- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to Dirty Rush, The Truth about Sororiti Life with
- 0:04Speaker 1: your hosts me Gia, Judice, Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Kessler.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Hey guys, and welcome back to another episode of Dirty Rush.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Today's episode is a little different and honestly long overdue.
- 0:19Speaker 1: We've got some very special guests joining me today. My sisters.
- 0:23Speaker 1: You guys, hear me talk about college rush and Sororiti
- 0:25Speaker 1: life all the time, but now we're getting the real,
- 0:28Speaker 1: unfiltered version from the people actually living it right now.
- 0:32Speaker 1: They've been through the chaos of recruitment, figured out where
- 0:34Speaker 1: they fit, and have their own stories to tell. So
- 0:37Speaker 1: let's get into it. Gabriella Milania, Welcome to Dirty Rush.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Thanks for having us, Love you Chia.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Okay, so why don't we just share with everyone where
- 0:47Speaker 1: you guys are, where you're at right now? If you
- 0:50Speaker 1: want to disclose what Sororiti.
- 0:51Speaker 2: You're in, Hi, I'm currently in Barcelona, Spain. I'm usually
- 0:56Speaker 2: in an arbor, but I'm studying abroad at Michigan. I'm
- 1:00Speaker 2: in tri Ita.
- 1:01Speaker 1: And what about you, Millennia, So.
- 1:03Speaker 3: I go to University of Tampa. I'm in sigd Out and.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Love my sorority.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Okay, so did you guys always plan on rushing or
- 1:13Speaker 1: did that decision happen once you got to school.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I always knew I was gonna rush because of Jia.
- 1:23Speaker 3: I kind of like everything that like she did like
- 1:25Speaker 3: if I kind of like I just followed because she's
- 1:29Speaker 3: my older sister, so like she went in a sorority.
- 1:31Speaker 4: She was always thinking, you need to do that.
- 1:33Speaker 3: So I always knew it not the thing Gabriella did it.
- 1:37Speaker 3: So my sisters always gave me advice on what to do,
- 1:40Speaker 3: and I listened.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I think your story was a little different, though, Gabrielle,
- 1:44Speaker 1: because I didn't know, if you write you didn't fully
- 1:47Speaker 1: know if you wanted to rush.
- 1:48Speaker 2: I guess I didn't know where I wanted to go
- 1:50Speaker 2: to school at first, and I was like it was
- 1:52Speaker 2: dependent on where I chose. But because I went to
- 1:55Speaker 2: a big ten, then I knew I wanted to rush.
- 1:57Speaker 2: But if it was a difference, maybe not. It's just
- 2:01Speaker 2: part of the social life there, so I feel like
- 2:04Speaker 2: it adds to the experience.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I think it is a great way. You know, I'm
- 2:07Speaker 1: happy you both rushed. I do think it's a great
- 2:09Speaker 1: way to meet people, even if you know, obviously you
- 2:13Speaker 1: have your close friends and your sorority, but just being
- 2:16Speaker 1: in Greek life in general, you also meet girls from
- 2:20Speaker 1: different sororities that you end up being close with. And
- 2:22Speaker 1: that kind of is what happens freshman year. You meet
- 2:25Speaker 1: a bunch of people. Sometimes you get separated when you
- 2:28Speaker 1: go through recruitment, but even though you're in different sororities,
- 2:32Speaker 1: you still can hang out, go out together, go out
- 2:35Speaker 1: to different places. So I think it just is broadens
- 2:39Speaker 1: the family of Greek life and you're all one big family.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I completely agree. It's also like a completely different
- 2:46Speaker 2: crowd of people at school. Like I'm studying abroad right
- 2:50Speaker 2: now and I run into people that go to my
- 2:52Speaker 2: school all the time, but I didn't know they went
- 2:54Speaker 2: to my school because they're not in Greek life, because
- 2:56Speaker 2: that's kind of the crowd of majority of part of
- 2:59Speaker 2: right now.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I mean, do you guys not remember the week I
- 3:02Speaker 3: called you and I was like, I don't really think
- 3:04Speaker 3: I'm gonna rush when I want to drop with you.
- 3:06Speaker 4: Guys, You're like, no, don't do that.
- 3:08Speaker 2: I was like, okay, but you rushed first semester, right,
- 3:13Speaker 2: It was different for me.
