- 0:24Speaker 1: to get on.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Matt. You are en route from Tulsa to home? Is
- 0:28Speaker 2: that correct?
- 0:31Speaker 3: That is correct. We made a trip over to Tulsa
- 0:33Speaker 3: this morning.
- 0:34Speaker 4: The boys did some running with a running coach, and
- 0:39Speaker 4: so you.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Get to look at me in a car. I like,
- 0:42Speaker 3: I like this.
- 0:42Speaker 4: I like to be in the car if it's kind
- 0:44Speaker 4: of my uh my stick is to do the podcast
- 0:48Speaker 4: from the car, super professional.
- 0:51Speaker 3: It's good, this is my car. But I got a chauffeur.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Whoops. Hello.
- 1:04Speaker 1: He's like, I don't want to be any part of this.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I don't want to be any part of this. Lanceoln

- 1:09Speaker 5: Always great, Jim, great to see you.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Kyle gibbson healthiest option?
- 1:14Speaker 3: Is it Star Wars?
- 1:15Speaker 6: Then definitely not the healthiest options for sure.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I'm doing good.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Jim, good to see you.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Uh so where are we? Where are we going to eat? Now? Man?
- 1:29Speaker 2: What's going on.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Boys are picking up some Starbucks. Okay, all right, I
- 1:38Speaker 3: remember probably some egg bites.
- 1:40Speaker 4: I don't know what they're getting, but yeah, they needed
- 1:42Speaker 4: a post run snack.
- 1:45Speaker 2: All right, fair enough, fair enough.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Uh So we've talked about pretty much every.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, he is the bacon egg bites. I
- 1:56Speaker 3: can mute myself. I mean, that might be the best
- 1:58Speaker 3: thing to hear.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I want to hear the.
- 2:05Speaker 3: VENTI yes, can you sweeten it with honey?
- 2:11Speaker 2: Please?
- 2:12Speaker 5: Just a touch?
- 2:15Speaker 7: Do you want syney?
- 2:19Speaker 3: Just the natural honey packets? How many? Maybe like two weeks?
- 2:26Speaker 3: Riveting riveting content?
- 2:27Speaker 1: Listen, we have future superstars placing an order.
- 2:32Speaker 2: What other podcast is one?
- 2:36Speaker 1: Okay, all right, why don't you, Matt, why don't you
- 2:39Speaker 1: a mute for a second.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I'll wave you back in although coming you.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Can have both coming a couple of honey packets.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Tell us we've talked about pretty much every single player
- 2:55Speaker 1: on the Cardinal roster, right, and we've done it as
- 2:58Speaker 1: another podcast, as Cardinal Territory. I want to talk about
- 3:04Speaker 1: a guy that I don't think we've touched on enough,
- 3:06Speaker 1: and that would be Victor Scott the second. This is
- 3:09Speaker 1: a young guy who in one season in the minors
- 3:11Speaker 1: still ninety four bases didn't hit a lot last year,
- 3:14Speaker 1: but we saw as the season progress his defense and
- 3:18Speaker 1: his confidence in terms of getting good jumps on the
- 3:21Speaker 1: ball really take off and he became a defensive weapon.
- 3:25Speaker 1: So I'm gonna start with Lance Lint. You know, Victor
- 3:29Speaker 1: Scott the second you know what he brings to the table.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Just your thoughts on what he might be in terms
- 3:36Speaker 1: of the future and the Cardinals organization.
