- 0:28Speaker 2: is the first time we're doing an Almost Famous Awards.
- 0:30Speaker 2: We're looking back at Bachelor history, Bachelor and Bachelorette history,
- 0:35Speaker 2: and voting upon some of the most iconic, most epic,
- 0:39Speaker 2: most memorable moments in the franchise.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Yes, so some of these categories include the worst line
- 0:47Speaker 3: ever said, the biggest villain, the best makeout, best love
- 0:51Speaker 3: triangle in Paradise, Favorite Bachelorette. We got a lot of
- 0:56Speaker 3: categories and it's very fun. It's you know, multiple choice,
- 1:02Speaker 3: so you don't have to come with anything from the
- 1:03Speaker 3: top of your head. Because so voting is going to
- 1:05Speaker 3: be open for the next thirty days, so you can
- 1:07Speaker 3: cast your votes now. How to cast your vote? Listen carefully,
- 1:11Speaker 3: go to our socials. It's at almost underscore famous on Instagram.

- 1:50Speaker 2: tonight when life is less busy, and you're gonna forget
- 1:53Speaker 2: and so go right away. It's easy cast your votes, Ashley.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I think you get to pick a cat. I'll pick
- 2:01Speaker 2: a category. I'm gonna pick for you to answer the
- 2:06Speaker 2: best love triangle?
- 2:08Speaker 3: Okay, best love triangle in Paradise? Would it be Dean,
- 2:13Speaker 3: Christina and Danielle ll That was a good one, Cat,
- 2:18Speaker 3: John Henry and Olivia. No, scratch that out. Nobody's thinking
- 2:21Speaker 3: about that one. Blake Hortsman Christina Kaylin. Then you're gonna
- 2:28Speaker 3: squeeze in Hannah Godwin and Dylan in there. I wouldn't
- 2:30Speaker 3: say that. I would say it's really between Blake and
- 2:32Speaker 3: Christina and Kaylen. This good one. I'm gonna say probably
- 2:40Speaker 3: Blake's because Blake's was fiery. Blake's love Triangle got people
- 2:47Speaker 3: freaking talking and mad. What do you vote?
- 2:51Speaker 2: I'll go Blake's too. I do think it's the most
- 2:53Speaker 2: memorable to me. And it lasted the longest, meaning it
- 2:56Speaker 2: like lasted outside of paradise.
- 2:58Speaker 3: It felt like exactly it's.
- 3:00Speaker 2: The best or the worst, but it was something.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Okay, wait, okay, let's go with this one. Let's just
- 3:07Speaker 3: play one more category. Best facial expressions. Does it go
- 3:12Speaker 3: to me? Does it go to Hakim? Does it go
- 3:15Speaker 3: to Justin Glaze or McKenna Dorn. McKenna I was from
- 3:20Speaker 3: Pilot Pede season. If you guys don't remember, she had
- 3:23Speaker 3: good facial expressions. But I'm gonna give this to Justin Glaze.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I think he's the most famous for his bugged out
- 3:30Speaker 3: eyes and big, massive expressions.
- 3:32Speaker 2: It's got to be Justin Glaze. I mean, I think, honestly,
- 3:36Speaker 2: it goes Justin Hakeem than You, the McKenna. It's gonna
- 3:40Speaker 2: be fun. Tons of categories, tons of moments. Just I
- 3:43Speaker 2: enjoyed looking back on some of these categories, remembering some
- 3:47Speaker 2: of these iconic moments. So make sure you go to
- 3:48Speaker 2: our social media click on the link, fill out your votes.
- 3:52Speaker 2: You have thirty days to do.
- 3:53Speaker 3: It, all right. Well, before we jump into the recap
- 3:56Speaker 3: for the week, I would like to say thank you
- 3:59Speaker 3: Ben for taking over for me for a lot recently,
- 4:04Speaker 3: a lot. You did so many interviews I'm not I'm
- 4:11Speaker 3: glad that you will be having your vacation in a
- 4:14Speaker 3: week and you're going for two weeks. You go to Allah.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I only get a week off because I got to
- 4:18Speaker 2: fly back to do some stuff in Los Angeles for
- 4:22Speaker 2: the almost famous podcast Secrets, Secrets.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Secrets, What do you mean? Secrets? All? Okay, Well, I
- 4:33Speaker 3: would again love to be there and you'll find out
- 4:37Speaker 3: so long I'm not there, And thank you for taking
- 4:41Speaker 3: over for my vacation week. It was so fun. We
- 4:45Speaker 3: got to do a little collab with the Royal Caribbean.
- 4:47Speaker 3: It was the craziest, coolest. I think it was probably
- 4:51Speaker 3: the coolest opportunity I've had since being on the show,
- 4:55Speaker 3: you know, besides like you know, like besides like having
- 4:58Speaker 3: a child from the show and getting there the show.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I mean like an actual partnership opportunity.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Actually, I talked about you in my executive coaching session
- 5:05Speaker 2: today based on your Royal Caribbean experience.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Was it executive? Really?
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yeah? I was talking about how fair it is that
- 5:11Speaker 2: you're having so much fun and you seem to have
- 5:13Speaker 2: taken a two month vacation from the almost famous podcast.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Why I have grinded here and then I'm just feeling
- 5:18Speaker 2: a lot of inks towards you.
- 5:20Speaker 3: I actually I feel like you do have thanks starts
- 5:23Speaker 3: to me, to be quite honest.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Why would you feel that way? What have I done
- 5:26Speaker 2: to make you feel that way?
- 5:28Speaker 3: Saying what you just said?
- 5:30Speaker 2: No, I have zero inks towards you. On some other comments,
- 5:34Speaker 2: what did I say I'm so stuck out offline?
- 5:41Speaker 3: Oh no, no, you know what? You know?
- 5:44Speaker 1: What? You know?
- 5:45Speaker 3: What you did?
- 5:46Speaker 2: I have actually zero idea?
- 5:48Speaker 3: Okay, no, no, no, no, no, no. Are you happy, Ben?
- 5:52Speaker 2: I'm very happy. I have zero inks towards you. I
- 5:55Speaker 2: know that your life is different right now, and I
- 6:01Speaker 2: have a complete understanding that.
