- 2:26Speaker 4: by Judge elect Rich Lindsay coming up on tomorrow's show.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Speaking of which, every now and then on the show,
- 2:32Speaker 4: I do get a good positive story and this certainly
- 2:34Speaker 4: is one. A new business on the West Side, but
- 2:37Speaker 4: something totally different. It's called Miss Ruby's Corner Market and
- 2:39Speaker 4: Deli Durell Miller is here and Darrell of course is
- 2:43Speaker 4: with the Keep Your Faith Corporation and he's here to
- 2:46Speaker 4: talk about it. Good morning, Sarah, welcome to the show.
- 2:48Speaker 6: Good morning, thanks for having me, Thank you for being
- 2:50Speaker 6: here today.
- 2:50Speaker 4: All right, so this has been a long time coming,
- 2:54Speaker 4: the whole market, but you've been doing with the Keep
- 2:56Speaker 4: Your Faith Corporation for a while we'll talk about that
- 2:58Speaker 4: a little bit later on, but talk about the undertaking
- 3:00Speaker 4: of this market on the West Side.
- 3:03Speaker 6: Well, it's been, it's been. It's been a love labor
- 3:05Speaker 6: of love.
- 3:05Speaker 7: You know, it's probably about two years and then making
- 3:08Speaker 7: we've been doing that the store. I think it's important
- 3:10Speaker 7: because a lot of folks in our neighborhood that wasn't
- 3:12Speaker 7: didn't have access to fresh fruits and vegetables. And we
- 3:15Speaker 7: started doing pop up farmers' markets in the elementary schools
- 3:18Speaker 7: and the senior high rises and it's got more feedback about,
- 3:21Speaker 7: you know, wishing that was regularly available. So we ended
- 3:26Speaker 7: up working with the city to get this building on
- 3:28Speaker 7: the corner of the West Side.
- 3:29Speaker 6: It used to be the old park Place bar.
- 3:33Speaker 7: Myself and our partner organization, VIS Virginia Food and Farm Coalition,
- 3:38Speaker 7: we got the build and renovated.
- 3:39Speaker 6: It's a renovate. We had a you know how it go.
- 3:40Speaker 7: We had a contractor that it didn't work out well,
- 3:43Speaker 7: scheme to really bad put us back a year really
- 3:47Speaker 7: but now it's up and going and we're thankful to positive.
- 3:49Speaker 7: It's been positive for the neighborhood and the feedback has
- 3:51Speaker 7: been great.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Somebody commented. When I posted, as a matter of fact
- 3:54Speaker 4: on my social media page that you were going to
- 3:55Speaker 4: be here, somebody commented and said something to the effect
- 3:59Speaker 4: of that the a former bar, and it's great to
- 4:01Speaker 4: see that building of that building renovating. Now for folks
- 4:03Speaker 4: that may not know exactly where it is, what's the.
- 4:06Speaker 6: Address, It's seven thirty nine Central Avenue.
- 4:08Speaker 4: Okay, So what all goes into miss in the Miss Rubies.
- 4:13Speaker 7: We got fresh produce, We have a lot of local products,
- 4:16Speaker 7: local farmers, local uh, like local honey, things like that
- 4:21Speaker 7: hot sauce, and we also have a deli.
- 4:23Speaker 6: In the back, chef keys. He's leading up that.
- 4:27Speaker 7: It's been it's been good on the sense of that
- 4:29Speaker 7: it's something new and that's something that I think can
- 4:31Speaker 7: be sustainable over there for long term.
- 4:35Speaker 6: It's what the goal is. You know.
- 4:36Speaker 7: The end up having another Miss Ruby somewhere else will
- 4:38Speaker 7: be will be great. But right now it's that's just
- 4:40Speaker 7: the focus.
- 4:41Speaker 8: Uh.
- 4:42Speaker 7: We have a lot of kids come in and we
- 4:45Speaker 7: want to asking for jobs, so we just have him
- 4:46Speaker 7: sweeping around and stuff some of the young younger kids.
- 4:48Speaker 4: You know, how many people are involved in this just
- 4:50Speaker 4: in the store aspect of it. Not the foundation of
- 4:52Speaker 4: the corporation, but just the store. How many how many
- 4:54Speaker 4: people were talking on.
- 4:55Speaker 6: Average, either working there or just.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Working or just involved in the project.
- 5:00Speaker 7: Man, there's so many foods in West Virginia. Food and
- 5:02Speaker 7: Farm Coalition has been a great partner of ours jobs
- 5:05Speaker 7: and Hope has been a great partner with ours, the
- 5:08Speaker 7: paling Time Foundation, because we're own the whole building. In
- 5:11Speaker 7: the bottom part right now is the grocery store and
- 5:12Speaker 7: the Delhi but we're going to start renovations on the
- 5:15Speaker 7: top part of the grocery store with which will extend
- 5:17Speaker 7: our behavior health program as well as our workforce development
- 5:20Speaker 7: program in our agricultural program.
- 5:23Speaker 4: And you and I have known each other for a while.
- 5:25Speaker 4: We actually did the three Things thing with Jeff Shirley
- 5:28Speaker 4: earlier in the year, and I got to listen to
- 5:31Speaker 4: your story then. But why is all of this and
- 5:34Speaker 4: I'm talking about the Keep Your Faith Foundation to Miss
- 5:37Speaker 4: Ruby's why is all this so important to you?
- 5:39Speaker 7: I'll tell you something the log gave to me. I
- 5:41Speaker 7: had reading problems growing up, and I just was struggling.
- 5:44Speaker 7: I didn't know what life was going to bring me.
- 5:46Speaker 7: You know, the Lord blessed me with this I didn't
- 5:48Speaker 7: know it was going to be this, and all of
- 5:50Speaker 7: it is, you know what it.
- 5:51Speaker 6: Is, but it's important. It's not just for me.
- 5:54Speaker 7: I've been We've been able to bless other people, you know,
- 5:56Speaker 7: with this jobs and just waking up and being an
- 5:59Speaker 7: organization when you could have purpose in And for me,
- 6:02Speaker 7: that's great.
- 6:02Speaker 6: I love getting up and put a man I ain't wear.
- 6:04Speaker 7: My sweatshirt a hoodie and logo on it, but I
- 6:07Speaker 7: love getting up and doing that.
- 6:08Speaker 6: It gives me. It gives me a reason, you know,
- 6:10Speaker 6: to push.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Talk about your interest in farming.
- 6:14Speaker 7: I'm gonna tell you, man farmer came from mister Tolliver.
