- 0:15Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, like we shot out like.
- 0:16Speaker 2: The last music video, doing a lot of interviews for
- 0:20Speaker 2: the last couple of weeks, doing trying to plot like
- 0:24Speaker 2: festivals and tours for the year.
- 0:25Speaker 3: They say, all the behind the scenes stuff that.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Like the stuff that makes the money, stuff that makes
- 0:32Speaker 1: some money.
- 0:32Speaker 3: It needs to happen, except it's not as fun.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Yes, this is true. This is true. So when does
- 0:38Speaker 4: your new album release? When's it dropped two weeks.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Or a little like Little Left and two weeks on
- 0:43Speaker 3: the twenty seventh of February.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Or some exciting exciting Yes, so twenty seventh's way sooner
- 0:49Speaker 1: than what I thought.
- 0:49Speaker 4: I think.
- 0:49Speaker 3: It's like, yeah, it's one of those things. I'm like
- 0:52Speaker 3: all them. This year is going to go buy faster
- 0:54Speaker 3: than everyone.
- 0:55Speaker 1: You know, in the older I get the more it's
- 0:57Speaker 1: a different thing, and it's just it's terrible.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Last year just went like that. But but are you're busy?
- 1:04Speaker 1: And I guess you can't complain because bored and then
- 1:07Speaker 1: you're you're not sitting around board, you don't get in trouble.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yeah, boys, keep me busy.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Yeah, so that's exciting.
- 1:20Speaker 1: So what our number album is is for net five
- 1:23Speaker 1: mm hm the third Awesome Awesome.
- 1:27Speaker 4: So plans to come down Under later.
- 1:29Speaker 3: In the year possibly. I mean, I don't like it's
- 1:35Speaker 3: been talked about, but I don't really.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Know how to go about it, So I'm not sure
- 1:40Speaker 2: for like, honestly just don't know right now.
- 1:42Speaker 1: But yeah, hopefully, Yeah, I'm sure there'll be a few
- 1:47Speaker 1: promoters out there wanting to jump on board and drag
- 1:49Speaker 1: you out.
- 1:51Speaker 4: We've got yeah, then we've.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Got plenty of festivals that happened throughout the year and whatnot,
- 1:56Speaker 1: which is always good for us. We love our live
- 1:58Speaker 1: music over here. So tell me a little bit about yourselves.
- 2:02Speaker 1: How did it stop, where have you been, where are
- 2:04Speaker 1: you headed? And what's the the future predicts for yourselves.
- 2:10Speaker 2: The started, I think eight years ago, okay, started almost
- 2:16Speaker 2: as like it was just gonna be a musical project
- 2:18Speaker 2: that was just like non playing live. Then it changed
- 2:22Speaker 2: fast and then started becoming like an actual band appreviate
- 2:27Speaker 2: like we were on season and miss for like our
- 2:29Speaker 2: last couple of records, this records out of Metal Blade,
- 2:32Speaker 2: Uh did a bunch of tours in the US and
- 2:35Speaker 2: some festivals gone out with everybody from like a U
- 2:37Speaker 2: Wanna to thirteen forty nine to Dance like that, some.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Pretty big things. Yeah.
- 2:44Speaker 3: See as far as it goes, everything's going pretty well.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Uh my sounds with Yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Way it's still like, you know, excited for things. So
- 2:54Speaker 2: it's uh yeah.
- 2:56Speaker 1: For sure, that's what it's all about. If you still
- 2:58Speaker 1: love what you're doing, then it's a thing. If you
- 3:00Speaker 1: get paid for it even better, Yeah, exactly.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:03Speaker 1: So I take it your from musical backgrounds, yourselves coming.
- 3:08Speaker 3: To the band.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Yeah, like, uh so I've been in like some kind
- 3:12Speaker 2: of like heavy metal ish doom bands and some punk bands.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Our drummer, Dabber has been in everything from Motions the
- 3:19Speaker 2: Slumber to Insect Warfare, just like all kinds of different stuff. Yeah,
- 3:23Speaker 2: it's been death metal bands and some things like that too.
- 3:26Speaker 2: So yeah, all has been. Yeah, we've always been playing music.
- 3:31Speaker 3: For a little while.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Sure, for sure. I can't imagine you just still picked
- 3:34Speaker 4: up an instrument eight years ago.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Let's start a bit. Although some people like to think that,
- 3:40Speaker 1: you know that the success just happens overnight, slid.
