- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So today we are talking about the metaphor of how life is like
- 0:35a bicycle. In order to keep your balance,
- 0:38you got to keep moving. And when you don't keep moving,
- 0:41you end up falling off. And we all know it.
- 0:43And there are so many times riding a bike.
- 0:46Boy, I have to tell you when I first started to learn to ride a
- 0:49bike when I was little. It was the scariest thing for me
- 0:52and I wanted to do it so bad, but I was so scared and I
- 0:55remember my father talking to me and he's like, it's just
- 0:59balance. You just have to balance.
- 1:00So I would stand there. I had the bike with the banana
- 1:03seat and the big, you know, whoopy doop handlebars and the
- 1:07tassels and sparkles and everything, and I thought it was
- 1:10the coolest bike, but I was terrified to ride it.
- 1:13And I would just sit on it and try to keep my balance and I
- 1:17would always tip and always tip and always tip and think to
- 1:20myself, I am never going to get these training wheels off this
- 1:23bike. Well of course I did get the
- 1:25training wheels off the bike, but it took me a while and when
- 1:27he took them off he didn't give me a choice.
- 1:29He was just like you're good, you can do this, It's just about
- 1:32balance. And he would put me out there
- 1:36and just push me and say go, go, go, keep moving, keep moving,
- 1:39keep moving and. The more you thought about this
- 1:43as an adult, the more I thought, gosh, this is such a great
- 1:47statement about how we have to conduct ourselves as people
- 1:51moving forward in life. Sometimes, yeah, you have to
- 1:55rest. Sometimes you have to get off
- 1:56the bike and take a rest. But I'm talking about moving
- 1:59yourself forward, talking about using it as a metaphor to say,
- 2:02Yep, there are days when you get off the bike and you rest, and
- 2:06there are days when you get off the bike and you, you know,
- 2:10don't want to get back on the bike.
- 2:11Because of one reason or another.
- 2:13But the most important thing about the bike is to remember
- 2:16it's all in the balance. It's all in making sure that you
- 2:21keep yourself moving to keep yourself balanced.
- 2:26Now the moving can be. In your head too, you got to
- 2:30keep thinking about the stuff that you the destination, the
- 2:33stuff that you want to create, that you are creating, that
- 2:36you're contemplating, imagining. All of that good stuff all falls
- 2:40under that category where we get so hung up sometimes.
- 2:45As you know, just being human, we get so hunkered down in in
- 2:50the overwhelm of like, well, I am frozen.
- 2:53I'm scared, so I don't know what to do.
- 2:55Therefore I don't move. And when you don't move, we know
- 2:58what that does. It horrifies us.
- 3:01Worst off that it it in your body.
- 3:04If you don't keep moving, well, we all know you atrophy.
- 3:06Bodies atrophy very quickly. So if you're stiff and sore.
- 3:11Most likely it's because you don't move a lot.
- 3:13And if you don't move a lot, then you have a problem.
- 3:15The more you move, the better off you are.
- 3:17That's why children, I mean, granted, they're younger, but
- 3:19that's why they have it so much easier with their bodies because
- 3:22they're they're just so agile and they keep moving.
- 3:25I mean, my son doesn't sit still and I've learned a lot from
- 3:28that. Mean people tell me all the time
- 3:29I don't sit still well. And part of that is just because
- 3:33moving feels better than sitting.
- 3:35Honestly, moving feels better than sitting for me.
- 3:38So I I move a lot. I like moving.
- 3:41It's good and I work to keep my balance with it.
- 3:44So the question you have to contemplate and ask yourself is,
- 3:48you know, where am I struggling with my balance?
- 3:51What are the things that are off?
- 3:53What are the things that I know I need to focus on in order to
- 3:57regain and rebalance yourself? You know, simple little things
- 4:01make a huge difference. It could be just taking the time
- 4:04to say, hey, I need to get my mindset great in the morning
- 4:08before I do anything else. I've got to create a healthier
- 4:11mindset pattern. Maybe it's your food.
- 4:13Maybe you have to create more balance with what you're eating
- 4:16because you might be out of whack.
- 4:17Too much sugar, not enough protein.
- 4:20Whatever it might be, maybe that's what it is.
- 4:23It could be. Exercise.
- 4:25It could just be like, you know, OK, I'm.
- 4:27I'm not doing enough exercise. I'm not getting enough in during
- 4:30the day. I know I preach this constantly.
- 4:33But when you really monitor the steps and how many steps you do
- 4:37in a day, most people are shocked by the fact that they
- 4:39don't do as many steps as they think they they do.
- 4:42And then they realize, Oh my gosh, I am barely moving.
- 4:46It's definitely evident. But whatever it is, whatever it
- 4:50comes down to. You have to realize that there's
- 4:53such a big, huge chunk of it, and that falls into the category
- 4:58of if I can keep moving, I create the balance
- 5:02automatically. So I just have to keep going.
- 5:05Even if it's slow and steady, small steps, That's what creates
- 5:10the balance. So figure out where you're
- 5:12lacking it. Figure out what you need to do.
- 5:15Give yourself a break, give yourself a pat on the back, be
- 5:18proud of the fact that you're still doing it and make the
- 5:21move. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:23you have a very blessed day and I will see you all tomorrow.
- 5:27Bye.
