- 1:29Speaker 5: go to the movies to see anything, but I definitely
- 1:31Speaker 5: want to go to the movies to see that.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I was trying.
- 1:37Speaker 6: Story.
- 1:38Speaker 7: Huh.
- 1:38Speaker 6: I heard it is going to make you cry, but yeah,
- 1:40Speaker 6: I love a good love story.
- 1:42Speaker 5: So how close is it to the original.
- 1:43Speaker 6: It's the same thing, but black.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Yes, you boyfriend's white, right, yeah.
- 1:49Speaker 8: But it's it's more they have more mixed race in it.
- 1:51Speaker 8: So the boyfriend is white, but his mom is black. Okay, yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 8: I mean it could.
- 1:57Speaker 6: I mean, you know how Disney characters be.
- 1:59Speaker 8: You know, back when Mac when Brandy was Cinderella, they
- 2:02Speaker 8: had Asian Uh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:05Speaker 4: I love interests something really demonstrate that color and it's just.
- 2:09Speaker 8: Multiple versions of and then Ariel her sisters were different race,
- 2:14Speaker 8: so one was Asian, one was white.
- 2:16Speaker 5: One were they just mixing it all up.
- 2:18Speaker 9: I like that because all those little kids that are
- 2:20Speaker 9: going to see that, you know, they're different races. And
- 2:23Speaker 9: you know, I've seen like a lot of black kids
- 2:27Speaker 9: at Disney, and you know that's always dope to see
- 2:30Speaker 9: because you know, Hollywood don't think we could do those numbers.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Representation matters, And I love how like her entire cast.
- 2:36Speaker 4: The directors love her like. There was a video of
- 2:39Speaker 4: them gushing over her, like just treating her like a
- 2:42Speaker 4: queen that she is. I love it all around.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Did you guys see that or hear that? Netflix is
- 2:47Speaker 2: cracking down on the password sharing by charging eight dollars
- 2:51Speaker 2: to add another user to your account. I don't care.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I got my cousin password. He got to deal with that.
- 2:57Speaker 5: They're gonna charge your cousin eight.
- 2:59Speaker 2: He's gonna cut you off.
- 3:00Speaker 5: I'm a cousin. I'm the one that everybody got my passwords.
- 3:02Speaker 5: I'm gonna change my ship.
- 3:05Speaker 2: With the money you always got with the money got
- 3:07Speaker 2: to pay everybody dollars. Think about it.
- 3:11Speaker 9: If you this, If that's ten people, that's that's why
- 3:14Speaker 9: the cousin, who's ball and hundred dollars they got?
- 3:18Speaker 4: Oh wait, it's per additional person.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Yes, eight user. I'm cutting everybody.
- 3:25Speaker 5: I'm changing my password.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Oh my eight dollars is cool, but I'm on one.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Eight dollars is all right, But damn, I'm cutting off.
- 3:34Speaker 2: That's eighty dollars of money.
- 3:35Speaker 6: They want their money.
- 3:37Speaker 2: You make sure you're paying. To make sure you're paying
- 3:38Speaker 2: a Netflix that's like a regular cable bill.
- 3:41Speaker 4: Damn, there might as well be my homegirl, got me
- 3:43Speaker 4: her mama, hub nephew, sister.
- 3:46Speaker 9: All these folks says, that's eighty dollars a money Netflix
- 3:48Speaker 9: tired of y'all.
- 3:49Speaker 2: That's what's going on there.
- 3:50Speaker 5: There, Me girl, take care of me, don't do Are
- 3:54Speaker 5: they charging eight dollars? But they also went up.
- 3:56Speaker 9: Yeah, the Flix is yeah when I but they are
- 4:00Speaker 9: giving us good content. Don't knock, not just they come out.
- 4:05Speaker 9: They come out of my Disney Plus. So whoever I
- 4:09Speaker 9: was sharing that, whoever, that's what I have of that.
- 4:12Speaker 9: I don't have Disney Plus no more. And I don't
- 4:14Speaker 9: have Hulu anymore.
- 4:15Speaker 6: Damn having a lot of good black shows on there.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Hulu has Franklin, the Franklin Guy.
- 4:23Speaker 6: What's my show he's talking about?
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 4:26Speaker 5: Damning with Netflix.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Y'all, y'all gotta come out with some old movies. Damn man,
- 4:30Speaker 2: I'll be saying one movie to come out once every
- 4:33Speaker 2: whole weeks.
- 4:34Speaker 6: They need to come out with it more frequently.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Well, what's going on that's frequent right now? DJ Drama
- 4:38Speaker 2: versus Meek Mill. Did you guys see that over Memorial Day?
- 4:42Speaker 5: The Philly Bulls.
- 4:45Speaker 6: Bullet.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I said, what did you see?
- 4:49Speaker 6: What happened? What happened?
- 4:50Speaker 5: I kind of saw, but it was something about it
- 4:54Speaker 5: was a tweet.
- 4:54Speaker 2: First, Meek Mill did a tweet. Well, yeah, he didn't like.
- 4:57Speaker 2: He didn't like me what Drama said, Yeah, yeah, he
- 4:59Speaker 2: didn't like. What Drama saying about Drake is like the
- 5:02Speaker 2: jay Z's generation.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Of this generation.
- 5:05Speaker 2: This generation, Yeah, beefing over a female.
- 5:16Speaker 5: It's not in my group chat. But listen, my ear
- 5:18Speaker 5: is going to be to the streets when I hit
- 5:20Speaker 5: Philly on Thursday, so I might be able to get
- 5:21Speaker 5: a little intel and get back to y'all on that one.
- 5:23Speaker 5: But as far as Drake being the jay Z of
- 5:26Speaker 5: this generation, when I think of jay Z, I think
- 5:29Speaker 5: from the from the streets city stage and Drake, we
- 5:33Speaker 5: love you Rby, but you've never been in the streets.
- 5:35Speaker 5: So I don't think that qualifies him in that way. Now, rap,
- 5:38Speaker 5: you know, numbers wise and then platinum selling and you
- 5:42Speaker 5: know all of that. Yeah, but jay Z's story is
- 5:45Speaker 5: that he was sluinging rocks.
- 5:47Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying.
- 5:48Speaker 5: He had them things in the trunk. Drake, No, but
- 5:51Speaker 5: me was in the streets and Meek was in the streets.
- 5:53Speaker 4: I respect that.
- 5:54Speaker 5: I think what I was thinking, I don't know about
- 5:55Speaker 5: having them things in the trunk, but he from even
- 5:57Speaker 5: Burks and that's that's that's the trenches.
- 6:01Speaker 4: The way I just about it was who was a
- 6:04Speaker 4: bigger artist like globally Like Drake is obviously that man globally,
- 6:09Speaker 4: But if we're talking about the streets, I feel you.
- 6:12Speaker 4: But I think he was just talking about who's.
- 6:13Speaker 5: A bigger artist artist well aspect And I feel like.
- 6:16Speaker 2: The J Drama was entitled to his opinion. One type
- 6:19Speaker 2: of J Hill it was on his podcast was my
- 6:21Speaker 2: guy friend of the show, and he said he grew
- 6:23Speaker 2: up to me. So I feel like everyone's just to
- 6:26Speaker 2: have their own opinion. I do think something's something else
- 6:29Speaker 2: going on.
- 6:31Speaker 5: Get mad at that.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Can't get mad at something like that.
- 6:33Speaker 5: It's something to underlying know about.
- 6:36Speaker 2: That kind of just triggered it.
- 6:38Speaker 8: He also said Drama also said that Dreams and Nightmares was.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Like, oh yeah, taking shots at me a lot lately.
- 6:51Speaker 8: Drama and said, for really that particular year, do you
- 6:54Speaker 8: think that being a Philly native that dreams and Nightmares
- 6:58Speaker 8: is you know, under I want to rock.
- 7:02Speaker 5: No Dreams and Nightmares is like free ways, what we
- 7:05Speaker 5: do that will that song will never die.
- 7:07Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, I love this.
- 7:08Speaker 5: That song will forever be a Philly anthem. And that
- 7:11Speaker 5: song will forever no matter what city you in, wherever
- 7:15Speaker 5: you at, what type of party it is, you put
- 7:16Speaker 5: that on, everybody's gonna go, oh, you know what I'm saying, Like, it's.
- 7:19Speaker 6: What country, different countries and they play.
- 7:24Speaker 5: I don't see people that I want to rock as
- 7:26Speaker 5: a good song. It's it's the.
- 7:27Speaker 6: Song of the time.
- 7:28Speaker 5: It's actually big, it's huge, But I don't see that
- 7:32Speaker 5: having a longevity that knocking off with. First of all,
- 7:35Speaker 5: no shade, but there isn't any There isn't any lyrics.
- 7:38Speaker 5: It's just a to like there's no songs, there's no verses.
- 7:43Speaker 6: Yeah, so I don't know, but.
- 7:45Speaker 4: I don't think that he was in this situation. I
- 7:48Speaker 4: don't think he was talking about lyrically either. I think
- 7:50Speaker 4: he was just talking about how big of a song
- 7:52Speaker 4: it is, like how big the recurrent?
- 7:54Speaker 5: I guess what Only time will tell, because we'll we
- 7:56Speaker 5: got like fifteen years in with dreams of Nightmares.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it might not. It might not be
- 8:01Speaker 4: one of those songs that is everlasting, timeless like it
- 8:04Speaker 4: might not be that, but for right now, in this moment,
- 8:06Speaker 4: you really can't go nowhere without hearing that song.
- 8:08Speaker 5: Very true.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I mean, people still playing Dreams and Nightmares. That that's
- 8:12Speaker 2: the only reason that I feel like me, I don't
- 8:14Speaker 2: feel like like Jams and Nightmares has paid its dues.
- 8:18Speaker 5: It's dreams and me trying to retire it himself about
- 8:21Speaker 5: five years ago, and it still ain't going nowhere, right.
- 8:26Speaker 2: We do.
- 8:26Speaker 6: Like you said with the Free Freeway, that song is
- 8:30Speaker 6: just that's that's really when I hear it.
- 8:32Speaker 5: Absolutely well.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I hope they can squash this, uh, this little argument.
- 8:38Speaker 2: I don't think they're gonna be friends. I'm gonna be
- 8:40Speaker 2: real well, they're not friends. Thought speak about the Tiny
- 8:45Speaker 2: Desk performance and yeah I'm on red and yeah you
- 8:50Speaker 2: saw that, Yeah I saw that on Twitter. That's that's
- 8:53Speaker 2: a little extra. Okay, all right, Danny Lay arrested for
- 8:57Speaker 2: d Y and Miami. Did you guys see that? I
- 9:00Speaker 2: saw that?
- 9:01Speaker 6: But not only that, it's alleged that she was fleeing a.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Crash. It was a hit and run.
- 9:08Speaker 4: I heard it was no attempt. The girl fled. She
- 9:11Speaker 4: tried to go as far away as she could and
- 9:13Speaker 4: drop dragging them open. Yeah, she dragged them open for
- 9:15Speaker 4: a block.
- 9:16Speaker 6: So she hit.
- 9:16Speaker 4: They said that she was swerving in out of lanes.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Finally hit someone that was on the mo open, dragged
- 9:21Speaker 4: him for a block.
- 9:22Speaker 5: Man.
- 9:23Speaker 4: And supposedly this person has is dealing with like final issues.
- 9:27Speaker 4: Now she better.
- 9:30Speaker 5: Better be glad he ain't because he could have or paralyzed.
- 9:35Speaker 6: She had to cut that check.
- 9:37Speaker 2: And she's gonna do. She gonna do some time. Yeah,
- 9:39Speaker 2: she's gonna be going to court for a long time
- 9:41Speaker 2: for that's at least.
- 9:42Speaker 6: What she said.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Like three years So, y'all was outside cutting up in
- 9:46Speaker 4: Miami Memorial Day weekend, trying to drive drunk. Ride shares are.
- 9:50Speaker 6: Too cheap, Miami. They was just celebrating, right, yeah.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Miami. He is going to the finals and
- 9:57Speaker 2: trying to get these tickets, these tickets out of control them.
- 9:59Speaker 4: You called it, you said the they would be a
- 10:00Speaker 4: little nervous right now because we're playing Denver and I
- 10:03Speaker 4: don't think we're gonna beat them, but you know we're here.
- 10:06Speaker 2: I'm trying trump basic get tickets. You know, right, you
- 10:14Speaker 2: got season tickets over there. I know you got a
- 10:16Speaker 2: little something something.
- 10:17Speaker 4: This is the first time you talked with some doubts.
- 10:20Speaker 6: In regards sports.
- 10:24Speaker 2: So we gotta, we gotta, we gotta steep mountain. The clown,
- 10:28Speaker 2: not the.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Stuttering and scratch on the back of your head.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Swept watch wow, bring come on? What's next? O?
- 10:40Speaker 5: God?
- 10:40Speaker 6: All right? We got love versus money?
