- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome to jag Zam. Kind of honestly with here, Brian Sexton,
- 0:18Speaker 1: John Osier with me today as we get ready for
- 0:21Speaker 1: Jaguars take on the Jets this weekend in week fourteen.
- 0:24Speaker 1: So we're gonna get into our big things straight away
- 0:26Speaker 1: this morning brought to you by g EH A Government
- 0:28Speaker 1: Employees Health Association benefits for federal employees and retirees. Big
- 0:32Speaker 1: thing Number one is limited because I think a little
- 0:34Speaker 1: bit of a surprise yesterday as Trevor Lawrence popped up
- 0:37Speaker 1: on the injury report as he is limited in practiced
- 0:40Speaker 1: yesterday dealing with an ankle injury. Couldn't really tell when
- 0:43Speaker 1: we were out there at practice that there was any
- 0:45Speaker 1: issue going on. Brian, Is this anything to be worried
- 0:47Speaker 1: about or just kind of that time of year.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's kind of that time of year.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I didn't see anything, and obviously he was walking out
- 0:52Speaker 2: of the locker.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Room and up the hallway.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I didn't see anything that would indicate that. And I
- 0:56Speaker 2: had mentioned John to somebody that one of the differences
- 0:59Speaker 2: for this team this year, the quarterback's finally healthy in December.
- 1:02Speaker 2: He obviously wasn't last year or the year before. And
- 1:05Speaker 2: if this team is going to make a run, they
- 1:07Speaker 2: need their quarterback to be on the field and healthy
- 1:10Speaker 2: on the practice field during the week as well. So
- 1:13Speaker 2: I was surprised by this when I saw it on
- 1:15Speaker 2: the injury report too.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Yeah, my sense and understanding is it's not a big deal,
- 1:22Speaker 4: you know, but as Brian said, he's been hurt last
- 1:25Speaker 4: few years. Something to watch, but I don't think it
- 1:28Speaker 4: affects Sunday.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I think it's a good thing to keep an eye on,
- 1:31Speaker 1: just because we have seen when he doesn't practice, but
- 1:33Speaker 1: he was out there at practice this week, so that's
- 1:35Speaker 1: a good sign for sure. Let's go to our second
- 1:37Speaker 1: big thing today, which is all on board because other
- 1:40Speaker 1: than Trevor Lawrence, this team is getting healthy right now.
- 1:42Speaker 1: We're finally seeing some people return. Obviously we saw Treyvon
- 1:45Speaker 1: Walker return last week play quite well, and hopefully some
- 1:48Speaker 1: more people coming back this week. John feel like they're
- 1:52Speaker 1: kind of getting everybody back at the right time while
- 1:54Speaker 1: they're also playing well with the guys that stepped up
- 1:56Speaker 1: behind them.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Well.
- 1:57Speaker 4: I think it's the first time since September that they
- 1:59Speaker 4: haven't had a DNA did not practice on a Wednesday,
- 2:03Speaker 4: so obviously it's crucial. And at the end of the
- 2:06Speaker 4: game on Sunday, I looked at the story I was
- 2:09Speaker 4: right and realized, Hey, no injuries for the first time,
- 2:11Speaker 4: So that means, okay, maybe Parker Washington gets back. Maybe
- 2:14Speaker 4: these guys get back healthy. I think one of the
- 2:18Speaker 4: major stories of the season has been their ability to shift,
- 2:22Speaker 4: you know, to stay over the shifting sands if you will,
- 2:25Speaker 4: and keep playing well despite all the injuries. But yeah,
- 2:28Speaker 4: if they get Parker Washington back, They've got Murray back,
- 2:31Speaker 4: they got Trayvon back. Now you're starting to hit all cylinders.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Brian, you know, the.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Reason for optimism late in the season is is that
- 2:38Speaker 2: you're starting to get your pieces back. And at one
- 2:40Speaker 2: point John I looked and I saw Brian Thomas Junior
- 2:43Speaker 2: and Parker Washington and Jacoby Myers who they added, so
- 2:47Speaker 2: which the first time perhaps that you're gonna have all
- 2:49Speaker 2: of those guys on the field together. Breton Strange is back.
