- 0:15We just started. I am a sophie and I would like to relate
- 0:23something that still torments me to this day. It' s even more horrible,
- 0:27because it' s someone I knew perfectly well in life. Throughout my
- 0:29whole life. I have been aware that my partner choices have been very bad,
- 0:35for I have never had a boyfriend with whom I had a good or
- 0:39at least healthy relationship, but quite the opposite. In my relationships there have
- 0:44always been screams, ill- treatment and too many infidelities. This is something
- 0:49that, despite being fully conscious, was a circle that seemed unable to come
- 0:53out of. I' m not willing to sweeten things or just become the
- 1:00victim today. I am aware that in the past I myself was not exactly
- 1:04what we could say a person who could make a relationship healthy. My jealousy
- 1:10was the main problem. Besides, I never listened, I was always clinging
- 1:15to being right. Don' t misunderstand me. I' m not saying
- 1:19that' s why I deserved the people I ran into. I' m
- 1:23just saying that in the beginning, because of those attitudes, I might well
- 1:30be attracting those kind of people. But all this changed when, after ending
- 1:34up with a very bad and long relationship that had even advanced to physical abuse,
- 1:40I decided to take the reins of my life and start attending therapy.
- 1:44All this seemed to be quite beneficial. For me and honestly I felt that
- 1:49I was beginning to move forward as a person during this time I was attending
- 1:56therapy continuously I also decided to give myself the time to be totally single without
- 2:01knowing anyone I had jumped from one relationship to another since I was fourteen years
- 2:07old without giving myself the time to be alone with myself. It seems to
- 2:09me that it was about a year after that time that I thought I was
- 2:15ready to start a new relationship, so I started dating my friends looking for
- 2:20someone new, feeling that on this occasion I could find someone better, because
- 2:24I felt that I had already advanced and grown up as a person. A
- 2:30couple of months after that was when I met the one who would be the
- 2:34worst relationship I' ve ever had as a normal toxic relationship to me.
- 2:38The truth is that it did not start in a violent or easily predictable way
- 2:43that would go wrong, but quite the opposite. I met him at a
- 2:47restaurant where he worked as a waiter and he really looked like someone well-
- 2:52looking and educated. For the first few weeks we were dating, everything was
- 2:57pink and very chiseled, but it didn' t seem to have any flaws.
- 3:02I even came to believe I' d found the right man. However,
- 3:07little by little I realized that all those attributes I showed every time we
- 3:10went out were just a facade to cover up what really was everything. It
- 3:17began so gradually that it was hard for me to realize that that boyfriend I
- 3:23had at the time was nothing more than a possessive manipulator. At first he
- 3:28let me know that I had no friends and like me, if I was
- 3:31in contact with many people, he told me that my friends could easily be
- 3:37his. I liked this idea a lot, because I thought that that way
- 3:40we could spend more time together, although after a couple of exits, the
- 3:46truth was everyone could see that it wasn' t working, and he didn
- 3:50' t seem to want to talk to anyone and he seemed angry all the
- 3:53time. He always put a but anywhere and always complained about his food or
- 3:59the do, changing only his attitude when it was time to go to the
- 4:03point that when my friends invited me anywhere, they begged me not to take
- 4:08him for any reason. When I wanted to talk to him about this situation,
- 4:15he just told me that the reason he didn' t like my friends
- 4:17was because they didn' t feel like honest people. He told me that
- 4:23I had heard two of my friends criticize my clothes and that the boys always
- 4:27looked at my ass. When I left, I told him that it couldn
- 4:30' t be real, and he told me that I was in my right
- 4:33not to believe him, but that at least he didn' t want to
- 4:39go out with them anymore and that he just wanted to go out with me,
- 4:44something that, although he left me thinking about all my friends, also
- 4:46solved the problem. Or so I thought as time passed, he started making
- 4:50me cancel plans with my friends. I didn' t do it directly.