- 10:43Speaker 3: And is here it's love versus money on the ball
- 10:47Speaker 3: or alert show yay?
- 10:50Speaker 8: So love versus money is I'm gonna give a couple
- 10:52Speaker 8: and then you let me know if they're there for
- 10:54Speaker 8: the money or if it's love.
- 10:56Speaker 6: So today we have Tim and Bria, and.
- 11:01Speaker 2: You know this story.
- 11:03Speaker 5: I'm familiar with this story. There was a side baby
- 11:06Speaker 5: and the woman who had his baby is claiming that
- 11:10Speaker 5: they were really in a real relationship and that his
- 11:12Speaker 5: wife is only there for the book. And they were
- 11:15Speaker 5: going back and forth on Instagram comparing notes and posting,
- 11:18Speaker 5: and this is the woman who had his baby. Is
- 11:20Speaker 5: she really came with a whole lot of receipts, like
- 11:22Speaker 5: they in selfies together and he rubbing the belly and
- 11:24Speaker 5: it's like, you know, they got these together. I mean,
- 11:28Speaker 5: they had a baby, so okay.
- 11:31Speaker 4: But if the woman who had the baby is saying
- 11:33Speaker 4: that the wife is only there, it is only there
- 11:35Speaker 4: for the look that what is he the marriage for?
- 11:38Speaker 4: You can't just put it all on the wife, saying
- 11:40Speaker 4: you're just doing You're just staying with him because it's
- 11:43Speaker 4: a good look for you.
- 11:43Speaker 5: Why is he still think what she meant was that
- 11:46Speaker 5: him having a wife was a better look for him professionally.
- 11:51Speaker 5: The yeah, well now you got a side baby. Listen,
- 11:54Speaker 5: I'm a side baby.
- 11:55Speaker 4: I mean the thing about it is if he got
- 11:57Speaker 4: married because it was a good look, like clearly he
- 12:00Speaker 4: wasn't worried about sustaining that good look, like he went
- 12:03Speaker 4: decided to.
- 12:05Speaker 5: And now he got a good little baby, so you
- 12:08Speaker 5: wasn't doing too much hot and know what she was
- 12:10Speaker 5: doing for the money? Is the wife there for the
- 12:13Speaker 5: lover for the money? I think she might be there
- 12:15Speaker 5: for the money, because why are you staying around if
- 12:19Speaker 5: he clearly has this whole other relationship that I feel
- 12:23Speaker 5: like she knew about.
- 12:24Speaker 6: Oh wow, oh.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Money.
- 12:31Speaker 9: Well, if he's paying, she's staying. So I'm gonna say
- 12:36Speaker 9: she there for the money. It's all about the.
- 12:38Speaker 6: Money, And I kind of feel like it's cheaper the
- 12:40Speaker 6: keep her.
- 12:42Speaker 2: I don't think she loved this man.
- 12:44Speaker 5: She probably did.
- 12:44Speaker 2: She's trying to look past.
- 12:46Speaker 5: The they have children together, because that's a factor as well.
- 12:49Speaker 6: The wife.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Do I think she's there because she really loves this guy?
- 12:55Speaker 5: What?
- 12:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it could be true. It could be I feel
- 12:58Speaker 2: like it could be true that she really he loves
- 13:01Speaker 2: him and she's willing to look past.
- 13:03Speaker 4: She doesn't always end a relationship, and sometimes having a
- 13:06Speaker 4: side baby does not always end a relationship.
- 13:08Speaker 9: So alerts man, that's that's true. But you're right, she
- 13:12Speaker 9: would keep it and he got a bad.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Okay, Uh, let's take a quick commercial. That is in
- 13:18Speaker 2: the building. We're gonna get in her business and hopefully
- 13:21Speaker 2: she gives us, you know, some tails or two.
- 13:25Speaker 3: I want that tea hot, honey. We will be right
- 13:27Speaker 3: back with more of The Baller Alert Show. You're listening

- 14:07Speaker 3: I mean.
- 14:11Speaker 5: That's the premise of the show.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I feel like y'all started. Y'all started the sex talk,
- 14:15Speaker 2: I think so.
- 14:16Speaker 5: I mean we eight years in.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Yeah, you guys, one of the first podcasts that I
- 14:19Speaker 2: see that I saw on that type of Yeah, that
- 14:23Speaker 2: type of time. Now, how did it start?
- 14:25Speaker 6: Wait?
- 14:25Speaker 8: Wait, before we get there, we got our hall. We
- 14:27Speaker 8: gotta go to Philly first. We gotta know a little bit,
- 14:30Speaker 8: a bit more about Gigi first, can you tell us
- 14:34Speaker 8: the journey from Philly to Atlanta.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:36Speaker 5: So, in a nutshell, I was a teenage mom. I
- 14:41Speaker 5: had a baby at the age of seventeen. Five months later.
- 14:45Speaker 5: I this is something I'm not proud of, but it's
- 14:48Speaker 5: part of my truth. I beat my mom with the
- 14:50Speaker 5: ironing board and she kicked me out, and I ended
- 14:52Speaker 5: up in my my fake brother's drug house, not like
- 14:58Speaker 5: the crack house where they selling the drugs, but where
- 15:00Speaker 5: they manufactured the drugs and kept the money. I ended
- 15:02Speaker 5: up living there with my five month old baby. From there,
- 15:06Speaker 5: her daughters, her father died five days after her second birthday.
- 15:10Speaker 5: I ended up becoming a drug mule. I went to Jamaica.
- 15:13Speaker 5: There was only one trip, but I went to Jamaica
- 15:16Speaker 5: and I swallowed ninety grams of heroin and I came
- 15:18Speaker 5: back with twelve and a half pounds in the suitcase weed.
- 15:21Speaker 5: I got caught with the weed. I got arrested in
- 15:23Speaker 5: JFK Airport. I was processed through Rockers Island. My bill
- 15:27Speaker 5: was paid. I was sent to some projects in Harlem.
- 15:31Speaker 5: And the lady, she was a Jamaica lady, and she
- 15:34Speaker 5: gave me and that I'll never forget this lady. She
- 15:36Speaker 5: gave me a plate of food, a blunt and some
- 15:39Speaker 5: weird tea concoction, and she said, smoke, eat drink, and
- 15:42Speaker 5: when your stomach started bubbling, come wake me up. So
- 15:45Speaker 5: I lay on her college with a blanket and about
- 15:48Speaker 5: I don't know, sometime in the middle of ninth the
- 15:49Speaker 5: stomach started bubbling and she I woke her up, and
- 15:52Speaker 5: she gave me a zip black bag, a bucket and
- 15:55Speaker 5: some gloves and she said, as they come out, rinse
- 15:57Speaker 5: them off and put them in the bag. And it
- 16:00Speaker 5: took me all night long. The sun was up by
- 16:02Speaker 5: the time I was done, and two of them were craped.
- 16:04Speaker 5: So it was only a matter of time. If one
- 16:06Speaker 5: of them would have broken, I would have died. Fast
- 16:08Speaker 5: forward to I got that money, and I thought that
- 16:10Speaker 5: money would change my life.
- 16:11Speaker 2: And how much was it?
- 16:13Speaker 5: Five thousand dollars? But I was nineteen, This was in nineteen.
- 16:18Speaker 5: It was in two thousand, and I thought that it
- 16:20Speaker 5: would change my life. It didn't. So I ended up
- 16:23Speaker 5: moving into my godsister's unfinished, mildew musty basement.
- 16:28Speaker 6: And how was your baby at this time?
- 16:32Speaker 5: She's now three, okay, and she does hair and she
- 16:37Speaker 5: has these clients that work at this prestigious gentleman's club
- 16:40Speaker 5: in Philadelphia called Delilah's, which is like Cheetah here, and
- 16:44Speaker 5: she's telling me, like, you should dance. Now, I have
- 16:45Speaker 5: a dance background since the age of four. I've been
- 16:48Speaker 5: on stage, taped, ballet, that whole thing. I went to
- 16:50Speaker 5: a performing arts high school in Philadelphia and thought that
- 16:54Speaker 5: I did so. I always thought that I would be
- 16:57Speaker 5: like somebody's background dancer on tour with Jennie, you know,
- 17:01Speaker 5: at the Grammy's, at the performance and you know, this
- 17:03Speaker 5: was always the life that I had projected for myself.
- 17:05Speaker 5: I did end up on stage and make a lot
- 17:06Speaker 5: of money, but it just wasn't no stages. But anyway,
- 17:09Speaker 5: so she's like, you should dance and I'm like, no,
- 17:12Speaker 5: I shouldn't because at the time, I'm very ignorant to
- 17:15Speaker 5: the different levels of clubs. I think that every club
- 17:18Speaker 5: is like a truck stop club or a hood rat
- 17:20Speaker 5: club where these girls are stuck in dick for forty
- 17:21Speaker 5: dollars on the corner or fucking themselves on stage with
- 17:23Speaker 5: corona bottles, and I'm just like, I can't do that.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:27Speaker 5: Fast forward to I met a ball player who played
- 17:30Speaker 5: for the Sixers at the time, and I remember it
- 17:33Speaker 5: played back in my head while we were at dinner.
- 17:34Speaker 5: Excuse me that my sister was telling me about this
- 17:36Speaker 5: club and she said that it is frequent hit by athletes.
- 17:40Speaker 5: So I asked him about the club and he's like,
- 17:42Speaker 5: but you know about it, and I'm like, somebody told
- 17:45Speaker 5: me I should work there. He said you would do that,
- 17:46Speaker 5: and I'm like, I never. Then, I don't know where'd
- 17:49Speaker 5: you meet the ball player at with a So I
- 17:52Speaker 5: used to hang out with this girl. So I used
- 17:53Speaker 5: to date this Jamaican drug dealer, like real big drug
- 17:56Speaker 5: dealer in Philly, and his sister like play sister. I
- 17:59Speaker 5: used to hang out with her, so she was like
- 18:00Speaker 5: a little older than me and kind of like took
- 18:02Speaker 5: me under her wing. And I used to think she
- 18:03Speaker 5: was so fly like she always had like the latest
- 18:06Speaker 5: and the greatest, and she's body was banging. She drove
- 18:09Speaker 5: a e class bend, and I just always kind of
- 18:10Speaker 5: looked up to her. So she kind of like took
- 18:12Speaker 5: me under her wing. And we was out hanging out
- 18:14Speaker 5: one day and she introduced me to the ballplayer guy. Okay,
- 18:17Speaker 5: so we go to the club after dinner and I'm
- 18:21Speaker 5: y'all his the floor.
- 18:23Speaker 6: Was the Jamaican girl working in the club.
- 18:25Speaker 5: No, oh, okay, So me and a ballplayer after dinner,
- 18:28Speaker 5: we go to this club and I'm floored by what
- 18:31Speaker 5: I see. So there's this one girl who's on stage
- 18:33Speaker 5: and she's given like this great performance like poll tricks.
- 18:36Speaker 5: And me having a technical dance background, I can tell
- 18:39Speaker 5: that she has one as well, because she really knew
- 18:41Speaker 5: what she was doing.
- 18:42Speaker 4: You had a real appreciation for it.
- 18:43Speaker 5: Absolutely. So he sees how I'm myraing this girl on
- 18:46Speaker 5: stage and he gives me money. I go to the
- 18:48Speaker 5: stage to tip her, and it's my little cousin she
- 18:52Speaker 5: had just turned eighteen two weeks ago. She had been
- 18:54Speaker 5: working there since her eighteenth birthday, and we like, what's
- 18:56Speaker 5: your one and and I'm like, I need a job.
- 18:58Speaker 5: So that's how I started dancing. She put you on,
- 19:00Speaker 5: she did, yeah, shout out the brandy. Her name was
- 19:03Speaker 5: kat At Delilahs. And she was the one who told me,
- 19:06Speaker 5: like showed me the ropes. Like something about the strip
- 19:09Speaker 5: club that most people don't know that there's no training,
- 19:11Speaker 5: there's no manual. It's it's it's trial and era. You know,
- 19:15Speaker 5: you live, you learn by doing.
- 19:17Speaker 2: So that's why we go to the strip club and
- 19:19Speaker 2: you see some girls, you're like, man, she can't down here.
- 19:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:22Speaker 2: So okay, I've worked at strip clubs for a while
- 19:25Speaker 2: as a host in DJ. So usually the beginners are
- 19:29Speaker 2: earlier on right and then the main girls to come
- 19:31Speaker 2: prime time.
- 19:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I worked day shift. They may be work day
- 19:33Speaker 5: shift for thirty days. I was able to start working
- 19:37Speaker 5: nights probably maybe three days prior to my thirty days,
- 19:40Speaker 5: but I worked day shift.
- 19:42Speaker 4: So is there like a like a buddy system, like
- 19:44Speaker 4: a stripper mentor, like someone.
- 19:46Speaker 5: Can take you through your wing? Oh? Absolutely not.
