- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a lily Pad production.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Hello, ly Progs and welcome back to Fandemonium. And I
- 0:06Speaker 2: have never been more excited to introduce an episode than
- 0:10Speaker 2: this one. So I could not do it alone. I
- 0:12Speaker 2: am not just recording on my own in the studio
- 0:16Speaker 2: this time. I'm of course joined by Audre.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Hello, it's me Odra, and I'm here and I'm also.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Excited and Oordra, why is it that we're so excited
- 0:25Speaker 2: to introduce this episode? Fair Expo, Fair Expo, Fair Expo.
- 0:31Speaker 2: This is our live show from the Fan Expo, Denver,
- 0:34Speaker 2: twenty twenty six. One of the most surreal experiences of
- 0:39Speaker 2: our lifetime.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I would say it took me a couple days to
- 0:42Speaker 1: come to terms with how with how wild it was.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it was the only way we were
- 0:49Speaker 2: going to get through. It was just like treating this
- 0:52Speaker 2: like a normal record and not letting the insanity of
- 0:56Speaker 2: the situation get to us.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, it's just like a normal day where
- 1:00Speaker 1: like two hundred people want to get in a room
- 1:02Speaker 1: with us and watch us make jokes and be silly.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it was amazing. You will hear from this recording
- 1:08Speaker 2: just how many people were in the room, I think
- 1:11Speaker 2: I should say up top. We have also released this
- 1:14Speaker 2: episode on YouTube and Patreon completely for free, so if
- 1:19Speaker 2: you're like, actually, i'd rather see it, here's your chance
- 1:22Speaker 2: to actually go and do that. Don't feel like you
- 1:24Speaker 2: have to listen to the episode unless you want to
- 1:26Speaker 2: listen to it and watch it. That would be great
- 1:28Speaker 2: for us.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I'd love that you'd be my best friend.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Hear that. If you want to be Oldra's best friend,
- 1:36Speaker 2: listen to this and watch.
- 1:37Speaker 1: It mm hmm, and then let me know because I'm
- 1:39Speaker 1: not gonna I'm not gonna track you down. I respect
- 1:41Speaker 1: your privacy too much.
- 1:44Speaker 2: So, Odra, did you think five years ago when we
- 1:47Speaker 2: started this podcast that we would one day be on
- 1:50Speaker 2: the stage at fan Expo, playing in front of a
- 1:53Speaker 2: couple hundred people.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna be so for real with you. No, I
- 1:58Speaker 1: just I did not. When we were recording this in
- 2:01Speaker 1: our basement, I was like, we can't fit two hundred
- 2:03Speaker 1: people in here. There's no way this wouldn't work because
- 2:06Speaker 1: just fundamentally wouldn't work. My brain did not extend beyond
- 2:11Speaker 1: the four walls of that basement.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's what we needed at the time. We
- 2:16Speaker 2: needed to not only learn how to podcast, but learn
- 2:20Speaker 2: how to produce comedy, learn how to punch up our show,
- 2:24Speaker 2: learn how to make connections with people. I mean that
- 2:28Speaker 2: I don't want to just turn this into a bunch
- 2:30Speaker 2: of thanks right up top, but I feel like we
- 2:32Speaker 2: have to thank everyone who has ever appeared on Pandemonium,
- 2:37Speaker 2: on a panel, on a lineup at any point.
- 2:39Speaker 1: God, I didn't make a list, Oh shit, Oh shit,
- 2:43Speaker 1: the list is the episode feed. That's everyone who's been
- 2:47Speaker 1: on it. Just thank you so much for joining us
- 2:50Speaker 1: at every turn and supporting us and allowing us to
- 2:57Speaker 1: learn how to do what we do and then take
- 3:01Speaker 1: it to the heights that we've managed to take it,
- 3:04Speaker 1: which is just still mind blowing. Absolutely, it's mind blowing
- 3:08Speaker 1: to be able to play a room at Fan Expo Denver.
- 3:12Speaker 1: But it's also like you were saying thanks to everyone
- 3:15Speaker 1: who has been on any episodes, because we come to
- 3:18Speaker 1: you with the thing of like, hey, do you want
- 3:20Speaker 1: to be on our silly, little, silly fun podcast, uh
- 3:24Speaker 1: that we think is really fun, and people keep saying, oh, yeah,
- 3:29Speaker 1: I'd love to. That was so much fun last time,
- 3:31Speaker 1: or like I've listened to it and thought that it
- 3:34Speaker 1: would be so much fun to be on and people
- 3:36Speaker 1: keep surprising us by being interested in being on our show.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's it's amazing. And to that, let's thank
- 3:45Speaker 2: Stephan Johnny for joining us on the panel, two seasoned
- 3:49Speaker 2: live improv performers. I felt so safe with them on
- 3:53Speaker 2: the panel.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Uh huh. Like as the room started to fill up,
- 3:57Speaker 1: because it was it was a room, it was a
- 3:59Speaker 1: big room.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Is bigger room. It's bigger room than I was expecting.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yup, and then more people than I was expecting, and
- 4:05Speaker 1: just to be able to like look over at Johnny
- 4:07Speaker 1: and Johnny be like, huh, that's a lot of people.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I think we're going to do great though, and I'm
- 4:13Speaker 1: just just like, god.
- 4:15Speaker 2: He's right. Yeah. And I think they both got some
- 4:18Speaker 2: of the earliest laughs in the room, and that just
- 4:20Speaker 2: really helped settle the vibe of.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Like, this is going to be great, This is a
- 4:27Speaker 1: great team, and it's going to be so much fun.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you for teaming up with us, Steph and Johnny.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Thank you for team up rpging with us.
- 4:37Speaker 2: And thank you to Chris for being incredible. We know
- 4:42Speaker 2: Chris is amazing, we know how funny Chris is we
- 4:44Speaker 2: get to experience Chris as a friend, but to be
- 4:47Speaker 2: able to show him off in front of the room
- 4:50Speaker 2: and for him to get like more laughs than any
- 4:54Speaker 2: of the now right wing comedians we grew up on
- 4:57Speaker 2: absolutely is just it's just amazing to see.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Uh huh. Because we have Stephan Johnny, seasoned performers who
- 5:05Speaker 1: can walk into a room and they're gonna get laughs.
- 5:08Speaker 1: We know they know that, yeah, But to be able
- 5:10Speaker 1: to be like, no, Chris is gonna get laughs yea.
- 5:13Speaker 1: And Chris might not know that, but we are in
- 5:16Speaker 1: charge of the show. We're gonna we know that. We're
- 5:19Speaker 1: gonna put him up there and make him know that.
- 5:23Speaker 2: So thank you so much, Chris and oldro thank you
- 5:26Speaker 2: for being so funny. I felt so safe as a
- 5:29Speaker 2: host up there with four hilarious people.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Oh thank you. It was It was a joy. It
- 5:35Speaker 1: was just a joy.
- 5:36Speaker 2: It really was. And I feel like we should probably
- 5:39Speaker 2: stop waffling now and play the joy.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Uh huh. We're talking about it so much right now, Honestly,
- 5:45Speaker 1: it's just rude.
- 5:45Speaker 2: If we keep talking, right, I think we'll be back
- 5:48Speaker 2: at the end to chat about it some more and
- 5:51Speaker 2: talk about the experience of the day itself, and maybe
- 5:54Speaker 2: what the future could hold for more live shows elsewhere.
- 6:00Speaker 1: That would be a tough wait if there wasn't such
- 6:02Speaker 1: a fun show about it.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Thank you so much for your support of for the
- 6:06Speaker 2: Yaslee Progs. Here it is our live show from Fanexpo, Denver,
- 6:11Speaker 2: twenty twenty six. Hello and welcome to Pandemonium, the pop
- 6:40Speaker 2: culture game show that shines a spotlight onto everyone's favorite fandoms.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I'm your games master and get gandlphin training Matt Watson.
- 6:49Speaker 2: But a game's master needs games, and games need players,
- 6:52Speaker 2: so please welcome our first fellowship. She is our resident panelists,
- 6:56Speaker 2: a podcaster and comedian who works in STEM, which today
- 7:00Speaker 2: sends for sanctioned from talking to or engaging with Monaghan.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Make some noise for Audra Stevenson, and he is an improviser,
- 7:13Speaker 2: podcaster and game designer. He designed the Superhero TTRPG Team Up,
- 7:17Speaker 2: available now at teamuparpg dot com. There's always time for
- 7:20Speaker 2: a plug. Give it up for Johnny Wilson. Welcome Autron Johnny.
