- 0:00Speaker 1: Thanks Mike laying the krack in pulling a pollints against
- 0:03Speaker 1: Minnesota a couple nights ago, three two, falling in overtime.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Weren't happy with the start of that game, but are
- 0:09Speaker 1: you happy that they were able to salvage a point
- 0:10Speaker 1: out of that performance?
- 0:12Speaker 2: Yeah? I thought we showed a lot of character to
- 0:14Speaker 2: come back being down to nothing to that team, and
- 0:18Speaker 2: you know, we we did a really good job getting
- 0:22Speaker 2: a point. Like I said before, it's you know, you're
- 0:25Speaker 2: you're looking for sixty minutes. I think that you know,
- 0:29Speaker 2: we we left a little bit on the table potentially
- 0:31Speaker 2: early on.
- 0:33Speaker 1: In your mind, what did you feel with the turning
- 0:35Speaker 1: points for your team going into that third period?
- 0:38Speaker 2: I thought it started, you know, probably with about seven
- 0:41Speaker 2: or eight minutes left in the second period. We started
- 0:42Speaker 2: to find our legs a little bit understand our game
- 0:45Speaker 2: in terms of what we needed to do. And you know,
- 0:49Speaker 2: you may ask yourself, well, why didn't you know that
- 0:51Speaker 2: in the first thirty two minutes. Sometimes teams can be stubborn,
- 0:57Speaker 2: and when you're stubborn, it doesn't work very well. Well,
- 1:00Speaker 2: You've got to you've got to make sure that you
- 1:02Speaker 2: play the game that's presented and you know, tonight will
- 1:06Speaker 2: be no exception against Carolina.
- 1:08Speaker 1: You've got a ten game point street going right now.
- 1:10Speaker 1: These last ten games eight zero to two. Where do
- 1:13Speaker 1: you feel this team has improved the most from that
- 1:16Speaker 1: one to nine and one stretch you guys were on.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Uh, we are scoring goals, you know, And I think
- 1:22Speaker 2: that that's probably the biggest thing is the put is
- 1:26Speaker 2: finding the back of the net for us. And it's
- 1:30Speaker 2: not like we weren't having opportunities in that other stretch,
- 1:33Speaker 2: but we just weren't weren't find in the back of
- 1:35Speaker 2: the net as often as we are now.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Looking at the night's game, no Jordan Eberley, Potentially we'll
- 1:40Speaker 1: see no Chandler Stevenson as well. In the lineup, where
- 1:43Speaker 1: do you look for guys to step up and fill
- 1:45Speaker 1: those holes?
- 1:47Speaker 2: Well, we uh, you know, we have to have guys
- 1:50Speaker 2: come in and and you know, certainly our depth is
- 1:55Speaker 2: going to be important tonight. There's guys that were really
- 2:00Speaker 2: count on tonight, the Catons, the Rights. You know, our
- 2:04Speaker 2: fourth line will play hard. We need we need some
- 2:08Speaker 2: production from you know, our middle guys here if you
- 2:11Speaker 2: want to call it that. And you know that's basically
- 2:15Speaker 2: the bottom line got to step up.
- 2:17Speaker 1: I know you've talked about Berkeley Catton quite a bit
- 2:19Speaker 1: ever since he scored those first two goals as confidence
- 2:21Speaker 1: continuing to grow. Where have you seen his game the
- 2:24Speaker 1: last you know, seventy nine periods for him? Uh?
- 2:29Speaker 2: Well, I guess to your point, like you got a
- 2:31Speaker 2: couple of goals, you got some confidence, you know, And
- 2:35Speaker 2: I don't see his game really that much different than
- 2:40Speaker 2: what it was. I felt like he played with the
- 2:41Speaker 2: confidence prior to that. So you know, the one thing
- 2:47Speaker 2: about it is he has to continue to understand that.
- 2:50Speaker 2: You know, he's got to be responsible without the puck
- 2:53Speaker 2: as well.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Looking at Carolina, you mentioned earlier this week that when
- 2:56Speaker 1: you played a team like Boston, you're familiar with him,
- 2:58Speaker 1: you knew what to expect. But imagine the same thing
- 3:01Speaker 1: here for Carolina played them in the playoffs before. What
- 3:04Speaker 1: type of team is this that Rod Buildemore's Brent built,
- 3:09Speaker 1: and what do you want to see from your group
- 3:10Speaker 1: to help eliminate that.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Well, they're a team that has played the same way
- 3:14Speaker 2: for years. They are a high pressure team. This is
- 3:19Speaker 2: going to be the most pressure we'll see all year,
- 3:22Speaker 2: in my opinion, especially in this building. We're going to
- 3:26Speaker 2: have to handle that pressure. The first ten minutes of
- 3:29Speaker 2: this game are going to be critical. They like to
- 3:32Speaker 2: come out storm and it's a great building, great atmosphere,
- 3:35Speaker 2: and we've got to make sure that we understand that.
- 3:38Speaker 2: And you know we I would like to see us
- 3:44Speaker 2: overwhelm them with our speed and the way we play,
- 3:48Speaker 2: and that's going to be a huge piece of the
- 3:50Speaker 2: puzzle tonight is we've got to play faster.
