Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a Lilypad production. Hello there, LeapFrogs. Welcome
- 0:05Speaker 1: back to Fandemonium. This is a very special live episode
- 0:08Speaker 1: recorded at the Peak Improv Theatre because, as you will
- 0:11Speaker 1: hear at the start, this episode is two years in
- 0:15Speaker 1: the making. Thank you so much to Jay Henry for
- 0:18Speaker 1: suggesting this episode two full years ago and for being
- 0:22Speaker 1: so patient and waiting for us to put it on
- 0:24Speaker 1: as a live show in front of everyone at the Peak.
- 0:27Speaker 1: They were also an amazing panelist. as was Jennifer Caress,
- 0:31Speaker 1: their teammate on this episode, and an injured Megan Hyde,
- 0:35Speaker 1: who was stepping in for an even more injured Julia Bosie. Also,
- 0:40Speaker 1: Audra said several unexpected things in this record. This was
- 0:45Speaker 1: a hoot. I can't wait for you to listen to it.
- 0:47Speaker 1: There's not going to be too much waffle from me
- 0:49Speaker 1: up top, other than the announcement that we have three
- 0:52Speaker 1: more live shows left before the end of the year.
- 0:55Speaker 1: They are September 11th, October 9th, and December 11th. In September,
- 1:02Speaker 1: we are doing horror movies. That is a little over
- 1:04Speaker 1: a week after this episode comes out. Get your tickets
- 1:07Speaker 1: at peakimprov.com or the link in the episode description. We
- 1:12Speaker 1: absolutely love seeing folks there live. It's, as you'll hear
- 1:15Speaker 1: from this episode, there's plenty of chances to get involved,
- 1:19Speaker 1: chant along, and even score points as it happens. That
- 1:23Speaker 1: seems to be a recurring feature recently and I love it.
- 1:26Speaker 1: In October, we will be diving into a very popular
- 1:31Speaker 1: millennial Gen Z fandom that has been requested pretty much
- 1:36Speaker 1: every year for about five years straight now, but we've
- 1:39Speaker 1: never done it before. We are doing The Hunger Games
- 1:42Speaker 1: live at the Peak Improv Theatre on October 9th. And
- 1:47Speaker 1: then on December 11th, we are going to have a
- 1:50Speaker 1: holiday celebration as we are doing Christmas movies. It's a
- 1:55Speaker 1: fandom we've done before, but we think it will be
- 1:58Speaker 1: a very special one to revisit live. Everybody loves holiday movies,
- 2:03Speaker 1: from family classics all the way to the modern Netflix
- 2:08Speaker 1: hot frosties of the world. Look at me talking about
- 2:11Speaker 1: Christmas in September like I'm Target or Walmart or something.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I should stop talking about Christmas and just get on
- 2:18Speaker 1: with the episode. Follow us on Instagram at gateleaperspod. Get
- 2:22Speaker 1: access to the full video episode and video library on
- 2:26Speaker 1: our Patreon. There is a link in the show notes.
- 2:30Speaker 1: And please enjoy, finally, The Wait Is Over. It is
- 2:34Speaker 1: K-pop live. Hello and welcome to Fandomonium, the pop culture
- 3:03Speaker 1: game show that shines a spotlight onto everyone's favorite fandoms.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I'm your games master and cheek-boned demon from the other
- 3:10Speaker 1: side of the world, Matt Watson. Thank you! But a
- 3:16Speaker 1: games master needs games, and games need players, so please
- 3:19Speaker 1: welcome first. They are an improviser, musician, and member of Pretendium.
- 3:24Speaker 1: And when they suggested K-pop as a theme for Fandomonium,
- 3:27Speaker 1: I said, sure, I'll get right on that. And two
- 3:30Speaker 1: years later, here we are. Give it up for J.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Henry!
- 3:41Speaker 1: I'm going to ask about that in just a second.
- 3:44Speaker 1: And she is a writer, actor, and improviser who created
- 3:47Speaker 1: the hit play The Pool, which will be making its
- 3:49Speaker 1: return to New York City this fall, just like BTS.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Also back from her mandatory military service, please put your
- 3:56Speaker 1: hands together for Jennifer Carez!
- 3:58Speaker 2: Woo!
- 4:12Speaker 1: Welcome, Jay. Welcome, Jen. Thank you so much for joining
- 4:16Speaker 1: me here for this Fandemonium. How are you both doing?
- 4:18Speaker 3: So good.
- 4:20Speaker 4: Matt, as we are recording this, it is August 14th, 2026.
- 4:25Speaker 4: And we have been trying to make this episode happen
- 4:30Speaker 4: since September 14th, 2024.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Oh my goodness. So needless to say, I'm very happy
- 4:36Speaker 1: to be here tonight. I'm glad we could finally make
- 4:40Speaker 1: this happen. Jay, I am a little bit older than you,
- 4:42Speaker 1: so two years to me is like yesterday, but I
- 4:44Speaker 1: understand how this has been a long time for you.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I've been through a lot in that time. Don't judge me.
- 4:52Speaker 1: And Jen, how are you doing? Are you excited to
- 4:53Speaker 1: be here for a K-pop fandomonium?
- 4:55Speaker 3: I am so excited to be here.
- 4:56Speaker 5: Nice.
- 4:57Speaker 1: It's been two years! It's been two years! Two years! Okay,
- 5:01Speaker 1: just up top, I'm going to ask. I think I
- 5:03Speaker 1: know what Jay's answer is going to be, so Jen,
- 5:05Speaker 1: I'm going to come to you first.
- 5:06Speaker 5: Okay.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Are you a fan of K-pop? Oh my God. Oh
- 5:15Speaker 1: my God.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Yep.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Excellent, okay. And Jay, you are holding some kind of scepter.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Would you like to explain your object and tell us
- 5:26Speaker 1: if you are a fan of K-pop?
- 5:27Speaker 3: Explain that.
- 5:28Speaker 4: So I have listened to K-pop almost exclusively for about
- 5:32Speaker 4: five years now. And the object in my hand, or
- 5:37Speaker 4: I have multiple objects, but the most noticeable one is
- 5:42Speaker 4: my light stick for a group called Idare Sogno, or
- 5:48Speaker 4: Girl of the Month.
- 5:48Speaker 1: They also.
- 5:49Speaker 4: promote globally as Luna and it is their light stick.
- 5:59Speaker 4: So not only does it light up, it also flashes
- 6:04Speaker 4: and it flashes slower and then it lights up 12
- 6:07Speaker 4: different colors for the 12 members of LOONA.
- 6:10Speaker 1: 12 members? 12 members. They must play a lot of
- 6:14Speaker 1: instruments then, right?
- 6:16Speaker 4: No.
- 6:17Speaker 1: So they are all singers and rappers and dancers. Oh,
- 6:21Speaker 1: that's fun. And that's how most K-pop groups are.
- 6:25Speaker 4: There are some that like play individual instruments, but most
- 6:29Speaker 4: of them don't.
- 6:33Speaker 1: So yeah, that's this.
- 6:35Speaker 4: And then this is the most recent album from my
- 6:40Speaker 4: favorite currently promoting group because Luna is unfortunately disbanded. But
- 6:46Speaker 4: this is the most recent album from aespa. Uh, and that, uh, album,
- 6:53Speaker 4: there is another one of their albums, uh, whiplash from 2024. Um,
- 6:58Speaker 4: and yeah, this group, uh, I love them. They always
- 7:04Speaker 4: have like something completely different with every release. but it's
- 7:10Speaker 4: so like perfectly them. And I love that about them.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I also have something different with every release. It's called IBS.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Just real quick, Jay, are we getting any kind of, sure,
- 7:23Speaker 1: this is within camera shot. Can we get some kind
- 7:25Speaker 1: of money and compensation for a promotion here? Can you
- 7:28Speaker 1: hook us up?
- 7:31Speaker 4: I'll get with my contacts at one of the top
- 7:35Speaker 4: four biggest K-pop production agencies in Korea.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Okay, easy task then. Yeah, absolutely. Jay, thank you so
- 7:44Speaker 1: much for joining us. Give it up for Jay. And Jen,
- 7:48Speaker 1: I know your answer earlier was a slightly non-committal, but
- 7:51Speaker 1: do you have a favorite K-pop artist?
- 7:54Speaker 3: Well, they're fiction, I believe.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Oh, yeah?
- 7:57Speaker 3: But the Huntrix obviously changed my life.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's valid. I think that's K-pop. Yeah.
- 8:03Speaker 1: That's valid. It's right in the title. Yeah. K-pop and Hunters.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I mean, they have an actual K-pop producer.
- 8:08Speaker 3: See?
- 8:09Speaker 1: Okay. Therefore.
- 8:11Speaker 5: Proper.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Yeah. Exactly.
- 8:13Speaker 5: Nice.
- 8:13Speaker 1: So the fictional band? Huntrix. Yeah, nice. Good stuff. Give
- 8:18Speaker 1: it up for Jen, everyone. But you will need some opponents,
- 8:23Speaker 1: a rival group to face off against. Let's meet them.
- 8:27Speaker 1: She is our resident panelist. Already the villains. She's our
- 8:31Speaker 1: resident panelist, a podcaster and comedian who works in STEM,
- 8:35Speaker 1: which today stands for Super Team Entertainment Men. It sounds
- 8:39Speaker 1: better in Korean. Make some noise for Audra Stevenson.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Yay! Audra!