- 7:28Speaker 2: The theme for this episode, because of where we are
- 7:31Speaker 2: right now, is the cast of the Lord of the Rings.
- 7:34Speaker 2: So up top, I'm going to ask you both, do
- 7:36Speaker 2: you have a favorite actor from the Lord of the Rings.
- 7:39Speaker 3: I do.
- 7:40Speaker 4: I love the girl.
- 7:41Speaker 3: I know some girls growing up there were legalist girls,
- 7:45Speaker 3: and I respect their choices.
- 7:48Speaker 5: Has an Erragor and Gurley through and through to this day.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Absolutely, Amen, you've got you've got some woops. That's a
- 7:56Speaker 2: good answer. Yes, Johnny, what about yourself? Were you a
- 7:58Speaker 2: legalist girlie?
- 7:59Speaker 4: Yeah? Yes, yes, and still I am today. But my
- 8:06Speaker 4: choice is kind of a sleeper pig for those of
- 8:08Speaker 4: you Bernard Hill fans out there, for those of you
- 8:14Speaker 4: that have no idea what that is, it's the guy
- 8:16Speaker 4: that played theodin. Never saw him in another movie, but
- 8:19Speaker 4: he absolutely killed it in the Lord of the Rings.
- 8:21Speaker 4: So shout out to that guy.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Shout out to Bunded Hill. A couple of great choices there.
- 8:28Speaker 2: What I also need from you guys today is a
- 8:30Speaker 2: team name, possibly themed on the Castle.
- 8:32Speaker 6: The Lord of the Rings as possible.
- 8:35Speaker 4: Yeah, we've been working on this, yes.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And so don't tell them that they're not good.
- 8:41Speaker 4: We've been working hard on this for a month.
- 8:47Speaker 5: So I like, I'm quite keen on the Lord of
- 8:50Speaker 5: the Rings. So I'm thinking we could be toll keen okay,
- 8:57Speaker 5: a couple of bucks.
- 9:03Speaker 4: And the only thing that came to my mind in
- 9:05Speaker 4: the month we've been working on this was cabbage Patch Kids.
- 9:09Speaker 4: And I have no idea.
- 9:10Speaker 5: Why are there any cabbages in the Lord of the Rings.
- 9:13Speaker 4: There's I think the one when they're in Farmer Mab
- 9:16Speaker 4: gets crops, and there's the one cabbage.
- 9:21Speaker 5: So Marion our cabbage Patch Kids in your mind.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Yeah, but I think we're not going to do either
- 9:27Speaker 4: of those because we both like Bernard Hill Vigo Martinsen.
- 9:32Speaker 4: We're gonna go two Kings.
- 9:35Speaker 5: I love that. Okay, all right, we go the two Kings.
- 9:40Speaker 2: But let's let's find out who they're going to be
- 9:42Speaker 2: facing some opponents from the dockland of Model maybe Colorado Springs.
- 9:48Speaker 5: He is a.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Musician and Fortuca who enjoys building, which means something entirely
- 9:58Speaker 2: different from where I'm from.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Naughty Boy put your hands together for Qui Fraker.
- 10:06Speaker 2: And she is an improviser, actor, and cast member of
- 10:09Speaker 2: the Team of play Show podcast, where you can listen
- 10:11Speaker 2: to it at team offfyg dot com.
- 10:13Speaker 5: There's always time for a second plot.
- 10:16Speaker 4: For stephany backlod.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Okay, step Chris got to ask you a top because
- 10:24Speaker 2: that's the theme of the show.
- 10:25Speaker 5: You got a favorite Lord of the Rings cast member
- 10:28Speaker 5: after you?
- 10:29Speaker 4: I mean, I gotta go with the guy who just the.
- 10:34Speaker 7: Best dire in not like dying like colors, but just
- 10:39Speaker 7: literally dying good death, the good death guy, one of
- 10:47Speaker 7: the best deaths. You know, so many arrows right rightness chest.
- 10:52Speaker 6: Yeah, this is.
- 10:53Speaker 7: A family show, so it's I think I could say
- 10:56Speaker 7: arrows in the chest.
- 10:57Speaker 5: I'm not sure.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Yeah, that's such a loople Yeah, it's a lovely.
- 11:01Speaker 6: Thing to think about it. Eleven am, what about you?
- 11:04Speaker 3: You gotta favor it so you can maybe help me
- 11:06Speaker 3: out with who played the eagles?
- 11:11Speaker 5: But love those guys, Love all the animal actors, Love
- 11:15Speaker 5: the horses, the crows. We just really loved to shout
- 11:18Speaker 5: out the hard work of animals did in those films.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Yeah, no, good, shout out the horse. Everyone looks the horses,
- 11:25Speaker 2: the crows I think were real. I think the eagles
- 11:28Speaker 2: was cgi. Unfortunately, dang it, they don't make them that.
- 11:32Speaker 4: Yes, and your.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Opponent's going to be two kings. We need to find
- 11:37Speaker 2: out who you're going to be. What's what's your team names?
- 11:40Speaker 5: So Chris and I share a love of Birdie. Let's
- 11:42Speaker 5: just talk in my head. Sean Bean has a Birdie podcasts.
- 11:46Speaker 5: We could be Shanne first.
- 11:51Speaker 7: Shoot.
- 11:52Speaker 4: I like that a lot.
- 11:54Speaker 6: Love it's bees buzz.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I didn't have here be go again, but I think
- 12:00Speaker 3: this is that's our best favorite.
- 12:01Speaker 5: That's fair like your hand and I'll fight you. Yes,
- 12:05Speaker 5: this is a competition, dislike each other.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Yeah, you're going down? Why, Yeah, that's my mind. I
- 12:15Speaker 4: was gonna claim.
- 12:16Speaker 5: It's I'm going with beans buds.
- 12:19Speaker 6: Yeah, I love it so much.
- 12:22Speaker 5: I'm just gonna write this down because I'm using analogue.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Yes, six and bogs in the back. Can you guys
- 12:29Speaker 4: hear that's okay? Do we need to lean into the
- 12:31Speaker 4: MIC's a little bit better? Okay, thank you so much.
- 12:36Speaker 5: We'll get in it.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Okay, teams, we've got two Kings versus beans Birds.
- 12:43Speaker 5: You're already for some games, right, teams.
- 12:46Speaker 2: It's time to inherit some jewelry from our mad uncle
- 12:49Speaker 2: and walker. Ever, on and on into round one. Round
- 12:53Speaker 2: one is called Rotten. You say tomatoes, I say tomatoes.
- 12:57Speaker 2: It's the game where our teams will compose a move review,
- 13:00Speaker 2: one word at a time, back and forth between teammates.
- 13:04Speaker 6: That review will be about.
- 13:05Speaker 2: A movie that features a Lord of the Rings cast member,
- 13:08Speaker 2: which will be suggested by our wonderful fan Expo audience
- 13:11Speaker 2: in just a moment. The tone of your rotten tomatoes,
- 13:15Speaker 2: that's how it said. Review will be decided by a
- 13:19Speaker 2: role of this D one hundred to decide the percentage score.
- 13:23Speaker 2: And because we need another hat on this hat, a
- 13:25Speaker 2: spin of this wheel will decide the outlet you are writing.
- 13:29Speaker 6: That ring four? So are you ready?
- 13:32Speaker 4: Yes?
- 13:33Speaker 2: So, first up, it is going to be two kings
- 13:36Speaker 2: writing a review for a movie.
- 13:37Speaker 5: Could I get a suggestion of a movie that features
- 13:39Speaker 5: a Lord.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Of the Rings cast? Mom, you can just shout them out.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I love Titanic. Is Titanic a Bernard Hill won as well?
- 13:48Speaker 5: Great?
- 13:48Speaker 2: Okay, the tone of your review pretty in line with culture.
- 14:01Speaker 2: It's eighty seven an eighty seven percent review of Titanic.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Four.
- 14:06Speaker 2: This is taken away too long. I'm gonna stop it.
- 14:09Speaker 5: It's four the BBC. Be careful with your accents.
