
- 25:48Speaker 1: it was kind of seen as almost, not embarrassing, but
- 25:52Speaker 1: people would shame other women for doing things.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Well, I think women still get shamed. I mean, God,
- 25:56Speaker 2: the Daily Mail somehow is in my algorithm on my Facebook.
- 26:00Speaker 2: And you see a headline. There was one about Shane
- 26:02Speaker 2: Warne's daughter on holiday wearing a bikini. It was a
- 26:05Speaker 2: paparazzi photo. And it was like, oh, she flaunts her
- 26:09Speaker 2: body in a bikini. And then there were 800 comments
- 26:12Speaker 2: from these boomer men being absolutely disgusting towards her and
- 26:15Speaker 2: women as well, shaming her.
- 26:16Speaker 3: I'm like, this poor girl. She looks beautiful. She's gone
- 26:19Speaker 3: on holiday. The paparazzi.
- 26:20Speaker 2: The paparazzi have taken a photo of her and Daily
- 26:23Speaker 2: Mail are trying to use it as clickbait for everyone
- 26:24Speaker 2: to shame her about the way she looks.
- 26:26Speaker 1: And she's hardly flaunting herself going to the pool. She's
- 26:30Speaker 1: not to know that the paparazzi are using long lenses
- 26:32Speaker 1: and taking photos of her.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Yeah, she had a bikini top on with a white overshirt.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Anyway, well, we digress.
- 26:37Speaker 2: But in terms of vein-ish, I found it fascinating to
- 26:40Speaker 2: be a fly on the wall to the conversations that
- 26:43Speaker 2: Bec and her co-host Jess Roberts were having. They're a
- 26:46Speaker 2: similar age to us, so we're in the same age bracket,
- 26:49Speaker 2: but I've never had these types of conversations with women
- 26:52Speaker 2: my own age. And I don't know if it's a
- 26:54Speaker 2: wealth gap or potentially because these women are in the
- 26:57Speaker 2: public eye and.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Their looks are always being scrutinized.
- 26:59Speaker 1: So you're not getting salmon sperm injectables. You're not discussing
- 27:02Speaker 1: that with your parents.
- 27:05Speaker 2: No, surprisingly, I'm actually not. But I mean, I'm sure
- 27:09Speaker 2: that there are women our age who aren't rich and
- 27:11Speaker 2: famous that are also getting a lot of cosmetic procedures done.
- 27:14Speaker 1: I have been involved in conversations with friends talking about
- 27:17Speaker 1: the pressure to get injectables. or to try out lip
- 27:21Speaker 1: filler and all of that kind of thing. So while
- 27:23Speaker 1: they might not be getting all of the expensive procedures
- 27:25Speaker 1: that these women are, I think it's definitely something that
- 27:28Speaker 1: women our age are talking about and they're feeling the pressure. Oh,
- 27:31Speaker 1: I've definitely been involved in conversations about the pressure, but
- 27:33Speaker 1: it's just not something that people in our circle go
- 27:36Speaker 1: out and do, or maybe they just don't speak about
- 27:38Speaker 1: it the way Bec and Jess were. I suppose what
- 27:41Speaker 1: really stood out to me was the.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Fact that they have the money to be able to
- 27:44Speaker 2: go and afford to do all of these different things.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:47Speaker 2: But in saying that, I suppose this podcast is a
- 27:49Speaker 2: vehicle for them to go and get some of these
- 27:51Speaker 2: procedures for free and post about it.
- 27:53Speaker 1: You've got to remember, they are in the public eye,
- 27:55Speaker 1: so there would be a lot of extra pressure on
- 27:57Speaker 1: them to look good, especially Bec Jard. I mean, every
- 28:00Speaker 1: year she rocks up to the brown, though, and everybody
- 28:02Speaker 1: analyzes what she's wearing, what she looks like. I actually
- 28:04Speaker 1: thought the podcast was quite refreshing, especially that interview with
- 28:08Speaker 1: Nadia Bartel, which we will go into in a minute,
- 28:10Speaker 1: because they didn't just say, oh, you know, you've got
- 28:12Speaker 1: to get a nose job and you've got to do
- 28:14Speaker 1: this and that with injectables. They're actually talking about ways
- 28:18Speaker 1: that they make their hair look nicer. And they spoke
- 28:20Speaker 1: about having hair extensions and their huge routines to get
- 28:23Speaker 1: their hair looking like that. And it made me feel
- 28:25Speaker 1: better because I thought, well, okay, that's why their hair
- 28:27Speaker 1: does look so good. It's not just that they're, it's
- 28:30Speaker 1: not just that they've been blessed with this beautiful hair. Yeah.