- 8:50Speaker 4: Audra! Audra!
- 8:52Speaker 1: The rare boo and the name chant.
- 8:55Speaker 5: I didn't run that by Megan.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I don't know if Megan wants to be booed. Let's
- 9:00Speaker 1: find out. She is an improviser, musician, and comedy educator
- 9:04Speaker 1: who is in the Stick Horses and Tune Titans. She's
- 9:07Speaker 1: one of the reasons we all get to put on
- 9:08Speaker 1: these silly shows, so any chance I get to celebrate
- 9:11Speaker 1: her is a joy. So go absolutely wild for Megan Hyde! Woo! Megan!
- 9:23Speaker 2: Megan!
- 9:24Speaker 1: Megan!
- 9:25Speaker 4: Megan!
- 9:26Speaker 2: Megan!
- 9:26Speaker 5: Megan!
- 9:27Speaker 1: Megan! How can you be the villains with a costume
- 9:30Speaker 1: change like that? Incredible. How indeed. How indeed.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I forgot I'm on a podcast.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you did.
- 9:40Speaker 2: There's a raised hand. There's a polite raised hand over here.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Oh, we've got questions.
- 9:45Speaker 6: Megan looks, for anyone in here, she looks like Jinx
- 9:49Speaker 6: from an amazing show called Arcane.
- 9:54Speaker 1: She looks like Jinx.
- 9:55Speaker 6: I know this is a podcast, but can we just
- 9:57Speaker 6: give it up for Megan's outfit?
- 9:59Speaker 1: She looks like Jinx. from Arcane.
- 10:02Speaker 4: That's totally what I was going for.
- 10:05Speaker 2: So intense.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Ultra, Megan, how are you both doing?
- 10:08Speaker 5: I'm doing great. I listened to K-pop all day today.
- 10:12Speaker 5: I have a peach mule. I keep calling it a
- 10:16Speaker 5: peach mango mule. That's not true.
- 10:19Speaker 3: But I'm having a great time.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Nice.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Megan?
- 10:22Speaker 2: I found out I was doing this about two hours
- 10:24Speaker 2: before the show.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Yep.
- 10:26Speaker 2: But I also brought something that glows. This is my
- 10:31Speaker 2: TENS unit. I'm actively electrocuting myself right now so that
- 10:38Speaker 2: I'm not in pain and I can sit this long.
- 10:40Speaker 5: TENS unit does sound like a K-pop group.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Absolutely, yes. Megan, we of course appreciate you so much
- 10:49Speaker 1: stepping in at the last minute to fill a seat
- 10:51Speaker 1: up on stage. You know what?
- 10:52Speaker 2: Any chance I can get to play with you guys,
- 10:55Speaker 2: I'm going to take it.
- 10:58Speaker 1: And I'm still gonna say what I'm gonna say. We
- 11:01Speaker 1: appreciate you for going through excruciating back pain for playing
- 11:04Speaker 1: these silly games.
- 11:05Speaker 2: It's the least I can do for you guys, obviously.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I feel awful, but give it up for Megan, everyone. Okay,
- 11:12Speaker 1: I've gotta ask both of you. Audra, you've been listening
- 11:14Speaker 1: to K-pop today. Are you a fan of K-pop?
- 11:18Speaker 5: I am, before today, a fan of K-pop. The K-pop
- 11:23Speaker 5: that I was listening to five years ago was outdated then.
- 11:27Speaker 5: So my knowledge has like an era and then a
- 11:32Speaker 5: dark period and then K-pop demon hunters. Like many, like many.
- 11:38Speaker 5: But I am a fan of K-pop. I thoroughly enjoy
- 11:40Speaker 5: the genre.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Okay. Genre. Pronouncing it correctly. I love it. Genre. Genre. Genre.
- 11:50Speaker 1: How do people mispronounce it? Genre.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Oh, it's got the little zhuzh to it.
- 11:56Speaker 1: It's a French word.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Got some zhuzh.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Megan, how about yourself? Are you a fan of K-pop?
- 12:01Speaker 2: Well, let me tell you. My younger child, Jaden, huge
- 12:07Speaker 2: fan of K-pop. And like any good mother. who's invested
- 12:11Speaker 2: in their child. I know everything there is to know
- 12:17Speaker 2: about that interest. I did a deep dive the moment
- 12:23Speaker 2: they got interested in it and I've just been following
- 12:25Speaker 2: it and we have endless conversations. where Jaden info dumps
- 12:29Speaker 2: on me about K-pop and I listen so well and
- 12:32Speaker 2: remember things. So you guys are going down. We're going
- 12:37Speaker 2: to crush you.
- 12:38Speaker 1: I feel so threatened. We have a light stick. We
- 12:42Speaker 1: have a light stick. I don't know if you're aware.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I have a tens unit.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Okay, but we also have not one, but two aespa albums.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Okay, but our outfits are cuter.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I can't deny that. We have colorful hair.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I have a perm. God, Jay got us there. God,
- 13:05Speaker 1: improvisers are so good at smack talk. I will also ask,
- 13:12Speaker 1: do you have any favorite K-pop artists, Audra?
- 13:16Speaker 5: I'm a huge Blink, I love Blackpink so much, and
- 13:21Speaker 5: I love Blackpink, and I was a big Red Velvet fan. Okay, yes,
- 13:27Speaker 5: validation from Jay.
- 13:29Speaker 3: That's all I need.
- 13:31Speaker 2: That's that country song, right?
- 13:33Speaker 1: Red velvet in the little bowl. That's close. That's K-pop.
- 13:37Speaker 7: You guys are going down.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Megan, do you have a K-pop artist you're a fan of?
- 13:45Speaker 1: Did you listen to Jayden?
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Changbin. He's the Korean Eminem.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Okay.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Look it up. Yeah, Stray Kids. That's what this hat is, right?
- 13:58Speaker 4: It looks Stray Kids to me.
- 14:02Speaker 5: We're all going to say this is an audio medium
- 14:05Speaker 5: and anybody who can find a clip, fight me.
- 14:09Speaker 1: If we're wrong, fight me. Okay, Teams, that's the next
- 14:15Speaker 1: part of my script. Okay, Teams, you're all aspirational pop stars,
- 14:19Speaker 1: and looking at you, yes, you're all white enough for
- 14:22Speaker 1: contemporary South Korean beauty standards. You've got a shot! But
- 14:26Speaker 1: if you want a chance at fame, riches, and chronic
- 14:29Speaker 1: back pain, sorry, Megan, that was already written in the script.
- 14:33Speaker 1: You're going to need to sign your name away. May
- 14:35Speaker 1: I suggest you come up with an alias, a catchy acronym,
- 14:38Speaker 1: or while you're at it, a K-pop-themed team name for
- 14:40Speaker 1: this comedy game show? What a good idea. Should we
- 14:43Speaker 1: do it? Jay? Jen? Yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 4: So we actually decided on our team name literally a
- 14:48Speaker 4: year ago. It was when I had first gotten Jen
- 14:54Speaker 4: into K-pop via K-pop Demon Hunter.
- 14:56Speaker 3: This is all his fault.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Yes. And so we were.
- 15:01Speaker 4: inspired by our fearless queen's huntrix, but we also know
- 15:09Speaker 4: how this show goes in terms of team names.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Oh, I see what you're getting at. Yeah.
- 15:15Speaker 4: So our team name is Cunt Dicks.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Oh, you went for the double.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:23Speaker 4: So it's C-U-N-T-D slash X.
- 15:28Speaker 5: I need you to know, I already wrote a double.
- 15:33Speaker 6: For you.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Gun dicks, gun dicks, gun dicks. My mother listens to this.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Hell yeah.
- 15:40Speaker 1: All right.
- 15:42Speaker 8: Hi, Matt's mom.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Hi, Matt's mom. And it should also be said, this
- 15:47Speaker 1: is what you get at a peak improv late show.
- 15:49Speaker 1: You get the C-bomb. You get cunt dicks. You get
- 15:51Speaker 1: cunt dicks.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:54Speaker 1: So, fantastic team name. Very good. A year in the making.
- 15:56Speaker 1: We have cunt dicks. Let's find out who they'll be facing. Megan?
- 15:59Speaker 5: Audra?
- 16:02Speaker 1: Did you?
- 16:03Speaker 2: Well, I thought of Contrix before I knew that. That
- 16:07Speaker 2: worked for us. We're girls and stuff. Yeah, it's too similar,
- 16:10Speaker 2: so we're going to go with something else.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 5: We just needed that extra year to be able to advertise.
- 16:15Speaker 3: No, that's fair.
- 16:17Speaker 5: I had a couple because I love Blackpink, but we're
- 16:21Speaker 5: in the Peak Improv Theater, so Black Teal.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I like that one.
- 16:26Speaker 5: And then I know SM Entertainment is one of the
- 16:29Speaker 5: big three main entertainment companies, but AM Entertainment.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Was another one.
- 16:37Speaker 5: And then a lot of the K-pop groups are so
- 16:40Speaker 5: hot and so stinking respectful. They're just hot and respectful.
- 16:43Speaker 5: So hot and disrespectful.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Oh, nice. Those are my main ones.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Wow, you guys. You're going down.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Boo!
