- 0:03Welcome to Voices of Life, a ministry of the
- 0:07Church for Life, and I'm your host, Pastor David.
- 0:10Today, we step into week seven of our 12 -week
- 0:13journey, Living with a Purpose, a God -Centered
- 0:16Life. And this week, we're talking about the
- 0:20shapes, things that shapes everything. Living
- 0:25with a renewed mind. A renewed mind changes how
- 0:29you see God. How you see yourself. How you see
- 0:34others. How you see your future. And how you
- 0:39see your purpose. A renewed mind is not just
- 0:43a better mindset, it is a transformed life. Before
- 0:50we go deeper, take a moment and breathe. Slowly,
- 0:55deeply, intentionally. Let your thoughts settle.
- 1:01Let your heart open. Let your spirit become still.
- 1:07Because today, God wants to speak to the places
- 1:12in your mind that have been overwhelmed, overworked,
- 1:17and overcrowded. He wants to bring clarity where
- 1:23there has been confusion. He wants to bring you
- 1:26peace where there has been pressure. And he wants
- 1:31to assure you of hope where there has been heaviness.
- 1:37A renewed mind is God's gift to you. Let's be
- 1:43honest. Most of our battles don't start in our
- 1:47circumstances. They start in our thoughts. Fear
- 1:53begins in the mind. Anxiety begins in the mind.
- 1:57Shame begins in the mind. And discouragement
- 2:00begins in the mind. And when we allow it, temptation
- 2:06begins in the mind. If we've ever felt hopeless,
- 2:13the enemy knows that if he can influence your
- 2:19thoughts, he can influence your life. But God
- 2:24has given you a powerful promise. Romans 12,
- 2:30section 2 says, Be transformed by renewing your
- 2:36mind. Transformation begins in your thoughts.
- 2:43A renewed mind is not positive thinking. It is
- 2:46self -help. It is not motivational energy. It
- 2:51is not pretending everything is fine. A renewed
- 2:54mind is not denial. an alignment alignment with
- 3:01truth scripture alignment with god's voice alignment
- 3:06with god's perspective a renewed mind is a mind
- 3:12anchored in what god says a renewed mind is a
- 3:18mind shape by the holy spirit a mind that sees
- 3:25through the lens of faith A mind that filters
- 3:30thoughts through truth. A mind that refuses to
- 3:37be ruled by fear. A mind that chooses God's voice
- 3:44over every other voice. A renewed mind is a mind
- 3:48that says, I will not think like the world thinks.
- 3:53I will think like Christ thinks. God renews your
- 4:01mind in three major ways. How you see God, not
- 4:10distant, not angry or disappointed, but present,
- 4:13loving, faithful, and good. How you see yourself,
- 4:21not broken, not unworthy, not forgotten, but
- 4:28chosen. forgiven, loved and called. And third,
- 4:35how you see your future. Not hopeless, not uncertain,
- 4:43not doomed, but guided, protected, purposeful,
- 4:47secure in God's hands. A renewed mind changes
- 4:51everything. Your mind is shaped by the voices
- 4:56you allow in. the voices of fear voices of shame
- 5:01comparison culture the voice of the past or the
- 5:08voice of god a renewed mind is not about thinking
- 5:13harder it is about listening better listening
- 5:17to the right voice listening to the true voice
- 5:20listening to the voice that leads you to life
- 5:26I want you to imagine holding a thought in your
- 5:28hand. Look down on it. A thought that has been
- 5:33very heavy. A thought that has been painful.
- 5:37A thought that has been draining. Maybe it's
- 5:40fear. Maybe insecurity or guilt or even doubt.
- 5:46Now imagine placing that thought into God's hands.
- 5:52And imagine him. placing something new in yours.
- 5:59Peace, truth, hope, strength, clarity. This is
- 6:07the exchange of a renewed mind. Let us pray.
- 6:15Father, renew our minds today. Silence the lies.
- 6:21Quiet the noise. Break the patterns that have
- 6:24held us back. Fill our thoughts with your truth.