- 3:40Speaker 5: I mean, you're looking at just the glove itself if
- 3:42Speaker 5: you want to start there, right, How how well he
- 3:45Speaker 5: can play center field. He's gold Glove caliber. So the
- 3:49Speaker 5: main thing is gonna be like, how can we get
- 3:51Speaker 5: him on base, and how can we get him to
- 3:53Speaker 5: you know, be able to use the you know, use
- 3:55Speaker 5: the feed on the base. So the big thing I
- 3:58Speaker 5: think is, you know, you get him to control control
- 4:00Speaker 5: the strike zone, you know, put the ball on the ground,
- 4:03Speaker 5: you know, try to you know, hit extra base hits
- 4:05Speaker 5: and stuff like that, and and try to stay stay
- 4:08Speaker 5: away from the ball in the air. So he's got
- 4:10Speaker 5: all the tools for all that, and he just needs
- 4:12Speaker 5: to play, you know, I liken it to the worst case,
- 4:15Speaker 5: He's Billy Hamilton. Worst case scenario, that's Billy Hamilton. Billy
- 4:19Speaker 5: Hamilton was a had a good career, but I think
- 4:22Speaker 5: that there's more ceiling than that. It's just he's got
- 4:26Speaker 5: to play and he's got to get used to you
- 4:28Speaker 5: know what it takes day in and day out to
- 4:30Speaker 5: be prepared. You know, he's got to put the ball
- 4:33Speaker 5: in play, not strike out, control the strike zone and
- 4:35Speaker 5: see if he can get his walks and things of
- 4:37Speaker 5: like that. And then next thing, you know, you know,
- 4:40Speaker 5: there's a lot of things that he can do well
- 4:42Speaker 5: and cause havoc on the field, and you know there's
- 4:47Speaker 5: this guy's the limit for that kid because he wants
- 4:49Speaker 5: to be great. So just giving him the opportunity to
- 4:51Speaker 5: give him the right people around him to make that happen.
- 4:54Speaker 1: And Cal, I know you follow the Cardinals closely, did
- 4:59Speaker 1: you guys the improvement that I think a lot of
- 5:02Speaker 1: people saw Kyle did you did you see Victor Scott
- 5:06Speaker 1: the second take it to the next level?
- 5:09Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I think his defense is something that
- 5:13Speaker 6: is game changing. You know, when when you can steal
- 5:16Speaker 6: extra base hits at the clip that he does, it's
- 5:19Speaker 6: a big deal. Not only for a pitching staff or
- 5:22Speaker 6: just as as the inning progresses. Right, Yeah, I mean
- 5:26Speaker 6: I think offensively. I don't know all of all of
- 5:30Speaker 6: where he ended up offensively, but I mean I think
- 5:32Speaker 6: there's always room to grow for guys, especially as they're
- 5:36Speaker 6: young in their career. And I mean I think as
- 5:39Speaker 6: you dig into certain things, I'm trying to look at
- 5:42Speaker 6: it right now. You know, as you dig into certain things,
- 5:44Speaker 6: like Lance said, like strikeouts and walks, you know, if
- 5:48Speaker 6: you can flip some of those, I think that's a
- 5:50Speaker 6: big deal, because a walk becomes a double, a single
- 5:53Speaker 6: becomes a double in a lot of Instanceance he swiped
- 5:56Speaker 6: thirty four bags, which is a lot. He walked forty
- 5:59Speaker 6: two times on hundred and So, you know, I think
- 6:02Speaker 6: Vic is a guy that I've mentioned it earlier a
- 6:06Speaker 6: few months ago, as he was really asking me in
- 6:09Speaker 6: twenty twenty four, you know, how does Cedric Mullens become
- 6:13Speaker 6: a really good lead off there?
- 6:14Speaker 2: And what makes him really good?
- 6:16Speaker 6: That type of question is very indicative of a player
- 6:19Speaker 6: that wants to get better, wants to be the best
- 6:21Speaker 6: version of himself, and is looking at the right players
- 6:24Speaker 6: to model.
- 6:24Speaker 3: His game after.