- 16:55Speaker 3: Boo to that, I swear. Oh, that's so hot and respectful.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I see you're going with hot and respectful.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Um, I don't, I think it's between black teal and
- 17:07Speaker 2: hot and disrespectful. Can we get an audience vote?
- 17:09Speaker 1: Let's do it. Un-disrespectful. Okay, I think it's hot. Un-disrespectful.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Easiest thing to chant?
- 17:15Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I love the chantability on this.
- 17:18Speaker 4: I can't wait for the buzzers in the quick-fire round.
- 17:21Speaker 2: You could just chant hot. We'll respond to that.
- 17:24Speaker 1: It's fine. Hot, hot, hot, hot, hot.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I had a dream about this and
- 17:29Speaker 2: it came true.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Matt, that's not going to work. So, we have cunt
- 17:39Speaker 1: dicks versus hot and disrespectful. Give it up for our teams! Okay, teams,
- 17:46Speaker 1: let's da-da-da-da do this and play round one! Round one
- 17:55Speaker 1: is called No K. In this game, I'm going to
- 17:58Speaker 1: ask each of our players to speak about a K-pop
- 18:01Speaker 1: topic for 90 seconds. Each player will start with five points,
- 18:05Speaker 1: Every time they say a letter, every time they say
- 18:08Speaker 1: a word with the letter K in it, we will
- 18:10Speaker 1: all make this sound. Very good, lovely stuff. Which will
- 18:17Speaker 1: signal that they have broken the rule, and they will
- 18:19Speaker 1: lose one of their five points. And it will be myself,
- 18:22Speaker 1: your opponents, and the audience listening out for a K.
- 18:26Speaker 1: It doesn't matter where in the word that K is,
- 18:29Speaker 1: I just don't want to hear it. That's the rule
- 18:31Speaker 1: of the game.
- 18:32Speaker 2: What if it's a silent K?
- 18:35Speaker 1: You said you don't wanna hear it. You know, I
- 18:39Speaker 1: did say that, but also I don't want to perceive it.
- 18:43Speaker 8: Fair.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Megan found that loophole so fast, but I sawed it
- 18:48Speaker 1: up expertly. It's not gonna last. Okay, so first up,
- 18:54Speaker 1: I think we're going to have Jay give us a
- 18:58Speaker 1: lecture first. Jay, you're gonna have 90 seconds on the
- 19:01Speaker 1: clock to tell us everything you know about K-pop idol culture.
- 19:06Speaker 1: So everything you know about idol culture. Are you ready?
- 19:09Speaker 4: Yes.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Okay, Jay. And everyone else, listen out for a word
- 19:13Speaker 1: with a K in it. Your time starts now.
- 19:17Speaker 4: So idols, a lot of times, will have accompanying reality
- 19:23Speaker 4: shows that will be released on YouTube.
- 19:27Speaker 1: And they're kind of.
- 19:32Speaker 4: They're sort of like.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Variety shows they'll have competitions sometimes and travel vlogs and
- 19:51Speaker 4: behind the scenes footage from behind the stage at TV
- 19:56Speaker 4: shows where they'll perform every week and a lot of
- 19:59Speaker 4: them are also brand ambassadors for various fashion companies Uh,
- 20:10Speaker 4: and they'll, a lot of them have a lot of
- 20:15Speaker 4: followers on Instagram, uh, and various social media platforms. Um,
- 20:21Speaker 4: and a lot of them will do, uh, live videos
- 20:24Speaker 4: on V live, uh, for their fans, uh, And how
- 20:29Speaker 4: much time? Oh my God, I have so much time.
- 20:32Speaker 4: You're doing great. Yeah. So they'll have every, you know,
- 20:41Speaker 4: seven day period.
- 20:41Speaker 2: No, you know the word no, it has a K
- 20:43Speaker 2: in it. Oh.
- 20:46Speaker 5: What?
- 20:46Speaker 1: Time's up. It was one of those silent Ks. I
- 20:51Speaker 1: was listening for it specifically. Megan was listening.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Out for it.
- 20:54Speaker 1: What was the, He said, you know. You know.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Yeah. So that look, Jay, you did amazing. And I
- 21:04Speaker 1: also forgot to say that I will be handing out
- 21:05Speaker 1: a bonus point for just if you informed me during
- 21:08Speaker 1: your lecture, and you did, but I think you were
- 21:11Speaker 1: left with one point in your pool of Ks. So
- 21:17Speaker 1: you now have two points. You scored two points. And
- 21:23Speaker 1: you taught us all about idol culture that we're all
- 21:25Speaker 1: going to take home and remember. We're winning. Okay, next up,
- 21:32Speaker 1: we're gonna have Megan give us a lecture. And Megan
- 21:36Speaker 1: is going to give us a lecture telling us what
- 21:39Speaker 1: she knows about the biggest K-pop groups in the world.
- 21:43Speaker 1: So the biggest K-pop artists in the world, what you
- 21:45Speaker 1: know about them, height of your knowledge, without saying a K.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Your time starts now.
- 21:52Speaker 2: I'm definitely going to be able to say so many
- 22:01Speaker 2: things about this particular subject. There's BTS, which stands for
- 22:13Speaker 2: Boys That Sing.
- 22:14Speaker 1: And in that band, there are.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Several boys. I suppose you might want to learn how
- 22:32Speaker 2: many exactly. I'm going to say seven.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Confidently. And then there's the stray children.
- 22:48Speaker 2: I said stray children because the actual name of the
- 22:51Speaker 2: band is There is a letter I cannot say. So,
- 22:55Speaker 2: stray children, which it's really cool of them to put
- 23:00Speaker 2: a bunch of stray children into a band because we
- 23:05Speaker 2: want to have a place for them to go. And
- 23:08Speaker 2: giving them a purpose and something to sing about. They've
- 23:17Speaker 2: got a lot of... stuff to think to sing about
- 23:24Speaker 2: i didn't that wasn't part of the word i.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Think i think it was saying that is your time
- 23:31Speaker 1: give it up for megan speech now i do believe
- 23:36Speaker 1: that is the full five points and absolutely that was
- 23:38Speaker 1: fantastic i didn't hear a single k i don't want
- 23:40Speaker 1: to hear them but I didn't gain a whole lot
- 23:45Speaker 1: of knowledge. I don't think I got a whole lot
- 23:47Speaker 1: of knowledge, so I don't think I can give you
- 23:48Speaker 1: the bonus points. But still, a full five points, amazing. Okay,
- 23:53Speaker 1: next up is Jen on Cunt Dex. Sorry, Mom. You
- 23:59Speaker 1: will have a full 90 seconds to tell us everything
- 24:01Speaker 1: you know about the movie K-Pop Demon Hunters.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Okay.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Are you ready, Jen? Without saying the letter K, your
- 24:11Speaker 1: time starts now.
- 24:13Speaker 7: So this movie has no business being as good as
- 24:19Speaker 7: it is. And it starts out with a singing group
- 24:26Speaker 7: who was born with magical.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Voices that can protect humans from demons.
- 24:34Speaker 5: Right?
- 24:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:43Speaker 3: That is a great gift to have.
- 24:49Speaker 7: And so they use their voices to market, to the
- 24:59Speaker 7: shit out of, out of their talent and to become
- 25:06Speaker 7: rich as they should.
- 25:09Speaker 3: And also battle demons.
- 25:14Speaker 7: I think we owe them a lot of gratitude for
- 25:23Speaker 7: protecting us from the demons from the underworld that are
- 25:29Speaker 7: always coming for us. They do not rest, you guys.
- 25:34Speaker 7: They are constantly rising up from the earth's crust to
- 25:38Speaker 7: take over us.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Balls! You can say balls, that's fine. That was excellent.
- 25:50Speaker 1: I learned a lot there about the movie K-Pop Demon
- 25:52Speaker 1: Hunters that I promised people I would watch before this,
- 25:55Speaker 1: but I didn't. Come on, Matt. It was the easiest
- 26:00Speaker 1: piece of media to consume. So I believe that was
- 26:03Speaker 1: two points you were left with there. But I'm also
- 26:06Speaker 1: going to give you the bonus point for knowledge. That'll
- 26:07Speaker 1: be three points total for you there, Jen. Good stuff.
- 26:11Speaker 3: Also, can I just mention that I'm sober?
- 26:12Speaker 1: You can mention that.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Can I just get like a sympathy wah-wah or something?
- 26:16Speaker 3: Because I don't want to be.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Solidarity, I'm also sober.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Audra, how about you? Are you sober? Yes. Well, sober
- 26:30Speaker 1: or nay, it is time for you to give your speech.
- 26:34Speaker 1: And Audra, I am going to ask you to speak
- 26:35Speaker 1: for 90 seconds, telling us everything you know about Jenny
- 26:40Speaker 1: from Blackpink.
- 26:41Speaker 6: Do you remember?
- 26:45Speaker 2: Don't say Blackpink. Yeah, I can't.
- 26:49Speaker 1: I've just realized what I've done there. I can't even
- 26:52Speaker 1: say her last name. All right, first name only. All right,
- 26:57Speaker 1: 90 seconds without saying K. Your time starts now.
- 27:00Speaker 5: Jenny M.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Okay, we're letting that slide. Cool.
