- 0:05Speaker 1: Billy the Kid. Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Starring the one and only Candace Lopez and producer Pooh.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Billy the Kid in the morning. Once again, back is
- 0:15Speaker 1: the incredible Billy the Kid.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Live and local.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Billy the Kid. Billy the Kid in the morning. It
- 0:25Speaker 1: is Friday Eve. Good morning. It's Thursday.
- 0:28Speaker 5: It's Mix 102.9. Appealing to Kid Candice Lopez is here.
- 0:31Speaker 5: Producer Pooh is here. What's up, Candice?
- 0:33Speaker 6: You know what?
- 0:33Speaker 7: We were talking about those icks yesterday. Remember we had
- 0:35Speaker 7: the list? What was it? Women's icks for men.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Weird icks that they have that have been deal breakers.
- 0:41Speaker 7: Yeah, I got out of my car today and I
- 0:42Speaker 7: think I was a walking ick.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Why?
- 0:44Speaker 7: And I was like, I wonder if this is an
- 0:46Speaker 7: ick for men because, you know, I'm just doing my thing.
- 0:49Speaker 7: I'm mid-40s. I'm trying to be comfortable. But I put
- 0:51Speaker 7: my backpack on both shoulders. And I thought, is that
- 0:56Speaker 7: an ache for a grown woman to have a backpack
- 0:58Speaker 7: on both shoulders? And then to top it off, you know,
- 1:01Speaker 7: we have to have our key card to get in
- 1:02Speaker 7: the doors and stuff. I'm always I'm fumbling around. I've
- 1:05Speaker 7: got three bags, two drinks, all the things. And I
- 1:08Speaker 7: have my badge.
- 1:09Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:09Speaker 7: And I was like, well, I should just put it
- 1:11Speaker 7: around my neck. I didn't.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Oh, don't do that. Because I thought.
- 1:15Speaker 6: Nerd alert.
- 1:16Speaker 7: I didn't do it.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Schoolgirl can't.
- 1:18Speaker 7: Because I had my backpack on already. I was like,
- 1:20Speaker 7: there's no way I can wear a backpack and my
- 1:23Speaker 7: key card around my neck. That's like two aches.
- 1:25Speaker 5: Well, it's not an ache to me, but I will
- 1:27Speaker 5: say when I see you wear your backpack that way,
- 1:30Speaker 5: can I tell you instantly what comes to mind?
- 1:31Speaker 7: High school?
- 1:32Speaker 1: No.
- 1:33Speaker 7: What?
- 1:34Speaker 1: You look exactly like Dora the Explorer.
- 1:38Speaker 7: I have so many things, and it's not good for
- 1:40Speaker 7: my shoulder to have a bag on one shoulder.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Candace, who cares about what you look like?
- 1:46Speaker 7: Exactly.
- 1:47Speaker 1: 4.30 in the morning.
- 1:48Speaker 7: That's honestly my point.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I mean, I was running late today. We're ridiculous. Who
- 1:52Speaker 1: cares what we look like?
- 1:54Speaker 7: Yeah, no, 100%. I'm not wearing makeup today. I literally
- 1:57Speaker 7: don't care, but I thought, oh, man, if people don't
- 1:59Speaker 7: know me or what I do, they're like, that girl's
- 2:01Speaker 7: so weird.
- 2:01Speaker 1: That's awesome. I got roasted for wearing my backpack like that, too.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Did you? Yeah, somebody online, they're like... Not both straps, Billy.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I can't win. Yeah, I know. So I'm just like,
- 2:11Speaker 1: you know what?
- 2:12Speaker 7: Fine.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I'll just leave all my stuff here and just leave
- 2:15Speaker 1: it so when I show up, it's here. I don't
- 2:16Speaker 1: want to have a bag even.
- 2:18Speaker 7: It's kind of freeing, though, to not care. Just wear
- 2:20Speaker 7: your backpack.
- 2:20Speaker 6: It is.
- 2:21Speaker 1: How it's comfortable. Do whatever you want to do.
- 2:23Speaker 9: I agree.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Life's too short. Pretty sure Pooh is here. What's up, Pooh?
- 2:27Speaker 10: I got scared early this morning.
- 2:29Speaker 1: So I came from, I spent the night at my
- 2:31Speaker 1: aunt's house, so I came from the south. Weird. Wow.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Spent the night at my aunt's house?
- 2:37Speaker 6: Egg.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Egg.
- 2:39Speaker 7: No, that's sweet.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I went over there and ate. Yeah.
- 2:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:43Speaker 7: So you just crashed over there?
- 2:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I just crashed. I'm just weird, and everything Pooh
- 2:47Speaker 1: does to me is just strange. Yeah. It's just weird
- 2:50Speaker 1: to me. Like, I would never stay the night at
- 2:53Speaker 1: someone else's house on, like, a random work night.
- 2:56Speaker 9: Right.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Throw my whole pattern off.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Like, I have to go home.
- 3:01Speaker 7: Yeah, in our 20s. Yeah, we did it all the time, probably.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:04Speaker 5: I got to sleep in my bed. I got my routine.
- 3:06Speaker 5: I got things I got to do. But anyway, I mean,
- 3:09Speaker 5: were you drunk?
- 3:10Speaker 1: No, I was just being lazy. I didn't feel like
- 3:12Speaker 1: driving home. I was just like, you know what? I'm
- 3:13Speaker 1: just crashing over here real quick.
- 3:15Speaker 7: Okay, so you stayed over there.
- 3:16Speaker 10: Yeah, I stayed over there coming from the south or whatever.
- 3:19Speaker 10: When you exit, you know that's their underpass, right?
- 3:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 1: So I went under the.
- 3:23Speaker 7: Yeah, I use that underpass every day.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Right, right. So when I went under the pass or whatever,
- 3:27Speaker 1: I looked at the building. I just, out of my peripherals,
- 3:30Speaker 1: I thought somebody was waving at me, like trying to
- 3:32Speaker 1: flag me down. I was like, what is that? So
- 3:35Speaker 1: I did a U-turn again.
- 3:36Speaker 7: It's possible.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I did a U-turn again just to check. It's a
- 3:41Speaker 1: mannequin standing there, but it looks extremely close. I put
- 3:45Speaker 1: it on my Instagram.
- 3:46Speaker 10: I've seen that. Well, not the apartments, but the first building.
- 3:50Speaker 10: As soon as you go up under the underpass, there's
- 3:52Speaker 10: like a big old window, and it's a mannequin. It
- 3:54Speaker 10: looked like he was like.
- 3:56Speaker 7: I have actually seen that. It's very creepy.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like, what? I don't know if I've
- 4:00Speaker 1: ever seen it, but that, I mean, that's kind of weird.
- 4:02Speaker 7: Yeah, all the lights are off in the building except
- 4:05Speaker 7: that one unit.
- 4:06Speaker 1: It's a shadow. Yeah. And so I thought somebody was
- 4:09Speaker 1: trying to flag me down. I was like, what? So
- 4:12Speaker 1: I did a U again because I was like, what
- 4:14Speaker 1: is going on? That's weird, too, that he would even
- 4:16Speaker 1: care enough to turn around. Yeah, you know, I ain't
- 4:18Speaker 1: usually nosy like that or whatever. But I did a
- 4:20Speaker 1: U-turn again and I pulled back up under the thing
- 4:23Speaker 1: and I'm like, That's a dang mannequin. Yeah. But it looks,
- 4:27Speaker 1: if you're going fast up under the underpass, it looks
- 4:30Speaker 1: like somebody's like, moving right there so i was like
- 4:32Speaker 1: oh man that and it scared.
- 4:33Speaker 11: Me you know what you're gonna be okay coming in
- 4:37Speaker 11: at four in the morning you're gonna be okay we
- 4:39Speaker 11: see some weird stuff at 4 a.m i'll see people
- 4:42Speaker 11: just randomly walking on the street at 3 34.
- 4:45Speaker 7: A.m their dogs where.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Are you going oh these people aren't walking their dogs
- 4:49Speaker 1: the apartment people are oh yeah sometimes that's normal to
- 4:52Speaker 1: me but then there's like random i see the same
- 4:55Speaker 1: guy every morning jogging Oh. With a reflective vest on. Yeah.
- 4:59Speaker 7: There's a couple in my neighborhood that do it. And
- 5:02Speaker 7: I pass them on my way to work.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Some days I just want to roll down my window
- 5:05Speaker 1: and go, go to bed.
- 5:06Speaker 12: Go to bed.
- 5:06Speaker 7: 102.9.
- 5:08Speaker 6: The new Mix 102.9.
- 5:10Speaker 13: Top stories on the 10s with Billy the Kid in
- 5:13Speaker 13: the morning.
- 5:14Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 5:16Speaker 7: All right, Candace Lopez, what's going on? Well, four Boyd
- 5:20Speaker 7: High School students have been arrested in connection with a
- 5:22Speaker 7: hazing incident. This allegedly happened in the field house at
- 5:26Speaker 7: the school. The Boyd Police Department responded to a criminal complaint.
- 5:30Speaker 7: That investigation led to the arrest of two juveniles and
- 5:33Speaker 7: two 17-year-olds who are being charged as adults. Those charges
- 5:37Speaker 7: include injury to a child, causing bodily injury and unlawful restraint.
- 5:42Speaker 7: And I just can't believe that it's so bad that
- 5:44Speaker 7: now you've got a felony as a 17-year-old.
- 5:46Speaker 14: Please.
- 5:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:48Speaker 1: That is not good to work. This is Boyd, not
- 5:49Speaker 1: McKinney Boyd High School.
- 5:50Speaker 7: Correct.
- 5:51Speaker 14: Boyd.
- 5:51Speaker 7: Boyd High School.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Boyd High School.
- 5:53Speaker 7: Yeah, four students. Yeah, interesting things in the news this
- 5:57Speaker 7: morning because two men were also being called the brisket bandits.
- 6:01Speaker 7: this week after stealing around $ 600 worth of meat from
- 6:04Speaker 7: Bear Creek Community Church. So I guess they were getting
- 6:08Speaker 7: ready to prepare their famous brisket for their annual fundraising dinner.
- 6:13Speaker 7: They were smoking 20 briskets out there. Two men walked
- 6:15Speaker 7: into the parking lot, within 20 minutes walked off with
- 6:18Speaker 7: this meat. What's interesting is they later checked the cameras
- 6:23Speaker 7: and found one of the men was attending services at
- 6:26Speaker 7: the church. So they were able to talk to him.
- 6:28Speaker 7: He told them who helped him and why. Turns out
- 6:31Speaker 7: this man was homeless and was taking the meat downtown
- 6:35Speaker 7: to downtown Irving to feed other homeless people.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Well, they do it the right way.
- 6:39Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:40Speaker 5: Don't steal the brisket and do that. I mean, yeah,
- 6:42Speaker 5: that's cool. You have a noble cause that you want
- 6:44Speaker 5: to do, but you got to do it. They're selling
- 6:46Speaker 5: this meat for charity, basically.
- 6:48Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 6:48Speaker 1: And that's what they're doing. You can't steal the meat. Well,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I was giving it to the homeless. Yeah, but you're
- 6:52Speaker 1: also stealing from the homeless.
- 6:53Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:54Speaker 7: Thankfully, they still had enough to serve the people that
- 6:57Speaker 7: were there. The church doesn't want jail time for them.
- 7:00Speaker 7: They're saying, come back, do community service. I think they
- 7:03Speaker 7: want like 200 hours of community service. And they say, look,
- 7:06Speaker 7: we'll feed you brisket for lunch.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fair.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:09Speaker 5: And if you want to do a great initiative and
- 7:11Speaker 5: something positive for the community, tell us. We'll buy extra briskets.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:15Speaker 1: And then we'll make that happen.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:17Speaker 7: Hopefully that does end up happening because clearly there's a need.
- 7:20Speaker 7: But such interesting things happening around the Metroplex this morning.
- 7:24Speaker 7: And a big announcement from MTV, guys. Madonna is going
- 7:27Speaker 7: to be opening the VMAs.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 7: This is going to be her first live performance at
- 7:33Speaker 7: the VMAs in 23 years. The last time, you know,
- 7:36Speaker 7: it was that iconic performance with Britney and Christina.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. The kiss. Yeah, exactly. Oh, is that what happened?
- 7:44Speaker 1: I wasn't paying attention. I was listening to music.
- 7:47Speaker 7: She's going to set a new record for most VMA
- 7:50Speaker 7: opening performances. She also leads the nomination with 11. She's
- 7:55Speaker 7: up for video of the year and artist of the year.
- 7:57Speaker 7: Of course, that show is going to happen September 27th
- 8:00Speaker 7: and Snoop Dogg is hosting.
- 8:01Speaker 1: That's all I'm thinking about. I'm laughing because I got
- 8:03Speaker 1: a shout out to my boy Coco. OK, who's listening
- 8:06Speaker 1: right now? I think we love Coco Coco. I'm laughing
- 8:09Speaker 1: because one of our first concerts ever was Madonna. Was it? Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 1: And this was in the 90s and we were kids.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:16Speaker 1: And we told my mom that the show was totally clean.
- 8:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 5: Like this is not a bad show at all. She
- 8:22Speaker 5: does like very. And my mom was just like. okay,
- 8:25Speaker 5: I guess, and let us go. We were like 11
- 8:27Speaker 5: at this show, and she comes out just topless. And
- 8:31Speaker 5: my mom was in the car waiting for us.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Oh, no. And we're at the show, and we're like, oh, my.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Our faces were just like, it was like her Vogue
- 8:39Speaker 1: tour or whatever. Oh, boy. It was pretty much like,
- 8:42Speaker 1: when I say rated R, it's rated R.
- 8:44Speaker 7: Not 68-year-old Madonna.
- 8:45Speaker 1: No, no. And we get out, and we get out
- 8:48Speaker 1: of the concert. My mom was like, how was it?
- 8:50Speaker 1: We were like, it was good. Yeah. It's so funny.
- 8:55Speaker 7: That's amazing. I can't remember if I closed this or not,
- 8:57Speaker 7: but those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 9:00Speaker 1: As producer Poo is here, I totally forgot to tell y'all.
