- 0:00Father, we get to do this. That's our heart.
- 0:02It's not just the show title. It really is the
- 0:04mantra of our life because you have blessed us
- 0:08so much that we have an attitude of gratitude
- 0:11and we just constantly say it because we mean
- 0:14it. We pray for our listeners today. They would
- 0:16be encouraged. They would find themselves built
- 0:20up and inspired and motivated. to continue to
- 0:24put one foot in front of the other and move forward.
- 0:26And they too would say along with us, we get
- 0:29to do this in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. It's Wednesday,
- 0:34October 14th, 2026. We get to do this. This is
- 0:38episode number 54. And a big hello and hallelujah.
- 0:59You're getting the hallelujah down, brother.
- 1:01Getting the hallelujahs in there. No one does
- 1:02that anymore. Just a hallelujah. A hallelujah.
- 1:05Are you hearkening back to your father or your
- 1:07grandfather? My grandfather. Grandfather. Yeho
- 1:09Yeho is what he'd say. He'd do hallelujah, yeho,
- 1:12yeho. Wow. Hello and yeho, yeho. Get to nation
- 1:15all the believers and the Christ curious it is.
- 1:18Your buddies, Adam and Jimmy here with We Get
- 1:21To Do This. How you doing, brother? Man, I am
- 1:24doing so good. So I drank an energy drink before
- 1:27we got here. So I'm feeling a little jittery,
- 1:31but in a good way. My face is flushed. This is
- 1:34what I drink before I go work out. It's called
- 1:36C4. And it, man, it is like intense. C4? C4.
- 1:40It sounds like, you know, I know, right? It's
- 1:42like something explosive. It does sound that.
- 1:45Well, it is. I mean, it's probably, who knows?
- 1:47I haven't looked at the ingredients, so I probably
- 1:49shouldn't, but. We're here to help everybody
- 1:51get through all the craziness of the week. There's
- 1:54so much going on. New term madness. Full swing.
- 1:57I got to start, though, with something else.
- 1:59I was listening to Joe Rogan and he, you know,
- 2:03with Joe Rogan is usually whoever the guest is,
- 2:05you're going to listen. And I was driving to
- 2:07pick up Tina yesterday at San Antonio. She came
- 2:09back from a lovely visit with her mom and her
- 2:12sisters and her daughter in Chicago and Chuck
- 2:15Laurie, who I don't know him. I know he's very
- 2:20opinionated. If you've ever seen the end of his.
- 2:23television shows. He was the sitcom king of the
- 2:2680s and 90s, Roseanne, Two and a Half Men, Big
- 2:31Bang Theory. The list goes on and on and on with
- 2:34this guy has done. He sometimes had this big
- 2:38card and it would be at the very end of the credits.
- 2:43You'd have to record it and pause it to read
- 2:45it. And it was always politically motivated.
- 2:49And he actually just won an award. Uh, and he
- 2:53was just cussing on president Trump and you know,
- 2:56for this very Hollywood audience. Um, but I'm
- 3:00listening to him talk with Joe Rogan. He has
- 3:02a book out about his, he was in Scientology for
- 3:0510 years and you know, which he got out of all
- 3:09kinds of stuff. And, and I'm listening to it
- 3:11and like, you know, I kind of got some respect
- 3:13for what this guy has done. You know, it's just
- 3:15talking about, you know, his career, which is
- 3:1740, 50 years. And he also was funny because,
- 3:21um, They were talking about why Actors often
- 3:25go off the rails. They finally get what they
- 3:27especially comics, you know, like I got my own
- 3:30sitcom I'm successful I got lots of money and
- 3:32then you know drugs drink gambling whatever And
- 3:37he said, you know, that's because you can't satisfy
- 3:39They think that the money and the fame the success
- 3:42will satisfy what they really crave And he says
- 3:44not that you need to have you need to find it
- 3:46from not from this world and then he said I know
- 3:49and he says I'm probably gonna get hammered for
- 3:53saying this, but you need some kind of spirituality.
- 3:55And Joe says, why do you say that? What are you
- 3:58afraid of? Because you live in Hollywood, is
- 4:00that why? And Joe was like spot on. Now Chuck
- 4:05Lorre didn't actually say, I believe in God,
- 4:07but everything, because I think he's still afraid
- 4:09to fully decloak, but to me it was a decloaking
- 4:12moment. I was, I'm like, oh, okay. And that...
- 4:16Perhaps all this performative stuff that he's
- 4:18doing is just expected in these Hollywood moments.
- 4:22And that's just a basis because I was prepared
- 4:25to think this guy is exactly the horrible douche
- 4:27that I thought he was. But then at a certain
- 4:31point, he's talking about the success of sitcoms.
- 4:35And he said, Yeah, it's a story, and you know,
- 4:38we're talking sitcoms. It's kind of a genre that's
- 4:40almost gone away. Multi -camera, on stage, before
- 4:43a live studio audience. Yeah, yeah, I loved it.
- 4:46It's almost gone. Which I think is actually probably
- 4:50a mistake. I mean, I think you could still be
- 4:51very successful with that format, but for whatever
- 4:54reason, television decided to go a different
- 4:56way. People don't even know what NBC is anymore.
- 4:58You know, what? Is it network? What? Streaming.
- 5:00It's just streaming, yeah. He said, it wasn't
- 5:03really the stories. Yes, it was the characters,
- 5:06but he said people felt like they were part of
- 5:09that family. And it was the relationship between
- 5:13the characters, knowing kind of how one would
- 5:16respond and the other one would play into that.
- 5:19That's the success. And if you don't have that
- 5:22magic that happens, it'll never happen. And this
- 5:25is why it's also very difficult to, like on the
- 5:28Cosby show, they replaced Aunt Viv. And it hurt
- 5:33the show. It was difficult. People were like,
- 5:36this is not the same lady. So this kind of happened
- 5:39to me in July of this year when my partner on
- 5:42No Agenda passed. John passed very slowly. Since
- 5:46he had his heart event in, I think, end of February,
- 5:49beginning of March, and then he had double bypass
- 5:52and it took him a long time to... all things
- 5:55considered, not a long time, but he came back,
- 5:58he was strong again, then boom, lights out, which
- 6:01is just like, whoa, hold on a sec. And so right
- 6:05away, 50 % of the on -air staff was gone. This
- 6:09is a big show, big production. Houston, we have
- 6:13a problem. And as I was trying to sort through
- 6:16this, You recognize or I recognize now how all
- 6:22the comments that people will send in, I've had
- 6:25multiple co -guest hosts, Dana Bernetti, Jason
- 6:28Calacanis, Andrew Horowitz, Rob Dew, and even
- 6:33our own Matt Long. And people are feeding back
- 6:37and it's gonna be... Very divisive, you know,
- 6:41but there'll be people say I love it when Horowitz
- 6:44is on I hated that Jay Kyle is the best. This
- 6:47is the guy for you And I realized that what they're
- 6:50not talking about is what we're actually doing.
- 6:52Yeah about media deconstruction They're talking
- 6:54about a relationship that they want to be a part
- 6:57of and they want to hear which is what you and
- 6:59I have community we had this relationship years
- 7:02before we started the podcast so I realized that
- 7:08when John died, the show basically died. What
- 7:13that was, it will never ever be. And what do
- 7:17I do with that? And now I kind of have to go
- 7:20back a year and a half when I was already feeling
- 7:24moved. Probably go back even further, three years.
- 7:29It's been three and a half years. Was that when
- 7:30I got baptized? About 23 and a half. When I was
- 7:34saved, you know, Jesus Christ came, he got me,
- 7:36he said, all right, here you are. So I was thinking
- 7:39about, I've been thinking about this lots of
- 7:42conversation with Tina. Before John ever had
- 7:44his event, we were talking about, hey, I feel
- 7:48that I'm being pulled towards kingdom work. And,
- 7:51you know, we just celebrated two years with Godcaster.
- 7:56You and I have been doing this show for over
- 7:58a year. and I got a book, there's all kinds of
- 8:02other things, but the Kingdom work is really
- 8:04where I feel I want to go. Moreover, I'm 62,
- 8:08I feel pretty good, I feel young, but what am
- 8:12I going to do with the rest of my life? Am I
- 8:15going to just do stuff? What's the mission? Well,
- 8:19the mission is the co -mission. I can read the
- 8:21Bible, I see what I'm supposed to do, and I want
- 8:24to do that. I see how it's working with this
- 8:26show, I see how it's working with Godcaster.
- 8:28But here's where I was living and this is the
- 8:31here's Adams parable the tale of four pairs of
- 8:35glasses Been thinking about this one. This is
- 8:38fresh for me Butter it up butter up. So when
- 8:44I was 19 and I got this all of a sudden I was
- 8:48on television I got this gig and it was amazing.
- 8:52You know, I moved out of the house I actually
- 8:55had an ultimatum from my parents. I dropped out
- 8:57of college. You got one month to go back to school,
- 9:00be paying us rent or you're out. And so I didn't
- 9:04have to pay him rent because I was paying my
- 9:05own rent in my own pad in Amsterdam. And I was
- 9:09out and I was good. It was government controlled
- 9:12airwaves. So for all intents and purposes, I
- 9:14was a government employee with a government employee
- 9:17salary. So you're on television, you're super
- 9:19famous, but you're not living like a superstar.
- 9:23However, We would allow to do commercial work
- 9:27on the side and so I was doing this thing called
- 9:29drive -in shows and And so you would go to one
- 9:32of the many bars or cafes or dance halls around
- 9:36the country I had a radio show on Friday night.
- 9:38So Saturday and Sunday we go out and you can
- 9:42make pretty decent money. I mean, I had it rigged,
- 9:44man. I had a limo. I had a guy. It was a 59 Fleetwood
- 9:50hearse. It was a hearse. It was a follow card,
- 9:54not the hearse itself, but for the grieving families.
- 9:57And I had Mario and he would drive and I had
- 10:01a DJ who would be there and he'd be my opening
- 10:03act for the first hour or whatever. It was fantastic.
- 10:07But before I had all that set up, I was driving
- 10:09myself and I realized, I'm like, Because, you
- 10:12know, driving at night and to all these, we didn't
- 10:14have GPS people. This is crazy. We had a map.
- 10:17You had to look at road signs. You couldn't miss,
- 10:19you know, the sign. And sometimes they weren't
- 10:22that clear and the roads weren't lit that well.
- 10:25And I'm like, holy cow, I can't see very well.
- 10:29And I'm squinting, you know, like I'm seeing
- 10:31all the letters kind of with stars on them. And
- 10:34so I go get my eyes checked. Yeah, you need glasses.
- 10:37And like, I wonder if this explains some of my
- 10:39academic career because I really wasn't, I was
- 10:43nearsighted and I really couldn't see very well
- 10:45in the distance and I had no idea. So I got glasses
- 10:49and like, oh, well that was like, this is fantastic.
- 10:52This is really good. I can see. Moving forward.
- 10:58Eventually, MTV calls me. Four years later, I
- 11:01go to MTV. I never really had to use teleprompter
- 11:04because I was only doing one TV show. I was so
- 11:07rehearsed. I knew all my lines. I knew what to
- 11:09say. I could ad lib. I didn't need a teleprompter.
- 11:12But at MTV, it was high output, things on the
- 11:16fly, even live shows. You relied on IFB, the
- 11:19thing in your ear, people talking to you, the
- 11:22control room, which I can multitask really well
- 11:24that way. And also what's on the prompter and
- 11:26things would change. And so I had to be able
- 11:28to see it. And guess what? I needed my glasses.
- 11:30Well, I'm like, something about the heavy metal
- 11:34long hair and everything and the glasses just
- 11:37didn't look right. So I got contacts. And I wore
- 11:40contacts for years and years and years and years
- 11:44until 2006. And so we've gone now from glasses
- 11:49to contacts. In 2006, I go for my helicopter
- 11:52pilot's license. I got that before I got my fixed
- 11:55wing. And as a part of that, you have to do five
- 11:59hours of night flying, which in the helicopter
- 12:02is pretty cool. And so we're going to go land
- 12:05at the airport. I actually took off from my backyard.