- 28:33Speaker 2: I was surprised to hear that Nadia and Beck both
- 28:35Speaker 2: have like extensions sewn in. I mean, it makes sense
- 28:37Speaker 2: because they've got such beautiful hair.
- 28:40Speaker 1: But also the fact that Nadia was saying that she
- 28:43Speaker 1: didn't think she had beautiful hair. Like you always just
- 28:45Speaker 1: assume that these people think really highly of themselves because
- 28:49Speaker 1: they are so beautiful. But you can kind of tell
- 28:52Speaker 1: that they actually do have a lot of insecurities. And
- 28:56Speaker 1: the podcast is labeled vain-ish. Often when people are labeled vain,
- 29:00Speaker 1: they're not actually vain, they're actually quite insecure.
- 29:02Speaker 3: Yeah, that is true.
- 29:03Speaker 2: And while I did enjoy the podcast, there was a
- 29:06Speaker 2: part of me though that Felt a little bit sad
- 29:09Speaker 2: because getting older really is a privilege. And I just
- 29:13Speaker 2: think it's sad that society's got to a point where
- 29:15Speaker 2: we feel we have to erase any sign of aging.
- 29:18Speaker 2: And I'm not saying that this is Bec Judd's fault
- 29:20Speaker 2: for putting this podcast out because obviously there are these
- 29:23Speaker 2: impossible beauty standards that we all have to adhere to
- 29:27Speaker 2: as women. But it just seems like it's getting even
- 29:30Speaker 2: more unrealistic. And it made me think, like, is aging
- 29:34Speaker 2: going to be a sign of class? Are rich people
- 29:38Speaker 2: always going to look eternally youthful? And are poor people
- 29:42Speaker 2: always going to look old? I mean, we've seen recently
- 29:44Speaker 2: with Kris Jenner's face, everyone's been saying that it's this
- 29:48Speaker 2: wizardry and she looks like Kim Kardashian, but let's be honest,
- 29:51Speaker 2: that's a fuck ton of money.
- 29:52Speaker 1: What's that mean where it's like, you're not ugly, you're
- 29:54Speaker 1: just poor.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Well, I mean, eventually that's what it's going to be like.
- 29:59Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 30:00Speaker 1: I mean, 100% I know exactly what you're saying and
- 30:03Speaker 1: I agree it is sad because I think that women
- 30:05Speaker 1: should be able to age gracefully. But I also feel
- 30:07Speaker 1: like we as women have so much pressure in the workplace,
- 30:12Speaker 1: on social media to look a certain way. And sometimes
- 30:15Speaker 1: I think that if you can take on some of
- 30:18Speaker 1: these beauty regimes, like for example, if you're able to
- 30:21Speaker 1: find out a few tips on how to make your
- 30:23Speaker 1: hair feel nicer and it makes you feel confident, you're
- 30:25Speaker 1: going to feel better in yourself. So I don't know.
- 30:27Speaker 1: I just look at podcasts like this is a bit
- 30:29Speaker 1: of fun. I don't necessarily think that they're pushing some
- 30:32Speaker 1: evil narrative.
- 30:33Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 30:34Speaker 2: But I wonder if promoting these types of conversations are
- 30:38Speaker 2: going to have a negative impact because we're essentially highlighting
- 30:42Speaker 2: what these women are doing and making it feel like
- 30:44Speaker 2: it's the norm and that you should be doing it too.
- 30:47Speaker 2: That's my concern.
