- 1:01SPEAKER_02: I'm so excited to have her here today.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: We are like new and fast friends, which is always fun in my little world through connection from Rossi Manka.
- 1:10SPEAKER_02: And ironically, today, well, today is October 21st.
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: Her episode posted today, episode 270, and she connected us.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: And I had heard about Jen and what she's doing.
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, oh my gosh, I want to, I want to meet her.
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: We got to have her on the podcast, got to hear her story.
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: So here she is today.
- 1:29SPEAKER_02: And she is also for the month of October one of our partners for Hope Unlocked sponsor partners to help get the word out about what she's doing.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: So there's a lot of good stuff happening here in October.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: So before we get into your story and what God has you doing these days, could you just tell us a little bit about you?
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: So, Kristen, thank you so much for having me and have to meet your audience.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Hi, everybody.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: I am Jen Manswell.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: If you hear a bit of an accent, it is because I am from Trinidad.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Whenever I get angry, whenever I get frustrated, whenever I get excited, I go straight into our Trinidadian colloquialisms.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: So if any of that happens on you might have to share like one of those right now.
- 2:10SPEAKER_02: Do you have one that comes right to mind?
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: If any of this comes off on this podcast, you have to help me understand that you're confused and you could ask me to fix a fix a word or translate something.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 2:23unknown: Sounds okay.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: So beautiful.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: So what is a Trinidadian doing in America?
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: You know, I started my journey in the United States in South Carolina, where I, you know, got a full ride to do my undergraduate studies.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: And then I moved to Wisconsin.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: From pleasing cold to do my master's program.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: And people keep asking me, well, how is it you got there?
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: I said a free education is what keeps me warm at night.
- 2:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Then I kept getting good jobs.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: Today I am, apart from being, you know, a professional marketer, I am also a professional performing artist.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: I started out in choral music.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: I've been singing classical music for a very long time, tradition to transition to Negro Spirituals in South Carolina.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: I'm still doing a lot of classical work.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: And then someone had the audacity to allow me to run their theater company for a while because you know, choral music sort of transitions into musical theater and then musical theater into theater.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: And then someone said, Oh, you can have a theater now, run it.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: When I was in South, when I when I moved to Wisconsin, I joined this lovely church called Faith Builders.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: Pastors are fabulous.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: And they, the first time I attended the service, I walked in and there was literally a yellow brick road in the in the entryway.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: And I go, what is happening?
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: Time the service was over, I was clutching my pearls and raising my hand.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: I want to join, let me do makeup.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Within 10 months of doing that, they handed me the theater, the reins of the theater ministry.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: And I ran that ministry for four years, directed 26 shows.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: And what's lovely about the way they do theater is it's full-on productions from casts of as small as 12 and as big as 100 and everything in between, right?
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: We even had lions and and you know zoo animals in the con in the in the in the sanctuary at one point.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: That's that's how out there, like real lions.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, still have video.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: Oh my goodness.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Did you come up with that idea?
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Oh no, that was totally Pastor Jeff.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: I just worked all right, all right.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: But the point is, is that uh, you know, we would produce these shows, or Pastor Jeff would produce the shows, I would direct them for the purposes of for the purposes of evangelism.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: So at the end of every show, instead of a curtain call, there was an altar call.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: Little did I know that that was my call, right?
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: So, you know, as I was working on the theater ministry, as a matter of fact, before he even asked me to run it, I was just doing makeup, right?
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: I was doing foundations and shadows and blah blah blah blah blah.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: And the Lord put the words parable productions in my spirit.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: And I go, tell more, Jesus.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: Um over time started to show me that I would the model that I was enhancing, because they already had a model, but I was enhancing the model based on my professional background.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: The model that I was enhancing was a model that I would adopt and take into take into the streets, take into on tour and take on the road.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: And then the Lord added the other elements to parable.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: Now I'll tell you what those elements are, but uh focusing on the shows specifically.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: So the so the Lord said, you know, I want you to start producing these shows, and they are meant to be an evangelical tool that is given to institutions, ministries, so a church, a ministerial organization, right?
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: And my job is to provide the tool so that they can leverage that tool for outreach.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Their job is to disciple.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: So now it's a ministry partnership, right?
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: God says, and you give it for free.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: I go, sir.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: These things cost, right?
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: Don't worry about it, I'll pay for it.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: And so the first time we did this was this past July.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Because, and I'll tell you more about Parable Productions now, and then I'll segue back because that's my style.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: Uh, we uh we leverage stories from in the word of God, we leverage stories from within the community and the world, you know, we tell other people's stories, we tell our own stories, but the entire point is to help people understand that the word of God is relevant to their everyday lives, that God has an answer to every single question that you can possibly ask in his word, and that he cares about everything that's going on in the journey.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: So there's always the invitation of come try him, right?
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: Come talk, right?
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: Come re-engage.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: Challenges in the world today is that people don't think think that the Bible is relevant anymore.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: I remember one gentleman gentleman telling me it's the most antiquated book in the world.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: Then I go, but did you know that?
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: And he goes, huh?
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: I did not know that.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and did you know that?
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: And eyes light up because there's an interesting deception that has happened that states that the Bible just doesn't track with my everyday life, but you don't know what I am going through, but you don't know what I struggle with.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and still the word of God says that there's nothing new under the sun.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: So everything that is illuminated in God's word exists today.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: And what's beautiful is the promises that Jesus Christ died for us to have access to produces the answers to those questions, right?
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: Example Be anxious for nothing, but in all things, through prayer supplication, and with thanksgiving, make your request known.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: And the peace of God that passes on with understanding will guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: Now, what that scripture is saying is here's how not to be anxious.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: And we're in a world today where people are struggling with anxiety and struggling with fear and struggling with tension.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: The Bible is very clear about how not to be anxious.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he says, pray, come talk to me.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: Tell me what's going on, like lay it out to me.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: Tell me everything.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: That's what supplication is.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then give me thanks.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: And the reason you're doing that is because it's an act of faith, it's a it's a posture of faith, right?
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: Because you've prayed, you've told me what the problem is.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: Now you're giving me thanks because you know I'm gonna take care of it.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: That's my character, says the Lord, right?
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: And if you do that, if you pray, if you tell me the problem, and if you thank me, I'm gonna give you peace.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's the solution, right?
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: That's the answer.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying that people shouldn't take medications and things of that nature, that's not what I'm saying.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: I'm saying that there is an answer to every problem in the Bible, there is a response to every challenge in the word of God, and what Jesus did when he was on the earth was he leveraged storytelling to articulate that, yes, especially to the so this is why he asked me very delicately, we're gonna do this.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: And I go, okay.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so so cycling back then to the structure of parable, it started with theater because that is pretty much where my bre bread is buttered, you know, music and theater are my core performing, let's say, identities, if you will.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: But then as God revealed the structures, because how many of us know that God doesn't just give us a vision, but he gives us the plan?
- 10:38SPEAKER_01: So he got the plan for me.
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: The structure of Parable Productions is that it is organized in five divisions.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: So we have film, we have theater, we have publishing, we have television, and we have digital, a digital ecosystem, right?
- 10:55SPEAKER_01: And last year I published my first two books for two different ministers, right?
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: And I was like, well, God, you know, I woke up one morning, I was like, okay, let's be a publisher today.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Did I know how to be a publisher?
- 11:09SPEAKER_02: I love it, I love it.
- 11:10SPEAKER_02: Tell us, tell us about that process because he gave you the plan.
- 11:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: And how did that plan map map out for you?
- 11:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, the the marketing story and my marketing background helps a lot because being in the corporate world for marketing, and my master's in is is in in multicultural global communications, right?
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: So having a master's in communications, having a marketing background for 20, how many of your years, um, puts you in a situation where you're exposed to different mediums of communication, right?
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: So film, theater, television, publishing, da-da-da.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: I was exposed to all of it.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: Does not mean I have expertise in it, just means I was exposed to it.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: But I was exposed enough to understand how to begin.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: And then literally the Lord taught me the rest.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: So I'll I'll go back to theater.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: Being a director of theater, as in a person that directs a show, as well as a person that assembles the show, because that's what I was doing, is as different from being a singer as being a carpenter and being a surgeon.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: The the the brain that you use is the side of the brain that you use for each discipline is different.
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: The requirements are different, the focus is different.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: At one point, I tried to direct and perform and it did not work because my brains were fighting against each other.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: There are some that can.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: I I'm not wired that way.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: And I'm okay with embracing.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: You're okay with that.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, I have some organizational, some level of organizational skills that the Lord was like, I'm gonna teach you how to direct.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: And what would happen is that I would have a script, I would have a sense of how a show should go, and then I would get in front of the cast, and the Holy Spirit would literally tell me what to do.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: It's amazing.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: Turn by turn, shift by shift, key by key.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: No, I want you to place them there.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: No, angle them this way.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: No, you don't like that.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: Shift it.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: This is literally how I learned how to direct.