- 2:53Speaker 2: I noticed that Delmi Brown, who they paid ten million
- 2:56Speaker 2: dollars to that we've almost forgotten about, was healthy in
- 2:59Speaker 2: practice as well. So that's forget that he hasn't made
- 3:02Speaker 2: a lot of plays this year, but that's depth in
- 3:04Speaker 2: case you have more injuries. Right, that group also got
- 3:08Speaker 2: Hunter long back and he missed a couple of games,
- 3:11Speaker 2: and Johnny Munt had played well and Quenton Morris had
- 3:13Speaker 2: played well. So not only are you getting guys back,
- 3:15Speaker 2: but guy's kai who had to fill in at times
- 3:18Speaker 2: and take on a new role. Quentin Morris in particular
- 3:20Speaker 2: has proven that he's worth a role and being active
- 3:23Speaker 2: on game day. Same thing in the secondary, where you've
- 3:25Speaker 2: got Jordan Lewis and Eric Murray and while they were gone,
- 3:28Speaker 2: Antonio Johnson's level of play improved so that when you
- 3:32Speaker 2: lose Dewey for a game with a concussion, you don't
- 3:35Speaker 2: fall off at all. But now you get Dewey back,
- 3:37Speaker 2: so you can look all across the roster. The offensive
- 3:40Speaker 2: lines another example of this where because as john mentioned,
- 3:43Speaker 2: you had to find a way through the woods without
- 3:45Speaker 2: some of these guys, now you've got almost full strength
- 3:49Speaker 2: in December, and there aren't a lot of teams that
- 3:51Speaker 2: can say that.
- 3:52Speaker 1: So into our final big thing today, which is earned
- 3:54Speaker 1: their way, it's touching a little bit upon that when
- 3:56Speaker 1: we talk about those players stepping up, and now specifically
- 3:59Speaker 1: about cole A Landon, who's been playing well, played four
- 4:01Speaker 1: different spots on the offensive line so far of this season.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Head coach Ian Cohen, so he feels that Van Lennon's
- 4:07Speaker 1: earned a spot, a starting spot on this team.
- 4:10Speaker 5: I think so.
- 4:11Speaker 6: I mean, I think there's definitely he's played enough really
- 4:14Speaker 6: good football for us. You know, we've we've got a
- 4:17Speaker 6: great situation right now where you've got depth at multiple
- 4:21Speaker 6: positions of people that have had had to play for
- 4:24Speaker 6: us a lot. This shows up in multiple positions all
- 4:28Speaker 6: throughout the team, right You can point to the defensive
- 4:32Speaker 6: side of that for things, receiver position. I mean a
- 4:34Speaker 6: lot of different positions that guys have been fortunate enough
- 4:38Speaker 6: to you know, step up, play well, lead, help lead us,
- 4:42Speaker 6: you know, to get to where we are right now.
- 4:44Speaker 6: And the message in the locker room is, hey, guys,
- 4:47Speaker 6: there's a lot of guys that are coming back right now,
- 4:49Speaker 6: and for us to continue to go where we want
- 4:51Speaker 6: to go, we've got to use that as an edge.
- 4:54Speaker 6: And that depth and experience that we've gotten has to
- 4:57Speaker 6: be collective and having a team first mindset of everything
- 5:00Speaker 6: we do.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Right I think Cole Van Landon's probably the perfect example
- 5:04Speaker 1: of it. But we've also seen it on the defensive
- 5:06Speaker 1: line with Danny Strigo and bj Green. If you're playing
- 5:09Speaker 1: well in practice and you're gonna give this team an advantage,
- 5:11Speaker 1: they will play you. They don't feel any allegiance to
- 5:14Speaker 1: just because you were the starter to start the season,
- 5:16Speaker 1: and that has to motivate the rest of the team
- 5:18Speaker 1: to know if you show out in practice, if you
- 5:19Speaker 1: play well, you're gonna get your opportunity to play.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Listen, Ky, they want the best football player. I think
- 5:24Speaker 2: when you look at a guy like Walker Little, you
- 5:26Speaker 2: see he's taller, he's bigger, he's got more length. But
- 5:31Speaker 2: is he the same football player than Cole Lanta, than
- 5:33Speaker 2: Cole van Landon?
- 5:34Speaker 4: Is?
- 5:34Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 5:35Speaker 2: I think he's a better football player, which means toughness,
- 5:38Speaker 2: which means versatility, which means willingness to go from the
- 5:41Speaker 2: outside to the inside and then to the other side.
