- 2:29Dayna Roselli: Welcome everyone to episode 163 of Vegas Revealed.
- 2:35Dayna Roselli: It is finally warmer here in Las Vegas, and we are ready for a good week.
- 2:40Dayna Roselli: Hey, Sean.
- 2:41Sean McAllister: Hey, how's it going?
- 2:42Sean McAllister: Yeah, it feels like it finally is pool season.
- 2:45Sean McAllister: I know the pool's been open for a few weeks now, but it really hasn't felt like it.
- 2:50Sean McAllister: Now we're good, hopefully.
- 2:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's a nice, nice warm weekend.
- 2:53Dayna Roselli: So we'll see if it sticks around.
- 2:55Dayna Roselli: Um, listen, thanks for joining us.
- 2:57Dayna Roselli: We have a lot to talk about.
- 2:58Dayna Roselli: We have a great interview coming up with the entertainment director of Resorts World.
- 3:02Dayna Roselli: We're gonna learn all sorts of interesting information about the world of entertainment and also get a little exclusive in there, too.
- 3:10Sean McAllister: Yeah, some scoop that you'll hear first on Vegas Revealed.
- 3:14Sean McAllister: We love that.
- 3:15Sean McAllister: Uh, there's also some other scoop that's coming out around Las Vegas with uh some existing shows, Dana.
- 3:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, Awakening over at the Wynn.
- 3:24Dayna Roselli: You've heard us talk about it before.
- 3:26Dayna Roselli: Um, we actually told you about it before it opened.
- 3:29Dayna Roselli: We had a nice breakfast over at The Wynn, chatting with some of the producers, and um, we're really looking forward to it.
- 3:35Dayna Roselli: We went to the show, we told you that it was visually stunning.
- 3:40Dayna Roselli: Some of the things that we didn't love, well, the storyline.
- 3:44Dayna Roselli: We didn't quite follow exactly what was happening.
- 3:47Dayna Roselli: Sean, I remember you had a tip that said, Well, if you get a chance, read the program.
- 3:52Dayna Roselli: It kind of lays out the story that you're going to see.
- 3:56Dayna Roselli: A lot of people don't really read the program.
- 3:58Dayna Roselli: Anyway, um, we felt like it had some issues, but they sunk a lot of money into it, and technologically it was stunning.
- 4:08Sean McAllister: And we wanted it to succeed.
- 4:10Sean McAllister: We want every show that opens here to be a success for the sake of the the cast, the crew, the the property that is depending on people to come in and and fill those seats.
- 4:22Sean McAllister: Um but with some of the challenges that the show is facing, now uh there is word that the show is going to be kind of uh shutting down for a re a retooling period.
- 4:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 4:37Dayna Roselli: If you go online, you can see that the the show kind of stops around, I think it's April 15th or 17th, um, and won't come back until June.
- 4:45Dayna Roselli: So you can tell they're probably gonna take some time to tweak things.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: I follow a couple of the performers on Instagram, and I know they believe in this show and they want to make sure that it's perfect.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: Um, they do need to do something, and I think kudos to the producers and creators of the show to say, hey, it's not working.
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: We need to pause for a moment.
- 5:08Sean McAllister: Well, that's a hard decision to make.
- 5:10Sean McAllister: It is to actually take a pause and you know, to refine the vision that you originally had creatively, and you know, it it seems like that's what they're doing.
- 5:21Sean McAllister: Uh so from yeah, April 17th through uh June, they're gonna be reworking the show, and hopefully when it comes back over the summer, people will be lining up to buy those tickets and and filling the seats over at Wynn.
- 5:37Dayna Roselli: They put a lot into this show, and it just proves every show doesn't work.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: It doesn't just open and everything just falls into place all the time, you know?
- 5:45Dayna Roselli: It has to be something that when the audiences walk away, they're telling other people to go.
- 5:52Sean McAllister: Right.
- 5:53Dayna Roselli: And if not, you can either close or you can revamp, and it seems like they're gonna revamp.
- 5:59Dayna Roselli: So good for them over at Awakening at the Win.
- 6:02Dayna Roselli: Hopefully it will be back and it will be better than ever.
- 6:05Sean McAllister: Uh, Adele, obviously, one of the hottest tickets that that you could get in Las Vegas for her uh first run of shows, which were was like her exclusive run of shows.
- 6:16Sean McAllister: Um, we let you know that she has since uh announced another set of show dates.
- 6:22Sean McAllister: Tickets for those shows just went on sale, and fans all over social media are now saying everything's sold out.
- 6:31Sean McAllister: There will be no general admission because all of the verified fan sales have snatched up all the tickets.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's interesting.
- 6:40Dayna Roselli: Um, we weren't sure how it would go.
- 6:43Dayna Roselli: We're like, well, okay, you know, she she started, it's getting such rave reviews, she's coming back for a bunch of weekends.
- 6:49Dayna Roselli: Will the tickets be lower price?
- 6:52Dayna Roselli: Will they sell?
- 6:53Dayna Roselli: And it looks like, for the most part, in the chatter that we're reading, is that they have sold.
- 6:58Dayna Roselli: Now, I was on the verified, I got in, and I had a friend in New York City who really wanted to go to the show.
- 7:05Dayna Roselli: And so we all kind of put our names on the list.
- 7:07Dayna Roselli: He got waitlisted.
- 7:09Dayna Roselli: I didn't.
- 7:10Dayna Roselli: So we went in with my account and bought tickets for him.
- 7:13Dayna Roselli: And, you know, I may go too when he comes.
- 7:15Dayna Roselli: It's not till September.
- 7:17Dayna Roselli: So we have the tickets now, and um, he wanted to purchase them.
- 7:22Dayna Roselli: I was not willing to pay that much.
- 7:28Dayna Roselli: So I told him if you get desperate and you need someone to go with you, I will go, but I'm not spending that much on a ticket.
- 7:34Dayna Roselli: He got 10th row, and it was just under$1,000 each.
