0:00
[rock music] Hello. Hello. This is Sven.
0:18
It's also Full Spectrum Cycling number 168. 168 ways to waste a half hour. [laughs] Is that an Elfermer or something? I, I... We haven't done a lot of number, numerology stuff yet lately. Just wondering.
0:36
JK is over there. Hello there. Tony's over there. I'm right here. You know, if we did this in stereo, it could actually kinda- Be cool... we could do that. Yeah. Just take more- Bandwidth...
0:46
button pushing probably or something. We come in from- We could, I could pan between you. Yeah, there's a- Be like... [mimicking panning] As, as a meta medic. Hey, hey, hey, hey. I can do Doppler effect.
0:56
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, kitten. Now that we're making progress on the house, I've been kinda looking at new stereo equipment. I'm pretty...
1:03
Since I haven't looked for a long time, I'm kind of freaking out as to what's available, which is really impressive. Sonos, baby. Small components. Didn't we talk about this last week?
1:14
No, I'm, I'm going bigger than that. Didn't I say Sonos? Yeah. Oh, you... Dude. I'm gonna do a room, I wanna do a room audio. It'll be okay. Sonos will be big.
1:24
Also, you can play on each speaker in the same room something different, so you can kinda simulate Summerfest. That sounds terrible. [laughs] That sounds terrible. Just like Summerfest. Yeah. [laughs] Right?
1:34
Summerfest- Wow, we've digressed right away and doing, you know. Right. Oh, hey, Summerfest is coming up in Milwaukee here, folks, in a f- a few weekends, 'cause it's three weekends in a row now. There's some good shows.
1:44
Say hi to my daughter. She'll be working. She's, she's a- I got, I got familiar, I got familiar with the, uh, um, the noise bleed from behind EMO because it all- Oh, okay. You figured it all out?
1:56
Well, Pridefest was going on. Mm-hmm. When I went back to snipe the Primus show last week. Uh-huh, uh-huh. And it worked out perfectly. Oh. Nice, nice. Nobody was there.
2:06
There was a song and a half where it was just like, I don't think I've been this calm and, like, decompressed in my life- During, during the Primus show?... at a, at a, yeah Oh, yeah... at a concert.
2:17
Independent of song. Nice. You know, it was just like, "There's no one here and I don't care, [laughs] and I'm all by myself." I loved it. Ah. Well, if anybody is coming- [laughs]...
2:26
to, uh, Milwaukee for Summerfest, there's an app for that you can- Yeah, of course... you can- Cars... you can, uh- Some great shows... favor- favorite all your favorite shows and figure out what days they're gonna be.
2:35
There are some great shows. I just hate Summerfest. The Cult, The Cult, The Cult, that's my chase. That's my uni- That's the, that's like- That's my unicorn of the season... that's the last night, right? I have no idea.
2:43
I believe it's the last night. Oh, okay. So it'll be a good way to close it out. I, I could probably break my Summerfest rule to go see The Cult. No shit, yeah. At 10 o'clock or something- I-... at, uh, Uline.
2:52
Oh, on a Sunday? Oh, it's Uline? Oh, that'd even be- I believe it's at Uline, yeah, pretty sure. That's an easily snipable one too. Yeah, totally. [laughs] North end of the grounds, yeah, yeah.
3:00
And that would they, be the way they would want it to. Mm-hmm. All right. All right. So, uh- The pieces are in motion... what's, what's going on around, uh, the shop? What's going on around the shop, Greg? [laughs] Sven?
3:14
Well, I pushed everything out of the shop so we can seal the floor. Oh, looks good. Also put some displays up, so we're, we're moving forward on the- Yeah... on the shop. Espades.
3:23
I got, I got a notice from Otto at Dropout Fight Club that they're gonna start construction soon. Oh. So that'll be good for the building, hopefully. What are they doing in the old...
3:34
In the old, old- Rad- Uh, House of Rad space? No, in the, uh, your old space. Oh, that's gonna be bathrooms and showers, I believe, mostly. Oh, that's it. Yeah, yeah, they gotta- Oh. Curious.