- 30:49Speaker 1: But it's a double-edged sword because you could also say
- 30:51Speaker 1: that it's good that they're having these open conversations about
- 30:54Speaker 1: what they've done because then people realize, oh, actually, it's
- 30:58Speaker 1: not natural. Like they've paid to have that nose.
- 31:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:01Speaker 3: It is a tricky one.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Now I know I said, I felt like the first
- 31:03Speaker 2: episode was a little bit of a letdown because Beck
- 31:06Speaker 2: didn't fully open up about her procedures. And I, I
- 31:08Speaker 2: wasn't actually super interested in hearing the ins and outs
- 31:10Speaker 2: about the salmon sperm because I think the Kardashians spoke
- 31:13Speaker 2: about it recently. It did seem a little bit old,
- 31:15Speaker 2: but I did really enjoy episode two because as you mentioned, Amy,
- 31:19Speaker 2: Nadia Battelle was interviewed and she's friends with Beck and
- 31:23Speaker 2: also Beck's co-host, Jess Roberts. And they've been friends for
- 31:25Speaker 2: over 10 years. So it really felt like you were
- 31:28Speaker 2: eavesdropping on this private conversation between friends.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Do you know what I realised when listening to this?
- 31:32Speaker 1: That I have never really heard Bec Judd and Nadia
- 31:35Speaker 1: Bartel speak that much. You see them all the time
- 31:38Speaker 1: on social media, but this was the first time I
- 31:40Speaker 1: actually got a gauge of what their personalities are actually like.
- 31:44Speaker 1: And fuck, I think Bec Judd's a legend. I also
- 31:47Speaker 1: really liked Nadia Bartel. I mean, Nadia Bartel kind of
- 31:50Speaker 1: gave off the impression that she was quite woo-woo, which
- 31:52Speaker 1: I did enjoy. But with Bec Judd, I thought, I
- 31:56Speaker 1: don't know. I could imagine hanging out with Bec Judd
- 31:58Speaker 1: and her being a lot of fun.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:59Speaker 2: I said to you that Bec seemed like a lad
- 32:01Speaker 2: and I couldn't think of the female term, but yeah,
- 32:04Speaker 2: she just seemed like a kind of a dad, but
- 32:06Speaker 2: not like, yeah. But see, I have been following Nadia
- 32:10Speaker 2: Bartel on TikTok for quite a while now. So I
- 32:13Speaker 2: have heard her speak a lot and I really am
- 32:15Speaker 2: a big fan. I'm obsessed with her at the moment
- 32:18Speaker 2: because I bought a pair of Henny jeans and now
- 32:20Speaker 2: I feel like I need to buy every single thing
- 32:22Speaker 2: from the Henny store. I Definitely jumped on that bandwagon.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I just can't afford it all.
- 32:25Speaker 1: When she started talking about her hair, I was like
- 32:28Speaker 1: writing down a list on my phone.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Okay.
- 32:30Speaker 1: That hair oil.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Okay.
- 32:32Speaker 1: That's how she does it.
- 32:33Speaker 9: Okay.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Maybe I need to get some hair extensions.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Oh, I said to Reese when I was on a walk,
- 32:38Speaker 2: I was like, I was contemplating getting bloody so in
- 32:41Speaker 2: hair extensions as well, but I'm someone where I would
- 32:44Speaker 2: find that so overstimulating.
- 32:45Speaker 3: I'd probably rip them out.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Like I just At the end of the night, I
- 32:49Speaker 2: usually wear active wear all day and I have to
- 32:51Speaker 2: go change into my trackies because even that's too uncomfortable
- 32:54Speaker 2: for me. Like I am someone that needs to be
- 32:55Speaker 2: super comfortable.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Why is this giving me flashbacks to the Dallas Cowboys,
- 32:58Speaker 1: the second series, you know, when they were doing the
- 33:00Speaker 1: makeovers and Dale and I were watching it and they're
- 33:02Speaker 1: like sewing hair into women's heads. And I said, Dale,
- 33:05Speaker 1: this is the reality. This is why these women have
- 33:07Speaker 1: the most amazing hair. It's not real.
- 33:09Speaker 3: It's a wig.