- 19:49Speaker 6: My cousin helped me.
- 19:50Speaker 5: Yeah, and that's why I've always in return given that
- 19:53Speaker 5: back because she like the name and everything.
- 19:57Speaker 6: Line, did she help you with a routine or not
- 19:59Speaker 6: a routine?
- 19:59Speaker 5: I thought I needed a learning routine, but I didn't
- 20:01Speaker 5: need to seed watching watch and then you would get
- 20:04Speaker 5: on stage and try and then working in the daytime,
- 20:06Speaker 5: it's like, really nobody in there, so you can have
- 20:08Speaker 5: all the bloopers and all the practices all of that. Yeah.
- 20:11Speaker 5: So I actually got fired from that club because I
- 20:16Speaker 5: flashed the girl in her face with champagne glass.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Damn.
- 20:20Speaker 5: Rumor says it's a bottle, but it wasn't a bottle.
- 20:22Speaker 2: It was a glass.
- 20:23Speaker 4: Now how did we get to that? What happened?
- 20:26Speaker 5: We were? First of all, the girl never liked me
- 20:28Speaker 5: because allegedly I saw her boyfriend, but I didn't know
- 20:29Speaker 5: he was your boyfriend.
- 20:31Speaker 6: I was going to ask that, how was the bee
- 20:32Speaker 6: for the usually over men?
- 20:34Speaker 5: Or money?
- 20:35Speaker 6: Was the environment of women? How is that in the club?
- 20:39Speaker 5: So everybody's hustling for the same dollar. So even though
- 20:42Speaker 5: this your homegirl and y'all ride or die to the end,
- 20:44Speaker 5: y'all still trying to get the same dollar. And a
- 20:46Speaker 5: girl that don't like you. She's trying to get the
- 20:48Speaker 5: same dollar too, So there's that dynamic. But as far
- 20:51Speaker 5: as this particular girl, I came into the club and
- 20:53Speaker 5: met a guy and we started dating. Allegedly he used
- 20:55Speaker 5: to date her. I had no idea. I ain't been
- 20:57Speaker 5: here before. I don't know you were him. So we
- 20:59Speaker 5: kind of was in the same circle and just didn't
- 21:01Speaker 5: speak to each other. But she didn't like me. So
- 21:03Speaker 5: fast forward to I don't know a year or so later,
- 21:05Speaker 5: and we're arguing over something. I don't even remember what
- 21:08Speaker 5: it was, but she's some type of Latino and she
- 21:13Speaker 5: starts speaking Spanish to me, and I don't know Spanish,
- 21:16Speaker 5: but these hands is international, Okay. I had a glass
- 21:19Speaker 5: in my hand because I was fresh out of the
- 21:20Speaker 5: champagne room, and I didn't drop the glass before I
- 21:23Speaker 5: hit her. I still had this scar. I got hurt,
- 21:25Speaker 5: she got hurt. I got fired.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Are you still okay? So I don't want to jump
- 21:29Speaker 2: cities now? Are we still in Philly?
- 21:32Speaker 5: That was in Philly?
- 21:32Speaker 2: How soon into the story is Magic City was?
- 21:35Speaker 5: So that was in two thousand and one. So I
- 21:37Speaker 5: started in two thousand. That was mid to the March
- 21:40Speaker 5: two thousand and one, I moved on to another club.
- 21:44Speaker 6: Tilly did a year a Delilah's a year in a year.
- 21:46Speaker 5: In three months. Yeah. So I started another club. I
- 21:49Speaker 5: was there for about two years, and then I decided
- 21:51Speaker 5: that I wanted to bartend. So I went to bartending school.
- 21:54Speaker 5: I left the club that I was at. I started bartending.
- 21:57Speaker 5: I met a guy and we kicked it off. He
- 22:00Speaker 5: became my boyfriend, and then he tried to kill me?
- 22:02Speaker 5: What what may he rest in peace?
- 22:05Speaker 3: Oh?
- 22:05Speaker 6: Okay, okay, did you kill him? First?
- 22:08Speaker 5: He had a heart attack while he was having sex.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Oh wow, wait, okay, but.
- 22:12Speaker 6: He was like abusive or something.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Gods, ways, Lord, now, is this what happens after this pill?
- 22:22Speaker 5: Yes, so so it goes back and forth. So I
- 22:27Speaker 5: tried to break up with him. He was he was
- 22:29Speaker 5: abusive before I tried to break That's I used that
- 22:34Speaker 5: to try to get away, and I left and I
- 22:37Speaker 5: came to Atlanta. It just so happened to be the
- 22:39Speaker 5: day of Hurricane Katrina.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Damn.
- 22:41Speaker 5: I came to Atlanta. It's pouring down strential rains. I've
- 22:44Speaker 5: never seen ring like this in my life. I was
- 22:46Speaker 5: coming to stay with a family member to sleep on
- 22:48Speaker 5: the floor. I had my little Dodge Neon filled up
- 22:51Speaker 5: with his but ships I can fit in it, and
- 22:53Speaker 5: I had zero plan. I wanted to bartend again, but
- 22:55Speaker 5: I didn't have a plan. So the girl who I
- 22:58Speaker 5: was with at the time, I came down with a
- 23:00Speaker 5: well at the time, she was a friend and she
- 23:03Speaker 5: had been working at Magic since the All Star weekend
- 23:06Speaker 5: in like two thousand and thirty.
- 23:07Speaker 4: Or two or whatever.
- 23:08Speaker 5: So she was coming back and forth and she kept
- 23:09Speaker 5: trying to tell me, like, you should come to Atlanta.
- 23:11Speaker 5: I'm making so much money. But I was this because
- 23:13Speaker 5: being meth was heavy that time. I was one hundred
- 23:17Speaker 5: and ten pounds soaking with in a cups. So a
- 23:19Speaker 5: lot of like ass very intimidated to come to Atlanta
- 23:23Speaker 5: with her to work. So I left and I came
- 23:27Speaker 5: here and she her best friend was best her best
- 23:32Speaker 5: friend's boyfriend was his best friend. So she told her
- 23:35Speaker 5: best friend where.
- 23:35Speaker 6: We was at.
- 23:36Speaker 5: Oh, her boyfriend told my ex or whoever. At the time,
- 23:40Speaker 5: I was on mag the City stage. I want shit
- 23:42Speaker 5: on myself. I saw that man walk in the door.
- 23:44Speaker 5: I thought I was singing a ghost. So it was
- 23:47Speaker 5: a whole lot of back and forth, and so.
- 23:49Speaker 6: He passed away before you even moved moved back back. No, okay,
- 23:55Speaker 6: so the.
- 23:55Speaker 5: Heart attack actually happened before I left, but he had
- 24:02Speaker 5: forever heart problems the way he actually died, and this
- 24:05Speaker 5: is like, U, this is the real story, because on
- 24:08Speaker 5: lip service we kind of leave it there just for
- 24:09Speaker 5: the cliffhanger. So he really thought that man died in
- 24:12Speaker 5: my vagina. He actually didn't, right, No, so he so
- 24:16Speaker 5: now he has heart problems. He's on heart medication and
- 24:18Speaker 5: blood dinners for the rest of his life. And he
- 24:20Speaker 5: was in the streets, so fast forward to whatever he
- 24:23Speaker 5: had going on. Somebody put him in the trunk and
- 24:26Speaker 5: pulled a gun out on him, and I guess he
- 24:28Speaker 5: knew he was about to die. He had a heart attack,
- 24:30Speaker 5: so they shot him and burned his body. So they
- 24:32Speaker 5: found the body burning in the trunk, and everybody thought
- 24:34Speaker 5: that he died from the gunshots and being burned, but
- 24:37Speaker 5: the autopsy report showed that he had a heart attack.
- 24:40Speaker 5: So his mother actually called me because when he had
- 24:43Speaker 5: a heart attack and he ended up in ICU, I
- 24:45Speaker 5: had to call his mom and tell her Miss Denise
- 24:49Speaker 5: Johnny in the hospital. And then when we got to that,
- 24:51Speaker 5: I had to go pick her up and bring her
- 24:52Speaker 5: to the hospital. And when we got there, he's laying
- 24:54Speaker 5: in the bed with the ivy's in his arm and
- 24:57Speaker 5: the heart monitors and his mom fall. Kroszy looked like
- 25:00Speaker 5: and we walk in the hotel, I mean in the
- 25:02Speaker 5: hospital room, and he goes.
- 25:03Speaker 6: Mom, look what she did to me? It was how
- 25:06Speaker 6: old was he?
- 25:07Speaker 5: He was thirty one. I was twenty five.
- 25:09Speaker 4: So by the time you go from Philly to Atlanta,
- 25:11Speaker 4: had you saved any money from dancing? Martlon? Yeah you weren't,
- 25:16Speaker 4: like did you make money dances?
- 25:18Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 25:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I made money, but I was spending it fast money.
- 25:22Speaker 6: The guy who was abusing was he taking care of
- 25:23Speaker 6: you too?
- 25:24Speaker 5: He was helping?
- 25:25Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, okay. I want to know about Atlanta when
- 25:28Speaker 2: you came down here and.
- 25:30Speaker 8: Now what she had to get you had to get
- 25:32Speaker 8: your body done, no I did, Yeah, yeah, we're going Okay.
- 25:37Speaker 5: So when I came to Atlanta, literally the day of
- 25:41Speaker 5: Hurricane Katrina, I ended up going into Magic City with
- 25:45Speaker 5: my homegirl because she came to work. I came to
- 25:47Speaker 5: figure out my life. She was trying to get some money,
- 25:49Speaker 5: so I go into Magic with her and I have
- 25:51Speaker 5: the same jaw dropping moment that I had when I
- 25:53Speaker 5: walked into Lightless because it wasn't what I mean. I
- 25:55Speaker 5: didn't know what to expect, but it just it's something
- 25:58Speaker 5: I had never saw before. Like y'all know the vibes.
- 26:00Speaker 5: So when you see that for the first time, and
- 26:02Speaker 5: especially in two thousand.
- 26:03Speaker 4: And five, you're like, oh, ship, that's a different time.
- 26:05Speaker 5: Yeah. So I sat in the club for two days
- 26:09Speaker 5: with her while she worked, and then they're having their
- 26:11Speaker 5: amateur Night contest and shout out to DJ Nando, we
- 26:15Speaker 5: love to miss you. Nando was the DJ, and I
- 26:20Speaker 5: was convinced to do the ameragur Night contest even though
- 26:22Speaker 5: I was a nervous fucking wreck. And I told I
- 26:25Speaker 5: went into the DJ booth and I'm like, look, I
- 26:27Speaker 5: can dance my ass off, but I don't know none
- 26:29Speaker 5: of this music, so I don't know what I'm supposed
- 26:31Speaker 5: to do. But what would your advice be? So he
- 26:34Speaker 5: was like, well, what did you dance when you dance?
- 26:36Speaker 5: What did you dance to? And I'm like, Michael Jackson,
- 26:39Speaker 5: Jana Jackson, Tina, Marie Prince.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Whole Lie, I did ask, That's what I say.
- 26:43Speaker 6: It was like, chead, you're right, I get on.
- 26:49Speaker 5: Stage and he played, I want to be starting something, mama.
- 26:55Speaker 5: When I tell y'all, I lost my mind. So Big
- 26:58Speaker 5: Match actually came to me I want to but before
- 27:01Speaker 5: I even won, because they had they had me and
- 27:03Speaker 5: some other girl do kind of like a dance off
- 27:06Speaker 5: at the end, and before I even won, Big Match
- 27:09Speaker 5: came to me and said, who are you? What's your name?
- 27:11Speaker 5: You live here, you work?
- 27:12Speaker 2: You want a job?
- 27:13Speaker 5: You got a job. You need a job because I
- 27:14Speaker 5: need you to do that on my stage every night.
- 27:16Speaker 5: And I'm like, I used to dance, but I haven't
- 27:18Speaker 5: danced in two years and I'm bartend now. He's like,
- 27:22Speaker 5: dancing to you, not after what I just saw. And
- 27:24Speaker 5: I'm like, I'm like, I want to bartend. Can I
- 27:27Speaker 5: have a bartender job? And he's like, no, you want
- 27:29Speaker 5: to dance? He say, think about it, and if you
- 27:31Speaker 5: decide to do it, let them know I hired you.
- 27:34Speaker 5: So I told my homegirl, She's like, bitch, if you
- 27:36Speaker 5: feel better, okay, Well now I'm dancing again. So I'm
- 27:39Speaker 5: back to working daishiat right. So I'm actually working and
- 27:42Speaker 5: made the city from three to three monthy through Saturday.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Because I had that's still good though, because it's Atlanta, right.
- 27:47Speaker 5: Yes, I have nobody here. Me and this girl actually
- 27:51Speaker 5: fell out over her telling the boyfriend where the best
- 27:53Speaker 5: friend where I was at? And she went back to Philly.
