Transcript
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Good morning, Tommy Grassaffi, Ag Bull Media, Ag Bull Trading.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: You're listening to Ag Squawk.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Well, the world changed since you were sleeping overnight, and it's not good.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: We have crude oil up$4, the stock market's coming down, and interest rates, not only in America, but around the world, are exploding higher.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: All that and more in this morning's Ag Squawk.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Morning, everyone.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Tom Grasopi.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Some not so good news.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: If you were looking for the world to be getting through this Iran situation, crude oil is up 415.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Crude oil currently up 92.44, up 415.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Not what we were hoping, but it's what we're getting.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Where are we getting our quotes from?
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Well, we're getting them from our good friends at plus 500.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: As I quote up the market, I want you to know that markets were really slow when I went to bed last night.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Everything seemed fine.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: As I woke up at different times of night, maybe to go to the bathroom, maybe check my phone, things changed.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Biggest things flashing on my screen.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Interest rates moving on up again.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: We had Fed Minutes yesterday.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: They talked about that they overwhelmingly voted to raise rates, but the markets are continuing to scream there's a problem.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Now, this crude oil thing, I don't know what changed overnight.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Obviously, it's not going well in Iran.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: We have midterms just 30 days away, maybe even less.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: We have interest rates exploding.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: It's not a good look.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: It's going to be a very volatile next 60 days here.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: We'll see how the uh stock market and other things do.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: But quoting up the grain markets here, thank you, plus 500 T4.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: That's what we use to get quotes here.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: It is 715 in the morning.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Corn's unchange, beans are down three, wheat's up a half, soybean oil up.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: That's on the back of probably crude oil, KC wheat, Minneapolis wheat, all up a penny.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Pretty, pretty quiet in the grains, but the all the moves are in the outside markets.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Real quick, I want to thank another friend and sponsor.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: How do we get quotes?
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: How do we do all this?
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: What are we listening to for when I need to see what in the heck is going on?
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: We go over to Trade the News.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Trade the news, an audio squawk service.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: Trade the news, a uh sponsor of the Ag Squawk show.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: They are an audio news service.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: I've had them for 25 years.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Tell the trade the news boys.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: The AgBo boys want you to get a free trial.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Head on over there, get educated, wake up, hear it, not just read it, hear what's going on.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: The world's changed.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: You got to change with it.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Today's show I want to talk about the hog market just not doing well.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Of course, we had that monster day in live cattle the other day.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Live cattle down a little bit yesterday.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Not the end of the world.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Dece live cattle 223.70 down 40.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Feeder cattle looking at the Nove down 225.336.05.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Lean Hog 69.07 down 130.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Hog Market can't buy a friend.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: And it's just hard to watch the markets do that.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Most importantly, if you do have uh cattle and you see one of these big rallies like we had, where feeder cattle, some of the back months here, they were up ten dollars.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: That's a monster move.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: It's like an old double limit, and uh, we're just casually moving around like that.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: So incredible volatility.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Next thing we'll talk about grains.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Grains pretty much gave up everything they had gained the day before, except for beans.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Day before beans were up 20 yesterday, they're down eight or nine, corn down six wheat, got hit pretty good, and nothing's better in Black Sea in Russia, but money comes in, money goes out.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: We're all looking for a reason why why are grains down?
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: We didn't know the reason day before why grains were up.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: Now they're down.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Markets are moving pretty crazy.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: But important note USDA, 11 o'clock Friday, we'll have a table out with that and send that to clients and subscribers.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: On what are we expecting?
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Folks are hoping they lower the corn yield.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: If they don't lower the corn yield, we're probably gonna spend some time under five dollars and deece.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: We'll continue to stay under 13.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: If they change things, markets will react quickly on both sides.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Moving along here, breaking news, breaking news.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: I think I have a breaking news little flyer here.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: Breaking news.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: This thing's rocking the world here.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: This is this is interest rates, not just in America, but around the world.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: This is from Bloomberg Global Treasury Index tops 4%.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: These are a bunch of interest rates added up all over the world.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: We are getting hot, hot, hot in interest rates, and it is not good for business.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Everyone, whether I guess, I guess on a positive note, if you're old and you like to go to the bank and just slap money in a CD and call yourself Captain Conservative and make 4% while we have 3% interest rates, then this is good for you.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: What's it mean here in America?
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: Outside markets, 30-year treasury yields again this morning.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: This slide's from a few weeks ago.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: It said level since 2004.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: I had to change it to 2002, but this morning, 10 years, 5 years, 30 years, everything hitting levels we haven't seen in 24 years.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: That's gonna be a problem.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Speaking of problems, we're having our first hurricane of the season, and it's gonna come right up through the Gulf, dump a bunch of rain up there, and then it's gonna head right up the Midwest.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Now the question is: does it head up and go left?
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: Does it go straight to Chicago?
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Does it take a right and hit the eastern belt?
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Is it gonna continue to bring rains?
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Is it just gonna bring wind?
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: I know if you got corn standing out there, the last thing you want is winds, but it looks like as it gets up into the Midwest, it definitely tones it down a little bit there.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: So we'll see how that goes.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: With that, we have some economic calendar here.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Again, it's 720 now.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Export sales at 7.30.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: We'll see how that goes.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Jobless claims at 7.30.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: That should move the markets a little bit.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: Net gas storage.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Net gas has been moving around a little bit.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: It's nothing for net gas to move around a few percent, but the biggest markets to move here are crude oil.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: All right, if you're not, we'd love to see on the premium side$25 a month,$250 annually.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: Yesterday, Jed Sidwell met with Mike Sands and did Fat Tuesday.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: I also met with Paul Nefer, the Ag CPA.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: He's he's breaking down all the numbers, and I have a clip for that.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: That's going to get texted out to clients this morning.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: If you'd like to see that video of the Ag CPA, go ahead, click and subscribe.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: With that, we're putting out content, sending text, putting out research early in the morning, everything else.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Well, if you just want to continue to watch the show, we'd love to have you.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: You can always watch, listen, follow AgSquack, AM and PM, YouTube, Apple, Spotify, X, all video formats on all four.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: We live stream every day, 8 15 a.m., 8 15 p.m.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: And uh we're getting out those shows.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: We need to, we believe, I believe, futures and options aren't for everyone, but you need to stay educated.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: If the free package is doing it for you, that's fine.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: But if you want to go deep down in depth, long form video, I think that interview with Paul Nefer yesterday was a half hour.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: Guy gets paid five, six, seven thousand dollars to do a speech.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: He did that same speech for us yesterday here.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: And you know what?
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: He talks a lot about a lot of stuff.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: And if you watch it and you want to watch it again, go ahead.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Because if you're a farmer, that's real money coming into your home.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: And he brings down all the levels for 25, 26, and even projects what 27 looks like.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: All right, we're gonna have an active day.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: I didn't think it was like that when I went to bed, but it looks like the markets are moving and grooving.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: We're gonna start texting clients here in a little bit.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: We hope to see you on the other side.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: Tommy Grossofty, Agbo Media, I'm bullish agriculture.