- 6:02Speaker 3: No.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I was talking about it because I said, I was
- 6:04Speaker 2: watching your Instagram stories and it was bringing me back
- 6:08Speaker 2: to my teenage years on a cruise ship and feeling
- 6:10Speaker 2: a freedom and an adventure and an enjoyment that I
- 6:13Speaker 2: haven't felt in a long time. And I was talking
- 6:15Speaker 2: to him about finding that again an adulthood, and then
- 6:21Speaker 2: I am, I'm getting ready to go on a vacation,
- 6:24Speaker 2: and I'm excited for it. But vacations as an adult
- 6:27Speaker 2: have felt so different. Not I understand that I'm not
- 6:29Speaker 2: a kid anymore. It's not as magical. But I really
- 6:32Speaker 2: don't relax on vacation. I haven't so long because it
- 6:36Speaker 2: feels like other things going on.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Anyways, I agree, I understand that I feel like you can't.
- 6:41Speaker 3: I don't know this last time I like truly truly relaxed,
- 6:43Speaker 3: but like had fun. Always can tell you when I
- 6:46Speaker 3: last had fun. But I feel like as an adult,
- 6:48Speaker 3: you just always have something in the back of your
- 6:49Speaker 3: mind that's saying you should be doing this. You got
- 6:51Speaker 3: to get this done.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I really exactly. And so I was watching your
- 6:57Speaker 2: Instagram stories and I was going, goodness, this looks fun.
- 7:01Speaker 2: It looks fun for Ashley and Jared and the family
- 7:03Speaker 2: and the kids and I. It just reminded me of
- 7:07Speaker 2: what I've missed. It was nothing more. There was no anks,
- 7:11Speaker 2: there's no anger. There is no angst or anger in
- 7:13Speaker 2: my heart towards you at all.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I understand your situation taking over a lot lately. I
- 7:18Speaker 3: feel a lot of guilt.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Sorry maybe yeah, maybe maybe you feel you're feeling guilty.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I get that too. But yeah, it looked awesome. I
- 7:28Speaker 2: was in Tahoe, Ashley since the last time we spoke
- 7:31Speaker 2: with a lot of Golden and also current cast members
- 7:35Speaker 2: or like from like more recent episodes of The Bachelor
- 7:38Speaker 2: and Bachelorette. We had a really great time. That interviews
- 7:42Speaker 2: are coming out kind of as we speak, so make
- 7:44Speaker 2: sure you tune into the Almost Famous thread to listen
- 7:47Speaker 2: to those.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Hey, Ben, before we move on, would you like to
- 7:50Speaker 3: go on a cruise with us?
- 7:52Speaker 2: I would always love to go on a cruise with you.
- 7:53Speaker 2: I'd just like to see you again. Quite honestly, it's
- 7:56Speaker 2: it's been a long time since I've got I've gone
- 7:58Speaker 2: on a lot of trips for the Almost Famous podcast
- 8:01Speaker 2: without Ashley. At this point, it is making me sad.
- 8:04Speaker 3: It is I we don't like that. I don't like
- 8:06Speaker 3: that at all. Ben, why don't you go to the
- 8:08Speaker 3: Jonas Broller thing with us in September. He's like, no,
- 8:12Speaker 3: that's my time off. Yeah, that's your trip.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, let's dive into this week's episode. It's
- 8:20Speaker 2: great to have you. Actually, we're recapping Bachelor in Paradise.
- 8:24Speaker 2: It's episode seven. This episode brings out a lot of emotions,
- 8:31Speaker 2: a lot of questions. But let's start with just kind
- 8:34Speaker 2: of breaking down the first part of the episode. We
- 8:38Speaker 2: see a lot of people kind of hanging out at
- 8:40Speaker 2: this resort, Ashley. I mentioned last week when we broke
- 8:46Speaker 2: down the episode, the resort is making more sense to
- 8:48Speaker 2: me now. It is starting to like I'm understanding where
- 8:51Speaker 2: the rooms are and where the bar is. It feels
- 8:53Speaker 2: like a lot of people are spending their time kind
- 8:56Speaker 2: of huddled around the bar. We don't get as much
- 8:58Speaker 2: beach scene, which makes.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Me saying, hangs out on the beach.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I like the beach. I like seeing people doing that.
- 9:06Speaker 2: It's not happening during this season with this current setup.
- 9:10Speaker 2: But I am starting to understand it more. I'm actually
- 9:12Speaker 2: starting to get into the quality of the camera work.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Now I'm following along with storylines better. I said I
- 9:22Speaker 2: am still not sold on the money. I don't know
- 9:27Speaker 2: if I'm as against it as I once was, because
- 9:29Speaker 2: it doesn't seem to be a factor quite honestly. It
- 9:32Speaker 2: just kind of seems to be this like looming thing
- 9:34Speaker 2: that everybody knows exists, but it hasn't. We haven't necessarily
- 9:39Speaker 2: seen it affect relationships, I think until this week.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought this episode started to feel like Bachelor Pad.
- 9:46Speaker 3: I've never watched Bachelor Pad, but it felt more about
- 9:49Speaker 3: competition to me than it felt about love. And it
- 9:52Speaker 3: really made clear to me that there's nobody living here
- 9:54Speaker 3: together engaged. I don't even think engagement is really on
- 9:57Speaker 3: the table, to be honest. Interesting, I don't think like
- 10:00Speaker 3: it's never been mentioned, and there's never been anything teased
- 10:03Speaker 3: with a ring box or a kneel down as we
- 10:06Speaker 3: usually see. Yeah, I didn't not like this episode. I
- 10:09Speaker 3: just started to feel like, Okay, this is more about
- 10:12Speaker 3: gameplay now less about love, and maybe it works for
- 10:17Speaker 3: a season like this where I don't see a lot
- 10:19Speaker 3: of actual coupling happening. Spencer and Jess barely ever get shown.
- 10:24Speaker 3: You would think that they didn't even exist in this cast,
- 10:28Speaker 3: and as far as the editing. I'm wondering whether or
- 10:32Speaker 3: not they've taken some feedback from the audience because they
- 10:39Speaker 3: because it does feel slower to me, it seems less flashy.
