Transcript
- 0:00Hey sis, welcome to Girl Date the Good Guy podcast, the space where we strip
- 0:04away the noise and get real about toxic cycles, healing, and stepping into the love God has for us.
- 0:10I'm your host, Emily Jordan, and I've been where you are, heartbroken,
- 0:14confused, and chasing love that didn't come,
- 0:24Hey sis, today we're diving into how to tell when someone was sent to hurt you
- 0:28versus when someone was sent to heal you.
- 0:32Because sis, both come wrapped in charm.
- 0:35Both can look like love, but only one leads you closer to God.
- 0:40Here's the thing nobody tells you. The devil studies your patterns too.
- 0:45He knows the kind of man you fall for, the one that talks just right,
- 0:49looks just right, says all the right things, but what you don't see is the assignment behind it.
- 0:56See, the enemy doesn't always come to destroy with chaos at first.
- 1:01Sometimes he comes dressed as your type. He sends someone that mirrors your
- 1:05wounds, not your healing, someone that feeds your fear of being alone,
- 1:10someone that reminds you of the love you wanted so badly to work before.
- 1:15It's not always obvious.
- 1:18In fact, it usually feels like finally.
- 1:21Finally, someone who understands me. Finally, someone who sees me.
- 1:26But before you know it, you're losing peace, doubting yourself,
- 1:30questioning your worth, and shrinking the woman you were becoming just to keep their love.
- 1:35That's not God. That's a trap.
- 1:38When God sends someone, their love doesn't demand your peace as payment.
- 1:44They don't manipulate you, drain you, or make you question your value.
- 1:48When God sends someone, it feels like rest, like Excel, like the noise in your
- 1:55head finally goes quiet.
- 1:58God's person doesn't heal you for him. They heal you with him.
- 2:02They don't want to replace God. They remind you to return to him.
- 2:07Their presence doesn't pull you off of your purpose. It aligns you deeper in
- 2:12it. And you know how you can tell the difference?
- 2:16The devil's person will break you and call it love. God's person will build
- 2:20you and call it partnership.
- 2:23But here's the part we can't skip. You have to be healed enough to discern the difference.
- 2:30If you're still carrying wounds from the one the devil sent,
- 2:34you'll reject the one God sent.
- 2:37Because real love will feel unfamiliar after pain. It will feel calm and you'll think it's boring.
- 2:45It will feel safe and you'll think it's fake.
- 2:48It will feel easy and you think it's too good to be true.
- 2:53Sis, that's not boring. That's peace.
- 2:57That's what you prayed for. But peace will always feel foreign to a heart that's only known chaos.
- 3:04So before you start praying for the one, ask God to heal the part of you that keeps choosing almost.
- 3:12The devil's goal was to break your heart so you'd build walls.
- 3:18God's goal is to heal your heart so you'll build discernment.
- 3:23One teaches you to fear love. The other teaches you to trust God.
- 3:28So yes, the devil sent someone to hurt you. but God is sending someone to show
- 3:33you that love doesn't have to hurt to be holy. Let's pray.
- 3:40Father, thank you for revealing that not every connection is divine.
- 3:44Give us the discernment to know the difference between distraction and destiny.
- 3:49Heal the parts of us that confuse chaos with chemistry and prepare our hearts
- 3:54for the love that reflects you.
- 3:56In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
- 4:00If this episode spoke to you, take a moment and breathe.

- 4:08sis. He's just shifting the cast.