- 3:13Speaker 3: I rushed first semester, so like I went like one
- 3:18Speaker 3: week with meeting friends without being in a sorority, and
- 3:22Speaker 3: then I joined my sorority and met a whole bunch
- 3:24Speaker 3: of friends during recruitment. We all went in different sororities,
- 3:27Speaker 3: and we're all still friends.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I think that's a good move, though, especially if you
- 3:32Speaker 1: do have to rush first semester, because it kind of
- 3:34Speaker 1: like makes you meet people right away.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess in a way, if you were struggling
- 3:40Speaker 2: to meet people, it gives you friends right off the bat.
- 3:43Speaker 2: But for me it was a little different. I rushed
- 3:45Speaker 2: second semester, but I actually preferred it that way because
- 3:48Speaker 2: now I have like what I call my first semester
- 3:51Speaker 2: friends and my sorority friends, and I ended up finding
- 3:54Speaker 2: a really great group of girls first semester, So I
- 3:57Speaker 2: wouldn't have changed it, because, like I I loved both
- 4:00Speaker 2: equally as much.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Yeah, University of Tampa's different, though, it's definitely not a
- 4:05Speaker 3: big ten, So we did not need to, Like, you
- 4:09Speaker 3: do not need to join a sorority here, like at
- 4:11Speaker 3: all whatsoever. Like you really don't need to. Like if
- 4:14Speaker 3: I was in a sortia or not, I would be
- 4:15Speaker 3: the same like for here, Like, I guess if you
- 4:17Speaker 3: want to go to like mixers and stuff, you need
- 4:19Speaker 3: to be an authority. But like my best friend Victoria,
- 4:22Speaker 3: she's not in Asrotia. I bring her to only mixers.
- 4:24Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, she's in Sigdell. She's in sig Deel
- 4:27Speaker 3: like like we're just like I bring her to everywhere
- 4:30Speaker 3: and like a bunch of girls go. I don't know,
- 4:32Speaker 3: just like doesn't really matter here that much as if
- 4:35Speaker 3: like I were in Michigan.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Just doesn't look.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. But I guess for
- 4:43Speaker 2: like game days, it's better to be in a sorority.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Yeah, so what was rush like for each of you? Long?
- 4:51Speaker 1: I'm sure yours was like not even close to what
- 4:55Speaker 1: ours was.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Like, all right, well, who wants to go.
- 4:58Speaker 1: To you have rock as your sorority.
- 5:03Speaker 3: We had different classrooms and like talk to like literally
- 5:07Speaker 3: like going to different classrooms. Like I'm walking around this
- 5:10Speaker 3: like campus because like University of Tampa's really not that big,
- 5:13Speaker 3: Like it's like my longest walk to class is like
- 5:15Speaker 3: ten minutes.
- 5:17Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Don't you have rocks on
- 5:19Speaker 1: campus that represent No, we.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Have rocks and they're pretty and they're painted.
- 5:26Speaker 1: No I'm saying smaller schools have rocks.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Yeah, we have rocks. You don't have houses.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Guys.
- 5:34Speaker 4: It's okay.
- 5:36Speaker 1: So you had to go so you had to go
- 5:39Speaker 1: from classroom to classroom and that was representing sorority.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Yes, went to a cash gym. And it's a I
- 5:49Speaker 3: don't know, like making them like make.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Wait, So how long was rush?
- 5:53Speaker 3: It was two weekends, Saturday and Sunday each weekend.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Only four days total. Yeah, oh yeah, that's literally nothing.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Well it was still a lot o.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure, but I guess it's just different. Like
- 6:10Speaker 2: were the classrooms decorated? Like how did you get a
- 6:13Speaker 2: feel for the sorority?
- 6:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah, well I knew I like myself, Like yeah,
- 6:19Speaker 3: they like decked them all out, like they like put up,
- 6:21Speaker 3: like they like put up like curtains, like they did
- 6:25Speaker 3: a whole bunch of stuff like like obviously did not
- 6:28Speaker 3: look in the classroom. And they put table cloths, they
- 6:30Speaker 3: put ta cloths over the chairs. They bought like bows
- 6:35Speaker 3: to pull on the chairs. They decked it all out.
- 6:37Speaker 3: But I went into every sorority and then first, oh god,
- 6:42Speaker 3: the first two were like so like quiet, like then
- 6:48Speaker 3: and I got like really scared, like wait.
- 6:49Speaker 4: This is not for me. And then I go into
- 6:52Speaker 4: my story. They're like s I.
- 6:54Speaker 5: It's like screaming on the top of their breaking and
- 6:59Speaker 5: like jumping in my face and like like twerking on me,
- 7:03Speaker 5: like going crazy, and I loved it.