- 27:10Speaker 5: Oh, I almost said it again. Jenny M. M from
- 27:17Speaker 5: Blah Pin.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Is an idol.
- 27:25Speaker 3: I love.
- 27:27Speaker 5: She's my bias in Blah Pin. She was born in
- 27:36Speaker 5: South Aurea.
- 27:37Speaker 1: And then moved to New Zealand as.
- 27:40Speaker 5: A as a stray child. Went to school there, then went.
- 27:58Speaker 5: Returned to South Aria to audition for the Idol program
- 28:01Speaker 5: and got it because.
- 28:15Speaker 3: She's incredible.
- 28:17Speaker 5: Um, she is beautiful and wonderful. And she's partnered with Chanel,
- 28:25Speaker 5: which I have mixed feelings about, but ultimately.
- 28:31Speaker 1: We don't need to find out what, but ultimately Chanel,
- 28:35Speaker 1: the perfume company. Yes. And clothing.
- 28:38Speaker 5: It's, It's rich stuff, and I have a problem with it. But,
- 28:42Speaker 5: you know, I'm so glad we didn't get to ultimately.
- 28:45Speaker 5: I didn't have an ultimate. Well, what you did have
- 28:49Speaker 5: was only 1K, I think. So that's four points.
- 28:53Speaker 1: And I learned about Jenny from Blackpink, and I gave
- 28:56Speaker 1: you the hardest topic to get super granular. So you're
- 28:58Speaker 1: getting your bonus point. That's five points for Audra. I
- 29:01Speaker 1: was laughing. Yeah, that was really, that was a loophole
- 29:06Speaker 1: that you found. That was very cheeky.
- 29:08Speaker 5: Laugh.
- 29:09Speaker 1: But they seem to like it. So I'm going to
- 29:11Speaker 1: let you off.
- 29:12Speaker 5: I did the first one of Jenny M to see,
- 29:17Speaker 5: just to test the waters.
- 29:19Speaker 2: We're going to need those points.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Okay. That is the end of round one. Producer Jen,
- 29:27Speaker 1: who I will no longer refer to as Jenny, not
- 29:29Speaker 1: even for a joke and show copy. Could you please
- 29:31Speaker 1: reveal the latest scores?
- 29:33Speaker 2: Hey, being called Jenny.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Who knows that? Oh, I'm going to say this all night.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Cunt dicks!
- 29:42Speaker 4: Yay!
- 29:43Speaker 3: Sorry, Mads Mom.
- 29:44Speaker 1: It's respectful. Are on 10.
- 29:46Speaker 4: Damn.
- 29:47Speaker 1: So there's a technical difficulty.
- 29:50Speaker 9: In the booth where the Wi-Fi went out and then
- 29:52Speaker 9: the computer signed out. So if someone who knows that
- 29:54Speaker 9: information could go help kiss Chris and me.
- 29:56Speaker 3: We're good?
- 29:57Speaker 1: We're good? We're good.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Wi-Fi.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Wi-Fi.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Wi-Fi.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Wi-Fi.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Wi-Fi.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Fantastic. Chris. Thank you. Thank you, Chris. Round two is
- 30:18Speaker 1: called Paradeoki. In turns, players will sing new lyrics to
- 30:22Speaker 1: the tune or beat of an iconic K-pop hit, karaoke style.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Those new lyrics will be clues to something related to
- 30:29Speaker 1: South Korea for their teammate to guess at the end.
- 30:33Speaker 1: So it'll be a non-K-pop related South Korean thing. Please
- 30:36Speaker 1: don't say your South Korean thing in your lyrics. All
- 30:39Speaker 1: many of the original lyrics to the original song, we
- 30:42Speaker 1: simply cannot afford the licensing. points out of five for
- 30:46Speaker 1: giving it your all because Americans are used to being
- 30:48Speaker 1: judged by British accents on talent shows and a bonus
- 30:52Speaker 1: point if your teammate correctly guesses your South Korean thing
- 30:56Speaker 1: so up first we have Jay Jay this is what
- 31:02Speaker 1: you will be singing clues to your South Korean thing
- 31:06Speaker 1: for Jen to guess you happy with that? Yeah. You'll
- 31:09Speaker 1: have to be. What song am I doing? Your song
- 31:13Speaker 1: is Next Level by Aespa.
- 31:15Speaker 4: Okay, you're about to hear some basically just beat poetry.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Love it.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Crank that up, Chris.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Mm. Mm. Mm.
- 31:35Speaker 4: This is a fermented cabbage or some kind of vegetable
- 31:41Speaker 4: or something spicy.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really, really good.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Give it up for Jay! Fantastic, we absolutely did hear
- 31:53Speaker 1: some beat poetry. Okay, I will give you scores out
- 31:58Speaker 1: of five in just a second while the clues are
- 32:00Speaker 1: fresh in Jen's mind. Jen, do you know what South
- 32:02Speaker 1: Korean thing Jay was singing clues about?
- 32:04Speaker 3: I believe he was singing about kimchi.
- 32:05Speaker 1: It was kimchi! And Jay, you vibed, you grooved. I'm
- 32:11Speaker 1: giving you four out of five points. All right, that's
- 32:15Speaker 1: a five points total for Jay there. We are gonna
- 32:18Speaker 1: move on over to Hot and Disrespectful. Who is who?
- 32:21Speaker 1: We're both both of them.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Fucker.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Pisshog. Pisshog. Pisshog. Pisshog. Pisshog. Pisshog. Pisshog. I love that
- 32:36Speaker 1: that's been my nickname since February. I barely understand what
- 32:40Speaker 1: it means anymore. So Megan, do you have your South
- 32:43Speaker 1: Korean thing that you'll be singing about? Yep. And you
- 32:45Speaker 1: will be doing that to the tune of How You
- 32:47Speaker 1: Like That by Blackpink.
- 32:49Speaker 2: And just real quick, I'm allowed to use words with
- 32:51Speaker 2: the letter K this time?
- 32:52Speaker 1: You absolutely are this time. That would have been so hard.
- 32:54Speaker 1: The full dictionary is available to you. Okay, DJ Reagan,
- 32:59Speaker 1: can we crank that up? Oh my God.
- 33:08Speaker 2: This is something that you should know. What this thing is,
- 33:20Speaker 2: is a TV show. And on this TV show, people competed.
- 33:32Speaker 2: And I'm pretty sure they would be killed if they
- 33:35Speaker 2: were defeated.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what this is.
- 33:44Speaker 2: It's named after a creature in the sea and they
- 33:48Speaker 2: compete with each other. It's not an octopus or a
- 33:53Speaker 2: fishy with no feet.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Absolutely fantastic stuff there. Before those clues leave your mind, Audra,
- 34:04Speaker 1: what was Megan singing about?
- 34:05Speaker 5: Oh, This is Squid Game.
- 34:08Speaker 1: It is indeed Squid Game!
- 34:09Speaker 5: I was transfixed by her performance. I was like, oh shit, yes,
- 34:13Speaker 5: I do have to guess a thing.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Beautiful interpretation of how you like that. I, too, was transfixed.
- 34:20Speaker 1: The high notes, and then we got some bars at
- 34:22Speaker 1: the end. It's a full five out of five points.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Okay, strong start. We'll see what happens next.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Yeah, we had hot and disrespectful, we're like, we're gonna
- 34:34Speaker 1: try and rack up points in round one and round two,
- 34:35Speaker 1: because we have no chance in the other two.
- 34:37Speaker 2: That's our strategy, you just told him our strategy.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Sorry, sorry. Damn it, piss hog. Strategy, strategy, we'll get you,
- 34:45Speaker 1: get you, baby. Okay, next up over on cunt dicks,
- 34:49Speaker 1: we have Jen. Yeah. Jen, this is your South Korean
- 34:53Speaker 1: thing that you will be singing clues about for Jay.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Oh, shit, okay.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Yeah? Familiar?
- 35:00Speaker 2: Yep.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Yep, excellent. Okay. And that will be to the tune
- 35:03Speaker 1: of Golden by Huntrix. DJ Reagan. Woo, Reagan! Okay.
- 35:21Speaker 3: Drive down the road.
- 35:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:25Speaker 3: In a small little.
- 35:27Speaker 7: This comes from your hearts, but also an engine Yeah
- 35:31Speaker 7: You got this.
- 35:43Speaker 3: I'm too sober.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Three letters.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Start the title. Four letters follow.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Driving down the road in this.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Yes.
- 36:00Speaker 1: I feel it. I feel it deep inside. It's a car.
- 36:06Speaker 1: I just want to hear it drop.
- 36:09Speaker 7: All right.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Give it up for Jen. Okay, while those clues are fresh, Jay,
- 36:16Speaker 1: do you know what Jen was singing about?
- 36:18Speaker 3: It was so clear.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Well, Matt, I have to say as the clue writer,
- 36:24Speaker 4: you definitely know about my other interests. This is definitely
- 36:27Speaker 4: a Kia Soul.
- 36:29Speaker 8: Whoa!
- 36:30Speaker 1: It's exactly a Kia Soul! Fantastic. Even the soul as well.
- 36:37Speaker 1: And Jen, you gave it with the box. That's what
- 36:39Speaker 1: you got to say. Right? Absolutely. It's a box on wheels. Fantastic. Jen,
- 36:45Speaker 1: I'm so sorry that you weren't drunk for that. Thank you.