3:44
And then two new bathrooms down by the bike shop? No. Even better. They're completely walling themselves off [laughs] from us. But what about a bathroom? Are we gonna get that for retail? Well, we have a bathroom.
3:56
We still- We can call that retail? Cool. We got a bathroom. All right. Uh, I think, well, allegedly, it's going to be rebuilt at some point to be ADA compliant. It'll have to be.
4:06
So they're gonna wall us off completely, so we don't even have to have a little door to see them? Apparently not. Oh, that breaks my heart. I think it'll be all right. It does not break my heart at all.
4:13
[laughs] I was looking forward to the, um, CrossFit people coming to the new bathrooms that were supposed to be across from the shop- Right, that'd be cool... so they could see the shop, but
4:23
once we get a door on the front of the building- They-... it'll be fine... they're, they're gonna all buy manufactured bikes. It'll be fine. They're gonna buy Treks and shit, you know. They're too in CrossFit.
4:31
Probably that's true. Heaven of my big beer. [laughs] Your big beer is starting to talk there. So, you know. [laughs] I- in the meantime, since- In vino veritas, I tell you.
4:42
[laughs] In the meantime, since we're not, you know, totally open, you could always go to everydaycycles.com and get something nice for yourself, possibly.
4:52
I think everything that's on the site is actually- Father's Day is just around the corner... the in- inventory's actually pretty accurate o- online. Good. So, and Father's Day just around the corner. Who's your daddy?
5:00
Speaking of Father's Day, when is... Is that the weekend of, um, Fat Tire II? Do you not know? It would be, I don't know. That's in two weeks. Isn't that Father's Day? Uh, that's in two weeks. I do not know.
5:15
My, my buttons, my button pushing- You're a dad. My, my- Freaking look it up... I don't even have Fat Tire II on here for some reason- Nice... as a, an event.
5:22
I think it's the- I slowly- I think it's on the 19- Sorry, Jason... 18th or something... my thumbs are taking its time- We'll, we'll get to that sometime... trying to find the thing. It's not, uh, the 19th at...
5:33
The 19th. Right on. Is that a Saturday? The weekend of Fat Tire. Fa- yeah, is Father's Day weekend. Yeah. But, yeah, so Sa- the Saturday, the 18th is Fat Tire II. Yeah. Father's Day and Juneteenth, and Taco Fest.
5:44
All good things on a Sunday. Taco Fest. Wait, what? Taco Fest down at the new Tap Yard, um, the beer garden that they opened up, um, the Riverwalk, River Center, Aurora thing. Okay, okay.
6:00
It just, I mean, all of that parking lot that- But this-... never [laughs]... this rolls into my notes Taco what notes? That would be Burrito Fest. Apparently the- Rolling... the song It's Raining Tacos- Ah... on YouTube
6:14
was written by the lead singer of, help me out there. Nerf Herder. Nerf Herder. Nerf Herder. Misspelled on the show notes, by the way. Was it? Oh, sorry. No, no. N-U- No worries... R-F-F? N-E-R-F. You said two F's? N-E.
6:25
Oh, N-E-R-F. Sorry. Of course, Nerf Herder. I'm, I'm- Now it's correctly spelled. I- Thank you... totally took care of that with the computer. Yeah, he apparently- Computer technology...
6:33
he apparently pays for a lot of his lifestyle because of that one YouTube video, and I can totally see it. There you go. According to Squid in the interview today, who, Squid is apparently friends with him.
6:43
This is, again, I believe I put in the notes, this is why you need to listen to WMSC. Because of Nerf Herder doing- It's just any-... Raining Tacos... all the little bits- Yeah...
6:52
of knowledge you get musically re- re- musically related. Yeah. I noticed that they were coming to town, then I noticed that they're... I didn't listen today, but that's why they have the archives.
7:02
Their Van Halen song- But they-... is so good. Yeah. Well, and I, back in my old radio days, late '90s, that's when they were just kicking out. Nerf Herder. Yeah. Yeah.