- 9:02Speaker 1: You know what I got together?
- 9:03Speaker 6: What?
- 9:04Speaker 1: Doing it 650 today.
- 9:06Speaker 6: What?
- 9:07Speaker 1: Mean messages.
- 9:08Speaker 6: No. No, man.
- 9:10Speaker 7: Are you sure?
- 9:11Speaker 1: There's so many.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I am sure. Mean messages.
- 9:15Speaker 5: This is where we just read messages that we've gotten
- 9:17Speaker 5: that are, you know, a little bit sassy.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Oh, man. Someone mad at us.
- 9:21Speaker 5: And usually I get like 1,500 for me and there's
- 9:23Speaker 5: one for Candace Lopez. Or there's, you know, 15 for
- 9:27Speaker 5: Pooh and one for Candace Lopez. I only got like
- 9:30Speaker 5: maybe one. Candace, you got a couple. Pooh got a
- 9:33Speaker 5: couple too.
- 9:33Speaker 6: Really?
- 9:34Speaker 1: Yeah, some mean messages coming up at 6.50.
- 9:35Speaker 5: I can't wait. I know, you guys hate this. It
- 9:40Speaker 5: kind of makes me laugh. Jonas Brothers tickets up for grabs.
- 9:43Speaker 1: You want them. Who's this? This is Bailey. What's up, Bailey?
- 9:46Speaker 1: How are you?
- 9:47Speaker 15: I'm good.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Where are you from, Bailey?
- 9:49Speaker 15: I live in Springtown.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Oh, Springtown. I love Springtown. Guess what? You're calling number one. Congratulations.
- 9:56Speaker 15: Oh, my goodness. I was telling my daughter, I was like,
- 9:58Speaker 15: maybe I'll get it today.
- 9:59Speaker 1: You did. You got it today. You got a pair
- 10:01Speaker 1: of tickets to go see the Jonas Brothers. Congrats. Oh,
- 10:04Speaker 1: my goodness. Thank you. You're welcome. What are you doing
- 10:06Speaker 1: out in Springtown this morning? I'm headed to work. What's
- 10:09Speaker 1: the name of the barbecue place out there that everybody
- 10:11Speaker 1: talks about?
- 10:11Speaker 2: Woody's.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Woody's.
- 10:14Speaker 5: Yes, I haven't been yet, but I almost went the
- 10:17Speaker 5: other day when I was out that way, and I'm like, nah,
- 10:19Speaker 5: I don't have time.
- 10:19Speaker 1: But is it good?
- 10:20Speaker 15: Yeah, their loaded sides are really good.
- 10:26Speaker 1: That sounds good. I just got way too excited.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Okay, well, Bailey, thank you so much for listening, and
- 10:31Speaker 5: let us get you these tickets, okay?
- 10:32Speaker 1: Have a good time there.
- 10:34Speaker 16: Yes, thank you.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Love Springtown. I was out in Weatherford, so I was
- 10:38Speaker 1: close or whatever.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:39Speaker 1: At the world-famous Weatherford Crappie House. It's good? Fishing. Oh,
- 10:43Speaker 1: it's just a fishing pier.
- 10:44Speaker 6: Oh.
- 10:44Speaker 1: You don't want to eat there.
- 10:46Speaker 6: Oh.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Trust me.
- 10:47Speaker 7: Sounds like a place I want to eat.
- 10:48Speaker 6: No.
- 10:49Speaker 1: The Crappie House? No, it's literally just like a shack
- 10:53Speaker 1: on the water where you just fish.
- 10:54Speaker 6: Oh.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Do they have food? No, they have no food.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Oh.
- 10:58Speaker 1: They have a bait shop. There's a restaurant next to it,
- 10:59Speaker 1: but I forget what it's called.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:01Speaker 1: But there's some awesome people there.
- 11:04Speaker 6: Okay.
- 11:04Speaker 1: I will say that. Like, I met a homeless guy
- 11:06Speaker 1: last time I was there who had been living on
- 11:08Speaker 1: the pier for like two days.
- 11:10Speaker 6: Wow.
- 11:11Speaker 5: And I was like, oh, you come here often? He goes, well,
- 11:13Speaker 5: I've been here for two days. I go, oh, just
- 11:16Speaker 5: sleeping here?
- 11:17Speaker 1: And he's like, yeah. And I go, oh, cool. Kind
- 11:20Speaker 1: of sounded awesome. I kind of want to try that.
- 11:23Speaker 6: All right.
- 11:24Speaker 1: You ready for real or fake news?
- 11:25Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 11:26Speaker 5: I'm going to give you three headlines. You got to
- 11:27Speaker 5: tell me which story is the fake story. And the
- 11:29Speaker 5: news is crazy. So sometimes it's a little difficult to do.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Here we go. Headline number one. A woman named booze
- 11:36Speaker 1: assault store clerk because the line was too long. A
- 11:40Speaker 1: woman named booze assault store clerk because line was too long.
- 11:45Speaker 5: Headline number one. Headline number two. A man crashed his
- 11:48Speaker 5: car while putting on his deodorant. A man crashed his
- 11:52Speaker 5: car while putting on his deodorant. Headline number two. Headline
- 11:56Speaker 5: number three. Texas man sues car wash after rain falls
- 12:00Speaker 5: six hours later.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Oh, God. Texas man sues car wash after rain falls
- 12:07Speaker 1: six hours later. You have three headlines right there, one
- 12:10Speaker 1: of them. Only one is fake. You've got to tell
- 12:13Speaker 1: me which one. Candace, would you like to kick it
- 12:15Speaker 1: off and make first pick, or do you want to
- 12:16Speaker 1: pass it? To Clarence, a.k.a. LaPoopoo, a.k.a. Tito.
- 12:21Speaker 7: This is hard again today.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Or Theo.
- 12:24Speaker 7: I'm just going to pick one. Lock me in for
- 12:26Speaker 7: that last story, the car wash lawsuit.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Oh, you don't think that's real?
- 12:29Speaker 6: No.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Okay. You sure people sue? People sue for ridiculous things, Candace.
- 12:34Speaker 7: They do.
- 12:35Speaker 1: You want to be locked in?
- 12:36Speaker 7: Lock me in.
- 12:37Speaker 1: It is locked in.
- 12:37Speaker 6: Thanks.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Producer Poo, which one do you think is the fake story?
- 12:41Speaker 1: Lock me in for that second story, a man wrecks
- 12:44Speaker 1: after putting on D.O. Okay. All right, you want to
- 12:47Speaker 1: lock that in? Lock it in. Let's lock it in.
- 12:50Speaker 1: And the winner today is, wow, Candice. Let's go. She's
- 13:00Speaker 1: back on her game. Oh, we're back, baby.
- 13:03Speaker 7: We are so back.
- 13:04Speaker 1: We are so back. Now she starts winning again. Like,
- 13:06Speaker 1: one week, though, it was shaky.
- 13:08Speaker 7: Oh, yeah, it was.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I had a bad week.
- 13:10Speaker 7: I didn't trust myself anymore.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I know, but you're locked back in. Yeah. You're locked
- 13:14Speaker 1: back in.
- 13:14Speaker 5: All right, let's get to the real stories, because the
- 13:17Speaker 5: fake story was the guy suing the car wash because
- 13:19Speaker 5: it rained.
- 13:20Speaker 1: But I will say this. If you want it to rain,
- 13:22Speaker 1: that's what I should do.
- 13:23Speaker 7: Yeah, everybody wash your car today. Let's do it.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Okay.
- 13:25Speaker 7: I'll wash mine today.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I'll wash mine today, too, and buy it.
- 13:28Speaker 7: That's such a good idea.
- 13:29Speaker 1: And it'll randomly rain.
- 13:30Speaker 7: Okay.
- 13:31Speaker 1: It'll randomly rain by 6 p.m.
- 13:33Speaker 6: Who's in?
- 13:33Speaker 7: Who's coming with us?
- 13:34Speaker 1: Okay, I'm doing it. All right. We won't do a
- 13:36Speaker 1: rain dance. We'll just do that.
- 13:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:38Speaker 1: All right. Let's get to this story.
- 13:40Speaker 5: A guy crashed his car while putting on his deodorant.
- 13:43Speaker 5: That is a real story. So this 22-year-old guy in
- 13:45Speaker 5: Florida crashed his truck Sunday morning while attempting to put
- 13:48Speaker 5: on his deodorant. Thankfully, nobody got hurt. But you've got
- 13:51Speaker 5: to be very careful. But, yeah, cops pulled over, and
- 13:53Speaker 5: they're like, I mean, he totaled his car. They're like,
- 13:56Speaker 5: what happened? Because they're testing him for, you know, were
- 13:58Speaker 5: you driving and, you know, under some kind of influence
- 14:00Speaker 5: or something? And he's like, no, I was putting on
- 14:03Speaker 5: my deodorant, and my shirt got stuck on my arm.
- 14:08Speaker 5: And I couldn't steer, and I just crashed into a tree.
- 14:12Speaker 5: I mean, that seems... Come on.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. So you never hear.
- 14:15Speaker 5: That happening to a woman, and people say... There's a
- 14:18Speaker 5: bad stereotype about women can't drive.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Let me tell you something. I've seen women do some
- 14:22Speaker 1: amazing things while driving.
- 14:24Speaker 7: Right, put on makeup, eat food.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Turn around, smack a kid in the backseat. Exactly. Throw
- 14:30Speaker 1: a chancla at a kid from across the minivan, hit
- 14:33Speaker 1: him in the forehead with perfect aim, not even hitting
- 14:36Speaker 1: the rumble strips.
- 14:37Speaker 15: No.
- 14:37Speaker 12: No.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 14:39Speaker 7: This guy's just trying to put deodorant on him.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Yeah, this guy crashed.
- 14:41Speaker 6: He can't do that.
- 14:42Speaker 1: That's a rookie move.
- 14:44Speaker 7: For sure.
- 14:45Speaker 5: But I will say, do not do that. I do
- 14:47Speaker 5: not advocate you throwing chanclas at kids in the backseat.
- 14:50Speaker 9: No.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I mean, I do if they're bad, but pull over.
- 14:52Speaker 7: And do it.
- 14:53Speaker 5: Just no distracted driving. But I've done some things driving. Like,
- 14:57Speaker 5: I almost crashed one time wearing flip-flops.
- 14:59Speaker 6: Why?
- 15:00Speaker 1: Because a flop got stuck in the gas pedal. Oh, yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 1: You got to be careful out there.
- 15:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:06Speaker 7: Flip-flops and platforms.
- 15:07Speaker 15: Oh, yeah.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Platforms too, girl. When I wear platforms, I got to
- 15:10Speaker 1: take them off.
- 15:10Speaker 7: Yeah, you got to scoot your seat back.
- 15:12Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah.
- 15:13Speaker 7: People forget.
- 15:14Speaker 1: And when I wear my stilettos, girl, don't even get
- 15:16Speaker 1: me started. Watch yourself. All right. Headline. Next headline.
- 15:20Speaker 5: A woman named Booze assaulted a clerk because the line
- 15:23Speaker 5: was too long. A 38-year-old woman in Maryland named Tiffany
- 15:27Speaker 5: Booze flipped out on a store clerk earlier this month.
- 15:31Speaker 5: I guess the line was too long. She said something
- 15:34Speaker 5: about it. She was like, hey, I don't know what
- 15:35Speaker 5: you got going on up there, but let's hurry this
- 15:38Speaker 5: thing up. The clerk said, if you don't like it, leave.
- 15:42Speaker 5: She said, excuse me? And Tiffany Booze put down her
- 15:45Speaker 5: booze and punched.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Her in the face. Punched her right in her face.
- 15:50Speaker 17: Wow.
- 15:51Speaker 1: And a brawl started. They started fighting at the local,
- 15:55Speaker 1: you know, quick and go. Yeah.
- 15:57Speaker 5: Whatever it's called. Either way, she left before the cops
- 16:01Speaker 5: could get there. This is why I love these stories,
- 16:04Speaker 5: because there's a girl named Tiffany Booze, buying booze, gets
- 16:08Speaker 5: mad because the line's too long, beats up the store clerk,
- 16:10Speaker 5: and then leaves before she can get caught, then comes
- 16:14Speaker 5: back the next day to buy more booze. And they're like, wait,
- 16:20Speaker 5: you're the girl who punched me in the face.
- 16:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Right. Calls the cops, and they catch her.
- 16:24Speaker 18: SMH.
- 16:26Speaker 7: Come on.
- 16:26Speaker 8: SMH.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Get your life together.
- 16:29Speaker 5: She was immediately taken into custody. She was charged with
- 16:32Speaker 5: five counts of, oh, she also had a weapon on
- 16:35Speaker 5: her the second time she came.
- 16:37Speaker 1: So maybe, I don't know what she was doing. Then
- 16:38Speaker 1: she got charged with first degree assault and a ton
- 16:40Speaker 1: of other charges. Wow. Oh, gosh.
- 16:43Speaker 5: And on top of that, the first time she was around,
- 16:45Speaker 5: they knew who she was because she dropped her wallet.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Listen, criminals are not the smartest. No. If you're going
- 16:51Speaker 1: to beat somebody up and try to steal something or
- 16:53Speaker 1: do something, don't leave your wallet behind.
- 16:55Speaker 17: Right.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I can't believe I have to tell you that. Here
- 16:57Speaker 1: you go.
- 16:58Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 16:58Speaker 1: All right, let's get to it next. I'm excited. Mean Messages.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Are you ready?
- 17:04Speaker 12: No.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Well, I am.
- 17:06Speaker 5: Mix 102.9. It's Bailey the Kid, Candice Lopez, producer Pooh.
- 17:09Speaker 5: We have a dirty little secret coming up at 7.30.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Get ready for that. We also have, oh, some gas.
- 17:13Speaker 5: Free gas at 8.30. That's your first shot to winning.
- 17:16Speaker 5: The jackpot is up to 400 bucks.
- 17:19Speaker 18: Oh, good.
- 17:19Speaker 1: $ 400 jackpot. 8.30 if you want to win that. All right. Now,
- 17:22Speaker 1: I know Candice hates this. Pooh hates it.
