- 0:00Speaker 1: Mark Cunningham for Martha's Task here to help us kick
- 0:03Speaker 1: off springtime.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Yes, yes, great events coming up we do.
- 0:07Speaker 3: We're excited.
- 0:09Speaker 1: It's fun to hear about what's going on at Martha's staff.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Such a unique organization and one of those like you know,
- 0:16Speaker 1: we we've had a bunch on this spring We've talk
- 0:20Speaker 1: that are one offs Bartlesville's nonprofits.
- 0:23Speaker 2: These are like the independent.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Organizations that really sprang up here from the passion of
- 0:29Speaker 1: somebody with a special idea and wanted to help people.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Well, and that is Martha's Task. We are truly unique.
- 0:37Speaker 4: We help low income women with sewing and crafting programs
- 0:40Speaker 4: so they can make an income. And there's not too
- 0:43Speaker 4: many places like us.
- 0:46Speaker 1: It's an inspiration and it took somebody I'm sure that
- 0:50Speaker 1: had that idea and just wanted to help people.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Oh absolutely, that may be my key in here us.
- 0:57Speaker 2: A little bit about.
- 1:00Speaker 4: So we were founded in the basement of Saint James
- 1:03Speaker 4: Catholic Church actually twenty five years ago, so we've got
- 1:07Speaker 4: our twenty fifth anniversary coming up. There was a woman
- 1:11Speaker 4: named Susan Murphy and she just kept running on to
- 1:14Speaker 4: low income women that were in crisis and needed help
- 1:18Speaker 4: needed to be able to work, but we're not really
- 1:20Speaker 4: in the perfect place for a regular job market, so
- 1:24Speaker 4: she was just really thinking what can we do, what
- 1:27Speaker 4: can we do? And about that time somebody donated a
- 1:30Speaker 4: bunch of sewing machines to the church and a program
- 1:34Speaker 4: was born, and then we became an independent nonprofit where
- 1:36Speaker 4: we were teaching women to sew, and then moved into
- 1:39Speaker 4: teaching people to do crafts so they could make an
- 1:42Speaker 4: income for emergency needs or long term needs.
- 1:45Speaker 2: And you have a shop where you sew.
- 1:47Speaker 3: This we do.
- 1:49Speaker 2: We do.
- 1:49Speaker 4: Our store is at seven eighteen South Johnstone and we're
- 1:53Speaker 4: open nine to four Monday through Friday, and we have
- 1:56Speaker 4: lots of really beautiful gifts, so it is a great
- 1:59Speaker 4: place to come and off.
- 2:00Speaker 1: And you've got a big event coming up later this month,
- 2:03Speaker 1: I know several over the next few but tell us
- 2:07Speaker 1: about what's going on for the person.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Analogy Personality So it's kind of a unique name, but
- 2:17Speaker 4: as you might figure or not figure.
- 2:19Speaker 3: It's a purse auction and also.
- 2:22Speaker 4: A high tea awesome. So that is going to be
- 2:24Speaker 4: April twenty sixth. New location this year where at Bartleswell
- 2:28Speaker 4: First United Methodist Church and it's going to be from
- 2:32Speaker 4: one to three on that Saturday, April twenty sixth, and
- 2:35Speaker 4: people come and have the best time.
- 2:38Speaker 2: So it's like a fun time.
- 2:39Speaker 3: They come and wear their hats.
- 2:42Speaker 4: It's not required, but we have so many people that
- 2:44Speaker 4: come in fancy hats that we have.
- 2:46Speaker 3: A hat contest.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Yes, of course, of course. So we have lots of
- 2:50Speaker 4: goodies to eat and people were in their hats and
- 2:52Speaker 4: then they get to bid on these amazing purses that
- 2:55Speaker 4: are made from seamstresses just all around the United States.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Actually some of them are low and some are from Alaska,
- 3:02Speaker 4: you know, Iowa, Kansas.
- 3:04Speaker 3: It's really wonderful.