7:12
'Cause I know I have one of their CDs in my box of treasure that I haven't really gone through. They've done a song with Weird Al because he's friends with Weird Al.
7:18
I mean, it, it's- They've just got a great Star Wars reference name. Of course it's gonna- Yeah, I suppose... da, da, da, da. You know, that gives you a lot, little bit of currency that can [whistles] stretch out a bit.
7:27
Yeah. I think I'm gonna have to watch Obi-Wan number four again because I didn't totally pay attention to it. It was on, but I was doing some other stuff- Sure... and I'm like, "Damn it." Yeah.
7:37
We turned into the m- the movie hour or TV series? Star Wars. Well, it's the Nerf Herder- Have you watched The Men yet? It's very fluid. Uh- Fluid movement... no, follow it. Follow it. Nerf Herder, Star Wars, Obi-Wan.
7:46
I have said, "Have you guys watched The Men?" Um, and it's a- What, what, what is the connection? Oh, is Obi-Wan not a man?... superhero. It's a streaming service. I guess that's the connection. [laughs] What, The Boys?
7:55
I swear I did f- The Boys. Thank you. The Men. [laughs] Jesus, that's, that's the, uh, after hours with Men. Apparently. Pretty soon it's gonna be Raining Men. I know. That one's pretty after hours.
8:04
[laughs] It's pretty good. I've heard good things, and I, what are they, in season three now? Yeah, I'm, uh, I'm only just- So there's enough time-... starting season two... well, there's enough back- Yeah...
8:11
catalog- It's, it's good... that I can watch when I wanna watch it. It's pretty dark. I love it. That's why I hate the, I, I mean, I love the, [sighs]
8:19
like, the Obi-Wan or Mandalorian or Boba Fett, whatever, where it's, like, every week. So it is kinda like- Yeah, sometimes-... we're in TV again... de- decompressing. Yeah. I hate that, though.
8:29
Well- Like, give me it all. Give me it all at once. No, I kinda like- If I, if I-... I kinda like appointment television. A little bit... but it's, but it's there.
8:35
Once the appointment is made and you miss it, then it's there still. Yeah. So it's not like- So it's not really appointment television then. And then it's like, right.
8:40
Well, the, yeah, and then you have to keep your head in the sand. It is the olden days, like when we were growing up, The Love Boat and- Oh, gosh... you know.
8:47
We were just talking about some of those fun- Love American Style. Oh, yeah... fun, fun, fun shows- Do you remember Blue Blood?... from the older times, which you can still get on MeTV if you- MeTV... are so inclined.
8:57
Yes. MeTV, Comet. Oh, there's a lot of good over-the-air ones. [laughs] So tell me about your, uh, 420 clunker, Greg. Yeah, I was gonna sorta get into that a little bit. Well, there we are.
9:08
I know people re- Are we ready? We talked about the Meerkat a couple weeks ago, right? I, yeah, we did. It's pretty cool.
9:12
I can, I, I was kinda curious if somebody actually paid money to make that bike instead of having donated parts to pimp it out- Right... what it would actually cost on what is essentially a $120 frame or something.
9:26
Right. It's outrageous. I, yeah. It's gorgeous. It's gotta be three grand or something. Yeah. So I m- I minorly pimped my 420, just a little bit. Okay. Little bit. Little Sunrise Bar, little Thompson stem- Well-...
9:37
little Thompson seat post. That's not, man, that is, compared to the other bikes- Yeah, a little Ergon saddle... Meerkat, yeah, that's, that's still pimp and nice. Right. You know, I, it's just- Do you like it?
9:46
So far so good. Yeah. Yeah. It's, it's a, they're, all those, any of those state bicycles are fun. This one has the CST Patrol tires on it instead of the, uh, whatever the WTB tire they put on some of them.
9:59
So it's- Well, at least this is, uh- It's a little more pu-... I say- It's a little more pub crawl friendly...
10:03
this is why you get angry at your daughter and having to buy her a bass boat, because I could have one of those. [laughs] You could have one. It's okay, though.
