- 0:57Speaker1: introducing first our co-host. Mr. Brandon Larson in the building,
- 1:02Speaker1: y'all.
- 1:01Speaker0: Hey everybody, how's it going? Sure, how's it going, buddy? How you doing,
- 1:05Speaker0: man?
- 1:05Speaker1: I've been good, bro. I've been chilling, man.
- 1:07Speaker0: Oh good.
- 1:08Speaker1: I've been chilling,
- 1:10Speaker1: bro. It's been a fucking pretty good, um, eventful week and
- 1:14Speaker1: shit like that, man. Um, so let's see here, this past week,
- 1:19Speaker1: um, I don't know if I mentioned to you about the, um,
- 1:23Speaker1: oh, the stage play that I've been working on, like with Tony Roberts and all
- 1:25Speaker1: that stuff. We've been having like the rehearsals and stuff like that. So this past
- 1:28Speaker1: week we finally had our, um, a live rehearsal,
- 1:32Speaker1: whatever. So we had like people in attendance watching and stuff like that, and we
- 1:35Speaker1: ran through the whole entire, um, uh,
- 1:38Speaker1: set, skit, I don't know what you want to call it, and stuff like that.
- 1:41Speaker1: But it was, it was a dope experience. So what it was, it was we
- 1:46Speaker1: had 12— there was like 12 skits that we
- 1:50Speaker1: was acting out like as a stage play or whatever. So Tony Roberts, um,
- 1:54Speaker1: he's, you know, offside, off offstage or whatever,
- 1:58Speaker1: um, doing his stand-up bit or whatever. And then we're
- 2:02Speaker1: on, um, like on the stage just
- 2:06Speaker1: kind of like acting it out or whatever. Okay. Stuff like that. And then in
- 2:10Speaker1: between the skits, we're like doing,
- 2:13Speaker1: um, stand-up comedy and stuff like that to keep the people entertained and stuff like
- 2:16Speaker1: that.
- 2:16Speaker2: Nice. And so did people enjoy it?
- 2:18Speaker1: Oh, they said it was dope.
- 2:18Speaker1: They said it was dope. They said it was one— yeah, it was dope.
- 2:20Speaker1: It was definitely a different, um, a different experience, different take on stuff
- 2:24Speaker1: like that. So Um, hopefully we keep that rocking and we'll see where it goes
- 2:27Speaker1: from there.
- 2:28Speaker2: Cool, man.
- 2:29Speaker1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:30Speaker2: I had, uh, 5 days on
- 2:32Speaker2: set. They were pretty killer, but they were behind the camera this time.
- 2:35Speaker2: So I was a 2nd AC or assistant camera.
- 2:39Speaker2: So a lot of the job is like slating, you know,
- 2:43Speaker2: uh, scene 1 alpha, take 2 marker, you know,
- 2:46Speaker2: and then you walk away. But, uh, you do a lot more than just that.
- 2:50Speaker2: So I learned a lot about camera. And I think that's good, you know,
- 2:53Speaker2: being an actor to like, you know, sometimes step behind the camera and see
- 2:58Speaker2: like how they do things. So I think being open to that is going to
- 3:01Speaker2: get you more work in the industry. And so that's why I like
- 3:05Speaker2: to keep an open mind.
- 3:06Speaker1: And what was the, um, what was the film?
- 3:08Speaker2: Uh, 7-Day Free Trial. It was shot here locally in
- 3:12Speaker2: Sacramento.
- 3:13Speaker1: Okay.
- 3:13Speaker2: Yeah,
- 3:14Speaker1: cool, cool, cool. And who was, um,
- 3:16Speaker1: um, What can you say about this film?
- 3:19Speaker2: Um, I would say—
- 3:21Speaker1: Or what did you do? What did you do on the
- 3:23Speaker1: film?
- 3:23Speaker2: Yeah, so I was behind the camera mostly and, um,
- 3:27Speaker2: you know, supporting camera departments. So if they needed batteries
- 3:31Speaker2: or anything, like, I, I did the comms,
- 3:34Speaker2: like the headsets for everybody, all the crew members.
- 3:38Speaker2: So yeah, just, just being open and available for the crew.
- 3:43Speaker2: I thought that was good because I got to meet a lot of the other
- 3:47Speaker2: actors, so get to see people coming from different states
- 3:52Speaker2: that flew out over here. And so I very much enjoyed
- 3:56Speaker2: that. It was hard work though, I'm not gonna lie to you. These are long
- 3:59Speaker2: days.
- 3:59Speaker1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:00Speaker2: But I think just being open to
- 4:03Speaker2: learning more, because the best way to learn is when you get on set,
- 4:07Speaker2: right?
- 4:08Speaker1: Yeah.
- 4:09Speaker2: You're, you're not gonna— like,
- 4:11Speaker2: if you just think you're just only gonna be an actor,
- 4:14Speaker2: that's cool. But I think you've gotta like kind of be
- 4:18Speaker2: a little bit more open-minded to things. So that's the way I am. Like,
- 4:21Speaker2: seize any opportunity that you can get in the industry,
- 4:25Speaker2: whether it's a PA. I know you did some PA stuff yourself.
- 4:29Speaker1: No. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've done some PA work.
- 4:30Speaker2: And would you say that that's
- 4:32Speaker2: like helpful for you just to experience that once?
- 4:36Speaker2: if you're an actor, just to get it kind of under your belt, or—
- 4:40Speaker1: Yeah,
- 4:41Speaker1: no, yeah, I think most definitely, depending on, um,
- 4:44Speaker1: like what the, what the type of the project is or whatever it
- 4:48Speaker1: might be. Um, it's always good to, um, for networking, of course,
- 4:52Speaker1: just being on a film set, um, soaking up that energy.
- 4:55Speaker1: And then, um, it also just gives you a good appreciation. Like,
- 4:59Speaker1: let's say if the actor, you know, is what you mainly want to do or
- 5:01Speaker1: stuff, whatever, just seeing how Um, all the work that their crew puts
- 5:06Speaker1: into putting things together. Um, those are things that
- 5:09Speaker1: you kind of take in about, oh, okay, yeah, let me, let me make sure
- 5:12Speaker1: that when I come to set as an actor, whatever it may be, let me
- 5:15Speaker1: just come back, come there.
- 5:22Speaker2: For 10, 12 hours a day, you know, and there's
- 5:26Speaker2: not a lot of rest. You're, you're constantly hustling.
- 5:29Speaker1: Yeah,
- 5:29Speaker2: so
- 5:30Speaker1: yeah,
- 5:30Speaker2: yeah, yeah, but that's what I could say about it.
- 5:32Speaker1: No, yeah, it was cool.
- 5:33Speaker1: And then with the, um, with the, the whole, the, the, the, the, uh,
- 5:37Speaker1: the stage play or whatever. Yeah, so that was
- 5:41Speaker1: it. It was, it was cool. It was fun because like I got on board
- 5:44Speaker1: maybe about like a month and a half ago, so we've been doing— I've been
- 5:47Speaker1: doing rehearsals for like a month and a half or so.
- 5:49Speaker2: Oh wow.
- 5:49Speaker1: But everybody
- 5:50Speaker1: else who's been on it, they've been on it since like March or whatever,
- 5:53Speaker1: just kind of
- 5:54Speaker2: That's a long time,
- 5:56Speaker1: man. Yeah,
- 5:57Speaker1: yeah, just grind it, just put it out and stuff. I like that. So,
- 6:00Speaker1: um, finally, like, like building it up and stuff, all like that,
- 6:03Speaker1: you know, it, it's almost— it came together kind of like how I see it
- 6:07Speaker1: is like we— like you put together a joke or whatever. So they had it
- 6:10Speaker1: all like together, like, you know, in March, like, you know, okay, you know,
- 6:14Speaker1: premise, setup, punchline kind of thing or whatever. But then you kind of working it
- 6:17Speaker1: out like you treat like an open mic type of thing. Okay, we're working out
- 6:19Speaker1: here, let's work this out. Then now the joke starts to get stretched out And
- 6:21Speaker1: that's why, you know, it's kind of like how
- 6:25Speaker1: you say like March is a long time or whatever, but like when it first
- 6:28Speaker1: started it was maybe like 3 jokes or whatever, but now it's 12.