- 3:43Speaker 3: You just started, a band's.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Been doing it for a long time, the ones a
- 3:46Speaker 4: vegan and I.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Mean there's like a few occasions or stuff just kind
- 3:50Speaker 2: of is right time, right place with some people, and
- 3:52Speaker 2: it happens, but most like yeah, but I would say,
- 3:55Speaker 2: but most of it is people have been doing stuff
- 3:58Speaker 2: for a long time and eventually something exerts the right time.
- 4:01Speaker 4: That's right, that's it, you know.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I think they like to tell everyone the fairy tale
- 4:06Speaker 1: and yeah then then oh this has a bit too
- 4:09Speaker 1: much hard work. It didn't happen. And that drop off
- 4:12Speaker 1: you see, it happened quite a bit. But yeah, so
- 4:15Speaker 1: what's your fan base like cells Oh young.
- 4:18Speaker 4: New in the middle.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I'm kind of like all over the place, but I
- 4:21Speaker 2: would say mostly like not super young, but not old,
- 4:25Speaker 2: like somewhere in the middle.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, pretty easish like you Yeah, I got
- 4:31Speaker 3: it right.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah, so you're still finding yourself in a few playlists
- 4:34Speaker 1: a here and there that give you some instruction.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yeah, some of that stuff happens, like but like you know,
- 4:39Speaker 2: like we're not like by any means like a.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Some kind of hip younger band in that right kind.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Of thing where it's like whatever I mean, ye get
- 4:47Speaker 2: me wrong, trending on TikTok right now, So you never.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Know, That's what I mean. Do you never never cease
- 4:54Speaker 4: to surprise me?
- 4:55Speaker 1: What ends up on these young kids playlist that I
- 4:57Speaker 1: think is new music and it's like it's been out forever,
- 5:00Speaker 1: but okay, gives it to.
- 5:02Speaker 4: Me a lot.
- 5:03Speaker 2: I mean, that's been happening where it's like kind of
- 5:05Speaker 2: crazy where it's like, what's really happening? Like what are
- 5:08Speaker 2: all these people doing at this show that I've never
- 5:10Speaker 2: even seen before. I mean, it's good for the bands,
- 5:14Speaker 2: it is, it is.
- 5:15Speaker 4: And they you know, they know all all the tracks
- 5:17Speaker 4: and they look in hard. It's kind of great.
- 5:19Speaker 1: It's it's a phenomenon that it seems to be happening
- 5:21Speaker 1: across across all the genres. And I'm seeing it quite
- 5:25Speaker 1: a bit, which is always was never Sea System amaze me.
- 5:28Speaker 1: And it's good for yourselves, you know, especially yeah there
- 5:32Speaker 1: and then they by tickets and company shows.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Yeah exactly, everything it all worked out. It's just kind
- 5:37Speaker 2: of when it happens, it's uh, surprise, like what what's
- 5:42Speaker 2: going on?
- 5:42Speaker 3: Okay?
- 5:43Speaker 1: That's good, awesome, awesome. So how would you describe yourselves?
- 5:47Speaker 1: It was the genre of music. What's do you do?
- 5:49Speaker 1: You find your look into a specific genre or you're
- 5:52Speaker 1: a bit hybrid.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I mean what I would say.
- 5:55Speaker 2: I mean, we're a black metal band, and we draw
- 5:56Speaker 2: from like a couple of different you know, like influence
- 6:00Speaker 2: and things like that, but at the core.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Of it's just for black metal.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yeah, traditional, there's other stuff, but yeah, but it's like,
- 6:08Speaker 2: you know, for the most part, that's I would say,
- 6:10Speaker 2: that's what.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Yeah, there's so many new subgenres these days, and it's
- 6:13Speaker 1: just I hear the most bizarre as things sometimes. I
- 6:16Speaker 1: think I had one the other day was described as
- 6:20Speaker 1: egg punk, and I'm like, oh, that's supposed.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Some kids stuff. When it starts getting into that, it's
- 6:26Speaker 2: like highly entertaining. I'm like, oh, I think some of
- 6:30Speaker 2: that it doesn't even seem to be like a new
- 6:33Speaker 2: like an actual subgenre. It's just kind of like what
- 6:35Speaker 2: they call a certain thing instead. I mean, I guess
- 6:39Speaker 2: it ends up being a subgenre, but it's like a
- 6:41Speaker 2: time and place of like this is what they're calling
- 6:44Speaker 2: this now or something like that.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and it gets hard to a lot of
- 6:48Speaker 1: it's some you know, synth punk and synthmental. It's you know,
- 6:53Speaker 1: it kind of well sounds the same in a way
- 6:55Speaker 1: if we stepped back a lot.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I mean, like it ends up being the same kind
- 6:58Speaker 3: of stuff and this and that, but it yeah, yeah, I.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Mean if it makes you groove and people enjoy it,
- 7:03Speaker 1: then that's all that matters.