- 10:43Speaker 3: I don't know if they're just trying to match it
- 10:45Speaker 3: to the tone of the storyline, but it seems definitely
- 10:48Speaker 3: less like modern and then interesting tidbit factoid that I
- 10:56Speaker 3: didn't pick up on until our producer mentioned it, but
- 11:01Speaker 3: they have this song almost Paradise in the slow, original
- 11:05Speaker 3: traditional sense the beginning of this episode and not their
- 11:08Speaker 3: little rematch.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right, they're changing things up. You can tell
- 11:14Speaker 2: the pace is slowing, storylines are easier to follow. I
- 11:17Speaker 2: don't know the reasoning, but I do know from our
- 11:21Speaker 2: feedback from the listeners of the almost Famous podcast, people
- 11:25Speaker 2: desired for it just change, maybe to modernize, but not
- 11:30Speaker 2: to make the drastic changes it did. It was unrecognizable.
- 11:34Speaker 2: This episode really starts, I think when Wells and We're
- 11:37Speaker 2: reminded that Hannah Brown is still in Costa Rica, to
- 11:40Speaker 2: which I'm like.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Are Hannah and Wells pissed that they are there? Because
- 11:46Speaker 3: that's a lot of time dedication to be somewhere where
- 11:49Speaker 3: you're not getting much airtime.
- 11:51Speaker 2: I mean they're really getting at this point, Wells is
- 11:53Speaker 2: getting a few seconds on TV. Hannah's getting less than that.
- 11:58Speaker 2: I mean, goodness, gracious, I had forgot that she was
- 12:00Speaker 2: in Costa Rica, in Paradise until they showed up. They
- 12:04Speaker 2: met everybody and told the cast to meet Jesse in
- 12:08Speaker 2: the secret garden. This is going to be a relationship
- 12:11Speaker 2: test of the week. The test is explained to us
- 12:14Speaker 2: like this. There's a lot of couples going on. There's
- 12:18Speaker 2: gonna be questions asked, and people are going to ask
- 12:21Speaker 2: us answer these questions in secret. The people that match
- 12:25Speaker 2: the most will get a chance to meet each other
- 12:29Speaker 2: in a secret rendezvous, but also get to meet each
- 12:32Speaker 2: other kind of in the middle of this game in private.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Nobody else will know who's there and who's not there
- 12:41Speaker 2: to see if they actually want to date each other.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Here's the thing. This game doesn't work. It doesn't. It
- 12:48Speaker 2: doesn't epically fails for the show because anybody there at
- 12:52Speaker 2: this point is coupled up. They're committed. They're also not
- 12:55Speaker 2: going to be stepping out. This is not perfect match,
- 12:58Speaker 2: this is not Love Island.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Didn't feel like they were trying to be perfect magic.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Maybe it's because it was fresh in my head as
- 13:04Speaker 3: we recapped out this week too.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Yeah, but there's only so many types of games that
- 13:09Speaker 2: I think they could play to pull off what they
- 13:11Speaker 2: wanted to do. I think they wanted to see if
- 13:13Speaker 2: there was a couple that would switch. I think they
- 13:15Speaker 2: were thinking about the Alicia and Dales, the cat and
- 13:18Speaker 2: Dale's I wanted to see. I think they tried to
- 13:21Speaker 2: create a love triangle of senses and then just backfired.
- 13:23Speaker 2: It didn't work. The only reason it worked was because
- 13:27Speaker 2: Brian and Bailey got to discuss something.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Yeah, in a backhanded way, it worked. Okay, I have
- 13:39Speaker 3: to put you on to these leggings I've been obsessed
- 13:42Speaker 3: with lately. They're from this brand called Tona, and get this,
- 13:46Speaker 3: the designer behind them also created Lulu Lemon, so they
- 13:51Speaker 3: know what they're doing. These leggings are next level. I
- 13:55Speaker 3: think butterysoft, super flattering, and very comfortable. But they're also
- 14:01Speaker 3: very supportive in the right places. So I started wearing
- 14:05Speaker 3: them when the kids and I go out to play,
- 14:07Speaker 3: and now I'm basically living in them twenty four seven.
- 14:10Speaker 3: And here's what makes them even better. With every payer
- 14:13Speaker 3: you buy, it helps fund a mental health counseling session
- 14:18Speaker 3: for a teen in need. Isn't that so awesome? Tona
- 14:22Speaker 3: is on a mission to end teen suicide and self harm,
- 14:26Speaker 3: which we think is so important and so incredible of them.
- 14:30Speaker 3: So we partnered with Tona to give you twenty percent
- 14:33Speaker 3: off your order and free shipping. So head to tonaactive
- 14:36Speaker 3: dot com that is TNA active dot com and use
- 14:40Speaker 3: code iHeart for twenty percent off in free shipping.
- 14:47Speaker 2: After kind of watching some Netflix reality shows, the questions
- 14:52Speaker 2: here felt like ABC or whoever?
- 14:56Speaker 3: Trying too hard?
- 14:58Speaker 2: Trying too hard, It's very weird. What's what role play
- 15:01Speaker 2: do you like?
- 15:02Speaker 3: Okay, Ben, can we talk about that question for a second. Yeah,
- 15:05Speaker 3: it was like, am I supposed to like have a
- 15:08Speaker 3: favorite role play? Like, I'm sorry, I've never played teacher student.
- 15:14Speaker 2: We don't have the time. Like it's like, hey, like
- 15:17Speaker 2: I'm feeling your feel let's let's do what we want
- 15:19Speaker 2: to do. There's not like a there's not like a
- 15:22Speaker 2: couple hours that we can just be like, hey, do
- 15:24Speaker 2: you mind going to put your nurse outfit on?
- 15:27Speaker 3: Like I'm sorry, I didn't know it was like a
- 15:29Speaker 3: normal thing, not that it's abnormal, but everybody just wrote
- 15:33Speaker 3: it down like oh duhah, do do do? And I'm like, oh, okay,
- 15:37Speaker 3: I never never done that.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I'm sure. Actually, if you asked the contestants, they'd be like, yeah,
- 15:42Speaker 2: I didn't really think about like I was like just
- 15:44Speaker 2: coming up with something what's sexier?