- 7:39Dayna Roselli: So he feels happy with that.
- 7:41Dayna Roselli: Perfect, great, enjoy it.
- 7:44Dayna Roselli: Um, for me, it's a bit much.
- 7:47Dayna Roselli: And I feel like I don't know.
- 7:48Dayna Roselli: So, anyway, I'm not gonna get into all the details there.
- 7:51Dayna Roselli: We got the tickets.
- 7:52Dayna Roselli: Um, so that that's what we were looking at.
- 7:54Dayna Roselli: Around$775 plus taxes and fees came out to about$950 per ticket.
- 8:00Dayna Roselli: A very close seat, though, and an end seat.
- 8:03Dayna Roselli: Right, I should say.
- 8:05Dayna Roselli: So that's what's going on there.
- 8:06Dayna Roselli: Um, but uh, I have another friend who got in and was looking around.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: They were online, they were number 2,000, even when they got in to the pre-verified.
- 8:15Dayna Roselli: So there were 2,000 people in front of her.
- 8:18Dayna Roselli: When we got in, there were about 200 in front of us.
- 8:21Dayna Roselli: So it just depends on what day and everything like that.
- 8:23Dayna Roselli: But I can imagine that it is probably sold out, and what we're hearing on Twitter is true.
- 8:30Dayna Roselli: We have also a friend in LA who said he browsed, he saw some balcony seats for about 450.
- 8:36Dayna Roselli: So prices may be slightly lower, but they're still up there.
- 8:40Sean McAllister: They are still up there, and I have a feeling that uh people who don't have tickets right now who try and go to secondary markets to get their tickets, because another thing we're seeing online is all these fans saying, Hey, I got my tickets.
- 8:54Sean McAllister: I'm you know, putting them up for sale uh for five times what I just bought them for, essentially.
- 9:02Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 9:03Sean McAllister: So I don't know.
- 9:04Sean McAllister: I don't know that this verified fan thing is going to work.
- 9:07Sean McAllister: I think it could totally backfire and force uh fans to just pay exorbitant prices for these tickets only because like the verified fan got in first so they could snatch up tickets to then go and resell them.
- 9:23Sean McAllister: So either it's going to turn people off completely, or there could be a situation where there are shows where a bunch of people like those tickets go unpurchased on the secondary market, and maybe people live out of town and they can't make it to that performance.
- 9:41Sean McAllister: I mean, there is a situation where seats could be empty at her shows.
- 9:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 9:47Dayna Roselli: Well, you're right.
- 9:48Dayna Roselli: I mean, you can buy up to four.
- 9:50Dayna Roselli: So I think a lot of people, including some friends that I know, needed two, but thought, well, I'm just gonna put on my credit card four and sell the other two.
- 10:00Dayna Roselli: Um, it's not a huge amount, four tickets.
- 10:02Dayna Roselli: They're not letting you buy 10, they're not letting you buy 20.
- 10:06Dayna Roselli: They know that you're a real person.
- 10:08Dayna Roselli: Uh there, there are a lot of things you have to do, but I agree.
- 10:10Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 10:11Dayna Roselli: And and what my friend was saying is, you know, it's not easy to figure out like you get a link, you get a code, you've got to sign.
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: And for some older people and even some younger people, it can be a little tricky to get in, get prepared, be there at the specific time, be there ahead of time, have your code right.
- 10:29Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's a process.
- 10:31Dayna Roselli: And I don't know if a lot of people are willing or can go through that.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: Maybe they're working.
- 10:36Dayna Roselli: So anyway, um, there's there will be a lot of tickets, like you said, that were bought just as extras and be sold for more.
- 10:43Dayna Roselli: So it is what it is.
- 10:45Sean McAllister: And I guess my point is if people are relying on the secondary ticket market in order to go and see a show like this, they're gonna get ripped off.
- 10:55Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 10:56Sean McAllister: Period.
- 10:56Sean McAllister: Right.
- 10:57Sean McAllister: For sure.
- 10:57Dayna Roselli: Expect to pay more.
- 10:58Sean McAllister: So the system is not working as intended.
- 11:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:02Dayna Roselli: But at that point, if you pay 900 and you that then you're like, well, gosh, now we have to fork out 1400.
- 11:09Dayna Roselli: I mean, does it really matter at that point if you have$900 to spend?
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: I I don't can't imagine spending that much on a ticket.
- 11:17Dayna Roselli: I just can't.
- 11:17Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: I I really hope this isn't.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: I understand she's amazing.
- 11:22Dayna Roselli: I do, I understand all of it.
- 11:23Dayna Roselli: I understand it's intimate, it's once in a lifetime.
- 11:26Dayna Roselli: But gosh, I'm finding it hard to sit with that for some of these shows to be so expensive.
- 11:31Dayna Roselli: I mean, even when, you know, Taylor Swift, it was a tour, and there were some tickets there for like 250 and stuff, but it's it's hard to imagine spending these, you know, 700, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000 on tickets to see.
- 11:46Sean McAllister: I am not the market for thousand-dollar tickets.
- 11:49Sean McAllister: No, I am the market for taking that money and going on a nice beach vacation.
- 11:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:54Dayna Roselli: I mean, I'd prefer a hydrofacial, to be honest.
- 12:00Dayna Roselli: But anyway, these shows, listen, these shows are top-notch.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: I am not ripping the shows.
- 12:05Dayna Roselli: They're amazing.
- 12:06Dayna Roselli: We are so lucky to have them.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: Adele, I've we've heard nothing but amazing things.
- 12:10Dayna Roselli: And anybody who can afford to go, great.
- 12:14Dayna Roselli: Good for you.
- 12:15Dayna Roselli: And if you want to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience, everyone's life experiences are different.
- 12:20Dayna Roselli: And I guess if this means the world to you and you want maybe that is someone's vacation.
- 12:26Dayna Roselli: To us, it's a facial and a vacation.
- 12:28Dayna Roselli: To somebody else, it's Adele.