- 14:15Speaker 6: Thank your.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Okay, so when you're ready, take it away one word
- 14:20Speaker 2: at a time. Review for Titanic eighty seven percent for
- 14:23Speaker 2: the BBC.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Titanic it was a wonderful experience. I all of the water.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Frothing and.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Loud.
- 14:56Speaker 4: B Hill was enrapt and sexy.
- 15:12Speaker 5: What's phenomenal film? All right, that's everything you wants to
- 15:26Speaker 5: cover about Titanic. Yeah, yeah, that's what you need.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Bernie Hill was the guy that got painted like a
- 15:37Speaker 4: French b Right, that was a very good review.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I won't dwell too much on the accent there, Johnny,
- 15:44Speaker 2: that's not what we sound like. Chill, but look, I
- 15:52Speaker 2: love that review. I'm going to give you four out
- 15:53Speaker 2: of five points for that. Okay, Now we're going to
- 16:01Speaker 2: hear a review from Beans Birds. We need another movie
- 16:04Speaker 2: featuring a cast member from the Lord of the Ring.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Shout it out I like I always do in life.
- 16:10Speaker 2: I heard National Treasure. So we're gonna go in National Treasure.
- 16:15Speaker 5: If that's okay, We're going to get a percentage score.
- 16:18Speaker 5: And the one hundred here.
- 16:20Speaker 7: In National Treasure was also in Lord of the Rings.
- 16:25Speaker 6: I'm going to leave.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Sorry question review.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I'm so sorry the dice have gone against my own
- 16:33Speaker 2: view of National Treasure.
- 16:35Speaker 5: Twelve percent.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Twelve percent review of National Treasure. Four that's going to
- 16:44Speaker 2: be the Hollywood Reporter. All right, sure, yeah, CALLI go on. Yeah,
- 16:50Speaker 2: that's what people say yeah, sure, okay, So it's going
- 16:53Speaker 2: to be a twelve percent review of National Treasure for
- 16:56Speaker 2: the Hollywood Reporter.
- 16:57Speaker 6: Take it away.
- 16:58Speaker 7: Hey, guys, this freakin.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Movie was tram Nicholas was trap.
- 17:16Speaker 5: Sean was fine.
- 17:23Speaker 8: If I were a president of the United States America, I.
- 17:32Speaker 9: Wouldn't see this. I was so excited for this famba,
- 17:46Speaker 9: but unfortunately the freaking.
- 17:53Speaker 5: Plot was trap. But I love that please expressed during game.
- 18:13Speaker 5: I love the views.
- 18:17Speaker 4: Don't tell me because cage trash don't kill us.
- 18:22Speaker 2: So, like all of our opinions on National Treasure aside,
- 18:24Speaker 2: I thought that was a fantastic review.
- 18:25Speaker 6: It was pacey.
- 18:26Speaker 5: I loved the accents. I'm giving you the full five
- 18:28Speaker 5: out of five points.
- 18:34Speaker 2: But because we'd like to get some power to our
- 18:36Speaker 2: wonderful fan expol audience, let's hand out a bonus points
- 18:39Speaker 2: of whoever you felt gave the best review. So make
- 18:41Speaker 2: some noise if you thought it was Two Kings, make
- 18:46Speaker 2: some noise if you thought it was Bee's Books.
- 18:50Speaker 5: It's a bonus points. Bo likes.
- 18:57Speaker 7: I don't like it.
- 18:58Speaker 4: I don't like that at all.
- 19:00Speaker 5: Those birds are round. Yeah, we can do it too,
- 19:07Speaker 5: using my own joking kids to be.
- 19:10Speaker 4: I'm gonna write about this later.
- 19:13Speaker 5: All right, let's take a look at those scores.
- 19:15Speaker 2: At the end of round one, two kings are on
- 19:17Speaker 2: four points, beans birds are on six points.
- 19:23Speaker 5: Round two is called List of Mania.
- 19:25Speaker 2: It's the game where our players will each have ninety
- 19:28Speaker 2: seconds to communicate a list of five things related to
- 19:31Speaker 2: the Lord of the Rings cast to their opponent.
- 19:34Speaker 5: The trick is they can't say any.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Of the words on their list and do feel free
- 19:39Speaker 2: to play along, but like, if you shout it out,
- 19:41Speaker 2: then they'll cheese.
- 19:42Speaker 6: I know these guys.
- 19:47Speaker 2: So first up, we're gonna have Audra describing for Johnny. So, Audre,
- 19:51Speaker 2: you've never seen this listen before?
- 19:52Speaker 6: Correct?
- 19:53Speaker 2: Well, okay, good, that is good. Your category is characters
- 19:57Speaker 2: played by Andy Serkis, Howard does and the circus has played.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Okay, I of us know these I know. I would
- 20:08Speaker 4: say I know decent noumalities.
- 20:10Speaker 5: That makes one of us. Okay, you have ninety seconds
- 20:15Speaker 5: on the big clock. Your time starts now.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Oh my gosh. Who is in Lord of the Wings?
- 20:23Speaker 4: Absolutely one?
- 20:25Speaker 3: Okay?
- 20:26Speaker 5: In Batman?
- 20:27Speaker 3: Who?
- 20:28Speaker 4: Alpha? Okay? Alfred Pennyworth incredible. This is gonna be easier.
- 20:34Speaker 5: Should who just like hang out.
- 20:35Speaker 4: Yeah, just kidding.
- 20:39Speaker 1: There was a time on Earth when he was a
- 20:42Speaker 1: monkey planet of the ages.
- 20:44Speaker 5: But who is he?
- 20:45Speaker 4: Who is oh wait, yeah, oh okay, who.
- 20:53Speaker 5: Just get this one for now, the time when he
- 20:57Speaker 5: was an even bigger who's the who's the biggest safe?
- 21:03Speaker 3: You think?
- 21:04Speaker 4: Gokay?
- 21:08Speaker 5: Who in our team name? Uh huh there's one of
- 21:12Speaker 5: the words of this very very large part.
- 21:15Speaker 4: Hell king o king k.
- 21:23Speaker 5: So brought up on marble property.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Uh huh he's in something oh uh klap uh something clap.
- 21:29Speaker 6: I need the full name.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Okay, another full name.
- 21:34Speaker 5: Name or the name of a president that I can't
- 21:38Speaker 5: say what it starts with. Oh geez.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Grant so.
- 21:46Speaker 6: Yes, yes, full five points. That's up. Yeah, okay, let's
- 22:00Speaker 6: see it out.
- 22:01Speaker 5: Yes, you you cause have a handshake.
- 22:02Speaker 6: After that, I need a break.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Next up we are going to have Chris describing for
- 22:10Speaker 2: Steph and your category is Shakespeare plays starring sir Ian McKellen.
- 22:16Speaker 5: Oh good, down, break down was sure all right, No,
- 22:28Speaker 5: I know, I know, shakes were so good.
- 22:32Speaker 6: Your time starts now this one.
- 22:35Speaker 7: There's blood on the hands. Uh he was actually with
- 22:38Speaker 7: him this with Judy Dench.
- 22:40Speaker 3: That one.
- 22:40Speaker 5: Yeah, this one.
- 22:44Speaker 7: The first part of it goes great with cheese on
- 22:46Speaker 7: a sandwich. Oh, it's a meat okay, yeah, okay, So
- 22:55Speaker 7: what comes after the eleventh twelve night?
- 23:01Speaker 5: So Nixon? What's his first name? The other first name?
- 23:11Speaker 10: Sorry I should have been more clear, the other first names?
- 23:16Speaker 10: Oh no, this is a king, of which there were two.
- 23:23Speaker 7: Prior to him.
- 23:26Speaker 10: No, wrong, I.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Can't Yeah, okay, we'll go to.
- 23:42Speaker 7: The next one, this one, yes, yes, after the second yes, okay,
- 23:51Speaker 7: not a queen, but a I genuinely can't think of
- 24:03Speaker 7: another person named Richard other than Nixon.
- 24:07Speaker 4: What other Richards are there? I'm sure there's Garvan.
- 24:10Speaker 7: Wait what.
- 24:12Speaker 5: Oh, there's a lot.