- 13:58SPEAKER_02: Somebody needs to hear that again because they're you're maybe out there, you know, getting some ideas.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: You're like, how?
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: Well, listen into Jen.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, the literally, and it was that experience.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: I'll tell you something too.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: Toggling back to my my singing background.
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: So I learned to sing by listening.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: I did not learn to sing by going to classes.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: I would sit and I would identify songs that I loved, it would break down the song structure in my head for me.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: Somehow I understood the harmonies, somehow I understood how to assemble the harmonies.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: Somehow I, you know what I mean?
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: It would just come to me.
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: And the So you had never been trained, like music.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: I have never been I can't say I've never formally trained, but when I started, I hadn't been formally trained.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: Started in choral music.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: Of course, you're getting training from the directors.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: But it's enough training to get the show done.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: It's not enough training to polish you as a full-on professional.
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: Can I ask you a really quick question about that?
- 15:05SPEAKER_02: So, you know, I've seen people standing when they're reading like a song and there's the notes on the paper.
- 15:11SPEAKER_02: I've I've never been trained musically.
- 15:13SPEAKER_02: Are they like actually, do they know what those notes mean?
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: Do you did you know what those notes meant like when you were singing?
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: I still don't fully know.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: Because that's what I was wondering.
- 15:24SPEAKER_01: To guide me in the song, which which is called learning by rote, right?
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: You learn by listening and you learn by making the note associations with the sounds.
- 15:35unknown: Okay.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: So when I am in core, when I am in a chorus, like the last chorus I was with was the with the Milwaukee Symphony.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: I would get the scores.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: I knew enough to understand beats and rhythms and things like that, but I wasn't as versed as my co-singers, my choral mates, right?
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: To say that I can sit there and read and sing from a score.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: I I never fully learned how to read music.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: But those that do do, because the notes got sorry, the the symbols guide the notes.
- 16:11SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 16:11SPEAKER_02: But you were able to like basically like Holy Spirit was leading you from what I'm understanding here, like in everything.
- 16:18SPEAKER_02: Like you also have a gift of listening, too.
- 16:22SPEAKER_02: And I think that's a really big key is that you were able to listen not only to maybe people around you, because it's just a different way of learning, right?
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: It is a different way of learning.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: And you know, I would have sometimes people say to me, Well, you didn't study here, you didn't study there.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: So because I didn't have the credential, apparently I wasn't good at it.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: However, I said to myself, before there was a con credential, there's a God, and he is the ultimate craftsman, right?
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: If you look at any aspect of the world, you'll realize how beautifully built the world is, and he is an artist through and through.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: Now, it doesn't mean that I in any way demonize anyone who wants to perfect the art because I also believe it's important for us to give God our best.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: And sometimes that means going to school, getting the formal training, etc.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: I just understood that you know, I sang because I loved it.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: I didn't sing because I wanted to make it a career.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: If I wanted to make it a career, I would have studied.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: If I just loved it, little did I know that would turn into a production company later on in my years, right?
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: And I still like literally miss singing.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: I was telling a friend of mine yesterday, I need to find a group that I can just crash and grab a mic and and belt out stuff, you know, because it's the core of me.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: The Lord wakes me up every morning with a song.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: That's how we begin first thing in the morning, right?
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: So what was your song today?
- 17:50SPEAKER_02: I'm putting you on the spot.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: It was it was faithful.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: He was reminding me of how faithful he is, and that sometimes it runs for a couple of days because he's yeah to address something, and sometimes him talking directly to me is not as effective as him singing to me.
- 18:07SPEAKER_02: So yeah, we have that in common too.
- 18:10SPEAKER_02: Would you sing a little bit of that song?
- 18:11SPEAKER_02: You want to?
- 18:12SPEAKER_02: We can practice.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: We have to, but I mean, you faithful.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: That's all I know right now.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's all we need, that's all we needed right now.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: I can't remember the the phrase at the moment, but anyway, yeah, that's that's how that goes.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: Beautiful.
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: Y'all didn't hear that.
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: That was just we we did, it was amazing.
- 18:37SPEAKER_02: From my end, it was beautiful.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: So thank you.
- 18:40SPEAKER_02: I make a joyful noise on my end.
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: I mean that's what I do.
- 18:45SPEAKER_02: I he's like, you keep singing, girl.
- 18:47SPEAKER_02: Nobody else might want to hear you for me personally.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: He wants to hear me.
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: Your voice is beautiful, so yes, definitely keep singing.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: That was his that was his gift to me.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: I mean, I learned how to direct by him.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: I literally learned how to direct by him, and I love it because there are actors who still work with me today who will say, Do you remember when the Holy Spirit told you do this?
- 19:13SPEAKER_01: And we thought you were crazy, and then it worked out, you know.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: So I I just absolutely love love the fact that I learned from the Lord and I'm still learning from the Lord every day.
- 19:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: Um, can I ask you a question about the directing too?
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: Do you mind?
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: Sure, sure, sure.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: When when he because I I've I sense that you're you're not one to like question it too much.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: Like you're one who kind of steps into something without knowing.
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: But is there any like dialogue happening with you?
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: Like, are you sure?
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: Do you ask these questions?
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: Like, Lord, are you sure?
- 19:44SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't know what I'm doing.
- 19:46SPEAKER_02: Like, is there anything internally happening, or are you just like, you said it, I do it?
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: I I'm I am the I'm the I'm the you said it, I do it, girl.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: So I actually just got off of a business meeting prior to this call, and my cohort was saying to me, you know, the Lord said to me that you've forgotten that you have this.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: We should really do this.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: I go, Yeah, but I can't really afford to do this.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but the Lord said, I said, well, ma'am, if the Lord said, let's go, and he will pay for it.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: That was that's real time, like today kind of thing.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: Real time literally prior to this this call.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: I I I, you know, if we trust him, we trust him.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: And I cannot say that I was always that way.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: And I and I have been trying to do a better job of giving giving myself grace when I do falter into the questioning, right?
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: It's not, I mean, God says questioning, questioning, but there's a difference between questioning and procrastinating because you're worried, right?
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: And a lot of times we do that because we're scared, we're worried, that type of thing.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: I did not come to a place easily of instantly following God readily.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: And one of the things that I often tell people is give yourself some grace because it takes time to develop the habit of surrendering your will to God.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: You know, I I remember when I started that journey, I was 45 years old when I started that one, and and the Lord was like, But you've spent 45 years doing your own thing.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: It's gonna take a minute for your nervous system to agree with me.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes, your mind may agree with me, your heart may agree with me, but your nervous system, it's its own wild animal, and it's going to take its time to fall in line.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: But it's like a workout, right?
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: The more you do it, the more comfortable it becomes.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: So when I hear God says, and that doesn't necessarily mean everybody that says to me, God says, I'm gonna run with it, but if God says, and then someone says, God says, and it settles in my spirit that that is true, let's go.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: You know, and and one of the reasons that that is important to me is because I recognize that God is better at this life thing than I ever could ever be.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: He is way better at it, and uh he is perfect in it and it is perfected in it.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: When there's a situation that he deals with, it's dealt with completely.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: There are never any loose ends, there's never anything to revisit or go back to because He's such a perfect God.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: He is a masterful God in the way he orchestrates our life.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: And so I would rather him fix it than me ever fix it.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: Because whenever I try to fix it, there's some there's some bolts and nuts that you need to table, and we're not too sure if that structure is sturdy enough.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: Maybe it might fall in two days to get it fixed.
- 22:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: But when God does it, it's perfect.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: So when He is when I am aware of Him pointing me in a particular direction, even when the feeling of fear comes, I don't let the spirit of fear reside.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: That's gonna be a difference, right?
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: The you you you may feel the fear, you may yeah, because your nervous system is conditioned, danger, danger for being the lion in the church.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: Nope, we're not doing this.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: That's crazy.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: Don't get a job after you were laid off.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: Crazy top, right?
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: Like that that's my story too.
- 23:35SPEAKER_02: Was that was that 45?
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: Was that no?
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: I'm curious what the 45 like, what was that pivot point for you?
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: Oh, God confronted me hard.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: He looked at me dead in my eye.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: At least this is how I describe it.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: He wasn't actually in front of me, but yeah, one of my pastors was preaching, and I was home at the time, and I was hearing a word, and he said to me, He said, Either you believe me or you don't.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: And it wasn't a gentle message, it was an ultimatum.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: It was it was almost as if God was frustrated with me.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: He goes, Either you believe me or you don't.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: Either you follow my path or you do not.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: Okay, but you need to stop operating in your own will and in your own strength.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: I'm literally trying to lead you to my vision for your life, and you're just doing your own thing.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: So either you believe what I tell you, yeah, you don't.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: This was right after I had a heartbreak.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: And my history in personal heartbreaks is they become self-fulfilling prophecies, right?