- 15:46Speaker 3: Like I would be like, okay, I get I get
- 15:48Speaker 3: the teacher student sexiness.
- 15:50Speaker 2: But there's so many better questions.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Yeah, like I must explore this relationship because he and
- 15:57Speaker 3: I both want to be a teacher student.
- 15:58Speaker 2: They weren't questions that even hinted at compatibility exactly. There
- 16:03Speaker 2: were questions that mostly related to preference, but half of
- 16:07Speaker 2: relationship is understanding your partner's preferences and adapting and then
- 16:12Speaker 2: adapting tears. It's not compatibility questions. These were framed as, hey,
- 16:17Speaker 2: we're going to get to know what couples are really
- 16:18Speaker 2: into it, like really would work and not work. The
- 16:21Speaker 2: questions that were asked were, we're not pointing us in
- 16:24Speaker 2: that direction at all. It gave me no insight into
- 16:27Speaker 2: who would work better with another partner. So this game,
- 16:31Speaker 2: for what it was, I do think try was attempting
- 16:35Speaker 2: to do something that didn't work out for them, but
- 16:37Speaker 2: it did bring us one thing that was interesting. It
- 16:40Speaker 2: did bring us an opportunity for Brian and Bailey to
- 16:44Speaker 2: have a conversation.
- 16:45Speaker 3: It sure did, And this is the basis for basically
- 16:49Speaker 3: the entire episode.
- 16:51Speaker 2: It stretches on for so long it does.
- 16:54Speaker 3: We knew that it would come. We knew that this
- 16:56Speaker 3: would be the big drama when they did show us
- 16:59Speaker 3: the hidden camera footage in which Jeremy confided to Brian
- 17:05Speaker 3: that he basically called Susie in the interview room that
- 17:09Speaker 3: he had regrets about not keeping Susie over Bailey, and
- 17:15Speaker 3: he even made comments about getting down on one knee
- 17:19Speaker 3: if Susie were to come back. Now, let's just kind
- 17:22Speaker 3: of handle this as a whole conversation about going through
- 17:25Speaker 3: like any bitty details. He definitely did say that he
- 17:31Speaker 3: would propose to Susie. Was in a joking way, yeah,
- 17:35Speaker 3: but he denied it in this episode.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I think you're hinting on probably the biggest issue that
- 17:45Speaker 2: there's just too much lying. I think this whole episode
- 17:48Speaker 2: was wrapped around with nobody telling the truth, and that's
- 17:51Speaker 2: why it stretched out for as long as it did.
- 17:53Speaker 2: I think that's why the show had the show so
- 17:55Speaker 2: much of the back and forth At some point, I
- 17:59Speaker 2: was hoping that Wells Jesse Hannah would just step in
- 18:02Speaker 2: and be like, hey guys, just to let you all know,
- 18:05Speaker 2: nobody's telling the truth here, like it would make a
- 18:08Speaker 2: lot more sense everybody. Somebody just told the truth. But
- 18:10Speaker 2: Jeremy's lying, Brian's lying, Dale's somehow speaking wisdom and truth
- 18:17Speaker 2: into the situation, and he feels like he's saying nothing
- 18:20Speaker 2: that's gonna be my.
- 18:22Speaker 3: I was so confused when Dale was talking because I
- 18:25Speaker 3: was like, Dale, who are you trying to protect here?
- 18:28Speaker 3: And then I figured out that they were trying to
- 18:32Speaker 3: protect Jeremy and saying that Brian was being the bad guy.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Now listen, not a fan of Brian or Jeremy. Both
- 18:40Speaker 3: of them skied me out in certain ways. Sometimes Brian,
- 18:44Speaker 3: especially in the last episode, where he was like, excuse me,
- 18:47Speaker 3: you're complimenting me too much and you over communicate. I
- 18:51Speaker 3: needed to cut down on that. I was like, oh
- 18:53Speaker 3: my god, this guy sept red flags everywhere. And then Jeremy,
- 18:58Speaker 3: we all know Jeremy the thing, particularly this one, you
- 19:01Speaker 3: know him keeping the fact that he hadn't way more
- 19:05Speaker 3: interested in Susie than he led on to Bailey for
- 19:07Speaker 3: a long time, and that he never came clean about it,
- 19:11Speaker 3: and now Jeremy is basically pretended he is he lying. Yes,
- 19:18Speaker 3: I think he's lying. He's he says that he, you know,
- 19:22Speaker 3: basically is very happy with Bailey, and all those Susie
- 19:25Speaker 3: comments they happened, but they were in the past. However,
- 19:28Speaker 3: he still denies the engagement thing. What's your take on that?
- 19:33Speaker 3: What do you think? Do you think that Jeremy is
- 19:36Speaker 3: is lying to just kind of like keep in good
- 19:38Speaker 3: graces with Bailey or do you think that he has
- 19:41Speaker 3: developed stronger feelings over the past week or so.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I actually think it's a different question. Okay, I don't
- 19:48Speaker 2: think Brian did anything wrong.
- 19:50Speaker 3: No, No, we're all good there for sure.
- 19:53Speaker 2: So do I think that Jeremy and Bailey have grown together?
- 19:58Speaker 2: I don't know, because I have seen enough for me
- 20:01Speaker 2: to say it.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Also, you'd have hesitance about Jeremy's honesty throughout it all,
- 20:07Speaker 3: because even when Susie was in the picture, he did
- 20:11Speaker 3: genuinely seem into Bailey, but then he said on the
- 20:14Speaker 3: hidden camera stuff like, oh she's nice, but I want Susie.