- 12:30Dayna Roselli: It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience that they'll remember, keep thinking about, love every minute of it, and maybe it's worth the money.
- 12:37Dayna Roselli: So, and I guess that's who it caters to, right?
- 12:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, I guess.
- 12:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:41Dayna Roselli: And then the, you know, we've had a lot of people visit Adele's show, big celebrities.
- 12:47Dayna Roselli: We saw Mark Wahlberg was there, we saw Kim Kardashian and Kendall were there.
- 12:50Dayna Roselli: There's been all sorts of people.
- 12:52Dayna Roselli: Gordon Ramsey.
- 12:52Dayna Roselli: Gordon Ramsey.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:54Dayna Roselli: So I mean, also, it's it's cool to have the entertainment, I guess, uh, star celebrity community come out and support her too.
- 13:01Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 13:01Sean McAllister: I'm waiting for the the TV special.
- 13:03Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 13:04Sean McAllister: I'll watch it in my living room.
- 13:05Dayna Roselli: I feel like I've seen it all on Insta Story.
- 13:07Dayna Roselli: I piece it together and I have the show.
- 13:10Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: Allegiant Stadium's doing something big, not a concert, but a huge soccer match.
- 13:16Dayna Roselli: You can call it football or you can call it soccer.
- 13:18Dayna Roselli: We're gonna call it soccer because we're sitting here in the United States.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: But it's Manchester United that is playing at Allegiant Stadium, and they are playing Germany's.
- 13:29Dayna Roselli: We looked this up, all right.
- 13:30Dayna Roselli: I hope I say this right.
- 13:32Sean McAllister: Borussia Dortmund.
- 13:33Dayna Roselli: Borussia Dortmund uh uh for a match on July 30th.
- 13:38Dayna Roselli: It's at six o'clock.
- 13:39Dayna Roselli: Uh, those tickets on sale now.
- 13:42Dayna Roselli: Uh, it's gonna be huge.
- 13:43Dayna Roselli: So it's basically they're they're saying they're welcoming the global soccer heavyweights.
- 13:49Dayna Roselli: So they must be like, I obviously I know Manchester United is huge, but I don't know about Germany's team.
- 13:53Sean McAllister: Yeah, I'm excited about this.
- 13:55Sean McAllister: I we were actually just talking as the new season of Ted Lasso came out.
- 13:58Sean McAllister: We're like, oh, how fun would it be to go over to England and like watch a soccer game over there because fans are like next level over in England and really across Europe.
- 14:12Sean McAllister: Um but to have these teams coming here, I think that's a a great taste of obviously not exactly the um environment that you would find overseas, but I imagine a lot of people from England and from Germany and Europe will come here for uh this matchup.
- 14:34Dayna Roselli: Or if they're from there and they live here, exactly, or in driving distance, they'll be coming in.
- 14:38Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 14:38Dayna Roselli: We do have a lot of people from other countries that live here now, reside or temporarily even.
- 14:43Sean McAllister: Sure.
- 14:44Sean McAllister: So it'll be fun to see um uh what that atmosphere is like here at uh allegiance stadium.
- 14:51Sean McAllister: That'll be fun.
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: Well, you know, and Ted Lasso, too, they watch from the pub, you know, the fans.
- 14:55Dayna Roselli: So even going overseas and watching a match while it's happening live in the pub is an experience, too.
- 15:01Dayna Roselli: It's a lot of fun.
- 15:02Sean McAllister: I I mean I'm all about that.
- 15:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 15:05Dayna Roselli: Hey, Rob Lowe is coming to the Venetian again.
- 15:07Dayna Roselli: He's taking his one-man show called Stories I Only Tell My Friends Live.
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: It sounds juicy, right?
- 15:14Dayna Roselli: Um, he's coming to the summit showroom at the Venetian for two more nights, Friday, June 9th and Saturday, June 10th.
- 15:21Dayna Roselli: Love to have Rob back in town.
- 15:23Dayna Roselli: Just saw him on, I think it was the today show.
- 15:27Dayna Roselli: And they were going, and it was so funny because the host was like, Listen, I just have to ask you, I'm going to embarrass you, but you look so incredible.
- 15:35Dayna Roselli: What is your secret?
- 15:36Dayna Roselli: And he was really sweet about it.
- 15:37Dayna Roselli: He laughed.
- 15:38Dayna Roselli: And he said, good genetics, because he's 50 or no, I looked it up.
- 15:41Dayna Roselli: He's 59 now, Rob Lowe.
- 15:43Dayna Roselli: He does look amazing.
- 15:44Dayna Roselli: He does.
- 15:45Dayna Roselli: And he was like, good genetics.
- 15:46Dayna Roselli: I don't really drink anymore.
- 15:49Dayna Roselli: Um, and you know what else he said?
- 15:51Dayna Roselli: He said, I just have like a really positive, fun, loving attitude about life.
- 15:55Dayna Roselli: And I do feel like it takes away the stress, and stress makes you look older, right?
- 16:02Dayna Roselli: True.
- 16:03Dayna Roselli: And and you know, drinking alcohol can you know all the time and several times a week and going out makes you look older, dries your skin.
- 16:10Dayna Roselli: So he was saying I try to practice all those things, but then he said, in the end, it's good genetics.
- 16:15Sean McAllister: So and he uh has a new show out uh with his son.
- 16:20Sean McAllister: Oh, actually, I free.
- 16:21Sean McAllister: Is it on Netflix?
- 16:22Sean McAllister: Who what are the streaming services?
- 16:25Sean McAllister: Um, so that's kind of fun.
- 16:27Dayna Roselli: So, what kind of show is that?
- 16:28Dayna Roselli: I see him doing the circuit of interviews, and that's probably what it's about.
- 16:31Dayna Roselli: Is it is it like a sitcom or an actual like it's them?
- 16:35Sean McAllister: No, it's a sit they play characters.
- 16:37Sean McAllister: Oh, characters, okay.
