- 2:46Speaker 3: Alrighty, welcome back to the Son of a Boy Dad podcast.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Today.
- 2:49Speaker 3: It is Wednesday, September third, three thirty four pm.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Wow.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I'm not going to comment on the time it was
- 3:04Speaker 3: prior to that, it was three thirty three yem, the
- 3:07Speaker 3: Devil's Hour.
- 3:11Speaker 4: You told me as part of that defense that sixty
- 3:15Speaker 4: sixty six was in your handle. Oh yeah, your handle
- 3:20Speaker 4: is little Sasquatch sixty six.
- 3:22Speaker 3: On Instagram it's three sixes though really yeah, Unfortunately, why
- 3:27Speaker 3: did you do that? Because six to six was taken?
- 3:30Speaker 3: Someone stole it?
- 3:32Speaker 1: Wait, you wanted to have two sixes not three?
- 3:34Speaker 3: Yeah, obviously I don't want three. I'm like an edge lord.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Why didn't you just why didn't you just go like
- 3:40Speaker 4: six six zero or something?
- 3:42Speaker 1: That doesn't well, what's the six to six?
- 3:45Speaker 3: That was just what the number was on everything.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Else, So why do you want it?
- 3:49Speaker 4: Then?
- 3:49Speaker 3: That's my uh it was my hockey number and actually
- 3:53Speaker 3: I grew up Yeah no, yeah, really real emeal. Wow, yeah, but.
- 3:59Speaker 1: But is there's such a clear correlation to the six
- 4:02Speaker 1: six six?
- 4:02Speaker 3: Like yeah, but I mean you got We don't have
- 4:05Speaker 3: to have this conversation again, but.
- 4:07Speaker 4: It's that conversation. It's a different conversation. You just learned
- 4:10Speaker 4: a lot. Learning that your hockey number was sixty six
- 4:14Speaker 4: is a wonderful piece of information.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:16Speaker 3: I've probably said that somewhere, never definitely, this.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Is here we go.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Who's sixty six?
- 4:20Speaker 3: Yoger no mex lemiux yeah the mew.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah that's sick. Yeah, that's six six sick.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Not a bad number?
- 4:30Speaker 4: Sixty six?
- 4:31Speaker 3: Yeah, what was your number.
- 4:35Speaker 4: In last you know, I wore in college?
- 4:38Speaker 3: Like did you, cause I know lacrosse did Like do
- 4:40Speaker 3: you get do you get a new jersey every year
- 4:42Speaker 3: or is it like they just use they have like
- 4:43Speaker 3: this is the team's jerseys.
- 4:46Speaker 4: We got new jerseys.
- 4:47Speaker 3: You got new jerseys.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Yeah, but numbers.
- 4:49Speaker 4: But my freshman year I was sixteen, and then my
- 4:53Speaker 4: senior year I was NINEE is clean?
- 4:57Speaker 3: Nine is clean. I was gonna say, I always wish
- 5:00Speaker 3: that I had a one digit. One digit's nice.
- 5:03Speaker 1: My boy Mike just got baseball jerseys for my two
- 5:05Speaker 1: young boys, and he their birthday's four to nine. He
- 5:08Speaker 1: got one of four and one and nine. It's like
- 5:10Speaker 1: maybe those will be their numbers forever.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Yeah, that was the goal. That's cool walk into a number.
- 5:15Speaker 4: There was a quarterback numbers four as a quarterback.
- 5:17Speaker 1: They're not going to be quarterback. I am. I was
- 5:23Speaker 1: in grade school football. I was big number sixty two.
- 5:27Speaker 4: Sixty two two gross.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Really off foot every sport like sixty two. The year
- 5:36Speaker 1: nineteen sixty two. Everything about sixty.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Two is yeah. They should take that number and do
- 5:40Speaker 4: what they did, Like what what hotels do with the
- 5:42Speaker 4: number thirteen on the elevator? No AE shall ever wear
- 5:47Speaker 4: sixty two.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Kel Jason Kelsey's a big sixty two?
- 5:52Speaker 4: Is he a big sixty two? Yeah?
- 5:53Speaker 1: Retired sixty two?
- 5:54Speaker 3: Is that why you picked that number?
- 5:56Speaker 4: No, I was.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Fucking Jason Kelsey. We're the same age. Jason Kelsey was
- 6:01Speaker 1: also in great school wearing number sixty two.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Maybe it was just like a deep like middle school recruit. Yeah,
- 6:07Speaker 3: you guys knew he was gonna be special. I knew
- 6:08Speaker 3: Big Kels was going to be special. Everyone wears sixty
- 6:11Speaker 3: two Ton Kelsey. Did you see his most recent interview
- 6:15Speaker 3: with how Black?
- 6:15Speaker 1: His hair was dyed like the interview, he had his
- 6:19Speaker 1: beard dyed like super dark black.
- 6:21Speaker 3: I always think that looks awful.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Blaine Johnson came in and was like Billy May's here
- 6:27Speaker 1: I was dying. Looked like deep pull Yeah dead r
- 6:33Speaker 1: P r P.
- 6:34Speaker 3: The same week as MJ.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yeah, poor guy's.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Two back to back daggers.
- 6:42Speaker 1: To top of their field. Was he on he he did?
- 6:45Speaker 3: He did? He was he on drugs?
- 6:48Speaker 1: He was on he was on oxy? Yeah, I know
- 6:51Speaker 1: he did oxy clean was.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, but I think he was on oxy too.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Dying of oxy and having yeah, having oxy get you
- 6:59Speaker 1: clean out of here as bad.
- 7:00Speaker 3: That had to have been a like like not to
- 7:03Speaker 3: sound you know, like I'm just ignoring the fact that
- 7:07Speaker 3: he died. But that had to have been like a
- 7:08Speaker 3: pr nightmare for oxy Clean.
- 7:11Speaker 1: No, they left his commercials on for like a decade.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Act.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Wait, what if the dude that is the face of
- 7:18Speaker 3: your company dies from the drug that so happens to
- 7:22Speaker 3: be the same name as the company.
- 7:24Speaker 4: I'm confused. I don't I don't know what happened. But
- 7:27Speaker 4: you just said oxy Clean.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Yeah, Clean was the product that Billy Mays was the
- 7:32Speaker 1: pitchman for.
- 7:33Speaker 4: When you said he died of oxy, I certainly thought
- 7:36Speaker 4: you meant an overdose on oxy.
- 7:38Speaker 3: That is that is what I mean.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Are you making a I'm so sorry. I'm a little lost.
- 7:43Speaker 1: It was cocaine, but he was saying that that unhappy
- 7:47Speaker 1: coincidence that the guy, the Oxy Cotten pitchman.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I didn't know it died from cocaine. Yeah, I didn't
- 7:54Speaker 3: even know that was possible.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I think he died on like a plane or something
- 7:57Speaker 1: like that.
- 7:57Speaker 4: I don't know. I'm gonna not thinking of Roy Hollid a.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Heart disease and coke. Yeah, that'll do it. Probably just
- 8:04Speaker 3: want to stay away from coke if you have a
- 8:06Speaker 3: heart disease.
- 8:08Speaker 1: No, no, no, you do? You do? And who is
- 8:12Speaker 1: the other pitch man wasn't there? Like the sham wau guy. Yeah,
- 8:15Speaker 1: do you know who I'm talking about? Like the skinny,
- 8:17Speaker 1: spiky haired, clay ache and looking motherfucker who is like
- 8:20Speaker 1: this sham wow guy. That used to be like one
- 8:24Speaker 1: of like the ten jobs that you could get being
- 8:27Speaker 1: a pitch man. Like there, pitchman used to be a
- 8:29Speaker 1: real thing. Oh yeah, and then a couple of years ago,
- 8:32Speaker 1: one of my boys tried to get into pitch manning
- 8:34Speaker 1: and he was good at it, but it's just like
- 8:36Speaker 1: it was too late.
- 8:38Speaker 4: That's like the pitch manning the son of Arch.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Their latest quarterback sucks.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Nobody throws a pitch like Pitch.
- 8:48Speaker 3: He was struggling pitch Arch.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Yeah, Arch couldn't. But he was playing against Ohio State,
- 8:54Speaker 1: who has like their safety is going to be like
- 8:56Speaker 1: the top five pick in the draft. They're they're stacked,
- 9:00Speaker 1: but he's defending champions. Yeah, but they're defending solid roster.
- 9:04Speaker 1: He's gonna be just fine. If you don't want to
- 9:07Speaker 1: draft it, you don't have to.
- 9:08Speaker 3: But I think he's got I think he's got an
- 9:10Speaker 3: arrogance problem, and I think the league needs to make
- 9:12Speaker 3: an example.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Draft to the fifth.
- 9:19Speaker 1: They're not gonna want the billion dollars in Jersey sales
- 9:22Speaker 1: for whoever drafts him. You guys see that Red Zone
- 9:25Speaker 1: is getting commercials.
- 9:26Speaker 7: I did.