- 4:56He didn' t have a lovely way to convince me. He always told
- 5:00me that he was fine, if he wanted to go out, but that
- 5:04he had something planned for us that day, something that sounded so convincing and
- 5:10attractive that almost without realizing it, I ended up giving in and staying with
- 5:15him, canceling my plans with my friends. After that, I remember we
- 5:18set up a kind of rule of not using our cell phones when we were
- 5:26together to pay as much attention as possible. And although at first I found
- 5:29it strange, I interpreted it as a romantic gesture to avoid digital distractions and
- 5:34focus on our love. Little things like that were progressing progressively until I was
- 5:42completely involved in a relationship that consumed my life. He completely forced me to
- 5:46quit therapy arguing that I needed no one but him to feel good and,
- 5:53besides, I could no longer see any of my friends or make new friends.
- 5:58If he did not know that he was talking in a friendly manner with
- 6:00any co- worker, a huge fight broke out and often ended with him
- 6:06throwing things or hitting the walls. And although technically it never hit me,
- 6:13fear was always present. In spite of everything, a part of me continued
- 6:18to love him and had developed a dependence on him, and I remember the
- 6:25times that I tried to end the relationship just so that he begged me,
- 6:29that I would stay, I would cry and promise to change until I ended
- 6:33up agreeing for a few days. Everything seemed fine, but then everything was
- 6:36the same again, becoming the worst relationship I' d ever had in my
- 6:42life and honestly I didn' t know how to get out of it.
- 6:46The real nightmare ended and at the same time began the day when I was
- 6:50more than determined to end the relationship. On that day, in particular,
- 6:56we had gone out to a restaurant where I had a scene of such intense
- 7:00jealousy why I told him Thanks to a waiter, he turned the table,
- 7:04threw glasses and even threatened to die. The mesedo got to the point that
- 7:09we ended up getting kicked out of the establishment. For me, that was
- 7:13the drop that filled the glass. I was no longer willing to hear any
- 7:16more apologies or promises. I just wanted to end that relationship once and for
- 7:20all and there was nothing he could do about it. We were arguing strongly
- 7:29while he was driving the car and I finally gathered enough courage to tell him
- 7:33that I no longer wanted to be his girlfriend and that the relationship was over
- 7:38forever. At that time, his attitude changed completely. He told me he
- 7:43couldn' t do that by repeating the same things he had said before when
- 7:48I tried to break up with him. But this time I was not willing
- 7:51to give in to his manipulations. I made it clear to him that I
- 7:56didn' t care and that the relationship was over. It was the first
- 7:59time he didn' t waver. I was absolutely sure it was all over.
- 8:05However, he did not count on him not being willing to let the
- 8:09relationship end like this. I asked him to stop the car and let me
- 8:13down I didn' t want to be with him for another minute, but
- 8:18instead of stopping, I noticed the speed increasing. What made me even more
- 8:22nervous was that I was told that if we ended up at that moment,
- 8:26life would have no meaning and that it was not worth living. After that,
- 8:31my memories become blurry. That man' s madness ended with our car
- 8:37crashing into an excavator. It was a horrible accident. I just remember intense
- 8:43pain going all over my body. Then everything went black. When I regained
- 8:48consciousness, I realized that I was in the hospital, surrounded by my family.
- 8:54He' d been in a coma for almost two weeks. I had
- 8:58a broken arm and leg, but otherwise I was fine and I was told
- 9:01that my injuries, although serious, would not leave permanent sequelae and that eventually
- 9:07I could return to my normal life. A few days later I learned that
- 9:13my ex- boyfriend had died shortly after arriving at the hospital. It was
- 9:16a shocking and tragic turn in a story that I thought had come to an
- 9:20end. When they gave me the news, I remember that it hurt a
- 9:26lot, because even though our relationship was one of the worst I' ve
- 9:30ever had, I couldn' t ignore how much I' d loved him
- 9:33in the past. I did not wish him any evil, much less death.
- 9:37I was in the hospital a few more weeks before I was discharged,
- 9:41and during that time I went back to therapy and resumed contact with my friends.