- 24:14Speaker 4: There's just a time, and I'm an idiot. That's what appreciated.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I also I love the reference that Stapp has for
- 24:22Speaker 2: Richard Nixon whole president. It's firstly, the president actually put
- 24:27Speaker 2: some respect on that guy's name.
- 24:29Speaker 6: I also.
- 24:32Speaker 5: Be auditorially showing the shame.
- 24:36Speaker 2: And I also enjoyed at one point Chris just saying
- 24:39Speaker 2: to his teammate, wrong, I'm so sorry.
- 24:43Speaker 6: Look, I finally got it.
- 24:44Speaker 4: It was the full fight caught up in the game.
- 24:46Speaker 4: I'm so sorry. I would never say that to you.
- 24:52Speaker 6: Well, you should.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Let's put that to the test with an even more
- 24:59Speaker 2: obscure Lord of the Rings catsmen's the category, Johnny, you
- 25:03Speaker 2: will be describing jobs held by Sir Christopher Lee.
- 25:09Speaker 6: Okay, okay, when do I open it?
- 25:13Speaker 5: You can open it now, okay, but your time starts now.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Oh boy, m I six oh.
- 25:22Speaker 5: Spye secret agent? Yeah, oh yes, okay, I'm use the
- 25:26Speaker 5: secret agent.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Then.
- 25:27Speaker 4: Yes, when people fight each other, what's that called? Like
- 25:31Speaker 4: on a large scale war? Yes, but when you do
- 25:35Speaker 4: that in a bad way, you do war crimes. Yes, yes,
- 25:41Speaker 4: but do you.
- 25:46Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 25:50Speaker 4: You have to somebody has to check that out, you
- 25:53Speaker 4: know what I mean?
- 25:55Speaker 5: Investigator, Yes, okay.
- 26:00Speaker 6: Uh.
- 26:01Speaker 4: There's a genre of music jazz.
- 26:07Speaker 2: So broad.
- 26:08Speaker 4: I'm so sorry. It's consort of rock and roll, but
- 26:11Speaker 4: kind of in an intense way.
- 26:13Speaker 5: Yes, yes, wow, oh.
- 26:19Speaker 4: The one that's very obvious that he portrayed in the
- 26:22Speaker 4: Lord of the Rings and Star Wars actor. Yes, yes, yes.
- 26:26Speaker 4: And finally, this is a place where there's a lot
- 26:31Speaker 4: of cubicles and desks. Hell, have ten seconds, sorry.
- 26:38Speaker 5: Office worker, office administrator.
- 26:40Speaker 6: I'll give you that.
- 26:41Speaker 5: Yeah, it's office flux, yeah, flus in the records of.
- 26:50Speaker 2: War Criminals.
- 26:53Speaker 3: We know.
- 27:00Speaker 4: It wasn't Star Wars though, that's true, that's true.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Okay, we have one more obscure niche list as I
- 27:08Speaker 2: searched through the old Internet of Wikipedia for different categories.
- 27:13Speaker 6: So step you will be describing for.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Chris and it is animals featured in episode titles of
- 27:18Speaker 2: Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan.
- 27:23Speaker 5: An Okay, are you ready? Time starts now? Shark, lots
- 27:34Speaker 5: of legs, really big.
- 27:36Speaker 4: Spider in it's not as nimisic.
- 27:39Speaker 5: Because lots of legs.
- 27:40Speaker 4: Lots of legs.
- 27:41Speaker 5: Yeah, more than a spider, more legs than a spider.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Yeah, a big, big one.
- 27:52Speaker 5: What's another word for big.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Giant?
- 27:57Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 28:00Speaker 5: What Dracula turns into?
- 28:02Speaker 6: What says.
- 28:04Speaker 5: Ghosts?
- 28:06Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 28:16Speaker 8: Something else you find on the beach falling out of
- 28:18Speaker 8: the tree, coconut crash.
- 28:22Speaker 5: Oh boy, we'll start with the end of this ribbon.
- 28:29Speaker 5: I'm going back another word. What was frothy the ocean
- 28:33Speaker 5: in there in the review? What was frothy water?
- 28:35Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 28:37Speaker 4: Water frog?
- 28:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna skip the next word. What a big
- 28:41Speaker 5: a big body of that liquid?
- 28:44Speaker 4: Ocean?
- 28:45Speaker 5: Is smaller? See smaller and fresh? Yes, all right, Blake
- 28:51Speaker 5: blank water frog a word in might use for pooh,
- 29:00Speaker 5: that's your time.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I'm so glad I was the last I had a
- 29:05Speaker 2: late tittyca Lake Frog it is, but it was after
- 29:08Speaker 2: the time.
- 29:08Speaker 6: I'm afraid.
- 29:10Speaker 5: Sorry, I'm so sorry.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Come on, if we don't have rules, we have nothing
- 29:15Speaker 4: that you're wrong. Thanks for sticking the rules man, Thank you.
- 29:19Speaker 5: Yeah, I really appreciate that.
- 29:21Speaker 8: Yeah, I feel like I knew that, but I wasn't
- 29:24Speaker 8: sure about saying titty karka as Sincerely.
- 29:30Speaker 5: It's a geographical place. It's OK, it's not rude to
- 29:33Speaker 5: say that.
- 29:33Speaker 4: That's fair enough, the excuse his excuses. Okay.
- 29:38Speaker 2: At the end of round two, let's take a look
- 29:40Speaker 2: at the current scores. Two Kings are on fourteen points.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Beans Birds are still in the lead with fifteen points.
- 29:55Speaker 5: Ground three is called Pitch and Switch.
- 29:58Speaker 2: It's the game where our teams will each have two
- 30:00Speaker 2: minutes to make an elevator pitch for a new movie
- 30:04Speaker 2: starring a former Middle Earth actor.
- 30:06Speaker 5: The twist is that whenever I.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Yell switch the player pitching the idea will change, and
- 30:11Speaker 2: they must pick up from where their teammates left off,
- 30:14Speaker 2: hopefully ending with some sort of coherent idea I can
- 30:17Speaker 2: take to Hollywood.
- 30:19Speaker 5: But no worries if that's not what we end up with,
- 30:21Speaker 5: if it ends up being totally chaotic, it'll.
- 30:23Speaker 6: Still be fun.
- 30:24Speaker 5: I reckon, you only directed that at me.
- 30:31Speaker 2: So going first it will be two Kings and first
- 30:35Speaker 2: off from our wonderful fan Expo audience. I need the
- 30:37Speaker 2: title of a movie that doesn't exist, so it could
- 30:41Speaker 2: be anything.
- 30:46Speaker 7: I love it.
- 30:47Speaker 3: What was that?
- 30:48Speaker 2: Sorry? Gigantic Gigantic little Planets.
- 30:56Speaker 5: I love that's so much. That's a great movie title.
- 30:59Speaker 2: And now let's have an actor from Middle Earth who
- 31:01Speaker 2: is starring in gigantic living Planets as fun.
- 31:09Speaker 5: As it would be amazing. I heard Sean Assen.
- 31:13Speaker 2: I think Sean Assen starring in Gigantic Living Planets is
- 31:17Speaker 2: gonna be your Sorry.
- 31:18Speaker 4: I need a second to imagine Jack Black is every
- 31:21Speaker 4: character and how amazing? I mean, what is Peter Jackson
- 31:28Speaker 4: if not New Zealand Jack Blast. I feel like an argument.
- 31:32Speaker 6: Could be made.
- 31:35Speaker 5: Absolutely we could, to be honest for a couple of minutes.
- 31:38Speaker 6: I had a schedule.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Do you want to make that argument right now? So
- 31:44Speaker 2: we are going to have two minutes on the clock.
- 31:46Speaker 2: What's the title of the movie you are pitching?
- 31:48Speaker 4: Gag Antic Living plan Sorry, not Jack Black, Seawan Aston.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Okay, who would like to start the pitch? I would
- 31:58Speaker 2: love to, okay, aldre it away. When I yell switch, Switch, go,
- 32:03Speaker 2: we open.
- 32:03Speaker 5: Up on a galaxy.
- 32:04Speaker 1: It suits in and in and in so close into
- 32:08Speaker 1: a house and then right into Sean Aston's face.
- 32:13Speaker 5: He smiles, knowing that he lives on a big living plant.
- 32:17Speaker 6: Switch.
- 32:18Speaker 11: And then you realize that Sean Aston is the planet
- 32:25Speaker 11: and his brain is the beating core of the planet.