- 3:06Speaker 1: That's great, that's awesome to hear. That's coming up on
- 3:10Speaker 1: April twenty six one to three pm at First United
- 3:13Speaker 1: Methodist Church and we'll come back to that. There's so
- 3:16Speaker 1: much other stuff going on. It's that time of year
- 3:18Speaker 1: in Bartlesville. There's stuff. Just tonight. We've got we had
- 3:22Speaker 1: blair on last week from the Bartlesville Public School Foundation.
- 3:26Speaker 2: A Ruin of the Year at Dungeon Stadium. Ruins of
- 3:30Speaker 2: the Year tonight.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Oh well, that's a special event.
- 3:33Speaker 2: It is a great event.
- 3:34Speaker 1: We're going to honor the Teacher of the Year, the
- 3:37Speaker 1: Rising Star of the Year, Classified Person of the Year,
- 3:41Speaker 1: it goes on and on, Substitute of the Year, all
- 3:43Speaker 1: get honored and it's a great time. It's a no
- 3:46Speaker 1: cost event and you can vote on the fan favorite teacher,
- 3:51Speaker 1: so it's a great event. In you.
- 3:52Speaker 2: There's lots of sacks.
- 3:54Speaker 1: And stuff for free and lots of fund out there
- 3:56Speaker 1: at Dungeon Stadium tonight, so people might want to check
- 3:59Speaker 1: that out too.
- 4:00Speaker 2: And we're just getting.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Into that springtime season where there's just lots of events
- 4:05Speaker 1: going on.
- 4:06Speaker 4: You can find a couple of things every day or
- 4:08Speaker 4: night to get you. Yeah, you won't be bored.
- 4:11Speaker 2: It has been really busy out of the dealership too.
- 4:14Speaker 1: We've had lots of interest in what's happening with all
- 4:18Speaker 1: this crazy news about the tariffs, and you know, I
- 4:21Speaker 1: think that truthfully, nothing has really changed that much yet.
- 4:24Speaker 2: We're seeing some rise and used.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Car values, where as you know, people are anticipating what
- 4:30Speaker 1: might happen, but those so far, none of the Twitter
- 4:33Speaker 1: prices have gone up. We're selling everything just like we
- 4:37Speaker 1: have always have with our Dungeon simple price and keeping
- 4:41Speaker 1: it simple and straightforward with our customers, and we got
- 4:44Speaker 1: a great selection right now. I've got some more wrap
- 4:48Speaker 1: fours coming this week. We got four or five more
- 4:50Speaker 1: of those allocated. We've got a beautiful new Sequalia in yesterday.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I think that one may already be spoken for, But
- 4:57Speaker 1: great selection right now. Vehicles like are Tundras, the Tacomas.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I know, we've got a couple of Siennas that are coming, Highlander, Camray, Corolla, Corolla, Cross,
- 5:08Speaker 1: goes on and on. So what Toyota keeps telling us
- 5:12Speaker 1: is they're going to keep shipping all their vehicles.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Obviously, Toyota's builds.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Cars all over the world, and many are built right
- 5:19Speaker 1: here in America. The Camra, Corolla, Corollacross, Highlander, Grand Highlander,
- 5:25Speaker 1: rab Force, Aquahia, Tunder, and Senna are all primarily put
- 5:28Speaker 1: together here in America. So well, you'll hopefully be a
- 5:32Speaker 1: little bit shielded from the effects of terraffs if they
- 5:34Speaker 1: do materialize and start to affect things. But there's been
- 5:38Speaker 1: a lot of anticipation of that and people are coming
- 5:43Speaker 1: out and.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Chopping for cars.
- 5:45Speaker 1: So it's definitely a good time to buy if you're
- 5:48Speaker 1: going to need a car over the next few period.
- 5:50Speaker 1: With all the next period, with all the uncertainty. I
- 5:53Speaker 1: think it might make sense to look now. We just
- 5:58Speaker 1: don't know what's going to happen. And you know another
- 6:01Speaker 1: thing I keep hearing from folks. We've had a couple
- 6:03Speaker 1: of people in the store and I saw someone a
- 6:06Speaker 1: quick trip that you know, We're.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Like, well, I thought you sold the store, and you know,
- 6:11Speaker 2: Toyota has still done. Just so I want people to
- 6:13Speaker 2: know that it's done.