- 6:25Speaker 6: So you know, I think Vic has a lot of
- 6:29Speaker 6: ceiling ahead of him as he keeps working and likely
- 6:32Speaker 6: I said, figure out the.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Strikes, Matt.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I think it's important for a player to realize that's
- 6:39Speaker 1: my dog stella. I think it's important for a player
- 6:46Speaker 1: to recognize what his strengths, what his weaknesses are. Right,
- 6:49Speaker 1: And with a guy like Victor Scott, the second you
- 6:53Speaker 1: got to eliminate the strikeouts and as Lance put so, well,
- 6:58Speaker 1: you don't want the ball in the He recognizes that,
- 7:02Speaker 1: and I think we saw him make some of those adjustments.
- 7:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I think Look, I think obviously we
- 7:09Speaker 4: know he plays really good defense. I think he I
- 7:13Speaker 4: think as he gets into the twenty five, twenty six,
- 7:17Speaker 4: twenty seven age season, I think it's just a matter
- 7:21Speaker 4: of how well his offensive game can develop, And it
- 7:26Speaker 4: depends on whether he'll be an everyday player or more
- 7:29Speaker 4: of a platoon defensive replacement type of player. I mean,
- 7:33Speaker 4: I think when you have that kind of speed, uh,
- 7:36Speaker 4: he's gonna have a role on a team for a
- 7:38Speaker 4: long time. But I think the next couple of years
- 7:43Speaker 4: will tell us whether or not whether he can be
- 7:46Speaker 4: counted on to, you know, be an everyday center fielder
- 7:48Speaker 4: in the major leagues. So I think it'll be interesting
- 7:53Speaker 4: to see how he can develop offensively and what the
- 7:56Speaker 4: next even this year, I think, uh, how he learns,
- 8:02Speaker 4: how he grows as a hitter, Like you guys talked
- 8:06Speaker 4: about getting on base a little bit more, striking out
- 8:08Speaker 4: a little bit less. Does he have a plan on
- 8:11Speaker 4: how to make adjustments, What kind of adjustments is he
- 8:14Speaker 4: getting from from the organization, and then just the maturation
- 8:19Speaker 4: of of accumulating big lea get bats will will that
- 8:23Speaker 4: be helpful and making him more of a you know,
- 8:27Speaker 4: an everyday solid major league offensive player, because like you said,
- 8:33Speaker 4: the defense and the base running is plus and so.
- 8:38Speaker 3: It's a it has a role.
- 8:40Speaker 4: It just I just have to see how well how
- 8:43Speaker 4: well is offensive game continues to develop.
- 8:47Speaker 1: And we've seen signs that it's starting to get there.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I wish he'd work on bunting too. That's such a
- 8:52Speaker 1: valuable tool to have in the old toolbox. I wanted
- 8:56Speaker 1: to also ask you guys about the the Cardinal bullpen.
- 9:00Speaker 1: You know, once Halsey was traded away, the young guys
- 9:03Speaker 1: stepped up and the bullpen was really really good, and
- 9:06Speaker 1: some guys really took the opportunity and ran with it.
- 9:10Speaker 1: So I mean you got Swonson out there. Jojo is
- 9:14Speaker 1: a veteran who also pitched very very well.
- 9:17Speaker 2: You have O'Brien.
- 9:18Speaker 1: So Lance, I'm gonna ask you, do you think that
- 9:22Speaker 1: one of those guys will be closing games for the
- 9:24Speaker 1: Cardinals in the upcoming season. Will it be someone else
- 9:27Speaker 1: or will it be possibly shared responsibilities and mix and match.
- 9:32Speaker 2: How do you see it?