- 6:17Speaker 7: Mister Tom Tolliver's older guy in our neighborhood. I think
- 6:21Speaker 7: he turned ninety three something like that the other day,
- 6:23Speaker 7: maybe a couple of weeks ago, but it's later that
- 6:26Speaker 7: body mcclum.
- 6:27Speaker 6: I was in the schools.
- 6:29Speaker 7: We was doing little programs in the schools, and she
- 6:31Speaker 7: would start telling me about mister Tolliver's community gardens.
- 6:34Speaker 6: Did he need help with him?
- 6:35Speaker 7: And I really wasn't interested, to be honest, but she
- 6:38Speaker 7: kept saying something and I knew my uncle Norm, so
- 6:40Speaker 7: I went over there, me and.
- 6:41Speaker 6: A couple of friends.
- 6:41Speaker 7: You just go over there and this hangout, just let
- 6:43Speaker 7: people know he was there. We was there with him,
- 6:45Speaker 7: and he kept saying, go to this junior master gardening
- 6:47Speaker 7: class for West Virginia State.
- 6:49Speaker 6: I'm like a man, I don't know, I don't know.
- 6:51Speaker 7: But he kept pushing it and kept pushing it, and
- 6:53Speaker 7: then one day met a friend of mine, Larry Larry Moore.
- 6:56Speaker 7: We went and it was probably was the best thing
- 6:58Speaker 7: we ever did. Well, I know for me it was.
- 7:00Speaker 7: It introduced me in into really really starting to understand, like,
- 7:04Speaker 7: you know, you can do a lot with this farm
- 7:06Speaker 7: and thing and feed a lot of people.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Uh.
- 7:08Speaker 7: So then we started from Mare. We get West side
- 7:10Speaker 7: of Elementary. Gave us a chance to put a small
- 7:12Speaker 7: garden in the uh in the yard, two bed, two plots,
- 7:17Speaker 7: that's it, you know what I'm saying. And then we
- 7:19Speaker 7: end up growing at lots of thirty beds. We had
- 7:21Speaker 7: wheelchair actually we had U shaped beds for the wheelchair kids.
- 7:24Speaker 7: Back in the day, when we first started, it was
- 7:26Speaker 7: just for special education classes. Uh, just because we didn't
- 7:29Speaker 7: see them outside of doing anything. People want to create
- 7:31Speaker 7: a space where they could come and they families could
- 7:33Speaker 7: come and feel comfortable and then it grew from there.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Talk about the need to get young people involved in
- 7:41Speaker 4: things like historial.
- 7:42Speaker 7: I'm telling you we have done a couple of different
- 7:44Speaker 7: things with the youth.
- 7:46Speaker 9: Uh.
- 7:46Speaker 6: This past year was our first cool board.
- 7:49Speaker 7: We had about four five students to come and they
- 7:51Speaker 7: worked the forums help develop them. And then we had
- 7:55Speaker 7: a program. We got a program called Produce Pedlars. It
- 7:58Speaker 7: was ain't that the juvenile like centers and just to
- 8:02Speaker 7: get you know, you guarding and stuff like that. You
- 8:04Speaker 7: gotta you gotta feel something. You can't just throw it
- 8:06Speaker 7: in the dirt and just walk away and expect to grow.
- 8:09Speaker 7: You know, once you put your feelings into it and
- 8:11Speaker 7: you start to see it and you start to change
- 8:13Speaker 7: a little bit of how you see to see things,
- 8:15Speaker 7: you know what I'm saying. So getting the youth involved
- 8:17Speaker 7: and teaching them this Mister Tarby used to always say,
- 8:19Speaker 7: we go to schools and teach kids be like, well,
- 8:21Speaker 7: we asked kids where to catch up come from, and
- 8:23Speaker 7: they're like from Kroger's where French fries come from?
- 8:26Speaker 6: From down the street?
- 8:27Speaker 9: You dig.
- 8:28Speaker 6: But then we start.
- 8:28Speaker 7: Showing them, now you can grow these things, and you
- 8:30Speaker 7: can grow right in your backyard if you want to.
- 8:32Speaker 7: It's been amazing to even listen to some of the
- 8:35Speaker 7: young folks thinking like how they see it, and like
- 8:38Speaker 7: I wasn't even thinking about it like that. So I
- 8:40Speaker 7: have a first it's like apprenticeship. My first year lady
- 8:45Speaker 7: young and they mean she's nineteen. She's so into it.
- 8:48Speaker 7: She even takes stuff from the farmer, take it to
- 8:50Speaker 7: Miss Rubies and chef puts it in the recipes. So
- 8:53Speaker 7: it's just it's amazing to sit back and think about
- 8:56Speaker 7: I was dim, like I relaidn't nothing about guarding, you know,
- 8:59Speaker 7: and then see how it's sparked my interest to grow
- 9:02Speaker 7: and keep pushing. I loved them. I love to see
- 9:05Speaker 7: them do that.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Talk again with Darrell Miller. I want to talk about
- 9:07Speaker 4: this foundation to Keep your Faith Corporation. Talk about it
- 9:10Speaker 4: because that's kind of like the thing to get all
- 9:12Speaker 4: of this started. But talk about the talk about the corporation, Keep.
- 9:16Speaker 7: Your Favors, the five ol we'll see three organization we've
- 9:18Speaker 7: probably been we've been around since two thousand and nine.
- 9:22Speaker 6: Two thousand and six.
- 9:23Speaker 7: We kind of started, you know, we as a violence
- 9:24Speaker 7: start as a volunteer group just wanted to make a
- 9:27Speaker 7: difference in the neighborhood and in the school system. Like
- 9:29Speaker 7: I said, I couldn't read growing up, So the main
- 9:31Speaker 7: focus was clash froom behavior and kind of seeing.
- 9:33Speaker 6: That it might not be as bad as they look.
- 9:36Speaker 7: Because I know what I was time for me to read,
- 9:39Speaker 7: I'd act up so I didn't have to, you know,
- 9:41Speaker 7: be embarrassed.
- 9:42Speaker 6: You know, it was bad.
- 9:44Speaker 7: But then as we went on, we start we put
- 9:48Speaker 7: in like highercultural therapy, therapy in the gardens. We walk
- 9:51Speaker 7: around and be able to you know, the keys can
- 9:52Speaker 7: come to the gardens and talk and open up a
- 9:54Speaker 7: little bit more outside.
- 9:55Speaker 6: You know, you're in a dirt, you're.
