- 0:18Hello and welcome to the Disney Pod.
- 0:21It is March 17th, 2026. Lawrence is in full Saint
- 0:29Patrick's Green. I am not.
- 0:32I, I don't know. I don't, I don't know I, I don't
- 0:36know. I just, I don't do that that
- 0:37much and I'm actually Irish. Are you Irish too?
- 0:41I'm not, but I'm Catholic, so there you go.
- 0:45Kind of goes along with it so. There you go.
- 0:48I wasn't quite from Selfie Boston, but I was South of
- 0:53Southie so. And I had to go to the office
- 0:56today so figured I would I would play the part.
- 1:00There you go, and make sure you don't get pinched right.
- 1:02That's right. That's right, that's right.
- 1:04Did you guys do that in school? Yes, yes, yeah.
- 1:09So let us know the comments below or in the chat if you've
- 1:13been pinched for not wearing green.
- 1:15We do this live because we do it for you.
- 1:17So hello chat, great to see you all on this evening and we also
- 1:22appreciate anyway you listen or watch Spotify, Amazon, Apple and
- 1:27iHeartRadio. Go ahead.
- 1:30And we love that you support us there as well.
- 1:34Woke up to a little bit of a chill this morning which
- 1:37surprised me. Didn't see that coming and it
- 1:40remained slightly chilly but so beautiful today.
- 1:44It was, you're right, it was a beautiful day here too.
- 1:47I can still see the sun shining outside the window there.
- 1:51But yes, when I got up this morning, it was 29.
- 1:59And I think when I by the time I got in the car, I was like 3032
- 2:03or so. It never got above 50 I don't
- 2:07think. OK.
- 2:10Just crazy. Yep, old man, Winter's not ready
- 2:15to let go yet. No 4045 currently right now.
- 2:22OK. All right.
- 2:25It is vacation week for Orlando schools, so park times are up
- 2:31there. I saw Tron at like 140 a little
- 2:34while ago at 1:20 to 1:40, so you know.
- 2:41Yeah, I saw some, I didn't see anything that high, but I did
- 2:45see some pretty high wait times. And I was like, Oh yeah, that's
- 2:49right. A lot of people out of out of
- 2:52school and on vacation out there.
- 2:54So yeah, yeah, be if you, if you're going to the parks or if
- 2:58you're in the parks, be prepared for some crazy wait times.
- 3:04Yeah, we're going to the park on Thursday for a Family Day.
- 3:09And I would say that I've been kind of studying islands and
- 3:13universal. And I think the best strategy to
- 3:16attack that is to get there at rope drop and hit islands first,
- 3:20the two big big boy coasters for it to be A to set the stage for
- 3:24a successful day on both sides. So that's that's the working
- 3:29plan right now for that. So hey, we're talking movies
- 3:35today. And as you know, it's one of my
- 3:38favorite things to do and right up my alley.
- 3:42Movies, music and parks, all that good stuff.
- 3:48You know, I hate to bring this word up, but it just comes up
- 3:52because it's just implanted in our history and our brains now.
- 3:55But I'll the COVID word, you know, when that hit and things
- 4:01shut down, everything I loved to do, I couldn't do, couldn't go
- 4:07to the parks. All at once.
- 4:09Couldn't go to the movies. Couldn't watch.
- 4:12No, it was like this. It was like, OK, oh, oh, we
- 4:15can't go to the parks. OK.
- 4:17Oh, well, hey, we'll just go to the movies more.
- 4:20All right, wait a minute. We can't go to the movies.
- 4:22OK, well, oh, we have to stay home.
- 4:24All right, I'll just kick back and I'll watch sports.
- 4:27Oh, wait a minute. They're not doing that either.
- 4:30It's everything. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:33But movies, movies, movies, movies is a fun topic.
- 4:38Did you watch the Oscars on Sunday night?
- 4:42I did not watch a bit of them, did you?
- 4:44What? I was trying to do the old I
- 4:47can't even do it. I can't even do it.
- 4:51Yes, yes, I had low expectations for the enjoyment piece because
- 5:00I didn't know much about the Best picture nominees.
- 5:05But I will say. That's.
- 5:08The problem so but I just love watching with the family.
- 5:13Just, you know, it was it was it was family time well spent.
- 5:16Jacob really enjoys it. I love that he I'm enjoying
- 5:21enjoying movies through his eyes 'cause he just love he has a
- 5:25passion for movies like I do like he's, you know, let us know
- 5:28and chat. Are you the person that just
- 5:29gets up right after, right as soon as the credits hit in a
- 5:34film, or do you sit and appreciate the soundtrack and
- 5:37just kind of soak it all in and, and come back from, from, from
- 5:41fantasy and back to reality? Like we need that cool down.
- 5:45We, we, we just immerse ourselves in it so much.
- 5:47And then we, yeah, that's us. Like we enjoy every second of a
- 5:51film right down to the final, final words to go up the screen.
- 5:57So yeah, he really enjoys the the Oscars too.
- 6:02So we made sure we watched it all the way through.
- 6:05Now just on the Oscars itself, and I would probably say it was
- 6:10probably, it was probably like AC for me.
- 6:18You know, there wasn't anything too funny.
- 6:20Conan was OK couple couple of good jokes, but besides that,
- 6:26not too much. And Disney wasn't wasn't
- 6:29represented very much this year, but that happens.
- 6:33You, you know, it's probably one of their lower years.
- 6:35I don't know, maybe not because I'm sure there's, there's been
- 6:38years of just one. The thing is though, right what
- 6:41I'm thinking, we're talking animation, but anything live
- 6:44action. Just I don't know it it's feels
- 6:46like it's been a while since something live action like
- 6:49Disney puts out many movies a year but hardly any make it up
- 6:53for Oscars. Sure, if you really.
- 6:55Think about it. I'm this is unfolding in my
- 6:57brain as we talking about it right now.
- 6:59Yeah. Interesting, right, 'cause we
- 7:03know they make very high quality films.
- 7:07And you know what's interesting? I had to check on that 'cause I
- 7:13I knew there was a change coming up as we sit here broadcasting
- 7:16on YouTube on, on four different streams, horizontal and
- 7:25vertical, on Parkviews and living in biz and Facebook.
- 7:29But Speaking of YouTube, the Oscars are set to be on ABC
- 7:35through 2028, and then in 2029 they moved to YouTube.
- 7:42How about that? They will be on YouTube, not
- 7:46network TV. Sunday night in February, March,
- 7:51whenever they've been on as they've been in for like 93
- 7:55years or something like that, they will move to YouTube.
- 8:00Shows you the power of YouTube, right?
- 8:03Times are changing and more people, as you know, are
- 8:06watching YouTube on televisions. I haven't said the word
- 8:09television in probably 30 years, but they're, they're doing that
- 8:13and it's, it's, we're slowly getting there, right?
- 8:18We're, we're just network TV, just broadcast TV is, is losing
- 8:23to stream streaming networks. And you know, YouTube's probably
- 8:27the one that's leading the way on that.
- 8:29And we have YouTube TV and I don't see myself going anywhere
- 8:34else unless circumstances change.
- 8:37I, I, I like what they offer. They offer what we need and it's
- 8:41a, it's a decent price. So, OK, that's pretty cool.
- 8:44So we'll join the Oscars in 2029.
- 8:47Do you think they'd appreciate if I was like, live in the parks
- 8:50on that Sunday? And then I send I, we send our,
- 8:52we send our people. Over.
- 8:53Send them over. That's right.
- 8:54That's right. Yeah.
- 8:55Redirect right to. The one after them, we can talk
- 8:58to them and they can send people over to us.
- 9:01We'll be OK with that there. You go, there you go.
- 9:04Let's see if we can work on that.
- 9:05We got, we got a couple of years.
- 9:07We'll work on it. What are the fun, what are the
- 9:09fun things about watching the Oscars?
- 9:11And when they do the crowd shots is to scan real quick and see
- 9:16who you recognize. Yeah, my buddy was in the
- 9:19audience, and he'll probably be more visible now.
- 9:23You know what I'm talking about. Josh.
- 9:24Tomorrow. Oh, he was at the Oscars, all
- 9:30right. He was there.
- 9:31All right. He hasn't officially taken over
- 9:33yet, so I guess he's still in, you know, cruise control mode,
- 9:36right? I I guess it's tomorrow.
- 9:39Yeah, right. Look out.
- 9:41Look out. Here it comes.
- 9:42It's. It's a new day.
- 9:44It's a new dawn. He's gonna have a 9:00 meeting
- 9:47with everybody, Lily. Flex Dad's gonna watch the
- 9:52Oscars when they award Spaceballs.
- 9:54He's holding out. He's holding out hope.
- 9:56Yeah. Now you, you just keep keep
- 9:58waiting, Ken. Keep waiting.
- 10:01I want to address another thing in chat I saw earlier, Funk
- 10:04Congress says, hey, what's the deal?
- 10:07Why does everybody give Disney Adults so much hate?
- 10:10You know, you know why they don't give Disney Adults so much
- 10:12hate? Right here, these two channels,
- 10:16you be a Disney adult all you want, part of the Disney
- 10:19Streamer Network. You see as much Disney as you
- 10:21want to. No hate from Disney adults right
- 10:24here. So thanks for joining.
- 10:27Yeah, You know the term Disney adults.
- 10:29You know, I, I feel like the people that have a problem with
- 10:34it are people that don't know how to be a kid in general.
- 10:38Yeah, that's that's the problem. And I feel badly for you because
- 10:42if you feel like you have to just be a straight up formal
- 10:45adult, how fun is life for you? Because I can, I could be a
- 10:50straight on adult with my professions and then I could
- 10:52turn around and just be a kid and enjoy life to the fullest.
- 10:55But it's all up to you. But I just think that's what
- 10:58blocks people from, you're right from doing that.
- 11:00Maybe they're angry that they can't be a kid.
- 11:03And you look at pictures and or videos of Walt driving around
- 11:07and his train in his backyard like he wasn't a kid at that
- 11:12point. He's the biggest Disney adult.