- 7:05Speaker 3: I was like, wait, this is me, this is me,
- 7:09Speaker 3: like like dancing like in this circle to like Cardi
- 7:13Speaker 3: B or something like.
- 7:14Speaker 4: It was funny. It was really funny.
- 7:17Speaker 3: And I had a great conversation and all the girls
- 7:19Speaker 3: were like absolutely beautiful, Not that that matters, but they
- 7:23Speaker 3: were really beautiful, and I was like wow, yeah, and
- 7:26Speaker 3: they're crazy.
- 7:27Speaker 4: I like that.
- 7:28Speaker 1: So you found your home.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 1: The second they started playing Cardi B, you knew you belonged.
- 7:33Speaker 3: And the second they started like jumping up and down
- 7:35Speaker 3: and like twerking and having a good time.
- 7:38Speaker 1: So what was your brush experience?
- 7:40Speaker 2: Like everyella, mine was a lot different. Mine started in January,
- 7:44Speaker 2: second semester, and it was like in the brink of winter.
- 7:48Speaker 2: So I'm not gonna lie. That was probably the most
- 7:51Speaker 2: miserable time, like ever. I was in my skirt tights
- 7:55Speaker 2: and this like little top walking to house house. It
- 7:59Speaker 2: was like negative wind chill. It was like it was
- 8:01Speaker 2: like negative three degrees.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I think, no, yeah, I mean Michigan gets really cold
- 8:04Speaker 1: in the winter, if you guys.
- 8:06Speaker 2: But that was my That was my worst winter at
- 8:08Speaker 2: Michigan since being there my junior. Now obviously not there
- 8:11Speaker 2: this winter, but like last year was so much more
- 8:13Speaker 2: mild comarage to freshman year, so the weather made is
- 8:17Speaker 2: super hard and I was also, oh, I think I
- 8:20Speaker 2: was Do I go on acutane?
- 8:21Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 8:21Speaker 2: I was on acutane so my skin felt like it
- 8:24Speaker 2: was going to crack off anyways, But besides that, I
- 8:27Speaker 2: had it for I think like around a month or
- 8:29Speaker 2: at least like three weeks. Who open house, Yeah, it
- 8:33Speaker 2: was the list.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Each round was a weekend. It's what it's open house
- 8:37Speaker 1: round Sisterhood and then philanthropy.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Open house, philanthropy Sisterhood, than pres and open house is
- 8:45Speaker 2: virtual and then you go, I think from sixteen to
- 8:48Speaker 2: I think it's twelve right after open house.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Okay, see, I think we did open house philanthropy and
- 8:55Speaker 1: then preth or we didn't have sister run no or
- 9:00Speaker 1: no okay, actually I think it was open house, Sisterhood
- 9:05Speaker 1: and PREF. But during PREF they like explained what our
- 9:09Speaker 1: philanthropy was in like.
- 9:11Speaker 2: A comed Yeah. Yeah, then like right after open house
- 9:16Speaker 2: you start going to the houses. So like as soon
- 9:18Speaker 2: as I went to the houses, like then I really
- 9:20Speaker 2: knew where I wanted to like be.
- 9:22Speaker 1: But you you were conflicted a little bit.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I was conflicted because, like I said, I had
- 9:30Speaker 2: first semester friends, and I think you're under the inception
- 9:34Speaker 2: that like you're all going to go the same place,
- 9:35Speaker 2: but like obviously you're gonna connect with different girls in
- 9:38Speaker 2: different ways. So by the end of it, I was
- 9:42Speaker 2: down to two like kind of the whole time. But
- 9:45Speaker 2: when I had a summit only two for pref I
- 9:47Speaker 2: was debating between which one to drop.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Which part of the process do you guys think was
- 10:07Speaker 1: the most challenging.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Last year when were rushing, we weren't allowed to chew gum,
- 10:11Speaker 3: say rush talk about boys, alcohol, going out that standard.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Yeah, but what was the most challenging when you were
- 10:21Speaker 1: rushing for a sorority? Like what part it was the
- 10:24Speaker 1: most challenging for you? Or was it not challenging because
- 10:27Speaker 1: the second you heard Cardi B you knew where you belonged.
- 10:30Speaker 3: The most challenging was at the end, I called my sisters,
- 10:33Speaker 3: and I was between when Sigdell.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Oh, I remember this, you were in between two too.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Yeah, and I really like this one girl who rushed me.