- 12:08Oh, I had it said. Passed to Jimmy back in the
- 12:10day. And we're landing at the airport. I'm like,
- 12:14I can't see very well. And I realized that the
- 12:19contacts are just not giving me the same clarity
- 12:24or definition of glasses. So from that point
- 12:27on, I said, why would I deprive myself of seeing
- 12:32the world the best I can out of vanity? So I
- 12:36had all kinds of different, I had rose -tinted
- 12:38glasses, I had lots of glasses, but I was wearing
- 12:41glasses. And so, I was really seeing the world
- 12:44in a much higher definition. It was kind of shocking,
- 12:48actually. And so I would fly with two pairs of
- 12:50glasses in case I lost one. If you're flying
- 12:52alone and you lose one, like, what am I going
- 12:54to do? And not groveling around the floor of
- 12:57the cockpit. So, you know, no agenda started
- 13:00in 2007, end of 2007, 2008. And pretty quickly,
- 13:04I got to the next pair of glasses, which is the
- 13:07ones we discussed on the previous episode, which
- 13:09is the Roddy Piper, they live, you know, you
- 13:12put the glasses on, you can see the elites, you
- 13:14can see the propaganda, you can see all that.
- 13:17And it made so much sense. And funny enough,
- 13:20in many ways, it felt like the world was anything
- 13:22that was You were told it was the reverse, and
- 13:25that was probably the right direction. If the
- 13:27government says go right, you probably want to
- 13:29look at the left hand. That's probably where
- 13:31you want to go. And so I viewed everything, primarily
- 13:35media, through those glasses, through that lens.
- 13:39But then I got saved. And something happened.
- 13:44This is probably not a foreign topic to people
- 13:48who have been saved. And you start to see, well,
- 13:50we call it the world through the biblical worldview
- 13:54or through a biblical lens, which as a non -believer,
- 13:58even to many believers, I still think just sounds
- 14:00like a, it's almost like a throwaway line. But
- 14:03I really started to understand what that meant.
- 14:07And so the, what I realized is that I was in
- 14:12a position that goes back to a story. I think
- 14:15my dad told me the story. It might've been my
- 14:18mom, but I think it was my, and it was just an
- 14:20off the cuff thing. And it actually hit me the
- 14:21other day. about this experiment that was done
- 14:24by a psychologist in 1896 named George Stratton
- 14:29and was later replicated. It's been replicated
- 14:32several times. So back in the, I think, 69, maybe
- 14:36it was 96, some Austrian scientists did it again.
- 14:39It was well documented where they had made a
- 14:43pair of glasses that when you put the glasses
- 14:46on, the world was literally upside down. And
- 14:50the experiment was to see how you could function.
- 14:53If what would your brain do if you see the world
- 14:56upside down? Well, predictably, you know, people
- 14:59are trying to pour a glass and they poured on
- 15:02the wrong side of the table. They try to grab
- 15:04something. They're going in the wrong direction.
- 15:06You know, there's a there's a guy, you know,
- 15:08he's like trying to sword fight him and the guy
- 15:10goes for his chest and he's, you know, in the
- 15:12wrong area. So it completely uncoordinated. But
- 15:17after a few days of just keeping these glasses
- 15:20on, they could function perfectly normally, even
- 15:24with the upside down view. And then when you
- 15:28took the glasses off, it would take a couple
- 15:29days. Now, you take the glasses off, it would
- 15:32take maybe a few hours and everything would be
- 15:34back to normal. And so the big takeaway from
- 15:38this experiment wasn't that your brain necessarily
- 15:43translates everything to right side up. Your
- 15:46brain helps you and allows you to function in
- 15:50that upside down world and this is where I was
- 15:53living I Was perfectly able to function in this
- 15:58world that I had glasses on so I'd sit down for
- 16:01no agenda The the upside down glasses go on I
- 16:05can function no problem, but I know it wasn't
- 16:07true My brain wasn't deceiving me and this is
- 16:11the conclusion that I came to about a year and
- 16:14a half ago not with this exact metaphor, but
- 16:17that, no, no, I see things differently and I
- 16:21can no longer be in this world when I want to
- 16:26talk about the world that I actually see. There's
- 16:29not a lot of dissimilarities between the two,
- 16:32but I function differently. And this is the thing,
- 16:35the training of almost 19 years at the end of
- 16:38this month, the minute I'm in that seat for that
- 16:43podcast, It's like putting the glasses on and
- 16:46I don't like who I am because it's not true.
- 16:49I still think I'm funny. I'm hilarious in fact,
- 16:52but it's not me. I'm not functioning the way
- 16:55I know I can function because that's what I have
- 16:58here on this show with you. And it's different.
- 17:02And what has been so encouraging is all these
- 17:05people who I know from no agenda who have now
- 17:09started to tune in to we get to do this and like,
- 17:11Man, I love the show. I love what's going on
- 17:14here And they're also supporting us and just
- 17:17you know with their time their talent and their
- 17:18treasure that I made a decision a while back
- 17:24to stop doing no agenda because Going back to
- 17:29what I said earlier. I need to do kingdom work.
- 17:31This is this is this is what I want I want to
- 17:34finish strong I don't want to waste any time
- 17:38the only thing that was holding me back, quite
- 17:40honestly, was a great cash flow over at No Agenda.
- 17:44So I decided cash flow to calling, but that doesn't
- 17:48even matter. I want to do this work and I'm getting
- 17:52confirmation everywhere that this is the right
- 17:54direction. So for people who are listening to
- 17:57this who are familiar with No Agenda, tomorrow
- 17:59I will... hopefully be able to explain more.
- 18:02You know, a separation is always kind of complicated.
- 18:05There's business and all kinds of entanglements
- 18:07that have to be worked out, but Noah Jenner celebrates
- 18:10its 19th anniversary this month. Then the show
- 18:13after that, the 29th, will be my last. And I
- 18:17so look forward to being here with you, growing
- 18:20Get2Nation, expanding our show, expanding our
- 18:24reach, helping people. You know, we kind of started
- 18:26up started off, again, just for the people in
- 18:28our church who listen, but it's so much bigger
- 18:31than that. So, the No Agenda family will hear
- 18:36about that from me tomorrow, and I'll give a
- 18:38little more detailed explanation where we're
- 18:41going. But I just got to tell you, thank you
- 18:43for your encouragement. I thank Tina for her
- 18:45encouragement, and Dame Annette as well, and
- 18:48other people who have just said, you should just
- 18:50go ahead and just do this. So, I'm not exactly
- 18:53sure what's going to happen with No Agenda. I
- 18:55hope that it can continue in some form because
- 18:58I think the format's good and the right team
- 19:01would be able to do something with it. But I'm
- 19:04getting dizzy from those glasses. And the only
- 19:07thing between where I was and where I am is Jesus
- 19:10Christ. And that's why I'm here today. So just
- 19:13wanted to get that off my chest. As you know,
- 19:16it's been weighing on me for a while. Yeah, it
- 19:18has. I so appreciate you sharing that. And I
- 19:21love the clarity that that you shared with this
- 19:24guy, Stratton, George Stratton. Yeah, that's
- 19:28fantastic. I actually pulled it up while you
- 19:29were talking. Fascinating experiment, by the
- 19:32way. But that makes total sense to me. There's
- 19:36seasons, right, to things? Yes. And seasons change.
- 19:40I mean, God actually designed it. We tend to
- 19:42think in four seasons, right? Spring, summer,
- 19:46winter, fall. All you got to do is call. I know
- 19:50there's a million songs by the way. I like actually
- 19:54Ecclesiastes kind of puts it into a form that
- 19:58I appreciate. I want to pull this scripture up
- 20:00because I think it clarifies and it does this
- 20:05from a, to use that word, biblical lens. Ecclesiastes
- 20:093, chapter 1, to everything there is a season,
- 20:14a time for every purpose under heaven. The hard
- 20:17part about seasons, the good part is the startup
- 20:20in the middle. You're going, right? You're on
- 20:23your game. Things are clicking. You're running
- 20:25on all eight cylinders. Things are happening.
- 20:29But the interesting thing about any season is
- 20:31there's a beginning, middle, end. I've had to
- 20:34walk with people through this so many different
- 20:36times. I had a guy who was an elder in a church
- 20:39that I was serving. It was obvious that his season
- 20:43had ended and he was trying to hang on. Yeah.
- 20:46And I had to tell him, and it was a hard conversation
- 20:49to say, man, I love you, but there's a beginning,
- 20:52middle, end to every season. And I'm just going
- 20:54to be honest with you and transparent. You're
- 20:57at the end of yours. This is the end of the season.
- 21:00He knew it. I knew it. Everybody around us knew
- 21:02it. But he was hanging on, maybe out of nobility,
- 21:06just trying to do the noble thing or what he
- 21:09thought was the right thing or maybe didn't want
- 21:10to quit and give up. But at the end of the day,
- 21:13everything we do has a beginning, middle, and
- 21:15throughout life. And these seasons come and go.
- 21:18You know, we're stepping into the fall, right?
- 21:20Yeah. Supposedly. I mean, not yet in Texas. 92,
- 21:23but OK. 92 today. But it's been nice in the morning.
- 21:25We've had cool nights and cool mornings. So there's
- 21:28some change in the air. Winds are picking up,
- 21:31which I noticed the last few days. We've got
- 21:33a front coming in this Friday. It's going to
- 21:36cool down and some rain and whatnot. So we're
- 21:39seeing the changing of a season. The changing
- 21:41of seasons can be exciting, or it can be hard,
- 21:45or it can be both at the same time. We've all
- 21:49experienced this. I actually wrote a DG called
- 21:53The Winds of Change. You mind if I share that
- 21:56now? Please do. We'll do this up front. It's
- 21:59going off of this Ecclesiastes verse, to everything
- 22:02there is a season, a time for every purpose under
- 22:06heaven. I want you all to think about that as
- 22:08you're just processing what what Adam shared
- 22:11about to everything there's a season, everything.
- 22:15Everything. And a time for every purpose under
- 22:18the sun. So there's timing, the timing of God.
- 22:22And we were just joking, it's never ours. No,
- 22:25it's so right. It's always His. And as followers
- 22:28of Jesus, we submit to that willingly. We submit
- 22:32our will to it. So the Daily Grind title, The
- 22:35Winds of Change, Fall is upon us, temperatures
- 22:38are dropping, leaves are changing, and the winds
- 22:40are shifting. Funny, we embrace changing seasons
- 22:43in nature, but often resist them in life. However,
- 22:47you are not left on your own. God will work with
- 22:51you into the next season and order your steps
- 22:54as you go. Seasons come and go. Some will be
- 22:58difficult and some glorious. However, we have
- 23:01a helper. the Holy Spirit who will lead the way.
- 23:04And then just always do it today, a little application
- 23:07thing. Recognize the season you're in. Release
- 23:11the past and step into God's new season for you.
- 23:15We'll finish today with a prayer, but this is
- 23:17so important to recognize and be aware of the
- 23:21season you're in. First Chronicles chapter 12
- 23:26verse 32 is an interesting verse talking about
- 23:29this group of guys called the sons of Issachar.