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: So you suffer a heartbreak, and then you say to yourself, I'm not worthy of whatever it is from that heartbreak.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: And then, you know, Job says, Whatever you fear comes upon you, so it comes again.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: And you see, look, I'm not worthy, I'm not this.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: God was like, No, I'm telling you, da da da da.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: And I'm buying into my own understanding because the the the traumas that I suffered from that heartbreak is telling me that if I believe God, I'm gonna get hurt again.
- 25:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's a common thing that people deal with, right?
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's a common thing.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: But here's here's the challenge with that.
- 25:31SPEAKER_01: And this was God confronting me now, you know, not baby Christian anymore.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he goes, Whose report are you going to believe?
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: Are you going to believe the truth of your traumas or are you going to believe me?
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: Are you going to believe what people have said to you, or are you going to believe me?
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: Are you going to believe what you've said of yourself, or are you going to believe me?
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: Because if you believe anything other than me, you are exalting your understanding above my word.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: Well, I was humbled to the word, right?
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: Humbled all the way down.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: And it wasn't God condemning me at all.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: Because it's not like if he doesn't understand how trauma informs our perception.
- 26:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: What he was inviting me to do was to follow the scripture that says, lean not onto your own understanding.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: So then I started to compute it in my mind.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: Okay, if I'm leaning into an understanding that isn't lined up with the word of God, I've got some work to do.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: I've got some work to do in scripture.
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: I've got to imbibe the truth of his word.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: I've got to meditate that thing until it becomes my truth, until I only see the world through the eyes of that word as opposed to what was done to me, or through that word as opposed to how I was hurt my life.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: And it doesn't mean that God doesn't care about the hurt.
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: But in the Bible, there are so many pathways to receiving healing.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: He says, Come unto me, all you are who are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: He says, Cast your cares upon me.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: Let me tell you how I describe that part.
- 27:20SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 27:21SPEAKER_02: I was actually gonna ask you a question about that.
- 27:23SPEAKER_02: So I'm glad you're going.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: When he says, cast your cares, whenever I see that, I see a psychiatrist, I see a couch, I see me laying on the couch and me telling him all my troubles.
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: Like God is literally your shrink.
- 27:37SPEAKER_02: That's good.
- 27:38SPEAKER_02: So, like, and you can do that anytime, anywhere, any day.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: He says, Come tell me.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: You don't need insurance either.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: Just saying.
- 27:51unknown: Exactly.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: Come tell me.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: There's something so liberating about telling God your troubles.
- 28:01SPEAKER_01: It is your way of unburdening it and leaving it at the cross so you don't carry it with you.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:07SPEAKER_02: How do you, how do you share with him?
- 28:10SPEAKER_02: Are you, you know, I know everybody is different.
- 28:12SPEAKER_02: Like some people like to verbalize, some people like to journal.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: Some, you know, if somebody's listening in today, just maybe get some ideas of how you've been able to do that and, you know, kind of release what's within.
- 28:24SPEAKER_01: There's an insight that I I and I don't know how true this is or not.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's backed up by science, maybe it's just an observation.
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: But I've realized that the Lord speaks to us in the best ways that we learn.
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: So I am an auditory learner.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: I learn by hearing, which means we speak.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: Because I have to hear myself say it and I have to hear him talk.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: And a lot of people go, Well, I've never heard God talk to me.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: God talks in a myriad of ways, right?
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: Parable productions has multiple communications vehicles.
- 28:55SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: Communicates in a myriad of ways.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: So then ask yourself, how do you learn?
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: Some people learn by writing it down.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: So journaling is effective for them.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: Some people learn by having a conversation, some people learn by inspiration, some people learn by seeing something.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: And I found that when God wants to, for me anyway, for when the Lord wants to get a message across, I'm hearing and we're speaking directly.
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: But it isn't necessarily true for everyone.
- 29:26SPEAKER_01: And I think the way you learn is a signal to that.
- 29:30SPEAKER_02: That's really good.
- 29:31SPEAKER_02: I've never really thought about that before.
- 29:33SPEAKER_02: So if you're more of an auditory, like, are you ever I don't do you ever record yourself like casting your cars?
- 29:40SPEAKER_02: Do you ever do anything like that and then listen back?
- 29:42SPEAKER_02: Have you ever done anything like that before?
- 29:44SPEAKER_02: Because I heard somebody talk about that maybe even the last week.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: I personally don't because I'm a I want to move forward person.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: If I unburden, I want to leave it where it is.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: I don't necessarily want to revisit.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: There's value in revisiting something to be reminded of what God did.
- 30:02SPEAKER_01: But at the same time, for me, and I'm not in any way demonizing anybody, that for them it's it's effective.
- 30:10SPEAKER_01: For me, it's sort of like going back to the thing that you just left behind.
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: So we talk about it, we resolve it, and then I get to practice the word of God in that particular situation.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: And I use the word practice specifically because much of the challenges that come my way into even now, I'm still dealing with certain challenges in my own members, right?
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: They're habits, they are bad habits.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: I have a bad habit of beating myself over stuff.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: I have a bad habit of thinking that I'm unworthy of things.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: I have a bad habit of overworking.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: That's a really bad habit, etc.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: etc.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: These are some of the bad habits that I don't mind.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: And I I'm on open book, I'll share all business, right?
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: Thank you for being vulnerable.
- 31:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because we all have our things, right?
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: We all have our things.
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: But once I recognize what that bad habit is, the step is what does the word say?
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: What does the word of God say about this thing?
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: Um I sent a scripture that talks about the fact that I am God's workmanship.
- 31:24SPEAKER_01: Wait a minute now, hold on a second.
- 31:27SPEAKER_01: If the Lord took his time to sit in front of a mirror and take a carving knife and carve the image of me out of the image of him, how am I not unworthy?
- 31:38SPEAKER_01: How am I unworthy?
- 31:39SPEAKER_01: Right, he built me.
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's like telling the craftsman your craft is crap.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: Your craft is crap.
- 31:47SPEAKER_01: No, it's not be terrible.
- 31:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm I'm I'm like butamus.
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm just exactly, you know, I'm phenomenal.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: Yes, because he chose to create me.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes, I have made a myriad of mistakes in my life.
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: Yes, there are many things that I repent for on a daily basis, but he says perfect love covers a multitude of sin.
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: He also says that there is nothing, nothing that will separate you from the love of God.
- 32:24SPEAKER_01: Absolutely nothing.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: There's no part of me that would ever be rejected by the Father.
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: So just because I suffered rejection in my life doesn't mean I am rejected.
- 32:37SPEAKER_01: Just because I suffered abuse in my life doesn't mean I am worthy of abuse.
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: Then you sit back and you go, okay, why is this stuff happening?
- 32:49SPEAKER_01: That's a whole other conversation.
- 32:51SPEAKER_02: But the the why question.
- 32:53SPEAKER_01: Why question?
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: Why did it happen?
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: Why did it happen to me?
- 32:57SPEAKER_01: Why did it?
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: Well, we have an enemy.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: That's the other part that a lot of people sort of forget, right?
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: Why did God allow this to occur?
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: Why did God make this happen?
- 33:11SPEAKER_01: Well, the way we're supposed to live with God is that we're supposed to live with him in lockstep.
- 33:19SPEAKER_01: He finished his job after seven days.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: He's still resting.
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: That's quite a thought, isn't it?
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: He's still lounging, you know, drinking his Mai Thai with a little pink umbrella, just waiting for us to get a clue.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: That's that's me being patient.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: But he's still resting, he rested after seven days because he created the structure.
- 33:43SPEAKER_01: And the structure is I'm gonna do my part, you children, do your part.
- 33:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I have prescribed what your part is.
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: If you abide and operate in that part, then life will be what I intended it to be.
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, however, if you don't, you open up opportunities for the enemy to run rot shot all over your life.
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: So when we sit back and we when we sit back and look at the world from a macro view, yeah, there's a pretty substantial percentage of people who are not doing and operating within the framework that God created.
- 34:22SPEAKER_01: And that leaves us vulnerable for attack and assault and everything else under the sun.
- 34:29SPEAKER_01: Yes, and that's why he sent Jesus Christ, right?
- 34:34SPEAKER_01: Yes, so that's why stuff happens.
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: It's yeah, it's not God, it's the enemy, and it is often our insistence that we want to operate and do whatever we want to do.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and he gives us that freedom, but he also tells us what the consequences are, right?
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: And in many ways, we're living the consequences today.
- 34:56SPEAKER_01: But the good news is we get to run back to him, right?
- 34:59SPEAKER_02: Yes, we get to go sit on that couch with him.
- 35:02SPEAKER_02: We can cast our cares and right.
- 35:05SPEAKER_02: Well, can I ask you a question?
- 35:07SPEAKER_02: You know, the worthy, you know, for women, that that tends to be a very common lie that I'm not worthy.