- 36:48Speaker 1: But I am going to give you four out of
- 36:49Speaker 1: five points for that performance. Fantastic. Excellent guessing there, Jay.
- 36:55Speaker 1: I thought I was going to stump your team with that. Alas, no,
- 36:58Speaker 1: let's see if I can stump. I'm also a car guy.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Stump this, yeah. Let's see if I can stump hot
- 37:04Speaker 1: and disrespectful with this one. Audra, this is your clue
- 37:07Speaker 1: to sing about to give clues to, to Megan.
- 37:13Speaker 2: By whatever means necessary, Audra, whatever means necessary.
- 37:18Speaker 1: God, the amount I want to show this to the audience.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Okay, we'll find out.
- 37:22Speaker 1: And I'm just going to say this sentence to Ragebait J.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Audra's going to be singing to the tune of the
- 37:28Speaker 1: song that started it all, Gangnam Style by Psy. Oh
- 37:32Speaker 1: my god, I love Gangnam Style. I love Gangnam Style.
- 37:36Speaker 1: It's so good. It's so good after 14 years.
- 37:45Speaker 5: This is a region between North and South Korea.
- 37:49Speaker 1: It's a place you do not want to be at.
- 37:52Speaker 1: I don't think we're supposed to go there. I think
- 37:55Speaker 1: it's dangerous. That's what I know.
- 37:57Speaker 5: It's three letters, very strange for us.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Music break.
- 38:03Speaker 8: Don't go there style.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Don't go there style.
- 38:14Speaker 5: There might be mines on the ground.
- 38:16Speaker 1: All right, give it up for Ultra! That was so good.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Just before it got more disrespectful there. Megan.
- 38:30Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 38:30Speaker 1: What do you think Ultra was giving clues to? The DMZ.
- 38:33Speaker 4: It was the DMZ!
- 38:36Speaker 2: I crammed with South Korean knowledge today and that part stuck.
- 38:41Speaker 1: It's so funny. Soul and DMZ, that's all I got.
- 38:46Speaker 1: It's a unique thing about the region. I thought that
- 38:52Speaker 1: was fantastic. And just for the line, don't go there style.
- 38:57Speaker 1: I'm also going to, I'm going to give you the
- 38:58Speaker 1: full five out of five points. Okay. That is the
- 39:04Speaker 1: end of the round. Producer Jen, before the copyright lawyers
- 39:08Speaker 1: get on our asses, can you please read the latest scores?
- 39:11Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 39:18Speaker 3: That was a weird one.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Point total.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I also just abruptly ended the round
- 39:24Speaker 1: and then went, Jen, now do math. Do math. Jen,
- 39:33Speaker 1: you're supposed to be doing the math while they're chanting.
- 39:35Speaker 2: I did it while I was vamping.
- 39:39Speaker 1: Wow. Math and vamping.
- 39:39Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Hot and.
- 39:43Speaker 9: Disrespectful are on.
- 39:45Speaker 1: A big old 22 points.
- 39:46Speaker 5: Whoa!
- 39:47Speaker 9: And Cutdicks are on 15, but as we go into
- 39:52Speaker 9: more rounds where you actually need to know about this genre,
- 39:54Speaker 9: that might be it.
- 39:55Speaker 1: We're fucked.
- 39:56Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 39:57Speaker 5: I know Blackpink. I know Red Velvet. I called FX
- 40:02Speaker 5: Function of X because I was a math student.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Women in STEM! Women in STEM! Women in STEM! And
- 40:10Speaker 1: with that, it's time for round three!
- 40:13Speaker 7: Round three!
- 40:16Speaker 1: Round three is called Cake Pop Demon Hunters. That's right,
- 40:20Speaker 1: we're playing the Hear Me Out Cake. Producer Jen is
- 40:23Speaker 1: placing a cake center stage as I speak, where our
- 40:27Speaker 1: wonderful peak improv audience will be able to see a
- 40:30Speaker 1: selection of four famous demons. but those cake toppers aren't double-sided, baby.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Our players can only see a silhouette. In turns, they
- 40:39Speaker 1: will select a demon from the cake and they will
- 40:42Speaker 1: each have 45 seconds to justify their attraction, sexual or otherwise,
- 40:47Speaker 1: to that demon. Points out of five for how much
- 40:50Speaker 1: you make the audience blush and how much we believe you. Okay,
- 40:55Speaker 1: those are the demons there, as if by magic they
- 40:57Speaker 1: have appeared. Are we ready? Shall we do this? Jay,
- 41:03Speaker 1: would you like to approach and select a demon? Approach
- 41:13Speaker 1: the demon from behind, please. Am I not allowed to
- 41:16Speaker 1: look at it after I pick it either? Once you
- 41:18Speaker 1: pick it, you're allowed to look at it, yes. Okay, yeah,
- 41:22Speaker 1: I knew it.
- 41:22Speaker 2: That's the only one I knew anything about.
- 41:26Speaker 1: My water bottle, my owala. Again, you just keep saying
- 41:32Speaker 1: brands that we're not getting paid by.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Okay.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Okay, Jay, I'm going to put 45 seconds on the clock. Oh, wait,
- 41:40Speaker 1: 45 seconds takes me 45 clicks of this. Okay, everybody watch. Thanks, everyone. Okay, Jay,
- 41:52Speaker 1: you're 45 seconds to justify your attraction. Do you know
- 41:54Speaker 1: who that is, by the way?
- 41:55Speaker 4: Yes, this is Genu from Saja Boys of K-Pop Demon Hunters.
- 41:59Speaker 1: Easy mode. Pick the easy one. All right, Jay, your
- 42:03Speaker 1: time starts now.
- 42:06Speaker 4: So, I just, Genu, he is the best, like, morally
- 42:12Speaker 4: gray kind of character, I feel like, that we've seen
- 42:16Speaker 4: in modern animation.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Um....
- 42:20Speaker 4: And he's just so fucking hot. And he is very clearly,
- 42:28Speaker 4: I feel like, inspired by San of ATEEZ, who is
- 42:35Speaker 4: my favorite member of ATEEZ. for many, many reasons. And also,
- 42:42Speaker 4: his fit's kind of sick. The like, kind of like-
- 42:50Speaker 4: That's your time!
- 42:51Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, that was very coy. That was very chaste.
- 42:56Speaker 1: That was very like, oh, I like him for reasons.
- 43:01Speaker 1: That felt very reserved and restrained. I'm horny on the inside. Look,
- 43:10Speaker 1: because of that, and I was expecting for you to
- 43:12Speaker 1: go phrasing, but balls to the wall horny. That was
- 43:17Speaker 1: somehow hotter that you didn't do that. You subverted my expectations.
- 43:22Speaker 4: Well, I now have the knowledge that your fucking mom
- 43:25Speaker 4: listens to this podcast.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Should have said that. Look, I'm going to give you
- 43:33Speaker 1: five out of five points. Yay! But I will say
- 43:36Speaker 1: you were on easy mode, and the next three are
- 43:38Speaker 1: gonna be tougher, okay? So next up, Megan, could you
- 43:40Speaker 1: please select a demon from the cake?
- 43:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm having a hard time seeing
- 43:46Speaker 2: this one.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Oh, I see, yeah, yeah, yeah. Really get into those silhouettes.
- 43:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna go with this one, I guess.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Okay, okay. I'll take a look at that. You don't
- 44:04Speaker 1: have to recognize that guy, but you've got to say
- 44:07Speaker 1: why you're attracted to him. Oh, okay.
- 44:09Speaker 4: All right.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Are you ready, Megan? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Your time starts now. Okay, well,
- 44:15Speaker 1: first of all, he's... Red.
- 44:17Speaker 5: You know?
- 44:18Speaker 2: And red is the color of passion.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:22Speaker 4: You know?
- 44:22Speaker 2: And that's a turn on right there. This guy, he
- 44:26Speaker 2: gets angry.
- 44:27Speaker 1: You know? He gets angry.
- 44:29Speaker 2: And boy, do I like getting fucked by an angry guy.
- 44:34Speaker 8: You know?
- 44:35Speaker 1: But like, he's not actually angry.
- 44:39Speaker 2: He's just pretending. It's like a role play thing.
- 44:41Speaker 1: And those horns... Boy, they can go places. Oh my God.
- 44:46Speaker 2: I'm sorry to your mom, but look at those fuzzy shorts.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Fuzzy shorts. I'm a real tactile girl. You're going to
- 44:53Speaker 2: rub those on my places.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. Are those, are those hooves? The apologies
- 45:04Speaker 1: to my mother in the middle of that was hilarious. Megan,
- 45:11Speaker 1: that was fantastic. Out of interest, do you know who
- 45:13Speaker 1: that character is? Satan, right? Yeah, it's absolutely Satan. Satan
- 45:17Speaker 1: from South Park. Oh, from what now?
- 45:20Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 45:21Speaker 2: I've seen like two episodes or so.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Look, there's lots of things you said there that I'm
- 45:29Speaker 1: not going to repeat. That was brilliant. Look, I think about...
- 45:37Speaker 1: obviously that was way hornier than what Jay said, but
- 45:40Speaker 1: I gave Jay the five out of five points for
- 45:42Speaker 1: the sake of a conceit and making this close in
- 45:44Speaker 1: the quickfire round. Can I give you four? Yeah, sure.