- 11:16Now you tell me there's something wrong with being a
- 11:18Disney adult after watching Walt on his training.
- 11:22I mean, come on, come on. Really.
- 11:25That's that's right, Sharon says.
- 11:26Disney's about fun. No one is too old to have fun.
- 11:29Nope, not at all. Not at all.
- 11:32Nope, I want to be a kid to the end.
- 11:34Wilson's in the world. Hello.
- 11:36Speaking of it, Speaking of kids and adults, go back and watch
- 11:44Pete's clubhouse chat from I guess that was Tuesday night,
- 11:51Wednesday night, whatever it was, Kendall tell me there was a
- 11:56special report from I didn't even IA friend of the Easter
- 12:01Bunny. We'll just leave it at that.
- 12:03Go back and watch that show if you want.
- 12:05You want to talk about adults being kids?
- 12:08OK, loved it. So, yeah, so Disney did not have
- 12:14a good showing, I guess you could say at this year's Oscars,
- 12:20they weren't really up for much. They did get one win.
- 12:27That win was for best visual effects for Avatar, Fire and
- 12:32Ash. So they won for for the award
- 12:40went to the film's visual effects team, which includes
- 12:45Industrial Light and Magic ILM, which Disney owns.
- 12:49The films that were dominated but lost.
- 12:57They lost. Best animated feature was
- 13:00Zootopia 2 and ILEO. They both were nominated for
- 13:06best animated feature and they lost to K pop Demon Hunters.
- 13:11Do do you know K pop demon hunters?
- 13:15I have a 19 year old daughter. Good night everyone.
- 13:22KK Pop has been her life for. Quite some.
- 13:24Time. So that's.
- 13:26Crazy, though. I would have bet the morgue if
- 13:29you said, hey, what's going to win Best Picture, K Pop, Demon
- 13:31Hunters or Zootopia or even Elio.
- 13:34I would have been like, oh, that's easy.
- 13:36Yeah, it's real easy. But that movie was huge.
- 13:40Yes, it was. Yes, it was.
- 13:42Definitely gathering that they made a lot of money shows you
- 13:44the power of K pop these days. But I'll tell you that song is
- 13:50infectious. That's a good song.
- 13:52It is. I have to say it's got a good
- 13:54hook. Yeah, I mean, remember my my 7
- 13:57year old, you know, ran around here singing it for whoever
- 14:00knows how long. So yeah, yeah.
- 14:03So KK Pop Demon Hunters took home best animated feature.
- 14:09They also won best original song.
- 14:13So that's what happens. Yeah, K Pop 1.
- 14:18So that that's what happens now. Doesn't it seem this hold that
- 14:24thought for one second? Doesn't it seem like if there's
- 14:26like a professional artist, everyone's a professional?
- 14:30But I mean, like if you're on the pop charts, country chart,
- 14:33whatever, like mainstream, and you write a song for a movie,
- 14:36that usually wins, doesn't it? It just usually beats everything
- 14:38else I feel like. Yeah.
- 14:41I wonder if it's because you have more production value
- 14:45behind it, because you have more money behind it, because you're
- 14:47a bigger * you know, maybe that that has something to do with it
- 14:54and maybe it's not necessarily that it has more appeal, maybe
- 15:00it just has more appeal because it's more widely known.
- 15:04I think the appeal part is, is right now one other thing I'll
- 15:07say about the deadly if it gets to that thought yet before I go
- 15:11on to the next thing. OK, I think that the Oscars and
- 15:16how we decide how they win should be restructured because
- 15:23we do end up with a lot of movies.
- 15:25How is it that most people go into watching the Oscars and
- 15:28say, I have no frigging idea what these movies are about and
- 15:33I went to 20 movies this year? Like it means you didn't care
- 15:36enough to see it. I think there's a reputation
- 15:39about. I know there is.
- 15:40There's a reputation of a lot of movies that win or get this
- 15:44acclaim, but it's more on it's it's from the artistic people,
- 15:50it's from critics, it's not from the people.
- 15:55So I think to fairly and I don't know, you all can tell me in
- 15:59chat. I did not see Sinners.
- 16:03I know that it I think it did well in the theaters.
- 16:08I only know one person that saw it, two people and they didn't
- 16:12like it. So I can't evaluate it, but that
- 16:15got some attention. But I think they should cut that
- 16:20that that pie up. I think that you should, you
- 16:23could, you should account in a certain percentage critics,
- 16:28people in the industry, box office and then the people
- 16:34little bit of a fan vote just a little bit or let the fans vote
- 16:38through their pocketbooks. So give the box office a level
- 16:44of acknowledgement because the how I say it, it's not so much
- 16:51that it's the best movie, but it should be taken into account
- 16:54because that many people are seeing it.
- 16:56So those are other opinions. We're only getting opinions from
- 16:58critics and from people in the industry are also.
- 17:03And maybe you take a little of the politics out of it because
- 17:05it's a lot of politics too, on the on the actor side and
- 17:10directors, whoever votes. So that's, that's my little
- 17:13soapbox thing about that. I think that we'd get a better
- 17:16quality show and, and maybe better movies getting awarded or
- 17:22recognized. You know what I mean?
- 17:23Because you're never going to get what if Avengers is the best
- 17:27movie of the year, right? They're not even going to get a
- 17:29sniff. Right.
- 17:32Yeah. Just as an example.
- 17:34Yeah, I'm with you, but. We always have to go artsy
- 17:38fartsy. Sinners Made 370 worldwide, it
- 17:44opened with 48 million so certainly did well, but Zootopia
- 17:532 made like 3 times that you know?
- 17:59Wow. Yeah, so, so, so give it a piece
- 18:0225%, I don't know, 40% of of consideration.
- 18:09Let me know if you all agree with that in comments later or
- 18:13in the chat now. So purple Pleasure saw Sinners
- 18:18and it wasn't for her, she says. I didn't like it, but it was
- 18:23well made. And Michael B Jordan deserved
- 18:26the best actor win. One thing I will say about the
- 18:29awards this year, though, was that it was very diverse in
- 18:35where they were going. Like it's almost like one or two
- 18:39movies will dominate and I don't have the the count.
- 18:41Maybe it'll turn out that way, but it didn't seem that way.
- 18:44It was like best best actor. Wait was Michael B Jordan.
- 18:49So that was sinners. Oh, the title of that movie is
- 18:55so long one 11 battle after another with Leonardo DiCaprio.
- 19:03Now, I didn't see Michael's performance, but I know that
- 19:08Leo's was definitely worthy of a nomination.
- 19:10At least he didn't win that. But I say that because what won
- 19:14best picture that Right. Yeah.
- 19:18Yeah. 1 battle after another one best Picture.
- 19:22And I almost feel like I won Michael B Jordan 1 center is.
- 19:25I was like, oh, it's a lock now because you know, the male lead
- 19:301, you know, best actor. I feel like we could Fact Check
- 19:34it. I'm not sure, but I feel like
- 19:35that kind of coincides with best picture and he didn't get it.
- 19:39Best actress. Best actress with Jessica I'm
- 19:44new to. Her Buckley.
- 19:46Buckley, amazing actress, unbelievable.
- 19:50Best performance I've seen this year.
- 19:51Not for the movie she won in Hamnet, but I think we're going
- 19:54to see Hamnet because Jacob wants to see it.
- 19:56OK. Her performance in the Bride was
- 20:00one of the best I've seen in a long time.
- 20:05The Bride was really good. Her performance was better than
- 20:08the movie made you like the movie more.
- 20:11But man, that performance, it was like Joker level, like you
- 20:16know how hard it. Looks to.
- 20:17Like play the Joker. I'm putting that performance on
- 20:20that level. I mean, it's almost split
- 20:23personalities. One second she's talking one
- 20:26way, next second, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
- 20:28And then she's back to like normal.
- 20:30Like that girl has a, has a, has a strong future.
- 20:35So yeah. So that's about that.
- 20:39Sinners did take home quite a bit.
- 20:41Best Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, Original Screenplay
- 20:47and Original Score. But as you said they they did
- 20:52not take home best picture that went to 1 battle after another
- 20:56which also took supporting actor weapons got supporting actress.
- 21:04That was a surprise and Weapons was good, but her performance
- 21:08was great, worthy of a win, and we did see one battle after
- 21:13another and we thought that was one of the better movies we saw
- 21:16last year. It was good.
- 21:20Fire and Ash for visual effects, costume design went to
- 21:23Frankenstein, Best makeup and hair styling, Frankenstein and
- 21:26best production design, Frankenstein.
- 21:30So yeah, it was pretty, pretty diverse.
- 21:34I mean, up above those, those top categories there, you know,
- 21:39there wasn't one that swept the whole thing, which I think is is
- 21:42good. It's better.
- 21:45It's funny, I did not see any of those movies.
- 21:50It's not a not a big year for movies for us, just between work
- 21:55and Disney, the network and the shows and all that.
- 22:01Just haven't haven't had time for it.
- 22:02There was a time though, there was a year, well there were a
- 22:08couple years, but there was one year in particular where we were
- 22:11doing pre screenings, advanced screenings and man, we racked up
- 22:19some movies. There was there was a week we
- 22:22went to free pre screenings Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
- 22:26Thursday. Wow, I love that.
- 22:29Crazy. If you're into movies, I suggest
- 22:35you all try that. You sign up for
- 22:38advancedscreenings.com. There's A and you'll get a bunch
- 22:41of different ones. The only issue I will warn you
- 22:45is that they want a full theater for the for the pre screening.
- 22:50So they oversell quote UN quote, they're free, but they oversell
- 22:54the tickets. So if the theater holds, let's
- 22:58say 100 people, they're going to get 125 people that get tickets
- 23:06to it. So you have to be there early.
- 23:12So normally we get there like an hour to an hour and a half
- 23:15early, but it's a great way to see some, you know, movies in
- 23:20advance and not have to pay for them.
- 23:23Sometimes they'll ask you for your opinion afterwards.