- 17:25Speaker 5: It's not that I love it, but, you know, I mean, listen,
- 17:27Speaker 5: we have so many amazing, we call them OGs.
- 17:31Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 17:31Speaker 1: If you're a listener, we don't like calling you a listener.
- 17:33Speaker 1: That sounds so just informal. Right.
- 17:35Speaker 7: Like we're a talker.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yeah, like we're a talker and you're a listener.
- 17:38Speaker 2: No.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Weird. You're a part of the show, too. So you're
- 17:41Speaker 1: an OG, right?
- 17:42Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 17:42Speaker 5: And, well, sometimes we get messages that aren't the nicest
- 17:46Speaker 5: or they're just playful.
- 17:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 17:48Speaker 1: However you want to say it. We call them mean messages.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Candace hates it.
- 17:52Speaker 14: Are you ready?
- 17:53Speaker 7: It's not my favorite.
- 17:54Speaker 15: I'll be honest.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Can I go over some of my favorites of all time?
- 17:57Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay.
- 17:58Speaker 7: You're going to rehash those messages?
- 18:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Like, one of the funniest ones was about Pooh. Carlos
- 18:05Speaker 1: in Garland.
- 18:06Speaker 5: He said, damn, I can't believe Pooh has to sit
- 18:08Speaker 5: down to tie his shoes.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Oh.
- 18:11Speaker 6: Oh.
- 18:11Speaker 1: The last time Pooh touched his toes, gas was under $ 2. Oh.
- 18:17Speaker 1: That was a good one.
- 18:18Speaker 5: That was one of my favorites back in the day.
- 18:21Speaker 5: Another one is Tucker and Fort Worth had something funny
- 18:23Speaker 5: to say about Candace back in the day that I
- 18:25Speaker 5: always remember this one.
- 18:27Speaker 1: He said, all I know is I'm jealous, dot, dot, dot.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Candace treats her sourdough starter better than my wife treats me.
- 18:36Speaker 5: And then there's a million about me. I mean, like
- 18:38Speaker 5: Todd Mesquite. This is the last time he said, Billy,
- 18:42Speaker 5: grow up and get a real man bag. With that backpack,
- 18:45Speaker 5: you look like a lost latchkey kid.
- 18:48Speaker 6: Oh.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Whose mom forgot to pick him up. Wow.
- 18:52Speaker 6: I forgot.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Okay, Pooh. Don't make me read some more about you.
- 18:56Speaker 12: Okay.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Okay. Should we get into the new ones?
- 18:58Speaker 14: Yeah, I guess so.
- 18:59Speaker 7: Let's get into them.
- 19:00Speaker 6: All right, here we go.
- 19:00Speaker 5: These are just ones that I've found sometimes in our DMs,
- 19:03Speaker 5: Mix 1029 FM or on Instagram, whatever.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Email. What I got via email. Wow. Like it's 1980.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I know. This is from Hank in Bedford.
- 19:14Speaker 10: Hank.
- 19:14Speaker 8: Okay.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Who is this about? Oh, it's about Candace.
- 19:17Speaker 8: Oh.
- 19:18Speaker 7: Awesome.
- 19:18Speaker 5: See, Candace gets a lot of grief because, well, you
- 19:21Speaker 5: cook some stuff sometimes.
- 19:22Speaker 7: Yeah, sometimes.
- 19:23Speaker 5: And yesterday you happened to cook some sourdough crackers for us.
- 19:27Speaker 7: Yeah, they were amazing.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 19:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I thought they were really good. No, they were good, Candace.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Thank you. You did a good job. Pooh had a
- 19:37Speaker 1: unique reaction to them. Yeah. I will say that.
- 19:39Speaker 7: That's one way to put it.
- 19:40Speaker 1: He said they lacked seasoning. That's what poo said i
- 19:43Speaker 1: disagree okay well hank.
- 19:45Speaker 5: And medford said not sure y'all saw the news but
- 19:49Speaker 5: the stars announced that they will be using candace's sourdough
- 19:52Speaker 5: crackers as pucks this upcoming season oh my.
- 19:55Speaker 7: God dude they were soft what do you mean isn't
- 20:02Speaker 7: a hockey puck like hard and heavy.
- 20:07Speaker 1: I don't know. But Hank and Bedford got me with
- 20:10Speaker 1: that one.
- 20:11Speaker 7: I'll send him over to training camp today.
- 20:13Speaker 1: He got me with that one. He got me with
- 20:15Speaker 1: that one. Now, this one is interesting because this is from,
- 20:20Speaker 1: there was no name. It said from Pooh's friend in Wiley.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Oh.
- 20:24Speaker 1: My friend in Wiley. Pooh's friend in Wiley.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Okay.
- 20:28Speaker 5: He said, hey, Pooh brought me some of those crackers
- 20:30Speaker 5: home yesterday. My son and I were eating them at
- 20:32Speaker 5: the park, and I threw one to a duck. I
- 20:35Speaker 5: couldn't believe it when the duck spit it out and
- 20:37Speaker 5: back at me.
- 20:40Speaker 7: Oh, come on. All right.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Come on. That's rude.
- 20:44Speaker 7: That's mean.
- 20:45Speaker 1: That's so rude. Okay, here's one about, oh, this one's
- 20:49Speaker 1: about Pooh. Okay.
- 20:50Speaker 7: Yay.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Good, yeah. Megan in Garland.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Oh, Lord.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Said, well, I saw Pooh driving the other day on 635,
- 20:57Speaker 5: and now I know why y'all say he's a bad driver.
- 21:00Speaker 1: He is awful. I'd rather drive with my Meemaw.
- 21:04Speaker 13: Oh.
- 21:05Speaker 1: And she's been dead for 12 years. Oh, God. What? God, man.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Which I believe that because poo is a bad driver.
- 21:15Speaker 1: I'm not a bad driver. I can't. Okay, here's one
- 21:19Speaker 1: about me. I knew it was coming. Yes, finally. When
- 21:21Speaker 1: I saw this one, I was like, all right. And
- 21:22Speaker 1: you know what I knew? What it was going to
- 21:24Speaker 1: be about. Because, you know, I've gotten them about my
- 21:26Speaker 1: flat butt.
- 21:27Speaker 7: Your flat butt, your hand broken.
- 21:29Speaker 1: What could it be? This one is about, oh, yeah.
- 21:31Speaker 7: Your head.
- 21:33Speaker 1: What about my head, Candace?
- 21:34Speaker 7: Well, I'm just saying, you talk about sometimes how you
- 21:36Speaker 7: have your size of your head.
- 21:37Speaker 6: Oh.
- 21:39Speaker 1: No, those are the top things people mention about you.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Let's read some more about Candace. No, you're right.
- 21:45Speaker 5: But this one happens to be about, I guess, I
- 21:48Speaker 5: got so many DMs about how I was a hoarder
- 21:50Speaker 5: in my cabinet. My kitchen cabinet was messy.
- 21:53Speaker 18: Right.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Because there was a picture of it. It
- 21:55Speaker 1: wasn't even that messy. There was just stuff in it.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:57Speaker 1: To me, it wasn't messy.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Storage.
- 21:59Speaker 5: I guess every girl in my DMs was like, oh,
- 22:02Speaker 5: my God, you need to organize that.
- 22:04Speaker 1: And I'm like, why?
- 22:05Speaker 6: Why?
- 22:06Speaker 1: It's an air fryer. There's an Instapot up there. There's
- 22:09Speaker 1: a toaster. Right. Yeah, they're all over each other, but
- 22:12Speaker 1: they're in there.
- 22:13Speaker 6: Right.
- 22:14Speaker 1: To me, that's organized. Right. All right.
- 22:16Speaker 5: Well, Annie in Waxahachie says, good Lord, Billy, I don't
- 22:22Speaker 5: know what's messier, your kitchen cabinets or your love life.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Oh!
- 22:28Speaker 1: That's rude.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Wow, Annie.
- 22:31Speaker 1: That's rude. That's so messed up. Annie and Hatchie just... Okay. Oh, man. Okay.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Now there's two more about Pooh. Oh, yeah. People were
- 22:46Speaker 1: going in on Pooh. Oh, yeah. Andy and Frisco said,
- 22:51Speaker 1: I saw.
- 22:51Speaker 4: I.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Don't know if I'm going to get Pooh.
- 22:53Speaker 6: Oh, Lord.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Lord, send me help. Andy and Frisco says, I saw
- 22:57Speaker 1: Pooh wearing an army hoodie the other day. Okay. Thank
- 23:00Speaker 1: you for your service. I heard you were in the
- 23:03Speaker 1: enchilada infantry. Then he says, dot, dot, dot. Or were
- 23:12Speaker 1: you in the big back brigade?
- 23:18Speaker 7: Big back brigade.
- 23:20Speaker 6: Enchilada infantry.
- 23:22Speaker 1: No, Pooh was in the army. So, Pooh, thank you
- 23:24Speaker 1: for your service.
- 23:25Speaker 7: He was a gravy seal.
- 23:27Speaker 18: Oh, my God.
- 23:28Speaker 1: He was a gravy seal. Oh, I can't. Piece of
- 23:36Speaker 1: enchilada infantry.
- 23:38Speaker 7: All right.
- 23:39Speaker 1: And then Christina and Mesquite. There's more? Yeah, there's one
- 23:42Speaker 1: more about Pooh. Oh, God.
- 23:45Speaker 5: Christina Mesquite says, Pooh, I'm in the car with my
- 23:47Speaker 5: aunt and she thinks you're hot.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Okay. All right. Dot, dot, dot. No, seriously.
- 23:53Speaker 5: She's worried because you always wear that same hoodie. You're
- 23:55Speaker 5: going to get heat stroke.
- 23:56Speaker 6: Oh.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I thought, oh, this is going to be nuts. Pooh's hot. No, literally. Oh, no.
- 24:09Speaker 1: People are worried. You do wear the hoodie in that
- 24:11Speaker 1: 100 degree heat, Pooh. Yeah, yeah. Is that just something
- 24:14Speaker 1: you have to do in the enchilada inventory? Yeah, I
- 24:16Speaker 1: just do it.
- 24:16Speaker 19: Heat training.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Maybe that's why sometimes he forgets things.
- 24:22Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Maybe you're just under a continual heat stroke. I think
- 24:27Speaker 1: we figured it out. Sergeant Big Back at the Big Back.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Texas Top Stories.
- 24:35Speaker 13: Texas Top Stories on the dance with Billy the.

- 24:51Speaker 1: Five times fast. You can do it. Candice Lopez, what
- 24:54Speaker 1: is going on?
- 24:54Speaker 7: Well, I don't know what it is about today, but
- 24:56Speaker 7: some of the best events in the Metroplex are opening.
- 24:59Speaker 7: So this is exciting. Addison Oktoberfest starts today in Addison
- 25:02Speaker 7: Circle Park. The Plano Balloon Festival starts tonight at 5 p.m.
- 25:07Speaker 7: The first balloon glow is at 730 tonight. And then
- 25:10Speaker 7: those are going to happen Friday and Saturday nights at 730.
- 25:13Speaker 7: But then everyone looks forward to the big balloon launch.
- 25:15Speaker 7: That's Saturday morning at 7 a.m. And on top of that,
- 25:18Speaker 7: Great Fest opens at 11 a.m.
- 25:19Speaker 10: Today.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Gosh.
- 25:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 25:21Speaker 1: There's a lot going on.
- 25:22Speaker 7: Those are like some of the best events in the
- 25:24Speaker 7: Metroplex all year. How do you pick one?
- 25:26Speaker 1: I don't know. Well, yeah, you just do all three.
- 25:29Speaker 7: You do a little tour.
- 25:30Speaker 1: It's just hard to get into fall stuff when it's
- 25:31Speaker 1: 100 degrees. I know.
- 25:33Speaker 7: It should be nice and comfortable right now for all
- 25:35Speaker 7: these events, but hopefully people can power through.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Well, at least at night, it's going to cool down
- 25:40Speaker 1: a little bit. It's in the 70s now, which I
- 25:42Speaker 1: know sounds like.
- 25:43Speaker 7: It's bearable.
- 25:43Speaker 1: It's bearable.
- 25:44Speaker 7: For sure, guys. It is also North Texas Giving Day.
- 25:47Speaker 7: This is the largest community-wide online giving event in the country.
- 25:52Speaker 7: So there are all types of ways that you can help.
- 25:54Speaker 7: You can donate to really whatever cause speaks to you.
- 25:58Speaker 7: If it's animal rescue, health care, schools, food pantries, you
- 26:01Speaker 7: can find a list of organizations at NorthTexasGivingDay.org. And then 100%
- 26:05Speaker 7: of donations go directly to North Texas Giving Day. to
- 26:09Speaker 7: your chosen nonprofit today. So yeah, if you're feeling helpful,
- 26:13Speaker 7: log on, you find a cause you like and support.
- 26:15Speaker 1: We might have a little surprise later in the show too,
- 26:17Speaker 1: that you can help with.
- 26:19Speaker 7: Okay.
- 26:20Speaker 5: And yeah, I can't say yet just what it is,
- 26:24Speaker 5: but it might have to do with the state fair
- 26:25Speaker 5: of Texas.
- 26:26Speaker 1: It might have to do with me walking to the
- 26:28Speaker 1: fair in a corny dog.
- 26:29Speaker 7: Right.
- 26:30Speaker 5: Outfit and poo. Who's walking this year. And he says
- 26:32Speaker 5: he's going to make it all the way this year.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I am. I plan on it. All 15 miles. Ooh,
- 26:37Speaker 1: I thought it was 14. But okay.
- 26:38Speaker 7: I thought it was 13.1.
- 26:39Speaker 1: It's pretty much 15 because I usually get lost. That's true.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Last year I did. Yeah, you did. We'll have that
- 26:46Speaker 1: a little bit later on today.
- 26:47Speaker 7: Okay, I love that. Guys, dictionary.com just added 5,900 new words.
- 26:52Speaker 7: They made more than 1,200 edits to their latest update.