- 45:47Speaker 1: I feel like I have been called out.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Well, I would, I mean, I thought if you hadn't
- 45:55Speaker 2: gone that way, I probably would have gone that way. So,
- 45:58Speaker 2: You kind of forced me the other direction, which is fine. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 46:02Speaker 2: I need to be kind of pushed outside my limits sometimes.
- 46:07Speaker 2: Never said any of those words on this stage.
- 46:09Speaker 1: I'm happy I could challenge you.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you. I appreciate that about you, Jay.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Angry men. Okay, so next up, Jen is going to
- 46:18Speaker 1: select a demon from the cake.
- 46:20Speaker 3: What's that?
- 46:21Speaker 1: Jed, you like horror things, sci-fi things, demon things, and
- 46:25Speaker 1: stuff like that, so you should be in your wheelhouse
- 46:26Speaker 1: with this kind of thing, right?
- 46:27Speaker 3: Yeah, both silhouettes are very intriguing.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Okay.
- 46:30Speaker 3: My main concern from just right now is there are
- 46:34Speaker 3: two cords.
- 46:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Jen's got you. Which one would you like?
- 46:39Speaker 3: The one on this side. Thank you. Yeah, two cords,
- 46:41Speaker 3: zero coordination.
- 46:42Speaker 1: But thank you, Jen's got it for me.
- 46:43Speaker 3: Appreciate you.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Nice.
- 46:45Speaker 1: All right. It takes a Jen to know a Jen.
- 46:48Speaker 1: Look at your demon.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Okay, this is the bulky one.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Oh my God. Is it who you thought it was?
- 46:54Speaker 3: It's my husband. No, no, but I'm pleasantly surprised.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Fantastic. Okay, Jen, your description of your attractiveness to this,
- 47:01Speaker 1: the hear me out of this demon begins now.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Okay, hear me out.
- 47:05Speaker 1: It's Hellboy.
- 47:07Speaker 7: First of all, gigantic, very muscular.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Also.
- 47:11Speaker 3: With the temper a little bit.
- 47:13Speaker 7: But from what I could tell from the movies, he
- 47:15Speaker 7: treated his woman very gently, and there's something so hot
- 47:19Speaker 7: about that juxtaposition, however you pronounce it, where they're just
- 47:22Speaker 7: like big and tough, get you, get you, get you.
- 47:24Speaker 7: Then they're like sweet and gentle with their woman, hot
- 47:27Speaker 7: as fuck, and he's just rock hard all around.
- 47:33Speaker 3: I'm not saying no to any of that.
- 47:36Speaker 7: And obviously he's just like big and strong, And he
- 47:40Speaker 7: was actually pretty articulate for the big, strong, bulky man,
- 47:44Speaker 7: you know?
- 47:44Speaker 3: Because there's that stereotype where they're not so smart.
- 47:47Speaker 1: But he seems really smart. And he's played by Ron Perlman.
- 47:50Speaker 3: Who's also kind of hot.
- 47:51Speaker 1: That's your time. Yeah, Ron Perlman absolutely.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Is.
- 47:55Speaker 3: I'm going to keep this.
- 47:57Speaker 1: That's yours. That's a keepsake. Yeah, because I'm definitely keeping Gino. Jen,
- 48:02Speaker 1: that was fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing your
- 48:04Speaker 1: hear me out. I'm glad it turned out to be
- 48:06Speaker 1: your actual husband.
- 48:07Speaker 3: I feel like I revealed a lot about myself.
- 48:09Speaker 1: And some of it was similar to what Megan said.
- 48:12Speaker 1: So I'm also going to give you four points. I'd
- 48:16Speaker 1: give her five, honestly. I would give me five, too.
- 48:18Speaker 1: I would also give her five.
- 48:20Speaker 2: I thought myself a little turned on by just what
- 48:22Speaker 2: she was saying.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Five, five, five, five, five. The crowd has spoken, and
- 48:27Speaker 1: also you did ask to take it home as well,
- 48:29Speaker 1: whereas Megan didn't do that.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Oh, I was just going to take it because I'm
- 48:33Speaker 2: hot and disrespectful.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Okay, that'll be five points.
- 48:38Speaker 2: Yay!
- 48:41Speaker 9: Thank you.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Okay, last but not least, selecting a demon from the
- 48:44Speaker 1: cake is going to be Audra. Ooh, which one? You've
- 48:46Speaker 1: kind of got no choice.
- 48:47Speaker 3: Yeah, ooh, hard choice.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Everybody go!
- 48:51Speaker 8: Take the Garfield slice, just take the cake instead of
- 48:55Speaker 8: the cake.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Ooh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 48:58Speaker 5: Yeah!
- 48:59Speaker 8: Yes!
- 49:00Speaker 3: That was both hot and disrespectful.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Yes.
- 49:03Speaker 5: Yes.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Loophole. Would you like to take a look at your demon?
- 49:08Speaker 1: I would love to.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Oh!
- 49:11Speaker 1: Are you familiar with this demon?
- 49:13Speaker 5: We're about to get real familiar.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Hell yeah. All right, with that, your 45 seconds begins now.
- 49:20Speaker 5: Look at this guy and his devilish grin. You know
- 49:24Speaker 5: he's got plans. And Jen said that hers was her husband.
- 49:28Speaker 5: This is not my husband, but there can be something
- 49:31Speaker 5: so beautiful in a one, two, three, three-night stand. I
- 49:38Speaker 5: think that there can be something incredibly beautiful and erotic
- 49:44Speaker 5: about this. He's so slender. What that staff do, I'm
- 49:52Speaker 5: not going to tell. God, everybody, everybody needs to have
- 49:56Speaker 5: a fling with a twink. Just as a treat. Just
- 50:01Speaker 5: as a little bit of a treat.
- 50:04Speaker 1: Yum. That's your time. Finishing on yum. What that staff do.
- 50:14Speaker 1: You'll never know. Enjoy your three night, one night stance.
- 50:21Speaker 1: That was fantastic. You had the toughest job of getting
- 50:24Speaker 1: the last selection there, but I think you did an
- 50:26Speaker 1: excellent job of that. I'm going to give you four
- 50:27Speaker 1: out of five points because I think we all know
- 50:29Speaker 1: what game I'm playing at this point. Fantastic. Oh, I
- 50:35Speaker 1: was about to say we can all have a slice
- 50:37Speaker 1: of cake, but Audra took it. I did it for
- 50:40Speaker 1: the bit.
- 50:41Speaker 5: Everyone can have some cake.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Cake, cake, cake, cake, cake.
- 50:47Speaker 5: The first was harder than I thought. Oh, no.
- 50:50Speaker 1: I thought I was really going to get something there.
- 50:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't get that on the early show. You shouldn't. Okay,
- 51:05Speaker 1: that is the end of round three. Producer Jen, can
- 51:08Speaker 1: you please hunt down the latest scores?
- 51:10Speaker 2: See what you did there.
- 51:14Speaker 9: Yeah, we are.
- 51:19Speaker 3: We're gaining. We're gaining. We're gaining.
- 51:24Speaker 5: No frosting near the puppets, I solemnly swear.
- 51:26Speaker 1: That spot. A bulletproof Boy Scout. Yeah. Bangtan Sonyeondan.
- 51:34Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what BTS is.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Bulletproof Boy Scout. Oh, damn. That might actually genuinely come
- 51:40Speaker 1: in handy in the quickfire round. Sorry. Because it can
- 51:43Speaker 1: all change in the quickfire round. That five-point lead could disappear.
- 51:46Speaker 1: We're about to do it, yes.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Oh, she got stood up.
- 51:50Speaker 3: I brought my thinking cap because this would get hard
- 51:53Speaker 3: as fuck.
- 51:54Speaker 1: I'll get him.
- 51:56Speaker 7: Stand up.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Yes. Let's go. So ready for the quickfire round. Oh
- 52:07Speaker 1: my God. Okay. Let's go. Cap, cap, cap, cap, cap, cap.
- 52:13Speaker 1: The chant ended up enthusiastic, but it started so half-hearted.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Before we get to the final quickfire round, I want
- 52:22Speaker 1: to spotlight our mystery prize here tonight.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 52:27Speaker 1: The winning team, thank you so much. The winning team
- 52:29Speaker 1: will walk away with that. No expense has been spared.
- 52:32Speaker 1: It is, look, it's been really shit puns. Like, all year.
- 52:37Speaker 1: I promise this is good. This is a really good one.
- 52:39Speaker 7: Okay.
- 52:40Speaker 1: I believe you. Yeah, it's fantastic. It's the best. I
- 52:43Speaker 1: don't believe you, piss hog. And with that, let's play
- 52:47Speaker 1: the quickfire round!
- 52:48Speaker 2: Woo!
- 52:55Speaker 1: Our final quickfire round will test our players' broader pop
- 52:58Speaker 1: culture knowledge. No, it won't. It'll test K-pop. And it's
- 53:01Speaker 1: called Punchlines, named after the K-pop singer Punch. You know that, Jay? Yeah, Punch.
- 53:08Speaker 4: That may have been before or after my time. Yep,
- 53:10Speaker 4: they seemed kind of old. I know rocket punch. That's
- 53:15Speaker 4: a completely different thing. Let's pretend that's the pun I made.