10:10
It's okay, though, 'cause she gets bass boat and I get bass boat. And we got a picture of bass boat this week. We d- didn't get one last week, so you can- Yeah... see that thing.
10:17
I, that's gonna be, you know, that's gonna be our bike. That's a one-of-a-kind bike. Nobody's gonna have one of those bikes. Right, right. They, they don't even know, they, nobody'll even know what it is.
10:26
She'll be double locking it when she goes to Bummer Fest. I just should make her, let her take it in and put it in the- Right... the ticket booth or something. She should. Right on, right on. Oh, I think. Ah. Oof.
10:41
[bell ringing] It's still climbing. You're still climbing? I'm still climbing. Oh, you got, you got the heavy one over there. I'm climbing. He already finished the heavy one. He's moved on. No, no, no.
10:49
I just needed a chaser for this. Oh, okay, so we're double fisting. [laughs] Kind of. This is- I'm, I'm towards the bottom of this hill. I- I'm close.
10:56
JK can explain what he did and, and why it only cost $5 for a 12-pack- [laughs]... if it doesn't take the rest of the show to get through that story. [laughs] Well, I can stretch it if it needs to. Yeah.
11:05
But I won't, I won't. No, um, it's a 12-pack of, what is it? Terrapin IPA Resuscitation Pack. Survival Kit. Survival Kit. [laughs] Survival Kit. Something like that. And we've had something like this before. Right.
11:19
And they, it's, like, normally mainstays. It hurt last time, too. Well, they have, like, the revolving, uh, like, one is, like, in the parlance of the WMSC times, Buzz's. There's a local Sizzler. Right, right, right.
11:31
You know, something nice and light. And then there's, like, the heavy. This is the heavy. It's the Terrapin Depth Perception clocking, Imperial IPA clocking in at 9.1. Yeah, 9.1. Pack in, pack out. Oh.
11:48
Now, that's, that's pretty hefty. I, I, uh- But, but- This is heavy lifting. But- I mean, towards the, towards the bottom of this it's getting drinkable, so if I had- 'Cause, yeah, it-...
11:55
if there was another one in front of me- You'd probably do it... I could do- And I'm afraid to... I would be, I, it'd be foolhardy- I think-... to do it... yeah.
12:02
[laughs] I like, I, I think the- These are things I get and then like-... the world has the greatest play on words Hops in beer may be closer than they appear.
12:11
[laughs] As a guy who spent good money importing a German mirror for my Volkswagen to eliminate that mirror, I take... This makes me really laugh. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear. Yeah.
12:23
You get rid of it just because- Yeah, I, I ordered a German blue for a Volkswagen, blue German mirror that had convex, convex out- outer sides on the mirror so you had blind spots built in,
12:36
so there was no need for that stupid... I hate looking at a rear view mir- uh, side mirror that has that. So yeah, I spent 60 bucks. Do you still, do, do you still get...
12:45
I don't, I know I haven't gotten a new car in forever, but since they've got, you know, blind spot tracking now, it just has a little light there. Right. Right. I don't think it has the wording there anymore.
12:52
Molly's parents' car, when you turn the blinker on, it actually lights up a camera in the middle of the dash and sees if there's a car next to you. Oh, boy. Like, okay, pretty soon- Too much-...
13:00
you're just gonna let go... too much technology. Let it go. Way too much. Gonna get a, gonna get a GPS-controlled bicycle. Right. Hey, I sent you that link, uh, I spen- I sent Greg that link, not Sven.
13:12
Um, in the week of that, that Indigo bike, that Indiegogo bike that has the... It's the frame that you just bolt together. I've always thought that's a, that's a neat idea.
13:22
But this one is electric, which the cables run through one of the... It's the down tube, and the battery's stored in there. I mean, it's not a great distance, but it's a pretty cool idea.
13:34
I don't rem- I remember looking at it. Is this kind of squarish? It's the... Well, the bike itself, when it's fully assembled, looks like a bike, but it gets shipped in a box that is basically a square. Ah.