- 6:32Speaker2: Oh, nice, man.
- 6:32Speaker1: So you're just building it up.
- 6:34Speaker2: I got you.
- 6:35Speaker1: Yeah,
- 6:35Speaker1: yeah, yeah.
- 6:35Speaker2: And then you're getting that crowd reaction to kind of get—
- 6:39Speaker2: feel it out and see what works and what doesn't, right?
- 6:42Speaker1: Yeah,
- 6:42Speaker1: exactly, exactly. Yeah, yeah. So yeah, shout out to Tony Roberts, shout out to Marcus
- 6:46Speaker1: Manham for, um, uh, uh, uh, bringing me on board with that. So I'm excited
- 6:50Speaker1: to see where, where, where that goes and where that takes us and stuff like
- 6:54Speaker1: that. So yeah, I'm excited for you
- 6:55Speaker2: too.
- 6:55Speaker1: Yeah, I'm excited for that. And then,
- 6:57Speaker1: um, this past weekend, um, I did
- 7:00Speaker1: some background work for a TV show called— have you heard of The
- 7:03Speaker1: Audacity?
- 7:04Speaker2: I have.
- 7:05Speaker1: Okay, so yeah, they was filming that out of the,
- 7:07Speaker1: the, like, the Silicon Valley area
- 7:11Speaker1: and stuff like that for like 3 days out here and stuff all like that.
- 7:14Speaker1: So I did some background work on that.
- 7:15Speaker2: Nice.
- 7:15Speaker1: Uh, it was good. That was
- 7:17Speaker1: cool. That was fun to see a lot of, um, see a lot of familiar
- 7:20Speaker1: faces and stuff like that. See a lot of the Next Gen committee out there.
- 7:23Speaker1: Next Gen getting that work, shit. Yeah, shout out to Tina. Shout out to,
- 7:26Speaker1: uh, George. And there's somebody else too, but damn, I almost forgot.
- 7:30Speaker1: But my bad. But shout out to the Next Gen team.
- 7:33Speaker2: Absolutely.
- 7:33Speaker1: Yeah, yeah,
- 7:34Speaker1: yeah. Um, so that was it, man. Oh, they had some good-ass food too.
- 7:38Speaker2: They had some good-ass food.
- 7:38Speaker1: That was good. That was
- 7:41Speaker1: dope. They had some good-ass food.
- 7:42Speaker2: Because like for me, like when we did one
- 7:44Speaker2: battle after another, man, that food was so good.
- 7:48Speaker2: Like if I could have just been on for the whole shoot
- 7:53Speaker2: of the film just to eat the food and be background for, I would have
- 7:57Speaker2: loved it, man.
- 7:57Speaker1: Yeah.
- 7:57Speaker2: Just think of how many grocery bills you would have saved.
- 8:01Speaker1: Oh my word. Yeah. That's, that's, that's some of the best. That's what people don't
- 8:04Speaker1: understand. Like doing background work, like consistently, like one,
- 8:08Speaker1: it's a consistent paycheck. And 2, it's free.
- 8:11Speaker1: Not only just a free meal, it's 2 free meals a day.
- 8:14Speaker2: So I mean,
- 8:14Speaker2: I know actors that bring backpacks, man, and stuff their bags.
- 8:18Speaker1: Oh wait, no, we don't
- 8:22Speaker1: do that around here.
- 8:24Speaker2: This is,
- 8:26Speaker2: this is funny.
- 8:27Speaker1: I'm just playing for
- 8:31Speaker1: sure. But, uh, let's deep— let's dive into this episode,
- 8:34Speaker1: man. Let's dive into this episode right now. But before we do,

- 9:05Speaker1: you one. We'll get you one once you hit like your 20th episode. That—
- 9:07Speaker2: okay,
- 9:08Speaker2: that might be what it might be.
- 9:08Speaker1: That's what it might be.
- 9:10Speaker2: All right.
- 9:11Speaker1: It's funny, the show. But, uh, let me
- 9:14Speaker1: see here. Not that one.
- 9:19Speaker1: So right now, right now, right now, we got coming to the stage,
- 9:23Speaker1: it is— yep, time for some Yeah
- 9:30Speaker1: Buddy or Nobody. Sorry for the delay, y'all. It's been, it's been a minute,
- 9:32Speaker1: so I'm trying to get the, the kinks worked out. But yeah, it's time for,
- 9:35Speaker1: uh, Yeah Buddy or Nobody. You know what that is. That's where we go,
- 9:38Speaker1: uh, deep dive into some headlines, articles that
- 9:42Speaker1: we've seen, uh, just rummaging through on the internet. Uh, we bring
- 9:46Speaker1: it to light and see whether this is a good thing or a bad thing.
- 9:48Speaker1: Is this a yeah buddy or is this a nobody situation, you know what I'm
- 9:52Speaker1: saying? Um, so kicking off the whole
- 9:55Speaker1: yeah buddy or nobody segment of the show,
- 9:59Speaker1: in recent news, uh, The Batman Part 2
- 10:03Speaker1: starring Robert Pattinson had just recently, um,
- 10:07Speaker1: Picked up going into production, but they hit a stall. The director,
- 10:10Speaker1: Matt Reeves, he had to, uh, leave, depart the film.
- 10:13Speaker1: And now it was just recently announced that Steven Soderbergh,
- 10:17Speaker1: uh, was going to step in to finish directing Batman
- 10:21Speaker1: Part 2. So, uh, let's take a dive into this,
- 10:24Speaker1: man, because it's always very interesting when studios—
- 10:31Speaker1: This is where, you know, our you know,
- 10:35Speaker1: and corporate kind of collide and stuff like that.
- 10:38Speaker1: Because this is somebody's film, Matt Reeves's film, you know what I'm saying? Then,
- 10:41Speaker1: you know, because of some, uh, situation that made that happen,
- 10:45Speaker1: now he can't really, you know, complete the film on,
- 10:48Speaker1: you know, the studio's timeline or whatever. So now they have to step in and
- 10:52Speaker1: bring in another director. This is all— this is pretty interesting because DC
- 10:56Speaker1: did this before with, um, with the Justice League movie. with,
- 11:00Speaker1: um, with, um, Zack Snyder. Yeah, Zack Snyder.
- 11:03Speaker1: So they, so they just had something about that studio that they just have no
- 11:06Speaker1: problem with, like, you know, replacing directors and stuff like that. But how
- 11:11Speaker1: are you feeling about that news?
- 11:12Speaker2: I mean, it is kind of disappointing in
- 11:14Speaker2: a way because, I mean, I was really looking
- 11:19Speaker2: forward to this movie coming out because I'm a big Batman fan. So anytime
- 11:23Speaker2: Batman comes to the theaters, like, I'm there, like, you know. So it's just like
- 11:27Speaker2: delaying it. Yeah, for me it's like It just— it's
- 11:31Speaker2: a nobody for me because it's like,
- 11:35Speaker2: maybe it's gonna be better or maybe it might not
- 11:39Speaker2: be. So it's kind of like one of those flip of the coins, like if
- 11:42Speaker2: I'm Two-Face, you know, and I'm flipping my coin. I feel like that's what
- 11:46Speaker2: it's gonna be, is like we don't know, you know, if this is gonna change
- 11:50Speaker2: the dynamic for better or for worse. So it's
- 11:55Speaker2: really hard to know what's gonna happen with
- 11:59Speaker2: this, right? It's like, for me, it's more of just the delaying of
- 12:04Speaker2: it is— I don't think it's good to
- 12:07Speaker2: delay any movie,
- 12:10Speaker2: right? Like, for this type of reason, I can understand.