- 9:26Speaker 3: I just think, yeah, supposedly, I mean, well, no, not
- 9:29Speaker 3: supposedly directly from the source. Uh you say supposedly. The
- 9:39Speaker 3: guy that hosts the show publicly stated there will be commercials,
- 9:43Speaker 3: but but allegedly. But what I saw was that like
- 9:48Speaker 3: he and I don't know if it's I mean where
- 9:51Speaker 3: You're like, what are your like immediate thoughts on it?
- 9:53Speaker 1: Are you? Are you going to ruin the project?
- 9:54Speaker 3: Ruins the product completely? But he's saying that they're not
- 9:57Speaker 3: gonna skip any big play. He's like, no big plays
- 10:00Speaker 3: will be skipped. But what I think is gonna happen
- 10:02Speaker 3: is that they won't skip them. That's just gonna be
- 10:04Speaker 3: they'll show them. They show them late.
- 10:05Speaker 1: They're show them fifteen minutes late. Yeah, that sucks. That's
- 10:08Speaker 1: not what you're in it for.
- 10:09Speaker 3: It's not the only people that people that are watching
- 10:10Speaker 3: Red Zone. It's like ninety percent of them are betting.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Ninety percent of them have a fantasy team, like it's
- 10:16Speaker 3: one of the two most average. Most people that like
- 10:18Speaker 3: aren't that into football, that are just sitting down to
- 10:20Speaker 3: watch football don't have like the big TV with the
- 10:23Speaker 3: red zone on the side, Like it's not.
- 10:26Speaker 1: They don't have the Rico Bosco stupid.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Yeah yeah exactly. So adding commercials in it takes out
- 10:31Speaker 3: the real If you're taking out the real time following along,
- 10:35Speaker 3: I feel like that's like a massive down grade.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it sucks ass, Yeah, it ruins it. And I
- 10:41Speaker 1: think that people football should be accessible. And is it
- 10:44Speaker 1: red zone and premium? Isn't it like yeah, dollars a month.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Or something like that, Yes, for the whole year.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Yes, you only get it a couple months a year.
- 10:51Speaker 1: It's like a teacher salary.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, fucking bullshit. It's pretty insane. I mean,
- 10:58Speaker 3: I feel like.
- 10:59Speaker 4: It's a.
- 11:01Speaker 3: It's it's just a bad move from ESPN.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I might join you in your boycott of football this
- 11:07Speaker 1: year because of it, Francis.
- 11:09Speaker 4: I'm gonna be excited about football this year.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, Well you're more of a poker man. I
- 11:15Speaker 1: know that for a fact.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Well, uh, you're a poker guy.
- 11:19Speaker 4: No, you don't play any card games I play.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Just Dad Hitler.
- 11:25Speaker 4: What's that?
- 11:26Speaker 3: What's it called Secret Hitler?
- 11:28Speaker 4: Secret Hitler. I haven't played that in a long time.
- 11:31Speaker 3: I didn't know that was a real game.
- 11:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:33Speaker 3: I thought you guys just like came up with it.
- 11:35Speaker 3: And then I saw the box for it on Roan's desk.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I got Secret Hitler downstairs.
- 11:40Speaker 4: Yeah. The Hitler of State gets like two bucks from
- 11:42Speaker 4: every game sold.
- 11:44Speaker 3: It was a.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Licensing agreement that they had to make. But the game
- 11:48Speaker 4: was so good that everyone said that's fine.
- 11:52Speaker 1: And the descendants still try to change their name, and
- 11:54Speaker 1: then the.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Mattel's like, you get this Hitler, I'm pro change what
- 12:01Speaker 3: I think they got to change the name of the game. Yeah,
- 12:04Speaker 3: that's why people are buying board game.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Who had the joke, sass about the fact that there's
- 12:10Speaker 4: no more Hitler's you can't name like a kid Hitler anyone?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Was it norm It sounds like it'd be normal, Louis, Yeah,
- 12:18Speaker 3: it was.
- 12:19Speaker 4: One of the other I think I can't remember exactly who.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I mean, you could name them Adolph because oh.
- 12:25Speaker 4: No, maybe that was the joke. It was like, no
- 12:27Speaker 4: one's been named Adolf, You've never named well.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Dolph Lungren was named ad was he pretty sure?
- 12:32Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 12:33Speaker 1: Dolphins. Dolph Schayes was a basketball player. There's some Dolphs
- 12:38Speaker 1: around here.
- 12:38Speaker 4: Wow.
- 12:39Speaker 1: The Miami Dolphins, of course, were named after Adolf Hitler
- 12:45Speaker 1: Gold Dolphins.
- 12:47Speaker 3: There is a Dolph is just you're just yet you're
- 12:50Speaker 3: snicking by.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Wait a second, where's that come from?
- 12:55Speaker 3: Parents leaving the hospital with Dolph on the on the
- 12:59Speaker 3: birth certificate?
- 13:00Speaker 1: That's gonna be such a nice drive in the writing.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Once you get it, Once you get it in and
- 13:04Speaker 1: no one checks you. Let's see your papers, all right?
- 13:10Speaker 4: Good to go.
- 13:11Speaker 1: You just sprint to your car. We got one by them.
- 13:15Speaker 1: It's a gratifying feeling.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Poor h Man, What makes you think this year is
- 13:21Speaker 3: going to be a bigger football year for you?
- 13:23Speaker 4: Each year of the last couple of years, I've gotten more,
- 13:26Speaker 4: increasingly more interested. I would probably attribute that to my
- 13:30Speaker 4: proximity to you, too.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Really, because I feel like, and I'm not even genuinely
- 13:37Speaker 3: think this, I think when I met you, and maybe
- 13:40Speaker 3: it was just because we weren't as close, so you
- 13:42Speaker 3: were just like we were just talking, but I feel
- 13:44Speaker 3: like you knew a lot about football, and you talk
- 13:47Speaker 3: about football a lot. And then I feel like last
- 13:49Speaker 3: year when we started talking about football, you you like,
- 13:53Speaker 3: purposely like checked out.
- 13:55Speaker 4: I'm not. I never purpose like you guys have. You
- 13:59Speaker 4: guys have I guess intel that it goes a tier
- 14:03Speaker 4: beyond what I'm capable of. You guys know players that
- 14:08Speaker 4: I don't know. You know, fucking salary stuff.
- 14:11Speaker 3: And schemes, and.
- 14:13Speaker 4: You guys are more involved in that sort of imagine.
- 14:17Speaker 4: You know, there's like a I don't know, FIFA game
- 14:19Speaker 4: where you like manage a team. Yeah, yeah, I like,
- 14:22Speaker 4: you guys are capable of doing that. I could never
- 14:24Speaker 4: do that.
- 14:24Speaker 1: No, you could do my career.
- 14:26Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't know if.
- 14:27Speaker 3: It's made for seven year olds.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Don't insult me.
- 14:32Speaker 3: You could definitely do my career.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Well, maybe that's the gateway drug you need, because when
- 14:36Speaker 1: I started playing FIFA, I gained a newfound love for
- 14:40Speaker 1: the sweet science of football. And I think that if
- 14:44Speaker 1: you just played a little bit of video game, maybe
- 14:46Speaker 1: you learn the players a little bit faster.
- 14:48Speaker 4: You know, there's been this effort, it seems to get
- 14:52Speaker 4: me into video games, and I don't know what to
- 14:57Speaker 4: tell you. I don't want catching on. It's it was
- 15:00Speaker 4: such a fucking slippery slope. It is because I become
- 15:04Speaker 4: I become obsessed with improving.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Oh no, I believe you.
- 15:07Speaker 4: And if I get a video game, I will, you
- 15:11Speaker 4: know thing, I'll I'll play it until. Yeah.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I remember when we went to San Francisco and we
- 15:15Speaker 3: played twenty forty eight on the plane.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Yeah, we were.
- 15:19Speaker 3: It was like we had an early AS flight. It
- 15:21Speaker 3: was like seven am out of like JFK and we
- 15:24Speaker 3: and it was it's it's it was a direct flight
- 15:26Speaker 3: to San Francisco. It's like a seven hour flight.
- 15:29Speaker 1: It's like faster to get to eight.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Yeah, literally, and uh. And I was like fucking around
- 15:35Speaker 3: playing twenty forty eight on the TV like before we
- 15:37Speaker 3: took off, and then Francis was like, oh, I'm gonna
- 15:39Speaker 3: try playing it. And I never played it.
- 15:41Speaker 4: I had him disas, had to tell me the rules.
- 15:43Speaker 3: I had to tell him how to play. And then
- 15:44Speaker 3: I woke up like six hours later and he was
- 15:47Speaker 3: still playing.
- 15:47Speaker 4: And I wasn't even sad. My my seat was still reclined,
- 15:50Speaker 4: but I was sitting up. I was so I had
- 15:54Speaker 4: the worst headache. Do you remember I had to lie
- 15:56Speaker 4: down in the green room that night in the show
- 15:58Speaker 4: because I was a hitting Migreen and it was from
- 16:01Speaker 4: Not only did I play the entire flight, I then
- 16:04Speaker 4: downloaded on my phone a second we got we landed,
- 16:07Speaker 4: and I presume to play it for the rest of
- 16:09Speaker 4: the day until the show on my phone.