- 53:18Speaker 1: This game, I will give our players three setups to
- 53:22Speaker 1: a punchline, where that punchline is the name of a
- 53:25Speaker 1: K-pop group from the last 30 years. Oh boy. Oh,
- 53:28Speaker 1: and there is, of course, a classic Fandemonium twist. You
- 53:30Speaker 1: must deliver your answer with a piece of slick, pointing-based choreography,
- 53:35Speaker 1: or I can't give you the point. Megan is also
- 53:37Speaker 1: excused if Megan does not want to make movements and gestures.
- 53:41Speaker 2: I can point.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Okay, pointing's fine. I just, Fandemonium doesn't have the insurance
- 53:48Speaker 1: to cover any injuries.
- 53:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:50Speaker 2: The injury was not your doing.
- 53:53Speaker 1: Okay. You heard her. It's recorded. We've got it.
- 53:57Speaker 2: It's a pre-existing condition.
- 54:00Speaker 1: From an angry man. Oh my God. I'll never tell. Sorry,
- 54:07Speaker 1: it's almost 10 p.m. Okay, so it's quick fire. You
- 54:11Speaker 1: buzz in by yelling out your team name. Let's practice
- 54:13Speaker 1: that now.
- 54:14Speaker 5: Hi.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Hot hot hot dicks it's hot dicks um so for
- 54:20Speaker 1: example as a test just because i've said this quite
- 54:23Speaker 1: nebulously um here are your three setups to a punchline
- 54:27Speaker 1: that is the name of a k-pop group where the
- 54:29Speaker 1: president is banned from going at beauty pageants how i
- 54:33Speaker 1: drunkenly order a blt who turned being behind the scenes
- 54:37Speaker 1: into a music career.
- 54:40Speaker 8: Hot.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Yes, Megan.
- 54:41Speaker 2: BTS.
- 54:42Speaker 1: It is BTS, yeah.
- 54:43Speaker 2: Behind the scenes.
- 54:44Speaker 1: Behind the scenes. Okay. Okay, so yeah, it's going to
- 54:48Speaker 1: be a lot of that. Okay. So three setups where
- 54:53Speaker 1: the punchline for each of these should work. Because I
- 54:56Speaker 1: refuse to use AI, I spent too long writing these jokes.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Oh my God. Most of them. That's good.
- 55:02Speaker 2: So.
- 55:03Speaker 9: That's art.
- 55:04Speaker 5: That's art.
- 55:04Speaker 1: That's art. And with that, here's the quickfire round. As
- 55:11Speaker 1: a parent, what's the worst group of humans to supervise?
- 55:14Speaker 1: According to Jerry Seinfeld, what's the ideal age of a girlfriend? Yes, Audra.
- 55:20Speaker 5: 17.
- 55:21Speaker 3: It is 17.
- 55:22Speaker 1: That's a point for hot and disrespectful there. What color
- 55:27Speaker 1: is my mood ring when I'm depressed but fabulous? What's
- 55:30Speaker 1: the color scheme for Goth Barbie?
- 55:32Speaker 2: Heart.
- 55:33Speaker 1: God damn it. Yes, Megan. Black pink. It is indeed
- 55:36Speaker 1: black pink. I froze. I really want that thinking cap
- 55:41Speaker 1: to work. I know, me too. Who dominates His Highness?
- 55:48Speaker 1: What do you call Dominic Toretto in a crown? What's
- 55:51Speaker 1: a royal's favorite neighborhood?
- 55:54Speaker 3: Holy fuck, what?
- 55:56Speaker 1: What? If you don't know the K-pop artist, think of
- 55:59Speaker 1: what that could be the punchline for.
- 56:01Speaker 9: Heart.
- 56:02Speaker 1: Yes, Audra.
- 56:04Speaker 3: Kingtown.
- 56:05Speaker 1: It's not Kingtown? That's a good guess, though. Yes.
- 56:09Speaker 2: No?
- 56:10Speaker 1: No one knows this? Anyone in the audience know this one? Repeat. Okay.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Who dominates His Highness? What do you call Dominic Toretto
- 56:17Speaker 1: in a crown? What's a royal's favorite neighborhood? Heart. Yes, Audra.
- 56:27Speaker 1: Dom hat. Yes, the boy band Dom hat. No, we
- 56:32Speaker 1: were looking for the kingdom. The kingdom. Oh, King Dom.
- 56:36Speaker 1: The King Dom. The King Dom. Okay, next one. Yeah,
- 56:39Speaker 1: we're going to have so many of these noises. Who
- 56:42Speaker 1: is the Trump administration always rounding up in the back
- 56:44Speaker 1: of vans? Which... Yes, Megan. Stray Kids. It is Stray Kids.
- 56:50Speaker 1: All right, that's all the bands I know. What did
- 56:56Speaker 1: the geneticist want for their birthday? What's it called when
- 57:00Speaker 1: you leave the tags on Hackman, Kelly, and Wilder? What
- 57:04Speaker 1: do you call fresh denim? Can you repeat that?
- 57:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 57:12Speaker 1: What did the geneticist want for their birthday? What's it
- 57:16Speaker 1: called when you leave the tags on Hackman, Kelly, and Wilder? Hot?
- 57:20Speaker 4: Yes.
- 57:21Speaker 1: New jeans? It's new jeans.
- 57:22Speaker 4: Good stuff.
- 57:22Speaker 8: God damn it.
- 57:27Speaker 1: Okay, next one. What's it called when two giants fuck?
- 57:33Speaker 1: Without the theory, what are you left with? How does
- 57:36Speaker 1: the universe make an entrance?
- 57:40Speaker 3: Dicks?
- 57:40Speaker 1: Yes, Jen. Big Bang? It's Big Bang! What do I
- 57:46Speaker 1: wear in my hair when I'm depressed? What does the
- 57:51Speaker 1: sky make after it cries? What can you be both over...
- 57:56Speaker 1: And under. Dicks.
- 57:58Speaker 2: Yes.
- 57:58Speaker 1: Let's give John a bonus point for that. That was fantastic.
- 58:07Speaker 7: A rainbow.
- 58:07Speaker 1: It is rainbow. Which infant ate the last cookie? What's small, adorable,
- 58:15Speaker 1: and terrifying? What do you call Mike Wazowski's newborn child?
- 58:21Speaker 4: Oh, dick.
- 58:22Speaker 1: Yeah, dicks. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Jay.
- 58:24Speaker 5: No.
- 58:27Speaker 1: Baby Monster. It is Baby Monster. Good stuff. What are
- 58:32Speaker 1: you doing when you snap a photo of Miss Cash?
- 58:35Speaker 1: When you're out of bananas, what does a minion want
- 58:38Speaker 1: to eat? What fruit is always ready to agree? Repeat
- 58:46Speaker 1: it is. What are you doing when you snap a
- 58:48Speaker 1: photo of Miss Cash? Ignore that one. When you're out
- 58:52Speaker 1: of bananas, what does a minion want to eat? What
- 58:55Speaker 1: fruit is always ready to agree? Pot. Yes, Audra. Eager banana.
- 59:07Speaker 1: I'm so confused. It's not. eager banana, funnily enough.
- 59:11Speaker 8: Hot.
- 59:12Speaker 1: Yes, Audra. People-pleasing peach. Anyone who got this one? Audience
- 59:18Speaker 1: as well? Orange something. I like orange something. The answer
- 59:23Speaker 1: was papaya.
- 59:24Speaker 5: Papaya.
- 59:25Speaker 1: I've never heard of it. Papaya. They're agreeing? Papaya. And
- 59:32Speaker 1: then Minions always said banana. I don't have to explain
- 59:34Speaker 1: my jokes to you. Okay, these three, actually, these three
- 59:39Speaker 1: are good. I'll be the judge of that. What was
- 59:45Speaker 1: my review of the fruit salad? How did Hallie feel
- 59:49Speaker 1: after winning the Academy Award? And how did the strawberry
- 59:52Speaker 1: do on its report card? I think we're gonna have
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: to go to the audience for this one I'm hearing
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: I'm hearing it a lot as one very good it's
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: very good one point to the audience they're catching up
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: One point, one point, one point. There's still, there's two
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: questions left. You've got time to maybe catch up. What
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: do you call a storm with stage presence? What do
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: you call a royal downpour? What's the weather forecast for
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: a Prince concert?
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: Hot.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: Dicks.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: I heard hot before dicks. Purple rain. It is purple rain.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Good stuff. And quick before the buzzer, what does Carl
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: strike when he has an extra S? What do you
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: call a group of Jungian outlaws? What do you call
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: a group of child cowboys who wander into town?
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: Dicks?
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: Yes, Jen?
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: Shit kickers?
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: I love it, but it's not right. Say them again,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: say them again. I'm not going to do the first one.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: First one is a stretch.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: What do you call a group of Jungian outlaws? What
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: do you call a group of child cowboys who wander
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: into town?
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: What?
- 1:01:31Speaker 9: Dicks?
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: Audience?
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Oh, dicks?
- 1:01:33Speaker 7: She said dicks.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: Baby ranchers?
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Oh, that's a good guess. It's not baby ranchers. Audience?
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: Right?
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Baby banjo? It's not, I'm afraid. We were looking for
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: Young Posse.