- 6:29Fill our hearts with your peace. Fill our minds
- 6:35with your perspective. Transform us from inside
- 6:40out. In Jesus' name, amen. Let's look a little
- 6:51deeper into the patterns that shape your thinking,
- 6:54the lies that must be broken, the spiritual disciplines
- 6:58that renew the mind daily. So we talked about
- 7:13opening our hearts to the truth that transformation
- 7:17begins in the mind. So as we go deeper into those
- 7:22patterns of lies and the spiritual disciplines
- 7:26that shape the way you think, let's think about
- 7:32what a renewed mind can be, what a renewed mind
- 7:39can give to ourselves, because it's God's gift.
- 7:45Because a renewed mind is not accidental. It
- 7:48is intentional. It is cultivated, formed by God's
- 7:52Spirit. Your mind is shaped by patterns. Patterns
- 8:00of thoughts. Patterns of reaction and belief.
- 8:03The patterns of interpretation. Some patterns
- 8:06lead us toward God and others pull us away from
- 8:09Him. We experience patterns of that bring peace,
- 8:17pressure, patterns that build faith, that feed
- 8:21fear. But a renewed mind requires new patterns.
- 8:29Let's talk about unhealthy patterns that often
- 8:32shape our thinking. First one is catastrophic
- 8:35thinking. Always expecting the worst, always
- 8:39imagining disaster, always assuming failure.
- 8:45Then there's the self -condemning thinking. I'm
- 8:50not enough. I always mess up. God must be disappointed
- 8:54in me. Third, comparison thinking, measuring
- 9:00your worth against someone else's highlight reel.
- 9:07Fear -driven thinking, letting anxiety become
- 9:10the loudest voice in your mind. Past anchored
- 9:15thinking, letting old wounds define your present
- 9:17identity. These patterns do not come from God,
- 9:21and they cannot remain in your mind if your mind
- 9:24is to be renewed. Behind every unhealthy pattern
- 9:28is a lie. It is a lie about God, a lie about
- 9:31yourself, a lie about your future. The enemy
- 9:35whispers, you're alone. You're not enough. You'll
- 9:40never change. God won't help you. Your past defines
- 9:45you. You're just too broken. You're too late.
- 9:50You're too far gone. But hear me today. A renewed
- 9:55mind cannot be built on old lies. Lies must be
- 9:59confronted. Lies must be exposed. And lies must
- 10:03be replaced with the truth. Truth is not information.
- 10:08Truth is transformation. Truth breaks chains.
- 10:12Truth heals wounds. It restores identity. It
- 10:15renews the mind. God's truth says you are loved,
- 10:19you are chosen, you are forgiven. You are redeemed,
- 10:24you're strengthened, you're held, you're guided.
- 10:27You are never alone. Truth is the foundation
- 10:30of a renewed mind. A renewed mind is not a one
- 10:37-time event. It is a daily practice. Here are
- 10:40the three disciplines that renew the mind. Scripture
- 10:46meditation, not just reading. You have to absorb
- 10:51it. You have to take the information and reflect
- 10:54it and let the word reshape your thoughts. Prayerful
- 11:01surrender, bringing your thoughts to God, releasing
- 11:04your worries, inviting the Holy Spirit to guide
- 11:07your mind. Thought replacement. When a lie appears,
- 11:14replace it with the truth. When fear rises, replace
- 11:18it with faith. When shame speaks, replace it
- 11:22with grace. Renewal happens one thought at a
- 11:27time. Even with a renewed mind, old thoughts
- 11:32will try to return. Old fears, insecurities,
- 11:35lies, and patterns. This does not mean you failed.
- 11:38It means you're human. A renewed mind is not
- 11:44the absence of old thoughts. It is the refusal
- 11:47to let them rule you. You may hear the lie, but
- 11:52you don't believe it. You may feel the fear,
- 11:55but you don't follow it. You may remember the
- 11:58past, but you don't return to it. That is renewal.
- 12:02I want you to imagine A thought that has been
- 12:06troubling you. A thought that drains you, discourages
- 12:12you, and distracts you. Picture it as if you're
- 12:17holding it in your hands. Now imagine placing
- 12:22that thought into a box. Close the lid. Seal
- 12:28it. Hand it to God. Now imagine him placing something
- 12:35new into your hands. Peace, truth, strength,
- 12:40hope, clarity. This is what it means to take
- 12:44every thought captive. Let us pray. Father, renew
- 12:53our minds today. Break the patterns that have
- 12:56held us back. Expose the lies that have shaped
- 12:59our thinking. Fill our hearts with your truth.