- 12:14Speaker2: But, you know, what are you— you've already done the pre-production
- 12:19Speaker2: from that business standpoint, and now you're in production,
- 12:22Speaker2: and now— how many months are going to be delayed, or is the director
- 12:27Speaker2: going to scrap some things that—
- 12:28Speaker1: Well, I think that's why they hired a director,
- 12:30Speaker1: so it doesn't delay it,
- 12:32Speaker2: right?
- 12:33Speaker1: You know, because if they— because
- 12:35Speaker1: they don't know when, um, Matt Reeves is going to return,
- 12:38Speaker1: so it could have been on an indefinite hold.
- 12:41Speaker2: True.
- 12:41Speaker1: You know, and then when
- 12:42Speaker1: you look at DC Studios and the whole restructuring with James Gunn,
- 12:46Speaker1: they have the, uh, The Batman, like James Gunn's Batman,
- 12:49Speaker1: coming, coming like out like the year, the year after that.
- 12:53Speaker1: So you kind of get those kind of those two things where the studio is
- 12:56Speaker1: all like, at this point we're like, we have to get the movie out.
- 12:59Speaker1: Yeah, we can't even try
- 13:02Speaker1: to push it back, you know. So I think that's just what the situation
- 13:06Speaker1: is with bringing in like the other director and, um, just hoping
- 13:10Speaker1: things work. But hopefully it doesn't turn out a situation like with the, with the
- 13:14Speaker1: Justice League movie, you know.
- 13:15Speaker2: That's what I was trying to get at because it
- 13:18Speaker2: you know, that whole parallel. Yeah, like what you're saying. And so
- 13:22Speaker2: that kind of does make me a little bit nervous in that respect.
- 13:25Speaker2: So I'm kind of leaning towards the nobody on this.
- 13:29Speaker1: Yeah, I mean, of course, it's never— excuse me— whenever,
- 13:32Speaker1: whenever a director gets replaced or something like that, it's never really— or a
- 13:37Speaker1: production gets put on hold, and, you know, this is where the conflict of,
- 13:41Speaker1: you know, a real-life situation that you can't really you
- 13:45Speaker1: can't really— you can't do nothing about it. Something that you can't— that's out of
- 13:48Speaker1: your hands, that's out of your control. But now a job is looking at you
- 13:51Speaker1: like, well, are you gonna show up or not? And it's like, you know,
- 13:54Speaker1: damn. And now you have— now you see somebody else essentially kind of running
- 13:58Speaker1: your business that you started, and you're just like, shit, man, don't run this
- 14:02Speaker1: into the ground, bro. So yeah, I'm gonna say— I'm gonna give that a— I'm
- 14:05Speaker1: gonna give that a, a nobody for me and stuff like that.
- 14:10Speaker1: Uh, um, would you almost just see rather than just scrap the movie?
- 14:13Speaker2: No, no, I want them to finish the movie, but I just don't
- 14:16Speaker2: want like major delay, any further major delays.
- 14:20Speaker2: Like we're waiting, like I was looking forward to Blade.
- 14:24Speaker1: Okay. Yeah.
- 14:25Speaker2: So like, I don't want it to turn into that where it's
- 14:28Speaker2: like, now we don't get to experience what was.
- 14:31Speaker2: No, I enjoyed the first one. I really liked the first one. And so
- 14:36Speaker2: I'm looking forward to the second one.
- 14:37Speaker1: No. Yeah, the first one was pretty good.
- 14:38Speaker1: I liked the first one. So yeah, Robert Pattinson did a pretty good job as,
- 14:42Speaker1: um, Batman. So I'd like to see what he does with the sequel. But like
- 14:46Speaker1: I said, after the sequel, that's probably it. That's probably a wrap for him as
- 14:48Speaker1: Batman.
- 14:48Speaker2: We'll see.
- 14:49Speaker1: No, yeah, that's probably right.
- 14:51Speaker2: You never know if you throw enough
- 14:52Speaker2: money at somebody.
- 14:53Speaker1: No, it's a wrap. They already got the— they already got the
- 14:55Speaker1: next, uh, they already got the next Batman lined up and all that stuff.
- 14:57Speaker1: They gonna see him in, um, the new Superman movie.
- 14:59Speaker2: Okay,
- 15:00Speaker1: so we'll see about that. And then, um, in other
- 15:04Speaker1: news, in other headline news, um, actress Selma Blair— you might have seen her in
- 15:09Speaker1: the movie like, um, um, Cruel Intentions and,
- 15:12Speaker1: um, Cruel Intentions. That's the
- 15:15Speaker1: one. That's the one I know. That's the one she's kissing Sarah Michelle Gellar.
- 15:19Speaker1: Uh, but, um, yeah, in this she's using
- 15:22Speaker1: her— she's using her mouth for something different this time around and shit. So,
- 15:25Speaker1: um, she was, uh, arrested on a flight
- 15:30Speaker1: because she had, um, a, a medical emergency and she
- 15:34Speaker1: ended up biting one of the flight attendants. Not only
- 15:37Speaker1: that, but also was trying to open up the door.
- 15:41Speaker2: That's crazy.
- 15:43Speaker2: Yeah, it's like you kind of wonder what was going on in that instance.
- 15:46Speaker2: Because I don't know too many people that would be in that situation
- 15:50Speaker2: to do just that.
- 15:52Speaker1: What do you do with that situation?
- 15:54Speaker2: Well, I mean, what if
- 15:55Speaker1: you're the— what do you do when you're the person
- 15:57Speaker1: on the thing and you just all of a sudden, and you just look at
- 16:00Speaker1: anybody else, this girl, Selma Blair, just bit somebody. And now she's literally
- 16:04Speaker1: trying to kill us all by opening up the damn door and stuff like that.
- 16:07Speaker1: And I don't know what it is about flights, man. Something about like, you know,
- 16:10Speaker1: airplanes and stuff like that. People, people freak out in the air.
- 16:13Speaker2: Well, I think if you know you're gonna do that or have it— I think
- 16:16Speaker2: you know that you're gonna do that. So maybe like, I don't think she's sedative
- 16:21Speaker2: or—
- 16:21Speaker1: I don't think she knew she was gonna do it. I don't think so.
- 16:24Speaker1: I think maybe she had a history, maybe like, like mental issues. I don't know.
- 16:27Speaker2: Okay.
- 16:27Speaker1: I mean, I don't know. I'm not diving into like that area and stuff
- 16:31Speaker1: like that, but like, um Um,
- 16:34Speaker2: but I just
- 16:34Speaker1: think
- 16:35Speaker1: it's
- 16:35Speaker2: interesting. Like, it's not a typical news report
- 16:39Speaker2: that you get, like somebody fighting a flight attendant.
- 16:41Speaker1: But you do.
- 16:43Speaker1: Maybe just not somebody who's famous, but you'll see it. You see it. You see
- 16:46Speaker1: videos all the time on like the internet, like Instagram or TikTok, and just people
- 16:50Speaker1: flipping out on air, like going crazy on airplanes.
- 16:52Speaker2: People—
- 16:53Speaker1: she just happens to be a celebrity, you know what I'm saying?
- 16:56Speaker1: But people go crazy on airplanes all the time.
- 16:58Speaker2: But biting, the biting aspect
- 17:01Speaker2: is just kind of out there to me. It's not like a typical news
- 17:05Speaker2: story that I read.
- 17:07Speaker1: Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson did it.
- 17:09Speaker2: I mean, yeah. I mean, so is this a yeah
- 17:14Speaker2: buddy or no buddy?