- 16:38Sean McAllister: But the son plays his son on the show.
- 16:41Dayna Roselli: Oh, how fun.
- 16:42Sean McAllister: Um I forget Roblo is like kind of a crazy, crazy guy kind of character.
- 16:48Sean McAllister: I forget the whole premise of it, but I was just reading the little blurb last night.
- 16:52Sean McAllister: Um, I'll need to revisit that.
- 16:54Sean McAllister: But I have a feeling that you know family dynamics are part of what he's going to talk about when Roblo comes here to the Venetian uh for his one-man show, which he's been to Las Vegas with his one-man show before, so it is nice to have him back.
- 17:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:10Dayna Roselli: Hey, something that's coming up on May 6th, and you and I knew it was coming up, the Lovers and Friends Festival, but I don't know if we knew how big the lineup was.
- 17:19Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 17:19Dayna Roselli: We kind of revisited looking at the site because we were looking at things that were coming up, and we're like, wait a minute, the Lovers and Friends Festival over at the festival grounds here in Las Vegas on May 6th has Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, Pitbull, Usher, Christina Aguilera, and Chris Brown and 50 Cent.
- 17:36Dayna Roselli: Just like is that just touches on the list of the lineup for this festival.
- 17:42Dayna Roselli: It's huge.
- 17:43Sean McAllister: It's pretty incredible the the roster of talent that is part of this.
- 17:48Sean McAllister: Um and i I mean, I feel like kind it kind of came out of nowhere, didn't it?
- 17:54Sean McAllister: We knew the festival was happening, but I I feel like all these massive names on one lineup, I know you don't see that.
- 18:03Dayna Roselli: No, I think it like went on sale and sold out like that.
- 18:06Dayna Roselli: I think last year they added a few dates um because it sold so quick, if I remember correctly.
- 18:13Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I think it just kind of opened and closed so immediately that it like didn't have a lot of chatter.
- 18:19Dayna Roselli: Because we're like, well, but we wanted you to know that if you are adamant about coming, and maybe you didn't even know, um, it is sold out, but there is a button you can click on the website that says join the wait list, and that's if tickets come up.
- 18:32Dayna Roselli: Okay, so if you really want to try and still get on, you can do this.
- 18:38Dayna Roselli: It's a wait list request and it's right there on the front page.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: So you'll see it.
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: And the only other thing I did see was that there are some hotel and ticket packages that are still up for sale that starts at$5.99.
- 18:51Dayna Roselli: Other than that, though, VIB cabana, VIP, general admission, all sold out, and you have to join the wait list.
- 18:59Dayna Roselli: But you never know, maybe you'll get through.
- 19:01Sean McAllister: Yeah, very good.
- 19:03Sean McAllister: Uh something, you know, if you want to do something a little old school, um, and we're talking way old school, like prehistoric old school.
- 19:12Sean McAllister: There is a fun like dyno exhibit that is coming to town.
- 19:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we talked about the Disney immersive last week and we actually had a lot of comments.
- 19:21Dayna Roselli: People like to know about things that they can do with the family or things that are different in Vegas.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: So we wanted to let you know about the Dino Safari opening over at the horseshoe, formerly Bally's.
- 19:33Dayna Roselli: It's opening on April 10th.
- 19:34Dayna Roselli: It's something for the family or or not with the family.
- 19:37Dayna Roselli: You know, you can bring the fam, you cannot, but it's good for kids too.
- 19:41Dayna Roselli: Um, it's right there, apparently like underground next to that.
- 19:47Dayna Roselli: Is it the second level or first level?
- 19:50Sean McAllister: I believe you go down the escalator.
- 19:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:52Dayna Roselli: Down, right.
- 19:53Dayna Roselli: It's the I don't know if underground is the right word.
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: I mean, it kind of is.
- 19:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah, okay.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: Well, anyway, it's on that first level.
- 19:59Dayna Roselli: Um, and it's animatronics, um, like dinosaurs.
- 20:04Dayna Roselli: So apparently they move, and I don't really know.
- 20:06Dayna Roselli: They they sent us a little video.
- 20:07Dayna Roselli: We do need to check it out at some point, but we wanted to let you know that that is now open.
- 20:11Dayna Roselli: Tickets are on sale as well over at Horseshoe.
- 20:13Dayna Roselli: If you're looking to do something different, go to the Dino Safari.
- 20:16Dayna Roselli: Clicked on their Instagram, and they're located in different spots around the country.
- 20:20Dayna Roselli: But this will be um something that we'll have here in Las Vegas on the strip.
- 20:23Sean McAllister: That's a lot of fun.
- 20:24Sean McAllister: I I like those dino exhibits.
- 20:27Dayna Roselli: Hey, this is a big year in Las Vegas.
- 20:30Dayna Roselli: There are new resorts opening.
- 20:31Dayna Roselli: We know that.
- 20:32Dayna Roselli: An F1 race that's going to take over the town, a Super Bowl to plan for in 2024.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: While all that is happening, the entertainment scene, though, of our city really continues to evolve as well.
- 20:45Sean McAllister: Yeah, and to find out what's new right now and what to expect in the months and years to come, we spoke with Brent Freed, who is the entertainment director over at Resorts World and for Zook Group.
- 20:58Dayna Roselli: Hey, Brent, thanks for joining us.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: We have a lot to talk about, that's for sure.
- 21:02Dayna Roselli: A lot of questions, a lot to discuss.
- 21:04Dayna Roselli: One of the things that we wanted to get into was recently on a podcast, we discussed this Vegas visitor study that came out from 2022.
- 21:14Dayna Roselli: There were so many interesting facts in it that we were talking about.
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: And one of them I know that's kind of piqued your interest is the fact that the average age of our visitors continues to kind of trend downward.
- 21:27Dayna Roselli: They're getting younger, right?
- 21:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 21:29SPEAKER_05: I mean, we're we're obviously seeing that in Las Vegas, and it's amazing.