- 5:44Speaker 3: If that's what they need.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Just a thought again on the depth that you talked about, right,
- 5:47Speaker 2: So Van Landen was that guy that could play guard, tackle,
- 5:50Speaker 2: left or right. Now he's going to be your starting
- 5:53Speaker 2: left tackle. So Walker Little is your swing tackle. But
- 5:57Speaker 2: you've got Chuma Edoga who's now back and healthy. In practice, saying,
- 6:00Speaker 2: who can play a couple of different positions and play
- 6:03Speaker 2: that big tight end role when they need that.
- 6:05Speaker 3: On the field as well.
- 6:07Speaker 2: And you've got a guy in Wyatt Milem who their
- 6:08Speaker 2: confident can play inside or outside, left or right. You've
- 6:12Speaker 2: got a lot of versatility and a lot of guys.
- 6:14Speaker 2: And when you've got guys who were playing who you
- 6:16Speaker 2: didn't expect to play, it creates versatility, it creates depth,
- 6:19Speaker 2: and it creates the ability john for coaching staff to
- 6:22Speaker 2: do a lot of different things.
- 6:24Speaker 4: What a remarkable job this team, franchise, personnel, etc. Has done.
- 6:32Speaker 4: We were not sitting here in March in April talking
- 6:34Speaker 4: about how deep this team was and how many players
- 6:36Speaker 4: they had to step up even after free agency. To me,
- 6:40Speaker 4: it remains the story of the season, the fact that
- 6:44Speaker 4: this team looks so different in week what thirteen or
- 6:47Speaker 4: fourteen than it did in September, at so many different positions,
- 6:51Speaker 4: and you feel like they're better.
- 6:53Speaker 3: You feel like they.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Keep every day trying to figure out what's the best
- 6:57Speaker 4: way to make us better, what's the best way to
- 6:59Speaker 4: make us deeper. It's again, it's the story of the season,
- 7:03Speaker 4: and it not only sets this team up for now,
- 7:05Speaker 4: but all of a sudden, you look, there's depth, they
- 7:08Speaker 4: know what they want, they have an identity. I don't
- 7:12Speaker 4: know what the rest of the season brings, but that
- 7:14Speaker 4: part of it is really shaping this franchise, making look
- 7:17Speaker 4: so much different than it has in the past.
- 7:19Speaker 1: It's very cool to see him kind of watch it
- 7:20Speaker 1: go down this way with the new leadership. So awesome
- 7:23Speaker 1: to see stays here on jagson We're gonna talk Jets after.

- 7:46Speaker 1: Quentin more So of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Jackson Deville the
- 7:49Speaker 1: Roar are gonna be there as well. To make sure
- 7:51Speaker 1: you check that out. It's that publis or shopping is
- 7:54Speaker 1: a pleasure. Welcome back into Jagza. I'm the Jaguars are
- 7:59Speaker 1: taking on the Jets this weekend and we're talking a
- 8:01Speaker 1: little bit about what that might look like. Obviously, the
- 8:04Speaker 1: Jets have been struggling this season. They've got a new
- 8:06Speaker 1: head coach and a lot of changes have been going on.
- 8:08Speaker 1: But I think what's big this week is that maybe
- 8:11Speaker 1: we don't know who the quarterback is going to be.
- 8:13Speaker 1: And Liam Cohen talked a little bit the other day
- 8:16Speaker 1: about what that means for them preparing for a team
- 8:18Speaker 1: when you don't know who's going to be the starting quarterback.
- 8:21Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean there's definitely things you take a look
- 8:23Speaker 6: at from from the past and with all three of
- 8:26Speaker 6: those quarterbacks that you have to be kind of prepared for.
- 8:29Speaker 6: So all three of them a little bit different in
- 8:31Speaker 6: their own way, but also from what they're trying to
- 8:37Speaker 6: do offensively coming from Detroit, you know, they want to
- 8:40Speaker 6: be able to run the football, be physical. So I
- 8:43Speaker 6: think that that's where it really starts for those guys,
- 8:45Speaker 6: and whoever's playing quarterback, you know, we just got to
- 8:48Speaker 6: make sure that we're prepared for.