- 16:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 3: I mean that's just that's just someone who hasn't been
- 16:16Speaker 3: exposed to actually good video games. Because that game, you
- 16:18Speaker 3: shouldn't be getting hooked on it like that.
- 16:21Speaker 4: It's pretty addictive, I would say.
- 16:23Speaker 3: I'd say, I mean it is like like phone games
- 16:25Speaker 3: are like a different type of like like it's I
- 16:30Speaker 3: feel like it's more out of boredom than that of like, oh,
- 16:32Speaker 3: I've gotta.
- 16:32Speaker 4: Play this game.
- 16:33Speaker 1: What do you think the most noble thing that you
- 16:35Speaker 1: could get good at is other than seventeen thirty eight
- 16:39Speaker 1: or whatever game you're playing. Yeah, fetty game.
- 16:43Speaker 4: That's a good question. I want to say, you know, triage.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Like and explain that to the viewers who don't know
- 16:51Speaker 3: what triage is.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I think, like, I'm going a wound.
- 16:54Speaker 4: If you were yeah, if you were like an incredible
- 16:56Speaker 4: triage nurse or triage doctor. Oh yeah, and you were
- 17:00Speaker 4: in you know, fucking war zone or something like that,
- 17:03Speaker 4: and you're stitching up wounded soldiers and civilians your Third
- 17:08Speaker 4: world countries, places like that. I think of in Band
- 17:10Speaker 4: of Brothers, the church in the town in Bastone where
- 17:14Speaker 4: the medic goes back to and he sees the nurse.
- 17:17Speaker 1: But you can't do that as a hobby though. They
- 17:20Speaker 1: be like, You're like, Dan, we were talking.
- 17:24Speaker 4: You just said what's the best thing, what's the most
- 17:26Speaker 4: noble thing you could get good at?
- 17:27Speaker 3: You?
- 17:28Speaker 4: Oh, I didn't even know who's talking about me.
- 17:31Speaker 1: You personally like, how can you use this pursuit of
- 17:34Speaker 1: getting good at things for them to better your life?
- 17:37Speaker 1: You know, like you get a machine for best?
- 17:41Speaker 4: Sorry?
- 17:41Speaker 1: Sorry, no, I don't mind if you were just like
- 17:45Speaker 1: lurking outside of hospitals like you guys need to hand
- 17:48Speaker 1: with that, Like I am the best in the biz.
- 17:51Speaker 3: A tough hobby to break into. Finding people who.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Are bleeding out is probably the hardest part.
- 17:56Speaker 4: You got to start triage early. Yeah, that's a good question.
- 18:01Speaker 4: No for some For me that what I could get
- 18:04Speaker 4: good at that, I don't have any experience.
- 18:06Speaker 3: And I guess what's something you want to get good
- 18:08Speaker 3: at or a noble that is noble as well?
- 18:12Speaker 1: Like cooking. You're good at cooking. You're a good cook.
- 18:14Speaker 1: So you've like, I wouldn't say mastered that, but you've
- 18:16Speaker 1: gone down that path. You're in good shape with your body.
- 18:20Speaker 1: You're going to stand.
- 18:21Speaker 4: I kind of wish that I would rediscover sort of
- 18:23Speaker 4: a love for playing the piano, honestly. Oh yeah. I
- 18:28Speaker 4: was sitting down and trying to play some classical pieces
- 18:31Speaker 4: and just like sight read them the other day. And
- 18:33Speaker 4: I spent a lot of years studying that and taking lessons,
- 18:38Speaker 4: and I hated it as a kid, but I was
- 18:40Speaker 4: pretty good at reading music and I was just trying
- 18:43Speaker 4: to do that again. And man, it is fucking hard.
- 18:45Speaker 4: If you don't keep it up, you lose it quickly.
- 18:48Speaker 4: It's not like riding a bike. Yeah, I lost it
- 18:51Speaker 4: reading music, and and you know difficult. I was playing
- 18:54Speaker 4: show Pa. I was like trying to play one of
- 18:56Speaker 4: the atudes or something, and I've heard the piece, so
- 19:00Speaker 4: I know how it's supposed to sound. It really bothered
- 19:03Speaker 4: me how I just couldn't make it. Yeah, yeah, you
- 19:07Speaker 4: know that way frustrating. So yeah, I'd be thinking it'd
- 19:11Speaker 4: be cool as a I think a lot of the
- 19:15Speaker 4: things that I would want to do from this point
- 19:17Speaker 4: forward in my life would be activities that would keep
- 19:19Speaker 4: my mind sharp and potentially stave off Alzheimer's.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Knitting, Yeah, just.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Like knitting is honestly fun. The problem is there's a
- 19:28Speaker 3: little bit of a stigma around it for men.
- 19:32Speaker 1: But you did not just say knitting is fun.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Yeah you could get into knitting, have you? But dude,
- 19:37Speaker 3: when I grew up, I would be me sitting on
- 19:39Speaker 3: a couch surrounded by like nine different women. You're in
- 19:43Speaker 3: a sewing sple, actively knitting for hours. You're for like
- 19:48Speaker 3: ten hours a day.
- 19:49Speaker 1: What the fuck?
- 19:50Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 19:50Speaker 3: Talking about Oh, I wouldn't do it. That's just from
- 19:53Speaker 3: my family.
- 19:54Speaker 1: I grew up with like all women, and you would
- 19:56Speaker 1: all knit together.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Why did you have nine women in the house?
- 19:59Speaker 3: Because my all my my mom's side of the family
- 20:01Speaker 3: all lives around each other. And my mom has three
- 20:03Speaker 3: sisters and I have three sisters, and I have five
- 20:07Speaker 3: girl cousins.
- 20:09Speaker 4: So they all just came over like a salon.
- 20:12Speaker 3: We would go to my grandparents on the Cape because
- 20:15Speaker 3: my grandparents my mom's from Cape Cots, so my grandparents
- 20:18Speaker 3: lived there. We would drive down. My cousins lived in Illinois.
- 20:21Speaker 3: They would live there for the summer, and then my
- 20:23Speaker 3: other cousins lived in Massachusetts and they would also drive down.
- 20:26Speaker 4: So at your grandparents house.
- 20:28Speaker 3: There would be there was a there were they had
- 20:30Speaker 3: a yard with a tree and.
- 20:31Speaker 4: A seventeen sheep or something and a bunch.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Of iron deck chairs around it. Yeah, and they would
- 20:37Speaker 3: all sit in the chairs and just sit and knit.
- 20:39Speaker 1: The tire and they if I talk crazy shit.
- 20:41Speaker 4: Oh yeah, and so and you would join them.
- 20:44Speaker 3: It wasn't really like I was like, hey, can I
- 20:46Speaker 3: come over and join you guys anything. It was like
- 20:48Speaker 3: that's where I was that day, like.
- 20:51Speaker 4: The chairs around the tree.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Yeah, pretty much. I mean I wasn't knitting.
- 20:55Speaker 1: It wasn't actually.
- 20:56Speaker 4: All or croquet or swimming or anything like that.
- 20:59Speaker 3: No, we would swim, but we didn't play ball or croquet.
- 21:02Speaker 4: Now, No, it was either swimming or knitting. He's literally yes,
- 21:05Speaker 4: as soon as your hands are dry, you pick up
- 21:07Speaker 4: that school.
- 21:07Speaker 3: It was swimming, knitting or like watching something on TV.
- 21:11Speaker 3: But we weren't really allowed to so.
- 21:13Speaker 1: You had to knit. Who's who's a ringleader of the knitting?
- 21:17Speaker 3: I don't know. It was really just my grandma.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Was this like a time sister or something like Malas
- 21:24Speaker 4: for fucking winter.
- 21:25Speaker 3: They were always knitting and what were you knitting? I
- 21:29Speaker 3: was never knitting. No, I never I said I was
- 21:34Speaker 3: around that it was fun.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I mean it's it's fun to be around.
- 21:38Speaker 3: It's a fun little thing to do.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Roan, Am I being gasolit again by Harry because I
- 21:45Speaker 4: certainly seemed to think he started this by saying that
- 21:47Speaker 4: he and nine women in a circle.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Yes, I wouldn't sit, I would sit around them while
- 21:53Speaker 3: they would hit. I might I might have. I might
- 21:56Speaker 3: have said it wrong. I didn't knit a ton. Yeah,
- 22:02Speaker 3: I grew up with this. I grew up around the sticks.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Did you ever put stick to twine?
- 22:09Speaker 3: I think I put stick to twine once and I
- 22:12Speaker 3: did get a good chunk going. But the problem is
- 22:15Speaker 3: you got to stick with it literally like I got
- 22:17Speaker 3: like like I think I set out to make a scarf.
- 22:20Speaker 3: There are everyone's yeah, and I think I set up
- 22:24Speaker 3: to make a scarf. And I think I got like
- 22:26Speaker 3: this far, Like I had like that much scarf made.
- 22:29Speaker 4: That's not that's not a scarf.
- 22:33Speaker 3: You made cleaner.
- 22:36Speaker 4: You showed people you can.