- 21:34SPEAKER_05: It's an amazing trend because it's uh opening up an entire new, I guess, genre of music that we get to book out here that maybe hasn't been programmed as much over the years.
- 21:45Sean McAllister: And as you know, entertainment director for Resorts World and for Zoo uh Zook Group, what does that do for the conversations that you're having about future programming and what kind of experiences you're able?
- 22:00Sean McAllister: To offer Las Vegas visitors who are getting younger?
- 22:04SPEAKER_05: Well, um, you know, I think that's a great question.
- 22:07SPEAKER_05: And similar to what you guys were reading in the study, uh, it definitely lined up with what I've been noticing over the last few years in this role, which is that, you know, when when you go out on the strip, it seems like Vegas continuing to be more diverse.
- 22:22SPEAKER_05: And with this younger demographic coming, not just for spring break anymore, but throughout the year, it's giving us the ability to experiment with kind of new talent that maybe hasn't played the market.
- 22:34SPEAKER_05: It might be more of a festival act that we're bringing into a non-traditional setting in Las Vegas.
- 22:40SPEAKER_05: And I think the other cool thing is with these residencies in Vegas that have kind of you know really taken off over the last couple of decades, it gives another unique layer where Vegas isn't just the spot anymore where maybe people used to retire.
- 22:54SPEAKER_05: I think now you're seeing the hottest, trendiest artists stopping by and playing these cool shows.
- 23:00Dayna Roselli: No, I agree.
- 23:01Dayna Roselli: It's it's interesting.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: And just to point out, for anyone uh listening that doesn't know the numbers, the average age uh was 47 in 1992, 43 in 2021, and then 40 in 2022.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: So, yeah, the visitors are definitely getting younger.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: And I think you make a good point.
- 23:21Dayna Roselli: Sean and I have discussed on the podcast many times how you know this isn't the place where you end up anymore, right?
- 23:27SPEAKER_05: No, definitely not.
- 23:29SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's crazy.
- 23:30SPEAKER_05: Like one instance for us is we were noticing this trend when we were getting ready to open the property and we signed a multi-year residency with Jack Harlow.
- 23:39SPEAKER_05: And at the time he had very limited music out.
- 23:41SPEAKER_05: This was in 2020, 2021.
- 23:44SPEAKER_05: And watching that artist completely explode over the couple years so far that he's been a resident of ours.
- 23:50SPEAKER_05: I mean, that's that's kind of proving right there that Vegas can break artists and you know they can take off in the nightclub and become superstars.
- 23:59SPEAKER_05: And it it has definitely opened up that side of the business.
- 24:03Sean McAllister: And I know that country has become a genre that we're seeing more and more here in Las Vegas.
- 24:10Sean McAllister: Over there at Resorts World, we have Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan performing on stage.
- 24:14Sean McAllister: Um, we have other properties housing Keith Urban, Garth Brooks, Miranda Lambert.
- 24:21Sean McAllister: Um, do you think country is is gonna keep growing as a genre here?
- 24:27SPEAKER_05: Oh, I I I certainly hope so.
- 24:30SPEAKER_05: Um AEG did an amazing job when we partnered with them during pre-opening, secure the residency with Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood.
- 24:38SPEAKER_05: And since then, you know, I was able to help bring some country onto the lineup with Sam Hunt's couple shows at the theater in April.
- 24:46SPEAKER_05: And I, you know, to answer your question, I definitely think country will continue to expand because as we were referencing with the study, I mean, you know, there's a whole new group of people coming to Vegas, and almost now it's become this destination where if we book a country artist and we book different events around that, where we activate the the bars, the restaurants, maybe we do a special curated cocktail like we've done in the past with certain artists, you you make it a whole weekend instead of just like a one-off concert for a country fan.
- 25:16SPEAKER_05: I think that's been a really unique thing that's been developing here.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, people love to be entertained.
- 25:21Dayna Roselli: Also in that study, I saw entertainment was one of the top three reasons that visitors said that they were satisfied with their visit.
- 25:28Dayna Roselli: So I can only imagine when you guys sit around that table talking about uh who you're going to bring into the property and you're like Sam Hunt, you know, because variety is important too.
- 25:37Dayna Roselli: So you hit, you know, something for everyone, I can only imagine.
- 25:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean, and it's it's an exciting city to work in and be in because every property seems, you know, to focus on their entertainment now.
- 25:49SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's it's a it's a top priority, just like the study pointed out, and it's why we continue to raise the bar and get to know what the consumers want with and and it's important to us as well.
- 25:59Sean McAllister: And one of the other major events that we have here in Las Vegas that kind of helps to skew that visitor age younger is uh EDC.
- 26:08Sean McAllister: And uh you guys, Brent, are doing something cool surrounding EDC this year.
- 26:14Sean McAllister: Explain that.
- 26:15SPEAKER_05: Well, first off, EDC has been an amazing partner of ours since we opened.
- 26:20SPEAKER_05: So we were very grateful for the opportunity to do something with them at this scale.
- 26:24SPEAKER_05: And for a lot of people, to your point, EDC is their entry point into Las Vegas and especially the EDM fans, you know, drawing over hundreds of thousands of people every year to the festival.
- 26:36SPEAKER_05: For many, it's their first time experiencing Vegas.
- 26:39SPEAKER_05: So what we identified as a group was that we wanted to be even more engaged with that consumer and that guest.
- 26:47SPEAKER_05: And the idea of doing a partnership with EDC, doing Hotel EDC, which is essentially the first time that the festival is offering a travel package add-on where an entire part of our property is going to be taken over by the EDC team with their art decor, activations, music.
- 27:06SPEAKER_05: We're gonna have some surprise things happening on property.
- 27:08SPEAKER_05: We have a lot of package components.
- 27:11SPEAKER_05: I mean, we just felt like a no-brainer.
- 27:13SPEAKER_05: And we were actually very honored to be the first hotel to really get to do this kind of scale with EDC.
- 27:19Dayna Roselli: I think that's gonna be popular.