- 23:27Sometimes they don't. Sometimes they make you take
- 23:30your phones and put them in a zip lock bag outside the
- 23:35theater. Sometimes they just tell you,
- 23:37you know, no phones, obviously. I mean, it's a movie.
- 23:41Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 23:42But yeah, if you're into movies, I would really suggest you do
- 23:46that. I think we saw 42 movies that
- 23:49way one year. Yeah, I would probably say we're
- 23:52averaging a little over 50 movies a year now with our A
- 23:56list. That's pretty good.
- 23:58Yeah. That's pretty good.
- 24:00I think it was like 52 last year, so 52 or 54.
- 24:03I think it was 52. So you'd say, wow, that's one
- 24:06move. It averages one movie a week,
- 24:07but there are very rare that we miss a week.
- 24:11But there's times that we double up.
- 24:12I guess we've missed maybe 3 or 4 weeks, but then we'll double
- 24:15up on a Friday and a Sunday. Sure.
- 24:17One thing I'd like to do one time is maybe just like if I
- 24:21have a few scheduled weekdays off and we're just chilling,
- 24:24just go and do a double feature. Like just go from one theater to
- 24:27the next. Yeah.
- 24:28You know, be fun. Be fun.
- 24:32Miss Mel Loved, loved sinners. I've seen a double feature.
- 24:36The most I've done was I saw an Indian.
- 24:39This is when Indiana Jones had three movies.
- 24:42I went to a Film Festival and we watched all three back-to-back
- 24:45to back. It was pretty cool.
- 24:47Took took all day Saturday, of course.
- 24:50I once did that with the Harry Potter films, no?
- 24:55Oh gosh, imagine that you can't even do that with.
- 24:58Star Wars. No.
- 24:59Oh goodness. I.
- 25:00Couldn't I just. I don't care how much I love
- 25:02movies, I could never stay for something that's like 45678
- 25:06movies. Like what do you do?
- 25:07Can you come back the next day? Yeah, yeah, that'd be, that'd be
- 25:10too much. Lawrence Kibler had to walk out
- 25:13of 1 battle. Only second time ever walked out
- 25:16of a movie. 30 minutes and I was bored and felt no desire to keep
- 25:20watching. Wow.
- 25:22Have you ever had the desire to walk out of a movie?
- 25:25I never. I never have.
- 25:28And with our scoring system, our scoring system here at LID is
- 25:3360%. If I tell you something 60% or
- 25:36higher, then we're OK with you going to watch it.
- 25:40We won't feel badly for saying, yeah, it's 60, it's 60, it's at
- 25:43the cusp. But you, you won't be mad you
- 25:45spent, you'll be looking for your two hours back.
- 25:48It was, it was decent. Anything below we only rated 2
- 25:51movies last year under 60% in the 50s and we stayed to watch
- 25:56those. Wow, OK.
- 25:58Lawrence Kibler, can you can you tell us more?
- 26:00Why? I know you said you were bored,
- 26:03but tell tell us a little bit more about it.
- 26:06And excuse me, you saw it. Do you see where Lawrence
- 26:14Kibler's coming from? Did it get more?
- 26:17Did it? Did it?
- 26:18If the if he would have stayed, would he have, you know, would
- 26:22it have redeemed itself? What do you what do you think?
- 26:26Wow, it could be so contrasting, huh?
- 26:28From what I'm thinking of, like, I think that it, it grasped me
- 26:34from the beginning. I was like, OK, there's, there's
- 26:37stuff happening right here. Why is this happening?
- 26:40I mean, it is, if I can remember correctly, it is.
- 26:45It does have a political slant to it.
- 26:47You know, it could be that maybe he disagreed with what was going
- 26:51on. I'm not going to say whether I
- 26:52did or I didn't. I did take notice that it had
- 26:55some strong political statements to make, so that could have been
- 26:59a turn off to him or others. I could, I could see that and
- 27:01understand it. But Leo was great and you could
- 27:06see right away that his performance was going to be
- 27:08great. Sean Penn won, so I mean he was
- 27:10outstanding. So even the the female, I can't
- 27:14remember any both females in that.
- 27:17All the main actors were really good.
- 27:19I thought it moved along. I thought it paced well and
- 27:23there's even in a very serious movie, some very funny things
- 27:25and there's some great scenes at the end.
- 27:27He missed a great ending. I think I but always love when
- 27:33Lawrence comes in because he's a fellow A Lister.
- 27:36So I use he he probably knows this.
- 27:39I use him on Saturdays as the kind of the ping for me to say
- 27:43you know, Lawrence is in. It's time for that a list
- 27:45review. We don't like to share with you
- 27:47all what we thought about the Friday night movie.
- 27:49So you were going to. Say that it.
- 27:52I think a lot of times that I get to movies like, and I feel
- 27:56that way, like when's it going to get moving?
- 28:00Like the, you know, the pace in the beginning and I had to just
- 28:04tell myself, OK, this is how it tells the story and then it
- 28:09starts to move along. But yes, there have been some
- 28:13movies that I thought about walking out of how to A Million
- 28:20Ways to Die in the West. Seth MacFarlane.
- 28:25We actually went to see that with some friends.
- 28:28It was a pre screening. Yeah.
- 28:30Meaning it was free and they walked out.
- 28:35They had had it and they walked out.
- 28:37I don't know how how long into the movie, but they walked out
- 28:40and I was like, should we leave too?
- 28:44Is this just too much? We recently saw a movie with the
- 28:51guy who was the child actor in Indiana Jones.
- 28:55His name is going to escape me now.
- 28:57Oh yes, I gosh, I forget his name, but he was in a recent
- 29:02film and wasn't it? I think it came.
- 29:06I've got a list of this year's movies.
- 29:09It was good. Did you like the movie?
- 29:12It was an action film, right? It was an action film.
- 29:17His name is Mutt Williams. That's not him.
- 29:20Who's that? No Ki kiu kwan if I'm
- 29:26pronouncing that right. I would roll with that.
- 29:30OK, I want to see what the name of this movie was.
- 29:35Love hurts. Love hurts.
- 29:38Love hurts. Yes, love hurts.
- 29:41I did, I enjoyed it. It makes scene when they're in.
- 29:45The beginning, they're cut, they're jumping over the fences
- 29:47in the yards. And did you know, did you know
- 29:50that that was Marshawn Lynch, the main hit man?
- 29:54The main hit man. But yeah, from the Seahawks. $17
- 29:58million is what it made all. Right.
- 30:01I mean, we could do a whole thing on movies that should have
- 30:04made more money. I mean it, it was, it was to me
- 30:07it was better than 17,000,000. I thought, I thought so.
- 30:11I forget why we I think we just want to go.
- 30:14I think Jay might have stayed home with Finley and we just
- 30:17want to just kind of a date to get out.
- 30:19Yeah, but it was, it was fun. It was fun.
- 30:24But you know, not every movie has to be, you know, OO winning.
- 30:31But it was fun. Can I say this when we're
- 30:34looking and we will get to the Disney stuff, everyone, can I
- 30:37say this about a movie like, boy, was I dead wrong on Wicked?
- 30:43I thought that would dominate the Oscars.
- 30:46It's a grand stage. The performances were
- 30:49unbelievable. It was magical.
- 30:52It took you back to a place that we were first introduced to in
- 30:55what, 1930? Something.
- 30:59Nothing. One or two.
- 31:01Not, not even not even, not both.
- 31:03Not even nominated for costumes. Best Song.
- 31:09I thought that Defying Gravity, the end of the first movie, was
- 31:15one of the most epic, spine chilling endings to a movie
- 31:19ever. There's a lot of movies out
- 31:21there, but that just really gave me all the chills at the end to
- 31:25come to a climax like that. Nothing.
- 31:30So guess who hasn't seen one or two?
- 31:35Am I looking at him? Wow.
- 31:38I, I wanted to and I don't know, we just, like I said, just this,
- 31:42this past year, just been so busy.
- 31:47Just have not had any, any time. But yeah, we, we're going to and
- 31:51any, anytime we want to watch a movie, you know, Finley's
- 31:55watching something typically Disney, but I think that she
- 31:58would like Wicked. She's very much into, I
- 32:02shouldn't say very much, but she's into musicals.
- 32:05She likes singing. So I think, I think she would
- 32:08enjoy it And it, I mean, it's the Wizard of Oz.
- 32:10I, we do need her to watch the, the original Wizard of Oz.
- 32:15I think she would enjoy that. I want to know in chat who is
- 32:19good and who is bad at evaluating a movie.
- 32:24Meaning you go see it and you go man that was terrible.
- 32:28Like Lawrence. Not, I'm not picking on Lawrence
- 32:30at all, but Lawrence went to go see one battle and he walked
- 32:35out. Like what was he not getting
- 32:38from it that he I never. That's why most of my movies are
- 32:42acceptable when I review them, because I'm just really good.
- 32:46I've been good for a long time at choosing what I think I'll
- 32:51like. And it's vast.
- 32:53I can see a musical, I can see a love story, I can see action, I
- 32:56can see thriller, I can see horror.
- 32:58I'm just really good at picking things.
- 33:01So much so Tammy. Tammy half the time doesn't even
- 33:04know what she's seeing. When the lights come, the lights
- 33:08go down. Just walking in blind.
- 33:10She just trust me, I've never steered her wrong in a movie.
- 33:14Maybe the two you know that we rated below that in 2025.
- 33:20But I will also tell her though, what I think I will say those
- 33:24two that we rated low. I say we didn't have the A list.
- 33:27We wouldn't be here. This probably isn't going to be
- 33:29great and I just, I just, I nail it every time.
- 33:34See that's what I would do with the advanced screenings too.
- 33:36I would see some that I would like.
- 33:38I was thinking let's go see it because it's free.
- 33:44You know, same thing like you said with the A list.
- 33:46I mean, it's included so you know it's free quote.
- 33:49UN quote you have more leniency, you can just go.
- 33:51Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, absolutely.
- 33:53And maybe there's something, you know, really artistic in it that
- 33:56you end up liking because I mean, honestly, for the for the
- 34:00pre screenings, you're not going to get many of these that are,
- 34:04you know, wicked, even the one we saw.