- 35:15SPEAKER_02: Do you feel like, you know, you're practicing working this thing out, like like the the greater understanding of your worthiness?
- 35:24SPEAKER_02: And this is maybe a question that somebody's wondering, or maybe I'm also wondering as well.
- 35:31SPEAKER_02: So maybe something that let's just say you've you've just somebody's been challenged with rejection, maybe their whole life, like and they've been a believer and they've been working this thing out for a long time, but it just keeps coming back.
- 35:48SPEAKER_02: What would you say to somebody about maybe not being able to kind of get loose of that stronghold of that rejection, rejection, like anytime something happens?
- 36:00SPEAKER_02: How have you seen that play out, maybe in your own life, if that's been, you know, kind of like a long journey home?
- 36:08SPEAKER_01: It's been a long journey because the hurt is real and it's deep and it's profound, right?
- 36:16SPEAKER_01: Disappointment and your your human body, I'm not just saying your mind, but your body is to protect itself.
- 36:27SPEAKER_01: So anytime it recognizes something that is in any way a reflection of what may have caused harm, it's going to defend.
- 36:37SPEAKER_01: And some of the ways we humans defend ourselves is we tell ourselves oftentimes an untrue story.
- 36:45SPEAKER_01: For example, absolute statements.
- 36:47SPEAKER_01: All men are pigs.
- 36:50SPEAKER_02: That's I'm not I'm not agreeing with that one.
- 36:53SPEAKER_01: I absolutely don't agree with that at all.
- 36:56unknown: Right?
- 36:56SPEAKER_01: But there are a lot of women who say all men are pigs.
- 37:00SPEAKER_01: Well, if we look at it factually, that's not the case.
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: First of all, a human being is not a pig.
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: Secondly, you've not met every single man in the world.
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: Cannot say that he's a pig.
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: But the declaration is based on I don't want to get hurt.
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: So let me categorize every single man as a pig so I don't take the same risks I took before.
- 37:24SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 37:25SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 37:26SPEAKER_01: Now, in some ways, the way I would answer this question, I try to be gentle, but I have to be direct.
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: What you're doing is piercing past the noise, right?
- 37:37SPEAKER_01: And one of the reasons that some of these issues pervade is because we're we we so want to protect a person from being hurt, we don't tell them the truth.
- 37:48SPEAKER_01: And the truth is that while I empathize with the hurt, because I've suffered the hurt as well, badly, very, very, very badly.
- 38:01SPEAKER_01: The question then defaults back to, but what does God say?
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: And now if your world continues to say, but all men are pigs, and God says something different, you have to make a choice.
- 38:19SPEAKER_01: Are you going to continue to live within the protective barrier or are you going to trust God to protect you with his truth?
- 38:29SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: Once you make that decision, then you can heal.
- 38:37SPEAKER_01: You can't heal without deciding that you're going to give the hurt to God and let his understanding or his perspective become your truth.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 38:53SPEAKER_01: All men are not pigs.
- 38:55SPEAKER_01: I can stand here and declare that from the heavenlies.
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: I am surrounded by men who are wonderful and honorable and beautiful.
- 39:04SPEAKER_01: And a lot of people be like, Oh, well, where are them at?
- 39:07SPEAKER_01: Because I've never met them.
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you've never met all the men in the world.
- 39:11SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: That's good.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: Your pain is what is informing that position.
- 39:16SPEAKER_01: It's not true.
- 39:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:18SPEAKER_01: And I understand why the pain is informing the position because you don't want to get hurt again.
- 39:23SPEAKER_01: I certainly don't.
- 39:25SPEAKER_01: But you've got to decide that the way to overcome the pain is to embrace God's truth.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: Because when you embrace your truth, it limits your ability to live in Christ's abundance.
- 39:40SPEAKER_01: I point people to the scripture that when when the when Jesus said, I came that you might have life and have it more abundantly, right?
- 39:53SPEAKER_01: And I always underline the word might.
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: And I go, think about that.
- 40:01SPEAKER_01: It doesn't say will, it says might.
- 40:06SPEAKER_01: So when Jesus died, it restored our access to God, but it didn't restore our relationship with God.
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: It created the path to God, but it left that path open for you to choose to take it or not.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: Now, in the overcoming of the hurt from rejection, comes the choice to believe him.
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: You will not feel it.
- 40:40SPEAKER_02: It's gonna say it again.
- 40:42SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be hard because your whole system is gonna rage against it.
- 40:49SPEAKER_01: But over time it will fall under the subjugation of the word of God.
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: It has to.
- 40:56SPEAKER_01: It does not have a choice.
- 40:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, and when I reflect upon my own, you know, it's you know, my rejection story is not just about romantic partnerships, but it's also about family and things of that nature.
- 41:12SPEAKER_01: When I reflect upon many of the rejection situations I've been in, part of it was the person, for sure.
- 41:20SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 41:21SPEAKER_01: For sure.
- 41:22SPEAKER_01: Part of it was me.
- 41:25SPEAKER_01: Part of it was me making a choice to connect to someone who I understood was broken.
- 41:30SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying to myself, just because I understand their brokenness does not mean I need to participate in their life.
- 41:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 41:38SPEAKER_01: Just because I have empathy for what they're suffering does not mean I need to be up under that suffering because I'm going to suffer too, because they're broken.
- 41:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 41:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 41:50SPEAKER_01: I can love you from afar.
- 41:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 41:54SPEAKER_02: So how like how do you, you know, when you say like seeing somebody broken, maybe if somebody's wondering, like, what would that mean if they're hearing broken?
- 42:05SPEAKER_02: You know, maybe they're just kind of, you know, just if you could go a little deeper on on that.
- 42:10SPEAKER_01: Or someone that we perhaps recognize has narcissistic tendencies, for example, that behavior is pure brokenness.
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: Pure brokenness.
- 42:20SPEAKER_01: That is, and broke by broken, I mean something happened that informs the behavior, right?
- 42:27SPEAKER_01: Something occurred in their past, occurred in their life, occurred in their childhood that makes them act in a particularly destructive way.
- 42:36SPEAKER_01: And in that particular instance, it's also quite putrid because narcissism is an attack of the person in front of them, even though the person behaving in a narcissistic way is themselves attacking their own humanity by behaving the way they do, right?
- 42:53SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 42:54SPEAKER_01: So just because I empathize with the person, just because I feel sorry for the person or recognize the problem doesn't mean I need to be in that person's ecosystem.
- 43:04SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 43:04SPEAKER_01: I can pray from there, from for them from afar.
- 43:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: You you get to sit back and you ask yourself, well, why did I make this decision?
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: What did I need from this individual that required that I connect with them in a particular way or let them into my world or into my heart in a particular way?
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: For me, it was I had a hero complex.
- 43:29SPEAKER_01: I wanted to save everybody.
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 43:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:32SPEAKER_02: I was wondering, like, yeah, this might bring a lot of you know, just awareness to people that are listening, wouldn't you say?
- 43:40SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 43:40SPEAKER_01: I mean, as I said, I'm an open book, I don't mind telling my business.
- 43:43SPEAKER_01: I had a hero complex.
- 43:45SPEAKER_01: I would connect myself to people, men, women, blah, blah, blah.
- 43:49SPEAKER_01: Just want to be friends, want to be close, because I want to help them figure out their lives.
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: And then what was going on in their lives would steamroll me.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: That's way too involved.
- 44:03SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 44:04SPEAKER_01: Way, way too involved.
- 44:05SPEAKER_01: And then when you sit back and you think about the individual and you realize they are still on a healing, they they either may be still on a healing journey or they're not even trying to heal.
- 44:17SPEAKER_01: They're just trying to leverage what you are giving to them to be okay in their own life and in their own world.
- 44:23SPEAKER_01: You realize you're wiping yourself out, trying to be a hero to someone when that is not your job.
- 44:29SPEAKER_01: That's not your ministry.
- 44:30SPEAKER_01: Your job is to love them, not save them.
- 44:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:34SPEAKER_02: Can you say that again?
- 44:35SPEAKER_02: Because I think somebody needs to hear that in the back.
- 44:37SPEAKER_01: Your job is to love them, not save them.
- 44:42SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 44:43SPEAKER_02: Whose job is to save them.
- 44:45SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 44:46SPEAKER_01: Your stewardship of your own life is what you are gonna answer for.
- 44:52SPEAKER_01: Not your stewardship of you and this other person, brother, sister, auntie, uncle, boyfriend, husband, whomever.
- 45:01SPEAKER_01: Even in marital situations, your job is not to save them, it's to love them.
- 45:08SPEAKER_01: They have a whole savior that they can go to.
- 45:11SPEAKER_01: They're in charge of that.
- 45:14SPEAKER_01: You're in charge of loving them.