- 32:29Speaker 5: And it happens switch. It happens to be a metaphor
- 32:33Speaker 5: for AI and how this is taking our minds and
- 32:40Speaker 5: where does it end? And where do we begin?
- 32:44Speaker 6: But where also switch?
- 32:47Speaker 4: Where also are the other living planets.
- 32:51Speaker 12: One reaches out its hand to sean Aston planet and
- 32:55Speaker 12: then caresses his face generally, and they look switch into each.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Other's eyes and realize is this his mother Earth, the
- 33:08Speaker 1: mother to the Earth, that is.
- 33:10Speaker 4: Sean Aston switch living planet. And at this point everybody
- 33:17Speaker 4: will be crying.
- 33:18Speaker 13: And so I think I hit a switch, a big
- 33:23Speaker 13: swelling instrumental as we just go across the Earth switch
- 33:30Speaker 13: to find Jack Black.
- 33:37Speaker 5: Mother Earth, the other planet.
- 33:40Speaker 4: He's living a wonderful switch planting things, eating the work
- 33:47Speaker 4: of his hands, switch.
- 33:50Speaker 5: And communing with nature in a way.
- 33:53Speaker 4: Switch that no one's ever commune with nature. Switch And
- 33:58Speaker 4: we can take this home with us and it'll it'll
- 34:03Speaker 4: im and that.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I like the idea of making the pitch to the
- 34:14Speaker 2: Oscar board of like, look, it's going to impact your
- 34:15Speaker 2: whole life.
- 34:18Speaker 5: Something has to.
- 34:20Speaker 6: I was moved by that.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Yeah, me too, Yeah, zooming in on Sean Aston's face
- 34:25Speaker 2: like that, and then it just you found a way
- 34:27Speaker 2: to work Jack black in as well.
- 34:29Speaker 6: Yeah you might be available?
- 34:31Speaker 4: What might be sure?
- 34:34Speaker 2: That's that's I'm going to hold off on storing yours
- 34:36Speaker 2: until I hear the other pitch because I think I'd
- 34:38Speaker 2: like to hear them stack to gains and job.
- 34:39Speaker 6: Okay, all right, or I'll be lazy and let the
- 34:43Speaker 6: audience decide. Okay.
- 34:45Speaker 2: So next up, beans, birds are going to need the
- 34:48Speaker 2: title of a movie that does not exist?
- 34:54Speaker 1: What with?
- 34:54Speaker 5: What with those two over there by? What rothy trash?
- 35:03Speaker 2: I love it, sitting in a chair of frothy trash.
- 35:08Speaker 2: It's the hit movie everyone's been waiting for. And which
- 35:12Speaker 2: Lord of the Rings cast member should be starring in this?
- 35:22Speaker 5: You can't just name.
- 35:23Speaker 4: People that have been in Minecraft. We know what you're doing.
- 35:27Speaker 1: We're on you.
- 35:34Speaker 6: As funny as it would be to choose Kyle Gas.
- 35:37Speaker 2: I did hear Carl Urban, who I believe is here,
- 35:40Speaker 2: so that'd be o Carl, Please don't steal my jokes
- 35:49Speaker 2: from like.
- 35:52Speaker 6: So the title of your movie.
- 35:53Speaker 5: Is sitting in a chair of frothy trash, right and
- 35:59Speaker 5: it is starring Carl Carl Oban. All right, you have
- 36:02Speaker 5: two minutes. Who would like to stop the pitch?
- 36:05Speaker 4: I will I suppose?
- 36:06Speaker 5: Okay, Seth, Like I said, when have you already? It's
- 36:08Speaker 5: actually right now.
- 36:11Speaker 3: Imagine a place in the ocean size of Texas full
- 36:21Speaker 3: of plastic, floating.
- 36:25Speaker 7: Floating switch and in the middle of all of that
- 36:30Speaker 7: floating plastic there's a chair and it's filled with even
- 36:35Speaker 7: frothier plastic and trash.
- 36:38Speaker 6: Switch.
- 36:41Speaker 5: As we zoom in on the chair the algae scene
- 36:46Speaker 5: with the plastic, we.
- 36:48Speaker 7: See switch Carl Urban standing on his head on the trash. Okay,
- 36:57Speaker 7: hear me, now, hear me out. You're you're, you're, you're,
- 36:59Speaker 7: you're okay, shut down.
- 37:02Speaker 5: Now, switch, Yeah, you're okay, you're okay, Just stay with us.
- 37:07Speaker 5: He's on his head because he has he's taking on
- 37:13Speaker 5: the power of the trash switch.
- 37:16Speaker 4: He is becoming the trash man. It's going in through
- 37:19Speaker 4: his head, through his cranium. He's absorbing it, and he's switch.
- 37:24Speaker 3: We're gonna solve superhero fatigue and the plastic in the
- 37:28Speaker 3: ocean protg in one movie.
- 37:31Speaker 7: Which switch with Carl Urban's head absorbing all the ocean trash.
- 37:37Speaker 4: Okay, you're not listening to me, which.
- 37:41Speaker 5: I know what you're thinking. The movie needs plot, it
- 37:44Speaker 5: maybe needs the love interests, but we said we've had
- 37:47Speaker 5: enough of that.
- 37:48Speaker 4: Witch shot.
- 37:49Speaker 7: Backing away from me, Matt, it's Carl Urban and he's
- 37:52Speaker 7: the size of Texas.
- 37:53Speaker 5: Witch upside down, his pinky finger sitting on a plastic
- 38:00Speaker 5: switch and it's broken and just like the rest of us, match.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Switch and then he's frying. Actually, I got your pay.
- 38:16Speaker 5: That was expo.
- 38:17Speaker 2: You also got very aggressive towards the person you were
- 38:20Speaker 2: pitching the movie too, But I think you've got to
- 38:22Speaker 2: be like that with these Hollywood you got.
- 38:24Speaker 4: You got to make them fear for their lives. I'm
- 38:26Speaker 4: pretty sure I don't know.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Allegedly, Okay, well, I do technically have up to five
- 38:31Speaker 2: points for each team to hand out, but I'm feeling
- 38:34Speaker 2: like outsourcing. Some of this work make some noise If
- 38:37Speaker 2: you thought the best review was from Two Kings, all
- 38:45Speaker 2: that makes some noise if you thought the best review
- 38:47Speaker 2: is from Beans Buds. Okay, there was slightly more sustained
- 38:55Speaker 2: for two Kings. I'm gonna go five points four points
- 39:02Speaker 2: le plan Yeah, oh good stuff. Sorry it's to talk.
- 39:10Speaker 5: But that's the end of round three.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Let's look at those scores heading into the final quick
- 39:15Speaker 2: fire around. Those scores are Two Kings are on nineteen points.
- 39:21Speaker 2: Beans Birds are also on nineteen points.
- 39:25Speaker 6: It could not be closer.
- 39:27Speaker 5: Drama, and I should say the prize that we're playing
- 39:32Speaker 5: for are the rights to those two movies that were
- 39:35Speaker 5: just pitched for it. Okay, yes, I think sitting on
- 39:41Speaker 5: a chair and probably Trash is gonna go far. Yeah, Legs,
- 39:48Speaker 5: I want to.
- 39:48Speaker 1: See you build that superhero in t bye.
- 39:52Speaker 5: Playing in a campaign. Okay, we're ready for our final
- 39:56Speaker 5: quick fire around.
- 39:57Speaker 6: Should we do this?
- 39:58Speaker 5: Anything could change, anything could happen.
- 40:00Speaker 2: Final quick fire rounds will test your broader pop culture
- 40:02Speaker 2: knowledge and.
- 40:03Speaker 6: It's called cast clash.
- 40:05Speaker 2: I will give our players clues to a Lord of
- 40:07Speaker 2: the Rings cast member and something else from general knowledge
- 40:11Speaker 2: to form a run on answer. When merged together, that
- 40:14Speaker 2: sounds funny and silly. It's so it's always the name
- 40:17Speaker 2: of the actor followed by the other things. So, for example,
- 40:19Speaker 2: if I said Sam Wai Scamgee is driving James Bond
- 40:23Speaker 2: around in his favorite make of car, a car often
- 40:26Speaker 2: converted to be bulletproof or invisible, the answer would be.