- 9:56Speaker 7: Just getting it, playing and growing, but all of a
- 9:59Speaker 7: sudden you're commun occasionally start talking saying stuff. I remember
- 10:02Speaker 7: a guy we was putting the garden bed together, and
- 10:04Speaker 7: it was at the school, and uh, you know, I'm like, well,
- 10:07Speaker 7: grant me the destructions, and he did. He's just looking
- 10:10Speaker 7: at him, and I'm looking at him, and as I'm
- 10:12Speaker 7: looking at him, I'm starting to think like, okay, hold on,
- 10:14Speaker 7: let me let me help him.
- 10:16Speaker 6: So and then as.
- 10:17Speaker 4: You're probably seeing yourself, yeah, yeah, yeah, you were that guy.
- 10:21Speaker 6: Yeah, and not assuming that he knows how to read.
- 10:23Speaker 7: That's what I had to I had to get back
- 10:25Speaker 7: to that, you know what I mean, Because at first
- 10:26Speaker 7: I was like, here, just give me, tell me what
- 10:27Speaker 7: to say. As as we start working together, I started
- 10:31Speaker 7: noticing certain things so kind of made me ease up
- 10:34Speaker 7: and be a little bit more patient, you know, and
- 10:35Speaker 7: start listening. And once I started listening, he start telling
- 10:39Speaker 7: me stuff, telling me that I can't really read this word,
- 10:41Speaker 7: and then that that was it allowed me to be
- 10:43Speaker 7: able to get him some more help, get him to
- 10:44Speaker 7: the counsel and tell the counselors and stuff like he
- 10:46Speaker 7: having a little bit of problem of reading. So that's
- 10:48Speaker 7: maybe why some of his grades is slipping and his
- 10:49Speaker 7: behavior ain't the best. And that's what it's about for
- 10:53Speaker 7: me right there, you know. The Lord, the Lord gave
- 10:55Speaker 7: me that for that, you know what I'm saying. And
- 10:57Speaker 7: because that was that was a rough childhood on Nesson's.
- 11:00Speaker 7: I love growing up on Charston on the West Side,
- 11:02Speaker 7: but in being in school and dealing with those problems,
- 11:05Speaker 7: was was real, you know.
- 11:06Speaker 4: Yeah. Talking to Darrell Miller again with the Keep Your
- 11:09Speaker 4: Faith Corporation about Miss Ruby's Market, what's the So if
- 11:13Speaker 4: I go over there to grab some launch, what's what's
- 11:15Speaker 4: the go to? I mean, I know it's all good,
- 11:16Speaker 4: but give me, give me one or two things.
- 11:18Speaker 7: Miss Ruby's chopped uh chopped Deli sandwich has been a
- 11:22Speaker 7: good one.
- 11:23Speaker 6: The tune of soulad sandwiches good.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
- 11:25Speaker 7: And also we got the amazing banana pudding. Okay's homemade
- 11:29Speaker 7: banana putt.
- 11:30Speaker 4: You had me, well, bananas are good for you, right, yeah, yeah,
- 11:34Speaker 4: especially with all the whipped cream and all.
- 11:35Speaker 6: The other Anther wife was all at.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Yeah, it's all good for you. It's got banana's at
- 11:39Speaker 4: the root of it, so it's all good.
- 11:41Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 11:41Speaker 4: But they chowing five any line broad to you, probably
- 11:43Speaker 4: by Bridge Valley if you're interested in improving your company's
- 11:46Speaker 4: IT workforce. No, but they offer custom tailored to IT
- 11:49Speaker 4: training to Bridge of Skills GAP, you can train for
- 11:51Speaker 4: little or no cost fifty to fifty salary match. They
- 11:54Speaker 4: can also supply skilled graduates and apprenticeships for your company.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Visit Bridge Valley dot edu slash apprenticeships today. So what's
- 12:00Speaker 4: the future look like for this foundation of the corporation
- 12:03Speaker 4: and also for Miss Ruby? What's your future look like?
- 12:07Speaker 6: I really believe it is bright.
- 12:08Speaker 7: We've been able to connect with a couple of youth
- 12:11Speaker 7: that I believe is going to take it into a
- 12:13Speaker 7: different direction in the sense of just.
- 12:15Speaker 6: Growing even more.
- 12:17Speaker 7: And for Miss Ruby's Corner market, I said, the renovations
- 12:20Speaker 7: of the top part, and then just to be able
- 12:22Speaker 7: to in the spring, I think, being able to teach
- 12:24Speaker 7: workshops and stuff like that for the community about how
- 12:27Speaker 7: to use some of the vegetables that are getting recipe
- 12:29Speaker 7: cards and things.
- 12:32Speaker 6: You know.
- 12:32Speaker 7: The east side of town is a future, future, future thing,
- 12:36Speaker 7: but I would love to see Miss Ruby's on that.
- 12:38Speaker 6: Side of town too.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Who's Miss Ruby?
- 12:41Speaker 6: That was my granny.
- 12:42Speaker 4: I had a feeling that there was a story they're
- 12:43Speaker 4: talking about Miss Ruby.
- 12:44Speaker 6: Yeah, at my grant.
- 12:45Speaker 7: I live with my granny probably up until I was
- 12:48Speaker 7: like fifteen. She passed away when I was sixteen, So
- 12:51Speaker 7: that it changed my life in the sense that it
- 12:52Speaker 7: almost puts you like you're not you know your granny lay.
- 12:55Speaker 7: She'll cuddle you and credit you for some things, you know,
- 12:58Speaker 7: But when she passed away, I had to see, you know,
- 13:00Speaker 7: which was the best thing she's done for me is
- 13:03Speaker 7: introduce me like introduced.
- 13:04Speaker 6: To the Lord. So I was.
- 13:05Speaker 7: I had that background of since it I could, I
- 13:09Speaker 7: would always have faith that I would be okay, you
- 13:11Speaker 7: know what I'm saying, even when it didn't seem like
- 13:13Speaker 7: it was gonna be okay.
- 13:14Speaker 6: So I didn't understand her passing, you know what I mean.
- 13:17Speaker 7: But she when I was getting the store over here,
- 13:19Speaker 7: I was standing in the top window just looking out
- 13:22Speaker 7: the window, and that's all I could think about.
- 13:24Speaker 6: It's her, like she'd be like, boy, you crazy, look
- 13:27Speaker 6: at you.
- 13:27Speaker 7: She used to always tell me I was hungry no
- 13:29Speaker 7: matter what I just eat. She's like your lips, white boy,
- 13:31Speaker 7: you're hungry. Let me go make you something. So that's
- 13:33Speaker 7: what made me think about it, Like, you know, people
- 13:35Speaker 7: be hungry for all kinds of things, not just foods,
- 13:38Speaker 7: you know, but this could be a place where they
- 13:40Speaker 7: can come and feel comfortable enough to get fed.