- 45:15SPEAKER_01: If you're married, of course, you illuminate the thing, you illuminate the circumstance.
- 45:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:20SPEAKER_01: But you don't try to fix them.
- 45:23SPEAKER_01: And I was a Mrs.
- 45:24SPEAKER_01: Fixit.
- 45:24SPEAKER_01: Now, why was I a Mrs.
- 45:25SPEAKER_01: Fixit?
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: Because I got validation out of it because of rejection.
- 45:29SPEAKER_01: It was just this crazy cycle, right?
- 45:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:32SPEAKER_01: And I had to just get sit back and go, number one, you are way too prideful in your ability to think that you can fix anybody.
- 45:39SPEAKER_01: Number two, when you are serving people, let the Lord give you the boundaries.
- 45:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:45SPEAKER_01: Calibrate you.
- 45:47SPEAKER_01: So when those when He calibrates you, your expectations are where they need to be, then you don't suffer the disappointment.
- 45:55SPEAKER_01: Because you're not in the dynamic of hoping for something that either that person will not give you or is incapable of giving you.
- 46:02SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 46:02SPEAKER_01: And in many instances in my own life, it's been that person is incapable of doing it because of where they are in their journey.
- 46:12SPEAKER_01: But again, just because I don't I I understand it doesn't mean I need to be a part of it.
- 46:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, this is this is so good.
- 46:20SPEAKER_02: I love where the Lord has led us on this journey here talking today, because somebody needs to hear this.
- 46:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I truly believe that for real.
- 46:30SPEAKER_02: I know last year I was given a word, love without limits, but have limits.
- 46:35SPEAKER_02: Like like you're saying, love, but we can't save them.
- 46:39SPEAKER_02: I mean, right?
- 46:40SPEAKER_02: And it just becomes as as one like I'm one who loves to pour out to people.
- 46:45SPEAKER_02: I've had to learn over time as well.
- 46:47SPEAKER_02: Like, I can't pour out to everybody.
- 46:49SPEAKER_02: Because if I'm pouring out to everybody, I have nothing.
- 46:52SPEAKER_02: You have nothing.
- 46:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 46:54SPEAKER_02: And that doesn't work well.
- 46:55SPEAKER_01: And then this goes back to the worthiness, worthiness part, right?
- 46:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 46:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 47:00SPEAKER_01: Because I'm in a season where God is teaching me about how much he loves me.
- 47:06SPEAKER_01: It's interesting.
- 47:07SPEAKER_01: I've spent many years telling people God loves them, but never really believed that he loved me.
- 47:12SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 47:13SPEAKER_01: Never really believed it, right?
- 47:15SPEAKER_01: And that's because of the hurt, right?
- 47:17SPEAKER_01: How can God love me when I've been damaged in this way?
- 47:19SPEAKER_01: How can I God love me when I've been traumatized in this way?
- 47:22SPEAKER_01: How can I, I am but a dirty rag?
- 47:25SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 47:26SPEAKER_01: That those are the lies that I lived by for a very long time.
- 47:30SPEAKER_01: Somebody pointed out to me that the only disciple after Christ died that died a natural death was John.
- 47:37SPEAKER_01: And that person specifically said, and I'm not, I'm not sure if it's biblically backed up or not, but he said, John was the only one in the Bible who talked about how much God loved him.
- 47:48SPEAKER_01: And so it empowered him.
- 47:51SPEAKER_01: And I sat back with that for a minute.
- 47:54SPEAKER_01: You know, when you're you you have a child and and and they just live an innocent life, and you would hear them say, But my dad did this and my my mommy did that.
- 48:04SPEAKER_01: And they are so settled and confident in the love of their parents that they they are just fearless in living their lives, right?
- 48:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I said, God, I want to be like that.
- 48:16SPEAKER_00: My God is like this, and I'm his favorite.
- 48:19SPEAKER_00: And although this morning I read a scripture that says that God has no favorites, but we can we can tell ourselves.
- 48:25SPEAKER_00: Well, we can always talk about it, right?
- 48:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but it goes back to the worthiness issue because the the the message that God is is is sharing with me now is love yourself.
- 48:37SPEAKER_01: I want you to love yourself like you the way you love others.
- 48:43SPEAKER_01: Love yourself the way you love others, love yourself enough to rest.
- 48:50SPEAKER_01: You don't have to prove your worthiness by overworking.
- 48:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, love yourself enough to have some fun.
- 48:59SPEAKER_01: Love yourself enough to buy a pint of ice cream.
- 49:03SPEAKER_01: I go, sir, my waistline will not will not appreciate that one.
- 49:10SPEAKER_01: And I have the cherries and cheesecake ice cream in the fridge.
- 49:14SPEAKER_02: It is so worth it sometimes.
- 49:16SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 49:18SPEAKER_02: The worthy one needs something.
- 49:21SPEAKER_01: A couple scoops of ice cream, sir.
- 49:24SPEAKER_01: But but but when you come to this place of of understanding that he requires that you not only love others, but you love who he has given you to be.
- 49:39SPEAKER_01: Love yourself enough to don't get swept away by this or that.
- 49:43SPEAKER_01: Love yourself enough to follow my lead.
- 49:46SPEAKER_01: Love yourself enough to not be hard on yourself.
- 49:50SPEAKER_01: Love yourself enough to see how beautifully I've made you.
- 49:56SPEAKER_01: Love yourself enough to make different choices about who you led into your journey.
- 50:02SPEAKER_01: I want you to love you like you love others.
- 50:07SPEAKER_01: I don't want you to treat you the way you would never treat somebody else because you are just as valuable to God as the people you love.
- 50:20SPEAKER_01: Yes, as a matter of fact, sometimes I say to people, and if you don't treat yourself well, you're making God angry.
- 50:31SPEAKER_01: That's good, that's a great reminder.
- 50:34SPEAKER_01: Are just as valuable to the Lord.
- 50:37SPEAKER_01: So how dare you not treat yourself well?
- 50:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, and it's even you know, the verse says, love your neighbor as yourself.
- 50:46SPEAKER_02: Well, how can you love your neighbor as yourself if if loving as yourself means you don't love yourself, how can you love your neighbor?
- 50:53SPEAKER_01: Which explains everything our world.
- 50:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it explains every argument under the sun.
- 50:59SPEAKER_01: Yes, every battle that happens is oriented around a core issue of people just not loving, not not loving themselves enough, not understanding, and when I say love yourself, I'm not it's coming from him, it's that's coming from him in out, him in out, right?
- 51:22SPEAKER_01: It's it's not the oh I'm gorgeous, and I'm this because that's that's just that's coming from pride and whatever else, but truly looking yourself in the mirror and going, Well, you're all right, and look how cute you are, too.
- 51:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, from the inside and out.
- 51:39SPEAKER_00: You you kind of look you're just yeah, wonderful, you're two seconds shy, fabulous girl.
- 51:46SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 51:47SPEAKER_01: And and you're not part of that, too.
- 51:50SPEAKER_01: There's a connection I'm making in my mind now.
- 51:53SPEAKER_01: Part of that too is loving the Lord in you for those of you who are believers, right?
- 51:58SPEAKER_01: When you decided to give your life to Christ, the Lord came and resided within you.
- 52:07SPEAKER_01: You are now one with the Father.
- 52:10SPEAKER_01: So when you love you, you love Him.
- 52:14SPEAKER_01: Because you're honoring, you're honoring where He has chosen to reside, you're honoring Him, right?
- 52:25SPEAKER_01: So how do we get there, right?
- 52:27SPEAKER_01: That's the struggle, right?
- 52:28SPEAKER_01: Don't don't Don't you hate it when people tell you what to do, but don't tell you how to do it.
- 52:32SPEAKER_01: Well, you're gonna tell us, aren't you?
- 52:34SPEAKER_01: Apparently, yeah.
- 52:39SPEAKER_01: This is gonna sound really cliche, but if you change your mind, you change your life.
- 52:46SPEAKER_01: And much of the challenges that we struggle with are because of what we believe.
- 52:53SPEAKER_01: It is it is fundamentally about what we have decided is true.
- 53:01SPEAKER_01: However, if it does not line up with what God says, it's not true.
- 53:07SPEAKER_01: So we've got to change our beliefs, we've got to change what we abide in, what we embrace.
- 53:16SPEAKER_01: We've got to reject anything that isn't from God.
- 53:19SPEAKER_01: So then the question becomes how do we get there?
- 53:23SPEAKER_01: Well, the Bible says renew your renew your mind daily.
- 53:27SPEAKER_01: The Bible says meditate on the word.
- 53:31SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 53:31SPEAKER_01: There are a lot of people who don't understand that the Bible, the word of God is actually a living, breathing thing.
- 53:38SPEAKER_01: But when we consume it, it alights within our spirit, it literally wakes up our spirit man, and it is fuel for the spirit of God in us.