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: Oh, fuck.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: There is a K-pop group called Young Posse. That's the buzzer. Okay,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: before we get to the final scores, I'd like to
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: thank our players. You've all been K, but you really popped.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: Thank you. Jen, you are heading back to New York
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: this fall with a run of your play, The Pool.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Why don't you let everyone know when they can come
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: and see you and then how they can support you
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: and your journey from a distance?
- 1:02:14Speaker 8: Yes, thank you.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: Although this is kind of serious. I don't need the thinking.
- 1:02:19Speaker 7: Cap for this okay so I wrote and acting to
- 1:02:21Speaker 7: play we've done we debuted in Denver we've done Colorado
- 1:02:25Speaker 7: Springs and now we're going back to New York City
- 1:02:27Speaker 7: for eight shows the only bitch about that is we
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: have to pay our own way to get there and
- 1:02:32Speaker 7: I can't afford that so there's a QR code up
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: front if you would be so kind or to let
- 1:02:38Speaker 7: your sugar daddy know whatever you want to do but
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: please help us get back to New York City thank you.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Isn't it in pretty close proximity to Broadway?
- 1:02:49Speaker 7: It's exactly one block away from Broadway.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: That's pretty good. I will also put a link for
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: the donation link in the show notes of this podcast.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: If you're watching or listening at home, please do support
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: local independent theater. If you all trust my voice, I
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: promise that that's what this is. Give it up for
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Jen one more time. She's been fantastic tonight. Jay and Jen,
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: but Jay, I'm going to come to you for the plug.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: You are both members of the improv group Pretendium. Where
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: can our listeners follow Pretendium online and where can folks
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: in Colorado Springs come and see you?
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: So, uh, you can follow pretendium on Instagram at pretendium.improv.
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: Do not follow my personal Instagram. It is private and
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: I do not wish to be perceived.
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: Um, but dicks, cunt dicks.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Yeah.

- 1:04:30Speaker 7: The second Saturday of every month starting next month.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: Which means nothing at the time of this recording.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Yeah. But as I'm being told, there are people in
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: the room as well, so. Megan, you are one of
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: my favorite improvisers and I still think Toon Titans is
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: the best kept secret in Colorado Springs and that everyone
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: should come and see it. Where can folks get tickets?
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: When can they come and see you? And have you
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: got any promos for Peak Improv in general or Collective Groove,
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: the band you're in?
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Yes, we've got classes starting up in September. And, yeah,
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: Tune Titans love doing improvised musicals. Also, Stick Horses, our
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: family-friendly show, which is free to the public. It's a
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: pay-what-you-want sort of model. And then, of course, Felty and Friends,
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: which we had earlier tonight. love doing all of those
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: and yeah my band Collective Groove we're playing Stargazers on
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: August 22nd and then my birthday August 27th you guys
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: are all invited everyone who's listening to this podcast is
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: invited to my birthday party it's at Acacia Park 6-8pm
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: and then we're coming back here for an ice cream
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: surprise party afterwards.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: Nice yeah is the ice cream flavor a surprise? I'll
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: never tell. Fantastic. Give it up for Megan. Please check
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: out all of the links in the show notes. Support
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: our players. They've been absolutely hilarious. They've made me laugh
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: so much. Do support their creative projects.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: I forgot to say peakimprov.com.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: Peakimprov.com.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Peakimprov.com.
- 1:06:12Speaker 8: Peakimprov.com.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: Peakimprov.com. Oh, you're right.
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: It works.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: Oh, and then it's collectivegroove.band. Oh, that's smart. Get the dot. Yeah.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: Dot. Groove.band.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: Fantastic. I think we're ready for those final scores, Jen.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: We got stomped. We got fucking stomped, bro.
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: I should have put the thing you kept on earlier.
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: It's fine.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: All right, audience, I want to hear it.
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: One point.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: One point.
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: One point.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: One point. One point.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: You're amazing.
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: One on the board.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Jane, Jen, cunt dicks.
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: Ended on 29.
- 1:07:04Speaker 9: But I also gave them an extra point because they
- 1:07:06Speaker 9: did hit the gate leaper's curse, which I do think
- 1:07:08Speaker 9: deserves one point. It is a curse for any person
- 1:07:11Speaker 9: who really enjoys the thing that you are on to lose.
- 1:07:15Speaker 9: So it's one point.
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: One point.
- 1:07:20Speaker 9: But hot and disrespectful. Ended on 35 points.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: And get the golden box.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Hot and disrespectful win! What could it be? What could
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: it be? What have we got in there? What is it? Oh,
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: it's heavy. Yeah, it is. It's two cans of K-pop!
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: It's K-pop! This has been Fandemonium.
- 1:07:50Speaker 8: Thank you so much for coming to see us live.
- 1:07:52Speaker 8: Give yourselves a round of applause. Check out the first.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Five seasons of this show wherever you get your podcasts.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Make some noise for producer Jen on Scores. Woo! Michael
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: Strobo up front.
- 1:08:03Speaker 8: Give it up for producer Chris in the booth. Thank
- 1:08:06Speaker 8: you to the Peak Improv Theatre. This has been a
- 1:08:07Speaker 8: Lilypad production for iHeartRadio and the internet. Thank you and
- 1:08:10Speaker 8: good night!
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: Sorry, mum. What a rowdy show. Oh my goodness. I
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: loved our players. I loved how they played the games.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: I love the peak improv audience. That audience is just
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: the best room in the world. I will defend it
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: till I die. Thank you so much for listening to
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: this episode of Fandomonium. It means the world. Do share
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: this episode with the K-pop fan in your life who's
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: comfortable with the C-bomb. It was brilliant to finally do
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: the world's most popular fandom as of the 2020s. Come
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: see us live. We have three more shows before the
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: end of the year. You can be part of that
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: rowdy crowd you just heard. We have some very exciting...
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: news about everything Fandemonium and Lillipad Productions coming very soon.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: 2027 is going to be even bigger than this year.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: And before I bid you farewell for another two weeks,
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: I have the absolute honour of thanking our wonderful Games
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: Master Patrons. who support us at patreon.com forward slash gateleapers
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: at the highest tier. Here is your special K-pop themed
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: thank you. Ash and Adam, thank you so much. I
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: know this is audio only, so you can't actually see
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: what I'm doing right now, but I'm holding up my
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: thumb and my index finger like in the shape of
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: a heart, as the K-pop idols would do. Thank you
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: so much. Justin Dodberg, thank you so much for your support.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: I'm You can't actually see because, you know, this is audio,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: but I'm actually holding up my thumb and my fore... No,
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: my index finger in the shape of a K-pop heart.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: It's what the kids do. Thank you. Derek and Taylor,
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: thank you so much. It's hard for you to see
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: because my camera's not on right now, but I am
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: indeed holding up a K-pop heart for each of you.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: One in each hand. There we go. Thank you. Aaron Randolph,
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: thank you so much for your continued support of the
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: madness we produce here. I am actually, in fact, holding
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: up a K-pop heart just for you. It is my
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: thumb and my index finger. Or was it my forefinger? No,
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: index finger, that's correct. Thank you, Kristen Farley. Thank you
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: so much for your support. This might come as a
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: surprise to you, but I'm actually holding up my thumb
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: and my index finger in the shape of a dime. No,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: wrong suit. In the shape of a heart. Just for you.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Thank you so much, Kristen. Troy Davidson, thank you so
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: much for your support in real life and via the Patreon.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: I know you won't be expecting this, but I am
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: holding up a K-pop heart just for you, especially for you.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: It is my thumb and my index finger. There we go.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: and to the entire cast of the Team Up Play
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Show podcast. I don't have four hands, but what I
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: will do for you is two hands twice, because that
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: equals four. So, two thumbs, two forefingers, put them away.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: Two thumbs, two forefingers, yet again. Four hearts. Love you.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: And Corbin Stein, I am holding up my thumb and
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: my forefinger especially for you. I've not done it for
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: anyone else yet. I thought I'd make a change and
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: make this K-pop gesture just to say thank you for
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: your support. Ivan Grossman, thank you so much for supporting Fandemonium.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: Got a little special treat for you. Might come as
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: a little surprise, but just in my pocket here, I
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: have my thumb and my forefinger in the shape of
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: a heart, or so they tell me. It's looking less
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: and less like a heart, but thank you. Matt Smith,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: thank you so much for your continued support of Fandemonium. Look,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: my hand's a heart. It's my thumb. It's my forefinger.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: And now that I think about it, the rest of
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: my hand has to kind of collapse in on itself,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: and it's actually making a realistic-looking heart shape. Maybe the
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: thumb and the forefinger are the valves. Yeah, maybe that's
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: what the K-pop folks are all about. And Shirley Stout,
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: thank you so much for your support. To match my
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: millennial ass, I'm actually giving you a traditional millennial heart
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: using both my thumbs and all of my fingers to
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: form the shape of a heart. Thank you so much
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: to our Games Masters. It means the world. Because of
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: your support, we get to make shows like this and
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: coming soon, a whole lot more comedy out of Lilypad Productions.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: With a whole bunch of talented people, we cannot wait
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: to share more details with you. But for now, thank
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: you so much for listening to this K-pop episode. We
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: will be back in two weeks with It's a Nick
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Cage Fandemonium. That's right. It's going to be wild. Thank
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: you for listening, LeapFrogs. Goodbye. This has been a Lilypad production.