- 6:15Speaker 1: We're truly one of the few true family owned car
- 6:19Speaker 1: dealerships anymore. We just have one dealership. We serve one community.
- 6:24Speaker 1: We don't want looking to expand and sell cars everywhere.
- 6:27Speaker 1: We really want to be a true family business and
- 6:31Speaker 1: take care of the local people, serving local people, keep
- 6:35Speaker 1: it fast, transparent, and feel good. Just because we're small
- 6:38Speaker 1: and not a big corporate dealer doesn't mean we're not
- 6:42Speaker 1: looking to always be changing and keeping up with the
- 6:44Speaker 1: times and being the best we can be.
- 6:46Speaker 2: And it's our.
- 6:47Speaker 1: People do a great job with that, and we do.
- 6:50Speaker 1: We're proud to be still with the Toyota brand. It's
- 6:53Speaker 1: been a great transition as we've moved fully into that
- 6:57Speaker 1: and focused on Toyota. It's going to be a great
- 7:02Speaker 1: thing and to help us keep serving our community for
- 7:05Speaker 1: many years to come.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Well, you all are excellent at serving your community, So
- 7:09Speaker 4: we're glad you're here.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Thank you, Laura appreciate that very much.
- 7:13Speaker 1: And I know you guys do so much at Martha's
- 7:16Speaker 1: Task and you know you're helping people every day get
- 7:18Speaker 1: a foothold on their lives. And you know, we call
- 7:23Speaker 1: that inspiration at the dealership, Sparks and our community. That's
- 7:29Speaker 1: kind of a theme I think both at the dealership
- 7:31Speaker 1: and in Bartlesville is that the partnerships or you create
- 7:35Speaker 1: the community does and how it helps people and lifts
- 7:37Speaker 1: them up. And you know that inspiration you talked about
- 7:40Speaker 1: twenty five years ago, creating.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Martha's Task to help people.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I know that's kind of what's undoubtedly drawing you into
- 7:47Speaker 1: it now you've been associated with them for a number
- 7:50Speaker 1: of years.
- 7:51Speaker 4: I have been there almost ten years. Hard to believe so,
- 7:55Speaker 4: but it's very rewarding, it really is. You see people
- 7:57Speaker 4: come in broken and upset, and they just kind of
- 8:01Speaker 4: transform as they learn to do things, even if they're
- 8:04Speaker 4: just there for three hours and they're working and you know,
- 8:07Speaker 4: focusing on putting colors together on a greeting card. Then
- 8:10Speaker 4: they forget their troubles and they're making money, but they're
- 8:13Speaker 4: also getting.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Art therapy, so it's really fabulous.
- 8:16Speaker 4: And then when you see people who like work their
- 8:19Speaker 4: way out of living in a car or being on
- 8:21Speaker 4: the streets and now they have a place to be
- 8:24Speaker 4: and stay and support themselves, that's even more wonderful. Wow.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sure that that's incredible to see when you're
- 8:30Speaker 1: involved in that. Well, so tell us a little about
- 8:33Speaker 1: how do people find get involved and how I mean
- 8:36Speaker 1: we're both from a you know, if there's somebody who.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Needs to help, what how do they get to you?
- 8:42Speaker 3: Right?
- 8:43Speaker 4: So, well, a lot of times we see people through
- 8:46Speaker 4: referrals from you know, Grand Mental Health, Lighthouse, different organizations
- 8:52Speaker 4: in town. Also, there are people that find us through
- 8:55Speaker 4: word of mouth on the street. They can stop by
- 9:00Speaker 4: a lot of times people will just stop buy our
- 9:02Speaker 4: office and say I want to know more about you,
- 9:04Speaker 4: either for volunteering or for working.
- 9:07Speaker 3: They can call us.
- 9:08Speaker 4: They can find us on all social media Facebook, Twitter,
- 9:13Speaker 4: now x I guess and Instagram. We have a website,
- 9:17Speaker 4: Martha's Task dot com. So yeah, any way that we
- 9:21Speaker 4: can find people needing help and wanting to plug in,
- 9:24Speaker 4: We're glad to have them there.
- 9:25Speaker 2: And I'm sure you mentioned volunteers. I'm sure you really need.
