• 0:10
Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on? Everybody?
• 0:11
Speaker 2: Welcome into this edition of the Czech O'delli. It's Andrew
• 0:14
Speaker 2: Decheco here from inside the Birds dot Com checking in
• 0:17
Speaker 2: as the Eagles on this Saturday afternoon made.
• 0:20
Speaker 1: A practice squad elevation announcement.
• 0:22
Speaker 2: Tight end e J Jenkins will be available and active
• 0:25
Speaker 2: Sunday afternoon at one o'clock when the Eagles take on
• 0:27
Speaker 2: those Minnesota Vikings at us Bank Stadium. So the Eagles
• 0:31
Speaker 2: tight ends this week will be tight end Dallas Goddard,
• 0:35
Speaker 2: Kylon Grantson, e J Jenkins, and Cam Lattu, who really
• 0:39
Speaker 2: doubles as a fullback within the context of the Eagles offense,
• 0:42
Speaker 2: but he's a tight end by trade.
• 0:45
Speaker 1: But what's interesting is that last week.
• 0:47
Speaker 2: When Grant Kakata didn't play with the oblique, it was,
• 0:52
Speaker 2: you know, they kind of kept the status quo with
• 0:54
Speaker 2: the tight end room. They didn't elevate EJ. They didn't
• 0:57
Speaker 2: make any alterations to the tight end room. But this
• 0:59
Speaker 2: week they do, which is interesting because if you've listened.
• 1:02
Speaker 1: To me throughout the summer, I've maintained that EJ.
• 1:04
Speaker 2: Jenkins is the second best blocking tight end on the
• 1:07
Speaker 2: Eagles roster behind Dallas Goddard. You can make the case
• 1:10
Speaker 2: that Cam Latu has sort of leap frogged him there.
• 1:13
Speaker 2: Cam Latsuo, I've been very bullish on I've talked a
• 1:15
Speaker 2: lot about him. I've noted his blocking efficiency in training camp.
• 1:19
Speaker 1: But the addition of Jenkins.
• 1:22
Speaker 2: And you couple that with Latu and Goddard, it gives
• 1:25
Speaker 2: the Eagles more beef and more physicality at the point of.
• 1:29
Speaker 1: Attack, particularly as it pertains to the running game.
• 1:33
Speaker 2: So in theory, if they were to lean on that,
• 1:35
Speaker 2: and this should be a big week for Saquon Barkley.
• 1:38
Speaker 2: You want to optimize your personnel. Of course, they're shorthanded
• 1:41
Speaker 2: at tight end, so that was their logical elevation. Jaheim
• 1:45
Speaker 2: Bell was just signed this week, But I think there's
• 1:48
Speaker 2: more to it. Jenkins can play on special teams and
• 1:51
Speaker 2: he is a very proficient blocker, so that should help
• 1:54
Speaker 2: the Eagles maybe create some more running lanes for Saquon
• 1:58
Speaker 2: Barkley if they utilize ej as an inline blocker, which
• 2:02
Speaker 2: he's certainly adept at doing. I'm curious to see if
• 2:05
Speaker 2: they move a little bit off of Kylin Granson, who
• 2:08
Speaker 2: they've used a lot as an inline blocker.
• 2:11
Speaker 1: In the offense, and that's not really what he.
• 2:13
Speaker 2: Suited to do, and it leaves the Eagles shorthanded there
• 2:17
Speaker 2: in that regard. But that's a move that obviously makes
• 2:21
Speaker 2: a ton of sense right now, and there was talk
• 2:24
Speaker 2: earlier in the week, well, I guess, I guess I
• 2:26
Speaker 2: should say little speculation when rookie corner Brandon Johnson was
• 2:30
Speaker 2: working with Dori Jackson and Quinjon Mitchell with Christian Parker
• 2:34
Speaker 2: to start Thursday's practice. Normally it's always Quinnon Mitchell and
• 2:39
Speaker 2: Adorri Jackson, but they don't usually have anybody else who
• 2:42
Speaker 2: works out with them, and Johnson was there probably just
• 2:45
Speaker 2: to get him up to speed or work on some
• 2:47
Speaker 2: things in the event that they were short handed at corner,
• 2:50
Speaker 2: but of course quenya On Mitchell was full go.
• 2:52
Speaker 1: So that point is sort of no and void.