- 34:09Because they don't need it. Or exactly the one we saw for
- 34:14Wish. And I think we've only done 2
- 34:20maybe two or three animated movies, not many.
- 34:25But the when we got Wish that was a pre screening, but it was
- 34:28paid. So it might have been 4 dollars,
- 34:31$5 something like that. It was it was really cheap but
- 34:34you still did have to pay for it.
- 34:36Most of the time it's 100% free. But yeah, you just go and just,
- 34:43you know, take a shot. Maybe it's one of those hidden
- 34:46gems that you're like, hey, that was pretty good.
- 34:48It was. It was better than I thought it
- 34:50was going to be. And you know, Lawrence says in
- 34:54the chat that he'll go see anything, and that's perfect for
- 34:56an A Lister. And we almost, we almost will
- 34:59too. Because of that, there is
- 35:01there's so many movies I wouldn't have taken a chance on
- 35:04because movies are price. They're they're they're honestly
- 35:07priceless. They are priceless, but movies
- 35:09are expensive. Yeah.
- 35:10So you really have to decide, you know what, you want to try
- 35:13to take a chance. Movies are a bet, right?
- 35:15We bet every time we go to the movies.
- 35:17You put your money down and you say, I'm betting that this I'm
- 35:20going to enjoy this, right. Hopefully more often than not,
- 35:23you enjoy it for sure. Yeah, I'll say this.
- 35:28We, we want to see if anyone can ever see, especially if it's a
- 35:31favorite movie of yours, if something comes to your town
- 35:34that is like, for example, we saw ET in concert, which is why
- 35:37we started the live stream later on Saturday.
- 35:42And I'm, I'm not exaggerating. You might probably heard me say
- 35:44this. I'm not exaggerating when I say
- 35:46that was one of the greatest experiences of my life for
- 35:50entertainment. It was really, really touching
- 35:53to me. I I still love soundtracks.
- 35:57I played the ET soundtrack to death along with Star Wars and
- 36:02Indiana Jones and all that stuff.
- 36:03I know a lot of that stuff by heart.
- 36:04Note for note to hear that played, watch it being played in
- 36:08front of us. What just it gave me chills from
- 36:11top to bottom and a lot of scenes of that movie just
- 36:14especially when they do the iconic even Tammy and I talked
- 36:19about it later. I was like, she was like, I'm
- 36:20getting chills talking about it. She's like did you see like 50
- 36:24violins and basses just stroke into the same the same notes and
- 36:29just doing that in the 1st 8 minutes, you know, whole forest
- 36:33scene. Yeah.
- 36:34I didn't even watch much of it, I probably watched 10% of it.
- 36:39My jaw was just open and I was in awe at how they just hit all
- 36:42the notes just watching. And you, you're listening,
- 36:50right? And, and did you feel like it
- 36:52was recorded right? You're like, how are they
- 37:00playing? It's the same that I've heard
- 37:02all these dozens and dozens of years and, and, and for decades
- 37:07I've heard this music, they're playing this.
- 37:10It doesn't make sense. You almost don't believe it.
- 37:13You almost don't believe they're really playing.
- 37:15Yep. Now, if you're a technical
- 37:17person and you know, musicians, I'm sure each and every one of
- 37:20them walked out of there. Like man, I really missed that E
- 37:23minor, you know, in scene 3, like I I hit a half a second off
- 37:27or something. We know that happens, but to us,
- 37:30you know, the common person like it, just like they nailed
- 37:33everything, you know, and and and the music came up and then
- 37:36it came down when it was supposed to.
- 37:37And then you pay more attention to a few things, like what
- 37:40instruments are you did? The harp is used a lot in that
- 37:44soundtrack. You know, there's one big harp
- 37:46on stage, and you just kind of look over and, you know, I watch
- 37:49the harp a lot. And just to watch her kind of
- 37:51pick that thing. And it it, that thing popped up
- 37:54way more often than than I even realized because there are some
- 37:57iconic scenes where it's like all harp.
- 37:59Yeah. You know, just just driving into
- 38:01the film, I said to Jacob, I said, pay attention to the harp
- 38:04when Elliot's talking to ET, when he thinks he's dead, you
- 38:09know? And sure enough, there it was
- 38:10all on its own. And there's moments you realize
- 38:12the moments that there is no music.
- 38:14Yeah, true. You know, you just see them all
- 38:17kind of. And I sometimes I was trying to
- 38:19nail who was doing what. Sometimes you're like, OK, who's
- 38:21doing that? Who's who's making that sound?
- 38:23You know, with the clarinet in the back, you know?
- 38:28And Corey's right, if you have the chance to go and see that,
- 38:32you know, so, so he saw ET, you've seen Star Wars God.
- 38:39I have. You know what?
- 38:41I didn't see an actual film from start to finish, but I did see
- 38:44Star Wars in concert before. I think Jill might have been a
- 38:48baby. So almost 20 years ago, I saw
- 38:52Star Wars in concert. So they played like montages of
- 38:55different things. It's been a while.
- 38:57I'm gonna, I'm gonna guess like maybe they did a montage of
- 39:00Anakin scenes and kind of did that and then they did something
- 39:04else battles or, you know, sad moments.
- 39:08So it was kind of that it was a mishmash, which was still great.
- 39:13But I I really missed last year, the year before they did do
- 39:17Empire Strikes Back here and I missed it.
- 39:20That would be if you say, if you said what's the ultimate for
- 39:23you? It would have been that.
- 39:24And I doubt they'll bring it back now.
- 39:25I will say this and maybe if you have your flight pass next year,
- 39:32they did announce while we were there and I believe this is the
- 39:35exact film. Think they're doing Raiders.
- 39:39So if it intrigues you guys, they always come down on a
- 39:44Saturdays and check out the 230 show.
- 39:48And they do, they do a good amount of those.
- 39:52So ET he just said Raiders. We have seen Star Wars Episode
- 39:571, No, Episode 4 and 5, I think, I think is what they did.
- 40:06And then Harry Potter was 1 and 2.
- 40:09They were supposed to continue. And then this was in 2020.
- 40:13So because of the pandemic, they stopped doing them.
- 40:15And I don't know that they've picked them up again.
- 40:18But there is just something about seeing that orchestra
- 40:21performing your the music that you've known and loved and know
- 40:27every note to just amazing to to see that perform.
- 40:32So if you have the chance to see that, see that.
- 40:36Pamela wants to talk about the Michael, the Michael Jackson
- 40:42biopic that's coming out next month.
- 40:45I'm very excited about that. I'm a huge Michael Jackson fan.
- 40:47I just took mom to see. Yeah, you.
- 40:50Did MJ the Musical couple weeks ago.
- 40:52We had a phenomenal time and so this movie should be, should be
- 40:58pretty good. So we'll we'll be seeing that
- 41:02next month, yeah. I am, I am highly anticipating
- 41:05that. And I think the family is, you
- 41:08know, not many people can beat the the music catalog of Michael
- 41:13Jackson and, you know, part of that film.
- 41:19From what I hear, they're not going to get into all his legal
- 41:23stuff, which I don't know if you're OK with that or not.
- 41:28I think it's fair to tell people that before they make the choice
- 41:32because do you want the all out honesty or not honesty?
- 41:37But how it all played out for him.
- 41:39Like the Elvis movie we saw what last year, two years ago?
- 41:43That biopic was phenomenal. It made me an Elvis fan.
- 41:47So good. I would recommend it if you
- 41:49haven't seen it. So good.
- 41:51You don't even have to be an Elvis fan, but it showed his
- 41:54highs and lows. I came away from that feeling
- 41:57badly for him. Now.
- 41:58Nobody puts drugs in our mouths. We put them in our mouths, but
- 42:03that's a guy that was pretty much forced to keep going and
- 42:07the people around him did him wrong.
- 42:10But so, you know, if that's true, I've only heard it.
- 42:14Just know that you may not see that side of things.
- 42:16You're just going to see more of the musical side of it.
- 42:19But it looks good. And every time a new trailer
- 42:21comes out, it's it gets me more and more excited for it.
- 42:24I mean, I think I'm going to be dancing in my seat.
- 42:26For sure, I will say that the musical did address quite a bit
- 42:33more than I thought they were going to.
- 42:36Oh, the musical did. Really.
- 42:37Yeah. Oh yeah, quite a bit more.
- 42:41If I would have thought the film would have done it first before
- 42:44the musical would have done it, Yeah.
- 42:47Interesting. Yeah, they, they, they went,
- 42:50they went into it. I was, I was, you start to see
- 42:55why certain things happen. And so I, I, I was glad they
- 43:01addressed it the way they did. And the the family, the estate,
- 43:05bless the musical. So we saw the touring one.
- 43:09Obviously it's in it's on Broadway and there's also a West
- 43:13End version as well. So if it goes around to your
- 43:18city and you have the chance to see it in your big Michael
- 43:20Jackson fan, totally say go take a look at that.
- 43:25Well, there and I didn't know Miss, Miss Organized Life said
- 43:29it's his nephew playing him. Yes, how about this?
- 43:34And if I remember correctly, he did not really want to and then
- 43:40he just got into it and just went like they said, he just.
- 43:44I wonder if family had influence on it.
- 43:49I, you know, I think that I'm sure they, they had a lot of
- 43:53discussion and you know, whoever the producers or whoever went to
- 43:57him was like, hey, you should do this.
- 43:59I'm sure he was like, Nah, I'm good.
- 44:01That's what I'm thinking. I just playing it in my head,
- 44:03Nah, I'm good. And then he went to the family
- 44:06and they're like, you know, they really want you to do this,
- 44:08blah, blah. And from what I can tell, I saw
- 44:11one interview where they said he just totally embodied it and you
- 44:16will be pleasantly surprised. So.
- 44:19He's got the talent in his jeans right?
- 44:21Yeah, it's. There, it's there.
- 44:24So yeah, looking forward to that.
- 44:27So yeah, we're here to talk some Disney Oscar stuff.