- 13:44Speaker 4: So wonderful work you're doing over there, Maning. It really

- 20:15Speaker 4: Oh for sure.
- 20:15Speaker 10: Yes, he he's the dean, so for sure, well deserved.
- 20:20Speaker 4: So I want to I want to talk about New
- 20:22Speaker 4: Corp for a moment. News came down late last week
- 20:24Speaker 4: that the Economic Development Authority is okay, more money not
- 20:29Speaker 4: just for new Core, but for the infrastructure upgrades that
- 20:33Speaker 4: are needed for possible their words, further economic expansion in
- 20:38Speaker 4: Mason County. The state Democratic Party was quick, I know
- 20:42Speaker 4: you saw it. Stephen the issue a statement on Friday
- 20:44Speaker 4: calling the corporate welfare and there's even been some Republicans
- 20:49Speaker 4: that are questioning the additional money. I know, Hoppy. Hoppy
- 20:52Speaker 4: even did a commentary on it. I think it was
- 20:55Speaker 4: on Friday. Your take on this whole.
- 20:57Speaker 10: Thing, Sure, I covered that meeting in person, and I
- 21:01Speaker 10: was there for the vote uncontested. They did have a
- 21:04Speaker 10: brief executive session, I think, to discuss the particulars of
- 21:07Speaker 10: the memorandum of understanding. That's usually not something that reporters
- 21:11Speaker 10: are privy to unless it gets leaked to us. So
- 21:13Speaker 10: we don't know the specifics. But you know, as we
- 21:17Speaker 10: do know from the broad broad strokes seventy five million
- 21:21Speaker 10: that the state's going to give New Core an additional
- 21:23Speaker 10: financial incentives. New Cores supposed to put in fifty million
- 21:27Speaker 10: of their own money in order to get that. So
- 21:31Speaker 10: what you're talking about one hundred and twenty five million
- 21:32Speaker 10: altogether takes New Course total private investment up to about
- 21:38Speaker 10: three point five billion dollars. And yes, what we do
- 21:41Speaker 10: know is they're going to use this money to purchase
- 21:44Speaker 10: additional properties around where they're building there an Apple Grove
- 21:47Speaker 10: and Mason County, both just for their expansion, also to
- 21:52Speaker 10: be able to lease or rent that property to say,
- 21:54Speaker 10: other companies that may have interest in doing business with
- 21:57Speaker 10: New Core and want to be close to them right there.
- 22:00Speaker 10: They've also talked about building a barge loading facility near
- 22:03Speaker 10: Wheeling to be able to move scrap metal out from
- 22:06Speaker 10: there down the river to this new facility. So that's
- 22:11Speaker 10: what we know, but there's a lot we don't know
- 22:13Speaker 10: specifically as to why this money is needed at this
- 22:16Speaker 10: particular moment, because it seems to me looking at new
- 22:20Speaker 10: Course financials and no hobby looked at those as well.
- 22:24Speaker 10: I mean, there's no rual reason that they needed. They
- 22:26Speaker 10: could probably front the money to do this themselves, and
- 22:29Speaker 10: it was always in their plan to do this expansion.
- 22:32Speaker 10: That's always been told. I've been told behind the scenes.
- 22:35Speaker 10: In reality, a lot of the issues or they're having
- 22:37Speaker 10: construction cost overrun, which isn't surprising given inflation, that sort
- 22:41Speaker 10: of thing, and that's really what this is about. But
- 22:43Speaker 10: we've not really been told specifically.
- 22:45Speaker 4: Texas seventy five million dollars could have upgraded electrical systems
- 22:49Speaker 4: in some schools instead corporate welfare and then, and to
- 22:53Speaker 4: be fair, that's not really what the Economic Development Authority does.
- 22:56Speaker 4: But I understand what the text are saying.
- 22:58Speaker 10: Well, and I always have to point out the people too.
- 23:00Speaker 10: Government can walk into gum at the same time, so
- 23:04Speaker 10: they literally just did a whole bunch of School Building
- 23:06Speaker 10: Authority awards here very recently. In fact, that kind of
- 23:11Speaker 10: goes to a lot of the issues I think some
- 23:13Speaker 10: people are having with this because you're seeing the governor
- 23:16Speaker 10: on his way out the door before he becomes a
- 23:19Speaker 10: senator here in a couple of weeks, passing out a
- 23:22Speaker 10: lot of money, some of it from the governor's civil
- 23:24Speaker 10: Contingency fund that's actually going to schools in his home county,
- 23:27Speaker 10: Greenbrier East and Greenbrier West. You're seeing the Water Development
- 23:30Speaker 10: Authority handout a bunch of money from their coffers. You're
- 23:35Speaker 10: seeing this, You're seeing the almost special session that happened
- 23:38Speaker 10: for that economic development project purported to be going into
- 23:41Speaker 10: Logan County. You're seeing a lot of last minute stuff
- 23:44Speaker 10: as they go out the door. And I don't know
- 23:45Speaker 10: why that it is. I could speculate I've heard that
- 23:48Speaker 10: there's a lot concerned about the incoming legislature having members
- 23:52Speaker 10: in it, they are going to be way more skeptical
- 23:54Speaker 10: about these type of economic development projects. You just alluded
- 23:56Speaker 10: to some Republicans questioning this seventy five million. I think
- 23:59Speaker 10: you're going to see more of that going forward. And
- 24:02Speaker 10: I think that's the reason why a lot of these
- 24:03Speaker 10: projects are going out the door really quick before the
- 24:05Speaker 10: end of the year.
- 24:06Speaker 4: Talking to Stephen Allen Adams of Oogna Newspapers, A Dave

- 24:26Speaker 4: that you took part in with Mark Curtis over the weekend.
- 24:29Speaker 4: A mana Bear and Joe Stevens also part of that.
- 24:31Speaker 4: You guys talked about it on the show. But what
- 24:33Speaker 4: do you see as the biggest political story of twenty
- 24:39Speaker 4: twenty four and look ahead to twenty twenty five? What
- 24:42Speaker 4: will the new year hold? Two part question?
- 24:43Speaker 10: Oh sure, well, I mean the biggest story's got to
- 24:45Speaker 10: be the retirement here in the next couple weeks of
- 24:48Speaker 10: US editor Joe Mansion. He's been in politics as long
- 24:51Speaker 10: as I've been alive. I turned forty two in July.