13:45
It's [laughs] really a neat idea. It's like- I gotta tell you-... and you can color change it and stuff... for all these consumer direct bicycle companies, packaging is super important. Mm-hmm. Uh, we...
13:57
we're working with a company that shall remain nameless, uh, that had a pandemic-related poofery that really didn't go very well on their boxes. We have to re-box everything.
14:10
We're re-boxing all their bikes, and it just, they kinda disintegrate. I don't know how it happens. Yeah. It's, they look like cardboard, but it's more like hologram cardboard. Interesting. Because it completely just...
14:22
If you ship it from here to Detroit- It's gone... the box will disappear almost. Oh. It'll have holes in it. It'll have stuff sticking out of it, and it just like, eh... You need a packaging engineer for your bike.
14:33
There you go. On the flip side of that- Cover on top of the cover... uh, Milwaukee By Bike got some electric bikes for rental. Nice. I forget exa- They might be Pedegos possibly. Yeah, those are good bikes.
14:46
They're white. They got 20-inch wheels, and they come in the most, uh, protective packaging that I could possibly imagine for a bike. So it came totally safe? Very safe. It double boxed all sorts of- Yeah, see...
14:58
stuff, keeping it from flopping around in there. Why not spend a little bit, the 50 bucks extra to double box it- Right... than the, you know, $100 to return it because it's fucked up?
15:07
I, I think this was more of a, more of a partially communication issue and partially middle of the pandemic, did you have a choice who you worked with?
15:17
And then you get, you know, shot yourself in the foot 'cause your, didn't do your due diligence or whatever. But- Right... anyway, yeah, so we're having to re-box hun- A lot of bikes... hundreds of bikes.
15:28
[laughs] It's, it's something to do while we get the shop going because- Yes, but that's-... I guess if it wasn't for that work, we would have probably just thrown in the towel possibly. I don't know. Yeah.
15:38
You did build a lot of them. Yeah, we're still going. We're still going. We got more. More pallets- Thank you. Thank you, Steven... arriving daily. Thank you, Steven. So spinning- Yeah... back here to the Terrapin beers.
15:49
Oh, yeah. [laughs] Uh, Greg is drinking the locale. Where's Greg? Sven. Sven. Where's Sven? Sven. Where's Greg? Sven. Greg Sven. Sven. Greg Sven. Where's Sven?
15:59
O- owing to the fact that I got a doctor's appointment in the AM. Yeah. So that's the, the sim- no, the low, the low power, 4.7, I believe, in there. Recreation ale. Yeah.
16:12
And then they got the Hopsecutioner, which is good, very tasty, about seven, and then some other IPA luau around the sixes. Something like that. But the local Kroger thingy-majigger- Kroger...
16:28
they have it [laughs] in their weekly ad, Terrapin or Busch Light, select varieties, 12-pack, 9.99 with card. And you didn't, and- So I saw that... and you didn't get the Busch Light? And you didn't get the Busch Light?
16:40
[laughs] Well, that's the, the shitty... I mean, I shit you not. I mean, I can't make this up. That's hilarious. You should've sent that. That should be in the show notes too. [laughs] It's like, oh, God. So I, I...
16:51
They didn't have it, the one over here, so I went to the Van Buren. He's pointing north. Well, I'm painting a word picture. Is that what I'm doing? So I went south to, uh, the- You went to the Swinging Door...
17:03
went to Swinging Door because on my way there, might as well get a hot dog. And I didn't win the- What kind of hot dog, first of all? Western. Always a Western. Nice. Oh, yeah. [laughs] Always a Western. Damn.
17:15
I'm taking a Wednesday off just to go get that freaking hot dog. Hell yeah. So I hit the one on Van Buren too, and they fu- da, da, da, da, da. And there it was?
17:25
There it is, but clocking in at 15.99, and I'm like, "That's wrong." That's not 9.99. So I, I bring it up on the phone. I'm like, "I'm gonna have to go to battle when I go to this to check out."
17:35
I mean, like, went to the thing, boom. Oh, hey, it was slow, so it was like, ah, see, this is the thing that da-da, it says 9.99 and whatever.