- 22:39Speaker 3: I don't even think I could. It was more I
- 22:40Speaker 3: could do like the you know what it is it's
- 22:43Speaker 3: like you you do the you do that, but then
- 22:46Speaker 3: when broke the like the crossover when you're going to
- 22:49Speaker 3: a new layer. I never could figure that out.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Well that's women's DNA. Yeah, to be able to do
- 22:56Speaker 1: that from the basket weaving times and the like, and
- 22:59Speaker 1: when you would have to like thatch a roof or
- 23:01Speaker 1: something like that.
- 23:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:03Speaker 3: No, they were doing it purely just for love of
- 23:05Speaker 3: the game. It wasn't like they were doing like they
- 23:06Speaker 3: were trying to like supply us with warmth.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Do you have any of the sweaters or anything that
- 23:11Speaker 1: were like hand in it.
- 23:13Speaker 3: No? No, I don't even know if they ever finished anything.
- 23:18Speaker 4: This is spooky, I'm gonna be honest. The idea of
- 23:21Speaker 4: nine women that are all related and perfect, like there's
- 23:25Speaker 4: three in each family, no more, no less. And they
- 23:30Speaker 4: set out a tree and there's a tree in the middle.
- 23:33Speaker 4: You're saying, yeah, the.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Tree was more like to the right, everyone was under
- 23:37Speaker 3: the tree. I see great spot for shade.
- 23:39Speaker 4: That's better because I thought the tree was the center
- 23:41Speaker 4: sort of type thing like Avatar.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Like odd.
- 23:46Speaker 3: I can see where the spookiness comes from.
- 23:48Speaker 4: It gets a little midsummer.
- 23:50Speaker 3: They're all just and they're scaring.
- 23:53Speaker 4: But not to finish the product, just for the sake
- 23:56Speaker 4: of nobody knows why.
- 23:59Speaker 3: I mean, it would be like, you know, there would
- 24:00Speaker 3: be some days where it'll be like everyone's knitting. Then
- 24:03Speaker 3: there would be other days would be like one person
- 24:04Speaker 3: was knitting, two people are reading.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Who's the alpha woman?
- 24:09Speaker 3: I mean we're talking like I'm talking like two thousand
- 24:12Speaker 3: and like six here, different times, twenty years back.
- 24:17Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:18Speaker 1: They had, that's all they had. TV wasn't out yet.
- 24:21Speaker 3: I mean it was, but it wasn't what it is now.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Books, it was like Shark Week is on again, and
- 24:28Speaker 3: you'll watch it because that's the only thing on.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I was never a Shark Week fan.
- 24:34Speaker 3: There was one year that it was good.
- 24:36Speaker 1: It's just all reenacting. Sharknado's No, that was a good stretch.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Sharknado is just a silly movie.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the point though, just silly. It knows it's.
- 24:46Speaker 4: Silly, Harry. Whenever we unearthed a piece of your life
- 24:52Speaker 4: that we don't know, it's my favorite part of the I.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Mean it's not like it was like a dramatic part
- 24:58Speaker 3: of my life. It was more so that's how I grew.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Away it's a little colorful ribbon that nobody else's experienced.
- 25:06Speaker 3: God, the knitting circle, I mean, you guys didn't.
- 25:09Speaker 1: A sewing circle is like a woman's It's like a trope,
- 25:13Speaker 1: like a bunch of women sitting around in a circle.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Gossiping is like you say, sewing circle, and it doesn't
- 25:19Speaker 1: even have to mean people are actually sewing. Your sewing
- 25:21Speaker 1: circle was a literal thing.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely, Yeah, I mean I agree you.
- 25:26Speaker 1: E a contribute to the gossip now.
- 25:28Speaker 3: I mean it would really be like more like you know,
- 25:30Speaker 3: I'd be inside, or I would be swimming, and then
- 25:32Speaker 3: I would go over and ask my mom when we
- 25:35Speaker 3: were eating dinner or if we were leaving soon, and
- 25:38Speaker 3: then I would like probably sit there and complain and
- 25:39Speaker 3: my mom would not pay attention.
- 25:42Speaker 4: What did you did? You have lemonades and nice teas
- 25:44Speaker 4: and stuff like that.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Now we had capri sons nice Those are pretty fucking
- 25:51Speaker 3: about the adults, I don't really remember. They were always
- 25:55Speaker 3: drinking like iced tea or lemonade. Yeah, yeah, I never
- 25:57Speaker 3: liked iced tea too bad. I could go for I mean,
- 26:01Speaker 3: I like I tea.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Now you've grown into corse.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Little sprig of mint squeeze of lemonon.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Chick fil A iced tea.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Oh no, that's fucking pure sugar sweet and that, dude,
- 26:12Speaker 1: I don't want that ship. Have you ever seen the
- 26:15Speaker 1: graphics of how much sugar is in a like a
- 26:18Speaker 1: sweet tea or like a can of coke, Sweet Baby Rays,
- 26:23Speaker 1: barbecue sauce.
- 26:24Speaker 3: There's just sauces I don't count, and I honestly think
- 26:28Speaker 3: no one can. You can't count them, or else you're
- 26:30Speaker 3: just gonna drive yourself nuts.
- 26:31Speaker 1: I was doing that, and when I started using that,
- 26:33Speaker 1: I started using sweet Baby Rays is like in a marinade,
- 26:37Speaker 1: and then like I would for the last two minutes
- 26:39Speaker 1: of cooking it, I would paint sweet Baby Rays onto
- 26:42Speaker 1: everything to lock in the moisture. And then I saw
- 26:45Speaker 1: how much sugar is in it, and it's like that's actually.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Pour some maple syrup on this chicken.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Yeah, just dipped it in sugar as like the insane.
- 27:00Speaker 3: It's really one of the worst feelings there is is
- 27:03Speaker 3: making like a meal at home and then finding out
- 27:06Speaker 3: that it was just insanely unhealthy after the.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Fact his oil and sugar hat.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Oh my god, dude, I had a bad night on Monday.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Yeah, would you take down.
- 27:16Speaker 4: Well, I cooked halibit and I did a really nice
- 27:20Speaker 4: preparation and I was really happy with that. Would you
- 27:24Speaker 4: acquire it?
- 27:25Speaker 3: Where did you get it?
- 27:26Speaker 4: At Whole Foods? But dude, I have a guy sending
- 27:29Speaker 4: me ten point two pounds of king salmon right now.
- 27:33Speaker 1: That's great.
- 27:33Speaker 4: That's what I feel like.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Salmon is the is the true chicken of the sea
- 27:37Speaker 1: when it comes to like fish that you will cook
- 27:40Speaker 1: at home. So I think halibit that's a little bit
- 27:42Speaker 1: of a treat. That's a departure.
- 27:44Speaker 4: Well, I like halibit a lot. It's it's nice and meaty,
- 27:48Speaker 4: so you can it's you know, you don't kill it
- 27:50Speaker 4: when you cook it. This is my guy, Adam. Okay,
- 27:52Speaker 4: shout out to Adam. He catches these king salmon and
- 27:57Speaker 4: he gets tons of them and he's sending me ten
- 28:00Speaker 4: and a half pounds or something. By the way, did
- 28:02Speaker 4: you know that you can get salmon out of a lake? Yeah?
- 28:08Speaker 4: I call me stupid. I didn't know. I'll be salmon
- 28:12Speaker 4: came out of a lake.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Well, I guess they're what they're called landlocked salmon, But
- 28:17Speaker 3: there's I don't know.
- 28:21Speaker 4: He gets them out of lake Michigan.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Yeah, so I believe the way that that works is
- 28:29Speaker 3: that it's connected to.
- 28:35Speaker 4: A river. Yeah, dude, So I thought salmon, right, I
- 28:41Speaker 4: knew this.
- 28:41Speaker 3: I realized that I was thinking about steelhead, which aren't sam.
- 28:44Speaker 4: I knew salmon in Alaska are in rivers, right. Yeah.
- 28:49Speaker 4: And then obviously you farm raised salmon in the Atlantic
- 28:54Speaker 4: or whatever, and those are saltwater salmon.
- 28:57Speaker 3: They are like hybrid.
- 28:59Speaker 4: I just didn't know that. Lakes. I didn't know they
- 29:01Speaker 4: were in all three bodies of water. Next, you're gonna
- 29:04Speaker 4: tell me they're in ponds too. Now, tide pools.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Swimming pools, ponds are nasty sewer drains. They are there,
- 29:17Speaker 3: They're supposedly they're in Lake Michigan.
- 29:19Speaker 4: I think I'd like to have a pond on my
- 29:22Speaker 4: property someday, my forever home.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be nice.
- 29:25Speaker 4: I can swim in.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it's got to be deep enough.
- 29:29Speaker 1: You want to swim in a pond.
- 29:30Speaker 4: Call me crazy, I'm a pond guy.
- 29:33Speaker 1: That's like a recipe for disaster.
- 29:35Speaker 4: You need one of those things in the middle that
- 29:37Speaker 4: moves the water around so that algae doesn't bloom. Yeah.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Fountain, Well, is it a fountain?
- 29:43Speaker 4: I thought, so maybe.
- 29:45Speaker 3: In a pond. Yeah, I think so.