- 27:20Dayna Roselli: And I think even if people don't do the packages, knowing that you're doing this, you'll get a lot of people to even just stop by Resorts World to be a part of it, right?
- 27:28Dayna Roselli: That whole weekend.
- 27:30SPEAKER_05: Oh, that's the hope.
- 27:31SPEAKER_05: So, like I mentioned, we we've got to really create a package that is provided to the guests if they do opt in and want to stay with us, but we have also made sure to create opportunities throughout the weekend that will be announced later on and closer to the festival that will be more open to the public, which we were excited as as well to have that component.
- 27:51Sean McAllister: And kind of uh taking a step back, I know you said that uh, you know, noticing Vegas visitors uh becoming younger and younger, you've been noticing this over the period of a few years, the span of a few years.
- 28:06Sean McAllister: Is there anything that you have your eye on now that you think uh could end up being the trend that defines what we're doing in three, four, five years from now?
- 28:16SPEAKER_05: Oh, that's that's a good question.
- 28:18SPEAKER_05: And the bosses ask that every day, obviously.
- 28:21SPEAKER_05: Uh I would like to predict the future.
- 28:23SPEAKER_05: Um, but what I am focused on is trying to understand what's happening in colleges.
- 28:30SPEAKER_05: Um, that's where I actually started my career about nine years ago in college, and I was putting on concerts myself.
- 28:37SPEAKER_05: And so what I take pride in in this role is really trying to get an understanding of what's trending on college campuses and not even just that, but what are communities of 18 to 23, 24-year-olds listening to right now?
- 28:54SPEAKER_05: What's popular on TikTok?
- 28:56SPEAKER_05: All of this is definitely stuff I I track along with the team.
- 29:00SPEAKER_05: And, you know, just the short answer as well on what do I where do I think things go next?
- 29:05SPEAKER_05: I um I've seen some success with some new area in EDM that haven't really had traditional, I guess, fan bases, very niche stuff, take off.
- 29:16SPEAKER_05: And there are acts that are playing that maybe would have been on a more specialized stage in the past in the festival.
- 29:22SPEAKER_05: Now they're headlining main stages.
- 29:24SPEAKER_05: And that to me is like a real sign of when an artist is starting to translate into a bigger demographic.
- 29:31Dayna Roselli: Really interesting.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: And and when we talk about um Zook group, I'm curious.
- 29:36Dayna Roselli: I just out of nowhere, how are nightclubs doing?
- 29:38Dayna Roselli: Are nightclubs as popular as they have been over the last, I don't know, five, 10 years?
- 29:43Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's always been a thing here.
- 29:45Dayna Roselli: Are you seeing a steady increase, the crowds being the same, more demand?
- 29:50SPEAKER_05: Well, we've been very grateful because Zook came into the market right as COVID kind of started to ease a bit and we were able to open up venues and go back to full capacity.
- 30:04SPEAKER_05: And you know, the timing did work out because to answer your question, I think the the year of lockdown, in a sense, might have really helped nightclubs and day clubs have this new energy to them because I'll tell you, like it is crazy to see the lines of people that want to come in and experience our show, and we take pride in the experience of the guests coming from the moment they arrive on property to they leave the venue.
- 30:30SPEAKER_05: But yeah, I think nightclubs are it's a really good time for nightlife.
- 30:35Dayna Roselli: Do you have any tips for people that want to get in?
- 30:37Dayna Roselli: That's always the big thing for our visitors.
- 30:38Dayna Roselli: They go, How can I get in?
- 30:40Dayna Roselli: Do I have to wait in line?
- 30:41Dayna Roselli: Is there anything I can do to move myself up?
- 30:43Dayna Roselli: What are what are the what are the tips for getting in the club?
- 30:45Sean McAllister: Is there a Vegas revealed special?
- 30:48unknown: Yeah.
- 30:49SPEAKER_05: Um, I I think uh I think the idea of getting there early, I'm always the fan of.
- 30:55SPEAKER_05: Um, I think, you know, we there's an experience, and a lot of people, you know, they they maybe think that the experience starts when the headliner gets on stage, so they'll come closer to that time.
- 31:06SPEAKER_05: And we we know the clubs we go pretty late, but I I do recommend arriving to clubs early because we invest in our opening acts here at Resorts World and Zook, and we put some pretty significant acts that tour as well, not just headliners, to play early in the night so that the guests have a unique experience, you know, even at that time.
- 31:28SPEAKER_05: So I would say definitely arrive early.
- 31:30SPEAKER_05: We've always got surprises.
- 31:32SPEAKER_05: Like there was uh a show where Travis Scott, this was before we had done the residency, just popped up in the middle of a Zed show early into his performance.
- 31:41SPEAKER_05: And it's like you never know at Resorts World and Zook what's gonna happen.
- 31:44SPEAKER_05: And we've had some crazy stuff happen within the first two hours of opening the venue as well.
- 31:49Sean McAllister: So and as you mentioned, you have your eye on that new and emerging talent.
- 31:54Sean McAllister: So if people get there early and and see these acts that you're booking, I mean that that could be the artist that blows up next year.
- 32:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah, well, we um we see some we see that because on our social media, we get we get messages, floods of messages after each show asking us sometimes who's the performer that played before Zed or Tiesto.
- 32:17SPEAKER_05: And we have some of the best in-house residents that they work hard.
- 32:20SPEAKER_05: I mean, they put in four-hour shifts each night, then they come back the next day in the morning and play during the day.
- 32:26SPEAKER_05: And our our local residents, to your point, they're they're they're worth coming to see just them, you know, at times that they do an amazing job.
- 32:34Dayna Roselli: Do you guys look forward to that northern part of the strip where you guys are located to kind of building up a little bit more?
- 32:40Dayna Roselli: Is that gonna help resort's world as a whole kind of bring a new energy?
- 32:44Dayna Roselli: I mean, I know obviously when the resort uh casino was built, there had to be an outlook and a plan.