- 7:06Speaker 4: But yeah, I do.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I do find the sub John is quite interesting and
- 7:08Speaker 1: I have a giggle from time to time. So yeah,
- 7:11Speaker 1: so new album comes out, You've got tours planned for
- 7:14Speaker 1: the States?
- 7:15Speaker 4: Do you later in the.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Year working on some stuff and nothing's announced yet. We're
- 7:19Speaker 2: going to Europe but that's not announced yet.
- 7:21Speaker 3: But yeah, so.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Like all still, I'm planning fun things where it's like, Okay,
- 7:25Speaker 2: you're cool, let's figure this out.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's it's in the in the pipeline only
- 7:30Speaker 4: works except.
- 7:30Speaker 2: There's nothing like nothing to be just yeah yeah, yeah, no,
- 7:34Speaker 2: that's awesome.
- 7:35Speaker 4: That's good to know that you've got something to look
- 7:37Speaker 4: forward to. So how long were you guys?
- 7:40Speaker 1: Was it studio that you spend most of the time
- 7:42Speaker 1: putting this album together?
- 7:44Speaker 2: We've I mean we worked on the songs beforehand and
- 7:47Speaker 2: then kind of like we we worked on the songs
- 7:50Speaker 2: beforehand and then kind of like we did some stuff
- 7:52Speaker 2: at at our drummer studio and then we recorded like
- 7:55Speaker 2: a bunch of other things at a bigger studio.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Yeah, kind of some the sense and things afterwards, a
- 8:00Speaker 3: different one and things like that.
- 8:01Speaker 2: So a little bit, I mean spend a little bit
- 8:03Speaker 2: more time than say just us going to the studio
- 8:05Speaker 2: like we've done in like previous ones.
- 8:07Speaker 1: So normally you would go in and as a band
- 8:09Speaker 1: and like play it until you've got it right and
- 8:11Speaker 1: then put it down.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it just kind of you know, like here is
- 8:16Speaker 2: this is that, Okay, let's go do drums and vocals
- 8:19Speaker 2: at the big studio and came back and added some things.
- 8:21Speaker 1: So yeah, because it's always interesting to do it, you know,
- 8:24Speaker 1: the two different ways. It's i mean getting in there
- 8:27Speaker 1: with the studio with the band and you know, playing
- 8:29Speaker 1: it out. It's you know, you can kind of get frustrating,
- 8:32Speaker 1: you if you're not getting it right, but where are
- 8:33Speaker 1: you playing your separate pieces and you've got a good
- 8:36Speaker 1: producer and mixer and master that will put it together
- 8:40Speaker 1: and we call them turn polishes.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I mean, it's true, depending on what's amazing.
- 8:46Speaker 4: I love it.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I think that's less pressure to be a mist you
- 8:49Speaker 1: know when you get to going bit by bit, and
- 8:53Speaker 1: I think it allows me more room to play. And yeah,
- 8:56Speaker 1: it's not so so much pressure on getting it right
- 8:59Speaker 1: playing through the press run. That's just that's just my
- 9:02Speaker 1: opinion anyway. It always always works different for everybody else.
- 9:06Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, did you guys find it was a
- 9:09Speaker 1: little less pressure for yourselves to do it that way
- 9:11Speaker 1: this time?
- 9:12Speaker 2: I mean, like, I really like this kind of it
- 9:14Speaker 2: gives us like a little more time to think some
- 9:15Speaker 2: stuff out without overthinking it.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Yeah, and can control some things and.
- 9:20Speaker 2: A little bit better than if you just kind of
- 9:22Speaker 2: go somewhere and kind of you're at the wheel.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, no, definitely, definitely. I'm certainly a fan of it.
- 9:27Speaker 1: But it's yeah, it's just said, it's also nice to
- 9:29Speaker 1: get in there and shoot it out and see what
- 9:31Speaker 1: comes as well.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a fun part about being studio.
- 9:35Speaker 1: So so it took a little bit of time for
- 9:37Speaker 1: you guys did get the album out, So like a
- 9:40Speaker 1: year or so, how long was it all?
- 9:42Speaker 3: We finished it, like I think last February. So it's
- 9:44Speaker 3: been like a.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Better year I guess yeah, yeah, nice, nice, and yeah
- 9:49Speaker 1: that's awesome.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Feel like, you know, it's like this record to me,
- 9:52Speaker 2: like super old, So it's like weird to come back,
- 9:55Speaker 2: like okay, here we go.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:56Speaker 4: It's always it's interesting when that happens because it's you know.