- 24:54Speaker 10: He's been in House of Delegates, he has been in
- 24:56Speaker 10: the state Senate, he has been Secretary of State, he's
- 24:59Speaker 10: been governed, and now he's been our US Senator. So
- 25:02Speaker 10: a very storied career. You could disagree with him. He
- 25:05Speaker 10: was a West Virginia Democrat through and through, probably the
- 25:08Speaker 10: last of the true West Virginia Democrats that were not
- 25:12Speaker 10: socially liberal for sure, but definitely pro labor for the
- 25:17Speaker 10: most part, in pro trying to bring people together. That
- 25:22Speaker 10: was a big part of Joe Mansion's legacy. So obviously
- 25:26Speaker 10: he had some party words heading out the door this
- 25:28Speaker 10: weekend on the weekend shows, saying the Senate still sucks.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Yeah, he was on, I know, he was on with
- 25:34Speaker 4: Margaret Brennan. Yeah.
- 25:37Speaker 10: Yeah, just a whole slew of pointed criticism as he
- 25:41Speaker 10: heads out the door. But yeah, I think him being
- 25:44Speaker 10: out of politics, or at least I have elected politics,
- 25:47Speaker 10: because he may still have some sort of role behind
- 25:50Speaker 10: the scenes. It's a huge loss for West Virginia now. Quickly,
- 25:53Speaker 10: in regards to what we're looking forward next year, I
- 25:56Speaker 10: think looking forward to the administration of the incoming governor
- 26:00Speaker 10: elect Patrick Morrissey and what they're going to do, particularly
- 26:04Speaker 10: with new incoming legislature. You got new members of the
- 26:06Speaker 10: Bard of Public Works coming in. You're going to have
- 26:10Speaker 10: a new Senator, and.
- 26:11Speaker 4: A lot of new nests here, a lot. I mean
- 26:15Speaker 4: you think about like you said, you got a new governor.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Every member except for one of the Board of Public
- 26:20Speaker 4: Works is new, new Secretary of State, new Attorney General, auditor,
- 26:24Speaker 4: so on and so forth. A you got a new congressman,
- 26:28Speaker 4: you know for the northern part of the state in
- 26:30Speaker 4: Riley Moore. You got a new US Senator in Jim Justice.
- 26:34Speaker 4: There's a whole lot of changeover in twenty twenty five.
- 26:37Speaker 10: Steven, Yes, and I think there's going to be some
- 26:39Speaker 10: growing pains from that too. I think you're going to
- 26:42Speaker 10: see a lot of stumbling from the incoming Morrissey administration
- 26:46Speaker 10: from the current legislature. Keep in mind, not only do
- 26:49Speaker 10: we have a lot of new lawmakers coming in, but
- 26:51Speaker 10: some of those lawmakers that have been there are going
- 26:53Speaker 10: to be tapped, probably to be part of a Morrissey administration.
- 26:56Speaker 10: I assume we haven't seen any specific announcements on that yet,
- 27:00Speaker 10: looking for those any day now, but it's a situation
- 27:03Speaker 10: where those are going to be replaced by new lawmakers,
- 27:07Speaker 10: and yeah, I think there's gonna be a little bit
- 27:10Speaker 10: stumbling as everyone's trying to learn and figure these things out,
- 27:13Speaker 10: which is fine as long as they don't do any damage.
- 27:16Speaker 10: But uh, but yeah, a lot of learning curve going
- 27:19Speaker 10: into this session in particular, So it's gonna be interesting
- 27:22Speaker 10: to see and learning curve for Morrissey as they're trying
- 27:26Speaker 10: to figure out the levers of government and figure out
- 27:28Speaker 10: what they want to cut, what they want to reform,
- 27:31Speaker 10: things of that nature. So it's gonna be real interesting
- 27:33Speaker 10: to see, particularly this first for six months.
- 27:36Speaker 4: I had Senator tar on the show last week, and
- 27:40Speaker 4: of course, you know he was He had some some
- 27:43Speaker 4: pretty uh some some some pretty direct comments about Jim
- 27:47Speaker 4: Justice as a governor and of course as a senator
- 27:50Speaker 4: to but is also as a governor, and he talked
- 27:52Speaker 4: about Senator Tara did as Center Finance chairman, his his
- 27:55Speaker 4: you know, his former role, I guess.
- 27:57Speaker 6: Uh.
- 27:57Speaker 4: He talked about how the different in working with Patrick Morrissey,
- 28:02Speaker 4: and of course we don't know what the future holds.
- 28:04Speaker 4: But what Tara said on the show last week is
- 28:07Speaker 4: is that he's going to be there on the actually
- 28:11Speaker 4: physically in the building or at least next door in
- 28:13Speaker 4: the governor's mansion. Kind of a shot at Jim Justice
- 28:17Speaker 4: not being there, but you hear that from both the
- 28:19Speaker 4: Republicans and Democrats. Stephen Sure well.
- 28:21Speaker 10: I mean, if Justice were concerned about those type of
- 28:23Speaker 10: pot shots, then he would be there more frequently during
- 28:26Speaker 10: the week. It's obviously not something he's concerned about. Even
- 28:28Speaker 10: after the Supreme Court case that said he should be
- 28:31Speaker 10: living out of the governor's mansion or at least living
- 28:32Speaker 10: in Charleston because that's what the constitution requires, he still
- 28:36Speaker 10: never did that. So but yeah, absolutely, Morrissey's going to
- 28:40Speaker 10: be there. I will tell you, having been in the
- 28:42Speaker 10: Capitol building most of the last fifteen years, it's always interesting.
- 28:47Speaker 10: Mansion was there all the time, always upstairs, negotiating with
- 28:50Speaker 10: lawmakers to get bills passed. It wasn't uncommon to see
- 28:54Speaker 10: former Governor Rory Tomlin walking back and forth between the
- 28:57Speaker 10: Governor's mansion and his office, and you could walk for
- 29:00Speaker 10: beside of him and say hi, and you know that's
- 29:03Speaker 10: a you can't really do that other places, but you
- 29:06Speaker 10: could do that here. Jim Justice has been absent. Morrisey
- 29:09Speaker 10: I think will absolutely be more hands on I think
- 29:12Speaker 10: he will be in the governor's mansion. I think he
- 29:14Speaker 10: will be in his office, and I definitely think he'll
- 29:16Speaker 10: be upstairs negotiating his agenda with lawmakers because he did
- 29:19Speaker 10: that as Attorney General, trying to push some things through
- 29:22Speaker 10: that he wanted. He was very active in that regard,
- 29:24Speaker 10: so I don't expect any of that to change.