- 32:50Dayna Roselli: Um, are you looking forward to that?
- 32:52SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
- 32:53SPEAKER_05: The north part of the strip is is definitely getting hot, submerging, and all this great foot traffic that will come.
- 33:00SPEAKER_05: Uh, I think it's just an amazing thing for resorts, well, for our clubs.
- 33:04SPEAKER_05: It's just uh yeah, it's exciting and we're looking forward to it for sure.
- 33:08Sean McAllister: And can you break any news for us, Brent, on anything, anything that you haven't announced yet, any really exciting stuff?
- 33:15Sean McAllister: I'm putting you on the spot here.
- 33:17Sean McAllister: It's worth a shot.
- 33:18SPEAKER_05: Oh, I I love this question because I'm always excited, and we're planning out two years from now.
- 33:23SPEAKER_05: But what I will tell you is we just teased a weekend in July with Kevin Hart.
- 33:27SPEAKER_05: So he's a resident in the theater, and we're doing something special called Heartbeat Weekend, which is where Kevin Hart's curating a lineup different than the typical residents on our roster at Zoo, where Kevin will make an appearance in the club each night and during the days, but we're gonna have very special programming, some names that we all know that don't get to come to Vegas very often.
- 33:48SPEAKER_05: And I think that that would probably be the moment that I'm very excited for.
- 33:51SPEAKER_05: Like I said, we just announced the teaser, and there's a lot of talent coming out with that that will be uh over the next few weeks.
- 33:58SPEAKER_05: So stay tuned.
- 33:59SPEAKER_05: Very cool.
- 34:00SPEAKER_05: I love it.
- 34:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 34:02Dayna Roselli: Listen, I really enjoyed watching Kevin Hart from Resorts World on New Year's Eve.
- 34:06Dayna Roselli: I sat home and watched cool.
- 34:07Dayna Roselli: That was really fun.
- 34:08Dayna Roselli: I loved the whole thing.
- 34:10Dayna Roselli: It was I was laughing.
- 34:11Dayna Roselli: He's funny.
- 34:11Dayna Roselli: I know people have seen him in the theater and uh went to the show that he just recently did and loved it.
- 34:17Dayna Roselli: So um, well, EDC, I want to go back to that.
- 34:20Dayna Roselli: It's hotelleedc.com is the website where people can book the packages, right?
- 34:25SPEAKER_05: Yes, that is correct.
- 34:26Dayna Roselli: Okay, and EDC weekend, and for folks that don't know, it's up at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
- 34:31Dayna Roselli: But, you know, of course, come stay in our hotels down on the strip and all around.
- 34:35Dayna Roselli: But May 19th to the 22nd is when the event is.
- 34:38Dayna Roselli: Sam Hunt's coming in Friday, April 21st, and Saturday, April 22nd.
- 34:43Dayna Roselli: He is a country music superstar, isn't he?
- 34:46SPEAKER_05: Oh, he's the best, and it's a party.
- 34:48SPEAKER_05: So if you want to have a good time with some great music, that that's the show to be at.
- 34:53SPEAKER_05: I think there's gonna be a lot of people excited for that one.
- 34:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, and hopefully the weather cooperates by then, and it's it we can keep the party going during the day and then bring it into the concert at night.
- 35:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's that's the dream.
- 35:06SPEAKER_05: And uh, you know, we'll be we'll be programmed throughout the whole weekend with some special stuff we'll be announcing that tie into the Sam Hunt style, and it'll be just like we were saying, uh, a whole weekend for Sam Hunt fans to have a great time at Resorts World.
- 35:20SPEAKER_05: Awesome.
- 35:20Dayna Roselli: Well, Brent Freed, entertainment director over at Resorts World.
- 35:24Dayna Roselli: Thank you so much.
- 35:24Dayna Roselli: Listen, uh, ping us, keep us in you know, on your Rolodex and keep in touch.
- 35:29Dayna Roselli: And if you've ever got anything you want to get out there, let us know.
- 35:33SPEAKER_05: I appreciate your guys' time.
- 35:34Sean McAllister: I'm looking forward to chatting more.
- 35:36Sean McAllister: It was great to talk with Brent, and by the way, also happening over at Resorts World.
- 35:41Sean McAllister: They're getting ready to open um the world's largest immersive art exhibit.
- 35:46Sean McAllister: It's called Transfix.
- 35:49Sean McAllister: Uh, this is going to open April 21st.
- 35:51Sean McAllister: Uh, as we get closer in the next couple weeks, we're gonna have more on everything that uh is a part of Transfix.
- 35:59Sean McAllister: I mean, it's everything from sculptures to live performance.
- 36:02Sean McAllister: So we think that's gonna be really cool, and we'll kind of dive deep into that um in the next couple weeks here on Vegas Revealed.
- 36:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we were invited to a preview the day before it opens.
- 36:12Dayna Roselli: I plan to go to that as long as we don't have work.
- 36:15Dayna Roselli: So, if so, we'll get a little bit of a heads up on that and and what it looks like inside.
- 36:19Dayna Roselli: It looks pretty cool.
- 36:20Dayna Roselli: Hey, quick side note Brent Freed that we just interviewed, you know, he's 28 years old.
- 36:25Dayna Roselli: He's one of the youngest entertainment industry executives in Las Vegas.
- 36:28Dayna Roselli: I thought that was interesting.
- 36:30Sean McAllister: And I now feel really old and very underaccomplished.
- 36:36Dayna Roselli: Very, oh my gosh, interesting.
- 36:38Dayna Roselli: All right, let's do some tips.
- 36:43Dayna Roselli: We have a mall on the strip.
- 36:45Dayna Roselli: We have several of them actually, but uh Fashion Show is one of our malls that's not in a hotel casino.
- 36:50Dayna Roselli: And it's a great spot.
- 36:52Dayna Roselli: I know a lot of people that visit Las Vegas and a lot of Las Vegas locals go there.