- 17:15Speaker1: I'm all for the biting. I'm a— I'm
- 17:18Speaker1: a— as long as she's, um, you know, sane and all that good stuff,
- 17:21Speaker1: I'm, I'm all for a good crazy headline every now and then. So I'm down
- 17:25Speaker1: for the biting, so I'll give, I'll give that a yeah, buddy, as long as
- 17:28Speaker1: she's mentally healthy and stuff like that.
- 17:30Speaker2: I'm a nobody if I'm getting
- 17:32Speaker2: bitten myself.
- 17:33Speaker1: Yeah, but I'll, I'll just sit back like the comedian in
- 17:36Speaker1: me would just be sitting back watching. I'm like, yo, this bitch just bit somebody.
- 17:38Speaker2: Well, actually, you know, now that I take that back, if I get a lawsuit,
- 17:43Speaker2: right, like I get maybe some money.
- 17:45Speaker1: Yeah, maybe actually then.
- 17:46Speaker1: Yeah, then you can make your, make your next movie and shit.
- 17:48Speaker2: All right,
- 17:50Speaker1: for sure. And then, um, going on to the next,
- 17:53Speaker1: next thing, uh, is some recognition.
- 17:56Speaker1: Um, Al Pacino was recently announced as
- 18:00Speaker1: the recipient for this year's SAG-AFTRA, aka the Actors Awards,
- 18:05Speaker1: Lifetime Achievement Award. So just want to give, um, a quick,
- 18:09Speaker1: um, shout out to Al Pacino, the legend in the game.
- 18:13Speaker1: He's— you know how many Oscars he was nominated for and lost?
- 18:27Speaker2: A lot. Woman. And so maybe not his best
- 18:31Speaker2: film, but certainly it was a great performance. So I'm excited
- 18:35Speaker2: for him that he's getting acknowledged.
- 18:37Speaker1: Yeah. So yeah,
- 18:38Speaker1: we'll just highlight that real quick. So we're definitely gonna give it a Yeah
- 18:42Speaker1: Buddy. to Al Pacino. Shout out to Al Pacino, uh,
- 18:46Speaker1: Lifetime Achievement Award. And let's get
- 18:49Speaker1: into, um, in other, in other news, other things going on.
- 18:54Speaker1: It was recently announced that The X-Files reboot, uh,
- 18:57Speaker1: was officially greenlit, uh, by Ryan— produced
- 19:01Speaker1: by Ryan Coogler's Proximity Media, um, going to be released
- 19:06Speaker1: on Hulu. Um, so shout out to Ryan Coogler's next
- 19:10Speaker1: project coming out right after Sinners. Excited to see, uh,
- 19:13Speaker1: what he does with X-Files, man. How you feel about X-Files?
- 19:16Speaker2: I'm excited. I'm a
- 19:17Speaker2: yeah buddy for this because the biggest thing is I actually enjoyed
- 19:20Speaker2: the old one, but I'm excited what Ryan's gonna do
- 19:24Speaker2: with this because he's gonna have a new take on it. They're not the same
- 19:28Speaker2: characters, so it's gonna be a total new spin. I'm excited
- 19:33Speaker2: to see what he's gonna do with it because after seeing Sinners with
- 19:37Speaker2: you, man. Like, that was like fantastic,
- 19:41Speaker2: right? And so like, that's what's got me so hyped for this because I
- 19:45Speaker2: think it's gonna be better than the one in the '90s.
- 19:48Speaker1: Yeah.
- 19:49Speaker2: And so you've got 2 new actors that I don't—
- 19:52Speaker2: I'm not super familiar with. You got Danielle Deadwyler and
- 19:56Speaker2: Himesh Patel. Those are the 2 lead actors in this.
- 20:00Speaker2: So yeah, I'm excited to see how they work together and what they do.
- 20:04Speaker1: No, yeah, I'm excited because Himesh, he was just in, um,
- 20:08Speaker1: I thought, wasn't he just in The Odyssey?
- 20:09Speaker2: Yes, he was.
- 20:10Speaker1: Yeah, he was in
- 20:11Speaker1: The Odyssey. And then, uh, and yeah, let me look, we'll see what she was
- 20:14Speaker1: up against. But I'm excited just to see, um, it'll be exciting to see what,
- 20:18Speaker1: what, what it looks like when, um, when aliens and Black people collide.
- 20:22Speaker1: That's what I was excited to see.
- 20:23Speaker2: But what's even cool about
- 20:26Speaker2: this is that, you know, Coogler wrote it, he's directed it,
- 20:30Speaker2: and he's producing it. So he's really putting himself involved
- 20:34Speaker2: with this project. And so I'm just excited to see
- 20:38Speaker2: what creativity he does with this,
- 20:41Speaker2: uh, this series, you know. I'm excited to see it.
- 20:45Speaker1: Oh, that's what I remember. I seen her in, um, The Harder They Fall on
- 20:48Speaker1: Netflix. That was a good-ass, um, uh, cowboy movie, Western movie.
- 20:51Speaker1: So yeah, um, shout out, shout out to, um, them.
- 20:54Speaker1: Shout out to Ryan Coogler.
- 20:56Speaker2: Absolutely.
- 20:57Speaker1: Yeah, I'm excited.
- 20:58Speaker1: I'm not really into aliens, but you know, I watch anything that Well, not necessarily
- 21:02Speaker1: aliens, but I'm not into— I never watched the original X-Files.
- 21:03Speaker2: Okay,
- 21:04Speaker1: so,
- 21:05Speaker1: um, Ryan Coogler doing it, that's something that'll probably draw me in, which is,
- 21:10Speaker1: which is good. He'll draw in a whole, a whole, whole new generation, a whole
- 21:13Speaker1: new audience, a whole new generation and stuff like that. And all I have to
- 21:15Speaker1: say, all it has to say is from the director and producer of Sinners,
- 21:18Speaker1: and people like, oh, we're gonna tune in. I wait to see what that first—
- 21:22Speaker1: I look— I wait to see what that first trailer looks like.
- 21:24Speaker2: Yes, me too.
- 21:25Speaker1: Yeah, we're gonna be on the lookout for that. We're definitely gonna have our Hulu
- 21:29Speaker1: subscription update, or at least our neighbors.
- 21:32Speaker2: That's a yeah,
- 21:33Speaker2: buddy for me. Maybe not for the subscription fee.
- 21:36Speaker1: Yeah, no, I'll take it. No, well, for Ryan, we'll do it. Yeah, Ryan will
- 21:39Speaker1: do it. So yeah, buddy for that one. And then what we got coming up
- 21:43Speaker1: down the pipeline is, is New York the
- 21:47Speaker1: new Hollywood? That's what the big question is going on
- 21:51Speaker1: right now. A recent article just announced that there's potential for
- 21:56Speaker1: New York to take over the—
- 22:00Speaker1: be the capital of moviemaking and filmmaking in
- 22:04Speaker1: America, United States. I, I personally don't really
- 22:07Speaker1: see that happen. I know the numbers are pretty close or whatever, but personally I
- 22:11Speaker1: don't really see that happening. But, um,
- 22:15Speaker1: shout out to New York
- 22:18Speaker2: for sure,
- 22:18Speaker2: man. Uh, I would say it's a nobody for me just because,
- 22:22Speaker2: you know, we live in California. California. I mean, it's cool for New York
- 22:26Speaker2: if you're hustling out there, you know, it's, it's a yeah buddy for you.
- 22:29Speaker2: But in this instance, um, you know, you got Miami
- 22:33Speaker2: Vice filming there, which I think is interesting,
- 22:36Speaker2: um, to film that there as opposed to here.
- 22:40Speaker2: Uh, so I'm—
- 22:41Speaker1: Or Miami.
- 22:42Speaker2: That's what I'm saying.