- 44:32So yeah, it's so you know, I found, I remember we did when we
- 44:39did the what did we call them, the dizzies?
- 44:44When we did our award ceremony, I had I pulled that clip of Walt
- 44:50Disney winning for Seven Dwarves and he won a regular Academy
- 44:55Award and then they gave him seven small.
- 44:57Ones. You know, and that didn't even
- 45:02start his run of Academy Awards. So Walt Disney himself has won
- 45:1122 competitive Academy Awards. He has won four honorary Oscars
- 45:19and has 59 total nominations. That is the most nominations in
- 45:25the most wins of any human on the planet.
- 45:31And that's Walt Disney. And a lot of it started with the
- 45:36shorts back in the in the 30s before he went to long form.
- 45:42So, you know, he, we all know the magic, right?
- 45:49We, we see in the parks, Corey's out there twice a week and we
- 45:52see that, we feel it. But you know, it started folks,
- 45:57if you have not seen the six part series, how Disney Built
- 46:02America, you need to go see that because it's on.
- 46:10Oh gosh, I can't remember. Somebody in the chat will tell
- 46:12me, but going to go sit down and watch that six piece series
- 46:18because that was really, really well done.
- 46:20And it shows you how he was on the brink of no money, sold his
- 46:25car and had to keep, you know, barring from Peter to pay Paul
- 46:31in order to keep the studio going.
- 46:33And look at where it ended up now.
- 46:35So I always think of his story as just a Great American True
- 46:41Grit. Just get it done, figure out,
- 46:44you know, I know I have something.
- 46:48I just have to keep going. I just have to keep going.
- 46:51And he had his brother behind him, helping the entire way and
- 46:55pushing, you know, because he could see the vision that his
- 46:59brother had. You know, we know, we know a lot
- 47:06of this stuff, but I'm just thinking in my head as you're
- 47:09explaining this, like the first thoughts about Walt and how
- 47:12things really get started was he would take the the family to
- 47:16this small amusement park and just think, why can't there be
- 47:19something that the whole family can can do together and
- 47:22everything? So I'm guessing he was a an
- 47:26animator first and and then taking the family to this stuff.
- 47:30So did was was more of his motivation to OK the animation
- 47:37is going to be my pathway to financial success to pay for
- 47:41this park. I and and I want to say that
- 47:49that series actually tells a good amount of it.
- 47:53I think it was kind of that way, you know, History Channel.
- 47:58Thank you. Yeah, I think that if I remember
- 48:04correctly, I think the park was let's make a it's almost like
- 48:11making a mini's runaway railway, which you guys can't see.
- 48:13But my the background of my monitor here that I'm looking at
- 48:20is looking down Hollywood Studios, Hollywood Blvd.
- 48:23So I'm looking at the Chinese Theater and as I'm looking at
- 48:26Corey, so Mickey and Minnie's runaway Railway, you know, takes
- 48:31you and puts you into the cartoon.
- 48:33And I think that was kind of what, you know, he wanted to do.
- 48:37As you know, my, my plaque right here says, you know, you leave
- 48:41this this reality and you enter, you know, the world of
- 48:45yesterday, today, yesterday, tomorrow and, and fantasy.
- 48:51So I think that was kind of the idea behind the park is I can
- 48:56create all these things on the screen now I want to create them
- 49:02in real life. And I I believe you did it.
- 49:08And I'm just going to say it. Your buddy who takes over
- 49:12tomorrow, I think is going to deliver that again.
- 49:17I think I think that he is going to put you know it that Michael
- 49:24Eisner time period of Disney parks.
- 49:29I really think that's what we're going to get again, you know,
- 49:34between Abu Dhabi and Villains Land and all the new rides,
- 49:39monsters coaster. That thing is, we don't even
- 49:44know much about it, but we know you're riding on a door and it's
- 49:48the first of its kind in Disney. And go look at how big that
- 49:52building is. Like, think about this.
- 49:55If it is, if it is a coaster, the length of Guardians, OK,
- 50:04because the building is massive. If it's a coaster the length of
- 50:10Guardians without the speed of Guardians, it's going to be a
- 50:16very long coaster, right? Guardians is the longest coaster
- 50:21in the world as far as length, but because it's going 60 miles
- 50:26an hour, it's over in, you know, 3 minutes that the door coaster
- 50:32is not going to move that fast. Just think about how long that
- 50:35attractions going to be. I think we're in for some good
- 50:39stuff. I think so.
- 50:41I think you nailed it when you compare him to Eisner.
- 50:44Eisner just seemed to have a genuine love for the parks and
- 50:48bringing the best possible attractions that they could come
- 50:53up with at that time. I think Josh, he, he seems like
- 50:56he's going to be a lot like him. I'm.
- 50:59Definitely excited now. Eisner also led to the parks
- 51:04with the movies, you know, so you had that Renaissance period
- 51:09going on right then Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lion King
- 51:12and all those good movies right then, which then led to all the
- 51:18entertainment in the parks, you know?
- 51:21Think about what the parades and nighttime shows would have been
- 51:26without some of those big show, a big movies then.
- 51:30So I think that we are going to get a really good renaissance
- 51:35there. I really do.
- 51:39I don't know if they'll call it the Renaissance period, but it's
- 51:42going to be something. So here's here's some quick
- 51:46timelines about the Disney at the Oscars.
- 51:49So the first win was in 1932, won the first Academy Award for
- 51:53Flowers and Trees, which was a Silly Symphony short.
- 51:57And it was the first full color cartoon to win in 32.
- 52:02It was almost 100 years ago. Crazy in 39.
- 52:08It was the most iconic Oscar ever, as I talked about.
- 52:11Yeah, the one full statue and seven mini ones.
- 52:14By the way, those were real statues.
- 52:17They weren't like props. They actually just made seven
- 52:20actual mini that they didn't, they didn't like, you know,
- 52:25they, they weren't made out of chocolate or something.
- 52:30In the 40s, Disney won multiple Oscars for animated shorts
- 52:36featuring Mickey Mouse and friends.
- 52:39And then in 69 he won his final Oscar, giving him the most or
- 52:44cementing his record as the most awarded individual ever.
- 52:49And that was in 69, and no one has done it in 8920.
- 52:58Years later you get The Little Mermaid which wins two Oscars,
- 53:03which starts this new Renaissance era. 94 You get The
- 53:07Lion King, which wins two Oscars, including best original
- 53:11song. 95 Pixar starts to change the world and you get Toy Story,
- 53:19which earns a special achievement Oscar, the first
- 53:23fully computer animated film. Now you're you've talked a lot
- 53:29about hand drawn and yes and yet you have Toy Story in 95 which
- 53:38was computer animated but it still felt hand drawn.
- 53:45Am I wrong the the the styling was, I guess it was a fresh
- 53:52version of hand drawn. It didn't feel like what we're a
- 53:57lot of what we're seeing today. Which one?
- 54:00Toy Story the first one. Yeah, you're talking about Toy
- 54:03Story? No, that was totally digital.
- 54:05It just wasn't. It was new, so it doesn't look
- 54:08nearly as good as what we see, what we'll see with, like Toy
- 54:12Story 5, you know, things. But I mean like the stuff we're
- 54:15seeing today. Yeah.
- 54:18Is different. It's a whole different style of
- 54:23animation. Yeah.
- 54:24These kids don't know kids that are 5 and 10.
- 54:27Yeah. And maybe even 15 just don't
- 54:30really know when they see new movies.
- 54:31They don't know hand drawn. Yeah.
- 54:33Unless they've gone back to the classics.
- 54:35Yeah, I don't know. Is is that asking for us to go
- 54:40back to black and white? You know, when they went to
- 54:42color like it sounds almost like no man we need.
- 54:44To get back to the black and. Whites.
- 54:47We need the black and whites. Could be.
- 54:50Yes, I mean Pixar, Disney. The digital age of animation is
- 54:54amazing. I love it, but it would just,
- 54:57it'd be nice now and then to just, I'd like to see what would
- 55:00happen with because it, you know, listen, George Lucas and
- 55:03how many have said it's all about the story, no matter what
- 55:05it is, it's about the story. So if you put a solid story out
- 55:10there and and it's hand drawn, you know, is it going to flop?
- 55:16Maybe, maybe the young, the younger generations are like,
- 55:20what's that? Yeah, I'm just not going to give
- 55:23that a chance based on what it looks like.
- 55:25It's kind of like, I don't even know if it's like this, but it's
- 55:28something I was just thinking of.
- 55:29Like there are so Star Wars fans, there are people that will
- 55:34only watch the movies, but man, are there some amazing stories
- 55:39that they have just passed up because it's animation and you
- 55:42can see all these on Disney Plus.
- 55:44Clone Wars is like 6. Is it 6?
- 55:48Did they stop at six? They either stopped at six and
- 55:50then resumed and now there's nine.
- 55:52There's not a massive amount of seasons for Clone Wars in each
- 55:58each, almost all of them have about 24 episodes in them, if
- 56:02I'm not mistaken. So good fills that timeline of
- 56:06The Clone Wars. You hear the mention of The
- 56:08Clone Wars, you don't see too much of it, right?
- 56:10See an Attack of the Clones, kind of the start of it.
- 56:12You don't see all of that. Yeah, there's some great stuff
- 56:15out there, but it's the animation part of it.
- 56:18And I try to tell people, no, give that a chance to give it a
- 56:20chance. Put that aside.
- 56:22But yeah, I don't, I don't think we're seeing any hand drawn
- 56:25coming soon. Now we know Wish didn't do well
- 56:27in the box office. I don't think that was so close
- 56:31to hand drawn looking that that's why it didn't do well.
- 56:37Don't know why that didn't do well, but that looked really
- 56:41close to hand drawn. It made me kind of you have a
- 56:43double take. Like, wait a minute, did they
- 56:45hand draw this? You know?
- 56:48So yeah, I'm still, I'm still pumping my fist for that one.
- 56:52So someday maybe we'll we'll get a yeah, we'll get a hand drawn
- 56:56movie. Maybe if Josh still walks the
- 56:58parks and we happen to bump into each other.