- 8:51Speaker 1: So I think what they would like to do. Obviously
- 8:52Speaker 1: Tyrol Taylor's playing, he's going to be out. He got
- 8:54Speaker 1: injured in their last game. I think what they would
- 8:57Speaker 1: hope is justin fields might be available I mean, that's
- 8:59Speaker 1: going to give them their beat opportunity, but we'll kind
- 9:01Speaker 1: of see as the week goes long.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Well in what sense, I mean, Listen, he can run
- 9:04Speaker 2: and he can keep their offense moving down the field
- 9:07Speaker 2: with his legs.
- 9:08Speaker 3: He is so dangerous that way.
- 9:10Speaker 2: But if you've watched him at all this year, it
- 9:12Speaker 2: doesn't appear like the passing game is something that he's
- 9:14Speaker 2: become proficient at. And I think the Jets took a
- 9:16Speaker 2: chance on him because they thought they could get him
- 9:19Speaker 2: to that next level and they haven't. And then you've
- 9:21Speaker 2: got Tyrod Taylor, who's a veteran guy, maybe more limited
- 9:24Speaker 2: physically than he has been at other points in his
- 9:26Speaker 2: career where we've seen him. And then you get Brady Cook,
- 9:28Speaker 2: who's an undrafted rookie who you don't know what you got.
- 9:31Speaker 2: So maybe there's more uncertainty with this quarterback week than
- 9:35Speaker 2: we've seen in a long time with any opponent.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Well, I think this is the case where at some point,
- 9:39Speaker 4: when you're a good team, so I think Jaguars are
- 9:43Speaker 4: the whole it's about us thing becomes very real in
- 9:46Speaker 4: a sense of if this team plays their game, they're
- 9:50Speaker 4: going to beat the Jets. I think you want to
- 9:52Speaker 4: get pressure on any quarterback. You want to make this
- 9:54Speaker 4: guy run, whoever it is. And I think that's really
- 9:59Speaker 4: the approach you take. Somebody asked me this week, and
- 10:02Speaker 4: he is, how do you prepare for three quarterbacks diligently
- 10:06Speaker 4: and just.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Prepare for them all?
- 10:07Speaker 4: Well, it's that's at some point you just go play.
- 10:11Speaker 3: And it's that old saying that if you have three quarterbacks,
- 10:13Speaker 3: you don't have one.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Sure, and that's exactly their problem. I think one thing
- 10:18Speaker 1: that we know they will focus on is the run
- 10:20Speaker 1: game because Breese Hall has been their entire offense pretty
- 10:23Speaker 1: much this season, and Liam Cohne talked about what the
- 10:25Speaker 1: challenges are facing off against running back like that.
- 10:28Speaker 6: He's a weapon to score at any time. He's been
- 10:31Speaker 6: doing that since Iowa State. You know, the creative, the
- 10:35Speaker 6: creativity when he does get the ball in his hands,
- 10:38Speaker 6: and he's bigger, strong, athletic. I mean, he's got a
- 10:41Speaker 6: lot of tools. And I just remember always thinking he's
- 10:44Speaker 6: just a darn good, damn good football player. He's just
- 10:48Speaker 6: somebody who want to try to get the ball to
- 10:49Speaker 6: in so many different ways. So very a lot of
- 10:52Speaker 6: respect for him.
- 10:54Speaker 1: So the Jets are going to try to run it
- 10:55Speaker 1: obviously as much as they can. But the good thing
- 10:57Speaker 1: about the Jaguars is they're the number one run stop
- 10:59Speaker 1: in defense, and they proved it last week against Jonathan Taylor.
- 11:01Speaker 1: How do they continue that this week? John isn't just
- 11:03Speaker 1: staying diligence to Hay.
- 11:05Speaker 4: In the same way Devon Hamilton getting disruption. Look, the
- 11:08Speaker 4: Jets are dangerous for a couple of reasons outside of
- 11:12Speaker 4: these specifics. They're playing for a first year head coach,
- 11:16Speaker 4: which means they're still playing hard, which means they're going
- 11:19Speaker 4: to lean into these things that.
- 11:21Speaker 3: They do well.
- 11:22Speaker 4: They do run well, they'll try to do it. My
- 11:27Speaker 4: sense is that this team with Devon Hamilton, the way
- 11:30Speaker 4: they play run defense, it doesn't matter so much who
- 11:33Speaker 4: they're playing. They're gonna be good in this area.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Listen, if the Jaguars face Brady Cook and Breese Hall,
- 11:39Speaker 2: you know what they're gonna do. They're gonna stop Breese
- 11:41Speaker 2: Hall at all costs and let the rookie quarterback throw
- 11:43Speaker 2: it and try to beat them. The issue with Breese
- 11:46Speaker 2: Hall is when you've got Justin Fields on the field, Wow,
- 11:50Speaker 2: I mean, he is a guy that threatens your run
- 11:53Speaker 2: defense and the ability to hand.