- 9:48Once fully recovered, both physically and mentally, my economic situation improved I
- 9:54became economically independent and was able to rent my own apartment. At that time
- 10:01I was not interested in any relationship beyond friendship. I was still afraid to
- 10:05run into another abusive relationship like the one before. About two years passed and
- 10:11a new co- worker joined the company and from the first moment there was
- 10:16an instant connection between us. Although at first I was resistant to a relationship,
- 10:22I could not help but feel attracted to him. Soon we started dating.
- 10:28I sporadically told him what I had lived and he told me that we
- 10:31could only go out and meet until I stopped feeling uncomfortable. We met for
- 10:37almost a year before I was ready, but that was just the beginning of
- 10:41a nightmare. I remember clearly the day we formalized our relationship, I went
- 10:48back to my happy apartment, thinking I had finally found a good relationship.
- 10:54I got ready to sleep and turned off all the lights. I was about
- 10:58to fall asleep when I heard footsteps in the living room. I was scared,
- 11:03because I lived alone and had never given keys to anyone. Very slowly.
- 11:07I opened the door, but there was no one and I thought it
- 11:09might be the noise of the house or the apartment upstairs, so I decided
- 11:15not to give it much importance. I went back to bed and got ready
- 11:18to sleep. Again. I was about to fall asleep when this time I
- 11:24heard in a very clear way as if the knob on my door was turning.
- 11:28But not only that. I also saw clearly how my door was beginning
- 11:33to open I threw a cry of horror. Now I was sure there was
- 11:37someone else there, the truth. I didn' t think of a ghost
- 11:41or anything like that at the time. I thought someone was stealing or something
- 11:46worse. I quickly turned on the light, but there was no sign of
- 11:52anyone fearful. I went out the hallway of the apartment just to realize that
- 11:56there was no one. I took a dagger and started r inspecting every corner,
- 12:01but I couldn' t find anyone. And this really started scaring me
- 12:05so much that for the first time I thought of something paranormal. I'
- 12:11ve never seen anything related to ghosts before, but I' ve always believed
- 12:16those stories could be true. My grandmother used to say that for a spirit
- 12:22to leave you alone, you just had to tell her that she was not
- 12:26welcome and that she had to leave. I tried, but I didn'
- 12:28t get an answer. So I went back to my room. This time,
- 12:31with all the lights on and all the effort, I managed to fall
- 12:37asleep. That night I had a rather strange dream. On it. I
- 12:41could see my late ex- boyfriend, who cried telling me that I had
- 12:46changed him and that I belonged to him in the dream. I kept repeating
- 12:50that our relationship was over, but he insisted that I would always be his
- 12:56girlfriend I woke up startled and realized that all the lights in my apartment were
- 13:01out, even though I remembered leaving them on. That left me even more
- 13:07restless. All this alone was something that scared me, so I tried to
- 13:11turn on the light in my room, but the switch didn' t work
- 13:16and I thought it might be an electrical failure. While I was looking for
- 13:20my phone in the dark to light the flashlight, I began to hear something
- 13:24strange. It wasn' t steps, it was like someone was mumbling.
- 13:31At first I thought they might be my upstairs neighbors, but then I realized
- 13:35that the voice was identical to that of my late ex- boyfriend. I
- 13:39could not believe what I was hearing and as the seconds passed the whispers became
- 13:45clearer and audible words, repeating over and over again you are mine. At
- 13:50the time I was so scared that I ran out of my apartment just wearing
- 13:54the clothes I was wearing. I didn' t know where to go,
- 14:00but I finally decided to go to my parents' house and tell them everything
- 14:03that happened. And even though it was early in the morning, they believed
- 14:07me and decided to hire a priest to bless my apartment. The next day,
- 14:11however, none of that seemed to work. The presence of my ex
- 14:16- boyfriend kept tormenting me. He appeared not only to me in my apartment,
- 14:22but also when I was with my new boyfriend. The first strange sign
- 14:26occurred the next day. Of those events in my apartment. I told my
- 14:31new boyfriend everything, as I trusted him enough to share my concerns and even
- 14:35though he didn' t mock. I didn' t believe much in paranormals
- 14:41either, and he recommended that I work on that in therapy. But later
- 14:45that day, while we were eating in a restaurant and I was already feeling
- 14:50much better, the drinks at our table exploded for no apparent reason. They
- 14:54didn' t fall down or fly out, they just blew up hurting my
- 15:01boyfriend' s roll with glass fragments. That' s not over. So,
- 15:05although we couldn' t explain what happened, we tried not to relate
- 15:09the issues and, after going to the doctor to verify that the cuts on
- 15:13my boyfriend' s face weren' t serious, we continued with our appointment.