- 10:43Speaker 3: But you know what, at the end of the day,
- 10:45Speaker 3: I knew Sigdell.
- 10:48Speaker 4: Was like more my vibe.
- 10:49Speaker 3: But I was like, really in between the two, you
- 10:51Speaker 3: just like have to just like go with like you
- 10:54Speaker 3: really think was more your vibe.
- 10:55Speaker 4: And I was like, yeah, that's Sigdell.
- 10:58Speaker 1: I think that's the hardest part. I mean I was
- 11:00Speaker 1: stuck between two.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Well you only haven eight sororities at your school, right, Yeah, yeah,
- 11:06Speaker 2: I mean I guess the most challenging part is just
- 11:08Speaker 2: like when you're debating like which ones to drop and
- 11:11Speaker 2: which ones to keep.
- 11:12Speaker 3: And I also like being in a sorority because being
- 11:15Speaker 3: in a sorority and you get like mixtures with like fraternities,
- 11:18Speaker 3: and then you meet a whole bunch of boys and
- 11:20Speaker 3: that's always fun.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that is fun. I mean you get to meet people,
- 11:25Speaker 1: obviously make friends. Us three, we didn't have any legacy
- 11:29Speaker 1: connections when we were rushing for a sorority. We were
- 11:35Speaker 1: the first generation really in our family to go to college.
- 11:39Speaker 1: So the sorority is you know, asked us back based
- 11:44Speaker 1: on our personalities and our connections with them. But yeah,
- 11:49Speaker 1: we no one and our family went to college besides us, you're.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Real, and we all went to different colleges and we
- 11:58Speaker 2: all endrow up in different sororities as well.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Yeah we did. I mean Mom went to Berkeley and
- 12:02Speaker 1: got her associates, but she did not rush a sorority.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Yeah, Mom went to college. Don't tell people that Mom
- 12:09Speaker 4: didn't go to college.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Yeah, but we are like the first generation to really
- 12:13Speaker 1: go to school and graduate with a bachelor's degree.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Will she stay at college like dorm like we did.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Yeah, no, she wasn't allowed to.
- 12:22Speaker 4: I know.
- 12:24Speaker 1: But I'm saying we are the first generation to really
- 12:27Speaker 1: go to school, go away, get our bachelor's degree. Like
- 12:30Speaker 1: the way we all experienced college is very different than
- 12:36Speaker 1: our parents and aunts. And yeah, I don't think any
- 12:40Speaker 1: of our uncles, I.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Mean we bad parties for our Yeah, like part is insane.
- 12:49Speaker 1: They still do bad parties.
- 12:51Speaker 4: I know.
- 12:52Speaker 3: And like if you were to tell No One of that,
- 12:53Speaker 3: she's like kid five stacles.
- 12:57Speaker 4: Yeah, no idea what that off it is?
- 13:00Speaker 2: I think because Mom never experienced it, she would like
- 13:02Speaker 2: encourage us to do it. She was like excited for us.
- 13:06Speaker 1: She was so excited she wanted us to do everything
- 13:08Speaker 1: that she didn't do. So going into that, what is parents'
- 13:13Speaker 1: weekend like for you guys? I mean, I know what
- 13:16Speaker 1: it was like for me. Mom is not a frat
- 13:19Speaker 1: party girl. She really doesn't like the frat parties that much.
- 13:23Speaker 1: She's a good sport. She'll come, she'll hang out for
- 13:27Speaker 1: a little bit. But I totally understand. It's such a
- 13:30Speaker 1: different situation when she's in overcrowded places like bars and
- 13:37Speaker 1: frat parties. I mean, she is recognized very very quickly,
- 13:42Speaker 1: and it's more so than her taking photos the entire
- 13:46Speaker 1: time instead of really enjoying parents' weekend with me. So
- 13:53Speaker 1: because I went to school so close, it was easy
- 13:55Speaker 1: for her to kind of just pop in. We could
- 13:58Speaker 1: go to the game. The game was a something that
- 14:00Speaker 1: she enjoyed because we just sat in our own section,
- 14:04Speaker 1: and if we did a parent's tailgate, because it wasn't
- 14:07Speaker 1: really near the frats, it was on a different campus,
- 14:11Speaker 1: and then we would go watch the game. But yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 1: but it was fun. I just think obviously, you know
- 14:20Speaker 1: trees better than frat parties.