- 11:55Speaker 3: It off to Breese Hall.
- 11:57Speaker 2: The thing I like about Hall is he's patient John
- 11:59Speaker 2: and Sonny, meaning he'll wait for the hole to open
- 12:02Speaker 2: and when it does, he is off.
- 12:03Speaker 3: To the races. I think he's a terrific football player.
- 12:06Speaker 2: He's just not playing on a very good team and
- 12:08Speaker 2: as a result, we haven't seen his best, although he's
- 12:10Speaker 2: over four yards of carry this year.
- 12:12Speaker 1: So I'm going to keep an eye on for sure,
- 12:13Speaker 1: because if there is a game rerecord for them, that's
- 12:15Speaker 1: the guy that it's going to be. Talking a little
- 12:18Speaker 1: bit about their defense, they're in kind of troublesome territory
- 12:21Speaker 1: in terms of we didn't have a ton of takeaways
- 12:23Speaker 1: as a franchise last year. The Jets only have two
- 12:25Speaker 1: at this point in this season. And when you don't
- 12:28Speaker 1: have takeaways, Liam cohane talked a little bit about what
- 12:30Speaker 1: the defense kind of focuses on and what that looks like.
- 12:33Speaker 6: They're playing sticky match coverage and you can definitely see
- 12:38Speaker 6: their ability to attack the football when it is in
- 12:41Speaker 6: the air. I just haven't gotten one down yet. And
- 12:44Speaker 6: you know, Aaron Glenn and Steve Wilkes like do a
- 12:47Speaker 6: really good job in terms of the back end, and
- 12:50Speaker 6: they want to be aggressive and play sticky match coverage
- 12:53Speaker 6: at times.
- 12:53Speaker 3: So there's a good blend of it.
- 12:55Speaker 6: It's just a matter of kind of getting their hands
- 12:57Speaker 6: on one and taking it down.
- 13:00Speaker 5: John.
- 13:00Speaker 1: They're being aggressive with the football obviously Arin Glenn wants
- 13:03Speaker 1: to play that way, but you know, are they pressing
- 13:05Speaker 1: too much? I mean at a certain point when you're
- 13:07Speaker 1: trying to force takeaways. It's a style we've seen obviously
- 13:10Speaker 1: with coach Camp coming in the way that they're playing,
- 13:13Speaker 1: you know, face forward to the football and using that
- 13:15Speaker 1: to their advantage. But I think the only way that
- 13:17Speaker 1: Juts are really gonna have a chance in this is
- 13:19Speaker 1: if they do find a way to win the turnover battle.
- 13:21Speaker 1: But I don't know if it'll be with interceptions.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Look, let's call us what it is they gave. They
- 13:26Speaker 4: traded their two best defensive players early in the season.
- 13:29Speaker 4: This is a team in rebuild on this front. We
- 13:33Speaker 4: have seen this, we haven't seen this to this degree.
- 13:36Speaker 4: They have zero interceptions. That's really hard to do. One
- 13:40Speaker 4: reason they do it is because they do play man,
- 13:42Speaker 4: so you're not looking at the ball as much. This
- 13:44Speaker 4: team plays a lot of zone the Jags. This team
- 13:46Speaker 4: played man last year and had the result of not
- 13:49Speaker 4: getting a lot of takeaways. It wouldn't surprise me if
- 13:52Speaker 4: they get one this weekend. At some point, Brian, you
- 13:55Speaker 4: know they're not gonna go the whole season without getting one,
- 13:58Speaker 4: because guess what, that's one of the those records that
- 14:00Speaker 4: is unbreakable.
- 14:01Speaker 3: And say every record deserves.
- 14:02Speaker 4: To be broken.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Yeah, zero, that won't be broken.
- 14:06Speaker 5: Todd.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Maybe you're talking about circumstances for interceptions all the time.
- 14:09Speaker 2: The problem is that the Jets run defense without Quinn
- 14:11Speaker 2: Williams is porous and teams don't have to put the
- 14:15Speaker 2: ball in the air as much, which takes away opportunities
- 14:18Speaker 2: to rush the quarterback and force aarrant throws and create interceptions.