- 9:29Speaker 2: You can't do this alone, right right.
- 9:32Speaker 4: You know, we have people that come in and will
- 9:34Speaker 4: volunteer just to answer the phones, you know, or they
- 9:38Speaker 4: might help with teaching, sewing or crafting. We also love
- 9:42Speaker 4: to have volunteers just for our events. You know, maybe
- 9:46Speaker 4: somebody wants to help but they don't have a lot
- 9:49Speaker 4: of time, but they can come help with our Personality
- 9:53Speaker 4: or our Marty Garras party, or they can come to
- 9:56Speaker 4: our twenty fifth anniversary party which is going to be
- 9:59Speaker 4: June twelfth, and set up with that and serve people.
- 10:02Speaker 4: And we're just always glad to have people get involved
- 10:05Speaker 4: for however long they're available.
- 10:07Speaker 1: And being an independent nonprofit, I mean you must. You've
- 10:10Speaker 1: got to raise money to support your cause too, and
- 10:13Speaker 1: so these events are really important.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I'm sure for.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Fundraising they are.
- 10:17Speaker 4: We are entirely funded by private dollars. So yeah, it's
- 10:21Speaker 4: it's donations, grants and events.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 10:25Speaker 1: And so tell us more about the twenty fifth anniversary event.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Why do you have plan?
- 10:31Speaker 4: Okay, so our twenty fifth anniversary we're going to do
- 10:33Speaker 4: at Martha's task so people can come in and see
- 10:36Speaker 4: what we do. It's going to be a lou Ou theme, okay,
- 10:40Speaker 4: but it's in the daytime, so not too wild. We're
- 10:44Speaker 4: going to have mocktails and Hawaiian type foods, and we've
- 10:49Speaker 4: got my clients have been working on some really cool
- 10:51Speaker 4: tropical themed merchandise and decorations for it, and we're just
- 10:55Speaker 4: going to have a good time and celebrate the twenty
- 10:58Speaker 4: five years that we've been here and you know, hopefully
- 11:00Speaker 4: many more to come.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Awesome, and I mean the the enterprise of what you do,
- 11:05Speaker 1: the selling of the stuff, how much of that makes
- 11:09Speaker 1: up for your budget.
- 11:12Speaker 4: Well, a lot of people don't realize this, but we
- 11:15Speaker 4: actually give one percent of the profits of everything that
- 11:19Speaker 4: our seamstresses make to the seamstress so that they can.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Help make an income.
- 11:23Speaker 4: We have a couple of people that are volunteers that
- 11:26Speaker 4: like to sew and they donate items to us for
- 11:29Speaker 4: us to sell and that helps keep the lights on.
- 11:31Speaker 1: You know, it's not that much from that, right If
- 11:35Speaker 1: you looked at new ways to sell things, I mean
- 11:37Speaker 1: like online and that stuff, is that possible?
- 11:40Speaker 2: You know?
- 11:40Speaker 3: We tried that.
- 11:41Speaker 4: It was my time, Okay, so it was a model
- 11:44Speaker 4: that didn't work for us because we have beginner seamstresses
- 11:49Speaker 4: and people would go online and they'd see like say
- 11:52Speaker 4: an OSU apron and they'd say, I want three of
- 11:55Speaker 4: those next week.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Well, we couldn't do it.
- 11:57Speaker 4: We didn't have both either the skill set or sometimes
- 12:00Speaker 4: a fabric to do what they wanted to do, and
- 12:03Speaker 4: so it just wasn't going to work for us. But
- 12:05Speaker 4: people can go look on our and they do regularly
- 12:08Speaker 4: look on our Facebook, and or they can call us
- 12:11Speaker 4: up and say, you know, I want some you know,
- 12:14Speaker 4: I want some microwave bowls sent to you know, Iowa.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Can you do that for me? And we say sure,
- 12:20Speaker 3: so it is possible.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Yes, And you mentioned you've got the sports themed aprons and.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Things like that we do.
- 12:27Speaker 4: We have, we have collegiate items, we have NFL items,
- 12:30Speaker 4: and sometimes people will bring us fabric from you know,
- 12:33Speaker 4: someplace that we don't have that might not be as regional,
- 12:36Speaker 4: and we'll make stuff for them. We do custom orders too,
- 12:38Speaker 4: so awesome.