- 14:23Speaker 4: Yeah, No, it was similar at mine.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I mean she came for a game day and I
- 14:28Speaker 2: only would take her to the tailgates if they were
- 14:31Speaker 2: like not crowded, if that makes sense, because otherwise it's
- 14:33Speaker 2: like too overwhelming. I remember her Louis came for the
- 14:37Speaker 2: USC game. I guess it was my sophomore year, first semester,
- 14:42Speaker 2: and I felt so bad because it's not usually that crowded,
- 14:46Speaker 2: but because we've never played them before, it was actually
- 14:50Speaker 2: the most crazy I've ever seen. And usually when you
- 14:53Speaker 2: go into the bake house it's very quick, like takes
- 14:56Speaker 2: two seconds. So I took them through the student section.
- 14:59Speaker 2: We were like almost like in a mosh pit, Like
- 15:03Speaker 2: we were like neck and neck with people pushing. It
- 15:06Speaker 2: was so bad. I felt terrible.
- 15:09Speaker 1: It's just different, you know, and like gets on. It's
- 15:11Speaker 1: like things that we can't control.
- 15:13Speaker 2: No, yeah, and then and then we got to like
- 15:15Speaker 2: our normal seats and like that was fine, but exactly, yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 2: like just like less time.
- 15:20Speaker 1: She's such a good sport and she really does it
- 15:24Speaker 1: and like doesn't mine because obviously we want her there
- 15:27Speaker 1: for a parents' weekend. She wants to be there, but
- 15:30Speaker 1: sometimes when it's too crowded, it's just it's too much.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll take her to like the activities at my
- 15:37Speaker 2: Soty house. So they do a lot of stuff in
- 15:38Speaker 2: the front yard. They do that stuff is really cute. Yeah,
- 15:42Speaker 2: and then we'll just like go dinner one of my
- 15:44Speaker 2: favorite places. Yeah uh yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 3: So yeah, when mom came to visit me, I had
- 15:51Speaker 3: to bring her an electric fan to the door.
- 15:57Speaker 4: But my fan, it is really good. It's like a
- 15:58Speaker 4: dice and like it really just like.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Just like I've spent eighty bucks on it and it
- 16:04Speaker 3: works perfect on Amazon. I had to it gets really
- 16:08Speaker 3: hot here, like I sweat and it looks disgusting. I'm
- 16:11Speaker 3: not doing that, Like, no one's catching me dripping sweat.
- 16:14Speaker 3: That's a gross And like at the Doughty's there's not pools,
- 16:17Speaker 3: and if there is a pool, I'm not going in
- 16:19Speaker 3: that pool.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Like yeah, I would hope not.
- 16:22Speaker 4: Disgusting like du I wouldn't. Yeah.
- 16:24Speaker 3: No, So, like everyone was trying to get me to
- 16:27Speaker 3: go down the water side the one time, I'm.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Like, how was it for mom?
- 16:31Speaker 3: Though, I'm explaining my college experience and I'll tell you
- 16:35Speaker 3: Mom's after.
- 16:39Speaker 4: And everyone got feet in hand stuff.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Something after they went down the water slide kishi like fungus.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Yeah that hand foot mouth.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Okay.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Anyways, so Mom was in the crowd, like like putting
- 16:54Speaker 3: the fan in her and like everyone kept asking her
- 16:56Speaker 3: for photos. It was really freaking annoying, just because I
- 16:58Speaker 3: I wanted to dance, I want and everyone like taking
- 17:00Speaker 3: photos or and like she stayed for like thirty minutes,
- 17:04Speaker 3: and oh, Johanna was like, yeah.
- 17:05Speaker 4: I'm out of here too.
- 17:06Speaker 3: It's so hot, I'm sweating, and I was like, deuces, girls,
- 17:11Speaker 3: I'm staying for a little bit longer, and then went.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Back to my apartment and laid out.
- 17:16Speaker 1: By my pool.
- 17:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Well yeah, I mean it's different. I feel like when
- 17:20Speaker 1: they go visit you at Tampa, it's you could make
- 17:23Speaker 1: more of a relaxing weekend out of it, especially because
- 17:26Speaker 1: you're on the beach.
- 17:27Speaker 3: We went to the beach and tang all day and Mom,
- 17:30Speaker 3: we sat in the durroombrolls got really ten.
- 17:32Speaker 4: Mom ordered food, o'donna ordered food.
- 17:35Speaker 1: We eat.
- 17:35Speaker 4: It was like sands the beach all day. It was
- 17:37Speaker 4: really nice.