- 20:18Speaker 3: So basically I don't trust anything Jeremy says okay, and
- 20:22Speaker 3: then there's the Brian thing.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I'm with Wells here now, same same. I don't know
- 20:27Speaker 2: how much the audience will be with Wells or not
- 20:30Speaker 2: on this. It seems like to me, you know, Dale,
- 20:34Speaker 2: I think had a quote that said, you put yourselves
- 20:36Speaker 2: in the crosshairs of a situation that would probably have
- 20:39Speaker 2: been talked about tomorrow. I don't know why he thinks
- 20:41Speaker 2: it would have been confronted tomorrow. I have no idea
- 20:45Speaker 2: on why one more extra day would have then brought
- 20:47Speaker 2: this to light.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Hey, this is what Dale used on CAT a couple
- 20:51Speaker 3: weeks ago. He's like, why did you deliver this news
- 20:53Speaker 3: to me?
- 20:53Speaker 2: Now?
- 20:54Speaker 3: Couldn't you just waited a day have some tact woman
- 20:57Speaker 3: And it's like, now he's doing the same thing to Brian.
- 21:01Speaker 2: It seems like the timing is not ideal in Dale's
- 21:05Speaker 2: mind for anything. Do I love that Brian told Bailey directly, Yes.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I don't think he had to go through Jeremy for this.
- 21:13Speaker 2: What was Jeremy going to say, Oh, yeah, you know what,
- 21:16Speaker 2: please do go tell Bailey about my infatuation with Susie. No, Brian,
- 21:23Speaker 2: I don't know his reasoning. I don't know his intentions
- 21:27Speaker 2: to wanting to do this, But I do know that
- 21:30Speaker 2: if you give him the benefit of the doubt, he
- 21:35Speaker 2: was feeling like, hey, this relationship is growing. I like
- 21:38Speaker 2: Bailey and it feels like Jeremy is not in it
- 21:42Speaker 2: and she's just growing stronger feelings. And if I was Bailey,
- 21:46Speaker 2: I would want to know if that was his reasoning. Okay,
- 21:49Speaker 2: so he tells Bailey. Ultimately it works out. Brian Bailey's
- 21:56Speaker 2: now in the No, She's not gonna have to watch
- 21:57Speaker 2: it back and get you know, understand this happens. You know,
- 22:00Speaker 2: when she watches on National TV, her and Jeremy are
- 22:03Speaker 2: able to have a legitimate conversation where there lies in
- 22:06Speaker 2: that sure, but they were able to work through it
- 22:10Speaker 2: and stay together. I don't understand this bro code thing.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Bro Code to me is mostly something when I come
- 22:20Speaker 2: to you with a vulnerability of hey, I'm feeling a
- 22:22Speaker 2: certain way and I know I don't want to be
- 22:23Speaker 2: feeling this way, or I'm hurting, or hey I'm kind
- 22:28Speaker 2: of messed up in the head. Can I speak to
- 22:30Speaker 2: you about something? Can I confide in you about something?
- 22:32Speaker 2: And then if that trust is broken, when I come
- 22:36Speaker 2: to you with a vulnerability I would be upset. Maybe
- 22:39Speaker 2: that is what is getting hinted at here. It feels
- 22:41Speaker 2: like to me, Jeremy just continued to share with everybody
- 22:43Speaker 2: but Bailey that he was still into Susie or he
- 22:46Speaker 2: was into Susie, and the whole house knew it except Bailey.
- 22:50Speaker 2: That's when it doesn't feel right to me, And yet
- 22:53Speaker 2: Brian is the one that is getting absolutely crushed here.
- 22:57Speaker 2: I am confused, like Wells is, as to the why
- 23:00Speaker 2: is it because everybody else, like Cat, says something along
- 23:05Speaker 2: the lines of is he you know? How do I
- 23:08Speaker 2: know he's not gonna stab me in the back. Well,
- 23:11Speaker 2: you would know that if you did anything that would
- 23:14Speaker 2: be wrong. But Cas, up to this point, I don't
- 23:16Speaker 2: know anything that you've done that he could even remotely
- 23:20Speaker 2: use against you. Jeremy was doing something that made the
- 23:23Speaker 2: whole house feel uncomfortable at one point in time, and
- 23:25Speaker 2: Bailey was unfamiliar with it. That's why that was brought
- 23:28Speaker 2: to the surface.
- 23:29Speaker 3: I was like questioning my moral compass the entire time
- 23:33Speaker 3: until finally, like thirty minutes into this big group discussion,
- 23:38Speaker 3: well says, I'm really confused what's going on here? Because
- 23:42Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure Brian is trying to be the good
- 23:44Speaker 3: guy and all of them are defending the bad guy here,
- 23:47Speaker 3: and yeah, just that's that is what is happening. And
- 23:52Speaker 3: I think that if you were to take this situation
- 23:54Speaker 3: into another Bachelor in Paradise season, the cast would basically
- 23:59Speaker 3: be like, so, guys, when do we tell? When do
- 24:02Speaker 3: we tell Bailey? And instead in this cast they're like,
- 24:06Speaker 3: all right, we all know, let's all not tell Bailey
- 24:10Speaker 3: until Jeremy decides to do it. Obviously, Jeremy is just
- 24:14Speaker 3: the person that they like more than Brian in the situation,
- 24:17Speaker 3: and they were trying to protect him, I think. But
- 24:20Speaker 3: I certainly had moments where I was just like am
- 24:23Speaker 3: I supposed to? Especially when Andrew was like, yeah, dude,
- 24:26Speaker 3: you broke ro code? I was like, Andrew, Andrew too,
- 24:32Speaker 3: have I lost my morals?
- 24:35Speaker 2: I think there is a lot at stake here. I
- 24:37Speaker 2: do think they see Press and Brian as a strong couple.
- 24:39Speaker 2: They have been a strong couple for a while. That
- 24:41Speaker 2: could be coming into it where there is the competition aspect.
