Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: We always are comparing ourselves to others and what they can do and then seeing as a thing that we can't do.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: That we like missed out.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_01]: We missed the genetic opportunity to do that.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_01]: We missed out on the height to do whatever.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like the money, the time, whatever it is.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_01]: And really it's like, you know, something that we're really proud of that even at OPC and one of the reasons why we love Tammy and why she loves OPC is like, she wants you to measure yourself against yourself.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the be it till you see it podcast, where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm also Logan, Ply's instructor and fitness business coach.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: My friends, action brings clarity, and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: Each week my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it until you see it.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to the beat till you see it in a re-cap or my co-host in life, Brad and I are going to dig into the intentional convoy, have a Tammy Adrian George in our last episode.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: If you haven't listened to that one, you absolutely should, especially if you are a Pilis instructor, absolutely should do it.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's definitely a jaw dropping moment in there where you're like, what?
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: Did you do?
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's a mix.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and also, anyone who thinks, oh gosh, I'm like,
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: Not, quote, my life has not been linear.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not qualified for anything like this girl has had a journey.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: Are you talking about when they, they, yeah.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:40[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like that.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: We should, we should definitely cut that from it because you should go back and watch that.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: So, please.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: We're bleeding.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: We're bleeding out.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: We're bleeding out.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's what Leslie just said.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's what even more fun.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: I love impots do that because you're like, who is it?
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: What did they say?
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now I have to go listen.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: Go back and listen, and then come back and listen this or listen all the way through, get the cliff notes, and then go listen to that one.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, today is July thirty first, and it's National Mut Day.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: Dogs are special, and there are noodles of national international holidays to prove it.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: Noodles of them.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: But unlike most of our doggy days, National Mut Day on July thirty first focuses on the mixed breed dogs.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: Who sometimes get overlooked?
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: This holiday inspires people to learn more about adopting one,
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: National Month Day also brings attention to many great mixed breed dogs and need of homes.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, they've been a fit from the spotlight so much that we celebrate mixed breed dogs.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: Not just ones, but twice a year.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to lie thirty first and December second.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: Join us and celebrate all months and mixed breed dogs that make our lives so great.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: So mark your calendar for December second, because we probably won't do this again unless we forgot we did it already.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know what the second is, but also I highly recommend a month.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: They have less issues, like way less, like all that stuff.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: They like health issues, you mean?
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, all three of our dogs have been mixed breed.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we haven't gotten like a pure bread, but you know, generally speaking, if you're going to pick up a dog from the pound,
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be a mixed breed.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: Most likely.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: Brad, you are not following the feeds of my dog adoptions in this town.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: You, how many friendships are available at the pound?
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: Friends cheese.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: Friends cheese.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: And English Bulldogs.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: I thought those were thousands of dollars.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like, and beautiful huskies.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: And beautiful German shepherds.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: I will say there's a shepherd pit mix is like the cutest thing I've ever seen.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: Also a big dog.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: But the reason I chose this is if you haven't checked in with your local dog,
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: charities in town.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: You really should.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: They are not doing well.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: They are overcrowded.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: They're having a lot of problems that shelters that you speak.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: No kill shelters are actually becoming kill shelters because they have too many dogs.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're like, Leslie, my life is crazy.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: I travel so much.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: Great.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: Foster.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: Get a dog for the two weeks you're in town and give it back.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: The fact in
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: in this where we are like they're always looking for fosters and like the fosters could be two weeks long could be or until they're adopted so you could have this dog until it's adopted and they pay for all the medical bills they like there's one dog eight month old puppy so cute she's so cute she's got skin issues and they're like we will cover all of my case and you just have to apply it and give her a home that's all so you know let's not all fosters are fails and you could be doing a really great thing but literally
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: One of the shelters in town took in four hundred dogs and cats in one week.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't before.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: We're recording this before the fourth.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't even the fourth.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: So they actually were able to adopt.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: They did a no fee adoption weekend and they adopted a hundred and twenty animals because like they like just need to get these things because animals adopted.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: So I know it's hard.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like apartments have rules and laws and all those things.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's really really difficult.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: But like
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: figure what you can do.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: Can you walk these dogs like what can you do because they actually do make your like if you think the world is falling in and it kind of is I'm not going to lie.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: Really really struggling right now, but there's something nice about how I'm going to dog.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I can't I can't test for a cat so I can I don't know maybe they're great to or a rabbit but like a dog like they're just really
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: There's unconditional love there.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: There really is.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: So it really helps you.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: And we go for walks with our dog in the middle of the day, because we're like, this is really overwhelming.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: And we go walk the dog and we're like, oh, it's a good day.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: Look how beautiful the day is.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: So anyways, yeah, do that today.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: Perfectly on tour with our dog.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: We are in Northern California.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: And the tour goes to August, seventeen.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: So you actually still have time to join us.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: And there's still time to get your virtual tickets to the Calgary event.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: So if you go to opc.msuch tour, you can see the rest of the lineup.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: I know we have coming up.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: Eureka, Portland, Seattle, Seattle, Vancouver, Camloups, Calgary, then it's McCall, Idaho, Salt Lake, City Utah, and then Las Vegas.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: So still good half of this tour is available, and Calgary is the one if you're wanting the virtual ticket.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's a limited space on those.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: So just go to OPC.me, such tour.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: And then we're home for a couple of weeks, and then we change the entire wardrobe.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: We've been in to go to where it's not so warm.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be in the UK.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: We have two events, the UK.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: The timer recording this, there's a couple of spots left and leads.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: There's a few spots left and SX and SX has opened up, not only day passes, but single workshop options.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: If you just wanted to buy one workshop in CS, like that is an option, you just have to go to opc.me slashuk.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: And then Brad, then what?