- 23:32Oh, yeah. Yeah. Like a hundred guys or we don't
- 23:35even know a small group. Compared to David's
- 23:38mighty men and some of the tribes and groups
- 23:40and clans that were part of his mighty men, you
- 23:43know, they were larger groups. This was one of
- 23:45the smallest, but they had something the others
- 23:48didn't. And David recognized this. and he recognized
- 23:52the wisdom they carried. And it says this, the
- 23:55sons of Issachar understood the times and knew
- 23:59what to do. So they were able to discern, they
- 24:02were able to interpret the signs of the times
- 24:05and know when a season was changing or when there
- 24:08was a shift. And so we want to discern, this
- 24:11is what you're doing right now. We want to discern
- 24:14what God is doing now. Yeah, and it may not be
- 24:18what he was doing five years ago or six or ten
- 24:20whatever it it changes and When we understand
- 24:25that it's not such a shock to our system if we
- 24:28don't know that it is a shock to our system and
- 24:31that's a good point because Well, first of all,
- 24:34this has been a long time coming and I would
- 24:36also say that I feel I've always felt an obligation
- 24:39to this family, the No Agenda family. I love
- 24:43the No Agenda Nation. I know thousands of people
- 24:45by name, by their email address, by their No
- 24:48Agenda name. Their titles. Their titles. And
- 24:52I know there's going to be sadness and disappointment,
- 24:55and you never want to do that. But it's not like
- 24:59I'm disappearing from the face of the earth.
- 25:01But this season, oh man, now I feel bad. I forgot
- 25:05who sent me this book. I thought I was prepared
- 25:07for today's show. I left it at home. One of our
- 25:12listeners sent me this book. It was called Transition.
- 25:17And I think it's a well -known book. And it's
- 25:21not necessarily a scriptural or biblical book.
- 25:28It's a very thin book. Why did he send that to
- 25:31me? Why did he send that to me? Well, I know,
- 25:34of course. And I'm reading it and the thing that
- 25:38keeps coming back is there's no beginning without
- 25:41an end. You've got to end something to really
- 25:45start something new. And that's essentially the
- 25:48season. And seasons can... Like we're having
- 25:50right now, bleed over a little bit. You know,
- 25:52it's cool in the mornings and it's hot and it's
- 25:53cold in the evening. It's both. But it'll be
- 25:55one of these days we'll wake up like it didn't
- 25:57get warm this afternoon. It'll just be chilly.
- 26:00Yeah. I want to say something about this too,
- 26:02because I don't want people to misunderstand
- 26:04and think, Oh, Pastor Jimmy has stolen Adam from
- 26:08No Agenda. Oh, yeah. He put a hook around my
- 26:11neck and just dragged me out there. No, no, no.
- 26:14Listen, we've never had this conversation to
- 26:17this degree. And I've done that on purpose, by
- 26:19the way, because I've never won a course, somebody
- 26:23who's trying to follow God, someone who's trying
- 26:26to listen, trying to discern the times. And so
- 26:29I've not given you a lot of feedback on this.
- 26:32I don't know if you noticed it or not. I haven't.
- 26:34I haven't been very verbal about this. I knew
- 26:36exactly what you were doing. I'm trusting Jesus
- 26:40in you and I'm trusting you to follow Jesus in
- 26:44you, not Jesus in me. And so I've done that on
- 26:47purpose because I feel like you've always, even
- 26:50when I met you before you became a Christ follower,
- 26:54I thought, man, this guy's got a solid head on
- 26:57his shoulders. I mean, he's sound, he's grounded.
- 27:01I knew that before you ever leaned when I was
- 27:04still cussing like a truck driver. Sorry, truck
- 27:07drivers. Not all truck drivers cuss. Not all
- 27:09truck drivers cuss. I would just laugh inside.
- 27:12Remember I told you, as a UBU, and I'll be me,
- 27:14we'll be best friends. That's really how it all
- 27:17started. That's right. But we discern what God's
- 27:19doing now, and we recognize the prompting and
- 27:21direction of the Holy Spirit. I just jotted some
- 27:23notes down, just knowing where we're going in
- 27:25this direction. This is so important to recognize
- 27:28the prompting and direction of the Holy Spirit.
- 27:30And if you think about the actual word for spirit,
- 27:33the word pneumatos and that is the word we get
- 27:36pneumatic drill. It's wind. Oh, there's your
- 27:40winds of change. It's the wind. That's why I
- 27:42titled this little piece, the winds of change.
- 27:46It's percolating in me because the wind, the
- 27:50Holy Spirit blows and even Jesus told, talking
- 27:53about the Holy Spirit said, So the wind blows
- 27:55and you don't know where it comes from, but you
- 27:58know the effects of it because it moves the trees
- 28:00and it moves things. So you know that and that's
- 28:03how you recognize. So at the end of the day,
- 28:06we have to discern the movement of the spirit,
- 28:09not just our circumstances, because it's easy
- 28:12to sometimes just be moved by circumstances.
- 28:15But anyone who's been around the block a couple
- 28:17of times knows that circumstances will always
- 28:22conflict, change, realign, conflict, change again.
- 28:26I mean, it's going to happen. That's an ongoing
- 28:27process. It's actually listening to the prompting
- 28:31of the Spirit and being sensitive to that and
- 28:34being not just Spirit -filled, but Spirit -led.
- 28:37You know, it's been really hard though, and I
- 28:39really tried this. Now, when John was still alive,
- 28:43I knew his stance on my faith, and I could push
- 28:47to a certain limit. And when I say push, I just
- 28:49say something. And he would, it gets to the point
- 28:54where we'd be like, oh brother, here we go. And
- 28:56they're like, okay, well the conversation's kind
- 28:58of over at that point. But there's something
- 29:02about just doing the show, even though I'm in
- 29:05full control, I can't be myself. I can't quite
- 29:09explain what that is, but it's like - No, I think
- 29:11you just said it. But I've kind of given up on
- 29:14trying to figure out why it's something about
- 29:16the format, the content, just what it is. that
- 29:20just makes me be somewhat mocking, because that's
- 29:24always been the format. I've been doing this
- 29:26for two decades. And so I sit there, I'm like,
- 29:28I don't want to mock, but then it happens. Let
- 29:31me ask you a question. Is that why you like doing
- 29:34the show here in this studio? Do you think there's
- 29:37something to that? Oh, that's an interesting
- 29:40question. Because you've always been averse to
- 29:43doing it in your studio. Oh, no. Didn't know
- 29:47if there was anything like when you sit in that
- 29:49seat you feel like you slip into that's a very
- 29:52good point subconsciously I don't know I need
- 29:54to contemplate that. I think there's a very psychologist
- 29:57over here. Very very well done. Mr. Freud It's
- 30:01small my mom's fault. I Think there I think that
- 30:07has a very distinct I mean we first started talking
- 30:09about this. Yeah, you said very emphatically
- 30:11I want to do this. I want to do it at the bridge
- 30:13studio. Yeah, I want to do it there, huh? And
- 30:16so this has become our space. Yes. I mean, I
- 30:19don't mind when we do it on remote. I mean, that
- 30:21works fine. But yes, I think that that is a part
- 30:24of it. It's odd. It's like you sit in an old
- 30:28car and you drive it a certain way. You get in
- 30:31a new car, you're going to drive that car differently.
- 30:33Maybe more aggressively, maybe exactly the opposite.
- 30:37I'm also a little more aggressive. But yeah,
- 30:41it's like, yes. The answer is yes, I hadn't really
- 30:44thought about that, but the surrounding is critical.
- 30:47You know, if we don't have this film light over
- 30:51us and the rest of the room dark, it's not the
- 30:53same. I agree. Yes, so that is... Wow. Thank
- 30:57you for bringing that up. That is a good point.
- 30:59We can still, when we need to... We can still
- 31:02handle remotes in different studios. Oh, absolutely.
- 31:04And we will, because we both travel. Yeah, there
- 31:07is something about this. And it's also in God's
- 31:10house. I mean, we're here in the church. I know.
- 31:11I love being here. I'm a church nerd, so I don't
- 31:15see this as my place of work. I see it as I get
- 31:17to be here. I really do. When I walk in the building,
- 31:20I don't feel like... I've got to go to my office.
- 31:22I got to go to a staff meeting. I got to do a
- 31:24board meeting. Very thankful. So it is a, it
- 31:29is a, I told you yesterday you were, you were
- 31:32stuck for a little bit. waiting on Jonah to show
- 31:34up. He was a little late and you were kind of
- 31:36wandering around the worship center with just
- 31:40the emergency lights on, so it's real chill.
- 31:42I was actually sitting on the front row in the
- 31:45worship center. Isn't that a great feeling to
- 31:46be in that space when nothing's happening? I
- 31:50love it. I'm just looking at this little red
- 31:51light from some of the equipment on, but there's
- 31:54not even a hum. Everything is quiet. I would
- 31:57just sit in there like... Yeah, this is nice.
- 32:00I texted you like, I'm just waiting for Jonah
- 32:02here. This is really nice. You know what I wrote
- 32:04back to you? Because this is the feeling I get
- 32:07when I'm in there. I pause and I start thinking
- 32:10about all the lives that have been impacted and
- 32:13changed in that space. Wow. Including mine. And
- 32:15that's why I wrote back, holy place. It's a holy
- 32:17ground. It is. And so when nobody's here, I like
- 32:22to walk around in there and pray. Yeah. And with
- 32:25nobody in the, nobody in the place. I did have
- 32:27time for a prayer while I was there. Beautiful.
- 32:28Just a thank you prayer. Like Lord, thank you
- 32:31for just, that can be here. Yeah. So there is
- 32:34something about space and place, but I, and I
- 32:36want to get back to this cause, cause the first
- 32:38thing was you got to recognize the season you're
- 32:40in and that's, you've been recognizing this for
- 32:43a long time. You've brought this up many times,
- 32:46but yet you weren't in a hurry. You, I love that
- 32:48you weren't like trying to just bail or trying
- 32:51to quit. No. You were like, you just know, You
- 32:54could sit and I remember you'd say things, gosh,
- 32:56a couple of years ago. There's a it's changing.
- 32:59I can sense a change. Yeah. And also before you
- 33:03go ahead. It's good. So I wanted to bring this
- 33:06up with John and talk about some form of longer
- 33:09transition. And when he got his heart. his double
- 33:13bypass, like, well, this is not the time to bring
- 33:16this up. And right as he, I talk about it with
- 33:20Tina, I'm pretty sure we discussed it if we went
- 33:22out to one of our dinners with the four of us.
- 33:26And he was back, he was strong, he was moving
- 33:29back into his house and like, okay, it's gonna
- 33:31be time soon to bring it up again. And then,
- 33:34you know, like God had a different plan. And
- 33:37so, which I'm also not taking just at face value.
- 33:41Right, right. Exactly. So recognize the season.
- 33:45You've been doing this for a long time. And I
- 33:48want people to understand too, we didn't start
- 33:50that show because of that. No, no, no. You and
- 33:52I had been talking about for years doing this
- 33:55show. Oh yeah, for years. So it wasn't like there
- 33:57was a strategy of creating another space for
- 34:00you to jump off to. Nope. We just look at it
- 34:03as God set this up, not us. I mean, we just finally
- 34:06knew it was time to hit the button. Absolutely.
- 34:08But that's the same way I've started, the same
- 34:11way John and I started. We were talking for months
- 34:14and months and months. We should probably record
- 34:16this. You and I have had these exact conversations,
- 34:20either at the kitchen table or your house or
- 34:22in a restaurant. Look, the first thing I said
- 34:26to you was, Pastor Jimmy, I love your show. That
- 34:29was the first thing that came out of my mouth
- 34:31when I met you. So Tina frog your arms. You said
- 34:36that. Oh man. I'm sorry. No, this is good. Cause
- 34:41I'm going down what you're doing here. You recognize
- 34:43the season. The second piece of that is you have
- 34:46to release the old season. This is where it gets
- 34:49hard. Yeah. Because no matter what we're talking
- 34:53about podcast, a job, a city, you know, whatever
- 34:57that means there's people attached to that. and
- 35:00the ripple effect is going to impact people or
- 35:03affect them. Maybe impact's a strong word, but
- 35:05it's going to affect people. And because we're
- 35:08good -hearted and we don't want anyone to suffer,
- 35:11especially at any decision we make, it's a little
- 35:14harder sometimes to release the old season. Isaiah
- 35:1843, 19 talks about where God says, behold, I
- 35:22am doing a new thing. He's talking about this
- 35:25new thing, a new season, a new beginning. So
- 35:28don't let yesterday's victories or disappointments
- 35:31hold you back because it's easy to look back
- 35:33and go, man, that was so good. I want to hang
- 35:37on to that a little bit longer. You know, timing
- 35:39is the biggest thing when you're following God.