- 33:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I know. Yeah.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Well, as you touched on earlier, Amy, it wasn't just
- 33:15Speaker 2: Nadia saying, oh, I get this and that done. She
- 33:17Speaker 2: did talk about her morning routine and the wellness practices
- 33:20Speaker 2: that she does. But she did get more into the
- 33:24Speaker 2: nitty gritty when she was asked what the most vainish
- 33:26Speaker 2: thing she had ever done was. This is what she said.
- 33:29Speaker 1: My most vainish moment? I've had quite a few.
- 33:33Speaker 7: Quite a few. We've all done it.
- 33:35Speaker 1: We've all had it. I think probably it would have
- 33:39Speaker 1: to be getting my nose done.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:42Speaker 7: On a nose job. Get your nose done.
- 33:44Speaker 5: Yeah. Leaving and having pap photos come out everywhere.
- 33:47Speaker 1: So everyone knew at the hospital that was fun.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Now, I must have.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Missed this, but back in 2020, Nadia was papped fresh
- 33:55Speaker 2: from her hospital stay with a bandage over her nose.
- 33:59Speaker 2: She did have a mask on because it was 2020
- 34:01Speaker 2: and it was COVID times. And I'm thinking she obviously
- 34:04Speaker 2: planned it in the height of COVID so she could
- 34:07Speaker 2: try and conceal the fact that she'd had it done.
- 34:09Speaker 2: But unfortunately, the bandage just popped above the mask.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Well, that's actually really clever if she planned it out
- 34:15Speaker 1: that way. On the podcast, she was saying that she
- 34:18Speaker 1: has no idea how that even got out to the paparazzi.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Like she was even questioning, was it one of the
- 34:22Speaker 1: nurses that tipped them off?
- 34:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:25Speaker 2: I mean, it was interesting to hear her finally talk
- 34:28Speaker 2: about it because obviously we missed it, but a lot
- 34:31Speaker 2: of people would have seen those photos and known that
- 34:33Speaker 2: she had got a nose job. And she said that
- 34:35Speaker 2: her nose was something that has always made her feel
- 34:38Speaker 2: a bit self-conscious growing up. And she said she never
- 34:40Speaker 2: wanted to wear her hair up because she felt like
- 34:43Speaker 2: it drew focus to her nose. But she said looking
- 34:47Speaker 2: back now, she questioned whether she would do it because
- 34:50Speaker 2: she said it's something that you think is a really
- 34:52Speaker 2: big issue at the time, but it's all in your head.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Well, I never even realized that she had a nose job.
- 34:57Speaker 1: So obviously- For an outsider like me looking in, I
- 35:01Speaker 1: didn't think that she had a problem with her nose.
- 35:03Speaker 1: It's one of these things that you just pick apart
- 35:05Speaker 1: about yourself.
- 35:06Speaker 2: I mean, obviously being in the public eye for nearly
- 35:08Speaker 2: 20 years now, like Nadia has, because she started dating
- 35:12Speaker 2: Jimmy Bartell when she was 21. And a couple of
- 35:15Speaker 2: months ago, when all that horrible conversation about Chloe Pink's
- 35:18Speaker 2: wedding photos was happening, Nadia came out and spoke about
- 35:21Speaker 2: how disgusting the trolling was that she received when she
- 35:24Speaker 2: started dating Jimmy. And she said back then, She wasn't
- 35:27Speaker 2: in the industry. She was working a nine-to-five job and
- 35:30Speaker 2: she was 21 years old and she was having people
- 35:32Speaker 2: comment about her facial features and say that she looked
- 35:35Speaker 2: like a man. So obviously those comments have really hurt
- 35:39Speaker 2: her and potentially could be the reason why she did
- 35:42Speaker 2: go get this nose job done.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Yeah, well, we spoke about it briefly on our subs episode.
- 35:46Speaker 1: I have seen so many girlfriends and wives of AFL
- 35:50Speaker 1: players popping up on TikTok and all the comments are like,
- 35:53Speaker 1: you're a four and I thought players only dated tens.
- 35:56Speaker 3: It's absolutely.