- 27:55Speaker 5: And I'm sleeping on the floor at my cousin's apartment
- 27:58Speaker 5: at Fairburn. But sure y'all know how far that is.
- 28:00Speaker 5: And I'm literally I'll have I know nobody here, I
- 28:03Speaker 5: have no friends, I have no nothing. I don't wait
- 28:07Speaker 5: know my way around.
- 28:07Speaker 6: When he when he came back, did he take you
- 28:10Speaker 6: or did did you did he just leave you be?
- 28:11Speaker 5: Or oh he waited out in a parking lot by
- 28:14Speaker 5: my car, and he literally, just by coincidence, I had
- 28:16Speaker 5: on a pair of shoes that he bought me that night.
- 28:19Speaker 5: And when I tell y'all, there was some Christian di
- 28:20Speaker 5: y or mules like just when I tell y'all, ripped
- 28:23Speaker 5: them shoes on my feet while I was handing it
- 28:24Speaker 5: in them look like a cartoon. You know how you
- 28:27Speaker 5: take you don't take the tame woman, right. He did
- 28:29Speaker 5: that to my shoes, so that caused a big fight.
- 28:32Speaker 5: He stole my phone. I followed him to his hotel.
- 28:33Speaker 5: It was like a big thing and then I never
- 28:36Speaker 5: spoke to him again, and then I got the call
- 28:39Speaker 5: from one of my friends back home that they found
- 28:41Speaker 5: his body, and then I called his mom and then literally,
- 28:44Speaker 5: like I don't know, a month or so later, his
- 28:46Speaker 5: mom called me back and told me that it was
- 28:47Speaker 5: a hard attack.
- 28:47Speaker 6: Did you get like a sigh of relief that you're
- 28:49Speaker 6: gonna have to deal with him again or you had
- 28:51Speaker 6: been had that?
- 28:52Speaker 5: I had that from that last encounter. Okay, yeah, now
- 28:59Speaker 5: may he rested piece and I mean mad. You know,
- 29:02Speaker 5: he did hurt me in a lot of different ways,
- 29:05Speaker 5: but hurt people hurt people. So in order to forget,
- 29:09Speaker 5: you must forgive and move on. So that's where I'm
- 29:11Speaker 5: at with that. But anyway, fast forward to now I'm
- 29:14Speaker 5: back in Atlanta, and so the body. Yes, so I'm
- 29:17Speaker 5: working day shift, and I always wanted to get my
- 29:21Speaker 5: breast done, even back when I was working at Delilah's
- 29:24Speaker 5: and cheerleaders, because those I always felt like the girls
- 29:27Speaker 5: with the cities made the more money. Anybody care about asses,
- 29:29Speaker 5: but the girls with the cities up there made the
- 29:31Speaker 5: more money. And you know, I worked in the Gentlemen's club,
- 29:33Speaker 5: the Caucasian establishments, so you know, white man like toodies.
- 29:36Speaker 5: So I actually had a sugar daddy back in two
- 29:40Speaker 5: thousand four, maybe a year before I left.
- 29:45Speaker 2: How did you acquire this sugar daddy?
- 29:47Speaker 7: Oh?
- 29:47Speaker 5: In the club they.
- 29:49Speaker 6: Flooded with sugar daddies.
- 29:50Speaker 7: I bet was this your first sugar daddy, this particular
- 29:54Speaker 7: one though he was probably he was probably probably like
- 29:57Speaker 7: number seven, yeah, maybe talking four year then this is.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Daddy.
- 30:03Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah. So he gave me five thousand dollars cash
- 30:08Speaker 5: to buy some tits and at the time, I didn't
- 30:11Speaker 5: have a car. So I'm like, do I want to
- 30:14Speaker 5: get these cities done and still be taking a cab
- 30:15Speaker 5: to work? Or do I want to take this money
- 30:18Speaker 5: and use it as a down payment with my little
- 30:20Speaker 5: credit and give me your car. So I called them
- 30:22Speaker 5: and I'm like, I'm going to use this money to
- 30:23Speaker 5: get a car.
- 30:24Speaker 6: I'm like, well, I me to your knee on.
- 30:26Speaker 5: That's how I got the knee on. Oh okay, okay, yeah,
- 30:29Speaker 5: that was the car I bought. That was how I
- 30:30Speaker 5: got Yeah. So I called them and I'm like, you know,
- 30:33Speaker 5: I'm going to use this money for a car and
- 30:36Speaker 5: I will eventually get my breast done. So working at
- 30:39Speaker 5: made the City three to three Monday through Thursday, Monday
- 30:41Speaker 5: through Saturday. For six weeks. I saved the thirty bands
- 30:44Speaker 5: by the time I went back to Atlanta. By the
- 30:46Speaker 5: time I went back to Philly, it was my daughter's
- 30:48Speaker 5: ninth birthday. I threw her a huge birthday party. I
- 30:50Speaker 5: paid a down payment for a house here. I got
- 30:54Speaker 5: my cities done. I stayed in Philly for about two months,
- 30:57Speaker 5: and then when I came back, I picked up my
- 30:58Speaker 5: daughter and I bought her back with me because she
- 31:00Speaker 5: was in She was in Maryland with my sister. So
- 31:04Speaker 5: I came back New Titties with my kid, with all
- 31:08Speaker 5: my ship in the U hard truck, got a little
- 31:10Speaker 5: crib and now I'm settling. So I'm thinking when I
- 31:13Speaker 5: come back to make the City that the Titties is
- 31:15Speaker 5: gonna get me. Nobody cared. Nobody care.
- 31:22Speaker 6: He was like, how you coming right here?
- 31:25Speaker 5: So even before I was about to leave to go,
- 31:28Speaker 5: I told Mikey, y'all know, little Madge. I told a
- 31:30Speaker 5: little madge, I'm like, I'm gonna get my I said,
- 31:32Speaker 5: I'm going home to get my daughter and all of that.
- 31:34Speaker 5: But I'm gonna be going for a couple months because
- 31:36Speaker 5: I'm gonna get my titties done. He said why. I
- 31:38Speaker 5: was like, because I want him.
- 31:39Speaker 6: I've been wanting for a long time.
- 31:40Speaker 5: He's like, get your ass done. Don't get your titties done.
- 31:42Speaker 5: Nobody's gonna care. And he was right. So I came
- 31:45Speaker 5: home and I thought that the titties was gonna matter.
- 31:47Speaker 5: And the titties didn't matter. So I got on the
- 31:49Speaker 5: phone and I called my homegirl and I was like,
- 31:51Speaker 5: what's the lady number? Y, Yes, I did.
- 31:55Speaker 4: I gotta go see the lady.
- 31:56Speaker 5: How what's up with the table? I'm trying to lay
- 31:59Speaker 5: on it?
- 31:59Speaker 2: How much was the as shots?
- 32:01Speaker 5: So it varies, So it all depends on how much
- 32:04Speaker 5: you got and what they're trying to do. Well who
- 32:07Speaker 5: you go to, because some people will give you twenty
- 32:10Speaker 5: five hundred dollars worth and some people will be like,
- 32:13Speaker 5: I'm not doing that much at once. So at the time,
- 32:16Speaker 5: I don't know what it is now, but at the time,
- 32:18Speaker 5: the least amount you could do was like five hundred dollars.
- 32:20Speaker 5: So my very first time I did the five hundred dollars.
- 32:24Speaker 5: And then I want to say, over the course of
- 32:27Speaker 5: like eight nine years, I probably went about twelve to
- 32:31Speaker 5: fifteen times. What but and I was always small, like,
- 32:35Speaker 5: I'm still very small. I just got ask some cities down,
- 32:37Speaker 5: but I'm still a very petite woman, So I didn't
- 32:40Speaker 5: want to just go and pop out with ass. Yeah,
- 32:42Speaker 5: it gradually and I gained weight over it, and you know,
- 32:46Speaker 5: over time, you know, I added hips and now I
- 32:49Speaker 5: have you know what we got going on here? And
- 32:51Speaker 5: I've since then, I'm I'm about to be on my
- 32:53Speaker 5: third round of breast and plans because I had my
- 32:55Speaker 5: breast done again. After that, I've had light bo twice.
- 32:58Speaker 8: And why is it wasn't to your liking or you
- 33:02Speaker 8: just want to feel mold or something your whole, like
- 33:05Speaker 8: you said the LIFO and then you're getting your breast
- 33:06Speaker 8: done there.
- 33:07Speaker 5: Okay, so I hated my titties the first time. So
- 33:11Speaker 5: what people don't know about plastic surgery is the surgeons
- 33:14Speaker 5: are not magicians. Right. You can't take them a picture
- 33:18Speaker 5: and say I want to look like this if you
- 33:20Speaker 5: don't have that for them to work with. So basically,
- 33:22Speaker 5: all they do is enhance what you already have. So naturally,
- 33:25Speaker 5: with me being then a cup, I had a wide
- 33:27Speaker 5: space in between my breasts, so when I got my
- 33:29Speaker 5: titties done, I still had this wide space in between
- 33:31Speaker 5: my breast and it looked like they just didn't get along.
- 33:33Speaker 5: And I did not like that. So I kept them
- 33:35Speaker 5: for five years and then I got them redone. And
- 33:37Speaker 5: when I got them redone, the surgeon that I went
- 33:39Speaker 5: to here actually doctor Jefferson, doctor j Curves. I went
- 33:42Speaker 5: to him like before he was I'm now yeah, So
- 33:45Speaker 5: I went to Jake Curves and he actually closed me up.
- 33:49Speaker 5: So now I don't have that space, and I love
- 33:51Speaker 5: the rest I have now. However, we're thirteen years past that,
- 33:55Speaker 5: and I at ten years I got them examined and
- 33:58Speaker 5: the doctor at the time told me, as long as
- 34:00Speaker 5: they don't bother you, don't bother them. They're in perfect shape.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Don't worry about them. But in my mind, having this
- 34:06Speaker 5: in my body for thirteen years, I'm freaked the fuck out.
- 34:09Speaker 5: So at this point I plan to get them done
- 34:12Speaker 5: sometime within the next two months. And I actually have,
- 34:17Speaker 5: you know, with my grandeur of being gg Maguire, I
- 34:20Speaker 5: get all of these perks, and free surgery is when
- 34:22Speaker 5: of it works, so this time around I won't have
- 34:25Speaker 5: to pay for them. The first pair I paid seventy
- 34:27Speaker 5: five hundred. For the second pair, I paid five thousand
- 34:29Speaker 5: and four. So this time they're gonna be free. And
- 34:31Speaker 5: the same with the life Boat. I recently just did
- 34:33Speaker 5: life bo in December, and that's because it was free.
- 34:36Speaker 5: First time I got LiPo done it was also free.
- 34:38Speaker 5: But the first time I got LiPo done, I only
- 34:40Speaker 5: got it across the smaller my back, And the reason
- 34:43Speaker 5: being is because the silicon from my butt shots had
- 34:46Speaker 5: rolls up and created like a roll across like my
- 34:50Speaker 5: belt line here. And I was actually going to see
- 34:54Speaker 5: the surgeons because I wanted to get fillers in my face,
- 34:56Speaker 5: and he was like, well, if you have any fat
- 34:57Speaker 5: that I can take, I can actually prosper. That's that,
- 35:00Speaker 5: and it'll be a natural a more natural filler than
- 35:02Speaker 5: a ready East or whatever you've learned. But when he
- 35:05Speaker 5: went to take the fat out, he's like, this ain't
- 35:06Speaker 5: even fat as silicon. Oh, so I couldn't use it.
- 35:09Speaker 6: Do you have problems with your butt like most of
- 35:12Speaker 6: these women are facing right now?
- 35:13Speaker 5: The problems I have, The number one problem I have
- 35:16Speaker 5: is that I can't sit on hard surfaces for too long.
- 35:18Speaker 5: It becomes to be uncomfortable. I can't really sleep on
- 35:21Speaker 5: a hard mattress, you know how you like sleep on
- 35:24Speaker 5: one side After a while, I have to switch to
- 35:26Speaker 5: the other side because it just creates a not really pain,
- 35:29Speaker 5: but an uncomfortable almost like a numbness. The other thing
- 35:33Speaker 5: is smacking my ass. Be gentle because that smack echoes deeply,
- 35:39Speaker 5: Like if I walk into a door knob or a
- 35:41Speaker 5: sharp corner, I feel like I got stabbed. So it's
- 35:43Speaker 5: very sensitive. And in the beginning I had some discoloration,
- 35:47Speaker 5: but over the years that has kind of mellowed out.