- 40:31Speaker 5: Fantastic stuff. I don't think any of these for you.
- 40:34Speaker 6: That, So this is going to be it is quick fire.
- 40:38Speaker 5: So flus in by yelling out your team name. Let's
- 40:40Speaker 5: practice that now. Yeah, that sounds like your name. I'm
- 40:48Speaker 5: just yelling beans.
- 40:49Speaker 6: I don't Beans versus Kings.
- 40:52Speaker 4: Yeah, well I will King.
- 40:54Speaker 6: The classic American context, it was.
- 40:58Speaker 2: The Revolutionary War, Okay, so yeah, interrupt me at any
- 41:05Speaker 2: point during the clue.
- 41:05Speaker 6: Should we do this? Let's do it? Yeah, let's go.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Legless is doing some shopping at a famous upmarket pace.
- 41:13Speaker 5: Yes, dev Orlando Bloomingdale. It is indeed Orlando Bloomingdale.
- 41:20Speaker 4: Damn, she's good.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Gandalf is chatting with a disgraced former daytime talk show host.
- 41:27Speaker 2: She received bullying allegations from format. I heard it at
- 41:32Speaker 2: the same time, So I'm going to go.
- 41:33Speaker 5: To King's Ian McKellen degenerous. It is indeed Ian McKellen
- 41:38Speaker 5: de generous, good stuff.
- 41:39Speaker 2: Sarah Man is trying to stop the individual responsible for
- 41:43Speaker 2: the last successful assassination attempt against him.
- 41:46Speaker 5: Yes, Chris, Christopher Lee, Harvey Oswald.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Yes, probably the only time wee Harvey Oswald's name is
- 41:53Speaker 2: going to be said at this convention. Arwyn is watching
- 41:56Speaker 2: a movie starring Ed Norton and Brad Pitt. The in
- 41:59Speaker 2: cell was frequently missing surprise Kings, but he did also
- 42:06Speaker 2: then say Kings, I know it, Yes, I know it.
- 42:11Speaker 6: Yes he does.
- 42:13Speaker 4: I don't think I know this.
- 42:16Speaker 6: He did close in though as the day he did.
- 42:18Speaker 6: Shall I read more of the clue?
- 42:19Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, anyone means yess Tyler Durgan, Durden, Durgin.
- 42:25Speaker 6: One of them was correct. Lived.
- 42:28Speaker 5: Tyler Durden was the answer, and that was fight Club.
- 42:34Speaker 6: Frode got cold playing with his little cowboy.
- 42:36Speaker 2: This toy comes to life in a famous picks off friendships.
- 42:43Speaker 14: No, yeah, beans, yeah sorry wait Elijah, Yeah, that was
- 42:53Speaker 14: like Elijah toy story. Imagine if he had a Sunday
- 43:00Speaker 14: Smith and.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Eoma is learning how to connect the infrastructure of human settlements.
- 43:09Speaker 6: Yes, Chris, very good. I can only give you one point,
- 43:14Speaker 6: but that is.
- 43:14Speaker 5: Excellent thanks to whoever said that earlier.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Next one, Smiegel is enjoying a packet of classic orange
- 43:29Speaker 2: marshmallow Andy.
- 43:36Speaker 6: It is Andy Circus.
- 43:38Speaker 4: We're in their heads. We're saying name, You're in my head.
- 43:43Speaker 2: Greamer Worm Tongue is taking part in a comedy comedy
- 43:46Speaker 2: commentary series in the style of Mystery Science Theater three thousand.
- 43:50Speaker 5: He's going to provide commentary to Seed of Chucky.
- 43:54Speaker 4: Oh oh, what's his name? I don't know that guy's name.
- 43:59Speaker 4: That has me. He's got a fun still, don't doesn't
- 44:07Speaker 4: help me out.
- 44:09Speaker 5: The second part.
- 44:12Speaker 4: Answer say it again, man?
- 44:14Speaker 6: Do won't go the full answer for this one.
- 44:17Speaker 4: Yes, it is absolutely that's.
- 44:23Speaker 6: The audience is catching up.
- 44:25Speaker 3: What are we doing here?
- 44:27Speaker 2: Galadriel is shooting a movie with Woodi's disgraced third son,
- 44:32Speaker 2: famous for his white boy summer and the opposite of his.
- 44:35Speaker 6: Father's protected brand.
- 44:37Speaker 7: Oh no beats Yes, Christ Kate Blanchette Hanks.
- 44:41Speaker 5: It is indeed Kate Blanchette Hanks.
- 44:48Speaker 7: I unfortunately know exactly who Chet Hanks is, and I'm
- 44:51Speaker 7: very ashamed of myself.
- 44:54Speaker 6: He's having a white boy summer. Marry a doc.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Brandybuck is taking a trip to the capital of Vietnam,
- 45:00Speaker 2: which rocks.
- 45:00Speaker 5: He's probably there to look at bugs or something. How
- 45:05Speaker 5: is your global geography?
- 45:07Speaker 4: That's it?
- 45:09Speaker 3: You know?
- 45:10Speaker 5: Wait, what's the I think the audience is gonna get
- 45:14Speaker 5: this one.
- 45:14Speaker 6: I'm seeing A handn't be raised.
- 45:16Speaker 5: It is indeed dominic bona noise, Bilbo back.
- 45:21Speaker 2: The humor at these, I promise Bilbo Baggins is on
- 45:24Speaker 2: the run from this iconic English detective duo, one of.
- 45:27Speaker 5: Them, yes, the step Ian Holmes and what nice.
- 45:35Speaker 2: And quick before the buzzer borrow Mere is sat low
- 45:38Speaker 2: to the ground on a large squishy cushions.
- 45:42Speaker 6: I heard beans first?
- 45:48Speaker 12: Who win?
- 45:59Speaker 2: Man? Usually when we do these, I make some kind
- 46:04Speaker 2: of pretense that it's close, that's not gonna happen before
- 46:10Speaker 2: we get to those final scores. I'd like to thank
- 46:12Speaker 2: today's players. You've all been a fellowship of fun, two
- 46:16Speaker 2: powers of comedy, and hopefully we get to return next year.
- 46:24Speaker 6: Just just real, quickly call the stores.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Johnny Steph you have created the fantastic new superhero TTRPG
- 46:30Speaker 2: called Team Up. You also created and start in the
- 46:33Speaker 2: Team Up play show podcast. Tell these wonderful folks about
- 46:35Speaker 2: Team Up and where they can check you guys out.
- 46:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I always time for a third club, Always Mina,
- 46:42Speaker 4: Johnny Wilson, Steph you guys know this already, but I've
- 46:46Speaker 4: made a superhero ttrpg. So if you like tt RPGs,
- 46:49Speaker 4: if you like superheroes, it's definitely for you. It's called
- 46:52Speaker 4: Team Up. You can check us out on teamuparpg dot com.
- 46:56Speaker 4: But then we also have a play show, so if
- 46:57Speaker 4: you're like a fan of stuff like Mad or Dimension twenty,
- 47:02Speaker 4: any critical role fans in here, Yeah, check it out.
- 47:07Speaker 4: It's called the Team Up Placial podcast. You can find
- 47:09Speaker 4: it anywhere you listen to podcasts. Myself and Steph are
- 47:13Speaker 4: on there, and we have a lot of fun. So
- 47:16Speaker 4: come join us, fat if you like actual play and superheroes.
- 47:19Speaker 4: It's the first of it's kind, so it's a good time.
- 47:21Speaker 6: Yeah, that's it. Thank you so much.
- 47:23Speaker 5: John stet P joinings of this episode.
- 47:26Speaker 6: Your podcast is my favorite podcast.
- 47:28Speaker 2: Oh thanks man, But don't be too nice to me
- 47:32Speaker 2: because I now have to rethose sings. So those final
- 47:37Speaker 2: scores are I mean, first of all, we've got to
- 47:39Speaker 2: say the audience finishes on three points.
- 47:46Speaker 6: So very good stuff.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Smart two Kings finish on twenty one points, but today's
- 47:54Speaker 2: went yeah, I give him around the clause, but now
- 47:57Speaker 2: given even bigger round of the Pollsterphens Futs finish on
- 48:00Speaker 2: twenty seven point.
- 48:04Speaker 4: This is clean pantemonium.