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: Then we're heading to Cambodia.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we come home for a couple of weeks and we change the wardrobe again.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: So we go from summer to winter.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: Winterish.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: And then we go to the jungle.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: Humanity.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, my skin is dying for it.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's going to be awesome.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: We we still have some room for Cambodian October.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's there's definitely still time to come join us.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: We love to have you the this trip is going to be really fun.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: We ran to excursions
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: After their tree is over, the one of them is to go see an elephant sanctuary.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: The other is to go visit a waterfall that used to be the King's waterfall.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: And these are two magical trips last year and I have had the chance to do before.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: I really wonder how the King got up to this waterfall because our experience is less than first.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: it's like it's like an hour to drive up like there from the city and like man getting up the hill like now they're finally they're trying they're trying to pay it but it's not but when we first went up there it was like twenty seventeen or eighteen or something like twenty eighteen and and like it was literally just a slick muddy road up down stuck in the mud
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: We did.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: And we had to get off the bus.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: Just so the bus was light enough to get around the freaking corner.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: And then we had to run around the corner ourselves and hop back on.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: And we were like, are we gonna make it up the show?
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: This is crazy.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: Today it's not like that.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: Today it's actually paved.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: And not like it's not beautifully paved, but there is paving.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, here's the thing.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: Every time we go, I'm interested to see how far the baby has gone because you know, we live in Vegas and I'm gonna tell you right now, I have wanted to film the construction cones that go up in this town.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like I just want to start filming them for you because they make no sense.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like when we had them at our street for three years, they had cones for our three years.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: Some days you would be driving on the right side of the road.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: Some days the left side of the road.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: Some days you think you're in the left turn lane, but really you're in the lane for the oncoming traffic.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: And then you are stuck because they can't go, you can't go anywhere.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: They can't go anywhere.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: And now there's a new cone set up on our way to the gym.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: And we are just always watching people go in the wrong lane, a truck almost had another car.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I, so I, so I, so
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: When I talk about this construction situation in Cambodia, I want you to know, like, I do not think we are better.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, they might be better because what they did is start at one end of the mountain and pave a little bit and then stop because they ran out of money and then the only on one side.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then what do you say one side you mean one side of the street?
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: One side of the street.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so they didn't pave both sides of the street at the same time.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: They paved the right side like Imagine that they paved the right side street and they painted it like you know the dotted line in the middle of your of the road Imagine that that was the right lane.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: They painted and then they or it's they would pave and then they would stop for three hundred yards and they would pave for three hundred yards and then they would stop for three hundred yards.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, so you're on pavement off payment on the way back
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: they did the opposite, exact opposite.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: So almost looks like a zipper.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: You're not allowed to cross between the two sides of the row, but in order for everyone does.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: And then you're on curves.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: And everyone is driving on stuck because it's actually raised up off the ground by solid foot.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're on the paved part on the wrong side of the road, and someone comes at you, it's not like you guys can just get off the road.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, so you're playing like chicken or all the motos are doing it's not like they're going fast.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: So you can't go fast.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty steep.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, it is it is the most fun adventure.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: You're totally safe and then we go down to the waterfall and we have lunch and it's just absolutely fabulous.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: So anyways, you got to come crow's nest retreats dot com.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, crow's nest retreats dot com.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: I heard that we have an audience question.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: We do.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: I sent it to you.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: I sent it to the whole family.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: This is from YouTube.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: Excellent question.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: Excellent.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: One question.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: This was on your full body pilates tower workout.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: Excellent.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: One question.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think you keep saying fast connection.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: FAST fast.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: I know you're referring to an activation of the hams and glutes, but are you actually saying fast?