- 9:34Speaker 5: I would to be honest with you, if you're looking
- 9:37Speaker 5: at the market and the I say in the back
- 9:40Speaker 5: end market, you probably want to go get a someone
- 9:44Speaker 5: that you can say kind of slot in there and
- 9:45Speaker 5: be like, hey, he's our guy. That's why I'm all for,
- 9:49Speaker 5: say Helsley coming back. You know, if he's if he's
- 9:52Speaker 5: good for one year or whatever, it may be, just
- 9:55Speaker 5: because it gives you a proven back in. And then
- 9:58Speaker 5: if you have those guys in your seven eight roles
- 10:00Speaker 5: where you can mix and match in throughout the year
- 10:02Speaker 5: where you are and then also where they can jump
- 10:05Speaker 5: in and closer spots when their area the lineup comes
- 10:09Speaker 5: up to best suit them. But if you don't get
- 10:12Speaker 5: a Hellsley type of guy, you have multiple guys that
- 10:14Speaker 5: you can throw in in there quote unquote blocks of
- 10:18Speaker 5: the uh, the lineup that you're facing that day. So
- 10:22Speaker 5: I don't know if there's gonna have to be a
- 10:23Speaker 5: set closer role. I think there's gonna be a hey, seven, eight, nine,
- 10:28Speaker 5: here's our blocks of when you can go in and
- 10:30Speaker 5: here's you know, are kind of our plan. There's no
- 10:32Speaker 5: closer role. It's best suited for for your skill set
- 10:36Speaker 5: to get the you know quality three outs would be
- 10:38Speaker 5: my guess unless they get a bona fide back end
- 10:42Speaker 5: saves guy like Helsley.
- 10:44Speaker 1: What would you uh, what would you like to see
- 10:46Speaker 1: Kyle Gibson? And how do you think it will shake out?
- 10:51Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean that's a tough one. You know, Jojo
- 10:55Speaker 6: and and Riley both had great years. You know, I
- 10:59Speaker 6: just kind of pulling it up here because I don't
- 11:01Speaker 6: know all the ins and outs. But interesting thing about
- 11:03Speaker 6: Riley is just a little bit of reverse splits on
- 11:05Speaker 6: batting average against lefties. He's got the high ground ball
- 11:07Speaker 6: and he gets a strikeout for nine. But I think
- 11:11Speaker 6: we all can probably agree that the ninth inning is
- 11:14Speaker 6: a different animal. There's just a lot more pressure on
- 11:18Speaker 6: the line. You know, you're gonna be in there in
- 11:20Speaker 6: a close game where one swing can change the game.
- 11:24Speaker 6: So I mean, I think obviously Jojo probably has that
- 11:28Speaker 6: that experience and that pedigree at the back end to
- 11:30Speaker 6: probably be the guy that starts. Both of those guys
- 11:32Speaker 6: have incredible stuff. By the way, I don't think this
- 11:34Speaker 6: is a stuff question. This is like, you know, who
- 11:38Speaker 6: is maybe best suited right now if they don't go
- 11:41Speaker 6: get a guy. Maybe Jojo just because of the time
- 11:47Speaker 6: that he's been down there. But I think Riley is
- 11:49Speaker 6: definitely a guy that is, you know, surprising people last
- 11:53Speaker 6: year and looks like he has that back end ability.
- 11:56Speaker 2: A lot of guys with stuff out there.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I like Swanson based on the fact that ever since
- 12:01Speaker 1: the Cardinals got him, he was a leverage guy. He
- 12:03Speaker 1: was closing out games and he was nasty last year.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Matt Holliday, who do you think is gonna end up
- 12:09Speaker 1: being the Cardinal closer?
- 12:10Speaker 4: I mean, I would guess if I had to say
- 12:12Speaker 4: right now, it'll probably be a combination of who they have.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Probably situationally, I don't I don't see them going out
- 12:21Speaker 4: and signing.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Somebody that you would bring in and say here's our guy. Uh.
- 12:31Speaker 3: I don't know that how many are out there.
- 12:32Speaker 4: I haven't looked at the free agent market for closers,
- 12:34Speaker 4: but I doubt they're bringing Helsley back. Obviously Diez is
- 12:39Speaker 4: probably not coming in, so I would guess that it's
- 12:43Speaker 4: probably by committee until somebody on the current staff sort
- 12:47Speaker 4: of takes over that role and becomes maybe stands out
- 12:52Speaker 4: in spring training and then maybe in the you know,
- 12:55Speaker 4: you give a guy a go the first week or
- 12:57Speaker 4: two of the season. If he does well, he keeps it.