- 35:43We always want it now. We're conditioned. Yeah.
- 35:47To getting things quick. Click, click, click.
- 35:50Where's my result? I know. I mean, if I have
- 35:53to wait on my grokbot for more than 10 seconds,
- 35:55I'm like, what is up with this data center, man?
- 35:59They need to build, they got to get those things
- 36:01coming. Build it here. Yeah, I need one closer.
- 36:03I don't know where this is going to. I'm just
- 36:06getting fidgety. It's crazy because we're trained
- 36:08to that, right? And then we're told, walking
- 36:11with God, wait upon the Lord. Like what? Wait?
- 36:14We don't wait for anything. So, surrender what
- 36:20was to embrace what's next. And that surrendering
- 36:24isn't a mean or brutal thing. Is that in the
- 36:26scripture? Surrender what was? No, no, that's
- 36:29just something I was thinking this through yesterday.
- 36:32So, don't let yesterday keep you from following
- 36:34the Spirit today. I've been watching you for
- 36:37years do this. I saw you do this with the Godcaster.
- 36:41It didn't happen overnight. You start getting
- 36:43downloads when you're walking Phoebe, because
- 36:44you're telling me, I'm getting downloads with
- 36:46Thone Central walking Phoebe. It took two years
- 36:49until things really started to crank up. It was
- 36:50a conversation for a long time before you ever
- 36:53really stepped into it, and then it began to
- 36:55coalesce, and then it happened fast. But then
- 36:58now it's the journey. You don't want to let what's
- 37:02happened in the past keep you from following
- 37:04and stepping into what's happening now. I think
- 37:07the Lord's made this abundantly clear that you're
- 37:13right in sync. You're right in step. Then the
- 37:16last R is respond to the new season. This is
- 37:19where we embrace what's new. Romans 8, 14. For
- 37:23as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these
- 37:26are the sons of God." And it's that sense of
- 37:29getting in lockstep with him. I always tell the
- 37:32story of me following my dad out to the pasture.
- 37:34And it was on this very narrow trail that had
- 37:38a ditch on each side. And if you stepped off
- 37:41to either side, I mean, you're a little kid.
- 37:44But it was snowing and I remember following my
- 37:47dad and he said, just step in my footsteps. So
- 37:50I just like following a map. You know, I just,
- 37:53one step after another, you know, stretching
- 37:54out as much as I could. And I always think about
- 37:58being in lockstep with the Lord like that. Just
- 38:01step where He steps. And that means you go at
- 38:04His pace, not yours. And so... This has been
- 38:10one of the first times where I've really, with
- 38:13my prayer, I've been like, Lord, tell me, what
- 38:17should I do? Not like, you know, If you're listening,
- 38:21Lord, flicker the lights. That doesn't tend to
- 38:24work very well, but He will do things and He
- 38:28will put things on your heart. And it's been
- 38:31so abundantly clear and with confirmation everywhere.
- 38:35And it's easy to see confirmation of things with
- 38:37some things like, no, man, this is a very, very
- 38:41clear sign. And I've already surrendered to God
- 38:44that I know that He's in control. me surrendering
- 38:50completely. All right, let's go. I was listening
- 38:55to, you know, one of the things I really like
- 38:58about our friendship is we both have things that
- 39:01the other doesn't know or isn't knowledgeable
- 39:04about. And you are, in a way, a classicist, a
- 39:07linguist. You know a lot about certainly the
- 39:09classic languages and the etymology of words.
- 39:13And I've always been interested in that. I have
- 39:15kind of this weird uh, interest in legal language
- 39:19too. And so it's always fun to see what, what
- 39:21does this exactly mean? I was listening to Victor
- 39:24Davis Hanson. And I don't tip, you know, it's
- 39:29a little slow for me. I don't remember why I
- 39:30was listed. The title of the podcast must've
- 39:33been interesting. And he said, and he was talking
- 39:36about, uh, some other politician and talking
- 39:40about that person being a classicist and and
- 39:43that he was really into etymology and all of
- 39:47his studies. He has a PhD in some study. And
- 39:51he said, the etymology of the word enthusiastic,
- 39:55which I am, enthusiastic, and I'm gonna take
- 39:58his word for it, means in theos. So you're in
- 40:01God. So God is like - I actually knew that one.
- 40:05And so I was like, yeah, that's me. I'm excited
- 40:08about what's, and this was just the other day.
- 40:10I'm excited about what's happening. I am in theos.
- 40:13I am enthusiastic. You're energized in it. Yes.
- 40:16And I see it because I walk with you every day.
- 40:19So I see the lift. I see the I see the wind under,
- 40:23you know, the wind beneath my wings. Right. Yeah,
- 40:26man. That lift creates lift as you get momentum
- 40:28and speed and all of that. So I see the lift
- 40:32under your wings. Man, when you when you first
- 40:34start talking about Godcaster. I saw an energy
- 40:38in you. I'd never seen it. And you were saying
- 40:40it harkened back to the early days of podcasting.
- 40:42Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. That, man, I've got the same
- 40:45excitement, and I see it again in you right now.
- 40:48I mean, I just see that life. I am excited. Enthusiastic.
- 40:54Enthusiastic. I love it, brother. So good. So
- 40:57good. And I'm excited to see where God takes
- 40:59this podcast. I'm pretty sure it's going to take
- 41:03it to two times a week. Let's do it. Ready for
- 41:06that. Let's do it. Well, we need to because I
- 41:09don't want it, you know, long podcasts are long
- 41:15podcasts, you know, and we're doing probably
- 41:18about an hour and a half now with thank yous.
- 41:22I'd like to try and keep it at that, but it's
- 41:24not really enough. I mean, we've been talking
- 41:25about me a lot today, which is not typical. Hey,
- 41:28this is a big thing. This is a huge thing. It
- 41:32is. And some of your listeners, Some will say,
- 41:34I saw this coming. Others will be like, oh my
- 41:38gosh, what just happened? Well, just to go back
- 41:41to that, so many people have been so supportive
- 41:45of whatever you decide is good. We know that
- 41:48you're going to make the right, not even knowing
- 41:50what I was thinking or where I was going. And
- 41:53the amount of decloaking believers in the no
- 41:59agenda world has been nothing but astounding
- 42:02to me. And if you saw Sunday, I left, because
- 42:08Tina wasn't here, so I was here by myself. And
- 42:11I left, and I get in the morning, I'm like, what?
- 42:14He says, hi, I'm Tim. I forget his night name.
- 42:18Oh, Sir, certainly, I think. And his son had
- 42:22driven up from Austin on their motorcycles. And
- 42:24I'd seen the motorcycles outside, because they
- 42:26both had like ham radio license plates. I'm like,
- 42:29who are these nerds? and they were here. They
- 42:33were at the service. They just wanted to say
- 42:36like a little mini meetup. I'm like, that is
- 42:39so cool. This is the stuff that I love. He's
- 42:42like, hey man, just want to encourage you and
- 42:44it's great to see you and love the church and
- 42:46love. Of course we had Abraham Enrique who gave
- 42:50the message, which is really, really good. So
- 42:53that kind of stuff, it just happens continuously.
- 42:56And I'm just loving that so much. Let's make
- 43:00more disciples. Come on, come on. So to land
- 43:05the plane on this, which way is the wind blowing?
- 43:08That's what we have to discern, okay? We know
- 43:11the wind's blowing. We know the season's changing.
- 43:14Which way is it blowing? And I feel like you're
- 43:15way down the road on that. You mentioned to me
- 43:18recently that you feel like you've got the energy.
- 43:21You're feeling that energy again. And what I
- 43:24love about that, Adam, is because Man, the last
- 43:27time you really felt that energy, you started
- 43:29podcasting. Something big happened. I love that
- 43:34at the age you and I are, we're not looking at
- 43:38quitting. We're actually, what's next? Let's
- 43:42go. I forget who it was. I was getting coffee
- 43:45Sunday before coming in. It was two weeks ago.
- 43:48I actually said, Adam. you're in the third quarter,
- 43:52not the fourth quarter, just the third quarter.
- 43:54Cause we were talking about what quarter of life
- 43:56he said, and I think he's older than them. We
- 43:58are. You're in the third quarter, brother. Thank
- 44:00you. Thank you. Beautiful to hear that. Oh, I
- 44:04love that. But also this is a time and it's been
- 44:10so phenomenal to see people's feedback on our
- 44:14discussions about robots. It's been, we're seeing
- 44:20people not being afraid, not being intimidated,
- 44:25using it for things that will benefit their life
- 44:27based upon our conversations and our suggestions
- 44:30and what to look for and not look for. But we
- 44:34are in an age, we are about, and so if anything,
- 44:39my goal and my mission in life has always been
- 44:43pave the way 10 years early, and someone else
- 44:48to get rich off of it. That's always, that's,
- 44:50and believe me, I'm good with that because the
- 44:53Lord has blessed me and I've never been without.
- 44:57So I have no worries about that. But there's
- 44:59something about this current moment we're in
- 45:03with these systems that is, it is going to open
- 45:07up an era of massive personal empowerment. And
- 45:12I can see it. I'm developing systems for it.
- 45:18I'm evangelizing some of it as well. And I'm
- 45:22enjoying, just like podcasting as well. I'm enjoying
- 45:25people getting great benefit. Like just the other
- 45:28day, Mike came over to my house. Yeah, this is
- 45:31great. And Mike, he just turned 81. He got baptized
- 45:34on his 81st birthday in your pool. Unfortunately,
- 45:38we came back one day later. It was an honor to
- 45:41do that. It was beautiful. You and Pastor Brian
- 45:43in the water. We double teamed him. He and his
- 45:48wife Jill have been good friends of ours, good
- 45:50friends of yours. And he said, Adam, I need some
- 45:54help with my devices. And by the way, I really
- 45:58wish an Apple product manager had seen this because,
- 46:02I mean, first of all, I haven't really used any
- 46:05Apple devices for a while and I'm confused, like,
- 46:08okay. And I'm just seeing how, you know, it's
- 46:09always interesting, especially if you make apps
- 46:12and devices to see how somebody uses them. I'm
- 46:15like, wow, and this, okay, that's an interesting
- 46:17way of getting there. But above all, he said,
- 46:20I really want to be able to use the robot because
- 46:23we have lunch from time to time, I showed the
- 46:25robot. And so I set him up with Muse, and I'm
- 46:29like, wow, what a phenomenal thing for someone
- 46:32who's just a little bit older. It can do certain
- 46:37things for you on the device just by you telling
- 46:39it to do it. It can help him remember certain
- 46:42things. It's truly an assistant for him. And
- 46:46with his usage, it will adopt and adapt to what
- 46:50he needs. And I am excited for him. because he
- 46:56really, you know, he wants to say, look, you
- 46:59get older, we start forgetting things like, I
- 47:01don't know, what did you say? I mean, I do it,
- 47:03you do it. My robot's telling me, remember what
- 47:07Tina asked you about going to HEB? It knows,
- 47:11it knows. So stuff like that. And we are, I truly
- 47:17believe it's going to bring enormous leverage
- 47:23to us as individuals. We actually will not be
- 47:27subject to the whims of technology companies.
- 47:31We're in a transitionary period. And just like
- 47:34the early days of the internet, you know, it's
- 47:37evil. It's not, it's no good. You're going to
- 47:39get every angle. Why would you want to have a
- 47:42place where people can just send you mail all
- 47:44the time? You know, who wants that? Who needs
- 47:46that? This will never work. And some of it, admittedly
- 47:50has not necessarily been great for humankind.