- 35:50Speaker 5: And the only problem I have right at this very
- 35:52Speaker 5: moment is the very last time I went to get
- 35:56Speaker 5: a touch up, which was in seventeen, twenty seventeen. I
- 36:01Speaker 5: don't know if the lady that I was going to
- 36:03Speaker 5: if she switched product or whatever, but that whatever she
- 36:07Speaker 5: used the last time, and now this is the reason
- 36:09Speaker 5: why I'll never go again. Is it my body encapsulated
- 36:12Speaker 5: it so in the spots where she touched me up
- 36:15Speaker 5: that I now have lumps because my body attacked it
- 36:18Speaker 5: and created like a scar tissue around it, so like
- 36:22Speaker 5: literally like you can feel like before it was perfectly
- 36:25Speaker 5: soft and everything was fine. But now there's like lumps
- 36:28Speaker 5: on the side.
- 36:28Speaker 4: So with your butt and breast, let's say you get
- 36:31Speaker 4: them both touched up, are you going bigger, smaller, same size?
- 36:34Speaker 5: So with my breast, I probably stay within the same size.
- 36:38Speaker 5: The only way that I would go bigger is if
- 36:40Speaker 5: the doctor recommended that based on the stretching of the skin.
- 36:44Speaker 5: As far as my bud's concerned, I'm not touching.
- 36:46Speaker 6: My butt no more. You would never get it taken
- 36:47Speaker 6: out either, would you.
- 36:49Speaker 5: If it was life threatening?
- 36:50Speaker 4: Okay, But even with like everything you just shared about
- 36:53Speaker 4: it being uncomfortable, you can't sit on hard surfaces, you
- 36:55Speaker 4: can't lay on one side like that wouldn't encourage you
- 36:58Speaker 4: to want to remove them.
- 37:01Speaker 5: Listen, I mean it's been since two thousand and six,
- 37:04Speaker 5: so I'm in it.
- 37:05Speaker 8: Yeah, Like you can't take a long flight. I can't,
- 37:08Speaker 8: but I'll have to eventually stand up.
- 37:10Speaker 6: You can't sit on like a pillow or anything.
- 37:12Speaker 5: I can. Okay, yeah, that'll help. But it's mainly like
- 37:16Speaker 5: and when I say a long period of time, I
- 37:18Speaker 5: don't mean just like two hours. I mean like six
- 37:21Speaker 5: seven hours. Okay, you know eventually flight, So on an
- 37:24Speaker 5: international fight, you won't get up in pe once twice anyway,
- 37:26Speaker 5: So you know, as long as I like relief for
- 37:29Speaker 5: a few minutes in this.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Question, Yeah, now you got got the Bible, you got
- 37:34Speaker 2: the butt. Now you're a magic city. And of course
- 37:38Speaker 2: we know back in back in this timeframe, the celebs
- 37:41Speaker 2: are pouring through that moth. Yes, And what's the most
- 37:45Speaker 2: money you have made in the night?
- 37:48Speaker 5: So on a regular regular any given Monday, Saturday, Friday,
- 37:52Speaker 5: whatever night, I would say probably seven eight nine. On
- 37:58Speaker 5: a birthday you know how we had the birthday set, Yeah,
- 38:01Speaker 5: seventeen thousand and my last dance was close to thirty.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Yeam, Now, who's like your favorite favorite celebrity. Did you
- 38:11Speaker 2: have regular celebrities?
- 38:12Speaker 5: I didn't have regular celebrities, but I will say that
- 38:16Speaker 5: there was an appreciation because y'all know the snack pack, right,
- 38:19Speaker 5: That's how I was going to go to the snack Yeah,
- 38:21Speaker 5: so there was an appreciation. There was a huge appreciation
- 38:24Speaker 5: for the talent. So when you would have artists like
- 38:29Speaker 5: Lloyd and Neo who are also to usher, they would
- 38:33Speaker 5: appreciate our show because they the same way when I
- 38:36Speaker 5: saw my cousin agents my cousin, like when you see
- 38:39Speaker 5: somebody like, oh, they're doing that. Oh that's God given. Say, okay,
- 38:42Speaker 5: then you appreciate that.
- 38:43Speaker 2: People who don't know what's the snack pack?
- 38:45Speaker 5: So snack Pack is Magic City's very first premiere whole
- 38:49Speaker 5: dance team or future group. And I created that.
- 38:53Speaker 6: How did that come about?
- 38:54Speaker 5: So it started with Gigi and Jojo. There's a girl
- 38:56Speaker 5: named Fierce who worked at Magic City and me and
- 38:58Speaker 5: her were like besties. And and y'all know the rotation goes,
- 39:01Speaker 5: when you walk in, you sign, you walk in, you
- 39:03Speaker 5: pay your bur fee, and there's a list, right, so
- 39:07Speaker 5: they do one two four five first stage, one to
- 39:09Speaker 5: three four five second stage right general rotation. So me
- 39:12Speaker 5: and Fierce was signing together, but then there was always
- 39:15Speaker 5: a random three girls that we were on stage with,
- 39:17Speaker 5: and we'd be on the stage doing all these crazy
- 39:19Speaker 5: pull tricks and dropping into the splits and standing on
- 39:21Speaker 5: the heads and doing all this shit, and they over
- 39:23Speaker 5: there two steps of but we would have to split
- 39:24Speaker 5: our money with them. So Mikey took heed to that
- 39:27Speaker 5: and he snatched us out of that, and he was like,
- 39:29Speaker 5: I'm gonna put y'all. I'm gonna separate y'all because I
- 39:31Speaker 5: see the work that y'all put in and it's not
- 39:33Speaker 5: fair that. And it almost got to the point where
- 39:36Speaker 5: girls would want to sign up with us because they
- 39:38Speaker 5: knew we was gonna make money on it.
- 39:39Speaker 4: Yeah, they knew, let's work and get a lot of money.
- 39:42Speaker 5: So he separated us. He gave us twelve o'clock and
- 39:44Speaker 5: two o'clock, and then that lasted for about a year
- 39:47Speaker 5: or two, and then she decided that she wanted to
- 39:49Speaker 5: go back to school and she wasn't gonna dance anymore.
- 39:51Speaker 5: So now I'm stuck in general pop by myself, and
- 39:55Speaker 5: I wasn't trying to do that. So at the same time,
- 39:58Speaker 5: there was an Onyx opening up Philly, and Philly never
- 40:01Speaker 5: had a big booty club before, Like they are little
- 40:04Speaker 5: teeny hood clubs, but they never had like a big
- 40:06Speaker 5: booty club where the celebrities is getting booked and it's
- 40:09Speaker 5: that bottles and sections and that whole thing. So this
- 40:12Speaker 5: was new for Philly. So I ran my happy ass
- 40:15Speaker 5: back home and got those trash bags off that stage
- 40:18Speaker 5: for a good six seven eight months. And then when
- 40:20Speaker 5: I came back, Mikey is like, well, while you were gone,
- 40:24Speaker 5: there's a group of girls who have officially taken over
- 40:27Speaker 5: the shop. Now they don't get twelve and two, but
- 40:30Speaker 5: they signed in together and they kind of do the
- 40:32Speaker 5: whole potriits and everything, and he's like, if you want,
- 40:36Speaker 5: I'll make y'all the new set. So I'm like, okay, cool,
- 40:40Speaker 5: I fuck with them, like I'm I was friends with
- 40:42Speaker 5: all of them, so I'm like, I'm rocking with that.
- 40:43Speaker 5: Let's do that. So we went so corny. We wanted
- 40:47Speaker 5: our name to be the NPA, the National Poll Association,
- 40:52Speaker 5: because he was just you know, he was a pros
- 40:54Speaker 5: but that was what and escot out the ESCO DJ
- 40:58Speaker 5: Esco Escho was Magic Cities DJ, and they are I'm
- 41:03Speaker 5: very petite. I'm five to five and very petite, but
- 41:05Speaker 5: they were all like five to two and under five
- 41:07Speaker 5: three and under, so very bite sized. So he called
- 41:10Speaker 5: us the snack Pack so he would be like snackpicks
- 41:12Speaker 5: at the stage, snackpakes to the stage, and that just stuck,
- 41:14Speaker 5: and now we're known as the snack Pack. So I
- 41:18Speaker 5: left Magic City in twenty eleven. The Snack Pack continued
- 41:21Speaker 5: on until each of them eventually left. Two of those
- 41:24Speaker 5: girls are actually actresses on Pea Voley right now, and
- 41:28Speaker 5: the other two. I'm not really sure because we weren't
- 41:30Speaker 5: as close, so I don't really know where they are
- 41:31Speaker 5: in the world. But Magic City has continued on with
- 41:35Speaker 5: the cruise, So when you go to Magic City, you're
- 41:38Speaker 5: going to see the girls doing the poetricks and all
- 41:40Speaker 5: of that. They still a lot of them still do
- 41:42Speaker 5: the poetricks that we created with the snack pack, So
- 41:44Speaker 5: that part, when I go in there and I see that,
- 41:46Speaker 5: I'll be like, all type of story, It's crazy.
- 41:50Speaker 4: You're really a legend in these streets.
- 41:51Speaker 6: Girl.
- 41:52Speaker 5: It's amazing because I just be like, who me?
- 41:55Speaker 4: Yeah, But how do you go from like, what's the
- 41:59Speaker 4: transition between like getting your respect, your due respect, from
- 42:02Speaker 4: coming from the strip clubs to now being on podcasts
- 42:06Speaker 4: being a businesswoman? Like, was that a struggle to get
- 42:09Speaker 4: that respect? Because I feel like we already know what
- 42:11Speaker 4: happens to the strip club Like it ain't just people
- 42:14Speaker 4: coming to spending money, throwing ones like they're probably demanding sex.
- 42:17Speaker 4: They want sex from them, So how are you transitioning.
- 42:20Speaker 5: I'm gonna be mean no matter what, which is why
- 42:23Speaker 5: I wear my government name around my neck and diamonds
- 42:25Speaker 5: so people will always know no matter what I'm gonna
- 42:26Speaker 5: be Coffee, right, That's me. Gigi is the personality, Gigi
- 42:31Speaker 5: is the go getter, Gigi is who we all know
- 42:33Speaker 5: in love for the Theatris and that whole thing. But
- 42:35Speaker 5: I'm gonna always be genuine to who I know I am,
- 42:37Speaker 5: and that's coffee. So with that being said, my respect
- 42:43Speaker 5: is gonna come because of what I get right, and
- 42:46Speaker 5: I'm always give genuine. I'm always giving real, I'm always
- 42:49Speaker 5: give honest, and people respect that. And what I did
- 42:54Speaker 5: at Mega City or any club all over the world
- 42:56Speaker 5: that I have been able to grace the stages of
- 42:59Speaker 5: it was work. That was a performance. I was sharing
- 43:02Speaker 5: my talent. You know, I was being paid. I was
- 43:04Speaker 5: on the job. So as far as like bridging the two,
- 43:09Speaker 5: when it comes to respect in this new world that
- 43:12Speaker 5: I am, I feel like it just comes natural because
- 43:15Speaker 5: I don't hide behind anything. I'm very upfront and very
- 43:19Speaker 5: forward with everything. I own everything I've said and done,
- 43:22Speaker 5: and people respect that in itself, and my my experiences
- 43:27Speaker 5: and my stories are fucking just yeah, I'm a fucking jit.
- 43:31Speaker 5: I'm a superhero life experience.
- 43:33Speaker 6: Speaking of those stories, can you give us a couple
- 43:35Speaker 6: of group of.
- 43:35Speaker 4: Tales, tales who came in a tipping two three dollars,
- 43:42Speaker 4: Michael Jordan's Oh no, Michael Jordan's Michael Jordan's yes, yeah.
- 43:48Speaker 6: You probably lost to bet that now you know. He
- 43:49Speaker 6: again called.
- 43:50Speaker 5: Jordan, but I heard that he's not a big tipper
- 43:52Speaker 5: in any aspect.
- 43:54Speaker 6: Any cool little stories you can, doll.
- 43:56Speaker 5: I got so many stories. I don't know much. I
- 43:58Speaker 5: want to hear who spent the most money, but she wasn't.
- 44:05Speaker 6: I was there after me.
- 44:07Speaker 5: I want to say it was a group effort between
- 44:10Speaker 5: like Geezy t R, Gucci, Pacman, Jones, uh Neo didn't
- 44:19Speaker 5: really spend. I wouldn't say the most. He did spend,
- 44:21Speaker 5: but I wouldn't put him at the top of the
- 44:23Speaker 5: list of spenders.
- 44:25Speaker 3: It was.
- 44:25Speaker 5: It was mostly the rappers and the athlete O n P. Future. Yeah,
- 44:30Speaker 5: but future kind of came a little after the fact
- 44:32Speaker 5: because future wasn't future when I was. He was up future,
- 44:37Speaker 5: like the same way g Z Nando broke g was
- 44:41Speaker 5: he a big singers shout out to my bro Trey
- 44:44Speaker 5: songs songs always Well, he's like my bro, like we're
- 44:49Speaker 5: like this. We actually used to live together and it
- 44:50Speaker 5: was speculated that we were dating because I was always
- 44:53Speaker 5: around him and I was always the only female and
- 44:55Speaker 5: the crew, but never anything like that between me and him.