- 26:55Speaker 7: Do you want to know some of the new words?
- 26:57Speaker 1: I would love to.
- 26:57Speaker 7: Yeah, it's pretty fun. Okay, goaded.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Okay, goaded. That makes sense.
- 27:02Speaker 5: But everything's getting in the dictionary now. Goaded is basically
- 27:05Speaker 5: saying you're the best at what you do.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Right.
- 27:07Speaker 7: That is in there now. Glow up, they've added.
- 27:10Speaker 9: Oh.
- 27:10Speaker 7: Which is fun. An upgrade in your looks, confidence, style.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Okay, that's fine.
- 27:14Speaker 7: Here's one that I hadn't heard before. Do you guys
- 27:16Speaker 7: know what reply guy is?
- 27:18Speaker 1: Reply guy?
- 27:19Speaker 6: No.
- 27:19Speaker 1: What is that?
- 27:20Speaker 7: So it's a man who's constantly popping up in women's
- 27:23Speaker 7: social media replies. Usually in a way that's like annoying
- 27:27Speaker 7: or inappropriate. So yeah, you don't want to be the
- 27:30Speaker 7: reply guy.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Don't be the reply guy.
- 27:32Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Is this the guy that's in the DMs or the
- 27:34Speaker 1: comments or both?
- 27:35Speaker 7: I guess both, but we know this because they're in
- 27:38Speaker 7: the comments.
- 27:38Speaker 5: So women tell me that sometimes there's guys in their
- 27:41Speaker 5: DMs that just don't stop talking to them even though
- 27:44Speaker 5: they never reply.
- 27:45Speaker 7: Really?
- 27:46Speaker 1: Yeah. Like they just don't stop. Like, hey, how you doing? Oh,
- 27:49Speaker 1: that looks good. You're cooking some. Save me some. And
- 27:52Speaker 1: like there's never a response.
- 27:54Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 27:54Speaker 1: But yet the guy's just relentless. That must be reply guy.
- 27:58Speaker 7: It must be a couple of other ones. Trauma Bond
- 28:01Speaker 7: is in there now. IYKYK is in there now. If
- 28:05Speaker 7: you know, you know.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Okay.
- 28:07Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 28:07Speaker 7: So they're going to announce their word of the year soon.
- 28:09Speaker 7: But last year it was six, seven. If you remember
- 28:13Speaker 7: how serious we are about.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Yeah. The dictionary is getting wild.
- 28:17Speaker 7: It is a real quick guys. Travis Kelsey was reportedly
- 28:20Speaker 7: named as one of several victims in a $ 35 million
- 28:23Speaker 7: Ponzi scheme. So the man responsible for all of this,
- 28:27Speaker 7: I guess he was promising investors pretty big returns before
- 28:30Speaker 7: this all fell apart. It's not clear how much money
- 28:32Speaker 7: Travis may have lost in this scheme, but But this
- 28:35Speaker 7: guy was running a financial firm that invested clients' money
- 28:38Speaker 7: into a tobacco manufacturing company, I guess, overseas. And when
- 28:42Speaker 7: that failed, he was paying older clients money from the
- 28:45Speaker 7: new clients while... You know, flying on PJs, luxury vacays.
- 28:49Speaker 1: This guy ripped off a lot of people.
- 28:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 28:51Speaker 5: And I'm talking millions of dollars and Travis being one
- 28:55Speaker 5: of them. And you know Taylor Swift is so mad
- 28:56Speaker 5: right now. You know, she's like, you idiot.
- 28:59Speaker 7: Right.
- 29:00Speaker 1: You're really going to give this guy a million dollars
- 29:01Speaker 1: to go invest? Right.
- 29:03Speaker 5: Just let my CPA handle it for now. My manager
- 29:06Speaker 5: is going to take over the finances, Travis.
- 29:08Speaker 7: But also, did you notice that million?
- 29:10Speaker 1: No. Just catch football. Just catch footballs, Travis, and run.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I'll handle the rest.
- 29:15Speaker 7: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas top stories.
- 29:19Speaker 5: And Juan, thank you for listening in Arlington. And people
- 29:21Speaker 5: always do this, and I hate it. They'll call up
- 29:24Speaker 5: and be like, oh, what do you do? And Juan says, oh,
- 29:27Speaker 5: I'm just a janitor, you know, whatever. No, you're not
- 29:30Speaker 5: just a janitor.
- 29:31Speaker 7: Yeah, thanks for that.
- 29:33Speaker 5: Thank you for what you do, because I think people just, well,
- 29:36Speaker 5: I don't have a really cool job. No, you have
- 29:37Speaker 5: a job that really matters.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Right. It really matters because who's going to keep the
- 29:42Speaker 1: schools clean?
- 29:43Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 29:43Speaker 5: Who's going to make sure that we're, you know, it's
- 29:45Speaker 5: not dirty. Who's going to make sure that there's, you know,
- 29:48Speaker 5: new roads and you're out here in 100 degree heat working.
- 29:51Speaker 5: So thank you for what you do. And I also said,
- 29:53Speaker 5: you know what, stop calling yourself a janitor if you
- 29:55Speaker 5: think that's just whatever. So we made up some fancy
- 29:58Speaker 5: names for just some regular jobs.
- 30:01Speaker 1: So I told Juan, he's not a janitor. He's a
- 30:04Speaker 1: sanitation engineer.
- 30:06Speaker 7: Oh, yeah, that's good. That's true.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that does sound fancy, though. Do you like that?
- 30:10Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:10Speaker 5: Or we could call bus drivers, because a lot of
- 30:13Speaker 5: bus drivers listen to us. Mass transit facilitators.
- 30:17Speaker 6: Oh.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Do you like that one?
- 30:19Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Or what about a waiter or waitress? You're not just
- 30:22Speaker 1: a waiter or waitress. How about a master janitor? Field
- 30:26Speaker 1: nutrition consultant.
- 30:28Speaker 8: Oh.
- 30:29Speaker 6: Okay.
- 30:29Speaker 8: Okay.
- 30:30Speaker 6: All right.
- 30:31Speaker 1: We'll work on that one.
- 30:32Speaker 7: Consultant part.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Yeah. Personal trainers.
- 30:35Speaker 19: Okay.
- 30:36Speaker 5: Even though that personal trainer job is kind of like
- 30:37Speaker 5: a cool job, that could be a physical lifestyle consultant.
- 30:41Speaker 12: Oh.
- 30:41Speaker 9: Oh, yeah.
- 30:42Speaker 1: That does sound fun.
- 30:43Speaker 7: That is good.
- 30:44Speaker 1: What would our fancy name be? I'm trying to think.
- 30:46Speaker 1: What would our names be?
- 30:47Speaker 6: Oh, boy.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Because people just hit DJs. And I'm like, I don't know.
- 30:51Speaker 1: We need to come up with something with us.
- 30:52Speaker 12: Right.
- 30:53Speaker 1: But you can't really... Make us sound cooler than we are.
- 30:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:56Speaker 20: Unfortunately.
- 30:57Speaker 7: We're facilitating things and consulting all day.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I know. Dirty little secret provider. Which is coming up next. Yeah,
- 31:05Speaker 1: we're a good mood engineer.
- 31:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Trying to wake you up, engineers.
- 31:09Speaker 6: Right?
- 31:11Speaker 1: Get it off your chest.
- 31:12Speaker 13: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 31:15Speaker 13: Morning on Mix 102.9.
- 31:16Speaker 6: Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
- 31:19Speaker 5: All right, it's Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Poo,
- 31:21Speaker 5: and if you've got a secret, you let us know.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Anytime you want, it's time to confess.
- 31:24Speaker 6: 833-787-1029.
- 31:28Speaker 5: Doesn't matter what kind of secret it is. Big secret,
- 31:31Speaker 5: little secret, serious secret, silly secret.
- 31:34Speaker 1: And you got one. What's up?
- 31:35Speaker 2: Okay, so this is going to make me sound like
- 31:37Speaker 2: a horrible person, but around one of my best friends,
- 31:40Speaker 2: I pretend that I'm broke.
- 31:42Speaker 1: I know the feeling. You pretend that you're broke around
- 31:48Speaker 1: one of your friends? Why one of your friends?
- 31:50Speaker 2: One of my friends. Okay, so first of all, I
- 31:53Speaker 2: just want to say I'm not broke. I have a
- 31:55Speaker 2: good job. I pay my bills. I have savings and everything.
- 31:59Speaker 2: But I have a budget and my friend does not
- 32:02Speaker 2: understand the concept of a budget because she comes from
- 32:05Speaker 2: a very wealthy family. Like her dad is worth millions.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Oh, wow. She's single?
- 32:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Okay. Just saying.
- 32:17Speaker 2: I'll let you know. No, not right now.
- 32:20Speaker 1: She might be soon. So she just spends whatever all
- 32:23Speaker 1: the time. She's just doing her thing.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Like she's always like, you know, let's go shopping.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Let's like go to a concert. Let's get our nails done.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Let's take a trip. And I'm just like, that stuff
- 32:34Speaker 2: adds up. Like I can't casually drop like $ 300 on
- 32:38Speaker 2: concert tickets every other weekend.
- 32:41Speaker 6: Right.
- 32:41Speaker 1: No, of course, especially right now, everything's so expensive. You
- 32:44Speaker 1: got to sit. Yeah. You got to plan everything out
- 32:46Speaker 1: that you're going to spend. It's, it's hard out here
- 32:48Speaker 1: right now. So, so you pretend like you're broke so
- 32:51Speaker 1: you don't have to hang out or how do you,
- 32:52Speaker 1: why do you do it? Yeah.
- 32:54Speaker 2: So like, okay. So like a year ago I started
- 32:56Speaker 2: telling her like, you know, you know, I, I can't, I'm,
- 32:59Speaker 2: I'm struggling right now. And you know, think times are tough,
- 33:03Speaker 2: but because she has money, like she'll just immediately say like, Oh,
- 33:05Speaker 2: don't worry about it. I got you.
- 33:07Speaker 7: Oh, and Oh, do you let her go?
- 33:10Speaker 15: Uh-huh.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:14Speaker 7: You let her pay for stuff?
- 33:15Speaker 2: She's paid for my nails, like dinners, concert shopping.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Really?
- 33:23Speaker 5: So you're saying it because you're saying I'm broke, so
- 33:26Speaker 5: she'll just go ahead and go, girl, I got it.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Don't worry about it. Just a couple hundred bucks.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Well, that wasn't the plan. I just thought she would
- 33:34Speaker 2: kind of like ease up and realize like we're not
- 33:36Speaker 2: in the same tax bracket. Right. OK, it kind of backfired.
- 33:41Speaker 2: But a few months ago, I took it way too far.
- 33:43Speaker 2: My OK, so first, like a little backstory, my my
- 33:47Speaker 2: dad got pretty sick and he was dealing with some
- 33:49Speaker 2: medical issues. And like, thankfully, he has really good insurance
- 33:53Speaker 2: and financially, you know, he's he's OK. He's fine. OK,
- 33:56Speaker 2: but my friend asked if I wanted to go to
- 33:58Speaker 2: Cabo with her and I didn't want to spend the money.
- 34:01Speaker 2: So I told her, like, you know, I can't. with
- 34:04Speaker 2: everything going on with my dad, you know, like I
- 34:06Speaker 2: just basically said, I've been helping my parents with like,
- 34:09Speaker 2: you know, medical bills and stuff like that, which was
- 34:12Speaker 2: a complete lie.
- 34:13Speaker 1: But your dad is sick. He is unfortunately sick.
- 34:16Speaker 2: He is sick.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Okay. Got it. All right.
- 34:18Speaker 5: Sorry to hear that. So you tell her you can't
- 34:19Speaker 5: cause you got to help with medical bills and stuff.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 34:23Speaker 2: But then a couple of weeks later, she like randomly
- 34:27Speaker 2: comes over to my house and she wanted to talk.
- 34:29Speaker 2: And then she handed me a check for like five
- 34:32Speaker 2: thousand dollars.
- 34:34Speaker 1: What?
- 34:35Speaker 17: To help?
- 34:37Speaker 1: Yes.
- 34:37Speaker 2: She said, like, you know, like, I know you've been
- 34:39Speaker 2: stressed about your dad and like you can use this for,
- 34:42Speaker 2: you know, medical bills or like whatever your family needs.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 34:45Speaker 7: That is so sweet.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Very sweet.
- 34:48Speaker 2: I know. And, like, I started crying because, like, it
- 34:51Speaker 2: was the nice, it was literally one of the nicest
- 34:53Speaker 2: things anybody has ever done for me. But also, I
- 34:57Speaker 2: knew I was, like, full of crap.
- 34:59Speaker 7: Right.
- 35:00Speaker 2: And so I almost told her the truth, but I didn't.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Okay. Let me ask you this, and I'm going to,
- 35:07Speaker 1: just be honest. Oh, God. Did you take the check
- 35:11Speaker 1: and cash it?
- 35:12Speaker 2: I took the check. Oh!
- 35:15Speaker 1: Wow.
- 35:17Speaker 2: I know.
- 35:17Speaker 11: I know.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I know how bad it sounds.
- 35:20Speaker 1: My sister.
- 35:21Speaker 2: In my head, I'm thinking, I'm thinking, like, her family's
- 35:24Speaker 2: so wealthy. Like, $ 5, 000 is probably like $ 20.
- 35:27Speaker 18: Wow.
- 35:28Speaker 2: You know what I mean? For a normal person.
- 35:31Speaker 7: You are justifying it to yourself.
- 35:33Speaker 1: And you're right.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 35:34Speaker 1: But at the same time, she thinks she's given that $ 5, 000. Yeah,
- 35:37Speaker 1: she thinks she's given that $ 5, 000 to help your family,
- 35:40Speaker 1: which is incredibly sweet.
- 35:41Speaker 5: What a great friend to do that. Whether she has
- 35:44Speaker 5: money or not, you can't expect people to do that.
- 35:46Speaker 9: No.
- 35:47Speaker 1: So that was very nice of her. No, no. And
- 35:49Speaker 1: then you take the money and you're like, now I
- 35:51Speaker 1: got money for Cabo.