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: Or what are you saying there?
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: And where does the term come from?
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: You're queuing and your tips are outstanding.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: I just can't understand you.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: I had it that last part, she didn't know.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to say, I don't remember that part.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: I remember like, I remember thinking, wow, I'm going to put a compliment in with a question.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: Look at that.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: So overall on the YouTube channel, so just youtube.com slash at online plays classes.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: We a couple of years ago did upload a few workouts.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: And this is a tower workout.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I might have like, but it's a tower workout.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a booty workout because people who want to help you with your YouTube telling you you have to do.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: and abs work out.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: So anyways, I am saying fast connection.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: Spel it.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, fast.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: T, H, A, S, S. It's where your thigh meets your butt.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: And really what it is, is it's like the muscles that surround the leg minus the hip flexors.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: So so many people and Pilates are over using their hip flexors.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, one of my dear friends, in a whole three-month, I'm gonna put air quotes around Pilates, Proke, Challenge Cause, she didn't really go to an actual Pilates class.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, oh, no, Pilates inspired is marketing tool.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's not it.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: But she was talking about how much her hip flexors were hurting her at all the classes.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, yes, that's because you're not using your hamstrings or glutes, your outer hips and inner thighs.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what the fast connection is.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: And so, so Jane.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: with lots of letters and numbers.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: It is the area that is not included in the hip flexor that helps you or legs move from your center and you can find it in all applies exercises and it's in fact very helpful.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I teach a workshop on this.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, I teach it on several different stops on our tour, including the Calgary stop, which is a virtual stop so you can all join us for the virtual fast workshop to really understand this connection.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: Where did it come from?
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: I heard a yoga teacher say, booty.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I heard it.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, I don't, I say ass.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to say fast.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: Now, do I think I invented this word?
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: No, because I'm sure that anytime someone quotes me as the trademark owner of fast, there's people who come at me.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you don't own this word.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, well, technically, I do.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't mean you can't use it.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: You just can't make money on it.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: Because I trademarked it.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I was known for it.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: I've been teaching workshops.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: and this connection for over ten years.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's been something I've been on a journey with with myself.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm not gonna say that I am the founder of this word because language has been around a lot longer than all of us on this planet.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: However, it is something that I really am passionate about.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I hope you join us, Jane, for the Calgary event, on virtual, if you can't join us in person at one of the events where we're teaching it in real life, on the tour.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: You can send your questions in at bapod.com slash questions.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: You can also send your wins into the same link.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: So bapod.com slash questions.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: You could also text us at three one out, nine oh five five five three four.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but go to be a pod.com slash questions for your number was like three window be it till you see like you know what I mean just be it kind of we have a phone number like just be it be it pod be like IT POD seven yeah, maybe we can do that.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, figure that out team.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah team.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: Oh while we're doing this I haven't shown you yet and you're not gonna see it because Meredith and I are doing ourselves, but we're doing new art for the pod.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I love it.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: Me too.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: I've been thinking about actually changing up.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: I want to change the music.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, all the thing.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of things.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: Just changing it up.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: Because here's a thing.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: And you guys can please send in your, send in your comments and your questions and your wins here.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: I like the music of our pod on one point seven five speed, but I don't like it at one point.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, speed.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: And so I want a faster
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: song now like I like this podcast has grown and you know it's I wanted to just be like I don't know I just I don't know even though like Lindsey Sterling was who I like based it off of before and of course we still love her and she's a great song with Jeff Row or dear friend but I guess like it but faster so maybe we can just make it faster
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's just so out.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: It can make it faster.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: Faster.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: Faster.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: Faster.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: We got to talk about Adrian.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: Tammy Adrian.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: We are late.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: People are wondering what's going on and why you're clicking over there.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: Stick around.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now let's talk about Tammy Adrian George.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: She is a former competitive dancer and actress turned powerhouse plot as instructor and mobility coach.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: Her journey has included everything from Super Bowl halftime shows to onset acting.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: an urgent care medical work and now a thriving mobile Pilates business in Los Angeles.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: She's the founder of T-A-G Pilates and more and has been teaching for over thirty-four years.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: Blending classical and contemporary Pilates with functional fitness and rehab.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: She's also a featured instructor on OPC
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: bringing her deep expertise to clients and teachers around the world.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: And Tammy is just so awesome.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: She's so awesome.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_01]: She comes to the house a couple times a year we to hang out with her when she films and everything and
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: whenever she reminds me how long she's been teaching.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, oh, you're much, you've been around longer, but she doesn't look older.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: She has such, she's so fine and hippy.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: She's so fine.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: She's so hip.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: She's also like proof.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: She's walking proof that if you put your mind to something and you figure out the resources that are there, you can have it.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: You can do it.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: She just really doesn't let obstacles stop her.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, okay, that's an obstacle.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: Let me figure out another way around it.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_00]: can do it, but you're fast and too.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's right.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: So she said, my things I love she said was, we all have blocks of what we think we cannot do.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: Let's not measure you against the nineteen world on the mat next to you.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: Let's measure you against you.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I really love this because you know, we just came out of an elevate weekend and people were like, oh my God.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: She's got a beautiful practice, like how am I going to teach that?