- 15:18However, throughout the day it was nothing more than a series of accidents.
- 15:22For my boyfriend, everything was happening to him. He stumbled out of
- 15:28nowhere as he went down stairs, electric doors failed when he wanted to cross.
- 15:33And the most serious thing was when he stopped to tie his holes and
- 15:37suddenly it was as if something pushed him onto the road, remaining inches from
- 15:41being hit by a car. The next day, my boyfriend told me that
- 15:46all night long, his phone kept ringing. At first, as it was
- 15:52early in the morning, he quickly answered thinking that it might be a family
- 15:58emergency. However, how when reindeer responded. The only thing he could hear
- 16:03was a voice too angry from a man on the other side of the line,
- 16:07telling him that he couldn' t have me and that he was better
- 16:11off breaking up with me if he didn' t want to get into more
- 16:12trouble. Contrary, my boyfriend told him that he didn' t know who
- 16:18he was talking about, but the man kept threatening him and throwing a great
- 16:22series of insults at him, repeating and reminding him that he should let me
- 16:26in step face the consequences. The strangest thing for him was that, at
- 16:30first, he didn' t even see the number. The fifth time he
- 16:33called him he decided to observe him and, to his surprise, it was
- 16:38not even a possible number. They were just a bunch of random symbols.
- 16:42There wasn' t even a single number, just letters and symbols. This
- 16:47seemed very strange to him and he did not stop receiving these calls throughout the
- 16:52night, to the point that he had to silence his phone. But the
- 16:56next morning I had a lot of lost flames. In spite of everything,
- 17:03we try to continue our relationship. However, as the days passed, everything
- 17:07began to become too dangerous. They were no longer just small accidents, but
- 17:14the severity of them began to take their toll on my boyfriend' s health
- 17:18and he was getting sick. It was dawning with extremely large bruises that the
- 17:25doctors could not give you any explanation. We decided to go with shamans and
- 17:30sorcerers to try to remove that evil entity from us, but none of them
- 17:36really could help. Although there were many who promised that they could remove that
- 17:40being from me, none succeeded and although it hurt in my soul, I
- 17:44finally decided to end that relationship. I saw that my boyfriend was getting sicker
- 17:51and sicker and I felt that if I didn' t end up with this,
- 17:56I would end up having a fatal accident or something like that, I
- 17:59ended the relationship. But for me, the search to find someone who would
- 18:03really help me get rid of the spirit of my ex- boyfriend who was
- 18:07stalking me for years was not over. I have desperately tried to deliberate on
- 18:15this spirit that haunts me. However, I have not succeeded, since when
- 18:18I am single, he just disappears in no medium. You may feel that
- 18:22I have something, but as soon as I try to enter into any other
- 18:27relationship beyond friendship, this zero evil entity reappears to prevent it and hurt the
- 18:33person involved in countless ways. My guilt always leads me to make the difficult
- 18:38decision to determine the relationship once and for all. I' ve never even
- 18:45managed to make this being uncomfortable or, at least, temporarily alienate it.
- 18:48I don' t understand why my deceased' s spirit is boyfriend clings so
- 18:52much to me or why it' s so powerful that no Witch or Shaman
- 18:56has ever succeeded in expelling him. In spite of everything, I am determined
- 19:00to keep trying until I finally find the liberation that I so long for.
- 19:04For now, all I have left is to endure and pray to God that
- 19:10at some point I may be freed from this horrible nightmare that torments me.