- 44:58Speaker 5: He just used to go about my friends. Yeah. I
- 45:00Speaker 5: actually popped popcorn one time and watched him fuck my
- 45:03Speaker 5: homegirl and I was giving her point. It's like, girl,
- 45:04Speaker 5: punch your toes. Watch that back, girl thought it.
- 45:06Speaker 6: Yeah, so y'all used to live together.
- 45:09Speaker 5: Yeah, what was that like? It was cool. So my
- 45:14Speaker 5: cousin was his manager, and that's how we met, and
- 45:19Speaker 5: he decided that he would buy a house here after
- 45:22Speaker 5: Trey recorded in the studio house here. Tredyd Would was
- 45:25Speaker 5: his second album, Delanonte Murphy. I don't know I y'all
- 45:27Speaker 5: know him. He's in the industry. So Delonte decided that
- 45:30Speaker 5: he wanted to buy a house here. And I was
- 45:33Speaker 5: living in this little ranch house in Riverdale with my daughter,
- 45:36Speaker 5: and I was always over there spending time at the
- 45:39Speaker 5: studio house. So when he decided he would buy a
- 45:41Speaker 5: house here, he was going to keep his condo in Jersey.
- 45:43Speaker 5: He's like, you and the baby shit, move into my
- 45:44Speaker 5: house so that way I can trust that somebody's there
- 45:47Speaker 5: watching the house while I'm always traveling. And then since
- 45:50Speaker 5: you always around anyway, you know, it'll be a better environment,
- 45:52Speaker 5: you'll have help with the baby. So I'm like, okay, cool.
- 45:55Speaker 5: So he bought this house off Camp Princeton Lakes. When
- 45:57Speaker 5: Princeton Lakes first opened up back there, I literally watched
- 46:00Speaker 5: them build the movie theater and the liquor store and
- 46:02Speaker 5: all of that over there. So anyway, we moved into
- 46:04Speaker 5: the house in Princeton Lakes and I had a room,
- 46:07Speaker 5: my daughter had a room, Delante had a room, Trey
- 46:09Speaker 5: had a room, and then there was He built the
- 46:10Speaker 5: studio in the basement and that's where they filmed recorded
- 46:14Speaker 5: Passion playing and Pleasure and Ready, and then everybody would
- 46:17Speaker 5: come through. So this is another as far as like
- 46:19Speaker 5: the respect and all that. So back in my stripper days,
- 46:23Speaker 5: I would be in the house and I'll use Drake
- 46:26Speaker 5: for a reference. So the very first time I met Drake,
- 46:28Speaker 5: he had came to the He had came to the
- 46:30Speaker 5: house to record Replacement Girl with Trey songs. And this
- 46:34Speaker 5: the studio wasn't even in the basement yet, it was
- 46:36Speaker 5: completely concrete. We had a stripper pole in the corner
- 46:39Speaker 5: and I sat down there the whole time with them,
- 46:42Speaker 5: and while they were recording, I would just roller blunt
- 46:43Speaker 5: pass it, rolled bun past it, roll past it. So
- 46:46Speaker 5: fast forward to like, I don't know, a year or
- 46:48Speaker 5: two later, I'm in Dallas dancing and I see Drake
- 46:52Speaker 5: and he's like, and I'm like, ye.
- 46:57Speaker 6: Happened.
- 46:57Speaker 5: That would happen a lot. It would be I would
- 46:59Speaker 5: meet somebody in that recording session or at a studio
- 47:04Speaker 5: or just hanging out with Trey, and then shot the
- 47:06Speaker 5: Clay because that's how I met Clay. Also Clay Evans. Yes, yeah,
- 47:10Speaker 5: shot the Clay. May he rest in peace. I love
- 47:13Speaker 5: that man. But so I would meet people in that
- 47:15Speaker 5: setting and then they would come in magic and then
- 47:17Speaker 5: they would be throwing money and then they would be like,
- 47:19Speaker 5: I'd like, remember me.
- 47:20Speaker 6: Nobody was ever on the poll in the in the studio.
- 47:23Speaker 5: The way that worked is it came from the studio
- 47:25Speaker 5: house and then they took it over there. So I
- 47:27Speaker 5: would instead of so since Trey was filming, since he
- 47:31Speaker 5: was recording, and Nockio from drew Hill was his A
- 47:34Speaker 5: and R. And he had a bunch of different producers
- 47:37Speaker 5: that were always in the house. Troy Taylor, who eventually
- 47:39Speaker 5: became my daughter's godfather, yeah, we're really close. We're also
- 47:42Speaker 5: like brother and sister. They would all be in the house,
- 47:45Speaker 5: so instead of them going out to the club, I
- 47:47Speaker 5: would bring the club to them. So I would bring
- 47:48Speaker 5: the girls to the house and the patron and the weed.
- 47:51Speaker 5: And that's what the stripper pole was.
- 47:53Speaker 4: But you were you weren't.
- 47:54Speaker 5: No, Yeah, I was in the corner round Bunz making drinks.
- 47:57Speaker 6: So you left the strip club eventually, And what year
- 48:00Speaker 6: was that?
- 48:01Speaker 5: Eleven?
- 48:01Speaker 6: Eleven? Okay, so why did you leave?
- 48:05Speaker 5: Yeah, love, I guess.
- 48:09Speaker 2: So reship with this guy.
- 48:12Speaker 5: So I started dating a record executive who shall remain
- 48:16Speaker 5: nameless while the mics are on. But we started dating
- 48:19Speaker 5: and he's a president of a very major label, so
- 48:24Speaker 5: he has artists here. And you know, he's from New York.
- 48:28Speaker 5: So the culture here is like, oh my bitch record
- 48:30Speaker 5: major city she live. But the culture there is like
- 48:33Speaker 5: how your girl work, How your girl working made the
- 48:35Speaker 5: city Like to them, I'm standing on I'm standing outside
- 48:37Speaker 5: greathoud on something. Dad, you know what I'm saying, Like,
- 48:39Speaker 5: that's how they look at it. We might as well
- 48:40Speaker 5: be street walking, jumping in and out of cars the
- 48:43Speaker 5: way that they look at dancing in New York. Well,
- 48:45Speaker 5: it's kind of changed over the years since, like Starlett's
- 48:48Speaker 5: and that whole Bernice in that whole thing, even though
- 48:50Speaker 5: it was like more of the Bartenders. But even still,
- 48:53Speaker 5: dance strip doesn't get the same respect up North that
- 48:56Speaker 5: he gets down South at all.
- 48:58Speaker 6: It's a different culture.
- 48:59Speaker 5: It's very different, very different. So it just got to
- 49:03Speaker 5: the point where any given Monday, one of his artists
- 49:05Speaker 5: could come in made the city and see elbows and
- 49:08Speaker 5: booty holes, you know what I'm saying. And he just
- 49:10Speaker 5: wasn't feeling that. So he just talked me into quitting,
- 49:14Speaker 5: and even though I was reluctant, I did and I
- 49:17Speaker 5: woke up the next day to a PLANTEUMX. So then
- 49:19Speaker 5: you had the last dance though, Yes, So what happened
- 49:22Speaker 5: with that is I came in to have my very
- 49:26Speaker 5: last Monday. So this was after we had this talk
- 49:28Speaker 5: and I decided I was gonna quit. I got damn
- 49:30Speaker 5: mixing my wallet and I came into Veda City for
- 49:33Speaker 5: my very last Monday, and I'm like, first things first,
- 49:35Speaker 5: I came down to the office, I sat down with
- 49:37Speaker 5: Mikey and I'm like, it's my last day. And he's like,
- 49:40Speaker 5: why I'm like I'm done, and he's like, but what, like,
- 49:45Speaker 5: what are you about to do? And I'm like, you know,
- 49:47Speaker 5: my guy isn't really feeling the vibes, and out of
- 49:50Speaker 5: respect to my relationship, I'm gonna transition into doing something else.
- 49:53Speaker 5: So I had already been teaching at the time, hold dancing,
- 49:56Speaker 5: So I'm like, I'm gonna just, you know, move on
- 49:58Speaker 5: to open up dance studio, but for now I'm gonna
- 50:01Speaker 5: teach full time. I was teaching part time. It's how
- 50:03Speaker 5: were you thirty one?
- 50:05Speaker 6: Okay?
- 50:06Speaker 5: So he's like, you can't just leave. You're not the
- 50:11Speaker 5: average dancer like you are. Gigi, Like you just can't
- 50:15Speaker 5: walk away, Like you gotta give the people something. You
- 50:18Speaker 5: gotta give you, Yeah, like you gotta give the family,
- 50:21Speaker 5: the friends, the fans. You gotta give one final performance.
- 50:23Speaker 5: So I'm like, all right, I'm gonnaigure it out. Mind Joe.
- 50:25Speaker 5: This was in June. This performance didn't happen until December
- 50:28Speaker 5: because there were so many moving pieces that had to
- 50:30Speaker 5: be worked out. The date, you know, birthday sets is
- 50:33Speaker 5: a thing. They wouldn't give me a Monday, so it
- 50:35Speaker 5: had to be on a Saturday, and I had a choreographer.
- 50:39Speaker 5: I had celebrity drops, I had props, I had a
- 50:44Speaker 5: whole music thing set up, a full arm production, we
- 50:48Speaker 5: had practicing. I had it filmed for DVD. I sold
- 50:50Speaker 5: five hundred DVDs and it was like a big thing.
- 50:54Speaker 5: So I had this final performance in December of twenty eleven,
- 50:59Speaker 5: and when I tell y'all, I left my soul on
- 51:03Speaker 5: that stage. I left every ounce of strip that I
- 51:06Speaker 5: thought I had left in it. That was like the
- 51:09Speaker 5: performance that I always wanted to give, because strip is
- 51:11Speaker 5: always like hitties, ass bend over, split, poetrick split, give
- 51:17Speaker 5: me the money, right. I wanted to show that there
- 51:20Speaker 5: can be production, there can be choreo, there can be
- 51:24Speaker 5: entertained changing, and there could be outfit swaps. And so
- 51:27Speaker 5: I wanted to give that that I had in me
- 51:29Speaker 5: all of these years. I wanted to give that, and
- 51:32Speaker 5: I did.
- 51:32Speaker 6: Did your fiance come to the show?
- 51:34Speaker 5: Yeah he was there. Oh we never got married, but
- 51:35Speaker 5: yeah he was there. Okay he did proposed a couple
- 51:37Speaker 5: of times I to know, but he was there.
- 51:40Speaker 4: It sounds like it was like real theatrical, but like
- 51:44Speaker 4: a hood theatric.
- 51:45Speaker 5: That's exactly what it was.
- 51:46Speaker 4: But at this point, are you still dancing to like MJ?
- 51:49Speaker 4: And although I.
- 51:52Speaker 5: Had speed it up and got with the time.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Now, so you didn't keep any of your older routines
- 52:04Speaker 2: And I did? Yeah, So I did.
- 52:06Speaker 5: I did. I even the very first suck song on
- 52:08Speaker 5: that set was want to be Certain something. So what
- 52:10Speaker 5: I did with that performance is I took people on
- 52:13Speaker 5: the journey up from the beginning of my Magic City career.
- 52:16Speaker 2: So it was the ending song then, like the ending.
- 52:19Speaker 5: Song was Beyonce Dance for You, Okay, oh sexy, very sexy.
- 52:22Speaker 5: I did outfit change, I had props, I had a chat,
- 52:26Speaker 5: so I recreated flash dance so you know when she
- 52:29Speaker 5: pulls the string and the water comes down. That was
- 52:31Speaker 5: my finale, a step instead of water. It was two
- 52:33Speaker 5: thousand and ones and Era doesn't confetti to make.
- 52:37Speaker 2: You made dollars very close to close to very close.
- 52:41Speaker 5: In twenty eight minutes. Wow, it was like it was
- 52:44Speaker 5: almost like a thousand dollars a minute.
- 52:47Speaker 6: Now, did that make you want to stay?
- 52:50Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 52:52Speaker 6: I changed my mind.
- 52:53Speaker 5: Listen, Honestly, I wasn't ready to go.
- 52:56Speaker 4: I would keep the platinum A mix.
- 52:57Speaker 5: I wasn't ready to go. I wasn't ready to go.
- 52:59Speaker 5: But what I did was since I was a future performer,
- 53:01Speaker 5: So during this time, I was getting booked in Philly
- 53:04Speaker 5: and d C. And Baltimore and Memphis and all these
- 53:07Speaker 5: different types of places to come be a future performer.
- 53:10Speaker 5: So I still continued to do that for about two years.
- 53:14Speaker 5: Let's see, Yeah, up until October thirteen, I continued to
- 53:17Speaker 5: do features, so I still kind of had a little yeah,
- 53:22Speaker 5: but then eventually it was all done. I had eventually
- 53:24Speaker 5: moved to New York, and once I moved to New
- 53:26Speaker 5: York to live with him, then all all best. It
- 53:28Speaker 5: was all about the dances.