- 13:01Speaker 4: If it's a little up and down, uh, maybe play
- 13:04Speaker 4: matchups and if you have you know, like you have
- 13:07Speaker 4: u Jojo, you have a left piso. Maybe if they
- 13:10Speaker 4: have left hand hitters coming up in the ninth that's ten.
- 13:13Speaker 4: And then you mentioned some other right handed guys, So
- 13:16Speaker 4: I would I would suspect that it's probably somebody on
- 13:19Speaker 4: the staff this year and probably a group effort.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Yeah, could be mixing match now. The name Ryan Helsley
- 13:26Speaker 1: came up a few times. There's news as to how
- 13:29Speaker 1: he may handle his future. We will get to that
- 13:31Speaker 1: when we come back with more of Cardinal Territory. Hey, miss,

- 15:18Speaker 6: Do I really read that fast? It sounded like they
- 15:21Speaker 6: sped my voice up like the guy at the end.
- 15:26Speaker 6: All right, I guess I'm gonna work on that because
- 15:28Speaker 6: I sounded like the guy that was reading the Gambler's
- 15:30Speaker 6: anonymous number.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Well, there's a Gambler's, not us. There is Stella. Please.
- 15:39Speaker 1: There is a ton of baseball knowledge on the panel.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I don't have any of it, but I am a broadcaster,
- 15:46Speaker 1: so mine was delivered perfectly with no need to edit.
- 15:49Speaker 1: We mentioned Ryan Helsley and the news came out. I
- 15:52Speaker 1: don't take it that seriously. I'm going to go back
- 15:55Speaker 1: in the same order, though, lance that maybe Ryan Helsley
- 16:00Speaker 1: could consider becoming a starter he was earlier in his career,
- 16:04Speaker 1: certainly has a number of pitches that would play as
- 16:08Speaker 1: a starter. But when I read that, I thought to myself, Gee,
- 16:11Speaker 1: this is a guy who set the Cardinal franchise record
- 16:14Speaker 1: for saves, who was good as a closer last year.
- 16:18Speaker 1: He's going to be in demand. He's gonna get the bag.
- 16:20Speaker 1: As Kyle Gibson likes to say, as as a closer.
- 16:25Speaker 1: The thing messed up in New York when the when
- 16:29Speaker 1: the Mets said, oh no, you're gonna be a setup guy.
- 16:32Speaker 1: It didn't work out that way. But this guy is
- 16:34Speaker 1: still one of the elite closers in the league. Isn't
- 16:38Speaker 1: that his lane?
- 16:40Speaker 2: Yeah? I think so.
- 16:41Speaker 5: I think this might be more of a play to
- 16:45Speaker 5: use the market to maybe get some more dollars as
- 16:48Speaker 5: a closer. You know, this is this time of year,
- 16:53Speaker 5: or you know in free agency, there's going to be
- 16:55Speaker 5: things that pop up that are making you look more valuable.
- 17:00Speaker 5: And it depends on who's talking what here and this
- 17:02Speaker 5: and that. So hell, last year there was rumor that
- 17:06Speaker 5: I was going to be that I could go back
- 17:07Speaker 5: to closing, and that was never going to happen. So
- 17:12Speaker 5: there's just that's just part of free agency at this time. Now,
- 17:15Speaker 5: could he do it? I think there's a possibility that
- 17:18Speaker 5: he's capable of. I see him as a back end
- 17:22Speaker 5: guy as a closer. I think the way that he
- 17:25Speaker 5: kind of performs in his innings and stuff like that,
- 17:27Speaker 5: it doesn't it doesn't match to be able to throw
- 17:31Speaker 5: six innings as a starter. But that's you know, especially
- 17:35Speaker 5: with what he's able to do in the closer role
- 17:38Speaker 5: and what he did for the Cardinals in twenty four
- 17:39Speaker 5: to fourth. So I think this could be just a
- 17:42Speaker 5: little gamesmanship to get the market moving and maybe a
- 17:46Speaker 5: little bit more dollars to be a closer.