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, what if we looked for the strength in her practice, rather than the beauty of the practice?
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like we all, it doesn't matter how, the person that they're talking about is the same age as them.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_01]: It actually doesn't, the age is not even a thing.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's that we always are comparing ourselves to others and what they can do and then seeing as the thing that we can't do.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: That we like missed out.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_01]: We missed the genetic opportunity to do that.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: We missed out on the height to do whatever.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like the money, the time, whatever it is.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: And really, it's like,
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know, something that we're really proud of that, even at OPC and one of the reasons why we love Tammy and why she loves OPC is like, she wants you to measure yourself against yourself.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: I want, we want to, we, we to measure yourself against yourself.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: So whether that's in Pilates or or your job career or whatever you're doing.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: how can you see other people's achievements as opportunities, like examples that opportunities exist, rather than I'm too old for that now, or it's not my legs are too short for that now, or whatever it is, right?
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's, I mean, with Tammy, she's seen it all, she's seen it all, right?
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that especially in Los Angeles where she came from was her career in acting.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's like literally everyone's comparing themselves to everyone.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's so intense.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: And also, let me just like, because I had to do castings.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'll just say, I'll just like compare themselves to everyone.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: So when Tammy is an actress, like, there might be one role for black women, right?
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: But then also just in general, when I went to a, was asked to go to a casting for commercial, they're like, we want red heads, hipsters.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: So you are in a typecast.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: You're in a line.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, everyone's redhead and everyone's wearing flannel.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: So it's so easy to start comparing yourself to everyone else.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, we're all here because they wanted a redhead who can wear a flannel.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: We're all here for that.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: I get that life is easy to do that, especially in certain situations.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: But it actually just keeps you from experiencing what you can in this world.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: It really holds you back.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the one thing that I really dug was she was talking about climbing the mountain.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_00]: You like you have to climb that mountain.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone has to climb the mountain and as you like what in order for you to see the bigger picture, you know, it often just takes
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: learned experience, like lived experience, and she was talking about, you know, lifting to view, to see everything.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: When you climb, then you can enjoy that view.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: You do a little dance, and then you're going to climb a little higher, and you're going to see a whole new view, right?
- 19:28[SPEAKER_00]: Because you're going to, you're just going to see the world as a different way as you're going along.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: Each time you climb and hold that level for just the moment, you see a little bit more, you see more possibilities, right?
- 19:38[SPEAKER_00]: So you go after those new possibilities, and then you see things from a whole another perspective all again.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because we're we're living and growing and changing and climbing.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, and I love that.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: I was thinking about my own life when she was telling that story and I mean, you know, it's just like
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: the wisdom of having lived a long life, the experience that you have, you know, I laugh at myself because of, you know, who I was and how I thought twenty years ago, even ten years ago, even five years ago, you know, I see things differently now.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, and I actually think
- 20:17[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's amazing because what we're where I like, I think this is where I'm always amazed by people who are, you know, in that, twenties and thirties younger than me, I mean, not necessarily whatever age doesn't matter, but who are younger than me, but have that bigger
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: view.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_00]: Then I do even and and that's amazing to see like it's it's those are the kinds of people who attract other people to them because their vision is huge.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_01]: We also she mentioned one other thing like she was talking about just like the settings for experiences that you're going through like sometimes you're like in a group class and like
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's a different style than if you are getting a one on one and it's just like sometimes it just like the things you want just require someone like someone's eyes on what you want like a one on one experience so they can be tailored to you and I think that that's such an important thing like
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: whether it's your pies, practice, or it's your business.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_01]: There's so much free information out there, of course.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: If the right question, you can probably find the right answer, but sometimes you just need someone to look at it from an outside perspective and go, actually, yes, you could do that, but what if you do it this way and just have that helping hand?