- 17:39Speaker 3: And but the day before that, my sorority was throwing
- 17:42Speaker 3: authority for Parents' weekend, so I wanted to take my
- 17:45Speaker 3: mom to that and then at night we went to
- 17:47Speaker 3: dinner and I took all Gianna out.
- 17:50Speaker 4: My mom didn't want to go out, so she just
- 17:51Speaker 4: stayed home.
- 17:51Speaker 1: That's good. I mean, I think parents' weekend definitely can
- 17:55Speaker 1: be a lot for her, but it is fun because
- 17:58Speaker 1: she could do different things each one of our schools.
- 18:01Speaker 1: When it's a little commerce, she can go to the
- 18:03Speaker 1: sorority house and come to parent events that we hosted
- 18:06Speaker 1: our sorority house. Milania, you have the luxury of being
- 18:09Speaker 1: in the sun, which we obviously all enjoy. So you know,
- 18:14Speaker 1: just doing things in little increments and making sure it's
- 18:17Speaker 1: not too overwhelming.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean she does come to everything though.
- 18:21Speaker 2: She comes to everything, and she's amazing and doesn't have
- 18:24Speaker 2: a problem with it. But what's also nice about my area.
- 18:27Speaker 2: We go to Birmingham, you did, like an hour outside
- 18:30Speaker 2: of ann oarb It's like kind of a Morstown Mount
- 18:33Speaker 2: Clair area. It's beautiful, so there's a lot of shopping there.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Really great well, because like you want to go out,
- 18:39Speaker 2: like I actually appreciate having a more chill weekend when
- 18:42Speaker 2: mom's there. So we'll go to Birmingham and they have
- 18:44Speaker 2: like a really great mall, like short Hills type mall.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yeah when Yeah, my mom obviously enjoys doing that. Like
- 18:52Speaker 1: by me. It was hard because like Rutgers, it was
- 18:55Speaker 1: so close to home. So if I want to have
- 18:57Speaker 1: a chill weeknd my mom, then I would just go home.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Yeah, he came home a lot in college. I remember
- 19:03Speaker 4: seeing you a lot.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Well. I also a year and a half of my
- 19:06Speaker 1: college experience was during COVID. Oh wait really yeah, I
- 19:12Speaker 1: went home April my freshman year. I didn't go back
- 19:14Speaker 1: to school until my junior year.
- 19:17Speaker 4: You're lying, that's so sad. Oh that is sad. I'm
- 19:22Speaker 4: so sorry that happened to you. Yeah, it sucks.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Oh my god, I hate COVID for that. I made
- 19:29Speaker 3: a lot of people like miss out and like their
- 19:31Speaker 3: graduations and stuff like that.
- 19:33Speaker 4: I felt so bad.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Yeah it was rough, but but yeah, so that's why
- 19:38Speaker 1: there it's fun when mom comes and visits you girls,
- 19:40Speaker 1: because there's different things to do, and I think that's
- 19:42Speaker 1: why I even encouraged you guys to go far and
- 19:45Speaker 1: experience and do everything. But when she would come and
- 19:49Speaker 1: visit me, it's like when she was tapped out. I
- 19:51Speaker 1: was like, it's fine, go home, I'll see you, like
- 19:53Speaker 1: next weekend.
- 19:55Speaker 3: I was gonna say, there's something called Hyde Park here
- 19:58Speaker 3: and Mom likes to go shopping there. It's like it's
- 20:01Speaker 3: like imagine short hills, but all outside, like all outside
- 20:05Speaker 3: with like palm trees.
- 20:06Speaker 4: Like a nice outdoor mall.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Then right, it's an outdoor mall and you just walk
- 20:11Speaker 3: and there's a bunch of restaurants and like Saphora, like
- 20:15Speaker 3: Lulu Lemon, just like everything, and me and Mom go
- 20:17Speaker 3: there and you can take pictures there. It's so pretty
- 20:21Speaker 3: and it's called Hyde Park. Everyone in Tampa knows what
- 20:24Speaker 3: Hyde Park is. It's really it's really cute spot. And
- 20:27Speaker 3: like during the holidays, they put Christmas trees, Halloween, they
- 20:30Speaker 3: decorated for Halloween. There's a pumpkin patch there. I was
- 20:33Speaker 3: so happy during a Halloween because I wanted to go
- 20:34Speaker 3: to Conklin Farm so badly and there was a pumpkin
- 20:37Speaker 3: patch in Hyde Park.