- 35:53Speaker 2: I couldn't give it to my dad because he'd be
- 35:55Speaker 2: so pissed that, like, I was going around telling people
- 35:58Speaker 2: I'm broke and, like, paying his medical bills. I told
- 36:02Speaker 2: my friend that my dad is really prideful and, like,
- 36:04Speaker 2: probably wouldn't accept the money directly, but that I gave
- 36:07Speaker 2: it to my mom because, like, she handles all their bills.
- 36:10Speaker 2: bills and that's obviously a lie.
- 36:12Speaker 1: So another lie i still.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Have like another one yeah yeah i still have most of.
- 36:18Speaker 5: The money oh you do okay what are you gonna
- 36:20Speaker 5: spend it i feel like you gotta do something nice
- 36:22Speaker 5: or good with it i.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Did i actually okay so i did get him a
- 36:25Speaker 2: really nice recliner so he'd be like comfortable at home
- 36:28Speaker 2: while he's recovering oh so some of them and he
- 36:31Speaker 2: went towards him.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Okay Did you go to Goodwill to get it?
- 36:36Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 36:37Speaker 2: No.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Okay.
- 36:39Speaker 2: No. Brand new. Brand new.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Brand new recliner. Well, that's nice. So you did pay
- 36:44Speaker 1: it forward, kind of.
- 36:45Speaker 17: Wow.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Good confession. That is a good secret. I mean, you're
- 36:49Speaker 1: riding a very shady, blurred, ethical line here.
- 36:53Speaker 7: Right.
- 36:53Speaker 1: You know?
- 36:54Speaker 2: It's eating me up a little bit. I'm going to
- 36:56Speaker 2: be honest.
- 36:57Speaker 1: What a good friend. Don't lose her, though. I mean,
- 36:59Speaker 1: not just because she's rich, but she has a... Big heart.
- 37:02Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Rich with a big heart.
- 37:04Speaker 2: You don't get that very often.
- 37:05Speaker 5: No, I've been looking for it for years. Well, thank you,
- 37:10Speaker 5: and we appreciate your confession. And good luck with your dad,
- 37:13Speaker 5: but let us know if anything happens.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 37:16Speaker 1: There you go. Dirty little secret. Oh, it's about to
- 37:20Speaker 1: get personal for Candace Korn.
- 37:22Speaker 5: By the way, I got to say, out of Leslie Wood,
- 37:24Speaker 5: we were talking about professional names, more professional names for jobs.
- 37:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 37:27Speaker 1: She has one for us, for DJs.
- 37:29Speaker 12: Okay.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Public Entertainment Broadcasters.
- 37:32Speaker 6: Okay.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Oh, I like that. That sounds very professional. I like it.
- 37:37Speaker 2: All right.
- 37:38Speaker 13: It's time for Candice Court. It gets settled here with
- 37:43Speaker 13: Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 37:44Speaker 6: All right.
- 37:45Speaker 5: For the Honorable Judge Candice Lopez, who looks great today,
- 37:48Speaker 5: by the way.
- 37:48Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Oh, this guy. It's Mix 102.9.
- 37:51Speaker 7: A lot of butter.
- 37:52Speaker 6: Yep.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Butter it up. Buttercup. Bailey the Kid. Candice is here.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Producer Pooh is here.
- 37:57Speaker 5: And today we had a Candice Court scheduled. If you've
- 37:59Speaker 5: got an issue, add Candice on air. But if we
- 38:01Speaker 5: have issues, sometimes we have to take it to Candice Court.
- 38:03Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 38:04Speaker 5: And today we do. And, Judge, I have to present
- 38:08Speaker 5: something to you that I think Pooh is absolutely... done
- 38:12Speaker 5: wrong okay and and and real quick because poo and
- 38:15Speaker 5: i are arguing this and this blew up this blew
- 38:18Speaker 5: up earlier today blew up into something big and to
- 38:21Speaker 5: me it's a big deal and i know that some
- 38:24Speaker 5: people are gonna be like oh billy you're so mean
- 38:26Speaker 5: you're so rude because i do appreciate people doing nice
- 38:29Speaker 5: things for me but poo did something wild.
- 38:31Speaker 7: State your case if.
- 38:33Speaker 1: You know me you know that i'm very weird about
- 38:36Speaker 1: my clothes Yes.
- 38:38Speaker 7: Tags.
- 38:39Speaker 1: And let me just state, Judge, Pooh has known me
- 38:41Speaker 1: for the longest in this room.
- 38:43Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 38:44Speaker 1: For decades, we've been friends. For decades, we've worked together. Yep.
- 38:48Speaker 1: For decades. So he knows how weird this is to me.
- 38:53Speaker 5: So we all have kind of hoodies or blankets in
- 38:56Speaker 5: the studio because it gets.
- 38:58Speaker 1: oddly almost.
- 39:00Speaker 5: Crazy cold in here unbearable unbearable cold it's either so
- 39:04Speaker 5: hot or it's so cold so we have like a
- 39:06Speaker 5: studio hoodie or a studio blanket or whatever yeah and
- 39:09Speaker 5: i have a studio hoodie and i keep it over
- 39:11Speaker 5: here whatever and i'll take it home and you know
- 39:13Speaker 5: i'll swap the hoodie out because i wear it maybe
- 39:15Speaker 5: for the last hour of the show right all right
- 39:17Speaker 5: when it starts to get freezing yesterday i went to
- 39:20Speaker 5: look for my hoodie judge right and when i went
- 39:23Speaker 5: to go look for it it was gone And I was.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Like, well that's weird. and i said stolen yeah that's
- 39:28Speaker 1: what i thought i said somebody stole my show hoodie
- 39:31Speaker 1: or my studio hoodie no and i go poo where'd
- 39:33Speaker 1: the hoodie go and he goes oh i took it
- 39:36Speaker 1: home and i washed it what What's wrong with that? Oh, poo.
- 39:45Speaker 1: And you're thinking to yourself, wow, that's so nice, a poo.
- 39:48Speaker 14: Right.
- 39:49Speaker 1: And while I appreciate it, that's my worst nightmare. How
- 39:54Speaker 1: is it bad? Because, first of all, I have sensitive skin.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Oh, this guy right here. Candace, yes. Judge, yes, I do. Okay.
- 40:04Speaker 7: Sensitive in the way that, like, you feel it.
- 40:08Speaker 1: I don't want his detergent on my stuff. First of all,
- 40:12Speaker 1: you don't just take somebody's clothes.
- 40:15Speaker 7: Yeah, it's a pretty personal item.
- 40:17Speaker 1: This is like a very personal.
- 40:18Speaker 8: It's a hoodie.
- 40:18Speaker 5: I know, but I'm looking for it. All of a sudden,
- 40:20Speaker 5: it's gone, and you took it home, and then it
- 40:22Speaker 5: comes back, which... I was like, oh, I guess that's
- 40:25Speaker 5: a nice thing to do. But it's kind of weird
- 40:27Speaker 5: because I don't dry my clothes in the dryer. I
- 40:29Speaker 5: don't dry that hoodie in the dryer.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Okay. Okay.
- 40:31Speaker 7: Did you dry it, Pooh?
- 40:32Speaker 6: No.
- 40:32Speaker 1: I've been around him long enough to know that he
- 40:35Speaker 1: don't like his clothes in the dryer.
- 40:37Speaker 7: But he also doesn't like shoulder nips.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Thank you. Exactly. And how do you get shoulder nips?
- 40:43Speaker 1: Because you hang it up wet. I didn't hang it.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I drooped it over my eyelid.
- 40:50Speaker 9: Ew.
- 40:51Speaker 6: How is that?
- 40:52Speaker 13: Ew.
- 40:52Speaker 6: No!
- 40:53Speaker 1: My island is clean.
- 40:54Speaker 10: There's nothing on there but a flower arrangement.
- 40:58Speaker 5: See, and maybe this is weird to other people, and
- 41:01Speaker 5: you can vote on who's right or wrong, but now
- 41:04Speaker 5: it's been on your food island?
- 41:07Speaker 1: No, no, no. I put a clean towel down and
- 41:10Speaker 1: drooped it over on the towel. Oh, now it's been
- 41:12Speaker 1: on a towel. It just hangs.
- 41:15Speaker 7: Okay, was there any cooking happening in the kitchen while
- 41:17Speaker 7: the hoodie was in the kitchen?
- 41:19Speaker 1: No, not at all. Can I tell you the other
- 41:21Speaker 1: thing I'm worried about? And I washed it separate from
- 41:24Speaker 1: my clothes.
- 41:24Speaker 7: Well, that was going to be my question because I
- 41:26Speaker 7: figured you threw it in with your underwear.
- 41:28Speaker 16: No.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Oh, no, I wouldn't do that. I wouldn't do that.
- 41:31Speaker 1: First of all, that's nasty. I wouldn't do that. I
- 41:34Speaker 1: wouldn't do that.
- 41:34Speaker 6: And I have.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Common sense. I wouldn't do that. I washed it separately.
- 41:38Speaker 1: So I wasted all that water separately. Wow. I didn't
- 41:43Speaker 1: ask you to. Separately. Ran up my water bill. For
- 41:46Speaker 1: one item. I love when we fight over this stuff.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Water and electrical. Electric was wasted on one eye. But
- 41:55Speaker 1: whose fault is that?
- 41:56Speaker 10: For a good deed, I thought. And I even used,
- 41:58Speaker 10: I got these scent beads. No.
- 42:00Speaker 1: And that's another judge.
- 42:01Speaker 7: Is that what that smell is? This morning I've been like,
- 42:04Speaker 7: what is going on?
- 42:05Speaker 1: It's not a bad smell.
- 42:06Speaker 7: It's not bad, but it's potent.
- 42:08Speaker 1: It smells weird. It's scent beads. I don't know what
- 42:11Speaker 1: kind of scent. I don't want scent beads. I mean,
- 42:13Speaker 1: I'm just saying you don't even need cologne with that.
- 42:15Speaker 1: It's just scent beads. I don't want a scent on
- 42:17Speaker 1: my clothes. I just put a little bit of scent beads.
- 42:19Speaker 1: and a little bit of detergent. And guess what? Washed
- 42:22Speaker 1: it in cold. Did you put a dryer sheet in there?
- 42:24Speaker 1: You didn't do that, did you? I didn't dry it.
- 42:26Speaker 1: So why would I put a dryer sheet in there?
- 42:28Speaker 7: Trick question.
- 42:29Speaker 6: That was nice.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Yeah, he was trying to set me up. I've been
- 42:30Speaker 1: around it. I've ironed his pants before when we were
- 42:33Speaker 1: on the road together.
- 42:34Speaker 7: In hotels.
- 42:35Speaker 12: Yes.
- 42:35Speaker 1: I've ironed his shirt because these are the things I
- 42:38Speaker 1: like to do. Candace. You know what I'm saying? He
- 42:39Speaker 1: don't force me to do it. No, of course not.
- 42:41Speaker 10: But when we've been on the road together and we've
- 42:43Speaker 10: been in a hotel, I was like, dude, you look raggedy.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Let me iron your shirt.
- 42:47Speaker 6: Raggedy.
- 42:47Speaker 1: I look raggedy. Yeah, let me iron your shirt. I
- 42:50Speaker 1: can't let you go out there. Let me iron your pants. No,
- 42:52Speaker 1: I've asked you. He loves ironing. Yeah, he knows I do.
- 42:55Speaker 17: Right.
- 42:56Speaker 1: We're like a married couple. I'll put a crease in
- 42:58Speaker 1: it and everything. I want a divorce. No, but you
- 43:00Speaker 1: can't get mad at that. It smells good. Okay, Judge,
- 43:03Speaker 1: let me show you the hoodie. It's wrinkly.
- 43:05Speaker 7: Yeah, let's see.
- 43:06Speaker 1: It smells like some girl that just came off Harry Hines. Oh, no.
- 43:12Speaker 1: First of all, what you doing on Harry Hines? You
- 43:14Speaker 1: told me.
- 43:14Speaker 6: Oh.
- 43:16Speaker 7: It needs to be steamed now or something.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it just needs to be steamed.
- 43:19Speaker 7: Or put it in the dryer at your house.
- 43:20Speaker 1: So it was just weird to me. So we got
- 43:22Speaker 1: in a big fight about it. Big argument.
- 43:24Speaker 5: It's a funny argument, but it's an argument. So I'm
- 43:26Speaker 5: going to let you be the judge and you tell
- 43:29Speaker 5: us who's right or wrong. And it's no hard feelings
- 43:31Speaker 5: if you think I'm wrong, judge.
- 43:32Speaker 1: I won't be mad. It is what it is.
- 43:35Speaker 5: But it's a very personal thing to take someone's clothes
- 43:37Speaker 5: with you. And by the way, the hoodie had never
- 43:38Speaker 5: even been worn. I hadn't worn it yet.
- 43:40Speaker 1: It was folded over there. Nice and neat because it
- 43:43Speaker 1: hadn't been worn.
- 43:44Speaker 7: Oh, hadn't been washed?
- 43:45Speaker 3: No.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I hadn't worn it since I washed it. Oh,
- 43:47Speaker 1: got it. So it was clean. It was just waiting
- 43:49Speaker 1: to be worn. Oh. Because I had swapped hoodies out.
- 43:52Speaker 7: Oh, it was clean.
- 43:53Speaker 1: I went from gray to black. This is my gray hoodie.
- 43:55Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 43:57Speaker 1: I thought it had been worn. It kind of had
- 43:58Speaker 1: a little smell on it. It did have a smell
- 44:01Speaker 1: to it. Not like smell like it was funky. I
- 44:02Speaker 1: just thought.
- 44:03Speaker 7: Did you put your nose up to it?
- 44:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I smelled it. So now you're sniffing my clothes. No,
- 44:06Speaker 1: that was before I washed it.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Judge.
- 44:08Speaker 1: Because I was like, it's been in here.
- 44:09Speaker 6: Well, I know.
- 44:10Speaker 1: And I was like, okay, has it been worn?
- 44:14Speaker 4: I mean, you do that with your kids' clothes, but
- 44:16Speaker 4: not your coworkers'. Thank you.