- 29:46Speaker 4: My uncle has a home upstate, not too far from
- 29:50Speaker 4: where I live upstate full time, and uh and uh
- 29:56Speaker 4: he it's a deep pond and there's no algae in it,
- 30:00Speaker 4: and it's not there's no weeds or anything's beautiful swimming.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Yeah we we I lived on a pond growing up
- 30:07Speaker 3: when I was younger, and there was there was there
- 30:11Speaker 3: was just so much algae.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Yeah you can't. That's gross. And then that becomes that
- 30:16Speaker 4: becomes a mosquito breeding ground.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Absolutely, not just mosquito like stagnant waters like the worst
- 30:22Speaker 1: of humanity has to offer.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Right, there's also like it's also like the there's fish
- 30:29Speaker 3: but they're tiny. And then there's just big ass.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Turtles everywhere, snapping turtles.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Yeah right, Yeah, where do you think your forever home
- 30:36Speaker 1: is going to be?
- 30:37Speaker 3: Well, New York City?
- 30:39Speaker 1: No, I mean, he's not gonna be in New York
- 30:42Speaker 1: City for three months.
- 30:44Speaker 4: I want to say Maine, but I just I keep
- 30:46Speaker 4: trying to find a way to get back there, and
- 30:48Speaker 4: I can't figure it out.
- 30:50Speaker 1: I can't be a novelist or something.
- 30:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I gotta, I gotta really switch my career.
- 30:54Speaker 1: You got to write the great American novel.
- 30:56Speaker 4: And I'd have to be willing to fundamentally take a huge,
- 31:00Speaker 4: huge reduction in pay. I just think that. But that's
- 31:03Speaker 4: where you make the trade off because it means a
- 31:05Speaker 4: lot cheaper to live in.
- 31:07Speaker 3: How are the taxes there?
- 31:08Speaker 4: Not the best but like better than you buy You
- 31:12Speaker 4: can buy a home for nothing. Land is there's just
- 31:17Speaker 4: they're given a.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Guy a lot of it.
- 31:18Speaker 4: You just go up to a yard, you put your
- 31:20Speaker 4: steak in the ground, and they're like, that's yours now, Yeah, congrats,
- 31:24Speaker 4: thirty five acres. Coastal enjoy it. Coastal gets more expensive.
- 31:30Speaker 4: Especially would you go coastal, I'd want to butt.
- 31:33Speaker 1: The pond and coastal greedy.
- 31:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I would do away with the pond. If I
- 31:38Speaker 4: lived on the coast, I could, I could, I could
- 31:42Speaker 4: sacrifice the pond for the coast. But if I'm in Maine,
- 31:46Speaker 4: I'm gonna want to be on the coast.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Where do you think you're forever home? It's going to be.
- 31:50Speaker 3: It's really tough to judge. I mean, like honestly, like
- 31:56Speaker 3: right now, the idea of ever leaving my apartment is
- 31:59Speaker 3: just too much to bear.
- 32:01Speaker 4: And that's on a daily basis.
- 32:05Speaker 3: That's now I leave my apartment quite a bit.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Bron we're like three days away from Sas just telling
- 32:11Speaker 4: us he's gonna be remote.
- 32:12Speaker 1: From there's just like a dummy up day and like
- 32:18Speaker 1: a head that's a screen exactly.
- 32:22Speaker 3: No, that won't happen. Now, I'll probably be close to
- 32:25Speaker 3: I'll be on the East Coast for sure, so like
- 32:27Speaker 3: uh or at least in rally North Carolina. No, I
- 32:32Speaker 3: don't think I'll live in probably north North Carolina. But
- 32:36Speaker 3: I mean North Carolina is nice.
- 32:37Speaker 4: It is.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Yeah, So where the Smokies?
- 32:40Speaker 1: So where's it? Where are you going to be? If
- 32:42Speaker 1: it's not that part of the East Coast?
- 32:44Speaker 3: I meant more so New England.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Yeah, Boston.
- 32:49Speaker 3: No, I don't know if I would want to live
- 32:51Speaker 3: in Boston. Boston's very small.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Well, you're not gonna live in Connecticut, I know that.
- 32:55Speaker 4: Yeah, obviously not when he says when he says Boston,
- 32:58Speaker 4: I think we mean also the place where you grew
- 33:01Speaker 4: up and sort of the surrounding suburbs and stuff like that.
- 33:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I mean that would be nice. But overall
- 33:08Speaker 3: Boston is it's fucking freezing.
- 33:12Speaker 4: It's not that bad.
- 33:13Speaker 1: You said New England, dude, All New England is the
- 33:16Speaker 1: same temperature as Boston or cold.
- 33:18Speaker 3: I honestly think New York is way more many.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Well with Harry on that I agree with don't, but
- 33:29Speaker 4: I think I kind of do. I get. I get
- 33:32Speaker 4: what you mean. Like, if you lived in southwestern Connecticut maybe,
- 33:37Speaker 4: which you said you wouldn't do. The climate there is
- 33:40Speaker 4: very different from where we bought where we grew up.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I mean I would live in Jersey, I
- 33:46Speaker 3: would live in New York, I would live in Massachusetts,
- 33:50Speaker 3: I would live in I probably wouldn't live in Maine
- 33:53Speaker 3: or Vermont. Definitely will have a.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Place there though, A little summer camp, A small summer camp.
- 34:01Speaker 4: Do you think we're all gonna be friends in thirty years?
- 34:05Speaker 3: Probably if we're all still alive.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Everyone was thinking it thirty years.
- 34:13Speaker 3: I mean, we got a long way to go.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Yeah we do.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Oh my god, great murder. He's just a shadowy all right, guys.

- 39:31Speaker 1: up in the up in New England.
- 39:35Speaker 4: Up in New England.
- 39:36Speaker 3: I mean yeah, I would consider this close enough to
- 39:39Speaker 3: be New England. Like, it's not like I'm in New
- 39:41Speaker 3: York and I'm like, I got to get back to
- 39:43Speaker 3: New England. I feel like I'm away. It's like the
- 39:45Speaker 3: exact it feels like I'm just in Massachusetts.
- 39:47Speaker 4: Oh dude, I couldn't disagree more with that statement. Yeah,
- 39:51Speaker 4: being in New York City drives me to the point
- 39:53Speaker 4: where I have to go home to Maine.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Oh no, I agree with that. I meant more so
- 39:57Speaker 3: like the climate and like the overall like surroundings.
- 40:01Speaker 4: I think there's a very marked New York City in
- 40:05Speaker 4: attitude and wealth, and I don't know personality here than
- 40:10Speaker 4: there is up in proper New England.
- 40:13Speaker 1: You say it's poor down here, not here.
- 40:16Speaker 4: It would be more poor there, like.
- 40:19Speaker 3: People you think people here are like I think that
- 40:22Speaker 3: in New York in general, there is a grind mindset
- 40:28Speaker 3: and a relentless hustle and there's no amount of money
- 40:32Speaker 3: I could make that would make me satisfied.
- 40:35Speaker 4: And you get caught up chasing everyone here, whereas up
- 40:39Speaker 4: there you're like, yeah, i'd make X, It's not a
- 40:43Speaker 4: ton or whatever. But I get to live in a
- 40:46Speaker 4: beautiful place and I'm content. I think a lot of
- 40:49Speaker 4: people are there for that reason. Yeah, And maybe I'm
- 40:54Speaker 4: maybe I'm just being idealistic, but that is my Every
- 40:57Speaker 4: time I go home, I'm like, I could live here
- 41:00Speaker 4: on a third of the money that I make in
- 41:02Speaker 4: New York and I would feel like a richer man.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Definitely.
- 41:05Speaker 1: Driving home from Connecticut last night, it's like go two
- 41:08Speaker 1: and a half to forty five drive, but forty minutes
- 41:11Speaker 1: outside of New York that direction is like rolling hills
- 41:15Speaker 1: in forests. Oh yeah, it's crazy.
- 41:17Speaker 3: That's like where I fish. It's an hour away from here.
- 41:21Speaker 4: It should come upstate if you like rolling hills in
- 41:23Speaker 4: forests where at.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Forty minutes though, forty minutes outside of Brooklyn.
- 41:28Speaker 2: M.
- 41:29Speaker 4: You'd you'd have to get an hour. You have to
- 41:32Speaker 4: get an hour at least an hour.
- 41:33Speaker 3: You go forty minutes into Jersey farms hills, no skyline
- 41:38Speaker 3: of New York City. John bon Jovi, John bon Jovi. Yeah,
- 41:42Speaker 3: the Boss Bruce, I mean the Bruce and the Boss,
- 41:48Speaker 3: the Delaware Gap. Jersey's not bad.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Jersey's great.
- 41:53Speaker 3: I'm actually a Jersey uh supporter.
- 41:55Speaker 1: I know a lot of people like, well, the cities
- 41:57Speaker 1: of Jersey suck ass.
- 41:59Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, obviously such.
- 42:01Speaker 1: A Newark, Yeah yeah, Jerseys the cities suck.
- 42:08Speaker 4: There's such a stigma around Jersey. It's funny.
- 42:11Speaker 3: It's like if you go there, like obviously, like the
- 42:14Speaker 3: stigma is fully around Jersey Shore and the cities.
