- 0:00Speaker 1: Wyatt FM, hope you had a great, safe weekend.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Hopefully you're inside most of the weekend, but some people
- 0:05Speaker 2: were out and about.
- 0:06Speaker 1: They had to do things. We were avoiding murder at
- 0:09Speaker 1: our house all weekend long.
- 0:11Speaker 3: That sounds intense.
- 0:12Speaker 2: The Bryant family avoiding murder. You know, my wife is
- 0:16Speaker 2: really good at finding things on Facebook Marketplace.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 0:20Speaker 2: She'll find something that is a great price. Either Miles
- 0:25Speaker 2: wants it, like it could be, for example, a great
- 0:27Speaker 2: Cars costume. You know the movie Cars?
- 0:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Miles wants to be McQueen. And she found a great
- 0:33Speaker 2: costume on Marketplace for like five bucks.
- 0:35Speaker 3: That's great.
- 0:36Speaker 2: And there's a really hot item that kids want these
- 0:38Speaker 2: days called Neato's.
- 0:40Speaker 1: They're like squishies.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It's so simple, but they're hot. And so we found
- 0:45Speaker 2: some Neato's. So basically, we spent Saturday and a little
- 0:49Speaker 2: bit of Sunday. Coco, my wife, would say, all right,
- 0:52Speaker 2: put this address in your GPS. We're going here. And
- 0:55Speaker 2: we had amazing pickups.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Whoa.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Everything was fine. The one pickup that didn't follow through
- 1:02Speaker 2: was kind of shady.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Uh-oh.
- 1:03Speaker 2: The person already had a 2.6 ranking, Christine. That wasn't
- 1:07Speaker 2: a good sign.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Out of five?
- 1:09Speaker 1: I think five. My wife is on it more, but
- 1:11Speaker 1: I think... Is it five, Kristen, on the Facebook marketplace?
- 1:14Speaker 1: Is that your highest rating? We'll go with five. 2.6,
- 1:17Speaker 1: I think, was our rating.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Doesn't sound great.
- 1:19Speaker 2: And a lot of the comments underneath this woman was
- 1:21Speaker 2: flaky and didn't get what I asked for and blah, blah, blah.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yipes. So we.
- 1:28Speaker 2: We're communicating with this woman. I forgot what the item was,
- 1:31Speaker 2: but it was something for the kids. And she said, okay,
- 1:34Speaker 2: between 12 and 1, you can pick it up. And
- 1:37Speaker 2: so we're on the way. It's 12.05. And the woman says,
- 1:42Speaker 2: do you need my address?
- 1:43Speaker 1: We're like, of course. We're close. So she gave us
- 1:46Speaker 1: the address. Right there, that's a bold move. She's showing
- 1:50Speaker 1: that she trusts us.
- 1:52Speaker 3: You're not meeting in a parking lot.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Right. We're going to her apartment complex, apparently. Okay. And
- 1:57Speaker 1: we're on the way. We're five minutes away.
- 1:59Speaker 2: And then this woman sends my wife a message saying, hey,
- 2:03Speaker 2: can I get your phone number? And my wife was like,
- 2:07Speaker 2: I don't mind, but why do you need my phone number?
- 2:09Speaker 2: And she said, well, I want to message you. And
- 2:12Speaker 2: then my wife says, but we're messaging now here on
- 2:15Speaker 2: Facebook Messenger. She thought that was kind of weird. And
- 2:19Speaker 2: like 10 minutes went by and we're getting closer to
- 2:22Speaker 2: the house. And all of a sudden we get a
- 2:24Speaker 2: Facebook message. And the woman says to my wife, Can't
- 2:28Speaker 2: find what you need.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Sorry.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Oh. Oh.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And then my wife goes, okay, cool. Whoa. She was
- 2:35Speaker 1: going to go, but why? Yeah, yeah. Okay, we'll find
- 2:38Speaker 1: another item.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Wow. But it was very weird how we were that close.
- 2:42Speaker 1: She gave us the address.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. Everything was moving along nicely. And just because my
- 2:48Speaker 2: wife wouldn't give her her phone number.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Phone number.
- 2:51Speaker 1: They were messaging fine on Facebook Messenger.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:54Speaker 1: And then boom. And then we were like, well, maybe
- 2:56Speaker 1: that's why she had a 2.6 rating.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Flaky.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Flaky.
- 3:00Speaker 3: It always feels a little risky, doesn't it? It feels
- 3:02Speaker 3: a little like.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Just a tad bit dangerous. You get butterflies. Yeah. And
- 3:07Speaker 1: I had a transaction happen last week in a parking lot. Yeah.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I did it. Remember I talked about that?
- 3:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I did a pickup for my wife in Perth Amboy
- 3:15Speaker 2: at a Taco Bell parking lot. And I was a
- 3:18Speaker 2: little nervous because the person was coming.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Right. You know what?
- 3:21Speaker 2: They pulled up. They were super cool. The guy had
- 3:23Speaker 2: his work ID on around his neck. He was just
- 3:27Speaker 2: making some money and we're getting our stuff.
- 3:29Speaker 3: You guys have to trust each other. I told you
- 3:30Speaker 3: my friend Ann Sayre took Eric one time for one
- 3:33Speaker 3: of these excursions, right? She had something on Facebook Marketplace
- 3:37Speaker 3: that was close to where we live as opposed to
- 3:40Speaker 3: where she lives.
- 3:40Speaker 1: So Eric was like the safety man?
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. She didn't want to go alone, which I
- 3:44Speaker 3: don't blame her because she's going to somebody's house.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 3:47Speaker 3: But it turned out like when she got to the house,
- 3:49Speaker 3: it was just like one elderly lady. It was like
- 3:52Speaker 3: it was fine.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Usually, you know, 99 percent of the time it's fine.
- 3:55Speaker 1: It was OK.
- 3:56Speaker 3: But Eric was there as a backup, as a buffer,
- 3:59Speaker 3: just in case.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I'm curious.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Look, if you could hit us up on text at 44363.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Any strange Facebook marketplace or it's not just Facebook marketplace.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I mean, you can do anything really online.
- 4:09Speaker 3: I mean, I tried to do furniture on there and
- 4:12Speaker 3: people flaked out every single time.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Oh, you told me you're looking for a dresser.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Now we're looking for a dresser, yes. If you guys
- 4:18Speaker 3: see a nice dresser for Eric, that would be great.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Are you going to pick it up? We'll pick it up.
- 4:22Speaker 1: All right.
- 4:25Speaker 3: But selling it, I found, was a little tough.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Yeah, like I was trying to sell furniture, and that
- 4:31Speaker 3: involves somebody's got to pick it up because it's a
- 4:33Speaker 3: big piece.
- 4:34Speaker 1: And they want to come inside and see it before. Yeah. Usually,
- 4:38Speaker 1: if you can get it done outside, it's the best.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I know, it's better. All right, we want to hear
- 4:41Speaker 1: from you on text. It's Light FM, coming right back.