- 24:45Speaker 2: I also do wonder how much of it does play
- 24:48Speaker 2: into who do we like more? Who do we want
- 24:50Speaker 2: to hang out with more? And you know, it could
- 24:52Speaker 2: be that it's the Jeremy thing. I also believe it's
- 24:54Speaker 2: a little bit of group thing. I think enough of
- 24:57Speaker 2: the group got ahead of it. I I think Brian
- 25:00Speaker 2: did himself a disservice by not being an adult and saying, yes,
- 25:04Speaker 2: I told Bailey. I think he actually would have.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Oh yeah, there was that weird lie.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I think the I think the lying made people feel
- 25:13Speaker 2: like there was deception, and I think deception made people
- 25:16Speaker 2: hesitant to support Brian well, and so I do think
- 25:20Speaker 2: that comes into it. And it kind of just got
- 25:22Speaker 2: mixed up where everybody got against team Brian because Brian
- 25:25Speaker 2: had when their minds lied to them and he did,
- 25:29Speaker 2: and then he played, you know, confused and I didn't
- 25:32Speaker 2: say anything, No, it was the girls. He was blaming others,
- 25:34Speaker 2: the girls that I'm mad at him. So I do
- 25:37Speaker 2: think he backed himself into this situation. I don't think
- 25:39Speaker 2: Brian was right and his lying to the group, But
- 25:44Speaker 2: if you break it all down, you take a step back,
- 25:46Speaker 2: you're like, what did he do that was wrong? That's
- 25:49Speaker 2: the question ultimately outside of lying, which is wrong, but
- 25:54Speaker 2: in the situation by telling Bailey, what did he do
- 25:57Speaker 2: there that was wrong? Is it against Broke. I don't
- 26:00Speaker 2: know what bro code is. It feels like he was
- 26:03Speaker 2: trying to ultimately be the one to fall on the sword,
- 26:09Speaker 2: to tell her something that was happening that would hurt
- 26:11Speaker 2: her ultimately at some point. Do I ever think during Bachelor, Bachelorette,
- 26:16Speaker 2: Bachelor in Paradise that you, you know, falling on the sword
- 26:20Speaker 2: or being the justice warrior here is always a very
- 26:25Speaker 2: difficult place to be.
- 26:26Speaker 3: Touchy thing in Bachelor world. Yeah, yeah, I guess what
- 26:29Speaker 3: they wanted him to do, in an ideal sense, would
- 26:33Speaker 3: be to go to Jeremy be like, Hey, I've given
- 26:36Speaker 3: you a week to say something to Bailey, you know,
- 26:40Speaker 3: and I'm trying. I'm worried for her. You know, we're
- 26:43Speaker 3: getting deep into this. I think it's time for you
- 26:45Speaker 3: to say something, and if you don't say something, she's
- 26:48Speaker 3: going to find out some through one of us.
- 26:51Speaker 2: I think he got tired of him not saying anything
- 26:54Speaker 2: to anybody, and as a result, he felt like he
- 26:56Speaker 2: had to speak up. It just gets back and forth
- 26:59Speaker 2: for a while. Well, Ashley, what I want to bring
- 27:02Speaker 2: up for conversation is everybody's responses. Obviously, Dale steps into
- 27:06Speaker 2: this very quickly and becomes kind of I guess a
- 27:13Speaker 2: listening board for both Jeremy and Brian here. It felt
- 27:17Speaker 2: like Dale was always kind of he said something to
- 27:20Speaker 2: Brian in the sense of, I'm I didn't think you'd
- 27:23Speaker 2: do this because you have a better character than that.
- 27:26Speaker 2: He said to Brian at the bar, like you wouldn't
- 27:28Speaker 2: say anything to Jeremy or to Bailey because you have
- 27:31Speaker 2: more character than that. It felt at that point Dale
- 27:34Speaker 2: knew Brian had said something, and he was just saying
- 27:36Speaker 2: that to like kind of jab him a little bit.
- 27:39Speaker 3: It was kind of like what he said to Kat
- 27:41Speaker 3: a couple of weeks ago, where it's like, we've got
- 27:43Speaker 3: we were raised different ways. Nothing's right or wrong because
- 27:47Speaker 3: we were raised different ways, you know, it was raised
- 27:49Speaker 3: like that. So and then I also want to mention
- 27:55Speaker 3: how when Brian did sit down with Bailey, why why
- 28:00Speaker 3: did she have to pull it out of him? He
- 28:02Speaker 3: was like, hey, can I talk to you? And then
- 28:04Speaker 3: they sit down and it's like he just didn't talk.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I'm not saying Brian's in the right here. I don't
- 28:10Speaker 2: know if he communicated anything correctly. He was hesitant, he
- 28:14Speaker 2: was obviously nervous. I think he knew he was stepping
- 28:17Speaker 2: on a landmine when it came to the house, and
- 28:20Speaker 2: what kind of damage just could cause. He was taking
- 28:23Speaker 2: a risk. I want to believe his intentions were right,
- 28:26Speaker 2: but I don't know if they were. I don't know
- 28:27Speaker 2: if he was doing it just to cause chaos or
- 28:29Speaker 2: if he really felt like, hey, I need to let
- 28:32Speaker 2: Bailey know. I think the better move here would have
- 28:35Speaker 2: been for one of the girls to be the one
- 28:38Speaker 2: to say something. I think it always comes you know,
- 28:42Speaker 2: the message is received better, and then there's a comfort
- 28:45Speaker 2: that's able to be giving when in situations like this.
- 28:48Speaker 2: If Brian would have gone to Paris and said, hey, Parisa,
- 28:51Speaker 2: I got your back. I feel uncomfortable being in this situation,
- 28:57Speaker 2: but you or Alex, can you say some thing to
- 29:00Speaker 2: baby like Alex, Yeah, it's necessary at this point, and
- 29:04Speaker 2: maybe talking about it as a group. I think it's
- 29:07Speaker 2: always good in these situations to get other people's opinions.
- 29:10Speaker 2: It does feel like and this is a part that
- 29:13Speaker 2: makes me a little nervous. Brian was pretty sold out
- 29:15Speaker 2: on telling Bailey now for about you know, for a
- 29:17Speaker 2: long time on the show, he was kind of convinced,
- 29:20Speaker 2: I'm going to go tell her but this is the
- 29:24Speaker 2: situation that lastes through the show. It does feel like
- 29:26Speaker 2: the house is against Brian, and we have other storylines
- 29:30Speaker 2: that are existing within the house at the time, really
- 29:32Speaker 2: around Captain Kim and Faith. They can't stop touching each
- 29:38Speaker 2: other making out. I think it's adorable. It doesn't feel
- 29:42Speaker 2: like other people in the house are feeling the same way.