- 47:55But that's because we haven't really had the
- 47:56power to change that. And these systems are going
- 47:59to bring that power. And this is why computing
- 48:03itself is going to change. If you look right
- 48:06now, every technology company is trying to sell
- 48:10you some gadget for Christmas. This is early,
- 48:14early, early days. It's probably not worth it.
- 48:18want you to be enamored by their gadget and then
- 48:22be connected to their services, like you're enslaved
- 48:25to iCloud or to Gmail. All of this is going to
- 48:28change. Will it be 10 years, 10 months, 10 weeks,
- 48:3210 hours? Man, it's just like the coming of Christ.
- 48:35I don't know. And maybe it's connected. I don't
- 48:38know either. But it's going to be fantastic.
- 48:42And I want people to know that Whatever we see
- 48:46whatever we whatever vibes we get we're gonna
- 48:49tell people about it But right now, you know,
- 48:52so this was the latest story because please we
- 48:55want you to be afraid of all things AI Because
- 48:59you know, you really don't want anything unless
- 49:01we're controlling it for you or the government
- 49:03controlling it for you and this was just Hilarious.
- 49:35gets into your refrigerator and then it becomes
- 49:38a transformer, right? This is not like taking
- 49:40over people's personal devices. This is rather
- 49:43using what is known as the Internet of Things,
- 49:45this increasingly large connected network of
- 49:49internet connected devices, whether that be smartphones
- 49:51and laptops, but also increasingly like refrigerators
- 49:54and microwaves and ovens and garage door openers
- 49:57and smart home cameras and things like that.
- 50:00That is a network. And the idea here that Anthropic
- 50:03is floating is that potentially these AI models
- 50:07could. copy themselves within Anthropic and then
- 50:10get access to this Internet of Things and then
- 50:12use that basically as like a replacement for
- 50:14a data center. Sure, a refrigerator is only one
- 50:18small piece of a larger network. It is not enough
- 50:22to replace a data center. But, you know, when
- 50:24you add that to all the other Internet connected
- 50:26stuff in your house and then everybody else's
- 50:28connected stuff on your block, everybody in the
- 50:31city, that becomes quite a big network for this
- 50:33thing to play around in. And that's the real
- 50:35concern that Anthropics raising. OK. Let's break
- 50:38this down for a second. So they're actually kind
- 50:43of level -headed about it. Yes, AI, I guess,
- 50:49could use things and get on different devices.
- 50:53Your iRobot vacuum cleaner is not going to start
- 50:57spinning out of control and chop your head off.
- 51:00But this does bring up something that is incredibly
- 51:03important. And you know, when we moved into this
- 51:05house here in Fredericksburg, the first thing
- 51:07I did is I took all of that stuff out. I took
- 51:11out the Amazon door locks, the ring doorbells,
- 51:16all of that stuff. Now, we have a robot that
- 51:19cleans the house, and I'm willing to accept whatever
- 51:22risk that may be. But our washing machine is
- 51:24not connected. Our fridge is not connected. The
- 51:27fridge does what it's supposed to do. It keeps
- 51:30stuff cool or frozen. But it's going to need
- 51:32updates. I don't need updates. For a refrigerator.
- 51:36I'm like, what? Well, interestingly, if you connect
- 51:40your refrigerator and you get updates, the updates
- 51:45are one thing. Updates can be... wrong you know
- 51:48this you've seen it with your phone at some point
- 51:51oh bad update and you know restart get the new
- 51:53update with our sound system out here same so
- 51:56this just happened in france that said we just
- 51:58reported on that french supermarket hacking where
- 52:01someone hacked and messed with the temperatures
- 52:03of the refrigerators and the freezers Going into
- 52:05these devices, can they collect data on you and
- 52:08could they maybe mess with the devices in that
- 52:10way? I mean, there's there's the potential for
- 52:12that to happen. But again, that's not really
- 52:14what Anthropic is outlining here. Certainly we
- 52:17have seen instances where AI models go wrong,
- 52:20but usually that goes back to like internal testing
- 52:23that OpenAI or Anthropic or Google or somebody
- 52:25else is doing. And then these things kind of
- 52:27get loose. Last Friday, for example, in testing,
- 52:31Anthropic reported that one of their models accidentally
- 52:34submitted a murder tip to the Philadelphia Police
- 52:36Department that was completely erroneous. That's
- 52:38the nature of that sort of threat. OK, so did
- 52:41you hear about the French supermarkets? What
- 52:43happened? I did not hear that. This so a lot
- 52:46of these supermarkets and this was a hundreds
- 52:48of supermarkets use the same refrigeration system.
- 52:52There's a central control box and at night it
- 52:55does heat up a bit to defrost and then it goes
- 52:57down. So it's a controlled system connected to
- 53:00the unit with full trust of these supermarkets.
- 53:04that they would get their upgrades whenever it
- 53:07was necessary. I guess it's necessary. Well,
- 53:10somebody hacked into this one particular brand,
- 53:15which is used by this 400 supermarkets and turned
- 53:19it up to like 100 degrees and everything melted,
- 53:22everything spoiled, millions of dollars or euros
- 53:26of damage. This is not an AI story. This is a
- 53:32connected world story. And there is legitimate
- 53:35concern. It's legitimate concern. As fun as it
- 53:40seems to be able to monitor your washing machine
- 53:45from an app, there is a 50 % probability that
- 53:49people listening to us right now, their washing
- 53:52machine is actually being used to mine Bitcoin.
- 53:56This is a fact. Really? Oh, yeah. Oh, absolutely.
- 54:01And it's gigabytes of data are going back and
- 54:04forth from your washing machine. This is not
- 54:06AI. This is smart hackers who have probably taken
- 54:10over 90 % of our routers for bot networks. This
- 54:13is all happening. And it's because people have
- 54:17been so accustomed to, yeah, no problem. I'll
- 54:19just hook this thing up and it's good. Passwords
- 54:22are insecure. There's all kinds of things that
- 54:25go wrong all the time. We need to be wary of
- 54:28this. and just be careful what you connect to
- 54:32what. Now, it's not going to bother you that
- 54:34your washing machine is mining Bitcoin. It probably
- 54:38won't bother you that your Wi -Fi is being used
- 54:40as part of a big bot network. You may get slow
- 54:43from time to time like, man, my Netflix is buffering.
- 54:46But eventually the things we connect and we just
- 54:50have to discern what we connect and how we monitor
- 54:54that. If anything, we have very poor education
- 54:58about these things. So on one hand, the AI is
- 55:01going to jump in and use your washing machine
- 55:04to do other things. It might, but yeah, it's
- 55:07not going to come out and kill you. But you have
- 55:10to think about these things. Every single time
- 55:12there's a power outage, they barely report on
- 55:14it anymore. But people are left out in the cold,
- 55:17couldn't get into my house because I have an
- 55:19Amazon door lock that needs the internet to work.
- 55:22So these are things that... we need to be careful
- 55:25of. Wow. But we're not gonna, we're not going
- 55:28to be taken over by the evil AIs. Okay. And I'm
- 55:31not going to worry about my garage door opener
- 55:32then. Well, someone could open it remotely. That's
- 55:36true. That's any, any garage door opener though.
- 55:40Oh yeah. On a signal of any kind. Absolutely.
- 55:42That can get captured. Yeah. Yeah. For sure.
- 55:45Keep the, keep the inside door locked. Yep. That's
- 55:48the big one there. Now some really good news
- 55:50about the death of AI. It got me thinking. No,
- 55:53I'm happy about this. So when we first started
- 55:56talking, people said to me, Kuri, you were anti
- 55:59-AI. Now you're all in. When I was anti -AI,
- 56:03it was chat bots. And I said, that's a parlor
- 56:06trick. It's tricking you into thinking you're
- 56:07talking to a person and it's a human and it's
- 56:10destructive to people and they develop relationships.
- 56:13That was literally a year before the agents started
- 56:19to become the new way that they interact with
- 56:22humans and the large language models. So it was
- 56:25a whole different ball game. One of the ones
- 56:27I was most disturbed by was character .ai, which
- 56:31included, they had Jesus and Moses. You could
- 56:34talk to them. You remember that? Yes, we talked
- 56:37about it. Here's the latest. An early AI startup,
- 56:39Character AI, filed for bankruptcy. Is that some
- 56:42kind of foreshadowing about these businesses?
- 56:45I mean, I don't want to jump up and down on the
- 56:47grave, but. I'm kind of happy this happened and
- 56:50it is foreshadowing for things that don't belong
- 56:52in our world. Yeah, this is the other side of
- 56:53the AI coin, right? We talked about how scary
- 56:56some of this technology can be if it's allowed
- 56:58to progress to the degree that some of these
- 57:00leaders have been predicting. But also, no one's
- 57:03really figured out a way to make money on this
- 57:05technology yet. Character AI was a startup that
- 57:08built itself as a way for you to go and like
- 57:10create a little AI character. You could interact
- 57:12with it, but it really failed to, you know, find
- 57:16a robust monetization. despite the fact that
- 57:20millions upon millions of people use this thing
- 57:22every month at its peak. That really just goes
- 57:25back to underline how much spending is happening
- 57:27in the AI space with not really a robust monetization
- 57:31strategy, just yet a real threat, especially
- 57:33as companies even as big as Anthropic and OpenAI
- 57:36look towards future public offerings in possibly
- 57:39just the next couple of months here. So as I've
- 57:41always said. this cost too much. They better
- 57:46figure out a way to actually make money on it
- 57:48or it's just going to wind up where it belongs,
- 57:50which is in our own possession for us to use
- 57:53securely and safely ourselves. It'll be quite
- 57:57a while before this happens, but we're going
- 57:59to have it. And that is going to be so super
- 58:02empowering, particularly dynamic pricing. Have
- 58:07you been hearing about this? No. Where Walmart
- 58:10will They're gonna do it in store too, but I
- 58:14think on the app is where they've already just
- 58:15like uber and Lyft They look at you. How much
- 58:18can I charge you not? What is the price for everybody?
- 58:21What do I charge you based upon your your history?
- 58:24What I know about you and we know a lot about
- 58:27you because you can buy it from data brokers
- 58:29from right Activity on Facebook and Instagram
- 58:31and your credit card activity all this is known
- 58:34And so that this is going to be a conversation
- 58:38people like well, wait a minute. I mean The AI
- 58:41is now trying to squeeze the last bit out of
- 58:44me. I'm going to predict what's going to happen.
- 58:47Our robots will negotiate. And so you have an
- 58:52app or whatever to Walmart, and it will say,
- 58:55yeah, I don't want to pay $7 for that detergent.
- 58:58I can get it at Target for $6. Well, maybe I'll
- 59:02give it to you for 650. No, I can still get it
- 59:04for six over there. Okay, I'll do 550. Make it
- 59:07five and then I'll do it, because otherwise my
- 59:09robot's gonna go and negotiate with Target. This
- 59:11is where it's going to be deflationary. Interesting.
- 59:14It is going to put, and it'll be the same with
- 59:17drive -throughs, any subscription you have. Well,
- 59:21it makes sense, because the same thing they're
- 59:23gonna weaponize against us, we can use to guard.
- 59:26Yes. To shield. negotiate. I don't like weaponized,
- 59:31I like negotiate. I sound like a headline. We
- 59:33are going to have incredible power to make anything
- 59:37we want to come up with great ideas and build
- 59:41them ourselves and use those for our real world
- 59:44work that we do. You and I, we have real world
- 59:47work. We work in the absolute world and we talk
- 59:52to people and the tools that we have to make
- 59:55that better, deeper, more broader, they're just
- 1:00:00gonna be so amazing. I'm already benefiting from
- 1:00:02my grokbots. Exactly, exactly. This is so good.