- 35:57Speaker 2: disgusting yeah well unfortunately for these women that is where
- 36:02Speaker 2: these hyper masculine men who love the footy meet across
- 36:05Speaker 2: with influencers and it's often the wives and girlfriends of
- 36:08Speaker 2: the players who then get abused by these men who
- 36:11Speaker 2: normally wouldn't be viewing their content and they think that
- 36:14Speaker 2: they have the right to talk about their appearance which
- 36:16Speaker 2: is disgusting And.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Then we wonder why these women are queuing up to
- 36:20Speaker 1: have all of these medical procedures done because people are vile.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and then these men jump in the comments on
- 36:26Speaker 2: the Daily Mail when they're reporting on it.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Oh, you're a narcissist and you're so vain. It's like, well,
- 36:30Speaker 3: hang on.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Insecure because of the way that you've spoken to them
- 36:34Speaker 1: for years.
- 36:36Speaker 7: So I have a funny story.
- 36:39Speaker 2: Robert Irwin has inadvertently put a Coffs Harbour restaurant on
- 36:42Speaker 2: the map after accidentally skipping out on the bill.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Okay, this is my favourite story of the week. So
- 36:48Speaker 1: Rob was road tripping around the east coast of Australia
- 36:51Speaker 1: when he stopped at a restaurant to grab a takeaway salad.
- 36:55Speaker 1: And whilst he was in there, he was absolutely mobbed
- 36:58Speaker 1: by fans wanting photos. And in the chaos of it all,
- 37:01Speaker 1: he forgot to pay for his salad. Now, Rob took
- 37:04Speaker 1: to TikTok to explain his error. Let's have a listen
- 37:06Speaker 1: to what he said.
- 37:07Speaker 9: The next morning I wake up and realize I never
- 37:12Speaker 9: paid for my salad. I just did the old dine
- 37:15Speaker 9: and dash and I didn't even realize I'd done it.
- 37:18Speaker 7: I felt terrible.
- 37:20Speaker 1: So Rob had already left Coffs Harbour, so he immediately
- 37:23Speaker 1: rang the restaurant to see if he could transfer the money.
- 37:26Speaker 1: The owners told him not to worry and offhandedly said,
- 37:29Speaker 1: just leave us a good review.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Well, he certainly has delivered on his promise because he
- 37:35Speaker 2: skipped the Google review route and instead took to TikTok.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Here's what he said.
- 37:42Speaker 9: There are 8 million of you guys on here, so
- 37:44Speaker 9: you know what to do.
- 37:45Speaker 7: I have tagged them.
- 37:46Speaker 9: Go and support the Jetty Pavilion in Coffs Harbour. A
- 37:50Speaker 9: fantastic local business, great team, great food, amazing atmosphere.
- 37:55Speaker 7: That's my review. They are the absolute best.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Rob then vowed to return to the Jetty Pavilion to
- 38:02Speaker 2: pay for his salad.
- 38:04Speaker 7: Today is not the day I start my life of crime.
- 38:07Speaker 9: As much as the tabloids would love that, it's not happening.
- 38:11Speaker 1: So not only was Rob a man of his word
- 38:13Speaker 1: and returned to the restaurant unharmed, He also had a
- 38:15Speaker 1: sit-down lunch with the owners and paid forward $ 200 worth
- 38:19Speaker 1: of salad for others to eat. Could he get any nicer?
- 38:23Speaker 2: He's such a legend. His dad would be so proud
- 38:25Speaker 2: of him.
- 38:26Speaker 1: And it's crazy the power of Rob Irwin because his
- 38:29Speaker 1: TikTok resulted in this restaurant gaining over 11,000 extra Instagram followers.
- 38:34Speaker 1: They also got 4,000 new followers on TikTok and they
- 38:37Speaker 1: reported a 50% rise in business since the post went live.
- 38:41Speaker 1: They also said they had 1.5 million hits on their website.
- 38:45Speaker 2: God, so skipping out on the bill for a $ 20 salad,
- 38:48Speaker 2: they really made up for it, didn't they?