- 22:43Speaker2: Like, why not film it in Miami? I don't know, it's just a
- 22:47Speaker2: little odd to me. Uh, but I did read more, and the
- 22:51Speaker2: biggest thing is that they have uh,
- 22:53Speaker2: increased their sound stages since 2020.
- 22:57Speaker2: So they've increased, they've grown that number 43%.
- 23:01Speaker2: So they're growing that, right? Like, and they're making just
- 23:05Speaker2: as much money as California at this time, right now,
- 23:09Speaker2: presently. Right now. And they're saying that it's gonna
- 23:12Speaker2: overtake California just because it's like growing
- 23:16Speaker2: at such a rapid pace. So it's— I
- 23:20Speaker2: don't know if it's going to sustain
- 23:25Speaker2: because I think that California still has a stronghold
- 23:29Speaker2: here. And so I'm not sure if this one article
- 23:33Speaker2: is going to sway me either, buddy.
- 23:35Speaker1: So no, I mean, we're still number
- 23:37Speaker1: 1 on a down year,
- 23:38Speaker2: correct?
- 23:39Speaker1: You know, so that's
- 23:40Speaker1: the most important thing is that we're still number 1 on a down year.
- 23:43Speaker1: So if things is looking up, the tax incentives is going to start to change
- 23:47Speaker1: things. Now maybe work in LA will maybe start to dry up because of the
- 23:50Speaker1: merger, things are like that, but I don't see as far as like California
- 23:54Speaker1: as a whole— like, California is a big-ass state,
- 23:56Speaker2: correct?
- 23:56Speaker1: You know, it's— we're a
- 23:58Speaker1: big-ass state to just say we can't film anywhere
- 24:02Speaker1: outside of LA. So, um, I,
- 24:05Speaker1: I'll give it a nobody. Like, I don't think that's really gonna
- 24:09Speaker1: happen. So no, we, we're not gonna really trip off of that. Um,
- 24:14Speaker1: but, um, and last thing, last thing of the Yeah Buddy, Nobody segment,
- 24:17Speaker1: just something that we want to just touch on real quickly. We'll bring it up
- 24:20Speaker1: more as we get more information about it. Um, but talk about
- 24:24Speaker1: this new coalition, or I don't know what you want to call it, but it's
- 24:26Speaker1: the, uh, American Entertainment Alliance, which is basically a lot
- 24:30Speaker1: of the top agencies in LA are forming together
- 24:34Speaker1: to try to force the streaming companies to um,
- 24:39Speaker1: allocate 50% of their budget to independent distributions,
- 24:43Speaker1: independent productions, and stuff like that. And this is all kind
- 24:47Speaker1: of in retaliation to the merger and
- 24:52Speaker1: just basically everything that's been going on in LA, really, when you look at just
- 24:55Speaker1: how streaming has really taken a stronghold of everything, you know.
- 24:59Speaker2: And it's really just a promise, right? Like, nothing's solidified yet.
- 25:03Speaker2: Like, this is all promises that,
- 25:07Speaker2: you know, we're gonna do 4 movies a year and guarantee
- 25:11Speaker2: that for, you know,
- 25:15Speaker2: independent filmmakers. And, and so it's
- 25:20Speaker2: still— we still don't know, like, this. Yeah. We don't know how this is
- 25:23Speaker2: gonna unfold. But it'll be interesting to see how— what
- 25:28Speaker2: comes of this, I think.
- 25:29Speaker1: Yeah, I think it's definitely a sign
- 25:32Speaker1: of seeing just how many people in the industry
- 25:36Speaker1: were really against the merger,
- 25:40Speaker1: but it was just a lot of, you know, billionaires and they just said,
- 25:45Speaker1: we don't care, we're gonna do, do what we want to do. But yeah,
- 25:47Speaker1: I think this is really telling for just how people in
- 25:50Speaker1: the industry are, you know, now, uh, retaliating against
- 25:54Speaker1: the whole merger and what they're doing about that. So it's interesting.
- 25:59Speaker1: We'll see how that goes along. We'll, we'll follow that. We don't really have a
- 26:02Speaker1: yeah, buddy. Well, I'll give it a yeah, buddy just for them doing it,
- 26:04Speaker1: just for them doing that. We'll give that a yeah, buddy and stuff like that.
- 26:08Speaker1: And then so, uh, for the next segment we got coming up,
- 26:12Speaker1: it is now time for, uh, the box office or
- 26:16Speaker1: bombs. This is where we go through and we break down
- 26:20Speaker1: the box office, see who was number 1, 2, 3, 4,
- 26:23Speaker1: 5. And then we make our predictions to see who's
- 26:27Speaker1: going to come out on top this upcoming weekend at the box office. And this
- 26:31Speaker1: big— this, this past weekend we had, uh, the newcomer Street Fighter
- 26:35Speaker1: debuted at number 1, uh, debut to— was
- 26:39Speaker1: about $31 million. $31 million. $31 million, yep, US.
- 26:42Speaker1: $51 million, uh, worldwide. Uh, the surprising
- 26:46Speaker1: one that came in at number 2 was that the
- 26:50Speaker1: documentary about— I think it was like Elizabeth Holmes. uh,
- 26:54Speaker1: $15 million.
- 26:55Speaker2: Yeah,
- 26:55Speaker1: yeah. What was the name of it again? I gotta go back
- 26:57Speaker1: and see the name. Let me Google it right now. I got
- 27:01Speaker2: it.
- 27:01Speaker2: But yeah, no, it's—
- 27:02Speaker1: oh yeah, that's right, You Can See Everything. So yeah,
- 27:04Speaker1: so Street Fighter came in at number 1. You Can See Everything,
- 27:07Speaker1: the documentary about Elizabeth Holmes, came in at number 2 with $15 million.
- 27:12Speaker1: Uh, The Other Mommy dropped from number 1 to number
- 27:16Speaker1: 3 with $8.3 million. And then the one that was, I guess you
- 27:19Speaker1: consider the flop, or the, the, the bomb this past weekend
- 27:24Speaker1: was Whalefall, the movie about the dude who gets swallowed by the whale. That movie
- 27:27Speaker1: only debuted to $8 million. Another
- 27:31Speaker2: Digger.
- 27:32Speaker1: Another Digger. That's what I would, um—
- 27:35Speaker2: well, yeah, it was about
- 27:37Speaker2: the same money.
- 27:37Speaker1: It was— yeah, it's about— it's, it's, it's interesting how much,
- 27:41Speaker1: like, when these original films come out
- 27:45Speaker1: Like, we don't really support them, but they don't really do well.
- 27:49Speaker1: But then we get mad, like, talk about original content, original content. Maybe they just
- 27:52Speaker1: need to leave original content up to independent creators,
- 27:56Speaker1: right? And then they could just worry about the big IPs and, and all
- 28:00Speaker1: that jazz. Just let us have the original content. I don't know, but I think
- 28:03Speaker1: it's just about, like, knowing how to market it. But that's not really what it's
- 28:06Speaker1: about. Street Fighter, it's all about Street Fighter. We don't, we don't care about number
- 28:10Speaker1: 5. If you're not first, you're last. Exactly.
- 28:13Speaker1: So
- 28:13Speaker2: Ricky Bobby,
- 28:14Speaker1: Ricky Bobby, baby. So Street Fighter.
- 28:25Speaker2: Yeah, I want to check it out because I grew up with the
- 28:29Speaker2: video game as a kid. So it's cool that they're
- 28:32Speaker2: doing a lot. I've noticed now with, you know,
- 28:36Speaker2: Resident Evil and now Street Fighter, they're you know,
- 28:39Speaker2: making video games now into movies. And they've been
- 28:42Speaker2: doing that for a while, but, uh, this definitely has
- 28:46Speaker2: me excited to want to see it.
- 28:47Speaker1: Yeah.
- 28:48Speaker2: And I think it's going to continue.