- 1:00:06I've got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
- 1:00:09eight, nine of them now. Hey now! I've got a
- 1:00:14working and I've got a CEO who's in charge of
- 1:00:17all of them. And the CEO disperses whatever I
- 1:00:21ask into whichever bot it'll even say communicating
- 1:00:24with. People need to really start experimenting
- 1:00:27with this with Gronkbot or with Muse because
- 1:00:31you will, I mean, obviously you're still renting
- 1:00:34basically a virtual computer in the cloud from
- 1:00:38XAI. which right now is good. I mean, it was
- 1:00:43funny. People sent me this article. Hey, you
- 1:00:47know, this person is saying, you know, this news
- 1:00:49article that Muse has an entire file on you and
- 1:00:53all your friends. I'm like, yeah, that's the
- 1:00:56entire point is for my robot to know who Pastor
- 1:01:00Jimmy is and the things that pertain to him and
- 1:01:04to me. Now, do I want Metta looking at that?
- 1:01:08They say they don't. I'll take them at their
- 1:01:11word, but really I would like to have that on
- 1:01:13my device so I know that there's no temptation
- 1:01:16there. We're going to get there. Your phone will
- 1:01:19not look like a phone in the future. It'll just
- 1:01:22be a thing. And you ask the thing to do something.
- 1:01:25So I should hold off on the folding iPhone. Brother,
- 1:01:28stay away from it. Were you considering? No,
- 1:01:32I'm not actually, because I don't use my phone
- 1:01:34that much, to be honest. I actually use an iPad
- 1:01:38or whatever, but yeah, same thing. Is Annette
- 1:01:40foaming at the mouth? She wants to. She was,
- 1:01:43but she's calmed down about it. Because I was
- 1:01:45like, OK, just do it. She's been talking about
- 1:01:47that for so long. The foldable, the foldable.
- 1:01:50We'll see. It's just another reason to, oh, I
- 1:01:55got to open this fold and look at it again. Yeah,
- 1:01:57yeah, yeah, we'll see. I like my crappy Android.
- 1:02:01It's doing just fine for me. I do have one other.
- 1:02:05The story I don't know if you have anything else
- 1:02:07brother you want to talk about well, I think
- 1:02:09it's I Read a really interesting post from Tony
- 1:02:14Perkins of Family Research Council. Oh, yeah,
- 1:02:17sure He was talking about the public execution
- 1:02:19of Nadal Hassan. Mm -hmm And I would like to
- 1:02:23read that if that's okay. Sure I'd actually have
- 1:02:26you have something on that. Well, I have the
- 1:02:28clips. What you buy. Yeah So here's feel free
- 1:02:32to share. Yeah. Hold on a second. Here is the
- 1:02:35Here was the announcement from the Secretary
- 1:02:38of War, Pete Hedges, egg Seth. Execution by firing
- 1:02:41squad. Army major betrays his country, radical
- 1:02:44Islamist, kills a bunch of Americans at Fort
- 1:02:46Hood. Of course we're going to do it at Fort
- 1:02:48Hood. We're going to do it on a Thursday. We're
- 1:02:49going to do it at one o 'clock, which is when
- 1:02:51he did it. And it's going to be soldiers with
- 1:02:53rifles executing the firing squad. It hadn't
- 1:02:56been since World War II, since we've done that.
- 1:02:58Well, I kind of like the mentality we had in
- 1:02:59World War II, which was when, which was... Second
- 1:03:04time I'm hearing this, he's wheezing. You hear
- 1:03:06that? Yeah, yeah. He's like really... You can
- 1:03:09hear the wind blowing, too, wherever he's at.
- 1:03:10To me, it feels like he's kind of hyper about
- 1:03:14it. It's not easy for him to be talking like
- 1:03:17this, I can tell. I kind of like the mentality
- 1:03:19we had in World War II, which was wind. Which
- 1:03:22was, understand when the enemy attacks you, you
- 1:03:24need to stand your ground. So it was radical
- 1:03:27Islamist terror attack. Remember what Obama called
- 1:03:29it? Workplace violence? I mean, that's what we're
- 1:03:32up against. That's the worldview we're up against
- 1:03:33is workplace violence, CVE. We know what it is.
- 1:03:37It was a radical Islamist attack in uniform inside
- 1:03:39the ranks. And so he's going to get a firing
- 1:03:41squad of soldiers, as it should be. And we'll
- 1:03:44make sure that people are able to watch it, that
- 1:03:46it's public, because people need to understand
- 1:03:49that there's serious consequences for these types
- 1:03:52of things. Has Major Hassan made any final requests,
- 1:03:56reached out to the president, anything like that
- 1:03:57to your knowledge? Don't care. We'll see him
- 1:04:00on December 3rd. December 3rd, Fort Hood. And
- 1:04:04then President Trump responded a little more
- 1:04:06subdued, I think, to some degree. And sources
- 1:04:08say people across the Army and the Pentagon were
- 1:04:11caught off guard by the announcement that the
- 1:04:14execution of the Fort Hood shooter would be public.
- 1:04:17Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made the announcement
- 1:04:19in an interview with a far -right podcaster aboard
- 1:04:22the USS Abraham Lincoln on Wednesday. Hegseth
- 1:04:27said it would be public because, quote, people
- 1:04:30need to understand that there's serious consequences
- 1:04:32for these types of things. One source says Hegseth,
- 1:04:36the acting Army secretary and Pentagon spokesman
- 1:04:38Sean Parnell decided public would mean it would
- 1:04:41be live streamed. There are two thoughts. Don't
- 1:04:44show it and show it because, you know, by showing
- 1:04:48it, maybe other people won't be doing what he
- 1:04:50did. So I'll make a decision. Ultimately, I know
- 1:04:54what the military would like to do. But we'll
- 1:04:56make a decision. Okay. So it's, you know, the
- 1:04:59president has waited. He wasn't his usual bravado
- 1:05:02self on that. He was like, you know, we'll see.
- 1:05:04I'll make a decision. So Tony Perkins came out
- 1:05:09with a statement on this. I want to read it to
- 1:05:11you because I really, I really am in alignment
- 1:05:13with this. I can be swayed by somebody smarter
- 1:05:16than me, but I'm just saying I like what he said.
- 1:05:18He said, as a former police officer and as a
- 1:05:21pastor, I understand both the purpose and the
- 1:05:24biblical foundation of capital punishment. It
- 1:05:26is not merely punishment for a crime, it is also
- 1:05:29intended to deter others from committing similar
- 1:05:32acts. Scripture not only provides justification
- 1:05:34for capital punishment, but in cases of murder
- 1:05:37explicitly calls for it. We read this last week.
- 1:05:40Genesis 9, 6 declares, whoever sheds man's blood
- 1:05:43by man, his blood shall be shed, for in the image
- 1:05:46of God he made man. Capital punishment properly
- 1:05:50administrated is not a rejection of the sanctity
- 1:05:52of human life. It is an affirmation of it, but
- 1:05:55that does not mean executions should become public
- 1:05:58spectacles. So this is where he switches. And
- 1:06:00I agree. This is where my concern was not over
- 1:06:03capital punishment. Mine was where we settled
- 1:06:06that last week. My concern was publicizing this,
- 1:06:10showing it. Now he gives some, what I think are
- 1:06:12some sound reasons to be wary of this. He says
- 1:06:15this, I oppose the proposed live streaming of
- 1:06:17the execution of convicted Fort Hood terrorist
- 1:06:19Nidal Hasan for two reasons. First, when we separate
- 1:06:23capital punishment from its moral foundation,
- 1:06:26we risk turning an act of justice into what appears
- 1:06:28to be an act of vengeance. Rather than affirming
- 1:06:32the sanctity of human life, a public spectacle
- 1:06:34of death can communicate the opposite message.
- 1:06:37The human life has little value. Second, as House
- 1:06:40Speaker Mike Johnson has warned, Broadcasting
- 1:06:43Hassan's execution could provide jihadist organizations
- 1:06:47with a powerful recruiting tool. Rather than
- 1:06:49deterring future terrorists, it could give them
- 1:06:52propaganda to inspire more violence. Nadal Hassan
- 1:06:56should receive the punishment imposed for his
- 1:06:59horrific crimes. Justice should be carried out,
- 1:07:02but it should not become entertainment. The purpose
- 1:07:04of capital punishment is to uphold the value
- 1:07:07of innocent human life, not to make a spectacle
- 1:07:10of taking the life of the guilty. Well, there
- 1:07:12goes my pay -per -view idea. Oh, you have to
- 1:07:16pay for it? What? Oh, and we're going to make
- 1:07:20money on this at the same time. Wow. That's another
- 1:07:23level. As you were reading that, because I think
- 1:07:26a lot of people agree with your stance. Not all
- 1:07:29pastors, though. In fact, I heard Pastor Josh
- 1:07:32Howerton say he thought it was okay to be public.
- 1:07:36Yeah, to be public. And I'm thinking this is
- 1:07:41not... the first public execution that has been
- 1:07:46live -streamed. And I want to remind everybody
- 1:07:48of what happened on the last one. This happened
- 1:07:52on September 12th, when Charlie Kirk was executed
- 1:07:57live -streamed before the entire world replayed
- 1:08:01over and over and over again. I... didn't see
- 1:08:06any great benefit to that. It made people say
- 1:08:09horrible things. It started just an entire category
- 1:08:15of podcasts. And it was shocking. It was shocking
- 1:08:19to see that. I was like, just think about that.
- 1:08:25Do we need to see this? I don't think so. That
- 1:08:28one's still in my mind, that one. And I'm like,
- 1:08:30OK, I really didn't need to see that then. Yeah,
- 1:08:34I think it's interesting because when you have
- 1:08:37execution by injection or various means, electrocution,
- 1:08:41whatever, it's in a very closed facility. It's
- 1:08:44very private. Only certain people can enter.
- 1:08:47Well, there are witnesses who are there by design.
- 1:08:50And it's usually a handful of people. And it's
- 1:08:54not videotaped, you know, to be seen. forever.
- 1:09:00So I feel like we're moving back towards the
- 1:09:04Roman gladiator days where let's throw the Christians
- 1:09:06out there in there and let's just watch the lions
- 1:09:09devour them or watch the soldiers crush them.
- 1:09:11Wasn't it like a Christian monk who jumped into
- 1:09:16the arena and said to Caesar, you've got to stop
- 1:09:20this. He actually wound up getting eaten by the
- 1:09:22lions, but it was a Christian monk who jumped
- 1:09:24there and said, stop. And that kind of ended.
- 1:09:27This is after Christianity had become Augustine
- 1:09:32had said, this is the official church. And it
- 1:09:37ended from that. Bloodsport or whatever you want
- 1:09:41to call it. I understand the anger of Hegseth
- 1:09:45and I understand the anger of the military and
- 1:09:48I think it should be... reiterated what Hassan
- 1:09:50did. I mean, he killed 13 people, cold blood.
- 1:09:53It was awful. It was horrible. Alawakbar, the
- 1:09:55whole deal. As a psychologist, he was a psychologist.
- 1:09:59So think about someone you trust to such a degree.
- 1:10:03So that should also, that should be something
- 1:10:06that we're reminded of and we're told over and
- 1:10:09over. But yeah, public executions, they're ugly.
- 1:10:13They're bloody. It's shocking. We don't need
- 1:10:15it. You know, we say, well, you know, it's going
- 1:10:17to be limited to pay -per -view or whatever.
- 1:10:19It's going to end up everywhere. Well, we saw
- 1:10:22Saddam Hussein get hanged. Yes. We saw Colonel
- 1:10:25Gaddafi get torn apart by a mob. The list goes
- 1:10:34on and on and on. It's not pretty. It's not pretty.
- 1:10:37But it'll provide content for a lot of people.