- 53:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so if we go into the scriptures, we identify what God says in opposition to what was being said to us or what we've chosen to believe, right?
- 54:06SPEAKER_01: And we meditate on that thing.
- 54:10SPEAKER_01: We meditate, and meditation is not just reading it over and over, it is literally speaking it out loud.
- 54:16SPEAKER_01: Dr.
- 54:16SPEAKER_01: Caroline Leaf did a bunch of neurological research that specifically validates that we believe more of what we say to ourselves than what anybody else says to us.
- 54:28SPEAKER_01: So if we come out of our mouth, even the Bible, there are scriptures that specifically say speak it out loud, right?
- 54:35SPEAKER_01: If we come out of our mouth and we say things like, I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, no, I am worthy because I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
- 54:50SPEAKER_01: And we say that persistently, consistently, and regularly, we begin to believe.
- 54:58SPEAKER_01: Our mind shifts.
- 55:00SPEAKER_01: And when our mind shifts, our worlds change.
- 55:03SPEAKER_01: Because now we come out of this mindset of, oh, I can't too.
- 55:07SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
- 55:09SPEAKER_01: There is nothing I'm incapable of doing.
- 55:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:13SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 55:14SPEAKER_01: There's nothing.
- 55:15SPEAKER_01: That's empowering, right?
- 55:17SPEAKER_01: You come to a place where you believe it.
- 55:20SPEAKER_01: So it's systematic, right?
- 55:22SPEAKER_01: You identify the things that you struggle with, make a list of them, and then ask the Holy Spirit to point you to the scripture that will give you revelation revelatory transformation in your mindset.
- 55:36SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 55:37SPEAKER_01: You study that thing, you say that thing out loud over, like, for example, I could, you know, the declaration of, well, I could never get past this financial burden that I'm in.
- 55:49SPEAKER_01: I'm always struggling with money.
- 55:51SPEAKER_01: The Bible says that he has never left his righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
- 55:58SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 55:59SPEAKER_01: So what do you do?
- 56:00SPEAKER_01: You take that scripture, right?
- 56:01SPEAKER_01: And you go, I am the righteous of God.
- 56:05SPEAKER_01: I'm not forsaken.
- 56:06SPEAKER_01: I am God's seed.
- 56:07SPEAKER_01: I will not beg bread.
- 56:10SPEAKER_01: And you personalize that and you say it over and over and over.
- 56:14SPEAKER_01: Now you're feeding your spirit, man.
- 56:17SPEAKER_01: Now you're activating your faith.
- 56:20SPEAKER_01: Now the angels of heaven that are assigned to go out and grab a hold of what is yours by faith are activated and they're on the job within an express period of time.
- 56:35SPEAKER_01: You will not be struggling with money anymore.
- 56:39SPEAKER_04: So good.
- 56:40SPEAKER_01: Because it must fall under the subjugation of the word of God.
- 56:43SPEAKER_01: Whatever you declare out of your spirit must fall under the subjugation of the word of God.
- 56:51SPEAKER_01: And at the beginning, it's going to be hard.
- 56:54SPEAKER_01: It's going to feel like this is a waste of time.
- 56:58SPEAKER_01: Your mind, your will, and your emotions are going to tell you that this is never going to happen.
- 57:03SPEAKER_01: It's never going to change.
- 57:04SPEAKER_01: Well, while your mind, your will, and your emotions are telling you that, keep saying it.
- 57:10SPEAKER_01: Because that is how you rein those things in.
- 57:13SPEAKER_01: A lot of people say, Well, I can't help it.
- 57:15SPEAKER_01: Yes, you can.
- 57:16SPEAKER_01: They are yours to command.
- 57:18unknown: Yeah.
- 57:19SPEAKER_01: And you command them with the word of God.
- 57:23SPEAKER_01: What does God say about worthiness?
- 57:26SPEAKER_01: I am God's workmanship.
- 57:29SPEAKER_01: I was made in his image.
- 57:31SPEAKER_01: Think about that for a second.
- 57:33SPEAKER_01: God sat in a mirror and watched his perfect self and crafted you.
- 57:39SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 57:40SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm not worthy.
- 57:42SPEAKER_01: No, but God says that I am made in his image, so I must be worthy.
- 57:46SPEAKER_01: I don't feel worthy.
- 57:47SPEAKER_01: That's okay.
- 57:48SPEAKER_01: Your feelings will fall in line.
- 57:50SPEAKER_01: I am worthy.
- 57:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I am.
- 57:53SPEAKER_01: I am worthy.
- 57:54SPEAKER_01: Not I was, nor I nor I will I become.
- 57:56SPEAKER_01: You were made worthy the minute he decided to create you.
- 58:01SPEAKER_01: And God does not make mistakes, no matter what the world would would choose to tell you.
- 58:06unknown: Right.
- 58:06SPEAKER_01: You are not a mistake.
- 58:08SPEAKER_01: But look at all the things that I've done.
- 58:10SPEAKER_01: There are 12 million people in the Bible who did far worse than you.
- 58:15SPEAKER_01: Far worse.
- 58:19SPEAKER_01: If David's story were to be turned into a film, it would be R-rated.
- 58:25SPEAKER_02: Is that coming soon?
- 58:27SPEAKER_01: That were maybe.
- 58:28SPEAKER_02: Maybe.
- 58:30SPEAKER_02: If you guys aren't on YouTube, she did something.
- 58:34SPEAKER_00: Raise my hand.
- 58:36SPEAKER_01: That's all I'm gonna say about that.
- 58:39SPEAKER_01: If David's story were to be told today in a real film, it would be R-rated to the extent to which David was outside.
- 58:50SPEAKER_01: He was all the way outside.
- 58:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 58:52SPEAKER_01: And yet God called him a man after his own heart.
- 58:55SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 58:56SPEAKER_01: Did he suffer the consequences of him being outside?
- 58:59SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 59:00SPEAKER_01: Did God turn his face from David?
- 59:03SPEAKER_01: Not at all.
- 59:04SPEAKER_01: Not that I'm giving you permission to be outside, because being a presumptive sinner only creates problems for you.
- 59:12SPEAKER_01: The reason that God has a blueprint is because he doesn't want us to suffer.
- 59:16SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 59:17SPEAKER_01: We will if we fall into whatever, but he doesn't want that.
- 59:21SPEAKER_01: He gives you a blueprint so as to avoid those situations.
- 59:24SPEAKER_01: And then he goes on to say, well, but it rains on the just and the unjust.
- 59:28SPEAKER_01: So wait a minute.
- 59:29SPEAKER_01: If I don't follow the if I follow the blueprint, I'm still gonna have problems.
- 59:33SPEAKER_01: How does that work?
- 59:35SPEAKER_01: The best part about that, we still have a fallen world and we're still faced with evil, right?
- 59:40SPEAKER_01: But the best part of walking with him and following the blueprint with the help of the Holy Spirit, we don't do that on our own, by the way.
- 59:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, is that we end up navigating it so beautifully, it's almost as if it never happened.
- 59:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 59:56SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 59:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, sometimes it is.
- 59:58SPEAKER_01: You you can see the haggard and the ragged and the tired, but for the most part, we have hope, we have joy, we have peace in the middle of some of the craziest things we can ever suffer.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_01: Like hope and like joy unexplainable to others.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_01: That is the blessing of walking with God, even when it rains on the just, we have hope.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_01: We are not in despair, we are not devolving into a puddle of a mess, you know.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_01: So, again, how do you find yourself going from one belief system to another?
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_01: Make a beautiful exchange, give your thought process to God and let him fill it with his.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_01: Let it become your truth, let it become the first thing you say in response to a problem.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_01: And once that happens, your life will transform, you will become unstoppable.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_01: I promise you.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_02: Can I ask you, like, and and somebody might be wondering, like, they might just wonder this like, how long, how long would you say it could take to, you know, like I know Dr.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_02: Caroline Leaf talks about 63 days, it's like two months in essence for that maybe that one part of your brain to be rewired.
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_02: Let's just say you're rewiring, and I like to say flip the script.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_02: So if you're saying I'm unworthy, to really experience like I actually am worthy, like I'm not worthy, I am worthy.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_02: How long could somebody if somebody's practicing this, could they potentially expect to have that flip the switch?
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_01: I would say instantly and then not instantly.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_01: And I'm not a I'm not in any way a neurological expert, right?
- 1:01:45unknown: Dr.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_01: Leaf's.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_01: But you're made in his image.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_01: That is Dr.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_01: Leaf's purview.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_01: But the reason I would say instantly is because your spirit man comes to life whether you feel it or not.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_01: The the the length of time it takes is often predicated on how deeply it's seated in you.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_01: Like worthiness challenges were had been deeply seated in me, and I'm still working on it, to be honest.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_01: But I'm still working on it.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_01: Every day, I have to remind myself that God loves me.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_01: God loves me.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_01: With the chub and the chocolate and the all the things, right?