- 38:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and this story has been everywhere. So the Today
- 38:52Speaker 1: Show did something about it. Seven News ended up doing
- 38:54Speaker 1: a story. So what's quite funny is Seven News obviously
- 38:58Speaker 1: rung the restaurant and said, oh, can we come down
- 39:00Speaker 1: and do something? And this was the day that Rob
- 39:02Speaker 1: decided to return to pay for his salad. So they
- 39:05Speaker 1: must have been absolutely licking their lips at the fact
- 39:07Speaker 1: that they could then get Rob on camera. But a
- 39:10Speaker 1: lot of this media attention has made people really cynical
- 39:13Speaker 1: and everyone's saying, oh, is this just a big publicity stunt?
- 39:16Speaker 2: Come on. I mean, it's not like it's, it's not
- 39:19Speaker 2: like Robert Irwin's got shares in this restaurant. I think
- 39:21Speaker 2: it is just a very lucky opportunity for the restaurant.
- 39:24Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 39:24Speaker 1: So one cynic on TikTok accused Rob and the restaurant
- 39:27Speaker 1: of a setup. So they said, surely this was a
- 39:29Speaker 1: marketing ploy. Now the restaurant responded saying, oh, absolutely. It
- 39:33Speaker 1: was all part of our master plan. Step one, orchestrate chaos.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Step two, collect free publicity. Step three, take over the world.
- 39:41Speaker 1: And yes, the earth is flat. The dinosaurs had feathers
- 39:44Speaker 1: and Elvis is living in Byron with Bigfoot. Another person
- 39:47Speaker 1: said cameras had to be there. To which the restaurant responded, yeah,
- 39:51Speaker 1: what a champ. We told him we had seven years
- 39:53Speaker 1: coming as a heads up and he went along with it,
- 39:55Speaker 1: no fuss.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I somehow don't think Robert Irwin would be racing
- 39:59Speaker 2: down there if he knew that the news station was there.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Also, to get somebody like Robert Irwin to be involved
- 40:05Speaker 1: in this kind of promotion would cost a huge amount
- 40:08Speaker 1: of money. I'd estimate around $ 150, 000. That restaurant is not
- 40:12Speaker 1: paying somebody like Rob Irwin to do that.
- 40:15Speaker 3: No, definitely not.
- 40:16Speaker 2: I mean, all I can think about though is, what
- 40:19Speaker 2: salad did Robert eat?
- 40:20Speaker 3: Like, was it a really nice one?
- 40:22Speaker 1: Yeah, it looked amazing. They put a photo of it up.
- 40:24Speaker 1: It's called the Harvest Bowl. So it's very healthy. I mean,
- 40:27Speaker 1: obviously he's got that body to maintain that was in
- 40:29Speaker 1: the Bonds commercial. So his salad had turmeric, cauliflower, quinoa, avocado,
- 40:34Speaker 1: pickled veg, cherry tomatoes, sweet potatoes, tahini sauce, and alfalfa sprouts.
- 40:40Speaker 1: And there are calls for this salad to be named
- 40:42Speaker 1: after Rob. Someone suggested it should be called the Dine
- 40:45Speaker 1: and Dash Salad.
- 40:46Speaker 2: I read that the restaurant are actually considering naming it
- 40:49Speaker 2: after Rob Irwin, which would make a lot of sense
- 40:51Speaker 2: because if they're getting all of this extra business, everyone
- 40:53Speaker 2: wants to know which salad he got.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Well, they were also talking about making a Rob Irwin cocktail,
- 40:59Speaker 1: which was going to involve like a little crocodile and
- 41:01Speaker 1: some green jelly and all that sort of stuff.
- 41:02Speaker 3: Oh, I've got a name for it. The Croctail.
- 41:04Speaker 1: That's good, actually.
- 41:08Speaker 7: Righto, guys. I've done it.