17:47
So he agrees and taps it in at 9.99, and then it was like, okay, now time to pay. Pay now takes a f- $5 coupon, Terrapin coupon off, which is like what I think is what gets you down to the 9.99.
18:00
[laughs] So instead, it was $5. So fi- all of a sudden it was like, "Your total is 5.27," or whatever [laughs] So I'm drinking a 45 cent 9.2 There's something just so awesome about that I- if you could buy...
18:14
I, I think Terrapin would sell more beer than anybody in the country if they could sell this beer for $5 a 12 pack 10 bucks a 12 pack I, I- For fuck's sake...
18:22
yeah, I don't think they could do that, but if they could, yes Well, they couldn't stay in business probably They gotta be j- like, or the c- Kroger or somebody is sitting on a lot Even $10 They're sitting on a lot of 12 packs...
18:34
yeah, they're, they must have a lot of these beers. Yeah, because that's a pretty good deal And just like, gotta get going. Yeah. 'Cause, yeah, 10- Well, that- 10 buck- well, 10 bucks for any 12 pack...
18:42
even if you buy... Right [laughs] Just- So when you buy this 12 pack and you get to these last three 9.2s- Yeah...
18:47
you're kinda like, "Ugh" They, you may, they, you, you gotta- It's only a nine pack, and then I'm gonna drink one of these a month Yeah. It's like barley- Fair enough...
18:55
it's like barley wine or something It's pretty close to barley wine Yeah... I'm not gonna lie. It, and now n- now lo- lonely listener, it's not a bad beer at all. It's actually fantastic. Yeah, it's very- But-...
19:05
very good... it's heavy. I still haven't gotten to the top of the hill I'm, I'm swinging Oh, you're, you're [laughs] I'm g- I, I'm starting to walk my bike [laughs] And I have e-assist, that's how bad this is [laughs]
19:17
Well, I'm, I'm gonna pop into the, uh... I, it's still one of my favorite beer names, Hopsicutioner And it is tasty. I like that one a lot And is that Leonardo, or is that, uh, Donatello, or is it just a- Uh, that's-...
19:27
a hop turtle? That's- The Terrap- Terr- That's the one they don't talk about... Terrapin the hop turtle That's the cousin. Okay That's the cousin that took a turn to the... [laughs] Just, I digress- [laughs]...
19:36
'cause it just popped into my head, but, uh, just so you guys know, this place called Oskar's that has burgers- Which one? It has, uh, voodoo- The one that's like a barn, or the one that is like on Pierce?
19:48
On Pierce Okay. Because there are two Uh, as I well know The barn one doesn't have beer Uh, it- You know what? Oh, good point, good point.
19:55
I'm- Well, do you know- You're right, I do get in this conversation every once in a while. They're like, "Oh, they got great cheeseburgers." I'm like, "No, you're talking about Oskar's over in Highwood."
20:01
And they don't have bad cheeseburgers No, they're pretty good Yeah. [laughs] Actually, the fries are pretty outstanding too. But I went to Oskar's on 17th and Pierce, and they still have Zombie Dust at five bucks a pint
20:14
Which- Blessed... is a pretty darn... I mean, everything else is four, which is still like stupidly cheap Yeah But when you can get a Zombie Dust for five bucks a pint- I haven't been, I haven't been to Oskar's-...
20:26
it's damn unjust... oh my God, in years now that I think about it Years? Years. I think- Who is he? [laughs] I, I've been to Winner's Circle- I will give you-... which is technically it... two weeks.
20:39
If you don't see Oskar in, or Oskar's, you don't necessarily see Oskar himself, in two weeks, dude, we're done. That's it. We're done. Is the, uh, really short bartender guy still there?
20:51
Uh- He wasn't there the last time I was there You know who I'm talking about Yeah, of course, of course, yeah He's like, he's just like, you know, da, da, da, da.
20:55
Yeah, one of them went across the street and works at the auto body place now more often than he works at the bar, but I don't think that's Javier or who- whoever you're talking about. Yeah. I can't...