- 42:18Speaker 4: Also, I also think the wealthy suburbs of New York
- 42:21Speaker 4: where people commute in to New York from New Jersey
- 42:25Speaker 4: have a stigma. There's something basic about it, at least
- 42:28Speaker 4: in the mind of a lot of people.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like a it's like a resignation.
- 42:32Speaker 4: It's the Yeah, it's the I don't know why. It's
- 42:36Speaker 4: probably seen to some degree it's the easier suburb choice
- 42:40Speaker 4: than trying to go to Westchester, h New York, or
- 42:45Speaker 4: or Connecticut or Chappaqua or Scarsdale, Rye purchase.
- 42:51Speaker 3: I think if I were to live in a suburb,
- 42:54Speaker 3: I wouldn't want to have to be going into a
- 42:57Speaker 3: city weekly. Like I think if I still would have
- 43:02Speaker 3: to go into the city, like I was still commuting
- 43:04Speaker 3: to the city, I would probably just stay in the city.
- 43:06Speaker 4: I see. You could get a pieta terre, for sure.
- 43:11Speaker 4: Do you know what that is. Nope, it's a It's
- 43:15Speaker 4: just an apartment in the city that used to crash at.
- 43:21Speaker 4: But it's not you know, it's not your permanent home.
- 43:24Speaker 4: And it's Yeah, maybe if you were super super wealthy,
- 43:27Speaker 4: you might have like a small, one cute, one bedroom.
- 43:30Speaker 1: That would be so nice to have a flophouse.
- 43:32Speaker 4: Yeah, a flop house would be sick.
- 43:34Speaker 3: I gotta get a flophouse close to the office.
- 43:37Speaker 1: I mean, you can probably turn this room into your flophouse.
- 43:40Speaker 1: You put a Murphy bed behind one of these bookshelves.
- 43:42Speaker 2: And.
- 43:44Speaker 4: Twelve blocks from the office.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Some people are like that in New York, though, they'll
- 43:52Speaker 1: have places in different parts of the city.
- 43:55Speaker 3: It's not a bad I mean, if you're really rich,
- 43:58Speaker 3: like I'd have a place in every borough. I mean,
- 44:00Speaker 3: obviously we're talking like.
- 44:01Speaker 4: Why would you do that? That doesn't make any sense.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Because we're gonna go over to our friend's house, not
- 44:06Speaker 3: in Brooklyn.
- 44:07Speaker 4: You don't ever go to Brooklyn because I don't have
- 44:09Speaker 4: a place there. You'd never go to Queen's.
- 44:14Speaker 3: If I had a home there, I would, I would,
- 44:15Speaker 3: I would would go.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Have you guys seen Jack Ma's son.
- 44:21Speaker 4: Yes, he's at the Rolls Royce. He's at the Rolls
- 44:24Speaker 4: Royce dealership every week, it seems.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Yeah, he's like I don't think so.
- 44:27Speaker 1: Jack Ma is the guy who started out and he's
- 44:33Speaker 1: so rich. He's a billionaire's billionaire and his son goes
- 44:35Speaker 1: to n y U And it's just like a punky
- 44:39Speaker 1: like mohawk billionaire. Really who just pulls up in a
- 44:43Speaker 1: Rolls Royce like on campus gets out like some something
- 44:47Speaker 1: bad and Chinese.
- 44:49Speaker 3: Damn, don't you think you think don't you think that
- 44:56Speaker 3: would be better to do it like an actual college
- 44:58Speaker 3: and not one that's just like yes, the streets of
- 45:01Speaker 3: New York.
- 45:02Speaker 1: But I'm saying he probably has like three apartments in
- 45:05Speaker 1: the city. Oh yeah, and he probably has like and
- 45:08Speaker 1: it's probably way more fun to be rich. Like if
- 45:10Speaker 1: you're rich in State College Pennsylvania, you can only get
- 45:13Speaker 1: so far, Like you get VIP at Champs and like
- 45:15Speaker 1: that's it. Like, if you're rich in New York, you
- 45:18Speaker 1: can fucking.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a great point round. It's it's bottle service.
- 45:22Speaker 3: When I was also, I feel like people are gonna
- 45:23Speaker 3: be less people are gonna be less impressed by a richness.
- 45:26Speaker 3: And like if you show up in a Rolls Royce in.
- 45:28Speaker 4: New York in college, in college, you're forgetting it's still college.
- 45:33Speaker 1: But if you're a billionaire Chinese person in state college,
- 45:36Speaker 1: you're Chinese, you know what I mean?
- 45:42Speaker 3: And ionaire, Yeah right, you're not wrong, which is their racism,
- 45:51Speaker 3: not mine.
- 45:52Speaker 4: When I was tutoring, uh, I tutored really wealthy kids
- 45:56Speaker 4: sometimes on the Upper East Side. Yeah, and when they
- 46:00Speaker 4: king seniors. Often I saw I would tutor the younger
- 46:04Speaker 4: brother or something like that, and he'd have an older
- 46:07Speaker 4: sister who was a senior. And on like a Tuesday
- 46:10Speaker 4: night or a Wednesday night, I would see as I
- 46:13Speaker 4: was leaving the house that they were the girls would
- 46:17Speaker 4: go out. They'd be all dressed up, and then I
- 46:20Speaker 4: would ask the brother. I was like, where do they go? Yeah,
- 46:23Speaker 4: and he's like, Oh, they're going to go out to dinner,
- 46:25Speaker 4: and then they're going to go to like One Oak,
- 46:28Speaker 4: which is one of the you know, was one of
- 46:30Speaker 4: the premier night clubs in the meatpacking district. And I
- 46:33Speaker 4: was like, what are you talking about your eighteen year
- 46:36Speaker 4: old sisters going out to a night club on a
- 46:39Speaker 4: Wednesday night in New York City? How is that even possible?
- 46:43Speaker 4: And he said, the freshman at NYU want these girls
- 46:49Speaker 4: to come with them, and they have black cards from
- 46:52Speaker 4: their dads and they put them down and they get
- 46:54Speaker 4: a table, and like the middle of the week is
- 46:57Speaker 4: when like cool people actually go to clubs, whereas on
- 47:00Speaker 4: the weekends it's all the bridge and tunnel folk. But
- 47:03Speaker 4: I've been to One Oak and that place doesn't get
- 47:05Speaker 4: going until one thirty in the morning. Yeah, So these
- 47:08Speaker 4: girls that were in high school would be out till
- 47:10Speaker 4: three three thirty on a Wednesday night. Yeah, And I'm like,
- 47:14Speaker 4: why are your parents okay with that? And he's like, well,
- 47:16Speaker 4: she's already gotten in early admission to Tufts or whatever,
- 47:19Speaker 4: so they don't care anymore.
- 47:21Speaker 1: That's a different kind of rich.
- 47:23Speaker 4: But that's where.
- 47:23Speaker 3: That's where, dude, like, they're going around personal blackguards.
- 47:27Speaker 4: It was it was the son of aig the insurance.
- 47:32Speaker 1: That your dollars get groom.
- 47:34Speaker 3: Well, he he was.
- 47:35Speaker 4: The guy who whose son had the black card that
- 47:39Speaker 4: they would all I think he was at NYU or whatever,
- 47:42Speaker 4: and they'd all go with him.
- 47:44Speaker 1: Is n YU just a fucking is it just a
- 47:46Speaker 1: country club?
- 47:46Speaker 3: Now?
- 47:47Speaker 4: It's a coke school?
- 47:50Speaker 1: Trump goes there.
- 47:51Speaker 3: I mean it's what is it, eighty thousand dollars a year.
- 47:53Speaker 4: You're making the choice that you want to be in
- 47:55Speaker 4: college in New York City. It's it's like, yeah, you
- 47:58Speaker 4: go to ASU because you want to.
- 48:01Speaker 3: I would go to Pace and just wrap m y
- 48:03Speaker 3: U gear. No one would know.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Yeah, a little purple. I mean imagine Fordham is it
- 48:15Speaker 1: basically Penn State in.
- 48:17Speaker 4: Yeah, might as well be in fucking where I live.
- 48:25Speaker 1: The fact that the kids in Fordham are just living
- 48:27Speaker 1: in the Bronx.
- 48:28Speaker 3: Is so funny.
- 48:30Speaker 4: It's crazy.
- 48:32Speaker 1: Is that by Yankee Stadium? How close is for him
- 48:33Speaker 1: to Yankee Stadium?
- 48:34Speaker 4: I don't like, thank you.
- 48:36Speaker 3: I think it might be past Yankee Stadium.
- 48:38Speaker 4: Law School is is in like Columbus Circle area. I
- 48:45Speaker 4: know that because I went there for four days.
- 48:47Speaker 1: By Union Square.
- 48:48Speaker 4: Yes, right next to Union Square.
- 48:51Speaker 1: That's what you said last episode, Sass. I don't know
- 48:54Speaker 1: if you remember callback, So you didn't listen to that episode,
- 48:57Speaker 1: you can also.
- 48:57Speaker 4: Listen to this one. Verry through a little pouch in
- 49:01Speaker 4: there for a lip, And you've been a different person
- 49:04Speaker 4: since you did that.