- 44:17Speaker 1: But now I don't have a hoodie to wear.
- 44:19Speaker 6: I mean.
- 44:19Speaker 1: I can't wear that. Why can't you wear it? It's not,
- 44:22Speaker 1: it's not. I'm freezing right now. I can't wear that.
- 44:24Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 44:24Speaker 1: It's not infected. It's clean. I know, but it smells.
- 44:27Speaker 1: Candace is getting a headache, she said. Oh, God.
- 44:29Speaker 7: No, it's really strong. You know how sensitive I am
- 44:31Speaker 7: to smells.
- 44:32Speaker 1: Like, yeah, it's literally like.
- 44:34Speaker 7: Fogging up my head.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Do you have a verdict?
- 44:36Speaker 7: We do have a verdict. Look, sorry, Pooh. I think
- 44:38Speaker 7: you're guilty of being a Donnie Dan. You're a laundromat, Larry.
- 44:43Speaker 7: You should know Billy well enough to know you shouldn't
- 44:47Speaker 7: do that. If you want to wash something, wash this
- 44:49Speaker 7: Bucky's blanket.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I will wash it. Yeah, but then he's going
- 44:53Speaker 1: to use his scent beads. I knew not to use
- 44:55Speaker 1: scent beads for Candace. And it's going to smell like
- 44:57Speaker 1: a stripper.
- 44:58Speaker 9: No!
- 44:58Speaker 1: 102.9.
- 45:01Speaker 6: The new Mix 102.9.
- 45:04Speaker 13: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 45:08Speaker 13: Kid in the morning.
- 45:09Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 45:11Speaker 12: All right, Candace Lopez, we got a lot going on.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Free gas coming up, by the way. Jackpot is up
- 45:16Speaker 1: to $ 400. We'll do that in like less than 15 minutes.
- 45:19Speaker 1: If you want some, get ready for that. Candace, what's
- 45:22Speaker 1: going on?
- 45:22Speaker 7: Well, just a heads up, there's going to be a
- 45:23Speaker 7: large emergency response at McKinney National Airport tomorrow. So this
- 45:29Speaker 7: exercise will happen starting around 7 a.m. It'll go till
- 45:32Speaker 7: around 1.30 p.m. This is not an actual emergency, but
- 45:36Speaker 7: you will see a large presence of emergency vehicles, first
- 45:40Speaker 7: responders and other public safety activity in McKinney. And around
- 45:43Speaker 7: the airport. So they're just simulating an emergency to test
- 45:47Speaker 7: how some of these agencies and community partners can help
- 45:50Speaker 7: in their response. So probably an alarming situation tomorrow if
- 45:54Speaker 7: you're not aware that this is just a test tomorrow
- 45:57Speaker 7: in McKinney.
- 45:57Speaker 1: No, that's good. Thank you for the heads up. It's
- 45:59Speaker 1: weird that there's an airport there.
- 46:00Speaker 7: I know.
- 46:01Speaker 1: Very weird. That's going to be a place where there's flights,
- 46:04Speaker 1: commercial flights already going out? Yeah.
- 46:07Speaker 4: Wow.
- 46:07Speaker 1: I just, I can't even fathom it, but I.
- 46:10Speaker 7: Know it's wild to think about, but great.
- 46:12Speaker 1: If more options.
- 46:13Speaker 6: Great.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:15Speaker 7: Uh, guys, two men are being called brisket bandits this
- 46:18Speaker 7: week after stealing around $ 600 worth of meat from bear
- 46:21Speaker 7: Creek community church. Uh, so they, I guess they were
- 46:24Speaker 7: getting ready to prepare their famous brisket for their annual
- 46:28Speaker 7: fundraising dinner. They were out there smoking 20 briskets when
- 46:31Speaker 7: two men walked into the parking lot and within 20 minutes, uh,
- 46:35Speaker 7: took off with the meat oh man um yeah they
- 46:38Speaker 7: later checked the cameras and found that one of the
- 46:40Speaker 7: men had actually been attending services at the church so
- 46:43Speaker 7: they were able to talk to him he told them
- 46:45Speaker 7: who helped him do this and why and it turns
- 46:47Speaker 7: out it was poo no this guy was homeless he
- 46:52Speaker 7: attends services regularly there and took the meat to take
- 46:56Speaker 7: it to downtown irving to feed other homeless people oh So, yeah,
- 47:00Speaker 7: it's just a sad situation to see the desperation, you know,
- 47:03Speaker 7: to there's a need that needs to be filled.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Which is go to the church and ask for more brisket.
- 47:09Speaker 7: They would have gladly given it.
- 47:10Speaker 1: Of course they would have. But you can't steal from
- 47:12Speaker 1: the church.
- 47:13Speaker 15: Yeah, yeah.
- 47:14Speaker 7: Thankfully, they still had enough to serve the people there.
- 47:17Speaker 7: You know, the church says we don't want jail time
- 47:19Speaker 7: for them, but come back, do, you know, 200 hours
- 47:22Speaker 7: of community service, and then we will feed you brisket
- 47:25Speaker 7: for lunch while you're helping out.
- 47:27Speaker 1: There you go.
- 47:27Speaker 7: So, yeah, a good compromise there.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Sure, yeah. I mean, that's something Pooh would do, though.
- 47:32Speaker 7: Steal meat.
- 47:32Speaker 1: Old brisket bandit. Oh, yeah. I get caught eating it.
- 47:37Speaker 7: Guys, Madonna is opening the MTV VMAs. It'll be her
- 47:42Speaker 7: first live performance at the VMAs in 23 years. So
- 47:46Speaker 7: the last time was in 2003. That was her iconic
- 47:49Speaker 7: performance with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Everyone remembers that performance.
- 47:54Speaker 7: Missy Elliott, I think, was part of it.
- 47:56Speaker 1: Was she?
- 47:57Speaker 7: I think so.
- 47:58Speaker 1: She wasn't part of the part that everybody was talking about.
- 48:00Speaker 7: Not that part.
- 48:00Speaker 1: That's the only part that people remember. No, for sure.
- 48:04Speaker 7: She's going to set a new record for the most
- 48:06Speaker 7: VMA opening performances ever. She also leads the nominations with 11.
- 48:11Speaker 7: She's up for things like Video of the Year, Artist
- 48:13Speaker 7: of the Year. So it'll be an interesting show. September
- 48:16Speaker 7: 27th on CBS and MTV and Snoop Dogg will be hosting.
- 48:20Speaker 1: I always forget about the VMAs.
- 48:21Speaker 5: I just don't watch award shows like I used to.
- 48:23Speaker 7: Yeah, no, same.
- 48:24Speaker 1: And I used to look forward to them so much.
- 48:27Speaker 1: The performances I think I look forward to.
- 48:29Speaker 7: Exactly. You couldn't just go on your phone and see
- 48:31Speaker 7: a live performance from somewhere around the world. Somebody's on
- 48:34Speaker 7: tour in Europe and you see what they did last night.
- 48:36Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. It was a big deal to watch
- 48:38Speaker 1: these performances live.
- 48:39Speaker 7: Yeah, and the collabs that they would do, like who
- 48:41Speaker 7: expected Madonna, Britney, and Christina together.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I kind of miss those days.
- 48:45Speaker 7: I do, too. NSYNC, Michael Jackson, Britney. Oh, man. Oh,
- 48:49Speaker 7: such a good show.
- 48:50Speaker 1: All right.
- 48:51Speaker 6: All right.
- 48:51Speaker 7: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 48:54Speaker 1: We had a little drama on the show. Of course,
- 48:55Speaker 1: Candace scored. It was Billy versus Pooh because Pooh took
- 48:59Speaker 1: my hoodie home and washed it unsolicited. You just took
- 49:03Speaker 1: it home. Bunch of scent stuff on it. It's not
- 49:07Speaker 1: scent stuff. Scent beads. Get it right. I'm like, you
- 49:09Speaker 1: don't wash somebody else's clothes.
- 49:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Sitting in the studio. You just don't. It's never even
- 49:14Speaker 1: been worn before.
- 49:14Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 49:15Speaker 7: The thought was nice, but no.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Well, Zan, our boss, and she does your ride home.
- 49:20Speaker 1: she's on the phone right now. Zan, what is going on?
- 49:22Speaker 15: Okay, a little impromptu, dirty little secret, because I can't
- 49:26Speaker 15: have y'all fighting with each other. I was the person
- 49:29Speaker 15: that told Pooh to take the hoodie home to wash it.
- 49:31Speaker 7: Oh, my God!
- 49:34Speaker 6: What?
- 49:38Speaker 2: Okay, listen.
- 49:39Speaker 15: Okay, there's a viable reason or like a justifiable reason
- 49:43Speaker 15: as to why I requested that Pooh did it. Nothing
- 49:45Speaker 15: is safe in that studio because if you don't remember,
- 49:48Speaker 15: every time I walk into the studio, I go, what
- 49:50Speaker 15: is that smell? Because it smells so bad.
- 49:54Speaker 1: It's not my hoodie.
- 49:55Speaker 15: No, it's like a very musty smell. So one day
- 49:58Speaker 15: I popped in there to do the ride home and
- 50:00Speaker 15: I'm sitting in our chair that we share, right, Billy?
- 50:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:03Speaker 15: And your hoodie's on the chair.
- 50:05Speaker 2: And I'm like, man, that smell is rough.
- 50:07Speaker 1: It's not my hoodie.
- 50:10Speaker 7: It's the chair.
- 50:11Speaker 1: It's the chair. Okay.
- 50:14Speaker 15: Cause I lifted up your hoodie and I like did
- 50:16Speaker 15: that thing where you put it in your face and
- 50:17Speaker 15: you sniff it. And I was like, bro, it's the hoodie.
- 50:20Speaker 15: And I was like, dude, who I'm going to take
- 50:22Speaker 15: this hoodie home. And then I forgot it. And then
- 50:24Speaker 15: he took it home over Labor Day weekend and washed it.
- 50:27Speaker 1: It had never been worn. The hoodie had never been worn.
- 50:31Speaker 15: Y'all are guilty of being a musty morning show.
- 50:36Speaker 1: First of all, that's your boy smelling. Your boy's walking
- 50:40Speaker 1: around in a hoodie in 100-degree weather. There's only one
- 50:42Speaker 1: musty fool in this room.
- 50:45Speaker 15: Okay, listen, I'll tell you what.
- 50:46Speaker 2: I'll make a deal with y'all.
- 50:47Speaker 15: I won't wash any or have poo wash anything else
- 50:49Speaker 15: in the studio, okay? But whatever it is, y'all got
- 50:52Speaker 15: to figure it out because it is making doing the
- 50:54Speaker 15: ride home, like, terrible.
- 50:55Speaker 1: I got an idea. Have him wash his ass.
- 50:58Speaker 6: Oh!
- 51:04Speaker 1: Are you ready for a hot take?
- 51:06Speaker 6: Oh, that's a hot take. Let us know what you think.
- 51:09Speaker 6: Here's today's hot take.
- 51:10Speaker 5: Okay, now this is kind of a personal one, too,
- 51:12Speaker 5: because I'm dealing with this issue right now.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Hot take of the day. Let me just get to it.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Would you be mad if your mutual friends went to
- 51:18Speaker 1: your ex's divorce party?
- 51:20Speaker 7: Oh.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Okay.
- 51:23Speaker 5: So I have someone in the friends group who is
- 51:26Speaker 5: basically going through a divorce and This is a very
- 51:29Speaker 5: well-liked couple. It just sucks that they're not going to
- 51:33Speaker 5: make it. It stinks because, you know, you don't want
- 51:35Speaker 5: to have to pick a side. And I have a
- 51:39Speaker 5: lot of friends who are hitting me up like, hey,
- 51:42Speaker 5: are you going to so-and-so's divorce party that they're throwing?
- 51:45Speaker 5: Because I just feel kind of awkward about it. And
- 51:47Speaker 5: then there's other people like, hey, no, I'm going. You know,
- 51:49Speaker 5: if he were to have one, I would have went
- 51:51Speaker 5: to that one. But she's having one. So I'm going
- 51:54Speaker 5: to go. And I am just feeling super weird about it.
- 51:58Speaker 5: So if you've ever been in a situation like this,
- 52:00Speaker 5: I want to know what you did, because I'll tell
- 52:03Speaker 5: you right now what I'm going to do.
- 52:04Speaker 13: Okay.
- 52:05Speaker 1: I'm not going to anyone's divorce party. Good.
- 52:07Speaker 7: I was going to say, don't do it.
- 52:09Speaker 1: You can't. First of all, they just, divorce parties are
- 52:11Speaker 1: just kind of weird to me.
- 52:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:13Speaker 1: And you do your thing.
- 52:14Speaker 5: I'm not going to tell you how to grieve and what,
- 52:16Speaker 5: you know, or what you do and your process in
- 52:18Speaker 5: your life.
- 52:19Speaker 7: Yeah, but not with mutual friends.
- 52:20Speaker 5: Well, and that's what, I usually see these divorce parties
- 52:23Speaker 5: and it's usually like, hey, I'm getting my ladies together.
- 52:26Speaker 5: I'm doing a divorce party and we're going out and
- 52:29Speaker 5: we're going to have a good time.
- 52:31Speaker 1: You do you.
- 52:33Speaker 5: But this is more of a divorce party. Everyone's going
- 52:36Speaker 5: to go. Husbands are invited. Mutual friends are invited. It's
- 52:41Speaker 5: not just like my little girl group doing their thing.
- 52:43Speaker 5: It's a whole thing, and it's causing a lot of...
- 52:46Speaker 5: a lot of controversy in the friends group.
- 52:48Speaker 7: I've only been to one divorce party, and this was
- 52:50Speaker 7: like back in the day-day. They had just gotten married. Yeah, well,
- 52:54Speaker 7: they had gotten married. I wasn't close to these people.
- 52:56Speaker 7: I was just like by proxy.
- 52:57Speaker 1: You just wanted to drink.
- 52:58Speaker 7: Yeah, I was like, cool.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Open bar.