- 12:40Speaker 1: And yeah, I know, let's go back. I know you've
- 12:43Speaker 1: got this other event coming up right away.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Here the the.
- 12:49Speaker 1: What was it called the Personality And it's a high
- 12:52Speaker 1: t and a perse sale, a perse auction benefiting margins task.
- 12:58Speaker 1: You've got how many persons will there be? Do you
- 13:01Speaker 1: have any idea?
- 13:01Speaker 4: They are still coming in, but I'm going to guess
- 13:04Speaker 4: about twenty purses. And then we have other items too
- 13:07Speaker 4: that people make. We have an amazing quilt that one
- 13:09Speaker 4: of our seamstresses made for us.
- 13:11Speaker 2: And are their tickets involved?
- 13:12Speaker 3: There are tickets.
- 13:13Speaker 4: You could go to event bright to get those, or
- 13:15Speaker 4: you can call our office and get those awesome.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Well that is on April twenty six, because coming up
- 13:21Speaker 1: in another a couple of weeks one to three pm.
- 13:24Speaker 1: And you can check that out at your website. What
- 13:28Speaker 1: is the url?
- 13:31Speaker 3: Well, Martha's tast dot com is our website.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Yes, okay, great, And so I mentioned all the stuff
- 13:38Speaker 1: going on at the dealership. Another thing I wanted to
- 13:41Speaker 1: mention is our great use car selection.
- 13:43Speaker 2: We've got a.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Number of vehicles that we've been out buying, Toyotas and
- 13:49Speaker 1: non Toyotas, great lower cost vehicles. There's a less expensive
- 13:54Speaker 1: Jarus at Toyota Yaris. It's got a few miles on it,
- 13:57Speaker 1: it's under five thousand dollars. We've got great selection of
- 14:02Speaker 1: vehicles all the way from that RS up to BMW SUV.
- 14:07Speaker 1: So you can check all that out on our website
- 14:09Speaker 1: at DUNGEUS Toyota dot com and you can shop there
- 14:13Speaker 1: for new and used vehicles. You can go in get
- 14:17Speaker 1: a vehicle history report, pictures, all kinds of all kinds
- 14:24Speaker 1: of sorry about that, I had a phone call come in,
- 14:27Speaker 1: but information. You can play with your deal. So just
- 14:30Speaker 1: like the sales manager does. When you ask the salesman, well,
- 14:33Speaker 1: how do what's my payment? If I put so much down?
- 14:37Speaker 1: Or if I take the interest rate instead of the rebate,
- 14:40Speaker 1: you know, how does that affect my payment? You can
- 14:42Speaker 1: do that all right on your at home, on your
- 14:45Speaker 1: computer or your phone. Take our Dunge just simple price,
- 14:49Speaker 1: apply the rebates and incentives that are eligible for that
- 14:52Speaker 1: vehicle and that you qualify for, and it helps you
- 14:55Speaker 1: calculate the place you can play, change your term of
- 15:00Speaker 1: the loan. You can actually play value your trade, do
- 15:05Speaker 1: the put your credit in, get an actual interest rate
- 15:10Speaker 1: from a finance institution. So just trying to keep it
- 15:13Speaker 1: simple and as we said, fast, transparent and feel good
- 15:17Speaker 1: so that you really enjoy.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Buying a car. I know our.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Team of our team of really great team of local
- 15:26Speaker 1: people that sell cars there. They are all non commissioned,
- 15:29Speaker 1: salaried sales professionals. They do really take your best interest
- 15:34Speaker 1: in heart in selling you the car. They really it
- 15:36Speaker 1: really doesn't matter to them which car you purchase or
- 15:40Speaker 1: how much money we might make selling it. Some cars
- 15:42Speaker 1: are in high demand and then they are going to
- 15:45Speaker 1: bring more money, and some cars are less expensive, and
- 15:49Speaker 1: you know, in some card times we lose money selling
- 15:52Speaker 1: cars and that shouldn't affect the salesperson, I.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Don't think, and I think it kind of.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Puts them in an awkward position where they might direct
- 16:00Speaker 1: somebody to a vehicle that isn't maybe the perfect situation
- 16:05Speaker 1: for them. Our team does not have any of that
- 16:09Speaker 1: going on. Everybody's paid a salary and really proud of that,
- 16:13Speaker 1: you know, for almost four generations here in Bartlesville, over
- 16:16Speaker 1: eight decades of selling cars in Oklahoma, and really proud
- 16:20Speaker 1: to be a part of this local community and with
- 16:23Speaker 1: things like Martha's task here, so twenty five years, I mean,
- 16:29Speaker 1: that's a long time to be sewing in Bartlesville.