- 49:06Speaker 3: Really, I'm very lonks.
- 49:08Speaker 4: Very subdued, I would say, veryks.
- 49:11Speaker 1: Matt. I was looking at properties up in Frog's Neck
- 49:15Speaker 1: the other day.
- 49:15Speaker 4: Last very stop frogs Neck Bridge. Yeah, that's cool. One
- 49:19Speaker 4: g or two g's though, I think it's one right.
- 49:23Speaker 1: People spelled differently, do they? Yeah, sometimes you'll see two g's.
- 49:26Speaker 4: I did not know that.
- 49:27Speaker 3: Yeah it is. It's twenty five minutes past Yankee Stadium. Yeah,
- 49:32Speaker 3: well god, yeah.
- 49:34Speaker 1: The fuck is going up there. But I guess like
- 49:36Speaker 1: ninety five percent of people that work at barstool.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Yeah, there's like a lot of work that there. They
- 49:41Speaker 3: all went to ford them.
- 49:41Speaker 4: Harry, are you trying to quit your jewel? Yeah?
- 49:44Speaker 3: I am on one day too.
- 49:46Speaker 4: I support this, that's why you're doing that.
- 49:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:48Speaker 4: Cool, I didn't need to. I'm not trying to draw
- 49:50Speaker 4: attention to it on the spot. It's just I've never
- 49:52Speaker 4: seen you do this before.
- 49:53Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean I tried the times. I don't
- 49:55Speaker 3: love them. They make my tummy hurt.
- 49:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it makes my tummy hurt too much that I
- 49:59Speaker 1: just can't do it. I can't get into it.
- 50:01Speaker 3: I don't get like. I found like there's some that
- 50:04Speaker 3: you know, actually the I don't know if they're sponsoring us.
- 50:07Speaker 3: The lucy ones don't make my stomach hurt the best. Yeah,
- 50:10Speaker 3: those are like the other ones. They hurt my tummy.
- 50:14Speaker 4: Why are you also having to quit the jewel now?
- 50:17Speaker 3: I mean it's like the seventh time I've tried to quit.
- 50:19Speaker 3: But oh, you want to know the real reason. Yeah,
- 50:24Speaker 3: they added nicotine pouches to go puff, and I was like,
- 50:28Speaker 3: if I could go puff these, I think that would
- 50:32Speaker 3: be enough of a reason for me to quit vaping.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Because they just bring the nicotine right to your door.
- 50:38Speaker 3: Because it's like, yeah, it's like you don't have.
- 50:40Speaker 1: To waste your one trip a day on getting nicotine.
- 50:44Speaker 4: I was good, That's exactly where I was going to
- 50:46Speaker 4: go with that. Why is it that you will go
- 50:48Speaker 4: to best Buy and you have to go to best Buy,
- 50:51Speaker 4: but you will not go to the corner store to
- 50:53Speaker 4: get your pouches.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Because the I tried to stop last time. I tried
- 50:57Speaker 3: to stop. The pouches that I was looking for, I
- 51:00Speaker 3: couldn't find them anywhere, and then I had to use
- 51:04Speaker 3: the other ones, the popular ones, and those ones literally
- 51:09Speaker 3: make it feel like I'm just swallowing like sand sand
- 51:12Speaker 3: an acid. It destroys my stomach, makes me puke.
- 51:17Speaker 4: Maybe you were doing too high of a thing.
- 51:19Speaker 3: I don't think so, because I don't really feel the nicotine.
- 51:22Speaker 1: So why are you doing for?
- 51:26Speaker 3: Because I like the because I feel I feel the
- 51:29Speaker 3: absence of the nicotine.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Withdraw Yeah, it's a real thing, but withdraw exists. Withdraw
- 51:37Speaker 1: an addiction exists to things that aren't just illegal. Oh yeah,
- 51:43Speaker 1: I could probably go through water withdrawal.
- 51:45Speaker 4: Hey do you guys know something? You know something I
- 51:49Speaker 4: learned I don't mean to keep I just think of
- 51:52Speaker 4: things and if we want to. I didn't mean to
- 51:54Speaker 4: change the subject.
- 51:55Speaker 3: I'm all good on the Yeah, I don't give topic.
- 52:00Speaker 4: Do you guys know the true definition of uh introvert
- 52:06Speaker 4: or an extrovert? Let's start with this. What do you
- 52:10Speaker 4: think you both are? What's your own assessment of yourself?
- 52:14Speaker 4: What do you think you are?
- 52:15Speaker 3: I don't know, because I mean, you would think introverted,
- 52:18Speaker 3: but if I am by myself in my apartment for
- 52:22Speaker 3: too long, I'd lose my mind.
- 52:25Speaker 1: I stopped thinking about it because I think I read
- 52:28Speaker 1: the fucking that Chuck Klousterman book Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs,
- 52:32Speaker 1: and he had the worst take on this, and it
- 52:34Speaker 1: was like, introverts and extroverts are actually like inverted, because
- 52:38Speaker 1: if you think you're an introvert, then you start acting
- 52:41Speaker 1: more like an extrovert to like compensate for it, And
- 52:44Speaker 1: if you think you're an extrovert, you started and I
- 52:46Speaker 1: like it infuriated me. I frisbee the book across the
- 52:49Speaker 1: room and I stopped being able to even like think
- 52:52Speaker 1: in the terms of it.
- 52:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I kind of stopped thinking about it too, because
- 52:56Speaker 3: I would say, I like having time by myself and
- 53:01Speaker 3: and like doing whatever I want, but also like i'd
- 53:05Speaker 3: i'd better off, Like if I had to spend like
- 53:09Speaker 3: two days fully with a group of people, never gonna
- 53:14Speaker 3: have time by myself, like going to like like aside
- 53:16Speaker 3: for like.
- 53:17Speaker 1: Going to the bathroom, you'd be exhausted.
- 53:19Speaker 3: No, I would feel better doing that than spending like
- 53:23Speaker 3: two days alone two days like yeah alone. But it's
- 53:31Speaker 3: like at the same time, like if I play video
- 53:34Speaker 3: games with my friends and we're talking like that.
- 53:36Speaker 4: So so I think that what you just said means
- 53:39Speaker 4: that you are an extrovert. Yeah, yeah, and I agree.
- 53:43Speaker 4: I don't think about what I hadn't thought about this.
- 53:45Speaker 4: I didn't care until someone explained to me the actual
- 53:49Speaker 4: meaning and that, in fact I am an introvert. Yeah,
- 53:54Speaker 4: which in my my whole life I would never have thought.
- 53:58Speaker 4: It has to do with where you gain energy from. Yeah,
- 54:02Speaker 4: And it's like do you recharge your battery and gain
- 54:05Speaker 4: energy by being alone or by being around people?
- 54:10Speaker 1: So you're describing men and women.
- 54:13Speaker 4: I have to be alone for huge portions of my life. Yeah,
- 54:19Speaker 4: I don't. I can't. I get drained very quickly. I'm
- 54:23Speaker 4: like an old fucking e bike or something. Yeah, and
- 54:28Speaker 4: you need to be you get energy. It sounds like
- 54:32Speaker 4: from being around people I do.
- 54:33Speaker 3: Yeah, Like if I didn't do this today, like I
- 54:35Speaker 3: played video game, Like I had a doctor's appointment and
- 54:38Speaker 3: then I played video games for like an hour and
- 54:40Speaker 3: a half by myself and then came here. But like
- 54:43Speaker 3: during that hour and a half, like I was like,
- 54:47Speaker 3: I'm like sluggish, laying around not doing anything. Yeah, and
- 54:52Speaker 3: then like now that I go do this and now
- 54:54Speaker 3: we do the podcast me and run after films with
- 54:57Speaker 3: an after Like, then I'll go home and I'll feel
- 54:59Speaker 3: way more like charged, Like I'll feel like energized and like,
- 55:02Speaker 3: all right now I can actually do other shit that
- 55:04Speaker 3: I want to do.
- 55:05Speaker 4: Right now, all of this is killing me. I can't
- 55:10Speaker 4: wait to be home. And the fact I have four
- 55:13Speaker 4: comedy spots tonight, Yeah, I'm ready to quit.
- 55:17Speaker 1: Yeah that's a lot.
- 55:18Speaker 4: I'm ready to stop. I don't know how this happens.
- 55:22Speaker 4: It's not who I am, it's not what makes me
- 55:25Speaker 4: do well and real.
- 55:26Speaker 1: So, now that you're like classifying yourself as an introvert,
- 55:31Speaker 1: do you think that that makes you less likely to
- 55:33Speaker 1: want to do these like extrovertish activities.
- 55:38Speaker 4: It makes me accept that the things that have driven
- 55:42Speaker 4: other people crazy about me are not necessarily my fault,
- 55:46Speaker 4: nor are they necessarily things that I need to fix.
- 55:50Speaker 4: My desire for space and alone time at which has
- 55:54Speaker 4: proven to be a problem for people in my life.
- 56:00Speaker 4: It makes relationships a little tough, my desire for that
- 56:08Speaker 4: which I thought, you know, am I just being difficult?