- 41:09Speaker 10: I've joined Tinder.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Breaking news for Gen Zers. Bailey Smith is on dating
- 41:15Speaker 2: app Tinder. The Geelong staff fronted the campaign for the
- 41:18Speaker 2: app's new double date feature and a big move to
- 41:20Speaker 2: bring Gen Zers back to the app.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Anyone who's got TikTok would have seen this ad popping up.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Every time I logged into it, I saw Bailey Smith's
- 41:28Speaker 1: face telling me how he's joined Tinder. They must have
- 41:31Speaker 1: put so much money behind this campaign.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I was thinking he must have been paid a
- 41:35Speaker 2: pretty penny for this ad because he would be absolutely
- 41:38Speaker 2: copping it in the change rooms at Geelong.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I had a look on his Instagram account
- 41:42Speaker 1: and runner Ned Brockman sarcastically wrote under his announcement post, hey, mate,
- 41:46Speaker 1: thought you'd be struggling to get dates. Good to see
- 41:49Speaker 1: you trying Tinder out. And his comment received 3.7 thousand likes.
- 41:54Speaker 2: That's absolutely classic. I mean, that's what everyone is thinking.
- 41:56Speaker 2: There is no way that Bailey Smith is using Tinder
- 42:00Speaker 2: to get dates. But he's a great get because it's
- 42:04Speaker 2: putting hope out there that maybe hot guys will be
- 42:06Speaker 2: on Tinder again. Well, there have been other people popping
- 42:10Speaker 2: up on TikTok questioning the legitimacy of, as you said,
- 42:12Speaker 2: whether he is actually on Tinder.
- 42:15Speaker 1: And I had a laugh at this video. I need
- 42:18Speaker 1: to be financially compensated for having to open up TikTok
- 42:21Speaker 1: every single time Bailey Smith advertising Tinder. Firstly, he's not
- 42:25Speaker 1: on Tinder. He's on fucking Raya because he's one of
- 42:27Speaker 1: those people with those connections.
- 42:28Speaker 3: I mean, she's got a point.
- 42:30Speaker 2: If he's on a dating app, he'd be on Raya.
- 42:32Speaker 2: I was pretty shocked because I know that some of
- 42:35Speaker 2: these dating apps have introduced new features like super likes
- 42:38Speaker 2: that you have to pay for. But I didn't realize
- 42:41Speaker 2: how expensive it was now to be on dating apps.
- 42:45Speaker 2: It sounds like it costs you an arm and a leg.
- 42:48Speaker 2: And they actually now have an algorithm which stops you
- 42:51Speaker 2: from matching with anyone decent if you don't pay.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Yeah, because I think it's on Tinder. You only get
- 42:57Speaker 1: 100 swipes every 12 hours.
- 43:00Speaker 10: So that's a lot.
- 43:02Speaker 1: Yeah, but like think how many, like sometimes I've been
- 43:05Speaker 1: on Tinder, obviously before I was married, and you would
- 43:08Speaker 1: go through 100 people easily and not see anybody that
- 43:11Speaker 1: you liked.
- 43:12Speaker 3: Yeah, true.
- 43:13Speaker 1: But what's funny is I remember what, like 10 years ago,
- 43:16Speaker 1: if you were on Tinder and you were paying for it,
- 43:18Speaker 1: you were a bit.
- 43:18Speaker 3: Of a loser.
- 43:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Well, sorry, you weren't a loser, but I think there
- 43:22Speaker 1: was that stigma that, oh, why would you pay to
- 43:24Speaker 1: go on Tinder? But now that is like Tinder is
- 43:27Speaker 1: making billions of dollars each year from people signing up.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Well, you say that, but a lot of the dating
- 43:33Speaker 2: apps have actually been having to lay off a lot
- 43:36Speaker 2: of staff. Like recently Bumble spoke about how they've lost
- 43:39Speaker 2: so much money because people are just not using the
- 43:42Speaker 2: apps anymore.
- 43:43Speaker 1: And do you know why that is? There's been a
- 43:44Speaker 1: study and apparently Gen Zers and millennials don't want to
- 43:48Speaker 1: meet people online. They actually want to meet people in
- 43:50Speaker 1: real life. And a lot of people are saying that
- 43:52Speaker 1: running clubs have destroyed online dating apps because people are
- 43:56Speaker 1: choosing to go there to meet their partners instead.