- 16:34Speaker 3: And it is, it is, it really is. It's amazing
- 16:37Speaker 3: that we're here.
- 16:38Speaker 1: It is, and what so you started in that in
- 16:41Speaker 1: a church and part of the what was it Saint James.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Yes, yes, in Saint James.
- 16:47Speaker 1: And it has and you have a great Marty Gath
- 16:49Speaker 1: party every year too.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I've been a number of those.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a.
- 16:53Speaker 3: That's a good fundraiser for us, and it's lots of funds.
- 16:56Speaker 1: And that's always the weekend around Marti Gras it is.
- 17:00Speaker 1: So you just concluded that, and you've got the Personality
- 17:04Speaker 1: event coming up and your twenty fifth anniversary event in June,
- 17:08Speaker 1: and is there other stuff coming on You've got I mean,
- 17:11Speaker 1: you've exhausted your board, but I know, I.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Know, I mean you might think that I just like
- 17:17Speaker 4: to throw parties. Well very quick after our June twelfth
- 17:21Speaker 4: birthday party, we have our Christmas in July, which will
- 17:24Speaker 4: be you know obviously in July, and then we will
- 17:28Speaker 4: have our open house at November.
- 17:30Speaker 3: So so lots of getting on all year long.
- 17:33Speaker 1: And if you're interested in finding out more, I just
- 17:36Speaker 1: encourage people to go on down to the shop and
- 17:40Speaker 1: maybe purchase something or come to your event here weekend
- 17:43Speaker 1: after next. So great to have you here with us
- 17:47Speaker 1: and tell us more about Martha's task and the great
- 17:51Speaker 1: stuff going on there.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Well, thank you so much Shred for having me.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I really appreciate and you know that your event, first
- 17:59Speaker 1: one coming up on April twenty sixth I mentioned the
- 18:03Speaker 1: Harley Party is also that night. We have also another
- 18:06Speaker 1: great event with Concerned Bingo Night, another great one of
- 18:11Speaker 1: those organizations that started organically.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Here in Bartlesville through the church.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Community and is still helping people in Bartlesville decades later.
- 18:21Speaker 1: And then we have right after that on May third,
- 18:24Speaker 1: the Farmers Market will open up and elder Care is good,
- 18:28Speaker 1: the bad the Barbecue is on May tenth. Getting excited
- 18:31Speaker 1: for that again out at the Huge Ranch, and if
- 18:34Speaker 1: folks haven't been out out there, or if they haven't
- 18:37Speaker 1: been out in a few years, you want to get
- 18:40Speaker 1: your tickets for that. I've just now got on my
- 18:43Speaker 1: radar the Sizzling Summer Series which is coming up again
- 18:48Speaker 1: this summer down at the Unity Square, and we'll be
- 18:53Speaker 1: out there helping them out and really should be a
- 18:56Speaker 1: good event or season this year. I know they their
- 19:00Speaker 1: first one on May sixteenth, and they once again got
- 19:04Speaker 1: three music nights planned and two movie nights and lots
- 19:07Speaker 1: of stuff planned out. If you want to go out
- 19:10Speaker 1: and hang out downtown. And then SunFest is right around
- 19:15Speaker 1: the corner too, at the end of May May thirtieth
- 19:17Speaker 1: and June first, and between now and then we'll be
- 19:20Speaker 1: having baseball tryouts at the American Legion and getting the
- 19:25Speaker 1: Dungeons Indians going again, and lots of great stuff going
- 19:29Speaker 1: on in Barshool this time of year into school.