- 57:02Josh, can we get a hand drawn film?
- 57:05He he might have a couple extra people around him now.
- 57:08Yeah, he might. He might.
- 57:10I don't know. I saw J Peck.
- 57:11I saw J Peck in the park. Would he have been approachable?
- 57:15I don't know. I'm glad.
- 57:15He wasn't. I'm glad I didn't approach him.
- 57:20Nobody wanted to be around him, so it was fine.
- 57:23So in 2001, they start a new category.
- 57:27The Academy does. They introduce best animated
- 57:30feature that's only been around since 2001.
- 57:33What movie won the first best animated feature?
- 57:38I'll give you I'll give you 2 guesses.
- 57:42Best animated. Feature very first.
- 57:46One see, I'm probably going to be wrong, but I thought it was
- 57:54Snow White. Nope, 2001. 2001 Well, it had to
- 58:04be frozen then. Nope, Really.
- 58:10Frozen was 2013. In 2001, the first winner Shrek.
- 58:19Oh, it wasn't even Disney. Wasn't even Disney Shrek.
- 58:23Wow. Yeah.
- 58:25Listen, Shrek is probably unless you know, I'm just thinking off
- 58:28the top of my head quickly. Shrek may be the best.
- 58:33My phone is ringing. I don't know if you heard that.
- 58:35The heck yeah, man. This boy's live.
- 58:40So what was he saying? You know, Shrek might be one of
- 58:46the best animated movies that's not Disney.
- 58:52Shrek was phenomenal. Shrek was really good.
- 58:56Yeah, the humor in that is on point.
- 59:00I don't know if that was DreamWorks.
- 59:02I don't think that was Illuminations.
- 59:04Who does Minions? No, but people shouldn't sleep
- 59:07on those either. Each and every minions delivers
- 59:10plenty of laughs. I feel like for me, they're
- 59:13good. I they, I didn't, I didn't think
- 59:15I was going to like any of the minion stuff, but a few minutes
- 59:19in, just watching. What's funniest to me about
- 59:22Minions is how they laugh at each other.
- 59:24You know, one might get something very hurtful done to
- 59:27him, and then it says a pause, and then he laughs at them like
- 59:30they are loony. Yeah, they are crazy.
- 59:34And that's what makes those fun. And you know, grew is kind of
- 59:38like that. He's he's played by Michael from
- 59:40the Office and he's kind of like what Michael would be if he was
- 59:44trying to be like a mad yes. I agree.
- 59:46Scientist, but right, he just tries so hard to be serious and
- 59:50he just, you know, yeah. So Despicable Me was good.
- 59:55I enjoyed that first one. I did see Shrek in the theaters
- 1:00:00in Orlando actually. Took my now 31 year old to
- 1:00:08Disney in 2001 in February. And we had some time to go.
- 1:00:13I think we had a late flight home and we had to check out of
- 1:00:16the hotel and we didn't have park days.
- 1:00:18We weren't annual pass holders. And we we went to the theater
- 1:00:24down there in, in Kissimmee somewhere.
- 1:00:26So yeah, I saw a Shrek in the theaters and thought it was
- 1:00:30hysterical. So yes, 2003 is when Pixar gets
- 1:00:36into it and they win Best Animated Feature with Finding
- 1:00:40Nemo 2013. As I mentioned, Frozen wins two
- 1:00:45Oscars and starts its global phenomena in 2018.
- 1:00:51Marvel gets in with Black Panther winning three Oscars
- 1:00:572021 best picture win via Disney went to Nomadland and that was
- 1:01:06that's owned by Searchlight. Well, that's Searchlight
- 1:01:09Pictures, which owns which is owned by Disney.
- 1:01:12And then on 26, as we mentioned in the beginning, slower night
- 1:01:17for for Disney, they did win 1 Oscar for Avatar for visual
- 1:01:22effects. So here's some quick trivia
- 1:01:26facts. Disney holds the all time record
- 1:01:29for 22 Oscars, holds the record for 59 nominations.
- 1:01:36As I mentioned, Snow White's many Oscars are real.
- 1:01:39They are not props. Disney dominated the best
- 1:01:44animated shorts category for decades before features were
- 1:01:48even recognized, right? So they, you know, they've
- 1:01:51they've owned it for a long time.
- 1:01:57Pixar has won more animated feature Oscars than any other
- 1:02:00studio, which which you know, then means Disney has because
- 1:02:07Disney bought Pixar beating the beast won first animated film
- 1:02:14ever nominated for best picture. You know, and my my Co host
- 1:02:21there, that's his his favorite. No right.
- 1:02:24Favorite Princess favorite movie.
- 1:02:28Go go further. Favorite song?
- 1:02:34Yeah. Favorite soundtrack?
- 1:02:35Favorite soundtrack? OK.
- 1:02:37Yeah, yeah, yeah. For musicals.
- 1:02:41For Disney musicals, though, you know what?
- 1:02:43You know what is really close, though?
- 1:02:45And if I really sat down and tried to break it down, I almost
- 1:02:49could put Frozen ahead of that soundtrack wise.
- 1:02:53It's like almost every song is a banger.
- 1:02:57OK, you know, OK, I might have to.
- 1:03:00I might have to sit down and compare.
- 1:03:02That might edge that out these days.
- 1:03:04But for if if it's not anymore, Beauty and the Beast for me had
- 1:03:07a long run is the best Disney musical soundtrack.
- 1:03:11You know what I always wonder though?
- 1:03:12You know, with movies from that period or even before, right,
- 1:03:16Aristocats or you know some of those others that that we know
- 1:03:19101 Dalmatians. I wonder if they would have been
- 1:03:24made now or if social media had been big then or streaming had
- 1:03:30been big then, would the music have been have been received
- 1:03:36differently? Right.
- 1:03:38I think what happened with Frozen was I remember I I didn't
- 1:03:45see the movie right away, but you had all of the dads and
- 1:03:51daughters doing the Oh no, it just fell out of my head.
- 1:03:56The song. Can I say something crazy?
- 1:04:00You know I love. Crazy.
- 1:04:02Right, so you had all the dads and daughters doing that song.
- 1:04:06Jill and I used to do it right, karaoke style at home.
- 1:04:09All the time. And so I think that that created
- 1:04:12this buzz about it. And I just wonder if Lion King
- 1:04:17and Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid,
- 1:04:21although, you know, those were all huge and huge soundtracks.
- 1:04:24I wonder if it would have been how much bigger it would have
- 1:04:27been had there been social media like there is during this Frozen
- 1:04:32and and Inside Out and Zootopia type, you know?
- 1:04:36Yeah, great question. Yeah, great thoughts.
- 1:04:39You just never know. Never know.
- 1:04:42So Disney did know when Star Wars won.
- 1:04:44It first won its Oscar in 77, but now those count because
- 1:04:49Disney owns Star Wars. Avatar won three Oscars and
- 1:04:56became one of Disney's biggest technical winners after
- 1:05:00acquisition. And despite its dominance,
- 1:05:06Disney has very few acting Oscar wins compared to other studios.
- 1:05:12Isn't that interesting? It dominates, but it dominates
- 1:05:15really for the project, for animation or you know, visual
- 1:05:21effects or stuff like that, but not, not acting.
- 1:05:25I always felt when I was growing up when you saw a Disney movie,
- 1:05:31you could put two films side by side and I could say in a
- 1:05:34heartbeat if it was a Disney movie because they their
- 1:05:37movements and the animation was something that you couldn't even
- 1:05:42other studios just didn't seem to compare.
- 1:05:45Do you know what I mean? Like Disney has a way of, of how
- 1:05:48the characters moved and and all that.
- 1:05:50Back then in the hand drawn days, I think it wasn't till
- 1:05:55maybe an American Tale or something where you say, oh OK,
- 1:05:59that's a lot closer to Disney animation right there.
- 1:06:03OK, I could see that. I could see that American tale
- 1:06:08one through 27 or whatever many they did just.
- 1:06:14You know. I'm out with them.
- 1:06:16You didn't see it? No, I didn't see it.
- 1:06:19I saw the first one in the theater and then I don't think I
- 1:06:23saw any of the other 39 that was I.
- 1:06:26Think it was Diane Warren somewhere out there.
- 1:06:29I think she. I think, I think she, she wrote
- 1:06:33that right. She may have sang.
- 1:06:35She may have sung that one too. Yeah, so Disney and best
- 1:06:41original song go hand in hand. You've got songs like Let It Go,
- 1:06:46A Whole New World. Can you feel the love tonight?
- 1:06:52I mean, and some of the I just remember like the the Oscar
- 1:06:58performances of like a Whole New World and you know, as big as
- 1:07:06Can you feel the Love tonight? I mean, there were there was
- 1:07:08some big songs that really took took over the globe.
- 1:07:14And that's why I said, like, you know, how much bigger would they
- 1:07:17have been had social media been around?
- 1:07:20It's just it's just pretty, pretty interesting to think of
- 1:07:25some of their dominance, but then not in other categories.
- 1:07:30I know. Might not even.
- 1:07:32I wouldn't have even realized that unless we started talking
- 1:07:35about it earlier on, Steve and Tony said.
- 1:07:37How do you compare Pixar to DreamWorks?
- 1:07:45I feel like Pixar is more steady right?
- 1:07:52I think they have. Name me a DreamWorks dud or, or
- 1:07:59Pixar dud. You know, I like I, I think when
- 1:08:05they hit, they hit and I don't know that everything that
- 1:08:10DreamWorks puts out is at the top.
- 1:08:15It it comes down to like I was talking about the the hand drawn
- 1:08:20days. So how many companies tried to
- 1:08:25hit with a with a hit animated feature film and would just fall
- 1:08:32so flat compared to Disney? Anastasia, American Tale, just I
- 1:08:42mean, I, I even as a kid, I wasn't even paying for the
- 1:08:45ticket and I had no interest. If it wasn't Disney, I wasn't
- 1:08:47going, this wasn't going. Now, I might have missed out on
- 1:08:51some good films because of it, but I, you know, I, I think that
- 1:08:58in the heart of Disney, in the heart of Pixar, that they, their
- 1:09:06films are more heartfelt. You feel them more.