21:06
No, I think the last time was- I think we were there together actually. Not together- Well, um-... but you guys were- Like during-... you and Kim were walking out when I was walking in...
21:13
during, during pandemic time Yep Yes. So- But that was during, that was during Fat Tire Tour or something, wasn't it?
21:21
At, at, it was one of the ones where you're kind of on your own, but you were still kind of following a route possibly Maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe. I don't know. Could've been in the spirit world
21:30
Could've been in the spirit world [laughs] All right. Hey, I've- Why can't we eat J. Evans? Why ain't they killing us? [laughs] I don't, I don't think, uh- They can't see us, asshole.

22:47
You know where our product is now? In boxes. Yeah Guess what you can't see? Stuff in boxes. Guess what I'm trying to find just- They should park it out in the light...
22:54
I was trying to find grips for a repair today, and I'm like, "I know I got grips in a box, but I don't know where the box is." [laughs] Yes, this is a challenge,
23:04
but it will, it will all be worth it in the end, as they say, hopefully. [laughs] All right. Just pushing a button over there. Um- How's, uh, how's your, uh, Bobcat miner doing, Craig? Craig?
23:19
Bobcat miner doing pretty well. Doing pretty- Yeah... well, one of them is. The one at my house is doing reasonably well.
23:25
Got it set over five Helium now That's like 50 bucks Well, but when it goes to where it was before, that's 250 Be like... Yeah, I know In like two weeks I can, I can do that all day long Yeah.

23:55
We could, uh- Uh, just what's coming up? Anything fun? What's coming up? Well, we got the River West 24, we got the Wausa 24, we got Single Speed USA- I mean this weekend Oh, jeez, I have no idea. I, oh- Locust Street...
24:08
uh, well, you know- Like the not, the not Locust Street Isn't that next weekend? Or is it this Saturday? Sunday. It's Sunday. Sunday. Oh, okay. All right. Oh, you're right, you're right.
24:17
I backtrack my let's get the hell out of here talk, and have to say that t- tomorrow- The unofficial... Saturday the 11th at 6:00 PM is actually the Nut Factory open house. Yes.
24:28
Of which- Well, that's the wrong time of year. I like it... yeah, it's usually in February. Right... F- F- February, which this year was like, ah, let's- Remind me of that, please... we can't do that.
24:37
Uh, my daughter Sydney is going to have some photographs on exhibit- tion- tion- then there. [laughs] As well as I think s- I think we'll have some of my dad's. My dad is long gone, but he did some awesome photography.
24:51
And I don't know if Sven or Greg or whatever the hell his name is is gonna put any of his stuff up. He's a punk ass. But it's kind of a three generation photography thing, and Sydney- Not if Sven doesn't put anything up.
25:01
Then it's just two generations. Well, but I made the kid that did it, so it's a third generation. Oh, bullshit. [laughs] You just provided the sperm. So... Well, that's true. So maybe.
25:11
Uh, it's not- Me, uh- I've never had a paternity test done... I, I, I'm right there with you, brother. I'm right there with you. So it's possible, but- Love you, Molly. I don't know, the kid's cool, so who knows?
25:17
Yeah, right? I don't know. Oh, by the way, I had, uh, misdirected mail at work from Molly. [laughs] Nice. [laughs] I was going through my mail, I'm like, "What?" [laughs] It's junk, but I haven't thrown it away yet.
25:31
Oh, forward it to me. That sounds hilarious. I should have brought it with me. I kind of flaked on that. To complete the story about why people might wanna stop by- Yes...
25:37
uh, Sydney got a grant from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse a couple of years ago, the summer before the pandemic, to travel around the country to some spots out west.
25:47
My dad had studied with Ansel Adams, and had a similar style to Ansel Adams, and a similar love of national parks and out westy stuff. And Sydney h- came up with an i- idea- Better than you... You should see my stuff.
26:01
I just don't print it. Yeah, just gotta see what- My stuff is good. I mean, you gotta see- So- Sorry, go on. Go on...