- 9:59Speaker 1: It's not I mean, it's good, but it's not representative
- 10:02Speaker 1: of where you're at now. And you know, especially if
- 10:04Speaker 1: you're still making Yeah, yeah, then you're gonna go.
- 10:08Speaker 4: I remember how you play the songs, what are you
- 10:11Speaker 4: going to? That's exactly.
- 10:13Speaker 1: So Yad's obviously happy with that how came out.
- 10:17Speaker 3: And I'm really happy with everything turned out, like mixed everything.
- 10:21Speaker 4: So and you said before you were doing some music
- 10:23Speaker 4: videos as well, how did that go?
- 10:26Speaker 3: Those things went really well.
- 10:26Speaker 2: We we did one with like a I did one
- 10:30Speaker 2: like a really good one to some new guys that
- 10:31Speaker 2: wanted to work with forever, and then and then we
- 10:35Speaker 2: did one with like a long friend of like a
- 10:36Speaker 2: friend I've been working with for a while, and then
- 10:38Speaker 2: one of my friend that I haven't done.
- 10:39Speaker 3: A video with in like ten years.
- 10:41Speaker 1: But they all turned out great, excellent, excellent and sorry.
- 10:44Speaker 1: What was the fame of the music VIDs? This's interesting.
- 10:48Speaker 2: It's just kind of like live stuff mixed with like
- 10:50Speaker 2: some small narrative that guy's got of like the first
- 10:52Speaker 2: one that guy did, like some like some small animation
- 10:56Speaker 2: or like still animation stuff with pieces Oh cool. The
- 11:00Speaker 2: other ones just like a friends took some like video
- 11:02Speaker 2: edits and some other things like mixed in with us
- 11:04Speaker 2: playing live.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it's always nice to do. You can always have
- 11:07Speaker 1: funting around with ours. I see you've put the vinyl
- 11:11Speaker 1: collection behind you well too many?
- 11:13Speaker 4: Yeah, what's what? What does your collection exist of? What
- 11:18Speaker 4: have we got in there?
- 11:18Speaker 3: Any? And it's everything from like old punk stuff to
- 11:21Speaker 3: country records to black metal too. I mean it's it's
- 11:24Speaker 3: all over the place.
- 11:25Speaker 4: I love it.
- 11:26Speaker 3: I love it.
- 11:26Speaker 4: What's the most prized vinyl.
- 11:30Speaker 3: I don't really know off the top of my head.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I mean some of these records I've had since I
- 11:35Speaker 2: was fifteen, so like, you know, some old punk stuff
- 11:37Speaker 2: and some things like that.
- 11:38Speaker 1: But you know, yeah, you'd have to have some absolute
- 11:40Speaker 1: classics in there that you'd you'd punch.
- 11:44Speaker 2: I mean there's like a ton of like you know,
- 11:46Speaker 2: Judis Priests and Iron Maiden and all that stuff.
- 11:48Speaker 3: You know, just you know, all over the place.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it'd be fun having a dig through your collection,
- 11:55Speaker 1: that's for sure. Does it get much on the turon
- 11:58Speaker 1: table or is it just sit and look?
- 12:00Speaker 2: Yeah, just I mean not all of it because obviously
- 12:02Speaker 2: it's like it was impossible to do, but yeah, I
- 12:04Speaker 2: mean a good choice of it gets used.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Like quite Yes, I'm kind of like the fact that
- 12:09Speaker 1: I'm Vinyl's made of revival.
- 12:11Speaker 4: Did you guys put you with this album out on Vinyl?
- 12:14Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 12:15Speaker 4: I love it.
- 12:15Speaker 1: I think it's the best. It's you know, I personally
- 12:17Speaker 1: think it's got a better sound. He gets some good speaker.
- 12:20Speaker 3: I mean it sounds good. Also, like I just like
- 12:22Speaker 3: the big format of it. Yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it's piece of something you can hold and it's like,
- 12:29Speaker 2: you know, that's exactly right.
- 12:30Speaker 4: You can hold onto it, you can go this is
- 12:32Speaker 4: this is music.
- 12:33Speaker 1: It's whereas you know, without that, it's kind of just
- 12:36Speaker 1: on a screen somewhere and it's just not quite the same.
- 12:38Speaker 1: But yes, I am I'm all for the Vinyl revival,
- 12:42Speaker 1: which I'm loving. Sorry, yes, all right, well, look, thank
- 12:46Speaker 1: you so much for coming and joining us today.
- 12:49Speaker 4: That's awesome. Take it away.