- 29:26Speaker 4: What do you think about Jim Justice in Washington. I mean, again,
- 29:29Speaker 4: we wish him the best, because I'm a big believer
- 29:32Speaker 4: that when our elected officials succeed, we all succeed. But
- 29:36Speaker 4: it's a six year term. A lot of people, and
- 29:39Speaker 4: this was kind of brought out on Mark Curtis's show yesterday,
- 29:43Speaker 4: most people don't think he's going to serve the entire
- 29:47Speaker 4: six years.
- 29:47Speaker 5: Now.
- 29:47Speaker 4: I could be totally wrong, and quite frankly, I hope
- 29:50Speaker 4: I am. But your thought about your thoughts about Jim
- 29:55Speaker 4: Justice in Washington as a senator.
- 29:57Speaker 10: Well, here's the thing. I was told that he have
- 30:00Speaker 10: a health scare or something would happen his first term
- 30:03Speaker 10: and he would drop out, and he didn't. I was
- 30:05Speaker 10: told the same thing his second term. He didn't drop out.
- 30:10Speaker 10: I mean I could see him either dropping out at
- 30:13Speaker 10: some point within the next six years. He could either
- 30:15Speaker 10: get frustrated, he'd have health issues. We know that he
- 30:17Speaker 10: does have health issues, or I could see him doing
- 30:21Speaker 10: the whole six years. It would not surprise me either way.
- 30:25Speaker 10: What I'm going to be more interested to see is
- 30:28Speaker 10: just how active of a role he takes there.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Now.
- 30:31Speaker 10: He got appointed to several committees over the weekend, including Energy,
- 30:37Speaker 10: which is the committee that Mansion chairs right now, so
- 30:40Speaker 10: he which makes sense given Jim Justice's background as a
- 30:42Speaker 10: coal business operator and things of.
- 30:45Speaker 4: That way, coming from a state.
- 30:46Speaker 10: So yeah, But I mean, it really remains to be seen,
- 30:50Speaker 10: really how active he's going to be. I suspect Justice
- 30:53Speaker 10: is going to be one of those guys that's called
- 30:55Speaker 10: in for tight votes and that's it. I don't foresee
- 30:59Speaker 10: him have an active role. And I've been in that building.
- 31:02Speaker 10: I've shadowed Senator's mansion and Shelley Moore Capito. I know
- 31:05Speaker 10: a type of schedules they keep, I know, you know,
- 31:09Speaker 10: going back and forth between their office buildings and the
- 31:11Speaker 10: Capitol building. A lot of walking. I don't know how
- 31:14Speaker 10: Jim Justice is going to do.
- 31:15Speaker 4: It, especially when he's coaching girls basketball.
- 31:17Speaker 6: That's it.
- 31:17Speaker 10: But I do foresee possibly staying the full six year
- 31:21Speaker 10: terms the six year term, but I don't know. I mean,
- 31:26Speaker 10: anything could happen.
- 31:27Speaker 4: What what do you think about this battle for the
- 31:29Speaker 4: Senate the Senate presidency with Randy Smith chosen over Senators
- 31:34Speaker 4: Tarrn to Cubo.
- 31:35Speaker 10: Your thoughts on that, sure, Well, I mean I was
- 31:36Speaker 10: told it was very close. I think I've seen somewhere
- 31:39Speaker 10: maybe it came down to a two vote difference between
- 31:43Speaker 10: Randy Smith, a former coal miner Tucker County and Senate
- 31:48Speaker 10: majority of here, Tom Takubo here in Kanell County. Uh
- 31:52Speaker 10: so I and by the last vote count I had
- 31:55Speaker 10: seen prior to that vote that it was always going
- 31:59Speaker 10: to be really, really close. I know Senator tar was involved.
- 32:03Speaker 10: What came out in the in the first ballot went
- 32:06Speaker 10: to a second ballot, and then Randy Smith got it.
- 32:09Speaker 10: I think it's gonna be interesting. I think he's got
- 32:12Speaker 10: a good reputation as being a nice guy, and I
- 32:17Speaker 10: think that that will go a long way. But also
- 32:22Speaker 10: I think there's a leadership issue. He's not very well spoken,
- 32:29Speaker 10: and neither was Jim Justice. Neither are a lot of
- 32:31Speaker 10: people Donald Trump, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but of course
- 32:33Speaker 10: you're sitting up there at the top of you know,
- 32:36Speaker 10: the days with a gavel trying to run business. That
- 32:39Speaker 10: could be that'd certainly be an issue, and I think
- 32:42Speaker 10: there is a concern that there's gonna be more of
- 32:43Speaker 10: a focus upfront on social conservative issues. On one hand,
- 32:47Speaker 10: you can make the argument that well, that's what West
- 32:50Speaker 10: Virginian's maybe want, and of course you know it's a majority,
- 32:53Speaker 10: super majority, super duper majority. Issu've trademarked legislature. At the
- 32:59Speaker 10: same time, some of these things that they're going to
- 33:01Speaker 10: push I always make this point. People progresses always make
- 33:04Speaker 10: the other point that you know, these are bad policies.
- 33:05Speaker 10: Maybe they are, maybe or not. I come out from
- 33:07Speaker 10: a point of we are already in a super conservative
- 33:10Speaker 10: state right now based on the politics. Are the things
- 33:14Speaker 10: that you're wanting to stop as part of, you know,
- 33:17Speaker 10: a social conservative agenda. Things really happening here outside maybe
- 33:20Speaker 10: the city corn Charleston, which is more liberal than the
- 33:23Speaker 10: rest of the county. I don't know. I'm under depression
- 33:26Speaker 10: to a lot of these things that people get concerned about,
- 33:29Speaker 10: particularly transgender issues, are not really a statewide issue. But
- 33:33Speaker 10: it sounds like they're going to take a real big
- 33:35Speaker 10: focus up front to get the social conservative stuff out
- 33:38Speaker 10: of the way. Then they can focus on other things.
- 33:40Speaker 4: I mean, knock out some texts before we let you go.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Tex says, isn't the governor's hand out to Greenbrock County
- 33:44Speaker 4: School for sports?
- 33:46Speaker 10: Yeah, it's specifically for sports, both of them for sports.