- 14:22Speaker 2: If the Jaguars can run the ball, and they have
- 14:25Speaker 2: proven to be a very good running team this year,
- 14:27Speaker 2: then Trevor Lawrence should have plenty of time to stand
- 14:29Speaker 2: back there. And we've seen what the addition of Brian
- 14:31Speaker 2: Thomas Junior to this offense meant to them last week
- 14:34Speaker 2: to get him back, and what Brenton Strange return has done.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I don't think they get an interception this week because
- 14:38Speaker 2: I don't think the Jaguars have to take a lot
- 14:39Speaker 2: of chances. They'll be able to run the ball and
- 14:42Speaker 2: keep the Jets from putting the Jaguars in a situation
- 14:44Speaker 2: where they have to take chances.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Look, we've seen this movie before around here for the
- 14:49Speaker 4: Jaguars playing a team like the Jets, you want to
- 14:52Speaker 4: make sure that you don't give them anything early. You
- 14:55Speaker 4: don't want to give them any reason to hope. And
- 14:58Speaker 4: you want them to be in the locker room at
- 14:59Speaker 4: halftimes saying, oh, this is gonna be too hard to win.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Like if you're if you're a struggling team and you
- 15:04Speaker 4: have a lead, now you're fired up a half, Hey,
- 15:06Speaker 4: we can win. They need to get ahead, not give
- 15:10Speaker 4: them things early, and then be able to ease your
- 15:14Speaker 4: way down the second half.
- 15:15Speaker 3: And it's a team that doesn't believe it can win.
- 15:16Speaker 3: You want them thinking about Christmas by halftime.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yes, just be smart with the football. Think ahead, guys.
- 15:22Speaker 1: All right, stay with Hierro Jagsam. We're gonna give you
- 15:24Speaker 1: our headlines for what we think it's gonna be on
- 15:27Speaker 1: Monday morning, coming up.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Back to the break.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Welcome back Stutth Moving and Storage Floord's most trusted and
- 15:37Speaker 1: dependable moving company, so that is probably be the official
- 15:39Speaker 1: moving company of the Jacksonville Jaguars. To get a guaranteed quote,
- 15:43Speaker 1: visit sutteth dot com slash Jacksonville Welcome back. We're gonna
- 15:52Speaker 1: do our best to predict the future today as we
- 15:54Speaker 1: try to predict what the headlines are gonna be on
- 15:56Speaker 1: Monday morning after this Jets Jags game on Sunday, Brian,
- 16:00Speaker 1: what do you think we'll be talking about on Monday?
- 16:01Speaker 2: Higher altitude ahead, in other words, saying that the Jaguars,
- 16:06Speaker 2: well as they're climbing right and beating the Jets on
- 16:09Speaker 2: Sunday gives them a little more altitude. But now you're
- 16:11Speaker 2: headed to Denver, the highest altitude in the National Football
- 16:15Speaker 2: League literally and figuratively. I mean, this is as good
- 16:17Speaker 2: a football team as there is in the AFC, and
- 16:20Speaker 2: you're going to have to go out there and we
- 16:23Speaker 2: know that that is a well coached football team playing
- 16:26Speaker 2: very very well, and we've all been there and it
- 16:29Speaker 2: is a raucous atmosphere. It's going to be a huge scene,
- 16:33Speaker 2: might even be snowing right before Christmas.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Good luck, right, I mean, that's.
- 16:39Speaker 2: This, This is the kind of game we wanted this
- 16:40Speaker 2: to be, and early in the season we weren't sure
- 16:42Speaker 2: what it would be. But now we know it's going
- 16:44Speaker 2: to be a huge game. So I'm predicting a big
- 16:46Speaker 2: Jaguars win and to build up to a very high
- 16:49Speaker 2: altitude game in Denver the following Sunday.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Yeah, looking ahead, it sounds like you're already locking the
- 16:54Speaker 4: game on Sunday.
- 16:55Speaker 2: So we asked to predict, So I predict, call it
- 17:01Speaker 2: whatever you'd like.
- 17:02Speaker 4: I went with just winning, baby, And it's very similar
- 17:07Speaker 4: to your theme. This team, the Jaguars, has gone from
- 17:12Speaker 4: a team that we weren't sure about all of a
- 17:15Speaker 4: sudden we figured out they were good. And then when
- 17:18Speaker 4: you're a good team, there's different things you have to
- 17:21Speaker 4: get through. They got through a big game last week.