26:06
so her, so her whole deal was that she was going to see what environmental impacts have happened- This is awesome...
26:12
in the 50 plus years since Ansel Adams did his work, and the 40 plus years since my dad did his work, and take similar viewpoints of some of these iconic shots. And I, they, a lot of the- What a great idea. Yeah.
26:25
What a great idea. She got a grant. They... My wife and my daughter drove around and camped and- I remember that... did all that stuff. I remember that.
26:32
So those photos will be on exhibit at 3720 North Fratney Street, Nut Factory. Oh, you gotta go.
26:38
It's such a great place to have fun and- Which oddly enough is, like, we could throw a stone and hit that building from our building here. But we'd probably knock over a beer. Yeah, maybe. Hopefully. Yeah.
26:47
Or not hopefully, 'cause you don't wanna waste a beer, but you know. True that. So there you go. That's happening this weekend, Saturday, 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Le Nut Factory. And I do believe they're doing the...
27:01
I think they've renamed it, rebranded it. The Toy Factory? No, the, um- [laughs]... Fifth Street Bike Fest. Oh, yeah. They have reached that. I mean, it's- That's also Saturday. Yeah. That's- Oh...
27:12
like essentially what the Polish Moon Ride was. The, the last time- Now it's- The last time I was at the Nut Factory annual party, uh, Victor DeLorenzo played with, um, who's the young lady? Janet?
27:26
And were they 19- 1913. 1913. That was a great show to just walk in on and be like, "Wait a minute, that's Victor DeLorenzo."
27:36
[laughs] Like, what's the chance of you walking in and seeing one of the members of, you know, the f- the, you know, The Fems, and be like, "Holy cow, I'm in River West just walking into a, a fun time"?
27:48
And there they are. Exactly. Side note on that- Just fun stuff... like a couple, uh, days ago, and say what you will about The Face Place, and I... It- Oh, yeah...
27:57
but it is kind of a little time capsule at times when you look at memories. Like, oh, hey, you know, what was I blathering about nine years ago, six years ago, three years ago?
28:06
And I think it was about six-ish years ago, three years ago, something like that, when The Fems played a free show at Riverside. And you just, like, had to get tickets just to, you know- Nice...
28:19
it was just simple to get tickets. I mean, more or less simple. And, uh, apparently I won them and I didn't quite realize it. And then I stopped at Nomad and Sam was like, "Dude, you won tickets, and here they are."
28:33
And I'm like, "It's tonight." I'm like, "Dude, I'm going out to dinner." Oh, well. So went out to dinner and- And then went to see- And then went to go see The Fems.
28:41
So missed a couple of the tunes, but I just remember- That's all right... oh, for the most part it was just so fucking rad. They're fun. Oh, man. They're fun. Yeah, I mean, that's the way, you know?
28:49
They played the Color Me ones off the Crow soundtrack live. Ah. That's- That was like [laughs] I mean, as I walked in and like, like as I got situated, boom. You're playing my... One of my fucking jams, man. Oh. Okay.
29:03
All right. And we're back on track. And we're back on track. Yeah. All right. You can't l- you can't leave a derailed train and pull the plug on the show. You have to- Oh, you can pull the plug on the show.
29:13
Well, yeah, but you... It's good form to put it back. Are we like 80 minutes into this 30-minute show? The, the train is back on the tracks. It feels like it. No. So. Oh, no. It... We're just getting seconds away.
29:21
It's a blank screen. Seconds away. All right, everybody. All still blank screen. Thanks for listening to our pop culture music reference- No blank screen. Still blank screen...
29:28
somewhat bike talky show thing that we just did. And, uh- Blank screen... I guess show 169 next week, so- Ooh... by cracky, put it on your calendar for Friday at 10:00 AM. Yeah. Woo-hoo.
29:40
We'll come up with something clever on the n- Or Tuesday at 9:00 when Dr. Sushi starts. [laughs] Yeah, yeah. That could be fun. My favorite time to listen. Oh, be nice. All right. Happy Pride Month. [laughs] Bye.
29:50