- 28:50Speaker1: What?
- 28:51Speaker2: I think Street Fighter is going to continue to do well in the
- 28:55Speaker2: box office.
- 28:56Speaker1: I saw it. I thought it was— I thought it was so good.
- 28:58Speaker1: I thought it was a good popcorn movie. Story-wise, it was— there's a lot of—
- 29:01Speaker1: not actually a lot of problems, but they were just trying to do like too
- 29:04Speaker1: much in that movie. They was just trying to put Too many, too many characters,
- 29:08Speaker1: too many different storylines, and then to try to like make them all connect
- 29:13Speaker1: like in the third act and stuff like that, it was, um, it was a
- 29:16Speaker1: lot to jumble around. I was just all like— but it was, it was action-wise,
- 29:21Speaker1: it wasn't as— it didn't— the action scenes, the fight scenes were not
- 29:25Speaker1: as good as Mortal Kombat.
- 29:27Speaker2: Oh wow.
- 29:27Speaker1: But that's because Mortal Kombat
- 29:28Speaker1: tends to like— is, is R-rated, so they could do all that type of stuff.
- 29:32Speaker1: Um, story— storyline-wise,
- 29:37Speaker1: said they had a lot of problems. If they was able to kind of,
- 29:40Speaker1: um, pick one storyline, because a lot— all the storylines was pretty interesting,
- 29:43Speaker1: but if they was able to just hone in on one, maybe two,
- 29:47Speaker1: um, that probably would have made it easier to
- 29:51Speaker1: watch. Because yeah, the fight scenes weren't that really, um,
- 29:54Speaker1: weren't really that exciting compared to like a Mortal Kombat.
- 29:59Speaker1: But, um, yeah, no, so yeah, Mortal Kombat was, um, at, at $51
- 30:04Speaker1: million this upcoming, this upcoming weekend. It's, uh, this is like
- 30:08Speaker1: the big weekend before Halloween weekend, so you know, it's horror movies, horror movies,
- 30:11Speaker1: horror movies. The big movie coming out this weekend
- 30:15Speaker1: is the new DC movie Clayface.
- 30:19Speaker1: Um, it's a horror super—
- 30:24Speaker1: not superhero, but it takes, it takes place in the whole Batman universe
- 30:29Speaker1: and stuff like that. So if people's not familiar with Clayface, he's a Batman villain,
- 30:32Speaker1: um, and this just basically gives his backstory, how he becomes
- 30:36Speaker1: a villain. And I don't know, how you feeling about
- 30:40Speaker1: this movie?
- 30:40Speaker2: I was gonna ask you about it too, because I mean,
- 30:43Speaker2: it could go either way, right?
- 30:45Speaker1: It could go either way.
- 30:46Speaker2: It is Halloween,
- 30:47Speaker2: so you're coming out with the horror movie, so you have that aspect
- 30:52Speaker2: of it. But then the other thing is, is that going to draw
- 30:56Speaker2: enough people, Clayface alone?
- 30:58Speaker1: Yeah, yeah. So it
- 31:00Speaker1: doesn't matter whether it's a good movie or not. It's just, it's like what,
- 31:04Speaker1: what Sony does with Spider-Man,
- 31:07Speaker2: right?
- 31:07Speaker1: Whenever they,
- 31:08Speaker1: they have all those, those, those, those movies that come out that
- 31:13Speaker1: take place in the Spider-Man universe with these Spider-Man villains, and but there's no Spider-Man
- 31:16Speaker1: to be seen. Like, I was in Venom,
- 31:20Speaker1: but Venom was bad. That, you know, say that the character
- 31:25Speaker1: Venom was cool, but the movies weren't that good,
- 31:26Speaker2: right?
- 31:26Speaker1: It's hard to tell a
- 31:28Speaker1: Venom storyline without Spider-Man for— to a main audience, you know.
- 31:32Speaker1: Of course Venom has his own comic book, his own comic book lore, but to—
- 31:36Speaker1: for a wide audience and stuff like that, you can't tell
- 31:39Speaker1: Venom without Spider-Man. Hey, we're not even gonna get into Morbius.
- 31:43Speaker2: Well, Joker did without Batman. The first Joker was good,
- 31:47Speaker2: but Joker's
- 31:48Speaker1: different.
- 31:49Speaker2: It is different.
- 31:49Speaker1: Joker's different.
- 31:50Speaker1: Joker's the only villain, only one. The Joker is the only villain
- 31:54Speaker1: who's on par, who's just as like
- 31:57Speaker1: the yin and yang with Batman and stuff.
- 32:00Speaker2: And that's why I brought that up.
- 32:01Speaker2: Yeah, because I feel like that's about the only instance where— and
- 32:06Speaker2: so this has got me a little skeptical. What do you think? You think this
- 32:08Speaker2: is going to be a box office or bomb?
- 32:10Speaker1: I think that it's going to
- 32:12Speaker1: be a— I think
- 32:16Speaker1: it's going to be, uh, I'll say a box office— I
- 32:20Speaker1: think it would be box office. We're talking about like debuting at number 1 because
- 32:25Speaker1: I don't think it has that much competition or whatever. So I would say,
- 32:27Speaker1: I'll say it'd be box office. I'll say it probably debut at about— let's
- 32:31Speaker1: see here, uh, I would say Probably
- 32:36Speaker1: about like $20 million.
- 32:37Speaker2: Okay, so then that's going to be less than their budget
- 32:40Speaker2: because their budget was about $30 to $40 million.
- 32:42Speaker1: Oh yeah.
- 32:43Speaker2: So ideally,
- 32:43Speaker2: you'd want to make your money back in that weekend.
- 32:47Speaker1: They'll make, they'll make it back, but not in that weekend though.
- 32:49Speaker2: I
- 32:49Speaker1: think,
- 32:50Speaker1: I think they'll do about $20 million.
- 32:51Speaker2: Okay.
- 32:52Speaker1: I think they're about $20 million.
- 32:53Speaker2: I'm gonna go that this is gonna be a bomb. Yeah, I think this is
- 32:56Speaker2: gonna tank.
- 32:57Speaker1: Okay.
- 32:57Speaker2: Yeah, I think we're gonna be looking around $15
- 33:03Speaker2: million? Yeah.
- 33:03Speaker1: Okay.
- 33:04Speaker2: I don't think they're even— I like, they might get
- 33:06Speaker2: half their budget back. I just don't know that Clayface is going
- 33:10Speaker2: to be enough. The horror aspect is there, that's got
- 33:14Speaker2: its potential, but I'm thinking this is going to be a bomb,
- 33:17Speaker2: buddy.
- 33:18Speaker1: I think the only thing that's going to save it,
- 33:21Speaker1: if we're talking about like DC— well, I mean, what might help it is if
- 33:24Speaker1: we're just talking about like DC. Like DC has like a lot of good— like
- 33:29Speaker1: a lot of attention on it right now. because of what Lanterns just did,
- 33:32Speaker1: even though it's not— even though it's not, you know, it's Batman and Green Lantern,
- 33:36Speaker1: it's 2 different things, but it's still, you know, the DC world
- 33:40Speaker1: or whatever, the whole DC world building type of thing. But then,
- 33:44Speaker1: uh, Supergirl— Supergirl bombed. So, so, so we'll see
- 33:48Speaker1: how that goes. Um, but yeah, that's how
- 33:52Speaker1: I think it's gonna go. I think it's gonna go about $20 million, about $20
- 33:54Speaker1: million. That's, that's where I'm going with that. So we'll check back, we'll check back
- 33:58Speaker1: with that. Um, We'll check back with that
- 34:01Speaker1: one next week and stuff all like that. So we'll see how that goes.