- 43:58Speaker 2: I think it's also a case of people's parents being
- 44:01Speaker 2: on the apps and it being seen as this sort
- 44:03Speaker 2: of millennial thing now. A lot of elder millennials probably
- 44:06Speaker 2: have teenage kids now and you don't want to be
- 44:09Speaker 2: on the apps. I know you can pick the age group,
- 44:11Speaker 2: but you don't really want to be on the same
- 44:13Speaker 2: apps as your parents. I think that the app market
- 44:16Speaker 2: is now perfect for 40-year-olds. Probably got divorced, looking for
- 44:21Speaker 2: something serious. And also, I think with young people, it
- 44:24Speaker 2: just became like a booty call place.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Yeah, Tinder was seen very much as a hookup app.
- 44:29Speaker 1: And when you look at the stats, it reveals that
- 44:31Speaker 1: three quarters of Tinder users are actually men. So you
- 44:34Speaker 1: can see why they are rolling out this campaign with
- 44:36Speaker 1: Bailey Smith. I mean, it's clearly aimed at getting Gen
- 44:39Speaker 1: Z women back onto the app.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I've heard these apps are completely flooded by men.
- 44:43Speaker 2: So men in particular have to spend a lot of
- 44:46Speaker 2: money in order to actually get served up women. who
- 44:50Speaker 2: are on the app that they want to date. And
- 44:51Speaker 2: there are so many men who actually just don't get
- 44:54Speaker 2: any matches because there's just such a big pool of them. Well,
- 44:57Speaker 2: that's why I think this campaign is so clever because
- 44:59Speaker 2: it's obviously getting the word out to females that Tinder
- 45:03Speaker 2: is the place to be if people like Bailey.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Smith are apparently on there. I mean, the campaign videos
- 45:08Speaker 1: that TikTok have done have gone off. Bailey also featured
- 45:11Speaker 1: on the We Mean Well podcast, which is hosted by
- 45:14Speaker 1: Jack and Lou. They also had Georgia Productions, which is
- 45:17Speaker 1: a big Gen Z TikToker. So Tinder have clearly done
- 45:20Speaker 1: their research and thought, who are the influencers that are
- 45:23Speaker 1: speaking to Gen Zers? And if you think about it,
- 45:26Speaker 1: how many young girls would be signing up to the
- 45:28Speaker 1: subscription so they could actually swipe right on Bailey Smith?
- 45:32Speaker 2: I wonder if it's a part of his contract that
- 45:34Speaker 2: he actually has to go on a Tinder double date.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Well, he was interviewed on the Today Show and he
- 45:38Speaker 1: admitted that he hasn't actually been on any dates yet.
- 45:41Speaker 1: But he said that his mate Angus, who he signed
- 45:44Speaker 1: up with, has been swiping a lot on people. And
- 45:46Speaker 1: he said that he actually is a bit annoyed because
- 45:49Speaker 1: he thinks that Angus should gain his permission on who
- 45:51Speaker 1: he can actually agree to go on these dates with.
- 45:54Speaker 3: Oh, because he has to join him.
- 45:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so he obviously doesn't agree with the women that
- 45:57Speaker 1: he's swapping with. Wouldn't you be devastated? You're like telling
- 45:59Speaker 1: all your friends, oh my God, like Bailey Smith has
- 46:02Speaker 1: agreed to go on this date with me. And then
- 46:04Speaker 1: he's like shit canning it on the Today Show.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's probably not really good for Tinder either to
- 46:09Speaker 2: be like, oh, the quality is not that great.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Well, it was quite funny because in all of the interviews,
- 46:13Speaker 1: you could tell that he was begrudgingly talking about it.
- 46:15Speaker 1: He's like, Yeah, Tinder has launched this feature where it
- 46:19Speaker 1: was very scripted. But still, I think it's been a
- 46:22Speaker 1: massive win for Tinder.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Well, that's where we're going to leave things today. If
- 46:25Speaker 2: you do enjoy the show, we would really appreciate it
- 46:27Speaker 2: if you could leave us a review. And if you
- 46:30Speaker 2: do want to hear more from us, we drop an
- 46:31Speaker 2: exclusive subs episode every Thursday. This podcast was recorded on
- 46:36Speaker 2: the traditional land of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains.