- 36:56Dayna Roselli: Uh, something that they're going to be doing, I just wanted to let people know because I thought this was really cool, especially in the world of social media and photographs, and people love a cool experience.
- 37:07Dayna Roselli: Um, scattered throughout the mall, they have a bunch of kind of activations that are going to be available this year.
- 37:14Dayna Roselli: Uh, one of them a selfie studio, and it's this like interactive photo experience where you can, you know, go on this journey through like different decades.
- 37:22Dayna Roselli: So that sounds fun.
- 37:23Dayna Roselli: They have the summertime happiness and Mikasa Your Casa 2.0.
- 37:28Dayna Roselli: Um, so it's apparently backed by popular demand.
- 37:31Dayna Roselli: They've had it before, but they call it the ultimate happy place, and it's over at the Great Hall, and it's gonna have like vibrant decorations, Instagrammable pop-ups, uh enhancing kind of the summer fun.
- 37:45Dayna Roselli: So lots of really cool pictures there.
- 37:48Dayna Roselli: Sounds like a lot of fun.
- 37:49Dayna Roselli: Um, they have the You Are Beautiful experience returning for a second year.
- 37:53Dayna Roselli: It's an immersive activation that's going to celebrate self-love.
- 37:57Dayna Roselli: So that sounds fun.
- 37:58Dayna Roselli: Um that sounds a little dirty.
- 38:00Dayna Roselli: I know it does, right?
- 38:01Dayna Roselli: But it's apparently in partnership with this artist, Matthew Hoffman.
- 38:04Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 38:04Dayna Roselli: And it features words of affirmation, like and five pop-up elements and impacting, uh, uplifting experience.
- 38:13Dayna Roselli: So it sounds like it's you know not dirty, not dirty, and it'll be good for the gram, the Instagram.
- 38:20Dayna Roselli: Um, and then in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and Mexican Independence Day, um, the fashion show is also gonna host a colorful interactive art installation whose name means spinning tops in Spanish and draws its inspiration from the popular childhood toy.
- 38:38Dayna Roselli: So that sounds fun too.
- 38:40Dayna Roselli: So I could go more in depth than all that, but I just wanted you to know there's some really cool things.
- 38:43Dayna Roselli: If you want to get some cool pictures over at the fashion show, you can shop and stop and take some pictures, enjoy the exhibits, and have some fun too.
- 38:53Sean McAllister: And by the way, it's called fashion show because they actually have fashion shows right in the grand hall of uh the mall.
- 39:01Sean McAllister: There's a runway that raises up out of the ground, and you can sit and see some of the fashions that are available in the stores there, so which is a really cool thing, and they have activations all the time.
- 39:13Sean McAllister: All the time.
- 39:14Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's great.
- 39:15Sean McAllister: Um, also, uh, we wanted to let you know tip number two, uh, get ready for construction all on and around the Las Vegas Strip.
- 39:26Sean McAllister: And this is all in preparation of the Formula One Grand Prix race coming to Las Vegas, coming up uh later in the fall.
- 39:34Sean McAllister: But from now through mid-September, there is road construction happening because they need to repave the course that these cars are going to be uh driving on.
- 39:47Sean McAllister: Um, and that work has started, it's begun.
- 39:50Sean McAllister: We see it on the roads around Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 39:54Sean McAllister: Eventually, we're going to be seeing it on Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 39:57Sean McAllister: So we just want you to be aware that from now through uh September, into September, actually, uh, you are going to experience uh some road construction and delays and congestion if you're driving in to uh have a vacation on the strip, if you're driving to the strip to see a show for dinner, anything like that.
- 40:22Sean McAllister: So just keep it in mind, plan ahead, um, plan extra time to get around.
- 40:28Sean McAllister: I know I need to program myself to do that.
- 40:31SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 40:31Sean McAllister: Um, because I I uh seem to think that I can get anywhere around Las Vegas in a half hour, but lately that has not been cutting it, and I need to boost it up to 45 minutes.
- 40:42Dayna Roselli: I know with the construction.
- 40:43Dayna Roselli: And even if they do do work overnight, the cones are still out in the day.
- 40:47Dayna Roselli: They are so it's like they may not be exactly working, but you're still gonna have like, yeah, lane restrictions and stuff.
- 40:54Dayna Roselli: So it and in this is really gonna make sense because it we're we're heading into summer where it gets really hot here.
- 41:00Dayna Roselli: The whole thing's gonna be a hot mess.
- 41:02Sean McAllister: It is.
- 41:04Sean McAllister: And by the way, that big drop a canna construction project is still going on too.
- 41:09Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 41:09Dayna Roselli: I went through it the other day.
- 41:10Dayna Roselli: We were coming back from a project uh that we did with um Luke Bryan and Olympia Companies, and that concert was great by the way, and that fundraiser was amazing, but I got stuck in Drop of Canna because I wasn't thinking.
- 41:22Dayna Roselli: I did the whole, I'm just gonna go straight because the ramp to the 215 looks backed up.
- 41:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 41:26Dayna Roselli: And then there I was.
- 41:28Dayna Roselli: It wasn't horrible, it could have been worse, but I would say it was a slow crawl in that small section for about 10-15 minutes.
- 41:37Dayna Roselli: So it was still a pain.
- 41:39Dayna Roselli: So I listened to Taylor Swift and I got through it.
- 41:41Dayna Roselli: Oh, good.
- 41:42Dayna Roselli: Taylor will put a smile on your face.
- 41:45Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 41:45Dayna Roselli: Hey, listen, um, we have so much to talk about all the time.

- 42:08Sean McAllister: Well, it's it's gotten really hard and confusing to use, to be perfectly honest.
- 42:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, they know it's like a mishmash of all sorts of stuff.
- 42:14Dayna Roselli: Sort that out, right?
- 42:15Sean McAllister: Zuckerberg, if you're listening, like I don't know.
- 42:20Sean McAllister: Figure it out.
- 42:21Sean McAllister: Go back to the old way.