- 33:50Speaker 10: I believe they're basketball court upgrades. I think lighting upgrades
- 33:54Speaker 10: for one of the schools for sure, And I'm not
- 33:57Speaker 10: saying that those aren't legitimate needs. The issue I think
- 33:59Speaker 10: one of them was water damage that they're fixing, but
- 34:02Speaker 10: does also raise the question why haven't a Why was
- 34:05Speaker 10: this not something the percent of the school building authority
- 34:08Speaker 10: that could be vetted and properly gone through and take
- 34:11Speaker 10: justice out of the equation for a conflict of interest?
- 34:14Speaker 6: But there you go, Texas.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Dave Biden took another despicably spiteful step in kissing the
- 34:20Speaker 4: rings of the criminal codly leftist my community the sentences
- 34:23Speaker 4: a thirty seven federal death row inmate several child killers,
- 34:26Speaker 4: preventing the Trump administration from carrying out executions that didn't
- 34:30Speaker 4: happen under Biden's twenty twenty one more tory and this
- 34:32Speaker 4: includes two names that West Virginians will recognize Brandon Basham
- 34:36Speaker 4: and Chadwick Fulkes back in November two thousand and two,
- 34:38Speaker 4: they kidnapped, raped, and killed nineteen year old Bar Street
- 34:41Speaker 4: Versity student Samantha Burns.
- 34:43Speaker 10: Yeah, just right about that this morning. I think it's interesting.
- 34:47Speaker 10: I'm not sure what type of message Biden's trying to
- 34:50Speaker 10: send with that. On the other hand, let's be honest,
- 34:52Speaker 10: a lot of the death row inmates stay on death
- 34:54Speaker 10: row for a very long time. I don't know what
- 34:56Speaker 10: the schedules are for when some of these people were
- 34:59Speaker 10: being put to death. It's still been years from now anyway.
- 35:02Speaker 10: So and on top of that, with some of the
- 35:04Speaker 10: more questionable other pardons and commutations at biden stunt obviously
- 35:11Speaker 10: for a son, but also for some of these people
- 35:13Speaker 10: to guilty of political corruption. Maybe he's just trying to
- 35:17Speaker 10: distract from that. So that's a possibility.
- 35:19Speaker 4: All right, Steven, what are you working on the last
- 35:21Speaker 4: week or so? It's kind of a little bit of
- 35:23Speaker 4: a downtime, But but what do you guys go on?
- 35:25Speaker 10: The worst time for a state government reporter trying to
- 35:28Speaker 10: figure out what to right. I'm probably gonna do a
- 35:29Speaker 10: story today on Governor, Justice's committee appointments, and we'll see
- 35:33Speaker 10: what else comes down the pike. But I mean state
- 35:35Speaker 10: employees have the day off tomorrow and also on New
- 35:38Speaker 10: Year's Eve, so when that happens, I usually don't have
- 35:41Speaker 10: anybody to talk to. All these people take the day
- 35:43Speaker 10: is a full week off sometimes, so it makes it
- 35:45Speaker 10: really hard for me. So I'll trust me. I will
- 35:47Speaker 10: scrounge for stories.
- 35:49Speaker 4: But maybe another Christmas tree will fall over the Capitol.

- 40:38Speaker 4: places like Boone and Logan and other areas that need jobs,
- 40:43Speaker 4: says a Texter. That's one of the I guess one
- 40:47Speaker 4: of the concerns that people have about some of the people,
- 40:52Speaker 4: not all, but some of the people that were elected
- 40:54Speaker 4: to the legislature and with new Senate President Randy Smith,
- 40:58Speaker 4: is that you are going to see more are in
- 41:00Speaker 4: more emphasis on social issues. And quite frankly, a lot
- 41:05Speaker 4: of these social issues that are discussed are not happening
- 41:07Speaker 4: in West Virginia. It's been proven that they're not. People
- 41:11Speaker 4: believe what they see on the book of face U.
- 41:13Speaker 4: There are no letterboxes in schools for kids who identify
- 41:18Speaker 4: as cats. That's been that's like officially never happened. But
- 41:23Speaker 4: there's there's some some some concern that this is going
- 41:28Speaker 4: to be the primary focus. And again, I'm a you know,
- 41:33Speaker 4: I'm I'm the even though I'm I'm a registered independent
- 41:36Speaker 4: now I am the card of carrying what they call
- 41:37Speaker 4: Chamber of Commerce, what they would call Chamber of Commerce Republicans,
- 41:41Speaker 4: which is kind of you know, just concentrate on the economy,
- 41:46Speaker 4: concentrated on jobs, and I couldn't care less about social issues.
- 41:49Speaker 4: That's just me. Tech says. The best part about winning
- 41:53Speaker 4: ten thousand dollars getting your full government name set on
- 41:55Speaker 4: the air for anyone to hear. Well, that's part of
- 41:58Speaker 4: the deal. That's part of the deal, Steve one. And
- 42:00Speaker 4: he knows he's got to pay taxes, and you know,
- 42:02Speaker 4: Uncle Sam's gonna get his no doubt about it. So
- 42:05Speaker 4: there was talk over the last couple of days about
- 42:08Speaker 4: a possible federal government shutdown, and of course ended up
- 42:11Speaker 4: not happening. We have a story posted about it at
- 42:14Speaker 4: wv metronews dot com. US Senator shelleymore Capito was a
- 42:18Speaker 4: yes vote to not shut down the government. She voted
- 42:22Speaker 4: for the short term government funding bill on Friday. Of course,
- 42:25Speaker 4: President elect Donald Trump and possibly the creepiest man alive,
- 42:28Speaker 4: Elon Musk, criticized the bill. Afterwards, Senator Capito had harsh
- 42:33Speaker 4: words for Senate leadership.
- 42:35Speaker 10: Now.