- 17:24Speaker 3: That was very obviously big.
- 17:26Speaker 4: This week they have to get through it an equally
- 17:29Speaker 4: big game because you have to keep winning to stay
- 17:33Speaker 4: ahead of these teams. But at some point, if you're good,
- 17:38Speaker 4: and I believe they are, you get to twelve and
- 17:41Speaker 4: five or thirteen and four with four or five wins
- 17:44Speaker 4: that a year later you look back on and you
- 17:47Speaker 4: don't really remember the game that well, but you know
- 17:50Speaker 4: they played well.
- 17:50Speaker 3: In one.
- 17:51Speaker 4: This needs to be one of those kind of games.
- 17:53Speaker 4: And I'm not I'm not saying the Jets can't win this,
- 17:57Speaker 4: but you do need some late in the season and
- 18:00Speaker 4: where hey, you're up by ten and the third quarter,
- 18:04Speaker 4: you're not overly straining, you're pulling.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Some guys out and Nick Mullen's player.
- 18:07Speaker 4: This needs to be one of those uh if, if
- 18:12Speaker 4: you're the kind of team that you think you are.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Listen, I've had some conversations with guys away from the building,
- 18:16Speaker 2: you know, off the record, in the locker room there.
- 18:18Speaker 2: I don't see any way they overlook this. The coaching
- 18:21Speaker 2: staff is dialed in. We've heard that yesterday from Liam Cohen.
- 18:24Speaker 2: They believe that they have what it takes. They also
- 18:27Speaker 2: know that they have to deliver that on Sunday to win.
- 18:31Speaker 2: And yeah, I'll lock it. I don't see any reason
- 18:33Speaker 2: to think that this football team isn't ready to play, and.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I don't think that Liam is gonna happen. Well, you
- 18:39Speaker 3: guys said it. I just predicted it. We love a lock,
- 18:44Speaker 3: is now what we're doing in the segment.
- 18:46Speaker 5: Yes, we can lock.
- 18:47Speaker 1: If you feel the yurge to lock, we will lock.
- 18:49Speaker 3: And now it's a locked.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Don't you know you're a locker.
- 18:53Speaker 3: I guess there's worse things. You could call me the
- 18:55Speaker 3: lock life.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I went with ground stop for my headline because I
- 19:00Speaker 1: do not think they're gonna overlook the game either, but
- 19:02Speaker 1: I think it's gonna come down to stopping the run,
- 19:05Speaker 1: as it always does in the trenches. Trayvon Walker had
- 19:08Speaker 1: a huge fourth and one stop for them last week
- 19:11Speaker 1: against the Colts, and I think he's finally getting back
- 19:14Speaker 1: to what we've normally seen from him. Feels like he's
- 19:16Speaker 1: finally healthy again, ready to go. And I think this
- 19:19Speaker 1: will be another great challenge for them, because when we
- 19:21Speaker 1: talk about a team that's maybe not playing that well,
- 19:23Speaker 1: there's always a challenge within that. And for this week,
- 19:26Speaker 1: it's gonna be stopping the run in Breeze Hall. So
- 19:28Speaker 1: if they can go out there play well again against
- 19:30Speaker 1: the run, I'm gonna feel even better about them going
- 19:32Speaker 1: into Denver, and I expect fully that's what we see.
- 19:35Speaker 1: It's already been locked, so I'm not gonna go there,
- 19:37Speaker 1: but I sounds like you.
- 19:38Speaker 3: I think it's a dub.
- 19:39Speaker 1: I'll take a dub. We can't triple lock. That's never good,
- 19:42Speaker 1: so maybe a double lock that that might be.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Okay, But say you scared, jump in the water, swarm.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Okay, I'll lock it too, alright, double lock, John, you
- 19:53Speaker 1: stay out of this now. Triple lock, that's bad luck,
- 19:55Speaker 1: I've heard says Is. Tell you what's coming up the
- 19:57Speaker 1: rest of the week before the game once I'm in
- 20:04Speaker 1: Jaggs fans, if you want customized ors furniture for your home,
- 20:06Speaker 1: check out zipare dot com to browse all the customizable options.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Zip Chair is furniture for fans. Also, this upcoming game
- 20:12Speaker 1: this weekend against the Jets, brought to you by Geico
- 20:14Speaker 1: feels good to Geico.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Tris.