- 29:44Speaker 3: They are the only actual romantic Golden couple physically speaking,
- 29:51Speaker 3: and people are denying that there is anything there which
- 29:57Speaker 3: I'm interested about. What do you think Faith would allow
- 30:00Speaker 3: him to touch her like that if she wasn't actually
- 30:02Speaker 3: feeling it back.
- 30:03Speaker 2: I think they one hundred percent are into each.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Other really, So what's the denial here?
- 30:07Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't understand where they rub people
- 30:11Speaker 2: the wrong way. It obviously is something that we haven't
- 30:13Speaker 2: seen at this point. It might have been Kim. You know,
- 30:15Speaker 2: there was some hints at hey, he's bounced around, so weird, Yeah,
- 30:18Speaker 2: to any woman that gave him attention, and Faith finally did,
- 30:21Speaker 2: and so he's into it. You know at this point though,
- 30:24Speaker 2: as you're a Golden it's like bounce around to anybody.
- 30:26Speaker 2: It's going to give you attention and see what sticks
- 30:28Speaker 2: You're obviously into her, you are caring for her well
- 30:32Speaker 2: and you but you guys are are doing some wild
- 30:34Speaker 2: I mean, these are some of those steamiest makeout sessions
- 30:36Speaker 2: we've seen all season for anybody.
- 30:49Speaker 3: So this comes to the Rose ceremony, it is the
- 30:53Speaker 3: two of the two of them actually get voted off,
- 30:57Speaker 3: which I was surprised because I thought it was pretty
- 31:00Speaker 3: clear that if we were going to eliminate a golden couple,
- 31:03Speaker 3: it should have been Kathy and Keith, because there's no romance,
- 31:08Speaker 3: no romance there that self described friends. So it's it
- 31:12Speaker 3: doesn't make any sense. And that's where I started kind
- 31:15Speaker 3: of getting annoyed with this like competition format, because it's
- 31:21Speaker 3: it is actually about teammates now, and like sometimes teammates
- 31:25Speaker 3: can be romantically linked, but like also sometimes not, so
- 31:28Speaker 3: like we're actually putting the show is putting it technically,
- 31:32Speaker 3: technically putting these people in a position in which you
- 31:35Speaker 3: could win the whole thing without actually being in love.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Do I think that's gonna happen. No, I think they'll
- 31:41Speaker 3: find ways around that. But with the rules as we
- 31:43Speaker 3: know right now, it's like Leah and Jonathan could technically
- 31:48Speaker 3: win as they did win the compatibility test.
- 31:52Speaker 2: I mean, I do. I think there is going to
- 31:54Speaker 2: be I think there's a good chance somebody that's not
- 31:57Speaker 2: that into each other romantically could win this season. I
- 32:00Speaker 2: don't think the show is going to stop it. I
- 32:02Speaker 2: do think we're seeing Bachelor and Paradise change before our eyes,
- 32:06Speaker 2: away from a love story to more of a competition.
- 32:10Speaker 2: And that's why you don't see as many comp dates
- 32:15Speaker 2: or moments where people use a famous Bachelor line. This
- 32:20Speaker 2: is a perfect place for me to fall in love.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Love is not is not the focal point of Bachelor
- 32:26Speaker 2: in Paradise. Now, We're we prepared for that. Do we
- 32:29Speaker 2: want that? As fans? I particularly, I don't really care, honestly,
- 32:36Speaker 2: because I like Paradise for its chaos and for its messiness.
- 32:40Speaker 2: And then I always knew with the old format of
- 32:42Speaker 2: Paradise that some couples were going to come from it,
- 32:44Speaker 2: and I always like that. But in the midst of that,
- 32:46Speaker 2: I liked the the other stuff sometimes more.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Well, yeah, like that's what I'm saying. If they do
- 32:52Speaker 3: have two people there that are meant to be together,
- 32:55Speaker 3: that'll be so awesome and they'll be together, which is
- 32:58Speaker 3: probably what's going to happen with Justin Spun But I
- 33:00Speaker 3: just don't think like their the whole end game of
- 33:04Speaker 3: the show is going to be about engagement, and maybe
- 33:07Speaker 3: they just didn't think they had a lot of actual
- 33:09Speaker 3: couplings that could have happened, and they're like, you know,
- 33:12Speaker 3: let's just put a backup plan. And that was the
- 33:14Speaker 3: competition and the money, which were still still kind of
- 33:18Speaker 3: don't know, like is it just going to keep being whoever?
- 33:21Speaker 3: Is that the last row ceremony? Like, we're you just
- 33:23Speaker 3: cute eliminating the way that we've been eliminating right now,
- 33:26Speaker 3: because it just seems like that's going to take weeks
- 33:27Speaker 3: and weeks. I mean, we have like four or five
- 33:30Speaker 3: more episodes left.
- 33:31Speaker 2: It would work four or five more episodes and we
- 33:32Speaker 2: do an elimination each week. The numbers make sense.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Actually they do.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Here's Ashley my theory. You want to hear a theory.
- 33:38Speaker 2: I have no backing for it. And the show is
- 33:43Speaker 2: realizing that more current contestants are not as popular as
- 33:47Speaker 2: maybe past contestants, right, You're yeah, you look back on
- 33:51Speaker 2: like the Hannah Godwins and the Kalin's and the Deans
- 33:54Speaker 2: and the Blakes and some people from Paradise of a
- 33:57Speaker 2: few years ago, and obviously you would get in that,
- 34:00Speaker 2: but you were Paradise really early on Paradise of a
- 34:03Speaker 2: few years ago. You have some people that are very
- 34:06Speaker 2: recognizable and doing some great things. I wonder if as
- 34:11Speaker 2: they slowly transition away from the love focus, we're going
- 34:14Speaker 2: to get back to maybe more of a bachelor Pads
- 34:17Speaker 2: type show where some of these married couples, people contestants
- 34:21Speaker 2: that have been married could still go and be a
- 34:23Speaker 2: part of the show and compete without love being the focus.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Because they need to get some of those names back.
