FDA’s initial alarm over cyclospora in Taylor Farms lettuce turned out to be a false positive — the agency has since apologized and confirmed no confirmed contamination. The recall was precautionary, and while the outbreak linked to Taco Bell locations in five states has sickened over 1,600 people (94 hospitalized), no deaths have occurred.