- 53:29Speaker 4: So when you get booked for a feature, is there
- 53:31Speaker 4: like a guarantee? Do you get a booking fee plus BOJSJ?
- 53:38Speaker 5: Yeah, that was two thousand dollars was my base rate
- 53:41Speaker 5: plus travel and then everything that I made on stage.
- 53:44Speaker 2: Now this is also you you have to stay in shape,
- 53:48Speaker 2: So how was your diety?
- 53:49Speaker 5: Told me? Personally? Again, I'm very naturally fatigue. It's genetics.
- 53:53Speaker 5: But I was also raised to eat very healthy, Like
- 53:56Speaker 5: my mom was like a herbalist like she when we
- 53:59Speaker 5: was kids, like I didn't didn't have like fast food
- 54:01Speaker 5: until I was in like middle school, Like we weren't
- 54:04Speaker 5: allowed to eat like red meat and like like little kids,
- 54:09Speaker 5: we ate like like chocolate covered raisins and dried fruit
- 54:14Speaker 5: as s necks.
- 54:15Speaker 4: Like.
- 54:16Speaker 5: We wasn't having can dy and chips and all that
- 54:18Speaker 5: unless we were outside the house. Like inside the house,
- 54:20Speaker 5: everything was very healthy. All of the vegetables was fresh,
- 54:24Speaker 5: all of our meals were cooked like my mother's house was.
- 54:27Speaker 5: Everything happened at my mother's house every baby shower, at
- 54:30Speaker 5: every birthday party, every holiday, and when you was old
- 54:33Speaker 5: enough to be able to chop on you without chopping
- 54:34Speaker 5: off your pinky, then you had to be in the
- 54:36Speaker 5: kitchen cooking. So I kind of kept that going. I mean,
- 54:39Speaker 5: you know, I slipped the slide around the food you
- 54:42Speaker 5: know board as a young adult, but I always found
- 54:46Speaker 5: myself back to where I am now. I don't eat well.
- 54:50Speaker 5: I do got to Chick fil a cup, But I
- 54:51Speaker 5: promise y'all we had a solid it because I was starving.
- 54:54Speaker 5: But I haven't had fast food and almost a decade,
- 54:57Speaker 5: not more than a decade, almost fifteen.
- 54:59Speaker 2: Years at this naturally already.
- 55:01Speaker 5: And let me tell you, whole dancing is the best
- 55:05Speaker 5: workout a woman can do. It's core it's cardio, it's
- 55:10Speaker 5: full body, and I honestly, I wouldn't even know what
- 55:14Speaker 5: to do in the gym besides walking the traip.
- 55:15Speaker 2: Yeah, so I was gonna say, did you ever go
- 55:17Speaker 2: to the gym? So you never went to the gym.
- 55:19Speaker 8: What people don't understand is a lot of the weight
- 55:22Speaker 8: loss and the maintainance in your diet.
- 55:24Speaker 5: ABS are made in the kitchen. Abs are made in
- 55:27Speaker 5: the kitchen.
- 55:28Speaker 8: But I was gonna say, you are aging gracefully and
- 55:30Speaker 8: your skin is really beautiful.
- 55:32Speaker 4: I'm literally staring at your face like.
- 55:34Speaker 5: So listeny, I just turned forty four. So I just
- 55:39Speaker 5: turned forty four. I have a twenty six year old daughter,
- 55:42Speaker 5: and July E letward Kaya, she's actually a director. She
- 55:47Speaker 5: went to film and photography school. She went to School
- 55:50Speaker 5: of Visual Arts in New York City for filming photography.
- 55:53Speaker 5: So very proud of her. She started production company. So
- 55:55Speaker 5: she's out here shooting like music videos for the little
- 55:57Speaker 5: hood rappers, and you know, she gets a little job
- 56:00Speaker 5: here and there where she does her thing. And I
- 56:02Speaker 5: am extremely proud of my child because you know, everybody
- 56:04Speaker 5: thought that she was gonna end up walking in my
- 56:06Speaker 5: footsteps because I exposed her to so much, but that
- 56:09Speaker 5: wasn't the case. She's the exact total opposite of me.
- 56:11Speaker 5: Only thing I got to worry about her taking out
- 56:12Speaker 5: my closet is my Jordan's and Mahoda.
- 56:15Speaker 6: What was her feeling or how was you guys relationship
- 56:18Speaker 6: throughout that entire time with.
- 56:19Speaker 5: Me being a dancer, so I always kept everything open
- 56:23Speaker 5: and I gradually fed her with I felt like she
- 56:26Speaker 5: would understand. So I never hid the shoes, the money
- 56:30Speaker 5: to close, the late nights, the drinking. I never hit
- 56:32Speaker 5: any of that from her. I just explained it to
- 56:34Speaker 5: her in a way that she would understand the order
- 56:36Speaker 5: that she got. So again, my dance technical dance background.
- 56:39Speaker 5: I was a part of a dance troup where we
- 56:42Speaker 5: would get hired to do like hair shows and that
- 56:44Speaker 5: type of thing back in Philly, and as a two
- 56:46Speaker 5: year old, she would come to those practices with me.
- 56:48Speaker 5: So it started with that, and then once I'm working
- 56:51Speaker 5: in the club, it's like, Okay, now Mimmy has a
- 56:53Speaker 5: job where she gets paid to dance at the club
- 56:55Speaker 5: every night instead of doing random shows. And then it's
- 56:58Speaker 5: like okay, MIMMI dance club is a little sexy. It's
- 57:01Speaker 5: adults only you know, and then I kind of gradually
- 57:04Speaker 5: like feeding in. But by the time she got the
- 57:06Speaker 5: middle school here in Atlanta and I'm gg maguire, she did.
- 57:12Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying.
- 57:13Speaker 5: She was driving to school. Hello Infinny, she was lit.
- 57:16Speaker 2: Can I ask my angela ye? Question?
- 57:17Speaker 8: Now, guys, one second before we get off of this,
- 57:20Speaker 8: I just want to know where did GG McGuire come from.
- 57:22Speaker 5: The name Wayne. Surprisingly, he's not really so Gg. So
- 57:31Speaker 5: I was Ginger. And when I came to Magic City,
- 57:35Speaker 5: they already had a Ginger And even though she wasn't
- 57:38Speaker 5: actively working there anymore, she still had a Violet permit,
- 57:40Speaker 5: so they could not give me that name because as
- 57:42Speaker 5: long as her permit was violid, she can come to
- 57:44Speaker 5: work any time she wanted. So they were like, well,
- 57:46Speaker 5: just switch it to something, and I'm like, switch it
- 57:49Speaker 5: to what And they're like Gigi and I'm like, that's
- 57:51Speaker 5: what we call my grandmam. And they're like, so, want'll
- 57:53Speaker 5: be easy for you to remember. I'm like, all right, cool,
- 57:55Speaker 5: so and they're like, well, you know, after her permit
- 57:58Speaker 5: goes up, then you can switch it to the gender.
- 58:00Speaker 5: But I became so popular as Gigi that it just stuck.
- 58:03Speaker 5: So years down the line, I have a little adult
- 58:07Speaker 5: friendship with little Wayne, Like we were never in a relationship,
- 58:10Speaker 5: but we were. Yeah, we were cool. I would hang
- 58:15Speaker 5: out on no I would hang out on the tour
- 58:16Speaker 5: bus a lot Waynesboro. So here's your groupy tale. So
- 58:21Speaker 5: I'm hanging out with Lila Wayne and We're on the
- 58:23Speaker 5: tour bus and we're listening to some unreleased music and
- 58:26Speaker 5: he's like, Weezy Maguire, show me the money, and I'm like,
- 58:29Speaker 5: gg Maglia, show me and he's like, Yo, that's fire.
- 58:32Speaker 5: You should get that. You should get that. So it
- 58:35Speaker 5: just so happened to be coming up on my birthday.
- 58:37Speaker 5: This was in like two thousand and seven or eight,
- 58:40Speaker 5: and it was coming up on my birthday. And I've
- 58:42Speaker 5: always been very theatrical, right, so I will always come
- 58:45Speaker 5: with the ill themes and the and decorators and shit,
- 58:47Speaker 5: I would decorate the whole club. So this year I
- 58:50Speaker 5: did a GG versus GG maguire, a spind on the
- 58:52Speaker 5: whole Gemini thing. So Gigi was the girly girl in
- 58:55Speaker 5: pink with the curly ponytails and the Lollipop was his
- 58:58Speaker 5: song at the time, and the lollipop with the two right,
- 59:00Speaker 5: and then GG MacGuire was in the black power suit
- 59:03Speaker 5: with the silver briefcase, you know, looking real sophisticated. So
- 59:07Speaker 5: I went with that whole thing and I introduced myself
- 59:10Speaker 5: as GG maguire and it really stuck as from that point,
- 59:13Speaker 5: like people respected me enough to go first name, last
- 59:15Speaker 5: name with me, Okay, and I'm here for it.
- 59:17Speaker 6: All right, Ryan, I'm sorry, go ahead, all right?
- 59:19Speaker 2: So, now how did you meet Angelae? And then how
- 59:22Speaker 2: did lip service start?
- 59:24Speaker 3: We'll be right by. Stay tuned with more of The
- 59:26Speaker 3: Baller Alert Show. You're listening to a special edition of
- 59:34Speaker 3: The Baller Alert Show.
- 59:35Speaker 5: Hey, y'all, what's going on? You are tuned in to
- 59:38Speaker 5: The Baller Alert Show.
- 59:39Speaker 6: Period.
- 59:40Speaker 5: So Angela had lip service on SiriusXM prior to her
- 59:44Speaker 5: getting her job at Power, so she had to kind
- 59:48Speaker 5: of leave lip service and to the wayside when she
- 59:51Speaker 5: went to the breakfast club. Fast forward to when podcasts
- 59:54Speaker 5: started becoming a thing in twenty fourteen. She calls me
- 59:57Speaker 5: and she's like, I'm about to bring lipservice back as
- 59:59Speaker 5: a podcast and I want you to host with me.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: We were friends, Okay.
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: Yeah, so you did you make any appearances on her
- 1:00:06Speaker 6: first I did. I came in.
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: I came in as a as a guest, and we
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: did a whole segment about Magic City. It was pretty cool.
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: It was when I first moved to New York till
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: around twenty thirteen. Okay, so the way that we met
- 1:00:21Speaker 5: is she's really close friends with my ed. Yeah, the
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: one who made you leave the club. Okay, Yeah, so
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: they were close friends, and me and her created our
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: own friendship, and what fifteen years later, we're still going strong.
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: So lip Service has been going for eight years. We
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: won to Gracie a couple of years ago, and the
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: the co hosts have been interchanging throughout the years. But
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: I can probably say that I have been the only
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: co host that has never left and has been consistent. Now,
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: I might miss a couple of episodes here and there
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: because I lived in Atlanta, but but I've been the most.
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: I've been the only consistent co host by her side
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: for the entire time that it has been a podcast.
- 1:01:04Speaker 8: Yeah, when I've watched or when I came on and
- 1:01:07Speaker 8: started watching, it was you Angela, Stephanie, and then Loriel.
- 1:01:12Speaker 8: But you were there before Stephanie and well, me and
- 1:01:16Speaker 8: Stephanie came in together, okay.
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: But the reason why I can say that I'm the
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: only consistent is because Stephanie left for a year, and
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: that's how Loriel came about. Looriel and Angela were very
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: close friends at the time, and so Loriel would In
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: twenty fifteen, about a year after we started, I had
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: moved from the house in New York with my ex
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: and I moved to Philly for a while. We broke
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: up and I moved to Philly and I was managing
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: the strip club there, so that this time, lip service
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: was fairly new, and we would literally get the call
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: like can you come today? Can you come tomorrow? So
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: it was a lot of times when I couldn't make it.
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: I have a full time job, yeah, you know, it
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: was too last minute, and even though it's only an
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: hour and a half drive from New York, I had
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: obligations to uphold with my job, so I couldn't always
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: make lip service. So Lorio was sitting when I wasn't there.
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: Lorio was sitting when Angela when stephan He wasn't there.
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: And then Stephanie decided that she wanted to move to
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: Los Angeles and she stayed there for a full year,
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: so during the time that Stephanie was living in La
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: Loiel said, in full time for that year. And when
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: Stephanie came back, there's now four of.
- 1:02:15Speaker 6: Us, okay, yeah, because it was just three.
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: Yeah, and originally came forward then it became.
- 1:02:19Speaker 8: But now it's just dy'all replace her with the other lady.
- 1:02:23Speaker 8: Now Lareel's not there anymore at all.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: Right, it is Laurels down here in Atlanta.
- 1:02:28Speaker 6: Yes, what's that? Was it a bad brand?