- 34:04Speaker1: We'll see how that goes. And then, so that was it, y'all. That was it
- 34:08Speaker1: for the Box Office or Bomb. So before we
- 34:12Speaker1: do get into the next segment, I do want to make sure and tell y'all
- 34:15Speaker1: one more time, go to this, uh,
- 34:17Speaker1: yeahbuddyent.com shop to get your Yeah Buddy sweaters,
- 34:21Speaker1: hoodies, and all that good jazz, y'all. So now we,
- 34:24Speaker1: uh, we're gonna get into what we— I guess this is Um, our favorite part
- 34:28Speaker1: of the show. This is
- 34:31Speaker1: what we call the, uh, the Mount Rushmore, y'all. This is where we
- 34:35Speaker1: just play a game where we just kind of pick a category,
- 34:39Speaker1: select 8 topics in that category, and we break down which
- 34:43Speaker1: ones we want to be on our Mount Rushmore.
- 34:46Speaker1: And we'll just— we just have fun with it. We just have fun with it,
- 34:49Speaker1: y'all. So let's get into this right now with the Mount Rushmore game,
- 34:52Speaker1: y'all. So, um, See here, let me go first.
- 34:56Speaker1: Here's one. So I got right here just because it is Halloween
- 35:00Speaker1: season. So this one right here, we're gonna go with, um,
- 35:04Speaker1: horror icons. Okay, right here.
- 35:08Speaker1: So right now, so for your Mount Rushmore of horror icons,
- 35:12Speaker1: we have up first Freddy Krueger.
- 35:16Speaker2: Oof. Yeah, it's a powerhouse there.
- 35:20Speaker2: A lot of Nightmare on Elm Streets. I was just watching those,
- 35:23Speaker2: uh, gonna say I don't
- 35:27Speaker2: want that on my Mount Rushmore.
- 35:29Speaker1: Okay.
- 35:31Speaker1: So next one up, we have Jason Voorhees.
- 35:37Speaker1: They just had the Crystal Lake with, um, what's her face,
- 35:40Speaker2: right?
- 35:40Speaker1: Shout out to
- 35:41Speaker1: Linda Cardellini.
- 35:44Speaker2: I don't
- 35:45Speaker2: want that on my—
- 35:46Speaker1: okay.
- 35:48Speaker2: Mount Rushmore,
- 35:49Speaker2: buddy.
- 35:49Speaker1: All right, cool. Next one up we have is Pennywise.
- 35:54Speaker2: I'm gonna— I would like that on my Mount Rushmore. I think
- 35:59Speaker2: I like It. So yeah,
- 36:03Speaker2: I'm gonna keep that.
- 36:04Speaker1: Okay.
- 36:07Speaker1: Next one up we have Chucky the doll.
- 36:10Speaker2: Oh, I gotta have
- 36:11Speaker2: that on my Mount Rushmore. Child's Play. Come on.
- 36:14Speaker1: All right, for sure.
- 36:17Speaker1: On there. Next one up, we have Carrie. They just had
- 36:21Speaker1: the reboot on Amazon right now.
- 36:24Speaker2: I don't
- 36:25Speaker2: think I want Carrie on my mountain.
- 36:27Speaker1: You don't like Carrie?
- 36:28Speaker2: I mean,
- 36:28Speaker2: it's not that I don't like Carrie. I like Stephen King, but not
- 36:32Speaker2: enough. I would probably go with Freddy over Carrie.
- 36:36Speaker1: Okay, so you have, um, you pick 2,
- 36:40Speaker1: pick 2, you got 2 more with 3 choices.
- 36:42Speaker2: Okay,
- 36:43Speaker1: so next
- 36:44Speaker1: one up, we got Michael Myers.
- 36:45Speaker2: Absolutely on my Mount Rushmore.
- 36:48Speaker2: That's, that's 100%. Yeah,
- 36:54Speaker1: 100%. All right, next one up, we got the, the many different faces
- 36:58Speaker1: but one face, Mr. Ghostface from
- 37:02Speaker1: Scream.
- 37:03Speaker2: Um,
- 37:06Speaker2: I'm gonna risk it, and I'm gonna say I don't want
- 37:09Speaker2: that on my Mount Rushmore. I'm gonna go with the last one.
- 37:12Speaker1: Okay, so the ones you choose to keep off
- 37:16Speaker1: your Mount Rushmore is Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees,
- 37:20Speaker1: Carrie, and Ghostface. And so your Mount
- 37:23Speaker1: Rushmore of horror icons are Pennywise
- 37:27Speaker1: the Clown, Chucky the doll,
- 37:31Speaker1: Michael Myers from Halloween, and Leatherface from
- 37:35Speaker1: Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
- 37:36Speaker2: Not bad. I probably would—
- 37:38Speaker2: yeah, I might have changed a little bit, but, uh, not too bad.
- 37:42Speaker1: Yeah,
- 37:42Speaker1: that's not bad. That's not bad.
- 37:44Speaker2: All right, well, I've got some
- 37:46Speaker2: for you, buddy.
- 37:47Speaker1: Okay.
- 37:47Speaker2: Uh, it's gonna be the Mount— we were talking about Batman
- 37:51Speaker2: earlier, so this is going to be the Mount Rushmore of Batman films.
- 37:55Speaker1: Okay.
- 37:56Speaker2: First up, we've got The Batman with Robert Pattinson.
- 38:01Speaker1: Uh, nah, we keep that one off.
- 38:02Speaker2: All right, next one is
- 38:04Speaker2: Batman and Robin, George Clooney.
- 38:10Speaker1: You know what, just for good nature, I'm gonna put that one on.
- 38:12Speaker2: Oh wow.
- 38:12Speaker1: Just for good nature, I'm gonna put that one on there. Just for good nature.
- 38:15Speaker1: Yeah, just, just for the fuck of it.
- 38:17Speaker2: Okay.
- 38:17Speaker1: I'll put that on there.
- 38:18Speaker2: Next one up, I grew up with this as a kid, Batman Forever.
- 38:22Speaker1: Batman Forever with Val Kilmer? No, no,
- 38:25Speaker1: no.
- 38:26Speaker2: Okay. Uh, for your Mount Rushmore, uh,
- 38:29Speaker2: Batman v Superman, Ben Affleck.
- 38:32Speaker1: Batman v Superman.
- 38:36Speaker1: Um, yeah,
- 38:39Speaker1: yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll put that on my Mount Rushmore.
- 38:42Speaker2: Oh, wow.
- 38:43Speaker2: Uh, then we got Lego Batman Movie, Will Arnett voiced
- 38:47Speaker2: it.
- 38:49Speaker1: Um, I like that one. That was a good
- 38:50Speaker1: movie, but I'll pass.
- 38:51Speaker2: All right. Uh, so, so far you've kept 2
- 38:55Speaker2: on your Mount Rushmore. You've got Batman Begins,
- 38:58Speaker2: Christian Bale. Um,
- 39:01Speaker1: I'll pass.
- 39:05Speaker2: Okay.
- 39:06Speaker2: Uh,
- 39:06Speaker1: how many more, Doc?
- 39:07Speaker2: You got 2 more. So actually, you've got
- 39:10Speaker2: to keep these next 2. So your Mount Rushmore right
- 39:14Speaker2: now is you got Batman and Robin, You've got
- 39:19Speaker2: Batman and Superman, and you're,
- 39:22Speaker2: you're gonna have Batman, the original 1989
- 39:26Speaker2: Michael Keaton.
- 39:27Speaker1: Okay.
- 39:28Speaker2: And The Dark Knight.
- 39:29Speaker1: Yeah, that's not bad at all.
- 39:30Speaker2: So I'll take that. What? That's fantastic.
- 39:32Speaker1: That's good. You get a little bit of everything.
- 39:34Speaker2: You did well with the final
- 39:36Speaker2: 2.