- 48:06Speaker 5: Thank you so much for coming to see us life.
- 48:08Speaker 7: Give yourself a big give it up one final.
- 48:13Speaker 6: Time, Chris, Me and sem.
- 48:20Speaker 2: And there it was LeapFrog's live show from Fan Expo
- 48:24Speaker 2: Denver that I had a big grin on my face
- 48:26Speaker 2: the whole time.
- 48:28Speaker 1: Oh gosh, I think the whole time of the show,
- 48:32Speaker 1: I either had a huge grin on my face or
- 48:34Speaker 1: such a concentrated face to be like, Okay, we're locking
- 48:39Speaker 1: in for this game.
- 48:41Speaker 2: I love how much that adds to the show of
- 48:45Speaker 2: like two teams seriously un seriously competing with each other.
- 48:50Speaker 1: Because it is simultaneously the most and least serious thing
- 48:53Speaker 1: on earth.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Yep, that's the modern age we live in. A Oh,
- 48:59Speaker 2: that was so much fun. I hope that, based on
- 49:02Speaker 2: the cheer we got, we hoped to do that again
- 49:05Speaker 2: next year because that would be so much fun.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Yeah, to just be able to go back up and
- 49:10Speaker 1: play another time and do it with all the excitement
- 49:14Speaker 1: a little lesser the nerves and just be like, ah, yes,
- 49:17Speaker 1: we've done this.
- 49:18Speaker 2: Yes, let's talk about the nerves of the day itself,
- 49:21Speaker 2: because I think we all kept it together really well.
- 49:24Speaker 2: But we were also I certainly channeled my nervousness into
- 49:28Speaker 2: the logistics of getting there. Yes, So we drove up
- 49:32Speaker 2: to Denver, the four of us, and met Chris there
- 49:35Speaker 2: at the convention itself, but myself, you, Stephan Johnny, we
- 49:39Speaker 2: drove up together, but we parked on the outskirts of
- 49:42Speaker 2: Denver so that we could get the the light rail,
- 49:48Speaker 2: the light rail that I was going to say, the
- 49:53Speaker 2: underground I was gonna let you, we called the light rail,
- 49:59Speaker 2: which was really good. Public transport always calms me, always
- 50:03Speaker 2: makes me feel like, ah, yes, we live in a
- 50:05Speaker 2: working society.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Just a plug here for public transportation. Yeah.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Always. And then the super easy thing was that that
- 50:14Speaker 2: the station for the light rail was right underneath the
- 50:17Speaker 2: convention center, so without any extra anxiety being allowed to build,
- 50:22Speaker 2: it was just from one one space to the next space,
- 50:26Speaker 2: with hardly any liminal in between. Ah.
- 50:28Speaker 1: We just followed the hundreds of cosplayers. Yes, where the
- 50:33Speaker 1: flow of cosplay went, we went also ah, this must
- 50:37Speaker 1: be the way mm hmm.
- 50:39Speaker 2: And then it did feel kind of It felt kind
- 50:41Speaker 2: of cool being able to walk up to the will
- 50:44Speaker 2: coldesk and ask for our special performance passes.
- 50:48Speaker 1: They look different as performers at the expo, and I
- 50:53Speaker 1: know that because when we were waiting for Chris, I
- 50:55Speaker 1: was looking at everybody else's badge and I was like,
- 50:58Speaker 1: do I have a special bag?
- 51:01Speaker 3: Oh?
- 51:01Speaker 2: It was so good. We felt like such special little children.
- 51:06Speaker 4: Oh wow.
- 51:08Speaker 2: And once we scanned and activated those, we were we
- 51:12Speaker 2: were inside the convention. Sadly we didn't. We were there
- 51:15Speaker 2: at about an hour before our shore, but we also
- 51:19Speaker 2: had various production meetings and appointments back in the Springs
- 51:24Speaker 2: later that day, so we didn't actually get to spend
- 51:26Speaker 2: a ton of time at the fin Xpo itself. But
- 51:29Speaker 2: for the hour that we were hanging around in the hallways,
- 51:32Speaker 2: you were you were flying for our show.
- 51:35Speaker 1: I was certain that they had put us in a
- 51:37Speaker 1: medium sized room and it was going to be no
- 51:39Speaker 1: one but Chris's friends, sure, which would have been amazing,
- 51:43Speaker 1: Which would have been amazing, God bless them, Thank them,
- 51:46Speaker 1: Thank you guys so much for showing up.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but I thought that we were.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Going to have a room that seated two hundred and
- 51:53Speaker 1: there was going to be five people there, right, And
- 51:55Speaker 1: I was flyering with that energy. Any any Gandolf castplay said,
- 52:03Speaker 1: I saw. I was scurrying up to them with my
- 52:06Speaker 1: little flyers, and a couple of them were the people
- 52:09Speaker 1: that were in the room.
- 52:10Speaker 2: I was gonna say it worked. But as it turns out,
- 52:14Speaker 2: Fan Export did a great job of marketing their lineup
- 52:17Speaker 2: and their programming because we played at eleven am. Yeah,
- 52:23Speaker 2: our shore was eleven till eleven forty five, So obviously
- 52:26Speaker 2: you might have just heard a shorter pandemonium than normal
- 52:29Speaker 2: studio episodes are going to say stay just as long
- 52:32Speaker 2: and rambling, don't you worry, don't worry. But yeah, they
- 52:36Speaker 2: must have marketed so well because what fifteen minutes before
- 52:40Speaker 2: we went in, there was a line around the corner.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Yeah, that was such a startling experience because the line
- 52:46Speaker 1: went around the corner and so it was about fifteen
- 52:49Speaker 1: people until it went and disappeared around the corner, and
- 52:53Speaker 1: so I was like, ah, yes, a good turnout, maybe
- 52:57Speaker 1: twenty five, uh huh. And then Chris went around the
- 53:01Speaker 1: corner to go to the bathroom. Typical Chris, Yeah, I
- 53:07Speaker 1: think you are. I'm glad you're saying this at the
- 53:09Speaker 1: end of the podcast. So it's the hard cares who
- 53:11Speaker 1: are still listening. We love Chris so much. So Chris
- 53:15Speaker 1: went around the bathroom around the corner to find the bathroom,
- 53:18Speaker 1: came back and reported eyes the size of dinner plates.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that line just keeps going. So and then over
- 53:28Speaker 2: two hundred people, like we keep saying two hundred is
- 53:31Speaker 2: the number. That's like our conservative estimate based on like
- 53:34Speaker 2: the number of rose and things.
- 53:36Speaker 1: Rose and columns of chairs that we remember, and then
- 53:40Speaker 1: we rounded down.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Yeah, if we were wrestling promoters, we would say there
- 53:44Speaker 2: was four hundred people in that four fifty four fifty.
- 53:47Speaker 1: If we were wrestling promoters for fifty people, and.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Yeah, as we discussed up top, I felt a little
- 53:54Speaker 2: nervous when I saw how many people there were. But
- 53:57Speaker 2: then I was just like I looked around, saw that
- 53:59Speaker 2: it was you and Chris and Steph and Johnny, and
- 54:02Speaker 2: that brought a ton of calm. But then also I
- 54:06Speaker 2: realized we've done this format there or thereabouts like over
- 54:11Speaker 2: one hundred times, Like this isn't new territory. So I
- 54:16Speaker 2: just like locked in for this is our thing, this
- 54:19Speaker 2: is what we do. Let's show it off.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think that that energy, that's a great energy,
- 54:25Speaker 1: because we do know what we're doing. We've done this
- 54:27Speaker 1: show a bunch, and we've made so many people laugh,
- 54:31Speaker 1: and like, I know that we've made so many people laugh.
- 54:33Speaker 1: But it was just a special experience to have it
- 54:35Speaker 1: all happening right in front of my face. Yeah, yeah,
- 54:39Speaker 1: it really was.
- 54:39Speaker 2: And I am going to treasure that moment as our
- 54:43Speaker 2: first convention for forever. It's that's a moment that's.
- 54:47Speaker 1: Captured first first, first convention.
- 54:51Speaker 2: Well, well, I say first convention because now that we
- 54:54Speaker 2: played this one to such success, I kind of have
- 54:57Speaker 2: my eyes on some other conventions and maybe so festivals
- 55:01Speaker 2: in twenty twenty seven. I don't why I said it,
- 55:06Speaker 2: like like.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Twenty twenty seven is a spooky year.