- 56:12Speaker 4: Am I being selfish? No, it's it's who I am,
- 56:16Speaker 4: and I do well when I can do my laundry
- 56:19Speaker 4: and like in silence and you know.
- 56:24Speaker 1: Well, it is a get out of jail free card
- 56:26Speaker 1: to be like, I'm not a selfish babe, I'm an
- 56:27Speaker 1: introvert classified as an int.
- 56:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it is a weird one. I kind of just
- 56:33Speaker 3: tried to stop. I'm the same way. I just stopped
- 56:35Speaker 3: thinking about it. I remember, like when that was first
- 56:37Speaker 3: introduced to me.
- 56:39Speaker 1: I think all of that shit is a false behind
- 56:41Speaker 1: eary being like are you like a type A or
- 56:44Speaker 1: a Type B personality? Or are you like an alpha
- 56:47Speaker 1: or like a beto? I think all that is completely
- 56:51Speaker 1: circumstantially dictated, Like I'm sure that like just because you
- 56:56Speaker 1: feel like you fall into a definition of being an introvert,
- 57:00Speaker 1: you're not going to be this Shaolin monk who now
- 57:03Speaker 1: like doesn't talk for the entire year. But every time
- 57:06Speaker 1: you talk, it doesn't betray you being an introvert. No,
- 57:09Speaker 1: every time you socialize, it's not like this big betrayal
- 57:12Speaker 1: of it.
- 57:13Speaker 4: I agree, and I don't necessarily now feel that I
- 57:16Speaker 4: have to sort of adhere to this box that I've
- 57:19Speaker 4: put myself in in any way. I think it allows
- 57:22Speaker 4: me to accept things about myself that I didn't understand before.
- 57:27Speaker 1: So you're a type A introvert, i'd say, if we're
- 57:30Speaker 1: calling it.
- 57:33Speaker 4: Yeah, there's only one percent of the population who's both
- 57:39Speaker 4: big guard, little r a retarded redhead.
- 57:43Speaker 1: And you're a type B extrovert.
- 57:47Speaker 3: Supposedly. I don't believe I am extroverted though, Like I
- 57:50Speaker 3: don't think. I think I just need a balance in life. Yeah, yeah,
- 57:55Speaker 3: it actually like I need. I could I could play
- 57:59Speaker 3: video games with my friends for a day straight, and
- 58:04Speaker 3: then I could get off and lay down for ten hours.
- 58:07Speaker 3: But then the next day I'm gonna be I'm gonna
- 58:10Speaker 3: wake up and be like I gotta do I gotta
- 58:12Speaker 3: do something. You need to talk out loud, Yeah, I
- 58:15Speaker 3: need to talk to someone in person.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't even is this Are we describing being
- 58:21Speaker 1: introverted and extrovert.
- 58:22Speaker 4: I'll look it up right now, I'll get the actual deaths.
- 58:24Speaker 3: I know what you mean though, about the energy thing.
- 58:26Speaker 3: That's how it was described to me. That like which
- 58:29Speaker 3: one you can?
- 58:30Speaker 4: I always thought that because I was I was outspoken
- 58:32Speaker 4: and loud and attention seeking as a kid, and probably
- 58:36Speaker 4: still that that necessarily that that meant I was an extrovert.
- 58:41Speaker 4: I thought those were the pillars of that. But it
- 58:45Speaker 4: has They describe where people get their energy and how
- 58:47Speaker 4: they process information. Extroverts gain energy from social interaction, and
- 58:52Speaker 4: introverts by spending time alone. While extroverts tend to be
- 58:55Speaker 4: outwardly expressive, active and enjoy broad interests in reverts are
- 59:00Speaker 4: often more reserved, prefer internal thought, and and enjoy focused
- 59:05Speaker 4: in depth into interests. I mean, I do that most
- 59:08Speaker 4: people are actually ambiverts, falling somewhere in the middle of
- 59:11Speaker 4: the spectrum rather than at one of the two extremes.
- 59:14Speaker 4: You are you are and I think we all probably are. Yeah,
- 59:21Speaker 4: I like that that's.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Which up, but that I think that that just completely
- 59:24Speaker 1: nukes the idea. Two turns everybody's both well.
- 59:29Speaker 4: Where do you shade? You know, It's like, okay, yes,
- 59:32Speaker 4: I do like spending time alone, but occasionally all fuck
- 59:34Speaker 4: a dude, when the mood strikes.
- 59:39Speaker 3: If it's going to restore my energy levels, dude.
- 59:48Speaker 4: In a long time, no wonder, I'm so tired.
- 59:53Speaker 1: Oh you gotta go fuck it, dude. It'll get you
- 59:55Speaker 1: right the last time I fucked it, Dude, I got
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: I hear your guys' thoughts on Comedy Wars before we finish.
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: What are you talking about?
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: What's going on in the comedy Wars?
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: What are you talking about? That's all I see. That's
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: literally all I see is comedy what Austin New York,
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Austin New York, Maren Rogan and then just everything that's
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: fallen in the way. To be honest as to comedians,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: I need your your take on this side.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: And it's just two immovable objects, like they're not gonna
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: that that fight is useless.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: Well, it's just it's good for people to pick their
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: sides with the North of the South.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's like pretty two pretty dramatic sides of
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: the spectrum of like Rogan having Donald Trump on and
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: having Musk on and and then Maren, who's like the
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: ultimate Lib, He's King Lib. I got nothing against either
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: of them, but I'm saying, like them clashing isn't even
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: really like it's like, yeah, I think they've been like
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: I think they're just always had a clash based on
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: their beliefs.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, yeah, I guess. So, So who do
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: you think is an introvert of the two?
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: You know?
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: I watched that doc yeah, which was the one that
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: Ron said, what.
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: Was it called? That was funny Graveyard, Helf and Graveyard.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I watched that.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: It was it's well done.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: It's definitely well done. I mean I watched the full
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: hour and a half.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it's fascinating.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: I will say when I started it, I was so
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: convinced that it was just one of those like you know,
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: like the Rise and Fall of Burt Reischer documentaries or
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: some shit like that. And I was like, I was like, damn,
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: it's sucksy and Rone go down this path. It's like
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: this is the kind of ship that he's into. And
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: I watched the full thing and I was like, I
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: was pretty good, that's interesting, but it is funny being
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: like the downfall of Brendan Trout. It's like Roan's getting
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: real into like the internet comedy culture.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: I mean that's basically what this is. And it just
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: has all the comics just talking all like on both sides.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: It's fascinating.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: The rom White Rogan one was killing me about the
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: green room at the Mothership. Oh yeah, it's a sanctuary.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: That's the thing about the Mothership's green room. It's sanctuary.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: I've that's a spot on.
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: I've been in that room with Ron White. Yeah, and
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: uh it's not felt comfortable and had to and then
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: got kicked out.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I went into that. I mean, I'm not trying
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: to tell on the mother Ship, but I went in
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: there and it was fucking It's like we were talking
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: about last episodes, like walking into the skate shop and
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: you don't know anything.
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: No, it's worse than that.
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: It's worse.
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: It's like you know something Gaza with a Yamel con.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: It's like walking into a skate shop where you think
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: you know everything, you think you know stuff, and then
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: they're like, you don't know anything. Yeah, it's it's a
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: fucking war zone in there.
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: Who do you know here in the skate shop? Yeah,
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: it's a lot at and.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: Then if you don't know anyone pill and this guy
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: with a machine gun is going to walk out.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you just get piled into a mass graves.
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: Instead of the sixteen year old teen behind the counter,
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: it's going to be a man with an ar fifteen.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Yeah, like Kirk Metzkers like point, like.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. I don't really have much about
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: the comedy Wars. I mean I think it's like I
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: don't know, I really don't now.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: It sucks. It sucks. It's stupid. Like I haven't seen
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: every it's all comedians, and I haven't seen like one
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: funny take on any of it.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: No, there's really no funny takes. I mean, there's nothing
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: a joke about. That's the problem.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: Because or as hell.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: But I mean, if we want to get down to
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: the nitty gritty of it, it's like the Austin has
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: like two comedy clubs. New York has like seventy.
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: Austin has a lot now.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Creak in the case, they have the Creek.
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: They have the other ship, cap City, forty five minutes
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: away from but it's worth it.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: Cap City in Austin in October November.
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: That's actually a great room.
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: I'm excited for it, great performed, We had singing punch up.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: We did two hours there, all untold material.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: It was a banger of an episode.
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: That's cool.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: They were and we didn't know. We literally we got there.
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: I had no voice, remember.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: You had the ships and no voice, no voice. We
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: did two hours and they were fucking eating out of
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: the palm of our handners.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: We just walked straight out holding stools. That's them down.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: I felt like Callen, Honestly, I felt like Callen in
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: La and like thirteen. All right.
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: I've never been enchanted by the lore of the comedy scene.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I think I was, and I think
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: i've slowly.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: Heroes.
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: It's just kind of work. Heroes just kind of work
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: for me the way I see it. And then and
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: then I admire and I'm enchanted by the people who
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: are really good at it.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: That's my thing. I'm I really only care about the
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: people that I'm like, this person's really funny.
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: I really look up to those people, and I kind
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: of wonder how the fuck they're why, why I can't