- 39:36Speaker1: Yeah, I'll take it. No, Batman, Batman and Robin is underrated. So,
- 39:39Speaker1: okay. All right, cool. So this next one we have
- 39:43Speaker1: up This one is— I call this, this is the Mount
- 39:46Speaker1: Rushmore of what could have been. And this is basically actors that
- 39:50Speaker1: turned down famous roles.
- 39:52Speaker2: Oh wow, cool. So interesting
- 39:54Speaker2: one.
- 39:54Speaker1: This is gonna be an interesting one. So the first one up is actually
- 39:58Speaker1: a double header. Um, it's Will Smith, and he did— and
- 40:02Speaker1: he turned down Django and Neo in The Matrix.
- 40:07Speaker1: Would you like to see him as— play one of those 2?
- 40:11Speaker2: No,
- 40:11Speaker1: no, you'll take them
- 40:13Speaker2: off? No,
- 40:14Speaker2: I don't want to see that. I'm sorry, buddy.
- 40:17Speaker2: It's all good, no
- 40:19Speaker1: worries.
- 40:23Speaker1: Next one up we have— this is funny— Amy
- 40:27Speaker1: Schumer as Barbie.
- 40:30Speaker2: That's a no.
- 40:31Speaker1: No,
- 40:31Speaker2: that's a no.
- 40:31Speaker1: You don't want to? You don't want to? She was originally—
- 40:33Speaker1: she was originally going to play Barbie, but they gave it to Margot Robbie.
- 40:35Speaker2: Yeah, I think that was a better— okay.
- 40:38Speaker1: Yeah. All right,
- 40:40Speaker1: uh, next, what could have been, um, Halle Berry in Speed.
- 40:43Speaker2: Okay, now we're talking.
- 40:44Speaker1: She was supposed to play Sandra Bullock's character.
- 40:46Speaker2: Now we're talking.
- 40:47Speaker2: Let's put Halle Berry on my Mount Rushmore.
- 40:49Speaker1: You got her up there for what
- 40:50Speaker1: could have been?
- 40:51Speaker2: We want to see. That's— that's— I feel great about that
- 40:54Speaker2: selection.
- 40:54Speaker1: We want to see— we wanted to see Halle driving the bus. Yeah,
- 40:57Speaker1: that's what we want to see. Yeah, yeah. Next one up, we have Matt Damon
- 41:06Speaker1: Did you ever see Jason Bourne as Jake Sully?
- 41:07Speaker2: No,
- 41:08Speaker1: no,
- 41:09Speaker2: no, no,
- 41:10Speaker2: no.
- 41:11Speaker1: All
- 41:11Speaker2: right, that's a no, buddy.
- 41:12Speaker1: All right, so that means
- 41:14Speaker1: you got to keep these next ones.
- 41:15Speaker2: I gotta keep— so I got one.
- 41:18Speaker1: Oh, that's right, because I did— because Will Smith was 2. That's right, I forgot.
- 41:21Speaker1: Yeah,
- 41:25Speaker1: that's right, because I did— Will Smith was 2. So you— so you cut both
- 41:28Speaker1: of those.
- 41:29Speaker2: Oh,
- 41:29Speaker1: that's what I meant.
- 41:30Speaker2: Oh yeah, whoops.
- 41:32Speaker1: Yeah,
- 41:32Speaker2: that's all right.
- 41:33Speaker1: Yeah, but you was gonna cut both of them anyways.
- 41:35Speaker2: I was.
- 41:35Speaker1: So yeah, so then you keep these next 3.
- 41:38Speaker2: Okay. All
- 41:38Speaker1: right, so, so once you tell us to, uh,
- 41:42Speaker1: keep popping Mount Rushmore was Will Smith as Django and Will Smith
- 41:45Speaker1: as Leo.
- 41:45Speaker2: Correct.
- 41:46Speaker1: Amy Schumer as Barbie, Matt Damon as,
- 41:49Speaker1: um, Avatar. And your Mount Rushmore
- 41:53Speaker1: of what could have been is Halle Berry in Speed,
- 41:56Speaker1: Al Pacino as Han Solo.
- 41:58Speaker2: Okay.
- 41:59Speaker1: Michael Jackson
- 42:00Speaker1: as Spider-Man. And Denzel Washington in Seven.
- 42:04Speaker1: He's supposed to— I think he's supposed to be Brad Pitt's character.
- 42:06Speaker2: I feel good
- 42:07Speaker2: about Denzel, but I'm not sure about Michael Jackson.
- 42:10Speaker1: He was trying to
- 42:11Speaker1: buy— he was trying to buy— he was trying to play— he was trying to
- 42:13Speaker1: buy Marvel so he could play Spider-Man.
- 42:20Speaker2: I wonder if it would have been a musical.
- 42:21Speaker1: It would have been, it would
- 42:22Speaker1: have been, it would have been funny to see.
- 42:25Speaker2: For sure. For sure.
- 42:28Speaker2: Being that it's Halloween, I also have Halloween for you.
- 42:32Speaker2: And the best Halloween movies for your
- 42:36Speaker2: Mount Rushmore. First up, we've got Beetlejuice.
- 42:41Speaker1: Oh, no, that's okay. I'll pass.
- 42:42Speaker2: You're gonna pass on that?
- 42:43Speaker1: Yeah.
- 42:44Speaker2: Next one, we got Candyman with the newer one.
- 42:48Speaker2: Uh, the original, but the, the newer one. Yeah, came out about
- 42:52Speaker2: 20—
- 42:52Speaker1: Yeah, I saw it. I saw that. Um, it's just about like if this
- 42:55Speaker1: original, man— I mean, if it's the reboot, you always kind of want to go
- 42:58Speaker1: with the original, but, uh, it's a
- 43:00Speaker2: reboot.
- 43:00Speaker1: I'm gonna go— I, I, you know,
- 43:02Speaker1: I'll keep that. I'll put that— I'll put that on my Mount Rushmore.
- 43:04Speaker2: Okay.
- 43:05Speaker2: Uh, next up for your Mount Rushmore, we got The Corpse Bride.
- 43:09Speaker1: The Corpse— I don't even remember watching that. I know what it is, but I
- 43:12Speaker1: don't even think I ever watched that one. No, I could— no, I could do
- 43:15Speaker1: without it.
- 43:15Speaker2: All right, then we got next up is the newer It.
- 43:19Speaker1: The newer It?
- 43:20Speaker2: Yes. Uh,
- 43:21Speaker1: I'm not really much a fan of clowns,
- 43:27Speaker1: but I'll put up— I'll put that up there
- 43:30Speaker1: on my Mount Rushmore.
- 43:31Speaker2: Okay, next up, this is kind of old school. See if
- 43:34Speaker2: you remember this one, The Craft.
- 43:36Speaker1: Oh yeah, I remember The Craft.
- 43:37Speaker2: Okay.
- 43:39Speaker1: Uh, no, I'll pass. No.
- 43:40Speaker2: All right, next one up,
- 43:42Speaker2: one of my favorites, uh, The Addams Family.
- 43:46Speaker1: Original Addams Family.
- 43:48Speaker2: Yes, back in the '90s.
- 43:51Speaker1: Um, I'll pass.
- 43:52Speaker2: Oh, all right,
- 43:54Speaker2: so you've got to keep these next 2. Sorry.
- 43:57Speaker2: Mount Rushmore is— you got Candyman,
- 44:02Speaker2: you've got, uh, It. You've got
- 44:06Speaker2: Scream, the original.
- 44:07Speaker1: I'll take Scream.
- 44:07Speaker2: And Get Out.
- 44:08Speaker1: Oh yeah, no, that's good.
- 44:10Speaker2: I'm winning.
- 44:10Speaker1: Good, I'm winning. Yeah, that's good.
- 44:11Speaker2: There you go.
- 44:12Speaker1: That's winning. Nice job,
- 44:13Speaker1: buddy. All right, all right, all right. For sure. Cool. All righty