- 53:03Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 53:03Speaker 7: And I mean, he had been unfaithful. And so literally
- 53:07Speaker 7: everyone was like, we're in.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Well, you know, that's a little bit different. OK.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Now, in this situation, that's not the case.
- 53:14Speaker 2: OK.
- 53:15Speaker 1: These two just didn't get along.
- 53:16Speaker 5: Like it was it was a quick kind of thing.
- 53:18Speaker 5: Like they got married quick. They didn't know each other well.
- 53:21Speaker 5: They were awesome together, but it just didn't work out.
- 53:24Speaker 5: Nobody cheated as far as I know. Nobody, now to me,
- 53:27Speaker 5: that might be a little bit different.
- 53:28Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 53:29Speaker 5: If I felt like I was, you know, somebody was
- 53:31Speaker 5: unfaithful and the person was really down.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Well, I might go to your divorce party to lift
- 53:35Speaker 1: you up and girl, you got this.
- 53:37Speaker 7: Yeah, exactly.
- 53:38Speaker 5: But in this situation, like I'm surprised you went, but
- 53:40Speaker 5: that I know you and that's the only way you
- 53:42Speaker 5: would probably go.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:43Speaker 1: You know, who would you go? No, I'm not doing that. See,
- 53:47Speaker 1: I don't know if I believe that. What do you mean?
- 53:49Speaker 5: What if they say, Hey, poo, we got a party bus.
- 53:52Speaker 5: I'm gonna pick you up. Listen, we'll have drinks.
- 53:54Speaker 1: It's going to be free food. We're doing our thing.
- 53:57Speaker 1: I couldn't do my friend like that.
- 53:59Speaker 7: More single ladies on the bus?
- 54:01Speaker 5: There's a ton of single ladies. It's a divorce party.
- 54:04Speaker 5: It's a good-looking- They're your type. I'm going to tell
- 54:05Speaker 5: you right now, this is a good-looking friends group, too.
- 54:09Speaker 5: It's a good-looking group of people.
- 54:10Speaker 1: I might just slide through real quick. You might have
- 54:14Speaker 1: one or two drinks. Yeah, one or two drinks and
- 54:16Speaker 1: then bounce. Okay. You know what I'm saying? That's what
- 54:20Speaker 1: I think you would do. Yeah, I'd slide through real quick.
- 54:23Speaker 1: I ain't going to lie to you. Just go check
- 54:25Speaker 1: out the situation.
- 54:26Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 54:27Speaker 1: But I wouldn't be happy to be there. Look at
- 54:31Speaker 1: this guy. But I'd be miserable the whole time. And
- 54:35Speaker 1: I'd tell him not to post me on Instagram. You
- 54:40Speaker 1: can't post me.
- 54:42Speaker 12: 833-787-1029.
- 54:42Speaker 5: I'm curious, what would you do? Would you go to
- 54:45Speaker 5: your mutual friends? Like, if your mutual friends went to
- 54:47Speaker 5: your ex's divorce party. What would you do? How would
- 54:50Speaker 5: you feel? Or maybe it's happened. And what did you do?
- 54:52Speaker 6: 102.9.
- 54:53Speaker 16: The new Mix 102.9.
- 54:57Speaker 5: It's Bailey the Kid. Candace Lopez is here. Producer Poo
- 55:00Speaker 5: is here. Should we do some mean messages?
- 55:02Speaker 7: Do we have to?
- 55:03Speaker 1: Here we go. Because, well, we read these every once
- 55:05Speaker 1: in a while. We get them in our DMs sometimes.
- 55:07Speaker 1: We get them on the Mix... Instagram, whatever. People are
- 55:10Speaker 1: just having fun.
- 55:12Speaker 5: Some of the ones in the past that have cracked
- 55:14Speaker 5: me up over the years is the mean message about
- 55:16Speaker 5: Candace that still makes me laugh when I'm randomly.
- 55:18Speaker 1: Thinking about it.
- 55:18Speaker 7: Is it about my chicken, my chili, my bread?
- 55:21Speaker 1: No.
- 55:21Speaker 5: This person said, Candace looks like the person that claps
- 55:26Speaker 5: when the plane lands.
- 55:27Speaker 6: Ah!
- 55:30Speaker 7: Don't clap when the plane lands.
- 55:32Speaker 1: God, that one cracks me up every single time. But
- 55:35Speaker 1: people do go in on your chili and your cooking.
- 55:38Speaker 12: I know.
- 55:39Speaker 1: Even though your sourdough crackers yesterday were really good.
- 55:41Speaker 7: Thanks.
- 55:42Speaker 5: I thought they were very tasty. Pooh had a questionable
- 55:45Speaker 5: reaction to them. He thought they were kind of seasonless.
- 55:50Speaker 5: Some people were laughing that I said when I looked
- 55:52Speaker 5: at them originally, I didn't see seasoning.
- 55:55Speaker 7: It's in there. It's mixed in.
- 55:57Speaker 1: I know. And I said, it looks like they're seasoned
- 55:59Speaker 1: with thoughts and prayers. It's okay. Well, that leads us
- 56:05Speaker 1: to our first mean message. And, well, it might be
- 56:09Speaker 1: about that. It might be about your sourdough crackers. Hank
- 56:13Speaker 1: from Bedford said, not sure you all saw the news, but.
- 56:17Speaker 5: The stars announced that they're going to be using Candace's
- 56:19Speaker 5: sourdough crackers as pucks this upcoming season.
- 56:22Speaker 6: Oh, my God, Hank.
- 56:26Speaker 7: Hey, they weren't that hard. No, they were actually soft.
- 56:30Speaker 1: They were actually, they were soft. Yeah.
- 56:32Speaker 7: They were plump.
- 56:33Speaker 1: They were practice pucks.
- 56:34Speaker 7: Oh my God.
- 56:35Speaker 1: And by the way, Pooh was making fun of them
- 56:37Speaker 1: and then he kept eating them.
- 56:38Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 56:39Speaker 7: They got some comeback.
- 56:40Speaker 1: Yeah, they did. The wonky ones, you're right.
- 56:42Speaker 7: The crispy ones.
- 56:43Speaker 1: And honestly, they were, I liked them. They were good.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 56:46Speaker 1: It just, I took, the first cracker was a little
- 56:48Speaker 1: soft and it kind of throws you off.
- 56:50Speaker 2: Right.
- 56:51Speaker 1: The other ones were perfectly crisp. It threw you off, Billy? Yeah,
- 56:54Speaker 1: they weren't that hard. Yeah.
- 56:56Speaker 5: Now, this next one is from, all it says, it's
- 56:59Speaker 5: from Pooh's friend in Wiley.
- 57:02Speaker 12: Hmm.
- 57:02Speaker 15: So.
- 57:03Speaker 6: Oh.
- 57:03Speaker 1: My friend in Wiley. Pooh's friend in Wiley.
- 57:06Speaker 16: Okay.
- 57:07Speaker 5: He said, hey, Pooh brought me some of those crackers
- 57:09Speaker 5: home yesterday. My son and I were eating them at
- 57:12Speaker 5: the park, and I threw one to a duck. I
- 57:14Speaker 5: couldn't believe it when the duck spit it out and
- 57:16Speaker 5: back at me.
- 57:17Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 57:21Speaker 7: Yeah, right.
- 57:21Speaker 1: Come on. That's rude. That's mean. That's so rude. Okay,
- 57:27Speaker 1: here's one about, oh, this one's about Pooh.
- 57:29Speaker 18: Okay.
- 57:30Speaker 7: Yay.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Good. Yeah. Megan and Garland. Oh, Lord.
- 57:34Speaker 5: Said, well, I saw Pooh driving the other day on 635,
- 57:37Speaker 5: and now I know why y'all say he's a bad driver.
- 57:40Speaker 1: He is awful. I'd rather drive with my Meemaw.
- 57:44Speaker 6: Oh.
- 57:44Speaker 1: And she's been dead for 12 years. Oh, God. What?
- 57:50Speaker 2: Yeah, man.
- 57:53Speaker 1: Which I believe that because Pooh is a bad driver.
- 57:55Speaker 1: I'm not a bad driver. I'm kidding. Okay, here's one
- 57:58Speaker 1: about me. I knew it was coming. Yes, finally.
- 58:00Speaker 5: When I saw this one, I was like, all right.
- 58:01Speaker 5: And you know what I knew? What it was going
- 58:03Speaker 5: to be about. Because, you know, I've gotten them about
- 58:05Speaker 5: my flat butt.
- 58:06Speaker 7: Your flat butt, your hand broken.
- 58:08Speaker 1: What could it be? This one is about, oh, yeah.
- 58:11Speaker 1: Your head. What about my head, Candace?
- 58:14Speaker 7: Well, I'm just saying, you talk about sometimes how you
- 58:15Speaker 7: have your size of your head.
- 58:17Speaker 17: What?
- 58:18Speaker 1: No, those are the top things people mention about you.
- 58:20Speaker 1: Let's read some more about Candace. No, you're right.
- 58:24Speaker 5: But this one happens to be about, I guess, I
- 58:28Speaker 5: got so many DMs about how I was a hoarder
- 58:29Speaker 5: in my cabinet.
- 58:30Speaker 1: My kitchen cabinet was messy. Right.
- 58:33Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 58:33Speaker 1: Because there was a picture of it. It wasn't even
- 58:35Speaker 1: that messy. There was just stuff in it.
- 58:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 58:37Speaker 1: To me, it wasn't messy.
- 58:38Speaker 7: Storage.
- 58:38Speaker 5: I guess every girl in my DMs was like, oh,
- 58:41Speaker 5: my God, you need to organize that.
- 58:43Speaker 1: And I'm like, why?
- 58:45Speaker 2: Why?
- 58:45Speaker 1: It's an air fryer. There's an Instapot up there. There's
- 58:48Speaker 1: a toaster. Right. Yeah, they're all over each other, but
- 58:51Speaker 1: they're in there.
- 58:52Speaker 2: Right.
- 58:53Speaker 1: To me, that's organized.
- 58:55Speaker 19: Right.
- 58:55Speaker 1: All right.
- 58:55Speaker 5: Well, Annie in Waxahachie says, good Lord, Billy, I don't
- 59:01Speaker 5: know what's messier, your kitchen cabinets or your love life.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Oh! That's rude. Wow.
- 59:10Speaker 2: Annie.
- 59:10Speaker 1: That's rude. That's so messed up. Annie and Hatchie just... Okay. Oh, man.
- 59:18Speaker 6: Okay.
- 59:20Speaker 1: Now there's two more about poo. Oh, yeah. Yeah, poo.
- 59:25Speaker 1: People were going in on poo. Oh, yeah. Andy and Frisco.
- 59:28Speaker 6: Andy.
- 59:29Speaker 1: He said, I saw... I don't know if I'm going
- 59:31Speaker 1: to get through.
- 59:32Speaker 6: Oh, Lord.
- 59:33Speaker 1: Lord, send me help. Andy in Frisco says, I saw
- 59:36Speaker 1: Pooh wearing an army hoodie the other day. Okay. Thank
- 59:39Speaker 1: you for your service. I heard you were in the
- 59:42Speaker 1: enchilada infantry.
- 59:44Speaker 6: Oh!
- 59:49Speaker 1: And he says, dot, dot, dot, or are you in
- 59:51Speaker 1: the Big Back Brigade?
- 59:55Speaker 3: Oh!
- 59:57Speaker 7: Big Back Brigade.
- 59:59Speaker 1: It's a lot of infantry. Now, Pooh was in the Army,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: so Pooh, thank you for your service.
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: He was a gravy seal.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Oh, my God! He was a gravy seal.
- 1:00:09Speaker 7: I can't breathe.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: Piece of enchilada infantry.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: All right. And then Christina and Mesquite. There's more? Yeah,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: there's one more about poo. Oh, God.
- 1:00:24Speaker 5: Christina Mesquite says, poo, I'm in the car with my
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: aunt and she thinks you're hot.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:00:29Speaker 7: All right.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Dot, dot, dot. No, seriously. She's worried because you always
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: wear that same hoodie. You're going to get heat stroke.
- 1:00:40Speaker 13: Top stories on the 10s with Billy the Kid in
- 1:00:42Speaker 13: the morning.
- 1:00:43Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: We got some free gas coming up. Jackpot is now
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: up to $ 500.
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: If you want to win, we'll do that within 15 minutes.
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: So get ready for your chance. Candice Lopez, what's up?
- 1:00:56Speaker 7: Well, I feel like we've been so distracted by all
- 1:00:57Speaker 7: this heat this summer. We forget some of the best
- 1:00:59Speaker 7: events in the Metroplex are opening late September. Opening today,
- 1:01:03Speaker 7: Addison Oktoberfest starts. So that's happening in Addison Circle Park.
- 1:01:08Speaker 7: And then the Plano Balloon Festival starts today at 5 p.m.
- 1:01:10Speaker 7: They're going to have their first balloon glow tonight at 7.30.
- 1:01:14Speaker 7: And they do it throughout the festival at 7.30 p.m.
- 1:01:17Speaker 7: But a lot of people look forward and get up
- 1:01:19Speaker 7: early on Saturday morning for the big balloon launch. That
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: happens at 7 a.m. And then on top of all
- 1:01:24Speaker 7: that in Grapevine, Grapefest opens in just a couple of hours.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Grapefest is so fun.
- 1:01:28Speaker 7: So fun.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: I love Grapevine. But, I mean, all those are great.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: You just have to do them all.
- 1:01:32Speaker 7: Yeah, you do. Grapefest is fun. If you go watch
- 1:01:34Speaker 7: the grape stomping competition, I got to be a part
- 1:01:36Speaker 7: of it two years ago.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Oh, were you?
- 1:01:37Speaker 7: So much fun. I didn't win, but I had such
- 1:01:39Speaker 7: a good time.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: You did it. That's right.
- 1:01:41Speaker 7: Yeah, just barefoot on stage in the bucket.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: I forgot about that. Yeah, your feet are too little.
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: Yeah, that's what it is.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: That's what it is.