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_01: All of the things that you sit here and you go, well, in your mind, disqualifies you from being loved by him.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_01: He doesn't even concern himself with.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_01: No, right.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_01: You know, so nowadays I go, I make chub look good, right?
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_01: Fat is glorified by being on my body.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_01: Like, and I'm serious about that.
- 1:02:47SPEAKER_01: I make chubb look good, right?
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_01: Not that I want the chub, but not because I have it, I'm gonna work it, right?
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, until it goes away because it's not healthy.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_01: But my point is, is it the length of time is is aligned, is is there is no prescription prescription for the length of time it takes.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_01: That's from what I understand.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_01: I think that's one of the answers I was hoping you would say.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_01: There's no prescription for the length of time it would take, and that may make a listener go, well, what why bother?
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_01: Why bother is because you walk with the Lord anyway, right?
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_01: That's why you bother, because you're walking with God and it's what he wants, it's what he wants you to do.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_01: However, it does work.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_01: I am sitting here able to tell you this because it has worked for me.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, uh the length of time is also predicated on not just your mindset, but your nervous system, because your belief system becomes a part of your nervous system.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_01: And sometimes it takes longer for your body to relinquish its reaction to something that it feels is a threat.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_01: For example, recently I was unwell and it was because I was working out way too hard as part of it, right?
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_01: And I hadn't gotten to the point where if I tried to take a walk, my back would lock up as if it was getting ready to defend itself against the crazy that I was doing to my body.
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_04: Oh, wow.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_01: It took months for my neck and back to relax, like four or five months, for me to not feel the constant hunchback pain that I was feeling.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_01: Because my neck and back finally started to realize, oh, she's not working out like a crazy person.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_01: She's not lifting 300-pound deadlift, like if she's a weightlifter.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_01: I'm not doing that to myself anymore.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_01: So sometimes your body takes longer to catch up, but it doesn't mean your mind hasn't changed.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_01: It means your body now needs to get accustomed to the new world order of things.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_01: Over time, that gets better as well.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_01: It is literally you exercising the word of God on the inside of you and building your spiritual muscles.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_01: That's really literally what it is.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_01: And some days are better than others.
- 1:05:13SPEAKER_01: Now, now here's some real wonderful hope.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_01: This is the hope, right?
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_01: Bring it.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_00: Bring it.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_01: Well, the best part of walking with God is that it's a cheat code.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_01: What you mean?
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, there is no corner of your walk with God that God has not created a contingency for.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_01: I mean, sit back and think about it, right?
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_01: You literally have God Himself.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna pause for dramatic effect.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_01: You have Jesus Christ who is interceding on your behalf.
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_01: He died, first of all, a whole death, not a partial death, a whole death with all of your stuff on him.
- 1:05:57SPEAKER_01: So you don't have to deal with the stuff no mo, right?
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_01: And then he came back to life and he's now interceding on your behalf.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_01: So first you have God, you have Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit, every single day, every moment of every day, you have access to the Holy Spirit.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_01: And if you are struggling with something, all you got to do is go Holy Spirit help.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_01: Help is a whole prayer.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_01: It is one word true, help.
- 1:06:28SPEAKER_01: So recap God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, then you have.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_01: The Bible and it itself says that when everything else passes away, God's word will not pass away, which is why feeding on the word of God, which is what meditation is, is so critical, right?
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:06:49SPEAKER_01: So we have God, we have Jesus, we have the Holy Spirit, we have the Bible, then you have your ministering angels.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_01: Their job is to go out and do the things in alignment with our faith.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_01: Their job is to cover and defend.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_01: Listen, follow the direction of the Lord, follow our direction according to our faith, right?
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_01: God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, angels, the Bible.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_01: Then we have all of the resources of heaven available to us.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_01: All of the resources of heaven.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_01: Let's say that again for the people in all of the resources.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_01: Not just them.
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_01: All of it.
- 1:07:41SPEAKER_01: We have God, we have Jesus Christ.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_01: We have the Bible.
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_01: We have ministering angels.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_01: And we have every resource available from heaven to us.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_01: Why are we on why are we not unstoppable?
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_01: Because we don't take advantage of all of it.
- 1:08:07SPEAKER_01: We don't.
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_01: That is the power of being a child of the king.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_01: So when we delve back into how to overcome, whether it's worthiness, whether it's the thing or the thing or the thing, you tap into those resources.
- 1:08:22SPEAKER_01: You study and meditate the word.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_01: In the moments where you feel overwhelmed by the feeling of worthiness, you go, God, I need your help.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_01: Holy Spirit, how do I, how do I deal with this in this moment at this time?
- 1:08:35SPEAKER_01: You you you literally ask the Father, give me a plan, map it out for me.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_01: Show me what I need to do in this particular situation at this time, in this moment.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_01: It could be as hard as an overwhelming feeling of anxiety, and as simple as, I don't know what eyeshadow to wear this morning, Lord.
- 1:08:58SPEAKER_01: True.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_01: Because he cares about all of it.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_01: And the reason I mentioned that is because he's actually taken me through a couple makeup tutorials once or twice.
- 1:09:07SPEAKER_02: I mean, and he's he's in the details of everything.
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_02: Like it doesn't have to, it can be like making food or what to wear that day.
- 1:09:15SPEAKER_01: Like add a little bit of this.
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_01: So recently I saw a video with that Jackie Hoopery had put out.
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_01: And the part of that video that stuck with me is that it says that she says, pray fast, right?
- 1:09:29SPEAKER_01: Not speed through a prayer, but when you are in a moment of a circumstance, of a situation, pray immediately.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, don't let it wait.
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_01: Because God says he's an ever-present help in the time of trouble.
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_01: What that I will extend that to say, not just pray fast, but access the resources of heaven immediately because it's available to us.
- 1:09:56SPEAKER_01: That's what Christ died for.
- 1:09:58SPEAKER_01: Anything that Christ died for, we don't have to beg for, we grab a hold of it.
- 1:10:03SPEAKER_01: It is ours, it belongs to us.
- 1:10:06SPEAKER_01: Take hold of the resources, take hold of the Holy Spirit, take hold of the word, take hold of your ministering issue, take hold.
- 1:10:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's good.
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_01: I mean, and the reason I say it's a cheat code is because we basically have nothing much to do other than abide in him.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_01: But the problem is we don't.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_01: We've built up a society that says you've gotta do it all.
- 1:10:37SPEAKER_01: You've got that's the culture.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you've gotta solve this problem for this child, you've gotta fix your financial issues, you've gotta know what you gotta do is follow what the Lord says.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_01: You just do what he said, go in the direction he tells you, yeah, and do it quickly.
- 1:10:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like do the thing, like what you do.
- 1:11:01SPEAKER_02: Do the thing, like do the thing.
- 1:11:03SPEAKER_02: That's I mean, we could we could go so many.
- 1:11:06SPEAKER_02: I feel like I'm gonna have to have a heavy back.
- 1:11:08SPEAKER_02: Um the time goes so fast, doesn't it?
- 1:11:11SPEAKER_02: It certainly does.
- 1:11:12SPEAKER_02: How about um I feel like you know, one of the things that I've learned, and and this kind of correlates, and I'm I'm recognizing it more and more.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_02: Something in me that maybe I don't feel like doing, or it it seems like, oh, I I don't know if I I could do that.
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_02: Like I'm not good enough.
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_02: You hear all the lies, and it's like, what I'm learning to do is it if it's something that I know, like for me, it's speak.
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_02: That's the thing the Lord's got his finger on.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_02: And when I maybe get an invitation, it's like, I'll hear it, not good enough.
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_02: You know, you can't do that.
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_02: And at the moment I'll quickly say yes, it just all the arrows they stop.
- 1:11:53SPEAKER_02: They just melt away, they stop.
- 1:11:56SPEAKER_02: And the more I keep saying yes to the thing that's uncomfortable for me, and step into it, do the thing, it lessens every single time.
- 1:12:09SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I love, I love what you've shared here.
- 1:12:12SPEAKER_02: Like this is so deep and rich.
- 1:12:14SPEAKER_02: You are a wealth of wisdom, and it's come through, like a lot of us have come through a lot, right?
- 1:12:19SPEAKER_02: So, as you've come through a lot, I want to make sure that we really touch on parable productions and tell us like where can people reach you?
- 1:12:28SPEAKER_02: Like, what are you hoping for maybe in the next season?
- 1:12:32SPEAKER_02: Are you looking for anybody to come alongside you?
- 1:12:36SPEAKER_02: Do you need people?
- 1:12:37SPEAKER_02: Do you need, you know, more team?
- 1:12:39SPEAKER_02: What is what does Jen need in this season?
- 1:12:42SPEAKER_02: And all the things.
- 1:12:45SPEAKER_01: Um we have a lovely collection of resources.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_01: We have books, we have programs that are supported by the books that we are producing right now.