- 19:32Speaker 2: It's just crazy, isn't it.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Tis the season It's wonderful.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:37Speaker 1: So, and I've guessed that I've noticed it's been off
- 19:40Speaker 1: of busy in our service department too, out at the
- 19:42Speaker 1: dealership this week, especially in the mornings.
- 19:45Speaker 2: I don't know what it is, tom but people have
- 19:47Speaker 2: been getting up.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Early, I guess and coming out and getting their vehicle service.
- 19:52Speaker 2: But looks like if you might come in the afternoon if.
- 19:55Speaker 1: You want to flipping it out. So what else there's
- 20:02Speaker 1: If you do want to schedule your appointment, you can
- 20:05Speaker 1: also do that on our website.
- 20:07Speaker 2: It's easy to do that. Go in, put your time
- 20:09Speaker 2: in it.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Actually we've got we know what what parts are there,
- 20:14Speaker 1: and techs are available, and it's easy to schedule, and
- 20:17Speaker 1: that way they really get you in and out quicker
- 20:20Speaker 1: that way too. If you've got your appointment scheduled. It
- 20:22Speaker 1: it does help them be a little bit more efficient.
- 20:27Speaker 1: There is a lot of other stuff going on at
- 20:30Speaker 1: the dealership. We've got Mike and the team and the
- 20:32Speaker 1: body shop. I was talking to him the other day
- 20:36Speaker 1: and they've got you know, they continue to be one
- 20:38Speaker 1: of the fastest shops with the quickest turnaround time in
- 20:42Speaker 1: the area. And we hear that both from our insurance
- 20:46Speaker 1: partners that that you know, we work with virtually all
- 20:49Speaker 1: insurance companies. We're the only OEM body shop in town now.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Our team is really proud to be highly trained. They
- 20:58Speaker 1: do by shop specific training that they're gold certified and
- 21:04Speaker 1: it's a really great program. These are guys who really
- 21:07Speaker 1: take great pride in putting your car back together in
- 21:10Speaker 1: the best way possible.
- 21:11Speaker 2: And you know, if you're in a situation like.
- 21:14Speaker 1: That, you want to be able to work with somebody
- 21:17Speaker 1: that's going to help you understand the difference between different
- 21:20Speaker 1: parts and how they're putting putting your car back together.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Some insurance companies will want to use used parts, which
- 21:28Speaker 1: are great. It just depends on the vehicle and how
- 21:31Speaker 1: old it is and what and what's going on with
- 21:34Speaker 1: the repair. So there's just a lot to consider, and
- 21:39Speaker 1: that our team does a great job of that work
- 21:42Speaker 1: closely with your insurance company, tries to get it done
- 21:44Speaker 1: quickly so you're don't have a lot of downtime. And
- 21:48Speaker 1: it's a great uh they really, you know, with our
- 21:51Speaker 1: parts department ability to get those parts quickly and get
- 21:55Speaker 1: them your car back on the road. I think that's
- 21:57Speaker 1: the big difference we have. And hear that all all
- 22:00Speaker 1: the time from our customers and the insurance people we
- 22:03Speaker 1: work with. And so you might want to give Mike
- 22:06Speaker 1: or and Twain a call out there at the body
- 22:08Speaker 1: shop if you're needing that kind of work. And also
- 22:12Speaker 1: I was talking to John Kitchell, who runs our detail
- 22:16Speaker 1: shop down at a Dungeons truck ranch where we park
- 22:20Speaker 1: some nice vehicles sometimes when they get first get into town.
- 22:23Speaker 1: But John and the team are great, really do a
- 22:26Speaker 1: great job cleaning all our cars. Plus they'll clean yours.
- 22:30Speaker 1: If you need a detail, they're there for you. We've
- 22:33Speaker 1: got a call us at the dealership and we can
- 22:35Speaker 1: make arrangements for that at nine eight three three three
- 22:38Speaker 1: nine hundred, and you can ask any questions about any
- 22:41Speaker 1: of this stuff we've talked about newer used vehicles, service,
- 22:45Speaker 1: the body shop if you need parts and accessories, detail,
- 22:50Speaker 1: full service, automotive, just whatever you.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Need, so get to know.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Well, thank you, and we've got just a few minutes
- 22:58Speaker 1: left and let's let's back through all this stuff going
- 23:01Speaker 1: on at Martha's Task.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Okay, Well, we have our personality coming up April twenty
- 23:08Speaker 4: six and it really is a lot of fun. I
- 23:11Speaker 4: will say. One thing we haven't talked about is a
- 23:13Speaker 4: lot of people like to bring their daughters or granddaughters.