- 17:48Speaker 1: All right, that was my bad spreading the false mum
- 17:50Speaker 1: or about you coming back as a closer. I apologize,
- 17:53Speaker 1: but I'm probably gonna be right. There was a conversation.
- 17:56Speaker 1: There was a conversation, so it is based in reality. Yeah,
- 18:02Speaker 1: it's like, hey, do you think you could close? The
- 18:04Speaker 1: answer was yes, and then everyone's like, hey, he might
- 18:06Speaker 1: he might be a closer this year.
- 18:08Speaker 5: So that was it. But I can only get you
- 18:10Speaker 5: three outs, Holly. Holly knows that, so is Kyle. If
- 18:13Speaker 5: you tell me I need to get you three outs.
- 18:15Speaker 5: I can get you three outs right now.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Holiday is that true? Can he get three outs right now?
- 18:20Speaker 1: I mean right now?
- 18:22Speaker 4: I mean it depends on who they're against exactly. You
- 18:26Speaker 4: can't get the three He could get the three of
- 18:28Speaker 4: us out right now.
- 18:30Speaker 6: I can get you three outs?
- 18:33Speaker 1: Am I wrong to think Kyle Gibson? Though, if you've
- 18:36Speaker 1: established yourself at the very top of the closer's mountain,
- 18:42Speaker 1: that you're suddenly going to try to reinvent yourself as
- 18:45Speaker 1: a starter. Doesn't that seem like that would be counterproductive?
- 18:50Speaker 2: Well?
- 18:50Speaker 6: I mean, you know, I do think it's important to
- 18:52Speaker 6: remember he's done it before, right, so it's not like
- 18:56Speaker 6: it's totally foreign.
- 18:58Speaker 2: But I don't know.
- 18:59Speaker 6: I mean, this sounds a lot litle bit more like
- 19:00Speaker 6: the Jeff Hoffman situation. I think it was last year
- 19:04Speaker 6: where he said he was going to possibly do both
- 19:06Speaker 6: and then he didn't.
- 19:08Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 19:10Speaker 6: I kind of think that Hellsley is the bullpen guy,
- 19:15Speaker 6: and I think he's probably gonna stay as that. I mean,
- 19:18Speaker 6: Jordan Hicks did it going to San France. I think
- 19:21Speaker 6: it worked for a little bit, and then I think
- 19:23Speaker 6: he kind of hit a wall.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Both years didn't work all right, I'm gonna change up
- 19:29Speaker 1: the order here, uh with a with a final Well,
- 19:32Speaker 1: it didn't work, it didn't work.
- 19:35Speaker 2: It didn't work. I like Kicks. His stuff was phenomenal.
- 19:38Speaker 1: I thought if they could just harness that for a
- 19:40Speaker 1: closer setup guy, that would have been the best move.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I don't think it worked out. But he's a talented
- 19:45Speaker 1: young man, no question.
- 19:47Speaker 7: If you are still carrying a clunky leather brick that
- 19:51Speaker 7: can be mistaken for an old school wallet, may I
- 19:54Speaker 7: introduce you to what Eric Kratz is getting himself for
- 19:58Speaker 7: the holidays.
- 19:59Speaker 9: I mean, this is the greatest wallet that I've ever
- 20:02Speaker 9: seen in my life. Your credit card's fitting here, it's adjustable,
- 20:06Speaker 9: lifetime guarantee. What like this is a must have for
- 20:11Speaker 9: the holidays.