- 1:10:43monetized, maximized, sensationalized. Well,
- 1:10:47that's what happened just over a year ago. I
- 1:10:49just feel like it's, yeah, not wise. That's my
- 1:10:53thought. Well, I think the president's going
- 1:10:55to make that decision, that he's going to say
- 1:10:57no. Oh, you think he'll back? Yeah, I think he'll
- 1:11:00say, let's not do that. I mean, you heard him
- 1:11:02go. I thought it was already decided, so that's
- 1:11:05good. No, I don't know. I don't have any proof
- 1:11:07of that. It just sounds like they were moving
- 1:11:09forward with that. The president can still tell
- 1:11:12the secretary what he needs to do. And the president
- 1:11:15keeps saying, well, we'll see about that. I haven't
- 1:11:17made a decision yet. He's asked his wife. As
- 1:11:21all good men would do. That's right. That's the
- 1:11:24only way to come up with the right way to get
- 1:11:26the right thing out there. Just to follow up
- 1:11:30on something you've been following about Noah's
- 1:11:32Ark. Yeah. And it's just. You know, there's not
- 1:11:36a lot of mainstream reporting on this. Have you
- 1:11:39noticed that it's? Yeah, it's a lot of other
- 1:11:42side, you know, smaller podcasts and different
- 1:11:45influencers or different outlets have picked
- 1:11:47it up. Yeah. And the people who are in these
- 1:11:51clips, and I just want to play it because you
- 1:11:53don't get it anywhere. Let's see. It's a former
- 1:12:00US Senate candidate from Delaware, Edward Szal.
- 1:12:04Uh, and Lauren Witzke, I believe she's, uh, I'm
- 1:12:08not sure if she's a scientist or anthropologist,
- 1:12:11but they, there's really a lot of stuff showing
- 1:12:13up. And where did I have to go to get these clips
- 1:12:16to get these people who were excited, who were
- 1:12:18part of the, uh, what is it? The Noah arc scans
- 1:12:22project X Alex Jones. Okay. It was a very serendipitous.
- 1:12:29Now, this was to come out this year. You think
- 1:12:31of all the things that have happened this year
- 1:12:32that have shooken people's faith or people have
- 1:12:35tried to shake people's faith, like the UFO disclosures.
- 1:12:37They said it was going to make everyone an atheist.
- 1:12:39You know, when Lauren and I jumped into this
- 1:12:42project, we knew that God's hand was on it. And
- 1:12:45going out to it, I mean, Alex, getting to see
- 1:12:47the valley that Noah and his family would have
- 1:12:49seen when they got out of the ark. was just breathtaking.
- 1:12:52At least you put some shots up of the topography.
- 1:12:54You can see the boat. You can see the ship right
- 1:12:56there. And it's the exact same length the Bible
- 1:12:59says. Absolutely. Yep. 300 cubic meters. Yep.
- 1:13:02Which is exactly 510 to 515 feet. So it matches
- 1:13:07the exact same biblical dimensions as Genesis
- 1:13:09and not just length, but also in width. So it's
- 1:13:1285 feet wide, which is 50 Egyptian cubits as
- 1:13:16well. So it's exact to the I'm kind of excited
- 1:13:42by this. It is, it is cool. I mean, it's kind
- 1:13:45of like when the Shroud of Turin came out. Right.
- 1:13:48And that's, man, it's been out a long time and
- 1:13:50they keep going back over and over and over and
- 1:13:52as new tech is developed. Oh, of course. You
- 1:13:55know, they get another documentary made, you
- 1:13:57know, it just keeps coming back. At the end of
- 1:14:00the day, it doesn't matter for me, but it would
- 1:14:03be kind of cool if it is. Yeah. And, you know,
- 1:14:07I mean, it's exciting. It's kind of hopeful.
- 1:14:09This is fascinating. I thought they talk about
- 1:14:12all the rocks, you know, that have the holes
- 1:14:14in them. They're massive stones that would have
- 1:14:17been there to balance and, you know, give the
- 1:14:20boat stability. And also there's all these seashells
- 1:14:24and everything all around. Not fossilized, actual
- 1:14:28seashells still, because they haven't been around
- 1:14:30for millions of years and haven't fossilized.
- 1:14:32It's fascinating. Yeah. I mean, it really is
- 1:14:35fascinating. It'll be fun if it all turns out
- 1:14:38that it is. I mean, I'm looking, I just jumped
- 1:14:41on X and typed in Noah's Ark. Wow. Wow. People
- 1:14:46are excited about this. I mean, this is like
- 1:14:49unreal. models. People like to use this. They
- 1:14:53say, see, it's all true, but that's not how you're
- 1:14:55going to win people. And that isn't at the end
- 1:14:58of the day. That's not how you're going to win
- 1:14:59them over. But if it turns out to be for real,
- 1:15:03man, it'll be kind of like, woo, you know, it's
- 1:15:06great. Another one. Now what else? You know,
- 1:15:07there's, cause there's been other things discovered
- 1:15:09as well. I also saw where a guy has discovered
- 1:15:12Noah's Ark underneath. What do you have now?
- 1:15:18This is hilarious. I thought you're going to
- 1:15:20love this. So let me find the picture of it.
- 1:15:23So I've got a picture. Explorer claims he found
- 1:15:26the Ark of the Covenant. Oh, in Nigeria. The
- 1:15:30Ark of the Covenant. Isn't that supposed to be
- 1:15:31in? It's supposed to be in Nigeria. But this
- 1:15:34one, American Explorer Ron Wyatt claimed to have
- 1:15:37discovered the lost Ark of the Covenant in a
- 1:15:39chamber beneath Jerusalem, directly below Golgotha.
- 1:15:43the site of Jesus' crucifixion. He reported finding
- 1:15:46an earthquake crack extending into the chamber,
- 1:15:48which he linked to Matthew 27 -51, the earth
- 1:15:51shook and the rocks were split. Inside he claimed
- 1:15:53to have found... It's a lot of he claimed, like
- 1:15:55there's a lot of past tense here. I'm like, and
- 1:15:58we have a picture. We see this. What is that?
- 1:16:03That's it. It's in a dusty old chamber. I mean,
- 1:16:06think of that. Is that over by... No, is that
- 1:16:12near Lady Bird Park? Is that enchanted rock?
- 1:16:18Enchanted rock, it could be actually. So anyway,
- 1:16:22you know, this stuff comes up from time to time.
- 1:16:24We see things like that. But you know, when the
- 1:16:26Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, people were
- 1:16:28probably shaking their heads going, nah. That
- 1:16:31was pretty amazing. It turns out to be a real
- 1:16:32deal. And so, you know, could it be that Noah's
- 1:16:38Ark has been discovered? I think it'd be great.
- 1:16:40If it is, I'm not worried about it if it isn't.
- 1:16:44Same way with this Ark of the Covenant here.
- 1:16:47That would be fascinating. I wouldn't go touching
- 1:16:49it. This pretty bad stuff happened to people
- 1:16:52who touched it. I think I'd stay away from it
- 1:16:54and let it sit. But there's a picture of it here
- 1:16:56on this and it's kind of interesting. It has
- 1:16:59the exact right dimensions. It's made of the
- 1:17:01right stuff. It's phenomenal. Hey, let's thank
- 1:17:05some of our listeners who have been so supportive
- 1:17:08of us, value for value. We just love getting
- 1:17:13value back for the value you provide, we provide.
- 1:17:17The best way is just telling someone about the
- 1:17:19podcast, let them know about it, get them to
- 1:17:22listen. Hit them in the mouth. I stole that from
- 1:17:25no agenda. Tell them to get it on the Godcaster
- 1:17:27app. That's always cool. Go to Bridge Radio on
- 1:17:30bridgefbg .com. And of course, wherever you get
- 1:17:33your podcasts, which is the most powerful sentence
- 1:17:36in broadcasting today, providing us with feedback,
- 1:17:43your stories, we love it all. And from the time,
- 1:17:48talent and treasure portion, Brent Stricker,
- 1:17:52from Alexandria, Virginia, which as you know
- 1:17:54is data center central and spook central, sent
- 1:17:59us $400. And he says, gentlemen, I pledge to
- 1:18:04make matching donations to both No Agenda and
- 1:18:07We Get To Do This. I love Pastor Jimmy's opening
- 1:18:09prayers and Adam's enthusiastic amen and hallelujah.
- 1:18:14Thank you for your advice and courage from Sir
- 1:18:17Wild Bill. Oh, and our fine friends over at Guadalupe
- 1:18:21Bank, I wanted me to ask all of the people in
- 1:18:25Get2Nation, if you send us a check, and we love
- 1:18:27getting checks in the P .O. box, WGTDTdonations
- 1:18:32.com, please put WGTDT as the payee. They had
- 1:18:38the whole staffer on. Can we say, yes, you can
- 1:18:43accept it? And this one came in through the P
- 1:18:47.O. box. It's a long note, but do you want to
- 1:18:50read that, brother? You know what? I don't have
- 1:18:51mine up yet, so you go ahead. I'll read this
- 1:18:53one. This is from Gwen Cunningham and Annette
- 1:18:57Shapey, I think, from Canyon Lake, $206 .60.
- 1:19:03And they sent a check together. Dear Pastor Jimmy
- 1:19:07and Adam, my sister and I are sending this donation
- 1:19:10of $206 .60 in memory of our parents, Alan and
- 1:19:13Irene Smith. We recently found your podcast and
- 1:19:16have been devouring the episodes. Thank you for
- 1:19:19being a voice of reason about how to deal with
- 1:19:21the daily news, which is filled with fear mongering.
- 1:19:23It's so helpful to hear your balanced Christian
- 1:19:26perspectives on what's going on in our society.
- 1:19:28The amount of the donation reflects the anniversary
- 1:19:30dates of our parents' deaths, which occurred
- 1:19:33in the month of October. Mom and dad found their
- 1:19:35church home at Bridge Church in Fredericksburg
- 1:19:38and attended faithfully for several years until
- 1:19:41their passing. Mom in late October of 2022 and
- 1:19:44Dad a year later in early October 2023. The body
- 1:19:48of Christ loved on our family in such meaningful
- 1:19:51ways during that difficult time. The staff and
- 1:19:54congregation always remembered Dad and reached
- 1:19:56out to him after Mom died. Lori and the other
- 1:19:59ladies of the church helped us with food and
- 1:20:01with planning both our parents' memorial services.
- 1:20:04Pastor Jimmy came out to the house when we called
- 1:20:06to tell him our dad was rapidly declining. He
- 1:20:08gave us the very precious treasure of the assurance
- 1:20:11of dad's salvation when he shared some of the
- 1:20:14conversation he had had with our father that
- 1:20:16day. Daddy died the very next morning, and we
- 1:20:19will always be so grateful for Pastor Jimmy listening
- 1:20:21to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and coming
- 1:20:24out right away when called, because that's what
- 1:20:26you are. You and Damon are first responders.
- 1:20:30Thank you. Mom and dad also volunteered with
- 1:20:33the Tea Party because it was important to them
- 1:20:35to get involved to help preserve our freedoms
- 1:20:37here in America. It seemed appropriate then that
- 1:20:39we first came across the podcast when we heard
- 1:20:41Adam on the Matt Long show. The folks were always
- 1:20:45well -informed and practical, never interested
- 1:20:48in sensationalism, and we think they would be
- 1:20:50so pleased with your podcast. There, folks. Even
- 1:20:53the title you chose for the show, We Get to Do
- 1:20:56This, is an inspiration, reminding us to have
- 1:20:58a positive attitude in troubled times and that
- 1:21:01as the Bible says, who knows but that we have
- 1:21:04been born for a time such as this. Sincerely
- 1:21:08from Gwen Cunningham and Annette Shapie in Memory
- 1:21:11of Alan Smith, 10 -4 -23, and Irene Smith, 10
- 1:21:14-26 -22. I just loved that. It was a handwritten
- 1:21:18note. It's so sweet. Do you remember? Yes, I
- 1:21:21do. I remember sitting at his bedside and asking
- 1:21:24him because we knew he was in the final hours.