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: It was Angela and Laurio no longer friends and yeah,
- 1:02:38Speaker 5: and they were like best friends because you know, it's
- 1:02:43Speaker 5: it's it's an inside thing and you know, I don't
- 1:02:45Speaker 5: want to get into the details of it. But they
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: are no longer friends. We're still friends, but you're Larel,
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: but they're no longer friends. And when people asked, because
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: of course people ask like, why is it she on
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: the shoulder more, I honestly just say that because she
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: has a full time radio job and because she has
- 1:02:59Speaker 5: so many differ podcast she had to just you know,
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: kind of sacrifice slip services. But the really truth is
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: that they're not friends.
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: I would never guess it, never heard of it came.
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: So covid, so covid. We were on Zoom, yeah, and.
- 1:03:15Speaker 6: I was like, don't get energy.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: Now, what I liked about Zoom is that I didn't
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: have to fly to New York.
- 1:03:24Speaker 6: All I had to bed exactly.
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: All I do is get out my bed and throw
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: a hat on and then you know, we was rocking
- 1:03:29Speaker 5: and Roland. But so whatever happened between them happened during
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: the time that we were shifting back from Zoom to
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: in person and where we all just never made it back.
- 1:03:39Speaker 8: But that's cool that it didn't affect your relationship or that,
- 1:03:42Speaker 8: because Angela doesn't seemed the type of person that's like,
- 1:03:44Speaker 8: well you got to choose because like she's even friends
- 1:03:47Speaker 8: with you, and her friend is the ex fiance, so
- 1:03:51Speaker 8: she you know, she was cool.
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: Yeah. So and then as far as Laura, it's more
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: new right, it's the new co host, so she's more
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: like a permanent guest host. Okay, likes, but she's.
- 1:04:06Speaker 8: She's not a full yeah yeah, but she'll sit in
- 1:04:10Speaker 8: sometimes most of the time. Okay, most of the time,
- 1:04:12Speaker 8: because I've been seeing a lot of her yeah on there.
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: The more we love laur Yeah, why is she not permanent.
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: That's an angela question.
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:04:22Speaker 8: So when I get the call, let's move to beyond
- 1:04:25Speaker 8: the poll real quick? Yas your reality show, that show
- 1:04:28Speaker 8: get canceled.
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: Yes, well it didn't get canceled, but we TV didn't
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: pick us up for another season. So if the if
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: the creators of the show decide to find another outlet,
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: then that was a deep show.
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: Now, it was some I honestly believe.
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: That the timing was just all. You know, we did
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: a COVID special that was kind of like the kickoff,
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: and then when we did start filming the actual season,
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: COVID was still kind of happening, so we had to
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: test every other day and all the sets had to
- 1:04:59Speaker 5: be closed, and it just really didn't create what we
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: could have created if everything was just like opening, like
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: if we were to do it now, it was synergy
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: like you just yeah, yeah, it was too much happening. Uh.
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: The as far as all of the storylines, everything was
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: definitely real. Yeah, yeah, it seemed that everything was real.
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: I don't like time, that's not a it'stuf fake. Like
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: me and Virgo are like bestie, She's one of my
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: friends who was that she's on Pea Valley. I love Lyric,
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: I love Milk.
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: Marie.
- 1:05:35Speaker 5: Me and Angel used to work at Maddi City together
- 1:05:37Speaker 5: as well. I love her. I had just met Treasure,
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: but I like her as well. So yeah, oh and
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: how could I forget empress? Oh my god? Yeah, put
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: all the little baby daddies in the damn cigarettes. We
- 1:05:49Speaker 5: thought that that was gonna be like the even production
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: kind of like put her in the forefront because they
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: thought that her story with daddy's and her being Caucasian
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: around all these black people, what these black kids and
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: smoking cigarettes which she was pregnant, like, they really thought
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: that they was going to be the thing to like
- 1:06:05Speaker 5: blow the show up and nobody care.
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: Are you interested in doing reality again? Like is that
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: something you want to get into?
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: So there is a show.
- 1:06:13Speaker 5: That is brewing right now that's very similar to Beyond
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: the Pole, same concept I would say, and no shade
- 1:06:21Speaker 5: to be on the poll because I love you all
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: to death. But I would say, from what they're giving me, it's.
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: Like more creative freedom.
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: So like the show in itself is kind of more
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: like Real Housewives, less love and hip hop.
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: Showing your growth. It's not just trying to be focused
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: on something that's.
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: Dark and drama and drama. So it's still in the
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: production stages. I have confirmed that I will be a
- 1:06:46Speaker 5: cast member. I'm just waiting on the call. I wait
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: on the contract. Man, you got little service. You got
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: this contract is gonna waiting on it. So when the
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: contract comes through, you know, I'm ready to sign. I
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: enjoyed doing Reality of the TV because I've been on
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: a few shows as a friend. I'm really really close
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: friends with a Lolla Anthony, so she had me on
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: her show twice. And did I have a do Love
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: and hip Hop?
- 1:07:09Speaker 6: No?
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: No, I could have done love and hip hop, but
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: I didn't.
- 1:07:14Speaker 8: But not only Reality. You were on Pea Valley at
- 1:07:17Speaker 8: the myself. Yeah, at Jocelyn had a party on there.
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: The Legends Ball, the Legends Ball.
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: So the crazy thing about that, Yeah, the crazy thing
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: about the Legends Ball is that all of us really
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: did used to work together, Myself, Jocelyn, Tip Drill, and
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: Jessica d We all used to dance together.
- 1:07:34Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: I used to dance a lot. I dance for amber
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: Rose really Ice danced with Jerreia she don't like me
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: thy dance for Jeria. I used to Dan to a
- 1:07:40Speaker 5: lot of people.
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: Were they the same people did back then?
- 1:07:43Speaker 5: No, none almost knew that we would be who we
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: are today.
- 1:07:46Speaker 8: And I'm talking about like, as far as their attitudes
- 1:07:48Speaker 8: go and things of that nature. Was Jocelyn always like
- 1:07:50Speaker 8: on tip?
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: Yes? Okay, yes, Jocelyn was always Jocelyn.
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: Now, Wandrea don't like you? I don't know. That's her
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: a lot hammers.
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: I don't know. I think I bullied her in the
- 1:07:59Speaker 5: Strip Club back in the day. But as far as
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: people I use concerned, I don't know if y'all know this,
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: but my Magic City career life has been loosely used,
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: and I used the word loosely, very loosely used as
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: the muse for the storyline for Mercedes.
- 1:08:16Speaker 8: That last season, BOYD, when Mercedes in that couple, So
- 1:08:18Speaker 8: that that's a part of your story.
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: Too, well, no, okay. But but as far as her
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: being an it girl in the club, as far as
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: her being the leader of the trilogy, she did you
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: have a coach?
- 1:08:29Speaker 6: Did you have a coach?
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: He wasn't a coach, but yeah, I had, Yeah, I
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: had a little thing happening. As far as that, there's
- 1:08:39Speaker 5: a lot of similarities I have a daughter. She has
- 1:08:41Speaker 5: a daughter. But I took my last dance money and
- 1:08:43Speaker 5: I opened a full dance studio.
- 1:08:45Speaker 6: But your mama didn't take that and I didn't. Okay,
- 1:08:48Speaker 6: would you would have fought to your mama like she
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: did it when she?
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: I mean I for my mom when I was seventeen,
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: But fast forward to these to this time. If my
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: mom would have did that to me, I Bobby wouldn't
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: up in jail too, How dare you?
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:09:02Speaker 6: That was crazy.
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: We weren't cry for our money. Yeah, you just blatantly
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: take it, right, So what's next?
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: For?
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: So?
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: I went to open a restaurant in Atlanta? Yeah, what's
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: the live? So you know, like good feeling. I don't
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: want to say soul food, right, but just that good food.
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: We got good food to you, good feeling food, food
- 1:09:25Speaker 5: that just make you just whatever you selling.
- 1:09:29Speaker 6: They probably need to eat it because.
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: I'm telling you, thank you so again. Going back to
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: my mother, she passed away it'll be six years in
- 1:09:38Speaker 5: August of pancreatic cancer.
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 1:09:40Speaker 5: And my mother was like big mama. My mother was
- 1:09:44Speaker 5: there was always a warm place to sleep in, a
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: warm meal to eat, and her door was always open
- 1:09:48Speaker 5: to friends. I'm getting goosebum to friends, to family, to neighbors.
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: You know my mom's place. My mom's house was that
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: place that you know always could come to, and she
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: was She took care of everybody. She's a caregiver. And
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: I really feel like, out of all of my sisters,
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: that I have that part of her in me that
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: I take care of everybody. I'm always I will give
- 1:10:09Speaker 5: you the shirt off my back and go home with
- 1:10:11Speaker 5: my bra And I've done this, like you know, I
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: will give you my last if I feel like you
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: needed more than me, excuse me. And when it comes
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: to the cooking, my mom and you know, everybody say
- 1:10:22Speaker 5: there Mamuna cook right, But my mom really got some
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: serious recipes, like down to the smallest thing like double eggs.
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: My double eggs are world wide renowned. People bust my
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: door down. I got pictures of me holding the trail
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: of double eggs at a party and two seconds later
- 1:10:37Speaker 5: it's empty. They were in line lined up for them
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: fucking double eggs. And it's because she always has the
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: secret ingredient that she puts in everything. And I might
- 1:10:44Speaker 5: tell ya later, but I ain't gonna tell you all
- 1:10:46Speaker 5: my mic But so and beyond her little like she
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: always had her little thing that she did that makes
- 1:10:52Speaker 5: something stand out or make it extra special. And beyond that,
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: beyond those little gems that I took from her, the
- 1:10:58Speaker 5: number one special ingredient is always food is not only nourishment,
- 1:11:04Speaker 5: but it's a energy exchange. So when you cook with
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: love and you put those feelings inside your food, and
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: you serve people and you feed them and you feel
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: that love and return, that's priceless. So I want to
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: create that type of environment for with this restaurant, and
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: I wanted to be it'll be named after her, Bienta.
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: I was gonna ask that be into You never heard
- 1:11:24Speaker 5: that before, right exactly, So when you hear that, you're
- 1:11:26Speaker 5: gonna know what it is. So, I mean, she has
- 1:11:29Speaker 5: so many like she would take We would call it
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: be juice. So she would take too, you know how
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: the frozen mini made juice come in a can and
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: then you add water. So she would take two different
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: flavors of those and mix them together with some fresh
- 1:11:42Speaker 5: cut lemons and some sugar, and it was the best
- 1:11:44Speaker 5: fucking juice you ever had in your life. Again, we
- 1:11:46Speaker 5: weren't raised on kool aid. We weren't raised on soda.
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: We weren't raised on Hawaiian punch. Like she would take
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: celestial tea, herbal tea bags, the different flavor red Zinger, lemons, Zinger,
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: all those different flavors, and she would brew them and
- 1:11:59Speaker 5: put fresh cut limons in it and make a picture
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: of like iced tea out of that, and like, that's
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: what I grew up on. So it'd be things like that,
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: her devil eggs, her potato. Oh my gosh, you got
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: this slice potato recipe. We stay fishing potatoes every Friday
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: night my entire life. So it's like things like that
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: that would be on the menu that really just remind
- 1:12:16Speaker 5: me of my mom and of home and a family.
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: What advice would you give to young women who may
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: be starting out like you and see you as like
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: their life goal.
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: I would like to tell people to save their money,
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: because that's the mistake that I made off rip that
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: I wish I would not have. And not just if
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: you're a dancer, if you are anything, the red bottoms,
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: the Gucci bags, diamonds, all of that will come in time.
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: Save your money, and if you are going to spend
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: your money, spend your money on experiences. I learned that
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: traveling is therapeutic. That's like my favorite thing to do.
- 1:12:47Speaker 5: I love to travel. I love to experience different places,
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: different cultures. I want to go to an island and
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: go off the resort and see how the people really
- 1:12:54Speaker 5: live in and experience the home, relate to the restaurants
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: that are like culture. Yeah, like that whole thing. So
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: I would say that you want to like literalay experience,
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: save your money and be honest with yourself. Be true
- 1:13:07Speaker 5: to yourself, be true to who you are. I don't
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: know about in other places that I don't know where
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: everybody is from, but in Philly, where I'm from, the
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: one main problem I have with the people in Philadelphia
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: is that they don't want to accept They don't want
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: to express their liking for something until everybody else likes
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: it first. Like they're very like scared to express their
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: feelings for things until they know what's the cool thing
- 1:13:29Speaker 5: to do.
- 1:13:29Speaker 8: Armani White just said that same thing. Really, yes, and
- 1:13:33Speaker 8: he's from Philly. You're saying that people do not like
- 1:13:36Speaker 8: it until.
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: Everybody else like it, And I don't like that about Philly.
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: I'm gonna tll y'all when I went back in twenty fifteen.
- 1:13:40Speaker 5: I had been going for ten years, and I went
- 1:13:42Speaker 5: back in twenty fifteen, and I was literally depressed living there.