- 20:12Speaker 7: Absolute must have Ridge Olive matt That is a design
- 20:16Speaker 7: that Kratz has right now and you can get a
- 20:18Speaker 7: hold of that. There's over fifty plus colors and styles
- 20:21Speaker 7: to choose from. Over at Ridge. You can even get
- 20:23Speaker 7: a wallet that features every NFL, MLB or college team.
- 20:27Speaker 7: And for a limited time, Ridge is having their huge
- 20:29Speaker 7: Black Friday sale. Head to Ridge dot com slash foul
- 20:32Speaker 7: to get up to forty seven percent off your order.
- 20:35Speaker 7: This is by far the biggest discount they've given all year.
- 20:37Speaker 7: That's Ridge dot com slash Foul for up to forty
- 20:40Speaker 7: seven percent off your order during their biggest sale of
- 20:43Speaker 7: the year. After your purchase, I'll ask you where you
- 20:45Speaker 7: heard about Ridge. Tell them Foul Territory sent you.
- 20:47Speaker 1: All right, So the last thing I'm gonna start with
- 20:49Speaker 1: you holiday. You look very comfortable riding passenger in the suv.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Your boys are fed, you look relaxed. So the last
- 20:57Speaker 1: question is give me one guy that you think the
- 21:02Speaker 1: Cardinals should pick up. Now here are the qualifiers. It
- 21:06Speaker 1: has to be based on need. It has to be
- 21:09Speaker 1: based in reality, meaning someone that you think the Cardinals
- 21:13Speaker 1: could get and isn't one of the extraordinarily high priced
- 21:17Speaker 1: guys that they probably will take a pass on.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Who you got?
- 21:21Speaker 5: Are we Black Friday shopping timeout?
- 21:24Speaker 2: Yes?
- 21:25Speaker 1: No, Well, if you think if you come up with
- 21:27Speaker 1: a deal, you know a deal is always a deal.
- 21:31Speaker 1: And you can also go to Cardinal Territory shop dot com.
- 21:35Speaker 1: They're great deals there. Matt, go there, pick up a
- 21:38Speaker 1: couple hoodies. I'm sure we'll send you some on the
- 21:42Speaker 1: on the free.
- 21:43Speaker 2: As they say, I.
- 21:46Speaker 4: Mean, how much money do I I mean, I look
- 21:49Speaker 4: a guy like Michael King, I don't know.
- 21:53Speaker 3: I don't know what his market's going to be.
- 21:55Speaker 4: I'm guessing it's going to be probably out of the
- 21:57Speaker 4: Cardinals uh price range. But a guy like Michael King
- 22:03Speaker 4: is I like his stuff a lot. And I think
- 22:06Speaker 4: he's coming off of somewhat injury plague season, so uh,
- 22:11Speaker 4: you might be able to get him for less years.
- 22:16Speaker 4: But I think he's a good young starting pitcher with
- 22:19Speaker 4: ace type stuff that that I would be interested in.
- 22:25Speaker 4: And and uh but again, I think a lot of
- 22:28Speaker 4: people are gonna be interested in him because of his stuff.
- 22:30Speaker 4: But uh, he's a guy in the free agency that.
- 22:33Speaker 3: That I like a lot.
- 22:34Speaker 4: That Again, I don't know that the Cardinals will be
- 22:38Speaker 4: in on him, but I'll go with him.
- 22:45Speaker 2: That's a good that's a good selection.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Then, look, we don't know any of these things or possibilities. Kyle,
- 22:51Speaker 1: give me a name a guy.
- 22:52Speaker 6: You think you're not gonna yell at him? Lance yelled
- 22:56Speaker 6: at me when I brought up one hundred million dollar players.
- 22:58Speaker 5: Yeah, I think he's a hundred million dollar guy and
- 23:00Speaker 5: his qualify you yelled, that's that's a no go. I
- 23:04Speaker 5: think in the high in the high offseason plan.
- 23:08Speaker 2: That's my guess.