- 13:04Teach us to think with clarity, to think with
- 13:08faith, to think with the mind of Christ. Renew
- 13:14us from the inside out. In Jesus' name, amen.
- 13:23Now let's talk about how a renewed mind changes
- 13:30your identity. And it reshapes your relationships,
- 13:39your purpose. Because when your mind changes,
- 13:42your life changes. Your identity is shaped by
- 13:45thoughts you believe. If you believe lies, your
- 13:49identity becomes distorted. If you believe fear,
- 13:52your identity becomes fragile. If you believe
- 13:57shame, your identity becomes small. But when
- 14:00your mind is renewed, Your identity becomes restored.
- 14:05You begin to see yourself as God sees you. Not
- 14:09through the lens of your past. Not through the
- 14:13lens of your mistakes. Not through the lens of
- 14:16other people's opinions, but through the lens
- 14:18of truth. A renewed mind restores your identity.
- 14:25Let me speak this over you today. You are loved.
- 14:31You are chosen. You are forgiven. You are redeemed.
- 14:36You are strengthened and called. You're equipped.
- 14:40You are held by God. A renewed mind does not
- 14:45create a new identity. It reveals the identity
- 14:48you always have in Christ. A renewed mind doesn't
- 14:54change how you see yourself. It changes how you
- 14:58see others. How your mind is renewed, you become
- 15:02more patient, more compassionate, understanding,
- 15:05gracious, forgiving. You stop assuming the worst.
- 15:09You stop reacting impulsively. You stop carrying
- 15:13old wounds into new conversations. A renewed
- 15:18mind brings peace into your relationship. Because
- 15:23when your thoughts change, your response change.
- 15:30your purpose is shaped by your perspective if
- 15:34your mind is filled with fear you will shrink
- 15:36back if your mind is filled with doubt you will
- 15:39hesitate your if your mind is filled with lies
- 15:42you will disqualify yourself but when your mind
- 15:47is renewed you begin to see purpose clearly you
- 15:52begin to recognize the opportunities god places
- 15:55in front of you you begin to walk with confidence
- 15:59You begin to step into what God has called you
- 16:02to do. A renewed mind awakens purpose. A renewed
- 16:09mind gives you confidence. Not confidence in
- 16:12yourself, confidence in God. Confidence that
- 16:15he is with you. Confidence that he is guiding
- 16:18you. Confidence that he is strengthening you.
- 16:22He's working all things together for your good.
- 16:28Confidence is not arrogance. Confidence is trust.
- 16:31A renewed mind walks in trust. One of the greatest
- 16:36gifts of a renewed mind is peace. Peace doesn't
- 16:42depend on circumstances. Peace that doesn't depend
- 16:47on clarity. Peace that doesn't depend on outcomes.
- 16:54And peace that we know is coming from God directly.
- 17:02And then we know God is with me. God is for me.
- 17:05God is guiding me. God is renewing me. A renewed
- 17:10mind is a peaceful mind. I want you to imagine
- 17:14standing in front of a mirror. But this is not
- 17:18a mirror that reflects your flaws. It's not a
- 17:21mirror that reflects your past or your insecurities.
- 17:26this mirror that reflects truth this is a mirror
- 17:30that you'll look into and you'll hear god say
- 17:33you are mine you are loved you are chosen you
- 17:38are enough you are forgiven you are growing you
- 17:43are becoming who i created you to be let that
- 17:48truth renew your mind let us pray father Thank
- 17:56you for renewing our minds. Thank you for restoring
- 17:58our identity. Thank you for healing our thoughts.