- 1:01:47Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 1:01:48Speaker 7: It's also North Texas Giving Day today. This is the
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: largest community-wide online giving event in the country. So there's
- 1:01:55Speaker 7: all kinds of ways you can help. Donate to whatever
- 1:01:58Speaker 7: cause speaks to you, whether that's health care, schools, animal rescue,
- 1:02:01Speaker 7: food pantries. You can find a list of these organizations
- 1:02:04Speaker 7: at NorthTexasGivingDay.org. And the good part is 100% of donations
- 1:02:09Speaker 7: go directly to your chosen nonprofit. So good idea today.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: Just do something today.
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: Yeah, get involved. And then, guys, Dictionary.com just added 5,900
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: new words. They made more than 1,200 edits to their
- 1:02:21Speaker 7: new update. Some of these new words are interesting. A
- 1:02:24Speaker 7: few of them I knew, a few of them I didn't,
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: but they've added glow up to the dictionary.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: We know what that is. When you, you know, just
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: all of a sudden you start looking better for whatever reason.
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: You upgrade yourself.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: You upgrade yourself. Yeah.
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: Goated is now a part of dictionary.com.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: That's when you're like the best at what you do.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: You're goated.
- 1:02:41Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:02:42Speaker 7: You're so good.
- 1:02:42Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:02:43Speaker 7: You're goated. This one is interesting.
- 1:02:45Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: A quesabirria is like, is it the tacos, right?
- 1:02:51Speaker 7: Birria quesadilla.
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: Oh. Yeah.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:55Speaker 7: I love that they're doing that.
- 1:02:56Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: I mean, yeah. Put that in there.
- 1:02:58Speaker 6: I want one.
- 1:02:58Speaker 7: Birria's having a moment.
- 1:02:59Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Birria's always had a moment for me. That's my favorite. Yeah. Also.
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:03:04Speaker 7: Lost in the sauce. That's a phrase, though. How does
- 1:03:07Speaker 7: that get added to the dictionary?
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Everything gets added to the dictionary. And that's old, too.
- 1:03:11Speaker 7: That's what I thought.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Well, whatever.
- 1:03:13Speaker 7: Okay, looking forward to them announcing their word of the year.
- 1:03:16Speaker 7: You remember last year's word of the year was 6-7,
- 1:03:18Speaker 7: which people were like.
- 1:03:19Speaker 9: Womp, womp.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: I'm so over that.
- 1:03:21Speaker 7: Yeah, but they're putting acronyms and all sorts of things.
- 1:03:24Speaker 7: Do you guys know what ELI5 is?
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: ELI5.
- 1:03:28Speaker 7: Yeah, it's in there.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: No, what does that mean?
- 1:03:32Speaker 7: Explain like I'm five.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 1:03:35Speaker 7: Who's saying that?
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: I don't know, but we have... Not my kids. acronyms
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: for everything.
- 1:03:39Speaker 7: We do. GTG.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Gotta go?
- 1:03:42Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Talk stories.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Secrets, 833-787-1029. It's time. Go ahead. This is going to make.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: Me sound like a horrible person, but around one of
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: my best friends, I pretend that I'm broke.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: I know the feeling. You pretend that you're broke around
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: one of your friends? Why one of your friends?
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: One of my friends.
- 1:04:17Speaker 9: Okay.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: So first of all, I just want to say I'm
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: not broke. I have a good job. I pay my bills.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: I have savings and everything. But I have a budget
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: and my friend does not understand the concept of a
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: budget because she comes from a very wealthy family. Like
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: her dad is worth millions.
- 1:04:36Speaker 12: Oh, wow.
- 1:04:38Speaker 21: She's single?
- 1:04:38Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: Just saying.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: I'll let you know.
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: No, not right now.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: She might be soon. So she just spends whatever all
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: the time. She's just doing her thing.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: Yeah. Like she's always like, you know, let's go shopping.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: Let's like go to a concert. Let's get our nails done.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: Let's take a trip. And I'm just like, that stuff
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: adds up. Like I can't casually drop like $ 300 on
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: concert tickets every other weekend.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: Right. No, of course, especially right now, everything's so expensive.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: You got to sit.
- 1:05:10Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: You got to plan everything out that you're going to spend. It's,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: it's hard out here right now. So, so you pretend
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: like you're broke so you don't have to hang out
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: or how do you, why do you do it?
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: So like, okay. So like a year ago I started
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: telling her like, you know, you know, I, I can't, I'm,
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: I'm struggling right now. And you know, think times are tough,
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: but because she has money, like she'll just immediately say like, Oh,
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: don't worry about it. I got you.
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: Oh, and Oh, do you let her go?
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Uh-huh. Yeah.
- 1:05:39Speaker 7: You let her pay for stuff?
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: She's paid for my nails, like dinners, concert shopping.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: So you're saying it because you're saying I'm broke, so
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: she'll just go ahead and go, girl, I got it.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: Don't worry about it. Just a couple hundred bucks.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Well, that wasn't the plan. I just thought she would
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: kind of like ease up and realize like we're not
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: in the same tax bracket.
- 1:06:03Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: OK, it kind of backfired. But a few months ago,
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: I took it way too far. My OK, so first,
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: like a little backstory. My my dad got pretty sick
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: and he was dealing with some medical issues. And like, thankfully,
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: he has really good insurance and financially, you know, he's
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: he's OK. He's fine. OK, but my friend asked if
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: I wanted to go to Cabo with her and I
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: didn't want to spend the money. So I told her, like,
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: you know, I can't. with everything going on with my dad,
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: you know, like I just basically said, I've been helping
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: my parents with like, you know, medical bills and stuff
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: like that, which was a complete lie.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: But your dad is sick. He is unfortunately sick.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: He is sick.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Okay. Got it. All right. Sorry to hear that.
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: So you tell her you can't cause you got to
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: help with medical bills and stuff.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: But then a couple of weeks later, she like randomly
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: comes over to my house and she wanted to talk.
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: And then she handed me a check for like $ 5, 000.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: What? To help?
- 1:07:01Speaker 14: What?
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: Yeah, she said, like, you know, like, I know you've
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: been stressed about your dad. And, like, you can use
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: this for, you know, medical bills or, like, whatever your
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: family needs.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Oh, wow. That is.
- 1:07:11Speaker 7: That's so sweet.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Very sweet.
- 1:07:13Speaker 7: I know.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: And, like, I started crying because, like, it was the nice...
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: It was literally one of the nicest things, like, anybody
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: has ever done for me. But also, I knew I was, like,
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: full of crap. Yeah.
- 1:07:24Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: And so I almost told her the truth, but I didn't.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Okay, let me ask you this, and I'm going to
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: just be honest. Oh, God. Did you take the check
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: and cash it?
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: I took the check.
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: Oh!
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: Wow.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: I know how bad it sounds.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: My sister.
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: In my head, I'm thinking, I'm thinking, like, her family's
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: so wealthy. Like, $ 5, 000 is probably like $ 20.
- 1:07:53Speaker 18: Wow.
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: You know what I mean? For a normal person.
- 1:07:56Speaker 7: You're justifying it to yourself.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: And you're right. Oh, my God. But at the same time,
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: she thinks she's given that $ 5, 000.
- 1:08:03Speaker 5: Yeah, she thinks she's given that $ 5, 000 to help your family,
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: which is incredibly sweet. What a great friend to do that.
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: Whether she has money or not, you can't expect people
- 1:08:11Speaker 5: to do that.
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: No.
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: Um, so that was very nice of her. And then
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: you take the money and you're like, now I got
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: money for Cabo.
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: I couldn't, I couldn't give it to my dad because
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: he'd be so pissed that like I was going around
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: telling people I'm broke and like paying his medical bills.
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: I told my friend that my dad is really prideful
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: and like probably wouldn't accept the money directly, but that
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: I gave it to my mom because like she handles
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: all their bills and that's obviously a lie.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: So another lie.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: I still have like another one. Yeah. I still have
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: most of the money.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: Oh, you do? Okay. What are you going to spend it?
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: I feel like you got to do something nice or
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: good with it.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: I did. I actually, okay. So I did get him
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: a really nice recliner so he can be like comfortable
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: at home while he's recovering. Oh, so he went towards him.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: OK. Did you go to Goodwill to get it? Yeah.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: No.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: No. Brand new.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: Brand new.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: Brand new recliner. Well, that's nice. So you did pay
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: it forward, kind of. Wow, good confession. That is a
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: good secret. I mean, you're riding a very shady, blurred,
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: ethical line here.
- 1:09:18Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: It's eating me up a little bit, I'm going to
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: be honest.
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: What a good friend. Don't lose her, though. I mean,
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: not just because she's rich, but she has a big heart.
- 1:09:27Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: Rich with a big heart. You don't get that very often.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: No, I've been looking for it for years.
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: What?
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: Meeks 102.9, Ability Kid, Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: We're about to get out of here. We'll see you tomorrow.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: Tomorrow's Friday. We've got a lot of stuff going on
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: in the show tomorrow, including a wheel of misfortune. I know.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: Maybe we'll just forget to do it tomorrow.
- 1:09:49Speaker 7: There's no way I'm going to lose tomorrow. I lost
- 1:09:50Speaker 7: last week. There's just no way I'll lose two weeks
- 1:09:52Speaker 7: in a row.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: Do you know how many times Pooh has lost two
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: weeks in a row? Yeah. I say that same thing, Candace,
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: all the time.
- 1:09:58Speaker 7: The odds are in my favor.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Yeah, you definitely have odds in your favor.
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: That's where we do trivia, and then we'll have to
- 1:10:03Speaker 5: spin the wheel if we lose and do something ridiculous
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: that's on the wheel.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: But it's Friday. We'll figure it out. I'm not going
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: to think about that now. I don't want to ruin
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: my day.
- 1:10:09Speaker 7: No, for sure.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: All right, we'll do that. We'll have a dirty little secret,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: all that good stuff.
- 1:10:12Speaker 5: And I think we've got a little something-something to announce tomorrow, too,
- 1:10:15Speaker 5: which I don't want to give away too many details.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: But that'll be fun. It'll be exciting.
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: And, of course, we'll have free gas and more free
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: gas today with Zan at 4 o'clock.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: We'll see you tomorrow for your Friday. Oh, man.
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: Wheel of misfortune.
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: If you have any ideas for punishments, by the way,
- 1:10:31Speaker 5: at Mix 1029 FM on Instagram, because we're going to let,
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: I think we're going to let our OGs pick one
- 1:10:37Speaker 5: of the punishments.
- 1:10:37Speaker 7: Well, that was a good suggestion in the live last week.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: Listener's choice. We also go live on Instagram. So, you
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: know what? Send them our way, and we'll see you tomorrow. Okay, bye.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: Bye.
- 1:10:46Speaker 13: Okay, so don't be alarmed, but somebody let the Mix
- 1:10:50Speaker 13: 102.9 gas gremlin out of its cage, and yeah, it's
- 1:10:53Speaker 13: guzzling up all the gas in DFW.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: Ah!
- 1:10:57Speaker 7: But here's the good news.
- 1:10:58Speaker 16: Beat the gas gremlin at its game, and you could
- 1:11:00Speaker 16: win up.
- 1:11:01Speaker 7: To $ 3, 000 in free gas.
- 1:11:03Speaker 13: Just listen for your chance to play, starting with Billy
- 1:11:05Speaker 13: the Kid in the morning at 8 and 9 a.m.,
- 1:11:07Speaker 13: and then again with Zan during your ride home at
- 1:11:10Speaker 13: 4 and 5.
- 1:11:10Speaker 6: All you gotta say is.
- 1:11:11Speaker 7: Mix.
- 1:11:11Speaker 14: 102.9 Great Gremlin Gas Gift Card Giveaway.
- 1:11:15Speaker 7: Five times fast, and if you nail it, you could
- 1:11:17Speaker 7: win up to $ 3, 000 in free gas.
- 1:11:20Speaker 9: But blow it.
- 1:11:21Speaker 7: Mix 102.9's Great Grass Gremlin Card Giveaway.
- 1:11:24Speaker 13: And the Mix 102.9 Gas Gremlin will guzzle up your
- 1:11:27Speaker 13: gas money and spit it out for the next person
- 1:11:29Speaker 13: playing its game to win. All the way up to
- 1:11:33Speaker 13: $ 3, 000 in free gas.
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: Want to practice what to say during the Gas Gremlins game?
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: Hit up our Instagram at Mix1029FM.
- 1:11:40Speaker 6: Direct from Hollywood.
- 1:11:42Speaker 7: With Ryan Seacrest.
- 1:11:43Speaker 14: Director Zack Kreger's first two movies, Barbarian and Weapons, were
- 1:11:48Speaker 14: instant horror classics born entirely out of his own imagination.
- 1:11:51Speaker 14: And while his new third movie, Resident Evil, sticks to
- 1:11:54Speaker 14: the horror genre, this one is based on an existing IP,
- 1:11:57Speaker 14: one of the most popular video game franchises of all time.
- 1:12:00Speaker 20: There's also been multiple Resident Evil movies, but Zack's film
- 1:12:04Speaker 20: is deeply and directly inspired by the games. And that's
- 1:12:08Speaker 20: not to say he doesn't also put his own trademark
- 1:12:11Speaker 20: fingerprints all over it by analyzing the games in a different.
- 1:12:14Speaker 16: Way yeah he didn't copy the way that the games
- 1:12:16Speaker 16: look necessarily as much as the mechanics how you play
- 1:12:20Speaker 16: so how you have to find one thing or another
- 1:12:23Speaker 16: to advance he uses an example of a game character
- 1:12:27Speaker 16: needing a key to open a door which.
- 1:12:29Speaker 14: Is a very video game side quest so he literally
- 1:12:31Speaker 14: said okay let's implement that into the movie because while
- 1:12:34Speaker 14: it's standard in a video game it's not in cinema
- 1:12:37Speaker 14: He tells IndieWire it's fun to implement that into a
- 1:12:40Speaker 14: movie because you don't usually have a scene where a
- 1:12:42Speaker 14: character is simply trying to find keys.
- 1:12:44Speaker 20: He's looking for keys while zombies are looking for him.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Resident Evil arrives tomorrow.
- 1:12:50Speaker 6: That's direct from Hollywood.