- 55:09Speaker 2: It's actually probably going to be quite a great year
- 55:12Speaker 2: and certainly chill, the.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Opposite of spooky, probably fingers crossed. Fingers crossed.
- 55:18Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, we've we've had a bit of a chat
- 55:21Speaker 2: about what we could do in the future now that
- 55:23Speaker 2: it's been several weeks since the Fan XPO, And yeah,
- 55:27Speaker 2: it felt like that trial run was a success, and
- 55:30Speaker 2: so next year we will be applying for conventions and
- 55:35Speaker 2: festivals across the country.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Oh, yes, road trip, road trip, we may fly. We
- 55:41Speaker 1: were probably I did that, I chanted and then it
- 55:44Speaker 1: was like that is a check I cannot catch.
- 55:50Speaker 2: Oh man, if we had the time and space to
- 55:52Speaker 2: make it a road trip, hire some kind of RV, gone.
- 55:56Speaker 1: To a Ooh that would be so fun. Put a
- 55:58Speaker 1: pandemonium or like DCAL on the side. Yes, that'd be
- 56:03Speaker 1: so good. Twenty twenty twenty nine. Yeah, yeah, I'm going
- 56:07Speaker 1: to give myself a buffer.
- 56:08Speaker 2: Year to twenty twenty eight is an election. Yeah, we're
- 56:11Speaker 2: going to be so busy. We'll do our European tour then.
- 56:15Speaker 2: So I think the goal of this DIY mini tour
- 56:18Speaker 2: across various states and places in twenty twenty seven is
- 56:23Speaker 2: to try and play about five different locations. One of
- 56:26Speaker 2: them might be Denver again. Please Denver, Please, we did
- 56:32Speaker 2: great this year. Please let us come back. Yes. Listen
- 56:35Speaker 2: to the cheer they gave when we asked the question.
- 56:38Speaker 2: M yeah, So the plan is to still play six
- 56:42Speaker 2: shows at the Peak in prov Theater, but then try
- 56:45Speaker 2: and play about five shows outside of at the Peak
- 56:48Speaker 2: in Prov theater and play various conventions and festivals to
- 56:53Speaker 2: still produce roughly the same amount of live shows per
- 56:56Speaker 2: year and make that the standard going forward. Because I
- 56:59Speaker 2: still love the studio shows. I love the balance of
- 57:02Speaker 2: the two. I think it makes for a great podcast feed.
- 57:05Speaker 2: I don't know, you tell me it makes for a
- 57:08Speaker 2: great podcast feed to be a part of. Okay, no,
- 57:11Speaker 2: that okay, that's good news.
- 57:13Speaker 1: As someone who's on almost every single episode, I like it,
- 57:19Speaker 1: and we hope you liked that too. That was, as
- 57:22Speaker 1: we've said, a surreal experience for us. We hope it
- 57:25Speaker 1: brought you a lot of joy listening to it. If
- 57:27Speaker 1: you're someone who has supported us from the very beginning
- 57:30Speaker 1: or from quite early on, thank you so much for
- 57:34Speaker 1: all of your support over the years. It is because
- 57:37Speaker 1: of you that we are able to do things like this.
- 57:40Speaker 1: Whether you are someone who just listens for free every
- 57:43Speaker 1: week and tells friends and family about this comedy panel
- 57:47Speaker 1: show that we make independently, or if you're someone who
- 57:51Speaker 1: has been supporting us on Patreon recently or for a
- 57:55Speaker 1: long time now, everything you contribute to this goes back
- 58:00Speaker 1: into the expansion and production of this very show. That's
- 58:03Speaker 1: how independent content creation works, and I think we've possibly
- 58:08Speaker 1: graduated where we don't have to say that what we
- 58:10Speaker 1: make is content.
- 58:11Speaker 2: I think what we make is a show.
- 58:13Speaker 1: I think we make a show.
- 58:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it only took.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Five years of us doing a show for us to
- 58:19Speaker 1: say maybe we make a show.
- 58:22Speaker 2: All right, Well with that, and our show is officially started.
- 58:25Speaker 2: His to the next five years. Cheers, cheers. We just
- 58:29Speaker 2: cheersed our coffee.
- 58:30Speaker 5: Amen.
- 58:31Speaker 2: And that's not all the live action that's comeing up
- 58:33Speaker 2: this month. In two weeks time, we'll be releasing another
- 58:37Speaker 2: live episode from our home at the Peak Improv Theater,
- 58:41Speaker 2: and it's our kind of nebulous, not really fandom episode
- 58:45Speaker 2: of the year. It is The Great Outdoors Expansive, so expansive,
- 58:52Speaker 2: I've really had to narrow it down to some really
- 58:54Speaker 2: specific parts of the Great Outdoors, but that is such
- 58:57Speaker 2: a huge fandom culture here in Colorado and across America
- 59:01Speaker 2: and across the world. We're essentially talking geography.
- 59:04Speaker 1: Oh heck, yes, we haven't recorded it yet, so I'm
- 59:07Speaker 1: excited to find out how much I do and do
- 59:10Speaker 1: not know about the world I live in.
- 59:13Speaker 2: We'll find out. All that is left to do this
- 59:15Speaker 2: time is to thank our amazing executive producers, those of
- 59:19Speaker 2: you who support us for eleven bucks a month at
- 59:21Speaker 2: the games Master Tea over at patreon dot com. Forward
- 59:25Speaker 2: slash Gate Leapers and since this was our Lord of
- 59:28Speaker 2: the Rings cast themed episode, I saw a lot of
- 59:32Speaker 2: our games Masters in the VIP section at Fanexpo this year,
- 59:37Speaker 2: and I think I saw Ash and Adam braiding Orland
- 59:41Speaker 2: or Bloom's long long hair. He brought back the blonde
- 59:45Speaker 2: legless locks just for Fan Expo, and I saw Ash
- 59:48Speaker 2: and Adam working as a team giving it a little braid.
- 59:51Speaker 1: I saw Justin Dodberg over there making sure all the
- 59:56Speaker 1: chairs were set up for all the hobbits at the
- 59:58Speaker 1: main their main panel that they were doing.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: Are they smaller jazz?
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: They are they? You'd think that they're smaller chairs, But
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: it's just the perspective. That's just this level of skill
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: that Justin Dodberg brings to the stage.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: So clever. That's so clever. And a couple of wizards
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: who are atop their two towers, one each, Derek and Taylor,
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: our very own Sarah Man and I guess sarn is
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: the director. No, I can't do that. There's Sarah Man
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: and Gandalf when they were good. I'll let them decide
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: who's who. And we've got our very own Tom Bombadil.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: I love how it wasn't even in the movie. No
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: one in the movie.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: It's fine, though, so special to me. We've got Aaron
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Randolph more power than he knows.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: Aaron Randolph really is the Tom Bombadilla of the Pandemonium universe.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: Uh huh, more powerful than all of us. Yeah, I'm
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: sure has a wonderful and lovely home that you would
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: welcome us into if we were stuck in a four.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. Yellow boots. Yellow boots, we assume. And
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: thank you to Kristin Foley, who I saw outside the
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: fan Expo, following a trail that Vigo Mortensen was also following.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: He was sensing the ground and Kristin Foley was honestly
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: helping him. He needed the help.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: Uh huh, he wouldn't get anywhere.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: He's kind of pasted it. Not really, I don't know.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: I don't know, sorry, Vega.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: I don't know his tracking abilities, but I do know Kristen's.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: I saw Troy Davidson. He was running a little late
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: to the fan expo. I saw him just charging down
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: the street on a.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: Horse, an unnamed horse, an unnamed horse.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: That horse is its own being, and that horse is
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: going to pick its own name, okay, And it just
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: hasn't told Troy its name yet, and Troy respects that.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: But he's a rider of Rohan, that he is. Oh,
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: you've already used the hobbit one for our group of four.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: I've got no one for a gone. It's horrible, but
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: it was the first thing that come to my mind.
- 1:02:05Speaker 11: Do it.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: I saw team up. We got Johnny, Steph, Ethan and Ben.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: I saw them at the Fan Expo as well. They're
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: the Fellowship to my ring.