- 1:09:10I don't know if there's that much emotion in, in deep
- 1:09:14character development. It makes you think of the
- 1:09:16characters as much. The stories might not be as
- 1:09:19deep. It's kind of what I think is the
- 1:09:22difference between them. OK.
- 1:09:25And Disney's vast with what you get.
- 1:09:27I mean, you, you got Elio, you got Hoppers, Inside Out, all
- 1:09:32very different movies. Yeah, Dream Works, slash
- 1:09:37Illuminations, and they're good. But you know, what are they
- 1:09:40running with? They're running with, they ran
- 1:09:42with Shrek for a while, then they ran with Kung Fu Panda for
- 1:09:45a short run. Then it was Minions that they've
- 1:09:49been, you know, milking every second out of that, which I'm
- 1:09:52not mad at that. There's another one coming out.
- 1:09:55We'll go see it. And until they let us down, you
- 1:09:59know, I'll, I'll keep going to see them.
- 1:10:01So, you know, I just think that everything Disney does is just
- 1:10:06just really more heartfelt. Land Before Time.
- 1:10:08Yeah, maybe maybe that was good. I know they had a few of those
- 1:10:11too. But Land Before Time, I would
- 1:10:13say that that animation did look more like a Disney hand drawn
- 1:10:17film. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:19So I just pulled up a few, right?
- 1:10:22I pulled up, give me some DreamWorks hits and then give me
- 1:10:26some duds. So Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, as you
- 1:10:29mentioned, how to train your dragon.
- 1:10:33Oh, how dragon was good. Yeah, that was.
- 1:10:36Heartfelt. Yes, Madagascar, the Boss, baby
- 1:10:43Puss in Boots, but then they also had some non hits Shark
- 1:10:52Tale B movie monsters versus aliens turbo the croods, you
- 1:11:03know, so it's or the croods the new age.
- 1:11:05So they had some that have not done well.
- 1:11:08I think that you wouldn't find as many duds from Pixar as you
- 1:11:14did from DreamWorks. And I just, I wonder is it, you
- 1:11:20know, kind of what Bob Iger, you know, put it into recently where
- 1:11:25it was quality over quantity. And he was like, no, we're we're
- 1:11:30going to make good movies. Stop just going for volume.
- 1:11:37And maybe that maybe that was maybe that's the problem is that
- 1:11:40they're just going for volume. I don't know.
- 1:11:43Yeah. So if we're looking at a list of
- 1:11:45Pixar films, right, And how are we considering duds?
- 1:11:50I'm not looking at box office here, just just overall feel,
- 1:11:53right? Is that fair to say?
- 1:11:55Like an overall feel Like I agree with those ones that you
- 1:11:57said were were duds. I feel like Cars 2 fell flat and
- 1:12:02that was a dud. There is a finite group that
- 1:12:07loves Wally, but Wally, really, it could be controversial.
- 1:12:12Wally wasn't very good. I didn't.
- 1:12:16I didn't really get Wally. I didn't either.
- 1:12:20I think it might have been a statement of how, you know, lazy
- 1:12:23people have gotten OK, but you know, I saw it.
- 1:12:29Don't have interest in seeing it again.
- 1:12:31But love Wally. We love Wally the character in
- 1:12:33in in Eve or Eva, that they were the best thing about that.
- 1:12:37Love Wally, but not the movie so much.
- 1:12:39Cars 2 fell flat, I thought, but I think Pixar regained my fandom
- 1:12:47with Cars three. I think they really did battle
- 1:12:50back with that one. Brave was a one and done for me,
- 1:12:53and I think overall people didn't weren't super fans of
- 1:12:57that one. But nobody, nobody remembers the
- 1:13:00Good Dinosaur unless that was like the first, unless you have
- 1:13:02like a childhood memory, like you know, your grandpa took you
- 1:13:05to that and it's sentimental. But the Good Dinosaur is was
- 1:13:11definitely something that fell flat for Disney or Pixar I
- 1:13:14should say. Onward was also another one of
- 1:13:17those I think. I think Seoul was better than it
- 1:13:21should have been recognized for, but that probably was floppy
- 1:13:24too. It's so it's it's listed as a
- 1:13:27flop. However, I mean it, it won an
- 1:13:29Oscar but it went straight to streaming because it was 2020.
- 1:13:35Yes. So.
- 1:13:36And onward did too, I believe. So, yeah, so I, you know, I, I
- 1:13:40wonder had it been, you know, in the theaters, how would it have
- 1:13:45been received? Same thing for Turning red.
- 1:13:49Wasn't, you know, it was, it was 22, but it didn't hit as many
- 1:13:55theaters as it should have. So could that have been better?
- 1:14:01Jacob and I really thought Luca was was very good.
- 1:14:04I don't know if you saw Luca, but we enjoyed Luca.
- 1:14:08Luca was fun. It was fun turning.
- 1:14:10Red turning red was fun. I even like light year I I
- 1:14:16probably AM. One of the bigger fans.
- 1:14:18Of light year than the general public, but that was probably
- 1:14:21considered a flop as well. Elemental took it hard publicly
- 1:14:26I would say, but we were pleasantly surprised by element.
- 1:14:29Elemental Elio was better than then we then then the public
- 1:14:37thought I think as well as the box office.
- 1:14:39I don't think it it stood up to normal standards and I think I
- 1:14:43think Pixar hit an absolute home run with Hopper's.
- 1:14:47I think Hopper's is the best Pixar movie to come out since
- 1:14:54Inside Out too. That's not going that far back.
- 1:14:56But if you wanted to skip that and go further back, I'd have to
- 1:15:03say it's been so long since I've seen Incredibles 2.
- 1:15:08I would probably, for me, I think Hopper's is probably the
- 1:15:14best movie. If we're not counting Inside Out
- 1:15:17from 2024, man, I could go as far back as wow, I'm going back
- 1:15:27maybe Inside Out in 2015 and that's and that's bypassing
- 1:15:32Finding Dory Cars 3, Coco Incredibles 2, Toy Story 4, the
- 1:15:37other ones we mentioned. Yeah, Hopper so far is is at
- 1:15:43165,000,000 worldwide. Its budget was 150, so it's
- 1:15:49already about breaking even. Run, don't walk everyone to
- 1:15:55Hoppers. Hoppers was.
- 1:15:57I'm high on that one. I think I rated that in 93.
- 1:15:59And Jacob agreed. It was very heartfelt.
- 1:16:03Some twists and turns, big political statement, but it was
- 1:16:09it was so good. It's getting about a 90
- 1:16:13critically. OK.
- 1:16:15And being called 1 of Pixar's most original and fun films in
- 1:16:20years. See, there you go.
- 1:16:23And The funny thing is it's almost a, it's almost a carbon
- 1:16:27copy of Avatar. I'm really surprised that Disney
- 1:16:32went that route, like, to do something so close.
- 1:16:35But it wouldn't be a surprise because a lot of people say
- 1:16:37Force Awakens is like A New Hope, which it is.
- 1:16:41So it's not like it hasn't been done before.
- 1:16:43Hey, if it's a formula, if the formula works, yeah.
- 1:16:46Anne says she needs to see Hoppers for sure.
- 1:16:49And we love the Toy Story movies.
- 1:16:51I'm very excited for Toy Story 5.
- 1:16:54So, so does we talk about it a lot that if you continue to have
- 1:17:04these billion dollar hits and sequels that you're not going to
- 1:17:08get originals because they're going to do what makes them
- 1:17:11money, right? I mean, there are business
- 1:17:14folks, I don't know if you guys know, but Disney is, is publicly
- 1:17:17traded company. They're in it for the money.
- 1:17:19Just so you know, that's not an industry secret, but you have
- 1:17:26something like Hopper's. Do you say continue trying got
- 1:17:34to put out, you know, something new to mix in with your live
- 1:17:38action remakes and your sequels and stuff like that?
- 1:17:42I think that you said exactly what I was thinking, and I think
- 1:17:47that I'm all for turning out more sequels if they're going to
- 1:17:52be good. I have no problem with that.
- 1:17:54We just want to see good films. But I'm also a fan of some kind
- 1:17:59of ratio like, OK, we're going to put out, you know, for every
- 1:18:04two original, we're going to put out a sequel.
- 1:18:06We're going to put, you know, that kind of thing.
- 1:18:07I'm down for that. Give me a couple of a couple of
- 1:18:10originals, and then you can sprinkle in some sequels, too.
- 1:18:16We've talked about this before. You know, it's it, people will.
- 1:18:20We're going to compare this. And it's timely because Jacob
- 1:18:22texted me, so apparently he could hear me.
- 1:18:25Maybe he's walking by or something.
- 1:18:26But Illuminations did do a movie that was a smash hit.
- 1:18:34And if I would have told you this back in your GameStop days,
- 1:18:38you would have laughed at me, probably.
- 1:18:40But Mario, they own Mario. Oh yes, Mario has blue.
- 1:18:46Mario's blown the doors off of a lot of these very movies we're
- 1:18:50talking about. That's right.
- 1:18:53And that's Illuminations. So kudos to Illuminations for
- 1:18:56doing that. And I think Mario is the movie
- 1:18:59that made Eiger stomp his feet. And we know he did this from
- 1:19:04inside sources, that he he stomped his feet, he he pounded
- 1:19:09the door down and he told those people that Pixar or whatever
- 1:19:14you need to start putting out hits or heads are going to roll.
- 1:19:17And what have they been doing lately?
- 1:19:19They didn't put out hits because Mario kicked Mickey's butt.
- 1:19:23And there's another one coming out.
- 1:19:25So it's going to be interesting on April 1st to see what Mario
- 1:19:29does this time. And I was surprised at how good
- 1:19:31that movie was. I don't know if you guys saw it,
- 1:19:34but that's another movie that's worth seeing.
- 1:19:38When When is the next one? April 1st.