- 1:21:27And I just was very, I'm very direct in those
- 1:21:29scenarios. And he said, absolutely. And he said,
- 1:21:34and I'm ready. I'm ready to go. When you have
- 1:21:36somebody tell you that, and they know they're
- 1:21:38going, they are persuaded. He was sure. That
- 1:21:44was a beautiful, beautiful thing. We did his
- 1:21:46memorial, and I was able to share that with the
- 1:21:50people there. There's just something beautiful
- 1:21:54about believers who pass on, because we don't
- 1:21:59see death the same way the world sees it. We
- 1:22:02don't see it that way. We see they're graduating,
- 1:22:05they're promoting, they're leveling up, you know?
- 1:22:09And that to me is so beautiful, especially when
- 1:22:12you're sitting with someone like him who was
- 1:22:14so sure, so knew what was coming. So that's beautiful.
- 1:22:20Yeah. Wow. Absolutely beautiful. Man, I appreciate
- 1:22:22that. So where are we at on donations? Steve,
- 1:22:26Steve, number three, number three. I've got a
- 1:22:29whole different list here. I've got Marco Mack,
- 1:22:31Joe Price. No, no, no. Did I send you the wrong
- 1:22:33one? That's what you gave me. Really? No. Yeah.
- 1:22:37That's what I got. Well, that was a mistake.
- 1:22:42I'm sorry. Not odd. And I also gave Annette the
- 1:22:46wrong one. Well, I will continue. You go ahead.
- 1:22:50Yeah. Steve Weiss. We know Steve from Las Vegas,
- 1:22:54Nevada. Good guy. $77 .70. He says, Steve and
- 1:23:00Steph, checking in again. As always, thank you
- 1:23:02both for the weekly insight and keeping us all
- 1:23:04grounded. Colleen and Edward Cota from Summit,
- 1:23:08New Jersey, $20, always with a check, which is
- 1:23:14a send to the PO box. We appreciate that. And
- 1:23:16okay, so I finally recognize that Dr. Graham
- 1:23:19Brian Bishko, I should have known with a $19
- 1:23:23.48 that this was actually code for Sir Brian
- 1:23:26of London. And the reason I should have known
- 1:23:30is 1948 is the independence of Israel. And he
- 1:23:35is our boots on the ground in Israel. Adam and
- 1:23:40Jimmy, I'll stick to using my pod ping email
- 1:23:42address so this lines up with Stripe. That's
- 1:23:45a lot of crypto talk there. Sir Brian of London,
- 1:23:47in Israel this time. You better figure out the
- 1:23:50significance of the number. Yes, we've got it.
- 1:23:52We got it, Sir Brian. Sending you love and prayers
- 1:23:54from Jerusalem where I spent a couple of days
- 1:23:56at the now notorious National Conservatism Conference.
- 1:23:59Just wanted to send you one of the great talks,
- 1:24:01which was the dinner speaker, Maggie Tabibi.
- 1:24:04Channel 14 TV news anchor who broke a fast during
- 1:24:07her news broadcast with a sip of water and said
- 1:24:10the blessing on TV during the broadcast I want
- 1:24:12to put this YouTube video Yeah, cuz you know,
- 1:24:16I watched it and this had never happened before
- 1:24:19in Israel that they'd a news anchor, had even
- 1:24:23spoken openly about their faith. Decloking is
- 1:24:25happening everywhere, and she's doing a prayer
- 1:24:29at the end of her newscast. Was that in an X
- 1:24:32piece that he sent us, one of the X DMs? Yes,
- 1:24:36but it's a YouTube video. People can see her
- 1:24:39speech at this. Very cool. Fantastic. Love that.
- 1:24:43I'm telling you, when you decloak in public,
- 1:24:47people will not throw rocks at you. That's right.
- 1:24:50Everything I thought would go wrong did not happen.
- 1:24:53It opens the floodgates. It does. People come
- 1:24:55up and say, you too? Yeah, there you go. It's
- 1:25:01beautiful. It is beautiful. Michael Mason comes
- 1:25:05in with $10 .14 and he says, as Christmas draws
- 1:25:10near, I hope you will touch on the Christmas
- 1:25:12tree. Well, we got some time. The Christmas tree
- 1:25:16has always been a part of my family history and
- 1:25:19I have no problem with it. But two years ago,
- 1:25:21I started also putting up a small nativity set
- 1:25:24as I feel with this, I can focus on the birth
- 1:25:29of Christ, not as an idol, only to remind me
- 1:25:31what Christmas is about. I think this might be
- 1:25:34a good topic. I would love to hear your thoughts
- 1:25:36about this. Michael Mason in New Hampshire, P
- 1:25:39.S. As Halloween draws near, I also have started
- 1:25:42focusing on October 31st, 1517. Martin Luther
- 1:25:47posted his 95 Theses on the door of the Castle
- 1:25:51Church in Wittenberg, Germany, challenging the
- 1:25:54practice of purchasing forgiveness for sins,
- 1:25:57arguing instead for salvation by faith alone
- 1:26:00through God's grace. For me, this seems more
- 1:26:02fitting, perhaps another show topic. Well, you
- 1:26:06are nodding your head here. Yeah, Romans 5, 8.
- 1:26:08I mean, yeah. The Wittenberg door, it was famous
- 1:26:13where he... nailed his theses, 95 of them, really
- 1:26:17completely countering the idea of paying for
- 1:26:22indulgences and the idea of salvation by works.
- 1:26:27He went back to Romans and talked about salvation
- 1:26:31is by faith and faith alone. So it's brilliant.
- 1:26:35Yeah, fits huge, huge deal. Okay, here's some
- 1:26:38Dutch history for you. Growing up, There was
- 1:26:41a holiday, they didn't, they never had Halloween
- 1:26:44in the Netherlands. Now they do. Well, they have
- 1:26:48Halloween movies. No one goes out trick -or -treating.
- 1:26:51But they had a day called St. Martin for St.
- 1:26:55Martin. Is this the same St. Martin? Martin Luther?
- 1:26:58I believe so, no. Could be. I got it because
- 1:27:01he was later burned at the stake for what he
- 1:27:04did. I mean, he paid a high price for this. And
- 1:27:06the kids will go out with lanterns? I've got
- 1:27:10to look into this, because I remember all this.
- 1:27:12It was kind of like a trick or treat, but it
- 1:27:14wasn't. I've got to figure this out. Thank you,
- 1:27:17Michael, for bringing this up. Yeah, that's fantastic.
- 1:27:19Now we've got stuff to look into. So, Romans
- 1:27:225, let me just give the backdrop on this. Therefore,
- 1:27:24since we've been justified by faith, we have
- 1:27:28peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 1:27:30He took that and said, we come to Christ through
- 1:27:34faith. Not through works. This isn't about what
- 1:27:38we're doing. And this was a complete... I mean,
- 1:27:41it was considered a heretic at the time, but
- 1:27:43it was a very bold brazen move to hammer that
- 1:27:47onto the door. No kidding. And then the next
- 1:27:50scripture after that, through him, we also have
- 1:27:53obtained access by faith, this is all about faith,
- 1:27:57into this grace in which we stand and we rejoice
- 1:28:00in hope of the glory of God. So he talks about...
- 1:28:04That was what this was all based on. We come
- 1:28:07to Jesus by faith, through grace, and not of
- 1:28:12ourselves. That's Ephesians 2 .8. So he was laying
- 1:28:16that out, and it was revolutionary, literally,
- 1:28:19in the truest sense of the word. It was like
- 1:28:21a revolution started. And that's, of course,
- 1:28:25the Lutheran church was birthed out of that.
- 1:28:28all by faith. So anyway, man, great, great distinction
- 1:28:31there. I appreciate that. I love that. Wednesday,
- 1:28:34today is his birthday. He'll be 62. I'm right
- 1:28:37there with you, Robert. He says, I'm thankful
- 1:28:39to have made, which I'm thankful to have made,
- 1:28:4362, with the grace of God, I hope the Get To
- 1:28:46Nation will pray for me for health and service
- 1:28:48until the Lord calls me home. Today, I donate
- 1:28:52$10 .14 for John 10 14. I am the good shepherd.
- 1:28:56I know my sheep and my sheep know me Come on
- 1:29:00now. I love these donation numbers. That's fantastic
- 1:29:04Nicholas Stark $5. Thank you Nicholas and Dwayne
- 1:29:07Spelman jr. As always $1 .53 Thank you also very
- 1:29:11much for supporting us. WGTDTdonations .com.
- 1:29:17And of course, you can always subscribe to the
- 1:29:19sub stack, get the newsletter. You don't have
- 1:29:21to pay for anything. It's all optional. When
- 1:29:23they say subscribe, you can just click, I just
- 1:29:26want it. We want you to do that so you get the
- 1:29:28newsletter and you get the episodes always delivered
- 1:29:31to you as well at WGTDT .com. You're going to
- 1:29:36take us out with your part of the daily grind?
- 1:29:39Yeah, I'll do that. But I also got this. This
- 1:29:41is from the Pickle Princess. Yeah, we got some
- 1:29:44notes. Yes. So she sent a beautiful note and
- 1:29:47it was it's kind of an answer to made a comment
- 1:29:49about Wild at Heart being written for men. But
- 1:29:52she ended up reading it and it really impacted
- 1:29:54her. Oh, nice. So listen, this is cool. I want
- 1:29:57to share this because this will help any of the
- 1:29:59ladies out there that are thinking, OK, well,
- 1:30:02I can't read that. Good morning, Pastor Jimmy.
- 1:30:04For some reason, today's daily grind made me
- 1:30:06remember I wanted to email you about something
- 1:30:08you said in the podcast last week. I was urged
- 1:30:11to read While at Heart years ago. It was presented
- 1:30:14to me as a good read to understand my then young
- 1:30:17husband and young son. And it really did. When
- 1:30:20it talked about, and now it's been years since
- 1:30:22I read it, so don't quote me, men doing dangerous
- 1:30:26things and doing things to prove their manhood,
- 1:30:29it really resonated with me to let my boys be
- 1:30:31boys. to not coddle them too much. Hold my breath
- 1:30:35and clap when they succeed. So don't discourage
- 1:30:37women from reading it. In fact, I would highly
- 1:30:40encourage it as a wife and a mother. It's kind
- 1:30:42of a good insight into their minds. Thanks for
- 1:30:45the daily grinds, and we get to do this. I look
- 1:30:48forward to them daily and weekly. The Pickle
- 1:30:50Princess, AKA Jodie White. So that was great.
- 1:30:54And that's actually what she said is excellent,
- 1:30:56really. It is definitely good for women to read
- 1:31:00and get an understanding, especially if you're
- 1:31:01raising boys, right? I wouldn't know. I've only
- 1:31:05been around women and girls my entire life, sisters,
- 1:31:08mom, everything. You're my first real dude friend.
- 1:31:13Look at those guns. Come on now. Come on now.
- 1:31:16So here's the Daily Grind today. I'm going to
- 1:31:18go back a couple of days on talking about the
- 1:31:21weight of every word. The words we speak matter.
- 1:31:25And so this is the Daily Grind. Today's scripture
- 1:31:28is Proverbs 18 -21. Death and life are in the
- 1:31:31power of the tongue, and those who love it will
- 1:31:33eat its fruit. Today's title is The Weight of
- 1:31:37Every Word. What you say matters. People measure
- 1:31:41your character by what you do and by what you
- 1:31:44say. Are you a person of your word? Can people
- 1:31:47depend on you to do what you say you will do?
- 1:31:50Words can also produce death or life. Gossip,
- 1:31:54criticism, and judgment can break one's spirit.
- 1:31:56Life, encouragement, and hope can lift someone
- 1:32:00out of the depths of despair. Speak life, because
- 1:32:03you'll eat what you say. Today, notice the words
- 1:32:07that come out of your mouth, especially when
- 1:32:09angry or under duress. You leak out what you
- 1:32:12are full of. In today's prayer is this, Father,
- 1:32:15may my words be laced with grace and bring life
- 1:32:19and hope to those I encounter today. In Jesus'
- 1:32:23name, everybody said, amen. Alright everybody,
- 1:32:28come on back next Wednesday. We'll be here for
- 1:32:30another episode of We Get To Do This.