- 23:16Speaker 4: So we have a developed a kid's hat contest as well,
- 23:21Speaker 4: so that the little girls can get up on the
- 23:23Speaker 4: stage and model their beautiful creations.
- 23:27Speaker 3: And that is so much fun.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Then yes, So that is April twenty sixth, one to

- 23:55Speaker 4: A kind purse exactly exactly. It's and and visit your friends.
- 24:00Speaker 4: I mean a lot of people. I sold my first
- 24:03Speaker 4: table for the tea in December. Oh really because a
- 24:05Speaker 4: lot of people like to get together with their friends
- 24:08Speaker 4: and have that table and just have that whole tea
- 24:10Speaker 4: party experience.
- 24:12Speaker 3: So it's it's pretty popular. We have a.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Following cool And then coming up in June, your twenty
- 24:20Speaker 1: fifth anniversary.
- 24:21Speaker 4: Twenty fifth anniversary, that is going to be We're going

- 24:30Speaker 4: come and have a you know, have a good time
- 24:32Speaker 4: to do the Luau thing with us and just celebrate
- 24:37Speaker 4: all that we you know, all the lives that we
- 24:39Speaker 4: have touched through the years, all that we've accomplished, and
- 24:42Speaker 4: just all the people that were grateful for that celebrated
- 24:46Speaker 4: us or you know, built us up through the years,
- 24:48Speaker 4: that helped us do this work.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Well, and let's talk about the work again.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I think we kind of went past that, but that's
- 24:55Speaker 1: what's so inspirational. Wow, you do lifting people up that
- 24:59Speaker 1: really need the help, and talk again about the main
- 25:02Speaker 1: cause and purpose of what you do.
- 25:04Speaker 4: Well, the main cause and purpose is to help women
- 25:07Speaker 4: become self sufficient, independent and able to support themselves.
- 25:12Speaker 3: And we have people that are coming in.
- 25:15Speaker 4: They're all at the federal poverty level and below, so
- 25:18Speaker 4: they're you know, really living a marginalized lifestyle. And some
- 25:23Speaker 4: of them are really really have nothing. They're homeless. They
- 25:27Speaker 4: might be coming out of domestic violence or just some
- 25:30Speaker 4: difficult situation and so being able to come in and
- 25:34Speaker 4: work in our crafting program and you know, just a
- 25:38Speaker 4: chance to make some money and you know, support themselves
- 25:42Speaker 4: a little bit. You know, if they're if they're homeless,
- 25:45Speaker 4: that might be the money that pays for you know,
- 25:48Speaker 4: their food for the day, or for you know, the
- 25:50Speaker 4: socks to put on their feet, you know. Or it
- 25:53Speaker 4: might be for someone that's living in a house, the
- 25:56Speaker 4: money they need to buy their child's rip or to
- 26:01Speaker 4: pay a utility bill so they're electricity doesn't get cut off.
- 26:04Speaker 3: You know, we work with those kind of situations all
- 26:06Speaker 3: the time.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Awesome, Well, it's very inspirational, and thank you for what
- 26:10Speaker 1: you do, and good luck on the events coming up

- 26:27Speaker 1: Bartlesville and sustained by Bartlesville people, and it's so impactful
- 26:34Speaker 1: on the people that need it the most.
- 26:36Speaker 4: And we're really grateful for all of our volunteers and
- 26:39Speaker 4: all of our board members. I'm so grateful for my board.

- 26:58Speaker 1: and excited to see him.
- 27:00Speaker 2: But I'll be back in a couple of weeks.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I think we we tracked down my friend who built
- 27:05Speaker 1: the trails out at at at the lake out at
- 27:07Speaker 1: the Hudson Lake and have him on there and find out,
