Transcript
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Daily Rider, where we share a lesson each day to help you cultivate the habits for creative success.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Have you ever noticed that some people have an opinion about literally everything?
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: It's not hard to find these people.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: They're all over social media and probably also within your workplace, social circle, or even your family.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: While it's easy to point out how others are opinionated, it's important to look at ourselves as well.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: How about you?
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Do you have an opinion about everything?
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Well, here's a tactic to keep you curious.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Take a topic that you currently care about and ask yourself, what if I had no opinion on this topic?
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: What if I could listen without judgment to all sides of this issue?
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: What if I took a learning stance instead of an opinionated stance?
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: When you look at life from this perspective, it helps keep you humble and curious.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: And honestly, it's refreshing because having an opinion about everything every day is pretty exhausting.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: The best writers are the ones who ask good questions and explore topics and situations from different angles.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: After all, who wants to learn from an author who seems to have everything in life already figured out?
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Here's your daily question.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Are you willing to set aside your opinions about an issue that is important to you for one week and instead take a more curious stand where you can listen and learn?