- 1:12:58SPEAKER_01: I was reminded this morning that I have a fully developed theatrical production that I can offer to a ministry or organization at no cost to them if they have the right discipleship program behind them, so we can partner together and reach people that are lost and don't know God.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_01: So if there's an organization that might be listening to this and would be interested in talking to us about the show called New, it's the name of the show.
- 1:13:28SPEAKER_01: I would be more than happy to have a chat.
- 1:13:31SPEAKER_01: But our books and our merchandise, all of the merchandise out there right now is stuff that I usually say in my everyday life and just made it funny.
- 1:13:40SPEAKER_01: But the books as resources are really, really powerful.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_01: We have As I Fix My Crown that deals with identity, your crown is your identity, and the replacement of your understanding of yourself because of trauma.
- 1:13:54SPEAKER_01: So the book actually takes you through an eight-week journey of helping you rediscover who God says about you.
- 1:14:00SPEAKER_01: Because if you change your mind, you change your life.
- 1:14:04SPEAKER_01: We have raging war for men because we know men fight battles internally, and that book is a complement to the man who is struggling with this or that.
- 1:14:14SPEAKER_01: It's a 10-week journey.
- 1:14:15SPEAKER_01: We have we have unshakable faith.
- 1:14:18SPEAKER_01: It is a memoir written by a woman who went through everything you could possibly imagine, much of it her own decision making and discovering unshakable faith in her redemptive story, right?
- 1:14:31SPEAKER_01: So, and each of those ministers have programs for organizations that may be looking for a women's program or looking for a men's program, and they don't have the time to formalize it, right?
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_01: So you can either get one of the books, you can have a conversation with me about the programs that are buffered by the books.
- 1:14:49SPEAKER_01: We have a couple of churches using them now and they're loving it.
- 1:14:52SPEAKER_01: So if anybody's interested in those, we are more than happy to have a conversation with you, you know, and parable is just growing, right?
- 1:14:59SPEAKER_01: I would love for there to be a groundswell, just being honest, a groundswell of sales in the next couple of weeks because I genuinely need the revenue for this entrepreneurship journey to continue, you know, and trusting that God is going to open the door.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_01: So if any of the listeners are interested, they can go to to make purchases.
- 1:15:20SPEAKER_01: You can go to myparablestore.com and you know, Kristen will put some links out in the in the show notes and everything else for you to access.
- 1:15:31SPEAKER_01: If you want to learn more about Parable Productions itself, you can go to myparableproductions.com.
- 1:15:37SPEAKER_01: If you want to contact me, just fill out the contact form, and that is how you will reach me.
- 1:15:41SPEAKER_01: Or you can try contact at myparableproductions.com.
- 1:15:47SPEAKER_02: And that's email.
- 1:15:48SPEAKER_02: That's email, yes.
- 1:15:49SPEAKER_02: Okay, perfect.
- 1:15:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'll definitely have everything in the show notes.
- 1:15:52SPEAKER_02: And I'm sure everybody hears like she needs to come back more.
- 1:15:57SPEAKER_02: We'll have her back.
- 1:15:58SPEAKER_02: Don't worry, don't you worry, don't you worry.
- 1:16:01SPEAKER_02: So as we wrap up for today, thank you so much for sharing everything you've shared.
- 1:16:05SPEAKER_02: As as I've shared with you, I do this for the one.
- 1:16:08SPEAKER_02: So if you could just get in mind that one who's been listening in today, is there any other words of wisdom or encouragement that you'd want to briefly just drop on them before we wrap up today?
- 1:16:19SPEAKER_01: So the truth is that all of us are struggling with something, particularly into the in these times, right?
- 1:16:27SPEAKER_01: And it is so easy for us to yield to how we feel.
- 1:16:32SPEAKER_01: And it's okay to feel that way.
- 1:16:34SPEAKER_01: I'm not in any way demonizing your feelings because I have them too.
- 1:16:38SPEAKER_01: God gave us our feelings, but our the purpose of our feelings is to help us understand how to pray.
- 1:16:46SPEAKER_01: It is not to govern what we do.
- 1:16:48SPEAKER_01: So I would encourage you that if something is weighted upon you, if something is overwhelming you, if something is pulling on your heart, if something is crushing you, if something is making you cry, even at the thought of it, give it to God.
- 1:17:06SPEAKER_01: Go talk to him.
- 1:17:08SPEAKER_01: If you gotta use all the words and phrases that you feel like will offend him, but for blasphemy, he can handle it.
- 1:17:16SPEAKER_01: He's a big boy.
- 1:17:17SPEAKER_01: Tell him everything, cast your cares upon him.
- 1:17:23SPEAKER_01: Also recognize, my mom said this a long time ago.
- 1:17:26SPEAKER_01: She was a pastor of 40 years.
- 1:17:28SPEAKER_01: She said, anything that is negative is not from God.
- 1:17:33SPEAKER_01: Anything that is negative is not from God.
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_01: So if it's coming at you negatively, it is not from the Father.
- 1:17:42SPEAKER_01: You go to him, you put it at his feet, and you go, God, I want what you have.
- 1:17:48SPEAKER_01: I don't want what this is.
- 1:17:51SPEAKER_01: And he will help you.
- 1:17:53SPEAKER_01: He will help you in the spirit, he will point you to resources.
- 1:17:58SPEAKER_01: You are absolutely not alone.
- 1:18:00SPEAKER_01: That is alive from the pits of hell.
- 1:18:02SPEAKER_01: We may not know each other, but trust and believe.
- 1:18:05SPEAKER_01: If God places it in my heart to pray, I'm a pray.
- 1:18:08SPEAKER_01: There is at least one person around you that is praying for you, who are worthy, who are awesome.
- 1:18:16SPEAKER_01: And I feel led to speak to the person that's considering suicide and is listening to this part of this message right now.
- 1:18:23SPEAKER_01: Do not make a permanent decision for a problem that I guarantee you is temporary.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_01: Ask me how I know.
- 1:18:31SPEAKER_01: I attempted it myself.
- 1:18:34SPEAKER_01: And when I sat back with it later on and I said, What was my real problem?
- 1:18:39SPEAKER_01: My real problem that I was suffering so much pain that I couldn't figure out a way out.
- 1:18:44SPEAKER_01: I just wanted the pain to stop.
- 1:18:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I just wanted it to stop.
- 1:18:50SPEAKER_01: But when I was in the hospital, nursing the belly full of pills that I had taken, the Lord sent a nurse that had my mom's voice and it calmed me and it told me that there is another side to this.
- 1:19:06SPEAKER_01: It told me that the father is hearing my cry.
- 1:19:13SPEAKER_01: And then later on, nobody knew when I asked about her, nobody, nobody knew who she was.
- 1:19:21SPEAKER_01: And I told the Lord that day, I said, I'm never gonna come back here.
- 1:19:25SPEAKER_01: This is not the answer.
- 1:19:28SPEAKER_01: Taking your life is not the answer.
- 1:19:30SPEAKER_01: Anything that is telling you in your ears that you are not worthy, go ahead and kill yourself.
- 1:19:37SPEAKER_01: You are not, you are not it.
- 1:19:40SPEAKER_01: That is a lie because it does not come from God.
- 1:19:43SPEAKER_01: If it does not come from God, it is a lie.
- 1:19:47SPEAKER_01: I want you to take that nugget and believe it.
- 1:19:51SPEAKER_01: Put down the gun, put down the the powder, step away from the ledge and go ask for help.
- 1:20:02SPEAKER_01: And he will help you, and there are people who will help you, but do not forfeit your life because you are loved, and there's so much more that this world has to enjoy with you in it.
- 1:20:14SPEAKER_02: Yes, and I enjoy with you in it.
- 1:20:20SPEAKER_02: With you in it, with you.
- 1:20:22SPEAKER_02: We need we need you.
- 1:20:24SPEAKER_02: We need you.
- 1:20:26SPEAKER_02: People need you.
- 1:20:28SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 1:20:30SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 1:20:31SPEAKER_02: Jen, thank you.
- 1:20:33SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 1:20:34SPEAKER_02: Well, thank you for being a brave voice who's setting so many free.
- 1:20:38SPEAKER_02: I am gonna close with a hope unlocked anchoring verse.
- 1:20:40SPEAKER_02: It is, may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
- 1:20:48SPEAKER_02: And that's Romans 15, 13.
- 1:20:50SPEAKER_02: So thank you.
- 1:20:51SPEAKER_02: We will have her back for sure.
- 1:20:53SPEAKER_02: Reach out to her, go check out all her stuff in the show notes, and I'll be back with another episode next week.
- 1:20:58SPEAKER_02: Thanks, listeners.
- 1:20:59SPEAKER_02: Bye.
- 1:21:00SPEAKER_02: Hey, Jennifer.