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's what she has for her clients when she goes to their homes.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's what she does with teachers who are wanting to go into teachers' homes.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: can bring that perspective that's just more tailored.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, bringing it back to what you were talking about before, you mean?
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, when you're measuring yourself against you, sometimes you're having a one-on-one or having a coach, you know?
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: That truly changed our business.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: Was lifting the hood and letting somebody help us analyze it and be like, why did you make this decision?
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: And then this one seemed like this was a great decision.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: Can you do that decision again?
- 22:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: And we were like, oh, why didn't we think of that obvious freaking thing?
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_01]: I do remember I do I actually know exactly what's the conversation you were talking about It changed our business.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know like hilarious.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: It changed our lives.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so so having that one on one You know when your Pilates practice can also be just as revelatory, you know, just the third party perspective So I love that all great points of Tammy stick around.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna dig into those be action items
- 22:36[SPEAKER_00]: all right let's talk about these be it action items what bold executable intrinsic or targeted action items can we take away from your convo with Tammy Adrian George she said hey you know what I like to do I don't set alarms of take out the trash or go do the thing she said she sets alarms that build her up
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: And so she suggested that we all do that.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: Instead of wake up or walk the dog, change that label to you're doing amazing.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: Or even on tough travel days, she reframes it with who today's a travel day.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do this.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: We love that.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's brilliant.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: I love this.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: I just saw something on the internet was like, hey, like,
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: change your folders on your phone to like affirmations and so like I did and I'm like trying to figure out how to get all of my apps into different folders so I can just look at the affirmations like that's all I want.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like what what app is this?
- 23:29[SPEAKER_01]: Is it I am connected or is it I am seeing like I don't know?
- 23:33[SPEAKER_00]: Well the alarms if you're not familiar with this I know on an iPhone at least you can actually set a message with the alarm and that's what she's talking about.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_00]: So your alarm can certainly just be standard boring old beep beep
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: whatever, or you can have it do that and show you a message.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: Because the alarm can be quote unquote for a thing.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: So you can set a reminder inside of the alarm.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: So if you have never explored that, it's just all you have to do is click the, that's it.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think we're trying right now.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: Just do it for tomorrow morning.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: And you can, you can check that out.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: So you know, set yourself a positive alarm.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_00]: What about you?
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so I'm my biggest takeaway is that I'm really proud and excited to share.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like Tammy has been working so hard and like we've been able to watch it from the like the sidelines and cheerer on and like help her in the amazing ways and she has an incredible eight week program called Half Skills will travel and she it's a program.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's like you already you have a lot of what you need to have a mobile business but
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: she helps you put it in the right organization so that it's you're not just driving around town like a maniac trying to like service everyone but the business works for you and so not just that it's also like
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: a lot of practical tips, like learned experience.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_01]: Profit Bill, not just profitability, but safety and sustainability, so you don't burn out.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and she does, like her program, I was talking with her about like her one-on-one coaching, and when she actually works with clients, she becomes their accountability body.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: So, to say, we program that we're excited to be able to host.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're gonna host on, on Profit Pilates.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's going to be great because it's going to be for live calls, virtual calls, where so every other week during the eight week program and she's going to give you some homework to go do and you're going to be able to wrap your mind around this business model and to really see, is this something that is for me?
- 25:28[SPEAKER_00]: Is this something I want to do?
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: And if so, you're going to be able to walk away with like a pretty good road map for getting started and then
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: If as you're pulling, you know, like going out there to do it, you need more, you know, you can still connect with Tammy outside of that afterwards.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, come, come join us in order for you to find more information about this go to prft.bus slash events.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_00]: So prft.bus slash events that'll put you on our wait list for our live events that we're doing for profitable Pilates.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: So even in Pilates or other fitness instructors who are wanting to do more in-home,
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: So instead of having your own space, you use their space.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: This is for you.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're even just curious about it, like it's going to be affordable and worthwhile so that you don't, you can go full and knowing you love this or going, woop, I'm so out on that.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like Tammy, I think it would joke to me on this episode.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like I am not an in-home Pilates teacher.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: It does not.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to come to me.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: but like, she's so good at it, you know?