- 20:20Speaker 5: I'm gonna trans by. I know you're all ready to
- 20:22Speaker 5: go home. Man. We ain't them all the same old chess.
- 20:25Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 20:26Speaker 5: We got DT, we got Jakobe Mars. You know what
- 20:29Speaker 5: I'm saying. Come home, man. They don't know. They'll know
- 20:32Speaker 5: soon though, they'll no soon take the run, toss it
- 20:36Speaker 5: underneath handled by Strange. What a different stream makes for
- 20:40Speaker 5: this offense? You want a little boy? You want a
- 20:48Speaker 5: little boy? You can't, You can't. I come to the outside, friend.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Strange miked up last week definitely check that out against
- 21:09Speaker 1: the Colts.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Trench bully.
- 21:10Speaker 1: That's my new favorite word. Love, fellow kids. I love that.
- 21:14Speaker 4: He's a fun guy. But he may be the best
- 21:17Speaker 4: player on the team. And that's what an All Pro
- 21:20Speaker 4: tight end looks like. I don't know if he's going
- 21:22Speaker 4: to get that honor because it catches it. It's a
- 21:25Speaker 4: wide receiver vote. If it was a vote for a
- 21:28Speaker 4: tight end position.
- 21:29Speaker 3: He might be All Pro. I will say this.
- 21:30Speaker 2: I was listening to a national podcast the other day
- 21:32Speaker 2: and it's like they just discovered Brenton Strange. The block
- 21:36Speaker 2: on Zy You're Franklin that freed up that twenty eight
- 21:41Speaker 2: yard touchdown run caused these guys to go back and
- 21:43Speaker 2: watch Brenton Strange to know who he is, and they're like, listen,
- 21:47Speaker 2: this guy is really good. So the light is on
- 21:50Speaker 2: for people around the league now to watch eighty five.
- 21:52Speaker 2: We've seen him, we know what he's capable of. I'm
- 21:55Speaker 2: with you, John, the guy is as complete a football
- 21:57Speaker 2: player at that position as there is in the league.
- 22:00Speaker 2: And I think he is easily one of the two
- 22:02Speaker 2: or three best players on this team, maybe number one overall.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Here's what you hope happens for him that there's some
- 22:08Speaker 4: primetime big game that unfortunately it takes this where the
- 22:15Speaker 4: analyst realizes how good he is. But gush is about it.
- 22:18Speaker 4: So I like the Beselli game in nine Jason Taylor,
- 22:21Speaker 4: Well it was against Bruce and Jason Tambo Bruce, Yeah,
- 22:25Speaker 4: but where all of a sudden there's a light and
- 22:28Speaker 4: then he can ride that for a long time with
- 22:30Speaker 4: the recognition of how good he really is because he's special.
- 22:33Speaker 3: You said Beselli game, there were so many of them.
- 22:35Speaker 4: It's true.
- 22:36Speaker 2: But think about this storyline going to Denver the next week.
- 22:38Speaker 2: That's going to be a four o'clock game. It'll probably
- 22:41Speaker 2: have a large audience because of the records, and it's
- 22:44Speaker 2: going to be Brenton Strange and on the other side
- 22:46Speaker 2: Evan Ingram, and so the decision that the Jaguars made
- 22:49Speaker 2: to move on from one and to build around the
- 22:52Speaker 2: other will easily be a storyline.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Perhaps that could be a.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Day hopefully everyone sees what we see about number eighty five.
- 22:59Speaker 3: That'd be pretty fun.
- 23:00Speaker 1: And you know, whenever someone's like seen a movie for
- 23:02Speaker 1: the first time and you're like, oh, I wish I
- 23:03Speaker 1: could go back and see that movie for the first time.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Could you discovering Brenton Strange at this point would be
- 23:07Speaker 1: such a joy.
- 23:08Speaker 3: When there's a lot of guys on the national basis
- 23:09Speaker 3: that are doing that, it's about to be there.
- 23:12Speaker 4: I did not expect that, but yeah, what a player.
- 23:16Speaker 4: All right?
- 23:16Speaker 1: Enjoy the game this weekend. We will be back here
- 23:18Speaker 1: on jagxam on Monday to talk all about hopefully another
- 23:21Speaker 1: Jaguars win. See then,
