- 0:22SPEAKER_00: In the previous weekday episodes, we've talked about activities that'll help you maintain a growth mindset as a writer.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: We began with preparing the soil of your mind, which in practical terms means getting around other people who can encourage and motivate you.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Then we moved on to planting, which is keeping track of your ideas.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: After that, we discussed how to water those ideas through reading.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: And then we moved on to pruning, which is eliminating the dead weight from your schedule and life, so you can focus your energy on growth-producing activities.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: Now in today's episode, we come to harvesting, which is simply creating the words.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: The three previous actions, if you do them consistently, make it a whole lot easier to write.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: You've probably noticed in your own life that it's much harder to write if you don't have ideas, if you're not exploring curiosity through reading and you're too busy to write.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Harvesting as a concept could not be any simpler.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: You simply go to the field, get the crop, and bring it into the barn for processing.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: In writing terms, this means that you have to sit down and actually produce the words.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: If there's one universal truth in writing, it is this.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: The words won't write themselves.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: I know that sounds crazy and it sounds so obvious that it shouldn't even probably be said, but it's really true.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: What this means is that you have to set aside time each day to write.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: It's that simple, but it's also that difficult.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: I think that a growing writer is an intentional writer.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: When you plant the seeds, when you water them with reading, when you prune unnecessary activities from your life, and when you harvest your words, you have joined an illustrious club known as Writers Who Get Things Done.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: What's the price of admission to the club?
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: It is simply nurturing a growth mindset and doing what is needed to produce the crop.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Hey, before I wrap up here, I want to let you know that today's episode is brought to you by the Daily Writer Club.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: You've heard me talk about the club before, so you know it's a place where people are finding success.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: It's a place where people are growing their writing businesses.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: It's a place where we're encouraging people and giving them the tools and resources to publish their books and to make progress on the projects that are important to them as writers.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: So you may have heard me talk about this, but my question to you is have you joined us yet?
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Or are you trying to fly solo?
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Well, if you're tired of trying to do this writing thing on your own, I would suggest to you that the Daily Rider Club is the absolute perfect place for you to find the encouragement and support that you need.