- 34:31Speaker 2: They need to bring back some of the people that
- 34:33Speaker 2: are in relationship now and have kids. But would bring
- 34:37Speaker 2: viewers to say, yeah, I want to watch that person again.
- 34:40Speaker 3: Well, you know the spin off that I've always wanted,
- 34:42Speaker 3: the couples competing together and challenges.
- 34:46Speaker 2: I love it. That would be awesome to watch, and
- 34:48Speaker 2: I would love to see some familiar faces of the
- 34:50Speaker 2: past come back. I'd love to see the Andrew Firestones
- 34:53Speaker 2: and the Bob Guineas competing against a Trista Sutter's similar
- 34:56Speaker 2: to what we were doing in Tahoe this last weekend
- 34:58Speaker 2: at the almost Famous Gathering where Trista Sutter and Ryan
- 35:03Speaker 2: Sutter won the pickleball tournament. Not shocking there, not shocking
- 35:07Speaker 2: at all, not shocking by any sort of the imagination.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Bob Guiney competed, He competed hard. I had Dianna Stagliano
- 35:14Speaker 2: as my partner. We competed hard, we fought hard, we
- 35:17Speaker 2: had a blast. We just didn't win. Anyways, that's a
- 35:21Speaker 2: side note, Hey, Ashley, Paradise ends like this. Kim goes
- 35:25Speaker 2: home and they, like you said, fairly shocking elimination. Kim
- 35:29Speaker 2: and Faith are walking out the door. They commit to
- 35:32Speaker 2: maybe trying something outside of Paradise. I would be shocked
- 35:35Speaker 2: if they didn't. If they don't, then it makes me
- 35:38Speaker 2: think that, yes, this was never a thing, but it
- 35:40Speaker 2: seemed like they're very hot and heavy.
- 35:42Speaker 3: They're also both from Washington State, so why not try
- 35:45Speaker 3: to make it work? Now? Listen, the one thing from
- 35:48Speaker 3: the scene to the next episode that really got me
- 35:50Speaker 3: was the line I don't know who said it, but goes,
- 35:54Speaker 3: why don't we just try to start eliminating the strongest couples?
- 35:59Speaker 3: And I go so, So that's a real gameplay right there,
- 36:01Speaker 3: and that would make it not very paradise. That would
- 36:05Speaker 3: truly make it not very bachelory.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I do. I think we're seeing it evolve transition.
- 36:11Speaker 2: You might like it, you might not. I know there's
- 36:14Speaker 2: mixed reviews, but it does seem like people who are
- 36:17Speaker 2: sticking around to watch the show are buying into this
- 36:20Speaker 2: new format. They're excited about it. It is like a
- 36:24Speaker 2: it's a leveled down Perfect Match, It's a level down
- 36:27Speaker 2: Love Island. It's getting more and more in that realm
- 36:30Speaker 2: without maybe having the like straddling scenes that we see
- 36:35Speaker 2: during those kind of netflixy shows. Ashley. Some strong couples
- 36:41Speaker 2: still today, Alex and Andrew Dale Kat, I guess you
- 36:45Speaker 2: could say, are strong. We don't see a lot from
- 36:47Speaker 2: them this episode. Obviously Jesse and Spencer, who are still
- 36:50Speaker 2: there living their best life at the resort without having
- 36:54Speaker 2: any screen time at all. Andrew and Alex obviously, and
- 37:00Speaker 2: we still have Kathy Keith, who have no romantic connection
- 37:03Speaker 2: but enjoy having a cocktail together and looking at the sunset,
- 37:05Speaker 2: which I think sounds fantastic. Brian and Prisa, Sean and Alicia,
- 37:11Speaker 2: we don't see. I think the one big takeaway from
- 37:14Speaker 2: me this episode is we just don't see any other
- 37:16Speaker 2: couples we don't know where any other couple stand after
- 37:20Speaker 2: this episode more than that they still exist together. But
- 37:24Speaker 2: there's no storyline that dominates this episode more than the
- 37:29Speaker 2: Parsa Brian, Bailey and Jeremy conversations.
- 37:37Speaker 3: Yeah, which was interesting and it came out, and we'll
- 37:40Speaker 3: see whether this is done, because I don't know that
- 37:43Speaker 3: it's done. I think Bailey still needs to find a
- 37:47Speaker 3: little bit more out about Jeremy. She's being very trusting
- 37:50Speaker 3: and very forgiving, like she said, and is that gonna
- 37:55Speaker 3: hurt her in the long run. I'm not sure.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Yeah, at some point, she wouldn't be wrong to say, hey,
- 38:04Speaker 2: this feels messy to me, but there are still five
- 38:07Speaker 2: hundred and I know she says the money's not the problem,
- 38:09Speaker 2: and I'm cool going home and just saying goodbye to
- 38:11Speaker 2: the money. But if you sleep on it for one
- 38:13Speaker 2: night and you wake up the next morning, you're like, hey,
- 38:16Speaker 2: I could stick around and still have a chance to
- 38:17Speaker 2: win a half a million dollars, And just like in
- 38:19Speaker 2: this thing, I don't think she'd be wrong to consider
- 38:24Speaker 2: it at this point. With this format, it's not a
- 38:27Speaker 2: judgment call now on if you're into the relationship or not.
- 38:30Speaker 2: I don't have that feeling. I'm not saying, hey, you're
- 38:34Speaker 2: tricking this person. If she is not into it and
- 38:37Speaker 2: just wants stick around for the money. I think that's gameplay,
- 38:40Speaker 2: and I think this format is setting people up to
- 38:42Speaker 2: have strategy and gameplay more than anything we're ever familiar
- 38:47Speaker 2: with from Paradise.
- 38:48Speaker 3: I think that is a very good point, and that's
- 38:52Speaker 3: sleep on It comment that really resonated. I feel like
- 38:56Speaker 3: you can get a lot of clarity in those moments,
- 38:59Speaker 3: and one of those alreaties could be Hey, I like him,
- 39:02Speaker 3: I'd like to hang out with him here, and if
- 39:04Speaker 3: the chance of the money comes, then heck.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:09Speaker 3: Well guys, we love you, we're grateful for you, and