- 42:35Speaker 4: The complete statement from her press release is contained to
- 42:38Speaker 4: the story posted on the website. Basically, it says she
- 42:41Speaker 4: was glad that the federal federal government shut down was averted,
- 42:45Speaker 4: but we could have we should have never gotten there
- 42:49Speaker 4: to begin with. Again, I'm very much paraphrasing the comments
- 42:52Speaker 4: from Senator Shelleymore Capitol, and she's blaming Chuck Schumer. She
- 42:57Speaker 4: went on to say that she'll be glad when the
- 43:00Speaker 4: new Congress under President elect Trump takes over because, and
- 43:02Speaker 4: this is a direct quote, we'll be able to work
- 43:05Speaker 4: together to prevent these kinds of scenarios in quotes. We'll
- 43:11Speaker 4: see about that. We'll see about that. We do have
- 43:13Speaker 4: a new member of the legislature. Brad has a story
- 43:15Speaker 4: posted about it at the website, the governor announcing he
- 43:17Speaker 4: has appointed Darren Thorn to the fifteenth Senatorial District, which
- 43:21Speaker 4: is made up of Hampshire and Morgan Counties and a
- 43:23Speaker 4: sliver of Berkeley County. Now he was a member of
- 43:27Speaker 4: the House at one point. Thorn is taken the spot
- 43:29Speaker 4: held by Charlie Trump, who was elected to the State
- 43:31Speaker 4: Supreme Court. He of course, had to resign from the Senate. Again,
- 43:35Speaker 4: Brad with the story he had to resign because he
- 43:38Speaker 4: was elected to the state Supreme Court. He of course
- 43:40Speaker 4: had to resign from that position. Brad with the story
- 43:43Speaker 4: posted about it this morning wv Metronews dot com. Tex

- 47:06Speaker 4: Texas Dave. Why would Biden let so many Death Row
- 47:09Speaker 4: criminals out of prison? One reason? Nothing but evil, Dave,
- 47:14Speaker 4: says a texture, Texas Dave. The Blowhart's constantly saying Republicans
- 47:17Speaker 4: will do this, Republicans will do that. Regurgitate exactly the
- 47:20Speaker 4: bs like Joy Reid, Rachel maddal Sonny Houston, Joy Behar,
- 47:25Speaker 4: et cetera. Tell them without proof, they got to keep
- 47:28Speaker 4: the hate going just to stroke their bruised egos once
- 47:30Speaker 4: again getting the election wrong. Grow up, people and think
- 47:33Speaker 4: for yourselves. Why do you think so many people have
- 47:36Speaker 4: left that toxic cult formerly known as the Democratic Party?
- 47:39Speaker 4: Myself included, says a texture. So I want to just
- 47:42Speaker 4: kind of throw something out here this morning. He has
- 47:44Speaker 4: nothing to do with politics, something I've been reading a
- 47:47Speaker 4: lot about lately. And let me set this up correctly.
- 47:50Speaker 4: I'm on a lot of restaurant and food social media pages.
- 47:53Speaker 4: Imagine that, uh, any way, every year without fail. And
- 47:58Speaker 4: let's be honest, it's probably Russian bots because it's designed
- 48:02Speaker 4: just to keep people arguing on various things. There will
- 48:06Speaker 4: be a post asking what restaurants are open on Christmas
- 48:11Speaker 4: Eve or Christmas Day. Doesn't have to be restaurants, could
- 48:15Speaker 4: be any stores or any other business. Invariably, when a
- 48:18Speaker 4: post comes up, someone again possibly a Russian bot, will
- 48:22Speaker 4: weigh in with the shame on anyone being open on
- 48:25Speaker 4: Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Let's hold up asking for
- 48:30Speaker 4: the manager here, Karen. First of all, a lot of
- 48:35Speaker 4: workers in those businesses like being open on those days
- 48:41Speaker 4: because it's more money, period. And let's all also keep
- 48:48Speaker 4: in mind that not everyone gets Christmas Eve or Christmas
- 48:52Speaker 4: Day off. Now, I'm lucky enough in my current role
- 48:55Speaker 4: here to do my show tomorrow, but then I'll take
- 48:59Speaker 4: off on Christmas, but I'll be back in here on Thursday.
- 49:02Speaker 4: Wasn't always that way for me. When I was doing
- 49:06Speaker 4: radio at the Logan Radio station, for example, which I
- 49:10Speaker 4: did there for twenty and a half years, I worked
- 49:12Speaker 4: pretty much every Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, same with Thanksgiving,
- 49:17Speaker 4: New Year's et cetera, et cetera. The radio continues, and
- 49:21Speaker 4: to be honest with you, we had a heck of
- 49:23Speaker 4: a lot of people listening on Christmas Day. A lot
- 49:28Speaker 4: of people do work on Christmas Day. And again I
- 49:31Speaker 4: have a special place in the media of course put
- 49:33Speaker 4: emergency service workers, truck drivers, et cetera, etc. They'll be
- 49:38Speaker 4: working Christmas, and I know many of them would certainly
- 49:42Speaker 4: appreciate if they have time to eat. People being open
- 49:46Speaker 4: on Christmas. The convenience store business. I at one time
- 49:51Speaker 4: was employed by a certain convenience store chain, and I
- 49:54Speaker 4: can tell you that Christmas was one of the busiest
- 49:57Speaker 4: sale days of the year. Still need gas and grocery items,
- 50:02Speaker 4: they need alcohol to deal with certain family members. You
- 50:06Speaker 4: get the point. If there was no business, then the
- 50:11Speaker 4: businesses would not be open, and further more, just something
- 50:17Speaker 4: to think about. You know, not everyone has family to
- 50:21Speaker 4: spend Christmas with, or maybe they choose not to be
- 50:24Speaker 4: around family members at Christmas. It happens, and I know
- 50:29Speaker 4: that some of those people love having a restaurant option
- 50:33Speaker 4: because they have no one to spend Christmas with. Bottom
- 50:35Speaker 4: line is, you don't know other people's stories, and everyone's
- 50:38Speaker 4: Christmas is not the same. Now, my Christmas has spent
- 50:41Speaker 4: every year just me and my wife and I cats.
- 50:45Speaker 4: I'm outside of my wife. I'm not particularly a family
- 50:47Speaker 4: type person much just not my thing. So Christmas really
- 50:52Speaker 4: just another day for us. But that's not everyone's story.
- 50:57Speaker 4: Everybody's story is different. Some people have been family gatherings.
- 51:01Speaker 4: Yay for you. That sounds like pure hell to me,
- 51:03Speaker 4: but you do you just throwing it out there. Don't
- 51:06Speaker 4: hate on businesses who choose to stay open on Christmas.
- 51:10Speaker 4: That's all. Text says. You need to inform CenTra Capito
- 51:14Speaker 4: that any tax and revenue bills must pass the House
- 51:16Speaker 4: first before the Senate can consider it. Texas, Biden is
- 51:20Speaker 4: not letting death Row inmates out. He's commuting the sentence
- 51:23Speaker 4: to life, says the text. A very very good point
- 51:26Speaker 4: by a texture. All right, I appreciate Darrell Miller from
- 51:32Speaker 4: the Keith your Faith Organization for being on the show
- 51:35Speaker 4: this morning. Great job, good check after social media, and

- 51:47Speaker 4: very very very true. I did that in some radio
- 51:50Speaker 4: jobs to give people time off to spend with their family.
- 51:52Speaker 4: So yeah, yeah, a lot of people and they like