- 23:09Speaker 3: But I don't know. You think you think he's getting
- 23:11Speaker 3: a one hundred million.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Older than you?
- 23:14Speaker 5: And I don't yell at Matt.
- 23:15Speaker 2: I'll yo you all day long.
- 23:16Speaker 4: Kyle, I didn't know. Don't you guys think he's getting
- 23:21Speaker 4: a hundred million.
- 23:22Speaker 5: All I know is he got the qualifying off he sets.
- 23:24Speaker 5: I think that's a hard pass in him's mind right.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Now, Okay, I don't Okay, Yeah, that's probably he looks hurt.
- 23:31Speaker 4: I like, no, I didn't think about the qualifying for Kyle.
- 23:36Speaker 5: To be honest with you, King, I like three for
- 23:39Speaker 5: seventy five. I don't think it's a hundred. And we
- 23:41Speaker 5: talked about Gallon, right I like, I think Gallon's going
- 23:44Speaker 5: to be a good picture too. But I don't see him.
- 23:46Speaker 5: I don't see him because he's got the qualifying for
- 23:48Speaker 5: two and he's going to be in that same ballpark
- 23:50Speaker 5: where I think he gets a fourth year because he's
- 23:52Speaker 5: had more track record.
- 23:53Speaker 1: But it could be in a trade too. It could
- 23:55Speaker 1: be trade. Maybe they signed. I don't know, but I'm
- 23:58Speaker 1: talking trade possibility.
- 24:00Speaker 5: M m all right, Kyle's up.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Kyle, don't mess up. Because Lance will scold you.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Lance.
- 24:07Speaker 6: The last thing I saw was you said three save
- 24:09Speaker 6: five and you leaned in like you were gonna hit me,
- 24:11Speaker 6: like I said something offensive. That's the last thing I heard.
- 24:16Speaker 6: But yeah, I.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Don't, man, who's the guy?
- 24:23Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 24:23Speaker 6: That's a tough one. I mean, I think there's a
- 24:25Speaker 6: couple of trades out there to be had that might
- 24:28Speaker 6: be really interesting. I think a trade for maybe like
- 24:33Speaker 6: a Nick Cassianos could be an interesting one for the Cardinals.
- 24:36Speaker 6: You get a right handed outfield d H bat that
- 24:41Speaker 6: you know, I think I think could be interesting. Knowing
- 24:44Speaker 6: Nick how he is in the clubhouse as a veteran,
- 24:47Speaker 6: I think could be good, really really want to win
- 24:51Speaker 6: type personality. And I know that maybe that's not the
- 24:54Speaker 6: year that the Cardinals could find themselves in, but I
- 24:57Speaker 6: think it could be an interesting one.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Now he's a villain.
- 25:02Speaker 5: He's a villain because they're gonna be a third basement
- 25:05Speaker 5: right in Philly.
- 25:06Speaker 6: I mean, I think it could be interesting. Yeah, that
- 25:09Speaker 6: could be an interesting trade.
- 25:10Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Now.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Castianos is a villain in Saint Louis, but it's happened
- 25:16Speaker 1: before with Aj Perzinski, who wasn't well thought of, came
- 25:20Speaker 1: here and became beloved. That could happen with Castianos too,
- 25:24Speaker 1: And that's a guy.
- 25:25Speaker 2: I agree. He's a presence.
- 25:28Speaker 5: Did Aj become loved He did all.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Right by the media.
- 25:33Speaker 1: By the media, he didn't really, he didn't play enough
- 25:36Speaker 1: in Saint Louis to become love, but the media loved him.
- 25:39Speaker 2: He's a good dude. All right.
- 25:40Speaker 1: That's gonna do it for this edition of Cardinal Territory.
- 25:45Speaker 1: We will see you next time. It's holiday week. We
- 25:47Speaker 1: got another one coming up, and hopefully that episode won't suck.