- 1:19:41Oh wow. OK.
- 1:19:43And Chris Pratt plays Mario. Wouldn't even think that.
- 1:19:46It's so random. Yeah, but.
- 1:19:48He was he. Was he?
- 1:19:49Was a good Mario. We really enjoyed, we really
- 1:19:52enjoyed Mario. That was really well done.
- 1:19:55I think it was enough nostalgia for us.
- 1:19:59The the little Easter egg about the original show with Captain
- 1:20:06Lou Albano. There was a little Easter egg in
- 1:20:09there about that one. Yeah, it was.
- 1:20:13It was really good. It was really.
- 1:20:15Good. And it it's fun to see it with a
- 1:20:16guy like Jacob because he's so he's been into Mario games since
- 1:20:20he's played video games. He's played a lot of the Mario
- 1:20:22stuff, so he, he kind of helps me out.
- 1:20:25He'd be like, oh, you know what that's a reference to or this or
- 1:20:27that. So he, he enhances the
- 1:20:29experience for me. So.
- 1:20:32You know, one of my favorite Mario games, which a lot of
- 1:20:35people don't don't because they didn't have a Game Cube, Super
- 1:20:40Mario Sunshine. You're making that up.
- 1:20:45I'm. Not, I'm not making it up.
- 1:20:50Super Mario Sunshine. It was a it was a the premise
- 1:20:54was so weird. He basically there was an evil
- 1:20:56guy going around spraying this gloop.
- 1:21:00It was like tar on everything. And Super Mario had a gun that
- 1:21:07shot like rainbow to clean everything up.
- 1:21:11And it would that's basically what you had to do.
- 1:21:14Yeah, it was, it was, it was one of the most fun games I thought
- 1:21:17and had it had a good music along with that.
- 1:21:21I just then the Mario talk for me.
- 1:21:24I met Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario at E3 back when I
- 1:21:30worked at GameStop. We went to E3 two years and I
- 1:21:35was talking to a friend of mine that worked with with me.
- 1:21:38And I was like, hey, that's, that's Charles Martinet, the
- 1:21:41voice of of Mario. And we're just sitting there.
- 1:21:43We're kind of looking at him and he finally sees us and he just
- 1:21:47sees us looking at him and he calls us over and he's like,
- 1:21:50hey, you know which name, you know, and he could see that we
- 1:21:52work for GameStop and everything.
- 1:21:54And really nice, nice guy. Took, took pictures with my.
- 1:21:58I have to find them. I think they're on my Facebook
- 1:22:00page maybe. But yeah, real nice guy.
- 1:22:03So that's my, that's my Mario story.
- 1:22:05He's now retired. Yeah, wow.
- 1:22:09I'm have to ask Jacob if you've ever heard of Mario Sunshine.
- 1:22:13Yeah, I don't know how they, I don't know how they could buy me
- 1:22:16for the for the GameCube. Yeah, Little whatever size that
- 1:22:20disc was, 3 inch CD. Yeah, fun game.
- 1:22:27So tomorrow, tomorrow you're at Magic.
- 1:22:31Tomorrow we are at Magic Kingdom.
- 1:22:33I have the same arrangement, but it'll probably be starting in
- 1:22:38the six O clock hour. Could be slightly, you know,
- 1:22:401520 minutes sooner than. But I'll keep you up to dated
- 1:22:43update as to where I'm at and all that.
- 1:22:46So yeah, we're at Magic and I believe because it is a vacation
- 1:22:51week for Central Florida, I think Magic is open till 11 and
- 1:22:59my little vacation, my staycation starts tomorrow when
- 1:23:04I'm there. So time isn't too much of a
- 1:23:07factor. Definitely have to come home and
- 1:23:09get up early to try to rope drop Universal.
- 1:23:11But yeah, I'm a big boy. I'm a big boy.
- 1:23:13I can do it. Yeah.
- 1:23:15Magic is open till 11 and then extended Magic Hours from 11:00
- 1:23:20to 1. So yeah, we're doing that.
- 1:23:24And for Saturdays we're at Epcot and Pamela V has convinced us
- 1:23:32that we should stream ELO. Now.
- 1:23:36ELO is another one of those groups.
- 1:23:38If you're in your 40s and above and you just don't really know
- 1:23:44who they are, If you play like the top five songs at least on
- 1:23:51iTunes or Spotify, wherever you enjoy your music, you're going
- 1:23:55to be like, whoa, they sing that.
- 1:23:58Oh, they sing that. So hopefully the audience is
- 1:24:01what that's watching us will realize, oh, and maybe I'll have
- 1:24:04to pump it up a little bit. Maybe I'll have to play samples,
- 1:24:07quick samples, 10 second pieces while we're live so people
- 1:24:12actually know what we're going to see because those would be
- 1:24:16fun to listen to live. So we're hanging out with Pamela
- 1:24:19V and there is definitely a small list of foods that Jacob
- 1:24:23and I did not sink our teeth into yet.
- 1:24:26So we'll visit some food booths, we'll take down some food.
- 1:24:30Well, if there's some openings on some attractions that time
- 1:24:34wise are good, we'll hit that. And we'll just soak every inch
- 1:24:38of fun out of Epcot on Saturdays.
- 1:24:41So it'll be a lot of fun. Sounds good, sounds good.
- 1:24:45So Wednesday, tomorrow night living in Dieselby at Magic.
- 1:24:49Thursday evening at 6:30 I will have the Monitor report.
- 1:24:53We'll talk about the Disney news from this week.
- 1:24:56We'll dig into some click bait news which we haven't touched
- 1:25:01on. And Saturday we are at Epcot
- 1:25:07next Tuesday, no podcast. We will be off next week because
- 1:25:12I will be away for work event for a couple days.
- 1:25:17So no podcast next week, but will return the following week
- 1:25:22with Scooter Adventures. Mike from Scooter Adventures,
- 1:25:26he's going to join us on the podcast and talk about how to
- 1:25:30get around the park in an ECV and talk about mobility and can
- 1:25:35you do it and and tips and tricks.
- 1:25:38So if you wonder about that, make sure to tune into that
- 1:25:42episode for sure. Two other notes I want to give
- 1:25:46you tonight at 9:30, I believe Brandon Miraculous is doing a
- 1:25:55deep dive with his dad, who was one of the production assistants
- 1:26:03on Muppet Vision 3D. So you may want to tune in for
- 1:26:08that one because he's going to have a lot of behind the scenes
- 1:26:12behind the, the behind the curtain tips and tricks for you
- 1:26:18there. So make sure to, to tune into
- 1:26:21that. Yeah, they, they do some some
- 1:26:24great grand. Miraculous does some great
- 1:26:26stuff. Last week they did Captain EO.
- 1:26:28This week they're doing Muppet Vision 3D.
- 1:26:31So be sure to tune up with his dad who helped make the
- 1:26:35attraction. Folks, that's crazy.
- 1:26:38And his granddad helped build Epcot TuneIn.
- 1:26:45Tonight at 9:30 when this show ends, we will be sending you to
- 1:26:49Magic Kingdom for a little bit more fun.
- 1:26:51Murray's Adventure, who normally streams in Disneyland Paris, is
- 1:26:55visiting the East Coast of the US and he is streaming.
- 1:27:00They are. So we will drop you over there
- 1:27:03for a little bit more fun. Sounds good.
- 1:27:07I want to thank you all for watching us live.
- 1:27:09We do this live because we do it for you and anyone.
- 1:27:12We appreciate all of you who if you're, if you're watching, if
- 1:27:16you don't, you know, watch us live because it's the timing
- 1:27:19isn't right or you just prefer, prefer your podcasts on the
- 1:27:23other outlets. We can get your podcasts, Apple,
- 1:27:25iHeartRadio, Amazon and Spotify. Send us an e-mail at the
- 1:27:29dizpod@gmail.com and just let us know, you know, how do you
- 1:27:33watch? Is it in the car?
- 1:27:35Is it mowing the lawn? Because I know somebody does it
- 1:27:36while they're mowing the lawn. You know, what are you doing
- 1:27:39when you listen to your podcast and, you know, just give us a
- 1:27:43little details so we know you're out there.
- 1:27:44It would be great. Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:27:47Love that. Love that.
- 1:27:49Yeah, and I'll make one more announcement and we'll have to
- 1:27:51keep hitting it up on it. So next Wednesdays, are you not
- 1:27:54with me in spirit, electrical spirit, electronic spirit?
- 1:28:01I don't think so. OK, hopefully the appropriate
- 1:28:07app will work fine and know it had issues before, but are we
- 1:28:11back on track with that? Do you know it?
- 1:28:12Should be good. OK, and then I will say this.
- 1:28:16I said this for a couple years now and the time has come.
- 1:28:20A week from this Saturdays. This is news to Lawrence too.
- 1:28:23A week from this Saturdays I will stream, but it's going to
- 1:28:28be like a rope drop from magic. Maybe magic.
- 1:28:33It's going to be a rope drop. Probably magic though, because
- 1:28:38it's Jacob's prom. So I, I, I need to be there for
- 1:28:41this one, you know, for the photo session and all that.
- 1:28:44Maybe we'll take him for dinner or something.
- 1:28:45I'm not sure. So going to be there for that.
- 1:28:48So I'm thinking stream from morning till we'll kind of feel
- 1:28:51it out. Maybe it's one, maybe it's two
- 1:28:54kind of thing. Just kind of feel out the crowd
- 1:28:56and how things are going. We'll determine how long we go,
- 1:28:59OK, but so it'll be a Saturday stream in two weeks rather than
- 1:29:03Saturday evening? All right, that's good.
- 1:29:06I'm off. Yeah, that's good.
- 1:29:08Cool. Cool, cool, cool, cool.
- 1:29:12All right, everyone, thank you so much for joining us.
- 1:29:15And it means the world to us. And we'll see you tomorrow Night
- 1:29:19Live from Magic Kingdom. So for now, we're just a couple
- 1:29:24of Bros talking Disney. Good night everyone.
- 1:29:27Good night everybody.