- 18:01Thank you for shaping our purpose. Teach us to
- 18:06see ourselves as you see us. Teach us to see
- 18:10others with compassion. Teach us to walk in confidence
- 18:14and peace. Renew us daily by your spirit. In
- 18:19Jesus' name, amen. As we continue on and start
- 18:32thinking more about how we're going to reshape
- 18:36things in our renewed mind, we have to realize
- 18:40a renewed mind is not something you receive once
- 18:43and never revisit. It has to be a daily practice,
- 18:47a daily choice, a daily surrender. Every morning,
- 18:50you choose what thoughts you will allow in. Every
- 18:55afternoon. you choose what thoughts you will
- 18:58dwell on. Every evening, you choose what thoughts
- 19:03you will release. Renewal is not accidental.
- 19:07Renewal is intentional. Your mind has gates.
- 19:12The gate of what you watch, the gate of what
- 19:15you listen to, what you read, rehearse, and imagine.
- 19:21A renewed mind requires guarded gates. not out
- 19:25of fear, but out of wisdom. You cannot fill your
- 19:29mind with negativity and expect peace. You cannot
- 19:32fill your mind with fear and expect faith. You
- 19:37can't fill your mind with lies and expect truth.
- 19:43Guarding your mind is an act of stewardship.
- 19:47A renewed mind is not just about removing those
- 19:50unhealthy thoughts. It is about replacing them.
- 19:55Replacing fear with faith, lies with truth, shame
- 20:00with grace, anxiety with peace, doubt with confidence.
- 20:07You cannot simply stop thinking wrong thoughts.
- 20:10You must start thinking right thoughts. Replacement
- 20:14is the engine of renewal. And remember, you're
- 20:20not renewing your mind by yourself. The Holy
- 20:25Spirit is your helper, your teacher, your guide,
- 20:28counselor. He brings truth to your remembrance.
- 20:32He convicts, he comforts, corrects, strengthens.
- 20:37A renewed mind is not self -improvement. It is
- 20:42spirit empowerment. You don't renew your mind
- 20:46by trying harder. You renew your mind by surrendering
- 20:51deeper. A renewed mind produces fruit. Fruit
- 21:00of the gods. Peace, clarity, confidence, joy,
- 21:04patience, wisdom, discernment, and hope. A renewed
- 21:10mind changes your reactions. Changes your decision.
- 21:15Changes your relationships, your habits. Changes
- 21:18your futures. A renewed mind is a transformed
- 21:21life. And let's be honest. There will be days
- 21:26your mind feels heavy. Days when the old thoughts
- 21:30return. Days when fear whispers again. Days when
- 21:33lies feel louder than truth. Remember, this does
- 21:39not mean you failed. It means you're human. Renewal
- 21:42is not perfection. Renewal is persistence. Persistence
- 21:47means that you have to work at it constantly.
- 21:52You don't just say it one time and let it go.
- 21:55When your mind slips, you don't start over. You
- 21:59simply return. Return to the truth, the scripture,
- 22:03prayer, surrender. A renewed mind is a returning
- 22:09mind. Place your hands over your heart. Take
- 22:16a slow breath in and exhale gently. Now quietly
- 22:22say, Lord, reset my mind. Renew my thoughts.
- 22:30Restore my peace. Imagine God's presence washing
- 22:35over your mind like a gentle wave clearing the
- 22:40way and clearing all the clutter and the noise,
- 22:43the heaviness, taking it far away from you. This
- 22:49is the daily reset. This is the rhythm of renewed
- 22:53mind. Let us pray Father Thank you for the gift
- 23:00of a renewed mind teach us to guard our thoughts
- 23:04Teach us to replace lies with truth Teach us
- 23:09to walk with daily surrender Holy Spirit fill
- 23:15our minds with your wisdom your peace clarity
- 23:17and strength Renew us every morning renew us
- 23:23every moment Renew us from the inside out. In
- 23:28Jesus' name, amen. This concludes week seven
- 23:37of our 12 -week journey living with purpose a
- 23:40God -centered life. You have taken a powerful
- 23:43step this week, a step toward clarity, a step
- 23:47toward peace, a step toward transformation. A
- 23:53renewed mind is not a destination. It is a lifestyle.
- 23:57And you're learning to live renewed. Thank you
- 24:04for joining me on Voices of Life, a ministry
- 24:07of the Church for Life. I'm Pastor David, and
- 24:11I'll see you next week as we step into week eight.