• 2:55
Speaker 2: I wouldn't be surprised if down the line they look
• 2:58
Speaker 2: to get Brandon Johnson from a cornerback perspective, especially if
• 3:04
Speaker 2: they're happy with his progress and they think that he
• 3:06
Speaker 2: can kind of help them and create more optionality. So
• 3:10
Speaker 2: that's the situation right now in terms of the Eagles
• 3:13
Speaker 2: roster moves, and they only they of course had the
• 3:16
Speaker 2: option to elevate two players, they went with one.
• 3:18
Speaker 1: They're a largely healthy roster, and now the question.
• 3:21
Speaker 2: Becomes the health surrounding Landon Dickerson and Jalen Carter, who
• 3:27
Speaker 2: are both are listed as questionable. Dickerson with the ankle
• 3:31
Speaker 2: and Carter with the heel. We'll see because Dickerson, as
• 3:37
Speaker 2: we've talked Dad Nauseam about, will play through and power
• 3:41
Speaker 2: through any injury, and sometimes it's up to the team
• 3:44
Speaker 2: to maybe save the player from himself and allow him
• 3:47
Speaker 2: another week to kind of get healthier. But Landon Dickerson,
• 3:51
  Speaker 2: as I've said, I've it's remarkable. He's tough as nails,
• 3:54
Speaker 2: But that one I'll be keeping an eye on. If
• 3:56
Speaker 2: not Landon Dickerson, it will be Brett Toath at left
• 3:59
Speaker 2: guard against the Vikings defensive line that's a little bit undersized.
• 4:03
Speaker 1: We've talked about Javon Hargrave, Jalen Redmond.
• 4:07
  Speaker 2: Redman's a bigger body type of player and he's I
• 4:10
Speaker 2: guess the most adept at stopping them run. But then
• 4:12
Speaker 2: they have Jonathan Allen there as well. It's an undersized
• 4:15
Speaker 2: front really versed in rushing the passer. So this should
• 4:19
Speaker 2: at least on paper, play into the Eagles hands and
• 4:22
Speaker 2: what they want to do offensively and foundationally, which is
• 4:25
Speaker 2: imposer will set the tone and get the running game going,
• 4:28
Speaker 2: which should theoretically open up things in the passing game
• 4:31
Speaker 2: and create more optionality and force defenses to play them
• 4:34
Speaker 2: a little bit more.
• 4:35

• 8:05
Speaker 3: and an experience made for Philly fans twenty one and up.
• 8:10
Speaker 2: And as for Carter, well, we'll have to wait and
• 8:14
Speaker 2: see because he was close against the Giants, which he said.
• 8:19
Speaker 1: He also said Wednesday.
• 8:21
Speaker 2: That he was going to play this week, but he
• 8:23
Speaker 2: started out full and then the last two days of
• 8:25
Speaker 2: the week he was downgraded to limited, and then, of course,
• 8:28
Speaker 2: on the official game status was listed as questionable for
• 8:33
  Speaker 2: the game.
• 8:33
  Speaker 1: So we'll see.
• 8:34
Speaker 2: What that all means, and that might be something that
• 8:38
Speaker 2: he plays through, but I'm not necessarily sure if he'd
• 8:41
Speaker 2: be able to finish the game with that, especially given
• 8:44
Speaker 2: the snap share that he pretty much undertakes every time
• 8:47
Speaker 2: he's out there. He plays almost every snap or at
• 8:50
Speaker 2: least the lion's share of the snaps. And if he's
• 8:53
Speaker 2: not out there, the Eagles have enough bodies there to
• 8:56
Speaker 2: assume that loss. But when Jalen Carter's in there, even
• 9:00
Speaker 2: if he hasn't been quite his dominant self this year
• 9:03
Speaker 2: to start, he is able to kind of command double
• 9:07
Speaker 2: teams and free up teammates to make plays, and in turn,
• 9:10
Speaker 2: the edge rushers should be able to clean up and
• 9:13
Speaker 2: take advantage of that.
• 9:14
Speaker 1: But those are my two things that I'll be keeping
• 9:16
Speaker 1: an eye on. The injury.
• 9:17
Speaker 2: The inactive list, i should say, is released at eleven thirty,
• 9:22
Speaker 2: so everyone's eyes are certainly be peeled to see the
• 9:25
Speaker 2: status of two marquee players on both sides of the
• 9:29
Speaker 2: line for the Eagles.
• 9:30
Speaker 1: But for now this has been to check odally.
• 9:33
Speaker 2: I'm Andrew to Checko, and I will talk to everybody
• 9:35
Speaker 2: in a podcast that I'll be doing after the game
• 9:38
Speaker 2: to give you all my thoughts and immediate takeaways. I
• 9:41
Speaker 2: will catch you on the next one.
